- 0:32I guess we would be remiss if we didn't talk about Tesla.
- 0:34Oh, didn't we talk about him enough already?
- 0:36Was that the Law and Order music?
- 0:41Yep.
- 0:42What kind of shenanigans is Elon up to this time?
- 0:47Have you noticed that we have begun to really split hairs on Tesla?
- 0:51I remember when it was just, we would be remiss.
- 0:55And then it became Teslagate, and then it became stupid shit that Elon does, and
- 1:00now the Cybertruck has its own segment by itself, because it is a spectacle.
- 1:06Yes.
- 1:07I love how it's all inclusive.
- 1:09It's the car, it's the man, it's the company, just all rolled up into one.
- 1:14There you go, there's their new slogan, the car, the man, the company.
- 1:18Musk.
- 1:19They should just drop Tesla.
- 1:21They should just be Musk.
- 1:23Are you driving?
- 1:25God, I can't even say it.
- 1:26Are you driving your Musk?
- 1:28Yes, I got my Musk.
- 1:30Riding in my Musk.
- 1:32What was the name of that perfume in Anchorman where he was like, Musk.
- 1:38Jaguar bottle.
- 1:39He would open it up and it would like smell like hell.
- 1:41Like that's exactly what I'm thinking here.
- 1:44Sex Panther?
- 1:45Was that what it was?
- 1:45Musk.
- 1:48But before we dig in to the showcase, I have breaking news.
- 1:52I received an email from Tesla.
- 1:56They, uh, hacked your account and have all your personal info.
- 1:58They would like you to reset your password.
- 2:00Yes.
- 2:00There was a security breach and the, no, I'm kidding.
- 2:03We found out a little secret when we were doing a crossover episode.
- 2:05With one of our guests, Elon Musk snort my hundred dollars up his nose.
- 2:09Is that what happened?
- 2:10Well, he must've spent it on something because you didn't get your day
- 2:13one t shirt that you were supposed to get as a reservation holder.
- 2:16Did you get it as a reservation holder or after you place your order?
- 2:20No, you were supposed to get it when you placed your reservation.
- 2:22Oh, I didn't get anything.
- 2:23That's what we were told.
- 2:24Remember, you were all upset about that.
- 2:26It wouldn't fit me now anyway.
- 2:28I don't know what happened to my t shirt.
- 2:30You know what's funny is that t shirt might be worth more than that
- 2:33Cybertruck allotment at this point.
- 2:34If everybody got one and there's like millions of people put
- 2:37in orders for Cybertrucks.
- 2:39Man, those were some expensive t shirts, 100.
- 2:42Where is your order?
- 2:43Have you received Dogecoin?
- 2:44Your limited edition Foundation Series Cybertruck is ready to order.
- 2:49Did you say limited edition?
- 2:50Limited edition Foundation Series.
- 2:53Cybertruck is ready to order.
- 2:55I have been spending all my time literally 24 7 for the last month
- 3:00Trying to cancel my order and and just not having any luck Canceling my order
- 3:05because I got in with my deposit on day one So i'm one of like the first couple
- 3:09hundred as an early reservation holder.
- 3:12You have been invited to order Your foundation series, Cybertruck
- 3:17with early access to delivery.
- 3:19I'm guessing that means 2027, maybe.
- 3:22I don't know.
- 3:22It says further on that they're delivering trucks in California and Texas, and
- 3:26they're delivering as early as 2024.
- 3:28I don't know, whatever.
- 3:28Warm climates.
- 3:29Okay.
- 3:30Yeah.
- 3:30Well, we'll get into that.
- 3:31We'll get into that.
- 3:33So yeah, I need to call Tesla and get my a hundred dollars back.
- 3:37That's what's going to happen with that.
- 3:38So let's dive into the showcase.
- 3:40If you haven't been able to tell, we are talking about all things, Cybertruck.
- 3:44That's right.
- 3:45I am so glad you're back.
- 3:46This is going to be a hell of a winter recap.
- 3:48Obviously, congratulations are in order.
- 3:50You had your second son, you know, that's an awesome big event in your
- 3:54life, but maybe not as big as getting the opportunity to pick up this Cybertruck.
- 3:58Yes, yes, yes.
- 4:00So to quote Steven Izzy from our Everything I Learned From Movies
- 4:02episodes, what have we learned about the Cybertruck now that people are
- 4:07taking delivery of these things?
- 4:08We've learned that they're available, but they're not available.
- 4:12Tesla really doesn't want to sell any because they're trying to offer
- 4:15you money to buy another Tesla.
- 4:17So you don't sit around waiting for a cyber truck that may or may not exist.
- 4:21All the ones that are out there running or doing funky things like
- 4:24crashing and weird things like that.
- 4:26All good things.
- 4:27Let's start with this.
- 4:28You've got that email.
- 4:29Does it give you any details?
- 4:31Are you able to go in and maybe spec it out and figure out
- 4:34how much it's going to cost?
- 4:35Because I've heard some rumors about what may be the real price.
- 4:40is for these Cybertrucks.
- 4:42So this one's going to be expensive.
- 4:44Your Cybertruck will be fully optioned.
- 4:46It will include limited edition laser etched badging, premium accessories,
- 4:52charging equipment with PowerShare home backup hardware, all terrain
- 4:57tires, full self driving capability.
- 5:00Wait, all terrain tires?
- 5:01All terrains.
- 5:02She got hung up on all terrain tires?
- 5:05Wait, what do we mean?
- 5:06The tires that can't get up a hill in the woods?
- 5:09Or when there's like snow?
- 5:10Be the ones.
- 5:11I don't know which all terrain tires they are offering, but they're
- 5:14probably not Duratrax, which means they're probably not very good.
- 5:17Don't ruin it for everybody.
- 5:19But here's the part I thought Tanya would have honed in on.
- 5:22Self driving capability.
- 5:24That's what I thought too.
- 5:25She got hung up on these all terrain tires.
- 5:28I wasn't listening Full self driving capability that will need to be
- 5:32recalled before I even take delivery.
- 5:34Yeah, because that's false advertising So maybe I should take
- 5:37this email and just sue tesla.
- 5:38Well, the lawsuit's not over yet That's why that's why they can still use it I
- 5:42guess but still no talk about what it costs Well, I can continue to my account.
- 5:48I haven't logged into this in like three years, four years, maybe five.
- 5:52When was it first announced?
- 5:53Like 15 years ago with that steampunk kind of like cyberpunk.
- 5:57Wasn't it in the year before COVID?
- 6:00The year 2000.
- 6:02And the time before?
- 6:03Yeah, it was like in the before times.
- 6:05Yeah.
- 6:05It was like in the November.
- 6:06BC before COVID.
- 6:08Yeah.
- 6:08Before COVID.
- 6:11I was working at that terrible mortgage company.
- 6:13Oh man, that was a while ago then.
- 6:15Yeah, 2019.
- 6:16Jeez, five years since you put this deposit down.
- 6:18And the one thing that makes your particular deposit special is
- 6:21you actually went full in on the tri motor version of this thing.
- 6:25So it is like the upper echelon of Cybertrucks if it ever comes to fruition.
- 6:29That's why it's the top of the line limited edition.
- 6:32Some or other.
- 6:33Limited to somebody.
- 6:35Limited to my imagination.
- 6:36What I've read is They had all these bargain basement prices.
- 6:40Oh, you can get a cyber truck.
- 6:41It's going to be the cheapest truck in town.
- 6:43Blah, blah, blah.
- 6:4430, 000.
- 6:46You know, all these numbers that you never sure.
- 6:48It's sort of like Christmas time where they double the price and
- 6:51then put it on sale 50 percent off.
- 6:53One of those kinds of deals.
- 6:54But I'm reading over a hundred grand for these things.
- 6:57So the all wheel drive foundation series tri motor.
- 7:02Fully loaded 99, 990 before taxes.
- 7:09Yeah.
- 7:09Well, they lost the tax credit, didn't they?
- 7:11So you can't get that.
- 7:12You can get the cyber beast.
- 7:13I can upgrade if I wanted to, to the cyber beast for 119, 990.
- 7:22Stop playing games.
- 7:23Tesla a hundred thousand dollars or 120, 000 is dropping that 10
- 7:27off does not make it any better.
- 7:28I apparently had very lofty goals for my income when I put the order in
- 7:32on this truck, I will tell you what.
- 7:34But, but let's put that in perspective though.
- 7:36We already know that pickup trucks are expensive to begin with, but
- 7:41how much truck, real truck can you buy for a hundred grand these days?
- 7:46I mean, you can get a fully optioned out.
- 7:49Diesel 3500 dually or something like that.
- 7:52F 250 King Ranch or something like that.
- 7:54Talk about a beast.
- 7:55That's a real beast compared to this thing.
- 7:58And we'll get into more of these specifics of what's working and
- 8:01what's not with the Cybertruck here as we've learned in doing this research.
- 8:04I'm not even done.
- 8:05But wait, there's more!
- 8:07Call now!
- 8:07So yeah, 100, 000 or 120, 000.
- 8:10You can add the range extender for 16, 000.
- 8:15So it's 116, 000 or 136, 000 for any of the tri motor versions.
- 8:23Uh, what percentage APR these days?
- 8:26Car loans are for excellent credits and like the five to 7
- 8:30percent range, something like that, and it only goes up from there.
- 8:33Still a lot.
- 8:34Well, you financed it for 30 years, like a mortgage.
- 8:36I mean, when you're talking six figure cars.
- 8:38So, okay.
- 8:39Yeah.
- 8:39The interest rate would be 6.
- 8:4259%.
- 8:42You can do up to 84 months.
- 8:44With a 4, 500 down payment, your monthly payment for seven years on a truck that
- 8:50probably won't last two years is 1, 500.
- 8:54Tesla not only does their own insurance, but I think they
- 8:56do their own financing too.
- 8:58Well, they also do some other financing.
- 9:00Do you guys remember the Tesla Roadster and the thousand people that put money
- 9:04down on that thing like 10 years ago?
- 9:06If you do the math on that, it's like a cool quarter million
- 9:09dollars they got tax free.
- 9:11What kind of scheme is it?
- 9:12The Like, does it have a name where you get people to put deposits down
- 9:17and you get a million people to put a hundred dollars down and then you
- 9:21use that money to finance yourself and don't give them anything?
- 9:24I believe that's called a sweepstakes.
- 9:26So this is the Tesla model.
- 9:28We've got this great idea.
- 9:30We can't afford to build it, so we're going to sell it now, and then
- 9:34we're going to use the funds from the sale to build it, and then we're
- 9:38going to come up with another idea, and we're going to sell that, we're
- 9:41going to sell the idea, and then use those funds to build this other idea.
- 9:45I figured it out.
- 9:46It's like the Fyre Festival.
- 9:47Everybody putting all this money.
- 9:49Yes, yes.
- 9:50Some people got t shirts.
- 9:51Tesla is the Fyre Festival of the automotive world.
- 9:54I love it.
- 9:55Like Eric said, the Ponzi scheme, all of it's vaporware.
- 9:58So how many Tesla roadsters are going to get built?
- 10:01Do you think, well, the Tesla roadsters are funding the cyber truck.
- 10:05Can you put your deposit down yet?
- 10:06A thousand people or something put down deposits on those things.
- 10:10And how many years ago was that?
- 10:11We're talking about the lasers and the cannons and it's gonna be 0 to 60 in 1.
- 10:159 seconds.
- 10:16It's gonna be the fastest car to play.
- 10:18Remember that episode we did season one, Brad, like five
- 10:21years ago with Bobby Parks.
- 10:22And he was talking about how they were going to go drag
- 10:24racing with the Tesla Roadster.
- 10:26And I'm like, yeah, okay.
- 10:27I didn't believe it then.
- 10:28And we're all cautiously optimistic, but it's literally been five years.
- 10:33It's never going to happen.
- 10:34Well, we said the same thing about the Cybertruck, so.
- 10:37Yes, but it's also here rife with problems.
- 10:41Yes.
- 10:42So this is the Tesla Roadster Sweepstake and Cybertruck Semi Truck Program.
- 10:47Great, if you order now, we'll throw in A windshield wiper blade.
- 10:51Does it have windshield wipers?
- 10:53Yeah, it's got that one, it's got that one giant windshield wiper.
- 10:56Large one.
- 10:57That wiper blade keeps giving them issues.
- 11:01Something so basic.
- 11:02And remember I said blade, not blades.
- 11:06It's that six foot windshield wiper.
- 11:08They're delaying Cybertruck orders because the windshield wiper doesn't work.
- 11:14Well, it also takes 37 menu clicks to turn it on.
- 11:17They don't want you to use it.
- 11:18That's why it's buried so far down in the menu.
- 11:20Just the supply chain quality issue on the wiper motors.
- 11:25They're failing.
- 11:26Nobody.
- 11:27Well, you have to imagine the torque put on that wiper motor with
- 11:31a single arm that's like six feet long and then the air resistance.
- 11:35How big is that motor that's got to move that thing?
- 11:39I didn't do the engineering calcs.
- 11:40It's a 2.
- 11:403 liter EcoBoost.
- 11:42Just to move the windshield wiper.
