- 0:07Welcome to Keeping It Real with Aaron and Terry.
- 0:10Sponsored by Imperfection by Aaron.
- 0:13And produced by Magic Door Studio.
- 0:15On this week's episode we will be discussing money and power
- 0:20and how it impacts on relationship, the modern
- 0:23relationship dynamics. Did you know not long ago that
- 0:28women couldn't even open a bank account?
- 0:33They couldn't take out a loan, they couldn't buy any property,
- 0:37and when they got married they had to quit their job.
- 0:42That's crazy. I actually remember that.
- 0:44I remember. And nowadays actually it's
- 0:46completely changed. Now there's a case of women in
- 0:52some homes and more. They are the main breadwinners
- 0:56and I wonder how that impacts egos in the house.
- 0:59What kind of what's the word I'm looking for?
- 1:02Friction. Does it 'cause if any?
- 1:06That's an interesting one for viewers to Mull over.
- 1:11What way are people working their finances today so we know
- 1:18what happens in the past or has happened in the past?
- 1:23What are we doing now? What has society done to change
- 1:31us as men and women and how we interact?
- 1:35OK, can I stop you for one minute?
- 1:37I have a theory, he has a theory.
- 1:39So my theory is that life now has been designed in a way with
- 1:48the costs, inflation, all that kind of stuff.
- 1:50Not going to go deep into it but it's designed to make us in some
- 1:54ways struggle because you can no longer have a one income family
- 2:00anymore. Both parents have to, as far as
- 2:03I can make out, work unless the one the one of the parents have
- 2:07an extremely lucrative job so which is very rare.
- 2:12While I don't understand the concept of why women have to
- 2:17give up work or why they couldn't own property or take
- 2:21out a bank loan, I don't understand that.
- 2:25I don't understand that either. Actually, no.
- 2:27I am definitely very well aware of the impact that had on those
- 2:32women. So we have seen women stranded
- 2:36with children, with men who have deserted them.
- 2:39I don't know if anyone remembers a thing called deserted wives.
- 2:44I could tell you stories about women that were left with their
- 2:48children and their husbands drank all the money.
- 2:52So very common. Completely understand how women
- 2:58needed to and should have the right for equal pay 100%.
- 3:05But should it not be designed that if a woman chooses to be a
- 3:14home where our children chooses like is it natural for us to be
- 3:19more maternal and want to be at home with our kids?
- 3:22Is this a like nature nature kind of thing?
- 3:27So sorry I'm jumping in here real quick right Because you
- 3:30talked about egos there and men right?
- 3:33And even women. Is it more a natural instinct?
- 3:37Like are we forgetting right? This is a hot topic, but we like
- 3:42hot hot topic. Sorry girls, I got a bit of
- 3:45Botox in my lip and I can't freaking move.
- 3:48OK so my pictures look amazing but my lip it's got blah.
- 3:52Blah blah blah blah. That's all that matters, babe.
- 3:54So we're keeping it real. We're keeping it real.
- 3:57I got some freaking Botox in my lip and I can't move it.
- 4:01OK, back to the question at hand.
- 4:03The hot topic. OK, I know there should
- 4:09definitely be equal rights for everybody, OK.
- 4:12But are we forgetting that fundamentally we are probably
- 4:17animals underneath it all? Is it a woman's instinct to want
- 4:22to be a home? Is it a man's instinct to want
- 4:26to provide and protect her family?
- 4:29Is that why in modern society when women are earning a lot,
- 4:35that sometimes men don't like it?
- 4:39Well, I always I always think about this, right?
- 4:42And now I don't know. This is just something is this
- 4:44something that was instilled in us as a belief or is it actually
- 4:48true? Right.
- 4:50If you can't take it back to caveman times, the hunter
- 4:54gatherer was always the man went out.
- 4:57Even if you look at animal Kingdom on National Geographic,
- 5:02the lion, the the male lion goes out haunting, you know, to bring
- 5:06back the food. So I don't know is this the the
- 5:11way nature has? Like the queen bee.
- 5:14Made it. That Queen.
- 5:16And I know, I know they. Are women and they the men go
- 5:20out, they get. The men go out but the hot, but
- 5:22the women are looking after the actual nest.
- 5:27Yeah. Or.
- 5:28The homestead or the Kingdom, whatever you want to call it.
- 5:32Is it Anson queen bee? Is that like they go out, they
- 5:35come back, they give it and then they do the job with the queen
- 5:38bee and then she like on a live them Sounds like a great job.
