- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. A couple of days ago, we were talking
- 0:08Speaker 1: about Alan Dershowitz and his refusal to appear before Congress. Well,
- 0:14Speaker 1: today we're going to talk a little bit more about
- 0:17Speaker 1: that refusal and why. According to this Harvard Crimson article,
- 0:23Speaker 1: his lawyers told him he couldn't appear and answer questions.
- 0:27Speaker 1: And I find that to be laughable at best, to
- 0:30Speaker 1: tell you the truth, considering how much shit Alan Dershowitz
- 0:33Speaker 1: has talked over the years. Come set the record straight, homie,
- 0:38Speaker 1: Go put yourself under oath. Let's see what's what? You
- 0:41Speaker 1: sure had a lot to say, Well, let's see it.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And of course, in typical Alan Dershowitz fashion, he did
- 0:47Speaker 1: all that yappen and now he's turned and tell So
- 0:52Speaker 1: today we have an article from the Harvard Crimson talking
- 0:55Speaker 1: about this topic and the headline Dershowitz told by attorneys
- 0:59Speaker 1: he can not legally testify on Epstein ties. I thought
- 1:03Speaker 1: that Alan Dershowitz was the greatest attorney in the history
- 1:06Speaker 1: of great attorneys. Isn't that what he tells anyone who's listening.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But he didn't know that he had no idea. Sure,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I'm buying that. This article was authored by Hugo Kyasin
- 1:16Speaker 1: and Elise A. Spenner. Harvard law professor Alan M. Dershowitz
- 1:22Speaker 1: was told by his attorneys that he cannot legally testify
- 1:25Speaker 1: before the House Oversight Committee on Monday, he said. Dershowitz
- 1:29Speaker 1: was scheduled to sit for an in person transcribed interview
- 1:32Speaker 1: on his ties to the convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein
- 1:36Speaker 1: as part of a month's long investigation into Epstein and
- 1:39Speaker 1: his associates. Dershowitz, a high profile defense attorney, helped negotiate
- 1:44Speaker 1: Epstein's controversial two thousand and eight plea deal, and look,
- 1:48Speaker 1: for me, I think that's the most critical part of this.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Now we know the allegations that have been made against
- 1:55Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz by Virginia. However, we also know that they
- 1:59Speaker 1: came to a settlement. So I think we should be
- 2:03Speaker 1: focusing on Alan Dershowitz's role in that two thousand and
- 2:07Speaker 1: eight NPA, And in my opinion, I think that NPA
- 2:12Speaker 1: is illegal. I think that there was a lot of
- 2:17Speaker 1: backroom wrangling. I think that there was a lot of
- 2:19Speaker 1: reaching out to justice, and I think that because of
- 2:23Speaker 1: who Alan Dershowitz is, who Ken Starr is, and who
- 2:26Speaker 1: the other lawyers were. They had those relationships already baked
- 2:29Speaker 1: in with Mukeesy and Felipe, so of course they just
- 2:33Speaker 1: went over Acosta's head and got things done with Main Justice.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And I think the contemporaneous emails and the documentation proves that.
- 2:46Speaker 1: But his attorney has now reversed course. A spokesperson for
- 2:49Speaker 1: the House Oversight Committee confirmed Friday, indicating to the committee
- 2:53Speaker 1: that Dershowitz would not be present for the interview. The
- 2:56Speaker 1: spokesperson said the committee had contacted dershowitz attorney to reschedule
- 3:00Speaker 1: the testimony. The move came as an about face for Dershowitz,
- 3:05Speaker 1: who has for months publicly expressed interest in testifying before
- 3:09Speaker 1: the House. Dershowitz even appealed directly to James Comer, who
- 3:13Speaker 1: chairs the Oversight Committee. Dershowitz said he remained eager to testify,
- 3:19Speaker 1: so eager that his lawyer has jumped in. Huh, well,
- 3:22Speaker 1: look on the advice of my lawyers. It's always some bullshit, right.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Nobody ever just wants to stand up and deal with
- 3:29Speaker 1: the consequences of their actions. Nobody wants to answer the
- 3:31Speaker 1: bill It's one thing to talk like you're tough. It's
- 3:34Speaker 1: a whole less other thing to hop into the octagon.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Comer formally requested Dershowitz sit for an interview last month
- 3:43Speaker 1: after a meeting with several Epstein's survivors and testimony from
- 3:46Speaker 1: Epstein's longtime assistant Leslie Groff. At the time, Dershowitz said
- 3:51Speaker 1: he would offer a documentation to the committee showing that
- 3:54Speaker 1: individuals with ties to Epstein should be evaluated case by case.