- 11:45It does remind me having seen it in person.
- 11:47If you remember the 190E and some of the other Mercedes of that time period,
- 11:52in like the late 80s, early 90s.
- 11:54Some of them had like that big scissor wiper.
- 11:56Honda Civic had that.
- 11:57Yeah, but they also had a single wiper blade on the Mercedes and it was massive.
- 12:02It worked then, I guess.
- 12:03Okay, so we confirmed that.
- 12:04It has side mirrors now.
- 12:06It doesn't have lasers or sharks with lasers.
- 12:08It kind of looks like a shark toy with lasers on it in a way.
- 12:12We'll talk about the aesthetics here as we go.
- 12:14We already know about the less than 10 microns of panel gap and all that stuff.
- 12:18We've reviewed that in the past.
- 12:20Better than Legos.
- 12:21You know what I'm not seeing?
- 12:22I'm not seeing how to get my 100 back.
- 12:24That's what I'm not seeing.
- 12:25Where's the link for that?
- 12:26You told the ethos, the great wide interwebs.
- 12:30You would give away your Cybertruck allotment for a bucket of chicken.
- 12:34Has anybody taken you up on this yet?
- 12:35I mean, come on, man.
- 12:36No, I've been waiting for Mark Hewitt to give me a call and
- 12:39he just has not reached out.
- 12:40So I don't know what's going on with that.
- 12:42Because he's trying to figure out how to buy Dogecoin because
- 12:45even that doesn't exist anymore.
- 12:48Is your donation to the Tesla Corporation, is that tax
- 12:51deductible on your yearly taxes?
- 12:53It's supposed to be fully refundable.
- 12:55Yeah, yeah.
- 12:56I, I filed it.
- 12:57I got the tax write off for that back in 2019.
- 13:00I do have a correction to make though breaking news.
- 13:03My foundation series is not the tri motor cyber beast.
- 13:08Oh, it's just dual motor.
- 13:10So the dual motor is a hundred thousand dollars.
- 13:13When the dual motor was supposed to be 80, 000 when they first announced it.
- 13:17Do we have a countdown timer for this like we did with the DeLorean?
- 13:21Remember that?
- 13:21That we need the same thing for you.
- 13:22Oh, the stopwatch was stopped back in 2019 because I'm not actually ever going
- 13:26to pick up one of these fucking things.
- 13:27No, because you want a bucket of chicken for this.
- 13:30Yes, I want a bucket of chicken.
- 13:31I will even take a bucket 2019.
- 13:34You know what?
- 13:35No.
- 13:35I want, when it was first announced, one of the day one Popeye's had that chicken
- 13:40sandwich that was sold out and people were like stabbing each other for them.
- 13:43I want one of those.
- 13:45Give me one of those Popeye's chicken sandwiches and you can have my 100.
- 13:50So you're saying that's worth more than your Cybertruck allotment?
- 13:53I don't Yeah, yes, yes, exactly.
- 13:55Even if you did get your cyber truck, I'm going to convince you to buy this
- 13:58thing by the time it's over, right?
- 13:59This is like our little, what should I buy here?
- 14:01You're not going to convince my wallet to buy it.
- 14:03You only get one car to buy them.
- 14:05It's a cyber truck, but you only get one car to buy it.
- 14:07It's a cyber truck.
- 14:08I guess I'm riding my bicycle cyber bike.
- 14:11Think of the mulch you can haul or you can't haul.
- 14:15Apparently we'll talk about that too.
- 14:17If you did take delivery of this thing, let's say you set up all the
- 14:20financing and you're making your payments and all this kind of stuff.
- 14:23And you could, I got my cyber truck and you decide in three
- 14:26months, you want to get rid of it.
- 14:27There was a bunch of, again, shenanigans are the words I'm going to use here
- 14:31about whether or not you could actually.
- 14:33Unload the car, trade it in, get rid of it, sell it.
- 14:36Were you going to get sued?
- 14:37Aren't you going to get sued?
- 14:38I still don't know the answer to this.
- 14:40I don't know either.
- 14:41I would assume you would get sued, but it depends.
- 14:43I think if you try to flip it for more than you paid, like if I took it to
- 14:47CarMax and said, Hey, will you take this?
- 14:49First of all, they won't take it.
- 14:50But second of all, If CarMax was to take it, I certainly wouldn't get market value.
- 14:55I'd get below market value for it.
- 14:57So I don't think Tesla would have a problem with that.
- 14:59I think they're trying to stop the people that are taking their day
- 15:02one investment and flipping it to somebody else for 150, 000, 200, 000.
- 15:08They just sold one at Mecum and it came in at 105, 000, which
- 15:12is just Barely over sticker.
- 15:13And I'm like, wow.
- 15:14Okay.
- 15:15Which is what I was hoping to do until I couldn't even get it,
- 15:17uh, bought a good chicken for it.
- 15:19You mentioned before that they're offering people a thousand bucks
- 15:22to change their reservations over.
- 15:24Is that in the system?
- 15:25Can you do that now?
- 15:26Can you convert that to a Tesla model three reservation instead?
- 15:30Not anymore.
- 15:31I could only have done that by end of year last year.
- 15:33That's really timely too because they just announced that they're
- 15:37going to be restyling the Model 3.
- 15:39So if you missed that window and said, you know what, the heck with the Cybertruck.
- 15:43I want to get that new Model 3 that's coming out.
- 15:45Now you're sort of stuck.
- 15:46But with, again, what you got, uh, okay.
- 15:48So that's out the window.
- 15:49That's no fun.
- 15:50You can't sell it.
- 15:51You can't get a thousand bucks for it.
- 15:53You can't get the economic rebate from the government for it.
- 15:58The price went up because of inflation from the day they announced it.
- 16:01Exactly.
- 16:02Exactly.
- 16:02What's he going to do?
- 16:03What are you to do?
- 16:03Well, you're going to buy a bucket of chicken because you're
- 16:05hungry, but nobody's going to give it to you for that cyber trick.
- 16:08A lot.
- 16:08I mean, we've established that I'm going to get my a hundred dollars back
- 16:11and then I'm going to buy a hundred dollars worth of chicken and I'm going
- 16:13to share it with my closest friends.
- 16:14And I think this next article sort of.
- 16:16It's this idea right on the head, which is the cyber truck is just
- 16:20another bloated EV that misses the point of being green transportation.
- 16:25And this is written by like an it blog or whatever.
- 16:28And so they're comparing the cyber truck to the F 1T and all this kind of stuff.
- 16:33I have this like Dodoi moment when I look at this, because it is not functional.
- 16:38And this does give us an opportunity to talk about the aesthetics of the truck.
- 16:41You see the videos like on YouTube and stuff.
- 16:44I don't know what to think.
- 16:45I don't know who to believe when people say, Oh, it's so amazing.
- 16:49It looks so good.
- 16:50What do you consider ugly?
- 16:51Right?
- 16:52I guess I need to phrase it that way because I don't see the beauty.
- 16:56I can understand someone in the art community trying to explain to me why you
- 17:00bism and all the Picasso and the melting clocks and all this stuff is beautiful.
- 17:05Okay, great.
- 17:06But I don't see the beauty in this thing.
- 17:09I think beautiful is The wrong word.
- 17:12There's nothing beautiful about it.
- 17:14There are very few cars these days that are beautiful.
- 17:17But why would you buy this thing?
- 17:18Is it just ironic?
- 17:20Is it like those memes that I don't understand?
- 17:22Because in that very peak, it looks like it's got a lot of headroom for the driver.
- 17:27That's all I care about.
- 17:28Have you seen anybody say that?
- 17:29sit in it.
- 17:29No.
- 17:30It's like a Supra.
- 17:31You're on the slope side of the roof.
- 17:33So there is no headroom.
- 17:34Oh, well, that's dumb.
- 17:35It's so weird.
- 17:36I don't even know how you see out of these.
- 17:37I don't get it.
- 17:38And so when you flip it over, you can spin it around when you flip it on the trail.
- 17:43So yeah, it's just another bloated truck.
- 17:46Evie bloated Evie.
- 17:47Yeah.
- 17:47Not good as a truck.
- 17:48There's not good as an Evie.
- 17:50What is it good as?
- 17:51Well, I don't know, because let's talk about that all wheel drive system
- 17:54and those fabulous all terrain tires that Tanya got so excited about.
- 17:57Bye.
- 17:58Have you seen these videos of the few Cybertrucks that are out in the snow?
- 18:02None, I haven't seen the ones of the snow, but I saw the one that wrecked.
- 18:05That was a while ago, but these ones in the snow, I mean, you can see the
- 18:08all wheel drive trying to do something.
- 18:10There's definitely some latency from front to back, because obviously
- 18:12the systems aren't connected.
- 18:13It's not like Quattro or like a Jeep or something like that.
- 18:16There's no mechanical all wheel drive here.
- 18:18It's all digital, right?
- 18:19These all terrain tires must be slicks because they don't work.
- 18:22And then the hilarious video was over on Jalopnik, and this Cybertruck gets
- 18:26pulled out by like a regular F 350.
- 18:29Looked like he was just off the showroom, like nothing special.
- 18:32It's not like he had a lift kit, you know, 93 inch tires with
- 18:34Bigfoot knobs on them or something.
- 18:36He just pulled the Cybertruck out.
- 18:37And the Cybertruck's not light by any stretch of the imagination, but
- 18:40That's something to be said, too.
- 18:41You have a heavy vehicle in the snow, it should kind of like, let's say,
- 18:44push itself down into the ground.
- 18:46If you have decent tires, you should be able to get around, but
- 18:48it can't get out of its own way.
- 18:50It looks like snow and ice is stuck in the grooves of the tires, so
- 18:53basically you've created a slick.
- 18:55I'm assuming it doesn't have a low range transfer case?
- 18:59Why would it?
- 18:59It's all digital, right?
- 19:00There's no real all wheel drive system in there.
- 19:03I know, I know.
- 19:04I bet an Audi could get out of that hole.
- 19:05I mean, that second video, Where he's kind of going up the driveway
- 19:09backends, like fishtailing and stuff.
- 19:11And it's just trying to crab walk its way up to your point.
- 19:14I think a Audi could do that.
- 19:17My Jeep could definitely do that.
- 19:18There's a lot of other four wheel drive vehicles that could do it.
- 19:20So you're paying all this extra money for dual motor, tri motor, whatever.
- 19:25For what?
- 19:25To have a bunch of extra stuff in the rain?
- 19:28This thing could be front wheel drive and I guess it'd
- 19:30be like the new Aztec, I guess.
- 19:31To be fair, a lot of vehicles would get stuck like that, though.
- 19:35It depends on how you're driving it.
- 19:36It depends on if you've got a low range.
- 19:38I think your Jeep's got a four low that you can put it in, which
- 19:40is, it's different gearing and changes the power delivery, which is
- 19:45necessary in snow and stuff like that.
- 19:46You know what?
- 19:47This reminds me of on Top Gear, they used to make fun of the BMW X5s.
- 19:50Yeah.
- 19:51Because the all wheel drive system in those was not very good.
- 19:54If they had appropriate tires, or maybe they should put chains on their tires.
- 19:57Kind of defeats the purpose, though.
- 19:58My truck would probably look like that.
- 20:00With an empty bed, with no weight over the rear.
- 20:02I guess the battery's in the rear.
- 20:03I'm not impressed, though.
- 20:04And I don't think a lot of people are.
- 20:06And you know what else really isn't impressive?
- 20:08We've talked about it many times before, which are these Stupid drag races.
- 20:12Tesla versus the world.
- 20:13And this latest one is just, I don't even know what to say.
- 20:17It's just a spectacle.
- 20:19I also heard that it was a complete farce and it's mostly produced and or staged.
- 20:23So it's a cyber truck that's trailering a 911.
- 20:27Drag racing a 911.
- 20:29And what am I supposed to take away from this?
- 20:31Who won?
- 20:32Well, who do you think won?
- 20:33And they were doing a what?
- 20:34Quarter mile?
- 20:35Quarter mile drag race.
- 20:36I would assume an electric vehicle can get up to the quarter mile faster.
- 20:40But again, what is the point?
- 20:42Who cares?
- 20:43It wasn't even a tea can?
- 20:44No!
- 20:45It was a regular gas 911.
- 20:47Both are base level 911 Carreras.
- 20:49So no additional power or anything like that.
- 20:51It's just a base 911.
- 20:53Which is still no slouch.
- 20:55It's 350, 400 horsepower in the base level 911.
- 20:58So.
- 20:58Tesla and Porsche go back and forth all the time with who's better.
- 21:02I don't know why.
- 21:03Yeah, but you don't see a 911 towing a Model 3 or a take hand towing a Model 3.
- 21:07It doesn't make any sense.
- 21:08Cayenne.
- 21:09So that's what they should have done.
- 21:11That's what Porsche needs to come back with, with a
- 21:13Cayenne Turbo towing a Model 3.
- 21:15And blowing this thing out of the water.
- 21:17Publicity stunt for the sake of publicity stunts, to me, it doesn't make any sense.
- 21:21It's just another stupid Tesla drag race, as far as I'm concerned.
- 21:24Yep.
