- 3:32Speaker 2: how come our behavior is not matching up with that?
- 3:36Speaker 2: That's why the Bible says iron sharpens iron. So good, healthy,
- 3:42Speaker 2: accountable is good for us. Encouragement. You can post your

- 4:06Speaker 2: you to take that extra step and come and join
- 4:10Speaker 2: our online community. Amen. Now, in our previous episode, we
- 4:23Speaker 2: saw Jeremiah talking. Passed the symbolic cup. It was the
- 4:29Speaker 2: cup of the wine of the judgment of God. And
- 4:34Speaker 2: this time we're not talking about Jerusalem. We're not talking
- 4:38Speaker 2: about Judea. We are talking about the nations of the
- 4:44Speaker 2: entire world. This includes you. And this includes me. So
- 4:50Speaker 2: it's going to get even more serious on today's episode.
- 4:53Speaker 2: God commands the nations to drink from that cup. Warns
- 4:59Speaker 2: them not to drink. If they don't drink, they will
- 5:07Speaker 2: not be able to escape God's judgment. And so there
- 5:14Speaker 2: is going to be a great upheaval that will spread
- 5:17Speaker 2: from nation to nation. Now, if you look back in
- 5:22Speaker 2: our history, we haven't seen anything like this since the
- 5:26Speaker 2: flood of Noah. When God flooded the whole entire earth,
- 5:34Speaker 2: then we saw calamity and upheaval happen from nation to nation.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Since the flood, there's been catastrophes and things like that
- 5:49Speaker 2: throughout history, but it was localized to different parts of
- 5:53Speaker 2: the earth, different nations. And specifically, the nation of Israel
- 6:00Speaker 2: was getting a lot of it. Now, we're going to
- 6:05Speaker 2: see the whole entire earth, all the inhabitants of the world,
- 6:13Speaker 2: are going to experience the judgment of God. And what
- 6:17Speaker 2: are we talking about? Right now, Jeremiah took a time
- 6:22Speaker 2: machine and he came to today. Right? Now, these prophecies
- 6:30Speaker 2: are over probably like 4,000 years, I'm guessing off the
- 6:35Speaker 2: top of my head, because Christ was alive 2,000 years ago.
- 6:44Speaker 2: The captivity of Babylon happened way before Christ came. So anyway,
- 6:55Speaker 2: we could probably Google that. So he's talking about the
- 7:05Speaker 2: book of Revelation. He's talking about what is about to
- 7:09Speaker 2: happen upon planet earth, the time period that we are about.
- 7:15Speaker 2: we are about to step into the doorway of this prophecy.
- 7:21Speaker 2: So we really need to pay attention and take heed.
- 7:26Speaker 2: With that, let's go before Father in prayer. Father, we
- 7:30Speaker 2: thank you for this time. We thank you for this opportunity.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And Father, let us not waste another day. If we
- 7:36Speaker 2: need to get right with you today, then let us
- 7:40Speaker 2: not go to bed tonight Let not our heads hit
- 7:45Speaker 2: the pillow without asking you for forgiveness and without receiving
- 7:50Speaker 2: the Lord Jesus as our Savior, without reaching out, Lord,
- 7:55Speaker 2: to a minister or a pastor or even on the
- 7:58Speaker 2: live chat, reach out to us so that we can
- 8:03Speaker 2: make sure that we are right with you, Lord. For
- 8:05Speaker 2: we know that, Jesus, your return is soon. And now
- 8:10Speaker 2: is not the time to play games. We cannot be
- 8:12Speaker 2: distracted by the things of this world. But help us,
- 8:16Speaker 2: oh God, to be focused upon you and fulfilling the
- 8:20Speaker 2: purposes you've given us on this earth before we leave it.
- 8:26Speaker 2: We ask this in Jesus name. Amen. I love it.
- 8:31Speaker 2: It's about to get deep because now we're looking in
- 8:35Speaker 2: the mirror. We're not talking about Judah. Or Jerusalem, we're
- 8:39Speaker 2: talking about the inhabitants of the entire world. Verse 27. Therefore,
- 8:49Speaker 2: thus thou shalt say to them, thus says the Lord
- 8:53Speaker 2: of hosts, the God of Israel, drink ye and be
- 8:58Speaker 2: drunken and spew. Or in other words, throw up and
- 9:04Speaker 2: vomit and fall. and rise no more because of the sword,
- 9:12Speaker 2: which I will sin among you. Wow. Let's keep reading
- 9:23Speaker 2: verse 28. And it shall be if they refuse to
- 9:28Speaker 2: take the cup that thine hand If they refuse to
- 9:35Speaker 2: take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt
- 9:38Speaker 2: thou say unto them, Thus says the Lord of hosts,
- 9:41Speaker 2: You shall certainly drink. 29 For lo, I began to
- 9:46Speaker 2: bring evil on the city which is called by my name,
- 9:51Speaker 2: and should ye be utterly unpunished. So if he punished
- 9:57Speaker 2: the city that is called by his name, are we
- 10:00Speaker 2: going to escape you shall not be unpunished for I
- 10:04Speaker 2: will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of
- 10:08Speaker 2: the earth says the Lord of hosts verse 30 therefore
- 10:15Speaker 2: prophesy thou again against them all these words and say
- 10:22Speaker 2: to them, Lord shall roar from on high and utter
- 10:27Speaker 2: his voice from his holy habitation. He shall mightily roar
- 10:36Speaker 2: upon his inhabitation. He shall give a shout as they
- 10:45Speaker 2: that tread the grapes Against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31.
