- 1:52Speaker 2: our folks in Jackson County know all about the rain
- 1:55Speaker 2: and storms. Overnight, an area around Ripley got something like
- 1:58Speaker 2: three inches or more of rain in about an hour,
- 2:01Speaker 2: which led to some weather advisories coming down some heavy
- 2:04Speaker 2: rain and moving through Morgantown. Earlier this morning, I was

- 3:18Speaker 2: located in South Charleston Angie Gillan water away today. So
- 3:21Speaker 2: instead we are joined by Elena Allen to the shelter
- 3:24Speaker 2: and she joins us this morning. Good morning, Welcome to
- 3:26Speaker 2: the show.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Lene.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Great to have you here, Yeah, great to be here.
- 3:29Speaker 2: All right. So this week it is a lovely boy
- 3:32Speaker 2: by the name of Jason. And when you see his
- 3:35Speaker 2: picture posted this morning Dave Alan Radio and Facebook and
- 3:38Speaker 2: also the WCCHS network Facebook page and at Dave A
- 3:42Speaker 2: seventy on X, the first thing you're gonna notice, Elena,
- 3:46Speaker 2: is those ears tell us about Jason.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Yeah, so his ears are definitely in what makes him
- 3:54Speaker 5: very distinct. A couple of the things about him. He
- 3:57Speaker 5: is about two months old of today, on vaccines, microchipped,
- 4:01Speaker 5: all the good stuff. He is not fixed yet, but
- 4:04Speaker 5: of course once you adopt, we will get that scheduled
- 4:08Speaker 5: and then some of his attributes we have. He's kid friendly,
- 4:12Speaker 5: he is very playful, he's very social, and if you're
- 4:16Speaker 5: a Harry Potter fan, he is a hustle puff.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know what that means, but you and
- 4:21Speaker 2: Angie sometimes speak a language, and I have no idea
- 4:23Speaker 2: what it means, but maybe some of our listeners do.
- 4:25Speaker 2: What kind of dog is he? Do we have any idea?
- 4:28Speaker 5: We don't know for sure. This is just my guess.
- 4:32Speaker 5: I'd say he probably has some shepherd in him, just
- 4:34Speaker 5: with the way those ears are.
- 4:36Speaker 2: What do we talk? I mean, how big a dog
- 4:40Speaker 2: do you think this will be? I mean you can
- 4:42Speaker 2: just say like medium sized, large size. It's kind of
- 4:44Speaker 2: hard to tell that. Angie does a great job of
- 4:46Speaker 2: the picture, but this one I really only saw. Really
- 4:48Speaker 2: all you saw was the ears and the picture. So
- 4:50Speaker 2: how big a dog is this going to be?
- 4:53Speaker 5: If I had to guess, I'd say he'll probably be
- 4:56Speaker 5: medium sized, maybe forty fifty pounds.
- 4:59Speaker 2: In most Well, he's a beautiful dog and again his
- 5:01Speaker 2: pictures posted on my social media and also the WHS
- 5:05Speaker 2: network Facebook page and at dave a seventy ONX. We'll
- 5:08Speaker 2: get back to Jason a little bit later on. If
- 5:10Speaker 2: you go over to your guys Facebook page, you can
- 5:11Speaker 2: check the schedule for Fixed Charleston, the low cost Spay
- 5:16Speaker 2: and Neuter Wellness Clinic which is just below the Sheilter
- 5:18Speaker 2: and we urge people to check that out, take a
- 5:21Speaker 2: look at that schedule and get them critters taken care of.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, we do have some spots open for August
- 5:29Speaker 5: that definitely give us a call, all right.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And I feel like a broken record every week by
- 5:35Speaker 2: asking about the spacing issues. We're hoping it's getting better,
- 5:38Speaker 2: but it doesn't look like it right away, right, No,
- 5:42Speaker 2: not at the moment. All right, So what are the numbers?
- 5:46Speaker 2: I mean, you don't have to give me the exact number,
- 5:48Speaker 2: but I mean, or how many overcapacity are we other
- 5:50Speaker 2: than just buy a lot?
- 5:53Speaker 5: Well, I can't say for sure, but I do know
- 5:56Speaker 5: that we currently have a lot of mom dogs and puppies.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Well the biggest thing.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and uh, and the cat situation this time of
- 6:07Speaker 2: year is always usually off the charts as well.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely, cat season is rough every summer.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Well, we uh, in the interview that we did our
- 6:15Speaker 2: second with Angie last week at Lana, we we tried
- 6:18Speaker 2: to you know, implore upon people, although they are trying
- 6:22Speaker 2: to do the right thing, uh, that it is not
- 6:26Speaker 2: a good idea to just drop off animals at the
- 6:28Speaker 2: gate of the shelter on weekends or you know, when
- 6:30Speaker 2: you're closed or the overnight hours or whatever. You know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: it's a good idea and theory. But we hope and
- 6:36Speaker 2: Jeff and the news team even did a news story
- 6:37Speaker 2: in that we're hoping that we got the word out
- 6:39Speaker 2: about not doing that.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Yeah, hopefully. The biggest thing is just come talk to us,
- 6:45Speaker 5: you know, and we'll we'll work out what we.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Can because there's always questions that you have. And again,
- 6:50Speaker 2: if you just leave the dog at or the cat
- 6:52Speaker 2: or whatever at the gate of the shelter, you don't
- 6:54Speaker 2: and the dog, you know, they don't say a lot.
- 6:56Speaker 2: So uh uh, you know you can't you can't necessarily
- 6:59Speaker 2: ask them, you know, I mean, how old are you?
- 7:02Speaker 2: Are you vaccinated? You know what? You know? You you
- 7:05Speaker 2: can't they can't answer for themselves, so so try if
- 7:08Speaker 2: you're going to do that, try to do it during
- 7:10Speaker 2: your normal hours. What are you guys most in need of?
- 7:13Speaker 2: What are some of the supplies you need?
- 7:16Speaker 5: I would say the biggest thing right now is just food.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Any Purina product of dry food, and then any wet
- 7:23Speaker 5: food brand is okay.
- 7:24Speaker 2: All right, And of course we always urge people that cash.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You can always donate cash. There's information available on the
- 7:31Speaker 2: website on how to do that. You guys going to
- 7:33Speaker 2: be out and about anywhere this weekend?
