- 0:00I don't know if you know this, but I love conflict.
- 0:02because on the other side of conflict, there's growth.
- 0:06There's understanding, there's clarity, there's momentum going forward.
- 0:11And I heard this super awesome quote.
- 0:13I think it was Jordan Peterson.
- 0:16His quote goes like this, conflict avoided is conflict multiplied.
- 0:22And the first time I heard that, I was like, Oh my goodness.
- 0:26I know exactly what you're talking about because there was times in my life where I hid from conflict, where I avoided.
- 0:34Speaking my mind where I didn't stand my ground, when I didn't hold my space, and that just bubbled up into resentment.
- 0:44And then every time that person, whether they were doing it on purpose or not, anything they did that bugged me, I assigned intent to their actions.
- 0:53And so that conflict that I avoided by not holding my space and helping them understand that that my bubble was busted.
- 1:01Turned into this festering thing of resentment and frustration, and then bubbled into this victim mentality or even a victim state.
- 1:10Then I finally started just having the conversation.
- 1:16And I'll tell you what, most of the time.
- 1:18It works out well.
- 1:19People are like, Oh, I didn't know that was a thing, or they'll say, well, that's the way it's going to be.
- 1:25And then I get to make a decision and move the hell on or stay there and tolerate it.
- 1:29Either way, the next step is ultimately clearer after I go into the conflict.
- 1:37And so the question to you is.
- 1:39How much conflict are you multiplying because you have not confronted it?
- 1:46Be cool, and we'll talk at you next time.
- 1:49Peace!
