- 1:41this man doesn't need an ovation.
- 1:44I give him a lot of elevation because this guy has been on our
- 1:47show quite a few times. We love him.
- 1:50He is a Jacksonville Jacksonville Jaguar linebacker,
- 1:54and he was ranked 10th in tackles this season.
- 1:58He's one of the best linebackers in the NFL today.
- 2:02Ladies and gentlemen, we are talking to Jacksonville Jaguars
- 2:05linebacker Foyer. Oh, Luiken, what is up my
- 2:10friend? How are you?
- 2:12I'm good. We're good, man.
- 2:14I mean, I got a chance to watch good football this year.
- 2:17You were sensational, man. You really were.
- 2:20Every single year, every time I watch you play, I'm like this
- 2:23guy looks like he's 20 years old and he continues to play at a
- 2:27top level. And I've never seen a guy that
- 2:30wants to hit somebody. Every time the quarterback hikes
- 2:33that ball. It is is pretty amazing.
- 2:35And every year you're a league, you're always on top of the
- 2:39league in tackles. What does it take to be an elite
- 2:42tackler like you are in the NF? Li say a lot of will, I'd say
- 2:47obviously got to get off blocks. So technique that way,
- 2:50physicality and kind of just strain in order to get the ball.
- 2:53A lot of downs aren't, you know, designed for for they have a
- 2:56blocker for you when you're in the middle like that.
- 2:58So really just able to diagnose the play, use your hands or
- 3:01whatever you get off a block and everybody finishing at the ball
- 3:05and then you know, the the extra strain and physicality and will
- 3:09bring the guy down. That's the kind of the finish of
- 3:11the play. So you're kind of getting a
- 3:13sweet spot as the game goes on where you just feel like you can
- 3:16do bring anybody down. So hopefully hit that sweet spot
- 3:19kind of early in the game and then you feel like you, you
- 3:21know, of course to be regular. I like the sweet spot, but with
- 3:24my woman, you know, that's that's my sweet spot.
- 3:27But you know, I know a little bit about that.
- 3:29I know a little bit about shaking and bacon, but that's a
- 3:32whole nother story. Ladies and gentlemen, we're not
- 3:34here to talk about any of that. We're going to talk some
- 3:36football with one of the best tacklers in the NFL.
- 3:39So Foyer, obviously you have a new coach and this guy has been
- 3:43fantastic offensively, sound really developed.
- 3:47I believe a guy like Lawrence who needed a little bit more
- 3:52time, he's had multiple coaches over the last past year.
- 3:56Doug Peterson is a very well known offensive coordinator.
- 3:59Didn't really work out with a guy like Doug Peterson, but you
- 4:02bring in Cohen and he has been sensational.
- 4:04In his first year, he took your team all the way to the
- 4:06playoffs. What was it like being coached
- 4:08by one of the more unique offensive minds in the NFL?
- 4:12You know, it was good it was early in the year.
- 4:16You know, I think we we stuck with that run game a little bit
- 4:18more. So you see us kind of sustaining
- 4:21drives early in the game and I was just, you know, whether we
- 4:24scored it in, I was happy we were moving the ball this year.
- 4:27So they will come to the sideline and I kind of
- 4:29understood quick like eventually these are going to turn into
- 4:31touchdowns if they weren't already touchdowns or three
- 4:35points, just the way they were able to move the ball on the
- 4:37ground. We're able to do that early in
- 4:39the year is going to open up the passing game for us.
- 4:41So just the way that we're moving the ball, I was excited
- 4:44they come back to the sideline like either they scored or
- 4:47didn't score. I was excited like we're not on
- 4:50the field the whole game. Then obviously just keep giving
- 4:53them the ball back. They're going to get a couple
- 4:54first. They're going to be in scoring
- 4:56position. So that's kind of how it
- 4:57started. Then you saw, you know from that
- 5:00the the puzzle pieces or the chess match that he was playing
- 5:04out there with all the pieces that he had and they saw it all
- 5:07get aligned and we go on that run and it was really just to
- 5:11dictate what they wanted to do out there.
- 5:12Obviously some games we started out maybe a little slower, but
- 5:15as soon as he got to to the fellows and sets that he wanted
- 5:19build it through formations and stuff like it was, it was fun to
- 5:23watch. And then Trevor obviously was
- 5:25been the benefit of all that beneficiary to all that.
- 5:28The way he was playing, the confidence that he gained to
- 5:30kind of go out there and do his own stuff, make his own checks
- 5:33really from times and kind of ball out there was cool to see.
- 5:38So one of the big things with you guys was the run defense
- 5:40this year, top five in the league and a lot of the teams
- 5:42that made the playoffs this year and went far in the.
- 5:44Playoffs. Were tough.
- 5:47Oh, you were number one. Yeah.
- 5:48And people keep saying the Patriots are #1 I guess they
- 5:50were lying to us. But.
- 5:52Number one top, top one right. Yeah.
- 5:54So I, I when we first had you on three years ago, there was a lot
- 5:58of emphasis on the on the, on the passing defense that spread
- 6:00offenses now. And you kind of saw it switch
- 6:01back with the Eagles winning the Super Bowl last year.
- 6:03And then you're seeing all. These like powerful.
- 6:04Run games this year, like do you think it's kind of transforming
- 6:07back to that maybe like maybe spread or more exotic running
- 6:10type teams and we run defenses like you guys like was that a
- 6:13big point in emphasis going in the season that maybe
- 6:15stylistically? Even with the Eagles game or
- 6:18even if you play like a team like the Chiefs who were kind of
- 6:21you think they're known for passing the ball, stopping to
- 6:23run is way to dictate the game. That way you can like have split
- 6:27their playbook in half. They feel like they can't get it
- 6:29to 2nd and short second, medium 2nd and yeah, 6 and less.
- 6:36Their playbook shrinks a lot. So they're stopping the run on
- 6:39early downs allows your pass rushers to really wreak havoc.
- 6:42Or you know, if there's I'm going to say scare.
- 6:45I mean, it looked like they were very scared of our pass rush the
- 6:47whole year. We got so many hurries, but they
- 6:49ended up throwing quick game in screens.
- 6:51A lot of the third downs where you know, a lot of guys get
- 6:53sacked. They didn't even want to hold
- 6:55the ball. Or if you like stand up 0
- 6:57pressure, look, they'll get rid of the ball or maybe bring in
- 6:59the match pro to try to Chuck one up.
- 7:01You stop the run getting ready to dictate what the offense does
- 7:04on on the defense. So that was that was big for it.
- 7:08We always had the pieces kind of just the details within it, you
- 7:11know, and everybody talks about doing your job, doing your 111,
- 7:13but really just trusting how you fit in that that gap piano
- 7:19skiing, you got to fit, you know, in the puzzle piece, you
- 7:21got to fit in the right place. But everybody doing that play
- 7:24in, play out, you know, big guys have to do first down boots,
- 7:28screens and stuff, try to get us off track instead of us playing
- 7:32on legal goal. We are talking to Jacksonville
- 7:34Jaguars linebacker Foyer Luiken. I, I love that Luiken.
- 7:41You know, I love it, man. By the way, I, I, I ordered your
- 7:47jersey. I, I, I bought a jersey
- 7:49recently. Now, a lot of guys on this show
- 7:52make a lot of jokes. I'm one of those jokester guys.
- 7:55I get jerseys just to make fun of people.
- 7:57And there's a guy on your team that was drafted.
- 8:01He was a Heisman Trophy winner. He was knocked out early in the
- 8:05season, 10 games into the season.
- 8:07I'm not a big fan of OK, I've I've met him at the Heisman
- 8:10dinner. I met him at the Heisman dinner.
- 8:13I he's, he's got a unique personality.
- 8:16There's no question that. He does.
- 8:18And he's very cocky, he's very confident.
- 8:21There's a lot about him that I might not know as far as the
- 8:25define perspective of who he is as a person.
- 8:29You worked with Travis, AKA the Gremlin Hunter.
- 8:33That's his nickname on this show.
- 8:34There he is right there. Just so you know, Mr. Gremlin
- 8:38himself. Now, I don't know if Travis
- 8:41knows that I created that. There it is.
- 8:43He's looking at it. I gave him the nickname and it's
- 8:45been really all over social media.
- 8:47If you look up Travis the Gremlin Hunter, that's me.
- 8:50I'm the one who gave him the nickname.
- 8:52And here's the thing, I think he could be a good player in this
- 8:56league. I don't think he should be a
- 8:58dual type of player. I don't.
- 9:00He's either going to be a corner or a wide receiver.
- 9:03Obviously, Cohen is going to have to figure out.
- 9:04The organization is going to have to figure out.
- 9:06I think he should be a corner. A lot of people thought he
- 9:09should be a wide receiver. Tell us a little bit about your
- 9:12connection with Travis the Gremlin Hunter, and what type of
- 9:16player is he? I see him on a lot of television
- 9:18commercials. He's all over the place.
- 9:21He likes dancing and prancing and doing all that other stuff.
- 9:24What type of person is he? Yeah, I was actually for
- 9:27fortunate to see him when he was still in high school when I was
- 9:30in Atlanta. I think he's from that Georgia
- 9:31area. Doing that over the year, a lot
- 9:34of people were training the same gym up in northern Atlanta.
- 9:38So I I seen him as like a highly touted recruit and they told him
- 9:43like he's always going to be Next up.
- 9:44He's going to be really good. So I saw him kind of younger.
- 9:47So when I see him now, obviously as the as the player he is and
- 9:51there's the all the hype around him and stuff, I still see him
- 9:53as that that kid in high school. I mean, he was quiet.
- 9:57He don't really say much. I think maybe, you know, you
- 10:00have this grumbling idea of him. I feel like everybody has a kind
- 10:04of persona that they like put on as a shell when you don't know
- 10:08him and when they're nervous, they're like, you come up to me.
- 10:10I never talked to you before. You might think I'm like stuck
- 10:12up just because I don't really say much.
- 10:14You know, I heard people think I was.
- 10:16I think I'm so smart as I just don't really know you.
