- 2:40First up, he's a candidate for US Senate on the Democratic tick.
- 2:44And that's right, it's another Democrat side from her. Massy CEO Don Blankenship
- 2:49joins us now in the part of Mars Store studio. Mister Blankenship, good
- 2:51morning, welcome to the show. Well, thank you glad to be here,
- 2:53Thank you for being here. When you say the name Don Blankenship,
- 2:58all sorts of things come to mine, but probably Don the least of those
- 3:01as the word Democrat. So what's up with that? Well, I think
- 3:05the Democrats need help. I mean, I was on the other side for
- 3:08a long time, and the Republicans are pretty well taken over West Virginia,
- 3:12and the crazies have taken over the Democratic Party, you know, nationally in
- 3:15d C and so forth. I don't think West Virginians are typical San Francisco
- 3:21or DC Democrats, and I want to hopefully they'll send me to d C
- 3:25to send the message that they're not for the things that the national party represents.
- 3:30I mean, you and I are from an area of don where almost
- 3:34every almost everybody was a Democrat, regardless of whether you're conservative liberal. Hell
- 3:38okay, let me back that up. There won't a whole lot of liberals
- 3:39in Logan or Mingo County, but I mean there we were all pretty much
- 3:46Democrats at one point, pretty much had to be if you want to vote
- 3:47for anybody in that part of the world. At one time, Yeah,
- 3:51it seems like I was the only Republican in Mingo County for a long time,
- 3:53and I think this year, I don't know if this is exactly true,
- 3:57but somebody told me there wasn't a single Democrat on the Mingo County ballot
- 4:00for county and city offices. That's amazing. I mean, it really is.
- 4:04It's just it's a sea change, and it shows. It's encouraging to
- 4:09me because it shows that major changes can happen, and we certainly need major
- 4:13changes in the country. And that's one of the reasons I'm running us to
- 4:15bring attention to the fact that we're not as opposed to one another as the
- 4:20media tells us we are. You know, West Virginians are not San Francisco
- 4:27Democrats. They are more like moderate Republicans in terms of the rest of the
- 4:30country. So if you are elected Senate, you talked about kind of,
- 4:34you know, bringing folks together. What are some of the major things you
- 4:39would like to accomplish for the state of West Virginia if you are elected to
- 4:42the Senate down well, I know that we are all very concerned about losing
- 4:45our democracy, so it naturally makes sense that we need a fair election law.
- 4:48The fact that you can defame people, which happened to me the last
- 4:51time I ran. Or the fact that the media can, particularly the national
- 4:57media. You know, you've got the liberal networks and the and the conservative
- 5:00network and they beat their candidates up or they you know, make them look
- 5:04good or bad. We've got to do something about that. We've got to
- 5:06do something about who gets to vote. You know, a lot of illegals
- 5:10do get to vote. But unless we make the democracy a true democracy and
- 5:15treated as such, it can't last like it is. You're and now you've
- 5:18been on the show several times, the first time I've actually had you here
- 5:21in person. But but you feel don that you were unfairly characterized in a
- 5:28lot of different ways. Talk about that well. Over the years, it's
- 5:30been interesting, you know, since I had the battles with the mineworkers in
- 5:34nineteen eighty five, which was basically caused by the fact that the western coal
- 5:40was growing so fast it was driving the price down and the companies had either
- 5:44be tough to go out of business. All the other companies like Island Creek
- 5:46and Piston and Westmoreland and the big names from that era in the coal industry
- 5:51went out of business, and massive decided not to, but we made a
- 5:56big difference in West Virginia. We were you know, I had ten thousand
- 5:59people near our peak there, and we created a lot of jobs and made
- 6:02a big difference in the communities in southern West Virginia. But you know,
- 6:06along the way, the media, the hard left was very, very negative
- 6:11toward me and created an atmosphere where it was very difficult, and that stuck
- 6:15with me. I guess it sort of put me in a template for the
- 6:18last thirty years or so. And you referenced the last time you ran for
- 6:24office being as you said, defamed in what way? Well, it was
- 6:29interesting. You know, Mitch McConnell was very much opposed to my candidacy because
- 6:33he knew I was very much opposed to our reliance on China. I was
- 6:36beginning to talk very openly about China, about his personal connections to China,
- 6:42about his family sitting on the boards of companies in China, including the Shipbuilding
- 6:46Company of China, which had as a mission statement having a better navy than
- 6:49an American navy. So when I began to say those things, he chose
- 6:54to be very negative toward me, and including he and President Trump, calling
- 6:59Fox News getting them to call me a convicted felon on the day and the
- 7:01day of the election, which before that I was like eighteen points up in
- 7:06the polls. But when you've got when you run as Republican, then you've
- 7:10got Fox. I guess about seven or eight different reporters repeating that untruth.