- 5:43Any any jobs count I. Wouldn't really allow just yet.
- 5:50I'm a little bit stressed today, girls.
- 5:52No, no, she. No, she.
- 5:53So Cherry's like you're a bit feisty today.
- 5:55A bit. Well, but I'm kind of used to
- 5:57you like that. And I'm like, I'm used to you.
- 5:59I'm used to you when you, when you have a lot going on, you get
- 6:01like this, you know, so. Here is the modern dynamics.
- 6:04I think that women really have so much to juggle.
- 6:09Like we really are. And this is the part where I'm
- 6:12like, as a society, have we got it right?
- 6:16Because I feel like even though it's equal, is it really?
- 6:22Is it equal like? OK, can I stop you for a minute?
- 6:27I know you're I. Feel sorry for myself today
- 6:29Terry, I have a lot you. Can feel sorry for yourself all
- 6:31you want. There's no problem.
- 6:32You can do that, right? That's what we're here for,
- 6:34right? But also, I want to just point
- 6:36out one other thing as well, OK, men, Yeah, Like you will voice
- 6:41what's going on for you, right? I feel it's unfair that I'm
- 6:44doing this, blah, blah, blah. I'm not saying you do that,
- 6:46that, but you will do that if you want, right?
- 6:49Men do that. Will suffer in science.
- 6:52There will be men who listen hold on a minute.
- 6:56A lot of men do right? Suffer in silence because their
- 6:59pride and their ego at being the provider yeah won't allow them
- 7:05to turn around and say I am struggling correct me if I'm
- 7:09wrong. If if any viewers want to
- 7:11correct me or agree with me, please feel free to comment
- 7:16both. I know that sometimes the
- 7:19pressure on a man can be so much that they've actually unalived
- 7:23themselves due to financial boredom.
- 7:26Yeah. So that's that's how serious
- 7:28this stuff goes there. Aaron, do you know what I.
- 7:30Mean, that's what I mean. As men and women, have we also
- 7:33like grown so far apart instead of coming together and trying to
- 7:38understand? Well, we we, well, we at we in
- 7:42particular our own experience, we were a part for a while.
- 7:47When you say a part. Like as in, I don't mean we were
- 7:50a part physically. What I mean is like in the
- 7:53financial sense, OK? It's not that we were a part.
- 7:55We just never really discussed it.
- 7:58We didn't really have to like as in.
- 8:02It's a hot topic. I, I, I'll be honest with you.
- 8:04For a long time I suffered in silence.
- 8:09I did. Somebody get a priest because
- 8:13he. Is in.
- 8:14My face. Yeah, Lip is moving ground now.
- 8:18No, I'm not even messing. Yeah, Lip is moving around.
- 8:20Now I still. Have the loan.
- 8:23And ringing in my ear. Hold on a minute.
- 8:25Hold on a minute, Hold on a minute.
- 8:27I owe €300 to the US. People, Yeah.
- 8:30And I'll tell you, all the things mountain up together is
- 8:33stress. Life is stress.
- 8:35I've talked to other people. Why does money cause so much
- 8:39trouble for everyone? That's just the way it is.
- 8:43OK, so here's the thing as well that I've noticed, right Again,
- 8:47nobody wants to talk about money.
- 8:49Is that an Irish thing? Like, what would our cultures do
- 8:52that like in America? Like, well.
- 8:54I. Was just about to talk about
- 8:55that and you just completely caught me after.
- 8:57Sorry. OK, so.
- 8:59Which are non moving lip now basically right?
- 9:05Me and you a while ago, some time ago came together and we
- 9:10came up with a plan yes because of our jobs and what we do we
- 9:16don't have 9 to 5 jobs and we don't get paid on a particular
- 9:20day a block of money it comes we.
- 9:22Don't know what comes in yes. And it's different.
- 9:24It's some weeks I earned this, some weeks are announced this
- 9:28and and vice versa. It changes all the time because
- 9:31of the type of work we do. And we're in entertainment, ads,
- 9:36all that kind of stuff. And Terry's too.
- 9:38Top Shop for everyone looking for all your great bargains.
- 9:42Please hit me up. Just get that in there.
- 9:47And but anyway, on a series now so we don't know.
- 9:52But we had to come up with a plan because the dribs and drabs
- 9:56and money coming from different sources because of the jobs we
- 9:59do caused friction or pressure to mount, whether it be me or
- 10:06you. So we had to come together, come
- 10:09up with a plan and we were actually lucky enough to be in a
- 10:11position to do that. But also.
