Transcript
- 0:01Hi, and welcome to the Seated podcast with Furniture Row.
- 0:04I'm Jessa, creative director and design extraordinaire.
- 0:08And I'm Barb, interior designer and buyer.
- 0:12Welcome to High Point. Welcome to High Point, everyone.
- 0:17I'm North Carolina. Yeah, this is the Seated podcast
- 0:21on the road. It's a little bit of a different
- 0:24set, but it kind of I love. The set it's, so it's the.
- 0:29Vibe We're in High Point, NC because we are at the furniture
- 0:35market here. Every two times a year our
- 0:39buyers go and buy the best quality furniture at the best
- 0:44price, and it's a city full of furniture and it's just all
- 0:50these different vendors coming together.
- 0:52It's a collage of the best trends around the world at the
- 0:57time. Whether it's everything.
- 0:59Springer yeah. So we are so inspired and
- 1:02refreshed and like, I just want to go create something, you
- 1:06know? I do too.
- 1:07I want to, like, redecorate my entire house.
- 1:09Every time I come to market, Yeah, I'm like, Oh yeah, I see
- 1:13something new and I love it. Yeah, I want a graphic design.
- 1:17I want to like mix some patterns and some some types of colors
- 1:24and yeah, styles and photography.
- 1:27Like I just want to collage things 'cause that's what I'm
- 1:30seeing a lot. Yeah, a lot of different
- 1:32collaging of furniture. And patterns, yeah.
- 1:36I would and styles, Yeah, mixing, you know, old and new,
- 1:40mixing modern with traditional. High, low, you know, like casual
- 1:46with luxury. I think the most exciting thing
- 1:50to me is the fact that it's a collage of all the different
- 1:54trends throughout time that we've loved the most together in
- 2:00a way that honors all of the different eras.
- 2:03I think before we used to just throw away trends.
- 2:06Oh, that was so that decade, you know.
- 2:09I feel like some of the trends though that we've seen this year
- 2:12or this market has a long, has a long shelf life and it's very
- 2:17classic and it's not a throwaway trend.
- 2:21No, it's not. But it's also highlighting that
- 2:23a lot of the trends that we've had in the past that have truly
- 2:26been quality shouldn't have been thrown away.
- 2:30You know, they're honored. And I think a lot of us have
- 2:33antiques or family heirlooms that we haven't known how to
- 2:36incorporate because they're just not relevant.
- 2:38Bring them out, put them back in your home.
- 2:41Honor like, you know your grandma's old vase that you got
- 2:45or you know, this beautiful piece of furniture that you
- 2:50thrifted and it's just family heirlooms.
- 2:53Are I just I like the honouring of things instead of the
- 2:57turnover, throw away culture of like, Oh, well, now we're we got
- 3:02to move to the next thing and the next thing It's like, let's
- 3:04like appreciate. What we already have, yes, but
- 3:08also like buying quality furniture because you know, we
- 3:11do need chairs, we need sofas. And I mean, we are sitting in
- 3:15two very well made chairs. Yes, Made in America, yes.
- 3:20Yeah. And so you can still buy new,
- 3:23just buy quality. Exactly.
- 3:25Yeah. That's the best way to stay
- 3:27trend proof, yes, Is to buy quality or to invest in whatever
- 3:34is trending in a very quality way, I think.
- 3:38You know you can always reupholster later on down the
- 3:41road when you get tired of the fabric.
- 3:43Yeah, the best chair designs have been around since the 30s
- 3:46and 40s, you know, right? And through 60s.
- 3:50Which reminds me, yeah. When did market start?
- 3:53What was it? 19 O nine?
- 3:54The first furniture factory was here in 1889.
- 3:58Right. So high point market it's.
- 4:00Been around for a while. The furniture market is in High
- 4:04Point, NC because they started producing furniture here.
- 4:08Yeah, and became the furniture capital in the 1800s.
- 4:12It is the furniture capital. And then tradition stock, like a
- 4:16lot of furniture is still produced like in this general
- 4:19area. But around the area.
