- 0:05Speaker 1: Drama, Darling Drama, Darling Drama, Darling.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hello, everybody, welcome in Darlings. Today we are talking Southern Charm.
- 0:26Speaker 2: The premiere Okay with me today is the incredible Gibson
- 0:30Speaker 2: John's Gibson.
- 0:32Speaker 3: How are you welcome in?
- 0:34Speaker 4: I am so good, Amy. It's been way too long
- 0:36Speaker 4: since we've done this. Honestly, we've done this in the past,
- 0:39Speaker 4: but it's it's I don't even want to check back
- 0:41Speaker 4: to see how long it's been, so.
- 0:43Speaker 2: We're not going to check. We're just gonna get on
- 0:45Speaker 2: the right foot and do it. I have to play
- 0:48Speaker 2: a little welcome in for you. That is something that's
- 0:52Speaker 2: taking the world by storm. You live in Where do
- 0:55Speaker 2: you live? Are you in New York City?
- 0:57Speaker 4: I live in New York.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, So I would imagine that some of the places
- 1:02Speaker 2: that you're going to as a consumer, as a customer,
- 1:06Speaker 2: they're welcoming you in quite often in New York?
- 1:08Speaker 4: Are they They're welcoming me in?
- 1:10Speaker 3: Okay? But have you noticed for real them saying that phrase?
- 1:14Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Is that not crazy that every all of a sudden
- 1:18Speaker 2: over the last year they've been doing that.
- 1:20Speaker 4: It's just crazy how these things just materializing. Sean and thank.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You for confirming that, because that's just been an anomaly
- 1:29Speaker 2: that I've picked up on over the course of last year.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And I started mentioning it on the show and people
- 1:33Speaker 2: were like, they didn't know what I was talking about,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, you will. It will find
- 1:38Speaker 2: its way to you, and then you're never going to
- 1:39Speaker 2: be able to unhear it again.
- 1:41Speaker 4: So exactly, you'll never stop noticing it. You'll never stop noticing.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So Gibson John's I am so happy to be able
- 1:48Speaker 2: to talk about you and all your credits because you
- 1:50Speaker 2: have an amazing podcast. It's called Gabbing with Gibb. And
- 1:56Speaker 2: let's talk about how successful it has been. You have
- 1:59Speaker 2: really skyrocketed because you started this because you were doing
- 2:03Speaker 2: another podcast before and then you branched off and began
- 2:07Speaker 2: this one. So tell me what your journey was from
- 2:10Speaker 2: the other one to this one. When when you started
- 2:12Speaker 2: this one?
- 2:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so last year. So for three and a half years,
- 2:16Speaker 4: I hosted a show for Yahoo. Basically I think that
- 2:18Speaker 4: that's the show that you were on. I think that's
- 2:19Speaker 4: when we did something and you know, it was great,
- 2:22Speaker 4: but I didn't have any control. I didn't own it
- 2:24Speaker 4: or whatever, and Basically I realized, I know they can
- 2:27Speaker 4: make any decisions about my show, and I had to
- 2:29Speaker 4: go along with it. So I started gabbing with Gibb
- 2:32Speaker 4: on the side of my corporate media job, and then
- 2:34Speaker 4: a month later I got laid off. And so now
- 2:37Speaker 4: this is my full time situation that has been all year.
- 2:41Speaker 4: So and as I told you, I've been doing some
- 2:42Speaker 4: like side writing and stuff, but the podcast is the
- 2:45Speaker 4: main gig.
- 2:45Speaker 3: And yeah, you made it your Max pushed off.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I got pushed off the deep end. And it's
- 2:50Speaker 4: been really nice, and just the support for everybody has
- 2:52Speaker 4: been great and it's fun.
- 2:54Speaker 2: As you know, it's really and you own your own ip.
- 2:56Speaker 2: You're completely on your own, which I feel the same
- 2:59Speaker 2: way about my situation as well leaving serious and so
- 3:02Speaker 2: it really is freeing and that you have that control
- 3:05Speaker 2: and you are able to grow and build in your
- 3:08Speaker 2: own way and you have control over that, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and and whatever comes with that.
- 3:13Speaker 4: God. Yeah, And like you know, I always say, it's
- 3:16Speaker 4: like I do two episodes a week, but like sometimes
- 3:18Speaker 4: I feel like doing three or four, I'll do that
- 3:20Speaker 4: or if I like it, just you can do whatever
- 3:22Speaker 4: you want, and like it's just it's whatever sort of
- 3:24Speaker 4: wherever the wind blows me. I'm just kind of going
- 3:26Speaker 4: to follow that. It's hard because there's no roadmap, you know,
- 3:29Speaker 4: there's no like, Okay, what does this look like in
- 3:31Speaker 4: X amount of time? But like you know, as you know,
- 3:33Speaker 4: like you just have to have faith that it's going
- 3:35Speaker 4: to work out. And like, I think that the cream
- 3:37Speaker 4: rises to the top, and I think that you're obviously
- 3:39Speaker 4: the cream of the crop when it comes to this
- 3:41Speaker 4: sort of ecosystem around Bravo. And I'm so appreciative of
- 3:44Speaker 4: the support that you've given me and like you are,
- 3:47Speaker 4: sir no.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Amy No Gibby, Well, yeah, you have a lot of Yeah. Well,
- 3:58Speaker 2: and I think too, there's there's so many podcasts out there,
- 4:01Speaker 2: and it's really nice that there is a community of
- 4:04Speaker 2: people that we know that are so supportive and like
- 4:07Speaker 2: you can kind of cross.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Streams with them.
- 4:09Speaker 2: But also what I love about your podcast is that
- 4:13Speaker 2: you have tons of interviews and you talk. You've got
- 4:17Speaker 2: so many connections with people. So tell me a little
- 4:20Speaker 2: bit about some of the maybe the go to episodes
- 4:23Speaker 2: from this year that maybe you can direct people to
- 4:25Speaker 2: listen to, or some that stood out to you.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I mean, if we're thinking about recently with
- 4:30Speaker 4: Southern Charm, I just had Nita on, so oh yeah.
- 4:34Speaker 4: And then I also like, and I don't know about you,
- 4:36Speaker 4: and maybe we can get into this later, but like
- 4:38Speaker 4: I felt really strongly that I did not understand why
- 4:40Speaker 4: Olivia was not asked back to Southern Charm after last season.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I did not understand that that decision at all. And
- 4:46Speaker 4: I've been very vocal about that. And I actually had
- 4:48Speaker 4: Olivia on. I just recorded with her and that's going
- 4:50Speaker 4: to come out on Friday, talking about everything. So yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 4: I think that like there's this balance, and as you know,
- 4:58Speaker 4: there's this balance of like talking to the people and
- 5:03Speaker 4: talking about the people. Yes, and you know, I I
- 5:08Speaker 4: think if like if either of us was like more
- 5:10Speaker 4: mean spirited about it, then like that wouldn't really work.
- 5:12Speaker 4: So but it's a fine line. Still. Yeah, I tried
- 5:16Speaker 4: to skate, but yeah, I've had a lot of people
- 5:18Speaker 4: on this year. It's but I actually, you know, I
- 5:22Speaker 4: like the interviews, but I kind of have more fun
- 5:23Speaker 4: just talking about it, you know. It's yeah, yeah, it's
- 5:26Speaker 4: a little I mean.