- 10:14But hold on. So now we have come up with a
- 10:17plan where the answer to all this friction is unity between
- 10:24the man and the woman. Yeah.
- 10:26Regardless of money earnings, you earn more than me a lot of
- 10:29the time. Most of the time actually,
- 10:32right? I learned more than you
- 10:34sometimes that's just the nature of our business.
- 10:38Either way, we had to come together and go.
- 10:40It's all coming into our household.
- 10:43Let's walk this together as a team effort because I'm not side
- 10:47money off so I can have some amazing plan that I want to run
- 10:50off on you. Do you know what I mean?
- 10:51Like and I know you're the same. Well, I.
- 10:55Our life is together for our family.
- 10:58So I think as well like I might keep a bit aside money from like
- 11:01my little. But that's OK.
- 11:02But I think women do that and anyway just out of like kind of
- 11:06probably because of what we were talking about in the old times.
- 11:08So because of the non sort of the restrictions on women of
- 11:13old. They call to runaway money.
- 11:17I can't runaway money. Dash.
- 11:19Yeah. So what I've noticed from
- 11:21talking to people, so I've asked a few people about how their
- 11:24relationship works financially because it's really a taboo
- 11:28topic and everyone is afraid to talk about it because they're
- 11:31like, well, am I getting the raw deal or what way does it work?
- 11:36So a lot of women will say the bigger things like the communion
- 11:41cards, the birthdays, the Christmas, the house
- 11:44decorations, the clothes. Women will look after that
- 11:47because men don't really value that and they don't see that.
- 11:50Like our nails, our hairs are clothes.
- 11:55Obviously we put a lot more into that then no, not all men.
- 11:58I'm not saying all men, but the women I know we would probably
- 12:03spend a bit more on our maintenance than a man, right?
- 12:06And even getting ready, it took. Me some yeah, I think that's the
- 12:10case for most women, eh, you, you have to kind of spend more
- 12:15on maintenance as in IE makeup and this that and you are like,
- 12:18you know, like foundation and all this kind of stuff is not
- 12:23cheap. Yeah, so.
- 12:24So that's the thing, like, not so long ago.
- 12:27And there is still some people who get a wage off their
- 12:30husband. Yeah.
- 12:31So men and women walk and the man gives the woman a wage.
- 12:36Yeah, right. So this was really interesting.
- 12:40So I'm like, does he give you a wage just for you?
- 12:43Being a wife, I would actually love to know from our viewers,
- 12:47how common is that now? I would love to know that.
- 12:51So if there's if there is people out there, will you please get
- 12:54in contact? Because it's something that I
- 12:57don't even think about because of our situation.
- 12:59Yeah. Where we just kind of we just
- 13:02we, we just come together and get on with things.
- 13:05So a lot of the times as well, what before we did that, I would
- 13:10not tell Terry about the price of stuff in the house.
- 13:14I would not come to him with like the clothes stuff or any of
- 13:17that. All that stuff.
- 13:19I would nearly probably hide from you because I wouldn't want
- 13:23you to stress out. And also this probably comes
- 13:26back to maybe my preconceived idea that if the man who's
- 13:32providing all the money that he might have the last say, now
- 13:37you're not spending 10 grand on that or you're not spending four
- 13:41grand on a new sofa. And for me, I did not want that
- 13:46to happen. So I think, I think as men and
- 13:52women, and I suppose it's just individuals as well, right?
- 13:55Like a man might pay for the mortgage and then the woman
- 14:01might pay for the shuffling and stuff like that.
- 14:03So do you combine it? Do you have a savings also tear?
- 14:08Some people just aren't good with finances.
- 14:11So how do you navigate that? Also, we could have people who
- 14:15are in addiction, right? We could have like that's really
- 14:19high on the rise even for young people.
- 14:21Back in the day, men were like spending the money on alcohol.
- 14:25It's still pretty high nowadays. Do women feel that if a man is
- 14:33given most of the money that he has the last say?
- 14:37Do women still feel that if a man is providing that if he
- 14:42leaves, he leaves their stranded, which is a huge thing?
- 14:46I know so many girls that husbands or partners just opt
- 14:52out. They don't pay maintenance.
- 14:55They leave them in huge like arrears where they could lose
- 15:00their homes and they walk away. And a lot of the time, the man
- 15:05who does walk away will walk away with an kind of intent on
- 15:12hammering the wife. Whether you think about the
- 15:17children, if there's children involved, they want to hurt them
- 15:20by not paying. So.
