- 0:09Speaker 1: Patriots training Camp, this is Patriots Unfiltered. Welcome everybody to
- 0:16Speaker 1: Gillette Stadium for a special edition of Patriots Unfiltered. We
- 0:20Speaker 1: are live from training camp behind Gillette Stadium, high above
- 0:24Speaker 1: the practice fields, and we're brought to you by optim
- 0:27Speaker 1: and we will be here until the duration, until the
- 0:31Speaker 1: end of practice. Today. It's Fred Kersh, Paul Perillo, Alex
- 0:34Speaker 1: Francisco and Mike do So at the far end, and
- 0:39Speaker 1: we're talking everything you need to know about what's going
- 0:42Speaker 1: on today with practice and what has gone on so far.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We're on day four of practice and everybody, you know,
- 0:49Speaker 1: three in the bank run day four. What do you
- 0:52Speaker 1: think so far? Coming fast and furious now, you know,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I thought the offense kind of carried a little bit
- 0:57Speaker 1: the first day, maybe the defense a little bit the
- 0:59Speaker 1: second two days, but I think overall, just the headlines competition.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You know, you saw that at the end of practice
- 1:03Speaker 1: yesterday with a little punt catch challenge from coach Bill Belichick.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Look like Cole Strange sealed it for the offense. Just
- 1:10Speaker 1: bragging rights. But I think you're going to see the
- 1:12Speaker 1: competition continue to ramp up today building up to Monday
- 1:15Speaker 1: when they get into pads. Yeah, pads on Monday. Yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's when we can start to
- 1:19Speaker 1: see some of these things. You know, we're starting to
- 1:21Speaker 1: take little things that we notice here and there. You know,
- 1:25Speaker 1: individual players, guys like Josh Bledsoe. You know, we talked
- 1:28Speaker 1: a little bit about Sean Wade yesterday. You know, some
- 1:31Speaker 1: of the guys that have been around a little bit,
- 1:33Speaker 1: you know, John who Smith. You want to see when
- 1:35Speaker 1: they get the pads on next week, if they can
- 1:37Speaker 1: start to stack the days together. Mike keeps making a
- 1:40Speaker 1: point about Tae Kwon Thornton. You know, it's just important
- 1:42Speaker 1: for him to be out here every day and getting better.
- 1:45Speaker 1: So I think once you start seeing that, you know,
- 1:48Speaker 1: with a more of a physical setting, and that's when
- 1:51Speaker 1: you can start to draw some of those conclusions. Yeah,
- 1:53Speaker 1: in terms of the injury situation, or at least pup situation,
- 1:57Speaker 1: who's on it's who's come back since been on it? Well,
- 2:01Speaker 1: we yesterday we got David Andrews and Jake Bailey back.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Jake Bailey on the of course proverbial non football illness.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So he's okay, Now that's good news. David Andrews back yesterday.
- 2:10Speaker 1: He didn't really do much, but it seems like they're
- 2:12Speaker 1: easing him back in. But you know, it's kind of
- 2:14Speaker 1: the guys on defense right now that you're waiting for
- 2:16Speaker 1: Jabrill Peppers, Jonathan Jones, Miles Bryant, James White. Those are
- 2:20Speaker 1: the some of the guys that are off now, as
- 2:22Speaker 1: well as the two rookie offensive lineman Chason Hines and
- 2:25Speaker 1: Andrews Stuber. Both those guys on NFI as well. So
- 2:28Speaker 1: a small group, I mean, not not a lot of
- 2:30Speaker 1: big impact, but I think on the defensive side, especially
- 2:32Speaker 1: at the slot corner position with Bryant and Jay Jones.
- 2:35Speaker 1: That's why you've been seeing Sean Wade and even Marcus
- 2:37Speaker 1: Jones getting some opportunities to play there in the slot.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Speaking of defense, I know, it's there's no pads and
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's not competitive in the respect that you know, people
- 2:47Speaker 1: aren't jamming at the line or you know, making contact
- 2:50Speaker 1: for the most part. But so far it seems like
- 2:53Speaker 1: the defense has the edge. Yeah, a little bit, I mean,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and they've been a lot in the red zone too,
- 2:57Speaker 1: So I mean I think that that helps them a
- 2:59Speaker 1: little bit. You know, they're they're tighter windows, it's less
- 3:01Speaker 1: ground to cover, there's not as much open to the
- 3:03Speaker 1: offense in terms of what they're gonna play, and you know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: I think the result is you've seen a lot of
- 3:08Speaker 1: you know, fades to the back corner of the end zone.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I mean, there's just been dozens of them. Usually we
- 3:12Speaker 1: kind of laughed that when they open things up, there's
- 3:14Speaker 1: a lot of little dump offs to the running backs.
- 3:16Speaker 1: There's certainly he's been that too, but the other thing
- 3:19Speaker 1: has been the fades to the receivers. And I mean
- 3:21Speaker 1: you've seen Davante Parker come down with the number of
- 3:24Speaker 1: impressive touchdowns, but you've also seen the defense make some
- 3:27Speaker 1: plays on them too. Sean Wade yesterday was one. You know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: Jalen Mills has been around the ball a little bit
- 3:31Speaker 1: as well. So we'll see if that kind of competitive
- 3:34Speaker 1: period down in the red zone continues today or if
- 3:37Speaker 1: they continue to move back a little bit and open
- 3:39Speaker 1: things up for the offense to give them making a
- 3:41Speaker 1: Jalen Mills we just saw him addressing the crowd. Nice
- 3:44Speaker 1: ovation and it's a pretty good crowd here. It's a
- 3:46Speaker 1: Saturday afternoon here, It's Saturday morning here at Gilt Stadium
- 3:50Speaker 1: in a good crowd. They's just a full, a hills full.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I see a steady stream of people still coming in.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So it's it's a good crowd here for a Saturday morning,
- 4:00Speaker 1: a day four practice. Yeah, this is I mean, this
- 4:02Speaker 1: is as full as i've as I've seen it, at least,
- 4:05Speaker 1: I mean, there's not any spots along the wall now,
- 4:07Speaker 1: a couple of spots in the stands, but it's it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's real hot with the sun that it's a beautiful day.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And there's also some soccer activity going on today, so
- 4:14Speaker 1: I think that you might be getting some of those
- 4:17Speaker 1: parents and and and whatnot. There some youth programs going
- 4:20Speaker 1: on this morning. Yeah, so I think there's more people
- 4:23Speaker 1: here on site, and it's absolutely a bigger crowd than
- 4:26Speaker 1: what we've seen in the last couple of days. You know,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Jalen Mills. You guys brought up Jalen Mills. I think
- 4:30Speaker 1: he's been really really good in coverage so far. A
- 4:33Speaker 1: lot of talk about, you know, who's going to be
- 4:35Speaker 1: the number one corner and everybody says, well, Jalen Mills
- 4:37Speaker 1: is the number one corner because he's the only one
- 4:39Speaker 1: that we know is going to play. But he has
- 4:41Speaker 1: he's played like one so far, so that's a good
- 4:43Speaker 1: sign for him. Yeah. Yeah, one more thing I want
- 4:47Speaker 1: to just throw into you know all the stuff. Well, Mike,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you know, talked about the red zone and you know,
- 4:51Speaker 1: tight quarters. The other thing that's really working in the
- 4:53Speaker 1: defense is uh advantage there is you can't run. Yeah,
- 4:58Speaker 1: so it's not only red zone where you know, the
- 5:01Speaker 1: windows are smaller and whatnot, but you're also the threat
- 5:04Speaker 1: of running the ball was really not not there. But
- 5:06Speaker 1: that said, I don't know if it was last year,
- 5:09Speaker 1: but there have been other summers where out of the
- 5:11Speaker 1: box the offense yeah at the edge. I mean when
- 5:15Speaker 1: obviously when Brady is yeah, but but I but no,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but even last year it didn't. Didn't the offense start
- 5:22Speaker 1: out faster? They struggled last year? Right about that? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I don't recall. My brain is so fired into the
- 5:29Speaker 1: these last three practices, I don't recall that. But I
- 5:32Speaker 1: mean I would say generally, like my philosophy is usually
- 5:34Speaker 1: I give a little bit of edge to the defense
- 5:36Speaker 1: just because it's it's easier to destroy than it is
- 5:38Speaker 1: to create. And the offense, you know, has to work
- 5:40Speaker 1: on timing and all those things. The defense, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: has a little bit of advantage, I would say early on,
- 5:44Speaker 1: but you know, so far with the I I'll have
- 5:47Speaker 1: to go back to Paul's blobservation I would put I
- 5:49Speaker 1: would I would push back on Deuce there and say,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think the advantages with the offense with no pads on.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But let's I would also say, I think Mac has
- 5:56Speaker 1: been better in this camp so far than he was
- 5:59Speaker 1: last year. I mean, I don't really think there's much really, yeah,
- 6:01Speaker 1: I don't think there's much comparison. Well, I think, I
- 6:03Speaker 1: think in terms of knowing what to do, but in
- 6:05Speaker 1: terms of like, you know, just hitting guys. Yeah, I
- 6:08Speaker 1: mean really yeah, I don't know. I I'm gonna push
- 6:11Speaker 1: back on that poles back going on. I thought the
- 6:14Speaker 1: offense looked like a train wreck in training camp last year,
- 6:16Speaker 1: to be honest with you, and it kind of was. Again,
- 6:19Speaker 1: let's go back to last year's blobservations. Yeah, like, do
- 6:23Speaker 1: you have to call me out? Like, what do you
- 6:25Speaker 1: think I wrote on the what do you think? What
- 6:26Speaker 1: do you think I wrote on the blobservations. I mean,
- 6:28Speaker 1: like seriously, on Patriots dot Com, I said this team
- 6:32Speaker 1: might not have across the fifty, but I just i
- 6:35Speaker 1: some for some reason, I recall like early on the
- 6:39Speaker 1: offense just stile my blobservations thrown back in my face. Oh,
- 6:42Speaker 1: they are the written record of what happened. Right, do
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know what I'm talking about? Don't be smart? All right, Well,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I will just say I think, I mean, I respect
- 6:50Speaker 1: to your point, Paul, without pads, you know, I think
- 6:52Speaker 1: there's definitely something to be said for for the offense
- 6:55Speaker 1: having some advantage, and even more so when the defense
- 6:57Speaker 1: has their mittens on. Um. You know, I think I
- 6:59Speaker 1: just more generally football being football that you know, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: would get the edge of the defense overall. But in
- 7:04Speaker 1: that in the specific situation, as he said, I think
- 7:06Speaker 1: you're right. And here comes mac mac jones coming on
- 7:09Speaker 1: the field. You can hear the crowd, can't see him yet,
- 7:15Speaker 1: but we'll get a camera on. He's going to enough
- 7:17Speaker 1: there he is there. He is Matt Judeon at Judean,
- 7:23Speaker 1: despite not really doing anything because he's not practicing, showing
- 7:27Speaker 1: a lot of energy. Matt jood on his practicing. Really
- 7:31Speaker 1: he always comes down at his sweatshirt. Yeah he's sweat guy.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah tell him. Actually, yeah, he's got a whole theory
- 7:37Speaker 1: behind it. We were hearing today which I didn't quite
- 7:38Speaker 1: subscribe to. But yeah, apparently the logic is that when
- 7:42Speaker 1: he gets really sweaty and his sweatshirt is drenched in sweat,
- 7:46Speaker 1: it actually cools him down. I don't really understand, but
- 7:49Speaker 1: if it works for him, it works for him. Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I don't get that either. Yeah, well, he's continuing throwing
- 7:56Speaker 1: throwing balls into the stands, people throwing it back to him. Nice,
- 7:58Speaker 1: nice little way to start practice. I don't know how
- 8:00Speaker 1: he's in a SWI maybe a sweatshirt is like some
- 8:02Speaker 1: NASA material that we don't know about. Well, I remember
- 8:06Speaker 1: last year in uh what he was being interviewed, he
- 8:08Speaker 1: was saying that he, uh, he just as a sweatshirt guy.
- 8:10Speaker 1: He's always got sweatshirts on, so God bless him. He's
- 8:12Speaker 1: sticking to it here even when it's like ninety and humans.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Do we ever mentioned the new wide receiver yesterday? He
- 8:18Speaker 1: hadn't officially been added, but that was officially announced. Josh Hammond, Uh,
- 8:22Speaker 1: you know, nothing, nothing to get too too fired up?
- 8:24Speaker 1: About a little bit of a journeyman, uh, practice squad
- 8:27Speaker 1: kind of a guy. But I guess add some depth
- 8:29Speaker 1: in the slot. If you want to again today, Yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 1: if you want to join the show, the number is
- 8:35Speaker 1: eight five five PATS five hundred. You can call in
- 8:38Speaker 1: at that number eight five five Pats five hundred. You
- 8:41Speaker 1: can also email the show. Web radio at Patriots dot
- 8:45Speaker 1: com is the email address. Web radio at Patriots dot com.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Either way allows you to join us and ask questions
- 8:54Speaker 1: about what we're seeing, what the fields look like, anything
- 8:58Speaker 1: like that. We did have one email, you know, who
- 9:00Speaker 1: wanted a detailed description of the layout of practice and
- 9:06Speaker 1: how it's you know, how they lay it out, and
- 9:09Speaker 1: you know it's easy enough to describe. We're on the
- 9:12Speaker 1: ramps looking down onto the field and you know, going
- 9:16Speaker 1: um north south from us are two fields. So they've
- 9:20Speaker 1: got two practice fields, and they got the bleachers to
- 9:24Speaker 1: the right of that, and behind that is the field
- 9:26Speaker 1: house that they go into, uh if the weather's you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: lightning coming or whatever. And then directly below us, so
- 9:33Speaker 1: where fans are our media, there's a hill where people
- 9:37Speaker 1: sit on the grass. Outside I see food trucks and
- 9:41Speaker 1: games and it's A. It's a real I know you
- 9:44Speaker 1: guys were talking about it a lot yesterday. It's a
- 9:46Speaker 1: great take. You know. It's everything's free, parking's free, there's
- 9:49Speaker 1: no ticket to get in. Uh. You'll never get closer
- 9:53Speaker 1: to players than you are here. Uh, and if you're
- 9:56Speaker 1: lucky enough, you might get an autograph at the end.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So it's a really it takes. So if you haven't
- 10:01Speaker 1: been here, we've got a couple more weeks of this
- 10:03Speaker 1: to go. Uh. You know, you might Checkpatriots dot com
- 10:07Speaker 1: see when the practice schedule is and head on down.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I know that we've already announced next week Monday through
- 10:13Speaker 1: Friday they'll have practice and uh, as of now, all
- 10:17Speaker 1: of them started about nine thirty. Uh, you know, get
- 10:20Speaker 1: here around nine, I would say, or eight forty five
- 10:23Speaker 1: to get your place. The Friday one is the in
- 10:26Speaker 1: stadium for Friday, yes, season ticket members. But the other
- 10:30Speaker 1: ones Monday through Thursday. Ye, same, same bad time right
- 10:35Speaker 1: here on the practice fields behind your Letts Stadium. Okay,
- 10:41Speaker 1: checking off here is guys are rolling in. Yeah, no
- 10:45Speaker 1: early sign again of Brian Hoyer. He's absent yesterday is uh.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Keeping an eye off for Dietrich Wise as well, who
- 10:51Speaker 1: hasn't been back since since the first day, but otherwise
- 10:54Speaker 1: net positive in terms of the guys coming off a pup.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Did you get Josh Bloodsoe's autograph yesterday? I have knocked
- 10:59Speaker 1: your Josh Bledzo photography, but I've been impressed with his
- 11:03Speaker 1: work so far in this camp. I can tell so
- 11:05Speaker 1: as a lot of people. Yeah, I mean he's Yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 1: there's Max Stress trying to get Alex's mike on. Yeah, okay,
- 11:16Speaker 1: what happened? What happen? Oh, of a little technical difficulty.
- 11:23Speaker 1: You see the guys playing with the tennis balls. You
- 11:25Speaker 1: guys mentioned that? Is that a new thing? Yeah? Down here,
- 11:28Speaker 1: I haven't seen that in the last couple of years.
- 11:30Speaker 1: But yeah, another little uhal And who's he doing that with?
- 11:35Speaker 1: I think you can see a galore? Is that Ted Harper?
- 11:37Speaker 1: The kind of looks like Ted Harper, but I don't
- 11:39Speaker 1: know if it is. Yeah, can you guys hear Yeah
- 11:43Speaker 1: it's not. Yeah, not Ted Harper, but similar tight cropped
- 11:48Speaker 1: blonde haircut. Yeah. One of the training staff two hes Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 1: As we're just sort of waiting for all the players
- 11:58Speaker 1: to file out onto the field, were trying to get
- 12:00Speaker 1: some attendance done. That's why you might hear us sort
- 12:02Speaker 1: of reoccupied at times that Chowton playing catch with the fans.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I see Devin mccordy out there early, full uniform yesterday,
- 12:11Speaker 1: he was pretty late. We didn't see much out of him.
- 12:14Speaker 1: He just I think he just got a day off
- 12:16Speaker 1: because he was out here at the start of practice.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Then we didn't really see him in any of the
- 12:20Speaker 1: drills and he was just kind of kind of standing
- 12:22Speaker 1: around a little bit. But I don't think support. I
- 12:24Speaker 1: don't think yeah, I don't think it was anything physical.
- 12:26Speaker 1: But I know I read other people speculated it was
- 12:31Speaker 1: a sort of a you know, a light day veteran,
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know, kind of a rest day. Well, they sure
- 12:36Speaker 1: have the safety depth, and I mean it just, you know,
- 12:37Speaker 1: continues to give a guy like Bledsoe even more opportunity.