- 7:16It's just not possible to win. And you are not a convicted felon,
- 7:20not a convicted fella. And actually what I was here. It sounds terrible
- 7:25when they say they convicted you of a conspiracy to commit mine's safety violations,
- 7:30But the fact is they convicted me for not stopping the coal miners from telling
- 7:34each other that the inspectors had arrived. And you know I couldn't have kept
- 7:39them from telling each other that I had arrived, let alone that the government
- 7:43arrived. It's just a normal practice in the coal fields. But they call
- 7:46that committing or conspiring to commit mine safety violations, which was never the case.
- 7:54Talking with Don Blanketship again, who is a candidate for US Senate.
- 7:58I had to ask you Don about the TV ads of questioned them like,
- 8:01exactly what do you mean with some of the phrasing you said in one I
- 8:05didn't fall out of the bed and hang myself or something to that effect.
- 8:07What exactly do you mean by that? What's somewhat connected to what you just
- 8:11ask? You know, I don't believe Epstein fell out of the bed and
- 8:13hung himself. I know that I didn't conspire to commit mind safety violations.
- 8:18I know that a lot of stuff that's going on in the courts today are
- 8:22outrageous, And it's just making the point that you can't really believe what the
- 8:26media says about you, so asking people to make their own decision based on
- 8:31what they know, what they see and people that know me personally, rather
- 8:35than depending on what they might hear in the media. The next ten days
- 8:39or so, in the Democratic primary, you're going to be facing Wheeling mayor
- 8:43Glenn Elliott. What makes you a better candidate than Glenn Elliott? A different
- 8:46experience? I mean, whether you look at my personal life of gone from
- 8:50poor to doing quite well, or the struggles I've had with every element of
- 8:56the government, whether it be the EPA or the struggle I've had with the
- 9:00mind workers, the struggles I've had with the business community of my on board,
- 9:03it's a you know, basically I'm a. I think outside the box
- 9:07a lot, and I think the country needs a lot of thinking outside the
- 9:09box. And I think, although I don't know, mister Elliott, that
- 9:13if you send anyone to d C as a Democrat other than me, you're
- 9:20just going to get someone that does what Schumer tells them to do. Now,
- 9:24the winner of that of the race will go on, in all likelihood
- 9:28to face Governor Jim Justice in the fall. Your thoughts on Governor Justice,
- 9:31Well, my thought basically is that is going back to what you said earlier,
- 9:35He's as good as a governor as we've had in recent years. But
- 9:39we can do we can do better, We can always do better. My
- 9:43focus is not on Jim per se, but it's on saving the country and
- 9:48making a difference in the country. I think people should vote for me to
- 9:52see Jim and I debate. I think that'll be a lot of fun,
- 9:54uh and you know it'll be interesting. I've got a dog that's bigger his.
- 10:00I think my ideas are bigger than his. So I hope that we
- 10:03can get together on the stage and show people what it's really all about.
- 10:07I'm going to presume don that you haven't seen a whole lot of support from
- 10:11the State Democratic Party in your chair Mister Pushkin, who's the State Democratic Party
- 10:16chair and delegates on the show frequently, and the party issued a press release
- 10:22basically distance himselves from you. So probably not going to be getting a lot
- 10:26of support from the State Democratic Party. Yeah, and I would hope not,
- 10:30because I wouldn't want to be associated with the policies that they have.