- 15:24For and also sometimes they're walking away to another family
- 15:27as well. Yeah, because they're having an
- 15:29affair. So we don't know.
- 15:30You just don't know. And is today's society gone
- 15:35where women want to be independent?
- 15:40But is it because we had no choice?
- 15:43Like I said this to someone the other day, like I don't ever
- 15:47want you to be in a position where somebody has power over
- 15:53you that they could just. OK, so can I have a divorce?
- 15:59Why do you want a divorce? You said you didn't want anyone
- 16:01to have power over me. Don't make me laugh.
- 16:08Why don't you do this? Actually don't know.
- 16:11It's just one of the many things.
- 16:12Yeah, dynamite, Dynamite. How does it feel for men in
- 16:20general? This is back to nature versus
- 16:23nurture. I feel this is me just feeling
- 16:27right that men struggle if the woman is more of a powerhouse.
- 16:33Like look, look at the Kardashians, for instance.
- 16:35Yeah, I would say that's true. And I would say it's again goes
- 16:39back to what I said earlier about caveman times.
- 16:42Men, instinctively, are providers.
- 16:48So do you think it's a man thing or do you think it's how order
- 16:51men view order men? So like, Oh yeah, she's the main
- 16:55provider. Remember one thing as well, like
- 16:58the Kardashians are that much of a powerhouse corporation, you
- 17:04might as well call them now that they have changed the whole way
- 17:07life is with the influence they have.
- 17:11Yeah, but. So women want to be the boss,
- 17:15ladies, a lot of the time. In fairness, a lot of women do.
- 17:20Yeah. And I'm here, and I don't
- 17:22disagree with that. I don't disagree with that at
- 17:24all. More look to them.
- 17:26But do you think being the boss lady, then if you maybe don't,
- 17:31maybe a man isn't OK? I think Sutton has to give.
- 17:41So if you have somebody who is, let's say, trying to succeed at
- 17:46life, OK, yeah, unless you are super rich and have like,
- 17:52nannies and basically a lot of help at home, somebody has to do
- 17:58it at home. Somebody has to pick.
- 18:00Up the homework, do the do the the the bread and butter work at
- 18:04home you mean? Yeah, like with the kids, where
- 18:06And do you think that if it's the woman who's out there front
- 18:11and centre and a man is doing a bit more of that at home?
- 18:16But I think that is the case. I go down to the shop, I go down
- 18:20to the supermarket now and I see, OK, let's call us back.
- 18:25On my way to the supermarket I see men out walk on their
- 18:27boogies. Yeah, we've spoke we.
- 18:29Spoke with this last time and a lot of the men are out in the
- 18:33shopping. I'm sure a lot of men are taking
- 18:36care of the household as well, but do you?
- 18:39Myself included. Do you think men struggle with
- 18:41that? Well, I don't particularly
- 18:44struggle with it now do. You think they struggle with a
- 18:48woman maybe earning a bit more than them?
- 18:51Sometimes why I don't know. I don't know that I think a man
- 18:55wants to be able to look after his woman.
- 18:58So and I think it comes down to a case of a lot of people think
- 19:05and are defined by the size of their bank balance in this day
- 19:11and age. Well, we have to survive.
- 19:14It is, it is true. It is, it is true.
- 19:16It's it's like how you behave towards someone is like, I
- 19:20actually see anything on on a meme there a while ago.
- 19:24How you greet someone or talk to someone is basically the first
- 19:29question is So what do you do? And if they say something
- 19:32impressive, you go, Oh my God, as they say something that
- 19:35doesn't impress, you'll basically turn your head and
- 19:37move on to the next one. So this again will.
- 19:40Go back. That's a.
- 19:41But that's not just a thing of now.
- 19:43That has always been a thing. But I think this also goes back
- 19:47to again, maybe back in the day where when women wear a home.
- 19:52OK, let's go back in the day where women had to quit their
- 19:56job when they got married or pregnant, which was usually both
- 20:01because you couldn't really do and their work at home was so
- 20:07undervalued. So for instance, there's this
- 20:10Netflix, I think it's called like Ask John or some or dear.
- 20:13So it's actually real. It's really sad.
- 20:18So she watched him like. Grow, grow, grow.
- 20:23But he could not grow without where she was at home with the
- 20:26children. She gave up her teaching job.
