Transcript
- 0:00Welcome back. Here are the six quick questions. Question number one is, what's your why? Why do you wake up every day and put your time and energy and stress and love into this business? You know, it's funny. I think our, my why is very similar to our brand's why and it's around inspiring joy. And I have this
- 0:29I really truly believe in leaving people that you meet better than how you sort of met them. Oh, I love that. So I think that joy piece is definitely my why. We need joy. We need so much joy. What's been your favorite marketing moment so far? And you can't say the diner. Oh, damn. I was like, definitely the diner event. Okay. It would have to be the CGI event.
- 0:52campaign that we did for body wear, we basically pretended that we blew up or had these massive inflatable body whip tubs in the icebergs pool at Bondi. And we sort of paired it with an activation where we sort of gave out products. So people actually thought it was real because we were just down there giving out products, pretending that we had these floating inflatable products.
- 1:14in the pool. Oh my God. I love that. I've seen so many good, um, you know, campaigns around all of these fun content pieces and I'm like, hell yes. I love this. People are so creative. We love it. We love it. Question number three, what's your go-to resource to learn like a business podcast or a business newsletter or something?
- 1:38can I do an app? And it's actually like not so much to learn, but it's been so helpful for me in business. It's called Speechify. So basically you can upload any Word document, PDF into it, and it will read it out to you, which is so helpful. So I choose Gwyneth Paltrow to read out all my legal contracts because I just cannot sit there and read and go through it like,
- 2:02you know, line by line. So I'll be on the way to work and be like, okay, I've got to read through this contract, chuck it in speechify. And I'm just driving while Grenfell Patro's telling me about the terms. Oh my God. I love that. That's so cool. How do they deal with that legally? Like, are they allowed to have her voice? I guess, I guess so. Yeah. Yeah. She's there. She's reading it to me. She's just on there. How cool. Question number four, do you have any rituals that help
- 2:33alarms. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I have to set an alarm for every meeting, anything that I need to do at a certain point in time. Cause I just, the day gets away from you and yeah, it kind of keeps me on track. Oh my gosh. I love that. I haven't heard that before. I think I'd live in the state of panic for me is like a, Oh my God. No, no. John Mayer in the morning wakes me up. That's a different alarm to my like, okay, you've got a meeting alarm. Yeah.
- 3:02That's not the warning alarm. You've got to wake up. Number five is what has been the worst money mistake you've made and how much did it cost you? We've been pretty lucky. We haven't made, as I said at the start, I'm really risk adverse. So everything is pretty considered. I get 10 million opinions before I press go on something expensive. But I think the worst money mistake we've made is not planning. And then that whole export piece around not forecasting correctly and just
- 3:32yeah, not planning cashflow planning has been the biggest mistake. Gotcha. And last question, question number six, what is just a crazy story, good or bad from the journey and building the biz? Crazy story. Um, I feel like every day is crazy. Oh, okay. Okay. This one is truly crazy. I,
- 3:58have been asked if I purposely designed the can of whipped shower foams to look like a penis. What? Yeah, it's proper crazy. Who asked you that? Yeah, I know, exactly. Did you design this to look like a penis? And I was like, well, personally, I think it looks like a can of whipped cream, but hey, whatever floats your boat. It's literally not what I would expect to.
- 4:24Me either. Anyone to draw a connection to. Like, can we say the gender? Was it man or woman? It was a man. Oh, my God. Come on. That's pretty crazy, right? Pretty crazy. It's definitely my craziest story. It's a good dinner party, like, conversation start-up.
- 4:43Oh my God. I'm like, where do I even go with that? What the hell? I'd be shocked. I know. I know. You asked for crazy. You did ask for crazy. That is a good one. That's a good one. Oh my gosh.
