Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily pad production.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the team up play show podcast. Previously in
- 0:27Speaker 2: the city of bones.
- 0:33Speaker 3: You think you can hide me away? Keep me separate
- 0:38Speaker 3: from the rest of you? I've got news for you.
- 0:41Speaker 3: You've created me. You've been feeding me. And you can
- 0:46Speaker 3: no longer keep me at bay. Come on in and
- 0:50Speaker 3: know me better.
- 0:53Speaker 2: At this, grasping paper tendrils sprout viciously, out of Jason's chest.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They surround you all and grab.
- 1:04Speaker 1: At you all.
- 1:06Speaker 2: It pulls your bodies and as your bodies naturally resist,
- 1:12Speaker 2: it tears through and pulls your souls, all three of you.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Into the book in Jason's chest.
- 1:20Speaker 1: My soul?
- 1:23Speaker 2: You enter the book That is Jason's heart and soul.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And you find yourselves being pulled. Pulled through space. Paper space.
- 1:33Speaker 2: And I say that as in like paper outer space.
- 1:37Speaker 2: You soar by parchment stars and canvas asteroids. And you
- 1:42Speaker 2: see Jason's worlds. They are the compartments he's made. A
- 1:47Speaker 2: lot of it is normal and healthy. But then you
- 1:49Speaker 2: see four worlds that are colliding within you. They are
- 1:55Speaker 2: smashing into each other, and there is a large one
- 1:58Speaker 2: from which the tendrils come that seems to be devouring
- 2:03Speaker 2: the others. You walk into a swirling portal and head
- 2:08Speaker 2: to the future, Jason Future. You look and you see you,
- 2:13Speaker 2: the paper phantom, in an alley, beating down on a guy. Punching, punching,
- 2:20Speaker 2: fist coming up bloodied and with brain on it. This
- 2:23Speaker 2: phantom in the future you feel kills without a second thought.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Those that need death get it. But there are those
- 2:33Speaker 2: that stand in your way. Dickensian, Rigel, and Quanta drop
- 2:38Speaker 2: from the sky.
- 2:39Speaker 5: The End.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Jason sees outside of himself a potential future where Quanta
- 3:01Speaker 2: and Rigel have to stop the Phantom if he continues
- 3:06Speaker 2: down his current path of wanton destruction and death.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Roll order.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Paper little British boy Quanta cracks her knuckles and says,
- 3:22Speaker 5: We ain't gonna enjoy this, friends.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That makes one of us. One and a half, maybe.
- 3:35Speaker 1: You used to be our mate, you know. I rolled
- 3:37Speaker 1: a three.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I also rolled a three. I rolled a two. Exciting numbers.
- 3:45Speaker 5: We're all like, we're not going to make the first move.
- 3:49Speaker 2: How many EPs do you have in speed, Quanta?
- 3:53Speaker 5: One.
- 3:53Speaker 1: One. Oh, boy. Roll again. It's a roll off.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Seven.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Five.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Four or five seconds from Wylan. We're about four or
- 4:01Speaker 1: five seconds from Wylan.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Four or five seconds from Wylan?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 1: We got three more days till Friday.
- 4:07Speaker 4: What the fuck is this song about?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Jesus Christ.
- 4:12Speaker 1: It's hard to say, but it is delightful to listen to.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Sure. Great song. I'm just glad. That there's not a,
- 4:17Speaker 2: everyone's like, oh, you know, four or five seconds from Wylan.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Are you a fucking idiot?
- 4:21Speaker 4: I'm about four or five seconds from Wylan.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Three more days till Friday. I'd love to see you try.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Three till Friday. Not a mighty, not you, Harry. Not me,
- 4:36Speaker 1: it's my only British thing I know.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Quanta, Rigel, you've been hunting down the paper phantom.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Oh, we got him now, boy-o.
- 4:48Speaker 2: He's an L away from you.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And it's time to take him down. It's gotta be
- 4:54Speaker 2: that way. As the phantom steps out with brains dripping
- 4:58Speaker 2: from his fists.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Quanta, you're first. Oh, you've gone too far now, ain't you, lovey?
- 5:04Speaker 5: I pull out of, rather than a long scarf, I
- 5:09Speaker 5: pull like a baton out of my pocket and thwack
- 5:12Speaker 5: it and it extends like into a longer like cane
- 5:18Speaker 5: that then a paper lightning whip springs out of at
- 5:21Speaker 5: the end.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 5:22Speaker 5: And I'm going to try to whip him around his
- 5:24Speaker 5: bloody fist to stop him from beating up this person.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Attack.
- 5:31Speaker 5: And let's put an amp on there. Power amplifier and pull.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Try to pull him towards Rigel and me.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That's six. All right.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Six damage.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:43Speaker 2: We'll just Rezeal.
- 5:44Speaker 6: Ooh.
- 5:45Speaker 2: All right. Rezeal two. Take four.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And you get pulled to our area.
- 5:51Speaker 2: The whip. wraps around your fist, and you get pulled
- 5:55Speaker 2: by the power of Quanta's whip into their L. Rigel,
- 5:58Speaker 2: it's your turn.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You never stop to think for one second, one second,
- 6:03Speaker 1: that if you started killing, you might not be able
- 6:06Speaker 1: to stop.
- 6:07Speaker 4: As Rigel throws back his tailcoats and starts punching the phantom.
- 6:14Speaker 2: As the phantom gets dragged in, you just start punching. Okay,
- 6:18Speaker 2: rolling with precision with my permanent bonus. That's an eight
- 6:21Speaker 2: coming at you. All right, I will have to defend.
- 6:25Speaker 2: So go in.
- 6:27Speaker 6: All right, that's a five on the defense and one
- 6:31Speaker 6: becomes a zero. So negate five of that.
- 6:34Speaker 2: What'd you say, eight? You take three damage. Paper Phantom,
- 6:39Speaker 2: it's your turn. Just laughing while you're punching.
- 6:46Speaker 1: We're not chums no more.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Just call me Phantom the Ripper.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But wait, is it ripping bad for you? Oh, fuck.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I didn't think about it. Dang it.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Yeah, you should look before you leap, you fucko.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Jason, if you're in there, you got to help this
- 7:07Speaker 4: guy out, Jason.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Just try and hit what you can't see.
- 7:13Speaker 6: And I'm going to explode into a big cloud of
- 7:16Speaker 6: confetti and hide.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Okay, both of you.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Oh, I hate when he does that.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Both of you roll a sense check.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Tricky, tricky. Where are you, phantom?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Roll your sneak check, Jason, with your.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Cloak. Yep.
- 7:32Speaker 6: Eight.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Five. Twenty-one.
- 7:35Speaker 2: The phantom is hidden from both of you. Quanta, it's
- 7:38Speaker 2: your turn.
- 7:39Speaker 1: If you... I start, like, kind of, I'm, like, taking.
- 7:42Speaker 5: soft steps around as I'm speaking and I would like
- 7:47Speaker 5: to use a utility to sense again if that's allowed
- 7:53Speaker 5: like try to find.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Him yeah it's your turn certainly I'll do.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Utility to find him if you give in to everything
- 8:00Speaker 5: you can do rather than what you should do does
- 8:04Speaker 5: that mean I could end up that.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Way join my quanta Get out of my swamp, Rachel.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Roll another sneak as she tries to find you.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Don't have a lot of hope. It's a total of seven.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Gentleman's eight.