- 10:52Speaker 2: A noise shall come. Even to the ends of the earth.
- 10:58Speaker 2: For the Lord has. A controversy with the nations. He
- 11:05Speaker 2: shall plead with all flesh. He. Will give them. That.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Are wicked to the sword. Says the Lord. 32. This
- 11:18Speaker 2: is a Lord of hosts. Behold, evil shall go forth
- 11:22Speaker 2: from nation to nation and a great whirlwind shall be
- 11:26Speaker 2: raised up from the coast of the earth. Now, this
- 11:32Speaker 2: is strong. And I'm coming at you from the old
- 11:37Speaker 2: King James. All right, let's break it down. Verse by verse,
- 11:43Speaker 2: verse 27, the consequences of refusing God's warning. Now here
- 11:50Speaker 2: the cup symbolizes the judgment God has declared. The language
- 11:55Speaker 2: is drunkenness and vomiting and falling portrays the nations being
- 12:02Speaker 2: overwhelmed by the consequences of that judgment. With the sword
- 12:10Speaker 2: representing war and destruction. This is our immediate future. That's
- 12:23Speaker 2: why it's really important to get right with God. God
- 12:30Speaker 2: tells Jeremiah to command. He gives a commandment. Only a
- 12:37Speaker 2: general or a king, someone in authority can give a commandment.
- 12:42Speaker 2: If you've got military background, you know how important it
- 12:46Speaker 2: is to obey a command. So he's commanding the nations
- 12:53Speaker 2: to drink and telling them to become drunk and to
- 12:59Speaker 2: stagger and to fall. This is not an invitation to
- 13:05Speaker 2: have a party, right? To go drink at a party. No,
- 13:09Speaker 2: this is a picture of nations becoming overwhelmed by judgment
- 13:15Speaker 2: until they can no longer stand. If God be for us,
- 13:25Speaker 2: who can be against us? Nobody can stand against the Lord. Amen. Now,
- 13:38Speaker 2: the cup we studied in the previous episode represents the
- 13:43Speaker 2: judgment God has determined to bring upon all the nations.
- 13:50Speaker 2: The sword points to the violence, the devastation that would
- 13:55Speaker 2: accompany that judgment. Think about the violence that we endure
- 14:05Speaker 2: now as a nation. Think about the things we hear
- 14:12Speaker 2: coming out of Chicago. People call it Chirac. The bad
- 14:19Speaker 2: areas of town where the gangs are just running rampant.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Now imagine that multiplied throughout the whole world. The whole
- 14:31Speaker 2: world is gang territory, conflict and war. Think about what
- 14:40Speaker 2: happens when people repeatedly ignore warnings. A person may ignore advice.
- 14:47Speaker 2: about their finances, health, and relationships, or even their conduct.
- 14:53Speaker 2: At first, the consequences may seem distant, but eventually the
- 14:59Speaker 2: choices begin to catch up to them in life. How
- 15:02Speaker 2: many people do we know that this has happened to them?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Israel and the surrounding nations had received warnings through God's
- 15:14Speaker 2: prophets The problem was not that God had failed to speak.
- 15:19Speaker 2: The problem was that people refused to listen to his warnings.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So we too, beloved, must be careful not to assume
- 15:32Speaker 2: that every hardship someone is experiencing a direct punishment from God.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Scripture does not give us permission to make that judgment
- 15:44Speaker 2: about every individual situation. But this passage does teach that
- 15:50Speaker 2: persistent rebellion against God has serious consequences. So here's a lesson.
- 15:58Speaker 2: When God's word corrects us, we should not wait until
- 16:02Speaker 2: the consequences become unavoidable before we respond. Don't be stubborn.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Don't be stiff necked. If you've ever raised teenagers before,
- 16:15Speaker 2: you understand what I'm saying. They get to a point
- 16:20Speaker 2: in life where they feel that they don't have to
- 16:23Speaker 2: listen to their parents. And I tell my children, well,
- 16:27Speaker 2: if you don't listen to me, what makes you think
- 16:30Speaker 2: I need to listen to you? Because they're going to
- 16:33Speaker 2: turn around. They're going to ask for this, that, or
- 16:37Speaker 2: the other. And I think it's only fair, right? Verse 28,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you shall certainly drink. Nations might refuse Jeremiah's message, but
- 16:53Speaker 2: their refusal will not cancel God's declared judgment. Human resistance
- 17:02Speaker 2: cannot overturn the authority of the Lord. And I faced
- 17:08Speaker 2: it before when I'm witnessing this. I've witnessed and spoken
- 17:12Speaker 2: to my coworkers before about the gospel. But one day
- 17:17Speaker 2: they're going to have to face it themselves. God has
- 17:21Speaker 2: given everyone opportunity right now to get it right. But
- 17:27Speaker 2: they'd rather deal with me or they'd rather deal with
- 17:30Speaker 2: the minister while there's hope. Because when they go before God,
- 17:35Speaker 2: it'll be too late to make those corrections. And so
- 17:42Speaker 2: God tells Jeremiah that if the nations, if they refuse
- 17:49Speaker 2: to drink of a cup, then he must tell them
- 17:52Speaker 2: that they will certainly drink. It doesn't matter your attitude.