- 20:29She was the pusher behind right. The unsung hero.
- 20:34The unsung hero and what happened was he went off with a
- 20:39secretary, right? And she lost.
- 20:42No, she went bash you crazy, right?
- 20:44And. Yeah, justifiably.
- 20:46Right. I think she went a bit far.
- 20:47I think she's actually in prison.
- 20:49But what I'm saying is is again in court, a lot of the times
- 20:53it's like this man couldn't be where he is without the woman.
- 20:57But I also feel like that if the woman is is the boss lady as we
- 21:03call it, because I don't think a woman can be super successful if
- 21:09she doesn't have the right person behind her because I
- 21:13think the right partner behind her or him will actually hinder
- 21:18it. But that just comes down to to
- 21:19the teamwork. So that's what I mean is an ego
- 21:23where it's like, OK, so she might be front and centre and
- 21:26she might be earning this because that's her earning
- 21:29power, but she couldn't do what she's doing without me.
- 21:35Yeah. So is that again, where we need
- 21:38to focus on the value of being at home?
- 21:42It is such a hard job being at home.
- 21:44We don't know. Very much so.
- 21:46Now listen, come here. I've spoke about this like we
- 21:48spoke about this on the last podcast as well.
- 21:50I'm out working at night time. You are in a position where you
- 21:55can do a lot of your work. I'm not saying at all from home,
- 21:59which is a good thing, but it's also a bad thing because and I'm
- 22:04getting out at night time even though I'm not having a I'm not
- 22:07going party and I'm literally playing music for people but I'm
- 22:10still getting out of the actual house.
- 22:13Yeah, and you're mixing. It's, it's not that I I'm, I'm,
- 22:17I'm communicating with people that are not in my house.
- 22:21Do you know what I mean? Like the outside of with the
- 22:22outside world, I suppose, yeah. That means you have a life.
- 22:25It's it doesn't mean I have a it's like, like going out
- 22:29singing at night time. I know other people here behind
- 22:33the scenes will agree with me. It's not like a party life, you
- 22:38know what I mean? It's like.
- 22:40It's a job. It's I don't, to be quite honest
- 22:44with you, I'm not a very sociable person, right?
- 22:47You know that, right? I walk into a pub I'm I'm
- 22:50parking the car up and I'm like, if it's a pub, I haven't played
- 22:52and I'm like, I'm up to hear what anxiety gone.
- 22:55Oh Jesus, what am I going to be like?
- 22:56What's the sound going to be like?
- 22:57Is it going to be a good desk? Is it going to be this?
- 22:59Is the crowd going to be all right?
- 23:00You know, all this kind of thing.
- 23:01All these things are going through my head, right, But I'm
- 23:04on the owned in my head right. Then I'm walking up to the
- 23:08place. Then I'm going in.
- 23:09I'm setting up. I'm not talking to anybody.
- 23:12I guess start playing. I'm singing.
- 23:13I'm still not talking to anyone. I haven't spoke to anyone the
- 23:17odd time. Then someone will come up.
- 23:18Can you play this song? I will or I won't.
- 23:22I finish, I pack up and I go home on my own.
- 23:27So both at the same time. I'm still getting out of the
- 23:31house. Yeah, where I.
- 23:33Don't you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 23:34So it will be the equivalent to me being, for all towns and
- 23:38purposes, A Courier where I worked on my own in a van
- 23:43delivering how We don't. There's a delivery boy.
- 23:47So. I've always kind of been in jobs
- 23:49like that, gentlemen. I again, I think it goes back to
- 23:53like a personality type. I also know people whose
- 24:00husbands always just work, OK, constantly work, provide a lot
- 24:07of money. But that's where the book stops.
- 24:11They do, absolutely. Know I wouldn't.
- 24:13I wouldn't like to be like that. No, I actually enjoy not being
- 24:19able to find stuff in the house when you ask me to look for
- 24:23some. I I enjoy that.
- 24:25I enjoy my home life. I love my home.
- 24:28I love being in my home. But I do believe as well that
- 24:33you need a balance and you do need to get out of the house.
- 24:36Oh yeah, at least once a day. To do whatever.
- 24:40This was a really good concept, you know, of like, modern
- 24:45society. OK, what are the younger girls
- 24:49doing now? Are they paying for their own
- 24:52dates? Aren't they paying half?
- 24:56Are they paying for nothing? And where are the younger girls
- 25:01nowadays? So what are they actually doing?
