Transcript
- 0:00Hello, there. It's time for most things
- 0:03Kenobi. Hi everyone, welcome to another
- 0:18episode of most things Kenobi. A podcast about Obi-Wan Kenobi
- 0:21and all things Star Wars. I'm your host Leanne and I'm
- 0:25your host Lauren. And this week, we are going to
- 0:28shower Adam Driver with our love because we are talking all
- 0:33things. Adam Driver kylo.
- 0:34Ren Ben solo. Yeah.
- 0:36All in one because You can't have one without the other and
- 0:43Adam Driver is a wonderful human being and a phenomenal actor and
- 0:47it's high time. We give him some love on this
- 0:49show. Absolutely tall, dark handsome,
- 0:52and brooding, very brooding, very perfectly brooding, I would
- 0:57say yeah. And oh yeah you're really
- 1:00weirdly similar face to Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.
- 1:05Like did you ever see that like mashup family photo of yes, like
- 1:10a meme that It's around the internet of like it's so weird.
- 1:14It's but it's like perfect. It's so funny.
- 1:18He's strangely resembles them. Yeah, they do look good.
- 1:22As a family, it makes sense somehow, and I have some
- 1:26thoughts on kylo Ren /, Ben solo as a whole yes that we compared
- 1:31it on the care to dive in right away.
- 1:34Dive in right away. Sure, I think he was the most
- 1:38interesting character of the sequel trilogy.
- 1:42I wish we had seen more of Ben solo himself as opposed to you
- 1:47know the more twisted side. The more evil side Kylie.
- 1:52Yeah man. Hmm.
- 1:53And the thing that has always bothered me about this character
- 1:57has nothing to do with Adam Driver because he performed he
- 2:00executed that role flawlessly. Like I can't Envision anyone
- 2:04else doing that role. Yeah, but the thing that bothers
- 2:08me is like I really wanted like Leia.
- 2:12And hard to have a lovely child. Not some honored Darth Vader so
- 2:18much. Like yeah, I just pictured them
- 2:21having like a lovely child, you know.
- 2:24Yeah. Somebody strong and funny and
- 2:27with since humor and yes, was politically Savvy and kind of a
- 2:31hard-ass, you know. Yeah.
- 2:34And I guess in the end he was a beautiful soul for what he did.
- 2:38But damn anyway, I always had a little bit of sadness that they
- 2:42didn't have like a nicer child. Well, it's part of that whole
- 2:47like they've suffered enough, haven't they?
- 2:49I mean wasn't like, Leah watching all of Alderaan explode
- 2:52like wasn't that enough pain for her?
- 2:54But no she has to have a little child who turns into a brat who
- 2:59you want to become the next dark, lord of the Sith.
- 3:02So yeah, it's like what I've said before I like didn't kylo
- 3:06Ren. See Return of the Jedi like you
- 3:08can hello can turn back, bro. Yeah, I always kind of wanted I
- 3:13always kind of wanted that scene.
- 3:15We're Anakin's Force goes comes and tells kylo.
- 3:18Ren like listen you doing? Yeah.
- 3:22Stop now. Learn from my mistakes, but we
- 3:26didn't get that. That's fine.
- 3:27Yeah. But I would have been good.
- 3:30Adam Driver is wonderful as this character in the sequel Trilogy
- 3:37and just about every character I've ever seen him play in
- 3:40movies and TV shows and He's on stage as well, but I haven't
- 3:44seen him on stage. He's incredible, he's a really
- 3:49surprising actor. I think not surprising that he's
- 3:53good, that's not surprising at all.
- 3:55It's like his range is really incredible.
- 4:00Like I was just looking at his IMDb list and the the last few
- 4:04movies have been so different from each other, you know?
- 4:08Like, the last duel was that like latest Ridley Got movie,
- 4:13which I couldn't bring myself to watch, like I really wanted to
- 4:16see it. But also the subject matter is
- 4:18very dark and very depressing and I like was never in the mood
- 4:23to watch it. But I really want to because I
- 4:25want to see his performance in it and then the house of Gucci,
- 4:32I know? Right.
- 4:33Like just those two roles alone are so am very different.
- 4:37Yeah? Right.
