Families in House District 117 rallied for a packed back-to-school fair on August 1st, where State Rep. Dr. Philip Cortez teamed up with the San Antonio Food Bank to hand out free backpacks and supplies—and much more. From low-cost vaccines at University Health to dental screenings from UT Health Science Center and free haircuts from Harlandale ISD’s Career & Technical Education Program, the event brought together 20 community partners and 10 sponsors to ensure kids are ready to learn.
