- 3:32Speaker 1: you for the super Chat, and I have to say
- 3:35Speaker 1: I love your picture, your profile picture kind of if
- 3:39Speaker 1: you remove the animal's face and if you put a
- 3:42Speaker 1: heart there, it looks like my tattoo. Lady and Gray
- 3:47Speaker 1: says that she's been looking at the merch goodies. So
- 3:51Speaker 1: many choices, so many choices. Hello sam Over on Facebook.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Oh guys, I gotta take a deep breath, because this
- 4:02Speaker 1: first case is a doozy. Okay. It is not just
- 4:06Speaker 1: a missing person case. It also includes an unsolved murder
- 4:12Speaker 1: and a guy I don't think I like very much.
- 4:15Speaker 1: But I don't have enough information to one hundred percent
- 4:18Speaker 1: say he's a POS. But I'm gonna say I got
- 4:21Speaker 1: a lot of red flags. Okay, So I'm gonna suggest
- 4:25Speaker 1: you buckle up because I have a lot to say today,
- 4:29Speaker 1: and you're all going nothing new, Terry. We're kind of
- 4:32Speaker 1: used to that, right, I know. It's okay, Now, sorry, guys,
- 4:41Speaker 1: this's this one's rough, Okay. In nineteen ninety two, sixteen
- 4:48Speaker 1: year old Rosa Delgado was living with her family in Hartford, Connecticut.
- 4:54Speaker 1: She was young, bright, and full of hope for her
- 4:57Speaker 1: future when she met thirty two year old Julio command Schow,
- 5:04Speaker 1: a uniformed officer with the Hartford Police Department. Now, Julio
- 5:09Speaker 1: often drove his patrol car past Rosa's building, flashing a
- 5:14Speaker 1: smile or striking up conversation, and it wasn't long before
- 5:19Speaker 1: their talks turned into something more, a relationship that would
- 5:24Speaker 1: change the course of Rosa's life forever. Okay, guys, did
- 5:28Speaker 1: you notice the ages? Okay? She was sixteen, he was
- 5:33Speaker 1: thirty two. Anybody noticed that red flag for me? Okay,
- 5:37Speaker 1: already a red flag. I don't know if anybody else
- 5:40Speaker 1: is having red flags. I've got red flags. Okay. Now,
- 5:45Speaker 1: Rosa soon discovered she was pregnant. On June seventh, nineteen
- 5:50Speaker 1: ninety three, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl
- 5:54Speaker 1: name Rosa Maria Commancho, but everyone called her Rosita, and guys,
- 6:00Speaker 1: she was the light of her young mother's life. The guys,
- 6:04Speaker 1: Rosa was just seventeen. She was a child herself. I
- 6:10Speaker 1: want to know right off the bat, Guys, I told
- 6:13Speaker 1: you I got a lot to say. How come a
- 6:17Speaker 1: thirty two year old police officer and a seventeen year
- 6:21Speaker 1: old having a child isn't a problem. Why was he
- 6:27Speaker 1: not removed from the force, Why wasn't CPS brought in.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I have so sorry.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I guess I got an edge. I have so many questions,
- 6:36Speaker 1: and I I said, I can't call him a POS
- 6:39Speaker 1: because I don't have all the facts, and I am
- 6:42Speaker 1: trying to remember these are my opinions. I think he's
- 6:46Speaker 1: a scumeback. He's thirty two, Okay, she's sevent too. Now.
- 6:51Speaker 1: She tried raising the child on her own, and when
- 6:55Speaker 1: her relationship with Julio fell apart, she moved in with
- 6:58Speaker 1: her sister and Tony for support. Now, the court ordered
- 7:03Speaker 1: Julio to pay one hundred and eighty eight dollars a
- 7:06Speaker 1: week in child support, but being the little piece of
- 7:10Speaker 1: work he is, he fought it every step of the way. Okay.
- 7:15Speaker 1: He already had three other children from previous relationships and
- 7:19Speaker 1: was financially supporting his current wife's kids, and Julio made
- 7:25Speaker 1: it clear he didn't want the responsibility of another child,
- 7:29Speaker 1: not even one that shared his name. Okay, guys, I lied,
- 7:37Speaker 1: I'm going to call him a pls. Okay, I was
- 7:39Speaker 1: going to try really hard not to. You're thirty two,
- 7:43Speaker 1: You are having relations with someone when she was sixteen.