- 4:21Yeah, but as. Some in Mississippi.
- 4:24Yeah, as production has changed over time as far as the
- 4:31location, the market has still been here.
- 4:34People like coming here to to shop in that established.
- 4:39Space, I think it's so big now, like it would be really
- 4:42difficult to move furniture market.
- 4:45Anywhere, anywhere else, it's just so it's like.
- 4:47Paris. I mean, never say never, but.
- 4:49Come on, it's like Paris Fashion Week but for furniture.
- 4:53So yeah, like you couldn't move Paris.
- 4:56Fashion. I love coming here too.
- 4:58It's like so cozy, the drive in with the trees and the rolling
- 5:04hills. It's just a.
- 5:05Very wooden. Like, very relaxing, yeah.
- 5:08Yeah. So, but today we're on this set
- 5:12specifically because. Let's tell them.
- 5:17We're at best furniture in their showroom.
- 5:21It's pretty great here. Yeah, they just make the most
- 5:23quality furniture. And this line we got so excited
- 5:29about today. I think you walked into this
- 5:32showroom and what did you say? Oh, everything was wow.
- 5:37It was so beautiful. You were like be still.
- 5:42My beating. Because you were just so excited
- 5:44I. Still like that right now I'm in
- 5:47a lot like I love this little chair that I'm sitting in.
- 5:49I mean look, does that not this little patch like match leather
- 5:55chair? And this particular set or
- 5:59collection that we're sitting in right now is by Aaron and Benko.
- 6:05They are the stars of hometown from H Sweetest.
- 6:10They are the sweetest people. They're from Laurel, Ms., and
- 6:14they have a great mission of just really revitalizing small
- 6:20towns and making them home for people and bringing home to
- 6:24where the place that feels like home to them.
- 6:28So you don't have to live in a big city to feel like you have
- 6:31community. And they're just, yeah, they're
- 6:32really bringing back their hometown and really inspiring
- 6:36other people to do the same. But their style is truly what I
- 6:42was talking about, honoring all the different heirlooms and
- 6:47family heirlooms and decades. There are all these little
- 6:49antiquey pieces throughout the space.
- 6:53Doing that, I mean, I've seen the show and I was always taking
- 6:57inspiration from the artwork that they put in houses and the
- 7:02wallpaper. And I'm like an artist, isn't
- 7:04she? She is an artist, yeah, And she
- 7:07has designed some of the patterns that are on the chairs
- 7:11throughout this showroom, on the fabrics, and I think they have a
- 7:14line of wallpaper as well. Yeah, with York Wallpaper
- 7:18Company. Yeah, they and and rugs as well
- 7:23and so yeah, I just. They're very big on Made in
- 7:26America. Very big on made.
- 7:28And they always have been. It wasn't.
- 7:29It's not just a trendy thing. Again, it goes back to investing
- 7:32in the community in. And so, yeah, they've just, I
- 7:38really appreciate how much they've brought creativity into
- 7:42every part of their business, though in their own little
- 7:48unique way. I love all of the details.
- 7:51That's the thing that really you just start looking at it and
- 7:54you're like, Oh my goodness, this little detail, that little
- 7:56detail, the legs, they had some motion sofas.
- 8:00You would have no idea that. These things mentioned.
- 8:03And she put like design the little buttons in here to the
- 8:08power button, but it just looks like a little, I don't know,
- 8:11like whether jewelry or something.
- 8:14It was so nice and super comfortable.
- 8:17I mean, and the great thing is is they did pair up with Best
- 8:21and Best makes a quality accent chair.
- 8:25They make quality sofa. And yeah.
- 8:28You know, there's some celebrity collaborations that I've seen,
- 8:32whether it's in the beauty industry or what have you, that
- 8:35it's all about the branding and the name, but it's not about the
- 8:39quality. And this is really about the
- 8:42quality. So I'm just, I really hope that
- 8:45we partner with them, to be honest, at Furniture Row and
- 8:49we'll see, but. See what happens.
- 8:51I'm crossing my fingers because I I just think.
