- 0:03Welcome to Worldview Matters.
- 0:05Discussing controversial issues.
- 0:07Discerning current events.
- 0:10Defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic.
- 0:14Off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Friends, family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning in to another episode and for sharing the podcast.
- 0:25And as always, we appreciate your prayers.
- 0:27We talk about so many important issues, and it's just nonstop what Bible-believing Christians should be up to speed on.
- 0:36Of course, you've got to be rooted and grounded in the truth of God's Word.
- 0:39But with that biblical worldview, we have to know how to respond to what's happening in our culture, in our country, right around us, in our communities, locally.
- 0:49And there's a lot of demonic agendas going on.
- 0:52And the push for the Rainbow Pride Month and the LGBTQ agenda, that is one of those things.
- 1:00that we need to be better at addressing and warning about.
- 1:03Well, I'm going to bring in Linda Harvey of Mission America.
- 1:07She's back with us.
- 1:08The website is missionamerica.com.
- 1:11She's got a brand new book out, and this is a workbook, which I can't wait to talk about, Rainbows and Pride.
- 1:19What's really true about Rainbows and Pride?
- 1:23Linda, thank you so much for your time, and congrats on the book.
- 1:26Love it.
- 1:27Great.
- 1:27I'm so glad to be with you, David.
- 1:29Thank you so much.
- 1:30And we're so excited about this book.
- 1:32Yes.
- 1:33And you've been writing about this and speaking about this for a long time.
- 1:37You're in Ohio.
- 1:40You know, every state has their issues with the government run schools and this agenda.
- 1:46So maybe we should start with what is the audience for the book?
- 1:50What are you hoping to get it?
- 1:52Obviously, Christian families.
- 1:53But what is there a specific audience for the book?
- 1:57Well, yeah, it's mainly for students ages nine to roughly 13.
- 2:03I mean, it would be good for any high school or two if they would sit down and do it because it's gives the overview of a Christian, a presentation of Christian marriage, sexuality, and then kind of a
- 2:21quick outline of the lgbtq agenda at a very age-appropriate level we don't get into it too heavily but talking about the use of the rainbow the misuse rainbow talking about the use of the word pride which god hates pride and we explain uh what that is and we provide scripture all throughout or we cite the scripture reference and the kids can then
- 2:48I'll look that up.
- 2:48And there's a spot on each page for kids to write down their thoughts, you know, when they discover what they've found in scripture and their own ideas as they respond.
- 3:03But, you know, yeah, the audience is, I think it would be very, very useful for any student, but particularly for those in public schools.
- 3:13Okay.
- 3:14Let me follow up on that a little bit.
- 3:15There's a little article on your website that says Rainbows and Pride Parent, Grandparent, and Teacher Guide.
- 3:23And this is available at missionamerica.com.
- 3:25It's through Lighthouse Trails, which is a great organization.
- 3:30Let me ask you about that, though.
- 3:32You mentioned age appropriate.
- 3:33I think you said starting around age nine for parents or grandparents maybe to get this and use this maybe at home.
- 3:40But...
- 3:42In the schools, the left, those who would push demonic agendas, the LGBTQ and their minions, they're reaching kids at younger and younger ages.
- 3:56So they don't care what age appropriate is.
- 3:58Can you speak to that for a moment and help us understand?
- 4:01I know Christian families maybe want to wait a little bit longer to talk about these things, but they're getting bombarded with it through social media, Hollywood, and at school.
- 4:10Go ahead, Linda.
- 4:11Well, again, depending on the maturity level of your child, I think people can decide they want to order the book and then take pieces and parts of it for the young child and then wait till they're a little older.
- 4:26I mean, I think it's fine for a mature, well-grounded child earlier than that.
- 4:33But when you're talking about the specifics of this agenda and the...
- 4:40You know, we go through a little bit, we just say, you know, you may have heard of pride parades.
- 4:46Okay, what would you do if a friend of yours asked you to go to one of these parades where
- 4:54where you have people that are dressed as the opposite sex, like we say the word drag queens, the phrase drag queens.
- 5:01Do you think that a man dressing as a woman is appropriate?
- 5:04It is not fine.
- 5:05And people should not be cheering for this.
- 5:07That's essentially our message.
- 5:08We don't go into any more detail.
- 5:11We don't talk about the nudity that you'll find in a pride parade.
- 5:15So, you know, people have to decide, you know, a lot of kids will be able to handle this, but we don't give everything, but we give just enough so that, because I think kids are.
