- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome into Off the Bench, presented by all star Toyoda.
- 0:06Speaker 2: At your home risk.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We're bringing you to school sports talking so with Jacob
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hester and it might even live from the Haunting Studio.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Old here's Jacob Hester.
- 0:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in Off the Bench our three
- 0:48Speaker 3: from right here in the Raising King Studio. And yeah
- 0:53Speaker 3: you heard it. That's not Jake's voice, it's my voice
- 0:57Speaker 3: because there's a tripod. What once was four war is
- 1:01Speaker 3: now stronger with three?
- 1:04Speaker 2: Is that true? Taylor laundrybody?
- 1:06Speaker 4: I think, I mean, I think we're doing pretty good.
- 1:08Speaker 5: The Gordon mccurtin live read was really good. Yeah, and
- 1:12Speaker 5: we had theming to our would you Rather Wednesday? Which
- 1:15Speaker 5: was really fun.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Absolutely, I think we nailed it. The Halloween things pretty good.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I think we got at least one more week of it,
- 1:21Speaker 3: maybe two, two more weeks.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It is Halloween on a Friday Friday. Wow?
- 1:29Speaker 3: You know what? The thirty first backwards is thirteen?
- 1:34Speaker 4: Whoa Friday thirteenth? Wow backwards?
- 1:37Speaker 2: I just got chills.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Might be even more cursed.
- 1:41Speaker 3: All right, guys, are you all ready to Let's take
- 1:44Speaker 3: a look around the country, not just in our little bubble.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Let's not just look at LSU. Let's not just look
- 1:51Speaker 3: at the Saints. Let's expand our horizons a little bit,
- 1:55Speaker 3: just a little crop dusting sports. What do you say
- 1:59Speaker 3: to my my favorite song? Mmmm? All right, I guess
- 2:06Speaker 3: right now, it's kind of baseball season. It's October. October
- 2:09Speaker 3: baseball season is underway.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I haven't been as locked in as i'd kind of
- 2:15Speaker 3: like to be during the week's kind of busy with
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know, dance, gymnastics, uh, coaching, flight football, watching football,
- 2:24Speaker 3: breaking down film.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Last night, the Dodgers.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Take Game two in Milwaukee and they lead the NLCS
- 2:32Speaker 3: two to nothing. Now heading back out to LA for
- 2:35Speaker 3: Game three. Their pitcher, I'm gonna try to say his name.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Brewers pitcher Nope, Dodgers Oh oh okay.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yoshinobu yama Matto nailed nailed it. Yoshinobu Yamamato a complete game,
- 2:55Speaker 3: one hundred and eleven pitches in a complete game, seven strikeouts,
- 2:59Speaker 3: three hits, given only one run, and retired the final
- 3:03Speaker 3: fourteen batters of the game. So you know what, I
- 3:06Speaker 3: was looking up what people were talking about. One of
- 3:08Speaker 3: the best pitching performances, and like Major League baseball history,
- 3:12Speaker 3: playoff history. Yeah, pretty decent. This comes off of Blake
- 3:16Speaker 3: Snell when eight innings in game one and then Yamamato
- 3:19Speaker 3: goes a complete game in game two. So you know
- 3:22Speaker 3: what I think they're they got. I guess they got
- 3:24Speaker 3: a pretty good pitching over there. So anyway, the Dodgers
- 3:27Speaker 3: leading the Brewers, and nobody can be happier about this
- 3:31Speaker 3: than Palmer just laughing over their grave right now.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Is he wants evil to win in this situation?
- 3:38Speaker 2: He does. Yeah, And apparently Brewers not cheating. They still are.
- 3:45Speaker 4: You have to wait for them to play at home,
- 3:47Speaker 4: is what. Yeah, like Hunt things that they're cheating at
- 3:50Speaker 4: home because they were they win at home?
- 3:52Speaker 3: Were they don't know as they're going for game three,
- 3:54Speaker 3: they're going back out to La. Okay, Yeah, so I'm
- 3:57Speaker 3: not looking.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Good for the brute. I don't get that that theory.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Hunt's like, well, they're winning, they don't have good players.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I'm like, no, no, no, no no no.
- 4:05Speaker 5: If you're winning, if you have one of the best
- 4:07Speaker 5: records in baseball, you have good players. They may not
- 4:10Speaker 5: be mainstream. Actually, yeah, you have good players.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Here we all just agree on like he's a hater.
- 4:17Speaker 3: No, that we don't like the Dodgers, right, No, I
- 4:20Speaker 3: don't like doesnody like Dodgers except for Dodgers.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I don't like any LA team, any sport.
- 4:26Speaker 4: I mean, they just really do feel like the evil
- 4:28Speaker 4: in the league to me, the.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Evil Empire, is it. Do you think people think of
- 4:32Speaker 3: the Kansas City Chiefs in the same light?
- 4:35Speaker 2: I mean maybe, but okay, before the.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Super Bowl last year, maybe yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Because because I really didn't know people hated the Chiefs
- 4:43Speaker 3: like they did, because I was always a fan of
- 4:45Speaker 3: the Chiefs because I like, I like good quarterback play,
- 4:47Speaker 3: I like kind of dominance.
- 4:48Speaker 2: But I don't know, the way the Dodgers seems a
- 4:51Speaker 2: little slimy thing. Yeah, maybe not slimmy, maybe that's not
- 4:53Speaker 2: the word.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Just I mean, they just have so much money and
- 4:56Speaker 4: they spend it on like pitchers from Japan that do
- 5:00Speaker 4: really well.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Is this true?
- 5:01Speaker 3: Somebody in the chat said the Dodgers payrolls two hundred
- 5:04Speaker 3: million dollars more than the Brewers.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure it's more.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I don't know if that that sounds about right. Yeah,
- 5:09Speaker 4: million spend a lot of money.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I mean, think about how much show hey alone, mates,
- 5:15Speaker 2: wish I wish I'll play for Dodters.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Them and like the Mets, spend a lot of money too.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of state state taxes though a lot
- 5:24Speaker 3: of a lot of taxes going back to California.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Yeah. Other side though, the Alcs, the Mariners, the Blue Jays.
- 5:32Speaker 4: One of the fan favorites, the Big Dumper. He does
- 5:36Speaker 4: have a home run in Game one, so the Mariners
- 5:40Speaker 4: to me, okay, this feels like the Cinderella for me.
- 5:44Speaker 4: So I'm rooting for the Mariners in this situation. Like
- 5:47Speaker 4: the Brewers, I would like for them to win, just
- 5:49Speaker 4: to p his hunt off. But I am rooting for
- 5:53Speaker 4: the Mariners because of America, because of America.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Well, not forget their team, like half the time, like
- 6:00Speaker 5: they should never do anything true like.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Recently in recent history, they really haven't. But yeah, they
- 6:08Speaker 4: lead the Blue Jays to zero in the series so far.
- 6:11Speaker 4: They played today in Seattle, so they could take a
- 6:15Speaker 4: three to zero lead.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Was their first game?
- 6:17Speaker 3: Was it extra innings or was that the last game
- 6:20Speaker 3: with the last series they were at. Was there a
- 6:23Speaker 3: I think there was one that was extra big stitch
- 6:26Speaker 3: out over here.