- 4:38I mean that kind of varied, you know, And yeah, those ranges
- 4:45really, really incredible. I remember first seeing him on
- 4:49the show Girls and my God, it was kind of a dark roll it had
- 4:56it was dark at times and I just thought like who is this guy?
- 5:00He's really good like I didn't know who he was right.
- 5:04And he's kind of goofy looking but kind of handsome at the same
- 5:08time and there's just something about him and he was the best
- 5:11one on the show in my opinion. And again, he just had this
- 5:16range where he went from, almost volatile and angry and explosive
- 5:23and then like soft muted, apologetic.
- 5:26Mmm throughout his role in the show, and it was really
- 5:30captivating to watch. And that's what I found myself.
- 5:33Thinking throughout the sequel Trilogy is, he's captivating to
- 5:36watch. Yeah.
- 5:37With or without his shirt on Remember the high waisted pants?
- 5:44Of course. How could I forget?
- 5:46I jesus like, I love it. Ray is like, could you please
- 5:52like, do you have something you could put on?
- 5:54You could, can you put that away, please?
- 5:57I love that girl, please. Yeah, don't try.
- 6:02Yeah, it's search stared men and women alike rejoiced, right?
- 6:08The first time in Star Wars because finally, We got a
- 6:12shirtless. Well, no, no.
- 6:14Our dear Hayden with his metal arm.
- 6:17Oh, shirtless in Revenge of the Sith and listen.
- 6:20I'm not going to let that one go.
- 6:21That was beautiful. How could I forget?
- 6:23Yeah, Mmm, Mmm, Yeah that's seen awkward.
- 6:27But attractive that very, they're all awkward but it's
- 6:32true actually. It's always been the case even
- 6:35Leia and the gold bikini awkward.
- 6:38Super awkward to watch, don't enjoy that.
- 6:40But yeah. Yeah, so Kenobi needs to be
- 6:43awkward and half naked as well. That's our that's our only plea.
- 6:48Come on you and you've been training.
- 6:51But seriously the man has muscles.
- 6:53We know it. He has tattoos but they can
- 6:55cover that up. Yeah, there's make up for that
- 6:57come. Yeah, I was make up for that
- 6:59Robert Downey jr. Has a huge shoulder tattoo that
- 7:02they cover up all the time and Iron Man.
- 7:04So yes and we decisions as well not to not to peep on the Marvel
- 7:08thing but his whole chest is full of tattoos that they just
- 7:11constantly cover-up so, so we know it's possible.
- 7:14So come on Disney, don't don't make excuses anyways, that's not
- 7:18This is about, I mean it is what it's about, but it's not what
- 7:22it's about. He is very captivating though
- 7:26like right from the beginning. Because, you know, everyone
- 7:29talks about the scene where kylo Ren first takes off his helmet
- 7:32and everyone's like, oh, well, who is that?
- 7:36That's not what I meant was Skywalker hair.
- 7:38Yeah, I mean, seriously though. Yeah, well, and I particularly
- 7:44love the giant, like face car. I don't know he to do, do You
- 7:48okay? Cause that's gonna is that weird
- 7:50of me. I think it looks very like,
- 7:52handsome on him. Well, they moved it.
- 7:54You know? They moved it.
- 7:55They had to move it. They moved it.
- 7:58It used to go like right down by his nose and then they kind of
- 8:01shifted it off to the side a little afraid flies.
- 8:05It just kind of moved it. Yeah, surely a little the
- 8:09Nanobots that yo was it was huge it over yet totally.
- 8:14So the face car was a good thing.
- 8:17I love a good face car on a Skywalker.
- 8:21There's things in this episode yet again but yeah, my favorite
- 8:25moment at least in the force awakens is when he's
- 8:27interrogating Poe in that chair. And and kudos to Oscar, Isaac,
- 8:32by the way because that seems really intense.
- 8:34Anyways, an Oscar adds to it, he's an incredible actor by the
- 8:38way for anyone who's watching Moon night right now.
- 8:40Holy shit. That's all I'm gonna say.
- 8:43Oscar, Isaac has outdone himself, he's phenomenal in it.
- 8:47I haven't watched it, but he's such a good actor.
- 8:50He's such a good actor, literally.
