- 0:11Speaker 1: Social Security number or other personal information and tell you
- 0:15Speaker 1: that your Social Security number had been used in connection
- 0:17Speaker 1: with the crime? Did you feel worried that your Social

- 0:23Speaker 1: frozen or seized, or you could be arrested? That is
- 0:26Speaker 1: not the Social Security Administration. Social Security will not threaten you,

- 2:27Speaker 10: Getting by.
- 2:28Speaker 13: It's all taking and no giving.
- 2:30Speaker 10: Welcome in. Glad to have you with us on a Tuesday.
- 2:34Speaker 11: This portion of the program brought to you by Central
- 2:37Speaker 11: Texas Sports Medicine. I don't think it's any secret whose
- 2:42Speaker 11: music we are playing today, The Death of a Legend.
- 2:46Speaker 11: Mallory will be along at 5.30, and we will talk
- 2:50Speaker 11: about the life of Dolly Parton and play some incredible
- 2:55Speaker 11: music from her today. We don't have nearly enough time
- 2:58Speaker 11: to play everything that she has written and done.
- 3:02Speaker 10: In the course of her career. Coming up.
- 3:05Speaker 11: We have got a high school report. We have got
- 3:08Speaker 11: our final SEC preview. It's not a preview. It's a prediction.
- 3:15Speaker 11: And it's not really a prediction. It's a fact.
- 3:18Speaker 10: We've never been wrong. It is the most.
- 3:21Speaker 11: Listened to radio segment in the world, we've determined. I
- 3:24Speaker 11: will give my predictions of how everybody in the league
- 3:28Speaker 11: will finish coming up at the bottom of the hour.
- 3:32Speaker 11: We're going to hear from defensive lineman T.J. Searcy and
- 3:35Speaker 11: the second-hour defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill. And as I mentioned,
- 3:41Speaker 11: Mallory will be with us at the bottom of the
- 3:44Speaker 11: hour to talk about Dolly. And at 6 o'clock, we
- 3:49Speaker 11: have got Astros, Yankees, baseball, and the Astros are now
- 3:55Speaker 11: in second place in the AL West because the Rangers
- 3:59Speaker 11: are kicking ass. But they've won three out of four,
- 4:03Speaker 11: and they're actually at 500, I believe. 66-66 with 30
- 4:11Speaker 11: games to play. Oh, and we've got a little promo
- 4:17Speaker 11: about what's coming ahead starting next week. Most of you
- 4:20Speaker 11: who follow us can figure that out. Pete Thamel is reporting.
- 4:25Speaker 11: The Big Ten rule banning NFL players has passed with
- 4:31Speaker 11: unanimous approval by faculty reps, underclassmen who declared for the
- 4:37Speaker 11: NFL and did not withdraw, and any football player who
- 4:42Speaker 11: signed a contract with a pro sports league and anyone
- 4:46Speaker 11: who is officially on a professional roster will not be
- 4:50Speaker 11: eligible to play in the Big Ten. In the SEC,
- 4:55Speaker 11: the presidents and chancellors released a statement yesterday saying, oh,
- 5:02Speaker 11: we don't like this at all. And Lane Kiffin talking
- 5:08Speaker 11: to Pat McAfee today says, I think you're going to
- 5:13Speaker 11: get in an interesting situation where as a conference you're saying,
- 5:17Speaker 11: We're going to follow this court order, but these kids
- 5:20Speaker 11: that got that other court order, we're going to say, no,
- 5:23Speaker 11: you can't. Kiffin said, tied in to Quan Wright, who
- 5:29Speaker 11: was cut from Cleveland, chose LSU over other schools, but
- 5:34Speaker 11: he would not say.
- 5:36Speaker 10: Who those schools were.
- 5:41Speaker 11: People you know who should know better call from 4
- 5:44Speaker 11: to 6 o'clock. S, let's see. Greg Sankey, according to
- 5:53Speaker 11: league bylaws and or presidents of the SEC, do hold
- 5:57Speaker 11: authority to deem a player ineligible to fine and suspend coaches, etc.