- 8:55I just kind of want to hang out with them, you know, and have
- 8:58dinner. They were so nice, kind.
- 9:00Of want to be friends. Yeah, I think we could be
- 9:02friends, definitely. Well, that too, but I also just
- 9:06think people would love their furniture.
- 9:09This line is like just so like nothing I've ever seen in our
- 9:14stores. And it's all about the little
- 9:16details, like even in their store, there's showroom here.
- 9:22Have you tried? Their cookies, Yeah, they have
- 9:24these little cookies on these beautiful little plates that
- 9:27they have, and they're really delicious.
- 9:30And it's just, it's just. Like every little detail, yeah.
- 9:34That made us feel at home so. Well, you just felt, I felt
- 9:39super comfortable. I felt like I was just walking
- 9:42into my friend's home, you know? What I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 9:45Well, that's what made me want to sit here and have this be the
- 9:49place that we podcast at market because I think it.
- 9:52And we did. We looked high and low.
- 9:54We were like, where are we going to podcast?
- 9:56And we looked at all kinds of places that were great, but then
- 10:00we walked in here and we're like, this is it?
- 10:02Yeah, cuz it just it matches us yeah and our vibe and yeah so
- 10:08and it was just a great representation of our favorite
- 10:11thing about market this year so. That was a good point.
- 10:15What do you feel like fall trends have been though at this
- 10:20market? At this market, well, I have
- 10:22seen this color a lot. And gold, like a really almost
- 10:29ochre, yeah, kind of gold color. And corn, yes.
- 10:34Maple, spice, brown, sugar rich colors, yeah.
- 10:40And green. We saw a lot of green this
- 10:42morning. Green Green is great because it
- 10:45brings us a little bit into nature.
- 10:48It's really functioning as a neutral in a lot of places.
- 10:52Nature colors with a little oomph in the color.
- 10:56Yeah, that's a. That's a good way to to explain
- 10:57it. Nature with the yeah, yeah,
- 11:00yeah. Love it.
- 11:03Yeah. So it's been functional pieces
- 11:06and multi functional pieces that do, you know, serve different,
- 11:10can serve all different places. So for example, we saw a server
- 11:15for a dining room, but it could also be an entrance console or a
- 11:19sofa table. And then I chameleon furniture.
- 11:23Yeah, I guess that's maybe what we should call.
- 11:25It and the other thing that I like too is furniture that could
- 11:28serve as something that you would otherwise have to do like
- 11:32a big construction project for in your house so like an island
- 11:37that's on caster wheels you know that has drawers and like a
- 11:42countertop that you can buy and put in the middle of the kitchen
- 11:45we. Saw a great one.
- 11:47Yeah. And then, you know, you don't
- 11:50have to build a whole island and pay a contractor to do that
- 11:54right now because. Well the cost of materials are
- 11:57so expensive right now so just buy a good quality piece of
- 12:01piece of. Furniture in your kitchen and
- 12:02that mantle. We saw the place mantle that was
- 12:05really nice of furniture. Instead of installing a mantle
- 12:08that was. Awesome.
- 12:10Well, and it had the firebox and everything.
- 12:11So if you want to, if you want a fireplace, just buy this piece,
- 12:16but. Everything throws heat, you
- 12:18know, even though it's not like a real, like you don't throw
- 12:21wood in there. It's like not a real fireplace,
- 12:24but it throws heat. I think you're saying like get
- 12:26to 1000 square feet. Anyway, getting into the
- 12:29technical, It's yeah, just what you're going to save so much
- 12:34money I feel like by buying some of these pieces that are
- 12:39multifunctional. There were.
- 12:40And then if you didn't like, back to the fireplace, if you're
- 12:43like, oh, I'm going to put it in my living room and you haven't
- 12:45there for a while. Yeah, some people have spaces
- 12:48like a little breakfast nook off of their kitchen or in their
- 12:52kitchen. You could put it even in there
- 12:54and create another ambience. And all you do is just wheel it
- 12:57in there. Maybe your life changes and
- 12:59where you hang out in your house kind of changes over time.