- 5:28Speaker 2: That's how I feel. Like, Yeah, even when I was
- 5:30Speaker 2: un serious, I was like I don't want to talk
- 5:32Speaker 2: to Like I don't want to And Andy even told
- 5:34Speaker 2: me one time because something happened, something happened with somebody
- 5:38Speaker 2: and I don't remember what it was, and he was like,
- 5:40Speaker 2: I've told you, I don't think that you were going
- 5:43Speaker 2: to be able to have these relationships with the housewives
- 5:46Speaker 2: with what you do. And I was like, I know,
- 5:47Speaker 2: you told me that, and he's like, you don't have
- 5:50Speaker 2: to talk to them, you know, which was so amazing
- 5:53Speaker 2: that he gave me that nonstructuration.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like I think that, like I like doing it,
- 6:00Speaker 4: and I think that I can continue doing that. But
- 6:02Speaker 4: I also and I also I think part of that
- 6:05Speaker 4: is having faith that like the Bravo celebrities, most of
- 6:08Speaker 4: them do understand that this comes with the territory. It's like, yeah,
- 6:12Speaker 4: the commentating of the shows and the unpacking and the
- 6:15Speaker 4: recapping and all of this we do that it helps
- 6:18Speaker 4: lift the shows up, it helps promote the shows, It
- 6:20Speaker 4: helps people be really plugged in, and so like you
- 6:23Speaker 4: got to have you know, I hate I hate, like
- 6:26Speaker 4: you know, saying that, like you know, it's part of
- 6:27Speaker 4: the gig, but it kind of is, and you have
- 6:29Speaker 4: to people have to have sick skins and if they don't,
- 6:31Speaker 4: and some of them don't, I'm sure even even message
- 6:34Speaker 4: right people sure over the years who like hear what
- 6:37Speaker 4: you say about them, and it's like, you know that,
- 6:40Speaker 4: I don't know if those people are cut out for this.
- 6:42Speaker 2: To be honest, But you know what, you make a
- 6:44Speaker 2: great point in that over the years, because I've found
- 6:46Speaker 2: that to be the case, like more with the ogs
- 6:48Speaker 2: people who were originally you know, when they were earlier
- 6:52Speaker 2: in the early days of Bravo, whereas now it seems
- 6:56Speaker 2: like over the past I would maybe five years, the
- 7:00Speaker 2: housewives or bravoleberties, they know just like what you're saying.
- 7:04Speaker 2: They know that comes with the gig and they have
- 7:06Speaker 2: to have a little bit more of a thick skin,
- 7:08Speaker 2: and they kind of get it. So I don't really
- 7:11Speaker 2: worry about the new people or anyone within the last
- 7:14Speaker 2: five years. I typically don't. It's the older it's the
- 7:17Speaker 2: old guard that they are more sensitive, and I think
- 7:21Speaker 2: they have kind of a right to be, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 2: they've established themselves. Yeah, so I can understand them being
- 7:27Speaker 2: like a little eh.
- 7:28Speaker 3: No, that's not cool with me.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Of the housewives, just the housewives. No, not just bravolebrities,
- 7:35Speaker 2: but of the housewives, who do you feel like, is
- 7:38Speaker 2: your go to housewife that you are actually kind of
- 7:41Speaker 2: friends with, that you can pile up with it where
- 7:43Speaker 2: those boundaries are like you don't have to worry about that,
- 7:46Speaker 2: where you kind of put the boundaries down.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah, if you have someone like.
- 7:49Speaker 4: When that comes to mind for me as Margaret Joseph's,
- 7:52Speaker 4: oh my.
- 7:52Speaker 3: God, that's amazing, Yes, I'd love.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Her because Margaret so back in the day, like literally
- 7:58Speaker 4: eight or nine years ago, when I really first started
- 8:00Speaker 4: being in this like entertainment news space, I did a
- 8:02Speaker 4: lot of interviews that were just sort of like written
- 8:04Speaker 4: up for for AOL at the time. That's where I worked.
- 8:07Speaker 4: And Margaret that was her first season of Jersey when
- 8:11Speaker 4: I started that job, and so I did a phone
- 8:15Speaker 4: interview with her. Well, I talked because I didn't I
- 8:18Speaker 4: was saying yes to everything even though nobody knew who
- 8:20Speaker 4: Margaret was, And so I acted on that. Whenever I
- 8:24Speaker 4: talked to people really early in their time on the shows,
- 8:27Speaker 4: they always remember and they appreciate that, or when nobody
- 8:31Speaker 4: really cared about them, just not even to be shady.
- 8:33Speaker 4: It's like nobody knows who they are. And so you know,
- 8:36Speaker 4: that's that's Margaret, that's some of the Potomac ladies. That's
- 8:39Speaker 4: it was Dallas back in the day. Like, So Margaret
- 8:42Speaker 4: is somebody who I think I've talked to her almost
- 8:44Speaker 4: every year since then, and she just to me is
- 8:48Speaker 4: a real person and she cuts to the bullshit. I've
- 8:51Speaker 4: been on her podcast before and she'll whenever you see
- 8:53Speaker 4: her in person, she like she'll give you a little tea,
- 8:56Speaker 4: you know, She'll she'll drop a little something something for
- 8:58Speaker 4: you and like and it's great, and she's not doing
- 9:03Speaker 4: it for you to like get it out there. She's
- 9:04Speaker 4: just doing that because like she's she's a she's a
- 9:06Speaker 4: girl's girl. She's a real one. Yeah, so Margaret's probably
- 9:09Speaker 4: up there in terms of that.
- 9:11Speaker 2: That's a great pick, a really really good pick. Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I would even say, I mean I don't even talk
- 9:16Speaker 2: to Margaret very often at all, but I would put
- 9:18Speaker 2: her in that category as someone that I would put
- 9:22Speaker 2: her in that category. And Shannon, even Shannon, like Shannon,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I feel like yeah, because again, like from the beginning,
- 9:29Speaker 2: you know, I feel like we've just been through the gamut.
- 9:33Speaker 3: On parallel in parallel ways, parallel path not exact, not exact.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Paths at all, but like, so I'm just so excited
- 9:42Speaker 2: for you because when you started gabbing with Gibb, how
- 9:46Speaker 2: long ago was that?
- 9:47Speaker 3: So did you celebrate a year yet or has even
- 9:49Speaker 3: been a year?
- 9:49Speaker 4: That was a year? That was a year?
- 9:51Speaker 3: It was? It was.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I wanted to launch it right before Bravocon last year
- 9:54Speaker 4: in Vegas because I figure, like I wanted to talk
- 9:56Speaker 4: about it when I was there. I'm really so, I
- 9:58Speaker 4: think I launched it a week before My first interview
- 10:01Speaker 4: was Larsa Pippen was amazing.