- 7:47Speaker 1: You started, you know, having relations with her and I mean, look, okay,
- 7:55Speaker 1: look at this. She was a sweet, innocent thing. And
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm sorry. You're a police officer. You have power in
- 8:03Speaker 1: that relationship. Okay, you have power in that relationship. You
- 8:09Speaker 1: had fun, you made a child, but you didn't want
- 8:11Speaker 1: to support the child. You're not a good guy. Now. Thankfully,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Rosa's family surrounded her with love. Okay. They helped her
- 8:22Speaker 1: raise Rosita in a busy, laughter filled household, and by
- 8:27Speaker 1: nineteen ninety seven, Rosa had another daughter, Alicia, a sweet
- 8:31Speaker 1: baby girl who made Rosita a proud big sister. Okay.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Despite all of life's challenges, Rosa was doing her best. Okay,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and she loved her girls. Now. On October twenty fourth,
- 8:48Speaker 1: nineteen ninety seven, Rosa left her apartment around forty four
- 8:52Speaker 1: forty five pm with four year old Rosita to grab milk, diapers,
- 8:58Speaker 1: and a few candies from Jajs Groceries. Guys, it was
- 9:01Speaker 1: just a fleep few blocks away. She had left baby
- 9:05Speaker 1: Aisha in Antonia's care, promising, Hey, I'm going to run
- 9:09Speaker 1: down to the corner store grab some supplies. I'll be
- 9:13Speaker 1: right back. I'm going to take Rosita with me. Nice
- 9:15Speaker 1: little walk, right, guys. Rosa and Rosita never made it home. Okay,
- 9:24Speaker 1: And at first Antonia tried to stay calm. She's not
- 9:28Speaker 1: liked Terry. Okay, Terry would have been overly insane. Okay. Now,
- 9:34Speaker 1: she thought maybe they ran into a neighbor stopped to chat,
- 9:38Speaker 1: but as daylight faded, her worry turned into pure panic.
- 9:44Speaker 1: She called around to friends and family. No one had
- 9:48Speaker 1: seen Rosa or little Rosita. Then one of her sisters
- 9:53Speaker 1: mentioned something important. She had seen Rosa talking to Julio
- 9:59Speaker 1: outside his apartment on Carpenter Street, just a block away
- 10:04Speaker 1: from JJ's groceries. Hmmm, another red flag? Anyone anyone? Now?
- 10:12Speaker 1: It didn't seem strange at first, so Julio and Rosa
- 10:15Speaker 1: still spoke occasionally because of Rosita, but that short conversation
- 10:21Speaker 1: would become the last time anyone saw either Rosa or
- 10:27Speaker 1: Rosita alive. Anybody else got red flags? Anybody? Anybody? Okay? Now?
- 10:36Speaker 1: When Rosa still didn't return, and Tonia called Hartford Police
- 10:40Speaker 1: Department to follow missing person's report, but instead of immediate action,
- 10:46Speaker 1: she was met with silence. H Starting to make me
- 10:51Speaker 1: wonder if they are anything like Massachusetts, where a certain
- 11:02Speaker 1: trial just happened recently and there was a lot of
- 11:05Speaker 1: not so great police officers. I don't know the guys
- 11:08Speaker 1: days past then weeks, no interviews, no searches, no urgency okay.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Antonia later told the Hartford Current that for three weeks
- 11:22Speaker 1: they don't do nothing. They took the complaint and it
- 11:25Speaker 1: stayed in the computer. My niece and sister are missing.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Everybody in the department knows sho's Julio's daughter, but they
- 11:35Speaker 1: let nothing go outside the department because he's an officer. Guys,
- 11:42Speaker 1: wouldn't you think that if a police officers child and
- 11:47Speaker 1: the mother of his child went missing, that law enforcement
- 11:50Speaker 1: would kick their butt into overdrive. I mean, my brother
- 11:55Speaker 1: and I are not closed, but if I went missing
- 11:59Speaker 1: and my childwood missing, I think even my brother, you know,
- 12:04Speaker 1: the law enforcement would be like, oh, this is an
- 12:06Speaker 1: officer's family member. Shouldn't they kind of go to the
- 12:09Speaker 1: top of the list. I mean, I'm not saying they
- 12:12Speaker 1: get priority, but shouldn't you do a little extra? I mean,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I would think so. But guys, Antonia was right. It
- 12:21Speaker 1: wasn't until November nineteenth, nearly a month later, that police
- 12:27Speaker 1: finally question Julio command show. A month guys, by then,
- 12:34Speaker 1: we all know whatever evidence may have existed was probably
- 12:38Speaker 1: long gone. Now. Law enforcement claimed a language barrier had
- 12:45Speaker 1: slowed the investigation, but that explanation didn't hold up. Okay,
- 12:50Speaker 1: Antonia spoke English fluently, and also, guys, several officers in
- 12:56Speaker 1: the department spoke Spanish, so even if she didn't speak English,
- 13:01Speaker 1: there was people who spoke Spanish. Guys, the truth was
- 13:04Speaker 1: much simpler. The case involved one of their own and
- 13:09Speaker 1: they were trying to protect them. So I'm going to
- 13:13Speaker 1: say the language thing is totally bullshit. Okay. Now, on
- 13:19Speaker 1: November twenty one, the department finally went public asking for tips,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but by then Roses's family knew something terrible had happened.