- 8:24Speaker 6: That is a natural 20 on the 20 for the
- 8:26Speaker 6: sneak and another eight.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So 28. Wow.
- 8:30Speaker 2: The phantom remains hidden from you.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Where are you? I'm all around you.
- 8:37Speaker 5: Fuck.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I'm inside you. Your head.
- 8:43Speaker 1: All right.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Jason, I was always scared that you weren't brave enough
- 8:50Speaker 4: to face your darkness. But don't worry. We'll burn it
- 8:55Speaker 4: out of you. And I'm going to rev up a
- 8:57Speaker 4: magic blast. Fire is burning in my hands.
- 9:02Speaker 2: You charge up, waiting for the phantom to reveal himself. Phantom,
- 9:06Speaker 2: your turn.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Phantom is wall hidden. I'm just going to take advantage
- 9:08Speaker 6: of this and charge up in the paper realm. Charge
- 9:12Speaker 6: my cloak with my paper.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Even though it's invisible, what are you doing?
- 9:16Speaker 6: So there's like lots of little confettis kind of floating
- 9:20Speaker 6: around this alley, um, And you just start to see
- 9:24Speaker 6: them get, like, denser, like, rolling into, like, little balls,
- 9:28Speaker 6: little spikes of paper kind of floating around.
- 9:30Speaker 2: He could be in any one of them. Hundreds of
- 9:33Speaker 2: little spikes of paper. Quanta, your turn.
- 9:35Speaker 1: He could be in any one of them.
- 9:38Speaker 5: I think Quanta, like, knowing how the Phantom fights and
- 9:44Speaker 5: when he sneaks, he's going to jump out at some point,
- 9:47Speaker 5: is going to steal up. And instead of putting her
- 9:51Speaker 5: senses into finding, like, his energy, put her senses into, like,
- 9:55Speaker 5: every molecule around. So, like, that there's, like, the first, like,
- 9:59Speaker 5: shift in, like, the air. Like, even, like, the friction
- 10:03Speaker 5: of the air can create, like, movement of electrons and protons.
- 10:07Speaker 5: The first, like, sense of shift in that, she'll know, like,
- 10:09Speaker 5: where he's coming from. So I'm going to steal up.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Sounds good.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Rigel.
- 10:13Speaker 4: I'm going to use a utility action to start generating
- 10:16Speaker 4: some flight stars just to brighten up this alley.
- 10:20Speaker 2: With the light, if you sneak again, I think you'll
- 10:23Speaker 2: roll low.
- 10:23Speaker 6: Okay.
- 10:24Speaker 2: From Jameer. If Fragile can maintain that.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but stealing up gives me half my level
- 10:29Speaker 1: for defense.
- 10:30Speaker 2: For resilience.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Or for just resilience.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:33Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Phantom, it's the third phase. Your turn. You reacted, so
- 10:37Speaker 2: you're doing nothing. Phantom remains hidden.
- 10:40Speaker 6: I'll say for flavor, the spikes are going to turn
- 10:42Speaker 6: into lots of paper phantoms around the alley that are
- 10:46Speaker 6: all like false phantoms.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Just laughing. Wait, wait, wait.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Is this round two, though? Because I've done three actions.
- 10:54Speaker 2: This is phase three. I'm not doing anything right now.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I'm just for flavor. I'm flavoring the third phase. I
- 11:00Speaker 2: can't do anything.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Keep your eyes up, Rigel. He's playing tricks on us.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Am I? Yeah, you are. Yeah, I am. Yeah, you are.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Am I? We're back to the top.
- 11:12Speaker 1: New round. Quanta, your turn.
- 11:15Speaker 7: You know, when you have a special little drawer for everyone,
- 11:18Speaker 7: your friends start to think one day that maybe we'll
- 11:21Speaker 7: just get pushed to the back of the junk drawer
- 11:23Speaker 7: and you won't think about us anymore. And I would
- 11:26Speaker 7: like to move Lightning Whip myself to the top of
- 11:30Speaker 7: the building above the alley.
- 11:31Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You are three L's up. Great. Rigel, your turn. Rigel. Sorry,
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm just reading my utility actions because I'm like, what
- 11:40Speaker 1: do I do?
- 11:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Tough when you got a hidden guy.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Yeah, and then if you use another one, you lose
- 11:48Speaker 5: your steal up or your charge up or whatever.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Ryza doesn't give a fuck. I'm going to use my...
- 11:55Speaker 4: I haven't used this one. I'm going to use my... First,
- 11:59Speaker 4: I'll use one of my choose my magic blasts, and
- 12:02Speaker 4: I'm going to do lightning split shot to just blast
- 12:09Speaker 4: a bunch of stuff in this alley trying to hit
- 12:12Speaker 4: the fandom.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Sure.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Fuck it, we ball. Fuck it, we ball.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Okay, so as you try to attack Rigel, you have
- 12:21Speaker 2: to roll a sense check and succeed against his sneak
- 12:26Speaker 2: check for it to work. And I gotta roll a
- 12:29Speaker 2: new one each time, right?
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yes. Wow.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Okay, so I can split it. It sounds like I
- 12:34Speaker 4: can choose. Well, first I need to divide up my shit.
- 12:38Speaker 4: So let me roll my power dice and then decide
- 12:41Speaker 4: how many ways I want to split it.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Got it. So I got 11.
- 12:45Speaker 4: So I'll split 11 four ways. He still has to
- 12:50Speaker 4: make the sense check though. Three threes and a two.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Do I get to roll the sense four times or no?
- 12:58Speaker 4: So you can split it up however you want as
- 13:00Speaker 4: long as you do it evenly. And I think because
- 13:03Speaker 4: each one of them would count as an attack against someone,
- 13:06Speaker 4: I think you would roll every time.
- 13:09Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. All right.
- 13:13Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:13Speaker 1: So I'm going to split up. I'm going to split
- 13:15Speaker 1: up four ways. I'm going to split up four ways.
- 13:18Speaker 4: So four sets checks versus four.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Four sneak checks.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Sneaks.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Wow.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Or do you want one sneak check to hold? I
- 13:25Speaker 2: think one sneak check.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I don't think you have to go four times. All right.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I got a 13. Because I'm rolling low. I got
- 13:33Speaker 2: a two, a two, a two, and a four.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It was a good thinking, buddy.
- 13:43Speaker 4: That's the first time I've shot lightning.
- 13:45Speaker 2: All your lightning spreads around, hits copies of the phantom.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Just can't find him. Paper phantom, it's your turn.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't think we were ever friends.
- 13:55Speaker 6: And I'm going to attack Rigel with my charged up cloak.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You bloody liar.
- 14:02Speaker 6: This with cloak is with precision. Okay, that's good. Plus that.
- 14:07Speaker 6: So that is going to be 14 damage coming your way.
- 14:12Speaker 6: And I did not say this, but I was hoping
- 14:15Speaker 6: to put a power amp.
- 14:16Speaker 2: On it to blind you as well. I want to
- 14:20Speaker 2: cut your eyeballs.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Oh.
- 14:24Speaker 1: No fucks given, governor.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Ouchie.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Rigel's got to defend against something like that. So I
- 14:33Speaker 1: defend seven.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Nice.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And then I reseal.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Divided by two plus the seven.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I total block 10.
- 14:46Speaker 6: That was 14, so that's still four damage.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Four damage to you, Rigel. Four damage gets through.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Which does get through for the blind. Your eyes are cut, Rigel, with...
