• 1:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I know there are some of you listening who just got very interested in what I'm about to play.
• 1:34
[SPEAKER_00]: So come with me and follow these three investigators of lamplight investigative services as a new case falls into their lap, pulling them into a tug of war between two cities.

  [SPEAKER_06]: It rains.
• 2:20
  [SPEAKER_06]: It rains.
• 2:21
  [SPEAKER_06]: It always rains.
• 2:22
[SPEAKER_06]: The city covered in a perpetual haze of rain, fog, and light pollution.
• 2:28
[SPEAKER_06]: The neon lights of late nightclubs and flashing advertisements push back the shadows along the streets of Nova.
• 2:36
[SPEAKER_06]: They find their solace and back alleyways and darkened stairwells.
• 2:40
[SPEAKER_06]: under ease and in secret rooms.
• 2:43
[SPEAKER_06]: They flee from the Janty music that can be heard as a door to a nearby bar opens or from the screeching of a racing trolley as it makes one last round for the night.
• 2:54
[SPEAKER_06]: The flashing lights and squealing sirens of enforcers car echo through a street somewhere.
• 3:00
[SPEAKER_06]: The large clock tower light from within displays the late hour of two in the morning.
• 3:08
[SPEAKER_06]: the shadows have to find some place to play.
• 3:12
[SPEAKER_06]: Running from the light, they spiral toward the golden mile, flying across the deck, awaiting the stagnant spotlights that shoot into the sky along its length.
• 3:22
[SPEAKER_06]: They flit under the guardrails and down the piles dropping into the bridge neighborhood of Cipher City.
• 3:30
[SPEAKER_06]: They live in breathe here much more safely than in Nova.
• 3:34
[SPEAKER_06]: The street lamps here flicker more than they glow.
• 3:37
[SPEAKER_06]: The trolley tracks long, forgotten, damaged, twisted in on themselves.
• 3:44
  [SPEAKER_06]: Shadows live here.
• 3:45
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yep, sodium people.
• 3:47
[SPEAKER_06]: Someone stumbles out of a bar with a neon pink sign that reads circus.
• 3:52
[SPEAKER_06]: The S, having broken away and turned upside down.
• 3:56
[SPEAKER_06]: Boots splashing through the puddles that have collected in the broken cobblestone.
• 4:01
[SPEAKER_06]: The rain beats down on a corner building, as it does on all buildings.
• 4:06
[SPEAKER_06]: There is a bright yellow glow from a street lamp that seems to be hanging on better than the rest that creates a circle of golden light across the ground in front of the door.
• 4:16
[SPEAKER_06]: You can see high up near the bulb that some hacking has been done, attaching a contraption that is missing from the surrounding lamps, most likely the cause of its longevity.
• 4:27
[SPEAKER_06]: There's nothing about this building that sticks out.
• 4:30
[SPEAKER_06]: It seems to blend in with the many others on the street.
• 4:33
[SPEAKER_06]: Brick in iron and brass all set together to create the semblance of something sturdy.
• 4:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Though, the facade is easily washed away by further inspection.
• 4:42
[SPEAKER_06]: Aborted up window, the jiggly knob on the front door, the water stains across the interior hallway ceilings.
• 4:50
[SPEAKER_06]: On the third floor, behind a door with a frosted glass window, with golden lettering that reads, lamplight investigative services, a knock rings out, and then again, and then allowed me out.
• 5:07
[SPEAKER_06]: JJ, when you decided to spend the night on the couch as you often do, you did not expect to be so unceremoniously awoken.
• 5:17
[SPEAKER_06]: but you start a wake in the dark room.
• 5:21
[SPEAKER_06]: Atlas, can you describe JJ for us?
• 5:26
[SPEAKER_04]: I think as she hears us, she falls out of bed and there is a five foot three lump of blue trying to jossle out of the blankets.
• 5:36
[SPEAKER_04]: She's in her pajamas, which are just a pair of probably like rainbow striped pants with a drawstring and then a random old ratty t-shirt.
• 5:49
[SPEAKER_04]: Her orange and pink hair is a skew and she's like trying to straighten it and trying to get it around the horns, her two black horns that jut out from her head.
• 5:58
[SPEAKER_04]: And she wipes the sleepy seeds from her green eyes and shhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh
• 6:05
[SPEAKER_04]: one second and I think tries to make herself look nice pulls a robera coat from the coat hook there's another knock uh uh right right there sorry um
• 6:18
[SPEAKER_06]: I think she's trying to look around for the time because maybe she overslept or maybe those persons can a robber she doesn't know I think you can see that though there's not a window in this part of the interior office there is in the smaller office in the back and through that open door you can see that it's still quite dark outside the only light coming through the underneath of the door into the hallway and what and she straightens herself from the
• 6:47
[SPEAKER_06]: A woman stands just outside the door.
• 6:50
[SPEAKER_06]: A long maroon raincoat buttoned up to her neck.
• 6:57
[SPEAKER_06]: She has hairpin curls in her blonde hair, but you can tell that they aren't as set as they should be.
• 7:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Her skin is light blue.
• 7:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Her lips have been painted a bright red.
• 7:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And she is shaking the water off of a black checkered umbrella.
• 7:13
[SPEAKER_06]: The wooden curve handle curled around her black glove tanned.
• 7:17
[SPEAKER_06]: And for a moment, she almost seems to not realize that you have opened the door, as she watches the rainwater drip from the umbrella onto the floor, darkening the carpet.
• 7:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Um, good, more, even, good, good time!
• 7:34
[SPEAKER_04]: But how may I help you?
• 7:36
  [SPEAKER_06]: She kind of startles.
• 7:37
  [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, sorry.
• 7:40
  [SPEAKER_06]: Forgive me.
• 7:42
[SPEAKER_06]: She pears at the lettering on the door.
• 7:45
  [SPEAKER_06]: That's open now.
• 7:46
[SPEAKER_06]: I am in the right place, correct?
• 7:50
  [SPEAKER_04]: That kind of depends.
• 7:51
[SPEAKER_04]: What place are you looking for?
• 7:52
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, it's just... You don't quite look like I thought Mama Emoretta would look.
• 8:00
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no, I'm not, but you are, yes.
• 8:02
[SPEAKER_04]: So she will be here during our normal business hours.
• 8:05
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just here for paperwork.
• 8:09
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yes, certainly, again, forgive me for the hour, but I really must speak with her.
• 8:16
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, come in, come in, oh my gosh, I'm being so sorry.
• 8:18
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm being sober.
• 8:19
[SPEAKER_04]: Please come have a seat.
• 8:20
  [SPEAKER_04]: We could have tea.
• 8:21
[SPEAKER_04]: I do have to plug in our,
• 8:24
[SPEAKER_04]: It's just not, you know, there's a whole team when you open somewhere and you open it and you like put plug in everything and you do this and so if you just give me like 10 minutes I'll be all situated I promise and I think JJ does not wait for an answer she just kind of closes the door behind the person and starts like doing the morning like opens the blinds like plugs in the coffee maker.
• 8:44
[SPEAKER_04]: Um, like turns on the like everything and it's just like, oh, the lights and puts on like a little bow tie just to be like, okay, at least I'm like more presentable And this is all happening in front of this part like talking the mirror just full Okay, you got this you got this nothing shakes nothing shakes us all So you were looking to speak to mommy.
• 9:07
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a red up.
• 9:08
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, please if you have a seat.
• 9:11
  [SPEAKER_04]: It'll be one moment
• 9:12
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, she looks over at the couch that you have not yet made and kind of uncertainly sits on the arm of it.
• 9:21
  [SPEAKER_06]: Just crosses her leg.
• 9:22
[SPEAKER_04]: I think I'll start putting on like a pair of rain boots just one moment stay right here.
• 9:28
[SPEAKER_04]: I will be right back.
• 9:31
  [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, okay, certainly.
• 9:33
  [SPEAKER_06]: Could I?
• 9:35
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so sorry.
• 9:35
[SPEAKER_04]: Could I borrow your umbrella?
• 9:37
[SPEAKER_06]: She looks at you and she says,
• 9:43
[SPEAKER_06]: would it not be swifter to call her?
• 9:46
[SPEAKER_06]: And she points over to the phone that is sitting on the, like, secretarial desk in this room.
• 9:53
  [SPEAKER_04]: There's the thing.
• 9:54
[SPEAKER_04]: So Mama has children at the Mama.
• 9:58
[SPEAKER_04]: I think she'd choose it anyway, but that's not the point.
• 10:01
  [SPEAKER_04]: And it's kind, it's a little bit late.
• 10:03
[SPEAKER_04]: And I just calling it that, like I don't want, you know, to win the whole hat.
• 10:07
[SPEAKER_04]: But it is important, it is urgent, but she holds out her umbrella to you.
• 10:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
• 10:13
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm so fat.
• 10:14
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm the fastest runner that you have ever seen unless you've seen really fast runners.
• 10:18
[SPEAKER_04]: Opens the door, starts just huffing it.
• 10:22
[SPEAKER_06]: You begin your trek in the rain, your rain boots sloshing through the puddles and the cobblestone streets, umbrella kind of whipping in the wind as you dash with it.
• 10:32
[SPEAKER_06]: You're taking yourself over to where you believe mom and mom Emerita is, where she lives her home.
• 10:39
[SPEAKER_06]: It's not too far from the detective agency, a few minutes, especially with the speed that you're taking yourself at.
• 10:46
[SPEAKER_06]: And you knock on the outside door to the home.
• 10:51
[SPEAKER_06]: My mammoretta, where are you?
• 10:54
[SPEAKER_06]: What is your current state of being?
• 10:56
[SPEAKER_08]: So, it's two in the morning in Amrata has some free time.
• 11:02
[SPEAKER_08]: She's probably has spent pretty much the entire night pouring over.
• 11:07
[SPEAKER_08]: What note she has about Dmitry's disappearance and there's just a glass of wine It's probably like barely like a sip left in there and a bottle set out as well She kind of looks a bit tired around the eyes and everything her hair Which is normally up in a bun her dark loose curls that have
• 11:26
[SPEAKER_08]: bits of grain them as she's 50 years old now and she's she looks great for her age But it's starting to show a little bit that her age is catching up with her and she's wearing like kind of like the classic Victorian night gown almost so you know if this was like in the dark somewhere You might mistake her for a ghost perhaps so she here's the knock and she'll she'll get up and stretch her tire legs a little bit
• 11:51
[SPEAKER_08]: and trying crack her, aching back and just going to open up the door, see who's knocking at this hour.
• 11:58
[SPEAKER_06]: As you pull the door open, you see a B-dragled wet even with an umbrella, JJ looking nervous and barely awake and anxious.
• 12:10
  [SPEAKER_08]: Change it, baby.
• 12:11
[SPEAKER_08]: What you doing out all the way out here, so late.
• 12:15
[SPEAKER_04]: Some people could even say that it's early and really I'm just getting a start on the day.
• 12:19
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not, but that could be what is happening.
• 12:22
[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, there's someone at the office and they need to speak with you and I didn't want to call in case I won't get everybody up.
• 12:28
[SPEAKER_04]: But now I'm just realizing that I have to knock off the door anyway.
• 12:30
[SPEAKER_04]: So really I didn't really say anybody that much like grief or time or anything.
• 12:34
[SPEAKER_04]: So, um, I would you mind, um, giving me a ride back to the office and also coming to the office, because there's someone there who's like, I'm JJ, I ain't no problem.
• 12:44
[SPEAKER_08]: But those my kids are brown now, you could just call.
• 12:47
[SPEAKER_08]: They know about it here for me, especially at this hour.
• 12:51
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that is such a true statement.
• 12:54
[SPEAKER_08]: You know what, let me, let me get you a change of pose.
• 12:56
[SPEAKER_08]: You're right, you might catch cold, hold on, really quick.
• 12:59
[SPEAKER_08]: Let's, let's make sure you get draft first, and then I'll get you on a draft back to the office.
• 13:03
[SPEAKER_08]: Promise that we would be very super fast and actually randomly.
• 13:07
[SPEAKER_08]: I'll bring you change of clothes so you can change at the office.
• 13:10
  [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, thank you.
• 13:11
[SPEAKER_08]: She's gonna kinda get dressed a bit quick.
• 13:14
[SPEAKER_08]: She's just gonna kinda throw on the best and first skirt, like over her night, get on one.
• 13:19
  [SPEAKER_08]: Because you know, it's, it's, it's really early.
• 13:23
[SPEAKER_08]: change and for her coat on Gapher came and make sure she goes down to Yara's closet and pulls out some clothes that she knows is JJ's size and she'll just kind of gesture perjading to follow her out to the vehicle and so that they can head back to the office.
• 13:42
[SPEAKER_06]: You climb into the front of this fairly well cut yet old black with brass trim on its car and you start it and it putters to life as you switch on the windshield wipers to rid the windshield of rain and you drive back to the detective agency offices.
• 14:08
[SPEAKER_06]: Joe, what have you been doing this evening?
• 14:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Joanna is in her apartment.
• 14:14
[SPEAKER_09]: She's actually just rolled over in her bed where she is not there alone.
• 14:20
  [SPEAKER_09]: This was fun, yeah?
• 14:22
[SPEAKER_09]: She rolls completely out of the bed and starts to get dressed, takes a dress off of the floor and hands it to the lovely woman that she took home from the circus.
• 14:37
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm getting a quite obvious hint in this moment that we're done here.
• 14:44
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, well, I just, I have a lot of work to do.
• 14:47
[SPEAKER_09]: I actually, there's this coffee machine that I've been trying to fix.
• 14:53
[SPEAKER_09]: I brought it home from work.
• 14:55
[SPEAKER_09]: It's just, it's not really, totally driving me crazy that I can't get just a single decent cup of coffee at the office, you know, I mean, honestly.
• 15:03
[SPEAKER_09]: But would you like a cup?
• 15:04
[SPEAKER_09]: I was just about to try brewing it again.
