  Speaker 1: It's this time every weekday morning that I come to

  Speaker 1: meet with you as you get your day started, to

  Speaker 1: help you start your day the right way, and that

  Speaker 1: is by taking some time for God.

  Speaker 1: Not just time rearranging your priorities or getting your life
• 0:24
  Speaker 1: on the right track, but personal time with God, the
• 0:29
  Speaker 1: foundation of your spiritual life is your daily personal relational
• 0:35
  Speaker 1: time with God, because if your relationship with God is right,
• 0:40
  Speaker 1: all of the other spiritual issues in your life will
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: come into line.
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: We're talking this week about God's grace in our lives.
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: God's grace in our lives begins when He enters into
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: our lives and begins to make us aware of our
• 0:59
  Speaker 1: need for Him, and we turn in faith to Jesus
• 1:03
  Speaker 1: Christ and find God forgiving our sins, bringing us into
• 1:07
  Speaker 1: His family, entering into life with us, and our whole
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: life changes. We are born again.
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: But God's grace doesn't end there. It keeps on reaching
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: into our lives, into the everyday issues of our lives,
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: and on the relational level we offend God even after
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: we become Christians, don't we? And we need His relational forgiveness,
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: even though as a judge He has already forgiven us
• 1:38
  Speaker 1: for our moral offences against Him.
• 1:40
  Speaker 1: But to keep the relationship healthy we constantly need God's
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: grace in our lives. James talks about this in James
• 1:48
  Speaker 1: chapter 4, verse 6 with this simple statement. He says,
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: God is opposed to the proud.
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: But gives grace to the humble.

  Speaker 1: You know, sometimes God brings difficulty in our lives to
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: turn our attention back to Him, because isn't it true
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: in your life that when things are going great,
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: You feel like you have your life together. You don't
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: have this sense that you need God in your life.
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: You feel like you're the master of your own fate,
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: and if you continue a focus on God in your life,
• 2:29
  Speaker 1: it's easy to just kind of think of God like
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: a little boost on your self-made journey through life, kind
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: of like God is the spare tyre in the boot
• 2:39
  Speaker 1: of your car.
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: Um, God says when that happens He's opposed to you.
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: No wonder He allows difficulty into our lives because the
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: most important thing in your life is your relationship with Him.

  Speaker 1: And when you begin to neglect that, your life is
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: moving off God's plan for you.
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: God's biggest goal in your life is to destroy your pride.
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: And sooner or later in your life God will allow
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: the things that you are trusting in.
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: To come crashing down around you.
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: Or he'll let you come to the place where you
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: recognise that none of your accomplishments have done for you
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: what you thought they would in your inner life.
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: And I hope that when that day comes you will
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: humble yourself. You won't hold on to your pride. You'll
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: humble yourself and you will recognise your deep inner need
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: to make things right with God.
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: You know, when God finds someone who finally acknowledges that
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: they need his forgiveness.

  Speaker 1: When they recognise that they need His help and turn
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: to Him in faith, then God pours out His grace
• 4:08
  Speaker 1: on that person. He forgives them. He helps them. He
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: transforms their inner life.
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: I wonder if you sense today that your pride has
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: kept you from really turning to God in your life
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: and putting your trust in Him.
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: Why don't you take a little time right now to
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: speak to God.
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: And express to him your total need for him, your
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: dependence on him, your need for his forgiveness. Ask him
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: to forgive you and to get involved in your life.
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: You want to follow his lead in your life.
• 4:48