- 25:04Like if a man is bringing a woman on a date, Like let's say
- 25:09you were to not be with me right now.
- 25:13If you brought a woman on a date, would you pay for it?
- 25:16I would, yeah. How many dates would you pay for
- 25:20all of them? When would you go?
- 25:22I can't keep bringing her on dates.
- 25:24Well, I wouldn't be bringing her on too many dates anyway,
- 25:29because if you know, you know, like, like you don't like.
- 25:32So the so the dating just stopped.
- 25:34No, what I mean is you go say one day, I'd pay two dates, I'd
- 25:38pay after two dates. You're going to know the person.
- 25:42Yeah. And you're going to decide
- 25:44whether you're going to actually pursue this in a long term sense
- 25:48now. So basically 2 undone.
- 25:50No, I didn't say 2 undone did. I don't be putting words to me
- 25:53about theater, right? But I will know after two dates
- 25:58whether this one is for me or not.
- 26:01They actually say that as well. I I saw that that men put women
- 26:05in categories. And I go where?
- 26:07I know data you know what are or friend.
- 26:12If you you know what are early, it's not going to last.
- 26:18We'll never come here. Look, don't shoot down, don't
- 26:20shoot me for that. I'm sure there are people who
- 26:23have actually been different to that.
- 26:25But for me, in my experience, anybody that I had that
- 26:32experience with, it never lasted because opinions like.
- 26:38OK, so this again, is this our generation?
- 26:42Is this how we feel? No offense, but we are old.
- 26:46Now this is what I mean. So is our parents didn't do any
- 26:51of that till they got married and even if they did, they
- 26:53denied it. OK, so our generation, if we did
- 26:58it too soon, you're not going to get another date.
- 27:01So right, I'll hold. On So what's today's society?
- 27:04So now we have money, sex, power, Yeah.
- 27:08Right, viewers, we're going to ask you another question.
- 27:10What's all the young horns doing?
- 27:12Tell us what the young horns and the young guns are doing.
- 27:17Your bro. In the dating sense.
- 27:20You're paying for your own are. You just getting together, doing
- 27:23the nasty and leaving a bee or what he is doing.
- 27:27Are you being traditional about it?
- 27:28Are you being gentlemen and women?
- 27:31Are you being ladies or are you being not ladies?
- 27:35Let us know. Wow, see, they don't feel like
- 27:37that nowadays. You can't say that they're like
- 27:39powerful in their own right and they can do what they.
- 27:41Want. Yeah, but I can ask them if
- 27:42they're being ladies or not ladies.
- 27:44They know what I'm talking about.
- 27:45Yeah, but that's your perception of a lady.
- 27:48That's a bit I don't. Understand what you mean.
- 27:51So basically, are you implying that if she does the deeds?
- 27:55OK, ladylike. OK.
- 27:56That's what I meant to say. OK, ladylike.
- 27:59OK, so, so again, it's all these new.
- 28:02Dynamics that people to our own personal experience of this.
- 28:06I made you 8. I made you drive on my leg for a
- 28:11long time. And I enjoyed every minute.
- 28:14Oh, thank you very much. T and my dad, sorry you're
- 28:16listening. Sorry T, but I'm sorry Ma.
- 28:20Sorry, ma'am. Because of you.
- 28:22But you know what, I'm going to be honest with you is I'm glad
- 28:24we did that. Well, obviously, because I how
- 28:28to make your way. Hold on.
- 28:30Take the all the ego stuff out of it.
- 28:33I am actually glad that we did that because we got to know each
- 28:36other first. Yeah, yeah.
- 28:39And realized that I realized, you know what?
- 28:42This one I'm actually prepared to put up a horseshit for the
- 28:45rest of my life. But also I think as well, like I
- 28:53had this discussion with a guy before and I think he was a bit
- 28:58more on the kind of sense that a woman should pay her way.
- 29:03OK, this is a friend. I was never with him around like
- 29:05that. I remember saying to him was
- 29:07actually like. Always pay away.
- 29:10Like as in what you like. It depends on what kind of
- 29:13context you're. Dating at the time he was
- 29:15actually struggling to meet somebody OK and he was probably
- 29:18dating so this is. Another change.
- 29:20So in other words, he spent too much money on dates and he was
- 29:22sick. Of it, right.
- 29:23So that's another thing that's happening at the minute and
- 29:25we're like, oh, I'm going three days a week.
- 29:27I'm not going to meet somebody you're talking.