- 10:18So I don't really know what to, I don't know how to approach
- 10:20you. Like when you break down those
- 10:22walls, I'm way more comfortable with a person and stuff like
- 10:25that. I'm a jokester and all that
- 10:26stuff. But if I don't like, I don't
- 10:28really have much to say to you. So maybe you know, you seeing
- 10:32him for the first time, like that's just how he is.
- 10:34That's what he's comfortable showing out to people that he
- 10:37don't eat in places he's not really comfortable because
- 10:39that's who he's had to be, to be honest.
- 10:41Like all these cameras are around him as a kid, as a
- 10:44brother. Yeah.
- 10:45High school and high school into college through the Heisman
- 10:48candidate. Like all these cameras around
- 10:50him and they're expecting him to be a certain type of way.
- 10:53Like all these commercials, like they're expecting him to be
- 10:55this, this athlete. And everybody puts these
- 10:58athletes up on pedestals. Like he's not allowed to be his
- 11:01goofy kind of, I wouldn't call him a nerd of source, but you
- 11:05know, he's on twist and all that.
- 11:06Like he's not allowed to be who he is when he's comfortable.
- 11:09And I'm sure many people know him, you know, as that as that
- 11:11person when he's comfortable. So I'm sure you get to know him
- 11:14more. And then I got to know him more
- 11:16and see him more. You know, when he first got
- 11:18there, like, yeah, he was quiet and maybe people could have said
- 11:22he was, you know, full of himself.
- 11:24I'm looking at him like now he said, you know, you're not going
- 11:26to call himself nervous, but everybody's going to be nervous
- 11:28to perform and live up to expectations and hype.
- 11:30So I can see right through that. I'm not going to say he was
- 11:33nervous though, but like he wants to do well for the team
- 11:36when he wants to prove it to himself and all that stuff.
- 11:38So a lot of it kind of just self talk just to make sure that you
- 11:42know, he knows he's the player that he always wanted to be.
- 11:45And obviously as a rookie, we have a lot of things that you
- 11:48realize you don't know or realize you have to learn and
- 11:51grow through. And obviously he was doing that
- 11:54and you know, and, and learning at 2 positions at once.
- 11:57Like it, it's a lot on you. And he got hurt too.
- 12:00So that's something that he had never really been a part of,
- 12:03like a big injury. So you know, you stick around
- 12:06them and you get close with those walls come down.
- 12:08So I'm kind of seeing that right now when I go into the facility
- 12:11and see them, they're training and stuff.
- 12:13Like we're talking a lot more. So feel like you're going to see
- 12:17him become more of himself as these years go on, as he really
- 12:21becomes a player he wants to become.
- 12:22Now, Travis Etienne is a guy that I really liked.
- 12:26I've watched him grow as a player for Clemson and a lot of
- 12:30people thought he wasn't going to be a part of this roster.
- 12:33Early in OTAs, they were two other running backs on your
- 12:37roster. Some people thought that Travis
- 12:39Etienne was really the number 2 and then kind of fell in a lot
- 12:44of people's eyes and then all of a sudden he had a pretty good
- 12:47OTA. He looked good in a pre season
- 12:49and eventually won the job back And he again, a guy that I
- 12:53didn't draft this year in fantasy.
- 12:55And there's a reason why I draft him every single year because I
- 12:58love the guy. And then he doesn't, you know,
- 13:02he doesn't fit in expectations the way I think he should in
- 13:05fantasy sports. So I didn't draft him this year
- 13:08and I made a mistake because he was one of the more elusive
- 13:11running backs in the NFL. What do you think he changed
- 13:14this year as far as health wise and obviously on a football
- 13:18field that's made him the elite running back that he became
- 13:21again this year? Yes, that's my guy.
- 13:23That's one of my best friends on the team, Travis.
- 13:25So obviously started when we have to go against each other
- 13:29and training camps and stuff, but I just know I just saw the
- 13:33talent that he had and I called them my first got there Marshall
- 13:37fault because, you know, I thought similarities and he can
- 13:41catch up the backfield. He's good up with the grind.
- 13:43But then like he's kind of saying like his body don't
- 13:46really look like an NFL running back, but he's so explosive and
- 13:50fast and stuff. But he just didn't necessarily
- 13:52like if you look at him kind of looks a little not NFL running
- 13:55back He but you know, he got all the traits.
- 13:57So I kind of after our bad year, everybody kind of wanted to be
- 14:01better after that, whatever we're 4 and 13 a year and I told
- 14:05them what the business of the game was.
- 14:07I said, you know, a lot of people are talking bad about you
- 14:09and really us, everybody on the team right now, we're going to
- 14:12have new GM, new coaches and stuff that come in and it's
- 14:15going to be the contract year essentially.
- 14:16So you know, you don't have to give you a gift, you an
- 14:20opportunity to go out there and you're going to start from
- 14:23square zero. People are going to come in and
- 14:26have their ideas and maybe they might bring somebody else in
- 14:29that they like, you know, that that's going to be their guy,
- 14:32their pick, their free agency, whatever.
- 14:35But at the end of the day, like once you get an opportunity, you
- 14:37got to re prove it to because now you're not dealing with
- 14:41people who drafted you. You got to come in and re prove
- 14:43it. When you belong in the field,
- 14:45then you're going to come in and re prove that you deserve some
- 14:48fucking money. So I drafted him to my lift OTA
- 14:51lift team. And you know, I just saw him get
- 14:54more and more serious about everything and he what time he
- 14:58came in in the morning, What time like you didn't miss OTA
- 15:01lifting, just the way he's preparing for the game.
- 15:03We're talking about running styles, like where to hit the
- 15:06hole when it cut back, like in this mid zone scheme.
- 15:08I'm like, I'm seeing this back. You should watch this back does
- 15:11it well. And I was implementing that.
- 15:13You know, I'm able to challenge him.
- 15:14Like let's say he gets tackled by a fucking shoot, like while
- 15:18they fucking pick up his feet. Like that's my thoughts.
- 15:20Like I wanted him to get everything that he deserves.
- 15:22So I'm not going to say I'm easy for it, but I just know that he
- 15:24had definitely had a a mindset change and met him, you know,
- 15:29talking to me, always challenging me, telling me was
- 15:33pissed at me earlier in the year.
- 15:34I had a little couple little things went wrong with me that
- 15:37was kind of affecting my play. But he I'm disappointed you
- 15:40missed that tackle and this and that.
- 15:41I'm like, shit, you're right. Like stop feeling sorry for
- 15:43myself. Let's get better.
- 15:45And then, you know, we, we played well this year.
- 15:47And then obviously he's going to get whatever he deserves.
- 15:49But Jennifer, where he was or what the perception was of him
- 15:53two years ago to now, like I want to say it's complete 180,
- 15:57but he did what he's supposed to do in the back before.
- 16:00So to talk about something like the guys in the front 7,
- 16:01obviously Josh Allen got got got his money, one of the most
- 16:05underrated pass rushers, Trayvon Walker, I think made an impact
- 16:08kind of trying to prove himself at the end of his rookie
- 16:11contract after being the number one pick.
- 16:12And then Devin Lloyd was probably the best one on the
- 16:13team on second team All Pro. So talk about some of the
- 16:16improvements that those guys made this year.
- 16:18Yeah, everybody kind of, you know, we all had a bad year the
- 16:20year before and really people that we, we started off maybe
- 16:25four on one. We won a skid where we won like
- 16:273 or 4. We lost 3 or 4 or something like
- 16:30that. Yeah, we had to because we won
- 16:31the rest after that. Yeah.
- 16:39I mean, we had a lot of doubt hers, you know, obviously Devin
- 16:41started off hot. So Devin would, you know, he was
- 16:45really trusting the scheme and he was going through things kind
- 16:48of similar to Travis to where, you know, new guys came in and
- 16:51new coaches. Happy to prove yourself contract
- 16:54year, just stay the course. And he, you know, he's very
- 16:56religious and all the blessings came to him that he'd been
- 17:00praying for and working for. So I was very proud to see that.
- 17:03But he really just, you know, didn't go outside of himself,
- 17:06stuck within the game plan and really just executed and
- 17:08dominated his his role. And then obviously he was able
- 17:11to make plays off of that and just trust himself and his
- 17:14athleticism and he's the best in the league.
- 17:16So that was just so cool to see He got guys like Josh and
- 17:20Trayvon. We really just, you know,
- 17:22Trayvon kind of a similar situation, like he's trying to
- 17:24go out there and get what he deserves.
- 17:27He went through a little injury with his race and stuff was kind
- 17:29of sidelined him, but his gameplay did not switch up at
- 17:32all. Like the way that he played the
- 17:34game. So physically can really help
- 17:36us. And so they didn't get as many
- 17:37sacks of pressures that they got.
- 17:38Like what I was saying where we got these two guys on the edge
- 17:41where they're scared to get to 3rd and lost because of our of
- 17:44our pass rushing, our athleticism.
- 17:45They're just throwing screens and quit getting screaming boots
- 17:49like trying to get there. They're trying to get that facet
- 17:52of our defense out of the way because you can't really like
- 17:55they're sealing the edge on boots.
- 17:56Like that's the only way they can really push the ball down
- 17:58the field on this trying to get match protection and get the
- 18:01pass rushers like double block, double blocked and stuff.
- 18:04So he definitely like there's a game record.
- 18:07I want the stats to match it for both of them, Josh and Trayvon.
- 18:11But what they were doing for our team, you know, you can't really
- 18:14put a put words to it. And then similarly, like with
- 18:17the guy inside Devon Hamilton, you know, he was so important to
- 18:20our running game too. Like when he's in there all the
- 18:22way that he was playing. So everybody just played well,
- 18:26but they're just owning their roles and then playing for each
- 18:28other. So it's cool to see.
- 18:29We are talking to Jacksonville Jaguars elite linebacker Foyer
- 18:33Lewikin. You know Foyer, there's a guy on
- 18:35your team, Brian Thomas junior. I I think this guy as is as
- 18:40elite of a wide receiver in the NFLII really do believe this guy
- 18:45could be a top three wide receiver in an all of football
- 18:49this year. I don't know what happened.
- 18:51I don't know if he was hurt, he was unhealthy, but he wasn't the
- 18:54same player he was in his freshman year.
- 18:57He wasn't and I think this guy is so explosive.
- 19:00He has a tremendous amount of ability.