- 17:56Speaker 2: It doesn't matter your response. We tell our children all
- 18:00Speaker 2: the time, your attitude doesn't matter. So in other words,
- 18:06Speaker 2: rejecting the warning does not make the warning disappear. We
- 18:11Speaker 2: can't just duck our heads in the sand and think
- 18:14Speaker 2: everything will be fine. People sometimes believe that if they
- 18:17Speaker 2: ignore an uncomfortable truth, they can avoid dealing with it.
- 18:24Speaker 2: They avoid difficult conversations. They postpone necessary changes or convince
- 18:34Speaker 2: themselves that accountability will never come. God here is holding
- 18:41Speaker 2: the entire world accountable. But refusing to acknowledge a problem
- 18:50Speaker 2: is not the same as solving it. You're not solving
- 18:53Speaker 2: anything just because you want to postpone or you want
- 19:04Speaker 2: to delay the inevitable, right? In the same principles applies
- 19:13Speaker 2: to our relationship with God. We cannot rewrite his standards
- 19:18Speaker 2: simply because they challenge our preferences. We cannot make his
- 19:25Speaker 2: word untrue by disagreeing with it. And I see it today,
- 19:32Speaker 2: especially in this generation, people want to do their own
- 19:35Speaker 2: things and People want to change their sexual orientation. People
- 19:41Speaker 2: want to steal and cheat. People just want, they think
- 19:45Speaker 2: that they can just live how they want to and
- 19:48Speaker 2: they're not going to be accountable to God. god is
- 19:51Speaker 2: the one who gives the standards god is the one
- 19:54Speaker 2: who calls good good and evil evil at that point
- 19:59Speaker 2: we are making ourselves our own gods you know trust
- 20:04Speaker 2: me that is not going to work out good for
- 20:06Speaker 2: the human race So it doesn't mean that we should
- 20:18Speaker 2: approach people in a harsh way, right? Or use scripture
- 20:21Speaker 2: to threaten them. Jeremiah was delivering a specific prophetic message
- 20:27Speaker 2: from God. Our responsibility today is to communicate scripture faithfully
- 20:33Speaker 2: with humility, wisdom, and with love. You see, beloved, if
- 20:37Speaker 2: we can warn you now, we give you the truth.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And then It is a act of love because now
- 20:46Speaker 2: you can do something about it. The Bible says today
- 20:50Speaker 2: is the day of salvation. Tomorrow is not promised. We
- 20:57Speaker 2: may reject the warnings, but rejection does not erase the
- 21:02Speaker 2: reality of it. Verse 29, judgment begins with the city
- 21:08Speaker 2: called by my name. Now, Jerusalem's special relationship with God
- 21:16Speaker 2: did not guarantee immunity from God's judgment. If the city
- 21:21Speaker 2: associated with his name would be held accountable, the surrounding
- 21:26Speaker 2: nations would not reasonably escape the accountability themselves. They cannot
- 21:38Speaker 2: expect that they will just keep doing their own things
- 21:46Speaker 2: and nothing is going to happen if God judged Jerusalem
- 21:54Speaker 2: and then yes he's going to judge the rest of
- 21:57Speaker 2: the world now this verse contains a sobering question right here.
- 22:12Speaker 2: If God begins judgment with the city called by his name,
- 22:16Speaker 2: why would other nations expect to go unpunished? Jerusalem had
- 22:23Speaker 2: the temple and the history of God's covenant, yet the
- 22:28Speaker 2: people's spiritual privilege did not give them permission to live
- 22:33Speaker 2: in rebellion. This challenges the idea that Religious association automatically
- 22:43Speaker 2: makes a person right with God. I talked to some
- 22:47Speaker 2: people about their soul and about their walk with the
- 22:51Speaker 2: Lord and about Jesus. And some people tell me, oh, well,
- 22:57Speaker 2: my cousin is a minister or my parents were ministers
- 23:00Speaker 2: or my grandfather was a prophet. Okay, that has nothing
- 23:06Speaker 2: to do with you and your relationship with God. You
- 23:10Speaker 2: can't just be associated with somebody and think you're right.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Wearing a cross, attending church, listening to Christian music, serving
- 23:20Speaker 2: in ministry, or even just knowing Bible verses does not
- 23:25Speaker 2: replace a surrendered heart. We need to yield our lives
- 23:32Speaker 2: and surrender our hearts over to the Lord. That means
- 23:35Speaker 2: renewing our mind, renewing the way we think. Lining up
- 23:39Speaker 2: our thoughts with God's thoughts, our actions, our lifestyle is
- 23:45Speaker 2: supposed to reflect our faith. Faith without works is dead.