- 7:37Speaker 5: Yes, on Saturday, there is an event at the Charleston
- 7:40Speaker 5: branch of the Kennell County Public Library. I believe it
- 7:45Speaker 5: is from eleven to two. I could be a little
- 7:47Speaker 5: bit wrong on that, but it's we're doing a puppy
- 7:51Speaker 5: story time. So if that's something you're interested in, that's
- 7:53Speaker 5: only come on down.
- 7:54Speaker 2: What are okay, you guys have to explain to me
- 7:56Speaker 2: what is a puppy story time?
- 7:59Speaker 5: Essentially, it's typically like the librarians will read a story
- 8:03Speaker 5: to the kids. Sometimes they'll have craft, sometimes they'll have snacks,
- 8:08Speaker 5: and we just bring puppies for everyone to come love one.
- 8:11Speaker 2: That's you can't go wrong with that, you know. Angie
- 8:14Speaker 2: always gets a couple of texts here with questions. So
- 8:16Speaker 2: you get to be in the Angie roll today. Are
- 8:17Speaker 2: you ready?
- 8:18Speaker 6: Yes?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Actually you have three Any updates from Hennessy's family? Are
- 8:23Speaker 2: they moving here?
- 8:23Speaker 5: Now?
- 8:23Speaker 2: This is the story. Hennessy was the dog from out
- 8:26Speaker 2: in the Midwest? Was it was it Iowa? Was that
- 8:29Speaker 2: where they were from? Nebraska? What state was it? Do
- 8:31Speaker 2: you remember?
- 8:33Speaker 5: I believe it was? I believe Iowa?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Okay, all right? And this was the tragic story of
- 8:38Speaker 2: the trucker that was driving on I sixty four and
- 8:41Speaker 2: he was killed in the accident. Some good Samaritans were
- 8:44Speaker 2: able it was Iowa's as a textual appreciate that right
- 8:47Speaker 2: on top of it, uh, and they were able to
- 8:49Speaker 2: get the dog out. They contacted the family, the family
- 8:52Speaker 2: came to West Virginia to pick up Hennessy. Family came
- 8:54Speaker 2: back to West Virginia, brought Hennessey there for a visit, uh,
- 8:58Speaker 2: because they had to take care some affairs of the deceased.
- 9:01Speaker 2: And there was some talk that that the family might
- 9:04Speaker 2: be moving here. And we don't want to get into
- 9:07Speaker 2: their personal business, but can you give us an update
- 9:09Speaker 2: on that story.
- 9:11Speaker 5: I haven't heard anything about them moving here yet, but
- 9:15Speaker 5: I have just we've gotten a lot of good update.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Tennessee is doing well. I mean, just just an incredible
- 9:22Speaker 5: story overall. And we of course would love to say
- 9:25Speaker 5: moved down here, but I'm not entirely sure.
- 9:28Speaker 2: All right, The next question was how are you doing
- 9:30Speaker 2: on kitten and puppy milk replacement formula? And and and
- 9:34Speaker 2: also do you prefer powder or liquid?
- 9:37Speaker 5: We prefer powder, I would say right now. We could
- 9:42Speaker 5: probably use a little bit more. We essentially always could
- 9:46Speaker 5: use more.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yeah, there's always I mean, these things that we talk
- 9:48Speaker 2: about every week are are are evergreen?
- 9:52Speaker 7: Man?
- 9:52Speaker 2: I mean you need these things every week. When we
- 9:54Speaker 2: talk about you know, the down dishwashing detergent, and we
- 9:57Speaker 2: talk about the purina and we talk about the the
- 10:00Speaker 2: kitten and puppy milk formula and anything else. I mean,
- 10:04Speaker 2: you guys will take about anything up there. I do
- 10:07Speaker 2: want to ask you about kegs for canines that's going
- 10:09Speaker 2: to be coming up here, I think on the twenty
- 10:10Speaker 2: ninth over at the Red Carpet Lounge. How's the preparation
- 10:12Speaker 2: for that?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Goe.
- 10:14Speaker 5: It's going good. It's gearing enough to be a pretty
- 10:18Speaker 5: good event this year.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I will say that, all right again, The tails are
- 10:21Speaker 2: available on their social media and also on the website
- 10:25Speaker 2: as well. Kegs for Canines is going to be August
- 10:28Speaker 2: the twenty ninth at the Red Carpet Lounge. Steve Animal
- 10:30Speaker 2: and I from ninety eight to seven, A Mountain Wild,
- 10:32Speaker 2: Wonderful Classic Rock are planning on being there. Hey, Elena,
- 10:35Speaker 2: it's always a pleasure to have you step in when
- 10:38Speaker 2: and she's not available. You're always welcome on the show
- 10:40Speaker 2: any time, Elena Allen, no relation, appreciate you being here.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Thanks a lot, Yeah, thank you.
- 10:45Speaker 2: All right. It is nine eighteen and again the dog
- 10:48Speaker 2: we are trying to get adopted this week. His name
- 10:50Speaker 2: is Jason, four months old, typical puppy, Angie tells me,
- 10:57Speaker 2: seems to be kid friendly and seems to like other
- 11:00Speaker 2: pets as well. And when you go and you look
- 11:02Speaker 2: at the picture of Jason on my Facebook page Dave
- 11:05Speaker 2: Allen Radio, or at Dave A seventy on X or
- 11:07Speaker 2: the WHS Network Facebook page, the first thing you're gonna
- 11:10Speaker 2: notice is those ears. Okay, I mean And when I
- 11:16Speaker 2: first saw the picture, what Age said it to me
- 11:17Speaker 2: last night? I was reminded of the DL Hugley joke
- 11:20Speaker 2: and Kings of comedy and I got to clean it
- 11:23Speaker 2: up a little bit, so don't worry Ryan. But it
- 11:24Speaker 2: was basically that dog couldhere tomorrow. So I mean, that's
- 11:27Speaker 2: how big those ears are. So go get to Jason.
- 11:31Speaker 2: He's a lovely, lovely dog. I know he's been in
- 11:33Speaker 2: all of the talk of the office here today. I
- 11:35Speaker 2: was talking to Lee out front a little bit earlier
- 11:37Speaker 2: about him and Antoine out front as well. I mean,
- 11:40Speaker 2: maybe we need a station dog. I don't know, but
- 11:42Speaker 2: I think the rules kind of found upon that Jason
- 11:44Speaker 2: is her dog. Picture posted Dave Allen Radio on Facebook,
- 11:47Speaker 2: the WHS network Facebook page and at Dave A seventy

- 16:10Speaker 2: Turner is the CEO of Logan Regional and he's teaming
- 16:14Speaker 2: up with Burke to make this thing happen tomorrow and
- 16:17Speaker 2: Justin's with us now on the Guarantee Bank outline. Justin,
- 16:19Speaker 2: good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Hey Dave, good morning.