• 15:09
[SPEAKER_06]: Do you want me to stay in half a cup?
• 15:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Or do you have a lot of work to do and want me to leave?
• 15:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I mean, I could give you a go cup if you wanted.
• 15:22
[SPEAKER_09]: I think I'll pass on the coffee.
• 15:28
[SPEAKER_09]: All right, I mean, she takes a pocket watch out of her trousers that she's just kind of shrugged on.
• 15:35
[SPEAKER_09]: Guess three o'clock in the morning.
• 15:38
[SPEAKER_09]: It's actually quite a good time to start drinking coffee, if you really think about it.
• 15:42
[SPEAKER_09]: Early start to the day, but I understand if you don't want to stick around, um, it's really nice to meet you.
• 15:53
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I guess it was, I think I'm still a little hazy from the drinks.
• 16:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's right.
• 16:02
[SPEAKER_09]: You know, actually, I am going to bring you a cup.
• 16:05
[SPEAKER_09]: And then she goes over to one of the only other furniture pieces in her room, which is a gigantic work table.
• 16:13
[SPEAKER_09]: And it has all sorts of gadgets on it.
• 16:16
[SPEAKER_09]: A lot of them are taken apart, broken, or they're just bits and bobs, pieces of things, coils, gears, lightbulbs, plugs.
• 16:27
  [SPEAKER_09]: And,
• 16:28
[SPEAKER_09]: She takes this sort of amorphous shape out of the center of it, and there is a coffee pot on it.
• 16:35
[SPEAKER_09]: So I guess you can assume that that's the coffee maker and she fiddles with it for a little bit Get some beans out from Somewhere under the table and pours the ground in all right.
• 16:47
[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, so if I did this correctly She presses a button and a terrible Grinding noise occurs Okay water water is is we need that for this pot
• 17:04
[SPEAKER_09]: She runs over to her sink, grab some water in a dirty wine glass, and pours it into the coffee maker.
• 17:14
[SPEAKER_06]: The woman has kind of like started to pull the dress on, but when that sound happens, like, softly covers her ears, and then continues dressing.
• 17:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: Sorry about the noise.
• 17:24
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm really, I'm trying to fix that.
• 17:26
  [SPEAKER_09]: I really, I can't get past it, honestly.
• 17:29
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'm so sorry, genuinely.
• 17:33
  [SPEAKER_09]: Fiona?
• 17:34
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes?
• 17:36
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe, like, breathes aside of relief because that is her actual name.
• 17:40
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm so sorry about that.
• 17:41
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't really have any sugar or anything like that.
• 17:47
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't necessarily know how these gadgets work when they don't look like a normal coffee pod, so I wasn't necessarily certain it was working anyway.
• 18:02
[SPEAKER_09]: I think it is actually she like pears down to look into the coffee pot and there is a liquid in there that is brown.
• 18:12
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe pours this liquid into a mug for Fiona and hands it to her.
• 18:18
  [SPEAKER_09]: He's still in bed.
• 18:21
  [SPEAKER_09]: Here you go.
• 18:22
[SPEAKER_06]: She takes a sip of it and you just see her entire face contoured and like this bitter sour look
• 18:30
[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's not necessarily fully functioning.
• 18:35
  [SPEAKER_09]: Damn.
• 18:36
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm really sorry about that.
• 18:37
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I haven't really quite figured this one out.
• 18:39
[SPEAKER_09]: It seems to be an ancient model.
• 18:42
[SPEAKER_09]: Perhaps I could build something from scratch.
• 18:44
[SPEAKER_09]: I would work with this one better.
• 18:45
[SPEAKER_09]: But thank you for testing it out for me.
• 18:48
  [SPEAKER_06]: I'm glad I could be a service.
• 18:51
[SPEAKER_06]: This woman looks so confused.
• 18:53
  [SPEAKER_06]: It's so early.
• 18:55
[SPEAKER_06]: There was an expectation from her that she would at least get a little bit of sleep and it has been unceremoniously kind of boosted up out of the bed out of the apartment and so she's pulling her shoes on which are heels that are not well fit for the slick stones of the roads but she does at least have an umbrella and she stands up she goes um could you help me and she kind of turns to show you the zipper on the back of the dress.
• 19:24
[SPEAKER_06]: Joe is still tinkering with the coffee maker.
• 19:29
[SPEAKER_09]: She kind of like has to make the decision to abandon it.
• 19:33
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes, that's yeah, absolutely.
• 19:35
  [SPEAKER_09]: Of course.
• 19:36
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes.
• 19:36
[SPEAKER_09]: And she goes over and zips up Fiona's dress.
• 19:42
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I actually have something for you.
• 19:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, okay.
• 19:46
[SPEAKER_09]: She looks under her bed and
• 19:54
[SPEAKER_09]: actually if you would just simply lift your foot and these pieces of metal attach to the bottom of heeled shoes to make them into flat shoes and so she screws them onto Fiona's heels.
• 20:09
  [UNKNOWN]: Oh!
• 20:10
  [SPEAKER_06]: That's kind of ingenious.
• 20:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Have you maybe thought of like branding that?
• 20:16
  [SPEAKER_06]: Branding.
• 20:18
  [SPEAKER_09]: selling them.
• 20:19
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh no, no, no, no, these are gifts for my friends exclusively.
• 20:27
  [SPEAKER_06]: I see.
• 20:29
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I'm sure I will see you around at the circus.
• 20:36
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'll be there.
• 20:37
[SPEAKER_06]: Possibly later, actually, I don't know if they're ever closed to be perfectly honest.
• 20:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: My type of place
• 20:46
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, Fiona, I don't mean to rush you, but I am quite excited to get back to work on making this machine.
• 20:54
[SPEAKER_09]: Something that actually produces drinkable beverage.
• 20:57
  [SPEAKER_09]: So if you don't mind, I,
• 21:02
[SPEAKER_09]: will be um getting back to that.
• 21:05
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you want these back?
• 21:07
  [SPEAKER_09]: No, that for you.
• 21:08
[SPEAKER_09]: I have a whole bunch of them.
• 21:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, thank you for the evening.
• 21:12
[SPEAKER_06]: I'll see you and she walks through the small like kitchen at part of the apartment and out of the front door.
• 21:21
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe does realize halfway through her exit that
• 21:31
[SPEAKER_09]: open the door for Fiona.
• 21:33
[SPEAKER_09]: And then as she passes kind of takes her hand and gently gives it a kiss.
• 21:39
  [SPEAKER_09]: No, thank you.
• 21:40
  [SPEAKER_09]: I had a lovely evening.
• 21:41
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't want you to misconstru me.
• 21:43
  [SPEAKER_09]: I really did.
• 21:45
[SPEAKER_06]: You're a little confusing on that, friend.
• 21:49
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't believe in evening is any less lovely because it's short.
• 21:53
  [SPEAKER_06]: No, that's not what I meant.
• 21:55
[SPEAKER_06]: Good night, and she begins to don't in the hallway.
• 21:59
  [SPEAKER_09]: Good night.
• 22:00
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe kind of like shakes her head.
• 22:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: That was weird.
• 22:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: What a confusing woman.
• 22:06
[SPEAKER_09]: And then goes and looks briefly in like a shiny piece of metal that is like her only mirror to see if like maybe her hair is messed up.
• 22:16
  [SPEAKER_09]: It is.
• 22:17
[SPEAKER_09]: But in kind of a sexy way.
• 22:21
[SPEAKER_09]: Her hair is short, platinum blonde.
• 22:24
[SPEAKER_09]: She has very high cheekbones.
• 22:27
[SPEAKER_09]: She's quite tall, so she has to kind of lean over to look in this small piece of metal.
• 22:33
[SPEAKER_09]: Her eyes are hazel, but they're ringed by dark circles that kind of never go away.
• 22:39
  [SPEAKER_09]: She examines herself.
• 22:41
[SPEAKER_09]: Doesn't really know why Fiona would leave in such a state and goes back to tinkering.
• 22:56
[SPEAKER_06]: Mom, I remember at a you pull the car up against the broken sidewalk outside of the building that houses your investigative services.
• 23:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And you and JJ step out once more into the night rain.
• 23:15
[SPEAKER_04]: She just showed up and knocked on the door, which I'm surprised that I woke up, but I did.
• 23:19
[SPEAKER_04]: And I was only there because we had to finish up paperwork from that other thing that we were doing the other day.
• 23:24
  [SPEAKER_04]: That case.
• 23:31
[SPEAKER_08]: She was gonna go unlock the office and everything.
• 23:33
[SPEAKER_06]: You come into the room and you see this woman.
• 23:40
[SPEAKER_06]: who has discarded her rain jacket, it's hanging up on the little co-cook near the door.
• 23:46
[SPEAKER_06]: And her umbrella seems to be hanging off of it as well.
• 23:49
[SPEAKER_06]: It looks like she has tidied the pillows and blankets that were on the couch to create a sitting space for herself.
• 23:58
[SPEAKER_06]: And it also looks like she'd finished brewing the tea.
• 24:01
[SPEAKER_06]: that JJ had left on before she left.
• 24:05
[SPEAKER_06]: And you open the door and she kind of jumps and turns around with a T-cup in her hand.
• 24:10
[SPEAKER_08]: Mama will just kind of smile and be like, let's see that he fixed her stuff and drank out what he don't mess up, that was here.
• 24:16
[SPEAKER_04]: But oh my gosh, I forgot.
• 24:17
  [SPEAKER_04]: I totally let the T on.
• 24:19
  [SPEAKER_08]: You're a JJ.
• 24:20
[SPEAKER_08]: So Mama, Mama, and it's a pleasure to meet you.
• 24:23
  [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know why, I don't quite know you're naked.
• 24:25
[SPEAKER_06]: I am Rose Weatherby, and I sincerely needed to speak with you.
• 24:34
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, it makes me feel good to enjoy your tea for a moment, and I'll get to talk to you back quick and see what's going on.
• 24:41
[SPEAKER_08]: I just need answers call of course, and she'll go and grab the phone and be like, hello.
• 24:49
[SPEAKER_08]: This is Mom and I'm already speaking.
• 24:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: Mom, it's Joe.
• 24:53
[SPEAKER_09]: I am at the apartment and I brought the coffee maker home.
• 24:56
[SPEAKER_09]: I know I know you told me not to But I just had to get it fixed before the next morning and I did I'm telling you I actually made a cup of coffee that is like Potable What are you doing that?
• 25:09
[SPEAKER_08]: Currently someone just kidding me, and I think
• 25:12
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we're gonna start services at the moment, it's a little bit earthy, but you, you know, we're maybe we're needed But if you want to keep working on that stuff for me, check.
• 25:21
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
• 25:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely.
• 25:23
[SPEAKER_09]: I will be on my way.
• 25:25
[SPEAKER_09]: And I'll bring it with me.
• 25:26
  [SPEAKER_09]: You.
• 25:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, well, I mean, if it's okay, really, it's okay.
• 25:29
  [SPEAKER_09]: Talk to you later.
• 25:30
  [SPEAKER_09]: Bye.
• 25:31
[SPEAKER_08]: All right, so I will just be safe.
• 25:35
[SPEAKER_04]: I think during that phone call, JJ sat down next to the woman and was just like, so actually if you think about it,
• 25:43
[SPEAKER_04]: All doors are just windows that we can't see through.
• 25:48
[SPEAKER_04]: But if you made eyes that could see through them, everything could be a window.
• 25:54
[SPEAKER_04]: You ever think about that?
• 25:56
  [SPEAKER_06]: Um... Hmm.
• 26:00
[SPEAKER_06]: I-I'm not that exactly, no.
• 26:02
  [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
• 26:05
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, uh, thank you for writing this with me, so, as you have been, um,
• 26:11
[SPEAKER_08]: So sorry that you've had the weight as long as you have, but given that it's a bit of a strange time to be visited, may I ask where it went so urgent about your business?
• 26:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Of course, she's like patting out her skirt.
• 26:25
  [SPEAKER_06]: She's crossing her ankles.
• 26:27
[SPEAKER_06]: She must be a little nervous, a little uncomfortable.
• 26:29
[SPEAKER_06]: JJ is sitting on this couch a little closer to her, then she probably should be.
• 26:35
[SPEAKER_06]: She has slowly removed her gloves and places
• 26:39
[SPEAKER_06]: Picks up her tea again and sitting on like a little secretary desk in this public lobby of sorts for your guys' offices is The black hairless cat with the yellow eyes boomy sitting on the desk watching everybody's movement fairly intently So again, my name is Rose Wetterbee
• 27:03
[SPEAKER_06]: I want to apologize for the hour and disturbing you, but I could not get away any sooner.
• 27:09
[SPEAKER_06]: The enforcers were conducting their investigation and we were ordered to stay near in case they had any questions for us.
• 27:15
[SPEAKER_06]: So I was able to sneak away when I did only upon a plea to see a dear friend in my grief and instead I came here to seek your help.
• 27:23
[SPEAKER_06]: I need your help and I can pay.
• 27:25
[SPEAKER_06]: She starts rummaging in this bag at her side.
• 27:27
  [SPEAKER_06]: I can pay handsomely.
• 27:30
[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, me, it isn't my main concern right now.
• 27:32
[SPEAKER_08]: I'll make things through right now is what you saw.
• 27:34
[SPEAKER_08]: What's this about enforcers saying, and keeping witnesses nearby?
• 27:38
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, it's a bit of a long story.
• 27:42
[SPEAKER_06]: Outside, you hear a motorcycle rev on the side of the streets.
• 27:46
[SPEAKER_06]: And there's a bustling that you can hear pretty much all the way up the stairs from the bottom floor to the top is Joe kind of like takes them to at a time.
• 27:56
[SPEAKER_09]: She wears like very heavy boots and is carrying this gigantic coffee maker.
• 28:01
[SPEAKER_09]: And you just hear like a string of curses like on every flight of stairs.
• 28:14
  [SPEAKER_09]: Thank you, J.J.