- 10:04Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Yeah, And that part of it is, honestly that some
- 10:09Speaker 4: of the people at Bravo have been really really supportive
- 10:11Speaker 4: and really, you know, when you start a show, you
- 10:13Speaker 4: have no listenership, you have nothing to you know, you
- 10:16Speaker 4: have a track recker from other stuff, but like you're
- 10:18Speaker 4: starting from scratch, and so people have just been really
- 10:21Speaker 4: you know, people having faith in me in the show,
- 10:23Speaker 4: and they've been really it's been really great and really
- 10:27Speaker 4: like you know, affirming, I think to have the support
- 10:30Speaker 4: just from from day one, so you know, it's it's
- 10:33Speaker 4: a hustle, amy you know.
- 10:34Speaker 1: You know.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a hustle, and I think it's a testament
- 10:37Speaker 2: to it's very relatable, like you know, people who listen
- 10:40Speaker 2: to my show. So there are so many entrepreneurs, there
- 10:42Speaker 2: are so many artists, There are so many just like
- 10:44Speaker 2: so many people who do have like that nine to
- 10:46Speaker 2: five job that have to put in because it times
- 10:49Speaker 2: have changed, you know what I mean.
- 10:50Speaker 3: It's not like.
- 10:51Speaker 2: You you go to a job and you're there for
- 10:53Speaker 2: twenty five years anymore, you know, for the insurance and
- 10:56Speaker 2: like you're getting that gold watch. People switch careers, people
- 10:59Speaker 2: do different things. You have to People are pivoting left
- 11:02Speaker 2: and right. I get messages all the time being like
- 11:03Speaker 2: I want to do this. Do you have any advice
- 11:05Speaker 2: from you? First of all, I don't know because I'm not,
- 11:08Speaker 2: you know, an entrepreneur, But in many ways I did,
- 11:11Speaker 2: you know, we build our own things.
- 11:12Speaker 4: So it is you started a business.
- 11:15Speaker 2: It's empowering. So well, let's shift gears and get into
- 11:21Speaker 2: southern charm.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Let's do a little hobbitdat. Oh you got to hear this.
- 11:25Speaker 2: This is this is Luanne Drama Darling saying drama Darling.
- 11:32Speaker 2: So wow, boy, when you start watching this, you're like
- 11:36Speaker 2: I miss I miss this.
- 11:38Speaker 3: It's just a seasoning that we don't get every.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Day that's so specific to that Bravo stew that I
- 11:47Speaker 2: absolutely love. And so to get familiar with these people
- 11:51Speaker 2: again and seeing like a new person and JT coming
- 11:56Speaker 2: back bomb Delivia isn't there. Totally agree. I can't wait
- 12:00Speaker 2: to listen to your interview on that. I'd love to
- 12:02Speaker 2: hear what she said, because I remember when that came out.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I was like, that's so stupid.
- 12:06Speaker 4: It made no sense, It made no sense, you know,
- 12:09Speaker 4: I agree. I think that you know, she was told
- 12:13Speaker 4: that it was because she had this boyfriend in Texas.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Her parents had moved to Texas, she was spending some
- 12:18Speaker 4: time there, and they just assumed that she had moved
- 12:20Speaker 4: on in her life. But I'm like, Madison had her
- 12:24Speaker 4: boyfriend in California first, very for a long time, before
- 12:27Speaker 4: they even they got engaged, before you even moved to Charleston. Yeah,
- 12:30Speaker 4: I think it's you know, Olivia thinks, and I kind
- 12:32Speaker 4: of agree with her that the real reason is because
- 12:34Speaker 4: she was no longer single and so, you know, kind
- 12:37Speaker 4: of a core aspect of this show. And this has
- 12:40Speaker 4: happened on Summer House before too a core aspect of
- 12:43Speaker 4: these younger shows is people looking up and people you know,
- 12:46Speaker 4: the singles, like really kind of having that drama. And
- 12:49Speaker 4: so if you have you know, Olivia and Madison who
- 12:52Speaker 4: are coupled up, you gotta have. They had to throw
- 12:55Speaker 4: these two new women into it that we'll talk about,
- 12:57Speaker 4: like to kind of fill that role, and so I
- 12:59Speaker 4: think that that's kind of what happened to her unfortunately.
- 13:01Speaker 2: So but with Taylor, she's literally dating a guy whose
- 13:05Speaker 2: name is a Disney character. She's dating guest on how
- 13:09Speaker 2: did this happen? And then she's like talking to Shep
- 13:13Speaker 2: and doesn't want to engage with him at all, And
- 13:16Speaker 2: I'm like, then what are.
- 13:17Speaker 3: You going to be doing here? You know, That's where
- 13:19Speaker 3: I'm like, well, what's the point.
- 13:21Speaker 4: I'm not convinced by Taylor necessarily, and not even like
- 13:25Speaker 4: a does in a way that's like is she built
- 13:27Speaker 4: for this? You know? She sort of like he didn't
- 13:29Speaker 4: marry into it, but she's sort of like dated into
- 13:31Speaker 4: this via chef. Okay, I don't know.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 13:35Speaker 4: She's not the most she's very she seems kind of fragile,
- 13:38Speaker 4: and maybe that's why she makes for good TV because
- 13:40Speaker 4: it's sort of like it's kind of like, well, he's
- 13:42Speaker 4: going to be great.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Last season it was amazing, but like, yeah, it was amazing.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Ushered in by Shep or grandfather did in and literally
- 13:50Speaker 2: like her grandfather with the age difference, but like he
- 13:54Speaker 2: clearly I love though with Shep, he does support her
- 13:57Speaker 2: being on the show. He very much seems like, you know,
- 14:01Speaker 2: I'm this is your thing. I just here and I
- 14:04Speaker 2: like that. I like that his hands off and he's
- 14:06Speaker 2: like not going to start drama with her at least
- 14:08Speaker 2: at this point as far as I know.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's Chef is such an interesting character to
- 14:12Speaker 4: me because the idea of the idea of him, like
- 14:15Speaker 4: without watching I'm like, yeah, I'm good. I'm like I'm
- 14:18Speaker 4: really good, Like like you're like too old to be
- 14:21Speaker 4: doing this, like you haven't You're You're the eternal Peter Pan.
- 14:25Speaker 4: But then when you watch him, especially like before the
- 14:27Speaker 4: season really cooks and he sort of puts his steps
- 14:30Speaker 4: in it, and at some point, inevitably right at the beginning,
- 14:34Speaker 4: he he does have this sort of teddy bear quality
- 14:37Speaker 4: that you sort of want to root for him and
- 14:39Speaker 4: you sort of want to believe that he is changing
- 14:41Speaker 4: this time for good and you know, and I know,
- 14:44Speaker 4: but it's like, but the thinking about him before the season,
- 14:48Speaker 4: I was like.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Chef, I know, I know, well, like thinking back, did
- 14:53Speaker 2: you ever see him in action at Bravo Khan being
- 14:55Speaker 2: completely blackout drunk?
- 14:56Speaker 3: Did you have eyes on that? I did not.
- 14:59Speaker 4: I I went to their panel, which was a whole
- 15:01Speaker 4: other story, but I don't he didn't see him blackout
- 15:03Speaker 4: drunk at that.