- 29:29A Warner is shot. Yeah, if you're lucky.
- 29:31A Warner, if you're lucky. If you're lucky, yes, you can't
- 29:34even get McDonald's anymore for nearly that right so.
- 29:38What McDonald's are you going to?
- 29:40Abuse you? The ones in Switzerland.
- 29:42In LA, no, we're seriously right.
- 29:45So I said to him, Paul, what you don't realize is is he likes
- 29:49nice looking girls. OK, so with that came her nails,
- 29:53tan and outfit. So horn, she's spending so much
- 29:58money before she's gone on this day.
- 30:01Do men take that into consideration?
- 30:03And I think another thing to point out there is she's making
- 30:05an effort, so she obviously wants something to happen, no?
- 30:09Well, she wants to look good. So like, yeah, but she obviously
- 30:12knows who she's gone on a date with, so she obviously likes the
- 30:15look of the person. And wants to impress him.
- 30:18Like what else would she be doing herself up to the to the
- 30:219th? But even if you're not like even
- 30:24like, do you think this is doing myself up to the 9th?
- 30:27You're just trendy. But like do you know how much
- 30:30hair costs and nails cost and tan cost?
- 30:33I do and alefoots cost so like. I do, actually.
- 30:37Yeah, I saw from you. I know.
- 30:39From from this meme I saw right and I thought this was really
- 30:43good. You know, the way like men call
- 30:44women gold diggers. Yeah.
- 30:48And then it's like, well, actually you're just not my type
- 30:52financially. So men like an actual nice
- 30:55looking woman. So they have a type, right?
- 30:57We we've discussed that Terry likes blondes, right?
- 31:01So I see. My neutral answer there.
- 31:04I just went OK. Is that true?
- 31:06I OK I lived in a bedsit for years.
- 31:12You're being a politician again and you're not answering it.
- 31:15I'm I I'm into blondes, yes. I don't.
- 31:17OK, Brunettes are not my. OK, so preferred, do you like
- 31:21big boobies? Indeed.
- 31:23OK, Pamela Anderson kind of vibes.
- 31:27So did it behind the scenes, apparently.
- 31:29OK, they're happened. Do you like big boobs?
- 31:33OK, so it's OK for you guys to say that, but why isn't that OK
- 31:38for a woman to say? You're actually not financially
- 31:41my type. But I think that's OK.
- 31:44Is it? At least you're letting the blow
- 31:45go off the hook and you can go, well, hold on a minute.
- 31:48Fine. Lovely.
- 31:49See you later. Is that OK to say no?
- 31:52Listen, I wouldn't. I wouldn't know.
- 31:54I'm not saying it's OK. I am not the judge, jury and
- 31:57executioner here. Is that not me?
- 31:59All I'm saying if someone said that to me, you're not.
- 32:02You're not my type because you're not.
- 32:03And if I go, fine, see you later, good luck, You're really
- 32:06here. You released me from the the
- 32:08insinuating pain I'm about to put myself through.
- 32:12Is that not like, totally and morally wrong to say sorry
- 32:17you're not broke ass motherfucker and I can't?
- 32:18Go out with you. Not to me it's not, not.
- 32:22So wrong, no? But I'm just giving you my
- 32:26opinion, maybe it is wrong to other people, I don't know.
- 32:28OK, so now we're probably even going off more track, right?
- 32:31But this is something that I really.
- 32:34Want to at least your lip is moving bar.
- 32:35It's not really, it's hurting me.
- 32:38OK so this is something I really want to know tear and maybe it's
- 32:42wrong. And maybe that can I just point
- 32:44out she called me tear. The feistiness is now thawing
- 32:47out. Yeah, I'm, I'm starting to
- 32:49unwind now because I'm sitting here relaxing.
- 32:51Lovely. OK, so I might get cancelled for
- 32:54this, but I'm going to say it anyway.
- 32:57Why do rich ugly men like on yacht?
- 33:04No, she let me say this. Yeah, go for 30 year olds.
- 33:08Like I'm not being funny, right? Why does she want to go out with
- 33:11this? Well, go on, go on.
- 33:17Sorry Hon, but you're old and you're, you know, whatever.
- 33:19And she's like a hot 30 year old.
- 33:21Like, what does she see in you besides your money, right?
- 33:27Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong.
- 33:29Maybe I'm going to get cancelled for it.
- 33:31But let's just talk stereotypes. I'm sure someone who owns a
- 33:34yacht and is there, like, a billionaire is not going to be
- 33:37listening to this podcast. But if you are, I want to know
- 33:41what? Your choice.
