  SPEAKER_01: And you can't uh wait upon people, wait upon the situation to be right, to give you some joy.

  SPEAKER_01: When David they wanted to stone David, the Bible said David encouraged himself in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: There's times you're gonna have to get alone and you're gonna have to not have a pity party, but a Holy Ghost party all by yourself, all by yourself.

  SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to get alone and praise God and worship the Lord and bless the Lord all by yourself.

  SPEAKER_01: Because if you're waiting on folk to do it, it might not happen.

  SPEAKER_01: Some folk you want to pump and prime, they want you to pump and prime them and pull on them.

  SPEAKER_01: Some folk they want you, amen, to to uh to uh try to stir.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to have this thing on the inside.

  SPEAKER_01: That doesn't mean that you don't have some tough times, but there's some times you got to you got to encourage yourself when bad news come.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to this is only temporary when you know that God is in total control, amen.

  SPEAKER_01: So I've give I've given up on pity parties.

  SPEAKER_01: Pity parties is of the devil because a pity party will make you believe that God doesn't have the power to bring you out of your situation.

  SPEAKER_01: Now, some folk like pity parties, they do, they like pity parties.

  SPEAKER_01: Some folk like pity parties, and some folk need to be encouraged.

  SPEAKER_01: But a mature saint will know how to encourage himself.

  SPEAKER_01: Thank God for maturity.

  SPEAKER_01: Paul writes in the book of uh Ephesus chapter six and verse 10.

  SPEAKER_01: He says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.

  SPEAKER_01: He uses the word finally, six and ten.
• 3:44
  SPEAKER_01: He used the word finally.
• 3:47
  SPEAKER_01: And so Paul is making a declaration or statement when he says finally to the things he said previously.

  SPEAKER_01: And so he's getting ready to sum up what he's been talking about, and uh and he says, uh uh be strong, not in your own strength, but in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: Be strong in the Lord, and not in your power, but in the power of his might.

  SPEAKER_01: Be strong, finally.
• 4:15
  SPEAKER_01: And so Paul is admonishing them in verse one.

  SPEAKER_01: He's dealing with the children, and he deals with the children.
• 4:22
  SPEAKER_01: So he deals with the perspective of a family uh uh uh um uh dichotomy, and he says to the children that he deals with the father, and then he deals with us on our workplace.

  SPEAKER_01: You'd be surprised at how many folk act like this on Sunday morning, but in the workplace, if you walked in, you wouldn't even recognize them.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, you're the same person that I saw on Sunday.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, glory, yes, got quiet, didn't it?

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, so he tells the children, he said, children, obey your parents in the Lord, your parents that are telling you to do right things which are in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: See, a parent in the Lord is not gonna lead their child astray.

  SPEAKER_01: A parent in the Lord is gonna have some grace and mercy.

  SPEAKER_01: A parent in the Lord is gonna have some wisdom, a parent in the Lord is gonna have some knowledge and some understanding.

  SPEAKER_01: So he says, Children, obey your parents in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: For this is right, right before what?
• 5:40
  SPEAKER_01: Right in the sight of God.

  SPEAKER_01: Then he says, This honor children, thy father and thy mother.

  SPEAKER_01: Don't honor the father and then treat the mother like dirt.

  SPEAKER_01: Don't honor the mother and treat the father like dirt.

  SPEAKER_01: Honor thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with promise.

  SPEAKER_01: Paul, the apostle, is writing this to the uh church at Ephesus, the New Testament church.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, you still have to honor your mother and father.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, that it might be well with thee, that thou might live long on the earth.

  SPEAKER_01: So dishonoring your parents can shorten your life.

  SPEAKER_01: Can shorten your life, children.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, I ain't no children.

  SPEAKER_01: I'm 50 years old.

  SPEAKER_01: You always be your mother's child and your father's child, and you still gotta honor them.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I ain't making no friends in here.

  SPEAKER_01: You still gotta honor them.

  SPEAKER_01: You still gotta show honor to them.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, you don't understand, you gotta honor them in the Lord that thy days may live long upon the earth.

  SPEAKER_01: Could it be that some things come upon us because the way we treat our parents?

  SPEAKER_01: Could it be that we went out of here because we didn't honor like the Bible told us?