- 3:59Speaker 1: He said that the full story of Epstein's connections was
- 4:01Speaker 1: more nuanced and complex then it's been presented. Oh yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz, comes set the record straight, because you're a
- 4:08Speaker 1: reliable narrator. You have nothing to hide. You weren't involved
- 4:12Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein as far as the legal team. And furthermore,
- 4:17Speaker 1: you've already admitted you got a massage, right and I
- 4:20Speaker 1: know you kept your underwear on mister Tidy Whitey himself.
- 4:24Speaker 1: But this whole entire false narrative that Dershowitz has been
- 4:27Speaker 1: running when it comes to Epstein is just unbelievably stupid,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and he thinks that his I don't know, credibility, if
- 4:37Speaker 1: you'll call it that is gonna get people to believe them. Look,
- 4:40Speaker 1: the only people that are gonna believe him are the
- 4:42Speaker 1: people that already want to believe him. That's it. Nobody
- 4:48Speaker 1: that's nuanced, nobody that's looked into this, nobody that knows
- 4:51Speaker 1: the real story, believes that Dershowitz doesn't know more than
- 4:56Speaker 1: he's saying now. There are some entanglements, and there's some
- 5:00Speaker 1: complications considering he was a lawyer, and there's privilege. But
- 5:03Speaker 1: everything's privileged, every bit of information. Well maybe, Unfortunately we
- 5:10Speaker 1: won't know because his balls haven't dropped yet and he's
- 5:14Speaker 1: scared to appear before Congress. It's unclear what legal obligations
- 5:20Speaker 1: stand in the way of his testimony. Dershowitz attorneys did
- 5:23Speaker 1: not immediately respond to a request for comment. That's a
- 5:26Speaker 1: big tell for me, And it looks like they're running scared. Now.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Is that what's really happening? I don't know. We haven't
- 5:33Speaker 1: heard from Dershowitz or his team, but it's not looking good.
- 5:37Speaker 1: The optics of it are pretty bad. You're supposed to
- 5:42Speaker 1: appear before Congress on Monday, and on Friday you're calling
- 5:45Speaker 1: to say, ah, you know what, maybe instead of appearing
- 5:49Speaker 1: before Congress, I'll head back out to Martha's vineyard and
- 5:52Speaker 1: burrate some perogi vendors instead. Seems to be more your speed,
- 5:56Speaker 1: mister Dershowitz. The the Oversight Committee has her testimony from
- 6:02Speaker 1: several high profile figures with ties to Epstein since launching
- 6:05Speaker 1: its investigation last summer, including Microsoft co founder Bill Gates
- 6:10Speaker 1: and former US President Bill Clinton. And that all worked
- 6:13Speaker 1: out well, huh. We got a lot of information from them,
- 6:15Speaker 1: said nobody ever, and the morons on the GOP side
- 6:19Speaker 1: of the aisle, they fumbled the ball big time when
- 6:22Speaker 1: it comes to the Clinton interrogation. Nobody asked the right
- 6:25Speaker 1: questions and in fact made the Clintons look better than
- 6:28Speaker 1: even when they walked in. Now, those of us who
- 6:31Speaker 1: know the story, well, we know that that's not the case,
- 6:33Speaker 1: and that the Clintons lie through their teeth. The problem
- 6:37Speaker 1: is that the Committee and Congress has no teeth, so
- 6:42Speaker 1: they can't hold people accountable, and we've seen it time
- 6:45Speaker 1: and time again. Dershowitz is not the only Harvard affiliate
- 6:51Speaker 1: the Committee has expressed interest in speaking with Representative Robert Garcia,
- 6:55Speaker 1: the ranking Democrat, said he hoped to speak with former
- 6:58Speaker 1: university president Lauren H. Summers because of his decades long
- 7:02Speaker 1: friendship with Epstein. Mister Summers is someone that we as
- 7:07Speaker 1: a committee have not had the chance to speak with.