- 6:29Speaker 4: There was a really cool double play the other night. Uh,
- 6:33Speaker 4: but I think that was the Brewers game. Yeah, it
- 6:35Speaker 4: was the Brewers game. They had a double play where
- 6:38Speaker 4: there's a pop out in center field. Well it wasn't
- 6:42Speaker 4: a pop out. They thought it was a pop out.
- 6:43Speaker 4: It bounced off the wall straight into the outfielders glove,
- 6:47Speaker 4: so they thought it was a pop out, and they
- 6:49Speaker 4: all tagged, like, they all went back to tag their
- 6:51Speaker 4: base because they thought it was out, so they went
- 6:56Speaker 4: to go tag, but they didn't have to, so they
- 6:58Speaker 4: get the out at home. And then the other guy
- 7:01Speaker 4: had went back to second base to tag, but obviously
- 7:03Speaker 4: he had to go to third base, so the catcher
- 7:05Speaker 4: just touched third and he got him out. So pretty
- 7:08Speaker 4: cool double play. But yes, game, it wasn't in the ALCS.
- 7:14Speaker 4: It was in the Divisional series that the Mariners went
- 7:18Speaker 4: into fifteen innings versus the Detroit Tigers.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Right quick baseball quiz on the defense side of the ball,
- 7:25Speaker 3: who is the four position?
- 7:27Speaker 2: Six? Four?
- 7:28Speaker 4: Three is second base?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Nailed it? Yeah? Who's six Taylor? Six? That would be
- 7:36Speaker 2: shortstop credit, Yeah, nailed it.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Look at us stitchheads.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Hey did you read my mind as you were talking
- 7:46Speaker 5: about the Kansas City Chiefs Evil Empire utap earlier this week?
- 7:52Speaker 2: Why they're involved in it.
- 7:53Speaker 5: I don't know, but U TAP they did research on
- 7:57Speaker 5: like penalties and playoff runs and everything, and they have
- 8:00Speaker 5: come to the conclusion from twenty fifteen to twenty twenty three,
- 8:04Speaker 5: a significant slant towards the Kansas City Chiefs has occurred.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Now not total number of penalties, but like average yards
- 8:11Speaker 5: per penalty against the opposing team has heavily favored the Chiefs.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Patrick Mahomes was thirty percent more likely to get a
- 8:19Speaker 5: roughing the passer call in the postseason.
- 8:22Speaker 2: And then they looked at like, okay.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Let's go look at the Patriots, the old Buffalo Bills
- 8:26Speaker 5: and Dynasty, like all all these teams that have made
- 8:28Speaker 5: these runs, none of them had the same slanted penalty yardage.
- 8:32Speaker 5: So this came out literally two days ago that uh,
- 8:35Speaker 5: you know, people's complaints.
- 8:37Speaker 2: UTEP says they're validated. So there's a research nerds. They said,
- 8:46Speaker 2: the Chiefs are more than.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Okay, so thirty more likely to get a rough in
- 8:50Speaker 3: the passer call in the playoffs versus his opponent or
- 8:53Speaker 3: every other.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Every other quarterback, like the average of the quarterback in
- 8:56Speaker 5: the playoffs.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Mahomes interesting a lot of that. Yeah, it's pretty damning.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Now where there smoke, there's fires certainly. Now, do I
- 9:06Speaker 3: think there's a conspiracy theory, No, do. I think most
- 9:11Speaker 3: of it's probably kind of like style of play, and
- 9:14Speaker 3: NFL says protect these certain quarterbacks little bit more. But
- 9:17Speaker 3: style of play certainly, like he plays tough, he plays around,
- 9:23Speaker 3: and he holds onto it at the last moment, like
- 9:25Speaker 3: that's that's an asset. That's a good thing when you
- 9:29Speaker 3: have a quarterback that can do that. I don't know
- 9:32Speaker 3: if that accounts for thirty percent more though, but I
- 9:37Speaker 3: kind of his antics earlier this year on the sideline
- 9:41Speaker 3: were a little bit.
- 9:43Speaker 4: He's never annoyed me.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Sorry, I mean maybe because he's from like right outside
- 9:50Speaker 3: where I'm from, and I just like dominant players, and
- 9:54Speaker 3: so I like seeing people be dominant in.
- 9:56Speaker 2: A sport that's really hard to even be the right.
- 10:01Speaker 3: So for them to do what they did, I get
- 10:03Speaker 3: the hate because, like I kind of hate the Dodgers
- 10:05Speaker 3: for the same reason. But it's not like the Chiefs
- 10:08Speaker 3: are spending so much more money than there. It's an
- 10:09Speaker 3: equal plane field from a dollars and cent standpoint.
- 10:12Speaker 4: More so, there's caps and yeah, right, yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 3: So I like that a lot better. So if you're
- 10:16Speaker 3: on an equal plane field and just dominant.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I like that.
- 10:19Speaker 5: They didn't they didn't give the exact number like percentages,
- 10:22Speaker 5: but they were saying it just says a significantly higher clip.
- 10:25Speaker 5: They called it judgment call play okay, catch you no
- 10:28Speaker 5: catch all those significantly went in the chiefs favor, like
- 10:31Speaker 5: instead of it being a fifty to fifty call. Like
- 10:34Speaker 5: they didn't give a number, but let's say like seventy
- 10:35Speaker 5: percent of them winning their favorite like something like that,
- 10:37Speaker 5: they were saying, significantly higher they get the fifty to
- 10:40Speaker 5: fifty goals.
- 10:41Speaker 4: So, as someone who was in the NFL, can you
- 10:44Speaker 4: confirm that there are script writers?
- 10:47Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 10:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's script for you.
- 10:50Speaker 2: It's actually a wrestling Yeah, you think about it.
- 10:52Speaker 4: You were part of the script at one point.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, there was like a there's a ready every game
- 10:58Speaker 3: we went to a meeting, went to the table kind everything.
- 11:01Speaker 4: That's right, you're gonna go down, that's right, it's gonna
- 11:04Speaker 4: come in and just mm hmm.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You know how I can wrestling.
- 11:07Speaker 3: It's like when someone's on top of you and like
- 11:09Speaker 3: you like they say they pinched their leg or something
- 11:11Speaker 3: when they're about to run out, like that's what that's
- 11:12Speaker 3: where all the signals are. But we talked about it's
- 11:14Speaker 3: like signaling coverage, just that you.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Signaling the other team what to do.
- 11:19Speaker 3: It's all three rehearsal. Yeah, they're not even live games.
- 11:23Speaker 3: It's actually pre.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Right and they're flipping the script on the Chiefs this season.
- 11:29Speaker 2: What do they call it? What did John Cena do
- 11:31Speaker 2: when they turned bad? Turn?