- 12:40Speaker 1: When you consider Peppers is out as well, Hopefully you
- 12:44Speaker 1: can see Bloedsoe continue to shine. I mean, it's a
- 12:47Speaker 1: it's a it's a tough client for him to figure
- 12:48Speaker 1: out how to get into lineup, but I really wouldn't
- 12:50Speaker 1: rule him out to seeing how involved he's been in
- 12:52Speaker 1: these first couple of days. Other than Robert Kraft, who
- 12:56Speaker 1: we should Mention was announced as a finalist for the
- 12:59Speaker 1: Hall of Fame the other day, So we'll probably find
- 13:03Speaker 1: out about whether or not he's getting in toward the
- 13:06Speaker 1: end of August, from what I understand, So that'll be
- 13:09Speaker 1: cool if he does. You won't find out if he's
- 13:11Speaker 1: getting in, Well, you find out if he's the last
- 13:13Speaker 1: if he's up for yeah, yeah, and then they have
- 13:16Speaker 1: to closer to the super Bowl. But from what I understand,
- 13:21Speaker 1: anyone who's got to that point has never not been Okay,
- 13:25Speaker 1: good tip. Yeah, Freddy's got the inside uh well yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: and the inside dope on the voting process. And then
- 13:32Speaker 1: we got Richard Seymour. You on that committe fred is
- 13:34Speaker 1: that one? No, I'm not on that committee. I refused.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, ok yeah, but but Richard Seymour going is
- 13:41Speaker 1: going to be inducted a week from today. So yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 1: this year's class. Yeah yeah, we should spe like clarify
- 13:47Speaker 1: that if Robert Kraft does get nominated at next it's
- 13:50Speaker 1: for the class of twenty three. That's right, that's right.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But that'll be excellent if that happens, and I think
- 13:56Speaker 1: he should. I mean, considering others that have gone in
- 13:59Speaker 1: and list the contributor list. I think he should. I
- 14:03Speaker 1: mean all that he's contributed to the league. You know,
- 14:06Speaker 1: obviously people mentioned the six Super Bowls and what he's
- 14:09Speaker 1: done for this franchise and and that's cool, but I
- 14:13Speaker 1: think the Pro Football Hall of Fame, you know, when
- 14:15Speaker 1: it comes to owners, that criteria should be what have
- 14:18Speaker 1: you contributed to the overall game to pro football? And
- 14:23Speaker 1: I think in that respect, he's done a lot. You know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: when you talk about the CBA and the revenues that
- 14:29Speaker 1: he's negotiated with the TV deals, you know, the stability
- 14:32Speaker 1: that the league has had, um, you know, work his
- 14:37Speaker 1: diplomacy intact and working with other owners and and and
- 14:41Speaker 1: you know, uh, these I just I mean if you
- 14:44Speaker 1: if you just looked at the owners in general, and
- 14:46Speaker 1: there's a lot of you know, well known, big name
- 14:48Speaker 1: owners in in the NFL, how many of them would
- 14:52Speaker 1: you say, you know, exceed Robert Kraft right with that
- 14:55Speaker 1: kind of stuff that you're talking about. His participation on
- 14:58Speaker 1: all these committees, um, you know, instrumental part of say that,
- 15:01Speaker 1: you know, the television and media rights which is really
- 15:04Speaker 1: the lifeblood of the league right now in terms of
- 15:06Speaker 1: their revenue. I mean, he's the chairman of it. Yeah,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I mean I don't. I don't really see how you
- 15:11Speaker 1: can make an argument for owners other than rob you know, above,
- 15:15Speaker 1: you know, over and above Robert Kraft, right, And I
- 15:17Speaker 1: know everybody's gonna make fun of us for that, but yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: as it may, I think it's just a fact. What
- 15:21Speaker 1: are you gonna do? Yeah, you know, Now it's another
- 15:25Speaker 1: discussion of whether do you think owners should go into
- 15:27Speaker 1: the Pro Football Hall. That's another discussion. I'll abstand from
- 15:30Speaker 1: that conversation. That's another discussion. But as long as they are,
- 15:33Speaker 1: he should get in, correct. And you know, like Jerry Jones,
- 15:36Speaker 1: who I think is a worthy owner in the Pro
- 15:39Speaker 1: Football Hall of Fame, right, I think he did a
- 15:41Speaker 1: lot of things to sort of pave the way for
- 15:43Speaker 1: the way that a lot of these teams conduct business
- 15:46Speaker 1: now right off the field. Yeah, and yeah, I mean,
- 15:49Speaker 1: if you're gonna put owners in, those are the kinds
- 15:51Speaker 1: of owners to me that go in, not just you
- 15:53Speaker 1: own a team that was very successful, right, You own
- 15:55Speaker 1: a team that was very successful, and you were a
- 15:57Speaker 1: big part of the growth of the league, right, you know,
- 16:00Speaker 1: off the field, and you know, the growth of the
- 16:02Speaker 1: league doesn't just help the owner's pockets. It does, but
- 16:05Speaker 1: it helps the players. You know, the more revenue they
- 16:08Speaker 1: bring in, the higher that salary cap goes, you know,
- 16:11Speaker 1: so it helps everybody. So the teams in its stretching
- 16:16Speaker 1: period right now, where offensive defense come together on one field,
- 16:21Speaker 1: they do the stretching and then they'll break out into
- 16:23Speaker 1: their position groups start doing drills after that. Just a
- 16:27Speaker 1: programming note. We do video up to a certain point,
- 16:32Speaker 1: so I think around nine fifty ten o'clock we're gonna
- 16:35Speaker 1: have to actually shut down the video. We'll continue with
- 16:38Speaker 1: audio throughout practice, so we'll be here until the end
- 16:42Speaker 1: of practice describing what we see. But per team rules,
- 16:46Speaker 1: we can only have video going to a certain point,
- 16:49Speaker 1: so we'll give you that countdown closer to ten o'clock,
- 16:52Speaker 1: so we've still got some time with the video. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 1: just see jokes, and there he is. I was gonna
- 16:58Speaker 1: just about to say the only new since I was
- 17:01Speaker 1: seeing was Trent Brown, but here comes to sell. He
- 17:03Speaker 1: was the He was running the last guys out yesterday too.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Takes them a while to get from the other side
- 17:09Speaker 1: of the stadium equipment. Yeah, yeah, but good time you
- 17:13Speaker 1: made it through a few, you know, Just get through
- 17:14Speaker 1: these first four practices, maybe without hopefully you know, you
- 17:19Speaker 1: speak up, you know, don't take that for granted, because
- 17:21Speaker 1: Buffalo already suffered an injury one of their defensive backs. Yeah,
- 17:26Speaker 1: Mica Hide. It sounds like he's day to day. So
- 17:28Speaker 1: they got the bullet and then uh, I think one
- 17:31Speaker 1: of the center for Tampa Bay. Yeah, he's going to
- 17:34Speaker 1: be gone for the year. It's a big one. Yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 1: actually cut down on they have team penalties, thought, he
- 17:41Speaker 1: has three penalties. Again, He's a bull in a china shop.
- 17:44Speaker 1: So yeah, that's I mean, they was speculating about that
- 17:47Speaker 1: with Brady though, like you know what, that's the one
- 17:49Speaker 1: kryptonite that he has, is that interioror pressure. And it's true.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You take away his Pro Bowl center and Ryan Jensen
- 17:55Speaker 1: not good. I'll take you up. I'm gonna make it
- 17:57Speaker 1: early prediction this this this season when it comes to Brady,
- 18:02Speaker 1: this is gonna be the year where I mean, he's
- 18:04Speaker 1: not gonna collapse. He's not gonna fall off the cliff,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but you'll see, you'll notice a decline and I believe
- 18:10Speaker 1: he will too. This will be his last season. That's
- 18:13Speaker 1: always what I wondered with him was, you know was
- 18:15Speaker 1: it was he gonna go out before you kind of
- 18:17Speaker 1: noticed it, or was he gonna squeeze it? I just
- 18:20Speaker 1: think like the way he is, I thought he was
- 18:22Speaker 1: gonna squeeze it. And yeah, I will see. I mean,
- 18:24Speaker 1: it's just all about health too. I mean, like it's
- 18:26Speaker 1: so lucky to be healthy to me. I just can't
- 18:28Speaker 1: see it declined. As long as he's physically able to play,
- 18:31Speaker 1: He's not gonna fall off a cliff, but he will.
- 18:34Speaker 1: He will in his terms, he will not play as
- 18:38Speaker 1: good as he wants, and that'll be good for him. Well,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I mean, I just I mean, I see no physical
- 18:42Speaker 1: decline him and there's been no mental decline. And you know,
- 18:45Speaker 1: if there if and when there is decline, what does
- 18:47Speaker 1: it look like? You know, is he is he not
- 18:49Speaker 1: processing as fast? As? Does that happen as you get
- 18:51Speaker 1: old in your forties? I'd like to pick not right.
- 18:54Speaker 1: My questions come from all the speculation about him really
- 18:57Speaker 1: wanting to go to Miami this year, him right potentially
- 19:00Speaker 1: doing that. So where's the investment level with him and
- 19:03Speaker 1: the Bucks this year? Yeah, that's my question. That's why
- 19:06Speaker 1: I just don't see a decline because I think he
- 19:07Speaker 1: still has things he wants to do. Yeah, that's hard
- 19:10Speaker 1: to I mean, how do you doubt that? Mean? Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I mean I would never go on right saying, oh,
- 19:14Speaker 1: I think this is it for him the way this
- 19:15Speaker 1: game has played. Yeah, he's not getting touched. It's not
- 19:17Speaker 1: gonna get hit. You can't touch him. So and if
- 19:21Speaker 1: to me, as long as he continues to want to play.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Now he retired, right, he retired for you know, obviously
- 19:26Speaker 1: a very brief period, so he might just decide I'm
- 19:28Speaker 1: not going to do it anymore. Yeah, I think that
- 19:30Speaker 1: was a leverage move. I think I think it was
- 19:32Speaker 1: too And that's why I don't think this is his
- 19:34Speaker 1: last year. Yeah. Well that's why I'm putting it out
- 19:37Speaker 1: there because it's a kind of a I'm more concerned
- 19:40Speaker 1: about your decline comment than your retired. He could retired,
- 19:43Speaker 1: but you say he's going to decline a little bit
- 19:45Speaker 1: and this is going to be it. Yeah enough for
- 19:47Speaker 1: him to say, you know, would be the prediction that
- 19:49Speaker 1: your prediction is that he's going to decline. Yep, Yeah,
- 19:52Speaker 1: that's that to me, is putting yourself out there. Okay,
- 19:54Speaker 1: that's a Freddie Kirsch prediction right there. All right, And
- 19:56Speaker 1: you know I love me some Tom braid, I know
- 19:58Speaker 1: you you love you Often we've often kissed them, so
- 20:01Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know often it's the right word.
- 20:04Speaker 1: But there wasn't a case and it happened, so therefore
- 20:08Speaker 1: it's it's often. It's more than most can say. Words matter.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Poll looks like we gotta looks like they've opened up
- 20:14Speaker 1: here the side of the stadium. We've got some fans
- 20:16Speaker 1: kind of walking up towards our area, which usually reserved
- 20:19Speaker 1: for when it's it's really really busy. So it shows
- 20:21Speaker 1: you there's a there's a good sized crowd here today
- 20:24Speaker 1: to check out today's practice. Yeah, so what Deuce is
- 20:27Speaker 1: referring to is the ramps behind you Lett Stadium. Um,
- 20:31Speaker 1: they open those up when there's no more room in
- 20:33Speaker 1: the bleachers or the hill. And so we see, we
- 20:36Speaker 1: see fans coming up here. So that means we probably
- 20:39Speaker 1: you know, we're probably getting close to ten thousand people
- 20:41Speaker 1: who are so yeah, well you're laughing, No, okay, Well
- 20:49Speaker 1: we're getting ready. I just wonder what's gonna change how
- 20:51Speaker 1: Paul your duels back here we go. Oh that's a
- 20:54Speaker 1: staple now, guy, I don't even I don't even write
- 20:56Speaker 1: about it anymore. Yeah, we're referring to Well, we talked
- 20:59Speaker 1: about the extensive amount of back corner fades, and they've
- 21:03Speaker 1: got the they call it a ball neat ball neat
- 21:06Speaker 1: back there you guys to throw over it. So get
- 21:09Speaker 1: moving now, offense on the right side and defense on
- 21:12Speaker 1: the left. Uh, let's see. Well, let's go to the
- 21:17Speaker 1: a sticket outline at weight five five pats five hundred.
- 21:20Speaker 1: We've got Jerry in Ontario on the line. Hey, Jerry,
- 21:24Speaker 1: what's going on? Hello Jerry? Hello? Yo? Right, what do
- 21:31Speaker 1: you got, Jerry? Jerry can't Hello Jerry. We'll try it
- 21:41Speaker 1: one more time, Go Jerry. I don't think he knows
- 21:47Speaker 1: he's on the air. Yeah, yeah, I think he's talking
- 21:50Speaker 1: to somebody else. Oh that could be too Yeah, I
- 21:52Speaker 1: think you have it, Freddy. Yeah, Patty's an agawam. What's up, Patty?
- 21:57Speaker 1: He's probably out in the stands. What's up, Patty? I
- 22:00Speaker 1: just wanted to uh care camp memory and tell anyone
- 22:05Speaker 1: that's thinking about coming to camp. It's it's definitely a
- 22:07Speaker 1: great idea. Like you guys have to complain, but before
- 22:10Speaker 1: I do call you hit the nail on the head
- 22:11Speaker 1: with Terry Jones who as far as the orders, I
- 22:14Speaker 1: was gonna call up and say he definitely belongs to
- 22:17Speaker 1: their first contributions despite him being sort of a nep
- 22:21Speaker 1: on the field, you know, with the product on the
- 22:23Speaker 1: field and getting his hands too too far into the cake,
- 22:27Speaker 1: you know. Um, But I just want to say the
- 22:30Speaker 1: first time I went to training camp was twenty fourteen
- 22:33Speaker 1: and go to see the battles between Duley and Edelman
- 22:37Speaker 1: a Darrell Rivers, which was unbelievable to watch in practice,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and you never know what you're gonna get. You never
- 22:43Speaker 1: know what you're gonna see. And probably the biggest takeaway
- 22:47Speaker 1: I had was the end of the practice, Tom Brady
- 22:51Speaker 1: went around and was signing autographs. I didn't then to
- 22:54Speaker 1: get his autographs, but my oldest daughter at the time,
- 22:57Speaker 1: who was twelve, who could care less about football after
- 23:00Speaker 1: he cost us, was like, wow, that was awesome, you know.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, I had I had a nephew. Yeah, Patty,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I had. My nephew was here yesterday, so you know,
- 23:10Speaker 1: I think he's he's thirteen, and yeah, he had a
- 23:14Speaker 1: great time. He had a couple of players come over
- 23:16Speaker 1: and talked to him a little bit. Got I think
- 23:18Speaker 1: Hunter Henry signed a football for him and yeah it
- 23:22Speaker 1: you know, between the football act, the actual football on
- 23:24Speaker 1: the field, and the interaction with the players after the practice,
- 23:28Speaker 1: he was he was really excited about being here. I
- 23:30Speaker 1: hear the Douce crew is here. Douce crew is here,
- 23:33Speaker 1: the full Douce crew is here. I got my wife,
- 23:35Speaker 1: both kids, my dad, two of my nieces, and my
- 23:38Speaker 1: brother in law. The famous hockey ref is is here.
- 23:41Speaker 1: So we got Oh, I gotta meet Gino. Yeah you
- 23:43Speaker 1: should come down out to its. You gotta go talk
- 23:45Speaker 1: a little northeastern. He'll be like, I know you, I
- 23:48Speaker 1: know that voice. But I know that voice, sir, and
- 23:51Speaker 1: it was a trip. Oh man, I mean he'll he'll
- 23:54Speaker 1: tell you right now. Gino not afraid to to bark
- 23:56Speaker 1: right back at some of the people that they like
- 23:58Speaker 1: to yell at him. But no, pretty cool. I'm curious
- 24:01Speaker 1: how my kids, how they enjoy it, what they take
- 24:03Speaker 1: in today. Tease my son, I was gonna make them
- 24:06Speaker 1: come race Taekwon Thorne and he didn't seem too fond
- 24:08Speaker 1: to that. But now it's an awesome day and a
- 24:11Speaker 1: great crowd and uh, it's just good to see the excitement,
- 24:13Speaker 1: you know, I mean, there's been obviously a lot of
- 24:15Speaker 1: change over the last few years, but it seems like,
- 24:17Speaker 1: you know, this kind of thing is still bringing in
- 24:19Speaker 1: all the Patriots fans to check out what this year's
- 24:21Speaker 1: edition of the team's looking like. Let's go back to
- 24:24Speaker 1: the phone. Jerry from Ontario is back on the phone,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and I understand he's gonna talk to us this time.
- 24:29Speaker 1: What's up, Jerry? Hey, sorry about that, guys, that's a problem,
- 24:33Speaker 1: no worries with our many number one drop bus. What
- 24:37Speaker 1: is it going to take for Cold Strange to be
- 24:39Speaker 1: successful as a career wise? For us, just start consistently
- 24:44Speaker 1: for ten years play well? Yeah, yeah, yay, well yeah,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, offensive line is tough. You know,
- 24:51Speaker 1: it's how do you know when a guard is really
- 24:54Speaker 1: playing well? And you know, but I like, if he's
- 24:57Speaker 1: a starter for a number of years, us through a
- 25:00Speaker 1: couple of contracts. I was gonna say, if he gets
- 25:02Speaker 1: a second contract and that you know, but you know what,
- 25:05Speaker 1: that can go either way too, because like you know,
- 25:07Speaker 1: Tuny ended up getting the franchise tag and Mason did
- 25:11Speaker 1: get the second contract, and yet they didn't really stay
- 25:15Speaker 1: through those But I would say, I would say both
- 25:17Speaker 1: of them, Mason, what's a successful drove? Both of them were,
- 25:20Speaker 1: you know, highly successful draft picks. They would they played
- 25:22Speaker 1: at the highest level. Yep. Yeah. I think Tuney is
- 25:26Speaker 1: unique in that he had a lot of versatility. I'm
- 25:29Speaker 1: not sure cole Strange has that, but you know, that's
- 25:33Speaker 1: like what's the ceiling. And I think everybody is penciling
- 25:35Speaker 1: him in, even you know, right now the Patriots penciling
- 25:37Speaker 1: him in a left guard. And it's great that you
- 25:39Speaker 1: get a starter. I mean, Joe Tuney really good player,
- 25:42Speaker 1: really reliable. I don't think he ever missed a snap practically. Um.