- 23:53Speaker 2: God cares about what we believe. But genuine faith should
- 23:59Speaker 2: also shape how we live. We should be growing in honesty, compassion, justice, forgiveness,
- 24:08Speaker 2: and obedience, the fruits of the spirit should be dripping
- 24:12Speaker 2: off of us. And the passage also reminds us that
- 24:18Speaker 2: God's standards are not limited to one nation or culture.
- 24:23Speaker 2: The nations, plural, are accountable to him and his people
- 24:30Speaker 2: are accountable to him. So if we represent Christ, our
- 24:36Speaker 2: lives should reflect his character. We should never use our
- 24:41Speaker 2: faith as a shield against correction. Being associated with God's
- 24:48Speaker 2: name is a responsibility, not a license to do whatever
- 24:52Speaker 2: we want. Verse 30, the Lord roars from on high now.
- 25:02Speaker 2: This should give us a healthy fear of God. The
- 25:09Speaker 2: picture of the Lord roaring communicates a powerful and serious
- 25:14Speaker 2: and his prominence. Now, the comparison to treading grapes betrays
- 25:25Speaker 2: judgment as a forceful act against the nations, not a
- 25:30Speaker 2: message to They can simply dismiss. At this point, we
- 25:36Speaker 2: need to look up how people tread grapes. What does
- 25:41Speaker 2: it mean to tread grapes? I know that in ancient times,
- 25:46Speaker 2: they would step on them and crush them right to
- 25:50Speaker 2: where all the juices flowed. And if I'm correct, I'm
- 25:55Speaker 2: not an expert in this, but this is how they
- 25:58Speaker 2: make wine. I believe now what I get out of
- 26:06Speaker 2: this is the judgment of God is going to crush
- 26:10Speaker 2: nations to the point where their blood will be flowing
- 26:15Speaker 2: in the streets. Can you imagine? There's even a picture
- 26:22Speaker 2: where Jesus himself in the book of Revelation said he
- 26:25Speaker 2: came to To tread the grape of the fury of
- 26:29Speaker 2: God's wrath. And that his garments would be full of blood.
- 26:34Speaker 2: And he's going to tread down the nations. This is
- 26:41Speaker 2: nothing to play with, beloved. Please make sure you are
- 26:45Speaker 2: on God's side. Please make sure you're right. This is
- 26:51Speaker 2: where the nations of the world are headed. Jeremiah describes
- 27:00Speaker 2: the Lord roaring from a high, from on high and
- 27:07Speaker 2: speaking from his holy habitation. Now, the picture is powerful
- 27:12Speaker 2: because it presents God as a judge whose voice cannot
- 27:18Speaker 2: be ignored. Now, this verse compares his shout to the
- 27:26Speaker 2: sound of those treading grapes. Like I said, in the
- 27:31Speaker 2: ancient world, grapes were crushed to produce fruit. Here, that
- 27:38Speaker 2: familiar picture becomes a picture of the force of divine judgment.
- 27:47Speaker 2: The nations are about to get crushed like grapes. God
- 27:57Speaker 2: is not portrayed as a powerless or indifferent God. to
- 28:03Speaker 2: the evil taking place in the world. Sometimes people ask
- 28:09Speaker 2: why God allows injustice to continue. Jeremiah reminds us that
- 28:14Speaker 2: God sees what happens and his patience does not mean
- 28:20Speaker 2: he has surrendered his authority at all. However, we should
- 28:27Speaker 2: not assume that we know exactly when or how God
- 28:32Speaker 2: will judge a particular person, government, or even event. Our
- 28:38Speaker 2: calling is to remain faithful to what scripture clearly teaches
- 28:44Speaker 2: rather than make unsupported predictions. We're not supposed to be happy.
- 28:52Speaker 2: We're not supposed to be excited. As a matter of fact,
- 28:57Speaker 2: In previous episodes, we looked at Jeremiah and we saw
- 29:01Speaker 2: that he was a weeping prophet. He prophesied with tears.
- 29:06Speaker 2: His heart was broken over the judgment that God was
- 29:11Speaker 2: about to bring. And so our hearts be broken over
- 29:17Speaker 2: the broken lives that we come in contact with, knowing
- 29:24Speaker 2: what God's word says. To those who refuse to listen,
- 29:28Speaker 2: the Lord's holiness means that evil matters. The Lord God
- 29:34Speaker 2: is a holy God and he hates evil. He hates sin.
- 29:43Speaker 2: so he sees the oppression he sees dishonesty the mistreatment
- 29:51Speaker 2: of the vulnerable all that matters and because these things
- 29:55Speaker 2: matter to God they should matter to us The voice
- 30:01Speaker 2: of God deserves our attention long before the consequences of
- 30:07Speaker 2: disobedience arise. Or should I say arrive, right? So the
- 30:15Speaker 2: voice of God, in other words, studying the word, locking
- 30:20Speaker 2: in every day at 11 o'clock with me right here
- 30:22Speaker 2: on the podcast is a good start. But you need
- 30:25Speaker 2: to study the word for yourself and make a thorough
- 30:29Speaker 2: study of it. Verse 31, God has controversy with the nations.