- 11:32Speaker 4: He hel turn hill, He'll turn They've been the heel
- 11:36Speaker 4: from me.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I do have another one uh here. I kind of
- 11:42Speaker 3: contemplated doing this because it is like the Saint's rival,
- 11:44Speaker 3: but I kind of want to just like tip a
- 11:46Speaker 3: cap to b Jhon Robinson right now, who I thinks
- 11:49Speaker 3: might be the best football player in the NFL right now.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Like we kind of go back every week, it's gonna
- 11:53Speaker 3: be a little bit different earlier a couple of weeks ago.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Is Josh Allen uh B. John Robinson's kind of on
- 11:58Speaker 3: a historical start to the season. The dude is on
- 12:01Speaker 3: pace right now, And I know pace is kind of
- 12:02Speaker 3: a weird thing, but it just kind of tells you
- 12:04Speaker 3: how good he's playing right now. He's on pace for
- 12:07Speaker 3: nearly thirteen hundred and fifty rushing yards and eleven hundred
- 12:11Speaker 3: and fifty receiving yards.
- 12:13Speaker 2: If he was.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Able to accomplish that, he would be I think the
- 12:16Speaker 3: fourth all time person to have one thousand yards rushing
- 12:19Speaker 3: and receiving in the same year we got Roger Craig Marshall,
- 12:23Speaker 3: Fought and Christian McCaffrey.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Are a part of that list.
- 12:26Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 12:27Speaker 3: So like what he is doing, the like the guy
- 12:30Speaker 3: is incredile. You hear more and more coaches talking about him. No,
- 12:35Speaker 3: like there's good running backs in the NFL. This guy's different.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I don't care who you talk about. I don't know
- 12:40Speaker 3: if it's h James Cooks, if it's Sakwon Barkley, if
- 12:45Speaker 3: it's Dereck Henry, all of those coaches they would trade
- 12:48Speaker 3: one for one, any guy for b John Robbinson, he's
- 12:51Speaker 3: a good. Week one eighteen touches one hundred and twenty
- 12:53Speaker 3: four yards. Week two twenty five touches one hundred and
- 12:55Speaker 3: sixty eight yards. Week three eighteen touches one hundred and
- 12:57Speaker 3: eleven yards. Week four twenty one touches one hundred and
- 13:00Speaker 3: eighty one yards In this past week. Week five twenty
- 13:03Speaker 3: five touches two hundred and thirty eight yards total.
- 13:07Speaker 2: The guy is a moot stuff.
- 13:09Speaker 4: He's playing his house off.
- 13:10Speaker 5: To me, there's a clear top three as far as
- 13:12Speaker 5: like running backs go, Like it's jon It's Jamier Gibbs,
- 13:16Speaker 5: and it's Jonathan Taylor as far as this year goes.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, those guys are face off. It's like a lot
- 13:21Speaker 2: of people have.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Talked about, Oh, you know the Eagles offense takeaway touches
- 13:26Speaker 5: yards per Carrie for starting running backs Saquon Barkley lowest
- 13:30Speaker 5: in the league.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I'm so fed up with the Eagles. I'm glad. Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 3: I like I like Saquon too. He's like one of
- 13:38Speaker 3: the spots on the Eagles team that I actually like
- 13:40Speaker 3: everything else.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I love Saquon. He's making me very angry because
- 13:46Speaker 4: he's on my fantasy team and like, I am getting nothing.
- 13:49Speaker 5: You're taking a personally, I am, I have a J Brown.
- 13:52Speaker 5: I'm right there with you.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's so funny. I know it getting personal when
- 13:56Speaker 3: it comes to fantasy. No separate your emotionals.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Oh my, your emotions not a good season for me.
- 14:02Speaker 4: It's making me very angry.
- 14:03Speaker 5: One more quick one if you guys want it. Twenty
- 14:07Speaker 5: five LSU Baseball team or head to the White House
- 14:10Speaker 5: upcoming this coming Monday. They're gonna be there to well
- 14:12Speaker 5: celebrate their national championship season.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Yeah excited. I would have felt they would.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Have already done this, but they're They're going to be
- 14:20Speaker 5: at the White House on Monday.
- 14:22Speaker 4: The most stitchhead show on here.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's crazy way.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I mean, we were pumping hell a baseball propaganda.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I mean we did send Jay Johnson a steak.
- 14:30Speaker 4: We did, just Sam, I did make the trip up there.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I heard that when we heard, we all heard that
- 14:35Speaker 3: he was just eating like Taco Bell. He didn't have
- 14:37Speaker 3: time right now. He said, Nope, can't do it. We
- 14:39Speaker 3: can't let this happen.
- 14:40Speaker 4: No, he needs a stake.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I mean solely, we're pretty much to show that helped
- 14:46Speaker 3: him whin they win it all.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Yeah, we fed and fueled him, like Jay is not
- 14:50Speaker 5: in as good of a mood with Taco Bill as
- 14:52Speaker 5: he is with a with a state.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Right like that, that that changed everything in the locker room,
- 14:56Speaker 2: really did, And they went on the run.
- 14:59Speaker 3: When I started doing this, Yeah, when I had to
- 15:01Speaker 3: start educating Louisiana on LSU baseball. Hello, welcome for that, Richard.
- 15:09Speaker 5: You gotta have a good LSU baseball win loss record.
- 15:12Speaker 5: You started here in June. I mean your your win
- 15:15Speaker 5: loss records, probably eighty percent.
- 15:16Speaker 2: It's up there. It's pretty elite, all right, y'all rule
- 15:22Speaker 2: the goat, all right.
- 15:26Speaker 3: That let's crop dust and sports. We're gonna do it
- 15:28Speaker 3: every single week, maybe a couple of times a week.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Get a pending on what's happening and around the country
- 15:33Speaker 3: out there. All right, that'll wrap it up. We will
- 15:35Speaker 3: come back. We still got a little bit left to
- 15:37Speaker 3: do this hour. We're gonna do some film study. We're
- 15:39Speaker 3: gonna keep talking LSU Vandy right here, off the.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Bench, Off the bench, all right.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Go to Russell Pools dot com. Russell pool Company, the name.

- 16:15Speaker 3: you want it. They can do it. And if you
- 16:17Speaker 3: have something in mind, if you've been thinking about a
- 16:18Speaker 3: project kind of like me, I've been wanted to do

- 17:41Speaker 6: This.
- 17:43Speaker 1: What is this?
- 17:44Speaker 4: It is? I feel like I'm crushing it.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Creep?
- 17:50Speaker 3: Yeah, of course this reminds me. You have the other
- 17:54Speaker 3: guys movie Gotta Creep, Yeah, gotta who's the actor? Michael
- 18:01Speaker 3: Keaton just keeps quoting TLC lines throughout.
- 18:04Speaker 2: He's I don't know what you're talking about. I don't
- 18:07Speaker 2: understand the rest. Don't go chasing waterfalls don't go chasing waterfaffs.
- 18:10Speaker 3: So what I'm saying, do you do you realize that
- 18:14Speaker 3: you're quoting TLC songs?
- 18:19Speaker 2: All right, here we go. So we haven't done this.
- 18:21Speaker 3: I'd like to kind of do this, maybe not, maybe
- 18:24Speaker 3: not on a weekly situation in the NFL. I also
- 18:27Speaker 3: like to get to it in college a little bit.
- 18:29Speaker 3: There's just so many quarterbacks in the landscape of college football.