- 21:24No, stupid drag race, But this time, the Tesla loses?
- 21:29Loser!
- 21:30Loser!
- 21:31Was this an off road drag race?
- 21:33It was.
- 21:33Between an F 150 Lightning and a Cybertruck.
- 21:36And the Lightning leaves the Cybertruck in the dust.
- 21:39I mean, the sand.
- 21:40I was gonna say, he dusted him.
- 21:42Yeah, he dusted him good.
- 21:43Real good.
- 21:45Oh, well, you know, the tires are the problem, the supply chain,
- 21:49the manufacturer of the rubber.
- 21:51That Tesla got a head start, but that lightning came up quick.
- 21:55It just called it a day.
- 21:56Maybe it's just the way because when you video wheels and stuff, it almost looks
- 22:01like the rear of the F 150 actually locks up and he's just dragging the rear wheel.
- 22:07It's the camera.
- 22:08I could watch this video all day long and repeat.
- 22:11It is just fantastic.
- 22:12I love the guy With the American flag, like, yeah,
- 22:16yeah, yeah, absolutely love it.
- 22:22Oh, that's good stuff.
- 22:23Which is a better run company, Tesla or General Motors?
- 22:31Notice that there was not a Chevy Silverado in this drag race.
- 22:35It was a Ford.
- 22:36That is true.
- 22:36Now, the more interesting thing.
- 22:38So Motor Trends has done a comparison test before you read the answer between the.
- 22:43Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T, and the F 150 Lightning.
- 22:48Which truck do you think came out on top?
- 22:51I'm gonna take a wild stab here.
- 22:53And of course they looked at the real world mileage, towing, they
- 22:57looked at off road capability.
- 22:59Acceleration, they did some like figure eight tests.
- 23:02How many Porsches were they towing in this exercise?
- 23:05They towed some 3, 200 almost pound camper trailer.
- 23:09All right.
- 23:10The real question is who comes in second.
- 23:12Okay.
- 23:12Because we already know who comes in first.
- 23:14No, who do you think comes in first?
- 23:16Go bottom up.
- 23:17Who's number three?
- 23:18I think the Lightning is at the bottom.
- 23:19Oh, I was going to put the Lightning at top.
- 23:22No, we already know the Lightning's second.
- 23:24It sucks at towing.
- 23:25Like we've seen those real life tests with the guys with the
- 23:28campers and all that stuff.
- 23:30I think that's at the bottom.
- 23:31We haven't seen a real life test with the Cybertruck of the Rivian.
- 23:34No, it's towed a 9 11.
- 23:36That's all we needed to know.
- 23:37It beat a 9 11 towing a 9 11.
- 23:39You can tow a 9 11 down a quarter mile, not 300 miles down the interstate.
- 23:43How far is your home depot from your house?
- 23:45About 4.
- 23:475 miles.
- 23:47There you go.
- 23:48That's as far as you need to go.
- 23:49But then can you shovel mulch over the side?
- 23:51You laugh, but in the cargo carrying category, I will say this.
- 23:55They commented that the Cybertruck, you can't easily shovel mulch out over the
- 24:00side rails, as you can in other trucks.
- 24:02Boom, mulch.
- 24:03I've never seen anybody shovel mulch out of their truck.
- 24:06Is that a thing?
- 24:07Like, all these guys with their pristine bed liners.
- 24:09I'm like, you buy bag mulch.
- 24:12Come on.
- 24:12I don't think they actually put mulch in these.
- 24:14I think it's just a funny way of saying, like, the way that
- 24:16the bed sides are angled.
- 24:18It's Not really great for getting stuff out.
- 24:21Anyway, so you think number three is the lightning, so
- 24:23who do we think is number two?
- 24:24I don't want it to be the Rivian.
- 24:26Is this one of those, like, it's slanted in favor of the Cybertruck because
- 24:30everybody's given it so much grief?
- 24:32Who do you think is number two?
- 24:34I'm gonna roll hard.
- 24:35I'm gonna take a chance.
- 24:36And say the Rivian beat the Tesla.
- 24:39I have to abstain from voting because I saw the results.
- 24:43Oh, dang.
- 24:44All right, so what, what happened?
- 24:45The Rivian is number one in this comparison, followed by the Cybertruck,
- 24:50and then followed by the F 150 Lightning.
- 24:54Logic prevails.
- 24:58Yes.
- 24:59So what I learned from this, just from this opening picture, cause I
- 25:03didn't scroll any further than that.
- 25:04I didn't realize the headlights are in that gap, which I assume is a panel gap
- 25:10between the front nose and whatever that thing they call a bumper is at the bottom.
- 25:14Like, so that streak of light across the front, that's a daytime running light.
- 25:19Exactly.
- 25:19I thought that was the headlights.
- 25:21That's probably dumb.
- 25:22Oh my god, that makes the truck even stupider.
- 25:25So ugly.
- 25:26And then, now that I'm scrolling down, this is the first time I've gotten a
- 25:30very clear picture of the wiper blade.
- 25:34Oh, so speaking of the wiper blade.
- 25:36What does that wipe?
- 25:38Your ass.
- 25:39How does this work?
- 25:40I thought it, Brad said it.
- 25:43Here you go.
- 25:43Commenting on Tesla.
- 25:44Tesla presents a curve that's so steep, a new driver venturing into a
- 25:48big puddle will learn that with the wheels and windshield so far forward,
- 25:52visibility can be completely obscured by the splash of potentially muddy water.
- 25:56A terrible time to learn the two step process.
- 25:59For activating the Giga Wiper, thumb the tiny button on the steering wheel
- 26:04with the windshield washer icon.
- 26:06Then look down and choose your wiper setting from a pop up menu on the screen.
- 26:10Wow.
- 26:12It got really poor marks in terms of like visibility.
- 26:15Apparently you can't see out of the thing.
- 26:17They summarize it in two words.
- 26:19It says further in the article.
- 26:21Bunker visibility.
- 26:27Oh, this is terrible.
- 26:29I also like the other comment in the con column.
- 26:32Cosplay quote unquote off road tires.
- 26:34Apparently they were horrible.
- 26:36They mudded up immediately and it went like spinning and sliding.
- 26:40Whereas like the Rivian and the Ford on their like, Whatever normal
- 26:44street tires were, it was like, fine.
- 26:46And Cooper's that they got, you know, like whatever.
- 26:50I also like the borderline dangerous secondary trolls.
- 26:54Yeah.
- 26:54Like that windshield wiper, like there's a reason why, and it goes
- 26:59back to the manufacturers now also backpedaling on the whole infotainment.
- 27:05Let's control everything with.
- 27:06this big huge iPad in the middle of your console.
- 27:10The tactile, the levers behind the steering wheel, knobs that you can
- 27:14intuitively just reach for, feel, and you don't have to look at them.
- 27:17I shouldn't have to divert my eyes to use my windshield wipers.
- 27:21I should just be able to flick.
- 27:23They're on.
- 27:24Immediately.
- 27:24I feel like the Cybertruck is this giant social experiment.
- 27:28We're gonna throw the craziest crap at this and then see how people react to it.
- 27:32Who's the engineer that said, you know what?
- 27:35I'm gonna make the windshield wiper work like this.
- 27:37Let's see what they think about.
- 27:38Like the whole truck is here.
- 27:40Hold my beer.
- 27:40Right?
- 27:41It makes no sense.
- 27:42But again, these are some of the clearest pictures I've gotten of the windshield
- 27:47wiper, the side mirrors, the headlights, some other things about the truck.
- 27:50And what's also fun about the picture of the Cybertruck just above the pro
- 27:55and con column, look how gross that is.
- 27:58I just, I I was just like shit.
- 28:02Yeah, it looks dirty.
- 28:05It's awful.
- 28:06Like disgusting.
- 28:08It looks like, you know, you haven't washed your car in a
- 28:10month and it gets that grime.
- 28:12That's like streaking down the sides.
- 28:15I'm like, just go look at your stainless steel.
- 28:17Appliances in your kitchen, come on.
- 28:19And that roof line, I mean, it looks like combination Frank Lloyd
- 28:23Wright meets a kindergartner.
- 28:25Like, who wants their car to look like a house in profile?
- 28:29Like, it doesn't make sense.
- 28:30I could make something less angular out of Legos.
- 28:34And with better precision, as we know, than this Cybertruck.
- 28:37Like, oh God, it's terrible.
- 28:39See, it's all misunderstood.
- 28:41The problem is the type of stainless steel they have chosen is magnetic,
- 28:46has slight magnetism to it.
- 28:47Therefore, the metal fallout from everywhere, be it brake dust, Passing
- 28:53a railroad track, factories, they're sprinkling little metal pieces that
- 28:58are attracted to the stainless steel body panels and then they get attached
- 29:03there and that metal is what's rusting.
- 29:06Lies.
- 29:07Not the actual Cybertruck.
- 29:09Yeah, flag on the play.
- 29:10I call bullshit.
- 29:11So even normal painted cars.
- 29:14Have this problem.
- 29:15What I call bullshit.
- 29:16Cause there's nothing that's attracted to the cyber truck.
- 29:21All right.
- 29:21Just go get some barkeepers friend and just polish your thing all the time.
- 29:26Yeah.
- 29:26I guess you can't use like Google on or whatever that the
- 29:29bug stuff is to get rid of it.
- 29:31We just take this back to basics.
- 29:32The whole point of stainless steel is that it's not supposed to rust.
- 29:37The fact that it's rusting indicates to me that it's not stainless steel.
- 29:42It's the stainless steel itself is not rusting.
- 29:46It's the metal that attaches to it.
- 29:47There are deposits of metal that are falling onto the stainless
- 29:52steel body and getting stuck there.
- 29:55And those little pieces of metal are what is rusting and creating
- 29:59the little orange flecks everywhere.
- 30:01Are we on that game show to tell a lie?
- 30:03We're going to tell you three statements.
- 30:05Two of these are true.
- 30:06Yeah.
- 30:06One is a lie.
- 30:07Two truths and a lie.
- 30:09Yeah, this is like, wait, wait, don't tell me now, right?
- 30:11I mean, this is insane.
- 30:12Did DeLorean have these problems?
- 30:15Apparently they did change their grade of stainless steel at one point to
- 30:20make it more repelling, less magnetic.
- 30:23I don't know enough about DeLorean's history because I've never heard, but
- 30:27again, the community is very small.
- 30:28So who's to say?
- 30:29So is the Cybertruck community.
- 30:31It's getting smaller every day.
- 30:32It's getting smaller and smaller.
- 30:35Based on precedent, on all the other things we've learned about Tesla, and
- 30:38all the other adventures that we've been on through TeslaGate over the years.
- 30:41I don't know what to believe.
- 30:43Exactly.
- 30:43And it will come to pass in several years that It's really actually brushed sheet
- 30:48metal posing as stainless steel and the cars are rusting full stop Regardless if
- 30:53I paid a hundred thousand dollars for it.
- 30:55I don't know put an effing clear coat on the stainless steel You think no,
- 30:59you just put a wrap on it defeat the purpose again We're happy to offer you
- 31:03that as an extra fee, there must've been something they could have sealed
- 31:07the panels with to prevent this, if it's truly the industrial fallout.
- 31:12They could have used great stuff because the doors leak
- 31:14like every other Tesla does.
- 31:15Right.
- 31:16The point is more of these issues are coming out.
- 31:18Like we've said, it was kind of rushed to production rushed.
- 31:22Has it been in product?
- 31:22Has it been trying to build for like a decade?
- 31:25Wow.
- 31:27Rushed.
- 31:30We've been rushing it for a decade.
- 31:33Two lies and a truth.
- 31:34Well, there you go.
- 31:35Two truths and a lie.
- 31:37That was clearly the truth.
- 31:40It's unbelievable as it is.
- 31:42No, wait, you have to go back to Brad's foundation edition.
- 31:45You haven't talked about the range it's going to get.
- 31:48This says all prices are shown without incentives or estimated 8, 400.
- 31:55Wait, you're only going to save for seven years?
- 31:58You're And then the gas car is, what?
- 32:00Yeah, because it says a Cybertruck is 900 estimated electricity per year, versus
- 32:06a gasoline car is 2, 100 estimated gas costs at 13, 000 miles, 330 a gallon.
- 32:12Okay.
- 32:13Okay.
- 32:13Let's stop right there.
- 32:1420 miles per gallon.
- 32:15Hold on.
- 32:15Yeah, all that stuff.
- 32:16That's great.
- 32:16That's well and good.
- 32:17But imagine this.
- 32:18You fit in a GR Corolla, right?
- 32:20I do not have any answer for that.
- 32:23They're going to compare it against an F 150, triple duty,
- 32:26quad cab, dendonburg, king range.
- 32:31Shenanigans.
- 32:32Okay.
- 32:32But what I'm saying is for the rest of us normal humans, especially.
- 32:35Especially those of us that are automotive enthusiasts listening to
- 32:38this, the GR series cars are hot.
- 32:40Whether you're into the 86 or the super or the Corolla or the Yaris or any of those,
- 32:44let's just say Toyota's the place to go if you want a hot hatch or a sports car
- 32:48right now from the not American market.