- 30:38Speaker 2: The Lord's controversy with the nations describe his case against
- 30:44Speaker 2: their wrongdoing. The picture of bringing the wicked to the
- 30:50Speaker 2: sword emphasizes that God's judgment is directed against evil and
- 30:56Speaker 2: that no nation is beyond his authority. Amen. Amen. Accountability
- 31:05Speaker 2: is real. Verse 31 says that the noise will reach
- 31:11Speaker 2: the ends of the earth because the Lord has controversy
- 31:16Speaker 2: with the nations. So KJV uses the phrase, he will
- 31:23Speaker 2: plead with all flesh, describing God bringing his case against humanity.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It's almost like going to court today. God has a problem.
- 31:36Speaker 2: He has an issue with the human race. Outside of Christ,
- 31:40Speaker 2: we're cooked, beloved. Now, as we read this, this should
- 31:47Speaker 2: make us appreciate what the Lord has done for us
- 31:50Speaker 2: even more. Because it's only through Christ we can escape
- 31:54Speaker 2: God's judgment and his wrath here on earth and in
- 31:58Speaker 2: eternal punishment. It looks like you lost another one. This
- 32:03Speaker 2: right here is courtroom language. God is not making an
- 32:08Speaker 2: uninformed accusation. He knows the truth and he is the
- 32:13Speaker 2: righteous judge. The verse ends with a warning that the
- 32:23Speaker 2: wicked will be given to the sword. Now in the
- 32:29Speaker 2: historical context of this points to the coming devastation and
- 32:36Speaker 2: warfare associated with God's announced judgment. But this should make
- 32:44Speaker 2: us think seriously about justice. Human courts can make mistakes.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Powerful people can escape consequences for a time. Victims may
- 32:58Speaker 2: be ignored and wrongdoing may be concealed, but God, right?
- 33:05Speaker 2: But God's judgment is not limited by human influence, wealth,
- 33:11Speaker 2: or even connections. Now, at the same time, we should
- 33:16Speaker 2: not take this verse as permission to seek revenge either.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Scripture calls us to pursue what is right and to
- 33:25Speaker 2: leave ultimate judgment into God's hands. Beloved, nobody is going
- 33:34Speaker 2: to get away with anything. Our responsibility is to live justly,
- 33:40Speaker 2: defend the vulnerable in our society, those who cannot protect themselves.
- 33:47Speaker 2: We need to speak truthfully and refuse to celebrate evil
- 33:52Speaker 2: simply because it happens to someone we don't like. Or
- 33:59Speaker 2: if it happened to someone else, And we think they
- 34:03Speaker 2: deserve it. God's justice should lead us to humility and
- 34:10Speaker 2: not be arrogant about it. Verse 32, a great whirlwind
- 34:17Speaker 2: from the ends of the earth. Now this picture of
- 34:22Speaker 2: evil moving from nation to nation and a great whirlwind
- 34:27Speaker 2: rising from distant regions portrays Why spread turmoil? The prophecy
- 34:37Speaker 2: emphasizes that the coming judgment would affect many peoples, not
- 34:42Speaker 2: merely one city. So Jeremiah closes this section by describing
- 34:50Speaker 2: evil going from nation to nation in a great whirlwind
- 34:54Speaker 2: rising from the coast of the earth. We just had
- 34:58Speaker 2: a hurricane here on the Pacific Ocean California, about a
- 35:04Speaker 2: week or two ago, was flooded. Some of the cities,
- 35:07Speaker 2: not the entire state, but some of the cities on
- 35:10Speaker 2: the coast. This is unheard of, right? I think this
- 35:15Speaker 2: is the first time we had something like this. Usually
- 35:19Speaker 2: it happens from the Atlantic side. But just imagine, I
- 35:27Speaker 2: can just imagine this judgment. overwhelming upheaval just like that
- 35:37Speaker 2: violent storm like the tornado the coming events would spread
- 35:41Speaker 2: across territories and disrupt the lives of many people so
- 35:52Speaker 2: in the immediate context jeremiah is warning of widespread judgment
- 35:57Speaker 2: involving nations and warfare We should first understand the prophecy
- 36:05Speaker 2: in its historical setting rather than automatically assuming every modern
- 36:10Speaker 2: conflict is related to this verse. Nevertheless, the passage contains
- 36:17Speaker 2: a timeless lesson. The consequences of human wrongdoing can spread
- 36:22Speaker 2: far beyond the people who first make destructive choices. A
- 36:31Speaker 2: leader's corruption can damage a whole community. A nation's injustice
- 36:37Speaker 2: can create suffering across borders. One person's dishonesty can break
- 36:43Speaker 2: trust throughout a family or organization. Sin rarely stays neatly contained, right?