- 25:46Speaker 1: But you know, there's also guys like Logan Mankins that
- 25:48Speaker 1: earn the respect around the league. Is one of the
- 25:51Speaker 1: like difference makers at guards, you know, and so son
- 25:54Speaker 1: cole Strange is a first round pick, you know, have
- 25:56Speaker 1: have a little bit of an attitude or bring a
- 25:58Speaker 1: little bit of an edge to it. You know, nothing
- 26:00Speaker 1: against Joe Tuoney, I'm sure that you know, those are
- 26:02Speaker 1: comparable kind of players, but you know, Mankins just had
- 26:05Speaker 1: that extra little bit of nastiness that in his personality
- 26:08Speaker 1: that I think was it was a big part of
- 26:09Speaker 1: the kind of the personality the Patriots front. So you know,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I know Cole Strange has got a little bit of
- 26:13Speaker 1: that in him. Um and a nice job yesterday by
- 26:15Speaker 1: Cole winning winning the punt grab as well, so showed
- 26:19Speaker 1: off a little of his athleticism. He just uh he
- 26:22Speaker 1: talked yesterday or two days ago after practice that he
- 26:24Speaker 1: just seems he seems fully in it and uh and
- 26:26Speaker 1: doing whatever they asked him to do. And my personal
- 26:28Speaker 1: favorite moment of that little sequence was he caught the
- 26:33Speaker 1: second punt. So they both caught the first one. I
- 26:36Speaker 1: think this was sort of I think I think they
- 26:38Speaker 1: were sure changed him and DeMarcus Mitchell, another undrafted rookie. Uh,
- 26:42Speaker 1: they had to do it after the two regular punt
- 26:44Speaker 1: returners Nixon and Jones. They both caught their first one
- 26:48Speaker 1: and then Mitchell dropped the second one with the ball
- 26:50Speaker 1: on his hand. Strange was able to catch the second
- 26:53Speaker 1: one with the ball already in his hand, and he
- 26:55Speaker 1: immediately ran over Freddie and jumped on Bill BELLII, which
- 26:59Speaker 1: was I thought the highlight of the whole sequel too.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I just wanted to go over and say hi to him.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I I wanted to know if you wanted to go
- 27:04Speaker 1: to five guys. Yeah, he hits a good quotes yesterday.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So I really, uh, you know, it's it's too bad
- 27:10Speaker 1: that you know, he's got this like oh you're a
- 27:12Speaker 1: reach in first round and all that, because he's he
- 27:14Speaker 1: really seems like a good guy and you know, another
- 27:16Speaker 1: one of those offensive lineman that always just seemed to
- 27:18Speaker 1: be uh, you know, down to earth and kind of funny.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I mean, he's just you know, you mentioned so you
- 27:23Speaker 1: mentioned that like he felt comfortable enough to go over
- 27:27Speaker 1: and and you know, do that with Bill. And then
- 27:30Speaker 1: we've heard you know, Bill, you know, uh, complimenting a
- 27:34Speaker 1: lot of players both you know, free agents and rookies,
- 27:38Speaker 1: and and is Bill adjusting to a different team, and
- 27:43Speaker 1: that this isn't a team with huge expectations, you know,
- 27:47Speaker 1: led by Tom Brady. It's a team that might need
- 27:50Speaker 1: a little bit more support from him, you know. So
- 27:54Speaker 1: it's I think it's in play. I think that theory.
- 27:57Speaker 1: And I threw that out there and one of the
- 27:59Speaker 1: one of the camp casts here just wondering if Bill
- 28:03Speaker 1: is you know, using this as opportunities to say, you
- 28:05Speaker 1: know what, you guys can play. I got I have
- 28:08Speaker 1: faith in you guys. I know what people were saying,
- 28:10Speaker 1: but it kind of two years ago with Cam Newton, well,
- 28:14Speaker 1: I mean it was over the top. Yeah yeah, yeah, Well,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I mean those teams, those teams felt a little bit
- 28:20Speaker 1: like you're trying to figure yourself out. And not to
- 28:22Speaker 1: say that, I don't think this team has to figure
- 28:24Speaker 1: themselves out. All teams do, but it's hard to for
- 28:28Speaker 1: those twenty twenty and twenty twenty one teams to really
- 28:31Speaker 1: embrace that kind of underdog role. I think, like, I
- 28:34Speaker 1: feel like this team should do that. I feel like
- 28:36Speaker 1: this team really should feel like everyone's saying, we didn't
- 28:39Speaker 1: punt against Buffalo, Miami got us twice. Yeah, we finished
- 28:42Speaker 1: second in the division, we made the playoffs, but we
- 28:44Speaker 1: had you know, the losey Street. Nobody really thinks we're
- 28:47Speaker 1: actually that good. So the other two teams previously, it's
- 28:50Speaker 1: hard to say you're you're you got Cam Newton, you
- 28:52Speaker 1: don't really know what you are. You're in the wake
- 28:54Speaker 1: of Brady leaving last year, you had a rookie quarterback.
- 28:56Speaker 1: It's hard to really say you know what you are.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But now you got your quarterback, you kind of know
- 29:01Speaker 1: who your team is. And I like playing the underdog
- 29:04Speaker 1: card with these guys. I mean, they should be listening
- 29:05Speaker 1: to everything that's being said about them that you know,
- 29:07Speaker 1: they aren't really all that good, that they're you know,
- 29:10Speaker 1: a lower half team in the AFC at best, um,
- 29:13Speaker 1: you know, and come out and play with that chip
- 29:14Speaker 1: on their shoulders. I think that's what this team really
- 29:16Speaker 1: needs to do. Let's get back to the phones. Eight
- 29:19Speaker 1: five five, pass, five hundred. They're stacked up here. Let's
- 29:22Speaker 1: go to Willem and Phillham. What's up, William? Great? How
- 29:26Speaker 1: are you doing that? Good? How are you? I'm okay here, Yeah,
- 29:30Speaker 1: it worked out, but uh but I'm okay, okay, you're
- 29:33Speaker 1: worked up? What have you worked up about? No? I
- 29:37Speaker 1: mean no, I'm just saying no, I'm I'm at work.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Oh you're at work? Okay, yeah, okay too. But my
- 29:43Speaker 1: quest I have just well two questions. One is once
- 29:46Speaker 1: about Thor and the other one is about just Boston
- 29:49Speaker 1: as a whole basis. So, um, I'm big on twin
- 29:52Speaker 1: plant Thor and I hope he I hope he really does.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Pinned out man just killed the narrative that that Bill
- 29:59Speaker 1: King draft receivers. You mean yep, I mean we're all
- 30:04Speaker 1: hoping for that second round pick. I mean, yeah, he's
- 30:06Speaker 1: gotta he's gotta produce. Yes, and dude, let me. I
- 30:11Speaker 1: just want to ask all of you. I ask just
- 30:13Speaker 1: a question, basement. How how is bo I've never been
- 30:17Speaker 1: to a Patriot game? And no I want to come
- 30:21Speaker 1: up to Boston. But I hear things about Boston and
- 30:23Speaker 1: I hope it ain't true though, you know what I mean?
- 30:25Speaker 1: So can you share some light on that for me? Yeah?
- 30:28Speaker 1: I think I think come on up, you'll have a
- 30:31Speaker 1: great time. Yeah, it's not there. I mean sure, it's
- 30:36Speaker 1: just like any other city where you have its problems.
- 30:38Speaker 1: But come on up, you won't have a problem. You'll
- 30:41Speaker 1: have a great time at the stadium. Uh you know,
- 30:45Speaker 1: um like there were years ago, like back in the
- 30:48Speaker 1: seventies and the old stadium, I mean, people just got
- 30:51Speaker 1: blindly drunk and it was a it was a whole
- 30:54Speaker 1: different atmosphere. But now, yeah, you'll be fine. You'll be fine,
- 30:57Speaker 1: You'll have a great time. Yep. I'll thank your worry on.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Thank you so much for it. Thank you all right,
- 31:03Speaker 1: all right, William, And when you do, let us know
- 31:05Speaker 1: you're coming out, all right, Yeah, come out. We'll make
- 31:07Speaker 1: sure you have a good time. Let's go to Ken.
- 31:12Speaker 1: What's up. Let's see Kenny Ken. What's up? Where are
- 31:15Speaker 1: you from? Kenny More? Good morning? Um, I'm from Rhode
- 31:18Speaker 1: Island actually, and I'm calling to tell you about my
- 31:21Speaker 1: experience and for practices. Okay, which which practices? This year?
- 31:26Speaker 1: We were cling me and my son frequent flyers. Actually
- 31:32Speaker 1: we were there Monday also yesterday Monday. Will be there
- 31:36Speaker 1: Monday and Tuesday next week. Okay, all right, UM, my
- 31:39Speaker 1: son was fortunate to get some autographs. He's an't play
- 31:42Speaker 1: his gloves, so he has four piers of gloves. He
- 31:46Speaker 1: owns um he owns Mac Jones autograph football yesterday. So
- 31:52Speaker 1: yesterday was a good day. But I do have I
- 31:56Speaker 1: have ninety percent positive ongoing. I have to. But the
- 32:00Speaker 1: one negative I was going to ask you about is
- 32:03Speaker 1: we have my son at a disability and I'm disabled.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Also we sit in the tent, are you but we're
- 32:10Speaker 1: asking to sit in the stands and the bleachers and
- 32:13Speaker 1: that he was so hot. Yeah, I'm asking what the
- 32:16Speaker 1: rules are, um, because we weren't allowed to sit there.
- 32:20Speaker 1: And you know afterwards autograph time was everybody jumps you
- 32:25Speaker 1: in the middle, and I know, I know, I hear
- 32:28Speaker 1: it gets clouded. Um, will the tent be open again?
- 32:32Speaker 1: Like today? It looks like it's pretty clouded in there. Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 1: When you say the tent, are you talking about the
- 32:38Speaker 1: community relations tent in the far corner or I don't know, Yes,
- 32:43Speaker 1: Andreosi Foundation is yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, I don't
- 32:47Speaker 1: know the procedure for getting into that. Yeah, you need
- 32:50Speaker 1: to be yeah, to be part of one of their groups. Yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 1: that happens to be getting hosted that time. Well, that
- 32:54Speaker 1: also allowed the handicapped and disabled in there. Okay, so
- 32:58Speaker 1: did you so the PA and have you ever been
- 33:02Speaker 1: in that tent in the past. I've been in there
- 33:05Speaker 1: numerous times that normally will we sit every day? Okay?
- 33:09Speaker 1: So how did you get in before? We just go
- 33:13Speaker 1: to the end of the thing and we tell them,
- 33:15Speaker 1: you know, you have a disability, which she does, and um,
- 33:19Speaker 1: they let you sit in there. But then they told
- 33:21Speaker 1: her when we got there yesterday there were no cheers.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Oh okay, So I see a lot of other areas
- 33:27Speaker 1: that that I see. Um, you know in the front
- 33:29Speaker 1: of the stands, um, you know, as you walked out
- 33:33Speaker 1: and we had we were allowed to sit in the
- 33:37Speaker 1: front row that in this in this real chairs the
- 33:41Speaker 1: access but um, it's hard to sit in a heat.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I really like the I like the recommendation that you
- 33:49Speaker 1: said yesterday the day before. I'm Kim about putting a
- 33:53Speaker 1: tent up there. We need more sheets. Yeah, I'm covering
- 33:56Speaker 1: over the bleachers right right. So you know, Ken, Um,
- 34:00Speaker 1: I think the case the other day might have been
- 34:02Speaker 1: it just might have been just full. Uh you know,
- 34:05Speaker 1: so well, yeah they had the special Olympics in that.
- 34:09Speaker 1: But I mean, but then there was some people that
- 34:12Speaker 1: will let back in. Yeah, oh well we have a
- 34:15Speaker 1: little group. There is a well there's a group of
- 34:18Speaker 1: people that are regular. I said and that, and then
- 34:22Speaker 1: I asked and then they're like, well, you can't go
- 34:25Speaker 1: back in there today. I'm like, okay, sorry, that is positive.
- 34:30Speaker 1: There's just the you know that question of yeah, and
- 34:33Speaker 1: just some rules like good videotape and one you go
- 34:37Speaker 1: one employee at no video, no video. I think they
- 34:40Speaker 1: should be posting more signs. Yeah. I don't see how
- 34:43Speaker 1: they should be stopping any fans from taking video. Thanks
- 34:46Speaker 1: for the call, Ken, And what I would recommend too
- 34:49Speaker 1: is that there is a number you can call before
- 34:51Speaker 1: you come to request specific accommodations. If you guys need
- 34:55Speaker 1: a little more help with accessibility getting around having shade.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Um you have the number, I'm looking for it now,
- 35:02Speaker 1: but um I wrote about it in my Patriots Training
- 35:04Speaker 1: Camp guide. Okay, well when you see if you can
- 35:08Speaker 1: find it, and we'll throw that number out there. It
- 35:11Speaker 1: is efforting for Ken or anyone else that all right,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I got a number for you. The training camp hotline
- 35:17Speaker 1: is five eight five four nine zero zero zero one. Okay,
- 35:23Speaker 1: easy enough to remember, correct, five away five for nine
- 35:27Speaker 1: zero zero zero one. So yeah, give him a call,
- 35:31Speaker 1: you know, before you come down and make sure you
- 35:33Speaker 1: have your accommodations ready. Let's do while you're sort of
- 35:37Speaker 1: lining up the next phone call there, Freddy Deuce I
- 35:39Speaker 1: would say, it's kind of a similar setup as yesterday.
- 35:43Speaker 1: At the start of this practice is some one on
- 35:44Speaker 1: one stuff with receivers in defensive back sort of working
- 35:49Speaker 1: on their jams and getting off the line whatnot. And
- 35:53Speaker 1: I also would would point out with with Brian hoy
- 35:56Speaker 1: or not spotted again today, another great opportunity for Bailey Zappy.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I thought he got more reps in the Thursday practice.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Obviously got really a ton of experience yesterday being the
- 36:09Speaker 1: only you know, one of only two guys out there,
- 36:12Speaker 1: and he's gonna get another one of those chances today.
- 36:14Speaker 1: So I think that's a really good opportunity for a
- 36:17Speaker 1: rookie quarterback to to really be out there and getting
- 36:20Speaker 1: the amount of work that he's been getting so far
- 36:22Speaker 1: in camp. Yeah, it's it's funny how it works, Paul.
- 36:24Speaker 1: You think, you know some of the reps that Jared
- 36:27Speaker 1: Stidham was had to scrounge for some of his time.
- 36:29Speaker 1: You know, sometimes it just lines up. You got three quarterbacks,
- 36:32Speaker 1: one is out right now, and all of a sudden,
- 36:34Speaker 1: you know, Bailey's appy's just getting thrown into the flame,
- 36:36Speaker 1: so to speak. I think it's awesome. It's an awesome
- 36:39Speaker 1: way to give him a big jump, get him a
- 36:41Speaker 1: bunch of reps that ordinarily he might not get. I'm
- 36:43Speaker 1: sure I'm sure that they usually would, you know, make
- 36:45Speaker 1: an effort to make sure he gets maybe a little
- 36:47Speaker 1: bit more than Hoyer. But it's just without Horrier here,
- 36:49Speaker 1: he's getting double of probably what he would have gotten anyway.
- 36:52Speaker 1: So it's good. When Bill said I en off was
- 36:55Speaker 1: day one or day two is first or second press
- 36:57Speaker 1: conference where he said everybody's gonna get an opportunity. He's
- 37:00Speaker 1: not kidding. You know, everybody will get that opportunity. The
- 37:04Speaker 1: question is what do you do with it? And that
- 37:06Speaker 1: will determine how many opportunities you get after that, you know,
- 37:10Speaker 1: So that first one everyone's gonna get, you know, that
- 37:14Speaker 1: was that was just real quick. That was an interesting
- 37:16Speaker 1: little one, you know, one on run rep. They're not
- 37:18Speaker 1: really pressing, the cornerbacks aren't really trying to press. But
- 37:20Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting. It was Jack Jones going
- 37:22Speaker 1: against Jacoby Myers, and you know, Jack Jones really kind
- 37:25Speaker 1: of quick and aggressive and kind of all over guys,
- 37:28Speaker 1: and I think it just kind of illustrated. Jacoby gave
- 37:30Speaker 1: him a little shift and then was able to slip
- 37:32Speaker 1: inside of him and lose him. Uh. Just an example
- 37:36Speaker 1: of on the defensive side of the ball of the
- 37:38Speaker 1: rookie cornerbacks. You know how you can't be over aggressive.
- 37:41Speaker 1: You can't get caught leaning one way or else. These
- 37:43Speaker 1: guys are too smart and too good. They're gonna dust you.