- 15:04Speaker 2: But did you see that clip they played? Because that
- 15:06Speaker 2: was that the panel you were at? Because when they
- 15:08Speaker 2: were like Craig's the clip again, well, Craig was like,
- 15:12Speaker 2: we show up in the panel, he was black out drunk,
- 15:15Speaker 2: and they showed him like look at him and cheves
- 15:17Speaker 2: like you know, he like falls.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Into the chair, and I'm like, I guess, I guess
- 15:21Speaker 4: that probably was the right panel. But apparently like, yeah,
- 15:24Speaker 4: I think that it was more like he got didn't
- 15:26Speaker 4: you like get kicked out of a casino or.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Didn't said some horrible things to the dealer?
- 15:31Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, so like didn't have eyes on that is,
- 15:33Speaker 4: I wasn't out.
- 15:35Speaker 2: But you were at that panel and he wasn't as
- 15:37Speaker 2: obvious as Craig says.
- 15:38Speaker 3: It was all right, that's interesting.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Well, him just basically well he's got a new girlfriend apparently. No,
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that's awesome. He's he's pulling himself together. He
- 15:48Speaker 2: went and did ayahuasca, right, and then he said, it's
- 15:53Speaker 2: the equivalent of three days of intense. He did three days,
- 15:58Speaker 2: and that's the equivalent of like four years of therapy
- 16:01Speaker 2: or something along those lines.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I don't know the math, but sure, Jan right exactly,
- 16:10Speaker 4: that's exactly what that means. Yes, exactly.
- 16:12Speaker 2: And I love like they show him in the ocean
- 16:14Speaker 2: like floating around as if he's like an enlightened person.
- 16:18Speaker 2: But I mean when he does sit down with Austin
- 16:20Speaker 2: and Craig eventually, I mean, what did you think of
- 16:23Speaker 2: his his plea, Like, guys, this isn't friendship.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Come on, you know, Prince on principle, he is correct
- 16:31Speaker 4: in that, like, yeah, a friend does not ignore their
- 16:33Speaker 4: friends necessarily. But I'm obviously on team Craig and to
- 16:38Speaker 4: a lester except Austin in this case, it's like chef
- 16:41Speaker 4: acted a fool publicly. He you know, how many times
- 16:45Speaker 4: have we gone through this hamster wheel of him like
- 16:47Speaker 4: effing up saying he'll get better. He stopped drinking for
- 16:51Speaker 4: a little bit, and then we find out that, like
- 16:53Speaker 4: you know, he stopped drinking after Bravo Khan, he's really
- 16:55Speaker 4: you know, facing the consequences for his actions and trying
- 16:58Speaker 4: to write the ship. But then, like Craig says, you know,
- 17:01Speaker 4: you've had fairly dark Knights since then as well. You know,
- 17:06Speaker 4: Craig made sure to drop that though, because Craig knows, like,
- 17:09Speaker 4: it's not just that you's trying to be like, Okay,
- 17:12Speaker 4: I'm changing, but it's Craig's like no, but like.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Like it doesn't work like that.
- 17:17Speaker 2: It's like it's the Jack's or the James Kennedy experience
- 17:21Speaker 2: where they think I'm not drinking as much is gonna help,
- 17:25Speaker 2: which sure, I'm sure it changes your world like entirely,
- 17:30Speaker 2: but nowhere near that scratches the surface of the problem, unfortunately.
- 17:34Speaker 2: And now yeah, he's looking for them. It's just weird
- 17:37Speaker 2: to see them, like, Okay, now we need to make
- 17:39Speaker 2: up because we have to do this show together, which
- 17:43Speaker 2: is a good reason. So I mean, I here for
- 17:45Speaker 2: the for the journey, but I did kind of like
- 17:47Speaker 2: how Austin said, that's fair, you know, it's it's fair
- 17:50Speaker 2: of you to feel like we should have just said
- 17:53Speaker 2: we need to take a step back instead of just
- 17:55Speaker 2: full out ghosting you.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Totally. No, I think that that and that is where
- 17:59Speaker 4: like know Craig, Craig especially has shown so much maturity,
- 18:02Speaker 4: but like there are those moments where like the immaturity
- 18:05Speaker 4: jumps out a little bit and completely ghosting somebody like
- 18:08Speaker 4: Shep when again, you know they're gonna have a film
- 18:10Speaker 4: with him again. You know you're gonna have your that
- 18:12Speaker 4: association is never going away. So it's sort of like,
- 18:15Speaker 4: you know, I think sometimes and I believe Craig is
- 18:18Speaker 4: like totally on the Seffor trajectory and he's like changed
- 18:20Speaker 4: for the good. And Page has been such a good
- 18:22Speaker 4: influence on him, but he always has. He's always wanted
- 18:26Speaker 4: to like jump a few steps ahead really easily, you
- 18:29Speaker 4: know what I mean. He's always wanted to like skip
- 18:30Speaker 4: a couple of steps, I think, and that's kind of
- 18:32Speaker 4: always been the case with him, Craig.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, Craig, that's a really good point.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Interesting like with the sewing and and then being a lawyer,
- 18:40Speaker 4: like you know, you know what, I feel like we've
- 18:43Speaker 4: seen it every season from him, and that's you're like
- 18:45Speaker 4: A that's just that's just you.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Know, it's yeah, it's not necessarily a character flaw, but
- 18:50Speaker 2: I did I see what you're saying like that, there
- 18:53Speaker 2: is a bigger picture to that, and if you were
- 18:55Speaker 2: to like really go back, it's almost like, well, what
- 18:59Speaker 2: Shep would have said a long time ago and what
- 19:01Speaker 2: he said for many seasons, which is like you're trying
- 19:03Speaker 2: to compete with me, You're trying to be better than me.
- 19:05Speaker 2: And in many ways, it's like, I think Craig is
- 19:08Speaker 2: beyond that now because it's not that hard to be
- 19:10Speaker 2: better than Shep in many and certainly the ways that
- 19:13Speaker 2: he's laid out his life. But when Shep is in
- 19:15Speaker 2: his confessional and he's trying to list off all the
- 19:18Speaker 2: times where Craig has messed up, and I'm like, there
- 19:20Speaker 2: is no comparison, Like I don't even hear Craig's voice slurring,
- 19:24Speaker 2: and he's just mad.
- 19:26Speaker 4: He's just ir even in different pages, were in different books.
- 19:29Speaker 4: You know, it's completely like.
- 19:32Speaker 2: You got to back that up, baby, So well, I
- 19:36Speaker 2: kind of am interested to see what's going to happen
- 19:38Speaker 2: with JT and Vanita, and I know you had Venita
- 19:41Speaker 2: on your show, so in like, are they gonna end
- 19:45Speaker 2: up together?
- 19:45Speaker 3: I mean, are they?
- 19:46Speaker 4: They explore, they explore a relationship of some sort.
- 19:51Speaker 3: So what happened to her boy do?