- 36:54Speaker 2: But neither should we believe that destruction is the only
- 36:58Speaker 2: possible outcome for people who have done wrong. Scripture also
- 37:02Speaker 2: calls people to repentance and offers hope through God's mercy.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. So when we see
- 37:13Speaker 2: turmoil in the world, we should pray, seek truth. Help
- 37:17Speaker 2: those who are suffering and examine our own lives in
- 37:21Speaker 2: the process. We should not use fear or speculation as
- 37:27Speaker 2: a substitute for faithful living. When the world feels like
- 37:36Speaker 2: a whirlwind, stand firm in God's truth and do not work.
- 37:52Speaker 2: and do the work that God has placed before you.
- 37:58Speaker 2: So the big lesson today, God's warnings are not empty words.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Number one, God's warnings are meant to be taken seriously.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Ignoring the truth does not remove the consequences of our choices.
- 38:16Speaker 2: We cannot ignore God. The choices that we make on
- 38:23Speaker 2: a daily basis, religious privilege does not replace obedience. Jerusalem
- 38:29Speaker 2: was called by God's name, yet it was still accountable
- 38:35Speaker 2: to God. God sees injustice. No ruler, nation, or individual
- 38:42Speaker 2: is beyond his authority. And human wrongdoing has consequences beyond
- 38:49Speaker 2: the individual. Destructive choices can affect families, communities, and an
- 38:56Speaker 2: entire nation. And number five, we should respond with humility,
- 39:03Speaker 2: not speculation or revenge. The passage calls us to take
- 39:10Speaker 2: God seriously, examine ourselves, and leave ultimate judgment in his hands.
- 39:20Speaker 2: So here's a personal challenge. Do not wait for your
- 39:26Speaker 2: life to become a crisis before you take. God's word seriously. Now,
- 39:32Speaker 2: if you know you need to apologize, make the call.
- 39:37Speaker 2: If you need to correct a dishonest practice, take the
- 39:42Speaker 2: first step. If you have been neglecting your time with God,
- 39:49Speaker 2: start today. Now, we cannot control decisions that other people make.
- 39:59Speaker 2: And we cannot solve every problem in the world, but
- 40:05Speaker 2: we can choose to respond faithfully to what God has
- 40:08Speaker 2: shown us right here in this podcast, right here in
- 40:14Speaker 2: this chapter. I mean, why not? humble ourselves before God?
- 40:24Speaker 2: Why not walk before him humbly? We don't know it all.
- 40:28Speaker 2: We don't have it all figured out. And we've been
- 40:32Speaker 2: running our lives up to this point. And what has
- 40:37Speaker 2: that gotten us? Broken relationships. Some of us are addicted
- 40:43Speaker 2: to drugs or alcohol. Some of us have a secret
- 40:46Speaker 2: life addicted to pornography. Can't stay faithful to your wife
- 40:51Speaker 2: or children. God's weight is the best way to live. Amen.
- 40:57Speaker 2: That's how we can truly be blessed. All right, beloved.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 41:05Speaker 7: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 41:09Speaker 7: is the His Hop Radio Show.

- 45:27Speaker 2: the His Hop Radio Podcast. This is verse by verse. Hey,
- 45:34Speaker 2: we had to take you to Africa. That was a
- 45:37Speaker 2: pretty cool cypher right there. It is called Heavenly Outbreak.
- 45:47Speaker 2: The Heavenly Outbreak Cypher. You can look that up. Come on,
- 45:53Speaker 2: stand up. Our brothers in Africa standing up for the Lord.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Let's do this. Amen. And I want to also give
- 46:00Speaker 2: a quick shout out to the live chat. Shout out
- 46:03Speaker 2: to our brother Zone 3. What's up, my brother? Faithfully
- 46:07Speaker 2: chiming in. Our brother, Kareem, who pops in from time
- 46:12Speaker 2: to time. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe we
- 46:14Speaker 2: have a new login today. Hopefully, if you see a
- 46:19Speaker 2: new name in the live chat, we have a new login.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I've been talking to to my brother for the last
- 46:26Speaker 2: couple of days about the podcast and he downloaded the
- 46:30Speaker 2: app and he was looking for the live chat where
- 46:36Speaker 2: we're on here live so if you're on brother we
- 46:39Speaker 2: appreciate you say something set up your profile set up
- 46:42Speaker 2: your pic and meet us here every day at 11
- 46:45Speaker 2: Monday through Saturday so that you can get that spiritual
- 46:49Speaker 2: encouragement my brother speaking of spiritual encouragement Let's jump into
- 46:56Speaker 2: our accountability partner segment. This right here is where we
- 47:01Speaker 2: encourage you to get with a pastor, your pastor or
- 47:07Speaker 2: spiritual leader or someone who is spiritually mature. It could
- 47:11Speaker 2: be your grandfather, grandmother, somebody that's been praying for you
- 47:16Speaker 2: and just have a conversation and we give you some
- 47:19Speaker 2: suggested topics and you could see these in the community
- 47:24Speaker 2: so if you're in a live chat right now head
- 47:28Speaker 2: over to the community so you can follow along and
- 47:34Speaker 2: so this week take time with your accountability partner to
- 47:38Speaker 2: identify one warning sign you've been ignoring in your life
- 47:45Speaker 2: there might be a relationship that needs to be amended
- 47:54Speaker 2: a habit that is pulling you away from God, a
- 47:59Speaker 2: commitment you have neglected or an area where pride keeps
- 48:03Speaker 2: you from accepting correction. And then if you get a
- 48:14Speaker 2: chance to read Jeremiah 25, 27 and 32 together, passage
- 48:17Speaker 2: that we just read together on this podcast and then
- 48:25Speaker 2: Ask each other, what truth have I been avoiding because
- 48:28Speaker 2: it makes me uncomfortable? Or where do I need to
- 48:34Speaker 2: accept responsibility instead of making excuses? These are good questions, right?