- 8:52Anyway, So I was out of driver but like the the intensity that
- 8:59Adam brings Flawless, like, he's one of those people that can do
- 9:03it with his face. Mmm.
- 9:05Very few people can do that very well.
- 9:08Yeah, and not make it campy. You're like, like overacting.
- 9:12It's more like very sincere and that's what makes him scary, but
- 9:17it's also makes him relatable later.
- 9:22Like especially in like the rise of Skywalker when he has those
- 9:27moments eat, honestly, even in force awakens the moments with
- 9:31hon. Hmm.
- 9:33Oh my God, there's a moment. Your ability.
- 9:34You know me? Yes.
- 9:37That character has so many levels so many and amazing.
- 9:43That's what makes them interesting to me.
- 9:44He's literally the more conflict a character has the more I like
- 9:48them because that is something I identified with at least.
- 9:53Growth comes from conflict, or at least inner conflict that you
- 9:56have to face and then grow from. And we see that I wish we would
- 10:02have seen more, I think, the been so low moments where he's
- 10:06on exag all, and it gets the lightsaber from Ray somehow
- 10:11because they're a dyad. So they like occupy the same
- 10:15space time. They can just whatever it's
- 10:20fine. I'm here for whatever.
- 10:22But when he goes into like full Ben solo almost like a Jedi
- 10:26mode. Yeah, nothing beats it / Han
- 10:31Solo. It's like wait, if Han Solo were
- 10:34a Jedi, that's what he would be. Because he does the like side
- 10:38shoot. You know, like Honda's without
- 10:40looking, yes the degree but he does it so well in the thing is
- 10:45that's the son that I wanted Leia and Han to have.
- 10:48So I guess I did kind of get it. But but like for 30 seconds, It
- 10:53was like the last moments of the last movie, it's whatever.
- 10:56Yeah, I know. And the the moment with them
- 11:00together in the throne room where they both light their
- 11:02lightsabers and they're standing there him and Ray Side by Side.
- 11:06So good and then just so fucking crushing like that also only
- 11:12lasts a few seconds before, they rip their fucking hearts out.
- 11:15Again, once again, Star Wars is pain but we keep coming back for
- 11:19more but it's his In of all of it.
- 11:23Yeah, the questioning of himself that we see through all three
- 11:30films in the sequel, Trilogy is consistent.
- 11:33It's a consistent level of he's obviously very torn.
- 11:39Adam performs it very well. You know because these movies
- 11:42aren't shot back-to-back. So like you have to continue to
- 11:44be that flawless. you know, over time and maintain a level of
- 11:50character that witch His intensity, just brings it like
- 11:55full circle. It's his intensity, and
- 11:57Skywalker's are supposed to be intense and messy.
- 12:00And yes, he's the Skywalker. Because he has Skywalker blood
- 12:03even though he's just so low. Mmm, you know, he's a Skywalker
- 12:07or solo, you know. Yeah.
- 12:09Adam Driver went to Juilliard. Yeah.
- 12:13And his classmates described him as being so intense that he made
- 12:18them cry. When they were like learning,
- 12:22yeah, this was him and his infancy will say in his career
- 12:25and it's like, he hasn't lost any of that.
- 12:28Yeah, I was just listening to something right before this, I
- 12:31was listening to his Ted Talk which is really fascinating.
- 12:33What's yeah? Yeah.
- 12:35So if anybody isn't aware, he did a TED Talk and I highly
- 12:38recommend listening to it because it's all about his
- 12:40military experience. But then after he was medically
- 12:43separated from the military for dislocating, his sternum of all
- 12:47things, I don't even know how to bike.
- 12:49Accident. Yeah.
- 12:51How is that even possible? So I don't have intense when
- 12:54he's riding a bike. He doesn't do anything without
- 12:57intensity. but he said like when when he went to Juilliard that
- 13:03like he was still in like military mental mode, you know,
- 13:08and it was really hard for him to shift into the acting class
- 13:12because he had this idea that like his like, civilian problems
- 13:18weren't valid, you know, compared to like military
- 13:22problems and it was like this shift he was experiencing and so
- 13:25that's part of why I like he was so intense in class because Is
- 13:30he was learning too. He even said that he was
- 13:34learning to put words to feelings for like the first time
- 13:37in his life. Hmm.
