Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, March 17th.
- 0:12Wisdom versus impulse. There's a big difference between
- 0:15confidence and wisdom. Confidence says I have got this.
- 0:19Wisdom says, Lord guide me. Confidence can move fast, speak
- 0:23fast, and decide fast. Wisdom knows when to pause,
- 0:27listen, and receive counsel. And in a world that celebrates
- 0:31instant reactions and quick opinions, learning to slow down
- 0:35and seek God is one of the strongest things you can do.
- 0:39Proverbs chapter 12 verse 15 says the way of a fool is right
- 0:43in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
- 0:47That verse is simple, but it goes straight to the heart.
- 0:50One of the easiest traps to fall into is assuming that because
- 0:53something feels right to us, it must be right.
- 0:56But feelings can be loud without being true.
- 0:59Impulse can feel strong without being wise.
- 1:03Then Psalm chapter 33 verse 6 says by the word of the Lord,
- 1:07the heavens were made. The God who spoke the universe
- 1:10into existence is not lacking wisdom for your situation.
- 1:14He is not guessing about your future And Job.
- 1:17Chapters 36 to 37 remind us that God is mighty in strength and
- 1:21wisdom. His power is seen in creation,
- 1:24in storms, in the sky, in things far bigger than us.
- 1:29He understands what we cannot. That should humble us, but it
- 1:32should also comfort us. You do not have to figure
- 1:35everything out alone. You do not have to trust every
- 1:38first reaction or every strong emotion.
- 1:41When you pause to pray, seek wise counsel, and listen before
- 1:45acting, you are not being weak. You are making room for God's
- 1:49wisdom to shape your choices. Maybe there is an area of your
- 1:52life where you have been reacting instead of reflecting.
- 1:55A friendship, a decision, a relationship, a habit, a
- 2:00frustration. God is able to guide you there.
- 2:04He often leads through His Word, through peace that grows in
- 2:06prayer, and through wise voices He has placed around you.
- 2:10Wisdom is not flashy, but it is steady.
- 2:13It protects you from regret and leads you toward life.
- 2:16Let today be a reminder that listening is not losing control.
- 2:20It is choosing a better guide. Let's pray.
- 2:23Heavenly Father, thank You for being full of wisdom and power.
- 2:27Forgive me for the times I rely only on myself and rush ahead
- 2:30without seeking You. Help me to pause, listen, and
- 2:34receive wise counsel. Lead my decisions, guard me from
- 2:38impulse, and teach me to trust Your voice above my own
- 2:40understanding. In Jesus name, Amen.
- 2:45What if the most important question in your life deserves
- 2:47more than a shallow answer? Does God Exist is a powerful,
- 2:51thought provoking series that explores reality, meaning, and
- 2:54truth through reason, evidence, human experience, and scripture
- 2:59without preaching pressure or assumptions.
- 3:02Book 1, Something from Nothing, confronts the mystery of
- 3:05existence itself and asks why anything exists at all.
- 3:08Book 2, The Cause behind the Cosmos, examines the origin of
- 3:12the universe and whether it points beyond itself.
- 3:15Book 3, Design or Accident, wrestles with order and
- 3:18complexity. Are they products of chance or
- 3:20intelligence? Book 4, The Moral Signature,
- 3:23explores why objective right and wrong may require a source
- 3:27beyond human opinion. Book 5, The God We Cannot
- 3:30Escape, considers conscience, longing, and humanity's
- 3:33persistent awareness of God. Book 6, From Reason to
- 3:36Revelation, asks whether the God who exists would also speak.
- 3:40And Book 7, Denying God, examines the internal tensions
- 3:44of unbelief and the deeper implications of rejecting the
- 3:46divine. Written in clear, accessible
- 3:49language for seekers, skeptics, students, and curious minds,
- 3:53this series invites honest reflection and careful thinking.

- 4:10Proverbs Chapter 12 Verse 15 World English Bible The way of a
- 4:15fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to
- 4:18counsel. Psalm Chapter 33 World English
- 4:22Bible Rejoice in Yahweh you righteous praise is fitting for
- 4:25the upright. Give thanks to Yahweh with a
- 4:28liar. Sing praises to him with the
- 4:30harp of 10 strings. Sing to him a new song.
- 4:33Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
- 4:35For Yahweh's word is right. All His work is done in
- 4:38faithfulness. He loves righteousness and
- 4:40justice. The earth is full of the loving
- 4:43kindness of Yahweh. By Yahweh's Word the heavens
- 4:46were made all their army by the breath of His mouth.
- 4:49He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap.
- 4:52He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
- 4:55Let all the earth fear Yahweh. Let all the inhabitants of the
- 4:58world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke and it was done.
- 5:02He commanded and it stood firm. Yahweh brings the counsel of the
- 5:05nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the
- 5:08peoples to be of no effect. The council of Yahweh stands
- 5:11fast forever the thoughts of His heart to all generations.
- 5:15Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom He
- 5:18has chosen for His own inheritance.
- 5:20Yahweh looks from heaven. He sees all the sons of men from
- 5:24the place of His habitation. He looks out on all the
- 5:27inhabitants of the earth, He who fashions all of their hearts,
- 5:31and He considers all of their works.
- 5:33There is no king saved by the multitude of an army.