- 48:41Speaker 2: What specific action can I take this week to bring
- 48:45Speaker 2: my choices into alignment with God's word? Amen. Go over
- 48:54Speaker 2: these topics and discuss them. The only way that this
- 48:57Speaker 2: works is if we have integrity. We're honest with ourselves.
- 49:01Speaker 2: I believe, I mean, I've lied to other people before,
- 49:04Speaker 2: but I believe the worst lie you can tell is
- 49:08Speaker 2: when you lie to yourself. The Bible says our hearts
- 49:12Speaker 2: are evil and desperately wicked. Who can know it? Do
- 49:15Speaker 2: not put too much stock in your feelings, your emotions,
- 49:19Speaker 2: your opinion. your thought, your point of view. Because you
- 49:28Speaker 2: actually are your worst enemy. Worse than the devil, because
- 49:35Speaker 2: if it wasn't for your prideful heart, the devil would
- 49:39Speaker 2: have nothing to work with. But because of our pride
- 49:43Speaker 2: and our arrogance, the devil can step right in and
- 49:47Speaker 2: stir it up and harden our hearts from God and
- 49:51Speaker 2: his word and his loving correction. So have integrity. Be honest.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Go over these topics. Talk to somebody that is not
- 50:00Speaker 2: just going to tell you what you want to hear,
- 50:03Speaker 2: but somebody that will understand. Somebody that will speak in love,
- 50:08Speaker 2: not somebody that will condemn you and make you feel worse, right?
- 50:11Speaker 2: Somebody who's willing to build you up in the Lord. Amen. Also,
- 50:19Speaker 2: we want to let you know that His Hot Radio
- 50:20Speaker 2: is a monitored and a reporting radio station. We report
- 50:26Speaker 2: to a couple of charts that we are affiliated with.

- 51:05Speaker 2: You want to. If you just want to get the
- 51:08Speaker 2: word out, hit us up. We got something for you.
- 51:14Speaker 2: All right. At this time, like I said, if you're
- 51:17Speaker 2: in the live chat, head over to the community. This
- 51:20Speaker 2: is where we play our games. This is where we
- 51:24Speaker 2: do our social media type stuff. Now it's time for
- 51:30Speaker 2: our trivia challenge. Now, how this works is if you
- 51:35Speaker 2: get get the right question and you answer it correctly
- 51:39Speaker 2: if you're the first one to get it you are
- 51:43Speaker 2: the trivia champion for today and I want to acknowledge
- 51:49Speaker 2: our reigning champ Zone 3 one of the dopest CHH
- 51:55Speaker 2: artists in Vegas he's been holding down the trivia because
- 52:02Speaker 2: we've had other challengers but they fall to the wayside
- 52:06Speaker 2: And our brother stays consistent. But that's cool because he's
- 52:15Speaker 2: growing in his knowledge of the word. Amen. He's growing
- 52:22Speaker 2: in his knowledge of scripture. So that is a great,
- 52:28Speaker 2: as a matter of fact, that is the greatest accomplishment.
- 52:33Speaker 2: All right, let's go over yesterday's question. Yesterday's question was,
- 52:39Speaker 2: which three groups of kings are named together immediately before
- 52:44Speaker 2: Jeremiah mentions the kings of the north? And actually, nobody
- 52:54Speaker 2: got that. Zone three was not able to jump on
- 53:00Speaker 2: the podcast yesterday. So that question is open. Right there.
- 53:06Speaker 2: But today's question is what two sounds or actions are
- 53:11Speaker 2: used to describe the Lord's proclamation against the inhabitants of
- 53:17Speaker 2: the earth? Once again, what two sounds or actions are
- 53:23Speaker 2: used to describe the Lord's proclamation against the inhabitants of
- 53:31Speaker 2: the earth? Like I said, the first one to give
- 53:36Speaker 2: that is the Trivia Champion. Also, it's time for our
- 53:44Speaker 2: community shout out. This is where we give updates of
- 53:47Speaker 2: our activities, what we're doing throughout the community. We have
- 53:50Speaker 2: a business mixer that we will be at November the 3rd.
- 53:55Speaker 2: It is on our calendar on our website. It's off
- 54:00Speaker 2: of Lake Mead over there by the old... Nevada Power building.
- 54:06Speaker 2: I don't know if Nevada Power is still over there.