- 10:33You know, there's a difference between being a member of a party and being
- 10:37a leader in the party. And I want to be a leader in the
- 10:41party and lead it back to sanity and getting it away from the transgender stuff
- 10:46and getting it away from you know, being in favor of anti Israel protests
- 10:50and so forth. I want to get back to the West Virginia Democratic Party
- 10:54looking like West Virginians rather than looking like DC or San Francisco. What is
- 11:00it that keeps Don blanket Ship going? I mean, you know, you've
- 11:03been in the public eye for a lot of years, well before the you
- 11:05know, you got involved in politics. Is as you said, your story
- 11:09is a fascinating story. I mean for somebody that came from what you did
- 11:13to lead the biggest energy company in the nation, Well, what is it
- 11:18after all this time. That keeps you going because at at your position,
- 11:22it'd be easy for you to say, you know what, I'm done,
- 11:24I'm going to the house. What is it keeps don Blankenship going? Probably
- 11:28the fact that the people I disagree with don't want me to keep going.
- 11:31So it's I'm motivated by the fact that, you know, people who have
- 11:35the wrong ideas and do the wrong things. You know, It's just it's
- 11:41a motivation to be able to make a difference. I think I made a
- 11:43difference in labor relations. I made a difference in the legislature in West Virginia.
- 11:48I made a difference in people's lives. They don't pay food tax anymore.
- 11:52And you know, we have right to work, and the state has
- 11:54a surplus. We're not getting ready to borrow five and a half billion dollars
- 12:00in debt the state to fund the teacher's pension fund. So I've made a
- 12:03huge difference. Unfortunately, when you're making a difference, that means you're sort
- 12:09of into mine hearty, and you're out there by yourself. Otherwise you're just
- 12:11going along with the crowd. And since I don't go along with the crowd,
- 12:16I've been successful at making a difference, and therefore I want to continue
- 12:18to do that. But Dave Allen showing five, any live is presented apart

- 12:31within about a week testing all renovations from old asbstos and lead as. The
- 12:35law of is a Pinnacle corp ding net for Pinnacle Consultants because what you don't
- 12:39know can hurt you. I'm going to close with this, Don, why
- 12:41should someone vote for Don Blankenship for yous? Sn't it? Because if we
- 12:46don't vote for people like Long Blankship, we're not going to have a country.
- 12:50The country can't survive as divided as it is. It can't survive spending
- 12:54trellion dollars a year more than it takes in. It can't survive trying to
- 12:58police the world. People can't survive with all this nonsense about men competing in
- 13:03women's sports and so forth. So if we don't fix those things, the
- 13:07country you know not certainly not going to be the superpower. And what we've
- 13:13done is we've done everything that George Washington told us not to do. We're
- 13:16entangled with China. We don't have separation of powers. We're not passing moral
- 13:20laws. We're passing imoral laws so that people should vote for me because I
- 13:26will make a difference. I've proven that. So if you think you need
- 13:30a difference, that I'm the guy to vote for Don Blankenship, Democratic Canada
- 13:33for US Senate. I appreciate you being here. It's always a pleasure to

- 16:22Bar, we have talked to him in a couple of moments, says you
- 16:25may imagine when you have Don Blanketship on the show. I got some texts
- 16:27to get to. We'll get to those before we get to our next guests.
- 16:32Text says I hope Don wins the Democrat primary. Says a texture Texas
- 16:37said loved the line my dog is bigger than his dog. Yeah, he
- 16:40says he's got a dog bigger than baby dog and if he faces Jim Justice,
- 16:45I don't want to say it's a dog fact because I don't want the
- 16:45people from Peta, you know, out here protesting the studio. But interesting
- 16:51line for mister Blankship. Texas dave not to quote Hank Hill, but I'll
- 16:55be danged. Don Blanketship actually sounded like a decent cat today. Texays,
- 17:03too bad. Don Blankenship is pretty much a colbart and villain in an old
- 17:06Western. He has said some things I agree with, says a text and
- 17:11a win for Don Blankenship Today, Tex says, great interview with Don Blankenship.
- 17:17Thank you so much, my Bjeger candidate for the office of Mayor Dunbar.
- 17:21He joins us now, mister Yeager, good morning, welcome to the
- 17:22show. Good morning, thanks for having me. Tough to follow up Don
- 17:25Blankenship, is that you get a chance to hang out with Donna and then
- 17:27we get to meet him in a great the interesting guy. Yes, he's
- 17:32an interesting guy. Give us a lowdown. I'm Bob Yeger. Give us
- 17:34your biome. Well born and raised Dunbar, lived there my whole life.