- 37:45Speaker 1: And you know, my my expert football, I do that.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I do know it. That almost always fails me. I
- 37:51Speaker 1: will what is freely admit it? What does that wise,
- 37:54Speaker 1: I see Paul my my football I saw yesterday. I
- 37:57Speaker 1: feel like Jacoby Myers looks a little shiftiers to me, yea,
- 38:00Speaker 1: And I wonder if it was that play looked like
- 38:02Speaker 1: it to me. I wonder if the footwork maybe was
- 38:04Speaker 1: something that he was really focusing on. You know, I
- 38:07Speaker 1: think he probably heard a lot of people say, well,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know, he had eighty some odd catches last year,
- 38:10Speaker 1: but you know, we had a you know, he has
- 38:12Speaker 1: a hard time with making plays with the ball in
- 38:14Speaker 1: his hands after the catch and whatnot. The interception that
- 38:17Speaker 1: Mac Jones threw yesterday was intended Myers was the receiver.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Myers absolutely undressed Jalen Mills on that play with a
- 38:27Speaker 1: little quake, quick move to the inside, fake to the inside,
- 38:31Speaker 1: and a quick cut to the outside, and Mills was
- 38:33Speaker 1: standing basically flat footed. Now, unfortunately for the Patriots, there
- 38:37Speaker 1: was a miscommunication on the play. I think Mac is
- 38:40Speaker 1: the one who actually was responsible. He threw it right
- 38:42Speaker 1: to Jalen Mills. So that'll be it for our video
- 38:46Speaker 1: portion of the show. We're gonna have to go to
- 38:48Speaker 1: just audio for the rest of practice. But have no fear,
- 38:51Speaker 1: we'll be here here until the end. Of practice video
- 38:55Speaker 1: I mean audio only due to team rules, so probably
- 38:58Speaker 1: a good time to take a break. So Matt Morrell
- 39:01Speaker 1: down in the studio, why don't we do that. We'll
- 39:02Speaker 1: take a break when we come back. More analysis and

- 43:06Speaker 1: training camp high above the practice fields behind Jillette Stadium,
- 43:10Speaker 1: and we'll be here for the duration of practice. It's
- 43:13Speaker 1: Fred Kirsh, Paul Parillo, Alex Francisco and Mike do So
- 43:18Speaker 1: and obviously we had to turn off our cameras so
- 43:21Speaker 1: we're audio only for the duration of practice, but we'll
- 43:24Speaker 1: do our best to let you know what's going on
- 43:27Speaker 1: through our eyes. Right now, offenses to the right of us,
- 43:32Speaker 1: defenses to the left of us. Offensive linemen are down
- 43:36Speaker 1: in Dante's Inferno. We're gonna still call it that, even
- 43:39Speaker 1: though Dante's not here. It'll be forever called that. That's
- 43:42Speaker 1: like a section way in the back where all the
- 43:44Speaker 1: offensive linemen go. I was talking to Sebastian Vohmer the
- 43:48Speaker 1: other day, who was here, and he was saying, I've
- 43:52Speaker 1: said humble Burke. Well, no, I was saying, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 1: during practice, were those man on man's like the toughest
- 43:58Speaker 1: thing that you had to do? He goes, it wasn't
- 44:01Speaker 1: so much that it was the running that he would
- 44:04Speaker 1: make us do before that. So by the time you
- 44:07Speaker 1: got to the man on man's you were like huffing
- 44:09Speaker 1: and puppet. Yeah, you know. I mean, the man on
- 44:12Speaker 1: man's offsis exhausting as it is, and if you've already
- 44:15Speaker 1: like broken a sweat and been oh, it's just you're
- 44:17Speaker 1: already poop. But that's yeah, I mean, that's football. Though
- 44:21Speaker 1: part I hated about it, It's like it's happened. It
- 44:23Speaker 1: all happened so fast you have no chance to really
- 44:25Speaker 1: gather yourself. It's just fast and furious. Speaking of he
- 44:31Speaker 1: looks like a different person. I know. Oh yeah, unrecognizable.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Well it's funny play at like six seven three. Yea, yeah,
- 44:39Speaker 1: So I had am I have a I have a
- 44:42Speaker 1: yearbook cover framed in my office and he was in there,
- 44:45Speaker 1: and it was Brady during a presidential election. Brady was
- 44:48Speaker 1: like president and his linemen were like secret service. And
- 44:51Speaker 1: so I saw the picture and I go, so, yes,
- 44:54Speaker 1: a bachelor. This was probably before you were here. He goes, no,
- 44:57Speaker 1: I'm in the picture. That's me. I'm like, oh my god,
- 45:00Speaker 1: you don't even look you don't even look like that anymore.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Just pictures of him. And he was like a like
- 45:08Speaker 1: a leaner guy. But yeah, he like, now he looks
- 45:10Speaker 1: like the guy on the brawny paper towel ads. Huh yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 1: I mean he looks like a different guy. Yeah, totally.
- 45:17Speaker 1: So watching just you know, solo wide receiver routes quarterbacks
- 45:21Speaker 1: storing to him, I mean, I think Mac looks real accurate.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I think you can see with zappy you know, not
- 45:25Speaker 1: quite the pinpoint accuracy that mac has at this point,
- 45:29Speaker 1: but he's getting getting a full run through. His zappy
- 45:32Speaker 1: is from from Belichick right now. Who Also Bill's got
- 45:35Speaker 1: like a lot of papers with him too. It seems, uh,
- 45:37Speaker 1: it seems like usually he's just got the whistle, but
- 45:39Speaker 1: right now he's got like a like a you know,
- 45:40Speaker 1: a good four or five sheets of paper in his hand.
- 45:43Speaker 1: And that got a lot of attention to yesterday, that
- 45:45Speaker 1: last uh, that last series that we talked about on
- 45:48Speaker 1: the air. Um. You know, Bill was clearly calling the
- 45:52Speaker 1: plays um and I was joking around. He didn't use
- 45:55Speaker 1: the walkie talking Freddy because he probably had chucked it
- 45:57Speaker 1: off the bench or something because he wasn't working right.
- 46:00Speaker 1: But you know, we had seen Matt Patricia with Milwaukee talking.
- 46:03Speaker 1: We saw briefly, I thought Joe Judge with it a
- 46:05Speaker 1: little bit. But at the end yesterday all the coaches
- 46:09Speaker 1: were around the quarterbacks, but it was Bill doing all
- 46:11Speaker 1: the talking. You know. Let's I say it in jest
- 46:15Speaker 1: and I said it before, but you know, like Bill
- 46:17Speaker 1: could probably call the playbook without the cheat sheet, you know,
- 46:21Speaker 1: the plat the laminated sheet that all the ocs have
- 46:24Speaker 1: on the side. He could probably do it without that,
- 46:26Speaker 1: so we wouldn't even know if he does have one,
- 46:29Speaker 1: like actually does I'm actually when he does it. He hasn't,
- 46:32Speaker 1: But I just don't think it's out of the roma
- 46:34Speaker 1: possibility that he's the guy overseeing everything. Yeah, and maybe
- 46:39Speaker 1: someone's calling the plays that he wants called. Yeah, now
- 46:42Speaker 1: I wouldn't. That wouldn't stun me at all. You know,
- 46:44Speaker 1: we always make note of where he is on the
- 46:46Speaker 1: practice field. You know, he can go anywhere he wants,
- 46:49Speaker 1: and he said it before. You know. The cool thing
- 46:50Speaker 1: about the head coaches. He can do whatever you want
- 46:52Speaker 1: in practice and spend time with any group you want.
- 46:55Speaker 1: But he has been with the offense primarily, right, I
- 46:58Speaker 1: don't recall the time that he hasn't been on with
- 47:00Speaker 1: the offense. Yeah, now, I'll say ninety nine point nine.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Just because someone might have something that showed him with
- 47:07Speaker 1: defensive players, I don't remember seeing it. Yeah, in the
- 47:11Speaker 1: in the three plus days now that we've been out here.
- 47:13Speaker 1: You're right, Paul, So I'm sure that you know, at
- 47:15Speaker 1: some point people you'll go far with them. At some
- 47:19Speaker 1: point he'll spend some time with defense just to check
- 47:21Speaker 1: in and see what's going. But he has been with
- 47:24Speaker 1: the offense more than we've ever seen him. I agree
- 47:27Speaker 1: at this point and can't. Oh for sure, Paul, I
- 47:29Speaker 1: would agree with you a lot more of the first
- 47:30Speaker 1: half of the show if I had a mic shout
- 47:33Speaker 1: out producing producer Maddie for running that up to me.
- 47:35Speaker 1: We were we were censoring you. We didn't like what
- 47:39Speaker 1: you had to say. Let's go to Chaz in Maine.
- 47:46Speaker 1: What's up, Chazz? Hey? Hey, um so, so the Jeans
- 47:54Speaker 1: while he's on a couple list right correct? Um So?
- 47:59Speaker 1: I think I think that Mac Jones really needs him
- 48:02Speaker 1: and that you know when he's coming back, because because
- 48:06Speaker 1: with Damian Harrison Stevenson behind the line and having Matt
- 48:10Speaker 1: and having James Roight so Mac and Jump Boston and
- 48:13Speaker 1: I think that could really help. But I don't know
- 48:15Speaker 1: what he's doing. Yeah, it's a great question. Yeah, Yeah,
- 48:19Speaker 1: it's a great question because it's just hard to sort
- 48:22Speaker 1: of know exactly when he's going to be back, if
- 48:26Speaker 1: he's going to be a part of things. And I
- 48:27Speaker 1: do agree with Chaz. I think, um, you know, and
- 48:29Speaker 1: I think Bolden did a really good job with him
- 48:31Speaker 1: last year. But I think that that is an element
- 48:33Speaker 1: that Mac Jones really benefits from having that quick, you know,
- 48:37Speaker 1: experienced sort of safety valve. I think to keep your
- 48:40Speaker 1: eye on time, on time Montgomery, Yeah, I was just
- 48:42Speaker 1: gonna say number fourteen. Yeah. Um, And it sounds like
- 48:45Speaker 1: Chaz may have been here when he was when he called.
- 48:47Speaker 1: I don't know. It's kind of sound like there was
- 48:48Speaker 1: some noise in the background. Um, he's a guy to
- 48:51Speaker 1: keep an eye on. I think that there's sort of
- 48:52Speaker 1: grooming him for that kind of Brandon Bolden role where
- 48:55Speaker 1: he's on all the special teams units. He's a you know,
- 48:58Speaker 1: a pass catcher out of the back field. They can
- 49:01Speaker 1: line him up about wide at times because he has
- 49:03Speaker 1: wide receiver traits to his game as well. So I
- 49:06Speaker 1: think he's a guy that that will be a big
- 49:07Speaker 1: part of the offense. Well, I mean, if you are
- 49:09Speaker 1: here and you're listening to us on your phone, give
- 49:12Speaker 1: us a call or email us and let us up
- 49:14Speaker 1: here with Yeah, let us know where you're sitting and
- 49:16Speaker 1: what kind of time you're having. Wave to us. We'll
- 49:19Speaker 1: wave back. Yeah, we're way up. You can see our
- 49:22Speaker 1: banner in front Patriots unfiltered. We're way up on the
- 49:24Speaker 1: ramp behind the fields. Where's the Douce crew. Dude, I
- 49:28Speaker 1: don't know, I lost him. I assumed that they would
- 49:30Speaker 1: probably try to find a shady spot sooner than later.
- 49:33Speaker 1: So I didn't think he was gonna say shade. Maybe,
- 49:37Speaker 1: you know, maybe we can start the wave with everybody. Yeah,
- 49:41Speaker 1: so let's start on the left side of the bleachers. No,
- 49:43Speaker 1: I'm only yeah, well, I mean the line up here,
- 49:45Speaker 1: I mean it's going two three people deep now too.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I mean it's just uh yeah, this is as full
- 49:50Speaker 1: as I've ever ever seen this place, although maybe one
- 49:52Speaker 1: time I remember they had like all of the of
- 49:54Speaker 1: the of the ramps on the sideber Poll And look
- 49:57Speaker 1: at the road that's coming down. It's full of people. Yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 1: it's like a New York City street right now. It
- 50:02Speaker 1: is just full of people. So good day here, good day.
- 50:07Speaker 1: What would it be like for like Brady's birthday during Yeah,
- 50:10Speaker 1: it would be like this. Yeah, so I talk at
- 50:12Speaker 1: twelve thousand, probably that they had to go. They would
- 50:15Speaker 1: have the goat farm over there. Yeah. Yeah, I don't
- 50:18Speaker 1: care about the go farm. I wanted the cake farm.
- 50:19Speaker 1: I wanted to you know, I always get him a
- 50:21Speaker 1: cake from Montello's. Yeah, Oh it's great. Uh, let's get
- 50:26Speaker 1: back to the phones. We'll go to Ray and Georgia. Hey,
- 50:28Speaker 1: hey Ray Ray. He was going on, hey, hello, yes, yes, sir, Hey,
- 50:35Speaker 1: how y'all doing? Um? Quick question and suo quick comments?
- 50:38Speaker 1: UM question is um you guys probably said this before,
- 50:43Speaker 1: but um, and like you meet on why um do
- 50:47Speaker 1: broadcasting is audio? And why is it video? And while
- 50:52Speaker 1: the fans would the intendees to have cell phones and
- 50:55Speaker 1: cameras and all of that, right, you're you're you're preaching
- 50:58Speaker 1: to the choir. Um, it's just you know, I guess
- 51:03Speaker 1: if if you see the stuff through our lens, I
- 51:06Speaker 1: don't know, maybe it's more official, I guess. And well,
- 51:09Speaker 1: you know, let's let's mean look at it from football's perspective. Okay, yeah,
- 51:13Speaker 1: so we're we often get frustrated a little bit by
- 51:16Speaker 1: working for the team and trying to provide as much
- 51:18Speaker 1: content for you guys as we can. But from football's perspective,
- 51:21Speaker 1: if if on the Patriots dot com platforms we're providing video,
- 51:26Speaker 1: there's probably a pretty good chance you're going to see it. Right.
- 51:28Speaker 1: It's if it's random fan guy having video, Yeah, where
- 51:33Speaker 1: is what is his platform to get four million people
- 51:36Speaker 1: to view it? Right there. Actually are signs all over
- 51:38Speaker 1: the concourse to encouraging or not encouraging fans, but telling
- 51:42Speaker 1: them not to video record practice. I don't know how
- 51:45Speaker 1: they're enforcing. It's almost I mean, don't want to tell people.
- 51:48Speaker 1: It's almost impossible to enforced. I know, we make the
- 51:50Speaker 1: announcement before every practice that they don't want the videos.
- 51:54Speaker 1: But again, if if Paul Parola was just randomly at
- 51:59Speaker 1: practice getting video and I put a video out there,
- 52:04Speaker 1: well I can put it on you know, my Facebook
- 52:07Speaker 1: account or my Twitter account or something and no one's
- 52:09Speaker 1: gonna see it. Yeah, Whereas if we do it here
- 52:12Speaker 1: on Patriots dot com, how many million right, four six?
- 52:17Speaker 1: You know, on the on the various platforms. So that's
- 52:20Speaker 1: where I think football comes at it, like, Okay, we
- 52:22Speaker 1: can't stop everybody that comes here from doing it. We try,
- 52:25Speaker 1: we try to discourage it. But even if they do
- 52:28Speaker 1: get it and you see him randomly on Twitter once
- 52:30Speaker 1: in a while, oh this is the catch that Jonath
- 52:32Speaker 1: Smith made yesterday. Yeah, and you look at the guy
- 52:34Speaker 1: and he has you know, one hundred and eleven followers. Yeah,
- 52:36Speaker 1: and it's not just us. No media is allowed to
- 52:39Speaker 1: film this portion of practice so okay, yeah, so it's
- 52:43Speaker 1: not just us, it's no media is allowed to have
- 52:46Speaker 1: their cameras on at this point. Too quick quick comments
- 52:49Speaker 1: and I'll be gone. Um about all mac Jones, I'm
- 52:53Speaker 1: glad to see him working in the theme at the
- 52:56Speaker 1: reds zone. They need a lot of help in that
- 52:58Speaker 1: area right there. So I'm glad to see that. Um,
- 53:01Speaker 1: there's nothing to run the ball. We're good at running
- 53:03Speaker 1: the ball. We need to work on red zone work
- 53:06Speaker 1: and we need to work on a lot of defense
- 53:08Speaker 1: and we'll be good. We're gonna be We're gonna be
- 53:11Speaker 1: great this year. Anyway. At last comment, Um, that was
- 53:14Speaker 1: very professional of the young lady helping the person with
- 53:18Speaker 1: disabilities on the line. That was very professional with her
- 53:21Speaker 1: helping you know him get accommodations. Absolutely, Alex is a
- 53:27Speaker 1: true professional. I've often said one thing I could say
- 53:30Speaker 1: about Alex is a true professional. Wow. Thanks guys. Yeah,
- 53:34Speaker 1: I mean she's like eleven, but I mean she's she's
- 53:37Speaker 1: a pros pro. Alex is in Georgia. Another Alex and
- 53:42Speaker 1: another person from Georgia. What's up? Alex's big down there? Alex.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Good the morning to you guys. And also the young lady,
- 53:51Speaker 1: so that you have which is this morning? Um, I
- 53:53Speaker 1: have a quick hot hot take this morning. And I
- 53:56Speaker 1: know you guys talked earlier about Josh Hammond. Um. I
- 54:00Speaker 1: think he's a really good, sneaky, uh slot receiver. UM.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I just don't think he's had a lot of opportunities
- 54:07Speaker 1: to prove him still. UM, I've kind of watched him
- 54:10Speaker 1: in college a little bit, so I think he may
- 54:12Speaker 1: have a little potential to uh make some noise on
- 54:15Speaker 1: the making a roster this year. What do you guys think? Okay,
- 54:18Speaker 1: Josh Hammond, I mean it's a stack position group. They
- 54:21Speaker 1: brought in little Jordan Humphrey, who seems like, you know,
- 54:23Speaker 1: might be the second guy on the depth chart in
- 54:26Speaker 1: terms of the slot. I don't know how much of
- 54:27Speaker 1: you train Nixon as a slot receiver in that kind
- 54:30Speaker 1: of group, but I mean we talked about it. It's
- 54:32Speaker 1: it's a it's a deep group. I mean, it's not
- 54:34Speaker 1: top heavy, but I think that they've got five five
- 54:37Speaker 1: guys that that probably locks to make the roster. So
- 54:39Speaker 1: he mean he's got an up kill client for sure.