- 14:57Speaker 2: paper and you are unable to see as they bleed.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Fuck. Fuck. Where's your special guard now?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Quanta, your turn.
- 15:07Speaker 1: What? You say God with an R or God with
- 15:11Speaker 1: an O? God. He's talking about me, God. I don't
- 15:17Speaker 1: know his funny accent. Well, for our part, we were
- 15:21Speaker 1: your friends, but you've proven over and over again that
- 15:24Speaker 1: you're not us.
- 15:26Speaker 5: And I would like to attack with precision with my
- 15:29Speaker 5: lightning whip.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Bring my baton out.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Roll your damage.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Five.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Five damage coming to you, Phantom.
- 15:36Speaker 1: All right.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I'll just reseal.
- 15:38Speaker 5: All right.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Got a four, which turns into two, so three more damage.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Three damage. Rigel, your turn.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You keep choosing yourself. That's not what a hero does.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I was never a hero.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I'm going to try to break condition using my magic.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Which I've never done a break condition before.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Yes, utility action to try to clear the blood and
- 16:06Speaker 2: the cuts from your eyes. What are you doing?
- 16:08Speaker 4: I'm trying to just burn, just with star fire. My
- 16:11Speaker 4: hope is to just open my eyes and they're just
- 16:14Speaker 4: burning star fire. And it's, I got like super saiyan
- 16:20Speaker 4: eyes and they're healed.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Nice.
- 16:23Speaker 1: By a magic.
- 16:25Speaker 4: So I just roll my magic blast, my magic.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Roll a spirit plus your magic, Jameer.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Spirit plus my magic.
- 16:35Speaker 2: And Phantom, you're going to contest this Street smarts plus
- 16:39Speaker 2: your whatever you used to attack him.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Ooh, 13.
- 16:43Speaker 2: 15.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 16:47Speaker 2: You can't quite heal the cuts in your eyes, Rigel.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Paper Phantom, your turn.
- 16:54Speaker 1: It's only going to get worse for you.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Going to attack Rigel again.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Come at me.
- 17:00Speaker 2: More cloaks.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I can take it.
- 17:02Speaker 2: With precision. All right, so that is eight damage.
- 17:07Speaker 1: All right. I razeel. I'm from razeeland. I razeel three.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I rolled a seven. Seven razeels three, right? Yes.
- 17:21Speaker 2: No, seven razeels four.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Then I take a lower number.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah, how much damage do you do?
- 17:27Speaker 1: Sorry. Oh, eight. I take four. Quanta, back up to you.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Of course you go for the person who's the weakest.
- 17:37Speaker 1: We all know it. What the fuck are you two
- 17:41Speaker 1: talking about? We need time out. That's so like you,
- 17:46Speaker 1: just taking the easy route.
- 17:48Speaker 5: Whatever serves you best in the moment, not what serves
- 17:52Speaker 5: the greater good or the city.
- 17:55Speaker 1: And I'm going to attack again, too. I ever agree.
- 18:00Speaker 1: You're so weak. Yeah, shut up. The grown-ups are talking.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Take a break.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I'm taking so much damage. Take a knee. The quant
- 18:10Speaker 1: has always been my arch-nemesis, not you. You're like a sidekick.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Did he say quiet or quarter? I can't fucking tell
- 18:20Speaker 1: what we're saying. Okay, 12. I rolled a 10. That's
- 18:26Speaker 1: my perm bonus.
- 18:28Speaker 2: All right, I got you.
- 18:29Speaker 1: My perm bone. Your perm bone.
- 18:32Speaker 6: Okay, so that is going to be four defended, and
- 18:36Speaker 6: then another two, so six negated off 12, so six damage.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Yes.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Brings me down.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Looking not good for the PPP. What are you down to,
- 18:46Speaker 1: Paper Phantom? One is the lowliest move.
- 18:51Speaker 2: You're down to a single hit point. You fall to
- 18:56Speaker 2: your knees, both Phantom and Jason, back out and viewing
- 19:04Speaker 2: all this, viewing this fight, the ghost of Jason Future
- 19:09Speaker 2: looks at you and speaks. Is this what you want? No,
- 19:17Speaker 2: I can barely understand what they're saying.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Right, you'll just take a break, sweetheart. You're so weak. Oi.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He's right in front of you. You couldn't hit him
- 19:29Speaker 1: if you wanted to with your eyes like that, love.
- 19:32Speaker 6: But also, I don't know, they're the only people I've
- 19:38Speaker 6: really thought of as friends.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Ever.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Down your current path, this is inevitable.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Quanta goes slow motion and Quanta descends the building on
- 19:52Speaker 5: a lightning bolt and raises the whip above Jason's head.
- 19:57Speaker 2: And Rigel does what?
- 20:00Speaker 1: He's right in front of you. You probably can't miss him, actually,
- 20:03Speaker 1: if you just.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Rigel's just blind punching.
- 20:08Speaker 2: And Jason fought well. The future phantom. But you winning
- 20:13Speaker 2: or them winning, do you want either one?
- 20:19Speaker 3: No.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Either way is... It's not a good outcome. What do
- 20:31Speaker 1: I need to do? How do I stop this?
- 20:36Speaker 2: That's for you to find out. The three of you
- 20:39Speaker 2: wake back up in the four-poster bed together.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Of course it's bad. Oh, I'm wearing one, too. Oh, fuck.
- 20:50Speaker 4: My knees, they're bound together by this thing, but my
- 20:53Speaker 4: knee cleavage is incredible.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Wow.
- 20:56Speaker 2: We do look great.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 5: How does Rachel's knees look the best out of either
- 21:02Speaker 5: of our busts, though?
- 21:03Speaker 6: Hmm.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I'm just silently waiting for this. So upset.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I'm not upset. It's a beautiful morning.
- 21:14Speaker 1: You open the window. You there, boy. You see a
- 21:17Speaker 1: small boy. What day is it?
- 21:20Speaker 2: What day is it, the boy says.
- 21:22Speaker 3: No.
- 21:24Speaker 2: You do see a boy getting chased by a group
- 21:27Speaker 2: of larger, scarier boys. What kind of hero are you
- 21:31Speaker 2: going to be, Jason? I unbutton the corset.
- 21:36Speaker 1: You're just button lucky. I'm lacing it.
- 21:42Speaker 6: I'll grab like a fire poker and look at my friends.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Be right back.
- 21:48Speaker 6: I jump out of the window, start shaking the stick
- 21:51Speaker 6: at the boys, make myself look large, like I'm facing
- 21:54Speaker 6: down a wolf.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Hey, get out of here.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Get out of here.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Hey, that's just a boy. He doesn't even know what
- 21:58Speaker 1: day it is.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I shake a stick at them. That's
- 22:04Speaker 1: some funny shit.
- 22:06Speaker 2: And learning how to be a real hero from your father,
- 22:10Speaker 2: who did the same for you, these boys run away.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You are all taken out of the world that is
- 22:17Speaker 2: Jason's hero self. And you now see only the two worlds.
- 22:26Speaker 2: The hero self that is Jason, which has been bolstered
- 22:33Speaker 2: and supported by.
- 22:37Speaker 2: His love for Paige by letting go of his father
- 22:42Speaker 2: and by his friends, by you.