- 16:22Speaker 2: As long as I have known you, this may be
- 16:26Speaker 2: the first time if if I ever interviewed you before.
- 16:30Speaker 4: No, I don't think so.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I mean I was thinking because first, well, I may
- 16:34Speaker 2: have back of the WVW days when you were coaching tennis,
- 16:38Speaker 2: you know, maybe at you know, at Logan or something
- 16:41Speaker 2: like that. I don't know, maybe you're old radio guy.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Maybe you should just interview me.
- 16:46Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 16:47Speaker 4: I think you did a really good job.
- 16:48Speaker 2: No, I don't really good don't all right, Okay, I
- 16:50Speaker 2: kind of do. All right. You're the current guy in
- 16:52Speaker 2: charge there, and of course at Logan Regional. You are
- 16:55Speaker 2: a Logan County guy. You've been at other hospitals, but
- 16:58Speaker 2: you came back to Logan Regional and you told me
- 17:00Speaker 2: was your dream job. Why is that?
- 17:02Speaker 4: It's home and you know, when you get deep roots
- 17:07Speaker 4: in the community, and that's what my family's always done here,
- 17:12Speaker 4: and all my family are still here, and it just
- 17:16Speaker 4: felt like a natural thing to me to come back
- 17:18Speaker 4: home and serve the people that helped me you know,
- 17:22Speaker 4: from diapers all the way through. You know, they've seen
- 17:26Speaker 4: every part of it. And you know, just going to
- 17:29Speaker 4: school here again, just coming back to serve the people
- 17:33Speaker 4: that serve me as I was growing up. I think
- 17:35Speaker 4: that's really key.
- 17:37Speaker 2: About the history of Logan Regional. I mean, you know,
- 17:40Speaker 2: it's not every day that you have a business that
- 17:42Speaker 2: celebrated one hundred years in business. I don't care what
- 17:45Speaker 2: the business is, let alone a medical facility. But how
- 17:48Speaker 2: much of the history of Logan Regional do you know?
- 17:51Speaker 4: Yeah, so Logan General obviously started in nineteen twenty six.
- 17:55Speaker 4: It was in the parking lot of the current parking lot. Now,
- 17:59Speaker 4: around nineteen six seventy two, they formulated a plan to
- 18:02Speaker 4: build a hospital over the Gayandot River, and so that's
- 18:06Speaker 4: where we are now in the hospital. This hospital opened
- 18:09Speaker 4: one hundred and forty bed facility opened in nineteen seventy five,
- 18:14Speaker 4: and that's when they moved over. But just you know,
- 18:17Speaker 4: I think then coal mining was big. You had actually
- 18:21Speaker 4: three or four hospitals in Logan County at during for
- 18:26Speaker 4: several years.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but I was growing up, I mean I remember
- 18:29Speaker 2: them when I was growing up in the nineteen seventies,
- 18:32Speaker 2: and eighties, you had one in Holden, and you had
- 18:34Speaker 2: what Logan Regional. Of course you had Guyan Valley Hospital.
- 18:36Speaker 2: He had two in the city of Logan and then
- 18:39Speaker 2: also man Apple Acti Regional Hospital too. My grandmother worked there. Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 4: So, and this one has has stood the test of time.
- 18:48Speaker 4: And you know, healthcare is always changing world, but this
- 18:54Speaker 4: place has stood the test of time, so to speak.
- 18:57Speaker 4: And we're here twenty two full time specialist level four
- 19:02Speaker 4: trauma center and our er and here to serve our community.
- 19:07Speaker 2: And for the folks here in the Charleston area. You know,
- 19:09Speaker 2: we're based here in Charleston, the entire Canawa Valley. But
- 19:12Speaker 2: of course, via the magic of the interwebs and apps,
- 19:14Speaker 2: we have listeners all over the place. Why is it worth,
- 19:17Speaker 2: in your opinion, the drive for somebody that may live
- 19:21Speaker 2: an hour or so away to come for the services
- 19:23Speaker 2: of the Logan Regional And what are some of the
- 19:24Speaker 2: services that you have there that people may not be
- 19:27Speaker 2: aware of?
- 19:28Speaker 4: I think the comprehensive care we offer more one on one.
- 19:32Speaker 4: You're not just a number here, you know, it's more
- 19:36Speaker 4: of a family environment. We have about six hundred and
- 19:38Speaker 4: fifty employees and you know, The really one thing that
- 19:43Speaker 4: I wanted to bring back here was, you know, a
- 19:46Speaker 4: shift in the culture to incorporate this is home. We
- 19:50Speaker 4: work here, we serve our families, our friends, and I
- 19:55Speaker 4: think that's what you'll get here. And the vibe you'll
- 19:57Speaker 4: feel as soon as you walk in the door is
- 20:00Speaker 4: a family atmosphere. And again you mentioned the specialties we have.
- 20:05Speaker 4: I mean we have from pulmonology to cardiology, general surgery.
- 20:11Speaker 4: We've partnered up with Marshall Health Network. We have the
- 20:14Speaker 4: nation's first rural general surgery residency program, so we have
- 20:20Speaker 4: general surgery residents that are here from Marshall, and then
- 20:24Speaker 4: two full time surgeons, doctor Cisco's from Ingo County and
- 20:28Speaker 4: doctor Paul who's a West Virginia native from around Fairmont,
- 20:33Speaker 4: and then a plethora of others from orthopedics, pedetry, wound
- 20:36Speaker 4: care again just to list them all would be here. Yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 4: while I got you twenty two full time specialists.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And the reason I wanted to say that is because
- 20:44Speaker 2: you know, you talk about a smaller community like that,
- 20:47Speaker 2: you don't think that a lot of the services are
- 20:49Speaker 2: going to be offered, but you have a big client
- 20:51Speaker 2: base here in the Canal Valley people that drive from
- 20:54Speaker 2: here to there, people from Pike County, Kentucky, and they've
- 20:57Speaker 2: got a you know, a great medical facility there as well.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Will make those that trip there to Logan for the
- 21:02Speaker 2: services that you.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Have, yeah, absolutely, And it's all about convenience too. For
- 21:07Speaker 4: a quality inconvenience, that's what we're shooting for here. And
- 21:11Speaker 4: we recently had some great quality scores from our facility.