- 32:51So let's just say you pick up a Corolla for 40 grand, Cybertruck's a hundred.
- 32:56You can't tow anything with either of them.
- 32:58You can actually probably get more in the back of that Corolla
- 33:00hatchback than the Cybertruck, right?
- 33:02How much are you actually spending on gas after seven years on a GR Corolla?
- 33:07Even if you bought that special, what is it, the Mitsano edition or whatever that
- 33:11thing is that they have, the special one, add another 10 grand to it, you're still
- 33:15going to come out on top with a gas car.
- 33:17It's sort of like when we would debate diesel versus gas.
- 33:21And people were like, I'm not buying a diesel truck because
- 33:24there's a 20, 000 tax on it.
- 33:26And I'm never going to recoup the amount of diesel because diesel is
- 33:29more expensive, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, all this kind of stuff.
- 33:31I'm wondering if this debate about some of these EVs, especially really
- 33:35expensive ones like this, kind of come out in the wash in the same way.
- 33:38It's diesel versus gas all over again.
- 33:40Is it really worth buying the EV?
- 33:42When you can buy, let's say a couple year old off lease Mercedes Benz that's
- 33:46depreciated, have a really nice car, money left over, how much gas are you
- 33:51going to buy in that seven year period?
- 33:53Let's say if you own a Mercedes.
- 33:55There's a gentleman out there in the world who also, I guess, put
- 33:58a day one reservation in and has his foundation edition Cybertruck,
- 34:02decided to take it on a 27 hour.
- 34:041, 340 mile road trip from Austin, Texas to California, and he had
- 34:10to stop 12 times to recharge it.
- 34:15At 30 minutes of charge, that's, wow, an additional six hours.
- 34:20I'm assuming you took longer than 27 hours then?
- 34:23Yeah, I mean that's like a hundred and eleven miles per chart like
- 34:27what yeah, that's not good.
- 34:30That is terrible so here it says 318 mile range estimated or 340 mile range
- 34:37with the all season tires which are available to purchase So those trucks
- 34:41that you saw may not even have the all terrain, they may just have all seasons.
- 34:45Oh man.
- 34:45Which are not good anyway.
- 34:47And also apparently the truck doesn't fit well to the charger, and so it
- 34:52basically maxes out the cable length.
- 34:54The Tesla chargers barely reach.
- 34:56Charge port.
- 34:57So you have that to contend with.
- 34:58Also, you better back it up real close.
- 35:01That's like the people that pull into the gas station on the wrong
- 35:03side of the pump and then they're dragging it around the side of their
- 35:06car trying to pump it because they don't feel like moving their car.
- 35:09Been there, done that.
- 35:10And then the towing capacity.
- 35:12I thought it was supposed to be over 20, 000 pounds towing.
- 35:14It's only 11.
- 35:15My current truck gets 9, 900.
- 35:17Then there's plenty of other pickups that can do 10, pounds.
- 35:21Yeah.
- 35:21How about anything?
- 35:22Diesel can do easily 15, 20.
- 35:25So Brad, do you remember when we gave you the option, you know, when
- 35:28you're still trying to sell, well, Oh wait, you are still trying to
- 35:31sell your cyber truck allotment.
- 35:32When we talked about the Plyber truck, do you remember that one?
- 35:36Yes, the one that was built on an MDX.
- 35:39Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:40It was quality, right?
- 35:41It was, yeah, quality.
- 35:44It was Ikea quality.
- 35:45Dude, those panel gaps were really, really nice.
- 35:48Okay, you remember we've talked before.
- 35:50There's been other people that have made cars out of wood, right?
- 35:53That guy that, you know, restored his Doshibo out of wood.
- 35:57There's a guy that made a Ferrari out of wood.
- 35:59And, but there's this dude in Vietnam that seems to just have a real knack
- 36:02for building replicas of vehicles.
- 36:04He's at it again, and he built a wooden Cybertruck.
- 36:08I don't know what it's based on, but he said he was going to send it to Elon
- 36:13because quote, I am aware that Tesla has faced its share of challenges in
- 36:18bringing the Cybertruck to fruition.
- 36:20However, I maintain unwavering faith in your vision and capabilities of Tesla.
- 36:26I hope to have the honor of gifting this wooden Cybertruck to you and
- 36:30Tesla to wish you and Tesla continued success and to maintain your
- 36:34position in the international arena.
- 36:36This guy's super nice.
- 36:38He spent 15 grand on this thing.
- 36:40It looks better than the real thing.
- 36:42Oh my God.
- 36:43He built a wooden ATV with it.
- 36:45Yeah, man.
- 36:46Guy's legit.
- 36:47It's tube frame.
- 36:48This thing's awesome.
- 36:49I would pay 15 grand for this as a side by side.
- 36:52That's the real Plybertruck right there.
- 36:54Here's the deal.
- 36:54Elon actually responded to this guy and Tanya, would you like to
- 36:58tell the audience what he said?
- 37:00He has these eloquent emails that he sent out that have been leaked to the public
- 37:04and things like he's, you know, He's got a great way of presenting things.
- 37:06He has a way with words.
- 37:08I will say that.
- 37:08Absolutely.
- 37:09Marketing genius.
- 37:10So what did he say in response to this gentleman?
- 37:13Sure.
- 37:13Much appreciated.
- 37:14I was surprised you didn't go here, Tanya, but we're gonna go here now
- 37:17because his reaction was so benign.
- 37:20Sure.
- 37:21Much appreciated.
- 37:22Because what he should have really said is what he said on Twitter.
- 37:25What was that in response to?
- 37:26I don't even remember because it could have applied to so many things.
- 37:29It was stupid and it went viral.
- 37:31I forget what it was and he responded to some It was some interview or
- 37:34something and he told the guy to go F himself and I'm just like But it was
- 37:37on Twitter, which is a platform that everybody's been bailing ship like
- 37:41rats off the Titanic I don't really care, but I thought it was hilarious.
- 37:45Go Elon.
- 37:47Whoo cares.
- 37:47He was responding to advertisers boycotting X That's a good way to get your
- 37:51advertisers back X gonna give it to you.
- 37:55That's the marketing campaign right there X gonna give it to you X marks the spot
- 37:59a man with so many things to say then that's it I mean this guy went out of
- 38:02his way to build this beautiful Plymouth truck All jokes aside, it is really nice.
- 38:07What he should do is share with Elon Musk, his manufacturing process.
- 38:11Cause a hundred days, I feel like that's going to beat cyber truck
- 38:15manufacturing in Duluth times.
- 38:18It looks really good too.
- 38:20I would totally buy it.
- 38:22It looks kind of small though, but it looks good.
- 38:24I like it.
- 38:24I think it's the scale.
- 38:25I think it's that it's not stainless steel, that it looks smaller than
- 38:28it really is, and because it's not stainless steel, you know
- 38:30what else it has going for it?
- 38:31No smudge marks and you can clean it with pledge.
- 38:35It's a modern day Morgan.
- 38:37Lemony fresh.
- 38:38Yes, lemony fresh.
- 38:39Well, Brad, you know, when you do take delivery of your Cybertruck,
- 38:43you're gonna have to celebrate.
- 38:44Celebrate my ass.
- 38:46I would celebrate with a divorce if I take delivery of this truck.
- 38:49You're gonna celebrate something one way or the other.
- 38:51So let's just say you need to celebrate with a case.
- 38:55of cyber beer.
- 38:56Oh my God, the angles on that bottle, right?
- 38:59According to this, it says Tesla super fans are complaining about the 150
- 39:05cyber beer, calling it hot garbage and posting pictures of rusty bottle caps.
- 39:10It does look like complete swill.
- 39:13It looks like someone pissed on a bottle.
- 39:14Let's say you're partying a little too hard in your garage by yourself.
- 39:19Well, then your cyber truck can drive you home.
- 39:20Well, yeah, that's true.
- 39:21Self driving until it runs into a wall or a fire truck.
- 39:26Did you know, if you spill your beer on your cyber truck, you can now get renewed.
- 39:33Cyber shield cleaned it up with?
- 39:35Wow.
- 39:36I mean, I would have just gone with Windex.
- 39:38Oh no, stainless steel, barkeeper's friend.
- 39:41Yeah, barkeeper's friend.
- 39:42That's what you should use on them.
- 39:44But no, special cyber shield.
- 39:46But the big question is, and this next article had me laughing, and
- 39:49I thought of Tanya when I read it.
- 39:51Does the cyber shield, which is a cleaning and protective layer, blah,
- 39:54blah, blah, all these wonderful heat protection products and chemicals we
- 39:58have these days, you know, graphene and carbon ceramic and all this stuff.
- 40:01But the question is, does it actually protect against bird shit?
- 40:06Because reports are coming in that bird droppings can actually ruin the
- 40:10stainless steel finish of the cyber truck.
- 40:12So Brad, you had to worry in the past about birds.
- 40:15Sitting on a tree ranch and pooping on your golf.
- 40:17Now it could burn a hole in the stainless steel of your Cybertruck.
- 40:20How did DeLorean get away with it?
- 40:23None of them ran.
- 40:23They were all parked in garages, I guess.
- 40:25See, you answered your own question exactly.
- 40:27Well, then you just take it to the factory and have them replace the body panel that
- 40:31got damaged for thousands of dollars.
- 40:33So what happens in the winter?
- 40:35Because obviously there's bird droppings are maybe acidic or whatnot and, you
- 40:41know, over time could corrode or oxidize.
- 40:44the stainless steel because it's not impermeable to things, but like salt
- 40:48is not that good on stainless steel.
- 40:50You get that nice crust on the salt on the stainless steel.
- 40:53And sometimes in poor quality stainless steel, and you'll see it in like cookware,
- 40:57when you throw salt in the water to boil the water for pasta and things like that,
- 41:01you can actually Pitting that happens.
- 41:03Yeah.
- 41:03On the bottom of the pan when you put the salt in at the improper
- 41:06time and things like that.
- 41:07So in the wintertime, when they've put the brine and all that stuff down on
- 41:10the roads and you're driving around and you can't wash the car right away
- 41:14'cause it's 17 degrees outside, you're gonna go out and it's gonna be like Fred
- 41:17Flintstone and you're gonna be able to see through the doors and the fdo, I
- 41:21mean, I said it before people, you have stainless steel appliances in your home,
- 41:26the fridge, the stove, the dishwasher.
- 41:28You get a drop of water on it, two minutes later, the thing looks
- 41:31like you vomited all over it.
- 41:33And you're sitting there buffing it every two minutes so that
- 41:35it's shiny and nice looking.
- 41:37But you have carbon ceramic graphene shield spray on car
- 41:41detailers to take care of all that.
- 41:42Okay.
- 41:43And then when the rock chip hits it and breaks that coating and then the surface
- 41:48is exposed, it can start looking like.
- 41:50When your wheels pit after a while.
- 41:52The cancer that happens on some boot coatings.
- 41:55To think that bird droppings could ruin the finish isn't unfathomable.
- 42:00That's not unheard of because droppings, if you leave it on a regular painted
- 42:04car, will eat through the clear coat after a while and can cause Well, not
- 42:10only that, in talking to DeLorean owners and listening to how they do car care
- 42:13and stuff, there is a certain way to clean the stainless, and to your point,
- 42:18Barkeeper's Friend and some other of these household cleaners is the way to
- 42:21go, but you also have to remember that you need to grain the stainless steel.
- 42:25No kidding!
- 42:26Done in a get swirl on regular paint.
- 42:29Now, a Brillo pad, you see what happens if you use, like, even a soft, thing
- 42:33sometimes on cookware, God forbid, like you're rubbing it with something that has
- 42:37some sort of grit that you don't realize, you're going to have massive swirl marks.
- 42:41It's going to look terrible.
- 42:42Maybe all our concerns are completely unfounded and
- 42:46unwarranted and we just don't know.
- 42:48We talked about the Cybertruck and how the stainless steel and care
- 42:52and maintenance of all that stuff.
- 42:53Tesla is making this move now, and I think it's a cost thing.
- 42:57Saving maneuver because painting a car is actually very expensive.
- 43:01People are like, ah, just paint the car and, you know, clear coat it.
- 43:03So paint shops can cost multiples of millions of dollars to do that.
- 43:08And now they're talking about wrapping their cars coming from the factory.
- 43:12So you can pick a wrap, you know, whatever style you want, all this kind of thing.
- 43:15And reports are coming in that the wrap quality might be as bad as the paint.
- 43:21This costs 8, 000 and that's cheaper than a paint job.
- 43:25Because if you went to somebody third party and had it painted, I'd think you
- 43:29could paint your car for that under that.
- 43:31But that's with a team of folks and you got to count the
- 43:33labor hours and the prep time.
- 43:34Yeah, so on your freaking assembly line, it should be more cost effective.
- 43:39It's cheaper to wrap because the one robot can do the whole car in one shot.
- 43:43They prime it, wrap it, it's out.
- 43:45If you have to do multi stage painting and then the time it takes
- 43:49to cure the paint, Clear the paint, buff the paint, finish the paint.
- 43:53Man, nowadays they turn around a paint job in like a frickin day.
- 43:57And they're terrible.