- 33:42Your old season. Yeah.
- 33:43And what the freaking hell do you see in it?
- 33:46Like what? Like mentally?
- 33:48OK, can I? Can I?
- 33:49Can I put my spin on this? My opinion I believe, and this
- 33:55is merely an opinion. OK, I don't care whether I get
- 33:58cancelled in anyway. So in the episode 3 we've a few
- 34:01more to go. Please don't know, we need some
- 34:03new sponsors. No, but this is my opinion.
- 34:06That's not going to be a cancellation thing.
- 34:07OK, not saying that, but I do believe that men who go for that
- 34:13kind of thing are on the same level of emotional maturity as
- 34:19the person they're going for. It could be either that it could
- 34:23be a control issue because they're power, they're the money
- 34:27thing, right? OK, so they want to control and
- 34:30then it's an ego. Where do you want a piece of eye
- 34:32candy on their end? Do you want to look good?
- 34:34Because I was watching a program but.
- 34:36You don't look good. You look good, but they think it
- 34:39makes them look better. So OK, you don't look good to me
- 34:43as a woman, but do you look good to to men?
- 34:48This is what I want to know. Do you think that there's?
- 34:51Three men in this studio, I would say.
- 34:54I would say that the men are probably looking gone.
- 34:56Yep. Yeah.
- 34:57Bye. Tell the truth.
- 34:59You can say I won't fight you. I promise.
- 35:01I think it's a bit cringy to be honest.
- 35:03I'm not going to lie to you. So would you like bro?
- 35:06Uh huh. Look at him like see all this.
- 35:08I would like Hugh Hefner stuff and I think that's cringe.
- 35:12Cringe fest. Is it really?
- 35:14Are you just saying that to me because I'm your wife?
- 35:16Being straight, it's, it's not, it's not for me.
- 35:18Thanks. It's like, what do you talk
- 35:19about when you start on your own?
- 35:21Yeah, it was. No, your cough is not going to
- 35:24get you away with this. Would you?
- 35:26If you saw a hot chick with like a filthy rich, not good looking
- 35:31old man, would you like you as I would?
- 35:35With a filthy rich not like why would I say that?
- 35:38I'd more likely say what the hell and I is she saying in him?
- 35:41What? How is she doing it, Helda?
- 35:44Which is all I'd say. Honesty.
- 35:46Yeah. For all he must, he must have
- 35:49some money. That's all I can say.
- 35:53OK, there's two guys behind the scenes here and I want your
- 35:57honest opinion. You can raise your hands.
- 36:01If you saw a hot woman with a filthy rich old man on a yacht,
- 36:08would you think he is an amazing guy?
- 36:12No hands up. Now.
- 36:14So they're either don't want to like admit this to us or.
- 36:22You have to realize one thing, billionaire men are a different
- 36:30category and class and hang around with different people
- 36:37than we do with different belief systems.
- 36:39So they probably do look across to go, you did good there Jed,
- 36:44you know what I mean? His name is Jed.
- 36:46Jed, we'll just call him Jed for because I'm thinking of oil,
- 36:48man, you know what I'm saying? That's because you're watching
- 36:53Land Man and she's a hottie and he's not a hottie.
- 36:56No, she wasn't thinking about them too.
- 36:58I was thinking about someone else in the program.
- 37:00OK, that has a hot wife. And the young ones are only in
- 37:03their 20s and your man is in his 60s.
- 37:06So I feel this podcast was so up and down and here's so many
- 37:12dynamics, but we want to know how finances work in your house.
- 37:20How do young people day? How do old people day?
- 37:24Do you find that if you are the main earner in your house as a
- 37:28man or a woman, does it affect the other person?
- 37:33My perspective is if a woman is the main breadwinner, that a
- 37:40man's ego is affected by that. So Judy Mac Judgeson over here
- 37:47didn't realize that an older man on his way out to heaven goes
- 37:56for a hot younger woman because they want to feel alive.
- 38:00So I'm over here judging someone who's about to die.
- 38:03I never thought of like that. And a woman wants a man who has
- 38:10his chisel together because she doesn't want to babysit.
- 38:15We don't want to micromanage your finances or your behaviour.
- 38:20We just want somebody to meet us halfway.
- 38:25And leave your thoughts in the comments.
- 38:28And until next episode, we'll be keeping it real.
- 38:31Take it easy.