- 54:41Speaker 1: It might take an injury, especially like INTT Myers Nixon,
- 54:45Speaker 1: Little Jordan's it's really hard to come aboard at this
- 54:48Speaker 1: stage and make it. But I'm gonna use the Fred
- 54:51Speaker 1: Paul you know, do what watch what they do ye theory.
- 54:54Speaker 1: And that's two wide receivers that they've signed, oh, I
- 54:57Speaker 1: don't know, in the last month now month and a
- 54:59Speaker 1: half yea with Humphrey and now Hammond. They're telling you
- 55:03Speaker 1: that they don't think it's as stacked as other people do. Well,
- 55:06Speaker 1: that's what I'm reading from that. Now. Some of it
- 55:09Speaker 1: is just strict numbers you need. You need a lot
- 55:11Speaker 1: of receivers to run because there's no one runs more
- 55:14Speaker 1: than the receivers and defensive backs right at training camp.
- 55:16Speaker 1: So you there's a certain amount of receivers that you
- 55:18Speaker 1: just need to make sure you get through this. But
- 55:21Speaker 1: they have roster spots and they're using him on receivers. Yeah. Um,
- 55:25Speaker 1: and that's a couple that have that have come on board.
- 55:27Speaker 1: So I'm not going to dismiss anybody's chances. I haven't
- 55:30Speaker 1: seen much of Josh Hammond or just sort of getting
- 55:33Speaker 1: a feel for what he does right now, Alex. We'll
- 55:35Speaker 1: we'll keep an eye on him and we'll talk about
- 55:37Speaker 1: him if we if we see him out there with
- 55:38Speaker 1: any of the any of the significant groups. Thanks go ahead, Alice. Um.
- 55:45Speaker 1: I know you guys were talked about the linebacker group
- 55:48Speaker 1: um in the last shows a couple of days ago,
- 55:51Speaker 1: and I know we needed Uh that's something that I
- 55:53Speaker 1: felt like we needed to really address in the draft.
- 55:56Speaker 1: And I know we had like Cam mcbron and media
- 55:58Speaker 1: of the other linebackers to have played it. But there
- 56:01Speaker 1: are so many questions around the linebackers. So you know,
- 56:05Speaker 1: how do you guys feel we are in the area
- 56:07Speaker 1: this year? To me, that's the one of the big
- 56:10Speaker 1: questions going into camp in the season is what's that
- 56:13Speaker 1: linebacking group gonna do this year? Um? I agree. In
- 56:16Speaker 1: the draft, I was all on getting one of those speedy, smaller,
- 56:20Speaker 1: you know, receiver linebackers that can go sideline to sideline.
- 56:24Speaker 1: But you know, they didn't do it. One of them
- 56:27Speaker 1: dropped and we've learned later he was injured. But you know,
- 56:31Speaker 1: we'll see. It's a there's a lot of questions on
- 56:33Speaker 1: those you know guys that they drafted last year and
- 56:36Speaker 1: the year before, and are they gonna step up when
- 56:38Speaker 1: they finally get their time to play. It's huge. I
- 56:42Speaker 1: think defense and linebackers to me. You know, we'll dictate
- 56:49Speaker 1: other than Mac Jones, how this team does this year. Yeah,
- 56:52Speaker 1: I think it's Ray Kua. McMillan's gonna play a big role.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Mac Wilson. Those thanks out of the guys that are
- 56:57Speaker 1: the biggest candidates right now to step into significant roles
- 57:00Speaker 1: on defense, seeing a lot of them. Yep, all right.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Web radio at Patriots dot Com is the way to
- 57:07Speaker 1: email the show, and we're getting a lot of emails
- 57:10Speaker 1: coming in, so I'm gonna get to those, uh in
- 57:12Speaker 1: a minute. But yeah, why don't we just fill in people?
- 57:15Speaker 1: What was just going on? Yeah? Yeah, So they were
- 57:17Speaker 1: running a lot of three man route combinations to either side,
- 57:20Speaker 1: and you know they're down in the red zone again.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Johnny Smith had a nice touchdown. I thought Taekwon Thorne
- 57:25Speaker 1: had a nice touchdown. Otherwise, I thought it would continue
- 57:28Speaker 1: to be kind of a great spotty for the offense. Uh,
- 57:31Speaker 1: guys catching balls out of bounds, throws getting deflected on
- 57:34Speaker 1: the inside, so good. Amoudel throws off target in that
- 57:37Speaker 1: drill too from from both guys, which I haven't really
- 57:40Speaker 1: seen a ton of. Yeah, other than those two catches,
- 57:43Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't really like much of what I
- 57:44Speaker 1: was seeing down and to be clear in case someone
- 57:47Speaker 1: didn't catch it early, both guys were referring to mac
- 57:50Speaker 1: Jones and Zappy, Hoyer's not out here again, right right, Yeah,
- 57:55Speaker 1: So I don't know what his deal is. Hopefully it's
- 57:58Speaker 1: just veteran veteran day. It wouldn't be two days in
- 58:01Speaker 1: a row. And then I don't think he did a
- 58:03Speaker 1: whole lot on on what was day two, Thursday. Yeah,
- 58:08Speaker 1: he had pretty laid back practice. Yeah, so he's dealing
- 58:12Speaker 1: with something. I'm not sure if anybody had anything on
- 58:15Speaker 1: the wire. Did he show up on a wire yesterday?
- 58:18Speaker 1: I didn't know if maybe there was like one of
- 58:20Speaker 1: those non football illnesses that I was gonna say, maybe
- 58:23Speaker 1: he had a personal thing. You know, people get married
- 58:25Speaker 1: a lot in the summer. But him not really practicing
- 58:28Speaker 1: that much when he was here and dressed was made
- 58:32Speaker 1: me think otherwise. Yeah, Travis in West Virginia right saying
- 58:36Speaker 1: at web radio at pitches dot com, these training camp
- 58:39Speaker 1: broadcasts are such a nice gift to us fans. Just
- 58:41Speaker 1: wanted to say thanks, You're welcome. Are the uprights on
- 58:45Speaker 1: the practice field narrower than usual? Or am I just
- 58:47Speaker 1: seeing a distorted camera angle. Do you think that it's
- 58:50Speaker 1: actually effective or they just playing unnecessary mind games with
- 58:54Speaker 1: the kickers. Yeah, there's one of the four that are
- 58:57Speaker 1: on the two main fields, and it's the one on
- 59:00Speaker 1: our left field to the far end zone is about
- 59:03Speaker 1: half the size of a normal right goal posts. And yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 1: I do think it helps the kickers if you get
- 59:08Speaker 1: it through there. You know, if you can dodge a ranch,
- 59:10Speaker 1: you can dodge a ball. If you can get it
- 59:12Speaker 1: through the narrow goal post, you're probably gonna make most
- 59:14Speaker 1: of them than the regular ones. Right, little dodgeball reference
- 59:18Speaker 1: she got one. I watched movies just you fossils talk
- 59:25Speaker 1: about that once from the last century. I really thought
- 59:28Speaker 1: I was a movie buff until this show. Well, I think, honestly,
- 59:31Speaker 1: if you haven't seen jobs, I don't know if you
- 59:33Speaker 1: can say you're a a movie buff. Well. The funny
- 59:35Speaker 1: thing is, I'm sure she could talk about like thirty
- 59:38Speaker 1: movies that were made in the last five years that
- 59:41Speaker 1: I have seen none of. Yeah, yeah, but I mean
- 59:44Speaker 1: a great movie is a great movie. Oh yeah, you know,
- 59:46Speaker 1: like you know, depend regardless of your age, you should
- 59:50Speaker 1: see The Godfather. You should see you know, Doctor Strange Glove,
- 59:55Speaker 1: for example, in my opinion, Talk to Strangeloves one of
- 59:58Speaker 1: my all time favorite movies. U. I also just show
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: him my son Last Night Assault on Precinct thirteen, the
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: old John Carpenter movie. So it's like, you know, you
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: need like that cinema seventies cinema, yeah, to gain a
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: full appreciation. But even that movie, which is like it
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: are just kind of a throwaway action movie, like it
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: actually is a film, Like it's not like today where
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: you get these action movies that are just all explosions
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: and got cgi like, we, uh, what's the Gray Man?
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: You guys see the ads for that on Netflix with
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Ryan Gosling and they seem so serious, and you know,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I was glad of my son. My was like, well,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: you guys want to watch this way? Son was like,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I don't know what looks kind of like a generic
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: one of these new events, and I'm like, thank you.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: That's kind of my criticism with the New Batman is
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: it's just like, oh yeah, blown up action. Everyone. I
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: think the New Batman was really good. Um Crazy Nights
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: writes and really looking forward to seeing jabro Peppers contribute
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: to this defense. Any thoughts on what position he ends
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: up mainly playing throughout the year. Feel like he's a
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: very versatile player. Yeah, I mean, I mean it's that
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: kind of box safety, so he's down near the line.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think he's going to be a
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: back end guy. But you know, Fred talked about wanting
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: a young, fast linebacker. I mean, I think their answer
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: to that is is Safety's I just I just wonder
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: what happens when he comes back, and you know, I
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: just I've seen a lot of positive things out of Bledsoe,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: and I think there's some excitement about him. I just
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: be disappointed if if we go on camp, you know,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Peppers comes back and then all of a sudden, Bledsoews,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: you know, sitting on the sidelines watching it's you know,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: I think it's just it goes to the main points
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: we've kind of been talking about, like let's, you know,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: let these young guys play nothing against you know, some
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: of the older guys on the roster. But I just
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I don't want to lose Bledsoew this year, and you know,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Peppers goes back to the Giants, are gonna goes somewhere
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: else next year after I don't think you're gonna lose
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Bledsoew Mike, I understand total. I mean, no one more
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: than me understands what you're talking about, because that's the
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: stuff that I've been whining about for two years now.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: But I do feel like I've seen Bledsoe involved in
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: enough of the core four special teams to think that
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: he's he's going to be around those spots. And I mean,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: you know, and and let's let's talk too. I don't
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: think many people really, you know, called out Kyle Dugger yesterday,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: but I thought he had a rough day, gave up
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: a few touchdowns and covered so I did. I didn't
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: quiet Yeah you did, you did. But the entire secondary
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: really had a pretty good showing except exception of Dugger. Yeah.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: I thought tight ends were a problem for him yesterday.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Let's see Mark writes, I chose to focus on John
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: who Smith's dumb. You always focus on the positive, you
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: know me, it's always half full of sunshine. Mark is
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: in clear Water of Florida, but he's an Everett born native.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: UM want to say hello. Very excited about the team.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I think Mac is way further ahead than anyone can imagine,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: and that's why Bill is doing what he's doing. With
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: the coaching staff. He may be football smarter than even
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: dare I say, Tommy boys, Sorry, Tom, I still love you.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Great job, Paul way to represent. Yeah, you know, I
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: could say the same. I'm seeing some of these tweets too,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: of people saying like, oh, Mac Jones is legit, you know,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: people kind of pumping his tires after these four days,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: and I think he looks more in command. I really
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: like some of his accuracy in the drills, but you
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: can't deny that they haven't been that sharp in the
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: last few days. In the tight windows. He has not
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: been picking the defense apart in any way. So I
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: couldn't agree more. Mike. It's it's like you, you look
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: at it, and it'd be one thing if you sort
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: of were viewing things differently than everybody else, And that
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: happens sometimes it can't. We kind of we watched Sometimes
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: we watch the same thing and we don't get the
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: same impression, right everybody, it can happen, but everybody's writing
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: the same thing. Everybody made a big deal of the
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: over ten in the red zone and the throws that
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: were off target and the inability to get open, and
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: then the next day the defense sort of controlling things again,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: and yet everybody's writing about how he's surgically picking everything apart.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: It's it's almost like it's written how those two things
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: can't be true at the same time. It's like, that's
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: got to be what the narrative is. And I would say,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: especially Mike during the team periods, the eleven on eleven
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: sometimes in seven on seven, he's gotten a little bit hot. Yep,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: that's not real football. Anthony in Connecticut writes in My
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: question for the crew is do you think Mac feels
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: any pressure from Zappy. I don't expect a competition, but
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: he throws a nice ball, and I don't think Mac
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: had an incredible, albeit rookie season, to be immune to competition.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I just I just don't think Mac is really accustomed
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: to being the entrenched starter. I mean, I think, like, yes,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: he looks like it, but I think his attitude is
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: that of the player over the last eight years or
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: whatever it's been that, you know, since high school hasn't
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: been the starter, has had to earn everything. Shure. It's
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: a little bit weird, and you could probably take his
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: foot off the gas a little bit, but I assume
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: he's still got a similar mindset of how he's approaching
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: this right now of you know, not like, oh, I'm
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: the starter. I think he's embracing the role. But at
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: the same time, I would see Zappy's presence to you know,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: continue to kind of light a fire under him because
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: pretty much every year until this point, he's had to win,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: you know, a quarterback competition to earn the starting job.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: A little seven on seven. Now, I agree with Mike.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I I don't think there's really any competition right this moment.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: But I sort of disagree with some of the people
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: who just sort of blew off the selection of Bailey
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Zappie in the fourth round. I think there's significance to it.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I think it's it's sort of a hedging of a bet.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: You know, if it doesn't work out the way we
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: wanted to, we all have to see what how, you know,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: how it all unfolds. Um. But at the same time,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I just you're right, Mike, I mean, he's he is
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: the guy, and this is probably the first time since
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: high school that that's been the case. He had to
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: win the job at Alabama, barely beat out Bryce Young,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: and then he had to win the job obviously over
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Cam Newton last year. The Matt just had a pass
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: about a twenty yard passed down the middle that Bourne
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: went up high. Should have had it. I think he had.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: He had the body position, had the defender behind him,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: and I think he got both hands on it and
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: didn't come down with it. So that's unborn. Yeah, little touch.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Yeah job by Myers again wide open, and you know
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: this is back to Sean Wade where you know, we
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: thought we saw a couple of past defense yesterday and
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: earlier in camp, we didn't really see a whole lot.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: He was getting a lot of reps, not seeing a
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: lot of plays. He got beat badly by Myers on
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: that one hill. Uh, Carl from Germany, like Charles Davis there,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Paul I was, I was like flashing back to Madden.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: It just sounded like a perfect like color commentary. He
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: got beat badly. Sorry, who's good? Carl in Germany? Um,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I don't know if you know, but I'm part of
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: the broadcast team on the preseason game. Yeah, I mean
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: that's all we saw in my first rodeo and hey, stopping,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna be so self conscious about now. I'll try
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: to get this email in now. Oh sorry, sorry, Fred,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: we were talking about the team, talk about ourselves. We're
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: talking about the team, soundly, you're talking about yourself anyway. Um,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Once to get our take on why Bill seems to
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: be more invested in the offense than another year is
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: My take is that Josh and Tom's departures left a
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: void in detailed teaching. Hence Bill is more active in
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: the offense and teaches more technique and route concepts than before.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I just don't understand the fuss and talking head media
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: about Bill's increased involvement. All right, well here's here. It
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: would be my fuss if they hired O'Brian is the
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: offensive coordinator. Do you think that Bill would be doing
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: the same things that he's doing. Probably not. That's why
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: there's a fuss. But it's because the coaches don't know
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: it that he has to spend more time over here. Yeah.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: John wants to know what are the white things the
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: players are wearing over their helmets? Oh yeah, Q tips.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: It's a good picture yesterday Jason Kelsey rapping bubble wrap
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: on top of it. But what do they call that?
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: The Guardian Guardians Guardardian cap. Yeah, so it's just an
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: extra precaution against head injury, soft layer over the top.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I think the offensive lineman, the defensive lineman, the linebackers
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: and tight ends have been wearing it anybody like kind
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: of along the line of scrimmage, which is odd to me.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Why they wouldn't just be mandated for everybody. Would you
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: say in these drills that the distribution of passes are
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: equal with Zappie and Matt Jones reasonably? So? Yes? Does
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: that surprise you a little bit? Um? I don't. I
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: don't know if I yeah, I don't know. Yeah, No,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: I don't know. But that was definitely one of those
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: throws that Zappy had that was late coming out to
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: the outside, and you never want to be late. Yeah,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: checking an out cut Jack Jones kind of waiting for it.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: But dbs again have those uh have the pads on
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: their hands, so making things a little tougher for them. Yea,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: there he's still in there. J J. Taylor motions out wide,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: low snap throws to the back of the end zone.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: He oh, I think it's a touchdown. That might be
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: a touchdown. Malcolm Butler and coverage and yeah, yeah, and
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: now that's our new guy. Josh Hammond comes up with
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: the high pointed that well, guy was right in his
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: face and he came down with it. So good catch
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: by the new guy. Yeah, Dalton Keene seems to think
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: so too, so yeah, yeah, Paula's uh, Paul's mike is down.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: If anyone has some batteries down. Christian Taylor is on
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: the job. Christians are an overtime today between me and Paul. Yeah,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: you know, he's refilling the batteries. I'm excited because when
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: the paths come on on Monday, we got Christian will
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: be He'll be sit out in the offensive line for us.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: It didn't even miss a breath. My foot just asleep.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: That was like a NASCAR pit crew right there. That
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: was really impressive. Russell and Ark itself. We were going
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: to sign Trey Flowers. Is there a certain time that
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: we could expect that or has that moment passed? I
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: don't think it's passed, but it's we're creeping up. Yeah,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: you'd think you'd want to get at least a couple
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: of weeks of him. Yeah, camp, but yeah, but Camp's
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: just just underway here. Yeah, you got another week or so.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: I know it was a long time ago, Paul, but
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: like when did they sign Brian Cox that year? Um?