- 21:16Speaker 4: You'll see here Elite Frog scores. You can look that
- 21:19Speaker 4: up where Elite Frog a and have been and continue
- 21:24Speaker 4: to be with quality at the top of the list.
- 21:27Speaker 2: And how many people do you employ at the hospital?
- 21:30Speaker 4: Around six hundred and fifty people.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I mean it's one of the largest employers in the county,
- 21:33Speaker 2: right or is it the largest? It's got to be,
- 21:35Speaker 2: all right, right at the top.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Yeah, outside of the school board, we're right behind them, okay.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And I think it's the thing to me that's interesting
- 21:44Speaker 2: about Logan Regional is and we all know you're a
- 21:47Speaker 2: Logan guy. I'm a Logan kay. You know, we know
- 21:50Speaker 2: about the decline and population not only in Logan County,
- 21:53Speaker 2: but I mean pretty much, save for a few areas
- 21:55Speaker 2: around the state, of the entire state, but with that
- 21:58Speaker 2: Logan Regional Medical Center is. I mean, it's a lot
- 22:01Speaker 2: bigger facility than what it was when I was growing
- 22:04Speaker 2: up in the seventies and eighties. I mean it's doubled
- 22:06Speaker 2: or tripled in size since that time, and that's just
- 22:08Speaker 2: almost unheard of.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Absolutely, And it's about bringing quality care close to
- 22:14Speaker 4: home so people don't have to travel and from Logan
- 22:18Speaker 4: to somewhere, or if folks want that personal touch, they
- 22:21Speaker 4: can drive an easy drive down one nineteen from eastern
- 22:24Speaker 4: Kentucky or from Kanall County and come this way.
- 22:28Speaker 2: We got I think we have a big brother, Burke
- 22:30Speaker 2: Allen on the phone right now. Justice, I want you
- 22:32Speaker 2: to hang out with me as well. We're gonna put
- 22:33Speaker 2: you both on here at the same time because you
- 22:34Speaker 2: wanted to give something back to the community. Before we
- 22:37Speaker 2: go to Burke, though, I do want to ask you
- 22:39Speaker 2: justin why was it important for you to have this
- 22:41Speaker 2: big celebration tomorrow.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah. For me, again, it was just giving back, and
- 22:47Speaker 4: you know, I wanted to do something that the whole
- 22:49Speaker 4: community could come to right in the heart of Logan,
- 22:52Speaker 4: and the football field seemed like the place. And we've
- 22:55Speaker 4: been working really well with the Logan County Schools to
- 22:58Speaker 4: make this happen. And instead of having something the ticketed
- 23:03Speaker 4: event or something in Charleston or outside, we want to
- 23:07Speaker 4: do it right here and make it free for everybody
- 23:10Speaker 4: with a big name like Ricky Skaggs.
- 23:12Speaker 2: And this lineup is phenomenal, Yeah it is. And I
- 23:15Speaker 2: want to bring in Burke Allen now alimedia strategies who
- 23:18Speaker 2: you you know, charged to pull off this event as
- 23:21Speaker 2: far as the entertainment goes. Burke, I'm glad you could
- 23:24Speaker 2: fit us into your schedule today.
- 23:26Speaker 7: Well, I'll tell you it is a million little details.
- 23:29Speaker 7: You know, you count port a partties, you try to
- 23:32Speaker 7: figure out exactly, you know, how many dinners you got
- 23:35Speaker 7: to get ready for everybody. But it's so worth it.
- 23:37Speaker 7: And you know, I'm a Logan boy like you guys,
- 23:39Speaker 7: And what an honor to be a part of all this,
- 23:41Speaker 7: and through the hundredth anniversary of the hospital where you
- 23:44Speaker 7: know I was born. I was born at that hospital
- 23:47Speaker 7: back in the days when the dinosaurs are on near
- 23:49Speaker 7: and he's still going, let's do another hundred, right.
- 23:53Speaker 2: And so let's talk about the lineup that you've put
- 23:55Speaker 2: together from an entertainment standpoint, because and it's not just music.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I mean there's food trucks and or stuff for the
- 23:59Speaker 2: kids and fireworks afterwards. We'll get to all that later,
- 24:02Speaker 2: but talk about this musical lineup, and folks, when you
- 24:04Speaker 2: hear this lineup, and you've heard me talk about it
- 24:06Speaker 2: for a couple of weeks, keep in mind this is
- 24:08Speaker 2: absolutely free. I mean there is no charge.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Now.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Obviously, if you're going to get something for the food truck,
- 24:12Speaker 2: you're going to pay, but I mean as far as
- 24:14Speaker 2: the entertainment, it is absolutely one hundred percent free. Give
- 24:18Speaker 2: us the lineup, burk and go.
- 24:21Speaker 7: So we start off with this really cool thing that
- 24:25Speaker 7: has been put together. It's the Logan Regional Medical Center
- 24:29Speaker 7: Alumni Band. So these are all musicians that have down
- 24:31Speaker 7: through the years been affiliated with the hospital one way
- 24:34Speaker 7: or another, and they're going to kick things off just
- 24:37Speaker 7: after the gate's open at three o'clock. We have Ryan Brisher,
- 24:40Speaker 7: who's an up and coming country music artist from Kentucky,
- 24:43Speaker 7: and I will say that all of these artists have
- 24:45Speaker 7: ties to West Virginia and Kentucky. The Mountain Stage Band,
- 24:50Speaker 7: who you know, of course, are known all over the
- 24:53Speaker 7: world from the radio show, on the TV show They're
- 24:55Speaker 7: going to perform along with Corduroy Brown, who's a Huntington guy,
- 25:01Speaker 7: John Ellison, who's known all over the world writing one
- 25:04Speaker 7: of the most recorded songs of all time some kind
- 25:06Speaker 7: of Wonderful. Dell Nora, who is a Princeton native, has
- 25:10Speaker 7: been in Nashville for many years, eight albums in and
- 25:13Speaker 7: currently right now this very day as the number one
- 25:16Speaker 7: song in America on the Country Christian Charts, and she's
- 25:20Speaker 7: also the twenty twenty six I see him a Female
- 25:23Speaker 7: Vocalist of the Year show perform. We have the Davidson
- 25:26Speaker 7: Brothers Band who are coming in. People love those guys
- 25:29Speaker 7: from north central West Virginia. Hometown boy Land. You Jane
- 25:34Speaker 7: Murphy Jr. Your America's Got Talent winner and you may
- 25:37Speaker 7: have heard of this guy. Ricky Skaggs and his Van
- 25:41Speaker 7: Kentucky Thunder are going to perform. And I may be
- 25:43Speaker 7: leaving people off because we had a whole lot of
- 25:45Speaker 7: people to jam into that stage before the fireworks in
- 25:48Speaker 7: And by the way, justin, I've got your tambourine ready
- 25:51Speaker 7: and your kazoo, so we're gonna put you out behind
- 25:53Speaker 7: Ricky Skaggs and the tambourine and Kazoo. So get your
- 25:56Speaker 7: chops ready.