- 5:28tuned in to the culture around them.
- 5:30They know that they're seeing rainbows that aren't used the way rainbows are used in their little preschool books.
- 5:37That aren't used on their toys, aren't used in their media, although sometimes today in their media it is used for the LGBTQ agenda, but they know there's something wrong with this.
- 5:51And so, but they want a little bit more detail.
- 5:54And so this is a way to introduce them to the idea of God's standards, how God is probably displeased with the theft of the rainbow.
- 6:03Yes.
- 6:03How he created marriage and family.
- 6:08And men and women as distinctly different humans to marry when they grow up and raise families.
- 6:15And isn't that a wonderful thing?
- 6:16So we go through all of that, but at the right points, we introduce the idea of how this agenda is being presented.
- 6:27And it is an agenda, and it has been far too successful in the last, I don't know how many decades, we can say at this point.
- 6:36But as we're doing this interview, this podcast, this is coming out in mid-October.
- 6:43Unfortunately, October is known as Pride Month, LGBTQ History Month.
- 6:49So in most schools, they're talking about this from a different way that the biblical worldview would support or the Bible would support, not like God ordains the rainbow and uses it as a covenant, not to flood the earth again.
- 7:05But let's talk about many schools and libraries.
- 7:09Also...
- 7:10have observed banned books week the first week in October.
- 7:16And this is apart from schools now, Lynn, and you can talk about whatever aspect of this you'd like, but the American Library Association has an annual campaign, you write, to intimidate parents into remaining silent about some of the highly offensive titles promoted to children and teenagers.
- 7:36Talk to us about this because we've heard a lot about schools for a long time, especially the audience and listeners and viewers of this podcast.
- 7:44We've had Alex Newman, Heidi St. John, Sam Sorbo and so many others on to talk about this issue.
- 7:49But what about libraries?
- 7:52Talk to us a little bit about about Band Books Week and what we need to know about that.
- 7:58Right.
- 7:58Well, so by the time you, as you said, by the time you broadcast this, it'll be just over, except that that campaign is pretty much all year in the libraries.
- 8:10It is so deceptive because what they're doing is they're capitalizing on the idea that we all kind of grew up with and people are learning about now is how the Nazis were book burners.
- 8:22And now that gets confusing because some of the left...
- 8:25like Nazis now all of a sudden, and they're anti-Semitism.
- 8:29But that's another whole rabbit trail we won't go down.
- 8:32So we've got Banned Books Week implying that conservatives or Christians or any parent that would dare object to, you know,
- 8:43homosexual and heterosexual hookups in your child's reading material with very graphic descriptions and all the other nonsense that you see publishers putting before children.
- 8:54How dare you object to that?
- 8:56You're just like a Nazi book banner when the reality is that
- 9:03quietly behind the scenes every single day, it's the librarians and sometimes teachers job, to ban books.
- 9:10They choose some and some lessons and they ban others, ban, unquote.
- 9:16So, you know, they're they're just being disingenuous.
- 9:19They want to highlight parents or conservatives who may object to some of this.
- 9:24And so much of it is the left wing agenda in these in these publications.
- 9:29The other thing is that there's sensational material in
- 9:33these books and that sells.
- 9:36So you've got publishers who don't have the framework they used to have thinking to themselves, boy, if we put this out there, parents might object.
- 9:44Parents are not objecting, or at least they weren't.
- 9:46Now, in the last few years, we have many more brave parents stepping up.
- 9:51I think we're getting a window where parents are getting more guts and there's more organizations behind them to really call some of this out.
- 10:03And thankfully, not enough, but some parents are showing up to school board meetings and they're speaking out.
- 10:09And some of them are getting cut off or censored just for sharing what the kids can access in the school library or what's in the curriculum.
- 10:20I've seen some amazing stuff, Linda.
- 10:22This is really frustrating to a lot of Christian parents.
- 10:28They want to speak out, but they're thinking they're just going to silence me.
- 10:33at the foundation of spiritual battle, we know that.
- 10:37So I want to talk a little bit more about what you're seeing because parents have not generally been up to speed on things until it's too late, up until maybe recent years, as you said.
- 10:50Can you give me another example of what you might be seeing as far as pushback or maybe, because the left is not going to relent on their agenda.
- 10:56They're going to push it no matter what.
- 10:57They'll just find different ways to,
- 10:59But I do agree with you that more Christians and parents are trying to speak out, whether that be through school board meetings, nonprofits, just raising awareness on social media.
- 11:09Go ahead and speak to that aspect and what parents can do.