- 13:30Speaker 1: As investigators stumbled. Mister Julio, piece of shit that he is,
- 13:37Speaker 1: was busy filing paperwork asking the court to terminate his
- 13:41Speaker 1: child's support in demanding a DNA test to prove Rosita
- 13:46Speaker 1: was even his, and guys, he didn't bother to tell
- 13:49Speaker 1: the court that Rosa and Rosita were missing. Okay, guys,
- 13:56Speaker 1: is that not insanity? He tries to do all this
- 14:01Speaker 1: shit and doesn't bother to say, oh, when they're missing,
- 14:04Speaker 1: how can you do a DNA test on somebody that's missing.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Please tell me, okay now. Rosa's family also noticed something else.
- 14:15Speaker 1: After October twenty fourth, Julio never called again. He stopped visiting,
- 14:21Speaker 1: he stopped asking about his daughter. It was as if
- 14:24Speaker 1: Rosa and Rosita had vanished from his conscience completely, if
- 14:29Speaker 1: even had a conscience. I want to know in chat
- 14:32Speaker 1: anyone else think who he Ow's a piece of shit? Anyone?
- 14:35Speaker 1: Because I do. And it's been the week. A piece
- 14:39Speaker 1: of shits? Okay? Dustin from couch court, Meflama's trial, my
- 14:45Speaker 1: two guys on Monday. This has been the week. A
- 14:49Speaker 1: piece of shits? Okay? Humans? Can we try to do
- 14:53Speaker 1: better in life? Can we? Because we got enough? Okay now?
- 14:59Speaker 1: Just before Thanksgiving came a horrifying discovery. On November twenty sixth,
- 15:04Speaker 1: nineteen ninety seven, one hundred and eighty miles away from Hartford,
- 15:09Speaker 1: two duck hunters spotted the body of a woman floating
- 15:13Speaker 1: in Columbia Lake, which is in rural western New Jersey.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Her head and hands had been removed. Investigators called her
- 15:23Speaker 1: the lady of the lake, so did the public. They
- 15:26Speaker 1: didn't know who she was. In DNA testing in nineteen
- 15:29Speaker 1: ninety seven, couldn't give them quick answers. Okay. For months,
- 15:34Speaker 1: investigators from different states worked to identify her, but the
- 15:39Speaker 1: brutality of the crime had almost erased nearly every clue. Now.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Charles Pickett, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,
- 15:49Speaker 1: later said they didn't count on anyone finding the body,
- 15:53Speaker 1: and if it was found, they didn't count on anyone
- 15:57Speaker 1: identifying it. They tried to cancel her identity and cancel
- 16:03Speaker 1: their tracks. Guys, the location was significant too, okay. Columbia
- 16:08Speaker 1: Lake set off Interstate eighty along a stretch known to
- 16:11Speaker 1: law enforcement as a dumping ground for out of state killers.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Law enforcement, I think there's somebody in this story who's
- 16:22Speaker 1: a law enforcement Let me think who that is. Oh yeah, Julio,
- 16:26Speaker 1: the piece of shit. Now, whoever left Rosa there knew
- 16:31Speaker 1: that area well and new pier Now. By October of
- 16:37Speaker 1: nineteen ninety eight, a year after Rosa and Rosita vanished,
- 16:41Speaker 1: Julio Julio resigned from the Hartford Police Department good, claiming
- 16:47Speaker 1: his wife was sick and needed care. Now, behind the scenes,
- 16:52Speaker 1: investigators were quietly building a case. Now. When they rated
- 16:59Speaker 1: Hulio home, what they found was chilling. They found a
- 17:03Speaker 1: handmade hatchet that gleamed as if it had just been scrubbed,
- 17:08Speaker 1: a wire groat with looped handles, two sod Off shotguns,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and a map of New Jersey with the hand drawn
- 17:17Speaker 1: route leading directly to Columbia Lake. Now, the trunk of
- 17:24Speaker 1: his car had been stripped and sanded down. Everything about
- 17:28Speaker 1: it screamed clean up. And yet, guys, I hope you're
- 17:34Speaker 1: okay because despite all of this, no arrest was made.