- 25:57Speaker 4: I'm ready on the back of land Motown.
- 26:00Speaker 2: How about Lotech, Yeah, he's a Motown guys. Burke, you
- 26:02Speaker 2: forgot them? Just nope.
- 26:07Speaker 7: I think now one Americ who's got talent. He went
- 26:09Speaker 7: on a Christmas tour and we asked him, what you know,
- 26:12Speaker 7: what's your favorite Christmas song of all time? And it's
- 26:16Speaker 7: Silent Night by the Temptations. And so I tracked down
- 26:19Speaker 7: guys from the Temptations, the Four Tops, the Drifters and more,
- 26:23Speaker 7: and they've become fast friends and they mentored Lando along
- 26:27Speaker 7: the way in his entertainment journey. So when we asked
- 26:30Speaker 7: if they could come back to Landou's hometown and do this,
- 26:32Speaker 7: they're all in. So literally, the lead singer of the
- 26:35Speaker 7: Four Tops tonight is in Indianapolis. He's hopping on a
- 26:38Speaker 7: plane at six here in time. So the lead singers
- 26:42Speaker 7: are the Four Tops, Temptations, the Drifters, and more.
- 26:45Speaker 2: The voices of.
- 26:45Speaker 7: Classic soul are going to be there, So get your
- 26:47Speaker 7: dance and shoes.
- 26:48Speaker 2: On and again this is going to be on the
- 26:50Speaker 2: football stadium. And Brian Hughes told me the weather it
- 26:54Speaker 2: is about fifty to fifty right now. I told you
- 26:56Speaker 2: guys yesterday, I said, I think could be a whole
- 26:58Speaker 2: lot better if we had one hundred percent chance that way,
- 27:00Speaker 2: we would know what to do as far as moving
- 27:02Speaker 2: the thing indoors over to the field house or whatever.
- 27:04Speaker 2: But I guess we're just going to take our chances
- 27:05Speaker 2: out there tomorrow.
- 27:06Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, we'll roll the dice a little bit. We
- 27:09Speaker 7: do have contingency plans, and we're fortunate in that regard
- 27:12Speaker 7: because if you're not familiar with the Logan Area or
- 27:15Speaker 7: LA as we like to call it, the football stadium
- 27:18Speaker 7: is just a parking lot away from Logan Memorial Fieldhouse,
- 27:22Speaker 7: which seats five thousand people and has a big stage.
- 27:25Speaker 7: So you know, should we have issues, we can move
- 27:27Speaker 7: in there. But you know, I'm going to see to
- 27:30Speaker 7: it that that doesn't happen. I've already thrown a flea
- 27:33Speaker 7: to the big man upstairs for good weather tomorrow. And look,
- 27:36Speaker 7: if there's a short shower, that's not an issue.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, lightning is the issue. We can handle the rain
- 27:42Speaker 2: and it's going to be on the football field. Do
- 27:44Speaker 2: people need to bring their chairs?
- 27:47Speaker 7: I think if you can bring a lawn chair of blanket,
- 27:49Speaker 7: you can get up closer if you don't want to
- 27:51Speaker 7: mess with it though. The stage will be set up
- 27:54Speaker 7: to face the bleachers there in the football stadium. And
- 27:57Speaker 7: by the way, the stage is like the size of
- 27:58Speaker 7: the one at the certain we were a god. This
- 28:00Speaker 7: is a big, big production.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Tomorrow and justin I know that this would not be
- 28:04Speaker 2: possible without some folks that helped you from a financial standpoint,
- 28:08Speaker 2: business folks in the community, anybody that you want to
- 28:11Speaker 2: mention in particularly.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, Martial Health Network came through Forest on the
- 28:16Speaker 4: fireworks show that's sponsored by them. Approximately a little after
- 28:20Speaker 4: ten o'clock we should be shooting some fireworks off, So
- 28:23Speaker 4: thanks to Marshall Health Network. Also, the stage was sponsored
- 28:26Speaker 4: by Thornhill Auto Group, Wiley and Sydney in the gang
- 28:29Speaker 4: there at Thornhill always big supporters in our community events
- 28:34Speaker 4: that we have Half Humbilquoid Convention and Visitors Bureau, Appalachian Power,
- 28:39Speaker 4: Coalfield Health and the CCHCH Federal Credit Union. So all
- 28:44Speaker 4: of those teamed up to make this happen.
- 28:47Speaker 2: And again things are going to open up about three
- 28:48Speaker 2: o'clock tomorrow. There's going to be food trucks there and
- 28:52Speaker 2: fireworks afterwards. Thanks for the kid. This is a family environment,
- 28:56Speaker 2: so you can bring the entire family out for this thing.
- 28:58Speaker 2: No worries there. The cliche is always there's something for everybody.
- 29:03Speaker 2: But with the music, I mean again Ricky Skaggs and
- 29:05Speaker 2: Kentucky Thunder, you got the voices of classic soul with
- 29:08Speaker 2: featuring all those great groups and some of the singers
- 29:11Speaker 2: from those groups over the years. You got the Davison
- 29:13Speaker 2: Brothers Band, You've got land All, you g Murphy Jr.