- 43:58If only there was a car manufacturing process that really zeroed in and
- 44:03just had this process down of making cars mass produced and painting them
- 44:09and getting them through assembly and to the market really quickly.
- 44:13Has anybody been able to do that yet?
- 44:15Not in a hundred years, my friend.
- 44:17Here you go.
- 44:18And this article even says you could go to a local body shop who
- 44:21could wrap a compact crossover car for size comparison for 3, 500.
- 44:26So what are they charging you for eight grand?
- 44:27That seems really expensive for what you're getting.
- 44:30Cyber wrap.
- 44:31I'm sorry.
- 44:32Like I'm pretty sure the assembly line paint job would be cheaper.
- 44:35But think about it.
- 44:36You can get your cyber truck wrapped.
- 44:38In a stainless steel wrap, then you don't get the fingerprints on
- 44:42it, but it still looks the same.
- 44:43Yeah.
- 44:43And then apparently people are complaining that there's bubbles and
- 44:46like missing pieces to the, to the wrap.
- 44:49So the robots need to be Lego robots that can go to 0.
- 44:560000001 micron tolerance when they layer the wrap on your car.
- 44:59But think about it this way.
- 45:00If you wrap the Cybertruck, it solves the panel gap problem because
- 45:04you wrap right up for the gaps.
- 45:06And now they're sealed, and it looks like one smooth panel.
- 45:09He has solved the problem.
- 45:10And then when you open the door, the whole wrap rips apart.
- 45:14It looks like the wraps are ripping apart anyway.
- 45:16Well, yeah.
- 45:18No, no, no.
- 45:18It's a distressed look.
- 45:20Oh, it's distressed.
- 45:22It's patina.
- 45:24It's all the rage now.
- 45:25It's antiquing.
- 45:27I'm going to save my 8, 000.
- 45:29I'm going to go to Mako and I'm going to get the 350 on sale holiday paint job.
- 45:36God, what a mess.
- 45:37I'm not suggesting you go that cheap on your paint job, but there's
- 45:41something in between 350 and 8, 000.
- 45:45What are we up to next?
- 45:46Yeah.
- 45:46Tesla raps about his paint job stuff.
- 45:48So how about this?
- 45:49What about a Cybertruck that's been polished to within an inch of its life?
- 45:53Pretty cool.
- 45:54Whoever did this, mirror like finish.
- 45:57Yeah.
- 45:58It's almost camouflage when you look at it.
- 46:00So very Wraith, stealth, Knight Rider.
- 46:02Is it worth 150, 000?
- 46:04Is it worth an extra 50, 000?
- 46:06No.
- 46:07How dirty does that get?
- 46:09I don't even know what to say.
- 46:11But that is how people are dealing with these cyber trucks wraps.
- 46:15I have seen some black ones cause I guess the raptor or whatever, and they
- 46:19do look like the Wraith at that point.
- 46:20They're, they're pretty creepy going down the road.
- 46:22Yeah.
- 46:23I don't think the cyber truck looks good in any color.
- 46:26We can paint it blue.
- 46:27I mean, you paint yellow or, you know, these M and M colors that exist on, let's
- 46:31say the Mopars and the Fords and stuff.
- 46:33There's no way the body shape, it just doesn't work.
- 46:36It is cool.
- 46:37It's different.
- 46:38I mean, it is hyper polished.
- 46:39It looks like a mirror.
- 46:41I don't know that I would want that either.
- 46:43Nope.
- 46:44Shaq said he needed another car, and what did he buy?
- 46:47Cybertruck.
- 46:48See, Brad?
- 46:49He's another happy Cybertruck owner.
- 46:51This is what irritated me.
- 46:52However, it's I guess a one of a kind, because it is a carbon fiber Cybertruck.
- 46:58So, Mr.
- 46:59O'Neil is actually a little bit intelligent, because he went, Eh, I
- 47:03don't want this stainless steel trash.
- 47:07I will pay quadruple for carbon fiber.
- 47:09That's a lot of carbon.
- 47:10I don't want to be out here buffing this thing.
- 47:12It still weighs 8, 000 pounds instead of 9, 000 pounds though.
- 47:16They should have made the cyber truck out of carbon fiber.
- 47:18That would have been more cyber.
- 47:20That would have been more futuristic to have a street car that wasn't a
- 47:23hyper car made out of carbon fiber.
- 47:25They could have made it out of Kevlar, so the whole thing was not bulletproof.
- 47:28Carbon Kevlar is not new.
- 47:29They did that in the 80s on like Audis and Ferraris and stuff.
- 47:32Stainless steel ain't new either, so he wasn't going for that.
- 47:36No, we'd straight back to the 80s on that too.
- 47:38It's still ugly, but I like the red light in the front though.
- 47:40I think it looks cool.
- 47:41It's murdered out.
- 47:42I've seen a cyber truck like this like blacked out in my area.
- 47:45Here, the guy wrapped it.
- 47:46It's still ugly, but it looks better than the stainless.
- 47:49It's better than it was, but it's still polishing a turd.
- 47:52We're just not happy.
- 47:53We're grumpy curmudgeon screaming at the clouds.
- 47:56Everybody's going, you don't understand why the Cybertruck is so awesome.
- 47:59It's just as funny as these memes.
- 48:01Yeah.
- 48:01I think to that point, this is going to be a golden age for our show.
- 48:05Cause we can rag on the Cybertruck with all the new articles.
- 48:08about how terrible it is for years to come in perpetuity.
- 48:12How do you want to give them airtime?
- 48:14Well, we're going to do it for the rest of this episode.
- 48:17So guess what?
- 48:18So I'm reading about bird shit on the cyber truck and next across my desk, I
- 48:22get this from the onion, which I know is a farce, but it cracked me up about
- 48:27pressure, washing the cyber truck.
- 48:29And they basically CGI or AI rendered.
- 48:32The Cybertruck just getting obliterated by a power washer,
- 48:36and I just thought it was funny.
- 48:38The Cybertruck is obviously the new, quote, hotness.
- 48:42So it's top of mind, finally after 16, 000 years, it's in production.
- 48:4916 minutes after being in production.
- 48:51Oh my god.
- 48:52It's already recalled.
- 48:55Oh my god, this is so fucking stupid.
- 48:59And you know, it's like a silly recalled.
- 49:01I mean, it's a serious.
- 49:02It's a serious thing, but it's also silly at the same time.
- 49:06When we've gone through this, we've seen this before.
- 49:09It's the reason why all cars now have the little clips on the floor mats, is
- 49:15because unfortunately Toyota had to learn this painful lesson of what can happen
- 49:20in the footwell if something Lodges and gets the accelerator pedal stuck.
- 49:26The car keeps accelerating.
- 49:27But Tesla marches to the beat of their own drum.
- 49:30Just want to point out the Germans had carpet clips in the 90s.
- 49:33It's not new.
- 49:34Yes, but it wasn't until there was a problem.
- 49:38Yeah, but their carpet, their carpet clips cost 15, 000.
- 49:42Well, it's the little nubs.
- 49:43Underneath the carpet that have been, you know, solidly holding carpet in place for
- 49:48ages bolted in from underneath the car.
- 49:51And then the only way to get them out is engine out 100 percent service position
- 49:55for your format is engine out in a beetle.
- 49:57Yes, everything is out in a beetle.
- 49:59Well, the sad thing is, you'd think that the little things like this,
- 50:04and this isn't a format issue yet, if this is worse, this is much worse.
- 50:09No, this is the accelerator pedal falling off issue.
- 50:12Not the whole pedal though, just the cover.
- 50:14Just the slide on cover.
- 50:17And apparently it's a glue issue.
- 50:19The glue, the temperature, I think, something.
- 50:23I don't even remember because I don't care.
- 50:25They're using Elmer's!
- 50:26That's what's wrong.
- 50:28Yes.
- 50:29They left Home Depot because shit was too expensive.
- 50:31They went to Target and bought Elmer's from the school supply section.
- 50:36And then they're using that on this pedal.
- 50:38It was back to school sales at the beginning of the year.
- 50:42It was discount.
- 50:42No tax on the glue.
- 50:45Yeah.
- 50:45Yeah.
- 50:46They bought out the entire like, Southwest region, it literally
- 50:50says on the bottle, Elmer's blue, all it's pretty straightforward.
- 50:55It glues all right.
- 50:57No, not your, whatever this accelerator pedal is even made of.
- 51:01I don't even know, probably plastic, maybe a little bit of stainless steel
- 51:05left over pieces that they reformed.
- 51:07There's no wood in there.
- 51:08No wood in this one.
- 51:09I know I read somewhere that they were attributing it to in the
- 51:13production line, something with the temperature that he said wasn't right.
- 51:17And then it didn't set or something.
- 51:20So basically when you're mashing down the accelerator pedal, you end up
- 51:24sliding the cover off and then it jams into what would be, hold on a second.
- 51:31What kind of troglodyte.
- 51:33It's pressing the accelerator pedal like Donkey Kong.
- 51:37Hey, hey, hey, some of us have big feet and we can't control it.
- 51:42No, no, no.
- 51:42Okay, because to the point of the Toyota incident, I am using the inappropriate
- 51:48rubber floor mats in one of my vehicles.
- 51:50Meaning that they don't clip in to the clips, and I am constantly
- 51:55actually pulling the format back sometimes while I'm driving, just
- 51:59by virtue of my feet being there.
- 52:01I'm not even doing anything, but by virtue of my feet being on top of it,
- 52:05there's enough I'm not pressing down on it, but it does slide forward constantly.
- 52:10So I could see that a loose little bullshit cover on the
- 52:13pedal, especially it's the type of pedal that's on the floor.
- 52:16Then you kind of have that weird motion of you making your foot go up anyway.
- 52:21So.
- 52:21I think it would be easy to have that cover come off and then it jams
- 52:25into what would be the transmission tunnel if it had one, right?
- 52:29So that center console piece like jams in there and it keeps the
- 52:33accelerator depressed and somebody apparently had it happen to them and
- 52:37they hit a pole with their, allegedly.
- 52:39I thought they called that ludicrous mode.
- 52:41I don't know if the Cybertruck has ludicrous mode, but that
- 52:44was ludicrous to have happened.
- 52:46Well, I love the fix.
- 52:47Can we get to the fix?
- 52:48The fix is on par with everything, right?
- 52:52I mean, I personally would love to spend a hundred thousand dollars on a car
- 52:56to have the glue not set correctly and then have the fix be a frickin rivet.
- 53:01I would like to point out I did research.
- 53:03Just like the Model Y, you can go to your local Home Depot, aisle
- 53:0813, bay 26, and buy a packet of rivets for like a couple dollars.
- 53:15Home Depot!
- 53:16Does a rivet work?
- 53:17Sure.
- 53:18Is it aesthetically pleasing anymore?
- 53:20I mean, not to say that it was to begin with without the rivet.
- 53:23The rivet could be an improvement.
- 53:25I don't know.
- 53:25Or for the course of the Cybertruck, but you know.
- 53:27You just spent a hundred thousand dollars on a car and
- 53:30that's how they're gonna fix it?
- 53:32They're just gonna be like, oh yeah.
- 53:34I mean, not to open this can of worms again, but this is what I keep saying.
- 53:37saying everybody oohs and ahs over these vehicles and the build quality
- 53:42is variable from car to car and it is not on par with the hundred year old
- 53:48manufacturers pick one chevy ford fiat audi volkswagen porsche it doesn't matter
- 53:54let's talk about build quality you can't get these wet jesus So they keep focusing
- 54:00on car washes or washing your car.
- 54:02But I'm like, so what happens when it rains and the car gets wet?
- 54:07It's shorting out the electronics temporarily and you gotta like
- 54:10wait hours for it to reboot.
- 54:12Doesn't rain that often in California where they build the Cybertruck?
- 54:16Well, no, they built it in Austin, didn't they?
- 54:18Again, does it rain in Austin?
- 54:20Yes, it rains in Texas.
- 54:22Lies, lies, fake news.
- 54:25In the hill country, actually, where it's quite green, they do get some water.
- 54:29Lies!
- 54:30And when the hurricanes come through, they get the remnants of the rain from those.
- 54:33At any rate, I couldn't find it.
- 54:34I thought I saw something going into the whole car wash thing.
- 54:38Where it's like, don't, don't take it to the car wash.
- 54:41And make sure if you take it to the car wash that it has to be some sort
- 54:44of like, no drive mode or something.
- 54:47And it basically like, shuts down.
- 54:49It like, locks the charge port.
- 54:51It disengages.
- 54:51It disengages.
- 54:52the wipers apparently like what is what what and then it like locks the doors and
- 54:58all this stuff and then there's like a roll mode so it's distant i don't i don't
- 55:02know anyway but the article was a guy i think who washed out the bed and then
- 55:06he ended up like bricking the truck for a while turned back on and i thought i
- 55:12saw something going into that Where they showed, I guess water was going under the
- 55:17bed somehow and then getting like stuck in frame rails or something like that.
- 55:20And then I guess whatever, wiring maybe?
- 55:22I don't know.
- 55:22Don't quote me.
- 55:23I saw it briefly and I didn't, I closed it and I don't remember
- 55:26how to find the article again.