- 17:38Graduated from Dunbar High School, went to the University of Charleston and got a
- 17:41degree in business administration. From there, I went to the South Charleston Police
- 17:45Department, where I worked for twenty six and a half years before retiring and
- 17:49moving on to a job at the State. Raised my family there, still
- 17:53have two kids at home, still raising them there, and just love the
- 17:56city. What is it about Dunbar that because you know, everybody's got pride
- 18:03in their community, and I talk about this on the show, But what
- 18:06is it that makes people love Dunbar so much? What the positives? I
- 18:10guess you would say, well, we're a small community. A lot of
- 18:14people know people. Everybody tries to know their neighbors and whatnot and look out
- 18:18for them. But that's changed a little bit and people are trying to get
- 18:22back to that and that's one of the reasons I'm here. Okay, and
- 18:25let's talk about some of the negatives. What are some of the negatives?
- 18:26Donbar Well, right now, as far as the citizens go, we got
- 18:33a lot of people walking the streets, as a lot of cities do,
- 18:34a lot of crime, a lot of homeless and what I call thieves.
- 18:40There's a difference between homeless and thieves. But we got a lot of those
- 18:42issues. And right now we got a lot of problems with the city and
- 18:47a lot of those as people know this week, they're back in the news
- 18:49again another lawsuit. It's costing the city a lot of money and a set
- 18:55of citizens are just fed up with it. Talk about the issues with the
- 18:59polease this department as best you can. I mean, you're somebody that's on
- 19:02city council and you've seen this, your take on the whole thing. Well,
- 19:07first of all, as my position on city council, I get very
- 19:10little information the administration is not very forthcoming with what's going on with these situations.
- 19:15I find out about most of this stuff just like you do when I
- 19:18read it in the paper or hear it on the news. So that that's
- 19:21one issue where the city's not very transparent when it comes to these issues.
- 19:26But the other issue is these lawsuits. When this administration took office, me
- 19:30included on council, there were four or five lawsuits already pending, and I
- 19:34sat down and talked with the mayor and I was like, hey, what
- 19:37are we going to do about this? And he didn't really have a plan,
- 19:41And here we are three and a half years later. Now I think
- 19:44we're up to maybe twelve lawsuits that I'm aware of, and it just keeps
- 19:48mounting. And before I filed to run, I went back to the mayor
- 19:52and still no plan, and citizens are just not they're not going to accept
- 19:57that. What are the numbers now? Because I actually saw you in an
- 20:02interview on television this morning when you talked about you or the report, I'm
- 20:07not sure which one, but it was stated about the number of officers that
- 20:11are that are on suspension. I know of at least one or two right
- 20:17two right now? And then there's one that either I think that was under
- 20:19investigation that quit or resigned. Is that? Is that right? I believe
- 20:23it or not. I only know what you've heard on the news. Okay,
- 20:26I've gotten from the same place you did. From what I understand,
- 20:30we are slotted for sixteen. We may be down to twelve, and like
- 20:33you say, one has recently resigned under investigation into or currently on suspension.
- 20:37But again I got that from the same news you did. Sorry enough to
- 20:41get police officers people to want to do that job anyway, Absolutely, Yeah,
- 20:45this isn't making it any easier to fill those spots. So we talk
- 20:48about this again. We're talking with Bob Yegor, who's the candidate for mayor
- 20:52of Dunbar. We talk about these things with the issues with the police department,
- 20:55but other than that, what led to your decision to want to become
- 20:59mayor, to come off counsel and become mayor. Well, to be flat
- 21:02honest with you, I wasn't going to do this yet. I was going
- 21:04to wait four more years. I've got a really good job where I'm at.
- 21:07I was going to stay there four more years. But I was getting
- 21:11a lot of pressure. So That's when, like I said, I went
- 21:12and talked to the marriage just recently before I filed and sat down and said,
- 21:15what you know, what's the plan? And I was told, well,
- 21:19there's been there haven't been any criminal charges filed. There's some policy violations
- 21:23with no criminal charges. I'm like that that doesn't matter, that don't make
- 21:27any sense. And then when the friday before the filing date, when the
- 21:32federal judge issued that default order against the city for failing to respond to a
- 21:36lawsuit, that was the moment that well, it's now's the time. I
- 21:41can't put this off four more years. We might not have a city in
- 21:44four more years. Our insurance is going to go through the roof if we're
- 21:47going to be insurable at all, and if we lose our insurance, we
- 21:49lose so many city services, police, fire, and we can't do that.