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: During that's a good question. I think it was like June. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: I was a little bit later. I think it might
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: have been July, but but I think it was right around.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: If only there was a way we could look something
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: like that up. Yeah, Oh well, let me check that.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: It's too bad because I had the full list of
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: two thousand and one transactions. Uh. I did my project
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: last year, so I almost had it my fingertips there,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Bob and Wilmington, North Carolina. What would you rather see
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: when we play the first game against Buffalo this year,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: a thirteen play drive by Mac and the offense resulting
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: in a touchdown to open the game, or our defense
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: forces two consecutive three and outs on the Bill's first
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: two possessions. Yeah, because I think the offense that's that's
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: kind of part for the course. Even when they lose
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: games like they might come out and have I mean,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: at least traditionally with Josh, they'd have a well scripted
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: opening drive that a lot of times they'd be able
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: to score. But I think it was kind of the
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: when you get down to the nitty grid. Thank you guys,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: I thank you guys. Are right. I think it was
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: about a month after I thought, yeah, past break up
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: there by justin Bethelo as Mac tried to hit Nelson
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Agloor on the comeback round on the outside, you know,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: not that I mean, I don't I don't want to
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: bang the negative drum, but you know, that's just a play.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: The ball's got to get there. And looked like it
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: was kind of behind them and it gave it gave
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the dB an opportunity to break on it and break
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: it up. Just not not quite enough on that one. Yea, Yeah,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: it was late July, definitely, Joe Judge calling these plays,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: by the way, Joe Judge calling the seven on seventh
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: with Thelwaukee talkie or not Yeah, with Diwaukee talkie. Yeah,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Bill standing not too far from him. Maddie p down
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: with the offensive lineman, which is kind of been the
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: case for the most part during seven on sevens. Yep,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Mack highball fade oh off the mark. Yeah, and I
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: gotta tell you I thought he was open. Yeah, I
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: thought I thought Smith beat my beat. Uh did Smith
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: turn too quickly? I mean, did he turn too early
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: because he had I mean that's Jewan Williams. I think
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: isn't it. I don't know which Which guy is that
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: back there with the red gloves? Can you guys tell
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: it's a little out of my range? You're running off
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: to the left. R. Yes, yes, that's there's mccordy. It's
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: uh was it mccordy. Mccordy had red gloves? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: that's okay. Then he beat He beat mccordy on that play.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I thought he was open and the throw was on
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: the wrong side. Yeah, Which is that's the route that
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: mac Jones has not perfected. No, that sort of seam
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: route to the tight end. I'll dump off the Trey Nixon,
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: but even that one, I'm now I'm being really nitpicky,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: but I think that ball could have got there sooner,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: a hair sooner. It was kind of weird. That's a
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: no gain in in a game, But he was gonna
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: get tackled immediately after catching it, and the ball wasn't
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: really over over the line of screamer, right. I think
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: I think that needs to come out just a hair faster.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: You know where the guy's gonna be. Don't wait for
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: him to be there, throw it on he kind of
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: I don't want to say he threw it off platform
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: because that implies something else. But he kind of threw
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: a weird you know, like it was kind of like
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: a quick like almost three quarter just getting it out
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: to him. Yeah, I mean, I'm being a picky. It
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: wasn't complete, but I just think he could have got
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: there faster. There's a steamer and that one. That one's
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: got to get caught. That one I thought he put
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: right in the hands. Yeah, Hunter Henry down the seam
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: wide open in the NFL. Yeah, I mean that was Yeah,
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: I agree with ridiculously wide open. He's got to catch that.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: So here's another football eye observation. Deuce, tell me if
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: you think I'm wrong. I feel like the throws down
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: the seam to the right side are a little bit
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: better than the ones to the left. I think the
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: left ones are the ones that get in trouble. Interesting,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: that's interesting. Another one of those that that was all
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: maybe blown up with the you know, the least bit
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: of film review. See. You know, Paul, this is what
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: night drives me nuts, is because I no one can
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: convince me so far that you know, this has been
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: the best day for the offense. But I know we're
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: gonna get the stats and it's gonna be like, oh, yeah,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: here's fourteen to eighteen for four touchdowns. Why right, Because
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: the passages are, for the most part, they're going to
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: be completed in seven on sevens. And everybody talks about
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: how he's he's ripping the defense and seven on sevens,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: it's kind of the way it's designed to go. I mean,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I do the high school seven on sevens every week
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: in the summer, and you know it's very hard to stop. Yeah. Um,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: let's see, Jake wants to know any chance when the
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: UM joint practices with the Panthers start that the practice
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: will be in the stadium. No, probably not. You got
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: one hundred and eighty guys out there, it won't be
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: in the stadium. Yeah, Like this drill here, this is Yeah,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: there's just so many players. Um, you can't do that
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: all on one field. So we got a little drill. Now,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: the receiver comes, he stops, catches the past, runs through
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: two bags, and then has kind of an open field
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: one on one against the defensive back who's got to
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: break down on him trying to tackle. So you get
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a little bit of a look at how much wiggled
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: these guys have in space. When you say tackle, you
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: mean two hand, two hand touch him that we don't
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: want to get anybody in trouble. Nobody's tack anybody today, Yeah,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: yesterday a little bit quote unquote tackle quote. U Dylan
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: writes in UM, what's your expectations on Christian Wilkerson? I
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: personally loved him and think high of him, but there's
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: so much depth ahead of him. And also what's up
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: thoughts on Mac without the need brace for the second
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: straight day, that's interesting why. I don't know. I don't
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: really put too much into the knee brace kind of stuff,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: but I would bet pretty safely that it will be
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: on Monday when when they come out with the pads.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: So I don't know, maybe he needs it on to
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: get things going a little bit. What about Christian Wilkerson thoughts?
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, it's just I feel like
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: a guy like I always kind of have a flame
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: of hope when a rookie makes the practice squad of like,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: all right, maybe he's going to red shirt on the
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: practice squad to make a jump becoming a year three.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Now with Wilkerson, I mean, they probably have a pretty
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: good sense of who he is and as Paul pointed out,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: they continue to sign slot receivers, so I don't think
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: that they necessarily have him earmarked for for some kind
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: of role. But you know, he's providing depth very well.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Could end up back on the practice squaddition, I don't.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I don't see a lot there. I gotta be honest,
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I don't see a lot there. All right, let's take
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: another break, Matt Morrell. Um, we got more practice coming
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: up right after this. Oh, we're not going to break.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Oh not yet. Okay, where is he? It's a bathroom.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: That's a premature break. Okay, flew off the handle. Yeah,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: I have to I have to actually defend Freddie here.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: That would have been a good time for a break.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: They just blew the horn and like sort of changing positions,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: feeling special special feeling, feeling spidy sense has like kickoff
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: return coming. Yeah, and I think we gotta like at
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: least a good solid hour left. So I I'm just
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: talking about kickoff return. No, I know, but I thought
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: it was a good time for a break. Yeah, I'm
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: back in your guy. I think my bad. I think
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: you picked a perfect time, my bad. Um. Yeah, So
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: right now, as Paul said, they're they're on special teams.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Kick return would be the focus. Uh. One guy that
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I noticed getting some work in this um duce is
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: one of the quasi wedge guys. And I don't think
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: he's in there right now. Is Kevin Harris? You know,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: sixth round pick, rookie running back. Yeah, if he's gonna
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: be on the game day, it goes your mic again, Paul,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: who's deep right now? Number fourteen? Oh no, that's no,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: that wasn't fourteen. You got a time on Coomer you No,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: he's got it now, time oncome, we got the ball? Okay?
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: And wow, he's just taking that one to the house.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: That's fine. Everybody's check on him. Uh. It's always tough
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: to tell when they do the special teams drills. Are
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: they working on the kickoff team or the kickoff return team? Um,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: seems like maybe here we don't want, we don't, we
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: don't need your commentary. Check. Check your connections, Paul, it's
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: everything connected there, bad batteries, all the batteries started. Yeah,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: it's probably the heat. Actually, according to my Apple watch,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: it's seventy nine degrees. That's perfect, which isn't bad. I
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: tell you though, it's about nine. I do have a
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: green light back? So Deuce, this is how you tell
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: how whatever team has the caps on their fake Yeah,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: the other the other team is the focus of the
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: the individual period that returning right now? This is they're
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: working on Nixon. Okay, uh and you know that three man,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: you know, like you can't really do the wedge anymore.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: That's been outlawed. But those I wish it was outlawed
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: when I was in elementary school, Paul, because I got
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: a lot of those did you get lit up in
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: wedgege wedgies? I see? This is trauma is coming back.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Duce has a lot of childhood trauma. You've ever noticed, Like, Hey,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Rubbert Buck, come here, We're gonna cham your underwear between
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: your cheeks. Wow, I'm just kidding. No one ever did
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: that jam your underwear between your cheeks? Have you ever tried, Paul,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: have you ever tried putting with a wedgie? Caddy? Check
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: that he makes me uncomfortable like a routine basis. Hey,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: special teams are going on. Everything's on the table right,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: This is true, Neil and new Brunswick wants to know
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: with MACI and Trench Starter, how much do you think
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: he'll play in the preseason, I think, I mean, I
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: gotta be honest with me. Based on how things look
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: right now, I think I think they need some some work.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: So I'd expect to see a great question that this
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: is a great question. I have no idea. Yeah, I
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: think practices though those would you would you say it's
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: going to be more than a typical Tom Brady? Yes, yeah, yes, okay,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: like Tom Brady has gone preseasons without playing at all. Right,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: I think there's a lot to figure out. I think
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: that he'll play maybe maybe into the second quarter, at
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: least in the first two games. I mean, it's hard
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: to say. I think I don't know how much work
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: they feel like he needs. Jessica writes in She says,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I went to training camp on Thursday and followed Alex's
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: advice slash pro tip of bringing a chair and sitting
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: on the grass hill. Sadly didn't get any shade and
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: got a bad burn, but was very much worth it.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Did you have to put the sun block on your tomb? Mike,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Mike and Tamara walked by my sister and when they
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: were going to talk to the crowd before the players
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: came out, I was too scared to say anything. We
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: got autographs from Lawrence Guy and Jeremiah Farms, who everyone
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: around us thought was Yanny could juice. He was very
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: polite and gave us his cleats as two young to
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: two young fans next to us. She's wow giving out
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: shoes now, I think he smell. Well, you could use
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: them for you know, plant potting plants there. Yeah, you go,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Well you should have said potting plants grow some herbs
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: out of the cleat. Yeah, that doesn't smell good getting
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: your fresh parsley for dinner out of a shoe. Sure.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: I got a couple of shout outs from some people
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: in the crowd that today, So that was that was nice.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: But please say hi, I'm not that intimidating it, I'm friendly. Well, Mike,
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: you know, I do have it when you've been around
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: as long as I have and it's hard to move
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: around that those kinds of areas justice when you're when
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: you're as a professional warm up person, what's your go
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: to thing to get the crowd going? Maybe? How are
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: we doing guys? Yeah? Just that's it. Yeah, I gotta
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: work on it a little bit. I don't feel like
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: I was bringing the energy that I was actually a
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: little nervous with my family in the stands. I didn't
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: didn't have my A game. I don't think my form
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: my heype, but you didn't need it with today's seem
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: like the crowd bought their own hype with with how
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: many people are going to put their hands in the AA.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: But I mean in Paul's not a lot of not
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: a lot of big, big, exciting plays going on right now,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: at least so far down either. Would you say this
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: has been sort of the lowest key of the four practice.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know. But Deuce used to
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: do the warm up for the old Arcineo Hall show.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: If you could see me, I'm doing the arm pump
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: right in the dog pound. Yeah, I got the dog
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: pound going. I'm only kidding Bennett and Seattle, Um, I
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: hope you guys aren't getting two burned from working these
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: training kids. Now, we got a nice little ten tent out.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: I want to kiss him. I mean, yes, we're very
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: comfy here. Amazing. Yeah, anyway, I've seen some articles on
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: how Parker has been dominating training camp. I know the
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: definition of domination can differ from person to person, but
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: if it's true, that's concerning for the wide receiver core
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: in my opinion, since he would be a number two
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: on many other teams. If he's really that much better
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: than the rest of the options of the team, we
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: could be looking at another power run team this year.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: That's they've been running over and over and over again
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: the plays that he's best at, contested red zone catches.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't see he's dominated. But he had
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: a first day. He had a few the first day,
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: and I think one the second day. He's had a
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: few defended. But yeah, you know, that's a promising but
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: you haven't seen like the conventional middle of the field
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: kind of offense, so it's it's hard to say they're
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: playing right into his strengths. They're throwing them a ton
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: of balls. You see it continue today with throwing a
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: cover guys in the back corner of the end zone
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: and then sometimes they're making a catch. Sometimes they're getting
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: up by the time they're going out of bounce with you.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: Let's take a break now, Matt. When we come back,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: I think the team's going to eleven on eleven, that's
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: pretty soon, so we'll get into that. Just after this,

- 1:26:58Speaker 1: We've got a number of people that have been holding on,
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: so let's get to them. Uh. DC is in Vegas.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: What's up DC? DC? All? Well, I guess he lost
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: his chips. Um, let's see. Brendan is from Atlanta. What's
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: up Brendan Brendon? No, No, he's not there either. All right,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: we'll go to Hunter in Missouri. Hey Hunter, Ope, Oh
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: there he is. What's up Hunter? Good? I just wanted
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: to give a compliment and a question as well. So
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: my compliment is I read a lot of observations for
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: training camp amongst all the teams in the league, and
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: nobody compares and compare some to the quality that you
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: guys put out. Well, thank you, thank you. And then
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: my question is, how have the young dude defensive lineman
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: been the same Roberts out of Northwest MASTERI. I think
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: i'm Bill Marrie transition to offensive line him had he been,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: It's kind of early for that, you know. Yeah, I
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: have trouble hearing him. I think he was asking about
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Sam Roberts. Uh. Yeah, I would wait till the paths
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: come on. I'm excited to see him with pads on though, big,
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: big guy. We've talked about him a little bit yesterday.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: See how he holds up, you know, making a big
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: jump in competition level. But I think there's some opportunity.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: There's a lot of you know, guys have been around
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: a little bit on the defensive line, not a lot
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: of young guys, So I think he could have a
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: chance next week will be the big Yeah. Yeah, we'll
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: get our first real information on the big guys offensive
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: defensive line next week because Monday they're gonna put on
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: the pads. Yeah. And I had a hard time hearing
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: him too, but I thought he mentioned Bill Murray at
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: the end. And yeah, we haven't talked a ton about it,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: but he is clearly making a transition. We think we
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: mentioned it the first day. He's an offensive lineman. Now
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: he's wearing number sixty two in white to Cinderella story. Really,
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he's seen if he can make a transition.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Not all that different from what Steven Neil did. And
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: Steven Neil got here as a wrestler in college. He
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: played some defensive line, didn't work out, They switched him,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: put him on the practice squad on the offensive line,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: and it paid dividends. So my guess is Murray's been
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: around on the practice squad for a couple of years.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: They must really like him. They must really like, you know,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: the personality, the study habits, the work ethic and all that,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: and they're trying to figure out if there's a way
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: he can physically contribute to the team in some way.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: Andy writes in maybe we can name bon Jovie offensive coordinator,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: so Paul can have some peace of mind. Just kidding Paul,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: But my point is one, we've had a season without
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: a name DC and it was maybe my favorite defense
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: of the late dynasty with Flores. The last time we
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: lost Josh, it led to many to maybe my favorite
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: offense under Billy Oh. Granted with Brady and some elite
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: offensive skill players. Two, it's pretty much standard procedure around
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: here to have at least one year without a name
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: coordinator when one leaves. So this isn't a new thing
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: at all. Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna say this again. Okay,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: for some reason people can't seem to figure this out.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: I don't care who is named the coordinator. I just
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: want there to be one. In twenty eighteen, Brian Flores
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: was the defensive coordinator. He ran the defense, He called
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: the plays. He was a defensive coach who called the plays.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: He was the defensive coordinator. They don't have that, well,
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: you don't think that they will have someone calling the
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: plays on both offensive defense. They don't have an offensive
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: guy doing it. They have a defensive guy doing it. Well,
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: so you're saying they'll have somebody but Flores. No, they
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: don't have an offensive guy. He might be good. I
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: don't know. They don't have an offensive guy doing it. Okay,
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: if he's good, then I will no longer be concerned
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: about it. Okay. Um, we think like Brian Flores. If
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: he had coached like the wide receivers the previous five
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: years and then they decided that year to say we're
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: not going to name a defensive coordinate, but Brian Flores
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: is going to be the guy running the defense, I
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: wouldn't have felt great about it heading into the season.