- 17:39Speaker 1: You heard me, no arrest was made, okay?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Uh?
- 17:45Speaker 1: Oh, I see something exciting up. Laany just scored tickets
- 17:51Speaker 1: to tonight sold out performance of Rocky Horror at the
- 17:53Speaker 1: Bucks County Playhouse. That is awesome, and I'm excited for you.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I need some fun after this, now, guys. In May
- 18:02Speaker 1: of nineteen ninety nine, DNA confirmed what Rosa's family already feared.
- 18:07Speaker 1: The Lady of the Lake was Rosa Delgado. Now Julio
- 18:12Speaker 1: Comancho was officially named a suspect, but again, guys, he
- 18:17Speaker 1: walked around free. Hmm. Now, in two thousand, Julio's name resurface,
- 18:24Speaker 1: this time in a federal corruption probe of the Hertford
- 18:28Speaker 1: Police Department. Huh interesting. Five women came forward accusing Julio
- 18:36Speaker 1: of sexual assault while on duty between nineteen ninety five
- 18:41Speaker 1: and nineteen ninety seven. According to records, he would handcuff, abduct,
- 18:47Speaker 1: and rape women, all while wearing his uniform. Guys, let's
- 18:52Speaker 1: not forget he also was messing with a sixteen year
- 18:57Speaker 1: old and got her pregnant when she was seventeen. Okay now,
- 19:04Speaker 1: In two thousand and one, Julio took a plea deal,
- 19:07Speaker 1: admitting guilt in two of the assaults. He was sentenced
- 19:10Speaker 1: to ten years in federal prison. But guys, even then,
- 19:14Speaker 1: he was not charged in Rosy's murder or in Rosita's disappearance. Now. Meanwhile,
- 19:22Speaker 1: investigators kept searching for little Rosita. Billboards went up around Hartford.
- 19:28Speaker 1: The FBI and the state of Connecticut offered a hundred
- 19:31Speaker 1: thousand dollars reward. Still no sign of little Rosita. Guys,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I have goosebumps. Years later, in twenty sixteen, federal agents
- 19:44Speaker 1: returned to the Cromwell property where Julio once lived. The
- 19:50Speaker 1: original home had burned down, but the new owners allowed
- 19:53Speaker 1: them to search the land. Excavators and forensic teams dug
- 19:58Speaker 1: for days. Authorities have not sound what or if anything
- 20:04Speaker 1: was found. Today, Ros's murder remains officially unsolved, her daughter
- 20:11Speaker 1: Rosita has never been found, and Rosa's youngest Alicia, is
- 20:17Speaker 1: being raised by her aunt Anna Marie and her uncle Oscar,
- 20:22Speaker 1: the same family who has refused to let Rosa's story
- 20:27Speaker 1: fade away or for anyone to forget about little Rosita. Now,
- 20:32Speaker 1: Alicia has now grown, still living in Hartford, and she
- 20:35Speaker 1: is still haunted by the mystery that shaped her life.