- 13:02Put it in your bedroom. Yeah, you want to change where
- 13:04your fireplace is and this is an easy way to do that.
- 13:07Yeah. But yeah, like we also like
- 13:11sectionals with swivels at the end.
- 13:14That was really cool, especially when you have an open floor.
- 13:17Yeah, you could put that, you know, floating out in the
- 13:21middle. And if your kitchen's over there
- 13:22at different rooms here, you just swivel and turn around.
- 13:25But it doesn't come apart. It just you just turn.
- 13:28Yeah, and it's like it's hard to.
- 13:30Explain. Yeah.
- 13:31And so we didn't show a little video of it, but it, it's, it's
- 13:36a great way to be comfortable yet entertained because you're
- 13:39not like, hey, welcome to my house.
- 13:41Let's just sink into the sofa. It's like, hey, welcome to my
- 13:46house. Like, and it's like, welcome to
- 13:50my house. And like, you get to just like,
- 13:52you know, swivel and talk to different people, but while
- 13:55you're sitting down, I don't know.
- 13:56It was so elegant and smart. I feel like this market and
- 14:00maybe even the last market too, our vendors really are focusing
- 14:05on being at home and entertaining.
- 14:08Yeah. And having people over.
- 14:10Yeah, it could be more of your family or it could be friends,
- 14:13whatever, but really just falling in love with your home
- 14:17again. You just.
- 14:18Love that? Like making your home a place
- 14:20that you wanna be and your friends wanna be.
- 14:24Because like, I mean, if you think of the places that you go
- 14:28out to with your friends, like I'm sure some of them are great
- 14:30and there's definitely a reason to like get food out sometimes.
- 14:33But but I mean, a lot of the ambience that people are most
- 14:37drawn to are homey. Space feel like home, yeah.
- 14:41And so it's like. Even, like little coffee bars
- 14:44they put, you know, small little leather settees and chairs and
- 14:48little tables. You could recreate that at your
- 14:50own home, of course. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:52Still, go to the coffee shop if you want.
- 14:54Exactly. But but to where?
- 14:56When you walk downstairs, you feel like you love your life and
- 14:59you love where you live. And so we're upstairs for that
- 15:03matter. But yeah, it's just that our
- 15:06vendors have really thought about everything and just so a
- 15:10lot of storage pieces that. That was really cool seeing the
- 15:15storage pieces, like the tables that had storage underneath the
- 15:20actual dining table to put your plates and cups.
- 15:23So if you don't have a big space, you know, you just get
- 15:26this really great table, a really interesting looking
- 15:30table. You may not have room for a
- 15:32sideboard or any other piece in the room other than a table and
- 15:35chairs. Well, there's your storage.
- 15:36Well, they're great for small space, but they're also great,
- 15:40like if you have a lot of things that make your life your life,
- 15:45but you like a clean aesthetic that's less cluttered.
- 15:49You can put your shoes in it. Exactly.
- 15:51If you don't have room, just stick your shoes.
- 15:53If you have a place where things go and are stored away and you
- 15:58know that's where they go, then it's easy for things not to get
- 16:02cluttered because you just put things back in that place kind
- 16:04of thing. And we talked to a few designers
- 16:06that. Yeah.
- 16:07That was their theory. Is her name Lee?
- 16:09Here's her salt. Yeah, Yeah, she was so.
- 16:12Annoying. It's just about like letting the
- 16:14design shine and it being clean and organized so that and, she
- 16:20said. She had stuff, but the way they
- 16:22organized it at home, it just her home came.
- 16:26Yes, very nice. Yeah, Glass is really being
- 16:33integrated throughout a lot of different types of furniture.
- 16:38So whether it's a bookcase that has glass doors on it or you
- 16:43know, like a big cabinet with glass doors or glass end tables,
- 16:48glass. Top a little extra something to
- 16:51the. Shine and texture.
- 16:53Sparkle. It adds to the like mixing and
- 16:56matching of textures so that not everything is wood.
- 17:02And I'm seeing like a lot of like maybe it's.