- 21:55City may not survive four more years. Let's talk about the business climate
- 21:59of Dunbar. If elected, what do you plan to do to try to
- 22:03get more businesses, because that's the bottom line for any city. You want
- 22:06more businesses in panels, bingo, taxes, and providing services for the residents
- 22:10and people that visit to town. What do you plan to do to attract
- 22:12businesses into town or to keep businesses that are already there to keep them in
- 22:17town. Well, the first thing we have to do is we've got to
- 22:18change our image back. The people that live there, we know what a
- 22:22great place it is. But the outside world, with all the negative publicity
- 22:26going on right now, if you google Dunbar, West Virginia, you're not
- 22:29going to see what a great place it is to live. You're going to
- 22:30see these lawsuits. And that's the first thing we got to change. We
- 22:33got to change that image. And then I believe that the future of Dumbar
- 22:37is going to is very dependent upon how we take advantage of the opportunities the
- 22:41Shawnee Sports Complex is bringing. That thing is literally bringing tens of thousands of
- 22:45people through our town, and right now we're not taking advantage of that.
- 22:49So we need to be able to attrack those businesses in that can profit off
- 22:55of what's going on at Shawnee, and I truly believe that's where our future
- 22:59lies. I've heard a lot of talk people all over the valley, not
- 23:02just in Dunbar, talking about the need for hotels. Yes, and that's
- 23:06a need I'm presuming in Dunbar as well. Hotels, restaurants. We just
- 23:08the one we have there now that has just been recently remodeled, just opened
- 23:12recently, so that's a plus. But yeah, we need, we need
- 23:15hotels, we need we need service service type industry. What if you're out,
- 23:21if elected or even as a council person, if you're out trying to
- 23:23sell Dunbar to people, either a potential business or residents to move there,
- 23:30people to say there, what do you use as a selling point for Dunbar.
- 23:33Well, it's not my quote, it came years ago. But we
- 23:36are truly the hub of the valley. You can get to anywhere from Dunbar
- 23:40in just a few minutes. We're, you know, less than ten minutes
- 23:42from Charleston south Ridge, you know, thirty minutes from Barbersville, Huntington.
- 23:47It's a good, good central location in the valley. As you've been out
- 23:52campaigning, how's the campaign? God? What what do you hear from people?
- 23:56People are upset, they're not happy with the way things are going,
- 24:00they're ready for a change, they're they're looking for something new. What do
- 24:03it specifically? Do they come to you and say, hey, if you're
- 24:06a mayor, I want you to do this. Roads, street repair,
- 24:11people running up and down their alleys at all hours of the day and night.
- 24:15They don't like to You pull into a convenience store and you got to
- 24:18wait before you can go inside because the people hanging out on the parking lots.
- 24:22They don't feel safe. They don't feel comfortable getting out of their cars
- 24:26and walking into store. Sometimes they don't feel comfortable walking their dogs at night
- 24:30because of the people running the streets. Those are the things I'm hearing a
- 24:33lot of. What experiences have you learned as a city council person that you
- 24:41think will bode well for you, Because sometimes this happens in certain towns and
- 24:45somebody has been on council and they think, well, I could. I'm
- 24:48not saying this is you, but don't say well, I think I could
- 24:49be a mayor and I could I could do a better job because I've learned
- 24:53this. You know, A B and C. Are there things that you've
- 24:56learned as a city council whether you think would make you an effect to mayor
- 25:00if you're elected. Yeah, And to even go back further before city council,
- 25:03A lot of things I learned from working for twenty six and a half
- 25:07years in South Charleston. One of the things Dumbar is lacking right now is
- 25:10customer service. The city government is not focused on providing the service to the
- 25:15citizens. The public service is just another way of saying community service or customer
- 25:21service, and the customer the citizens are our customers and our job. Our
- 25:26employees' jobs are to take care of those citizens, and our jobs as city
- 25:30government is to take care of those employees. So we have to provide them
- 25:33with the good wages and good equipment so they can go out there and they
- 25:36can do the best job possible for the citizens. I don't think what I've
- 25:38learned on council is I don't think the citizens are getting what they deserve in
- 25:42Dumbar. But Dave Allen showing five any Life is brought to you apart by

- 26:42we called it the final thirty Why should someone vote for bobbye or for mayor
- 26:45of Dunbar. Well, I've got the leadership skills needed to make the hard
- 26:51decisions that are going to be in the best interest of the citizens in the
- 26:53city. And secondly, they know what they've got in four ready for a
- 27:00change. And you can't keep sending the same people back in there and expecting
- 27:03something different. Nothing's going to change if we keep sending the same people back

- 31:00May the fourth and the Star Wars people. I guess that means something.
