- 0:01The mother describes 2 conditions for preventing
- 0:04illness from invading the physical being.
- 0:07The first condition is basically not to want it.
- 0:11When we reflect on this, the first reaction is that we don't
- 0:15want it. This is however not the complete
- 0:18picture. We have to recognize that the
- 0:21human being is an amalgam of multiple different parts of the
- 0:25being, each with its own characteristic mode of action
- 0:29and response, and that these different parts are not always
- 0:33in agreement with each other. At the mental level, we may
- 0:37reject the vibration that is pressuring the body and which,
- 0:40if allowed, would create physical illness.
- 0:44This does not, however, encompass the response of the
- 0:48vital or the physical aspects of our existence.
- 0:52Some people actually have a vital nature that accepts
- 0:55illness as a way of achieving recognition and support from
- 0:59others. Such individuals dwell on their
- 1:03various illnesses, their suffering and the martyrdom they
- 1:07are undergoing, and they elicit sympathy from others.
- 1:11This makes them feel special. Even assuming, however, that the
- 1:16vital nature is not encouraging the illness, this still leaves
- 1:20the physical body, which has a habit of responding to certain
- 1:24vibratory patterns, as precursors and harbingers of
- 1:28illness, so that the physical body simply accepts the
- 1:33vibration and lets it carry itself out in the physical
- 1:36being. Thus, not to want it is a
- 1:40condition that must be recognized as applying not just
- 1:44to the mental formation, but to the vital and physical levels as
- 1:48well. The second condition is not to
- 1:52be afraid. Once again, we have to take into
- 1:56account the different parts of the being.
- 1:59One may have a strong mental formation that one is not afraid
- 2:02of illness, but this does not control either the vital
- 2:07reaction or the physical response.
- 2:10The vital nature may be terrified about the risk to its
- 2:14life and life energy, or the physical cells of the body may
- 2:19be vibrating in fear. In whatever part of the being
- 2:23the fear arises, it creates a sympathetic vibration that draws
- 2:28to it exactly what one fears. This provides the needed opening
- 2:33for the illness to enter through the vital protective envelope
- 2:37and thereby embedded self into the physical being and manifest
- 2:42as an illness. Those who recognize the role of
- 2:46the different parts of the being in the acceptance of an illness
- 2:50may utilize various strategy to convince other parts not to
- 2:54fear. Sometimes this is a matter of
- 2:57exercising a conscious will. Sometimes it is a matter of
- 3:02relying on the Divine grace in a deep and abiding manner.
- 3:06Sometimes it is bringing in peace and harmony into the being
- 3:11through conscious meditation or infusing light or force from
- 3:16above to fill the being at all levels.
- 3:20For those who are unable to fully carry out any of these to
- 3:24impact the vital or physical levels of the being, there are
- 3:28additional ways to bring that trust and support to them.
- 3:32The physical tends to respond to physical support.
- 3:36Thus, when the mind recognizes the situation, it may carry the
- 3:40confidence and faith to the physical body through means of
- 3:45taking a particular herbal remedy or through some simple
- 3:48action such as taking fruit with a known high level of vitamin C,
- 3:53for instance. The body gets the message that
- 3:57protection from another level is being provided to it in a very
- 4:00physical form and thus gains confidence to ward off the
- 4:06illness. A disciple asks Sweet mother,
- 4:11when one sees an illness coming, how can one stop it?
- 4:15The mother responds quote, Ah, first of all, you must not want
- 4:21it, and nothing in the body must want it.
- 4:25You must have a very strong will not to be ill.
- 4:29This is the first condition. The second condition is to call
- 4:33the light a light of equilibrium, a light of peace,
- 4:38quietude, and balance, and to push it into all the cells of
- 4:42the body, enjoining them not to be afraid, because that again is
- 4:48another condition. First not to want to be ill, and
- 4:53then not to be afraid of illness.
- 4:57You must neither attract it nor tremble.
- 5:00You must not want illness at all, but you must not, because
- 5:04of fear, not want it. You must not be afraid.
- 5:09You must have a calm certitude and a complete trust in the
- 5:13power of the grace to shelter you from everything.
- 5:16And then think of something else.
- 5:19Not be concerned about this any longer when you have done these
- 5:23two things, refusing the illness with all your will and infusing
- 5:28a confidence which completely eliminates the fear in the cells
- 5:32of the body. And then busying yourself with
- 5:35something else, not thinking any longer about the illness,
- 5:39forgetting that it exists there. If you know how to do that, you
- 5:45may even be in contact with people who have contagious
- 5:48diseases, and yet you do not catch them.
- 5:53But you must know how to do this.
- 5:56Many people say, Oh yes, here I am not afraid.
- 6:01They don't have any fear in the mind.
- 6:03Their mind is not afraid, it is strong, it is not afraid.
- 6:07But the body trembles and one doesn't know it, because it is
- 6:11in the cells of the body that the trembling goes on.
- 6:15It trembles with a terrible anxiety, and this is what
- 6:18attracts the illness. It is there that you must put
- 6:22the force and the quietude of a perfect peace and an absolute
- 6:28trust in the grace. And then sometimes you are
- 6:32obliged to drive away with a similar force in your thought
- 6:36all suggestions that after all, the physical world is full of
- 6:40illnesses, and these are contagious, and because one was
- 6:44in contact with somebody who is ill, one is sure to catch it.
- 6:48And then that the inner methods are not powerful enough to act
- 6:52on the physical. And all kinds of stupidities of
- 6:56which the air is full. These are collective suggestions
- 7:00which are passed on from one person to another by everybody.
- 7:05And if by chance there are two or three doctors, then it
- 7:09becomes terrible laughter. End Quote.