- 19:02He's so long. I watched him in the Pro Bowl.
- 19:05I know it's flag football, but the one hand catches the, the
- 19:08unbelievable ability technique wise on using his body and his
- 19:13strength to getting that ball. It it's it's absolutely amazing
- 19:16there. There might be 3 wide receivers
- 19:18in the league that has the speed, the length and the
- 19:23ability to do this. The things that he does on a
- 19:25football field. What type of player is Brian
- 19:28Thomas Junior and do you think this year was because of injury
- 19:33or something that was going on? It was affecting him on not
- 19:37having the season that he had in his first year.
- 19:39Yeah, I'm not, I'm not really in his head or nothing like that.
- 19:42So I can't really say where he was like mentally and stuff, but
- 19:45we all go through injuries or things that's nagging us
- 19:48throughout the year now. I'm excited to see what he comes
- 19:50back and does the next year. But obviously, like coming from
- 19:53his rookie year to to 2nd year, a lot of things like you just
- 19:57learn what you need to work on. Like you think people sometimes
- 20:00when you have success early, sometimes people see you and
- 20:02they're going to force you to maybe prove what you what you,
- 20:05which we haven't shown yet or going to keep putting you in
- 20:07positions where you're not excelling.
- 20:09Like they're going to like he was a very good, let's say beat
- 20:12ball because we're going to definitely try to take away that
- 20:14beat ball. They're going to fight him and
- 20:16do something else on the football field and see if he can
- 20:18excel at that as well. But whatever happened on early
- 20:20on, I think as the year went and it's a new scheme.
- 20:22So he has to understand how to run those routes and timing is
- 20:25always important. And stuff as the year went on,
- 20:27he started playing better. So I wasn't really concerned
- 20:29with it. What they call it like a
- 20:30sophomore slump. Whatever happened early in the
- 20:32year, like he just put it put it as something to look at and it
- 20:36motivates you to grow from or from because you know, now he
- 20:39has a role in the offense to where you have to stop so many
- 20:43people that when he does get his opportunities, they're going to
- 20:46be there for him. He's going to get his one on
- 20:47ones or whatever design plays like there.
- 20:50It's going to be sometimes like we need him to go make a play.
- 20:53But when those when those opportunities come, I know going
- 20:56into this third year, you know, fixing up the stuff that he was
- 20:58kind of battling through the 2nd year, you know, with a fresh,
- 21:03you know, new slate, fresh feet, you know, I got a lot of.
- 21:10Everybody that listens to the show knows I just love him.
- 21:13I I love him. I think he's that great of a
- 21:15player. I think I watched him in LSU.
- 21:17I said this guy is going to be a beast.
- 21:19I think he's the best wide receiver in this class.
- 21:22When we were talking about a Doonese and all those other
- 21:25guys, everybody forgot about this guy.
- 21:27He, there were three other guys in front of him and they were
- 21:29like, well, he's good and I think he's more than good.
- 21:33This guy is going to be explosive.
- 21:35His freshman year was as good as anybody's.
- 21:37And I said he's better than a Dunes and he's better than this
- 21:40guy. He's better than that guy.
- 21:41And I still think he's an elite player and he's going to get a
- 21:43chance. But you guys made it to the
- 21:45playoffs and it was an amazing season and you were matched up
- 21:49against the Buffalo Bills. And I always watch it for you
- 21:52because I, I, I'm a big fan of yours because you've been on our
- 21:56show. So I, I'm always rooting you on.
- 21:58I want you to do so well. And I watch Josh Allen play and
- 22:03this guy has a heart that I've never seen a player have.
- 22:08I mean, this guy will go out there, put his body on the line
- 22:11for his teammates, put his heart on the line when it comes to
- 22:15losing games and and going up there talking to the media and
- 22:18and then breaking down and crying.
- 22:20I think he's a, he's a great person to just fall in love with
- 22:24as a personality. But when he's on a football
- 22:26field, he's almost impossible to tackle.
- 22:28He's huge. And I, I watched you in the
- 22:31playoff game, you were all over the place and you were hating
- 22:35him. And this guy was just bouncing
- 22:37off of everybody was like a ping pong ball and you were the
- 22:40racket. What type of player is Josh
- 22:42Allen? Why is he so hard to tackle?
- 22:45He's a big, you kind of look out of tight end body, I'd say.
- 22:48You got a tight end body, but he still runs fast.
- 22:50And then obviously with the the way the quarterbacks protected,
- 22:54you got you can't approach him like a damn tight end.
- 22:56So a lot of times he's pump faking and stuff and he's
- 22:59approaching the lines pretty much pump faking looking
- 23:01downfield. And you know, you can't, you
- 23:03know, tackle in the normal way, which you're told to tackle in
- 23:05the normal way, but it's, you know, the balls in your face
- 23:08when he had the ball like this. Yeah, it kind of makes you look
- 23:10when you're distracted by the ball.
- 23:12And obviously you can run through on tackles, which most
- 23:15quarterbacks don't. I'd say they're half sliding.
- 23:17He's not sliding at all. He's going to run through all
- 23:19that. And then yeah, he understands
- 23:21when you're in ample, he can see the MP.
- 23:23He can kind of make a drop back look like a draw just because he
- 23:27decides all he's kind of towards the red zone is my time shines
- 23:30going to run through arm tackles, get those 6-7 yards
- 23:33that way, which kind of break it open.
- 23:34Like I feel like in our game, there's a couple boots or
- 23:37keepers he kept, but it was most of them, them quarterbacks
- 23:39sneaks towards the end of the game, which he runs it
- 23:42differently that they call it touch push, not really touch
- 23:44push. They just run that sneak with
- 23:45the tight end kind of pushing them from behind, but they ran
- 23:48it differently. But Philly were like failing,
- 23:50trying to get low and he just stands up and then because you
- 23:53can't bring them down, you know, one-on-one trying to step, stand
- 23:56up. Then everybody gets behind him,
- 23:58he's lifted in the air and they just keep pushing them forward.
- 24:00So what they had going there with definitely a new that was
- 24:04an interesting little wrinkle to the push push that's really
- 24:07sneak. But he just knows his body going
- 24:09to stay up and they're going. It was crazy.
- 24:12Who? Props to him.
- 24:14I got a question for you, who do you think would win in a Twister
- 24:16contest, you or him? What's Twister?
- 24:21You never played Twister. Yeah, you spin and there's like
- 24:24colors and you like you put your body on a.
- 24:26Lot Why am I playing Twister with him?
- 24:30What are we doing? You got a life or so much you
- 24:33know. He's married, he has a he has a
- 24:38kid on the way. That's.
- 24:47Pretty funny actually. Why am I playing Twisted with
- 24:50him? I'll just shift to.
- 24:53Another quarterback. That you used to play with in
- 24:55Matt Ryan, who actually got a front office position with the
- 24:57Atlanta Falcons recently, they actually invented a new football
- 25:00operations position just especially for him I.
- 25:03Wonder why? So was there any inklings when
- 25:05you when you knew him, when he was when he was with Atlanta
- 25:07that you would think he would get a head coach, get a
- 25:10executive position like this? And, like, what do you think is
- 25:12the mindset for the Atlanta Falcons moving forward with the
- 25:15new head coach and chemist Stefanski, and kind of a shift
- 25:17in change that they're making? I think the fans, I think the
- 25:21run game that he had, I don't really know much about him.
- 25:25I know he went to Penn or something like that.
- 25:26Like I met him at the Ivy League dinner.
- 25:28I think we were saying that like the run game that he likes or
- 25:33Atlanta's line and Dijon are very well suited for that.
- 25:37Yeah. I think Atlanta, I mean, just
- 25:39being there, they always, they want to get more physical up
- 25:42there. That's the way to establish the
- 25:43run game and nominate the NFC South.
- 25:45You could be the most physical team in the NFC South, control
- 25:48the time of possession, you probably go and win post those
- 25:51games that that vision just dating back from when I was
- 25:54there, I think the Saints at the time was winning it.
- 25:56And then obviously when Brady came, obviously he was winning
- 25:58it. But those are teams that did
- 26:00have a run game while while they were on top.
- 26:03So I think Matt Ryan that pictured him, I don't think he's
- 26:07going to be a coach per SE, but I could definitely see him being
- 26:10a personnel handler like this team builder in Atlanta, just
- 26:16because, you know, great leader and then a great evaluator of
- 26:21men as a person and stuff. So obviously you got to look at
- 26:25the talent, but in order to build a team, you got to have
- 26:27the right people in the building.
- 26:28So I think them hiring him is to do that, to evaluate the coaches
- 26:34that are coming evaluate. I think he just hired the GM
- 26:36actually. He just seen so many people in
- 26:39the NFL. He knows what teams look like
- 26:40when they're good and runs the teams when they're good.
- 26:44Sure, they trust his opinion on who they have building.
- 26:48For you, you're one of the best tacklers in the league, and we
- 26:50said that over and over and over again.
- 26:51So far in this interview. You are as good as anybody in
- 26:55the NFL. And we talked about technique.
- 26:57So everybody wants to know, and I'm sure a lot of football fans
- 27:01out there want to know, you faced all the top quarterbacks
- 27:05in the NFL. Who is the hardest to takedown 1
- 27:09and who is the best quarterback so far in your career in the NFL
- 27:13you've played against? Who's the hardest to takedown?
- 27:15Yes, Lamar Jackson, probably gonna be the hardest to takedown
- 27:18if you can touch him. I like the quarterbacks you
- 27:20tried like that's Herbie tried to run me over this year.
- 27:22I don't know what he was doing. Like that's a big tackle for
- 27:25him. Obviously we talked about Josh
- 27:26Allen he can run away from, but similar like if he tries to
- 27:30lower his shoulder on him. Not really too concerned about
- 27:33that. But Lamar, just elusive,
- 27:34especially when he decides that he's, you know, going to run so
- 27:38fast and then he's elusive like that.
- 27:41That's good. And my home, man, I don't know
- 27:42how big he is. Whatever.
- 27:44He's probably 30 lbs more than what the Sky report said.
- 27:47That's a big boy right there. He's a hell of a competitor to
- 27:50like, he'll lower his shoulder on you last second.
- 27:52He'll run through some stuff. He'll stay up.