- 19:52Speaker 4: I believe? So the boyfriend they broke up at the
- 19:55Speaker 4: very beginning of filming, I think, and she said that
- 19:58Speaker 4: he he was going on Broadway and she didn't want
- 20:01Speaker 4: to like hold him back by like have him like
- 20:04Speaker 4: by like making him like visit her all the time
- 20:05Speaker 4: in Charleston basically, and there it sounds like her and
- 20:07Speaker 4: this guy Manny who shoots a date we saw last
- 20:09Speaker 4: season they were like genuinely best friends who have known
- 20:12Speaker 4: each other for a very long time. So she would
- 20:15Speaker 4: just sort of like fly away, like go pursue this,
- 20:18Speaker 4: and like you know, the JT and Vanita thing. I'm
- 20:21Speaker 4: sort of like, I'm trying to decide how like authentic
- 20:24Speaker 4: that really is in terms of like, oh, like let's
- 20:26Speaker 4: explore this because it kind of feels front. So like yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 4: maybe maybe they got a few dms last season that
- 20:32Speaker 4: were like, oh my god, you guys should date, you know,
- 20:34Speaker 4: and that's sort of oh interesting. Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I questioned the authenticity only based on or just his
- 20:39Speaker 2: reckless behavior of like falling for somebody so quickly because
- 20:43Speaker 2: he was just in love with Taylor. He literally just
- 20:45Speaker 2: said I love you Taylor and then now literally so.
- 20:49Speaker 2: But he is a hothead, man, I mean you can tell.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I know certainly, like, but I'm very much here for
- 20:54Speaker 2: the canes.
- 20:55Speaker 4: That was the cane That was hilarious, and like, you
- 20:59Speaker 4: know what, ja, He's not like my favorite person, but right,
- 21:02Speaker 4: I appreciate him for this show because the show it's
- 21:07Speaker 4: always been sort of this boys club and it's still
- 21:10Speaker 4: sort of is. But he's this sort of like fiery
- 21:13Speaker 4: personality that has been able to exist on this show
- 21:15Speaker 4: and like plant his flag in the ground for even
- 21:17Speaker 4: if it's just for two seasons. Yeah, yeah, and without
- 21:21Speaker 4: being part of the Chef Craig and Austin contingent.
- 21:24Speaker 3: You know, yeah, that's a good point.
- 21:26Speaker 4: But he's like still you know, doing his thing.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Which that is extremely impressive.
- 21:32Speaker 4: But I appreciate it.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I was watching and I was like, Wow, he's such
- 21:35Speaker 2: a fascinating character.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I was like fascinating.
- 21:37Speaker 2: You know, I don't really like him, I don't really
- 21:39Speaker 2: hate him, but like I just kind of he's like
- 21:42Speaker 2: a cartoon character, you know that you just feel like
- 21:45Speaker 2: you want that grittiness, that energy just just kind of
- 21:48Speaker 2: like kind of rub you the wrong way here and there,
- 21:50Speaker 2: and then had these weird jokes hobbling out of the
- 21:54Speaker 2: gas station with all those canes and that ATV crash
- 21:57Speaker 2: and him having like a life or death situation and
- 21:59Speaker 2: ever and being like it was hardly that, but we
- 22:04Speaker 2: might as well just take a quick break here. Hey guys,

- 26:54Speaker 2: ever in my life. And so this is another layer
- 26:58Speaker 2: to why Southern Charm is on our television sets and
- 27:02Speaker 2: I just love this.
- 27:04Speaker 4: It's it's like I feel like once a season we
- 27:06Speaker 4: get the reminder that chef is old money, and it's
- 27:09Speaker 4: like old South money. It's like it's like once a
- 27:11Speaker 4: season we get that big reminder. It's like yeah, and
- 27:14Speaker 4: you know what, I'll take it, you know, And that's
- 27:18Speaker 4: it's it adds Yeah, you're right, and adds sort of
- 27:20Speaker 4: like heft to Southern charm.
- 27:22Speaker 1: You know.
- 27:22Speaker 4: It's like there's a lot done back here. Probably there is.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Was that his dad or no, who was that? Okay?
- 27:29Speaker 3: I couldn't figure out. I was like, did they say.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I thought it said dad, but then I was like,
- 27:33Speaker 2: he doesn't really seem like his dad.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Does he run the farm?
- 27:36Speaker 4: Like I don't know.
- 27:39Speaker 2: But the the Boykins, the Boykins, I mean, they go
- 27:43Speaker 2: way back, so I did. I did appreciate that, and
- 27:45Speaker 2: like the name the King George, the third name drop
- 27:48Speaker 2: and back the seventeen eighties.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Love loved it, loved it all.
- 27:54Speaker 2: So all right, let's talk about how I love Molly
- 27:59Speaker 2: this new model, two good vibes, so quirky as hell, funny.
- 28:05Speaker 4: I didn't watch America's Next Time Model, did you. I didn't.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I don't know her, not her season, so I don't
- 28:09Speaker 2: even know. I was like these credits, hello, I know.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can see you can see why, like
- 28:18Speaker 4: she is somebody who you know, the other guys on
- 28:21Speaker 4: Southern Charm have maybe have something with in the past.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Like she's like, she's such a catch, Like she's gorgeous,
- 28:27Speaker 4: she's funny, yeah, really cool and down to earth, like
- 28:30Speaker 4: sign me up. She seems like a good addition already, and.
- 28:33Speaker 2: She makes lamb chops. Well with Whitney, she was like,
- 28:36Speaker 2: oh God, just her. I was worried because so first
- 28:39Speaker 2: of all, it was like her and Craig that were
- 28:42Speaker 2: sexting over DMS, which I was like, Oh my god,
- 28:45Speaker 2: what's Page gonna save?
- 28:47Speaker 3: Who hasn't?
- 28:54Speaker 2: And I was thinking like, oh man, what is Page
- 28:57Speaker 2: gonna say about this? And then Craig pops up as
- 28:59Speaker 2: like Page thinks that's wha. I was like, God, I
- 29:01Speaker 2: love that woman.
- 29:02Speaker 3: She's great.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Yeah, she's the best, she's the best sport. She knows
- 29:06Speaker 4: what the gig is.
- 29:07Speaker 2: You know, it's amazing. She is so confident that it's amazing. Oh,
- 29:11Speaker 2: by the way, speaking of confidence, that joke when Molly
- 29:13Speaker 2: and Madison were talking about how like getting a man
- 29:17Speaker 2: these days would be, you know, She's like, I'm a
- 29:21Speaker 2: jealous I'm a psycho woman. I'm a psycho jealous woman
- 29:25Speaker 2: or something like that, and Madison said, I mean like yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 2: I'd put an air tag and be like swallow it.
- 29:31Speaker 3: I was like that hilarious.
- 29:34Speaker 4: And I'm like, she probably made her for a fiance
- 29:37Speaker 4: or her fionce husband. She probably made him do that.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Right, fance husband? Are they married yet? I don't even know. Yeah, yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 3: I think they did get married. I don't know. Yeah
- 29:45Speaker 3: they're married, yeah, I think yeah?
- 29:46Speaker 4: Right?
- 29:47Speaker 3: But yeah, I love Madison and Molly and so here
- 29:52Speaker 3: for it. I did.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I totally related to her saying she had gained like
- 29:57Speaker 2: forty five pounds and so she lost a lot of
- 29:59Speaker 2: her modeling jobs. I didn't relate with that bark because
- 30:02Speaker 2: I was never modeled. That's not what I'm saying.
- 30:04Speaker 3: I'm just saying.