- 5:36A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
- 5:39A horse is a vain thing for safety, neither does He deliver
- 5:42any by His great power. Behold, Yahweh's eye is on those
- 5:46who fear Him, on those who hope in His loving kindness to
- 5:50deliver their soul from death to keep them alive in famine.
- 5:53Our soul has waited for Yahweh. He is our help and our shield,
- 5:57for our heart rejoices in Him because we have trusted in His
- 6:00holy name. Let your loving kindness be on
- 6:03us Yahweh, since we have hoped in You.
- 6:05Job chapters 36 to 37 World English Bible.
- 6:09Elihu also continued and said, Bear with me a little and I will
- 6:13show you, for I still have something to say on God's
- 6:16behalf. I will get my knowledge from
- 6:18afar and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker, for
- 6:21truly my words are not false. One who is perfect in knowledge
- 6:25is with you. Behold, God is mighty and
- 6:27doesn't despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of
- 6:30understanding. He doesn't preserve the life of
- 6:33the wicked, but gives justice to the afflicted.
- 6:36He doesn't withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with
- 6:38kings on the throne He sets them forever and they are exalted.
- 6:42If they are bound in fetters and are taken in the cords of
- 6:45afflictions. Then He shows them their work
- 6:48and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves
- 6:51proudly. He also opens their ears to
- 6:53instruction and commands that they return from iniquity.
- 6:57If they listen and serve Him, they will spend their days in
- 7:00prosperity and their years in pleasures.
- 7:03But if they don't listen, they will perish by the sword.
- 7:06They will die without knowledge. But those who are godless in
- 7:09heart lay up anger. They don't cry for help When He
- 7:11binds them, they die in youth. Their life perishes among the
- 7:15unclean. He delivers the afflicted by
- 7:17their affliction and opens their ear in oppression.
- 7:21Yes, He would have allured you out of distress into a wide
- 7:24place where there is no restriction.
- 7:26That which is set on your table would be full of fatness, but
- 7:29you are full of the judgment of the wicked.
- 7:32Judgment and justice take hold of you.
- 7:34Don't let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great
- 7:37size of a bribe turn you aside. Would your wealth sustain you in
- 7:41distress, or all the might of your strength?
- 7:43Don't desire the night when people are cut off in their
- 7:45place. Take heed.
- 7:47Don't regard iniquity, for you have chosen this rather than
- 7:50affliction. Behold, God is exalted in His
- 7:53power, who is a teacher like Him, who has prescribed His way
- 7:56for Him, or who can say you have committed unrighteousness?
- 8:00Remember that you magnify His work, about which men have sung.
- 8:04All men have looked on it. Man sees it afar off.
- 8:07Behold, God is great, and we don't know Him.
- 8:10The number of His years is unsearchable, for He draws up
- 8:13the drops of water which distill in rain from his vapor, which
- 8:17the skies pour down, and which drop on man abundantly.
- 8:20Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds and
- 8:23the thunderings of His pavilion? Behold, he spreads his light
- 8:26around him. He covers the bottom of the sea,
- 8:29for by these he judges the people.
- 8:31He gives food in abundance. He covers his hands with the
- 8:34lightning and commands it to strike the mark.
- 8:37It's noise tells about him and the livestock.
- 8:39Also concerning the storm that comes up.
- 8:42Yes. At this my heart trembles and is
- 8:44moved out of its place. Hear, O hear the noise of his
- 8:48voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
- 8:50He sends it out under the whole sky, and His lightning to the
- 8:53ends of the earth after it a voice roars.
- 8:56He thunders with the voice of His Majesty.
- 8:59He doesn't hold back anything when His voice is heard.
- 9:01God thunders marvelously with His voice.
- 9:04He does great things which we can't comprehend.
- 9:07For He says to the snow fall on the earth, likewise to the
- 9:10shower of rain, and to the showers of His mighty rain.
- 9:13He seals up the hand of every man, that all men who He has
- 9:16made may know it. Then the animals take cover and
- 9:20remain in their dens. Out of its room comes the storm
- 9:23and cold out of the north. By the breath of God, ice is
- 9:26given, and the width of the waters is frozen.
- 9:29Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture.
- 9:32He spreads abroad the cloud of His lightning.
- 9:34It is turned around by His guidance that they may do
- 9:37whatever He commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
- 9:40whether it is for correction, or for His land, or for loving
- 9:43kindness that He causes it to come.
- 9:45Listen to this Job, stand still and consider the wondrous works
- 9:49of God. Do you know how God controls
- 9:52them and causes the lightning of His cloud to shine?
- 9:55Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of
- 9:58Him who is perfect in knowledge? You whose clothing is warm when
- 10:01the earth is still by reason of the South wind, Can you with Him
- 10:05spread out the sky which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
- 10:09Teach us what we will tell Him, for we can't make our case by
- 10:12reason of darkness. Will it be told him that I would
- 10:14speak? Or should a man wish that he
- 10:16were swallowed up? Now men don't see the light
- 10:19which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes and clears
- 10:22them. Out of the north comes golden
- 10:24splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
- 10:27We can't reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power,
- 10:30injustice, and great righteousness.
- 10:32He will not oppress. Therefore men Revere Him.
- 10:35He doesn't regard any who are wise of heart.