- 22:44Speaker 5: I thought that that small ghost boy said that we
- 22:48Speaker 5: were going to be in the future one, but I
- 22:49Speaker 5: just kind of blacked out after the cheese.
- 22:51Speaker 1: What happened?
- 22:52Speaker 6: Uh, you guys were in the future one. You looked awesome. Uh,
- 22:56Speaker 6: you had cool accents. Oh, it was, it was dope
- 23:00Speaker 6: in a way.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Sorry, we missed it.
- 23:02Speaker 2: It's probably for the best.
- 23:04Speaker 1: But did you, uh, I mean, do what you had
- 23:08Speaker 1: to do in there, right?
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, you guys helped me kick ass.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Like we do. We win these. Put a hand on
- 23:22Speaker 1: his shoulder.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And you all look to see the final world vying
- 23:29Speaker 2: for a spot in Jason's soul.
- 23:33Speaker 1: What kind of fucked up story is this going to be? Oh, boy.
- 23:38Speaker 6: I hope it's not a musical. I read some of
- 23:41Speaker 6: the songbooks, and that's the scariest thing I can imagine.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Because you can't remember a single one. Yeah, I don't know.
- 23:51Speaker 2: There's one about the French Revolution, and there's one where
- 23:54Speaker 2: they go into the woods a bunch. I don't remember.
- 23:59Speaker 2: You hear a choir from the world.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Look at her. She's wicked. I'm kidding. The only musical
- 24:09Speaker 1: I know is Wizard of Oz.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Do you think the halal homies will be
- 24:14Speaker 2: cold if we get back? That would be the truest tragedy.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I hope that we're just kind of frozen in time.
- 24:20Speaker 1: A single tear goes down Jameela's cheek.
- 24:25Speaker 5: I delicately wipe it with my thumb. We can order
- 24:28Speaker 5: more halal, homies. You're so rich.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you tip that guy like a 20. It felt
- 24:35Speaker 2: real good. This last world that is the compartment that
- 24:41Speaker 2: Jason has fed the most. Anytime you've dealt out unnecessary
- 24:46Speaker 2: pain or even worse, death, you've hidden it away here.
- 24:53Speaker 2: And it now unfolds. You're not going to this world.
- 24:59Speaker 2: It's coming to you.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 25:02Speaker 2: It unfolds into an enormous version of the original paper phantom.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Spanning stories if you were in a city.
- 25:36Speaker 1: It is immense.
- 25:38Speaker 2: It walks to you, thundering footsteps through the paper cosmos.
- 25:44Speaker 2: So you come to me at last, Jason.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Uh, yep.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Hi.
- 25:53Speaker 1: We're here with you, buddy.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 1: What's up? You know you're nothing without me. Well, that's, um,
- 26:07Speaker 1: is that, that's not right, right? No, of course not.
- 26:10Speaker 1: That's not true. Hey, that's not true.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Is that so?
- 26:14Speaker 1: Where would you be without me? He does have a point.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I would be dead.
- 26:22Speaker 1: That's right.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Let me take the wheel.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Let me take it forever. No, no, you'd be dead
- 26:27Speaker 1: without the book, but maybe not without him. Remember, remember.
- 26:33Speaker 4: Jason, that right guy's dead. This is who you're choosing
- 26:41Speaker 4: to be. So you're just, you're me.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Whispy paper outlines of a fanged mouth poke out of
- 26:54Speaker 2: the hood. It's eating you, Jason, sucking out your life.
- 26:59Speaker 2: You made it. What are you and your friends going
- 27:04Speaker 2: to do about it?
- 27:04Speaker 1: We're going to kick your ass. Let's do it.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Hell yeah. The three of you take a moment here
- 27:14Speaker 5: to summon to yourself the power of the paper around you.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yeah, good yells. What is your.
- 27:36Speaker 1: These are great power-up noises.
- 27:38Speaker 2: What do paper, like, epic mech paper versions of yourself
- 27:43Speaker 2: look like in this moment?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Rigel's going full Starro.
- 27:48Speaker 4: I just, like, go starfish as I power up, and
- 27:52Speaker 4: then paper folds around me, making.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Me a giant.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Not even seven-pointed for this, just a giant five-pointed childish-looking
- 28:02Speaker 4: star that's blue.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Paper Phantom, we'll just go big.
- 28:07Speaker 6: We'll go paper fedora and trench coat, like noir but
- 28:14Speaker 6: giant and huge and, I don't know, big.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Like missile launchers, missile launchers on my shoulders.
- 28:25Speaker 5: A bunch of sheets of paper, um, fly on, like
- 28:29Speaker 5: creating like, like scales over quanta. Um, until, yeah, also,
- 28:34Speaker 5: also like, uh, ever wing style, like bigger, bigger suit
- 28:38Speaker 5: around her. But all the sheets are constantly like rubbing
- 28:43Speaker 5: against each other, creating friction. And so then there's just, like,
- 28:46Speaker 5: zaps of electricity around. She kind of looks like, yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 5: just like an Everwing kind of style, like robot suit,
- 28:52Speaker 5: but with all those overlapping pieces of paper.
- 28:54Speaker 1: There's electricity arcing through it.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Jason will also be riding a giant paper cat.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Great.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Let's roll order. As you face Paper Phantom World.
- 29:06Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Not too shabby on the ready there.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Ooh. Very shabby on the ready.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I got a short top one.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Oof.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I got a six. Nine. How many EPs do you
- 29:22Speaker 1: have in speed, Jameer? In speed, one.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Okay, Jameer, I need you.
- 29:28Speaker 1: To roll again. It's a roll off. Six again.
- 29:31Speaker 2: What'd you get, Steph?
- 29:33Speaker 5: One.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Nine.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Nine.
- 29:35Speaker 1: You got a loop top one.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Yeah, loop top one.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Loop top one. I like it.
- 29:40Speaker 4: It.
- 29:40Speaker 1: The king of sevens, truly.
- 29:43Speaker 2: The three of you do look larger than you would normally,
- 29:48Speaker 2: but you do not come quite to the immensity of
- 29:52Speaker 2: the paper phantom world that you now look upon.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Jason, you have a single hit point left. Oh, great. Oh,
- 29:59Speaker 2: that carries over. Lovely.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Fun. Yikes.
- 30:03Speaker 2: In that case, I will heal.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:06Speaker 2: This is the beast that has been eating away at you,
- 30:10Speaker 2: taking control of you when not wanted, and you heal up?
- 30:15Speaker 6: To me, my papers. Bunch of paper from the paper
- 30:18Speaker 6: dimension just starts patching holes.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Oh, fuck.
- 30:21Speaker 6: Didn't realize. So beat up. Oh, and I can use
- 30:25Speaker 6: all of that. Can't I?
- 30:27Speaker 2: Like a blink. You guys are four L's away from
- 30:30Speaker 2: this thing.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:31Speaker 2: It is the paper phantom world's turn. It raises its arms.
- 30:36Speaker 2: An enormous cloak floats behind it and powered by the
- 30:40Speaker 2: paper cosmos slowly flows towards you. Gets right within y'all's L. Rigel,
- 30:50Speaker 2: your turn.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Star Rigel is just going to start spinning around, and
- 30:55Speaker 4: then I'm going to shoot from the eye, which is
- 30:58Speaker 4: just Rigel, a magic blast.
- 31:03Speaker 8: Awesome.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Roll your damage.