• 28:17
[SPEAKER_09]: Does anyone fancy a coffee?
• 28:18
[SPEAKER_09]: I think I'm okay with the tea.
• 28:20
  [SPEAKER_09]: Hello?
• 28:23
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think of how the pleasure of making your acquaintance.
• 28:25
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'm Joanna Gilmore.
• 28:29
  [SPEAKER_06]: Um, yes.
• 28:30
  [SPEAKER_06]: Again, I'm Rose Weatherby.
• 28:33
[SPEAKER_06]: For you, Joe, the name rings a bell.
• 28:36
  [SPEAKER_06]: Not Rose, but Weatherby.
• 28:40
[SPEAKER_06]: And as you're trying to place it,
• 28:42
[SPEAKER_06]: The woman says, I apologize to you as well for waking you at this hour.
• 28:49
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I was already awake.
• 28:52
[SPEAKER_09]: She sets down the coffee maker like on to the table on top of some papers and then takes a seat and her helmets like tucked under her arm and she puts it down by her boots.
• 29:06
[SPEAKER_09]: Why does Rose require our services?
• 29:09
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, we were just getting to that business when you happened to walk in.
• 29:13
[SPEAKER_08]: So, uh, right, that is, um, apologies, Ms. Weatherby, if you're by overrun by the company, uh, I was gonna warn you of, uh, another associate of ours coming in.
• 29:24
[SPEAKER_06]: I just, you know, the first rather quick.
• 29:28
[SPEAKER_06]: It's alright, it's been a kind of uncomfortably wild evening as it were, so I might as well continue that way.
• 29:40
[SPEAKER_06]: So, to begin, you probably have heard of my mother, even if just in passing, viola weather be, and
• 29:53
[SPEAKER_06]: I think kind of all of you probably have heard that name, but Joe Morso, and it has been smattered across newspaper articles, educational journals, clockwork theories.
• 30:04
[SPEAKER_06]: She may not have been the most illotted of Artificers in Nova, but she was definitely becoming a household name among those who spend their lives in the world of Gadgetree.
• 30:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Earlier this evening, she kind of hiccups and pauses and you watch as her eyes begin to water and she struggles to compose herself and we're going to get some tissues.
• 30:31
[SPEAKER_06]: She thankfully takes them from you and blots the corner of her eyes a little bit.
• 30:50
[SPEAKER_08]: Sorry, baby, I'm so sorry.
• 30:55
[SPEAKER_08]: Do you want to hug her anything?
• 30:57
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm a fixie with another cup of tea.
• 30:58
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm like a T-shirt and biscuits too, hold on.
• 31:00
  [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like a toast.
• 31:02
[SPEAKER_08]: And like she has a little drawing her desk of like little sweet treats and stuff.
• 31:06
[SPEAKER_08]: Cause you know kids might come in distress too.
• 31:09
[SPEAKER_08]: So she has like sweet treats kind of for people to help them calm down and like get their mind out of the stuff because even if it's like not gonna fix everything, having a little bit of candy helps sometimes.
• 31:20
[SPEAKER_08]: So she's got, like, some little tea, like, biscuits that are perfect for tea, like some shortbread cookies, and she just kind of presents it in front of Miss Weatherby and so she can help herself.
• 31:30
[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you, she takes one of the shortbread cookies.
• 31:33
[SPEAKER_06]: These actually do sometimes calm my nerves.
• 31:37
[SPEAKER_06]: She takes a little bite in the crumbles of it, kind of fall into her dress, and she passed them away.
• 31:42
[SPEAKER_06]: She was in her workshop, working late as she sometimes does.
• 31:48
[SPEAKER_06]: I wasn't there, the details are all conjecture I overheard by, the enforcers' perusing the scene, but I do have evidence to believe that her death was unanticipated collateral, and that whomever it was was not actually after her.
• 32:07
[SPEAKER_06]: I have this, and she pulls out of a fold of her skirt.
• 32:12
[SPEAKER_06]: She pulls a small piece of wrinkled paper.
• 32:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And she hands it out towards you, mama, emirata.
• 32:21
[SPEAKER_06]: And when you take it, you notice that it is dirty and streaked with red that you conclude is most likely blood.
• 32:33
[SPEAKER_08]: Is there anything on that piece of paper or air is it just the dirt in the blood stains?
• 32:38
[SPEAKER_06]: It's folded a little bit and you unfold it.
• 32:40
[SPEAKER_06]: And there isn't much written on it,
• 32:46
  [SPEAKER_06]: they took the.
• 32:48
[SPEAKER_09]: Jo leans over like mama's shoulders to read it.
• 32:52
[SPEAKER_04]: JJ's on the other side.
• 32:54
  [SPEAKER_09]: What do they take?
• 32:56
[SPEAKER_08]: Do you know if anything was missing from the last weather bay?
• 32:59
  [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
• 33:00
  [SPEAKER_06]: I...
• 33:03
[SPEAKER_06]: I wasn't overly interested in my mother's work and if it was something important enough that someone killed for it, then I can only imagine that she would not have told me in the first place.
• 33:16
[SPEAKER_06]: So unfortunately I don't know the contents of her office, so what may have been.
• 33:24
[SPEAKER_08]: You know anyone that would know for sure, like Secretary or something, and it's just super perhaps.
• 33:30
[SPEAKER_06]: She did have an assistant that you may be able to get in touch with, yes, so his name was Arthur Winch.
• 33:42
[SPEAKER_06]: Rose, would you say that you'd trust Arthur?
• 33:46
[SPEAKER_06]: I wouldn't have any reason to not, but again, I didn't know him very well.
• 33:54
[SPEAKER_06]: It's one of those things in hindsight, I wish I spent more time knowing her work and he knew it much better than I did.
• 34:00
[SPEAKER_06]: I knew him by name and by face and we met each other a couple times in passing, but they mostly worked together away from my home, so there was much time for me to run into him often.
• 34:11
[SPEAKER_06]: And how long did they work together for?
• 34:14
[SPEAKER_06]: I think he's been her assistant for a couple years now.
• 34:20
[SPEAKER_06]: I actually want to go back and make a quick roll.
• 34:22
[SPEAKER_06]: I want Mama and Maretta to roll me the emotional support.
• 34:28
[SPEAKER_06]: When you offer someone's support, in a way that could be meaningful to them, roll heart or spirit.
• 34:35
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm just gonna go with heart.
• 34:36
  [SPEAKER_08]: That's what it will be, 11.
• 34:38
[SPEAKER_06]: If they open up to you, they choose one of the following and you either choose one of the following or you take a string on them.
• 34:45
[SPEAKER_06]: So, you can clear condition which we don't yet have, you can mark an XP and experience point.
• 34:51
[SPEAKER_06]: You can take a plus one forward, which means you'll add one to the next role that you make, or you can gain insight from me about an obstacle facing you.
• 35:06
[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, the insight one, I feel like, especially given the circumstances, I guess perhaps like insight into this case, like what obviously like the enforcers being kind of really stressed about this, but like what what obstacles might say in my way, because I recognize the name, but maybe I don't understand the full weight of that name as much as Joe does and so
• 35:31
[SPEAKER_08]: with the, with my out of character understanding of the way of the name, there's what publications might arise from kind of investigating such a public figure's demise.
• 35:44
[SPEAKER_06]: The way that she acts and the way that she carries herself denotes a type of wealth to you.
• 35:53
[SPEAKER_06]: If this is a private laboratory that has already been turned into a scene by the
• 36:02
[SPEAKER_06]: One of the hardest things is going to be able to get your own eyes on the actual scene of the crime in this scenario.
• 36:12
[SPEAKER_06]: So you will most likely have to work around about way.
• 36:16
[SPEAKER_06]: You may have to figure out, for instance, this new person Arthur Winch may be befriends them.
• 36:23
[SPEAKER_06]: You're going to have to work a little bit harder on getting into the actual space this crime has taken place in.
• 36:30
[SPEAKER_06]: In terms of what issues you may have with enforcers on such a high profile case, it will absolutely depend on what you actively choose to investigate.
• 36:43
[SPEAKER_06]: So if you choose to investigate the murder or the theft more seriously, we'll change how hard it is to be in the same vicinity
• 37:00
[SPEAKER_06]: you have in the past known that they don't like it when you step on their territory.
• 37:05
[SPEAKER_08]: I think Mama is of my currently knowing that this was probably a robbery gone wrong.
• 37:11
[SPEAKER_08]: If we find the thief, we're bound to find the killer or at least more links to the killer if nothing else.
• 37:19
[SPEAKER_08]: So, I think the priority is finding out what was stolen and who might have stolen it and why and where they went.
• 37:31
[SPEAKER_06]: He probably, I don't know how much she trusted him with with personal inventions of her own making, a lot of this stuff that I know her assistants usually helped her with were simply like note keeping and garnering supplies.
• 37:51
[SPEAKER_06]: You'd have to again talk to him.
• 37:53
  [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I will.
• 37:56
[SPEAKER_08]: Do you have any contact information for Mr. Minkshed all that they might be able to use?
• 38:02
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't have any on me, but I could probably find it for you.
• 38:08
[SPEAKER_08]: That'd be really much appreciate if you could come back another time with that information as well.
• 38:13
[SPEAKER_08]: That also represent other information from you just to help our investigations as well.
• 38:18
  [SPEAKER_08]: Of course.
• 38:19
[SPEAKER_04]: It's so sorry for your loss, because that...
• 38:23
  [SPEAKER_04]: sucks.
• 38:24
[SPEAKER_04]: I do have a just like a couple of paper like just as like your new client.
• 38:28
[SPEAKER_04]: So it's just like your phone number and our phone number and it'll give you our card and it'll take like one second.
• 38:34
[SPEAKER_08]: It's just to make sure we can maintain context.
• 38:37
[SPEAKER_08]: We see if they have links needed.
• 38:39
[SPEAKER_08]: Although if you prefer something I really don't know or not, it's we can work with that as well.
• 38:45
[SPEAKER_06]: I would like to say that I assume you would understand discretion and I already had to sneak out.
• 38:55
  [SPEAKER_08]: Of course.
• 38:55
[SPEAKER_08]: Is there a mediator that you're comfortable with, perhaps, not you can stand in your stead if you're unable to show up, anyone that you trust is kind of information?
• 39:04
[SPEAKER_06]: The reaction is, may I use your phone and make a call?
• 39:07
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, of course.
• 39:19
  [SPEAKER_09]: Joe's pacing.
• 39:21
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we at least, we need someone's name.
• 39:24
[SPEAKER_04]: I just in the file, and we can have a phone number without her name or we can have her name without her phone number.
• 39:29
  [SPEAKER_04]: I just, that's me, Deary.
• 39:31
[SPEAKER_04]: If they say yes, but I just, if she can, it's just something about the cabinet.
• 39:38
[SPEAKER_04]: JJ's eyes dart to like this polished metal cabinet.
• 39:45
[SPEAKER_09]: I just don't want to get out of order.
• 39:49
[SPEAKER_09]: How visible is the phone from where we are now?
• 39:54
[SPEAKER_09]: Like, can we still see Rose?
• 39:57
[SPEAKER_06]: She's just gone up to the desk.
• 39:58
[SPEAKER_06]: So you've also could still hear her.
• 39:59
[SPEAKER_06]: She's just waiting currently for someone to pick up.
• 40:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Could someone have seen the numbers that she dial?
• 40:05
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think anybody was looking when she did that, so no.
• 40:10
[SPEAKER_06]: But you do hear her go, oh, thank goodness.
• 40:13
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm fine, is that let me speak.
• 40:19
[SPEAKER_06]: No, Zeb, it is not almost morning.
• 40:21
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, for the whole night, I'll explain when I arrive, but can I give this number?
• 40:29
  [SPEAKER_06]: I said, I'll explain.
• 40:33
[SPEAKER_06]: OK, thank you, and yes, through the back, like always, of course.
• 40:37
[SPEAKER_06]: Do a friend that you can use his number.
• 40:42
  [SPEAKER_05]: Friend of Blank.
• 40:45
[SPEAKER_06]: She gives you the number that you can call
• 40:50
[SPEAKER_06]: is this the close friend of yours.
• 40:53
[SPEAKER_06]: Probably one of my closest, it's one of those things where if anybody knows that we're friends but as long as it's not going directly through me but he can be trusted is all I'm wondering.
• 41:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, yes, I simply, I think it has been clear on how I've dealt with this so far that we should keep our relationship as part as possible, I don't think that the rest of my family would enjoy more of an intrusion into their daily lives and has already been presented.
• 41:30
[SPEAKER_06]: And besides in the next few days, we will be busy organizing her memorial and all of that, so I think it would be best to go through somebody else for the time being.
• 41:40
[SPEAKER_08]: It's completely understandable, and there's nothing we can do to support you, or your family, and for his lots.
• 41:46
  [SPEAKER_08]: Let us know, too.
• 41:48
[SPEAKER_06]: I will say that they don't know that I'm asking you this.
• 41:51
  [SPEAKER_06]: The impulses.
• 41:52
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, my family, but also them, I don't have much faith in them, because I think they're going to come at this from the wrong angle, because they have before bloody right, and I just afraid they will again.
• 42:10
  [SPEAKER_04]: and what happened before?
• 42:14
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, they have been a string of thefts, fuzzy stels, bootles, but no one was murdered during those, and they know what was stolen those times, so I fear that they're going to forego the possible connection as to that for murder investigation.
• 42:29
[SPEAKER_08]: And I don't think that's what they should be focused on.
• 42:40
[SPEAKER_08]: and luckily we investigated as a theft.
• 42:43
[SPEAKER_08]: We're not necessarily stepping on and forced or chose.
• 42:49
[SPEAKER_09]: Rose, your mother, she, she was building quite amazing things.
• 42:57
  [SPEAKER_09]: I heard.
• 42:59
[SPEAKER_09]: is her workshop locked up, is it being surveilled?
• 43:06
  [SPEAKER_06]: Is it also safe?