- 55:28But I'm just like, that's wild.
- 55:30You think about it.
- 55:30I've seen people wash their trucks with a power washer.
- 55:33Why wouldn't you power wash a stainless steel truck?
- 55:36Because the people that power wash their regular trucks aren't buying cyber trucks.
- 55:39The people that are buying cyber trucks, they're going to take them
- 55:42to their car wash down the street.
- 55:44They're not going to wash it in their driveway.
- 55:46To your point.
- 55:46It's like, there's so many other cars on the road that can get wet.
- 55:51It's not a problem.
- 55:52Like, I think we've figured out how to send a car through a car wash
- 55:56and not have it be catastrophic.
- 56:00What?
- 56:01Again, you spent 100, 000 on a car that.
- 56:04You can't get wet.
- 56:06You can't drive after midnight.
- 56:07Like, oh, is it a gremlin?
- 56:09Like, Yeah, you don't, you don't get it wet after midnight.
- 56:14And not the AMC.
- 56:15Yeah.
- 56:16The eighties movie, the gremlin.
- 56:17Oh my God.
- 56:18Who is taking their cyber truck to the car wash though?
- 56:21Because do you just wash stainless steel?
- 56:24I thought you just kind of wipe it down with a diaper or something.
- 56:27Well, no.
- 56:27So if you go on Tesla's website, there's a whole like page scrolling of how
- 56:33to clean the exterior of the thing.
- 56:35And it's like, don't use this.
- 56:37Don't use that.
- 56:38Don't do it in the sunlight.
- 56:40Don't do it after you've eaten.
- 56:42Wait 30 minutes.
- 56:49You can only do it on the day of the full moon in Feb, Tober.
- 56:54Yeah.
- 56:54Like what?
- 56:55There's like wild notes in here too.
- 56:57And this is.
- 56:57From the Tesla website.
- 56:59Okay, this is legit stuff.
- 57:01Don't use alcohol on the headlights.
- 57:03I'm like, why?
- 57:04What are the headlights made out of?
- 57:06Alcohol evaporates.
- 57:07Because your beer will rust the stainless steel.
- 57:09Ah, okay.
- 57:10Wrong alcohol.
- 57:11There was also a thing in here that was like, oh, if I could find it again,
- 57:14it was like, yeah, yeah, here it is.
- 57:16Do not aim water hoses.
- 57:18Okay, so like if you're washing your car and you have the garden hose, right?
- 57:20It's like don't aim the water hose directly at the windows.
- 57:24Wait, aren't these those indestructible bulletproof things?
- 57:27Windows?
- 57:27I can't aim a garden hose at?
- 57:31Like what?
- 57:32Now I don't think it's the glass itself because then it's
- 57:35The door or the hood seals.
- 57:37I think they leak.
- 57:37So don't get it wet, basically.
- 57:40There's a higher probability of Apex seals in an RX 7 sealing better than
- 57:46those window seals in the Cybertruck.
- 57:49Apparently.
- 57:50And then it killed me at one of the things, like the recommended way to
- 57:53like, to clean the stainless steel.
- 57:55Again, this is from Tesla.
- 57:58Unreal.
- 57:58I know you've written some articles about how to clean your car,
- 58:02and we've had the wax people on.
- 58:04I feel like even if you're not the most into detailing, you know this.
- 58:10And given it's stainless steel, it's said that you use a circular motion.
- 58:15And I'm like, Have you ever cleaned a stainless steel pot
- 58:22if you have anything abrasive?
- 58:24A circular motion.
- 58:26Oh my god.
- 58:27I mean even on a painted car you don't really want to use a circular motion
- 58:31in case there's something gritty there because you will leave swirl marks.
- 58:35You always go quote unquote with the grain so it's less noticeable.
- 58:42Oh my god.
- 58:44Since we're talking about cleaning, I included an additional article here.
- 58:48It goes back to the, you know, why the trucks are rusting because it's
- 58:51from February and it's not about that.
- 58:53I included it because I wanted you guys to see these pictures.
- 58:56I don't know if somebody urinated on this vehicle, vomited on this vehicle or what.
- 59:02But this is why they look terrible.
- 59:05Like all the pictures in this article from Wired, oh my god, this thing looks so bad.
- 59:11Awful.
- 59:12Oh yeah, no, no, no.
- 59:12Absolutely awful.
- 59:13It looks like your appliance is in your Like this was the first thing I said.
- 59:17Do you not know when you have water splashing like the dishwasher or your
- 59:22stove because it happens people you go reach for the towel that's either
- 59:26hanging on your dishwasher rack or you know bar or on the stove oven
- 59:30door bar water hits the surface and it looks like Garbage after two seconds.
- 59:35I will say this.
- 59:36Now, this is an argument for something that I just recently tested.
- 59:39So if you go back into the April catalog, you'll see that Don from
- 59:42Garage Style and I did an episode with Dan Williams from Owner's Pride.
- 59:46And their eco wash is designed for low water conditions and all this kind
- 59:53of stuff, and I was like, you know, I'm going to try it because until I
- 59:56understand it and get a bottle and read it and kind of mess with it, I'm not
- 59:59going to really understand how it works.
- 1:00:01I tell you what.
- 1:00:02I think that soap is perfect for the Cybertruck, and here's why.
- 1:00:06I did it on two different vehicles, and I was absolutely astounded by the results.
- 1:00:10Literally a cap full, and I'm talking about like a Pepsi bottle cap full that
- 1:00:15you would get on like, you know, out of the 7 Eleven case, full of this soap.
- 1:00:18to three gallons of water.
- 1:00:20Rinse the car if you want.
- 1:00:21Don't.
- 1:00:22It doesn't matter.
- 1:00:23It comes out the same.
- 1:00:24I washed our van and I washed the jeep using the eco wash with
- 1:00:29only three gallons of water.
- 1:00:30I didn't rinse the car before.
- 1:00:32Did the whole thing.
- 1:00:33Used up all three gallons of water that I had.
- 1:00:35Didn't rinse it afterward.
- 1:00:36It looked as clean as if I had done it the traditional way or went to the car wash.
- 1:00:40Unbelievably good.
- 1:00:42One of those things that until I tried it, I wasn't convinced, but in the case
- 1:00:46of the Cybertruck, I could see something like EcoWash being perfect for it.
- 1:00:51So there is a section on waterless wash.
- 1:00:54You got a hand wash using a non ionic pH neutral waterless wash with
- 1:00:59a high quality microfiber towel.
- 1:01:01It sounds like that waterless shampoo.
- 1:01:03And I was thinking the same thing again, three gallons of
- 1:01:06water to a cap full of soap.
- 1:01:07I did both cars, three gallons a piece.
- 1:01:09Transcribed But I was thinking about it.
- 1:01:10If you're in a situation in California where water conservation is important,
- 1:01:14you know, they have drought conditions.
- 1:01:15Don't water your lawn.
- 1:01:16Don't use a car wash.
- 1:01:17The eco wash is perfect.
- 1:01:19But then obviously taking it to the next logical conclusion, if you really can't
- 1:01:23get the cyber truck wet, sort of like washing a cat, I suppose this is perfect,
- 1:01:28this is something I would recommend in all seriousness to cyber truck owners
- 1:01:33to use, I recommend getting rid of the truck, or you could just Spot clean using
- 1:01:39a glass cleaner and microfiber cloth.
- 1:01:41Spray the glass cleaner and wipe in a zig zag motion.
- 1:01:44Oh my god.
- 1:01:46Oh my goodness.
- 1:01:48Oh.
- 1:01:49So many rules with this truck.
- 1:01:50It's wild.
- 1:01:51And basically, the other rules are immediately clean the surface.
- 1:01:55So bird poops on it, pull over.
- 1:01:59Get your glass cleaner and zigzag it off.
- 1:02:01Don't want to create scratches because it's going to scratch.
- 1:02:04Now there is a solution to this problem.
- 1:02:06Don't buy cyberpunk.
- 1:02:07It's called paint.
- 1:02:07It's called the 5, 000 clear coat.
- 1:02:11Oh my god.
- 1:02:12Why?
- 1:02:12It's not standard.
- 1:02:14You can't rattle can it?
- 1:02:15You could, why not?
- 1:02:16You could paint it.
- 1:02:17Although.
- 1:02:18It might short out.
- 1:02:19I don't know what happens with the paint.
- 1:02:22Well, I would say paint over the glass to just seal everything in and call it a day.
- 1:02:27Prevent any future leaks.
- 1:02:28I think the best solution is to trade your Cybertruck in for a Rivian.
- 1:02:32A Fisker.
- 1:02:33So there's still more Tesla.
- 1:02:34This one's even better.
- 1:02:35Better.
- 1:02:36There's more slus.
- 1:02:37Oh, something we haven't talked about much this year at all, because
- 1:02:41a cyber truck is without fault.
- 1:02:43Oh, it is infallible.
- 1:02:46Like anything Elon touches is a turd meets the expectations, is
- 1:02:52totally in line with the promises.
- 1:02:54I'll say again, a turd works to the utmost degree, like a fricking Swiss timepiece.
- 1:03:00That's how well these things work.
- 1:03:01So recall.
- 1:03:02The windows, right?
- 1:03:03Back however many years ago it was now.
- 1:03:06The baseball.
- 1:03:08Oh, they're, you know, armor plate glass that can withstand
- 1:03:12bullets, blah blah blah.
- 1:03:13I'll show you by lobbing this baseball at it with my untrained,
- 1:03:18unprofessional slow ball.
- 1:03:20shatter.
- 1:03:21Oh, it was a fluke, it was this and the other, you know, this is still the
- 1:03:25prototype, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:03:27So then why now that we're in production with 3, 000 of these or
- 1:03:32whatever the production rate is?
- 1:03:3411, 000 were recalled.
- 1:03:35That's right.
- 1:03:36We did say it was 11, 000.
- 1:03:38So good job.
- 1:03:39They're all in the parking lot somewhere.
- 1:03:40This is probably going to be another recall.
- 1:03:42Maybe, I don't know.
- 1:03:43At any rate, some poor individual who spent 100, 000 on this car
- 1:03:47left it parked wherever and the impenetrable unsinkable cyber truck,
- 1:03:51heard that one before, it's like the Titanic with its shatterproof glass.
- 1:03:55The thief rolled up to it, tried back the window a little bit.
- 1:04:00Because it's frameless.
- 1:04:01I want to point it out.
- 1:04:02The door is frameless.
- 1:04:04So this would happen with any car with a frameless.
- 1:04:07Yes.
- 1:04:07So we won't fault the frameless part.
- 1:04:09I'm not faulting the frameless part.
- 1:04:11It's a lack of notification.
- 1:04:12Well, I don't even fault that because honestly, if you jimmy a
- 1:04:15little bit, I don't think anyone's cars are that sensitive that.
- 1:04:19They're going to sound the alarm yet.
- 1:04:20But the shattered window.
- 1:04:22Did the window shatter?
- 1:04:23Because the window peeled back like an onion layer.
- 1:04:30And so people were up in arms about how, to your point, there
- 1:04:33was no alarm notification.
- 1:04:35I wasn't told my car was being robbed.
- 1:04:37The alarm didn't go off.
- 1:04:38I'm like, what alarm's going off?
- 1:04:39This thing like rolled up like a paper towel.
- 1:04:41It didn't even know the window was open.
- 1:04:43Where's the sensor?
- 1:04:44Suddenly the air current changed into the vehicle, but it was the door wasn't open.
- 1:04:49That's the sensor.
- 1:04:49I don't know Is it worth saying that the thief was in a Nissan Altima?
- 1:04:53Yes.
- 1:04:54Are you serious?
- 1:04:55Yeah But the picture of this Peeled down window is just wild, wild.
- 1:05:05You wouldn't be able to do that on any other.
- 1:05:07No.
- 1:05:08And I think it has to do with the fact that it's safety glass.
- 1:05:11So it has that coating on it.
- 1:05:12So it's not supposed to shatter and all that, but in thinking about previous
- 1:05:16Tesla's that I've been in, remember, I told you guys that story about when I
- 1:05:18was in Tampa and how that Tesla model Y tried to choke me because the door seal
- 1:05:23ended up falling on my head as I was getting out and all this kind of thing.
- 1:05:26If the seals are that bad on a Cybertruck, and with all those
- 1:05:30angles, you don't need a pry bar.
- 1:05:32You probably could put your fingers in there and pull the window back.
- 1:05:36Probably what he did.
- 1:05:37Which is a lot harder to do on other cars, even on a frameless door car,
- 1:05:41which we've owned some over the years.
- 1:05:43It's pretty tight in there, and usually the window goes up into a cavity.
- 1:05:47Yes.
- 1:05:47Where it seals inside of that door seal.
- 1:05:50Even though it doesn't have a frame to say that the build quality is
- 1:05:54maybe not quite where it should be.
- 1:05:56And all those weird angles might add an extra layer of, I don't know, weakness
- 1:06:02or entry point or attack vector.
- 1:06:04We'll call it that, you know, I don't know, but I guess this
- 1:06:07guy proved the hypothesis.
- 1:06:09Tesla's recall fix is going to be going down to the local Home Depot
- 1:06:13and getting some rebar to build a frame for your frameless door.