- 29:16Speaker 2: You've got Dell Nora, You've got the great John Ellison,
- 29:18Speaker 2: who of course wrote some kind of wonderful and still
- 29:21Speaker 2: is going strong well into his eighties. West Virginia native,
- 29:23Speaker 2: and as you said, Burke, every one of these performers
- 29:26Speaker 2: has ties to either West Virginia, Kentucky or both, and
- 29:29Speaker 2: I think that's a that's a very very big part
- 29:31Speaker 2: of it. I'm going to be down there tomorrow, so
- 29:33Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to hanging out with you guys. Haven't
- 29:36Speaker 2: been to LA in a few months, so I'll be
- 29:38Speaker 2: down there tomorrow helping out on the stage. I appreciate
- 29:40Speaker 2: you guys taking time out of your schedule justin I'm
- 29:43Speaker 2: gonna leave it with you to just say anything. You
- 29:46Speaker 2: want to close this out here, buddy, to try to
- 29:47Speaker 2: get people down there tomorrow.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, we hope we have a big crowd.
- 29:50Speaker 4: We've got plenty of space indoor or outdoor. Just pray
- 29:54Speaker 4: for no rain. We'll keep up with Brian Hughes there,
- 29:56Speaker 4: make sure that we know what the forecast just supposed
- 30:00Speaker 4: to be. But Todave, I have a hot dog waiting
- 30:02Speaker 4: for you.
- 30:03Speaker 2: A hot dog, A hot dog three or four? Yeah, yeah,
- 30:10Speaker 2: exactly right. Justin Turner, CEO Logan Regional Medical Center, brock
- 30:14Speaker 2: Allen Allen Media Strategies, big brother. I'll see you and
- 30:17Speaker 2: Justin in the entire game tomorrow in LA. Looking forward
- 30:19Speaker 2: to it.
- 30:20Speaker 7: Thanks a lot, Thanks man, thanks for having us duve.
- 30:22Speaker 2: And there's information available on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook
- 30:25Speaker 2: if you'd like to see the entire lineup, or you
- 30:27Speaker 2: can go to the Logan Regional Facebook page as well.
- 30:29Speaker 2: It's going to be a great time, folks. And again,
- 30:32Speaker 2: you know, here in the Charleston area, I've learned over
- 30:34Speaker 2: the years that people think, gosh, I don't want to
- 30:36Speaker 2: drive to Logan. It's basically an hour, you know, And
- 30:40Speaker 2: it's as my family would say, it's all on the
- 30:42Speaker 2: New doug Road. It's all on four lane highway all
- 30:45Speaker 2: the way down there till just before you get off
- 30:47Speaker 2: to go into town. There it's a Logan football stadium.
- 30:50Speaker 2: To markets are going to open up at three o'clock.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Ricky Skaggs voices of classic Soul del Nora Landau Only.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I'm leaving somebody off for Davis and Brothers if I
- 31:02Speaker 2: didn't already mention them Mountain Stage Band and it's all
- 31:06Speaker 2: one hundred percent free. Bring your shares if you want to.
- 31:10Speaker 2: There's plenty of there'll be plenty of seats. Plus they're
- 31:12Speaker 2: gonna we're gonna take over Coach Booth's football stadium there
- 31:14Speaker 2: as well, so cheg it out. We'll see you there
- 31:17Speaker 2: tomorrow at eight Island Show and five eighty Line is
- 31:18Speaker 2: brought to you in part by Morgan and Morgan, America's
- 31:20Speaker 2: largest injury law firm. We're going to take a break,
- 31:23Speaker 2: come back after this on the Voice of Charleston WCCHS.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Brought to you by the Eric Jtar Family Businesses. Eric

- 33:52Speaker 2: powered by the Selango Law. Now on this show Monday,
- 33:55Speaker 2: Danny Jones will be here and there's a new movie
- 33:59Speaker 2: being filmed. You're in the Canal Valley? Where are going
- 34:01Speaker 2: to tell you all about that? Coming up on Monday's
- 34:04Speaker 2: show In the folk from Lea's Legacy are going to
- 34:06Speaker 2: stop by as well. There is a really really cool
- 34:09Speaker 2: thing it's going to be going on is a free
- 34:11Speaker 2: two day interactive workshop West Virginia State University of the
- 34:15Speaker 2: Economic Development Center. And I've been joking saying, you too
- 34:19Speaker 2: could be the next Jim Strawn. Here's your opportunity to
- 34:22Speaker 2: be the next Jim strawng I don't know if that's
- 34:23Speaker 2: kind of a kind of a stretcher. Chante Ellis is
- 34:27Speaker 2: here with it's talking about how do you do with
- 34:28Speaker 2: chantey good?
- 34:29Speaker 8: How are you?
- 34:30Speaker 2: You don't really need to wear the headphones if you
- 34:31Speaker 2: don't want to. I don't want to mess up your
- 34:33Speaker 2: pretty hair, thank you.
- 34:33Speaker 7: I don't.
- 34:35Speaker 2: That's what I see. My hair doesn't move. It's the
- 34:37Speaker 2: hair of jail. It doesn't move, I don't have to
- 34:38Speaker 2: worry about it. Tell us about this. Tell us just
- 34:40Speaker 2: from a general perspective about this seminar. It's a two
- 34:44Speaker 2: day event. Talk about it well.
- 34:45Speaker 13: The today event is a professional presence, media and public
- 34:51Speaker 13: etiquette workshop. It's presented by Jim Strong and Company, and
- 34:56Speaker 13: he has partnered with the Economic Development Center West Virginia
- 34:59Speaker 13: State University Economic Development Center to offer this to the
- 35:04Speaker 13: community for free. And it's a two day interactive workshop.
- 35:09Speaker 13: If you are a student, want to be a journalist,
- 35:14Speaker 13: if you wanted to practice your skills on interviewing, if
- 35:17Speaker 13: you are a professional, small business or a forward facing
- 35:22Speaker 13: type of person and want to better your skills in
- 35:27Speaker 13: public etiquette or public speaking, this is for you. We
- 35:33Speaker 13: are providing lunch for both days, and then we're also
- 35:38Speaker 13: providing a certificate of completion, which I always think is
- 35:41Speaker 13: important when you're doing professional development, so you can have
- 35:45Speaker 13: something to take with you when you're done, to say
- 35:48Speaker 13: to someone, here's how I've been working on myself, and
- 35:52Speaker 13: then this is what I have to.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Present to a future employer included on the resume or
- 35:57Speaker 2: something can't hurt It's another thing. You think this stuff
- 36:00Speaker 2: is so important.