- 13:39Because the in the military you're you don't express
- 13:42yourself, right? You know, and you're not
- 13:45supposed to, you know, like to a certain extent and so he was it
- 13:51was like a very intense period of growth in his life and
- 13:55Juilliard which makes sense and like it doesn't surprise me at
- 13:58all that. He's a Juilliard graduate.
- 14:02Yeah, his skill level is insane. Yeah, the Excellency, he brings
- 14:07and the like we said the range that he has is, is definitely
- 14:11one of a Juilliard graduate. For sure.
- 14:14Got to be able to play a character that is intense and
- 14:18frightening, and intimidating. And also play vulnerable and all
- 14:25in the same character, even is very impressive.
- 14:30And to be completely believable in every aspect of it.
- 14:33Especially in something that's like a Sci-Fi space drama to be
- 14:38real like very realistic, very relatable, and something that is
- 14:42like a fantasy. I think that really speaks
- 14:45volumes of the kind of caliber actor, he is.
- 14:48Hmm. I think in The Last Jedi, when
- 14:53they are on crate and they're in the at ATS or 80 80s depending
- 14:58on who you are, hmm. Are at ATS to me.
- 15:01But they're facing Luke Wright and Luke's the prism or Force
- 15:08projection, projection. Whatever it is.
- 15:11Yeah. And he screams like, and he's
- 15:14shouting, you so angry, I would have been so fucking afraid to
- 15:18be next to him because that's all very real.
- 15:21Yeah, not that he was angry at, you know, Mark Hamill for
- 15:24anything. But that screaming was legit.
- 15:27I mean he's putting it all. Into that.
- 15:31Yeah, that role. And yeah, I would have been one
- 15:35of those kids kids one of those classmates at Juilliard.
- 15:39Huge. Probably just would have started
- 15:40crying because of the overwhelming.
- 15:43Yes, too much. Yeah, there's a lot going on
- 15:46with this one and he's really good, you know.
- 15:48Yeah. I should he made us cry with Han
- 15:52Solo at the end of well, towards the end of the rise of
- 15:55Skywalker. That was a lot.
- 15:57That was, that was very intense. Yeah, that and even the end of
- 16:02the movie, We're like when he and Ray kiss and then he gives
- 16:06her that look like that smile. The first time he's happy or
- 16:10something. It's really sad.
- 16:11It's terrible painful because the smile is so hopeful it and
- 16:19like wholesome and free. Yeah, he's yeah of whatever
- 16:22weight he looks free and then he's just taken from us like
- 16:26everybody else. Yeah, that I still love him.
- 16:30So disappointed that they decided About to kill the
- 16:33character. I mean, I am too.
- 16:40Because damn, I don't, it's he could have had a damn good
- 16:45Redemption Arc, like a whole ass Arc with Ray seriously, he's
- 16:49redeemed school. Yeah.
- 16:51Yeah. Do your uncle, a solid and build
- 16:54a new school. That was seriously.
- 16:56The one you burnt down or to the ground.
- 16:58Yeah. And like Ray deserved a
- 17:01companion as well because she was The Loner, you know, the
- 17:06soul we left alone. Yeah.
- 17:08And like, okay. You can make the argument that
- 17:11she's like Luke and she's like a Sokka where they're like lone
- 17:15wolves but like she was always that way.
- 17:18Just like Luke was it's very heartbreaking, right?
- 17:21Is like it wouldn't be so terrible that she would have a
- 17:24companion or a partner to like carry on the her diet.
- 17:29She's like incomplete now. Yeah, because Ben solo and Ray
- 17:35were complete when they were together because they're a diet.
- 17:38No. Now she's She's like, always
- 17:40going to be missing part of herself.
- 17:42This is very depressing. It's very depressing.
- 17:46I kind of love it. I hate it and I love it.
- 17:49Yeah you know we go over this every week basically but she
- 17:53does have fin and a lot of people want to see Finn as a
- 17:57Jedi or a Jedi and training to join Ray.
- 17:59And I am here for that 110%. Say I feel like he his character
- 18:06if we're talking about characters and character arcs
- 18:08and things had the most potential in the force awakens,
- 18:12and unfortunately, it never got to a point where His character
- 18:17got to. Be fulfilled again to he ended
- 18:21up doing nothing almost he had. So and this is not John boyega.