- 1:06:18Just caulk it shut.
- 1:06:19Just get a couple of tubes of caulk.
- 1:06:20Your answer usually, I would just get some caulk.
- 1:06:22I was going to say caulk, but I decided to go with the rebar.
- 1:06:25Yeah.
- 1:06:25I'd like to spend a hundred thousand dollars on a vehicle
- 1:06:27that I can peel the glass back on.
- 1:06:29But we've covered all that before.
- 1:06:33We actually have new news about the Cybertruck and Tanya, this
- 1:06:38one literally blows my mind.
- 1:06:40This takes the cake.
- 1:06:41Would you like to inform our audience on what this latest development
- 1:06:45in Cybertruck nonsense is?
- 1:06:47We covered that last time.
- 1:06:48I'm talking about the shifter.
- 1:06:50Do you guys know where the shifter is?
- 1:06:51Oh, I heard it's like in the visor or something.
- 1:06:55Yes.
- 1:06:55Who designed this thing?
- 1:06:59Designed by a crazy person.
- 1:07:01Who puts transmission shifter buttons In the sun visor.
- 1:07:05Oh, it's in the center.
- 1:07:07It's like where your rear view mirror would be.
- 1:07:09But the thing is, it's like one of the most highly touched
- 1:07:12areas in the car, right?
- 1:07:13The sun visor, the rear view mirror, and the steering wheel.
- 1:07:16No, this isn't.
- 1:07:17If you look at the picture, this isn't a highly touched area because This thing
- 1:07:21doesn't have a rear view mirror in it.
- 1:07:23Instead of rear view mirror, you have this button panel.
- 1:07:26So it's really not a high touch area.
- 1:07:28Why would you put it there?
- 1:07:30I wouldn't put it there.
- 1:07:30I'm not defending its location there, but given what they've removed to place
- 1:07:35it there, it actually is not a high touch area, which just goes more to the
- 1:07:40shoddy craftsmanship if it falls out without you even needing to touch it.
- 1:07:44What I'm talking about in the high touch area, You're constantly moving that visor.
- 1:07:47You're messing around with the visor and then your transmission
- 1:07:50shifter falls out and stops working.
- 1:07:52I mean, who in their right mind thought this was a good idea.
- 1:07:55And by the way, the hazard lights are there too.
- 1:07:57What about the rear quarter panel?
- 1:07:59It just falls off.
- 1:08:00Oh man.
- 1:08:01I saw that too.
- 1:08:01I'm like, what?
- 1:08:02And it was just like interior.
- 1:08:04It looks like when you take the door card off of an old Volkswagen and you see
- 1:08:09the internals of how the window works.
- 1:08:11I was like, where's the frame to the back of the truck?
- 1:08:13I mean, so did this thing not have to go through an HTSA crash testing?
- 1:08:19This is why it's Teslagate.
- 1:08:21If you pay enough, If you got enough Elon Musk, which,
- 1:08:25which bill is his face on now?
- 1:08:26Like the thousand dollar bill?
- 1:08:27If you have enough Elon Musk dollars, you can pay this thing through the NTSA.
- 1:08:33If this gets hit, it's going to get obliterated by even a small vehicle.
- 1:08:37Would you go cross country in a Cybertruck?
- 1:08:40No, you wouldn't make it.
- 1:08:41You'd get somewhere in the Midwest with a big rainstorm and then you'd
- 1:08:44be stranded because the car got wet.
- 1:08:46Or because your shifter fell off.
- 1:08:48So you're done.
- 1:08:49And then you would have hit some place with some sand and
- 1:08:52then it would have gotten stuck.
- 1:08:53And so you're done again.
- 1:08:55What's funny about this is, especially the picture of the fenders and
- 1:08:58everything that is now falling off, the gas pedal, the shifter, the fenders.
- 1:09:02I mean, God knows what else is going to fall off the Cybertruck.
- 1:09:05But it's literally the epitome of the expression, I'm going to drive it.
- 1:09:09Yeah.
- 1:09:09Until it falls apart around me, but it's brand freaking new There's always
- 1:09:14a tesla story that sort of crosses the boundary Between tesla gate and what
- 1:09:19we call low e here in the studio or lowered expectations And this one I have
- 1:09:25to give a huge shout out to the special guest on the drive thru a ways back
- 1:09:29He's been a longtime fan of the show and supporter of breakfix through patreon.
- 1:09:34Mr Mark Hewitt brought us this gem of tesla news You can
- 1:09:38see Tanya's face right now.
- 1:09:42Come on.
- 1:09:43It's unfortunate.
- 1:09:48It's an unfortunate state of society.
- 1:09:51This first article about a driver in a Cybertruck driving like a madman.
- 1:09:55With VR or AR goggles on.
- 1:09:59First of all, I think it was a stunt.
- 1:10:00So, there's that.
- 1:10:01The more concerning thing is, don't put this out there in the
- 1:10:05world for people to try to go do.
- 1:10:08That's the more concerning thing at the moment.
- 1:10:10Cause, The Cybertruck doesn't have autopilot, so it's a stunt because
- 1:10:14there's no way that it's self driving and he's just not paying attention.
- 1:10:17So, boom on that.
- 1:10:18But, second of all, don't put this out in the world so people are
- 1:10:22like, Oh, I can go do this too!
- 1:10:24Or some asshat's gonna go do it in their Tesla, which is another article.
- 1:10:27They'll accidentally mow over a woman and her dog, killing them, and then go,
- 1:10:32I didn't realize I, uh, ran anybody over.
- 1:10:34While they were checking emails on their phone in autopilot, allegedly.
- 1:10:38I mean, what a great excuse to like, mow somebody down and be like, Oh shit.
- 1:10:41Oh crap.
- 1:10:42What do I do?
- 1:10:42Oh, you know what?
- 1:10:43I was on autopilot.
- 1:10:44Like, it's not still your fault, asshole.
- 1:10:45And you didn't notice?
- 1:10:47Like, supposedly there's some like, street cam that's like, the woman was on your
- 1:10:51hood for a hot second, you know, dying.
- 1:10:53Like, what the f To Tanya's point, there are no cars in existence
- 1:10:57today that have autopilot.
- 1:10:59Go read the fine print.
- 1:11:01They all say the same shit.
- 1:11:02The car does not drive itself.
- 1:11:04Don't be fucking delusional.
- 1:11:06Mm hmm.
- 1:11:06I will say, you missed the point entirely, Tanya.
- 1:11:09Nope, she's, she got it.
- 1:11:10She good.
- 1:11:11The whole thing with the VR goggles is just like when I sit down on my simulator.
- 1:11:17I don't need to use my monitors.
- 1:11:18I can plug my Oculus or MetaQuest into my sim and play the game through that.
- 1:11:24So when you plug your Oculus into the Cybertruck, you don't need a windshield.
- 1:11:28Remember I said, we're going to be driving eggs that levitate.
- 1:11:32So how do you know where you're going?
- 1:11:34Mm hmm.
- 1:11:34You put on your VR, AR goggles and it's just like being outside.
- 1:11:38Elon Musk was a visionary.
- 1:11:40He saw the writing on the wall.
- 1:11:42You don't need a windscreen wiper because you're not going to use the windscreen.
- 1:11:46You won't know that it's raining.
- 1:11:48The laser goes across your meta quest.
- 1:11:50They use the same laser from that eye surgery.
- 1:11:54They're giving you LASIK from the LASIK.
- 1:11:56Yes, LASIK technology.
- 1:11:58Then your metaquest that goes across and cleans your windshield.
- 1:12:02The simulated rain in your simulated world.
- 1:12:05Just like they added simulated rain to iRacing.
- 1:12:07No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:12:08See the neural link.
- 1:12:10Oh God.
- 1:12:11You get the neural link put in you and then that'll connect
- 1:12:15you intimately with the car.
- 1:12:17Didn't they put the neural chip in somebody's head like Tesla did that?
- 1:12:21I think so.
- 1:12:22Cannot wait until they have complete cranial meltdown
- 1:12:25because I feel like I have that.
- 1:12:27Yeah.
- 1:12:27When I'm reading these articles, I can only imagine if that thing
- 1:12:31self combusts inside your head.
- 1:12:32Good night.
- 1:12:33They did put it in someone, and allegedly they can move a mouse,
- 1:12:37like computer mouse, with their mind.
- 1:12:41You know, I think I've got a new invention.
- 1:12:43It's called A hand and you put the hand on the mouse and you can move it
- 1:12:48without even needing to use your mind.
- 1:12:50But you use your mind to move your hand.
- 1:12:52You see, it's that telekinesis powers that we have.
- 1:12:56I don't, I don't need wireless.
- 1:12:58Touch it.
- 1:12:58I can push the buttons.
- 1:13:00You're not telepathic.
- 1:13:01You don't have telekinetic powers.
- 1:13:03What the mouse must have a chip in it or something like and you're microwaving like
- 1:13:08waves out of your brain to control it.
- 1:13:10There is no spoon.
- 1:13:12So all you do is tilt your head and that's the mouse.
- 1:13:15It's like the old track ball mice.
- 1:13:18Go back, go back.
- 1:13:20Like night at the Roxbury.
- 1:13:23There's already technology like that where your eye movements can be tracked
- 1:13:28and so that you could move things on a computer screen in that way.
- 1:13:31Right.
- 1:13:32I think they've already designed that stuff for people with disabilities.
- 1:13:34I don't need to embed a chip in my brain and then all of a sudden have
- 1:13:38like, I'm gonna get charged to go to the facilities in my own home or something.
- 1:13:43Just imagine how many Camp Lejeune emails you can get straight to your brain.
- 1:13:48You can get paywalls.
- 1:13:49I need to pay for my subscription to, I don't know, use my brain.
- 1:13:54I get like, shut down because my neural Lyn subscription expired.
- 1:13:58Like what?
- 1:13:58? Yeah, because you didn't pay your bill . Dear Lord, please start the apocalypse.
- 1:14:03Start over.
- 1:14:04Wrapping out some Tesla news.
- 1:14:06Our favorite internet idiot, WhistleAndDiesel.
- 1:14:08I don't even know why we're giving this person any airtime.
- 1:14:12We say like, oh, how do these people get murmur?
- 1:14:15And then it's people like us that are like helping him.
- 1:14:18I don't want to help him.
- 1:14:19I'm not going to talk about this.
- 1:14:20You can talk about it.
- 1:14:21I'm going to stay silent.
- 1:14:21All three of our Arbitron rated listeners.
- 1:14:24But yeah, I mean, this guy, I bring it up only because he's beaten cars
- 1:14:29to death and now he's got his hands.
- 1:14:32On a cyber truck.
- 1:14:33And so there's no video footage yet, just some pictures on Instagram with
- 1:14:38the hype and all this kind of thing.
- 1:14:40So I want to see what he does to it.
- 1:14:42He's going to explode it because he's probably going to get it
- 1:14:45into some like benign accident.
- 1:14:47And the thing is just going to like go into a million pieces.
- 1:14:50And maybe that's the end of whistling diesel as we know it.
- 1:14:54Okay, what would be more interesting is we know how Elon Takes the shit like this.
- 1:15:00Oh, yeah.
- 1:15:02What is the retribution here?
- 1:15:04Because he's not just gonna, like, is he really just gonna sit back?
- 1:15:08I don't know.
- 1:15:09But if this guy goes and, like, brutalizes his baby Cybertruck here,
- 1:15:15Makes a mockery of it, basically, That's a lot different than somebody
- 1:15:19trying to give you an artistic tribute.
- 1:15:21Yeah, I can't wait.
- 1:15:22I'm kind of looking forward to this.
- 1:15:23I am too.
- 1:15:24Yeah.
- 1:15:25For once I hate his stuff in general.
- 1:15:27I think he absolutely just abuses cars for all the wrong reasons.
- 1:15:32And a lot of the cars are like, man, I would've, I would've driven that.
- 1:15:34That's a nice car.
- 1:15:36Abusing a Cybertruck.
- 1:15:37I want to see how this turns out.
- 1:15:38In the one picture, there is a tank in the background.
- 1:15:41Oh, dude, this is going to be great.
- 1:15:43Bulletproof glass.
- 1:15:44How about missile proof glass?
- 1:15:46Excellent.
- 1:15:47That's probably accurate.
- 1:15:48That's going to be awesome.
- 1:15:49Now that my expectations are thoroughly lowered, we need to talk about things
- 1:15:54that are unfortunately unfortunate.
- 1:15:56Look at that.
- 1:15:57The first unfortunate thing.
- 1:15:59We're right back with the Cybertruck.
- 1:16:01I feel like this is, like, serendipitous, though.
- 1:16:04No, this is the definition of irony.
- 1:16:06Yeah.
- 1:16:06The headline alone Explains it.
- 1:16:09Okay, Yahoo News reports Tesla Cybertruck hits fire hydrant, catches on fire.
- 1:16:14Well, they were already there with the water, so they're good.
- 1:16:16Fire hydrant was on the scene.
- 1:16:18Fire hydrant was on the scene.
- 1:16:20Apparently, he caused the fire.
- 1:16:23But also could not put out the fire.