- 36:02Speaker 13: Well, it's important. I'm a living example. I mean, this
- 36:06Speaker 13: is radio show is equally as important as being on
- 36:10Speaker 13: the news and being able to public speak. I'm even
- 36:15Speaker 13: thinking of the you know, the student athlete portion of it,
- 36:19Speaker 13: where after a big game win or lose, right, they
- 36:23Speaker 13: have to be interviewed and keep.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Their composure, especially after they lose.
- 36:30Speaker 7: Yeah, and that's not easy.
- 36:31Speaker 13: That's not easy to do. I mean even I speaking
- 36:34Speaker 13: on the radio or speaking in the public, that's not
- 36:36Speaker 13: easy to do either. It takes practice, and so Jim
- 36:40Speaker 13: is going to offer some skills and tips and tricks
- 36:43Speaker 13: on how to do that. The DC is contributing in
- 36:46Speaker 13: a way where we are going to have the interactive portion.
- 36:51Speaker 13: They're going to have opportunities to do a podcast, it's
- 36:54Speaker 13: a live podcast. They're going to have opportunities to do
- 36:59Speaker 13: a headshot and pictures and then even interview with a
- 37:04Speaker 13: radio news personality. And so there are going to be
- 37:08Speaker 13: several opportunities to be able to practice these skills before
- 37:14Speaker 13: the end of the two day workshop.
- 37:17Speaker 2: And that's very important. Again, Chante Ellis is here and
- 37:19Speaker 2: you know, now the Internet, social media has totally changed
- 37:23Speaker 2: everything now and it's changed it for good and it's
- 37:26Speaker 2: changed it for bad in a lot of ways. In
- 37:28Speaker 2: some ways maybe a little bit of both. Yes, And
- 37:30Speaker 2: what happens is is now I think a lot of people.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Everybody thinks that they are the master communicators, but everybody
- 37:37Speaker 2: needs a little help along the way. You and I've
- 37:39Speaker 2: said this before, you may know your stuff, no matter
- 37:41Speaker 2: what it is. Yes, you may be the best contractor
- 37:44Speaker 2: in the world, you may be the best athlete or whatever,
- 37:47Speaker 2: but you've got to know how to sell yourself and
- 37:49Speaker 2: how to present yourself. And that's what this two day
- 37:52Speaker 2: seminar is going to be able to do.
- 37:53Speaker 13: Yes, absolutely, and we're excited to be able to offer it.
- 37:57Speaker 13: I mean, I've gotten a huge response. We only have
- 38:00Speaker 13: limited slots, so we do only have twenty four slots,
- 38:03Speaker 13: and so we are looking to fill this very quickly
- 38:06Speaker 13: and we're almost halfway there. And so if this is
- 38:10Speaker 13: something you are interested in, I highly suggest that you
- 38:14Speaker 13: give us a call, because we are only taking phone
- 38:16Speaker 13: calls just so that we can have a running wait
- 38:20Speaker 13: list and then be fair, we don't want one organization
- 38:26Speaker 13: to give us a call and fill up all the.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Slots, right.
- 38:28Speaker 13: You don't want exactly well, you want Yeah, we want
- 38:31Speaker 13: to spread the love a little bit, and so we're
- 38:33Speaker 13: having people call and if you're interested, please give us
- 38:36Speaker 13: a call. The number is three zero four seven to
- 38:40Speaker 13: zero one four zero.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Seven, and then you can talk to Chante and talk
- 38:46Speaker 2: to her staff and find out about this whole thing
- 38:49Speaker 2: because space is limited and it's actually there at.
- 38:52Speaker 13: Yes, No, it's at the Economic Development Center and that
- 38:56Speaker 13: is on the west side.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I'm clarify that, yes, give us address.
- 39:00Speaker 13: The address to that is one five zero six Cana Boulevard.
- 39:06Speaker 2: West Ale West. Make sure you get that in Charleston,
- 39:08Speaker 2: you have to get that east and west right. You know,
- 39:10Speaker 2: you end up on Definitely, I've been there at the
- 39:13Speaker 2: time on Virginia Street, mccorkyll Avenue. It happens all the time.
- 39:16Speaker 2: I completely understand it.
- 39:17Speaker 4: You know.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It's interesting because in the last segment I was talking
- 39:20Speaker 2: to Burke Allen, who's Landau's manager, and he's we had
- 39:24Speaker 2: a big event we're doing in Logan tomorrow. And one
- 39:26Speaker 2: of the things that Burke does he works with a
- 39:28Speaker 2: variety of different quote unquote celebrities. He does singers, he's
- 39:33Speaker 2: got authors, Homer Hickham, rocket Boy, it's one of theo
- 39:36Speaker 2: folks he manages. And one of the things he does
- 39:38Speaker 2: before he takes on a client is he sets them
- 39:41Speaker 2: down and says we are going to undergo some training,
- 39:44Speaker 2: and he usually sends them somewhere or he does something
- 39:48Speaker 2: like like a virtual thing. So what what Burke is
- 39:52Speaker 2: sending people to? You guys are offering here in Charleston
- 39:55Speaker 2: for free.
- 39:55Speaker 13: Yes, exactly. Yeah, And so if Burke is interested, he
- 40:01Speaker 13: might want to send a few of his people over
- 40:03Speaker 13: and get that training done that he suggests that they
- 40:07Speaker 13: have do.
- 40:09Speaker 2: I think it's going to be really, really interesting. I
- 40:10Speaker 2: think it's something that's really needed right now. And you know,
- 40:13Speaker 2: like representing yourself authentically and professionally on social media. Social media,
- 40:19Speaker 2: as I said earlier, Chante has changed everything. And you
- 40:23Speaker 2: would be surprised at the number of people and you know,
- 40:27Speaker 2: the old saying is you don't know what you don't know,
- 40:29Speaker 2: but the number of people that don't realize how important
- 40:33Speaker 2: social media is. Whether you love it, whether you hate it,
- 40:35Speaker 2: you cannot operate a business successfully without social media. Everybody,
- 40:40Speaker 2: if you're an influencer, if you're an athlete, if you're
- 40:43Speaker 2: a church, whatever, you have to have a presence somehow
- 40:46Speaker 2: on social media.
- 40:47Speaker 13: Absolutely, and you have to put your representation out there
- 40:51Speaker 13: in a way that you see best, because once it's out.