- 17:04Supposed to represent water. Maybe so.
- 17:06Maybe. But even the what?
- 17:08What are the mirrors that you liked?
- 17:10What is that called again? The Mercury glass looking
- 17:14mirrors or the antiqued mirror that was really pretty.
- 17:18We saw that a lot. Yeah.
- 17:19And then do you remember seeing that one mirror?
- 17:22It's it literally is a mirror that goes on the wall, but
- 17:26there's a sconce attached. So if you're like, I'm not going
- 17:30to install sconces on my wall and you just plug it in.
- 17:34It was stunning. I'm like what a great.
- 17:36Idea to install a sconce. You can just hang this mirror
- 17:38with this sconce attached. And if you don't have space, so
- 17:42say you have a small bedroom, OK, you could get two of these
- 17:46mirrors and put them on either side of the bed where your night
- 17:49stands are. Or even if you don't have room
- 17:51for the night stand, just put like a little side table,
- 17:54something to put your water on and maybe or jewelry and then
- 17:57these, you know, mirrors with the wall sconce and you have
- 18:01just a major design moment. Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 18:03And it's not like Major, you know.
- 18:06Expense. Yeah, call an electrician.
- 18:09Yeah, yeah. We love an electrician.
- 18:12Yeah, I just don't know any and it they sound expensive and we
- 18:15are sure there are. Definitely things to use an.
- 18:18Electrician I for sure, but but if you don't have to right, it's
- 18:23gonna save you money like if you.
- 18:24Can just plug it in. Yeah, we're not suggesting
- 18:26wiring a house. Or do not.
- 18:28Wire a house? No, don't wire things.
- 18:30Call an electrician that. Gap unless you are an
- 18:32electrician, right? Sure, but I mean, they go to
- 18:34school for a long time, so anyway, yeah.
- 18:37I just like to plug things. Out no electrocuting yourself.
- 18:41Right. Yeah, right.
- 18:44Exactly. We talked about this a lot, but
- 18:47yeah, it's definitely a good through line, yeah, for people
- 18:50to remember. Yeah, I like that.
- 18:53It's simple. It takes the mystery out of I
- 18:56want to do this, but I don't want to have to have contractors
- 19:00in my house right now or I can't afford to like do a major
- 19:04makeover. So we found a lot of pieces that
- 19:07solve that. Yeah, that.
- 19:10Problem that issue. That issue I also I really liked
- 19:15the art that we were seeing. We saw great.
- 19:18Art, lots of nature and landscapes and still lifes and.
- 19:23And then brights. You saw a lot of bright things
- 19:25too. Yes, lots of color.
- 19:27Last year in our episode about market, we were or I guess
- 19:32earlier this year in Season 1, we were talking about how 2025
- 19:37trends were like colors back and personality is back.
- 19:41But that definitely continues to be true.
- 19:44And, and not just like any personality.
- 19:47It's like your personality, you know, I think.
- 19:51Your home should really be an expression of you and your
- 19:55personality. Yeah, so that is definitely
- 19:57travelling into 2026. Be yourself.
- 20:02Be yourself. Be yourself.
- 20:04Be yourself. This is.
- 20:09A song? Did you just make this up or is
- 20:11an actual song? It's a song from a movie that I
- 20:15won't name it, OK, Just you know, if you know, you know if.
- 20:18You know, you know. Well, you can tell me.
- 20:20Later, yeah. It's a good movie.
- 20:24It's never a dull moment with Jessup.
- 20:26Well, you know, sometimes we just get inspired to sing.
- 20:29Yeah, that's great. Which means that you're
- 20:32comfortable and you're happy. Yeah.
- 20:34And that's what this space is making me feel.
- 20:38Yeah. So how would you suggest
- 20:43layering fabrics and unique textures?