- 27:55He kind of end up there like Roethlisberger.
- 27:58Roethlisberger's still athletic. Like he's staying up through
- 28:00hits and making throws and stuff.
- 28:02Like he's a big guy, bigger than people think.
- 28:06So yeah, he's pretty hard to take down, actually.
- 28:10And Trevor Lawrence was pretty hard to take down for Chris
- 28:12Jones when you guys won that thriller on Monday nights.
- 28:14Oh yeah, thank God. Well, who?
- 28:17But who's the best quarterback in the NFL?
- 28:19Who do you think is the? Mahomes to the best.
- 28:22You think? Mahomes a hell of a competitor
- 28:24too. Like the way he put like he
- 28:26plays to win the game. Obviously they didn't have their
- 28:28best year this year, but what he's able to do back there and
- 28:32willing his team to to wins and stuff.
- 28:35I don't think he turned. I don't I didn't watch him that
- 28:37much. I don't think he turned the ball
- 28:38up over like he's have crazy turnovers, though, just doing
- 28:42crazy self a little bit too much.
- 28:44Maybe he did a little less this year knowing that his team
- 28:47probably needed the ball a lot more this year.
- 28:50I don't know the stats on it, but just seemed like he was
- 28:52taking care of the ball a little bit more well, really well.
- 28:55Stafford still good. This this.
- 28:58That's a good ass. MVP.
- 28:59MVP. He's the best quarterback.
- 29:02They lost three times to the Seahawks, but he's the best
- 29:04quarterback. So he so Foyer has Matthew
- 29:08Stafford winning the MVP this year.
- 29:11Very interesting. Very, very.
- 29:12Interesting. I'd say that I said he's the
- 29:14best quarterback. Usually the best quarterback
- 29:18wins the MVP. Come on, Foyer.
- 29:19Foyer's petition. They're trying to give it the
- 29:23Drake man of the way. He didn't.
- 29:26Oh please. First of all, I don't know if
- 29:29you know this. The boy went 10 for 21.
- 29:31Yeah, but. But here is the facts foyer.
- 29:36I'm going to tell you this. Do you know that Drake May had
- 29:38the 5th easiest schedule in NFL history?
- 29:41Did you know that? I'm I'm saying I'm not saying
- 29:45who deserves and doesn't deserve an MVP.
- 29:47I just man, Stafford went crazy. Yeah, it did.
- 29:50I love Matthew Stafford. I always did.
- 29:52And he's the MVP in my eyes. Go ahead, Speedy.
- 29:55No, I was saying for you, I think it's petitioning for the
- 29:58MVP to not become a quarterback award all the time.
- 30:00You know what? Hey.
- 30:01Yeah. Take quarterbacks less, please.
- 30:07Hey, listen, if you could throw, maybe you could be the
- 30:09quarterback, you could be a dull.
- 30:11Fan No, it's it's hard. That's that's too hard.
- 30:14But all right, so you. Got.
- 30:16San Francisco Super Bowl 60, Drake May and the Patriots
- 30:22versus the one and only Sam Darnold.
- 30:25Yes, Jet fans, Sam Darnold in the Seahawks.
- 30:29Who do you got and why? I got a lot of friends on the
- 30:33obviously on both teams. I just never rooted for a Boston
- 30:37team to do anything since Rondo left, even though I got a lot of
- 30:40good friends with the Patriots. I hope they all do very well,
- 30:43but I can't. I'm not rooting for any team
- 30:44just because I can't really root for the painters.
- 30:47Don't like the Boston fans, but I'm rooting for all of them like
- 30:50a big win. I'm so happy for them.
- 30:52I love him more every You see this.
- 30:54This is why I love this guy. I love it.
- 30:56He can't stand the Boston fans. I can't stand the Boston fans.
- 31:00Yeah, Jeff, you hear it? I can't stand the Boston fans.
- 31:05No, he's a Rebirth chess fan now.
- 31:06They're nasty. They don't know how to respect
- 31:08people. And I like that you're a Rondo
- 31:10fan because I've always loved Rondo.
- 31:13I couldn't stand him on the Celtics, but I've always liked
- 31:16Rajon Rondo so. And.
- 31:19And he was a great first of all, he can rebound, he could score,
- 31:24he can assist. He was a great defender.
- 31:26I, I think people, Rajon doesn't get enough credit because he
- 31:30played with, I don't know, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen,
- 31:34nobody, nobody gives this. Girl's favorite coach Doc
- 31:36Rivers. Can't stand Doc, can't stand
- 31:39him. Yeah, they won a championship
- 31:41with Doc Rivers. Well, first, hold on, hold on,
- 31:43hold on, hold on. Who's calling the plays?
- 31:46Tom Thibodeau? Let's let's not hide behind the
- 31:49truth here. We all know Doc doesn't know how
- 31:52to call any plays. I'm not hurting.
- 31:55I'm not hurting anybody. Nobody's feelings.
- 31:57Doc Rivers is screwing up Milwaukee right now, and that's
- 32:00why Giannis wants out. I'm just helping you here, man.
- 32:03I know you're a basketball fan. We could go on and on and on
- 32:06about basketball, but we're not. We're talking a little football.
- 32:09So. So who you got?
- 32:10You got Seattle. If I was, if I was to bet
- 32:14somebody else's money, I bet Seattle.
- 32:16But I'm kind of pulling for the Patriots to do well.
- 32:20I know you, I know you have two, definitely two former teammates
- 32:23with the Patriots, with Mumma and Chase on any on Seattle.
- 32:27Enough. I have former teammates on
- 32:29Seattle. I don't really know everybody's
- 32:31at I trained with the guy. They're one of their backup
- 32:34safeties. Like he's playing more Ty Okada.
- 32:37OK. So I played, I've trained with
- 32:39him for the past five years, I feel like.
- 32:41And then Jalen Hawkins I played with in Atlanta, Easter safety
- 32:45for Patriots. They got the Ernest Johnson up
- 32:50there too. He was a backup running back for
- 32:52us here. One more person up there.
- 32:59They got a lot of, they got some, they got some guys that
- 33:01play with stuff. So I'm rooting for.
- 33:03I'm hoping they do well, but. For Yeah, I got a question I got
- 33:06to ask you. I got to ask you a question.
- 33:08Has anybody told you that you look like havoc for Mob Deep?
- 33:13Nah, ain't nobody. Nah, I never heard that.
- 33:17Do me a favor, when you get a chance, when you get off with
- 33:19me, go look at Havoc from Mobb Deep.
- 33:22You look. Exactly.
- 33:23Like him. You're identical.
- 33:26Yeah, because I've, I've done some work.
- 33:28I I'm a I'm a DJ. So I've been around them.
- 33:31I've been around Mobb Deep a couple of times.
- 33:33Prodigy may rest in peace. I I've, I've known the Mobb Deep
- 33:38for a long time. There he is.
- 33:40There he is, right there. Come on man, that's him.
- 33:44Low key, huh? Nick was like Roquan Smith,
- 33:46right? All that.
- 33:51I like Roquan. He actually, he lost a little
- 33:54bit more weight, but I mean he. Was a little bit he fresh he he
- 33:59young face for sure. Come on, you never heard of
- 34:01Shukwans? Come on, man.
- 34:02You know the track. But man, what are you?
- 34:05What are you going to be doing in the offseason?
- 34:07You're going to hang out with the fam, go, you know, go, you
- 34:10know, go to a nice Hawaiian, you know, place where, where you
- 34:14going? I go everywhere.
- 34:15I bounce around. I've I've been to New York, went
- 34:19down to Orlando last weekend, saw some Disney stuff.
- 34:23I see my I'm going to see my family soon for a little while,
- 34:26my mom and dad and brother running some errands in Saint
- 34:30Louis and yeah, kind of bounce around between here and or there
- 34:34in Florida for the offseason. I hate Florida.
- 34:38Did you know it's going to It's going to be snowing in Florida,
- 34:41in Orlando? Did you know that it's going to
- 34:43be snowing? In Florida, yeah, that's crazy.
- 34:46Yeah, I'm missing it. Already snowed in Saint Louis?
- 34:50I like Saint Louis by the way, I love, I love all that like the
- 34:54steaks and the ribs that they have over there there.
- 34:57It is so good over there and I love BBQ.
- 34:59So Dallas is a good place to have BBQ.
- 35:02Saint Louis is another good place.
- 35:04Georgia is also a nice good place to get some BBQ.
- 35:07So I like it. I really do.
- 35:09And as a you know, I travelled around the the country, so I
- 35:12absolutely enjoy it. But anyways, man, we love you
- 35:15man, and I I'm rooting for you. I always root for you and I I
- 35:18think you're a great guy. I think everything that you do
- 35:20for not only for the NFL, for some of the kids and and and
- 35:24really the the way you developed into the player that you become
- 35:27is it's pretty amazing. And I'd love to get you on
- 35:30before the season starts so we can talk about the season and
- 35:33see where you see the Jaguars in going into two thousand 2627.
- 35:38So congratulations on a great, successful season.
- 35:42And we'll have Jabba on next time because Jabba's flying to
- 35:45New York because he's working with Barstool and he's been
- 35:48busy. He's he's a very busy man, but
- 35:52he'll be on next time. But we love you.
- 35:53Keep up the good work and we'll talk to you soon.
- 35:55Appreciate you have a good rest of your night.
- 35:57You too, my friend. Foye.
- 35:59A fantastic personality, one of the best.
- 36:03One of my favorite guys on the show.
- 36:04Always comes on the show and always gives us good takes.
- 36:08Very clear with his words. Doesn't really beat around the
- 36:12Bush. He'll tell you how it is.
- 36:14He doesn't hold back anything And and like I said,
- 36:18personality. That's why this guy is one of
- 36:21the best tacklers in his league. This is why everybody, I, you
- 36:25ask anybody in the NFL, it, it will give you your top ten sack
- 36:30guys, tackle guys. Foyer is always amongst the
- 36:33league's favorites. So, and I love him and I've
- 36:36been, you know, we've been interviewing him when he went,
- 36:39when he came from Atlanta and he went to the Jacksonville
- 36:43Jaguars. And I remember it was the first
- 36:44year he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars when we
- 36:46interviewed him and I said, and he was the best tackler in the
- 36:49league. And I said, what is it like
- 36:51being the best tackle in the league?