- 40:56Speaker 2: There, you can't take it back.
- 40:58Speaker 13: You can't take it back, and it's out there, and
- 41:00Speaker 13: so social media will definitely be a part of this conversation.
- 41:05Speaker 13: So whether your social media, where your news, whether you're radio,
- 41:10Speaker 13: this is for you, and this is for students. It's
- 41:14Speaker 13: for student athletes, aspiring entrepreneurs, small businesses across industries. I
- 41:22Speaker 13: feel like this could be a tool that any one
- 41:25Speaker 13: of us could use.
- 41:26Speaker 2: All right, give us all the details again, and the
- 41:28Speaker 2: gets the phone number because you have to call to register.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Segut the phone number again, So you.
- 41:32Speaker 13: Have to call the register if you are interested, please
- 41:35Speaker 13: give us a call as soon as you can. And
- 41:38Speaker 13: that number is three zero four seven to zero one
- 41:42Speaker 13: four zero seven.
- 41:45Speaker 2: And the dates and the location again, Yes.
- 41:47Speaker 13: The dates are August twelfth and thirteenth. They're both full days.
- 41:53Speaker 13: Registration and us getting settled is between eight thirty and
- 41:58Speaker 13: nine and we start writing exactly at nine, so nine
- 42:02Speaker 13: to four, so both are full days because we're going
- 42:05Speaker 13: to need the entire time to be able to get
- 42:07Speaker 13: this done.
- 42:08Speaker 2: And you know, I'm thinking about for business owners, maybe
- 42:10Speaker 2: you want to send some of your staff over there. Absolutely, absolutely,
- 42:13Speaker 2: so you're going to have people from big industries, but
- 42:15Speaker 2: you're also going to have some individuals, some students, and
- 42:18Speaker 2: it's gonna be a great mix of people you'd like
- 42:20Speaker 2: to have. You back on afterwards, let us know how
- 42:21Speaker 2: it goes. Absolutely, because I have a feeling this is
- 42:24Speaker 2: going to be such a hit. You're going to be
- 42:25Speaker 2: doing this several times.
- 42:26Speaker 13: Yeah, I definitely foresee having this again, and I'm hoping
- 42:29Speaker 13: we do.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Chanteyl, It's always pleasure to have you in the show.

- 46:38Speaker 2: goes from Putnam County to Frederick County, Maryland, but there
- 46:41Speaker 2: is no set route as of yet. Alex Weld is
- 46:45Speaker 2: the spokesperson, and she said last night that in early

- 47:00Speaker 2: say in the other states that are included Virginia and Maryland. Now,
- 47:07Speaker 2: there were speakers and I did not attend last night,
- 47:09Speaker 2: but there were there were speakers last night at the
- 47:11Speaker 2: meeting before the commission Commissioner Natalie Tennant says she has
- 47:16Speaker 2: also questions and I think, look, I think it's a
- 47:17Speaker 2: fair point. I think when you talk about these kind
- 47:20Speaker 2: of transmission lines or whether it's a Google data center
- 47:23Speaker 2: or whatever, you know, I think people people have questions.
- 47:26Speaker 2: And that's even following some when the meetings were held
- 47:28Speaker 2: last week in Kanawha and Putnam County as well as
- 47:32Speaker 2: Jackson and Ron Counties. Jack Carlson has got a great

- 49:42Speaker 2: I'm going to break a cardinal rule of radio. I mean,
- 49:48Speaker 2: I frequently can break the rules around here. Relaxed, Brian,
- 49:50Speaker 2: It's okay, his finger on the dump button. No, we're
- 49:53Speaker 2: all good. There is an unwritten rule that you aren't
- 49:58Speaker 2: supposed to talk about your petitors in your market, but
- 50:03Speaker 2: I am going to do that to a certain extent,
- 50:05Speaker 2: and I mean in a good way. I'm going to
- 50:08Speaker 2: mention a person at one of our competitors. I mentioned
- 50:10Speaker 2: him rather than the exact station. His name is Kid Conley,
- 50:14Speaker 2: and he actually worked here at ninety six one at
- 50:17Speaker 2: one point downstairs from us, but he's with some of
- 50:22Speaker 2: the other guys right now. And I'm going to just
- 50:23Speaker 2: tell you quickly about Kid, or Larry as I know him.
- 50:28Speaker 2: He and I were born on the same day in
- 50:31Speaker 2: the same year, just a few hours apart, September twenty third,
- 50:34Speaker 2: nineteen seventy cheap plug next month birthday month. We're both
- 50:38Speaker 2: from Logan, and we started in the business at the
- 50:41Speaker 2: same time in nineteen eighty eight at the long since
- 50:46Speaker 2: deceased and dearly departed wlog in Logan, and our paths
- 50:51Speaker 2: took us different directions, although you know, we did work
- 50:56Speaker 2: together a few years in Logan twenty ten eleven or so,
- 51:01Speaker 2: and worked there until I left there in twenty fourteen.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Kid or Larry as I know him, announced yesterday via
- 51:08Speaker 2: social media that he's leaving his station over there and
- 51:11Speaker 2: actually hanging up the headphones for good. And that's why
- 51:14Speaker 2: I'm bringing this up is he's effectively announced his retirement
- 51:20Speaker 2: from the business. And he has two passions in life.
- 51:25Speaker 2: One is a tattoo artist that's a new thing of
- 51:27Speaker 2: his and taking care of his mama, which is a
- 51:31Speaker 2: very admirable trait. And his mother, Terry, is a beautiful,
- 51:35Speaker 2: beautiful lady, and she's had all kinds of health issues
- 51:37Speaker 2: as late. And I just wanted to bring that up again.
- 51:40Speaker 2: You know, I was supposed to talk about the other guys.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I didn't mention the station. I just said I'm talking
- 51:44Speaker 2: about him, the guy. He and I started in this
- 51:48Speaker 2: business together in March of nineteen eighty eight, actually starting
- 51:51Speaker 2: before that at our high school radio station. And man,
- 51:55Speaker 2: do we ever have stories? The stories most of them
- 51:59Speaker 2: will come out afterward. Okay, I'm going to tell you
- 52:01Speaker 2: that maybe it'll be a book or so. I'd like
- 52:02Speaker 2: to have Matthew McConaughey play me by the way. We
- 52:04Speaker 2: can make that happen. So de Larry Kid kindly, buddy,