- 31:03I hate to say. This gen Next guy, not a Star Wars guy,
- 31:08but anyway, the May fourth things are big across the country. I
- 31:12know a lot of towns and businesses are doing a lot of conjunction with May
- 31:15the Fourth Be with You. One of those is Nitro. Tim tim or
- 31:19Not is the owner of Nitro, Antique mal and Third four Comics, and
- 31:22he's helping them to plan a big event in Nitro. Tim, good morning,
- 31:26welcome to the show. Good morning, thank you for being here.
- 31:29May the Fourth Be with You, Star Wars Day, comic com sorts.
- 31:33You got all kinds of things going on. Man, we do. And
- 31:36you know what's crazy is you know it's not just Nitro. Hurricane is also
- 31:38doing a May fourth Star Wars event too, So it's like the perfect alignment
- 31:42of the stars come together on a maypour showing up on a Saturday. Everyone's
- 31:48really been able to jump in and take part of this. At Nitro,
- 31:51we're going to do something fun. We're going to Mini Comic Con. I've
- 31:55got like twenty comic and toy menders. They're going to come in sell their
- 31:59Star Wars, know the pop culture related items. We're gonna have a Lego
- 32:02building contest with a Star Wars theme. We're gonna have a cosplayers show up,
- 32:08and we're doing a Funko pop building contest as well. All Right,
- 32:12I gotta ask you because Joe Stevens was hooking me up my buddy, and
- 32:15Nitro was hooking me up with some stuff to talk to you about. Fungo
- 32:20funk Go pops. Okay, what a water Funko pops man. They hit
- 32:23the market about ten years ago. They have licensing that covers any kind of
- 32:30property you can think of. They're like a three inch bubble head and they
- 32:35have just taken off like a rocket. They've got a lot. The only
- 32:37problem is there's some characters that they don't have licensing to yet, so people
- 32:42would do customs. So we're having a contest after you do your own custom
- 32:47Funko pop. Okay, it sounds it sounds interesting for sure, I just
- 32:52like send Funko on the air. So all this is happening Saturday now.
- 32:57It's going to be taking place primarily around the Nitro Living More Park, Is
- 33:00that right? That is absolutely correct? And as you said, we've got
- 33:04the Star Wars costume contest, you got prizes there, and this Lego builds
- 33:07and the funk Go thing. I mean, it sounds like it's going to
- 33:10be a big time. What are the idea I mean, I know the
- 33:14calendar helped out with the May fourth thing, but what did the idea to
- 33:15do all of this come from? You know, the Star Wars fan base
- 33:21is huge, and I'm not sure exactly when they started the May fourth event
- 33:27overall on a national basis, but we jumped onto it a few years ago.
- 33:30Just the play words May fourth made to fourth you with you is just
- 33:34a natural way to push Star Wars merchandise and the love of the movie franchise.
- 33:40Yeah, I mean, it's it's it just kind of popped up.
- 33:43I mean, this is the original Star Wars movie came out in nineteen seventy
- 33:45seven, and this whole thing with May the fourth, I mean it just
- 33:49kind of seemed like it came out of nowhere. But as you said,
- 33:52it is, it is huge. It is huge. And if you haven't
- 33:55seen the original Star Wars. At dark we were be showing that the original
- 33:59Star Wars movie a New Hope on an open screen in the park for free
- 34:04for everybody, come and watch. It's kind of interesting. Again, I'm
- 34:06not really a Star Wars guy. Go ahead and turn in my Generation X
- 34:09card there, but I will say that what they're interesting to me about the
- 34:13whole Star Wars movie franchise is the fact that you know, that was just
- 34:15known as Star Wars for years, and then they came out with the uh,
- 34:19with the with the sequels. But then but then suddenly the Star Wars,
- 34:22the original Star Wars from seventy seven, had another name added to it.