- 30:05Speaker 2: When she said, people always ask her if she's gotten
- 30:08Speaker 2: a BBL, and she's like, no, I just gained Wait,
- 30:12Speaker 2: honest to god, Gibson, kid you not. When I gained like,
- 30:15Speaker 2: I don't know, twenty pounds, maybe twenty five over the
- 30:19Speaker 2: course of I don't know if it was pandemic, I'm
- 30:21Speaker 2: not sure at what point, And they're like, did you
- 30:22Speaker 2: get a BBL.
- 30:23Speaker 3: I'm like, no, I just gained weight. I am not.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I am not kidding you.
- 30:29Speaker 2: People genuinely thought I got surgery, and MJ specifically to
- 30:36Speaker 2: this day, does not. She thinks I'm actually lying. She
- 30:39Speaker 2: thinks I'm lying. I'm like, I'm not kidding you. And
- 30:43Speaker 2: by the way, I've lost weight since then, So I
- 30:45Speaker 2: can't wait to show her my ass so she could
- 30:47Speaker 2: be like, see, you know what.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Amy. In the words of Giselle Bryant, the word on
- 30:51Speaker 4: the street is that you're the word on the street.
- 30:54Speaker 3: But I'm like, thank you.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I also people talking, Yeah, it's a compliment, it's a
- 30:58Speaker 4: good kid.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I mean I took it as such, but it was
- 31:01Speaker 2: so funny. I'm like, no, no, So all right, So
- 31:05Speaker 2: then we talked about Molly we love her, and Okay,
- 31:09Speaker 2: the farm is amazing. They all talk about these dudes
- 31:12Speaker 2: talk about it. Oh Shep's vision that he had about
- 31:17Speaker 2: Austin and his sister, that moment that was I felt like,
- 31:22Speaker 2: at first, he goes, well, let me just get right
- 31:24Speaker 2: into it. I had a vision about you and your sister,
- 31:26Speaker 2: and I was like, I felt really triggered, or not triggered.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I just felt like, you can't just say that out
- 31:32Speaker 2: of the blue like that. I just felt really protective
- 31:35Speaker 2: or sad. And you see Austin's face.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I felt the same way. At first, I was
- 31:40Speaker 4: sort of like Shaffy someone like use his like late
- 31:43Speaker 4: sister to like connect with him and try to get
- 31:46Speaker 4: back in his good graces. And so at first I
- 31:48Speaker 4: was sort of like, like, let not go. Here's this
- 31:51Speaker 4: episode's been on for fifteen minutes so far, like let's yes.
- 31:56Speaker 4: But I felt as he continued talking about it that
- 31:59Speaker 4: it was just sort of of him just kind of
- 32:01Speaker 4: being really genuine and like I think that, yeah, did
- 32:03Speaker 4: have this even like you can do it from the thing,
- 32:06Speaker 4: but I actually thought that like it felt really Yeah,
- 32:09Speaker 4: it's kind of moved by it. Actually at the end
- 32:11Speaker 4: of that conversation.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I was too.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And I think what was so moving is that you
- 32:15Speaker 2: see it on Austin's face. It's all over his face.
- 32:18Speaker 2: You just when you wear your heart in your sleeve
- 32:21Speaker 2: like that, you connect with these people and you just think, gosh,
- 32:26Speaker 2: there's some serious pain there and you really can relate
- 32:29Speaker 2: and you understand. And I appreciated that Shep was calling
- 32:33Speaker 2: that out and not calling out but at least, you know,
- 32:36Speaker 2: maybe bringing.
- 32:37Speaker 4: That up reminding Yeah. And I think that like even
- 32:40Speaker 4: when they did that flashback clip of him, I remember
- 32:42Speaker 4: that scene. I never forget that scene about him telling
- 32:45Speaker 4: Chelsea back in like what it was that like season
- 32:47Speaker 4: whenever you joined, like four or five, whenever that was.
- 32:51Speaker 4: And like, first of all, like his voice is different,
- 32:54Speaker 4: he looks so much younger, and you're sort of like, wow,
- 32:57Speaker 4: like we know a lot about this guy, and you know,
- 33:00Speaker 4: he the first thing we think about when we think
- 33:02Speaker 4: of Austin as like fuck boy and this guy who
- 33:04Speaker 4: like is noncommittal in relationships and all these.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Things off his parents' money.
- 33:08Speaker 4: But there are so many things that go into the
- 33:11Speaker 4: why Austin is the way he is, and like we
- 33:13Speaker 4: know so much more about him than that sort of
- 33:16Speaker 4: party line about him, and like, yeah, I do appreciate
- 33:18Speaker 4: the reminders that, like we have gone deep with these people,
- 33:21Speaker 4: even though we sometimes forget that.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and he does acknowledge he's like my therapist brings
- 33:27Speaker 2: that up a lot. We keep coming back to that,
- 33:28Speaker 2: and I'm like, right, that's so tough, yeah, and pretty
- 33:33Speaker 2: amazing to have that scene kind of like roll out
- 33:37Speaker 2: of that and into a piece of comedy, which was
- 33:40Speaker 2: that he had a vision about Taylor in a nest
- 33:43Speaker 2: and like a bird and then she kept flying into
- 33:46Speaker 2: the walls and windows.
- 33:47Speaker 4: And liked have to do that route too, right.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Like, yes, you think she's a baby, you you know,
- 33:56Speaker 2: now she's on this show trying to fly on her own,
- 33:58Speaker 2: and maybe it's symbolic of how she won't back next season.
- 34:00Speaker 3: If she's flying into the wall, she can't hold her own,
- 34:03Speaker 3: just saying, and then Craig, then Craig in the other
- 34:09Speaker 3: room being like these fucking nutheads, you know, listening with
- 34:13Speaker 3: the cheese puffs, like the chicken beyond so good.
- 34:19Speaker 2: So the Carolina Cup, wait, is it the Carolina Cup
- 34:22Speaker 2: that they went to? Yeah, the Carolina Cup. They that
- 34:25Speaker 2: looked like a sweet thing to go to. And I
- 34:28Speaker 2: was like, kind of underwhelmed by their outfits, except like
- 34:32Speaker 2: Vanita and Leva, I feel like, turn it out. But
- 34:34Speaker 2: when Madison and Madison, Madison and Molly like went to
- 34:39Speaker 2: that store and the and Madison's like, I want to
- 34:42Speaker 2: be over the top, and it's like, you just got
- 34:44Speaker 2: a sun dress?
- 34:45Speaker 3: What the fuck happened?
- 34:47Speaker 4: Yeah? I need yeah exactly. It's like, you know, it's
- 34:50Speaker 4: not Real Housewives, so it's you know, the bars lower right.
- 34:54Speaker 3: But she did do the Pretty Woman, which.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Was exactly like we've seen Madison on a red carpet
- 35:01Speaker 4: over the past year. She can turn it out.
- 35:03Speaker 3: She can definitely turn it out.
- 35:04Speaker 4: You know, I would have liked a little more.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I would have liked more, but yes, I would have
- 35:08Speaker 2: liked I saw in the Pretty Woman, I'm like, no,
- 35:11Speaker 2: that's so on the nose, right, But she was making
- 35:15Speaker 2: jokes about it, and she was funny about it. Like,
- 35:19Speaker 2: she had some really good jokes this episode, and I
- 35:21Speaker 2: was like, you're hilarious.