- 20:46Because look at where we're sitting, you know, we just have
- 20:49to address some of the textures and patterns that we're seeing
- 20:54here. Well, they certainly have mixed
- 20:57a lot of patterns and things that I'm telling you, I'm so
- 21:01inspired by this. And I, I'm trying to like in my
- 21:06mind, trying to figure out how they did what they did because
- 21:10some of these patterns I would have never thought to put
- 21:13together or color combinations. And I'm just like completely
- 21:17blown away with it. I mean, even a designer can be
- 21:22stopped in their tracks, you know, like, how did they do?
- 21:24That when you see, you know, designers can be inspired by
- 21:28other designers. Yeah, absolutely.
- 21:29Like, yeah, yes, hopefully so. And.
- 21:32Yeah, but it's inspiring. I love it.
- 21:35I love all of it. I love the layering like they've
- 21:38done here with these rugs. I like this really soft texture
- 21:42of the rug your, you know, your feet are on and then this a
- 21:45little bit, you know, more natural texture and a little bit
- 21:50scratchy but but nice, you know? Similar to the episode about
- 21:54rugs that we were talking about and you were talking about how
- 21:57to layer rugs, we'll have to cut.
- 22:00Like layered everything. More of a specific video of the
- 22:03layered rugs here, but they've done it so artfully and it's a
- 22:09very good representation of what you talked about in that episode
- 22:12with, you know, if you're going to have a pattern, maybe have
- 22:16like the loose patterns mixed with the tighter patterns.
- 22:20So like there's a tight woven one color, you know, or like one
- 22:25color family pattern on the base level and then the top level
- 22:31it's a looser weave pattern. Or mixing textures like you're
- 22:35saying that helps. And then, you know, if you're
- 22:38just trying to start out simple, maybe select three different
- 22:41colors and just play off of those colors and large scale
- 22:46pattern with maybe a smaller scale or you know, like here
- 22:50they've done this sort of reads like a stripe, you know, and
- 22:54then this is an overall pattern. So I like mixing things like
- 22:58that that as well. Yeah, but then like one of the
- 23:00third pillows they have is just. A solid solid, but it's.
- 23:04Got a nice like texture that you can.
- 23:07It's like a micro texture because it's velvety.
- 23:10So it's there, but it's not like a big.
- 23:12Texture or like this? I mean, look at.
- 23:15These. Yeah, I have one of those two in
- 23:16my chair. So even they look.
- 23:18Almost like a solid because it's.
- 23:20Tone. Yeah, exactly.
- 23:22I was about to say that even though it's a pattern, yeah, it
- 23:25does read as a solid. So if you look at these.
- 23:28They all. And they all go together.
- 23:30Yeah, and this goes. And blue and blue and coral or
- 23:34blue and orange is such a good combination together.
- 23:37What one of my theories is, is they just think that Christmas
- 23:41in America. Christmas in America.
- 23:45Two color palettes. If you just play with them a
- 23:49little, it's the best color combination.
- 23:51So like. Explain I I need to?
- 23:53Follow the Christmas. Red and green.
- 23:56The bright red like Rudolph knows red and like, you know,
- 24:02Kelly green or like bright green you should do like let's say
- 24:11coral and Moss or. Oh, I see what you're saying.
- 24:15Like change the tone. Of yeah, change the tone of the
- 24:18color. So like you could do like a
- 24:22bright red, but then like, yeah, a Moss green or or like a a
- 24:29bright red and a teal. I love red and blue together,
- 24:33but like the color of your scarf or this color?
- 24:36I love this color. Blue mixed with red.
- 24:39Yeah, love. It like a corn flour blue mixed.
- 24:42With and we're seeing a lot of that at market corn flour
- 24:45everywhere. It's the color of market this
- 24:49year, yeah. I wonder if it'll be the color
- 24:50of the year next year. I don't know.
- 24:52No, we had to guess that. Remember you guys like it's like
- 24:55a bluey greeny or yeah. You thought it was going to be
- 24:58like a minty green, kind of, and I said terracotta, but I I don't
- 25:02know if either of us are going to be right.
- 25:03I might have to change my mind. OK, well, you know, I think I
- 25:06would. Change my mind.
- 25:07Terracotta would actually go well together, yeah.
- 25:09After being here. If it was like a muted minty
- 25:12maybe. So.