- 18:27Who is fucking amazing? Oh my God, he's awesome.
- 18:30Has nothing to do with it. We're talking about I'm writing
- 18:32we're talking about storytelling here.
- 18:34Well and I think he feels that way as well.
- 18:36He oh, he absolutely does. Yeah, and I think that if they
- 18:39have any sequel Trilogy related TV shows or anything, anything
- 18:46he deserves to have a lightsaber in his hand and to become A Jedi
- 18:50alongside Ray, it's not easy to go from being a stormtrooper and
- 18:55defying all of that bullshit turning around and serving the
- 19:01resistance. Yeah, he's a good dude.
- 19:04He deserves some Independence. I would say yes and a best
- 19:07friend because he was alone as well.
- 19:09They were all loners. Yeah, that's really true.
- 19:13Pose parents died and he was basically raised on the base.
- 19:17And Finn was taken from his family and thrown into the first
- 19:22order, the first order. Yeah.
- 19:24He didn't even want to do it. And he, and he, you know,
- 19:26defected and Ray was just left over and over and over again.
- 19:31Yeah, just abandoned Forever. Three lost souls that found each
- 19:35other which I think is beautiful.
- 19:36It's a beautiful stories. Just like Han Leia and Luke.
- 19:40Yeah it's found family, right? Can we just talk about Adam
- 19:44Driver sense of humor for a minute, please?
- 19:47Do you mean Matt the radar repairman or whatever?
- 19:50It is from some fucking SNL? Oh my God.
- 19:55Brilliant i-it's he is so funny and just so good at not just
- 20:02performing comedy but also like making fun of himself like
- 20:05laughing at himself totally totally.
- 20:09He has like a deadpan appearance to his humor which yeah.
- 20:14Is even better because I don't know.
- 20:16He That's another side of his intensity is like, you know,
- 20:20humor is even like that. He's great, he's great and that
- 20:25SNL skit. He's been on SNL three times.
- 20:28He's honestly, his SNL performances are some of my
- 20:32favorite episodes of ss. Yeah.
- 20:34Yeah. Because there's not much to go
- 20:36off of there anymore, but not, you guys brought a little
- 20:39Sparkle to Saturday Night Live. I think I've sent you have.
- 20:43I sent you this, get where he's the like elementary schools.
- 20:47Science teacher. And he's trying to teach to kids
- 20:50like two little kids and experiment and he just like
- 20:53loses his shit. It's like a public television
- 20:56show. It's I feel like I have seen
- 20:58this, but I'm a means of, like, throwing this stapler across the
- 21:02two-stage. It's so funny.
- 21:04The way to it. Oh my God.
- 21:06I was gonna say, I really did I so many levels.
- 21:12General Grievous has yeah, yeah and he's also in that Jim
- 21:20jarmusch film, the zombie movie. Mmm.
- 21:23And he's so like a deadpan in that as well.
- 21:27And just like, yeah I think it's zombies.
- 21:29I'm thinking Zone. He said really like he's so
- 21:32perfect for it. He was also with Oscar Isaac in
- 21:36another film. Oh yeah.
- 21:38Inside Llewyn Davis which is an excellent I mean Oscar.
- 21:41Isaac, my God will do an episode on him because oh absolutely his
- 21:46range as well. Is all of these people are
- 21:50fantastic. He's worked.
- 21:53Honestly, it was some like crazy good directors to like, yes in
- 21:58that film is a Coen Brothers movie.
- 22:01Yes. And it was a, it was a Academy,
- 22:03award-nominated film? Yeah, yeah.
- 22:06I mean he had a small role but it's a goofy role.
- 22:10He's literally see. Singing a song with Justin
- 22:12Timberlake. Oh yeah, I remember this like.
- 22:16Yes, it's so weird. It's very like weird.
- 22:20Is it the 60s or the 70s? And that movement?
- 22:22No. I never actually, it's one of
- 22:25them. Oh my god.
- 22:28Did you know that Adam Driver beat out, Michael Fassbender for
- 22:32the role of kylo? Ren Let's sing my shit.