• 43:09
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it wasn't guarded in the sense that there were somebody setting outside the door, but it was in a larger building with other laboratories and equipment and
• 43:19
[SPEAKER_06]: Because safe as any scientist thinks, is it locked currently?
• 43:23
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I don't think it's locked now because they were in there when I left.
• 43:28
  [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
• 43:30
[SPEAKER_06]: She reaches into this little bag that she has and she pulls out a key.
• 43:35
[SPEAKER_06]: You can use this to let yourselves in if you need to.
• 43:39
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe takes the key with reverence and it's not a small amount of excitement.
• 43:49
[SPEAKER_06]: I think that you should see it yourself, but you should wait a little bit.
• 43:58
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sure they'll be there all throughout the day tomorrow, but also don't wait too long because then they will have removed evidence.
• 44:07
  [SPEAKER_08]: We're a little trash.
• 44:09
[SPEAKER_08]: Let's try tomorrow night and see if we can get in that some later hours probably when, you know, most folks are off resting.
• 44:18
[SPEAKER_08]: but you can start poking about and see what was left behind.
• 44:21
[SPEAKER_08]: Hopefully the enforceers haven't moved anything around.
• 44:24
  [SPEAKER_08]: Soon, much.
• 44:26
[SPEAKER_06]: She kind of looks at this little tea cup she has in her hand and takes the last sip and sets it kindly on the desk top.
• 44:35
[SPEAKER_06]: I wish I could tell you what it is you're looking for.
• 44:39
[SPEAKER_06]: But I know if she used her last moment to try to tell us that it shouldn't be in the wrong hands.
• 44:48
[SPEAKER_04]: which when someone approaches you to get something from you or threaten you to choose one and I would like to gain a string on this woman because I don't trust her.
• 44:57
[SPEAKER_06]: I'll say that because you are viewing her as not an enemy necessarily but like not a friend that this can be used that way.
• 45:07
[SPEAKER_06]: Do you require payment upfront?
• 45:10
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, we spend enough costs and we're making off the certain payment plans,
• 45:15
[SPEAKER_08]: But if you prefer to pay for services up front here and now, we are more than happy to accept that.
• 45:22
[SPEAKER_08]: Or if you would like to do a down payment, and then 50 percent now, that's percent once the job is done.
• 45:28
[SPEAKER_04]: These are our most common and JJ will pull out a binder and be so technically, because it's a last minute, you didn't know that something was going to happen.
• 45:37
[SPEAKER_04]: These are the things that we can offer.
• 45:38
[SPEAKER_04]: But if you really want to think about it, this is the most in terms of the bang for your buck.
• 45:43
  [SPEAKER_04]: This is the bang.
• 45:45
[SPEAKER_04]: But it seems like tonight might not be the time for big decisions.
• 45:49
  [SPEAKER_06]: No, it's okay.
• 45:50
  [SPEAKER_06]: I can do 50% now and 50% later.
• 45:53
  [SPEAKER_06]: That sounds good.
• 45:54
  [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent.
• 45:56
[SPEAKER_04]: Pulls out like an old calculator with a paper on it.
• 46:00
[SPEAKER_06]: She pulls out the coins called Otessa that are used as currency in the city.
• 46:15
[SPEAKER_06]: that would equal the 50% amount that you are asking of her.
• 46:19
  [SPEAKER_06]: Excellent.
• 46:19
  [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you very much.
• 46:21
  [SPEAKER_08]: Thanks, Ms. Wrennaby.
• 46:23
[SPEAKER_08]: Do you need any transportation to your next possible location, making drop people off somewhere a few long.
• 46:29
  [SPEAKER_08]: It's like, you know, it's raining.
• 46:31
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm concerned of keeping a little profile.
• 46:36
[SPEAKER_06]: So, not the motorcycle, then.
• 46:37
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that probably would not be a good idea.
• 46:39
[SPEAKER_04]: It is a black motorcycle.
• 46:41
[SPEAKER_04]: It is hard to see.
• 46:43
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I've also never read in a motorcycle and it's raining.
• 46:46
[SPEAKER_09]: It's actually a lot safer than people make them out to be.
• 46:49
[SPEAKER_09]: And she kind of side eyes Mama Emeretta just slightly.
• 46:55
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, until the day you actually crash.
• 46:58
[SPEAKER_04]: Joe's never crashed when I'm on it.
• 47:00
  [SPEAKER_09]: Never.
• 47:01
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, JJ has been on it.
• 47:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Have you crashed when she hasn't been on it?
• 47:07
  [SPEAKER_06]: Have you crashed?
• 47:08
  [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, no!
• 47:09
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe never crashed I don't I I don't think we need to discuss this at this moment But the the car that would be good if you don't mind though the place I am going is Back in Nova City
• 47:27
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a good thing our coffee machine is working.
• 47:32
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's actually true.
• 47:34
[SPEAKER_09]: I did get it to start working.
• 47:36
[SPEAKER_09]: And Joe turns around and does a few little things and presses the button and some liquid does come out.
• 47:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: And it is brown.
• 47:47
[SPEAKER_09]: She kind of pours that liquid into the same teacup that Rose had.
• 47:52
[SPEAKER_09]: And he's like, I could drive her.
• 47:57
[SPEAKER_09]: Perhaps you could review the coffee for me.
• 47:59
  [SPEAKER_08]: That's not even mom's car.
• 48:01
  [SPEAKER_08]: That's her husband's car.
• 48:03
[SPEAKER_08]: She kind of has an expression that just kind of screams.
• 48:08
[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know how to respond to this.
• 48:10
[SPEAKER_08]: She's very much on the fence about whether or not she's okay with it.
• 48:16
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't want to cause any problems.
• 48:17
[SPEAKER_06]: I can make my way.
• 48:18
[SPEAKER_08]: Oh no, no, don't worry, sweetheart.
• 48:22
[SPEAKER_08]: So long this is not a scratch on it.
• 48:27
[SPEAKER_08]: You can drive the car this one time.
• 48:30
  [SPEAKER_08]: Jogorin.
• 48:31
[SPEAKER_08]: And make sure you don't get pulled over because we do need discretion.
• 48:35
  [SPEAKER_08]: Don't drop too fast.
• 48:37
  [SPEAKER_08]: It's raining and it's dark out.
• 48:39
[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, Mom, don't get pulled over.
• 48:42
  [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, Mom.
• 48:44
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe does like one little, like, yes, movement, sort of thing behind Rose's back.
• 48:50
[SPEAKER_09]: And then, um, six or tongue out of JJ.
• 48:52
[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, you just mouths like, I, I was your first.
• 48:56
  [SPEAKER_04]: I, I, I, I.
• 48:56
[SPEAKER_04]: Sticks her tongue out back.
• 48:58
[SPEAKER_06]: Rose begins to pull her gloves back on, slides her jacket up and over her shoulders, leaving it on button this time.
• 49:05
[SPEAKER_06]: And kind of just lets her umbrella hang slack at her side.
• 49:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And she looks back at all of you as Joe kind of comes up next to her
• 49:15
  [SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.
• 49:18
[SPEAKER_06]: I know this is your job, but thank you.
• 49:21
  [SPEAKER_08]: Nursers and other people.
• 49:21
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm always happy to help folks out.
• 49:23
[SPEAKER_08]: And if you meet them in the house or something else happens, do not hesitate to reach out.
• 49:29
[SPEAKER_08]: Let us know soon as we're possible.
• 49:32
  [SPEAKER_06]: She nods.
• 49:33
[SPEAKER_06]: And she turns to follow Joe out of the office of Lamplite Investigative Services.
• 49:52
[SPEAKER_06]: Rose follows you down the stairwell to the outside and you can see that the rain hasn't stopped but it has let up a little bit and you can see the car sitting under the lamp post that you climbed up one day and made work again.
• 50:08
[SPEAKER_09]: Before Rose can even notice that it has left her hand Joe has taken her umbrella, opened it and is holding it out over her head.
• 50:22
  [SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.
• 50:22
[SPEAKER_06]: You kind of steps out the door and you follow along with the umbrella to the cardboard.
• 50:30
[SPEAKER_09]: I unlock the door and open it for her and offer her my hand to step up into the vehicle.
• 50:38
[SPEAKER_06]: She takes it, but you notice it's like not in a way that women usually take your hand when they're like into you.
• 50:47
[SPEAKER_06]: She takes your hand like she's done this a thousand times before that somebody has always offered their hand to her to get into a vehicle.
• 50:57
  [SPEAKER_09]: Thank you.
• 50:58
  [SPEAKER_06]: You'll welcome.
• 51:00
[SPEAKER_09]: and Joe close the door and kind of like kicks her heels together a little bit as she walks to the other side of the car because if there is one thing that Joanna Gilmore knows it is a rich bitch and she knows that this woman has a lot of money and is very used to money.
• 51:21
[SPEAKER_09]: She gets in the car, starts it and it makes kind of a
• 51:29
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe always listens to the noises the gadgets make when they start up.
• 51:33
[SPEAKER_09]: She runs her hand kind of over some exposed dials that tell.
• 51:39
[SPEAKER_09]: of the gas, the oil, et cetera, the other things that make the car run.
• 51:43
  [SPEAKER_09]: Just admiring the machinery.
• 51:46
[SPEAKER_06]: You hear a chuckle in the seat next to you, and she's kind of like pressed her hands a little nervously into her thighs, but it's kind of like regarding you out of the corner of her eye.
• 51:57
  [SPEAKER_06]: There's something amusing you.
• 51:58
[SPEAKER_06]: It's just kind of funny how you can spot a person who likes to
• 52:09
[SPEAKER_06]: I like to know how things work.
• 52:12
[SPEAKER_06]: I grew up around that a lot.
• 52:14
  [SPEAKER_09]: Did you?
• 52:15
  [SPEAKER_09]: Well, obviously.
• 52:18
[SPEAKER_09]: Did you inherit any of it?
• 52:20
  [SPEAKER_06]: Hmm.
• 52:21
[SPEAKER_06]: It was never for me.
• 52:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: Take some things apart.
• 52:24
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah?
• 52:25
  [SPEAKER_06]: Not really.
• 52:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Something I was ever interested in.
• 52:28
[SPEAKER_06]: More of a surface girl, perhaps.
• 52:33
[SPEAKER_06]: I think that's some sort of description.
• 52:37
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, towards Nova then, yes, and if you get us across the bridge, I can direct you further.
• 52:42
  [SPEAKER_09]: Right, oh.
• 52:44
[SPEAKER_09]: And Joe... Can't help but it's tiny little smirk.
• 52:49
[SPEAKER_09]: As she starts to drive the car and direction in the bridge.
• 53:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Joe immediately turns that off.
• 53:14
[SPEAKER_06]: She doesn't comment on the change.
• 53:18
[SPEAKER_06]: She kind of just stares out the windshield and watches the rain go as you go by looking at the streets of Cipher that there doesn't seem to be a lot of organization too if you're not from there.
• 53:29
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe kind of nods her head and grows his direction without taking her eyes off of the road.
• 53:38
[SPEAKER_09]: My apologies, I am not a fan of background noise.
• 53:43
[SPEAKER_09]: In perfectly fine with not listening to anything.
• 53:48
[SPEAKER_09]: So, have you been here before?
• 53:52
  [SPEAKER_06]: I... Um...
• 53:54
  [SPEAKER_06]: Sorry, um...
• 53:56
  [SPEAKER_06]: Does that funny?
• 53:57
  [SPEAKER_05]: No.
• 53:59
[SPEAKER_06]: It's funny because it's not usually something someone would ask me.
• 54:03
  [SPEAKER_06]: Because you're a no-fucker.
• 54:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Because I think I quite obviously don't fit in here.
• 54:12
  [SPEAKER_09]: You're not wrong.
• 54:16
[SPEAKER_09]: But there's many reasons why people like you might come over the bridge or under it.
• 54:25
  [SPEAKER_09]: But you've never had a reason.
• 54:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Until now, I am sorry about your mother.
• 54:32
[SPEAKER_09]: They are complicated creatures, aren't they not?
• 54:37
[SPEAKER_06]: You seem to have the right adjective for everything.
• 54:43
[SPEAKER_09]: I enjoy words as much as you enjoy gadgets.
• 54:51
[SPEAKER_09]: Not quite, but I did quite well in school and the gadgets were my own passion.
• 54:59
[SPEAKER_09]: The words came from education.
• 55:02
[SPEAKER_06]: Other than, let me describe your offices as odd.
• 55:10
  [SPEAKER_06]: Hmm.
• 55:12
[SPEAKER_06]: I just don't think it's what I expected when I was told to come here.
• 55:15
[SPEAKER_06]: How was it described to you?
• 55:17
[SPEAKER_06]: What words did they use?
• 55:20
  [SPEAKER_06]: There wasn't really a description.
• 55:21
[SPEAKER_06]: It was a name and a place.
• 55:23
[SPEAKER_06]: It was just not what I had made up in my head.
• 55:26
  [SPEAKER_06]: It's good to know.
• 55:29
[SPEAKER_09]: And how would you describe what you imagined?
• 55:34
  [SPEAKER_09]: Darker?
• 55:35
  [SPEAKER_09]: Hmm.
• 55:37
[SPEAKER_09]: One person who didn't talk a lot?
• 55:42
[SPEAKER_09]: Right, so you met JJ first?
• 55:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes.
• 55:46
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
• 55:47
  [SPEAKER_06]: Well, whirlwind of them.
• 55:50
[SPEAKER_06]: And not gonna door, though.
• 55:51
  [SPEAKER_06]: I can't really.
• 55:55
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think she was seeing a sheep in the door vigorously rubbing her eyes and the dark in her pajamas.
• 56:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, and does a good word for JJ, actually.
• 56:14
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe wonders for a moment if JJ only stays up all night when Joe is also there.
• 56:24
[SPEAKER_09]: Because in her mind, both of them never sleep, and that's why she assumed that JJ would be awake, and this kind of makes her reconsider for a moment.