- 18:32Speaker 3: It is kind of trust to give an accurate representation,
- 18:35Speaker 3: an accurate list, But I want to get into a
- 18:38Speaker 3: little Flynn's NFL post Week seven QB Power rankings.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Now, what I'm gonna do here is give you kind
- 18:46Speaker 2: of my.
- 18:47Speaker 3: List of a top ten quarterbacks that I feel are
- 18:50Speaker 3: playing the best in the NFL. And I'm calculating a
- 18:54Speaker 3: little bit of everything. I'm calculating team record, I'm calculating
- 18:58Speaker 3: a little bit of your history, what you've done in
- 19:02Speaker 3: the past, kind of how you're playing recently, and of
- 19:04Speaker 3: course things that have happened recently. If you lose some games,
- 19:08Speaker 3: those are gonna play a big impact in it. But
- 19:10Speaker 3: I want to give you kind of my list of
- 19:12Speaker 3: who I think are playing the best quarterback in the
- 19:16Speaker 3: NFL right now.
- 19:18Speaker 2: So I'm gonna start.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So I got a top ten list, but I do
- 19:22Speaker 3: I'll give you honorable mention after this is all done.
- 19:24Speaker 3: All right, We're gonna start with number ten, a second
- 19:26Speaker 3: year quarterback. He just came down this past week to
- 19:31Speaker 3: the super Dome and beat our New Orleans Saints. Mister
- 19:36Speaker 3: Drake May. I really do feel like this kid is
- 19:38Speaker 3: playing well. He is coming on and he's playing better
- 19:40Speaker 3: and better. I talk all the time about the week
- 19:42Speaker 3: of the year one to two jump for all players,
- 19:45Speaker 3: but specifically quarterbacks that jump from year one to two
- 19:49Speaker 3: can make a huge difference. And he had sparks moments
- 19:52Speaker 3: last year where he was playing really well. So I
- 19:54Speaker 3: feel like he's kind of put it all together. Josh
- 19:57Speaker 3: McDaniel's a huge benefit for him. Like I know first hand,
- 19:59Speaker 3: John McDaniels is a really, really, really good offensive coordinator
- 20:03Speaker 3: and can get the best out of guys. I watched
- 20:05Speaker 3: him coaching a rookie Jimmy Garoppolo, Yeah, Garoppolo early on
- 20:10Speaker 3: when I was there. I was there for a couple
- 20:11Speaker 3: of coffee, sure, but I got to be coached by him,
- 20:13Speaker 3: be on the field with him in the meeting room,
- 20:15Speaker 3: and his messaging, the way he teaches, the way he
- 20:18Speaker 3: gets that message out is really impressive. So for a
- 20:20Speaker 3: young quarterback, Josh McDaniels is absolutely his best friend and
- 20:24Speaker 3: just playing well. He's big, he's tall, he strong, he's fast,
- 20:26Speaker 3: he's got a big arm, he's accurate, he has kind
- 20:28Speaker 3: of that whole package, and he's got the ability. He
- 20:31Speaker 3: keeps on this path to be one of those top
- 20:33Speaker 3: five guys in the next.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You know, in the years to come. All right. Number nine,
- 20:38Speaker 2: a guy that has been.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Slapped on, a guy that people had written off for
- 20:43Speaker 3: a long time. And I think this is going to
- 20:46Speaker 3: be a common theme on this top ten list. A
- 20:48Speaker 3: guy that had been written off, a guy who's a
- 20:50Speaker 3: high draft pick. People thought he was washed, people thought
- 20:53Speaker 3: he was a bust. What does he do last year?
- 20:55Speaker 3: He just plays amazing for the Minnesota Vikings and then
- 21:01Speaker 3: didn't get signed back.
- 21:02Speaker 2: But now he's with the Seattle Seahawks.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Mister Sam Donald has that team humming and Seattle Seahawks,
- 21:08Speaker 3: look out. They are a really good football team. They
- 21:12Speaker 3: are they're dangerous. We saw them. That's the worst outing
- 21:16Speaker 3: performance the Saints have had. So we saw first and
- 21:18Speaker 3: of course we shut ourselves in the foot a lot.
- 21:20Speaker 3: But Sam Darnald, I think I think Seattle sitting at
- 21:22Speaker 3: four and two right now, he's got i think just
- 21:25Speaker 3: over fifteen hundred yards passing currently, eleven touchdowns, three interceptions.
- 21:30Speaker 2: So a guy that the Vikings.
- 21:34Speaker 3: I was kind of surprised the way he played last
- 21:36Speaker 3: year with the weapons that he has, that Minnesota was
- 21:39Speaker 3: just okay with riding JJ McCarthy.
- 21:42Speaker 5: I think it was just because other season ended like
- 21:45Speaker 5: unfortunately for Donald last year. Yeah, his worst game was
- 21:48Speaker 5: his last one, But what.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Do you have?
- 21:50Speaker 5: Four thousand yards last year, thirty five touchdowns. I mean, yes,
- 21:54Speaker 5: he's no longer a one year wonder like he did
- 21:56Speaker 5: this a year ago.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's playing well, and so they that's kind
- 21:59Speaker 3: of Seattle's been a kind of place where people have
- 22:01Speaker 3: gone to rehab a little bit. Gina Smith did it,
- 22:03Speaker 3: but Sam he rehabbed in Minnesota and now he's just
- 22:06Speaker 3: continued to keep playing well well. So Sam Donald comes
- 22:09Speaker 3: in at number nine, number eight. Jared Goff, another guy
- 22:12Speaker 3: that was cast away by the Rams. He goes over
- 22:14Speaker 3: to we know what he's done with the Lions, but
- 22:16Speaker 3: just playing well. He's just a very good, complete quarterback,
- 22:18Speaker 3: plays within the system, really well, accurate, arm great leader,
- 22:21Speaker 3: The city loves him. Four and two the Lions, and
- 22:25Speaker 3: they're going to be They are going to be a
- 22:27Speaker 3: force being the playoffs. And Jared Goff just a really
- 22:29Speaker 3: good player. He's I think he is going to be
- 22:31Speaker 3: a perennial just top ten guy. I don't know if
- 22:34Speaker 3: he's ever going to creep into that top five situation,
- 22:37Speaker 3: but he is a guy that they love and.
- 22:38Speaker 2: You can trust.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Number seven. Holy moly, is this a guy that has
- 22:42Speaker 3: come out of nowhere this year and the coolest nickname around.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Danny Dimes. Sorry Giants, you suck Danny Dimes. Saquon Barkley.
- 22:53Speaker 3: They just have gone to greener pastures and done really well.
- 22:57Speaker 3: The Colts the surprise team of the league this year.
