- Sue: As I'm recording this, it's a beautiful midday, about 70 degrees light breeze, clear sky, and the woodpeckers are doing their thing. And I'm grateful to be living in a place where I could hear peckery. For me, it's a audio reminder, reminiscent of my student life, learning to play snare drum rudiments. But you didn't think that was where it was going, was it? Did you? confirmation with a woodpecker. I was a percussion minor at a private arts boarding school, junior and high school, and wasn't very experienced about relaxing my wrists and moving them because as an oboist and keyboardist, your wrist gets used in a slightly different way. So you're having to teach it new body memories in order to... be a functional percussionist. It's that subtle adaptation of something that you already know applied to new and your ability to align everything from known to unknown, fit those pieces together and recognize that perhaps the only aspect of what separates you from a functional percussionist and a non-functional percussionist is the fact that you have to physically train your body to remember what it feels to move in that way. It makes for expanding your personal knowledge easier, right? One of the favorite topics of mine is to speak about filling your brain with fun stuff. And in my world, fun stuff includes... expanding knowledge and educating yourself about something that is interesting to you. And thereby you generate passion for that interest and thereby you generate happiness and joy for yourself, which thereby gets automatically shared with humanity and the universe, thereby making the world a better place, in my opinion. A lot of times you discover things about people and their modus operandi by the result of their actions, isn't it so? It's just that understanding that we accept things as truth, for example, that we have learned through our experiences, but not necessarily have stated in writing or even verbally. It's also about our collective acceptance of the cognitive dissonance of just not speaking up about things that we know are false. Nonetheless, we live with cognitive dissonance in our lives. And that creates a natural imbalance by doing that because frankly, you're allowing that to outweigh truth. I'm not about being a truth avenger. I'm just making the comment that just by paying more attention and being aware of your surroundings with your senses, you have a better understanding of yourself and the means by then. to fix it if you feel guided. Particularly when some of those situations that you have to fix are complicated. There are a lot of details and moving parts involved. It's not just a matter of saying, you know, all right, this ends, moving on. You know, life is a plan of which I don't know the termination date, so I expect to be able to make the most of every day as possible. If I'm lucky enough to get to the end of the day and lay my head down to rest, know that that's a beautiful day. and just get down to the simplification of the details of my life by chucking out all of that that is deceit to the best I'm able to do so. And recognize that if I'm unable to chuck it out, to be able to deal with it by making it a positive energy in some way. And take that confirmation from the woodpecker. I in our society, we've been taught to sort of disregard or not trust media outlets and other places and people and... You build up this blind that sometimes obscures other truths, confirmation with the airplane, and you don't realize it because it just sort of gets mixed in with all the other stuff. Real life, how about all of those subscriptions we have? Ever keep a tab on the renewal date or even reading the terms of agreement regarding notifications about getting charged for those subscriptions so you forget about them because you don't think about it to check and then it's out of your wallet and then that's like the karma you brought on yourself. You know, because we just don't want to be so aware of everything in our lives. And that's what the haters and the dark energies are counting on. I'm not going to give them that privilege. You might fool me a couple of times before I learn my lesson, but I'm in it to win it. I'm not sure I'm in a competition for anything, but I'm just making the quick phrase of we're in it to win it with the idea that we're living. that we're gonna continue living. So any of you who've placed a bet on my upcoming demise, you're probably gonna lose that bet. It was a sucker bet. Is that what they call it? When you've been duped and betting on something that you were never gonna win. I I learned the identity of our local Santa Claus yesterday. I saw it with my own eyes. And out of season, he gave me a gift. He's giving me back the space in my house by taking ownership of Gareth's woodworking tool so that he can create his own joy. You know, we're back to filling the brain with fun stuff again. All good things. I'm very grateful for your time listening today.
