  This is a show about Space Science and Tech and I'm your

  host will Walden. And on this episode we're going

  to be talking about upcoming SpaceX launches.

  Now we know that SpaceX launches starlink satellites every month
• 2:34
  and September is no different. Usually they do two launches a
• 2:38
  month, they've been known to push it to about three launches.
• 2:42
  Per month. But in September, we know that
• 2:44
  there's at least two. We don't know the exact dates of
• 2:48
  these launches, but we know they're coming up.
• 2:50
  And if you're not familiar, what starlink is, well, it's a bunch
• 2:55
  of satellites, 60 satellites per launch that SpaceX launches from
• 3:01
  Florida, on top of a Falcon 9 rocket, they recover that
• 3:05
  booster to the booster lands after they launched the rocket.
• 3:09
  So that's really cool to watch. By the way, we're going to have
• 3:12
  He's launches streaming live on this channel now, the 60
• 3:17
  satellites. That's the important part.
• 3:20
  The satellites will Encompass the Earth and send Broadband,
• 3:26
  high speed internet to rural areas around the globe, and
• 3:31
  there's a beta test going on right now with friends and
• 3:36
  family and workers at SpaceX. But in the near future by the
• 3:40
  end of this year, hopefully we will get Get a beta test with
• 3:45
  regular people, you and me possibly, if you live in the
• 3:48
  Northern United States and Canada.

  So they're already doing tests in l.a.

  Seattle, the Washington area. So they're already out there and

  there's already speed tests out there that show that starlink

  satellites can give you gaming speed internet.

  So that's 100 milliseconds, ping or less, that's really good.

  And there are some tests out there.

  Around fifty two thirty ping, which is really, really good.

  I would be excited to play with those ping times 50 or 30
• 4:22
  milliseconds if I were using Sterling for gaming now.

  When do they launch? We're not exactly sure.

  They haven't released that date yet, but it will be 2 times at
• 4:34
  least in September, but there's something else that's going on a
• 4:38
  September. It's not quite a launched, its
• 4:41
  the N7 cryogenic pressure test. Now we've had some other
• 4:48
  Starship test before that have imploded that if exploded that
• 4:53
  have launched in essence 7 is a pressure test.

  So we may get a bursting sn7 this time around and that's
• 5:02
  going to be happening from Boca Chica in Texas.

  And that's really exciting because Starship is spacex's new
• 5:10
  rocket, and this rocket will be able to Pelle humans and cargo
• 5:15
  to the moon and eventually to Mars.

  And the SN series is a series of test vehicles that their lodging
• 5:25
  for Boca Chica and testing in Boca Chica.

  There's a series of them that will continue to well just to
• 5:32
  say they'll blow up and they'll also launched little by little
• 5:37
  into orbit. Now, they're not close to our.
• 5:40
  We are, they just did 150 meter hop.

  With the sn5 in the sn6 and they were both extremely successful.

  So this is what I'm really excited about October 23rd of

  2020 SpaceX and NASA will team up once again to send,

  astronauts back to the International Space Station

  aboard, a crew Dragon capsule Salon top of a Falcon 9 rocket

  and the last time they did that Bob behnken and Doug Hurley set,
• 6:20
  atop a falcon 9 successfully launched to the space station.

  Docked with the station stayed there for a little while.

  Came back down to Earth unharmed but this time the rocket will be
• 6:35
  launching for people not just two but four people in the crew
• 6:41
  Dragon capsule. So this machine is called the
• 6:44
  crew One mission. This is the first official
• 6:48
  mission for NASA and SpaceX. The demo to Mission was just
• 6:52
  that a demonstration Mission. But on this one, there will be
• 6:54
  four astronauts on board and these astronauts are Michael
• 6:58
  Hopkins, Victor, Glover, Shannon Walker and jaxa, Astronaut Sochi

  noguchi. And this is going to be
• 7:06
  happening October 23rd of this year.

  We're going to be launching from LC 39a from Kennedy Space Center
• 7:13
  in Florida. We're going to have live
• 7:16
  coverage of that the day you have the day before is much
• 7:20
  coverage as you'll ever need about that launch.