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: We still have the same head coach for over twenty
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: two years, so I'm not worried about continuity. Patricia and
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: Judge have been coordinated for Bill before and they know
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: how he wants things done and at risk of making
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: Paul's eyes roll out of his head, their work as
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: head coaches does probably help them develop leadership skills, and
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: during that time they had to take some responsibility for
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: the offense, not just your special teams. Not to mention
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: returners like Mac and other on the offensive staff, I
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: haven't bothered to memorize. I consider it a non story
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: because I think there is more experience than we're giving
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: credit for. And I honestly do not think the guy
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: to call the play is quite as special as people
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: are making it out to be. As Fred mentions, sometimes
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: the head coach is at different levels of games, scripting
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: or directing the flow. I feel like a big stink
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: is made when one team is sucking and then the
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: head coach, Mike McCarthy takes over the play calling duties
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: and it gets a little better for a couple of weeks.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: Like they're scapegoating the play calling rather than acknowledging their
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: team isn't that good. Like our defense hasn't been that
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: good for the last three years, mostly because we didn't
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: have the players and the scheme Bill seems to be
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: throwing out there might be outdated. Uh So that's uh
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: at Sandy's take. Appreciate the email. I'm sorry, I'll just
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: I'll get on board. Everything is great. But Paul, I mean,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: everyone's a title to their opinion. But if give me
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: an opinion, he said, don't just tell me. The guy's
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: been here twenty two years. I think he'll be everything
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: will be okay. He just and that's that's the opinion,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: that's the coach has been here for twenty two years
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: and they won six thinks it's mostly obviously sorry. He
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: obviously did it wrong all of those years where he
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: did it completely differently than he's doing it this year.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: I wish that we had done it like this now.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Instead of six titles, we'd have twelve if he had
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: done it like this, evidently, because this is the way
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: to do it. They don't have offensive guys. They have
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: defensive guys trying to learn offense. I don't think that's ideal.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: Will it work? I don't know. Maybe it will. Football
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: Paul football guys doing it. It's a it's all football,
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: I mean, football guys with bad track records. I just
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: think even somebody like me who hold on that hold
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: on wait a minute, wait wait wait, wait, wait a minute.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: I mean, yes, they had bad track records their first
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: time around as head coaches, but bad track records as
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: coaches overall. I think really one in particular I think
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: was they had good really spot they had good enough
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: track records where two teams offered them head coaching jobs. Yeah,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: they must have done something right, okay, because they were
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: here under Belichick. That's why they got the job offers. Yeah,
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I I've heard that before, like they
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: they're failed coaches. I disagree with that wholeheartedly. They were.
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: They were failed head coaches the first time around, like
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: Bill Belichick was, like Pete Carroll was. But I think
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: they're good coaches and I think they know football, you know,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: and I think that you know. Again, if we just
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: say that, then there's no discussion. You're right, no, but
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: I could You might be right too. They could be failed.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: And I'm not telling you the gonna fail. I'm telling
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: you I'm concerned about it. Sure, And now I'm being
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: told that it's stupid to be concerned about it. Well,
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: I didn't, never thought and he never used the word stupid. No,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: he doesn't understand why people are thinks it's a non story.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: It's a huge story for most people that don't just
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: blindly accept everything will be okay. All right, we got
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: seven on seven going right? Yeah, right now? Right, it's
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: eleven eleven. I didn't see the line, but it's a
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: lot of a lot of running in screens right now.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Not so much it's the passing game, but working on
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: the run game. Yeah, I had I had five eleven
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: on eleven reps um down here in the red zone
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: for mac. I mean they did put it in the
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: end zone three times, but two of them were short
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: incomplete fade cornered to Montgomery as well. So I don't
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: I don't know, guys, I've just I just haven't really
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: been worried. Are you worried? I don't want to like,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: I don't know why. But I don't know why you worry.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: There's there's plenty, there's plenty of experience. You gotta ride
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: the just been here. I don't know what you're worried about.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Alex is here, he's on the second level ramp. Oh
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: and he he says to him, Max seems a little
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: off in his throws. Seems it's a little late getting
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: passes off from what I see. I think, Um, that's
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: accurate today. I think that out of the four days,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: he appears to be a little off today. Yeah, I
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: mentioned I did just a little late. We had one
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: that you talked about being late. Yeah, just who said
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: one day talked about I think on the outside that
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: was wide. Um. I thought the seam route to Jonah Smith,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: I thought he had him and he kind of put
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: it on the wrong side, you know, just kind of
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: fighting through some stuff today. Yeah maybe, um, and you
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: mentioned earlier Paul a little lower energy overall today. You
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: know it's your fourth day. Um, they're probably sick of
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: not being in pads too, yep, So you know tomorrow
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: will be a day off, um, and you know, get
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: a little rejuvenated for Monday when they put those pads on.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: But yeah, maybe a little lower energy today. And uh,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: just one minor little addition. Person know why is David
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Andrews I believe has taken some of these eleven on
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: eleven reps today. I don't think he did that yesterday
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: his first day off of pup, so he's They're probably
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: feeling pretty good about his health at this point. And
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: this is just sort of going against the scout. Look.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: You know, some of the defensive players at pads. This
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: is not like to Fred's point, the intensity is not
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: ramping up right now, although I'm sure that you know
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: will still get the stats from it. Yeah, these are
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: a lot of zone runs and screen passes. And I
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: was just gonna say too though, you know, even somebody
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: who you know has a hoodie data base and all that,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: Bill we trust kind of guy, Like, how can you
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: not say that? Like Bill Belichick calling plays working with
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: your quarterback directly, Like that's significant to me, Like he's
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: never done that on either side of the ball since
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: he's been here. So like, you know, I get what
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: people are kind of like, we don't need to bang
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: the drum over and over and over again because the
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: offense is going to be like it's up to Mack
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: and them ultimately to execute. But it's it's a significant thing,
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: and it is like it's another reason why to be
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: the whole the whole season is based on this, But
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: it is a significant and I haven't written it in
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: the bogs the last two days. If they don't do well,
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: it will be the whole season will be about this.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I mean, oh yeah, yeah, no, if they have a
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: spotty offense, it's going to be the easy, low hanging
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: food as opposed to you know, we just had mentioned
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: we don't think Mac has been in sharp today, right, right? Okay,
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: does that have anything to do with the way the
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: plays are getting called, But that's what's going to happen, right,
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: that's gonna get blamed on Maddie p and Joe Judge.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: Whereas I think Mac has been off today, right, And
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: it's just like My frustration today is that again a
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: lot of these just tossing it up to the contested catches,
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: and the stuff that they are completing is usually because
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: somebody bumped in on the crossers and it's wide open
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: and they just dump it off to the wide open guy.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: There's no like that's a great point, window tight window
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: thrown and he just rocketed in. I mean, you know,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: there have been a handful of those over the last
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: few days. But I just I'm not gonna lie. I'm
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: not I'm not really impressed with their successful plays down
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: around the goal line have come on pick place where
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: they've they've gotten Hunter Henry JOHNO Smith all alone and
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: you know, a quick sprint out late in the down.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: I'm also a little worried about that too. Have you
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: seen I've seen too many sprintouts that I think that
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: they're gonna do a lot of sprintouts this year. And
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: I don't think that's in his skill set. I don't
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: think that's a good I don't like it. Yep, I
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: don't like it. Scott and Westford Mass says, I think
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: Paul is right to be concerned. I think GM Bill
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: has lost his touch and has for a number of
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: years coach Bill will be tested this year with the offense.
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: Part of the fun is we will see love the show.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: Thanks for the insight. Yeah, I mean, of course we
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: will see. And you want to, you know, put the
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: disclaimer that this is unpadded practice number four of a long,
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: long season that's gonna last months. But you want to
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: evaluate what's going on within the moment. And you know,
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: the fact is the first day felt you know, wow,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: it looks like they got something here on offense in
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: the last you know, this is the third day in
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: a row now where it just feels kind of flat,
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: not all that impressive, not a lot of big energy plays.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: It's like we said just now, we'll continue with eleven eleven,
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: but all the both offense and defense are on the
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: sideline now, so we'll probably get more into situational with
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: substitutions kind of you know, get into that like flow
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: of a game type of situation. And that's what I'm
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: hoping for, Fred, because that'll show us, you know, how
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: they kind of go through the middle of the field,
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: how do they bounce that. I mean, it seems like
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: they're going to be down on the red zone in
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: the opposite end. But yeah, they're staying I think they're
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: staying down the the red zone area. But this is
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: this will be the actual eleven on eleven for this
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: for this period as opposed. So that was just kind
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: of scout run scout work and whatnot. Now they might
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: work on some of those same kind of plays. But yeah,
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: it's uh, well, no, this is gonna be Is this
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: gonna be zappy? Got zappy? Yeah? Oh well I am,
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: because I already told you I'm gonna be writing a
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: little bit about Zaddie. Yeah. I think, like I keep
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: saying that, I think it's a tremendous opportunity for him,
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: you know, to get all of this attention that he's
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: gotten the last three days. Um, that's what's just funny
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: about it. Paul's we talked about rookies getting behind the
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: eight ball by missing, and sometimes the things just work
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: out and one particular player just gets an opportunity because
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: somebody gets hurt or you know, he might have come
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: in not really expecting to get a lot of reps
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, this guy's getting a
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: ton of action and he's you know, just getting a
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: crash course in it. And I mean that's just that's
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: gotta be a good thing for him. So while the
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: other the offense was huddled up, Mac was off to
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: the side keeping his arm loose. Now he's he's back
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: watching the play and that balls on the ground. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: that was that was that. It was hard to tell
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: if that was over his head or if he kind
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: of stumbled coming out of his break on a quick slant. Yeah,
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: either way, he wouldn't he wouldn't expecting it. No, it wasn't.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: He wasn't gonna be ready for it. And that was
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: your boy, bull first time we called his name. Still
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: waiting to call Ronnie Perkins. Oh boy, Wow, that seemed
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: like an unnecessary shot by Deuce right there. That's not
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: what I'm looking for, Fred Zapp, he's in the shot
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: guy Kevin, Kevin Harris and his bild. That's a little
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: bit of a throw, but it was caught. Yeah, kind
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: of threw it thrown away too. Who was that eighty three? Again?
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: That's a little little Jordan little. He's not he's not
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: so little, you know. He looks like a tight end.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Now he's sick. He's six four. Yeah, yeah, I keep
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: getting mixed up with like my old boy Matt Lacosse.
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: Oh god, big Jordan Humphreys like seven feet tall. Uh,
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: all right, Zappy continuing to work here, but it seems
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: like mostly like backups here the offense at least. Yeah, oh,
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: there's Ronnie Perkins defense. I was just gonna say the
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: here's your boy Perkins too. Oh whoa, And there's a sack.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: We got a protection issue there up the middle and
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: Zappy just got killed unblocked defender camera right up the middle.
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: Is that sob I think it was. That's what some
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: mack in there. Let's get our mac in there, all right.
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: Now we got bill Belts. So now the offensive linemen
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: appeared to be wearing like some red gloves on their hands,
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: some little can you Yeah, those look like oven mits.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, they're a little more oven middy than the
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: dB ones that seem more like padded almost like those
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: base running gloves that yeah, baseball players wear. I might
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: have to steal that, Freddy. Protect your fingers, now, what's
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: that for, to like prevent them from holding to me?
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: Yeah exactly, yeah, no, no grabbing, and like when you
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: got to take something out of the oven, you don't
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: want to bring another pass in the ground. Zappy tried
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: to go wide and that was no shot for the receiver.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: We're going to riverside it. We're coming back, all right.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: It seems like we're getting ready fair for some Mack time.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: I'd just love to see some down and distance work
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: through the middle of the field, just to get it.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: I think that will come when they wasn't going to
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: happen this week. I know, I'm hoping against that's what
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: happened this week. No, okay, so we didn't steer your rooms.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: You're right a lot of Paul, you're right today. That's
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: the way that's I tell Beth all the time. If
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: you just lived by that mantra. This does look like,
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: but hey, this is I'm not here. You go. You're
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: outside the thirty at the we're at the like thirty four.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: So so let's see. And they do have the yard
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: parkers out there. Yeah so maybe. So you got a
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: little bit right here, a little taste of some situational work.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: And mac Jones is back in with the starters. Um, dudes,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: can you give me a center here? Is it back
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: to Fern's just see a six? Yeah? Okay, okay, deep
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: down the sideline chance that had no chance. Two men
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: in coverage. Ball sales out of bounds. That was Butler
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: out there with this group too, So that's kind of noteworthy, right, Yeah,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: he's been it's been mostly Mitchell, right, he's been coming.
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna harp on this. Okay, that ball has to
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: get there sooner. By the time that ball got there,
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: the safety came over. There was no shot. Now, the
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: ball sailed out of bounds anyway, but if there was
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: any shot on that being completed, the ball, he had
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: to throw that sooner. So now you have Butler and
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: Mitchell outside with Mills playing in the slot. So that's
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: a little bit of a different look than we've seen,
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: isn't it, Mike, yep, it is. And you gotta phillips
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: and bat on the back end all right, back back
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: to pass it little dump off to a c. Now,
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: let's just see if they stay at the same spot.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: We resetting the clock here, what's going on? Little waggle
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: was at a waggle Paul dragged dragged the defender across
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: the field. That dragged that that defender. Yeah, so I
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: think you're looking a lot at well, they've kind of
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: swapped last last app it seemed like the defense was
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: kind of in a passing down package and it seems
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: like a little bit more of a rundown one. But
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: Judean has his red sleeves on as he always does.
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: I'm sure he's soaking wet by now. Yeah, he's got
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: cool game is practice Jersey over that sweatshirt. Man a
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: little screen. Look, yeah, defense sniffed out right forty eight
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: to right that Damien Harris. Yeah, well wow, it's good
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: to see him out here. Yeah, good to see you.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: I got I got your tone on that one. I
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: picked up on your tone. So we had a little
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: dump up there, and that definitely appears that mack Wilson
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: deuce is sort of that lone linebacker or when they're
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: in the sub packages. Yep, not sure. Not sure how
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: I feel about that. Well, if he runs fast, you
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: probably feel okay. Yeah, I'm just thinking like him running
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: and Josh Allen running. Um boy, Matt had to bring
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: it down. He pumped, he pumped right. Didn't like it.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: I will say he's he's uh. I mean, I know
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: it's practice and they can't touch him, but he I
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: think he's moving better in the pocket. Yeah, I think
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: that might be one of those things that he worked
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: on a little bit foot speed. Yeah, I don't know
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: necessarily about speed, but I think he's been you know,
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: shifty in the pocket, like you know, his footwork sliding
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: around buying time. Hard to say, because you know, if
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: they could hit him, it might just have been a
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: sack before he was able to do any of that.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: It's a certain confidence knowing that nobody's actually going to
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: tackle your fall into knee. That that too. All right,
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: Let's see what we got here sat there about the Stevens.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: He just he just looks so indecisive. Yeah nothing, Yeah, nothing, Yeah,
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: not good. Not good. Now. I wonder, well, I'm working
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: on some of these players if there's situations yeah right,
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: we have no idea what's you know, being called down
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: in the field, but that that was not a fluid play, No,
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: And I thought like he just he kind of looks
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: a little I don't want to say jittery, but indecisive. Yeah,
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: you know, with his with what he's seeing. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: it just doesn't seem like he's I mean, you know,
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: the majority of the past as you've seen have been
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: to guys that are covered, but he puts it up
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: and sometimes they came. I hate to say this, but
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: I have to this. When Brady was here. This looks
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: like the guy that would come in after Brady. That's
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: exactly what it looks like, Fred, you know, disjointed, well,
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: just yeah, indecisive. Yeah, the ball. Some plays look fine
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: and some plays look like that one. The ball doesn't
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: come out as quick as when Brady's in there. And
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: I hate to say that. I know it's but you
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: know he's our starter. Now go again. Now that one
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: came out quickly and drawn probably should have been caught. Yeah,
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: and that was Parker. Looked like Parker got inside Butler
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: on that. I don't know what I mean. They're all
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: high five in Butler. Maybe he got a hand in it.
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: He did. I had the buy Knox on that one.
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: It looked like Parker was gonna catch it and then
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: and Butler slapped it away. You played it with the
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: hand pad on. So a nice, nice play by Malcolm Butler.
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: But again, that I think is an example of the
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: Parker experience where sometimes he makes him sometimes he had
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: two hands on it what I could see he did.
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: So the pass was good. Let's give Matt credit on
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: that one. I think Butler's had a nice day. Yeah,
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: he has most I've noticed. I've noticed Malcolm Butler. I
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: noticed him when John er Smith leapt up over him
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: to pull it down. I'm not touched on the other day,
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: but yeah, probably trying to redeem himself from that. Yeah.
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: So we're about down at the five. Now get rid
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: of it. Yeah once again, that one, I think Henry
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: and and would it would have eaten him. Yeah, that
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: was a completed pass, but not on time. One for
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: one touchdown on that one, and unfortunately it was about
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: ten seconds into I think Henry Anderson clearly just like
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: kind of sat in his stance and let him break
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: containment and then he started chasing them. I mean, this
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: is a lot what we saw last year and at
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: this point in camp, where you know, the ball wasn't
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: out of the quarterback's hand on time. Getting off platform, Paul, Yeah,
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: And I don't think they want to be off platform.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: I don't think that's his I don't think that's in
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: his skill set. On the platform. Stay stay on the platform,
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: all right, So we're back now, we're back out. It
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: looks like the twos are in. You gotta do the
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: same kind of thing from about thirty en Now Max.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: You know, Max's not slapping his thighs or anything, but
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: he's got to be frustrating. I mean, it's been frustrating
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: to watch. Of course, I'm excited to check Twitter and
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: find out how great he's been today. Wow, just the
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: shots are just flying, so we do zap. You gotta
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: take the snappy here. H Well, it's just the coverage
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: has been just winning more often than fall down the
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: right sideline and there here's why you have to try
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: to figure out, like is their secondary? You're gonna be
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: a little underrated, right. I thought Marcus Jones would have
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: a comment yesterday that sort of had us all like,
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: whoa did? He was it yesterday the day before you know,
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: what do you have out of your cornerback room? What
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: do you what do you think you have in the
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: quarterback room? And I think it was the ability to dominate,
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: ready to tell, ready to dominate. I was right there
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: when he said it, and I said, hmmm, you might
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: want that one back. Uh. I just I feel like
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: I'm struggling though to really like, you know, we talk
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: about when the offense is playing bad, do you feel
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: good about the defense? Like I just I feel like
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: it's just been a lot of throws into into coverage
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: and so it's like, how do you like they've just
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: gotten hip? Here's another one, like, yeah, that might have
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: been a push off on the offense. Christian Wilkerson caught.