- 36:52He says, am I? I didn't even know that it was.
- 36:56It was three. It was three months after that
- 36:57amazing playoff comeback they had against the Chargers.
- 37:00Oh man, He, I, he, you could tell he doesn't care.
- 37:03He doesn't care about numbers or statistics.
- 37:05He just cares about winning. And I think with with a leader
- 37:08like that, he's one of the assistant captains of the team.
- 37:11They're going to have a chance to win.
- 37:12He's still fairly young. I think he's 2728 years old.
- 37:16I, I think he could play another two or three good years at the
- 37:18top level that he is. And he's just a fun, outgoing
- 37:22person. And, and you want to know
- 37:24something Everybody had one of my friends is texting me.
- 37:26He's like, what did you take? So I, I took like this like
- 37:29anxiety pill, like stress pill today.
- 37:33And she says, Oh, it doesn't make you drowsy, doesn't make
- 37:35you like dizzy or something. I'm going to tell you this right
- 37:37now. I don't know what I took, but
- 37:39throughout the show I've been trying to keep my eyes, you
- 37:43know, like on target and be able to.
- 37:46They asked. I was telling, I was telling
- 37:47scoops during the break when we went to the sportsman, I said,
- 37:50man, I, you know, I didn't think I was going to feel this tired,
- 37:54this drowsy, this, you know, this terrible.
- 37:56I'm going to get through this. I'm going to fight through this.
- 37:59But after the show, I'm going to be like, you know, one of those
- 38:03guys. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 38:04we call this This is the Remix. Another one.
- 38:10Remix. This is the Remix remix.
- 38:15All right, guys, welcome back to This Is the Remix.
- 38:20You hear the original song right now, we're going to give an
- 38:24original take that Errol gave a little while back.
- 38:28It's going to bring the music down just a tad over here.
- 38:32So here it is, Speedy. I'm going to bring this down.
- 38:36You're going to pop up the original take that Errol had.
- 38:39When it's done, we're going to hit the drop one more time and
- 38:42then we're going to put the remix beat on.
- 38:44And Errol, you can either agree with what you said, take back
- 38:49what you said, or go somewhere half in between.
- 38:52Here's your shot. On This is the Remix love about
- 39:00Drake May thinking that he's going to be a top three
- 39:03quarterback in the league. Mikey C will be dancing around
- 39:07in this studio. If he's right, he said three
- 39:10years, Drake May will be a top three quarterback in this
- 39:13league. He's on drugs.
- 39:15I think Drake May could be really good, but top three
- 39:18quarterback now he's sniffing something.
- 39:20And whatever powder he's sniffing from Mexico or
- 39:22Amsterdam. Share some with me, Mikey,
- 39:25because you have no idea what you're walking into.
- 39:29And I want to ask Mikey see when we do our fantasy draft if he's
- 39:33actually going to dig into his pants and draft Drake May when
- 39:37it comes to his quarterback play.
- 39:38I guarantee you he won't, because nobody's stupid enough
- 39:42to believe it except Mike. And if Mikey sees right, he's
- 39:45going to be like, I'm not giving his head right?
- 39:48As I always say, eat shit Mike, I'm not doing.
- 39:54It remix. This is the remix.
- 39:58Errol. Oh man.
- 40:08Well, just so everybody knows, Mikey did draft Drake May in one
- 40:12of his leagues. So I was wrong about that.
- 40:15I did not think Drake May this year.
- 40:18Well, obviously the schedule bowled well for them and the
- 40:21Patriots, but you play who's ever, you know, whoever you
- 40:24matched up against, Drake May was a top three quarterback in
- 40:27the league. So I was wrong about that.
- 40:28I was shocked that Drake May had the season that he had and if
- 40:32you look at his numbers, they were very impressive. 4394
- 40:35yards. He had 31 touchdowns, so only 8
- 40:38interceptions. So he looked good in the regular
- 40:41season. But I said during the season
- 40:44that I want to see him against top and talent and when they get
- 40:48into the playoffs, can he compete against the top ten top
- 40:52and talent in the AFC or in the NFC?
- 40:54If they go, I didn't think they were going to the Super Bowl.
- 40:57And I'll say this, I was wrong about Drake maybe in the top
- 41:00five quarterback at any point in his career, especially the way
- 41:05he has been this year. I do not believe he's a top five
- 41:08quarterback amongst the league's best only this year.
- 41:12We'll have to see if he does it back-to-back years.
- 41:14But here's the thing, what I've seen in the playoffs tells me
- 41:19he's not an elite quarterback. He's not a top five quarterback.
- 41:23Is he a top ten quarterback? Absolutely deserves a lot of
- 41:26credit and his development. It's only his second year.
- 41:28He's only going to get better under Mike Raybould.
- 41:30This is his first year under Mike Raybould.
- 41:32It was very impressive, but to say that he's a top five
- 41:36quarterback, besides the great year he had, I have to see it
- 41:39multiple years before I'm going to go and correct myself.
- 41:43I'll take back what I said. I'll eat my words that in his
- 41:47second year, he wasn't he, he wasn't going to be a top three
- 41:50quarterback. I was wrong about that.
- 41:52But I have said it over and over and over again.
- 41:54You got to prove yourself in the playoffs.
- 41:56I don't care if they're in the Super Bowl.
- 41:57They're not in the Super Bowl because of the offense.
- 41:59They're in the Super Bowl because of their defense.
- 42:01So take that, ladies and gentlemen, but I'll admit I was
- 42:04wrong about Drake May a little bit.
- 42:08Wow, this is the remix, Speedy. I think somebody might be
- 42:15calling in. Yeah, I think we might have a
- 42:17rebuttal on the line. Who's this?
- 42:20Who do we have on the phone? Well, well, well, about time you
- 42:24start eating some krill I. Figured you called.
- 42:30Now, when you realized that the master always teaches the
- 42:35students, oh hold on, what's the real?
- 42:38What's 1? Master teaches the student.
- 42:42First of all, you are my student and I taught.
- 42:45You even remotely. Get out of here.
- 42:47What drugs are you on? What?
- 42:49Cool. Video I taught you nothing.
- 42:51You taught me nothing. You've lost the will to
- 42:54understand what you're talking about out of that pea brain of a
- 42:57snatch. Of yours out of left field, it's
- 43:00not even. Really.
- 43:00I'm so out of left field because you were right about 1.
- 43:04Bottom one come back to Earth. Out of one.
- 43:07About listen about time that you're admitting even now I.
- 43:11Admit all the time. Stop it.
- 43:12I'm more shocked. That it happened so quickly
- 43:16because I gave that within that five years.
- 43:18Dude, he had the. He's already there.
- 43:20Dude, he had. Dude he had the 5th easiest
- 43:23schedule in the. NFL OK, listen, you know what
- 43:26everybody says? He had the 5th easiest schedule
- 43:29in NFL history, in history had no weapons.
- 43:33Really. He had no fuck.
- 43:34Oh, don't. Tell me Jeff R Dix is not a good
- 43:38weapon. On his last play, they have.
- 43:40Good running games. They their their offensive line
- 43:42was a good offensive line. Your defense was elite.
- 43:45What are you talking about? Have you?
- 43:47Lost your mind, your defense. I'm talking about offense.
- 43:49That's. A weapon defense is a weapon.
- 43:52About the defensive play, what is it talking about?
- 43:54The quarterback play? All right, we're talking about
- 43:56how Drake May has put himself up there.
- 44:00He. Played against bad secondaries.
- 44:02He played against bad secondaries.
- 44:05What are you talking about? The secondaries he's played
- 44:07against were bad. That's right.
- 44:10That's right. Do you want me to go through the
- 44:12games that he just won? Do you want me to tell you where
- 44:15they're ranked? That's right.
- 44:17That's right. What?
- 44:18Is it What what what else? What other excuses you want to?
- 44:20There's no excuse, Mike. You can never eat your crow.
- 44:24You can never eat your words. I will You never, You never, you
- 44:27never. You never have.
- 44:30You never have to admit. Really.
- 44:33I admitted it. What are you talking about?
- 44:35You're not 90% right. You're not even close to 90%,
- 44:38right. You're like 40% right.
- 44:41Yeah, Get out of here. I have gotten you so many times
- 44:44and you. Are making up excuses.
- 44:46You have lost your mind. Lost it.
- 44:48I get it. You know many times.
- 44:51You know how many times I've beaten you in an argument?
- 44:54Get out of here. I'll give you a collection.
- 44:56My foot in your ass. Eat my foot in your smart ass
- 44:59suck. For the dog, I'll suck Wilson
- 45:02OK, good thinking this Wilson. What do you think about the kids
- 45:06are going to be the worst team in the next 10 years because of
- 45:10all their capital? Yeah, OK.
- 45:11And you're and you're, you're an automatic Patriots fan and
- 45:15you're an automatic. Patriots fan and.
- 45:17You're an automatic Patriots fan.
- 45:19You've lost your damn mind. You are a fake, fake fan that
- 45:24hides behind the weeds and everything.
- 45:26That's right. That's right, Yeah, a giant
- 45:32family. A long time ago, I told you I
- 45:34respect what they did. They sat down, what you would
- 45:38call it, and put Brady in and he took them over.
- 45:40And it's respectful that that team, he never took top money
- 45:45ever as a quarterback because he always wanted the team to put it
- 45:48right back in it. Oh yeah, I thought that was
- 45:50respectful and the only guy that could win rings.
- 45:52Now you got another guy in the division that's going to win
- 45:55rings, too. Really.
- 45:56Who isn't that crazy? Who AFCE Who?
- 45:59Who's going to win That's not going to win?
- 46:01Who's going to win? Rings aren't going to win.
- 46:02Who's? Going to win.
- 46:04Who? Mike Frable, you think the
- 46:06Patriots get out of here? The Patriot?
- 46:08OK, well, I'll make a bet on that.
- 46:11I'll make a bet on that. You got all the money on it.
- 46:13How you have the Patriots winning the Super Bowl?
- 46:16Put your money where your mouth in.
- 46:18Put your money. Put your money where your mouth
- 46:21in. Put your money where your mouth
- 46:23in. Be quite zipper.