- 25:14OK, Anyway, yeah, I digress. But yeah, could I?
- 25:17I'm guessing now that it's going to be corn flour, blue or ochre.
- 25:23Interesting. Corn flour.
- 25:25And really, those two colors would look great together,
- 25:29right? Yeah.
- 25:29So inspiring. It is very inspiring.
- 25:33Yeah, good job, Aaron. And you know what else talking
- 25:37about corn flour blue. I love that blue color with like
- 25:41a rich, I hate to say the word burgundy, but like a Merlot.
- 25:47What would you call it? I.
- 25:48Love the word burgundy. Burgundy.
- 25:50Burgundy is like a trendy runways right now on fashion
- 25:55runways, burgundy is like. Yes, I like those combinations.
- 26:00Or like the color of this, like a deep dark purpley, real rich
- 26:05purple with ochre. I think that'd be so pretty
- 26:07together. I'm so excited about fall.
- 26:11I love the color palettes. I love the weather.
- 26:14I mean, just everything about fall is, yeah.
- 26:17So how I know we talked about like people entertaining and
- 26:21making home something that's a reflection of you and being
- 26:25yourself. But how should these trends
- 26:28apply to people's home, do you think?
- 26:31Or like, what are easy ways for people to take these trends
- 26:33home? Like if we say, for example,
- 26:35brown sugar or ochre. Like what are great places for
- 26:39those to show up in your house? In a simple way or explain your
- 26:45question a little more so I can. Yeah, like in a simple way, like
- 26:49if they just want to start incorporating some of these
- 26:51colors. Well, depending what else is in
- 26:56the space. I mean, you could paint a wall
- 26:59color, you know, paint one wall an accent wall.
- 27:03And believe it or not, I think accent walls are coming back.
- 27:06Oh, absolutely. Yeah.
- 27:08So especially with. Wallpap.
- 27:10That's the other thing. Wallpaper is everything, right?
- 27:14And then you pull a color from the wallpaper and you.
- 27:20That's an easy way to design. A room trim or like wallpaper
- 27:25with like a wainscot. Yes, wainscoting, which they
- 27:30have here in the showroom. Yeah.
- 27:32So if you just pull a color from the wallpaper and paint the trim
- 27:36or the wainscoting that color from the wallpaper, that's a
- 27:41great way. Like if you had like a wallpaper
- 27:44that had ochre in the pattern and then you painted the trend
- 27:51that ochre color, that would be a great way to celebrate that
- 27:54color in your home. Or maybe there's a painting that
- 27:57you really love, like a a still life.
- 27:59Yeah. Like a good brand?
- 28:01That really are like a like a fall pear or like a quince.
- 28:06Apple. Maybe even a throw, a decorative
- 28:09throw that you could put in your living room over a sofa arm or
- 28:13in your bedroom. Little accent pillows.
- 28:17You could paint your front door. That'd be a really easy thing,
- 28:20that. Would be really fun.
- 28:22Yeah. And limit the amount of times
- 28:24you can paint your front door, do you think?
- 28:26I don't know. I don't either.
- 28:29Yeah, well, I mean I, I keep. Painting mine the same color.
- 28:31It's always been the same color. What is it?
- 28:34It's a red and I love it. Fun and I've just repainted it
- 28:38the same color. I just, I just love.
- 28:40It I love an accent door. I do, we do.
- 28:43But you know another easy way? An inexpensive way would be
- 28:48towels in your bathroom. Yeah, really.
- 28:51The shower curtain? Yeah, if you have one, yeah.
- 28:55You could do that. Maybe your you know, I love
- 28:58fabric napkins to eat dinner with or lunch or whatever.
- 29:03I'm always have fabric, yeah, fabric napkins.
- 29:06So you could do it that way, you know, incorporate it.
- 29:09Maybe little towels in your kitchen.
- 29:11But you know, like. Your nuts.
- 29:12Yeah, yeah. If you're looking for a new sofa
- 29:16color though, like if you're shopping currently or accent
- 29:19chair, yeah, some of these colors we've seen on sofas and
- 29:24sectionals at large scale. And look so pretty.