- 20:40Speaker 1: If Rosita is alive, she would be thirty two years
- 20:43Speaker 1: old today. Guys, somewhere out there is the truth and
- 20:48Speaker 1: a family that deserves justice. I think, Julio, you need
- 20:56Speaker 1: to do the right thing and tell what you did. Okay.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I don't have proof you did anything but circumstantial. There's
- 21:05Speaker 1: a lot of red flags for me, Okay, a lot
- 21:08Speaker 1: of red flags. Guys. It's sad to think that we
- 21:13Speaker 1: know what he did to Rosa. I can only imagine
- 21:16Speaker 1: what he did to Rosita. So if you know anything
- 21:20Speaker 1: about the murder of Rosa del Gato or the disappearance
- 21:24Speaker 1: of Rosita, command show, guys, even if it's a rumor,
- 21:28Speaker 1: even if you're not sure, If you think someone else
- 21:30Speaker 1: is going to come forward. Don't go ahead and call
- 21:35Speaker 1: the contact, I mean, gohait and call the contact. Contact
- 21:38Speaker 1: the Harvard Police Department at eight six so seven five
- 21:41Speaker 1: seven four thousand. Guys, if you're worried they won't do anything,
- 21:46Speaker 1: go ahead and you can reach out to the FBI.
- 21:50Speaker 1: They will take anonymous tips. I believe it's FBI dot
- 21:55Speaker 1: tips up. Thank you night, Bob for putting it in.
- 21:59Speaker 1: It is tips dot FBI dot gov slash home Okay,
- 22:04Speaker 1: because look at that sweet little face. Look at that
- 22:07Speaker 1: sweet little face of Rosita. She needs to be found
- 22:13Speaker 1: so her family can either help her get help if
- 22:18Speaker 1: she's been held somewhere, or they can bring her home
- 22:21Speaker 1: and bury her if she's no longer with us. Okay,
- 22:27Speaker 1: Laney says, I wonder if I know these people, but
- 22:29Speaker 1: don't recall hearing about this. Spend a lot of time
- 22:33Speaker 1: in Harvard in the nineties. Lane. I am shocked by
- 22:36Speaker 1: how little this case was covered. Shocked, okay, shocked. So please,
- 22:44Speaker 1: if you know something, please say something.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Now.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Guys, If you know of or you have a loved
- 22:51Speaker 1: one that's missing and you're interested in having their story
- 22:55Speaker 1: featured on an upcoming episode, or if you want to
- 22:59Speaker 1: join me for a life interview, or if you just
- 23:01Speaker 1: want to talk to me and tell me about your
- 23:03Speaker 1: loved one, please contact Amy, our producer, by emailing her
- 23:08Speaker 1: at Amy at tcwtmedia dot com. Or guys, you can
- 23:13Speaker 1: send me a DM on any of our social media
- 23:16Speaker 1: accounts my Terry True Crime. Send it to me, okay,
- 23:20Speaker 1: because we would love to carry the story about your
- 23:24Speaker 1: loved one. Now, this next case in nineteen eighty seven.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I is nineteen eighty seven. I was
- 23:36Speaker 1: seventeen years old. Okay. Twenty eight year old Elizabeth Kavlik
- 23:41Speaker 1: vanished from New Haven, Connecticut. She was a devoted mother
- 23:45Speaker 1: to a young son, and she was described by her
- 23:48Speaker 1: sister Jeanette as fun, loving, energetic, and beautiful. Now, Jeanette
- 23:54Speaker 1: remembers the joy of singing, dancing, family pig, and rollerblading
- 24:01Speaker 1: with her sister, memories that now serve as a cherished
- 24:05Speaker 1: reminder of Elizabeth's vibrant spirit. Now. In the days leading
- 24:12Speaker 1: up to her disappearance, Elizabeth had missed work at Dictaphone Corp.
- 24:17Speaker 1: On November ninth and eleventh, only to return on the thirteenth. Now,
- 24:23Speaker 1: the following day, she was seen at McKenna's bar on
- 24:26Speaker 1: Chapel Street in New Haven with two men. Okay. That night.
- 24:31Speaker 1: She stayed in the city and an acquaintance later drove
- 24:35Speaker 1: her home. Now, when Thanksgiving came around and went without
- 24:40Speaker 1: word from Elizabeth, her family grew alarmed. Okay, cause that
- 24:48Speaker 1: just wasn't right now. On November twenty second, they reported
- 24:51Speaker 1: her missing. Now, Elizabeth had occasionally dropped out of sight before,
- 24:56Speaker 1: she had never missed a family holiday. Disappearance also felt different,
- 25:03Speaker 1: more final, trust your gut people like they did. Investigators
- 25:08Speaker 1: soon discovered that none of her belongings were gone, her
- 25:12Speaker 1: credit card had not been used, and she had spent
- 25:15Speaker 1: much of November freaking New Haven. Now. A coworker later
- 25:20Speaker 1: recalled that Elizabeth had been acting strangely just days before