• 56:37
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I suppose everyone needs to get that rest on occasion.
• 56:41
  [SPEAKER_09]: But...
• 56:43
[SPEAKER_09]: Tell me who sent you to us, a friend, and she kind of smirks, your close friend, not zeb, no, just a friend, right?
• 57:00
[SPEAKER_09]: I suppose you all allowed some mysteries.
• 57:03
[SPEAKER_06]: One that doesn't pertain to whatever student investigate, I think, is appropriate.
• 57:09
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, darling, Joe puts only one arm on the wheel and sort of, like, turns towards rows.
• 57:16
[SPEAKER_09]: Unfortunately, what you will learn is that everything will have to do with the investigation.
• 57:24
[SPEAKER_09]: Once something like this happens, your whole life could be a thread
• 57:32
[SPEAKER_09]: everything starts to see more of a web than you ever had imagined before, and she turns back to the road.
• 57:41
[SPEAKER_06]: You drive through the bridge and out of it actually to get to the entrance of the Golden Mile.
• 57:50
  [SPEAKER_06]: It's an open road.
• 57:51
[SPEAKER_06]: There aren't any guards for it.
• 57:53
[SPEAKER_06]: It is free movement between the cities of
• 58:00
  [SPEAKER_06]: of traffic that way.
• 58:02
[SPEAKER_06]: So you're the lone car in the road currently and you pull up onto the bridge and begin a bit of an ascent out of Cypher because there's a there's a bit of a rise Cypher is lower placed in the earth than Nova is about halfway across bridge she goes just out of blue.
• 58:24
[SPEAKER_06]: I suppose I'm an orphan now though
• 58:31
  [SPEAKER_09]: Isn't that interesting?
• 58:32
[SPEAKER_09]: We always imagine orphans as tiny little boys with empty bowls, but could happen to all of us.
• 58:41
[SPEAKER_09]: And honestly, if life goes as planned, we all end up orphans, don't we?
• 58:48
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'm sorry.
• 58:48
[SPEAKER_06]: How did you lose your father?
• 58:52
[SPEAKER_06]: He died a few years ago, medical issues, nothing.
• 58:57
[SPEAKER_06]: He often said that our mother was the interesting one out of the two of them.
• 59:02
  [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
• 59:03
[SPEAKER_06]: She left this world the same way I suppose.
• 59:08
  [SPEAKER_06]: With intrigue.
• 59:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Again, Rose, I'm going to tell you that everything has intrigue, but I'm glad that your father died in a more peaceful manner.
• 59:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: Nobody deserves.
• 59:25
[SPEAKER_09]: Nobody deserves what happened to your mother.
• 59:28
[SPEAKER_09]: I want to assure you that we will do everything in our power to find out what happened to happen.
• 59:36
[SPEAKER_06]: As I've paid you I hope that's the case, but we shall see if you can.
• 59:43
[SPEAKER_06]: It's less of a let's just say I have faith that you'll try and I hope for my self-infant
• 1:00:00
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe kind of knits her at brows together.
• 1:00:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: We will.
• 1:00:05
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's what we do.
• 1:00:07
  [SPEAKER_09]: My Tia'sk.
• 1:00:10
[SPEAKER_09]: She sort of thinks for a moment.
• 1:00:13
  [SPEAKER_09]: Is there anything else?
• 1:00:17
[SPEAKER_09]: Anything you can think of that might not have seemed important.
• 1:00:22
[SPEAKER_09]: anything that your mother mentioned that she was working on.
• 1:00:26
[SPEAKER_09]: I know you said you weren't privy to her machinations, but was there anything an overarching goal that she was working towards something big for lack of a better word?
• 1:00:43
[SPEAKER_06]: I mostly didn't hear about anything she was working on
• 1:00:51
  [SPEAKER_06]: to the Republic.
• 1:00:53
[SPEAKER_06]: I think in the last few months, she has seen more excited than usual, but I never asked her because it wasn't something we ever talked about.
• 1:01:06
[SPEAKER_09]: Jo kind of looks out of her own window.
• 1:01:08
  [SPEAKER_09]: Never.
• 1:01:14
  [SPEAKER_09]: What a shame.
• 1:01:15
  [SPEAKER_09]: I agree.
• 1:01:22
  [SPEAKER_09]: of course.
• 1:01:30
[SPEAKER_06]: And she directs you off of the Golden Mile and to the more eastern part of Nova, until you get to a street that she asked you to turn down.
• 1:01:41
[SPEAKER_06]: She directs you down the street called Tula Hagen and up to the back of like a rounded
• 1:01:50
[SPEAKER_06]: And what's interesting is it's not that the streets in Cypher City aren't named.
• 1:01:56
[SPEAKER_06]: It's that it doesn't usually matter, you just know how to get around.
• 1:02:00
[SPEAKER_06]: The streets here, they have these kind of beautiful, gilded signs.
• 1:02:07
[SPEAKER_06]: that have the name printed on them.
• 1:02:09
[SPEAKER_06]: So it almost catches you by surprise that you even clock with the name of the street was as you turn down it.
• 1:02:15
[SPEAKER_06]: But you start off outside this home, it seems.
• 1:02:22
[SPEAKER_06]: And she says, Zeb is a good friend.
• 1:02:27
[SPEAKER_06]: They're a bit of a riot at times, where in many ways opposites,
• 1:02:35
[SPEAKER_06]: any message you get to them will get back to me.
• 1:02:38
[SPEAKER_06]: I would love to meet them.
• 1:02:41
[SPEAKER_06]: Adore the back of this building.
• 1:02:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Pontius open into the dark night and you see like silhouetted by a light from above is this like tall like gangly individual with short
• 1:03:03
[SPEAKER_06]: long tusks that like sit on the outside of his lips.
• 1:03:07
[SPEAKER_06]: And he has on this like kind of larger linen shirt that's opened a few buttons at the top that is not tucked into pretty like baggy linen pants as well.
• 1:03:20
  [SPEAKER_06]: And no shoes on.
• 1:03:22
[SPEAKER_06]: You see that there are like rings all over this person's fingers.
• 1:03:27
[SPEAKER_06]: They look out and they kind of like narrow their eyes into the dark and the cross their arms.
• 1:03:32
[SPEAKER_06]: This weight in the doorway.
• 1:03:35
  [SPEAKER_06]: Well, that's him.
• 1:03:38
[SPEAKER_06]: I guess you should meet so he knows who he's talking to.
• 1:03:41
[SPEAKER_06]: He don't mind getting a little wet again.
• 1:03:45
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe has already gone around to the side of the car.
• 1:03:47
[SPEAKER_09]: His opening rose his door, offering her hand has the umbrella open once again.
• 1:03:54
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm truly excited to make his acquaintance.
• 1:03:57
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, then she kind of strips the door as you walk away.
• 1:04:02
[SPEAKER_06]: You walk up and as you do, he kind of like rolls his shoulders back and changes weight on his feet.
• 1:04:09
  [SPEAKER_09]: Hello.
• 1:04:11
  [SPEAKER_09]: Zed?
• 1:04:11
  [SPEAKER_09]: Is it?
• 1:04:15
[SPEAKER_06]: looks at you, looks it rose, said I would explain, this is Joe Anna, Joe Anna Gilmour, very nice to meet you, he puts his hand out, grass ears, does the test of like your integrity by how good your hand shake is.
• 1:04:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Joana also wears a handful of rings and so when they shake hands their rings clacked together and he holds it and then turns it over and looks at all of your rings and then lets it go across his arms and he goes nice to meet you likewise I think oh well
• 1:05:05
[SPEAKER_09]: So Rose told me that you are going to be our point of contact for her during this.
• 1:05:12
[SPEAKER_09]: investigation which I'm sure during what yes exactly yes rose I was hoping that you had informed our dear friend a little bit more than you had but I didn't want to do it over the phone obvious that you have a lot on your mind so perhaps we go indoors and are you inviting yourself into my house so that's what's happening right now
• 1:05:40
[SPEAKER_09]: I am, yes, that is what I am doing.
• 1:05:42
[SPEAKER_06]: All right, at least you're honest about it.
• 1:05:44
[SPEAKER_06]: I am nothing if not forthcoming.
• 1:05:47
[SPEAKER_06]: If you like a two finger okay, like just like a wave like yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.
• 1:05:52
[SPEAKER_06]: As you guys go inside.
• 1:05:54
[SPEAKER_08]: As soon as the door closed, JJ would turn, I don't trust her.
• 1:06:10
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, she mentioned that there were break-ins, and that is why she thought that it was a break-in, and not a murder, but didn't she say that she didn't know if anything was missing?
• 1:06:22
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
• 1:06:23
[SPEAKER_01]: I think she specified she didn't know what specifically was missing.
• 1:06:29
[SPEAKER_01]: If she's not interested, I'd have a doubt she knew what the hell was in there, but we can also reach out to this art of fella.
• 1:06:35
[SPEAKER_01]: And if his story doesn't align with what she was saying, we have more reason to be suspicious, but I think for now.
• 1:06:42
  [SPEAKER_04]: Why was she there?
• 1:06:43
[SPEAKER_04]: She's not close with her mother.
• 1:06:45
[SPEAKER_04]: She's not interested at all in her work.
• 1:06:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Why was she even there to be held by the enforcers in the first place?
• 1:06:49
[SPEAKER_04]: And also, she's from Nova.
• 1:06:51
[SPEAKER_04]: Why does someone from Nova not trust the enforcers?
• 1:06:54
[SPEAKER_08]: I think it is a bit, uh, given that this is a...
• 1:06:59
  [SPEAKER_08]: have profile in visual.
• 1:07:02
[SPEAKER_08]: We have a reason to be suspicious for right now.
• 1:07:04
[SPEAKER_08]: I don't think we have much to act on that suspicion beyond investigating until you're in control to investigate and seen whether or not you know JJ that you're red or whether or not we figure something else out and see that Rose was speaking from the heart.
• 1:07:20
[SPEAKER_04]: She gave me bad feeling and I ran too.
• 1:07:25
  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't run for
• 1:07:27
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I mean, I'm not necessarily down in your station.
• 1:07:30
[SPEAKER_08]: You pose a lot of good points, JJ, but I mean, still, this is a person helping.
• 1:07:36
[SPEAKER_08]: We can look into whether or not these properties have an happening, up and over.
• 1:07:41
[SPEAKER_08]: If that was a lot, somehow, then that makes the most suspicious, but it's robber's happen happening.
• 1:07:48
[SPEAKER_08]: There are, you know, unfortunate times where robbery can get.
• 1:07:55
[SPEAKER_08]: way more violent than any party expected.
• 1:07:58
[SPEAKER_08]: So we can't rule out that possibility either.
• 1:08:00
[SPEAKER_04]: If you're rich and trying to get rid of your even richer mother, and there's a bunch of robberies happening around you, and you kill your mother, trying to frame it as a robbery, if the enforcers are investigating it as a murder, or not as a robbery, then that throws your entire, I guess, alibi out of the window,
• 1:08:21
[SPEAKER_04]: So, who would you go to?
• 1:08:22
[SPEAKER_04]: Not the enforcers because they always would already believe it's a murder.
• 1:08:25
[SPEAKER_04]: Also, would you ever let me drive your car?
• 1:08:30
  [SPEAKER_08]: JJ, I mean, heave.
• 1:08:33
[SPEAKER_08]: I'll let you drive it if maybe next time, I'm in the fast and you see I already feel awkward but I haven't drove it.
• 1:08:41
  [SPEAKER_08]: Deal.
• 1:08:43
[SPEAKER_06]: Boomi jumps off the desk onto the floor and like slings over to the couch
• 1:08:51
[SPEAKER_06]: lick up the crumbs from the sure bread cookie that rose had brushed off of her skirt onto the floor.
• 1:08:57
  [SPEAKER_05]: That's not good.
• 1:08:58
  [SPEAKER_05]: Oh god.
• 1:09:00
[SPEAKER_04]: And I would argue that Boomi did thought that the vides were off too.
• 1:09:05
[SPEAKER_07]: But we did do things that were off.
• 1:09:07
  [SPEAKER_06]: See?
• 1:09:08
[SPEAKER_06]: Jumped up onto the back of the couch and kind of crawls up like to lay behind where JJ is sitting.
• 1:09:14
[SPEAKER_08]: Now, I'm not doubly JJ, Amber, and I was going to start cleaning up the shortcut keys and like the TJL hopup and help.
• 1:09:22
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not doubting your suspicions, JJ, but either way, if we want to confirm whether or not we're being seen because we have to still investigate it.
• 1:09:32
[SPEAKER_08]: Very least, Arthur and Steve, what he has to say about the most situation considered.
• 1:09:36
[SPEAKER_08]: He probably knows more about it, and, well, we couldn't talk to storm foresters about it, although I'm not.
• 1:09:46
[SPEAKER_08]: Particularly thought and the session I did is, you know, discretion was advised here.
• 1:09:54
[SPEAKER_08]: But I understand your suspicions, and I'm not too keen on getting framed for murder either.
• 1:10:01
  [SPEAKER_08]: That's what's going on.
• 1:10:03
[SPEAKER_04]: I agree though, as usual, you're your business, you know, a lot about it.
• 1:10:12
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, well, you know, you gotta learn stuff quick in my situation.
• 1:10:17
[SPEAKER_08]: Still don't know everything about what we need to know.
• 1:10:19
  [SPEAKER_04]: We'll learn it though.
• 1:10:21
  [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, hope so.
• 1:10:23
[SPEAKER_08]: But I think in the meantime, we should probably be looking at this string of thefts and seeing if there is a connection, if, but other gadgets, particularly more for being stolen at the Nova, or if this is totally unrelated, and then also planning for tomorrow.
• 1:10:40
[SPEAKER_08]: That's the next situation is where I think is important for us to be working on.
• 1:10:45
[SPEAKER_08]: I know it's early, but not as well if it started on the day since we're not going
• 1:10:51
[SPEAKER_08]: You want me to fix you some breakfast by the way?