- 46:25Put your money, put your. 2 grand. 2 grand say.
- 46:31I'll say you were. Wrong about Daniel Murphy.
- 46:34I you were wrong about Daniel Murphy.
- 46:36I could go on and on and on. You were born, you said.
- 46:40Daniel Murphy was gonna suck when he left the Mets.
- 46:42You said that, did you not? He had 1° a year in hell.
- 46:46You also said Zach Wheeler wasn't anything either.
- 46:48Wait, what? You said Zach?
- 46:50Yeah. Yeah, you said Zach Wheeler
- 46:52wasn't anything either when I said that.
- 46:53Zach I. Never said that, no.
- 46:55Yes, you did. No, no.
- 46:55Yes, you did. No, no, no, no, she did.
- 46:57You got your stories wrong. Really.
- 46:58Go back to the goddamn peak. Go back and listen.
- 47:01A million hours. Yeah.
- 47:02Go back to the peep. Yeah.
- 47:04I never said anything about Zach Wheeler.
- 47:06You said talked about Zach. You said Zach Wheeler was
- 47:08overrated. Who had the best stuff as a Met?
- 47:11And I said the grom, and this is both a the grom.
- 47:15You said this is when, when what's we call was the best
- 47:17pitcher in New York. Oh my God.
- 47:19It wasn't even the Grom and he said I think Wheeler is and
- 47:22Wheeler ended up becoming very good, but the Grom has a little
- 47:26bit better stuff. You're out of your damn mind.
- 47:28You're out of my damn mind. He doesn't.
- 47:31And if you ask anybody, Zach Wheeler has been more
- 47:33accomplished in over the last five years and Jacob the Grom.
- 47:36Really. OK, let me say, Young, did
- 47:38Wheeler win? It doesn't.
- 47:39Matter. You want to know something, and
- 47:41I'm going to say this, don't. Mean anything, I guess first of
- 47:45all, don't mean anything. So that's a wide word that's a
- 47:48that's a league wide accomplishment but doesn't mean
- 47:51anything. OK.
- 47:52All right, Mike, so you've. Lost.
- 47:55Mike, you've lost it 290% right. You're lost.
- 47:57Wheeler has been going good for those 2 1/2 years.
- 48:00So automatically annoys Wheeler because you know Wheeler's
- 48:04better because the Grom's been injured.
- 48:06Make make it make sense. What?
- 48:08Do you mean make it make sense? Zack Wheeler, Zack.
- 48:11Wheeler is better, Zack Wheeler is better.
- 48:15Health has something to do with being great.
- 48:18OK. So I don't want to hear.
- 48:22I think health has everything to do with being great.
- 48:24Yes. Yeah, being healthy and playing
- 48:27games makes you as great of a player as the guy that sits on
- 48:30the sits on the bench and rides the bench and because.
- 48:33He's had one or two good. Years.
- 48:34Oh, he's the greatest. Thinker of my friends that
- 48:37really did very well. So I got a question go ahead.
- 48:39The CROM was very healthy this year.
- 48:41Real it wasn't the CROM was in the Cy Young AL voting I believe
- 48:45had a very good record for all of a sudden.
- 48:47Really, really. I don't I I didn't see him in
- 48:49the Cy Young. He was in top five.
- 48:52He wasn't in the top three, so that doesn't mean anything,
- 48:55doesn't mean anything, doesn't mean anything.
- 48:57Nope. Doesn't mean, doesn't matter.
- 48:59Doesn't mean So young, is it Wheeler?
- 49:01Nope. That's all it matters.
- 49:02You know what, Mike? You're going to sit here and
- 49:04tell everybody you're 90% right, but you're oh, wait, I'll tell
- 49:07you you're 90% wrong, 10% right. I'll give you credit.
- 49:11I'll give you 10%. You're lost.
- 49:14You're lost. You're.
- 49:15You're dude, I'm not delusion. There's no delusion here from
- 49:18the great May podium. Let's go.
- 49:20You realize you're wrong? Nothing.
- 49:21New dude he beat nobody dude. What did he do in the playoffs?
- 49:24Who did is he beat in the playoffs?
- 49:26If if it wasn't for luck, they wouldn't be in the Super Bowl.
- 49:29So don't sit here and tell me. Oh, Drake May this Drake May
- 49:32that. He sucked.
- 49:33He sucked. Yeah, it was.
- 49:36He was lucky. Dude, he fumble.
- 49:37The ball four times against the Texas.
- 49:40If the Texas didn't screw up as much, they would have been
- 49:42knocked out. Yeah, it's the truth.
- 49:44Drake may look like crap against ball.
- 49:46Well, the fake. The Bonex lists Broncos.
- 49:50OK, they're honest to God. You're going to tell me and
- 49:53you're going to you're going to try to sell me.
- 49:54This it's a horrible game and they stop game because of the
- 49:58weather. Oh stop weather.
- 50:00Oh. And both MVP, right MVP, right
- 50:03MVP. Mikey, it was great to talk.
- 50:05To MVPMVP hey. Mike, Hey, Mike.
- 50:10Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford played in the
- 50:12snow. How did Heathrow threw?
- 50:14Pretty well. Threw pretty well.
- 50:16He threw pretty well. Stop it, Mike.
- 50:19Get out of here. Mike, you're going to.
- 50:20Make the ball. You telling me are you trying to
- 50:22sit there and compare? Stop.
- 50:24It has 10 times the better one. Oh, so that's what it is.
- 50:29The AFC is the easiest. Conference sports doing with no
- 50:34weapons is amazing. Nobody.
- 50:37He's beat nobody He's beat nobody.
- 50:43The Broncos suck, all right? The texting suck.
- 50:47Yeah, they suck. How did they have home field
- 50:48events? Dude, dude, they should have
- 50:50lost against The Jets, the team that you see suck so much.
- 50:53They suck, but. Listen, I'm not saying the
- 50:56Broncos are great. I never said that.
- 50:58I'm just saying why did the number one seed?
- 50:59Dude, who did they beat? Were they?
- 51:01Who did they beat? The Broncos?
- 51:03The number one seed. Who did they beat?
- 51:04I want to ask. You the Broncos, the number one
- 51:07seed. They suck.
- 51:07The AFC suck. It sucks.
- 51:11I'm sorry, who's the number one seed in the AFC?
- 51:13What do you mean I I know the Broncos?
- 51:15On home field throughout. Who cares?
- 51:17What does that mean? What does that mean?
- 51:19What does that mean, dude? What does that mean?
- 51:22So bad that they end up getting you know what, man?
- 51:24Put your thumb in your mouth and suck it.
- 51:26All right, That's a funny thing. Hey, I'll get you a pacifier.
- 51:29I love you. Holy shit.
- 51:30I love you, Mike. Goodbye, Mike.
- 51:33Love you, Mike. Mike.
- 51:35We'll get you on the show, right?
- 51:36We'll get you on the show. You can come into the studio any
- 51:38day and I'll. Argue my points.
- 51:43Smell my ass, that's all I can say.
- 51:45Just. Ask your question here bro.
- 51:46What because you think you're saying the Broncos suck?
- 51:48I'm curious, did Seattle sucks? Stay at home field.
- 51:51What are you talking about? Seattle's great all around.
- 51:54Hello answer the question don't go in.
- 51:56The Middle Seattle's look at the Seattle's in the best division
- 52:01in football, best division of football, By the way, the AFC
- 52:04East, by the way, by the way, by the way, by the way, the AFC
- 52:09East is one of the worst divisions in football, one of
- 52:12the worst, one of the the worst, one of the worst, one of the
- 52:15worst, one of the worst, one of the worst.
- 52:18You want to go back and forth? AFC is just one of the worst
- 52:21divisions in football. So stop.
- 52:23Stop trying to stop trying to sell me.
- 52:25First of all, any division with the chess is always the worst
- 52:29division. All right, goodbye.
- 52:29All right, goodbye. Goodbye.
- 52:31I'm done. Thank you, Mike.
- 52:33I'm done. Seriously, I'm going to sit here
- 52:36and listen to this garbage. I love the guy.
- 52:39You know, he always thinks he's right.
- 52:41He has been right on some things and he says I owe him 2000.
- 52:44I don't know what he's talking about $2000.
- 52:47I I've never bet him $2000. So I don't know where he's
- 52:50coming up with that number. All right, So I admit there are
- 52:54times that he's been right, but I've been right on a lot of
- 52:56things too. Mike will never give me credit
- 52:58on anything I'm right with, but he'll say he's 90% right.
- 53:01He's not. I'll tell you where he's been
- 53:03right and I'm going to give it to you guys.
- 53:06Josh Allen, when Josh Allen got drafted out of that draft class,
- 53:09he said Josh Allen would be the best quarterback in the class.
- 53:12He was wrong about that. Lamar is, but he is definitely
- 53:15out of and I said Sam was going to be.
- 53:17Now Sam still has a chance. We'll see if Sam starts to
- 53:20develop and and wins multiple. If Sam wins a championship, you
- 53:26can argue and, and, and Sam could win multiple championships
- 53:29over there in Seattle. I would then you're going to say
- 53:32Sam Donald is the better quarterback.
- 53:34And I said Sam Donald was going to be the best quarterback in
- 53:37that class, not because he was a Jet, just because I thought he
- 53:41was an elite quarterback. And we'll see how he developed.
- 53:44He's still 28 years old, still has a lot of time, so we'll see.
- 53:46The only one that's been to a Super Bowl, actually a second
- 53:49Super Bowl. He was the backup for the 40.
- 53:51Niners So he was right about Josh Allen and he was right
- 53:54about Drake May, but he's been a right.
- 53:56He's been wrong about a lot of things.
- 53:58Speedy, am I wrong? We have gotten him on a lot of
- 54:01things that he has said where he has been really, really wrong.
- 54:07So Mike, I love you. I will never attack you as a
- 54:11person. You and my partner always been
- 54:14and I've always, I've always, you know, obviously because
- 54:17you're a little bit older than me, I've looked up to you.
- 54:19But you know, Mike, I've worked, I've worked with Mike for years.
- 54:22I've helped him grow in this industry and he's helped me grow
- 54:25because he's really changed my complexion of the the way I
- 54:30present myself on any radio show.