- 11:13Well, parents can continue to attend school board meetings and keep up with what's going on, especially with their children.
- 11:20And I'm talking public schools, the Christian schools and homeschooling.
- 11:24You also have to watch the Christian schools, unfortunately.
- 11:28Now, not in every case, of course, it's much more likely to be a safe environment if you are talking about morality.
- 11:37But not always.
- 11:38You're getting some of these teachers are trained in the same environment.
- 11:42the same teacher training programs as the secular teachers are.
- 11:46So you really have to keep your eyes on that as well.
- 11:50But as far as what parents can do, they can opt their children out, send letters to your teacher, the teachers in your child's class,
- 12:01Make sure that they know that you do not want your child to go over any books in class.
- 12:08Sometimes the teachers have their own little library at the elementary school level or middle school level in the English language arts class.
- 12:17And they will assign that right there, hand it out or allow children to choose it.
- 12:22So parents, the oversight of the big library is not there.
- 12:28So this is something to watch for.
- 12:30So, again, write a letter, opt your children out, say, I do not want my child to read any of this material.
- 12:38And that should not be an issue.
- 12:40But I've read or I've heard in recent years, some schools push back on that, on parents simply trying to opt their kids out of something that's offensive.
- 12:51What do you know about that?
- 12:51Is that that's a state state issue, right?
- 12:54Right.
- 12:55Right.
- 12:55States will have different laws and policies allowing parents to review the curriculum if they request to do so.
- 13:04We do have one law like that in Ohio and that.
- 13:08But the problem is, is now parents are getting more specific in what they're saying.
- 13:13And it's again, it'll be often it's the sexuality issues, the LGBTQ.
- 13:18And of course, many of these educators are so left wing and they do not want to to deal with that.
- 13:24But they also are will cite their own.
- 13:29School wide, school district wide, non-discrimination policies, which include sexual orientation and gender identity.
- 13:36Yeah.
- 13:36So you get that issue in there.
- 13:39And so but the the fact of you even.
- 13:44doing that opting out and sending that notification by email is a really positive thing.
- 13:50The more times parents push back on this, the more times we will have much more ammunition, much more of a solid,
- 14:02I don't coalition that continues to say we've had it.
- 14:06The other thing is we've got some good Supreme Court cases.
- 14:10Now the Mahmood case that was decided last year about the parents in Maryland having a right to review on a for a religious basis.
- 14:21on a religious basis, and not every parent is going to have objections based on religion, but most, of course, your audience mostly will.
- 14:31You know, the parents have a right, U.S. Supreme Court, to look at these cases.
- 14:38I know it was wonderful.
- 14:39We've had some really good Supreme Court cases in the last few years.
- 14:43So there's that as well.
- 14:45Yes, I mean, that should be, to us, it's common sense to say, don't sexualize my children outside of our home.
- 14:52Let us teach them about marriage, God-ordained marriage between one man and one woman, about biblical sexuality and from God's Word.
- 15:01But I want to ask you about something and see if the tide is shifting a little bit.
- 15:05I've been reading articles or seeing certain headlines about more young people, maybe—
- 15:11Getting disillusioned with the whole, you know, Rainbow Mafia and the LGBTQ and maybe the word identify.
- 15:20Are more kids identifying as LGBTQ today or are there less?
- 15:27Do you know the roughly the percentages in the last maybe couple of years?
- 15:30Because I hear that's decreasing, but I want to hear it from you.
- 15:35Well, the biggest indicator that we have, the biggest survey, is the 9th through 12th grade high schoolers who are surveyed every two years by the Centers for Disease Control.
- 15:49And it's called the Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
- 15:52And they have a whole range of questions on there, everything from drugs to dangerous behavior.
- 15:58And then they have sexuality issues, but they also have...
- 16:03a place where you declare this is terrible that they're doing this, but at least we have this information.
- 16:09Well, they will say, do you think of yourself as heterosexual, gay, lesbian, or you're not sure?
- 16:18They don't talk about on that survey yet, transgender.
- 16:21But what's happened is since like 2011, this number of kids that have said they were lesbian, gay, bisexual, or questioning has risen steadily until last year.
- 16:36And it was almost at one out of four high schoolers.
- 16:40And now it's like, I think it's like 40,000 kids are pregnant.
- 16:44in major cities.
- 16:46So the major cities are not going to reflect everybody.
- 16:49Yeah.
- 16:50But it reflects quite a few folks in across the nation and trends.
- 16:57Yeah.