• 1:10:53
[SPEAKER_08]: I can just go open and get some.
• 1:10:55
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm actually, I think you're absolutely right.
• 1:10:58
[SPEAKER_04]: It has been a very exciting morning.
• 1:11:01
[SPEAKER_04]: And to be quite honest, after the coffee that Joe made, I don't think I'll ever sleep again.
• 1:11:05
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not sure if that's a good thing, Jay.
• 1:11:08
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll get a head start, maybe all.
• 1:11:10
  [SPEAKER_04]: Ooh, I can head to Izzy's.
• 1:11:11
[SPEAKER_04]: They might know something about robberies.
• 1:11:13
[SPEAKER_04]: Not because they're doing the robberies.
• 1:11:15
  [SPEAKER_04]: You know that.
• 1:11:16
  [SPEAKER_04]: Tara, you know.
• 1:11:17
[SPEAKER_08]: That might be good to look and see.
• 1:11:20
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, let's go round and see what people have heard.
• 1:11:23
  [SPEAKER_04]: Word on the street.
• 1:11:25
[SPEAKER_04]: And I think JJ's halfway on with the rubber boot and then looks down, hasn't changed out of her pajamas.
• 1:11:33
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna... And she'll look at the... pulled out bed and walks over to start pulling it up.
• 1:11:41
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna go... home to change.
• 1:11:47
[SPEAKER_08]: I already have, I already have clothes that I've brought.
• 1:11:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
• 1:11:50
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have any clothes in the office.
• 1:11:54
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not as lucky as I was going to come, but she knows exactly where JJ's clothes are in the office.
• 1:11:59
[SPEAKER_06]: In the back of this office, so we have seen the lobby portion of this, but in the back, Mama Amarada has a smaller, like personal office, where she'll sometimes take clients from her private meetings.
• 1:12:13
[SPEAKER_06]: As a desk, if you find cabinets, there's a window in the back.
• 1:12:17
[SPEAKER_08]: I want to see if there's any public records on Arthur and Viola and what they had most recently been working on or like what they had might have been hinting towards either both of them because both of them would have more than likely had that information on hand so any public statements like that.
• 1:12:35
[SPEAKER_06]: I think in one of the cabinets, she keeps a collection of newspapers that have come out and that she has collected, and so I think you take some time in these early hours of this morning to kind of sift through them, especially if someone's going through any archives or anything that we have, Jade is going to be right on it.
• 1:13:00
[SPEAKER_06]: You come upon a couple articles.
• 1:13:03
[SPEAKER_06]: One of them was talking about, like, a grant that the weather bees had created for the students of Arcadia.
• 1:13:15
[SPEAKER_06]: One of them was about an unveiling of a specific project, but not actually about the project itself.
• 1:13:23
[SPEAKER_06]: You come across an article then in a subsequent paper about what was called a Hydro-Rhibited Cartridge and it seems to be some sort of upgraded part that is used in the creation of inserting this part into a machine means that it will run on
• 1:13:51
[SPEAKER_06]: boiling water rather than needing to be connected to like a larger steam engine so it's for smaller gadgets to make them more efficient and usable in a home.
• 1:14:05
[SPEAKER_06]: but that seemed to be like a pretty massive.
• 1:14:07
[SPEAKER_06]: For something so small, seemed to have a lot of fanfare about it.
• 1:14:11
[SPEAKER_06]: So whether there are more implications of it, this article doesn't necessarily say.
• 1:14:17
[SPEAKER_06]: And then you come across an article about some sort of symposium that has yet to happen, but that Viola Weatherby was supposed to be a main speaker at.
• 1:14:32
[SPEAKER_06]: with some sort of new technology that she had been seemingly working many, many a year upon.
• 1:14:40
[SPEAKER_06]: And that everybody was fairly excited to see what she had in the works.
• 1:14:49
[SPEAKER_08]: So that might be the first thread I'm around.
• 1:14:52
[SPEAKER_08]: I might really look into is the symposium.
• 1:14:54
[SPEAKER_08]: What was why you were going to speak about?
• 1:14:57
[SPEAKER_08]: Was there any one thing in a university?
• 1:14:58
[SPEAKER_08]: You can do for a fact, which she was going to speak about or was that pretty much kind of, oh, she's going to reveal it at this beach and even then, like, I feel like they might have some information on when that speech was going to happen.
• 1:15:11
[SPEAKER_08]: And like what they were expecting at that speech because there's something you should need to be improved in all of that jazz.
• 1:15:19
[SPEAKER_06]: While, JJ you're helping, you find a couple things too, but more along the lines of the name instead of, like, actual viola, but more of the name of weather B, you find in a obituary for a man named Lemuel weather B.
• 1:15:34
[SPEAKER_06]: The obituary reads something along the lines of the loved husband of known inventor, viola weather B, and the loved father of rose and delio weather B.
• 1:15:48
[SPEAKER_06]: has unexpectedly passed due to a malfunction of his heart.
• 1:15:58
[SPEAKER_06]: You have kept an organized newspapers for like a fairly ridiculous amount of time.
• 1:16:05
[SPEAKER_06]: You find one from like about a decade ago.
• 1:16:10
[SPEAKER_06]: talking about the coming of age of one rose, whether it be, and like introduction into society and marital options.
• 1:16:19
[SPEAKER_06]: There's nothing specific in the sense of like
• 1:16:23
[SPEAKER_06]: She's absolutely going to marry these people, but you see last names of people who seem to be coming up in the same year or a couple years prior of Love Grove.
• 1:16:36
[SPEAKER_06]: Is one of the names you see?
• 1:16:37
[SPEAKER_06]: Boodle is one of the names that you see, and luck with an E at the end.
• 1:16:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Mama did Rose mention that she had a sibling?
• 1:16:55
[SPEAKER_04]: it in the obituary for her father one it says malfunction of the heart which sketchy two mentions a dealia as one of at least one of her father's children so then I guess you will just have to ask her as well dealia but I'm how dealia is taking all of this gauge in that reaction or we could talk to dealia first
• 1:17:21
[SPEAKER_08]: It's also very true that we need to figure out where Deli is, and if she's willing to talk.
• 1:17:27
[SPEAKER_08]: Because remember, Rose mentioned that she didn't let any of her other family know about this, so that might compensate things.
• 1:17:36
[SPEAKER_04]: But if we were hired by somebody to investigate the robberies, that's fair.
• 1:17:43
[SPEAKER_04]: Then we don't have to drop names, and I mean she might tell us to take a hike, but she might tell us to take a hike if we're investigating her mom's murder.
• 1:17:51
[SPEAKER_08]: And let me tell him he can also, if we can, in the contact with her, we can see his possible, trying to ask the random about those robberies and see what's the take-in or if anything's been taken at all, and that robbery story was just a cover-up.
• 1:18:06
[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think about function of the heart means?
• 1:18:09
[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I imagine a couple of locations with the horror, maybe there was like, I might have to ask one of my brothers about that.
• 1:18:18
[SPEAKER_08]: He might know a bit more than I do, I imagine it's just like a heart attack that can get fixed or something, but it could also have been like some machine parts that were stuck in there.
• 1:18:26
  [SPEAKER_08]: I don't really know that's possible.
• 1:18:28
[SPEAKER_04]: I haven't read every newspaper that we have, but sometimes when Joe's over, there's nothing to do, I've per bruised and I've seen complications, I've seen heart attack, I've seen malfunction.
• 1:18:44
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I'll read you out to my brother and Tony open it up.
• 1:18:48
[SPEAKER_08]: See what he knows about, malfunction specifically.
• 1:18:52
[SPEAKER_04]: I hope Joe isn't out all night.
• 1:18:57
[SPEAKER_08]: Just hope I get the car back and, um, pop shape, please.
• 1:19:00
  [SPEAKER_08]: I'm sure it's going to happen.
• 1:19:02
  [SPEAKER_08]: It is Joe.
• 1:19:04
[SPEAKER_08]: Is definitely responsible with things like ours.
• 1:19:08
  [SPEAKER_08]: She better be, please.
• 1:19:18
[SPEAKER_06]: This seems like a structure that somebody would live in.
• 1:19:20
[SPEAKER_06]: You felt like you were in like a neighborhood type of area when you pulled in.
• 1:19:25
[SPEAKER_06]: But it feels like you're walking down a utility hallway, but pushes open a metal door at the end of it.
• 1:19:34
  [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
• 1:19:35
[SPEAKER_06]: It's early in the morning.
• 1:19:37
  [SPEAKER_06]: Just be quiet.
• 1:19:39
  [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
• 1:19:40
  [SPEAKER_06]: Just be quiet.
• 1:19:42
  [SPEAKER_09]: People sleep.
• 1:19:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: Of course, but I'm
• 1:19:46
[SPEAKER_09]: Just for my research on which people are we not trying to wake my borders, okay?
• 1:19:54
  [SPEAKER_09]: You have borders here.
• 1:19:58
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you two background checks on your borders?
• 1:20:03
  [SPEAKER_09]: Your poshi.
• 1:20:05
  [SPEAKER_09]: I apologize.
• 1:20:06
[SPEAKER_09]: We just have sort of a sensitive situation here.
• 1:20:11
[SPEAKER_10]: I understand so be quiet until we can talk
• 1:20:17
[SPEAKER_06]: He opens the door out of this utility hallway and you enter into this massive kitchen.
• 1:20:26
[SPEAKER_06]: There seems to be like multiple ofens, multiple stoves, like a massive countertop in the center of it, pans and appliances just hanging.
• 1:20:37
[SPEAKER_06]: from the ceiling to be used already seemingly polished, they kind of glint in the light from this hallway.
• 1:20:44
[SPEAKER_06]: But the interior of the kitchen is mostly dark, and he leads you through that over to the left, down another corridor and opens in doorway.
• 1:20:55
[SPEAKER_06]: and there are a narrow set of stairs going down and he begins down them and rose follows after and kind of leaves you at the top to make your choice.
• 1:21:06
[SPEAKER_09]: She puts her hand unconsciously on the dagger that she keeps on her hip feeling a little uncertain of going in such closed quarters, but then she follows them.
• 1:21:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Zebrae's the end of the series first.
• 1:21:30
[SPEAKER_06]: There's a light at the end of the stairs that is like this old.
• 1:21:33
[SPEAKER_06]: It gives off an old warm glow and you can take here a buzzing as it's turned on like it's not quite connected as well as it should be.
• 1:21:42
[SPEAKER_06]: You get to the bottom and you see open in front of you this like beautifully furnished lounge area.
• 1:21:49
[SPEAKER_06]: There is this magnificently maroon plush couch.
• 1:21:55
[SPEAKER_06]: laid out the edges of which are like gilded in like a gold-painted metal of some sort.
• 1:22:04
[SPEAKER_06]: There is this ornate glass table with a couple chairs set out.
• 1:22:09
[SPEAKER_06]: You step down onto it from the stairwell and your boot like it was into the carpet deep like it's so thick and rich and Zeb
• 1:22:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Like, kind of flips himself onto the couch and just sprawls out and rose.
• 1:22:23
[SPEAKER_06]: Once again, like, you watch her kind of go through the process in reverse of removing her jacket before she stands.
• 1:22:30
[SPEAKER_06]: She doesn't sit, she stands.
• 1:22:32
[SPEAKER_06]: Looking as uncomfortable, she's been this whole night behind one of the chairs with her hands resting on the top of it.
• 1:22:48
[SPEAKER_09]: and sees the mud has gotten on the carpet.
• 1:22:52
[SPEAKER_09]: She kind of looks up.
• 1:22:55
[SPEAKER_06]: I've seen you cop it.
• 1:22:58
  [SPEAKER_06]: It's fine, don't worry about it.
• 1:22:59
[SPEAKER_06]: And it will be cleaned by him.
• 1:23:03
  [SPEAKER_06]: Roger.
• 1:23:05
[SPEAKER_09]: Joke strides over to a very ornate chair.
• 1:23:11
[SPEAKER_09]: and locks into it in a very like open casual pose.
• 1:23:17
[SPEAKER_09]: You don't clean your own carpets, Zep.
• 1:23:21
[SPEAKER_06]: No, because I've got Roger.
• 1:23:24
[SPEAKER_09]: If you want to see him, perhaps at a later time, I was just telling Rose that in an investigation of this sort, every single detail becomes important.
• 1:23:39
[SPEAKER_06]: All right, so that means you want to meet Roger, cool.
• 1:23:41
[SPEAKER_06]: He grabs out of a drawer, this like little remote control, presses a purple button on it.
• 1:23:49
[SPEAKER_06]: and a door flips down in the back of this room.
• 1:23:52
[SPEAKER_06]: It is probably about three feet high.
• 1:23:55
[SPEAKER_06]: It is like a rounded hole, metal cap thing, and it sits up on like a square box, and it has arms in the sense of metal contraptions that stick out from the side of it with different implements on the ends of them, and it begins to make its way across the carpet.
• 1:24:13
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe immediately like springs to her feet and kind of creeps towards it but doesn't like stays out of its way so that she can just watch how it moves.
• 1:24:24
[SPEAKER_09]: and gets as close as she can and observes themselves.
• 1:24:28
[SPEAKER_09]: I am delighted to meet Raja.
• 1:24:31
[SPEAKER_06]: Most people are, did Viola build him?
• 1:24:37
[SPEAKER_06]: I doubt she built this specific model.
• 1:24:40
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sure some of the parts she created were used in its production, but yes, you can see here actually
• 1:24:49
[SPEAKER_09]: The medals, they don't match.
• 1:24:52
[SPEAKER_09]: You can see the line where it's been welded.
• 1:24:56
[SPEAKER_09]: She added on this little, it almost looks like a viewfinder, but perhaps it helps it find his way.
• 1:25:05
  [SPEAKER_06]: It's a delightful addition.
• 1:25:09
[SPEAKER_06]: Roger doesn't tend to run into things, so I'm sure this model was made with that in minds.