- 6:06Speaker 11: Ross Dellinger says the SEC athletic directors say will be
- 6:11Speaker 11: expected to not accept pro players under the threat of penalty.
- 6:19Speaker 11: They may be put on double secret probation. Rangers White Sox,
- 6:25Speaker 11: game two of their series. Jacob DeGrom is on the
- 6:29Speaker 11: mound for Texas. I mentioned the Rangers are 66 up
- 6:35Speaker 11: and 66 down and in sole possession of first place
- 6:40Speaker 11: in the AL West for the first time since July
- 6:44Speaker 11: the 30th. A commanding half game lead over the Astros
- 6:49Speaker 11: who are 65 and 66 and playing with a manager
- 6:55Speaker 11: who will be fired.
- 6:57Speaker 10: At the end of the year. and an interim general manager.
- 7:04Speaker 11: Rookie right-hander Ethan Pekka will make his second career start
- 7:08Speaker 11: tonight against Will Warren of the Yankees. As I mentioned,
- 7:13Speaker 11: we will carry that broadcast here on The Zone at
- 7:19Speaker 11: 6 o'clock when we are finished this evening.
- 7:23Speaker 10: The U.S. Open is underway.
- 7:25Speaker 11: In fact, Serena Williams and Carlos Alcarez are playing mixed
- 7:31Speaker 11: doubles today.
- 7:32Speaker 10: I think they've already played. Is this a tape?
- 7:36Speaker 11: I thought that I'd already seen they'd already played, but
- 7:38Speaker 11: maybe not. PGA CEO and Commissioner Brian Rolap said today
- 7:47Speaker 11: the tour has no current plan to bring back the
- 7:52Speaker 11: returning member program, which would be a pathway for live
- 7:58Speaker 11: golfers to return to the PGA. The live future, of course,
- 8:03Speaker 11: is in doubt. Five-time major Brooks Koepka used the program
- 8:09Speaker 11: to come back to the tour in January after leaving live.
- 8:13Speaker 11: He agreed to forfeit player equity shares for the next
- 8:18Speaker 11: five years.
- 8:19Speaker 10: Is not eligible for the.
- 8:21Speaker 11: FedExCup bonus program this season and agreed to make a
- 8:26Speaker 11: $ 5 million donation to charity. It's short-sighted and stupid for
- 8:34Speaker 11: the PGA to penalize these guys, but hey, that's just
- 8:38Speaker 11: my opinion.
- 8:39Speaker 10: What do I know?
- 8:40Speaker 11: Meanwhile, the PGA Tour's future postseason... will include a 72-hole
- 8:48Speaker 11: stroke play tournament that will finalize the points list and
- 8:53Speaker 11: determine the season-long champ, followed by the top golfers competing
- 8:59Speaker 11: in match play over two weeks. Commissioner Rolap announced those
- 9:05Speaker 11: changes during a news conference today at Eastlake, where the
- 9:09Speaker 11: FedEx Cup Finals begin on Thursday.
- 9:13Speaker 10: The new postseason will make its debut in 2028.
- 9:17Speaker 11: Perhaps by then, they'll have a chance to get a
- 9:20Speaker 11: new sponsor because FedEx is done after this year. Rolap
- 9:26Speaker 11: told ESPN, I think one of the issues with the
- 9:29Speaker 11: Tour Championship was, I don't think anyone really felt it
- 9:32Speaker 11: was culminating in crowning the best golfer in the world.
- 9:36Speaker 11: I feel like calling it the playoffs was doing it
- 9:39Speaker 11: a disservice because it was just a competition. I think
- 9:43Speaker 11: we've established how you determine the best golfer in the world,
- 9:46Speaker 11: and then we've established a really great competition and format
- 9:49Speaker 11: that fans would like to see. The Tour Championship will
- 9:54Speaker 11: include the top 90 players from the season-long points list.
- 9:59Speaker 11: The final points list after that event will determine the
- 10:03Speaker 11: season-long champion and.
- 10:04Speaker 10: How they distribute the bonus.