- 35:23Speaker 4: I've always said Amy that, like, to me, Madison is
- 35:27Speaker 4: a big fish in a small pond on this show.
- 35:29Speaker 4: I think that Madison is like a different echelon of
- 35:32Speaker 4: reality star. You know, he is so fucking good. And
- 35:36Speaker 4: that's just watching her, watching her in the confessionals. But
- 35:39Speaker 4: also it's like her dynamic with Austin is it will
- 35:42Speaker 4: never not be electric. I know they both moved on
- 35:44Speaker 4: and they're not going to go back that route, but like.
- 35:47Speaker 3: No, they will.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I'm convinced there's something in there that is so magnetic
- 35:52Speaker 4: between them, and they give each other shit so much
- 35:54Speaker 4: and so well. I love seeing her spar with the guys,
- 35:58Speaker 4: like she could hold her own and bury them.
- 36:00Speaker 3: To be honest, yes, said I love her.
- 36:05Speaker 2: She I'm convinced that she and Austin will get back together.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I do wow and have a child. That's just what
- 36:13Speaker 2: I'm saying. I don't think she's going to stay with Brett.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I really don't. I just can't see.
- 36:19Speaker 4: You're like, you're like the human embodiment of Chef's ayahuasca trip,
- 36:22Speaker 4: just like the visions I have.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I do, whether I like them or not. Yeah, so
- 36:30Speaker 2: but that was fun at the Carolina Cup. And and
- 36:34Speaker 2: Molly was upset because like, I mean, here comes Patricia.
- 36:37Speaker 2: She's got like her picnic birkin in one hand and
- 36:41Speaker 2: like Whitney's twenty two year old girlfriend in the other.
- 36:45Speaker 3: And I'm like that checks out. I'm here everybody. And
- 36:50Speaker 3: then just.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Freaking JT giving her the cane. I get it, like
- 36:53Speaker 2: he wanted to include her, but yeah, that was a
- 36:55Speaker 2: bad move.
- 36:56Speaker 4: No read read the room, you know, understand the optics
- 36:59Speaker 4: of that. You know, like it's just not Pat's not
- 37:04Speaker 4: one of the one of the one of the gals
- 37:05Speaker 4: in that regard like she got she's got to be
- 37:08Speaker 4: treated differently. She's the queen different age bracket, the whole yeah,
- 37:11Speaker 4: whole thing, you know, likes going.
- 37:14Speaker 2: To come back to bite him, right, because doesn't he
- 37:16Speaker 2: call her a bitch?
- 37:17Speaker 3: That's what was in the trailer.
- 37:18Speaker 4: That's that's what Craig accuses him of saying when he
- 37:22Speaker 4: she kind of was like I reacted weirdly to it.
- 37:25Speaker 4: I think Craig says that JT walks away from that
- 37:27Speaker 4: and calls her a bit.
- 37:29Speaker 3: So, yeah, that's not going to be good.
- 37:32Speaker 2: You can't come no wonder he left the show. You
- 37:34Speaker 2: can't come back to the show and piss off Patricia.
- 37:36Speaker 4: No, absolutely not.
- 37:38Speaker 3: That's he does leave the show, right he quit.
- 37:40Speaker 4: He quit after filming.
- 37:42Speaker 3: But oh, he fully filmed the whole He.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Filmed the whole. This is actually the first time it's
- 37:48Speaker 4: ever happened. I think on Bravo he filmed the whole season,
- 37:50Speaker 4: and he was filming Confessionals because they do that later
- 37:53Speaker 4: on obviously, and then he quit midway through filming Confessionals.
- 37:57Speaker 4: And so my read on it is that like, because
- 37:59Speaker 4: you know the film their scenes, they film what they know.
- 38:02Speaker 4: But when you do the confessionals, the line of questioning
- 38:04Speaker 4: I think sort of hints that sort of where your
- 38:06Speaker 4: storyline might be going, or what other people have been
- 38:08Speaker 4: saying about you or things like that. I think my
- 38:11Speaker 4: read right now is that like he got it. He
- 38:14Speaker 4: was picking up a scent of like where how he's
- 38:16Speaker 4: going to be portrayed this season or what maybe more
- 38:18Speaker 4: of the drama he was involved than they didn't realize,
- 38:20Speaker 4: and he pulled the plug. I don't think it's gonna
- 38:23Speaker 4: be good for him. Yeah, it's good. It's drama Darling.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yes, wow, yeah, that makes so much sense.
- 38:30Speaker 4: And they all hate him, like they all do not
- 38:33Speaker 4: like him at all.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Madison like, yeah, that's a bomber.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Wow, Bethany Wow, I.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Mean yeah, he was such an idiot, like going up
- 38:43Speaker 2: to Austin last year at the end, I mean that
- 38:45Speaker 2: was so stupid. He's such a showman in that way.
- 38:48Speaker 4: He's such a showman. Yeah. It almost feels like he's
- 38:51Speaker 4: like operated, like he's like existed just outside of this
- 38:54Speaker 4: show in Charleston. It's like a very small town for
- 38:57Speaker 4: like eight years now. And then he's sort of like
- 39:00Speaker 4: tried to study what they did, yes and to the
- 39:06Speaker 4: to the cool to the cool kids group.
- 39:08Speaker 3: And he screwed it up.
- 39:09Speaker 4: He's still on the outside.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I did love, love love Rodrigo. So, Rodrigo and
- 39:16Speaker 2: and Tyler are there at the cup and Tyler is
- 39:19Speaker 2: like asking. Somebody's like, so are there many ponies to
- 39:21Speaker 2: pet here? Are there many ponies anywhere? And they're like no.
- 39:25Speaker 2: He's like, oh okay, like he was so chaous exactly,
- 39:33Speaker 2: and then Molly's like, I'm a macaroon whore.
- 39:39Speaker 3: I know. I was so I was so excited about that.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Taylor and shep had that awkward conversation and she obviously
- 39:46Speaker 2: blocked him her he she blocked him, yes, clearly. And
- 39:53Speaker 2: I love seeing Ryan and doctor Eddie, Patricia's good friend Ryan.
- 39:57Speaker 2: And here's the thing I love about Southern charm in
- 39:59Speaker 2: general is that they really pad the group.
- 40:02Speaker 3: They bring in a lot I was.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Thinking the same thing, right, I know, and and in
- 40:07Speaker 4: the same way, they bring in a lot of people,
- 40:09Speaker 4: but it feels like people who genuinely sort of have
- 40:11Speaker 4: again sort.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Of drama Darling, drama Darling. They're coming on my window. No,
- 40:19Speaker 3: it's fun. I love it.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It's like New York and it's finest. Hey, guys, get
- 40:24Speaker 2: the sounds of the season.
- 40:26Speaker 4: Wow, this Bilton soundboard over here.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Well, I mean it's not out of the ordinary to
- 40:32Speaker 2: have siren. Do you think that it's like you're building though, Yeah, I.
- 40:36Speaker 4: Think we're I think we're okay. The thing that I
- 40:39Speaker 4: love of the about Southern Charm Amy is like, I
- 40:41Speaker 4: feel like, you're right, they pad the cast, but it
- 40:43Speaker 4: feels like people who just genuinely exist, like in their group,
- 40:46Speaker 4: and it's like, yeah, it felt almost like Madison was like, oh,
- 40:49Speaker 4: let's invite Ryan and his husband on to like film
- 40:51Speaker 4: a little bit at the beginning and see how they stick.