• 1:25:17
[SPEAKER_06]: She created something like that, didn't she, Rose?
• 1:25:20
[SPEAKER_06]: At some point, I think she did create something that is used in optometry a lot of the time.
• 1:25:27
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know how it works, maybe it can be used on machinery too, I wouldn't know.
• 1:25:32
[SPEAKER_09]: Zab, do you know anything about this invention?
• 1:25:36
  [SPEAKER_09]: Anything more?
• 1:25:37
[SPEAKER_06]: I do not know anything about how it works except that it cleans my carpet.
• 1:25:42
  [SPEAKER_09]: All right.
• 1:25:43
  [SPEAKER_09]: Fair enough.
• 1:25:46
[SPEAKER_09]: Are you going to keep Rose safe?
• 1:25:49
  [SPEAKER_05]: Usually do.
• 1:25:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: Do you?
• 1:25:52
[SPEAKER_09]: She sends a wicked look over to Rose.
• 1:25:57
[SPEAKER_09]: Is that your normal position?
• 1:26:02
[SPEAKER_06]: No, no, she's my friend and I like my friends being safe.
• 1:26:05
  [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
• 1:26:07
[SPEAKER_06]: Of course, do you not like your friends being safe?
• 1:26:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe sort of like leans towards him, puts her hand like on the back of a couch and says, I make sure that my friends are safe, personally.
• 1:26:23
  [SPEAKER_05]: Cool, very cool.
• 1:26:27
[SPEAKER_09]: Zep, I would love to know your relation to Rose.
• 1:26:32
  [SPEAKER_09]: Truly.
• 1:26:33
  [SPEAKER_06]: How did you meet?
• 1:26:36
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, uh, yeah, I think I was like eight years old, and I pushed her off a swing.
• 1:26:41
  [SPEAKER_06]: Childhood friends.
• 1:26:44
  [SPEAKER_06]: Indeed.
• 1:26:45
[SPEAKER_06]: And you grew up around Viola as well.
• 1:26:48
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I grew up around her in the sense that she was Rose's mom.
• 1:26:54
[SPEAKER_06]: Do you like become best friends with your friends parents?
• 1:26:58
  [SPEAKER_06]: Is that your thing?
• 1:26:58
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm trying to figure it out.
• 1:27:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: No, I wouldn't say that.
• 1:27:04
[SPEAKER_09]: I actually never met any of my friends' parents.
• 1:27:06
[SPEAKER_09]: We all went to school together, but away from our parents.
• 1:27:11
  [SPEAKER_09]: Good God, you're dark.
• 1:27:14
[SPEAKER_06]: In Rose kind of queer to throw and says, said, has he always been like this?
• 1:27:22
  [SPEAKER_06]: Abrasive?
• 1:27:23
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
• 1:27:25
  [SPEAKER_06]: Annoying?
• 1:27:25
  [SPEAKER_06]: Quite.
• 1:27:26
  [SPEAKER_06]: As conquestions, you shouldn't.
• 1:27:30
[SPEAKER_09]: Ah, I see now you are comparing us to each other, I did not get it until this point, you were saying.
• 1:27:40
  [SPEAKER_06]: Zep, coincidentally enough.
• 1:27:44
  [SPEAKER_06]: My mother is dead.
• 1:27:52
[SPEAKER_06]: Zeb like has been lounging just so relaxed and like very slowly moves his arms and legs and like sits back up on the couch and just stairs at rows for a length of time that's odd.
• 1:28:09
[SPEAKER_06]: and then like in a sudden rush of movement he gets up and just grabs her into his arms and like sets his chin on top of her head because he's much taller than she is.
• 1:28:20
[SPEAKER_06]: Just like holds her super tight and you watch like her arms like kind of hang-lip for a moment and then like crush and do his back and grab his shirt and kind of crankle up between her fingers.
• 1:28:33
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe notes all of this but
• 1:28:37
[SPEAKER_09]: doesn't speak for a while, until eventually the hug goes on for so long.
• 1:28:46
[SPEAKER_09]: She clears her throat and like scratches the back of her short hair.
• 1:28:54
[SPEAKER_09]: Um, I do apologize I was under the assumption that you already knew.
• 1:28:58
[SPEAKER_06]: He like releases a bit so she can step out of his grasp.
• 1:29:04
[SPEAKER_06]: I didn't really have any time to explain why I needed to come here this evening.
• 1:29:08
  [SPEAKER_06]: Shoe wipes are cheap.
• 1:29:10
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes, you're completely right.
• 1:29:12
[SPEAKER_09]: Ah, that would be... Again, I apologize.
• 1:29:16
[SPEAKER_09]: Um, for my... lack of sensitivity.
• 1:29:20
[SPEAKER_09]: But you understand now, Zep, why?
• 1:29:24
[SPEAKER_09]: You must keep Rose safe.
• 1:29:28
  [SPEAKER_06]: So who are you?
• 1:29:28
  [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, besides Joanna Gilmore.
• 1:29:35
[SPEAKER_06]: from Lablite, Patsy of Hedavas, he gives a sideways glance to Rose that seems to say something to her that you can't quite get and it looks back to you.
• 1:29:50
[SPEAKER_06]: If you don't really look like an investigator.
• 1:29:56
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe glances down at her outfit, which is a very open button down.
• 1:30:02
[SPEAKER_09]: Many necklaces, trousers, and the aforementioned boots.
• 1:30:10
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry, were you expecting a uniform?
• 1:30:13
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't really know what an investigator looks like if they're not an enforcer, but I just, I don't know for some reason I was expecting a hat.
• 1:30:21
  [SPEAKER_06]: I would never wear a hat.
• 1:30:27
[SPEAKER_06]: I do hope you will be helpful in this investigation.
• 1:30:33
[SPEAKER_09]: Don't want, I mean, honestly, anything that we ask of you.
• 1:30:38
[SPEAKER_06]: That's a pretty high, to pretty high ask.
• 1:30:42
[SPEAKER_09]: I have questions that I will need to ask you.
• 1:30:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'm a fairy, I'm a fairy min of information, right?
• 1:30:48
[SPEAKER_09]: Yes, but you may also be holding information that you may not be aware that you're holding.
• 1:30:59
  [SPEAKER_06]: He'll stars you for a minute.
• 1:31:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, give me a second.
• 1:31:02
[SPEAKER_06]: And he goes over to like a dresser set and pulls open you here to tinkling and clinking any.
• 1:31:10
[SPEAKER_06]: pulls out a fairly small like probably between the size of like a normal tumbler and a shock glass and he sets it up and he turns around and he's like doing absolutely, pulls out another one and then pulls out this liquid that looks almost cherry red in color and pours about a finger of it in each glass and then
• 1:31:35
[SPEAKER_06]: pulls out a bottle that is green.
• 1:31:38
[SPEAKER_06]: You can't see it's obviously a dark liquid inside, but it's like a green bottle and then he pours that into on top.
• 1:31:44
[SPEAKER_06]: And you see it like swirl almost like a smoke begins to rise out of it.
• 1:31:49
[SPEAKER_06]: And as he handed over to you, it is like a fiery orange red of color now.
• 1:31:55
[SPEAKER_06]: Since we're in a chat, we should have a drink.
• 1:31:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: It's gorgeous.
• 1:31:59
[SPEAKER_09]: She takes the drink out of his hand
• 1:32:03
[SPEAKER_09]: and lightly stirs it with her pinky, allowing some of the liquid to get onto the ring that is there, and she waits a moment or two before slightly glancing down to see if the color of the stone changes.
• 1:32:21
[SPEAKER_09]: This is a gadget that Joe has hacked to detect traces of common poisons, and it does not change.
• 1:32:33
[SPEAKER_06]: Finally, Rose sits down and kind of just fiddles her hands within themselves.
• 1:32:40
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, dear, do you want something?
• 1:32:41
  [SPEAKER_06]: No, I find.
• 1:32:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Are you too secretly married or something?
• 1:32:46
[SPEAKER_09]: No, no, that would be wild.
• 1:32:51
[SPEAKER_09]: Jo's drinks slowly from the glass.
• 1:32:55
[SPEAKER_09]: There's just a sort of intensity to your relationship.
• 1:33:02
  [SPEAKER_06]: Rose just doesn't drink.
• 1:33:04
[SPEAKER_06]: So I wanted to know if she wanted something else to drink and she doesn't.
• 1:33:09
[SPEAKER_09]: Jo like glances between the two of them with her eyebrow raised.
• 1:33:14
[SPEAKER_09]: doesn't quite believe it's very hard for Jo to imagine like to attractive people who are close to each other that don't have a romantic relationship going on on some level so she's very suspicious of them all right so what have you sat me down to tell me what I thought you had questions to ask me so I sat you down so you could ask them
• 1:33:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, all right, if I must, what type of investigator?
• 1:33:42
[SPEAKER_09]: If I must be the one to push the conversation, why don't know what you need to know anything that you think might be useful is that anything you know brain that you find useful.
• 1:33:54
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I think a lot of things are useful.
• 1:33:56
[SPEAKER_06]: I think I know how to keep books.
• 1:33:57
[SPEAKER_06]: I think I know how to socialize with, I know a lot of shit, like what do you mean?
• 1:34:01
[SPEAKER_06]: You got to be more specific.
• 1:34:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Joe glances over at Rose.
• 1:34:05
  [SPEAKER_06]: Do you see this?
• 1:34:07
[SPEAKER_06]: Um, I mean, granted you did ask me questions when we were back at your office.
• 1:34:14
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, yes.
• 1:34:17
[SPEAKER_09]: Jay Jay and Mama Emerita are there.
• 1:34:23
[SPEAKER_09]: protocols are a bit more standard than mine.
• 1:34:27
[SPEAKER_09]: So I shall ask you.
• 1:34:29
[SPEAKER_09]: Zeb, where were you when this was occurring, which was, and she sort of, like, gestures to rows to fill in that information.
• 1:34:41
  [SPEAKER_09]: When this happened, tonight?
• 1:34:43
  [SPEAKER_09]: Approximately what time?
• 1:34:45
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, it was about 11pm.
• 1:34:47
[SPEAKER_06]: It said, why were you at 11pm?
• 1:34:49
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, you're not going to like my answer, I don't think.
• 1:34:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Was it alone at home?
• 1:34:54
[SPEAKER_06]: Who is right here as a matter of fact?
• 1:34:56
  [SPEAKER_09]: Hmm, wonderful.
• 1:34:59
[SPEAKER_09]: She pulls like this tiny waterlogged note pad out of her boot and a pen from somewhere.
• 1:35:09
[SPEAKER_09]: If you were to read what she was writing, it's just a zeb-suspicious question mark.
• 1:35:17
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, you're right, I don't like that answer, but if that is the truth, then we shall continue.
• 1:35:24
[SPEAKER_06]: If you like the fact that I wasn't trying to come up with an alibi, it should be like a plus towards me.
• 1:35:32
[SPEAKER_09]: I will note the pluses and minuses here.
• 1:35:35
[SPEAKER_09]: I will be the judge.
• 1:35:37
[SPEAKER_09]: of the pluses and the minuses.
• 1:35:40
  [SPEAKER_09]: Are you finished?
• 1:35:42
[SPEAKER_09]: He makes a zipping his lips motion.
• 1:35:46
[SPEAKER_09]: You do want to find the person who did this, correct?
• 1:35:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: Why are you hesitating?
• 1:35:52
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, because, like, technically you want to find him, and I want him to be found, are you really going to argue semantics?
• 1:36:03
[SPEAKER_06]: You're just so easy to frustrate.
• 1:36:07
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe down the rest of her drink, and then just flicks the glass, like slides across the table towards him.
• 1:36:15
[SPEAKER_06]: As you do that, it leaves like a streak and he snaps his fingers.
• 1:36:19
  [SPEAKER_06]: Roger?
• 1:36:25
[SPEAKER_06]: Joe tries really hard not to look at Roger when he comes over, as he comes over, there's like a compartment on the side of the dome that slides open and one of the appendages reaches in and pulls out a rag and then wipes the table with it and then discards it back inside and it closes.
• 1:36:45
[SPEAKER_09]: That's really cool and Joe definitely watches that happen and kind of
• 1:36:54
[SPEAKER_09]: Is that, do you know of anyone who would want to kill Rose's mother?
• 1:37:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: Like, you need names?
• 1:37:03
[SPEAKER_09]: Names would be useful, yes, if you thought of anyone.
• 1:37:06
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, well, I don't got any of those.
• 1:37:08
[SPEAKER_09]: I would like to remind you that this is...
• 1:37:13
[SPEAKER_09]: real and serious and that this is the mother of your trusted friend who I would imagine you had some love in your heartful.
• 1:37:22
[SPEAKER_09]: Now is there any useful information that you can leave me with that I can take back to my colleagues that could lean us towards bringing justice to this woman or do you just simply not care?
• 1:37:35
[SPEAKER_06]: I think there's a difference between not caring in that knowing
• 1:37:43
[SPEAKER_06]: He stands up as you do and they kind of cross their arms.
• 1:37:47
[SPEAKER_06]: For someone who like found out that a stranger's parent died in the last what hour or so, you seem pretty riled up about it.
• 1:37:57
[SPEAKER_06]: Isn't this like your job?
• 1:38:00
[SPEAKER_06]: It would not be my job if I did not get riled up about it.
• 1:38:06
[SPEAKER_06]: A lot of people should have your feelings about that.
• 1:38:10
[SPEAKER_06]: And I think a lot of people do.
• 1:38:12
[SPEAKER_06]: So possibly the better place if you're taking your eyeer, then against a friend of the person you just lost their parent is to go see some ventures that worked closely with her.
• 1:38:27
  [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know names, I don't know her that well.
• 1:38:30
[SPEAKER_06]: Rose wasn't even that close with her.
• 1:38:34
  [SPEAKER_06]: But other people do.
• 1:38:37
[SPEAKER_09]: Could you give me a starting point?