- 23:00Speaker 3: They're like, oh, they're going to start Danny Dimes, They're
- 23:02Speaker 3: gonna start Anthony Richardson. Well, I think they made a
- 23:04Speaker 3: pretty decent choice. The Colts are five and one right now.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Danny Dimes fifteen hundred two yards, eight tutters, three picks,
- 23:13Speaker 3: not a crazy amount of touchdown pass but just operating
- 23:15Speaker 3: exactly what they do, doing exactly what they need to
- 23:18Speaker 3: do to win. And this week they got the charges.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Number six, our guy, Jaden Daniels. I'm just gonna throw
- 23:24Speaker 3: him in there. I know they lost, I know he
- 23:25Speaker 3: had a couple of picks, a little fumble action. I'm
- 23:27Speaker 3: not going to judge him too critically right now because
- 23:30Speaker 3: of just the bad weather that they did play. I'm
- 23:32Speaker 3: not going to say he's got outdueled by anybody. It's
- 23:34Speaker 3: just the team that made the least not of mistakes,
- 23:37Speaker 3: and and Washington just had some timely mistakes right there
- 23:41Speaker 3: at the end.
- 23:41Speaker 2: They could have iced the game. Little grip problems from Jaden.
- 23:44Speaker 3: But Jayden, I mean, you're not going to put him
- 23:46Speaker 3: out of the top ten quarterback list. He's dangerous, he's deadly,
- 23:49Speaker 3: he's throwing the ball great, he's seeing the ball great, uh,
- 23:53Speaker 3: seeing the defense great.
- 23:54Speaker 2: So he's always going to be up there.
- 23:56Speaker 3: And I don't I mean, barring some crazy drop off,
- 24:00Speaker 3: I don't see him dropping much further than that. He's
- 24:03Speaker 3: only he's a potential top five, top three guy in
- 24:06Speaker 3: the NFL. All right, number five. I'm putting him in
- 24:08Speaker 3: there because they started out slow. I chose this team
- 24:12Speaker 3: not to be in the playoffs this year. Patrick Mahomes
- 24:15Speaker 3: of course number five, and that's I know, I know,
- 24:18Speaker 3: and it's kind of low for him, right this is
- 24:20Speaker 3: this is five is a low ranking for him. He's
- 24:22Speaker 3: always thought of to be top one, top two, top three.
- 24:25Speaker 3: They started out slow, but I guess the Chiefs is
- 24:29Speaker 3: still the Chiefs. Unfortunately, what a great win they had
- 24:33Speaker 3: this past week, and of course they're forcing them on
- 24:35Speaker 3: prime time all the time. Get ready, We're going to
- 24:37Speaker 3: see more of them, more and more prime time. But
- 24:39Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes, I don't really need to explain his stats.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I don't really need to explain who he is or
- 24:43Speaker 3: why he is. It seems like the Chiefs have fined
- 24:46Speaker 3: their footing, They've got their receivers back, they got weapons,
- 24:51Speaker 3: Kareem Hunt, the Chaco they are helping him out as well.
- 24:54Speaker 3: So look, it's uh, you know, as much if y'all
- 24:56Speaker 3: hate the Chiefs, I'm sorry, but he's really good and
- 24:58Speaker 3: he's probably just going to continue to move up that list.
- 25:00Speaker 2: I got Matthew Stafford at four.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Matthew Stafford is Matthew Stafford the best arm talent, or
- 25:07Speaker 3: one of the best arm talents in the League's played
- 25:09Speaker 3: football at a very, very incredibly high level, at a
- 25:12Speaker 3: top five, at a top ten high level, for you know,
- 25:14Speaker 3: about fifty years now, and it's a guy that just
- 25:17Speaker 3: won't go away. Battled injuries in the offseason, but he
- 25:20Speaker 3: is just a dude. He read you've seen the no
- 25:22Speaker 3: look passes, but the guy just has seen every defense.
- 25:24Speaker 3: You can't throw anything at this guy that he hadn't seen.
- 25:28Speaker 3: At number three, I kind of I was back and
- 25:30Speaker 3: forth between Stafford and my number three pick here justin Herbert,
- 25:34Speaker 3: but I gave our guy, Jacob Paster the no on
- 25:36Speaker 3: this justin Herbert, and just basically because of the play
- 25:40Speaker 3: he made at the end of the game this past week,
- 25:42Speaker 3: to you know, shaking off two or three defenders and
- 25:44Speaker 3: making a play to get a first down, get him
- 25:46Speaker 3: into field goal range and win it. Yeah, they've kind
- 25:48Speaker 3: of looked a little shake in the past couple of weeks,
- 25:50Speaker 3: but they have probably seven eight key guys out with injury.
- 25:53Speaker 2: So the fact that they're.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Still winning games, still relevant, and still competing with all
- 25:58Speaker 3: those injuries. He's just impressive man. All can make all
- 26:00Speaker 3: the throws in the world. And number two. If I
- 26:03Speaker 3: would have done the rankings last week, he would have
- 26:06Speaker 3: been at number one, but today number two Josh Allen.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Josh Allen also needs no introduction, the reigning NFL MVP.
- 26:17Speaker 3: An absolute dog, an absolute competitor, and he's pretty much
- 26:22Speaker 3: doing everything by himself. The little help from James Cook's
- 26:25Speaker 3: a little help from kin Kid. Maybe you know he
- 26:27Speaker 3: got key on Coleman. You got Shakiir making some plays
- 26:30Speaker 3: out there. They got enough weapons to let him kind
- 26:33Speaker 3: of take over a game. But watching him, he's just
- 26:36Speaker 3: a guy. He's just a dude. And early in his
- 26:39Speaker 3: career he always seemed to make like one or two
- 26:41Speaker 3: bad plays to lose games. We didn't know if he
- 26:44Speaker 3: could ever take that next jump to like be the
- 26:46Speaker 3: guy to consistently go and use your talent. We see
- 26:49Speaker 3: the good, but we also see a little bit of
- 26:50Speaker 3: the bad. He is eliminated, not eliminated, but he has
- 26:52Speaker 3: taken most of that bad out of there.
- 26:54Speaker 2: It can absolutely take over a game and super strong too.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Good lord.
- 27:00Speaker 3: He just runs over people and he jumps over people.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Really fun to watch. He's kind of like he's playing
- 27:04Speaker 3: backyard ball out there. And number one on my quarterback
- 27:08Speaker 3: power list, Taylor take it easier there. Don't go to go,
- 27:13Speaker 3: don't go to Goodwood. Baker Mayfield. Yeah, he's not gonna
- 27:18Speaker 3: need to go to Goodwood. Just Baker Mayfield the number one,
- 27:21Speaker 3: the best quarterback in the NFL as of right now.
- 27:25Speaker 2: That has room to change.
- 27:26Speaker 3: But my god, when you get hit after you make
- 27:28Speaker 3: a throw, when you get hit in the pocket and
- 27:30Speaker 3: you stand up talking trash, when you scramble, when you
- 27:34Speaker 3: break fifty five tackles on one play and scramble for
- 27:37Speaker 3: a first down and reach it out? Man, is there
- 27:39Speaker 3: a quarterback in football? I don't care what league that
- 27:42Speaker 3: has the loyalty, has the passion from his teammates and
- 27:48Speaker 3: coaches Southan Baker Mayfield right now the most likable guy
- 27:52Speaker 3: in the league. Two people that like offense. Maybe not defense,
- 27:55Speaker 3: I'm sure defenders hat him. But making everything he makes
- 27:58Speaker 3: the plays when That's the key thing about Baker may
- 28:00Speaker 3: He makes the plays when they matter and when he's
- 28:01Speaker 3: supposed to, when the play has to be made in
- 28:04Speaker 3: a crucial part of the game. He's making every single one.