- 22:39What? You're right.
- 22:41Michael seems weird. That's weird to me.
- 22:45If you look at pictures of Michael Fassbender and you look
- 22:47at pictures of Adam Driver, do you not get a weird like That's
- 22:52a no for me on the Michael fast and he doesn't have the look or
- 22:56is it because no, he yeah, we've seen Adam Driver as Ben solo may
- 23:03be used to him and now but like, Michael Fassbender.
- 23:06Number one doesn't really resemble his fictional parents.
- 23:11He's too, it's also kind of too old.
- 23:13Yeah. Yeah, and number three, he's
- 23:16like to, he's like two X-Men. Thank you like I just I don't
- 23:25know. It's a no, it's just, you know,
- 23:28it doesn't make sense. Mmm, it's the wrong level of
- 23:31like, he's a great actor. I have a lot of respect for him,
- 23:33but him in Star Wars makes no sense at all II.
- 23:36Don't see it. I don't one of the articles I
- 23:39read though says that he was the second choice.
- 23:42How interesting? I just read that there was a
- 23:46rumor that he lost out the role of Dick, Grayson to Jesse
- 23:53Eisenberg or something like that.
- 23:55In the Batman vs Superman, who lost out Adam Driver.
- 24:01Really was like in the running to play dick.
- 24:03Drake Dick Grayson I was like first of all yes please.
- 24:07Yeah. Okay, well feel about that as a
- 24:09Dick Grayson lover he's actually wrong very much so for the part
- 24:13but I He's fine with it, you're loud.
- 24:18Well because decrease in is boyish and Adam Driver is not
- 24:22boyish. She is like deep brooding and
- 24:24manly with a very deep voice and Dick.
- 24:26Grayson is never that but I don't care and I want him to
- 24:29show me that he can play the part.
- 24:31I'm all for it. If he shapes and cuts his hair
- 24:34he could look like a child. I mean I mean not child.
- 24:38What am I saying? He couldn't look younger days.
- 24:41Yeah, yeah. Apparently he's like he's into
- 24:47the idea so let's do that. Like I definitely would pick
- 24:52Adam Driver over Jace. Jesse Eisenberg for the role any
- 24:56day of the week but let's talk about Logan.
- 24:59Lucky that Adam drivers in because a lot of people like
- 25:02this movie, I however couldn't get more than 20 minutes into it
- 25:06before I had to turn it off. I thought it was that bad.
- 25:09I didn't even get to Adam Driver in the movie.
- 25:11Oh, he's the best part. I know and everybody.
- 25:14Told me that and I just couldn't deal with the first 20 to 30
- 25:18minutes to even get to him. Yeah.
- 25:21So I didn't make it. I'm sorry Adam.
- 25:24It's very like it. He is the best part because he's
- 25:27very dead pan in it. Yeah.
- 25:30And that's why it's great. He's funny and I think he's like
- 25:33I think the characters like missing an arm and like he just
- 25:36yeah. It's all very like he's very
- 25:39funny in it but I could the rest of it.
- 25:44Ooh, I could. I'm okay, without it.
- 25:46Yeah, yeah. It was rough for me to get
- 25:47through. I apologize to anyone who loves
- 25:49the movie or enjoyed it. I just said, I couldn't, I
- 25:52couldn't make it. If you can't get to me in the
- 25:55first, you know, half hour. It's a no-go.
- 25:57Yeah, you know, did you watch marriage story?
- 26:02I didn't, I couldn't bring myself to watch it.
- 26:05It's got to be good. I heard it was I heard it was
- 26:08amazing? Yeah, absolutely hands down, has
- 26:12to be good, you know, he's In it.
- 26:15He had just, I just, I'm in a state in my life where I cannot
- 26:21bring myself to watch anything depressing.
- 26:23Yeah. Everything is too depressing as
- 26:26it. Is it really it like everything
- 26:30comes you come away feeling like, kind of hopeless?
- 26:33Yeah, I've heard. It's very like realistic and I
- 26:36just don't like need to see a relationship dissolving like I
- 26:40watched her. And that was enough, you know,
- 26:43back in the day. Oh my God.
- 26:45That was I was like I never need to see that movie ever again.