- 54:32I am different because of Mikey CI.
- 54:34Give him a little bit of credit because he's changed me.
- 54:37He's opened up my mind of who I am as a personality and let me
- 54:41be myself. And that's what I love about
- 54:43Mike. Say whatever you want about
- 54:45Mikey C and I have attacked him many, many times on and off the
- 54:48show. Mikey C is a dedicated
- 54:52personality and he also has a lot of faith in me.
- 54:55He's always come to me and says he's always told me that I'm one
- 54:58of the best in the industry. And I love you, Mike.
- 55:00I've always respected you. But there are things that come
- 55:03out of Mikey C's mouth that makes me sick to my stomach.
- 55:06That's all I'm going to say. nhl.com's Dan Rosen reports that
- 55:10the New York Rangers will be resting star yes Panarin until
- 55:15after the Olympic roster freeze next Wednesday, February 4th.
- 55:18The Rangers are calling it a roster management purpose.
- 55:22Interesting with general manager Chris Drury and the team
- 55:25exploring trade options for the bread man.
- 55:29As way as that what they call him, I don't know why they call
- 55:31him. After earlier this month
- 55:33announcing announced publicly that the team would not discuss
- 55:39a new contract with him until after the season when he would
- 55:43be a free agent. Panarin is in the last year of
- 55:47his seven-year $81,000,000 deal which he signed with the Rangers
- 55:51in 2019. NHL Networks David Pagnotta
- 55:56reports that the Kings and the Capitals have reached out to the
- 55:59Rangers about a potential Panarin trade and could give him
- 56:04a three-year extension right away.
- 56:06Reports say that the Sharks have also reached out to the Rangers
- 56:10about Panarin, but are less likely to extend him right away.
- 56:16Panarin only has 1,000,000 base salary and a 7 million signing
- 56:21bonus left on his contract, but the Rangers may still have to
- 56:26pay him some of the remaining salary even if they draw they do
- 56:31trade him. Panarin has nineteen goals,
- 56:34which is second on the Rangers this season only behind Mika
- 56:39Zibbinejad, and also has 38 assists and 57 points, which
- 56:44lead the Rangers and players this season.
- 56:49Well, well, well, Mr. Panarin. Well, here's what I'm going to
- 56:54say. Wherever Panarin goes, he will
- 56:58succeed. I think he's a prolific
- 57:01offensive option no matter where he goes.
- 57:03If he goes and plays with Ovechkin, that'll be fun to
- 57:05watch. He'll play on Ovechkin's line.
- 57:07That would be really cool to watch, especially with the
- 57:10Capitals possibly making the playoffs.
- 57:13He wants to play on a playoff run.
- 57:15He's never won. Well, he did win a Stanley Cup
- 57:17in Chicago, I think one year. Yeah, he's but he was like a
- 57:19third line player. And he's still a great player,
- 57:22let me tell you. I remember when he came into the
- 57:23league he was, I think if I'm not mistaken, he was a third
- 57:26round pick. I think at the Cup year was the
- 57:29last of the three Blackhawks Cups of his rookie.
- 57:31Year, yeah, and, and the Kings are interesting too, because out
- 57:35there on the West Coast, the Kings are young, talented, very
- 57:38aggressive team. I could see the King's Landing.
- 57:41A guy like Panarin. This is a guy that has a
- 57:45tremendous ability. I don't care if he's 34.
- 57:46I don't care if he's 40. The guy could still put the puck
- 57:49in the net. He still has a way and has a
- 57:51knack to putting the puck in the net.
- 57:53Those guys don't grow on trees. They really don't.
- 57:56If he played for the Islanders right now, he'd be second
- 57:59leading scorer on the Islanders. So I, I, I'm not going to say
- 58:03that Panarin wouldn't be a nice option if the Islanders were
- 58:05interested in moving to get him. And I don't think the Rangers
- 58:08would ever do that because he's one of their best players.
- 58:11But here's the facts. Panarin's had problems over the
- 58:15last couple of years, problems with women issues.
- 58:19There were stuff coming out, domestic violence situations.
- 58:22I think you remember that Speedy that the Rangers were trying to
- 58:27brush under the rug. They were stuff going on with
- 58:30him traveling to Russia in the offseason when the Rangers
- 58:33didn't want him to do that because of all the war and all
- 58:35the stuff that's going on over there across the sea.
- 58:39There's a lot and, and Panarin has his own personality.
- 58:43He does his own things. And I, I maybe being that he is
- 58:49one of the elite offensive options the Rangers have had in
- 58:51a very, very long time. I'm honestly, when you think
- 58:53about as far as great players, the last player that I can
- 58:57compare Panarin to was probably, I would say probably messier.
- 59:02Rick Nash was a good player when he came from Columbus.
- 59:05He really was, but he never really turned into the player he
- 59:09became when he was with Columbus.
- 59:11I I mean, I think he had 140 goal season with the Ranger.
- 59:14He and he never showed up in the playoffs.
- 59:16Panarin, he's up and down in the playoffs and really in the last
- 59:20couple of years he's disappeared.
- 59:21The no movement clause was is very interesting when it comes
- 59:26to Panarin. That means Panarin will have his
- 59:27choice on certain teams that he wants to be traded to.
- 59:31Same thing with Mika is a bit of Jazz.
- 59:33Same thing with a lot of these guys.
- 59:34And that's why I think Chris Jury is a complete fool because
- 59:38he's got six players, 6 important players that are
- 59:42making a lot of money. When it comes to the the Rangers
- 59:44cap, they have no movement clauses.
- 59:47And with that, that means they're in the driver's seat.
- 59:50The players are in the driver's seat.
- 59:51And, and again, I talk about the NBA being a player driven
- 59:54league, but there is no movement clauses in the NBA really.
- 59:59There are no, there's there's no trade clauses, but not no
- 1:00:03movement clauses. The NHL is completely different.
- 1:00:06The NHL has no movement clauses and no trade clauses.
- 1:00:10So they have two of them. And the fact here is Panarin is
- 1:00:15in the driver's seat. He can go wherever he wants.
- 1:00:18He really could, and I think he's going to make the decision
- 1:00:21on where he wants to go. He was going to go to a team
- 1:00:23that has a chance to win a Stanley Cup, a team that he
- 1:00:25feels comfortable playing at and and his ability to still put the
- 1:00:28bucket in it can still be a thirty goal scorer, maybe a
- 1:00:31forty goal scorer. I think that this guy is is
- 1:00:36still as dominant as any second tier offensive options the NHL
- 1:00:42has to offer. I think he could skill if he
- 1:00:46goes to the right team. He could score 40 goals in a
- 1:00:48season. I think he still has the ability
- 1:00:50to do that speedy. Yeah, 57 points for a team that
- 1:00:53doesn't skate very well, A-Team, that's gotten old with a lot of
- 1:00:55these veteran guys kind of underperforming all at once.
- 1:00:57The Banjad has played a little better, but still not great
- 1:00:59overall. JT Miller, his first full season
- 1:01:01back with the Rangers, has been up and down with injury.
- 1:01:03So I think him still playing like that, it's the
- 1:01:06circumstances shows that he could still be a top six
- 1:01:08contributor on a lot of those other teams.
- 1:01:10The Sharks are interesting 'cause they have a lot of speed
- 1:01:12on that team of Panera and can still skate.
- 1:01:14Maybe not to the same extent when he first came to the
- 1:01:15Rangers, but still enough where with that fast of a core around
- 1:01:19him is definitely suited for him.
- 1:01:22The Kings have always been looking for an offensive kind of
- 1:01:25top six filler guy. For years they've been very top.
- 1:01:27And a leader. Yeah, they've been top heavy
- 1:01:29with with Kempe having a great career over there with the Kings
- 1:01:32and they've rotated several other guys around in other small
- 1:01:35scale trades that have worked, but they haven't really had that
- 1:01:37guy that is that's a keeper for them.
- 1:01:39They've always been aggressive at the traded deadline but never
- 1:01:42have been the team that's gotten it.
- 1:01:43It reminded me of Minnesota for a while until Minnesota got
- 1:01:45Quinn Hughes this year. They were always in the market
- 1:01:47and never could get the pull the trigger on those trades or they
- 1:01:50traded too much in so they panicked on other.
- 1:01:53Deeds I watch out for the Kings, and I'll tell you why.
- 1:01:56This wouldn't be the only move that the Kings are going to
- 1:01:58make. They have a great farm system.
- 1:02:01They have a lot of good young players.
- 1:02:02Panera would be a great fit over there.
- 1:02:05Obviously he'll be a second line player, but he can always move
- 1:02:09to the first line, especially if he's put in the puck in the net.
- 1:02:12He still has tremendous speed. He's got one of the best hands
- 1:02:15in in the NHL still to this day. I you don't you can't teach that
- 1:02:19you can't teach goal scoring to anybody.
- 1:02:21This guy has the ability he has a knack.
- 1:02:24That's why they call. I guess that's why they call him
- 1:02:25the bread man because he knows how to put it in the in the
- 1:02:28pocket. You know, so I, I, to me, it
- 1:02:33makes a lot of sense with the Kings more than I would say with
- 1:02:36the Capitals, because the Kings need that offensive leader on
- 1:02:39the offensive side of the the pot, on the offensive side of
- 1:02:43the ice. I'm just interested to see if
- 1:02:46some surprise team sneaks out of somewhere to grab him up and
- 1:02:50scoop him up and put him in a position to succeed.
- 1:02:52Yeah, I was actually going to mention the Capitals.
- 1:02:54I don't like the fit as much because they're more of the
- 1:02:56physical power forward type team.
- 1:02:58I don't really think he would fit as much over there.
- 1:02:59And I know there was another article I was reading about the
- 1:03:02Florida Panthers because the same thing I mentioned.
- 1:03:03He's not going to. Panthers, yeah, the same thing I
- 1:03:05mentioned with Vegas a few weeks ago, like they're another team,
- 1:03:07Florida that loves to manipulate the cap, but there Florida is
- 1:03:09another one that's a power forward type team.
- 1:03:11I don't think he would really. Fit.