- 28:07Speaker 3: So can he keep it up?
- 28:09Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 28:09Speaker 3: But Buccaneers, they were riding the coattails of Baker Mayfield,
- 28:14Speaker 3: number one quarterback in the NFL as of Week seven.
- 28:19Speaker 2: What do you think, Yeah, okay, I think it's a
- 28:21Speaker 2: correct list.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I'm glad you love Josh Allen too, Yeah, because like
- 28:26Speaker 5: you know, it'd be easy to drop him after that.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Falcons were coming off of a bye, they were healthy.
- 28:31Speaker 5: Josh Allen did not have Dalton kN kid Like to me,
- 28:34Speaker 5: that looked like a game where everybody said, oh, we're
- 28:36Speaker 5: the Falcons for real. Maybe, but to me that looked
- 28:39Speaker 5: like a beat up Bills team going against the squad.
- 28:42Speaker 5: It was real West rested. It had two weeks to
- 28:44Speaker 5: prepare like that. I appreciate that you keep him in
- 28:46Speaker 5: two because he's he's been great. Yeah, he's been Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 5: I'm not going to take him off of one. One
- 28:50Speaker 5: loss and honorable mentions real quick, Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers,
- 28:53Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts are my honorable mentions right there? All right,
- 28:57Speaker 5: that wraps up I Power rankings. So we'll go to
- 29:02Speaker 5: break and we come back. We'll do a little film
- 29:04Speaker 5: study right here on off the bench, Off the bench,
- 29:11Speaker 5: all right, go to go Tommy's dot com.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Who's gonna say go Tommy or Yo Tommy, Yo Tommy,

- 29:35Speaker 3: know you're gonna call a couple of different contractors and
- 29:37Speaker 3: get prices. Get what they can do. Do yourself a favorite.

- 29:43Speaker 3: and so you can meet with them, talk with them,

- 30:06Speaker 3: see them go Tommy's dot Com.

- 30:29Speaker 1: This is off the Bench with Hester and Flynn Baton
- 30:32Speaker 1: Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana Sports.
- 30:43Speaker 3: From the two album here Boys them in Welcome Back
- 30:47Speaker 3: off the Bench. I want to tell you about Pala
- 30:49Speaker 3: Pala Industrial Contractors here in Baton Rouge. Hard work isn't
- 30:54Speaker 3: just the same, it's a way of life, and nobody

- 30:59Speaker 3: fifty years, has been one of the Gulf Coast most
- 31:01Speaker 3: trusted names in industrial construction, building and maintaining the facilities
- 31:05Speaker 3: that power our region from petrochemical plants, energy projects. When

- 31:38Speaker 3: It's nineteen seventy three. All right, We're gonna do a
- 31:43Speaker 3: little film study here. So I've been watching a little
- 31:47Speaker 3: bit of Vanderbilt trying to and I gave you a
- 31:49Speaker 3: little bit of breakdown earlier about this Vanderbilt team.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Very well coached.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Okay, so Clark Lee has done an incredible job at
- 31:56Speaker 3: taking a program that has historically just not been relevant
- 32:01Speaker 3: for an entire season, certainly not multiple seasons. They had
- 32:03Speaker 3: flashes here and there, but this is this is a
- 32:06Speaker 3: team that's very well coached. They're gonna do everything they're
- 32:08Speaker 3: not gonna give you, just like they're not gonna be
- 32:10Speaker 3: very blitz heavy, very pass heavy. They are very balanced
- 32:13Speaker 3: on everything defensive side of the ball. Their balance. They're gonna run, man,
- 32:15Speaker 3: They're gonna run zone. Theyre won two three four coverages.
- 32:18Speaker 3: They're gonna do everything on offense. It's death by a
- 32:21Speaker 3: thousand cuts with this offense. They're gonna hand it off,
- 32:24Speaker 3: they're gonna quarterback run, they're gonna do jet sweeps, they're
- 32:26Speaker 3: gonna screen you. They're gonna do the zone read with
- 32:29Speaker 3: a quarterback. They'll do RPOs, quick routes, they'll take play
- 32:32Speaker 3: action and take a deep shot. Quarterbacks gonna scramble and
- 32:34Speaker 3: certainly no sliding.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Uh.
- 32:36Speaker 3: And they're very disciplined in what they do and not
- 32:39Speaker 3: to mention they got an absolute caveman of a quarterback
- 32:43Speaker 3: that just plays the game full out.
- 32:46Speaker 2: So we're gonna go to the clip here.
- 32:47Speaker 3: I just want to show you a little bit of
- 32:48Speaker 3: a little bit of what we're dealing with with this
- 32:51Speaker 3: Diego Pavia.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Guy. Oh, I'm on full screen here, bud. See all right?
- 33:06Speaker 3: Oh on one second, technical difficulties you're rehearsed as a break.
- 33:11Speaker 3: All right, you try now, all right, we're just gonna
- 33:14Speaker 3: play it.
- 33:15Speaker 2: There we go.
- 33:17Speaker 3: All right, so watch this, watch this by This play
- 33:19Speaker 3: actually just kind of made me laugh when I was
- 33:22Speaker 3: watching it. So a little scramble to the right, it's nothing,
- 33:26Speaker 3: nothing's playing. Sorry, guys, technical difficulties in here. We're not
- 33:29Speaker 3: gonna be able to watch the film.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Just reconnected real quick, should I? Yeah?
- 33:38Speaker 3: Yeah, Hey, this is the first Blimish since Jason got bet.
- 33:41Speaker 3: He's just laughing right now, laughing at this is said anybody?
- 33:45Speaker 3: This isn't knowing anybody. Mm hmmmm, all right, good luck
- 33:52Speaker 3: to us, Scott Speed.
- 33:56Speaker 2: What was this the pitch play? This is not the
- 33:58Speaker 2: pitch play.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Uh. This is a play where Diego Pavia scrambles out
- 34:02Speaker 3: to the or does a sprint out to the right.
- 34:04Speaker 3: He hits a short little pass and we've all seen
- 34:06Speaker 3: the play where you know, there's a big pile up,
- 34:09Speaker 3: there's a scrum running back, the ball carriers fighting for
- 34:13Speaker 3: extra yardage, and linemen will come in off his line
- 34:17Speaker 3: will come and try to clean up the pile. Look
- 34:19Speaker 3: for work people standing around the pile defenders. They're gonna
- 34:22Speaker 3: try to send a little bit of a message and
- 34:23Speaker 3: clean it up. Well, Diego Pavia takes it upon himself
- 34:28Speaker 3: to be that workhorse. He sprints out, throws a pass,
- 34:32Speaker 3: the guy catches it, takes a couple of yards, piles up,
- 34:35Speaker 3: and Diego Pavia comes in and tries to light people up.
- 34:37Speaker 3: He's an absolute cave man, an absolute animal. And uh, Taylor,
- 34:44Speaker 3: how are we doing, Bud? Now it's done. We're toast.