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: It looked like he was tied up with I believe
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: Jack Jones. Maybe Jack Jones fell just as the ball arrived. So,
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: I mean, a nice throw by Zappy, But it's just
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: nothing's easy. There's no like easy plays and they throw
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: into coverage, So like, do you give the DB's credit
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: because the ball's coming their way and they're in coverage.
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: It's not like I feel like, oh, they're making great
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: breaks on the ball and they're breaking things up left
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: them right, Like I don't know. I just I feel
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: like it's tough to get a real read other than
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: just feeling like the offense hasn't really really been that
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: sharp this day. Yeah, as much as I'd love to say, oh,
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: I think the defense is looking great, Like, I just
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: I think that they they've gotten hip to what they're
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: doing and now it's like, oh another end zone faith
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: And part of that is true too, Mike. I think
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: the defense it's hard human nature when you kind of
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: know what's coming. Uh, And this is a screen that
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: actually looked like it had some potential. There was there
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: was no one really there who was that? That was
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: J J J. Taylor that that that the timing of
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: that was was well well executed. I thought on the screen,
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I think they would have picked up some positive yards
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: on that. But I agree with you, Mike. I think
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: sometimes the defense sort of understands what they're doing and
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: it's hard, you know, when you're lining up and you
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: kind of know what fade's coming, or you know what
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: the offenses. It's practice, you know, talking about practice, Yeah,
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: but you don't see a lot of guys you know,
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: making a great cut and then you know being open, no,
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: you know, and then like the ball being right there
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: as they they break free, it's like it's either a
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: contested fade or it's kind of like, oh there was
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: a pick or somebody fell and now guy's wide open
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: and or the pressure got there and he rolled out
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: and then late in the play he found somebody while
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: he was on the move, you know, and you wonder
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: like is this a manipulation by the coaching staff. Is
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: this we're doing things to make it as tough as
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: possible for the offense, you know, I don't know. Well,
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: it's sure, I mean, it sure looks hard on him.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: Right now, you get some field goal work coming up here,
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: Nick Folk lining up from fourteen ish fourteen plus ten,
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: so twenty four. I'm gonna go thirty four because I'm
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: gonna add twenty and we're not actually, we're not actually
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: gonna kick it. Didn't even kick it. Russell and Arkansas
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: wants to know, is any way possibly get behind enemy
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: lines during the joint practices like the pregame show. So
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: so he wants to us to get a writer from
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: any other team. Oh wet, like behind enemy lines like
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: the pregame show. We're gonna try to do what we're
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: doing now. We can probably effort that for the joint practices.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, we'll definitely invite somebody from the Panthers.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: Get a Carolina Panther personal How come you guys didn't
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: signed Cam Newton, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold. Let's uh see
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: what they got against the Patriots. Second, it might be
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: hard to do that for somebody because they need to
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: watch practice. Yeah, well we do with that much prob Yeah,
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: I know, but do a hit. Come on, come on
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: our show, do a hit. Let's see jet Griff writes
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: in please rank the current Patriots quarterbacks by arm strength?
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: How much does this matter? Does it matter more for
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: Patriots quarterback than a Saints quarterback given the weather and
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: indoor play? And where would Brady and Bledsoe rank in
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: arm strength compared to with the currents? I think they'd
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: be one two. But I mean I'd kind of be like, fine, fine, fine,
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: for the three of them, I don't. I mean, I
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: don't think any of them have plus crazy arm strength.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: I think they're all kind of in the games same
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: kind of Okay, fine, I would agree. I think they're
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: all sort of average arm strength, all three of them.
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: And I do think it matters more in the Northeast, yeah,
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: than it would in a Dome yep. And I think
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: you saw that a little bit last year late in
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: the year. I think it affected them. And that's why
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: I think you spent time this offseason to throw in
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: as many different conditions as he could. I'll tell you
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: Mac Jones, I'm talking. I'll tell you know. You know
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: who has a cannon at third base is Bobby dahlback
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: he's got an arm man, he can rocket it. They
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: moved him from first to third. Well, he's been playing
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: third a lot. He's actually a third baseman. Where do
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: they have devers playing? I haven't watched the Red they's hurt.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: I think he's been hurting. He stop playing. Yeah, I
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: watched pretty much every game there the one, but no
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: dalback can fire it from third base. Important, he's got
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: a cannon hot corner right, Paul um Romalis writes in
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: depending on how the cornerback play is in the beginning
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: of the year, do you see Jabrill Pepper's moving two
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: cornerback not outside? I don't. I mean, I think he's
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: a I mean he'll be in coverage, but he's an interior.
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: I mean, I could maybe see him on a slot
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: receiver or maybe you know, tight ends. But I think
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: he's an around the line of scrimmage kind of guy.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: And I think that blurs the line between strong safety
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: and off the ball inside linebacker. And it's common for
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: corners to move to safety, but the other way around
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: doesn't happen a lot where you're here in a jam. Yeah, yeah, right,
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: But when when you're a safety and you become a cornerback.
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: That doesn't happen a lot. It's kind of like I
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: would have guards moving a tackle, and you know, you
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: get tackles that can't quite hack it on the outside
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: moving to guard. But it's rare you're going to see
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: a guard yeah and pop out. Yeah. And you might
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: see guys come out of college like that, a tackle
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: come out and they'll he'll play guard initially and then
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: he'll move out to tackle once he's got some more experience. Yeah.
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: But yeah, I agree with you, Mike. You don't see
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: that transition a lot. Alan in Texas says, I'm hopeful
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: that Mac will develop into a very good quarterback. My
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: concern is his arm strength. By all accounts, he's an
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: accurate passer. The NFL, you need to be able to
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: zip the ball into tight windows. The quarterbacks that can
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: do that in the NFL are the ones that can
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: carry teams to the winds and can make for great
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: seasons and championships. I'm afraid that his lack of arm
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: strength will be as Achilles heel. Is there a way
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: to improve this? Mac has shown that he's willing to
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: work hard, but if he can't improve in this area,
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: he will not get to the level that some are
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: convinced he is already destined for. Is there a road
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: to get him there? Yeah, I think that's something that
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: can be improved, Um, you know slightly. I don't think
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: it's going to ever be a strength of his game.
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: But where you're going to see if he can get
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: by is like the Drew Brees thing. Can he make
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: his throws, you know, consistently with anticipation and then uses
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: his incredible act Because I do think he's really accurate,
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: and I will say, I mean have him bagging on them,
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: you know, all practice, but I think his accuracy has
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: looked pretty good at least in the drills. Uh, you know,
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: the offense eleven or eleven. We're gonna get another taste
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: of it here. So yeah, we'll see this. This should
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: be competitive. I'd like to see them finish strong here
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: and maybe put up some of their better plays. But yeah,
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: they're going from the ten now or coming towards us
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: play whistle dead. Let's get to a stick outline. We
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: got Steve who's been holding on in New York. What's up, Steve? Hey, Steve,
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: Steve there is Steve? Are you there? Hey? Yes, I'm here. Okay,
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: So in terms of the coaching stuff, um, you know
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: Bill I obviously as a coach, as someone who's gonna
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: you know, train and teach the players that I think
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: there's nobody better. But honestly, in the last couple of years,
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: he's lost the ability to plan for the future, you know.
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: And I think this is what the angst is coming
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: from in terms of a fan, where you're looking at
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: things like, you know what Brady was leaving, Where was
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: your backup? Obviously wasn't Cam Newton. You can't tell me
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: that you're gonna say, oh, I was waiting for Cam
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: Newton to be you know available. You knew Josh McDaniels
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: was going to leave UM since he was about to
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: take the coach job. Where was the backup plan for that?
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: I think those are the areas that really he needs
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: to be held account before UM people don't want to
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: hold him account, you know. I don't want to say it,
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: but it needs to be said. He's not doing a
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: good job in those areas. I mean, that's it. No,
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: but that's a good point that the point about McDaniels
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: leaving UM even more so than Brady almost where was
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator in waiting. You know, that's a good point,
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: you know, because in the past, whether or not they
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: gave these guys the coordinator role, it was always somebody
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: ready to assume note that responsibility when someone left, like
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: a Flores. Yeah, you're right, You're right, it's it's it's
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: a fair point, Steve, it really is. Well, but did
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: you feel like, I mean, I understand like there's a
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: line between firing him and saying he hasn't done a
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: good enough job. I mean, I don't think it's that
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: crazy that people haven't been saying he hasn't done a
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: good enough job the last few years. Like, I don't
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: think that everyone's just whistling past the graveyard. Yeah. And
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: if you say that, Mike, people do they're like, oh,
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: you want to get rid? Who do you want? Right?
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: I want I don't want another coach. I have the
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: coach I want. I just want him to be better.
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: And you know, you lost the greatest quarterback of all time.
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: That's that's that's pretty disruptive. Yeah, that's pretty disruptive. Yeah.
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: And there are things that that you know, we're gonna
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: wait analyze, like the one that he just pointed out, Like, yeah,
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: you almost lost what was that fifteen that he was
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: gonna that Josh Mtay was originally going to go. You
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: knew it was a matter of time. Yeah, so you
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: knew one of these years he was gonna go. And
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: and then the solution was to take two guys that
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: worked almost exclusively outside of offense. You know, either special
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: teams was going to get fired from the Giant, and
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: he wanted him as a quarterbacks coach. I mean, you know,
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: come on, yeah, right that you couldn't plan for that
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: right now, You're it's a fair point, and thanks for
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: bringing it up, Steve. You know where was that guy
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: in waiting? Um, he's always had it, you know, in
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: rickgardand you know, maybe the guy didn't always get the
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: title in his first year, but he always had someone
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: in the wings ready to do the job. And this
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: time carried into personnel too. I mean, you know some
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: of the positions where that's a nice play by Terrence
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: Mitch john Smith and tight coverage almost made a one
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: handed grab but couldn't bring it in. But again, exact
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: same yeah, exact same thing. Now, the previous play was
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: a similar kind of route that Jakobe Myers made and
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: he was able to get between Mitchell and Wade and
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: he made the catch. It was a beautiful catch. But
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: to Mike's point, you know, I'd like to see them
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: be able to make some of these plays without right
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: and necessitating And shouldn't that corner, shouldn't that ball be high?
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: Shouldn't he want his receiver to go up high for that?
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: I don't know, because the ball was down by his
- 2:01:37Speaker 1: hip or lower. So you know we're being really it
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: just feel like down on the offense right now on
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: Hoday with every play, maybe we should just say how
- 2:01:47Speaker 1: good the defense is going? Well, that's what I said.
- 2:01:49Speaker 1: I wonder if you know, if you can look at
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: this with the secondary is playing better than maybe we
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: all thought it would be. But I think we tend
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: to look at the execution and offense and right, no one,
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: no one's open, Let's put it that way. So whoever
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: gets the blame or credit for that, no one's really open.
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: As Zapp he's in there, now, where's what's uh Max demeanor?
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: As he he just fist bumped jains ferrets, So I
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: guess he's doing all right? Okay, Zappy on the run
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: and can't can throws it out of the back of
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: the end zone. There's another one though that doesn't get
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: off on time yeast a little bit. But I would
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: say that's the thing that I would say defensively is
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: consistently these plays the quarterback is having to get knocked
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: off the spot. No, I'm sure extending his training camp
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: all time Patriots training camp sack record to one hundred
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: and sixteen would be sacks we got out. There comes
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: another one, zappy again too long. Now he's running. No
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: one open, nobody opened. Yeah, I just again, I wish
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: I could like start pumping up the defense. I'm gonna
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: have to wait till next week. See them doing this
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: stuff when it starts to get in the middle of
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: the field. Well, let's see when they when the Panthers
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: come to town. But you know, let's see if they
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: can do that against them. Yeah, but I mean, nobody's open.
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: Just doesn't look like they're working on a wide range
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: of things. It looks like end zone fade again, goes
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: that be Yeah, nothing steps up and runs, tucks it
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: and runs. I think he had Montgomery there for a secon.
- 2:03:50Speaker 1: I don't know what the pressure was like, but I
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: was watching the routes and Um, when's the next Bill
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: press conference? M I would yes, I would say Monday,
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: but it's not listed on the schedule yet. He has
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: to speak three times a week. I mean, not that
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: he's gonna give us any insight, but somebody's got to
- 2:04:08Speaker 1: ask the question. It seems like the offense is not
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: in sync. Yeah, I got a long way to go.
- 2:04:16Speaker 1: Good good luck, good luck asking that one. Are you
- 2:04:20Speaker 1: indeed running it? Bill, because it seems like it's not
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: in sync? All right? Max back In, I was told
- 2:04:28Speaker 1: not to worry Myers aggaloor two tight end set Damian
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: Harris in the backfield about from the seven or eight
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: yard line and pressure. Nope, nope, Mac, he's pointing, he's directing,
- 2:04:44Speaker 1: he's left and he and he just ran into hid
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: He just ran into what would have been an absolute destruction.
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: You're gonna get injured. He spun right into Josh Guchay.
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: That would have not been pretty. I mean, you're in
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: the red zone, okay, You've got ten yards to work
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: with plus the end zone. You gotta get the ball
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: out quick. But this is why I like they're holding
- 2:05:08Speaker 1: the ball so long and trying to extend the play.
- 2:05:10Speaker 1: I'm wondering if if that's the purpose of this, well,
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: if it's like let's say it's fourth and goal from
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: the fifteen, Like, you can't just throw it away, right,
- 2:05:18Speaker 1: you know, you gotta try to extend the play and
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: do something I don't. I mean, now you're grasping, but
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: that's a good I'm grasping, especially when the downmarker on
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: the side says says two, So like, I don't know.
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: Sometimes they bark out the situation and we don't hear it.
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: These plays have been going from you know, I mean,
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: we're between the twelve and the fourteen fifteen yard line.
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: He's at the five now or the four actually, yeah,
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: this one's at the four. Yeah, and it just doesn't
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: seem to be any like really anything going on. He's
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: got them there, there's one, there's one and one the
- 2:05:50Speaker 1: one guy Douggery. He found Henry in the back left
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: hand side of the end zone. Yeah, I mean that
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: you know, credit where credits do? I mean? That was
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: I think that was a pretty good play. Yeah, that
- 2:06:06Speaker 1: one was looked like a play like he got on
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: his back foot banging the ball was out, Shiver was open. Yeah,
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: going again, run it again. It is it is, though,
- 2:06:20Speaker 1: not good seeing Dugger continuing to being coverage on these
- 2:06:23Speaker 1: touchdowns as we got Parker, Parker and Montgomery out wide.
- 2:06:30Speaker 1: Great again at the four roll the pocket Nope, Mac
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: directing traffic and Paris Dugger. That's a pictures for Dugger. Yeah,
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: well there you go. Probably a nice little play for him.
- 2:06:46Speaker 1: That's got to feel good after the last couple of days. Wow,
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: and the offense offense still running right, offense doing push ups,
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: Mac not extending the arms, not a true push up.
- 2:06:57Speaker 1: Got to throw that out there and arm definitely and
- 2:07:03Speaker 1: Andy hart t rex push up. Yeah that was a
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: zap zappy I'm sorry. Yeah, yeah, what that coach is doing,
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: it's like he's got his hips on the ground. Yeah,
- 2:07:14Speaker 1: he's doing like a plank. Who was that intended for?
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: I think Parker? I think I thought it was too,
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: but I wasn't sure. Yeah, yeah, that was another extended
- 2:07:24Speaker 1: play where Max pointing guys to go this way like
- 2:07:26Speaker 1: in the backyard, and then the offense doing push ups.
- 2:07:29Speaker 1: Tells me it might have been one of those gotta
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: have it kind of things. Yeah. Yeah, not good though,
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: gotta have it stuff today. You know. Mac looked to
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: his left and then quickly back to the right through
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: the ball and dugger just read it all the way.
- 2:07:44Speaker 1: It looks like we're extended out too. Closer to two
- 2:07:47Speaker 1: hours now too with the uh the practices. Yeah, this
- 2:07:50Speaker 1: has been the I think the longest they've gone so far. Yeah,
- 2:07:53Speaker 1: I heard it, Tiven thirty Paul, they're going, okay, so
- 2:07:57Speaker 1: that would be it would be the two true two
- 2:07:59Speaker 1: hour practice, right, Mac again, gonna give it another go
- 2:08:04Speaker 1: tag team Mac again. And No, that's a nice play
- 2:08:11Speaker 1: by Marcus Jones. That's good recovery because I thought he
- 2:08:14Speaker 1: was initially beaten. Now would that be a flag because no,
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: I think he might have made contact. Yeah, hard to tell.
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: I think he kind of ran over the receiver, so
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: that could have been a flag. I thought he hit
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: the ball before he hit the receiver. But you might
- 2:08:29Speaker 1: be right. It's a fitting end for the offense today, though.
- 2:08:32Speaker 1: I think a pick six and then in a pass
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: breakup by a rookie. Uh. You know that that that's
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: kind of an emblematic of what they did today. So
- 2:08:40Speaker 1: that's the practice. The players are heading over to the
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: hills to do their running. Uh. And that's it for
- 2:08:45Speaker 1: our live shows. Um, for this training camp. But when
- 2:08:49Speaker 1: the joints come, we'll probably when we'll probably if you
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: got him, well, we'll be doing uh something when the
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: Panthers come to town, so we'll be back live during
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: that and hopefully I'm working on being able to do
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: the same thing when we go to Vegas, you know,
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: with the joints with the Raiders. But in the meantime,