- 16:57And so that was very discouraging.
- 16:59And what happened was.
- 17:02In the latest survey, which was for the year 2024, I think, and then they put it out last year 2025.
- 17:10it dropped, especially among ninth grade girls.
- 17:14And what was happening is that a lot of these girls, I think it's peer pressure, it's not the absence of an opposing worldview, absence of pastors and youth pastors, training kids to deal with this, the absence of things like my book, self-promotion here, but that's the reason I wrote it, is to fill this gap of knowledge.
- 17:35Thank you.
- 17:37It's gone down because so many of these girls were saying they were bisexual.
- 17:41And of course, many of this was just kids talking.
- 17:44By the time they got into college, they weren't really going down this road.
- 17:48But some of them were and more were.
- 17:50And all of it points to the fact that it's all been promotion and popularity.
- 17:56So if we get the popularity to decline...
- 18:00We'll get the experimentation and the loss of the connection to the Lord and respect for his standards and going along with what he's saying, which, again, we need pastors.
- 18:14We need churches to fill in this gap.
- 18:17Stop remaining silent.
- 18:19But to do that in the interim, there are many of us in these parachurch ministries filling in the gaps, and my book helps do that, I think.
- 18:29So let's emphasize the fact that 50 to 75 years ago, when my great-grandparents' day, this was not an issue.
- 18:38There was no confusion over marriage, over sexuality, over identity.
- 18:43This was not an issue.
- 18:46More people believed that human beings were made in the image of God, created in the image of God.
- 18:51This is evil.
- 18:54It's the marketing of evil.
- 18:55Right?
- 18:56This is good marketing.
- 18:58When I say good, I'm not giving them credit.
- 19:00I'm saying it's evil, it's deceptive, it's just purposely trying to deceive kids and recruit the LGBTQ.
- 19:07They cannot reproduce, so they have to recruit.
- 19:10This is the marketing of evil, friends.
- 19:12We have to understand that.
- 19:14And they're going after children, the easiest target.
- 19:19And they're accessing, and that shouldn't be, but it's true.
- 19:23They are able to access kids through social media, through their friends, through everything else.
- 19:28But now in the public schools, it's been going on.
- 19:31So let's bring it back to the church, Linda.
- 19:33You mentioned it.
- 19:34So generally, pastors and churches have not been competent, done a good job of teaching the truth from the biblical worldview on marriage.
- 19:46First of all, God is creator, male and female, then marriage—
- 19:50family, sexuality, biblical sexuality as a whole.
- 19:55And so families cannot have a good biblical understanding on how to respond to the culture and how to respond to this onslaught of marketing for homosexuality and gay, lesbian, transgender agenda.
- 20:08So as far as children, as far as Christian families, I know your workbook will be tremendously helpful, but could you speak to maybe how
- 20:20Pastors and churches can do a better job of equipping the saints, addressing this and helping their congregations.
- 20:30Yeah, the issue is that there's a couple of things that happen.
- 20:36First, it's silence.
- 20:37They're just not dealing with it.
- 20:39And if they teach from Scripture, and it happens to be Romans 1, for instance, and it's in there, they may go ahead and affirm it and then move on quickly.
- 20:47They don't give any depth.
- 20:50Even when they do deal with it, there's no depth.
- 20:52They're not equipping their youth, especially need this, and their youth groups.
- 20:56They could do this.
- 20:58because they could easily, because it's a smaller group, that they could do it in small groups of adults as well, or they could do it from the pulpit.
- 21:05That's what they should do.
- 21:06They should not be ashamed.
- 21:08Also, read the other part of Romans 1.
- 21:10I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and everything it teaches, because it is effective and it is useful and it is good for the equipping of the saints.
- 21:22We have to get into the depth of addressing what the culture is lying about.
- 21:28Are people born this way?
- 21:29What's the evidence?
- 21:30You don't have to get very deep into that factual issue.
- 21:35The pastors don't have to, I know they're busy,
- 21:39But you don't have to get very deep into all of the studies that have been done and have purported this and that that show basically nothing.
- 21:46There's only there's a couple of big ones out there that can give you the ammunition you need, that there's no solid evidence of this at all.
- 21:54Tons of ex-homosexuals.
- 21:55We also have a page on that in this book.
- 21:58Oh, that's good.
- 22:00We have pages on marriage and, you know, male and female designed by God and all that.
- 22:05But, yeah, they need to get into more depth when they do address it.
- 22:09But first of all, they have to address it.
- 22:12You know, they have to get into this issue.
