- 0:01Speaker 1: It hits in access to Mark by setting the pre
- 0:04Speaker 1: set in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and
- 0:07Speaker 1: his podcas. Now back to the Monk Simone show on
- 0:11Speaker 1: woor Hey, that's stock market up. Oil prices are dropping
- 0:18Speaker 1: a little. Hey, we'll take some calls. I see a
- 0:20Speaker 1: couple of open lines there. I don't usually see that.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Call me. Eight hundred three to two one zero seven
- 0:26Speaker 1: ten is the number. Eight hundred three to two one
- 0:29Speaker 1: zero seven ten. Let's go to Rich Myrtle Beach. Rich,
- 0:32Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Hey? Thanks Mark, hel The price of gas down here
- 0:36Speaker 2: Myrtle Beach is now well over four dollars. It's un American.
- 0:40Speaker 2: With WTI and what our congress and centive people are doing.
- 0:44Speaker 2: The amount of oil and gas produces this country is
- 0:46Speaker 2: zero reason it's Unamerican. Is zero reason our gas should
- 0:50Speaker 2: be anything other than two fifty to three dollars a gallon,
- 0:53Speaker 2: even in a crisis like this. It's on boarders, treasons, born,
- 0:58Speaker 2: it's out.
- 0:58Speaker 1: It's unnecessary, it's not there's trees and it is not necessary.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 1: No, we have more gas and we could ever use.
- 1:04Speaker 1: There's absolutely no reason the gas prices should be up
- 1:07Speaker 1: in America. But if that's the worldwide price. Technically, these
- 1:12Speaker 1: American producers can raise the price to match the world price.
- 1:17Speaker 2: That's that's you know, WILLI Market's on americanunging.
- 1:22Speaker 1: It's not good. But if you, let's say the present
- 1:24Speaker 1: clamp down on and made him put the price back down,
- 1:27Speaker 1: then what happens is they Tim Scott, let me finish,
- 1:31Speaker 1: let me finish the sentence. If if the present were
- 1:34Speaker 1: to order them put the price back down, and they
- 1:36Speaker 1: could easily, then the problem is they'll just not drill
- 1:39Speaker 1: as much. They'll cut down on drilling, they'll cut down
- 1:41Speaker 1: in production. Right now, we're at fourteen million barrels a day.
- 1:44Speaker 1: They'll cut back to like eight million barrels a day
- 1:46Speaker 1: and just do that to raise the price up. Let's
- 1:49Speaker 1: go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing morning Mark?
- 1:54Speaker 1: That's Mike.
- 1:55Speaker 3: American Graffiti was on Tarno Classic Movies again last night,
- 1:59Speaker 3: so I watched it but a million times, but got
- 2:02Speaker 3: me to think.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Jack, that was the movie with Wifeman Jack and they
- 2:08Speaker 1: were looking at this beautiful blonde and the thunderbird, and
- 2:11Speaker 1: that was a young Suzanne Summers, right.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Suzanne Summers.
- 2:14Speaker 4: It was a great great movie I've seen in a
- 2:16Speaker 4: million times, and you mentioned the wolf Man Jack. But
- 2:19Speaker 4: it got me to thinking when you were still up
- 2:21Speaker 4: coming up as a DJ and playing records. You know,
- 2:24Speaker 4: back in the day, there was cousin Brucy and Marie
- 2:27Speaker 4: de Kay and they had the stage names, you know, Dandy, Dan, Daniel.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Did you have a a You always Mark Simone or yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I was born with that name, and I always thought,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know, I never met anybody else with that name,
- 2:40Speaker 1: so I thought it's kind of an odd name. I
- 2:41Speaker 1: guess I'll have to change my name. But from the
- 2:44Speaker 1: time I got in the radio, nobody ever asked me
- 2:45Speaker 1: to change my name. You know, it wasn't It wasn't
- 2:47Speaker 1: until it wasn't until the Internet was invented. You know
- 2:51Speaker 1: how you could google your name on the Internet. When
- 2:53Speaker 1: it first came along search engines that I realized, there's
- 2:56Speaker 1: plenty of people named Mark Simone. There's all over the place.
- 2:59Speaker 1: There's a famous soccer star in Europe named that. There's
- 3:02Speaker 1: some minister in the Midwest that has best selling books.
- 3:05Speaker 1: There's a car dealer.
- 3:07Speaker 3: And no relation to Nina Simo, and of course.
- 3:10Speaker 1: No but but you ever do that google your own name,
- 3:15Speaker 1: just to see how many people I have.
- 3:18Speaker 4: There's a couple of actors with there's a one or
- 3:21Speaker 4: two actors and my and uh so it's it's strange.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And it's actually somebody where I lived that's got the
- 3:28Speaker 3: same name, which is strange.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I keep it.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I was getting his mail for a while, which is
- 3:32Speaker 3: very odd.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Now sometimes I have a Google alert. You can go
- 3:35Speaker 1: to Google and put your name in there on an alert.
- 3:38Speaker 1: If your name is ever on the internet, it'll send
- 3:40Speaker 1: you an alert. So sometimes I see my Google alerts
- 3:43Speaker 1: and it says Mark Simone being honored with a parade thousands.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Then I realized it's that soccer guy in Europe. It's
- 3:49Speaker 1: not me.
- 3:49Speaker 3: But as long as it's not the obituary that comes through,
- 3:53Speaker 3: that must be cool.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That has actually happened.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I think.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I think one of them died and I saw it
- 3:57Speaker 1: in the obituary. So all right.