- 34:51Speaker 3: So sorry, guys, Sorry out there. I know I was
- 34:54Speaker 3: kind of looking for it this, Mike. One of my
- 34:55Speaker 3: favorite parts of doing this is kind of watching the
- 34:59Speaker 3: film and to educate a little bit.
- 35:01Speaker 2: But laundred. Guess what what Matt broke the surface? He did. No,
- 35:10Speaker 2: it's not a service.
- 35:11Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 35:13Speaker 2: Like he's he's full screen and like that's what it
- 35:15Speaker 2: looks like.
- 35:16Speaker 4: On my end, Do you try unplugging it and play.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Just hot trouble on it? It didn't work? Oh no,
- 35:26Speaker 2: I know.
- 35:28Speaker 3: All right, Well let's go around the room and see
- 35:30Speaker 3: what y'all's what y'all are looking at for the So
- 35:33Speaker 3: we've I've just kind of talked about how their offense
- 35:37Speaker 3: is like death by a thousand cuts. They are not
- 35:40Speaker 3: gonna hit a ton of like explosive plays. They're gonna
- 35:44Speaker 3: try yeah, and he's they're gonna try to hit it.
- 35:45Speaker 3: They're gonna play action you But really it's they give
- 35:48Speaker 3: you so many different looks on offense. They give you
- 35:51Speaker 3: so many different things to as a defense, to have
- 35:54Speaker 3: to game plan for. They run a ton of screens,
- 35:57Speaker 3: they run the jet motions, zone inside, outside zone, they
- 36:00Speaker 3: run counters and then oh yeah they can have this
- 36:02Speaker 3: this meat out of a quarterback do quarterback powers, quarterback runs,
- 36:06Speaker 3: then zone reads, then quick motions, and then to a
- 36:09Speaker 3: zone read, and then they love little quick passes, sprint out,
- 36:13Speaker 3: move the pocket a little bit. They just keep they
- 36:16Speaker 3: they don't settle on one thing like so many offensive
- 36:19Speaker 3: do as an identity. Their identity really is Diego Pavia
- 36:23Speaker 3: and the energy that he brings. So it's not one
- 36:25Speaker 3: thing that you can game plan. It is a completely
- 36:27Speaker 3: balanced offense. And I'm not just talking about like what
- 36:30Speaker 3: the run pass percentages. You remember Mike Mike Leach's old
- 36:34Speaker 3: saying about well it's balanced, because yeah, we throw it
- 36:36Speaker 3: sixty times a game, but we got nine people with
- 36:41Speaker 3: over twenty thirty yards receiving, So that's pretty balanced to me.
- 36:44Speaker 2: So what they do is, yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Their runs might be a lot more, but they're running
- 36:49Speaker 3: it with receivers, they're running back with quarterbacks, they're running
- 36:51Speaker 3: with different different running backs, and they are It makes
- 36:57Speaker 3: it really hard for defensive coordinators. So it's it's one
- 37:01Speaker 3: of the things that I'm looking at is what kind
- 37:03Speaker 3: of confusion that we can bring out. They were in
- 37:05Speaker 3: like the game that I really watched, this Alabama game
- 37:08Speaker 3: and this at halftimee fourteen fourteen.
- 37:10Speaker 4: With time, they might have came back until that last
- 37:14Speaker 4: fumble that they had in that game, Like they what
- 37:18Speaker 4: was the score in the fourth quarter where they had
- 37:20Speaker 4: that last drive Vandy did? It was close. I think
- 37:23Speaker 4: they just needed a Touchdow they were down seventeen, maybe
- 37:28Speaker 4: I don't remember, they were down eighty.
- 37:31Speaker 5: They lost by sixteen so they were down whatever the
- 37:34Speaker 5: touchdown was, is Obama scored lates, they were probably down seven.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Yeah, so they had the chance. But I think Diego
- 37:42Speaker 4: fumbled it fumbled in the second and it But to
- 37:45Speaker 4: your point about their offense though, and our defense, I
- 37:49Speaker 4: think I know, like Blake Baker is also a psycho,
- 37:54Speaker 4: like if you in the best possible rye the best
- 37:56Speaker 4: way we say it with love. So I think the
- 37:59Speaker 4: defense is like he can handle it. The question is
- 38:03Speaker 4: can your offense stay on the field long enough to
- 38:06Speaker 4: give your defense a little break, because that didn't happen
- 38:09Speaker 4: during all miss and that's why you had some of
- 38:11Speaker 4: those situations where the defense was tired, maybe out there
- 38:16Speaker 4: ninety four percent of the game.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Maybe I'm crazy.
- 38:19Speaker 5: I'm not worried about Diego pave in this game, not
- 38:21Speaker 5: at all, unless you handled him a year ago. Now, look,
- 38:24Speaker 5: each team is different. I understand that you were awful
- 38:28Speaker 5: against running quarterbacks this year. Last year, for the most part,
- 38:30Speaker 5: you've been pretty good at it. You held that Vanderbilt
- 38:33Speaker 5: offense who scored a lot of year ago to twenty one.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I'm watching Cedric Alexander. I don't know if you've watched
- 38:38Speaker 5: him at Tony. He's number twenty eight on Vanderbilt. He's
- 38:41Speaker 5: there running back. He's only he only has fifty carries.
- 38:44Speaker 5: These five touchdowns and fifty carries. That's a good number.
- 38:48Speaker 5: And he's averaging six and a half yards per carry.
- 38:50Speaker 5: Last year he averaged three and a half. He's the
- 38:52Speaker 5: one that broke the long run. I think it was
- 38:54Speaker 5: on Vandy's opening drive against Alabama, the seventy yarder that
- 38:59Speaker 5: was part of the of the.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Film things I wanted to watch. This happened up, Taylor.
- 39:03Speaker 2: This happened last week. Wow, Taylor.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Remember Fuller, the South Carolina running back he broke the
- 39:07Speaker 5: seventy already had some trouble with him in the second
- 39:09Speaker 5: half because you were keying in on Sellars. Yeah, Cedric
- 39:12Speaker 5: Alexander's the guy I'm watch you kean on Pavia.
- 39:15Speaker 3: He could bring it, and I agree with you, Like
- 39:16Speaker 3: I'm not worried about Diego Pavia changing the game by himself,
- 39:21Speaker 3: Like it's not that's not what he does. How he
- 39:23Speaker 3: changes the game is he gives. He brings an extra
- 39:27Speaker 3: element to everything that you do. So he hands it off.
- 39:31Speaker 3: You just can't, like forget the quarterback when you're the
- 39:33Speaker 3: defense you have your eyes always have to be in
- 39:35Speaker 3: two to three places at one time.
- 39:37Speaker 2: You have to be reading.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Through the quarterback, through the line, through the you have
- 39:41Speaker 3: to You just can't take the bait first hand because
- 39:45Speaker 3: what Diego Pavia can do, and he does it well.
- 39:48Speaker 3: He takes what they give you and he just like
- 39:50Speaker 3: I said, like three times death by a thousand cuts,
- 39:54Speaker 3: he's just gonna come. He's gonna gonna keep coming, keep coming,
- 39:57Speaker 3: keep coming. Now he's not gonna he's not this for
- 40:00Speaker 3: or three guy that's gonna break off an eighty yard
- 40:01Speaker 3: run or break fifty tackles like Lenora Sellers can do.