- 1:16:25Do you know how much water a fire hydrant puts out?
- 1:16:28But that is needed to put out the fire.
- 1:16:30Still not enough.
- 1:16:30The picture of this thing alone just cracks me up.
- 1:16:34How do you hit a fire hydrant?
- 1:16:35They're not in the middle of the road.
- 1:16:36Supervised full self driving.
- 1:16:40It was F U S D.
- 1:16:42Yeah.
- 1:16:43Unsupervised.
- 1:16:45No.
- 1:16:45So, so this Cybertruck identified as a fire hose.
- 1:16:49God, there were reports this month of other EVs burning to the ground, and
- 1:16:55the fires are just unbelievably tragic.
- 1:16:58Everyone wants to say, Whoa!
- 1:17:02Gasoline, ice, thermal motors catch on fire more than Thermal means fire.
- 1:17:08When was the last time, though, sir, that A ice engine that hit
- 1:17:13a fire hydrant caught on fire.
- 1:17:15I believe the chances of that are one in a trillion.
- 1:17:19Unlike the Fast and the Furious movies, generally,
- 1:17:25when internal combustion engine operated vehicles strike something, they don't
- 1:17:30normally go up in a blaze of glory.
- 1:17:34Would have been amazing if that Cybertruck's dashboard lit up
- 1:17:37and it said, Danger to Manifold.
- 1:17:40I mean, I get, yes, maybe ice do catch on fire more regularly, but it seems
- 1:17:45like the difficulty and the severity of some of these electric vehicle fires.
- 1:17:50Imagine you're in some big collision and then you're out of it.
- 1:17:53You can't even get out of your car or you can't get out of your car
- 1:17:56until somebody comes rescues you and then the damn thing ignites.
- 1:18:00Would it be fair to say that maybe Knowing what we know, having the safety
- 1:18:04gear that we have available to us, that we should wear our Nomex suits
- 1:18:08every time we take a ride in a Tesla.
- 1:18:10I was just about to say that.
- 1:18:11Yep, exactly.
- 1:18:12So you can go down the Tesla Cybertruck rabbit hole with this one article.
- 1:18:17I don't know if you looked in the middle of the page, but it says man
- 1:18:19almost loses a finger to a cyber truck.
- 1:18:21Oh, it's the window truck, like.
- 1:18:23No, this was the door because of where the door buttons are.
- 1:18:26Oh.
- 1:18:27So his finger got caught between the rear door and the front door.
- 1:18:30He almost lost a finger.
- 1:18:31And then the next one out of that is.
- 1:18:33Out of control cyber truck crashes into a house.
- 1:18:35I think that's the one we talked about.
- 1:18:37Yeah.
- 1:18:37A while ago.
- 1:18:38Yeah.
- 1:18:38I just, I, I love it.
- 1:18:39I saw one on the highway today, and I've never seen one in traffic and the beltway
- 1:18:44six lanes on each side type of deal.
- 1:18:46It is massive.
- 1:18:48It looks like this lumbering, and I couldn't figure out
- 1:18:50where the brake lights were.
- 1:18:51You know how we discovered that the headlights are in that gap between
- 1:18:55the front fascia and the bumper?
- 1:18:57I think the brake lights are in the same place on the back, but every time we
- 1:19:01would stop and go in traffic, I didn't.
- 1:19:02See that back bar light up.
- 1:19:04I think that back bar across the lift gate only comes on at night.
- 1:19:08Unless he wasn't using the brakes.
- 1:19:09Maybe regenerative braking that you don't have to break in those cars, but
- 1:19:12you still have to hit the brake pedal because we're coming to a full stop.
- 1:19:16Not if it's full self driving, it's fully aware, identifies as a brake late
- 1:19:22or the brake lights just don't work.
- 1:19:23I mean, amongst a million other things that don't work on those,
- 1:19:26they could have shorted for all we know had brand new temp tags on it.
- 1:19:29I will say I see cyber trucks.
- 1:19:31All the time.
- 1:19:31I see at least one a day.
- 1:19:32They're creepy though.
- 1:19:33When they come up on you, you're suddenly like, Whoa, what is that?
- 1:19:37I hate the fact that they're so popular.
- 1:19:38I don't know why I just, they rubbed me the wrong way.
- 1:19:40It really upsets me.
- 1:19:41Because you didn't get one and you are owed a t shirt.
- 1:19:44That's why.
- 1:19:45I didn't want one.
- 1:19:45Yeah.
- 1:19:46I ordered a cyber truck and all I got was this stupid t shirt.
- 1:19:49Parentheses.
- 1:19:49Thank God.
- 1:19:51Thank Elon.
- 1:19:52Get it right.
- 1:19:53Thank you.
- 1:19:54Well, Elon is God.
- 1:19:55There you go.
- 1:19:55Soon to be, he's gonna be the first trillionaire.
- 1:19:58Did you hear that?
- 1:19:58It's insane.
- 1:19:59Don't even get me started on how stupid people make money.
- 1:20:02He's not stupid.
- 1:20:03He's very smart.
- 1:20:04But he's also stupid.
- 1:20:06He's also a horrible human being.
- 1:20:07Yes, horrible human beings make a lot of money.
- 1:20:10Well, Brad, you're out of luck, man.
- 1:20:12You're trying to sell this cyber truck here in the United
- 1:20:15States for a bucket of chicken.
- 1:20:16And I was thinking, you know what?
- 1:20:17Maybe if Americans won't buy.
- 1:20:20Your allotment.
- 1:20:20You could sell it to somebody overseas.
- 1:20:22Maybe somebody in Asia wants it.
- 1:20:24Maybe somebody in Europe wants it.
- 1:20:25Maybe, maybe.
- 1:20:26There's a whole list of reasons why the Cybertruck won't be going to Europe.
- 1:20:31Let's face it.
- 1:20:32Tanya's mentioned it before.
- 1:20:33The overall size of the vehicle.
- 1:20:35Shipping it from California to Europe.
- 1:20:38There's a lot of obstacles in that.
- 1:20:39But if we get lucky, it could get lost at sea on a shipping container ship.
- 1:20:44We would lose hundreds of them.
- 1:20:46That only happens to Porsches and Lamborghinis.
- 1:20:48Getting it through the European version of, like, the DOT and getting
- 1:20:52it approved and, you know, safety.
- 1:20:54Testing and all that kind of stuff is a lot more strict than
- 1:20:57it is over here in a lot of ways.
- 1:20:59Granted, they don't have to worry about the emission side because
- 1:21:01it's an EV, but do they have the charging network to support it?
- 1:21:04You know, all those kinds of things.
- 1:21:06Do we have the charging network to support?
- 1:21:07Well, I wasn't going to get into that.
- 1:21:10Also, there's an issue with the gross vehicle weight
- 1:21:13being between eight and nine.
- 1:21:14Thousand pounds so four and four and a half tons.
- 1:21:17That's also a problem with europe.
- 1:21:19It's just too big It's just too heavy the issue that the cyber truck is just
- 1:21:23gross regardless of gross vehicle weight It's just gross and that sort of leads
- 1:21:27into our final article about the cyber truck elon musk And I quote we dug
- 1:21:32our own grave with the cyber truck.
- 1:21:34I guess it was shortly after he announced Oh, it's coming in november
- 1:21:37and then oh we dug our own grave on this Basically like, yeah, this is a
- 1:21:42bad idea, but we're doing it anyway.
- 1:21:44What kind of business sense is that though?
- 1:21:47And I mean, we're past the point of no return, right?
- 1:21:49I guess there's enough people that want this.
- 1:21:51It's still a year and a half from being cash positive, he said.
- 1:21:55Scaling the production is still a problem.
- 1:21:57So to your point, Brad, if you'd actually click yes to that order, it'll be a
- 1:22:01couple of years till you see it probably.
- 1:22:02If you place that order, how much of a deposit do you have to put down?
- 1:22:06When I did the estimator, it was 4, 500.
- 1:22:09Do you start paying on it right away?
- 1:22:11You haven't taken delivery of your Cybertruck.
- 1:22:13You're not going to finalize the loan until there's a VIN number.
- 1:22:15Are you sure?
- 1:22:16Because they can generate a soft VIN number and reserve it for you and say,
- 1:22:20this is going to be your chassis number.
- 1:22:21But a bank is not going to fund that loan until there's an actual vehicle.
- 1:22:25That they could repossess when you don't pay.
- 1:22:27You're using logic, my friend.
- 1:22:29You're going to go through the Tesla financing corporation.
- 1:22:32Oh, that's right.
- 1:22:33That's right.
- 1:22:34And they can repossess unicorns and glitter.
- 1:22:37It's like software.
- 1:22:38I'm going to generate you a license key, but your trial hasn't started yet.
- 1:22:41Oh, you mean how they generate stock value?
- 1:22:44They'll just generate it out of thin air.
- 1:22:46So they're going to allot you your VIN.
- 1:22:48You're going to start paying on a truck that you're not
- 1:22:49going to receive for two years.
- 1:22:50I think this is a good deal.
- 1:22:52That means I'm two years into my seven year loan.
- 1:22:55And all of a sudden when I get the truck, it's a five year loan.
- 1:22:58And don't forget, it's an armed loan, so it's adjustable rate.
- 1:23:02So wait a minute, when I buy it at the 100, 000 or whatever, does that mean I
- 1:23:07haven't technically driven it off the lot?
- 1:23:09But when I actually take possession, does it mean it's worth 30, 000?
- 1:23:13Yeah, because you have two years of depreciation.
- 1:23:15But not two years of wear and tear.
- 1:23:17I would tell you this, if you were in a different state of
- 1:23:19life, I'd say send it, man.
- 1:23:21Let's make this happen.
- 1:23:22You gotta get this Cybertruck.
- 1:23:24You It's just gotta happen, right?
- 1:23:25Just go for it.
- 1:23:26We got a little homework to do here.
- 1:23:27I don't think I convinced you properly to buy this truck.
- 1:23:31I don't think I could convince anybody to buy this truck, honestly.
- 1:23:33I don't think Elon Musk can convince anybody to buy this truck.
- 1:23:37What are you talking about?
- 1:23:38I don't see why they have volume in production issues.
- 1:23:42When there aren't gonna need to make that many, cause not that many
- 1:23:44people are gonna take delivery.
- 1:23:46Demand is artificially high.
- 1:23:47Just like generating those VIN numbers.
- 1:23:49Yeah, everybody put in a hundred dollars on a whim.
- 1:23:52Cause like, oh, it's a fucking hundred dollars, who cares?
- 1:23:54If the truck ends up, you know, shit in the bed, or they never make it or
- 1:23:57whatever, I lost a hundred dollars.
- 1:23:59Who cares?
- 1:23:59Is that how you've rationalized it for yourself?
- 1:24:02Have you just said, I've wasted a hundred dollars on a lot of other
- 1:24:05things and let it go, or do you think you can get your money back?
- 1:24:08Do you think you can unload this cyber truck allotment?
- 1:24:11Getting the money back versus unloading the cyber truck
- 1:24:14allotment are two different things.
- 1:24:15Because when I first signed up for it, it was a refundable deposit.
- 1:24:20So I should be able to technically call up Tesla and say, Hey, you know what?
- 1:24:24Nevermind.
- 1:24:25Can I have my a hundred dollars please?
- 1:24:27Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:24:27You said call up Tesla.
- 1:24:29You could talk to a human.
- 1:24:30Yeah.
- 1:24:31I'm going to call him up on the cyber webs.
- 1:24:33I'm going to use my neural net right to Elon.
- 1:24:36And he's going to cut me a check for a hundred dollars minus a
- 1:24:40hundred dollars processing fee.
- 1:24:41So he's going to mail me a check for like 15 cents.
- 1:24:44If nothing else.
- 1:24:45They should be paying you interest on the 100.
- 1:24:47It should be like a bond.
- 1:24:48I was going to say it should be like, yeah, 100 plus 5 percent
- 1:24:52interest over five years.
- 1:24:53I'll take that.
- 1:24:54Exactly.
- 1:24:54You loaned the Tesla foundation a hundred bucks.
- 1:24:57It was a charitable donation.
- 1:24:59You want your money back.
- 1:24:59I aided in their stock valuation and their inflated cash
- 1:25:03position and stock valuation.
- 1:25:06And he took that money and bought X.
- 1:25:09And I don't mean, I don't mean ecstasy, although he probably bought that too.
- 1:25:12X, insert variable here, right?
- 1:25:14I wonder if we're going to look back in 20 years, 30 years, when we're
- 1:25:19all relaxing on our lazy boys and we're doing drive thru number 537.
- 1:25:24And we're going to look back and say, do you remember that
- 1:25:26Bernie Madoff level Ponzi scheme?
- 1:25:28That was Tesla, which one, which, which story, what specifically
- 1:25:34is anybody surprised again?
- 1:25:39Well, let's put a pin in this Tesla talk.
- 1:25:41Let's put a bird shit in this cyber truck talk.
- 1:25:43We will come back to the cyber truck.
- 1:25:46No, please don't.
- 1:25:47Oh, we will.
- 1:25:48We will.
- 1:25:48It's please, please don't.
- 1:25:50It's still in the news.