- 29:27Especially that brown sugar color like orange velvet is
- 29:32amazing or acorn is what we're going to describe it.
- 29:36We've seen the like the velvet acorn color sofa, so many places
- 29:40and it's just it sings so. Well, and the other thing too is
- 29:44because they are nature colors. I mean, they truly are.
- 29:48I'm sure if we took it, took an acorn and put it next to, it'd
- 29:51be like the same color or like your bag color.
- 29:54It's like a. Camel it's.
- 29:56A lot of people have called it Camel too, but it's but it's.
- 29:59To me it's it's richer than that.
- 30:01Richer and it's brighter. Than yeah, but I just feel like
- 30:05those colors are never going to be out.
- 30:07Yeah, well, and that's good to talk about.
- 30:10What you put with them that makes it either in or out.
- 30:14Yes, it's what you put with them, but also trend proofing,
- 30:18you know, like getting your house to a place where you know,
- 30:22if you buy a new sofa, you probably don't want it to be
- 30:25like this is so out of trend in a few years.
- 30:28You know, if in 2000s you had bought a Chevron patterned sofa,
- 30:33you'd probably regret it right now.
- 30:35Hopefully it's good quality and you just go get it
- 30:38reupholstered. I know, but.
- 30:41If not, come to Furniture Row and buy a new one.
- 30:43Right, but the quality will make your piece trend proof and and I
- 30:50think trends that stand the test of time are just really thought
- 30:55through and done well. And it's not like a quick
- 30:58decision. It's like a what do I love and
- 31:01like what is my favorite part of nature?
- 31:03What it reminds me of my favorite relative thought
- 31:06through decision, you know, and so like just like these stripes
- 31:12are just bring me to a coastal homey place, you know, and so I
- 31:17don't think stripes. Ever.
- 31:18I don't think stripes ever go out like that.
- 31:20Looks like a classic. Right.
- 31:24Or if we think about, you know, some of of the other trends that
- 31:27have been out, you know, like sponge painting that was kind of
- 31:31a cheap knock off of lime washing, you know, and so but if
- 31:36you have a lime washed wall from like years ago and it's still in
- 31:41good shape, it's probably, well, it's probably still now.
- 31:44Yeah, Yeah. But that's not a new thing.
- 31:47That's a trend that's been around for a while.
- 31:49And so, yeah, just like buy quality furniture and nice
- 31:53stones. You don't have to, you know,
- 31:55break the. Bank clothing, if you buy
- 31:58classic pieces and then you want to feel a little bit more
- 32:02trendy, just add the accessories that are of the moment or the
- 32:06scarf. Ralph Ralph Lauren Vintage.
- 32:10Jacket This is an old vintage Ralph Lauren piece.
- 32:14You know, it's got the little patches.
- 32:17But look at the quality of the patches and the buttons and the
- 32:20fags brick, you know, like you can't buy fast fashion that's
- 32:23going to last long. Like that would be tattered.
- 32:25And I don't know what state it would be and if it were cheap,
- 32:28but this is like. It would be.
- 32:30It would be a mess. Stuff that you can keep forever.
- 32:34Exactly. So yeah, I mean that's how to
- 32:36stay trend proof I would say is just make sure that you invest
- 32:41with in whatever you're buying and you shop with your heart.
- 32:46So yeah, that anyway. We just want you to love your
- 32:51home, love where you live. Yeah, yeah, love where you live,
- 32:57but we're really happy that we got to check in with you.
- 33:02We're not quite in season 2 yet, so we will just like, yeah, we
- 33:07will be. We're, we're on the road
- 33:09preparing for season 2 and just getting really inspired and
- 33:15getting like really thoughtful content in place to give you

- 33:24And still send in their questions.

- 34:02approaching. Well, it's hard to believe.
- 34:05I know, right? Time flies, but you know, you're
- 34:09going to be ahead of the trends before you know it.
- 34:12So yeah. This has been fun.