- 26:48It was so depressing to me. That's did you want black
- 26:52klansman I really wanted to see that but I never saw that one.
- 26:56I have hurt. He got an Academy Award
- 26:58nomination for that one. I think.
- 27:00Is that the one? I think that's one of his
- 27:03mother's an Academy Award nomination.
- 27:05Yeah. I think he's been nominated
- 27:06twice and I think that was one of them.
- 27:09He's such a good actor. Goddamn, he really is.
- 27:11I mean, and that's why we're here, we're here because I don't
- 27:15think the role of kylo, Ren, or Ben solo.
- 27:17Whatever you want to call him. Could have gone to anyone else.
- 27:22Now seeing the range that Adam gave to the character and yeah
- 27:26he made us care. He made us fucking care and
- 27:29that's really important because we don't care about a lot of it
- 27:33right now. You know there's a few things we
- 27:37care about in the sequel Trilogy.
- 27:38There's all those are things we do care about.
- 27:41Yeah. A lot of things we don't.
- 27:42Yeah, we could take your leave quite a bit of it.
- 27:46But he is the best. Well one of the best parts of
- 27:48it. I really, I really enjoyed his
- 27:51performance and like his chemistry with Daisy Ridley.
- 27:55Whether or not your reloj shipper, just even their
- 27:59performances next to each other but it's very captivating.
- 28:04They did complement one another very well.
- 28:06Hmm, and they're fighting style to they train together and did a
- 28:10lot of fighting together and I think, well Daisy Ridley's a
- 28:13badass. I mean she is built She is she's
- 28:18hard-working. She actress.
- 28:20Yeah. And she's beautiful.
- 28:23And it's a beautiful spirit. She is so funny and always
- 28:27smiling. And yes, and we need more of
- 28:29those. We need to do an episode about
- 28:31her. We all these people, we have so
- 28:34many people to go through. It's really hard to choose who
- 28:37we talked about, we just go with whatever we're feeling and we
- 28:39felt like Adam Driver today. So that's why we're talking
- 28:42about them. It was time.
- 28:44Yeah, we were Admiring him from afar or just, if we're talking
- 28:49about what he looks like, also in the throne room from The Last
- 28:52Jedi, he gives me major like 19, early 1990s, Trent, Reznor
- 28:59Vibes. Hmm, you would know?
- 29:01Yes, I like that. Yeah, I know what I also like
- 29:04about The Throne Room. Mmm is when he does that little
- 29:08finger move and brings the light saber Cuts it through snoke.
- 29:14I enjoyed that seeing, I know that's fantastic.
- 29:17Yes, those red guards or whatever, literally doing
- 29:22nothing, but no does, it doesn't matter, like the whole spinny,
- 29:25it's like all for show, but I don't care because watching him
- 29:28and Ray fight together is super fun.
- 29:30Yes. Yes, all of that.
- 29:32There was a lot of longing stares into each other's eyes.
- 29:36Well, unlike clearly they're like in sync, right?
- 29:38They've never fought side by side but there's still like
- 29:42Yeah, it's great. I love it is good.
- 29:44I think for subtle that subtle little movement with his, yeah,
- 29:47hurted, like, because he can't give give himself away.
- 29:51Yeah, it's very good. It's very good.
- 29:54It's fantastic. Yeah, that's a little shit.
- 29:56I like about Star Wars. It's good shit.
- 30:00Won't hear me say much about little ass Jedi, so I think
- 30:05everything I liked about that movie was in that scene.
- 30:08So pretty, pretty much yeah till they broke.
- 30:12Anakin's lightsaber. Then I have Roper.
- 30:14I have real fucking problems with that but it's fine.
- 30:16It's whatever we can go into that and, uh, another time.
- 30:20Yeah. But bottom line, we love you
- 30:22Adam Driver. Turning it over to you guys and
- 30:32gals. What is your favorite Adam
- 30:35Driver performance? Other than his role as kylo Ren
- 30:38and been Solo in Star Wars? Tell us.
- 30:40We'd love to know. Okay, join us back here.

- 30:55it takes place in the desert on Tatooine and it's actually
- 30:58really, really beautiful. And it stars James Arnold
- 31:00Taylor. He has a small part in it, so