• 1:38:42
[SPEAKER_09]: I only know the two of you, who should I ask first, that's all I'm asking is a starting point.
• 1:38:50
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't have names, I didn't keep up with like the people and Rose kind of goes, said it's fine, if you can't find the names of the people that my mother was working with.
• 1:39:04
[SPEAKER_06]: through author, or through articles about her, the only name that I even like kind of know that she had any significant relationship with is Zika Marie.
• 1:39:24
[SPEAKER_09]: She takes out her notepad, and how do you spell that?
• 1:39:34
[SPEAKER_06]: He was the only one that my mother liked working with.
• 1:39:39
[SPEAKER_06]: They apparently did a lot in school together.
• 1:39:41
[SPEAKER_06]: I find it hard to press that he would kill her for anything.
• 1:39:46
[SPEAKER_06]: They had a working partnership that was often on.
• 1:39:52
[SPEAKER_06]: There never seemed to be any animosity.
• 1:39:54
[SPEAKER_06]: But the memories of a family that go way back that we know.
• 1:39:59
[SPEAKER_06]: It's only people I could think of.
• 1:40:04
[SPEAKER_06]: would be a wild starting point for you to have and you would need more than what you have to in access to them.
• 1:40:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Thank you Rose, for your cooperation, your information and your company tonight.
• 1:40:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: Seb, good night.
• 1:40:27
[SPEAKER_09]: She turns and like approaches the door and then turns back around
• 1:40:32
[SPEAKER_09]: Do I need to be escorted out to Old Mayer just to find my way?
• 1:40:37
  [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, I'll come.
• 1:40:38
[SPEAKER_06]: And Zab follows you back up the stairs and through the kitchen and not the utility hall.
• 1:40:43
[SPEAKER_06]: Many opens the door he goes.
• 1:40:46
  [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry.
• 1:40:47
[SPEAKER_06]: We have to work together, so I'll be talking you again.
• 1:40:50
  [SPEAKER_06]: I can hardly wait.
• 1:40:56
[SPEAKER_09]: But, please, if you do think of anything I know, I know you don't know anything, there is nothing in your brain that you wish to impart to me, I understand.
• 1:41:07
[SPEAKER_09]: But, if anything, even remotely related, sticks in your brain just
• 1:41:18
[SPEAKER_06]: cool us please and if Rose need you or you need her call me so yes tell Rose she can stop by anytime goodnight and you walk out back towards the car and you sit in it you realize that he's still standing in the doorway watching.
• 1:41:40
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe gives him one final look and then starts the car and goes away
• 1:42:03
[SPEAKER_06]: I think by the time that you are pulling back up at Lamp Flight Investigative Services, the light of the sky is beginning to lighten as much as it will with cloud cover, but you can tell that dawn is making its way into the world.
• 1:42:21
[SPEAKER_06]: New Park, the street lamps themselves are kind of dimming as the sky brightens, and you climb back out.
• 1:42:42
[SPEAKER_06]: back up to the offices where you see J.J. and Mama Amarado currently like folding up newspapers that have been kind of spread out everywhere.
• 1:42:51
[SPEAKER_06]: J.J. is only organizing cabinets as you come back in.
• 1:42:56
  [SPEAKER_09]: Did you miss me?
• 1:42:58
  [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, what?
• 1:42:59
  [SPEAKER_04]: What time is it?
• 1:43:00
  [SPEAKER_04]: It's a record.
• 1:43:01
[SPEAKER_09]: I promise I took very good care of the vehicle and she holds out the keys and drops them into
• 1:43:08
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay, thank you.
• 1:43:09
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm gonna hold you to that.
• 1:43:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Make sure there's no scratch in there.
• 1:43:13
[SPEAKER_09]: You know, I would never leave a single scratch.
• 1:43:17
  [SPEAKER_09]: I responsible.
• 1:43:18
  [SPEAKER_08]: Of course you are.
• 1:43:20
[SPEAKER_08]: Did you meet the contact?
• 1:43:24
[SPEAKER_08]: Did you learn anything from the many things that knew you learned at all?
• 1:43:28
[SPEAKER_09]: Yes, I met the contact.
• 1:43:30
  [SPEAKER_09]: He is quite insufferable.
• 1:43:32
  [SPEAKER_09]: His name is Zeb.
• 1:43:36
[SPEAKER_09]: quite a large man, childhood friend of Rose, they grew up together, but somehow neither of them are very close to the victim.
• 1:43:46
[SPEAKER_09]: After much cuddling, told us about ZEEK,
• 1:43:51
[SPEAKER_06]: Do I remember reading about a Zeke?
• 1:43:53
[SPEAKER_06]: There would have been some small articles listing him as like a partner on certain projects, but like a few not.
• 1:44:00
[SPEAKER_06]: A lot of hers are her own and hers alone, but he's he's been seen as a partner on a couple of them, and what fashion it is never clear.
• 1:44:10
[SPEAKER_08]: Our son Zeke, her thoughts would definitely need to judge, so because they're probably going to have my more information on this case than uh, we do.
• 1:44:18
[SPEAKER_08]: It's just, we're going to have to wait.
• 1:44:22
[SPEAKER_08]: We're seeing that ways to contact them in public, manner, or there was some posing shoes posted to you.
• 1:44:30
[SPEAKER_08]: So I wanted to maybe seek or author my end up taking that over instead, we can reject them that way.
• 1:44:36
[SPEAKER_08]: A symposium about how work, it was supposed to be revealed on a big project she had been working on for years, something about it just stood out to me.
• 1:44:45
[SPEAKER_09]: That sounds like something that could potentially be so
• 1:44:51
[SPEAKER_09]: especially when it seems like a pretty long dedicated fashion project.
• 1:44:57
[SPEAKER_09]: I think we're on the right track.
• 1:44:59
[SPEAKER_09]: Rose did mention that her mother and Zika had worked together for quite a few years, but often on she was convinced that there was no animosity or jealousy between the two of them, but I kind of find that hard to believe.
• 1:45:14
[SPEAKER_08]: We don't know if that often was because they split apart to work on their individual projects or if it was because of some fallen outs that happened.
• 1:45:24
[SPEAKER_08]: But until he found out what that is, I think that is worth definitely suspecting him for now.
• 1:45:31
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe goes and plops down by JJ.
• 1:45:36
[SPEAKER_04]: What would you make of this?
• 1:45:37
[SPEAKER_04]: And JJ is going to hand you the article with the malfunction of the heart.
• 1:45:43
  [SPEAKER_09]: She scams it.
• 1:45:46
  [SPEAKER_09]: Mouth function.
• 1:45:48
[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I had to meet too.
• 1:45:50
  [SPEAKER_09]: Odd choice of phrase.
• 1:45:52
[SPEAKER_04]: It also did either of them mention it, a delia?
• 1:45:56
  [SPEAKER_04]: Well, you were there.
• 1:45:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: Delia?
• 1:46:00
  [SPEAKER_09]: No, not at all.
• 1:46:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: And I asked them...
• 1:46:04
[SPEAKER_09]: That's why a few questions about anyone that I should know about.
• 1:46:07
[SPEAKER_09]: Who's Delia, Elise, the sister of runs, a sister.
• 1:46:17
[SPEAKER_09]: She looks more carefully at the article.
• 1:46:20
[SPEAKER_09]: She never once mentioned the sister.
• 1:46:23
[SPEAKER_09]: Not even when she... No, she mentioned being an orphan, but she never mentioned a sibling.
• 1:46:29
  [SPEAKER_09]: Very strange.
• 1:46:31
[SPEAKER_08]: Delia stuck in the summer looking into the very least sadder, she knows way more than the others or she's been asked for saddest way knows no or nothing.
• 1:46:43
[SPEAKER_04]: Or she's dead and that in and out of itself, I feel we'll tell us a lot.
• 1:46:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully she's not dead.
• 1:46:50
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not.
• 1:46:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: Don't.
• 1:46:52
  [SPEAKER_04]: No.
• 1:46:53
[SPEAKER_09]: Of course we hope that Delia is alive.
• 1:46:57
[SPEAKER_09]: You know, like the Madagher in Public Record about her death, she did die.
• 1:47:00
  [SPEAKER_09]: Right.
• 1:47:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's true.
• 1:47:02
[SPEAKER_09]: We don't have anything on her.
• 1:47:03
[SPEAKER_04]: Besides this, I'm not that I could find.

  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't trust her.
• 1:47:28
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, I don't trust her at all.

[SPEAKER_09]: So are you a skater?
• 1:47:53
  [SPEAKER_09]: So are you a
• 1:47:54
[SPEAKER_09]: Did she tell you who recommended us she wouldn't say she just said a friend The zeb no a different friend beat me so zeb was not the friend is that the friend I was every how many Secretive close friends that I have to it's like pulling teeth to get information out of these people
• 1:48:18
[SPEAKER_09]: It almost seems like they don't want to give information.
• 1:48:23
[SPEAKER_09]: They claim not to know anything, but this is her mother for Christ's sake.
• 1:48:27
[SPEAKER_04]: Saying that the enforcers are focusing on the murder aspect, but not the theft is...
• 1:48:35
[SPEAKER_04]: So you're coming to us to solve your mother's murder when they're focusing on the murder, but you think that they should be focusing on the theft?
• 1:48:42
[SPEAKER_08]: Phyolo was a brilliant woman.
• 1:48:44
[SPEAKER_08]: It's usually stuff like tunnel vision that can really affect a case of the police decide that it's one sort of thing.
• 1:48:52
[SPEAKER_08]: They're only going to be looking for someone that have motive to murder and not just steal.
• 1:48:58
[SPEAKER_08]: Which means they could be looking for an entirely different type of criminal in the wrong criminal.
• 1:49:03
[SPEAKER_08]: That's, I think, roses concern is, they might be tunnel vision in.
• 1:49:10
[SPEAKER_08]: what they think it is when broader scope is needed but I think we are right to be suspicious especially when it comes to cases like this and not be forthcoming.
• 1:49:22
[SPEAKER_08]: When it comes to investigation it's suspicious at best and a hindrance at worst.
• 1:49:30
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you think Viola could have been inventing something that people didn't want to be made?
• 1:49:39
[SPEAKER_09]: She was a brilliant mind.
• 1:49:41
[SPEAKER_09]: I looked up to her.
• 1:49:42
[SPEAKER_09]: I really I think that she could potentially have been making something that was maybe bigger than we are thinking.
• 1:49:55
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, we'd have to find people who are not the guests that are have a best sitting interested in having to take themselves making sure that tech never reaches public gears in the first place.
• 1:50:04
[SPEAKER_08]: Those are two very different kinds of motives we're looking at.
• 1:50:10
[SPEAKER_08]: But both voters worth looking towards could be a simple robbery could be a more complicated robbery where they wanted that something sells to make sure it's just never reached a lot of day.
• 1:50:20
[SPEAKER_04]: Mama, did you find anything?
• 1:50:21
[SPEAKER_04]: I can reach out to my... Well, I can reach out to my contact.
• 1:50:28
[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I'm not sure if any of this is really relevant.
• 1:50:33
[SPEAKER_08]: There's a grant created by the weatherpees for our Katie University.
• 1:50:39
[SPEAKER_08]: Um, there's another discussion about a project, but there wasn't really anything specific on it.
• 1:50:45
[SPEAKER_08]: And then there's another article discussing something called a Hydro-ribited Cartridges.
• 1:50:52
  [SPEAKER_08]: Hydro-ribited Cartridges.
• 1:50:54
[SPEAKER_08]: From what I understood what the article was talking about.
• 1:50:57
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm no, I'm no technician or anything like that.
• 1:51:01
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not, I'm not inclined to that kind of world and like you, Joe.
• 1:51:05
[SPEAKER_08]: I was just trying to understand.
• 1:51:07
[SPEAKER_08]: And I think it's like basically a tiny steam engine for like smaller to pass it's That's honestly not wrong So that's what what another article mentioned and then of course the symposium discussion that was she was supposed to have a speech not
• 1:51:28
[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, it was going to be coming up real single and then she's supposed to reveal this project working on three years to possibly could have been a project she would work in on the alphabet Z.
• 1:51:37
[SPEAKER_08]: Go on maybe he got and this is all conjecture because we're just going to drop theories on the board right now.
• 1:51:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I can get the board.
• 1:51:48
[SPEAKER_04]: JJ pulls out a board.
• 1:51:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: Spool the red string.
• 1:51:51
[SPEAKER_08]: It's very possible someone felt like they were snubs and maybe wanted
• 1:51:57
[SPEAKER_08]: try and take a bit of work for themselves, maybe to make a name for yourselves, maybe to re establish a name, maybe a name that's been overshadowed, but it's all conjecture and we need to look at it.
• 1:52:10
[SPEAKER_08]: Every possible avenue and you see what other doors open up when doors close.
• 1:52:15
[SPEAKER_09]: May I read all these articles?
• 1:52:18
[SPEAKER_04]: Just put them back on my desk when you're done, please.
• 1:52:23
[SPEAKER_09]: I will put them back in the correct order, J.J.
• 1:52:27
  [SPEAKER_09]: Thank you.
• 1:52:28
[SPEAKER_09]: Honestly, I feel like I've been pretty good about that recently.
• 1:52:33
[SPEAKER_04]: J.J. glances over at the highly polished cabinets.
• 1:52:39
  [SPEAKER_09]: I've been trying.
• 1:52:40
[SPEAKER_09]: You have done the best that you could do.
• 1:52:46
[SPEAKER_09]: Joe Grins, Cheekly, and that is all you can ask of me, and then kicks her feet up on the arm and starts to read and get up to speed.
• 1:52:58
[SPEAKER_06]: As Joe sits down and begins her own bruise of the documents that Mama and JJ found, I'm gonna be fixed in breakfast for everyone.
• 1:53:07
[SPEAKER_08]: I just stick around for breakfast.
• 1:53:10
  [SPEAKER_04]: I suppose if everyone's already there.