- 40:53Speaker 4: And like, yeah, I love the idea that like between
- 40:55Speaker 4: Rodrigo and his husband or boyfriend and then Ryan and
- 40:58Speaker 4: his husband, Like we're gonna have some gay representation on
- 41:01Speaker 4: the show too.
- 41:02Speaker 2: And it's great, especially in the South. You know, it's
- 41:05Speaker 2: really nice and it's it's just awesome.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Yeah, Charles is such.
- 41:08Speaker 4: A modernizing you know, it's like slightly it's not in
- 41:13Speaker 4: a way that's I think a couple of seasons ago
- 41:15Speaker 4: they tried to do it like a really overt way
- 41:17Speaker 4: that felt kind of unnatural to the show. But they've
- 41:20Speaker 4: sort of smoothed that out a little bit, and like,
- 41:22Speaker 4: you know, we have two interracial gay couples that are
- 41:24Speaker 4: in the mix now, Like that's kind of cool.
- 41:26Speaker 2: It's great, and I think you're right, Like, and sometimes
- 41:29Speaker 2: I can't really fault casting or Bravo when they trip
- 41:33Speaker 2: over it not being authentic because they're trying and you
- 41:36Speaker 2: kind of have to start somewhere, so whenever it begins,
- 41:38Speaker 2: sometimes it's not going to be as authentic. So I'm
- 41:42Speaker 2: just glad that right now it's starting, we're starting to
- 41:44Speaker 2: get to a nice authenticity point.
- 41:46Speaker 3: It's great.
- 41:47Speaker 2: And as we grow in the Bravo sphere, it seems
- 41:51Speaker 2: like the shows continue to do that and evolve in
- 41:54Speaker 2: that way, which is which.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Is really good.
- 41:57Speaker 2: So is there anything else you want to say before
- 42:00Speaker 2: we wrap this up about Southern Charm? About the premiere, like,
- 42:03Speaker 2: did I miss anything?
- 42:05Speaker 4: No, I feel like we hit most of the beats.
- 42:07Speaker 4: I mean, I think it was like a I thought
- 42:09Speaker 4: it was like a good premiere. It wasn't like the
- 42:11Speaker 4: It wasn't the best premiere ever. But like I think
- 42:13Speaker 4: write that what you said at the top, which is
- 42:15Speaker 4: like Southern Charm is like this sort of itch that
- 42:17Speaker 4: you don't need, you don't realize you sort of need scratched,
- 42:20Speaker 4: you know. And they and they come back and it's like,
- 42:22Speaker 4: you know what, stuff has changed, but not that much
- 42:25Speaker 4: has changed. It's still kind of like the same show
- 42:26Speaker 4: that always was. And you know, and I was thinking
- 42:31Speaker 4: about this with last week's Vanda Pum Rules news, which
- 42:33Speaker 4: is like, you know, they had this like because they've
- 42:36Speaker 4: those shows, I feel like sort of came up right
- 42:38Speaker 4: at the same time, but they had sort of different
- 42:41Speaker 4: trajectories towards the end there Vander Pump Rules, like obviously
- 42:44Speaker 4: had that last few nothing was bigger on Bravo ever,
- 42:49Speaker 4: but like they couldn't follow it up and it was
- 42:50Speaker 4: just it kind of petered out after that. Yeah, And
- 42:53Speaker 4: I was thinking about Southern Charming relation to that and
- 42:56Speaker 4: how they're kind of still chugging along, and I was like,
- 42:58Speaker 4: you know what, it's actually kind of to not having
- 43:01Speaker 4: a big, kind of all encompassing scandal moment like that,
- 43:04Speaker 4: because like it was impossible for Random Rules to recover
- 43:07Speaker 4: from that. Meanwhile, Southern Charm is over here and like
- 43:10Speaker 4: it's been fewer seasons, but they're just going to keep
- 43:14Speaker 4: chalking along for years and years and years. I feel
- 43:16Speaker 4: like they can just keep this this move.
- 43:17Speaker 2: What you're saying is slow and steady wins the race,
- 43:20Speaker 2: you know, and when you blow something up. Yeah, that
- 43:22Speaker 2: is so wild. And I wonder if vander Pump Rules
- 43:25Speaker 2: didn't revolve around the restaurants, if they would have had
- 43:30Speaker 2: more of a chance to come back.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Do you think?
- 43:32Speaker 4: I know? I think that, like I think they could
- 43:34Speaker 4: have they could have like shift pivoted earlier.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 4: I always think that they could have made the show
- 43:39Speaker 4: more about because obviously the issue was that like none
- 43:42Speaker 4: of them worked there. They got rich, and they got famous,
- 43:45Speaker 4: and like their jobs were like being famous. I feel
- 43:48Speaker 4: like if they had pivoted three or four years ago
- 43:51Speaker 4: to making it more overly about that, it could have
- 43:53Speaker 4: sustained itself. But they refused to do that, and then
- 43:57Speaker 4: it just it was too late, too you know, too
- 44:00Speaker 4: late to yeah, to write the course.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Too little, too late.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Well exactly.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Two more lines that I love from Southern Charm was
- 44:09Speaker 2: what Rodrigo called j T. Willy Wonka coming out of
- 44:14Speaker 2: his house like the chocolate factory with the cane and
- 44:19Speaker 2: then when they go when he JT's got all the
- 44:22Speaker 2: canes and he gets in the van and and then
- 44:26Speaker 2: I think Madison said, you're you're cane influencer. You're cane influencer,
- 44:30Speaker 2: and then caine fluencer. And then I think Taylor is
- 44:35Speaker 2: the one who said you should start in only canes.
- 44:38Speaker 4: That was pretty good. That might be the funniest thing
- 44:41Speaker 4: Taylor's ever said.
- 44:42Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie that she can stick around for
- 44:44Speaker 2: a couple more episodes because that was a good line anyway.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Gibson John's I'm so excited that you're here. Please tell
- 44:53Speaker 2: the darlings where they can find you, and listen to
- 44:55Speaker 2: your podcast.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Yes, well, thank you for having me. I loved our chat,
- 44:59Speaker 4: and you're gonna be on my show in a couple
- 45:01Speaker 4: of weeks and so people can go listen to that
- 45:03Speaker 4: very soon. I think I think I told you I
- 45:05Speaker 4: want to talk about all the new editions to the Bravovers.
- 45:08Speaker 4: So many good ones, you.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Know, such a great idea, like let's just do it.
- 45:12Speaker 4: You know, there's been so many good people add into
- 45:15Speaker 4: our lives this year. But yeah, gabbing with GiB wherever
- 45:18Speaker 4: you get your podcasts at least two episodes a week,
- 45:21Speaker 4: sometimes interviews, sometimes discussions like this, and again Amy will
- 45:25Speaker 4: be on a couple of weeks, so that episode.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Yes, thank you so much.
- 45:30Speaker 2: This has been such a blast and thanks for listening.
- 45:34Speaker 2: You guys, have a great weekend.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Bye.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Drama Darling, Drama Darling