- 22:14So I just want to quote from this article on your website, what's really true about Rainbows and Pride, about your new book, and then we'll move on.
- 22:21But it said that you witnessed and documented the tremendous damage LGBTQ proponents are inflicting upon unprepared children and families using the schools as their primary venue for grooming and indoctrination.
- 22:37And you said, my heart is broken.
- 22:40over the young lives that have fallen prey to this deception.
- 22:42And that's what compels you, if I'm not mistaken, to continue to speak out on this, to continue to write on this.
- 22:48And now we have a workbook, uh, what's really true about rainbows and pride.
- 22:52So thank you, Linda.
- 22:54I'm so glad.
- 22:54I hope it does well.
- 22:55I pray it does friends share this podcast and get this book.
- 22:59It's a workbook.
- 23:01Um, you know, homeschoolers can use it.
- 23:04If you have children in the public schools, which that's a whole nother thing.
- 23:07Uh,
- 23:07We don't want to get into.
- 23:08But final thoughts on this, Linda, because I want to ask you about a very important article you wrote about Christians and voting.
- 23:15So final thoughts on just wrap it up on your book and getting it into Christian families' hands so they can prepare their kids.
- 23:23Well, yes, I just urge you to get it.
- 23:26And if you are a parent, grandparent, teacher, I've had contacts from people from Christian schools already who are going to maybe use this book.
- 23:34They're going to look at it.
- 23:36It's just out now, but it's available.
- 23:38And the other thing is it's good as a group discussion.
- 23:41So because it's the workbook format, it works out for that for middle school or even high school group discussion.
- 23:49Thank you.
- 23:50So missionamerica.com and lighthouseetrails.com.
- 23:54Linda, top five reasons for Christians to vote.
- 23:56We've got less than five minutes, so we can't get into a lot of detail.
- 24:00But you just...
- 24:02mainly put some bullet points and talk about America and where we're at and whether we want to preserve our republic.
- 24:07So give us a few bullet points.
- 24:09We will put this article in the description of the podcast.
- 24:12But go ahead and share your heart on, I mean, we just talked about something, right, that's being, you know, promoted that we need to get more Christians and more conservatives elected and school boards and everything else.
- 24:25Go ahead and share your thoughts about Christians and voting from this article.
- 24:28Yeah, well, thank you.
- 24:29I appreciate you doing this because this is hugely on my heart.
- 24:33I pray every morning for us to I have to say, Republicans, I'm voting straight Republican.
- 24:38No Democrats are trustworthy.
- 24:40No libertarians, folks.
- 24:42They don't get it.
- 24:43They do not understand the moral issues and the protection of children.
- 24:47If you worry about this issue or abortion, you have to get out and vote.
- 24:52and find out which candidates are opposed to a biblical reading on that and opposed to protecting kids.
- 24:59That's what it's coming down to.
- 25:01Well, the real thing that motivated me as a progressive feminist agnostic, and then I became a believer and then a conservative Christian,
- 25:13and then active in the political realm is gratitude.
- 25:17You know, America is a huge gift to Christians worldwide.
- 25:22It's a gift to all of us who live here, but it's a gift that we need to open and use.
- 25:30It's like, you know, when God, you know, would hand you a beautifully wrapped gift at Christmas.
- 25:36What if you were to just put it aside and say, oh Lord, thank you so much, but I'm too busy right now.
- 25:41No.
- 25:42America voting and our privilege to vote is not shared by people in other countries.
- 25:48To protect our freedoms and elections have consequences.
- 25:52We can see what the Donald Trump administration is doing.
- 25:55They've just had six major children's hospitals end their gender transition program because of their pressure from the Department of Justice, their pressure through Medicare, Medicaid payments.
- 26:08That's the kind of,
- 26:10issue you have.
- 26:11And it's not just federal, it's local.
- 26:12We have state laws that have been passed to protect children against gender medical treatments.
- 26:19That's the kind of thing that happens with elections.
- 26:21So
- 26:22People need to get out and vote.
- 26:23But also it's the issue of, you know, just being involved in politics and stopping this Christian mindset of putting our heads in the sand and believing, oh, I either don't have time for that or I'm just gonna trust Jesus.
- 26:37Well, guess what?
- 26:38Jesus is looking for you to do some work in this world.
- 26:41We are supposed to believe and then go and do.
- 26:45And one of those things we do is to pull the lever on the voting booth.
- 26:48And so that's a couple of points.
- 26:50I know you're running out of time.
- 26:53Yeah.