  SPEAKER_01: There is a cause effect here.

  SPEAKER_01: If you learn to honor them, you might live a little longer.

  SPEAKER_01: That's why I can proudly say I did everything that I could do for my mom and dad while they were living.

  SPEAKER_01: Glory.

  SPEAKER_01: And you fathers.

  SPEAKER_01: Provoke not your children to wrath.

  SPEAKER_01: Don't be hard on them.

  SPEAKER_01: Don't be a tyrant.

  SPEAKER_01: Don't, amen, cause your children to go the other direction because you own them like a tyrant.

  SPEAKER_01: But bring them up, here's the word, in the nurture and omniscient of the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: So, fathers, you're the head of your household.

  SPEAKER_01: You have a job to do to teach your children and nourish them up in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: It is not just on the church, it's on the fathers and the family.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, Pastor, we don't have no father.

  SPEAKER_01: Well, mother, you got a dual role.
• 8:53
  SPEAKER_01: The church is gonna help you.
• 8:56
  SPEAKER_01: Nourish them.

  SPEAKER_01: Love on them.

  SPEAKER_01: Sometimes love is hard.

  SPEAKER_01: And admonish them in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: Teach them about the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: That means you got to have Bible studies with them.

  SPEAKER_01: That means you got to sit down and talk to them about who Jesus is.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to teach them how to pray.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to teach them about fasting.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to teach them about the word of the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to bring them to church.

  SPEAKER_01: You got to help them know about the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: How else are they gonna know about the Lord?

  SPEAKER_01: You got a role to do.

  SPEAKER_01: Hallelujah.

  SPEAKER_01: Teach them.

  SPEAKER_01: You got a job, you got a job due.

  SPEAKER_01: You're not done all you can do.

  SPEAKER_01: If they want to do something different, then that's on them.

  SPEAKER_01: Bring them to church.

  SPEAKER_01: Teach them at home.

  SPEAKER_01: Teach them at home who Jesus is.

  SPEAKER_01: Teach them about the love of Christ.

  SPEAKER_01: Teach about how God so loved the world that he came and stepped out of glory.

  SPEAKER_01: Went to that cross and died for them.

  SPEAKER_01: That they can live a life, amen, and have eternal life.

  SPEAKER_01: Let them know about the Lord.
• 10:16
  SPEAKER_01: Because if you don't let them know about the Lord, the devil will let them know about the wickedness of the world.

  SPEAKER_01: He'll teach them about unrighteousness.

  SPEAKER_01: He'll teach them about drug dealing.

  SPEAKER_01: He'll teach them about drug using.
• 10:27
  SPEAKER_01: The devil will teach them.

  SPEAKER_01: Then they don't know how important they are to God.

  SPEAKER_01: Fathers, teach them and nourish them.

  SPEAKER_01: Then he deals with the workplace.

  SPEAKER_01: Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh.

  SPEAKER_01: With fear and trembling and singles of your heart as unto Christ.

  SPEAKER_01: And so, amen on the workplace.

  SPEAKER_01: You must obey them that are your masters.

  SPEAKER_01: Use the word here, your bosses, those are in charge of you.

  SPEAKER_01: Not saying, or I laid them out, I laid my boss out.

  SPEAKER_01: He told me, do something, and I laid them out.

  SPEAKER_01: He says that uh obey them uh according to the flesh with fear and trembling and sickness of your heart as unto Christ.

  SPEAKER_01: Because you're a representative of Christ on that job.

  SPEAKER_01: Now, we know you're not gonna obey them, they're telling you to do something that's against Christ.

  SPEAKER_01: But they just telling you when you get here, you've got to punch your time card, and you laying them out about punching your time card.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, you'd be surprised how folk act on the job, but in the church, praise the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: And then come family and friend day, and you wanna invite somebody to church, nobody on your job won't come.

  SPEAKER_01: Because your action is not conducive to you being a Christian.

  SPEAKER_01: They asked me to do that, take that out.

  SPEAKER_01: Not with eye service as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.

  SPEAKER_01: God wants us to be a witness on our job.

  SPEAKER_01: He wants us to see when when when before you knew Christ, you were nasty.

  SPEAKER_01: And now they seeing the Christ in you, the hope of glory.