- 31:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 31:05Speaker 4: And I am rolling with precision. Okay, that's a five.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Nice. It's just going to rezeal against you.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Test the waters here.
- 31:18Speaker 2: It rolls a four, so it gets two. You do
- 31:20Speaker 2: three damage.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Nice. And my HP's back from D'Kenzie and Raja, right?
- 31:25Speaker 1: That's all.
- 31:25Speaker 3: No.
- 31:27Speaker 1: No?
- 31:28Speaker 2: No, everybody, anything you guys lost from D'Kenzie in time
- 31:31Speaker 2: is still lost.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Oh, shit. Why are you looking so hurt, guys? Oh, dang.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I literally don't recall.
- 31:38Speaker 2: There's no way to know.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Your eyes kind of look like you got paper cut
- 31:43Speaker 1: or something.
- 31:44Speaker 2: That could have been anyone.
- 31:47Speaker 1: We are surrounded by it.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Paper Phantom World's second turn. It raises two enormous paper.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Fists that become.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Small planets on their own and slams them down on
- 32:00Speaker 2: all three of you with an explosion attack. This damage
- 32:07Speaker 2: is coming at all of you. It's going to spend
- 32:11Speaker 2: the two EPs.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 32:14Speaker 6: Ooh.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Explosion.
- 32:15Speaker 2: To do an explosion. Eight damage coming to all three
- 32:18Speaker 2: of you.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I'm going to defend.
- 32:23Speaker 5: I will also defend with my reflexes. Try to get
- 32:28Speaker 5: out of the way. Defend for two.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I defend for seven and rezeal for two, so I
- 32:33Speaker 1: take nothing.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Nice.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Nice. Rezeal for two, so I take four.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Defend for two, rezeal for two. Let's take one. Defend
- 32:41Speaker 2: for two, rezeal for two. Yeah, so four. Or sorry,
- 32:43Speaker 2: I take two.
- 32:44Speaker 1: No, the total was eight. Total was eight. Oh, the
- 32:46Speaker 1: total was eight. Take four, sorry. You're good.
- 32:49Speaker 2: You know what?
- 32:49Speaker 1: Why don't we all take four?
- 32:50Speaker 2: Let's take a quick four. Take a lap.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Quanta, your turn. You just get smashed down with two
- 32:57Speaker 1: small paper planets. Paper should not hurt so bad, but
- 33:02Speaker 1: I should know better.
- 33:03Speaker 5: I'm going to move with my lightning whip.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Above the phantom.
- 33:12Speaker 2: How far?
- 33:13Speaker 5: I can move 10. So as long as I'm within
- 33:16Speaker 5: five still. But I want to get as far like
- 33:18Speaker 5: five above Phantom Planet's.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Head as I can.
- 33:22Speaker 1: He's three L's tall.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Great. So I get five above him. And as I do,
- 33:26Speaker 5: I turn into lightning and zip out of my paper mech.
- 33:29Speaker 5: And then all the paper kind of like hops after me.
- 33:32Speaker 5: You know like that old screensaver with like the block
- 33:35Speaker 5: that had like the shadows? Oh, yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:38Speaker 1: That would hop around it on the old computers. That's
- 33:41Speaker 1: what I'm imagining. The paper just like.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Following me up as I strike up there.
- 33:45Speaker 6: Like the end of Solitaire? Like when you win old
- 33:47Speaker 6: school Solitaire? The trail, ghost trail?
- 33:50Speaker 1: Yes.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yep.
- 33:51Speaker 1: The paper trails me.
- 33:53Speaker 5: And then.
- 33:54Speaker 1: paper trail. I'm leaving a paper trail. Oh, that's so good.
- 33:57Speaker 1: How the fuck have I not come up with that?
- 33:59Speaker 1: God damn it. I quit.
- 34:01Speaker 4: That is crazy. We're still finding new paper references.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Back to the top.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Paper Phantom, your turn.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Round two. Alright. We're in phase two.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Phase two. Um, two.
- 34:13Speaker 6: We're gonna attack the paper. Gonna do a big cat slash.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Meow. Meow.
- 34:23Speaker 2: All right, so that is seven damage. Nice. Coming to
- 34:27Speaker 2: the paper world. They're just going to Rezeal. Rezeal for four,
- 34:31Speaker 2: so you do three more damage.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Meow.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Cat slashes into the paper. It is the paper phantom
- 34:39Speaker 2: world's first turn. They see you shoot up, Quanta. They
- 34:43Speaker 2: don't like you being up there. They are going to
- 34:46Speaker 2: put their hands up.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Nope.
- 34:48Speaker 2: And you see the paper around them in the world
- 34:51Speaker 2: you're in from a star, from an asteroid. Reach towards
- 34:55Speaker 2: you to try to pull you back down.
- 34:57Speaker 5: No.
- 34:57Speaker 2: They want to get you in the same spot you were.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I know you want to smash us.
- 35:02Speaker 2: You can roll a ready check or a might check
- 35:04Speaker 2: to try to get out of this with your reflexes.
- 35:07Speaker 1: If you'd like. Yes, please. Ready and reflexes.
- 35:10Speaker 2: They're using the power control of the paper realm.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 35:15Speaker 2: And rolling might plus that.
- 35:17Speaker 1: No, not my paper trail. Okay, not bad. Eleven. I
- 35:20Speaker 1: rolled a nine.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Did you roll ready? I rolled, yeah, ready plus reflexes,
- 35:27Speaker 1: lightning reflexes.
- 35:28Speaker 2: So how do you dodge this as it comes at you?
- 35:30Speaker 5: I zip around, turning to lightning again, just like, whoop, whoop, whoop,
- 35:34Speaker 5: can't catch me. And the paper trail is like, zipping
- 35:38Speaker 5: around after me.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Rigel, your turn.
- 35:40Speaker 1: All right. So he's still three L's away from me,
- 35:43Speaker 1: you said? Is that what he started? All right.
- 35:45Speaker 2: That's where he started. He's walked right into your L. Oh,
- 35:48Speaker 2: he's right in my L.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Shit. You guys are all here, but Quanta is up.
- 35:53Speaker 4: I'm going to use a utility action then to charge
- 35:56Speaker 4: up my megastar humming with magic. Awesome.
- 36:01Speaker 2: The paper phantom world gathers two boulders of paper on
- 36:08Speaker 2: either side of the phantom and Rigel. moves their hands
- 36:11Speaker 2: together in a swift motion to clap almost, and the
- 36:16Speaker 2: two boulders are going to smash you guys. Another attack
- 36:20Speaker 2: from Paper Phantom World.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Watch out!
- 36:23Speaker 2: Burn those EPs, you dumb bitch.
- 36:26Speaker 5: In case you don't see those giant planet-sized hands, watch out!
- 36:30Speaker 1: What? We're so in space. Sound doesn't travel good. Ooh,
- 36:37Speaker 1: I rolled so bad. Two. Damage coming to you guys. Oh, shit.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I reseal.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I reseal for nothing, so I'll take all two. Thank you.
- 36:47Speaker 1: I reseal for two, so I take nothing.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Nice.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Paper boulder.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Ow! My legs! I mean, Jason, who are you? Quanta,
- 36:58Speaker 1: it's your turn. I will reach out to the paper stars.
- 37:04Speaker 5: I can sense and start drawing on the power of
- 37:07Speaker 5: the friction of this paper universe and charge up.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Sounds good. Paper Phantom, back up to you.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I reacted. You reacted.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Nothing you can do. Why you gotta be like this?