- 1:03:12I'm going to tell you a team that you better watch out for
- 1:03:15the Dallas Stars. They're another one I saw too,
- 1:03:17yeah. They're the team because the
- 1:03:19Dallas Stars, they're built to win.
- 1:03:21They always fall short. They have three straight
- 1:03:23conference finals. Yeah, they they can't get to the
- 1:03:25Stanley Cup Finals. And you add Panarin to that team
- 1:03:29and you only have to give up maybe 1 prospect and you put
- 1:03:31them with the talent that they have over there.
- 1:03:33Watch out. I mean, they'll be, everybody
- 1:03:36keeps talking about how Colorado's just going to drive
- 1:03:38themselves all the way to Stanley Cup finals.
- 1:03:39No, they're not. I don't think so.
- 1:03:41I, I think Dallas is dangerous. I think some of these younger
- 1:03:43teams that have a tremendous amount of speed and you know,
- 1:03:46the playoffs is completely different when, when it comes to
- 1:03:48speed and, and, and goaltending. All you need is a hot goaltender
- 1:03:52and you can win it all. So I I in Colorado's weakness
- 1:03:55goaltending. Yeah, it's interesting how
- 1:03:56aggressive a lot of those other teams will be, like the Sharks
- 1:03:59that are young longer. Like a team like Anaheim, you go
- 1:04:00back with Quemville, who you coached, who you coached with
- 1:04:04and with Chris Kreider with with True.
- 1:04:06But with all those other guys you played with, with the
- 1:04:07Rangers, like that feels like a natural fit with a team that
- 1:04:11just traded Trevor Zeigris as well to Philly.
- 1:04:13And Troy Terry, who was good at the beginning of his career as
- 1:04:15an offensive player, hasn't really been the young player
- 1:04:17either. So if they want to stay
- 1:04:18aggressive, they're I think third in their division right
- 1:04:21now. They're kind of like wavering
- 1:04:22with Seattle and some of the other teams with the wild card
- 1:04:24standings. But that could be the aggressive
- 1:04:26move with the cap space that they do have because even though
- 1:04:28they pay, they're taking on. True Crider's contract, they
- 1:04:30still have a lot of good contract besides that.
- 1:04:33So Joel Quenville, it's funny you mention him.
- 1:04:36Speedy is the guy who invented the nickname for our Tammy
- 1:04:40Panarin. It's just because his name
- 1:04:42sounds like. Then he should clean it up.
- 1:04:43If Quenville's giving him the name, you should be cleaning
- 1:04:46that name. Probably a bad sign.
- 1:04:47It sounded to him to him like Panera Bread, so he just started
- 1:04:51calling him Bread man instead of trying to pronounce Panarin I
- 1:04:54guess. You sure you want?
- 1:04:55He doesn't want his loaf. Sorry, sorry.
- 1:05:02I'm not going to touch that one with a tenth foot pole, but
- 1:05:05whoever gets Pinera and and I want to ask a question after I I
- 1:05:10say this, he's instant offense. This guy can just start offense
- 1:05:15out of nowhere. You could just have grinders on
- 1:05:17your line. He will get them points.
- 1:05:20He's gotten 89 points or more every season since 2021.
- 1:05:26He's fantastic except if you have him on a team like he's
- 1:05:32currently on where they're just not engaged.
- 1:05:35He is never going to play defense or back check.
- 1:05:38He just. He's never played defensively
- 1:05:40anyway though. Well, but you have to keep him
- 1:05:42engaged so he's passable defensively so that he's going
- 1:05:45to play at least in the team concept defensively.
- 1:05:50And what you've seen is he's just if he gets into the zone
- 1:05:54and his slick play doesn't work, then it's just an odd man rush
- 1:05:58the other way every single time. That's what happened the last
- 1:06:01year and a half with the Aaron. But he still get an 80.
- 1:06:04He got 89 points last year, he's got 58.
- 1:06:06He's on pace for another 80 point season again.
- 1:06:08But what are the Rangers going to get for him?
- 1:06:10That's my question. He's on an expiring deal.
- 1:06:13Not a lot. I mean, you would think that you
- 1:06:16should be able to get there's going to be people that want
- 1:06:19them. You're not going to.
- 1:06:20Get a second line forward. You're not going to get a first
- 1:06:22round talent. I I think you might get a player
- 1:06:26on somebody's, you know, in their farm system.
- 1:06:29That was a second round pick who a lot of people put them on a
- 1:06:33depth charts as a top five player.
- 1:06:35They might get something like that.
- 1:06:37The Rangers, if they're if they have the right guy making the
- 1:06:40choice they get, they get lucky. Hey, listen, listen, they got
- 1:06:43lucky with Fox. They made that move.
- 1:06:47They brought Fox in Carolina drafted him and Carolina had a
- 1:06:51an abundance of defensive talent.
- 1:06:54So they they gave up Fox and the Rangers got lucky with him.
- 1:06:57The Rangers gave up nothing for Fox.
- 1:07:00So I, I mean, and look at what Fox turned out to be.
- 1:07:03I mean he's an elite defenseman when he plays at the top level.
- 1:07:06So I, I just, I don't know if Panera being at his 34, if any
- 1:07:11team is going to budget giving him a top talent, but I, I and
- 1:07:15even a first round draft pick, I, I could see a second round
- 1:07:18pick probably. Yeah, probably.
- 1:07:20Especially in the West, we think there's going to be some level
- 1:07:22of a bidding war because I mentioned California teams plus
- 1:07:25Vegas plus Dallas. Like there's enough contending
- 1:07:27teams that'll do it. Who says Minnesota doesn't try
- 1:07:29either? Like they're probably an
- 1:07:30immediate team like that's in the running the Capitals and
- 1:07:33Florida's the only teams I've heard in the East.
- 1:07:35But again, would Panaron want to go to one of those systems that
- 1:07:38are more of a bruising type system with with?
- 1:07:41I will tell you this and if you're, if you're a fan, I mean,
- 1:07:44so Rokin is on a team care right now.
- 1:07:46I I don't know if anybody understands what he is doing
- 1:07:48right now. He's giving up one goal in four
- 1:07:51games, one goal. I think it's one goal or three
- 1:07:55games, one goal in three games and only I think it's two goals
- 1:07:59in four games. It's, it's like ridiculous.
- 1:08:01He's the leading. He's leading in expected goals,
- 1:08:03too. 6 shutouts on the season leads the league.
- 1:08:07I mean, he's been lights out. The team's lights out.
- 1:08:10Well, it just beat the Rangers two games in a row.
- 1:08:12It took I want to I want to tell all you Islander fans something.
- 1:08:16A lot of Island fans thought he lost something and after he came
- 1:08:19back from his back surgery last year, he came back from that
- 1:08:22back surgery takes a full year to absorb that kind of injury.
- 1:08:26Remember he was out for a all of pre season games and now you see
- 1:08:31what this guy was before he hurt his back.
- 1:08:36This guy is as good as any any goaltender in the NHL right now
- 1:08:40and he could win goaltender of the year.
- 1:08:42He could, he should right now. I mean, if the Islanders get
- 1:08:45into the playoffs as a top three seed, he's one of the reasons
- 1:08:49why the Islanders are at the top level right now.
- 1:08:51He has been unbelievable and he has got arguably the greatest
- 1:08:54goaltender teaching him and Patrick Wah.
- 1:08:56I mean, nobody could argue that Patrick Wah is probably the
- 1:08:59greatest goaltender. It's either him or Martin
- 1:09:01Brodor. You can argue that.
- 1:09:03And then I would say Eddie Jockerman.
- 1:09:04That would be the other guy. But it's pretty amazing what
- 1:09:08Sorokin is doing right now. Shaffer score tonight and it's
- 1:09:12the Rangers get swept by the Islanders right now and the
- 1:09:14Islanders are the third seed. They're actually tied for
- 1:09:18second. Pittsburgh is playing great
- 1:09:20hockey right now. That's.
- 1:09:21More surprising? Guess who scored the other goal
- 1:09:23for the Islanders tonight? Speedy can only be one person,
- 1:09:27Carson Soucy, who? Of course, by the way, by the
- 1:09:31way, the beef reached out to me and said, oh, you got this Susie
- 1:09:34guy, He stinks. He stinks.
- 1:09:36I said you watch, he'll go to the like when they traded.
- 1:09:39For him last year. He'll go to the Islanders and
- 1:09:42he'll be an elite defenseman. You watch.
- 1:09:44Yeah, he was supposed to. He was a really good prospect
- 1:09:46when he was in Minnesota. There's no room for him.
- 1:09:48I'm going to give a lot of credit to Patrick Wah.
- 1:09:50I mean, I did not think this was going to work here.
- 1:09:52And I thought bringing in a new GMA younger GM, that he was
- 1:09:57going to part ways with him. It wasn't his pick.
- 1:09:58It was Lamorello's guy. But they're both French Canadian
- 1:10:01and they have kind of like a good relationship on, on and off
- 1:10:05the ice. He decided to keep Patrick Wah
- 1:10:07and Bob Boy, oh boy, Patrick Wah has been, he's up for coach of
- 1:10:11the year. There's no question that he's
- 1:10:13been one of the better coaches in the NHL this year.
- 1:10:15The development of some of these young players, I mean, they've
- 1:10:18been unbelievable. So I and Matthew Shaffer, it is
- 1:10:23just, I mean, I'll take back. I mean, I didn't think Shaffer
- 1:10:27was going to be bad. I just, I would have went for me
- 1:10:30son. Yeah, it just wasn't.
- 1:10:31You never see a defenseman this good, right?
- 1:10:33Away yeah, they don't that this doesn't happen.
- 1:10:35I mean, the Islanders got lucky and they they struck gold and
- 1:10:38you can see the difference of the way the team is playing
- 1:10:40around him and and the team believing in him.
- 1:10:43So and Patrick walk keeps giving him more and more minutes.
- 1:10:45I mean he's playing 2628 minutes a game.
- 1:10:48I mean, he's a rookie. Rookies don't usually average
- 1:10:511817 minutes a game at a top level.
- 1:10:54It is. It's dude, He's averaging more
- 1:10:56minutes than Sidney Crosby was in his rookie season and he was
- 1:11:00in, he was a center. So it is an amazing story with
- 1:11:04any Islanders. Watch out for them.