- 40:05Speaker 3: But he's just a guy that is perfect for what
- 40:08Speaker 3: they are trying to do on offense.
- 40:10Speaker 2: And we got a tripod vote here.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Do we think on the way out, do you think
- 40:14Speaker 3: Jake unplugged something sabotages.
- 40:16Speaker 5: Probably, I'll say now I'll give two, So yes he did,
- 40:23Speaker 5: because like I kind of know what's going on and
- 40:25Speaker 5: it just can't be fixed.
- 40:27Speaker 3: I just can't be fixed. Well, maybe maybe next year
- 40:30Speaker 3: we'll get it. All right, we're gonna come back with
- 40:33Speaker 3: a little ass the bench. On our last segment here
- 40:37Speaker 3: by yourself as a Tripod right here, off the bench,
- 40:40Speaker 3: off the bench, all right, all Star Toyoda. If you
- 40:48Speaker 3: are in the market right now, if you are in

- 40:56Speaker 3: around or driving around with one hundred and fifty two
- 40:58Speaker 3: hundred and fifty thousand miles and it's just time for
- 41:00Speaker 3: an upgrade. You want a little better technology from your
- 41:03Speaker 3: car in the insight, you want a bigger screen, you
- 41:05Speaker 3: want that Bluetooth, you wanted to get that HD radio popping,
- 41:09Speaker 3: whatever it is. If you want a new car, whether
- 41:11Speaker 3: it's a brand new, whether it's used, whether it's a
- 41:14Speaker 3: long term lease, right there all Star Toyota dot com.
- 41:18Speaker 3: You can go there see everything on their lot. So
- 41:20Speaker 3: they're conveniently located right there on Airline near Goodwood. But

- 41:27Speaker 3: And oh yeah, you can also check out what your
- 41:30Speaker 3: current vehicle is worth. You can start that trade in
- 41:33Speaker 3: process to see how easy that switch is going to be.
- 41:36Speaker 3: So if you're in the market, go to All Star
- 41:38Speaker 3: Toyota of Baton Rouge dot com. All Star, Toyota.
- 42:01Speaker 6: Closeism, trifize, let's shum.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Blocked in on ULSU football twenty four to seven. You're
- 42:24Speaker 1: listening to off the bench, all.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Right, are good to go?
- 42:30Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 42:30Speaker 2: All right?
- 42:31Speaker 3: I like brought us back in from first rady like
- 42:33Speaker 3: twice right there and the Microsoft We're good.
- 42:37Speaker 2: No, that's on me.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Wow, uh my first technical difficulties without Jake here with
- 42:44Speaker 3: that video, total panic med set man. I think we
- 42:47Speaker 3: think we we we saved ish it talking about Andy.
- 42:52Speaker 5: I thought you were great, good under pressure, good under
- 42:56Speaker 5: pressure of I was like, okay, what're you talking about now?
- 42:58Speaker 2: I can't just like talk film. Oh all right, we're
- 43:02Speaker 2: gonna go to ask the bench.
- 43:03Speaker 3: We got a couple coming in the chat here, so
- 43:05Speaker 3: if you got something and we only got a couple
- 43:07Speaker 3: of minutes, they were to ask this one says ask
- 43:09Speaker 3: QB one. Will Vandy be trying to keep the LSU
- 43:11Speaker 3: defense on the field and wear them down like Ole
- 43:13Speaker 3: missed it to us? Yeah, that'd be a good game plan.
- 43:16Speaker 3: It's kind of hard to implement that because that's what
- 43:18Speaker 3: Ole miss does. That's like they're a fastball type of offense,
- 43:21Speaker 3: like get the line of scrimmage, get as many plays
- 43:23Speaker 3: as you can go, as fast as you can like
- 43:25Speaker 3: they could try to do that maybe for a series
- 43:27Speaker 3: or two, but if it's not like already in their
- 43:30Speaker 3: offensive DNA, it's tough to just go ahead and like
- 43:32Speaker 3: put that fat. And that's what was effective against LSU's
- 43:35Speaker 3: defense was being so fast to the line of scrimage,
- 43:38Speaker 3: you getting the play call in so fast that they
- 43:39Speaker 3: didn't have that opportunity to get some complicated schemes dialed up.
- 43:44Speaker 4: I was gonna say, it doesn't really seem like Vandy
- 43:46Speaker 4: plays a lot of tempo if any.
- 43:49Speaker 2: No, they're they're they're picking poppy down the field.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, uh see ask the bench. Did Flynn just
- 43:56Speaker 3: confirm he'll be on radio next year? So we get
- 43:58Speaker 3: at least two years a full time I'm flustering, like
- 44:01Speaker 3: I signed a lot of time contract I don't know
- 44:03Speaker 3: there's contracts.
- 44:04Speaker 4: And in blood in the body, him and Gordy both
- 44:11Speaker 4: cut themselves and shook hands.
- 44:13Speaker 2: That was the that was in college.
- 44:17Speaker 3: We were dumb, like uh there was uh we would
- 44:19Speaker 3: be you burn brothers with your buddy. Oh no, it
- 44:25Speaker 3: was like you were you know, you're you're having a
- 44:27Speaker 3: couple of de secis and you would sit there and
- 44:29Speaker 3: you put your arms together. Now you were dumb college
- 44:30Speaker 3: kid put your arms together. And if somebody, not me,
- 44:34Speaker 3: somebody was ripping a dark You're just like drop it
- 44:36Speaker 3: in the middle of your arms and smash it. So
- 44:38Speaker 3: you had matching burn scars. Wow, that was terrible. How
- 44:42Speaker 3: dumb is that? Hey, how are you going to take
- 44:43Speaker 3: in the game this weekend? You're going You're going to
- 44:46Speaker 3: Nashville the show Friday and then so you're going to
- 44:50Speaker 3: the game credentials, So you're gonna it's like credentials to
- 44:53Speaker 3: go on the field.
- 44:55Speaker 4: Yeah, beforehand, beforehand, and then I'll go up to the
- 44:57Speaker 4: press box and then we'll see how long I stay.
- 45:01Speaker 4: We'll see how ell is she's doing. It's because you
- 45:04Speaker 4: can't cheerlead. You can't do anything in the press box.
- 45:06Speaker 4: So if I'm getting angry, like I have to leave,
- 45:10Speaker 4: I love Saturday night.
- 45:12Speaker 2: You just done with it.
- 45:14Speaker 4: I just I can't move on.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Yeah I left too, but I had children falling asleep.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Well, I just can't be emotional in there.
- 45:20Speaker 2: So yeah, Tay, how you taking in the game.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Buddy on the couch, dude, same sports watching spot as
- 45:27Speaker 5: every week me too.
- 45:29Speaker 2: I'll tell you what do we even need? Jake? Oh
- 45:33Speaker 2: thanks so oh dead Wade a little.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Bit summer saying hey, we appreciate the time, We appreciate
- 45:38Speaker 3: you joining us today.