- 34:25Yeah, I think they had to the original idea when Lucas made the
- 34:30films was just Star Wars. He's gonna make three films and be done it
- 34:35out. Then, of course, hap to popularity hit and twenty years later
- 34:38they re released him and they went back and told the pre story, then
- 34:44went back and told after that hit, and then after Disney bought him out,
- 34:46they went back and told the post story for it all. So really,
- 34:50it's a whole story of not Luke Skywalker, but i Ankins Skywalker and
- 34:53Darth Vader. I know I'm nerding out here. I'm sorry, but it's
- 34:58all good, man, it's all good. You don't ask. I mean,
- 35:00you don't know if you don't ask, That's why I'm asking. I
- 35:01just it seemed to be interesting to me, and I didn't even I didn't
- 35:05know that that what you said that he originally planned to do three. How
- 35:07many Star Wars movies have there been? Oh, gosh, there's nine in
- 35:12the main continuum basically, then you throw in there's a couple of there's there's
- 35:16several offshoots. They did an offshoot with the story of han So Solo.
- 35:22They did an offshoot of the Rebels that stole the plans for just stroying the
- 35:27Death Star easily. There's probably nine, ten eleven films. Okay, well,
- 35:31that's a number of TV shows that Dizzey has put out. Yeah,
- 35:36I mean it's a big part of Again, we're talking with tim Orno about
- 35:37this big event that's going on in Nitro as part of the May of the
- 35:40fourth, and you did mention that the city of Hurricane and my part of
- 35:45the world is going to be doing something tomorrow. I'm going to have Amanda
- 35:47Smith Raimi from the City of Hurricane on to talk about what they are doing
- 35:51on Saturday. This is kind of like the perfect storm, as you said,
- 35:52because May the fourth became a big thing over the last couple of years,
- 35:55and the fact that it's on a Saturday, you can even add more
- 35:59to it. I guess right, Yeah, absolutely, It's like I said,
- 36:01it is perfect opportunity. You know, hopefully the weather will hold out
- 36:05for us. We're getting some iffy reports. Yeah, so if the weather
- 36:07holds out, I think it's' be a great weekend for any Star Wars fan
- 36:10or anyone that has the site interest in Star Wars whatsoever. To day,

- 36:39the Legal Cinema in nighter is going to supply some free popcorn for everybody,
- 36:44So bring a chair, kick back and do the movie. As long as
- 36:46the weather holds out, I think we'll all have a great time watching a
- 36:50classic. That sounds like it, Tim, Is there a place easy place

- 38:05justin Timberlake thing. I've seen the memes about it, and uh yeah,
- 38:09made the fourth all that also the Indy five hundred and everything in Memorial Day
- 38:14later this month, so that will also be popping up. Not offs off
- 38:21my head, No, I can. I can look into it though.
- 38:23Okay, we're having a conversation here with this much. There's there's two jeffs
- 38:30j Jeff Jeff Jenkins. How long have you been in radio? How long
- 38:34you been in radio. I love it. Go ahead. How you doing
- 38:38data? It's fine, Jeff. I'm I thought you were in a breakout.
- 38:44I tell you, well, that's no, No, that's fine.
- 38:45I'm over here talking to Hollywood Jeff Patty and Jeff Jenkins from the newsroom stix
- 38:50his head in here and just starts talking to me. You do realize I'm
- 38:52on the air here, right, But it's all right, it's all right.
- 38:55Yeah. How many years you been doing radio, Jeff? A few?
- 38:59Yeah? You Well, while you're while you're here, what's going on
- 39:01in the world? News makes it make yourself useful? What's going on?
- 39:05Well, we're going to run a story today. I just got finished talking
- 39:08to Appalachian Power Company. So they've got their preliminary storm damaged totals from the
- 39:14storm from earlier this month. So it's it's their price tag. Appalachians price
- 39:19tag is thirty million dollars. Thirty million dollars for the storm response and clean
- 39:24up in West Virginia. Wow, thirty million dollars. So, and we
- 39:29know how Appalachian Power recovers their costs. They recover it through the rate payers,
- 39:34the customers. So they have had some preliminary discussions with the PSC and
- 39:38they are going to file for that recovery over a several year period, not
- 39:44all at once. So that's what the company is saying right now. So
- 39:45we're working on a story about that. All right, there you go,
- 39:49there you go. Now, now this is this has been officially a new
- 39:52to my interruption. Yeah, it's it's all good man. Jeff Jenkins,