  SPEAKER_01: And they're saying something's different, something has changed in you.

  SPEAKER_01: Then you can invite them to church because they knew how you were before.

  SPEAKER_01: I had folk look at me, man, and they looked at me and said, if God saves you, I know He can save me.

  SPEAKER_01: Because, amen, when you're real, amen, and God sees the change and the difference in your life, he'll do something.

  SPEAKER_01: And I remember one day I come to work, and uh, I've been working on her, boy.

  SPEAKER_01: I think she had a legion on her, but she was a tough one.

  SPEAKER_01: And one day I come to work, I remember it.

  SPEAKER_01: And I sat down and joined her work, she was over on the corner working, and she said, Um, what church you say you go to now?

  SPEAKER_01: I think I ran outside and jumped in the truck and spoke in tongues.

  SPEAKER_01: And then she started coming to church.

  SPEAKER_01: I baptized her in the name of Jesus Christ.

  SPEAKER_01: And then she came back here and got the Holy Ghost in the name of the Lord.

  SPEAKER_01: We want to be a light to them that sit in darkness.

  SPEAKER_01: Yes, we are ambassadors of Christ.

  SPEAKER_01: But I've had tougher ones.

  SPEAKER_01: You gotta let your light shine before men.

  SPEAKER_01: That they might see the Lord's good works and glorify the Father who's in heaven.

  SPEAKER_01: So he says, um, but doing the will of God from the heart, uh, with good uh will, doing service as of the Lord and not unto men.

  SPEAKER_01: Knowing this, verse 8, brother Mike, that whatsoever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free, whether he be a boss or a worker.

  SPEAKER_01: And you masters, do the same thing unto them for bearing threatening, knowing that your master also is in heaven.

  SPEAKER_01: Just because you're in charge, don't just make sure you just treat people in any kind way.

  SPEAKER_01: I remember one time I went to my boss, and uh uh I was working over there where uh me and Chanel was working, and they called me up.

  SPEAKER_01: Nah, they're doing these old jobs, and uh they work you like a dog, and when it comes time for a raise, uh they give you what give you a little bit old money.

  SPEAKER_01: And uh I think uh I was looking for maybe like a two-dollar raise.

  SPEAKER_01: And uh I got up there in his office and he said, uh, well, you're doing a great job, and you're doing good, and uh, we want to offer you a dollar.

  SPEAKER_01: And I stood there in shock.

  SPEAKER_01: And all kind of stuff was running through my mind what I could tell him.

  SPEAKER_01: Y'all know what I'm saying?

  SPEAKER_01: I was really fighting the devils that day.

  SPEAKER_01: And the devil said, You ought to tell him, and I stood there in shock.

  SPEAKER_01: And then I said to him, I said, Well, the work that I do, I do it as glorious unto the Lord and not unto man.

  SPEAKER_01: Now, let me ask you a question.

  SPEAKER_01: Do you think it's fair?

  SPEAKER_01: If you think it's fair that I get a dollar only, then I'll accept the offer.

  SPEAKER_01: But do you think with all the work that I do that that's fair?

  SPEAKER_01: And I saw his whole face change.

  SPEAKER_01: He was convicted.

  SPEAKER_01: I saw it on his face.

  SPEAKER_01: And he was convicted.

  SPEAKER_01: And he looked sad.

  SPEAKER_01: He said, you know what?

  SPEAKER_01: He said, I'm gonna make sure you get two dollars.

  SPEAKER_01: Now, if I had gone off and said what was in my mind to tell him, I'd probably have been fired.

  SPEAKER_01: But just because you're over somebody or you in charge or you're in a leadership role or position, don't mean you gotta treat people like dirt and anything and say anything to folk.

  SPEAKER_01: You gotta know how to talk to folk, know how to treat folk.

  SPEAKER_01: People will follow people who know how to talk to people.

  SPEAKER_01: I seen God take positions from people and give it to the third person they're talking about.

  SPEAKER_01: I seen the Lord do it.

  SPEAKER_01: So then he says to them, he comes up with the word brother Mike, finally.

  SPEAKER_01: So I want you to see what he was dealing with, the aspects in the church: family, job, children, the father, learn how to treat one another.