- 4:00Speaker 3: And did you have any did you have any of
- 4:02Speaker 3: those jingles? I remember Harry Harrison here and Harry Harrison,
- 4:06Speaker 3: you know, did you have any of those?
- 4:07Speaker 1: I had plenty of those jingles. In fact, not that
- 4:09Speaker 1: long ago, it was it ten now fifteen years ago.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We did the Saturday night oldie show. I had all
- 4:14Speaker 1: those jingles in my name money. Yeah, those were great.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Those You should release them. You should release them as
- 4:19Speaker 3: sort of an album movie.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It would be awesome.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You got to be honest. I don't think there'd be
- 4:22Speaker 1: a line around the block to get that. But all right,
- 4:26Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Yeah that was Radio used to use
- 4:28Speaker 1: jingles all the time. I don't really use it anymore. Uh,
- 4:31Speaker 1: it just kind of went out of fashion. Some stations
- 4:33Speaker 1: would throw them in once in a while. It's kind
- 4:35Speaker 1: of a nice nostalgic thing. And let's go to Let's
- 4:41Speaker 1: go to Will in Connecticut. Will. How you doing?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Hey, Mark?
- 4:45Speaker 1: Good?
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, real quick. You were just saying about playing that
- 4:50Speaker 2: clip from Scott Besson not being able to pay their soldiers.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I'm just curious what currency are they paying them?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you're right, Ranian currency is pretty bad, but
- 5:01Speaker 1: it's pretty worthless thanks to US shutting down their economy.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It's killing their currency.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I'm not paying them a dollars no, No, it's an Iranian.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I don't know what the currency is there, but you're right,
- 5:14Speaker 1: we've crushed their currency. It's a good point. So they're
- 5:17Speaker 1: running out of money. It's the straight of Horror Moose
- 5:19Speaker 1: being closed is great for us. We don't get any
- 5:23Speaker 1: oil out of there. We don't need it for anything.
- 5:26Speaker 1: The entire Iranian economy depends on the Strait of Horn
- 5:29Speaker 1: Moose going through there. As long as it's closed, they
- 5:33Speaker 1: have no economy. So it's killing them and they're not
- 5:36Speaker 1: gonna be able to make their payroll. So they're saying, well,
- 5:39Speaker 1: if they don't pay the soldiers. I don't know how
- 5:42Speaker 1: that works in Iran. You have a feeling if you're
- 5:44Speaker 1: an Iranian soldier in that Republican Guard or whatever that is,
- 5:47Speaker 1: that Revolutionary Guard, and if your paycheck doesn't come through,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I have a feeling you can't just quit and walk away.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It's probably not the safest thing to do.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Let's go to is it, Joseph, whoever it is. Nope,
- 6:01Speaker 1: that's not good. Let's go to David in New Jersey. David,
- 6:04Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Hey, I'm doing good. Minus theologies. I wanted it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I know it's terrible, these allergies.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I wanted to politely ask. I'm going to
- 6:15Speaker 5: vote regardless in November. But I can appreciate that a
- 6:19Speaker 5: lot of people are very disillusioned with a lot of nonsense.
- 6:23Speaker 5: In terms of Congressional responsibility, no promise is kept since
- 6:28Speaker 5: they got reelected or elected about a year and a
- 6:31Speaker 5: half ago. And I was just curious. Winning the hearts
- 6:34Speaker 5: and minds is never easy. I'm voting regardless, and as
- 6:37Speaker 5: a registered Democrat, I'll vote Republicans, so I at least
- 6:40Speaker 5: double my action. But in terms of getting out the
- 6:44Speaker 5: vote for people that are tired of I mean, Congress,
- 6:47Speaker 5: let's face it, they're not really doing much of anything else.
- 6:50Speaker 1: No, that's the problem. That's why you see. You know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: they always show you the poll Republican approval of Congress.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Republican approval. Oh, it's only forty two percent. They always
- 6:58Speaker 1: show you that. They never show you the other part
- 7:00Speaker 1: of the poll. Approval for Democrats in Congress is like
- 7:03Speaker 1: fifteen percent. It's actually set a record. Democrats in Congress
- 7:07Speaker 1: approval rating is at the lowest in the history of polling.
- 7:10Speaker 1: They forget to show you that part in the poll.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And you got these awful, awful people in Congress, all
- 7:17Speaker 1: of them. You just got to throw them all out,
- 7:19Speaker 1: one by one, anybody, it's been there over fifteen years.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Just throw them the hell out Chuck Schumer, the phoniest
- 7:27Speaker 1: guy in the world. Jilibrand seems better, but she just hides.
- 7:31Speaker 1: You know, she never see her, you never hear from her.
- 7:34Speaker 1: She's it's like she's in the witness Protection program. She's smart,
- 7:39Speaker 1: she just hides. And both these the two of them,
- 7:41Speaker 1: all they do is donor service. They just take care
- 7:44Speaker 1: of the donors all day. Otherwise they get absolutely nothing done.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And the guys that they're all over television, Adam Schiff
- 7:50Speaker 1: and those types, you know I'm talking the one's always
- 7:55Speaker 1: in the Trump Arrangement syndrome, just get absolutely nothing done.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Just talk, just do shows, looking for TV shows. Never
- 8:03Speaker 1: otherwise nothing gets done by them. Hey, when we come back,
- 8:06Speaker 1: Michael Goodwin, the greatest columnist in America. We'll talk to
- 8:09Speaker 1: him next on seven ten wor