- 54:09Speaker 2: But it's in the UNLV. Not UNLV, but the Reno campus.
- 54:17Speaker 2: There's a Reno campus over there. We'll do our mixer.
- 54:23Speaker 2: We'll be there next Tuesday, I believe. Is it third?
- 54:29Speaker 2: Also on the seventh, we have another business mixer we're
- 54:32Speaker 2: going to go to. This particular, well, the first one,
- 54:36Speaker 2: we're bringing a podcast. This one, we're bringing a podcast.
- 54:39Speaker 2: And I will be DJing this one. And also, if
- 54:44Speaker 2: you have families that could use some assistance for Christmas,
- 54:49Speaker 2: for the holidays, we will be giving away toys. Sign
- 54:55Speaker 2: up for our Substack newsletter. And we will give you
- 55:02Speaker 2: the Details of where we're going to be the day,
- 55:07Speaker 2: the time. Well, the day is December 19th. We know that.
- 55:10Speaker 2: So we're just working out a venue. We're working out
- 55:13Speaker 2: a time. Well, actually, the time is going to be six.
- 55:18Speaker 2: So we're just working out a venue. So sign up
- 55:20Speaker 2: for our newsletter so that you'll be the first one
- 55:23Speaker 2: to know. You'll get firsthand information about that. Finally, we
- 55:29Speaker 2: want to let you know that His Hop Nation is
- 55:32Speaker 2: a 501c3. We are a public charity. We opened up
- 55:36Speaker 2: a first Christian club in Las Vegas in 2012. Christian
- 55:41Speaker 2: Hip Hop Club, that is. We were able to operate
- 55:46Speaker 2: and run the club for seven years, six and a half, actually.
- 55:50Speaker 2: And it's been a blessing to the community. We've used
- 55:54Speaker 2: it as an outreach. We've had artists come out to minister.
- 55:59Speaker 2: Throughout the years, big names and independent artists came to minister.
- 56:03Speaker 2: You can look us up on the news. We're in
- 56:08Speaker 2: a newspaper. Just look up Club His Hop or just
- 56:10Speaker 2: go to our website, hishopnation.com if you want to learn
- 56:14Speaker 2: more about it. And if you would like to support
- 56:16Speaker 2: the reopen, because we're looking to relaunch and reopen the club,
- 56:21Speaker 2: we just need the space to secure a new building.
- 56:24Speaker 2: We're looking for monthly donors. We're looking for sponsors, supporters,
- 56:29Speaker 2: $ 2 a month, $ 5 a month. Anything helps to sustain
- 56:34Speaker 2: our new building, our new location so that we can relaunch, reopen.
- 56:41Speaker 2: If you would like to donate, go to our website, hishopnation.com
- 56:45Speaker 2: or our nonprofit website, hishopnation.org or you can download the app,
- 56:51Speaker 2: His Hop Radio on all platforms and donate there. And
- 56:56Speaker 2: It is a tax write-off. So sometimes a tax write-off,
- 57:01Speaker 2: having enough things that you can write off can be
- 57:04Speaker 2: the difference between owing taxes and receiving a refund. So yeah,
- 57:11Speaker 2: we did that so you guys can be blessed as
- 57:17Speaker 2: you are sowing into good ground. With that, my time
- 57:22Speaker 2: is up, beloved. Thank you for hanging out with us
- 57:26Speaker 2: once again On the His Hop Radio podcast. Now, you know,
- 57:32Speaker 2: I got to close out with some final remarks, right?
- 57:34Speaker 2: We have heard a serious warning in this episode. The
- 57:38Speaker 2: nations could not escape God's judgment simply by refusing to
- 57:47Speaker 2: listen to Jeremiah, the prophets or his word, right? Jerusalem
- 57:52Speaker 2: was not exempt. Because it was associated with God's name
- 57:57Speaker 2: and the surrounding nations were not exempt because they were
- 58:01Speaker 2: powerful or distant, far away. So the message is not
- 58:11Speaker 2: that we should live in constant fear. The message is
- 58:16Speaker 2: that God's word deserves a response. God's justice is real, beloved,
- 58:27Speaker 2: and his mercy is real. When we recognize that we
- 58:32Speaker 2: have gone in the wrong direction, we should turn back
- 58:36Speaker 2: to him rather than harden our hearts. So take this
- 58:45Speaker 2: passage personally. Do not use it merely to criticize the
- 58:51Speaker 2: world or political leaders or people you disagree with. Ask
- 58:55Speaker 2: the Lord to examine your own heart first. And then
- 59:03Speaker 2: once you do that, then you can go out and
- 59:09Speaker 2: try to. to rescue others that are heading down the
- 59:16Speaker 2: path of destruction. We don't want that. We don't want
- 59:19Speaker 2: to see that. Our hearts need to break, just like
- 59:24Speaker 2: our brother, Prophet Jeremiah. His heart was broken over the states.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Of the nations. In the coming. Judgment. Of God. Amen.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Our next episode. We're going to finish this chapter. Hopefully.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Lord willing. But thank you for spending time with us.