- 37:18Speaker 1: Why you gotta be? You make me like this.
- 37:22Speaker 6: You suck. You're not being cool. This isn't what I wanted.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Then do something about it.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Oh, that's deep. That's deep.
- 37:31Speaker 2: It's their turn.
- 37:32Speaker 1: This can be some good points on occasion.
- 37:36Speaker 2: They are going to use their utility to charge up
- 37:41Speaker 2: as well, forming above them a spike to pierce Jason,
- 37:49Speaker 2: the phantom that is in their way of taking over.
- 37:52Speaker 1: What's out again? I see it this time. I don't
- 37:55Speaker 1: think there's anything I can do about it, though. Missiles.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Can I use missiles?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Rigel, you're up.
- 38:01Speaker 1: All right.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Rigel has charged up. We're in the same L.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Rigel is going to shuriken style punch with one of
- 38:11Speaker 4: my arms. Spin around to try to hit this thing
- 38:15Speaker 4: with a charged up pointy star arm.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yes. Roll your damage. All right.
- 38:22Speaker 4: I'm going to use my second thing to pick my
- 38:27Speaker 4: To pick my magic blast, charge up. So I'm going
- 38:29Speaker 4: to do starfire and then my strength. So I roll
- 38:35Speaker 4: my strength with precision. Thank goodness. For being fire versus paper.
- 38:42Speaker 4: I am weak to fire.
- 38:44Speaker 1: And then I get my permanent bonus. And then the
- 38:49Speaker 1: charge up. Not great on the charge up. Still for
- 38:52Speaker 1: a total of nine damage altogether. And you're rolling fire? Yes.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Yeah, roll high on whichever die you're rolling for fire.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Bing bong.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Ooh, so that D10, which I rolled a 2 on.
- 39:04Speaker 4: Paper fire, but still. And I rolled a 2 on
- 39:09Speaker 4: the D12, so I still get 9.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Nice.
- 39:14Speaker 2: 9 damage. 9. Ooh, they're going to react to that.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Hey. That's huge. That's huge.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Huge, huge, huge.
- 39:22Speaker 1: That's helpful.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Saves Jason's life probably right now.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Yep.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I got five HPs. Five Harry.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Potters. Yep.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I got five Harry Potters.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Why is it you should probably shave that?
- 39:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I mean, it's up to you. It's your choice. Why
- 39:35Speaker 1: do I? Not Hermione. We're having a British accent.
- 39:42Speaker 2: The fire of your blast comes forth towards the Phantom.
- 39:46Speaker 2: He grabs some paper energy behind him and creates a
- 39:49Speaker 2: huge tidal wave of paper water that floods over it,
- 39:54Speaker 2: trying to block this, defending with control of the paper realm.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Let's see what they roll. Six on the defense, and
- 40:04Speaker 2: then their resilience. Rolled four on their resilience. They don't
- 40:08Speaker 2: take any damage, but you burned their reaction.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Nice. Quanta, your turn. I used my reaction.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Okay, back up to the top. This is round two.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Everything resets. Paper Phantom, it's your turn.
- 40:19Speaker 6: If I'm at the top of the queue and Quanta's
- 40:22Speaker 6: at the bottom, we're next to each other.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:26Speaker 6: I don't think... I think Rigel is separated by enemy turns.
- 40:29Speaker 2: He is. So we could team up.
- 40:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Shall we?
- 40:32Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you think you... I would have had to, right?
- 40:36Speaker 1: Because now I have to wait.
- 40:39Speaker 1: After all these turns. Oh, I see what you're saying.
- 40:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Because I just used my reaction. So on the next turn?
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Heard. Let's do it then. Well, yeah, you would have.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Okay. Just don't die before then. I'm working on it. Oh, fuck.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I'm good at one thing. Bye.
- 41:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm going to vanish into any of the infinite
- 41:04Speaker 6: paper places to hide.
- 41:06Speaker 2: And if you hide, they won't be able to defend
- 41:08Speaker 2: against that. this big attack coming. So that's, that's the
- 41:11Speaker 2: move for sure. Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Gotta remember to hide guys.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Paper Phantom world is still going to reach up, grab
- 41:21Speaker 2: this spike. And shove it down at Rigel.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Watch out. Not wasting time. What? Goodbye. Seven damage coming.
- 41:30Speaker 2: To you, Rigel.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I'm not rolling good, y'all. It's a new round. Oh,
- 41:35Speaker 1: but I just used Reaction. Yes, just in case. I
- 41:39Speaker 1: get to roll with Precision.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Eight damage.
- 41:41Speaker 1: So better. Just in case. Okay. And then I get
- 41:46Speaker 1: to Rezeal.
- 41:47Speaker 6: And it was a 16 on the sneak check, by
- 41:49Speaker 6: the way.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I block a nine. Nice.
- 41:54Speaker 2: How do you defend this giant spike?
- 41:58Speaker 4: As the spike's coming, three of my massive star arms close,
- 42:03Speaker 4: keeping it from touching the Rigel center of the star.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Rigel, your turn. Oh, shit. It's me.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 1: We win these guys. Yep.
- 42:15Speaker 4: And I'm going to, with my other two star arms,
- 42:17Speaker 4: try to punch him. With precision, that is five damage
- 42:25Speaker 4: coming to him. Nice.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Just going to reseal that. Rolls a one, which turns
- 42:31Speaker 2: into zero. All five damage.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Big from Rigel.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Very good. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.
- 42:39Speaker 2: He doesn't like not seeing you. He's going to use
- 42:41Speaker 2: a utility action to try to find you.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Oh, come on, sneaky friend.
- 42:45Speaker 2: He is going to use his control of the paper realm,
- 42:49Speaker 2: being able to feel everything around here, plus a sense check,
- 42:54Speaker 2: which is a D6 and a D8. You win these.
- 42:58Speaker 2: I rolled a nine.
- 42:59Speaker 1: That's good.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Nine. Nine.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Child's play.
- 43:04Speaker 1: 17. Hey. Oh, that's nuts. Where are you? You hide
- 43:09Speaker 1: from me like you hide from everything. No, I don't.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Shut up. Who said that? No one. Quanta, your turn.
- 43:20Speaker 1: All right. Because everything is paper, even the electricity. That's true.
- 43:27Speaker 5: I think you should be in and come out of
- 43:31Speaker 5: my lightning whip.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Oh, nice. Because the lightning is paper. But if you
- 43:36Speaker 1: have another idea.
- 43:37Speaker 2: No, I love that.
- 43:38Speaker 6: Yeah, you just see my face pop up on your palm,
- 43:40Speaker 6: be like, I am your tool.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Okay, we'll unpack that part later, maybe.
- 43:47Speaker 5: I swing my lightning whip around my head and crash
- 43:52Speaker 5: it down at Paper Phantom World, sending Jason down there.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm like wiggling my arms. It's lightning. Yeah. Jason,
- 44:02Speaker 2: as you streak towards paper phantom world, do you make
- 44:06Speaker 2: yourself anything other than lightning? Like any kind of paper
- 44:09Speaker 2: form here?
- 44:10Speaker 6: Let's go for, we're doing some book stuff. We've been
- 44:13Speaker 6: in some fantasy here. We'll go for paper lightning dragon.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Seems rad.