- 7:10Speaker 1: That would be or that's somebody we would like to
- 7:12Speaker 1: speak with, Garcia said in June. It seems that his
- 7:16Speaker 1: name continues to come up. Summers came up in Clinton's
- 7:19Speaker 1: February testimony, in which the former president said he was
- 7:23Speaker 1: introduced to Epstein by the former Treasury secretary after they
- 7:27Speaker 1: had left office and described the convicted child predator as
- 7:31Speaker 1: an information hungry person. Oh well, that explains at all,
- 7:35Speaker 1: mister information hungry hungry hippo over here. So I guess
- 7:38Speaker 1: we'll just hang out with them, you know, in our
- 7:40Speaker 1: pursuit of knowledge. I don't think we detest these people enough,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and that's because they're just a testable Everything about Alan
- 7:50Speaker 1: Dershowitz and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is questionable. Now,
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit here and tell you that
- 7:57Speaker 1: we have evidence of him doing anything else with Epstein.
- 8:01Speaker 1: There's been allegations, but those allegations have been walked back.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So we have to be mindful of the record. But
- 8:08Speaker 1: does that exonerate Alan Dershowitz from all of the other
- 8:12Speaker 1: allegations of ties to Jeffrey Epstein. I don't think it
- 8:15Speaker 1: does now. I don't know if there's anything that is criminal, right,
- 8:20Speaker 1: but I think reputationally and I think morally, Alan Dershowitz
- 8:25Speaker 1: was certainly in the wrong, and I think he knows that,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and he just doesn't care. He's one of those guys
- 8:33Speaker 1: that is so smug and he thinks he's smarter than
- 8:37Speaker 1: everybody else around him. So he's gonna just, you know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: continue on this path of saying whatever the fuck he
- 8:44Speaker 1: wants to say, when a lot of it just doesn't
- 8:48Speaker 1: have any basis in truth. Who asked Alan Dershowitz to
- 8:52Speaker 1: run around talking about Epstein and the intelligence world? Did
- 8:55Speaker 1: somebody ask him to be the spokesperson to go against
- 8:59Speaker 1: that messaging? Nobody asked him. He just inserts himself into
- 9:02Speaker 1: the conversation all the time, and then he gets mad
- 9:05Speaker 1: when people criticize him. Well, here's an idea, mister, I
- 9:10Speaker 1: kept my underpants on. Man up, step up to the
- 9:12Speaker 1: plate and do what you said you were going to do.
- 9:15Speaker 1: You're gonna give this testimony, You're gonna blow the doors
- 9:17Speaker 1: off of it. You're gonna set everything right. Meanwhile, you
- 9:22Speaker 1: never showed up, You canceled, you backed out, and like
- 9:25Speaker 1: the typical smarmy bastard you are, you're gonna blame the process.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You're gonna blame everybody else after you yourself stood on
- 9:34Speaker 1: those mountaintops and screamed like a lunatic about how you
- 9:38Speaker 1: want to set the record straight and about how everybody
- 9:40Speaker 1: else is a liar. While, mister Dershowitz, you had your chance,
- 9:44Speaker 1: you had your platform. What happened? Did your lawyers take
- 9:47Speaker 1: a look at what was going on and tell you
- 9:49Speaker 1: that you had exposure? Did they tell you that it's
- 9:52Speaker 1: probably not a good idea to go and run your
- 9:55Speaker 1: yap in front of Congress? Why'd you back out? Mister Dershowitz?
- 9:59Speaker 1: What happen? Because up until now there was a whole
- 10:05Speaker 1: lot of talk, I mean Connor McGregor levels of talk,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and then on the weight of the cage, Dershowitz blows
- 10:12Speaker 1: out his knee. Well, isn't that convenient? So look, I
- 10:16Speaker 1: hope that Congress stops messing around with Dershowitz and hits
- 10:19Speaker 1: him with that subpoena, because if anybody ever deserved one,
- 10:23Speaker 1: it's Alan I kept my underpants on Dershowitz. All the
- 10:27Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 10:31Speaker 1: the description box.