- 44:21Speaker 5: Awesome.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Cool.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Dragon of paper forms out of the lightning from quanta.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Trying to devour this paper phantom world. I love that.
- 44:31Speaker 1: I'm going to give you guys a plus three. Quantas
- 44:34Speaker 1: charged up. Highest we've got. Charged up and precision.
- 44:37Speaker 2: And I'm in. And you're hidden, so no defending. Roll
- 44:41Speaker 2: your damage, y'all.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Math, math. Thirteen. Plus eight. Plus the three from me. Twenty-four. 24.
- 44:53Speaker 6: Is that right?
- 44:56Speaker 1: 16 plus 8.
- 44:56Speaker 6: 24.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 6: 24.
- 44:58Speaker 2: They're only going to get to Rezeal. They roll 8,
- 45:00Speaker 2: which becomes 4. So how much damage is that? Sorry,
- 45:03Speaker 2: I lost count.
- 45:04Speaker 1: 20. 20. 20 total is what they take.
- 45:06Speaker 2: 20 damage in a singular hit from Quanta and the
- 45:10Speaker 2: Paper Dragon.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Kaboom. And then we energy for teaming up, right, too.
- 45:18Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 45:19Speaker 5: Phew.
- 45:20Speaker 1: We win these. Pass out. No. A beautiful dragon friend.
- 45:25Speaker 2: The paper phantom world falls to a single knee, looking up,
- 45:32Speaker 2: looking at you now, Jason, a beautiful paper dragon in
- 45:35Speaker 2: front of him.
- 45:37Speaker 3: No.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Mercy.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Leave me alive.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Leave me in here. I'll hide away. Hmm.
- 45:53Speaker 2: It's quite a pickle here, guys.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Jason?
- 45:56Speaker 6: Uh-huh?
- 45:58Speaker 2: You'll need me. You'll need me in times of doubt,
- 46:02Speaker 2: in times of hardship.
- 46:04Speaker 1: You don't need him. He needs you, don't you see that?
- 46:09Speaker 1: He's literally begging you right now, man. Quanta's waving her arms.
- 46:14Speaker 1: From far, far away, because you guys can't hear her.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 46:18Speaker 1: She's gesturing as a giant star. Don't do it. I
- 46:22Speaker 1: don't know.
- 46:23Speaker 2: It doesn't feel very heroic to kill him, but.
- 46:32Speaker 2: That's the paper phantom world's turn. Putting some doubt in
- 46:37Speaker 2: the real paper phantom's mind.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Strong turn. Rigel, you're up.
- 46:44Speaker 4: Rigel takes a breath. The paper mech star around him,
- 46:49Speaker 4: he lets dissipate. The paper floating. And he says, it's
- 46:55Speaker 4: your choice, buddy.
- 46:57Speaker 1: But I know that guy over there.
- 47:00Speaker 2: He's not a hero. You are.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Always have been.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Hmm.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Are you taking any action, Jameer? I guess if you
- 47:18Speaker 1: could put an action to that.
- 47:22Speaker 2: You don't have to. You can just talk. But I'm
- 47:24Speaker 2: just wondering, you'd be basically passing your mechanical turn.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 47:29Speaker 4: I'm at peace passing my mechanical turn.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 47:33Speaker 2: It's the Paper Phantom World's second turn. He smashes up
- 47:39Speaker 2: a claw that becomes a claw as... He, from his
- 47:43Speaker 2: kneeling form, slashing the paper dragon, trying to take you out.
- 47:48Speaker 1: He still seems cool. Jason!
- 47:51Speaker 2: This is your weakness.
- 47:52Speaker 4: This is why you need me.
- 47:54Speaker 2: I'm not allowed to burn an EP to do a
- 47:56Speaker 2: second reaction, am I?
- 47:58Speaker 1: That's not a thing. That is not a thing. Wish
- 48:01Speaker 1: it was.
- 48:01Speaker 2: 10 damage coming to you.
- 48:03Speaker 6: Ooh, I gotta react, because I only got five HP left.
- 48:09Speaker 1: You better react good, brother.
- 48:11Speaker 6: All right, so that's five negated there from the defense.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Nice.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Ooh, three for resilience, so I only take two.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I'm alive! Fuck you. Fuck you, guy. Yeah, fuck you.
- 48:27Speaker 2: The dragon. I go flying out of the paper dragon. Quanta,
- 48:32Speaker 2: you're up. I.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Ooh. I gotta be closer to use my support, right?
- 48:38Speaker 1: You have to be within range.
- 48:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I will turn back into a lightning bolt. Plasma. My
- 48:45Speaker 1: paper trail and come back down. A movement. Yes, I
- 48:49Speaker 1: will move. By the boys, but an L away.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Sounds good. Paper Phantom, your turn.
- 48:54Speaker 1: All right.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Back up to the top. I believe this is round...
- 48:57Speaker 2: Or phase... Two? I think so.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I think phase three. I think it's phase three. Oh,
- 49:01Speaker 1: is it phase three? Oh, because I didn't put the T.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Yep. Well, then I've reacted. Sorry, I just offended.
- 49:06Speaker 6: I guess I'll, as I'm like flying backwards, I'll try
- 49:10Speaker 6: and like stall myself out with my cloak. Look down
- 49:13Speaker 6: at this giant monster.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I pity you. I don't want to kill you.
- 49:23Speaker 2: You're sad. You think inaction is strength.
- 49:31Speaker 6: You're just lashing out because you're hurt. I know because
- 49:35Speaker 6: you're me. Can't lie to me.
- 49:41Speaker 2: It's written all over your face. Give in to your.
- 49:43Speaker 1: True power, then. Embrace me!
- 49:47Speaker 2: And he is going to form an enormous paper sword,
- 49:51Speaker 2: a paper phantom classic, and slash you, Jason.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Wait, do I get a turn or no?
- 49:58Speaker 2: This is their first turn. Four damage coming to you, Jason.
- 50:01Speaker 2: It's Brazil. That's two. You said four?
- 50:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 50:06Speaker 2: So I take two damage.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Which brings me down to one.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Back to one.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Back to one. Now it's your turn, Rigel. But I
- 50:14Speaker 2: think you reacted, yeah?
- 50:16Speaker 1: I did, but I passed my round two.
- 50:19Speaker 4: I don't think that matters.
- 50:26Speaker 1: I didn't do shit. And I get three actions per round, right?
- 50:30Speaker 2: That's true. And I didn't do shit phase two That's
- 50:34Speaker 2: super true That's not how the rules work But I'll
- 50:38Speaker 2: let you have an action here.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Other GDs don't do.
- 50:43Speaker 5: That Do as he says Not as he does I
- 50:47Speaker 5: am going to Utility action Say Jason.
- 50:55Speaker 1: You're the star. Oh, yeah.
- 50:58Speaker 4: I'm going to create cover and send my star mech
- 51:03Speaker 4: around Jason.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 51:07Speaker 2: You create cover around the L that Jason is in
- 51:10Speaker 2: with his giant star mech. Go ahead and roll your strength,
- 51:15Speaker 2: a might check, plus the power you're using. Probably flight stars.
- 51:20Speaker 1: 16. Ooh.
- 51:22Speaker 2: 16 HP barrier around you, phantom.
- 51:27Speaker 1: No, no, no!
- 51:29Speaker 2: The paper phantom's second turn, they're going to burn more
- 51:32Speaker 2: energy just to strike down at these stars. I rolled
- 51:35Speaker 2: a one, which they get plus two, so that's three.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Only three damage against this paper star that Rigel has
- 51:43Speaker 2: put in front of you.
- 51:44Speaker 1: No, no, no! You hide behind your friends. You take
- 51:48Speaker 1: them as strengths as well. I know it. Quanta, your turn.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I say, yeah, Jason, you are the star.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Control electricity to heal him for four more.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Okay. Nice.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Thanks, guys. Sorry I cut your eyeballs, Rigel.
- 52:08Speaker 1: What?
- 52:08Speaker 2: Don't worry about it.
- 52:09Speaker 1: When did that happen? Don't worry about it. When did
- 52:11Speaker 1: that happen? Wait a second. Wait a fucking minute.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Back to a new round. Paper Phantom, your turn. Empowered
- 52:23Speaker 2: and protected you have been by your friends. What do
- 52:26Speaker 2: you do?
- 52:27Speaker 6: I think mechanically we have to defeat this guy. So
- 52:30Speaker 6: I am going to attack, but specifically I am attacking
- 52:34Speaker 6: with my paper cloak and the branched power become one
- 52:38Speaker 6: with paper. I want to attack him by absorbing him.
- 52:43Speaker 6: That's what I'm going for.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 52:46Speaker 2: So let's see. That's going to be nine damage. Paper
- 52:54Speaker 2: Phantom World has five hit points left.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Zeal or defend. They're going to try to defend.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Yeah, try it, bitch. What does your attack look like, Phantom?
- 53:05Speaker 6: I think my cloak swirls around, makes my hand really big,
- 53:09Speaker 6: and I just put my hand on his face, and
- 53:13Speaker 6: he just starts getting sucked into the hand like pieces
- 53:17Speaker 6: of him are ripping off and becoming me.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Wow.
- 53:20Speaker 2: He tries to attach himself to the world around you.
- 53:23Speaker 2: To solidify himself as a part of you in this
- 53:27Speaker 2: paper space. Other parts of him linking to asteroids and
- 53:32Speaker 2: other planets, trying to reach out to anything to stay.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Not the cake.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Trying to reach out to the cake planet. Anything to
- 53:42Speaker 2: stay isolated. So they're going to defend with their control
- 53:45Speaker 2: of the paper realm.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I rolled an eight.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Defend for eight. They succeed in... staying planted into who
- 53:56Speaker 2: you are. Going to Rezeal. Rezealed for three.
- 54:03Speaker 1: So.
- 54:04Speaker 2: No damage?
- 54:04Speaker 1: No damage.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Let's shove off this attack. Shit. And it's their turn.
- 54:10Speaker 2: We want the same thing. Just.
- 54:13Speaker 6: I can't cut you out or compartmentalize you or put
- 54:17Speaker 6: you away. When we're angry, we gotta be angry. And
- 54:21Speaker 6: that's fine.
- 54:22Speaker 2: With that, They turn their fist into a giant hammer
- 54:26Speaker 2: and start smashing against Rigel's stars more.
- 54:29Speaker 4: Then let me live!
- 54:35Speaker 2: Rolling damage against Rigel's star formation.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Eleven. Just a few stars left. Two. Two stars left.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Just a couple stars left. Rigel, your turn. All right.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Eat it. I'm going to shoot a magic blast at him.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Roll your damage. Just trying to magic blast. Maybe burn
- 55:03Speaker 1: a reaction.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Eight.
- 55:07Speaker 5: Eight.
- 55:07Speaker 2: They are going to react. Rolled a two on their defense.
- 55:12Speaker 2: A one on their resilience. That's six damage?
- 55:17Speaker 1: You said two and then one, so five damage. No, no, no.
- 55:20Speaker 2: The one turns into a zero from their resilience.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Oh, oh, oh, so yes.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Six damage. Jameer, you're going to kill this thing.
- 55:30Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 55:31Speaker 2: How do you do it?
- 55:32Speaker 1: Jason, you're the star. Just kidding. You're the star. Fuck it,
- 55:37Speaker 1: we ball.
- 55:41Speaker 4: Jameer sees his friend battling his demons. His paper all
- 55:50Speaker 4: around him. Says, we don't win these things alone, buddy.
- 55:57Speaker 4: You got help.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Shoots my magical beam of light. And I.
- 56:07Speaker 4: Pierce through this monster that Jason's trying to put behind him.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Huh.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Well, this will be interesting to unpack in therapy.
- 56:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Jason, the creature you've created that is the phantom that
- 56:27Speaker 2: is sometimes taken over you now burns in front of
- 56:31Speaker 2: your very eyes, a magical blast from your friend. What
- 56:36Speaker 2: do you say to them as they disappear?
- 56:40Speaker 6: I'm sorry that it had to be like this. We're
- 56:47Speaker 6: not different. In fact, we're the same. so it's not
- 56:55Speaker 6: the best part of me but it is a part
- 56:58Speaker 6: of me.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Goodbye most of that compartment fizzles away in Rigel's magic
- 57:11Speaker 2: but you reach out and you save some of it
- 57:16Speaker 2: and you push it into the hero world that remains
- 57:21Speaker 2: what part do you save I think I like the
- 57:26Speaker 2: idea not of being afraid, but of using fear as
- 57:30Speaker 2: a tool. Hide in the shadows.
- 57:33Speaker 6: And scare those who would do wrong to others before
- 57:37Speaker 6: hurting them.
- 57:38Speaker 2: And you all look and see the world that is
- 57:42Speaker 2: the hero left after overcoming all the others that were
- 57:50Speaker 2: vying for that space.
- 58:03Speaker 5: I think I might understand a little bit better now
- 58:09Speaker 5: that we've been here. That a part of you is
- 58:14Speaker 5: just trying to keep you safe. Trying to keep us, Paige, Arthur, safe.
- 58:24Speaker 6: When bad things happened, I didn't process it and it
- 58:30Speaker 6: made it bigger and worse. So even though I'm not
- 58:35Speaker 6: very good at it, I am going to try and
- 58:39Speaker 6: express myself more.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to be safe too.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Thanks, guys.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Thanks for literally killing my demon. I mean, Jason, just
- 58:48Speaker 4: to be clear, like, I'm sure I got tons of

- 58:57Speaker 4: haven't made it a literal thing. villain we have to
- 59:01Speaker 4: face you know this is just part of the magic
- 59:06Speaker 4: that's in you now and I'm glad we got to
- 59:09Speaker 4: face it together.

- 59:13Speaker 1: We pretty much did.
- 59:16Speaker 2: We're all made of paper.
- 59:18Speaker 1: This is pretty cool. What is it going to sound
- 59:20Speaker 1: like when we group hug? No way to find out.
- 59:22Speaker 2: We'll have to find a crazy sound effect for this.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Crumple, crumple, crumple, crumple.
- 59:29Speaker 2: You all start getting sucked back out into the real world.
- 59:32Speaker 2: We're getting sucked! You take a stop at the chocolate
- 59:38Speaker 2: cake planet and grab some paper chocolate cake on your
- 59:41Speaker 2: way out. Your bodies awake back in Jameer's living room.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Is the lamp still hot?
- 59:50Speaker 2: Standing over you is a concerned-looking Maria.
- 59:55Speaker 6: Maria?
- 59:55Speaker 2: Both the Veniam Knight brothers and Jackie. It's been almost
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: a month in the real world and the election is.