- 10:06Speaker 11: As it is right now, the top 30 players will
- 10:12Speaker 11: compete this weekend in four rounds, and the winner will
- 10:17Speaker 11: get the $ 10 million bonus. In past years, the points
- 10:23Speaker 11: champion went into the tournament with as much as a
- 10:28Speaker 11: 10-stroke lead. It was a hinky, weird, wild thing that
- 10:34Speaker 11: nobody could keep up with.
- 10:37Speaker 10: This isn't much better.
- 10:38Speaker 11: As I mentioned, the winner of one tournament gets a
- 10:41Speaker 11: $ 10 million bonus and is declared the FedEx Cup champ
- 10:45Speaker 11: at All that means is he won one tournament among
- 10:50Speaker 11: the 30 so-called best golfers. But, of course, three or
- 10:54Speaker 11: four of the best golfers are still in live, and
- 10:58Speaker 11: the PGA apparently isn't going to let him back easily. So, anyway,
- 11:04Speaker 11: the stupidity continues in that sport.
- 11:07Speaker 10: Okay.
- 11:10Speaker 11: Tomorrow, Scott Clendenin will join me. Mallory will be back tomorrow. Thursday,
- 11:16Speaker 11: we'll have another high school report. We'll have our Clark
- 11:19Speaker 11: Eisenhower Outdoor Edition. We're going to have our annual visit
- 11:24Speaker 11: with Billy Lambert, wildlife biologist, to talk about what is
- 11:30Speaker 11: in store for the hunting season, which starts in Texas
- 11:34Speaker 11: September 1st with dove. We'll go in October to bow
- 11:38Speaker 11: hunting for deer and then in November.
- 11:41Speaker 10: For rifle deer hunting.
- 11:43Speaker 11: We will talk to Billy about what is going on
- 11:46Speaker 11: locally and throughout the state as we try to do
- 11:50Speaker 11: every year at this time of year.
- 11:53Speaker 10: So we got that going on for us.
- 11:56Speaker 11: And then Friday, Kurt Bowles and Tony Catalina return to
- 12:02Speaker 11: talk college football because. The college football season begins on
- 12:09Speaker 11: Saturday in Dublin, Ireland, TCU in North Carolina. Everybody is
- 12:16Speaker 11: in the pool a week from Saturday. So Kirk and
- 12:19Speaker 11: Tony will join me the way they will every Friday
- 12:23Speaker 11: during the football season. Kirk and I discuss the entirety
- 12:27Speaker 11: of college football. And Tony and I discuss Aggie football.
- 12:33Speaker 11: So that's the way it goes for us. the entire season.
- 12:38Speaker 10: And it's back.
- 12:41Speaker 11: America's favorite college football pick-em contest. Friday's fearless football forecast

- 13:18Speaker 11: And a chance to get your name engraved on the
- 13:21Speaker 11: most venerated trophy in all of sports. Friday's fearless football
- 13:28Speaker 11: forecast contest begins Monday and each week of the.
- 13:34Speaker 10: Season right here on The Zone. Good gosh, I love
- 13:40Speaker 10: that music, and you do too. All right, we're going
- 13:44Speaker 10: to take a break. We'll come back.
- 13:46Speaker 11: Caleb has a high school report after this for ANCO Insurance.

- 15:53Speaker 17: Way So I'll go But I know.
- 16:02Speaker 13: I'll think of you each step of the way.
- 16:12Speaker 17: And I will always love you. I will always love you.
- 16:23Speaker 18: Welcome into the High School Report. I'm Caleb Rapley, and
- 16:26Speaker 18: today we are jumping out to the Polaris Fund Center
- 16:28Speaker 18: phone line to visit with the head coach of the
- 16:31Speaker 18: Bryan Vikings football team, Mr.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Blake Joseph.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Coach, thanks for.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Joining me today.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Thanks for having me.
- 16:38Speaker 18: Going into your first season at the head coaching position
- 16:43Speaker 18: for your alma mater, Bryan announced you were hiring back
- 16:47Speaker 18: in January, so you have had pretty much a full
- 16:50Speaker 18: offseason to get settled in. But how has it been
- 16:54Speaker 18: for you so far?
- 16:55Speaker 5: It's been good. I got down here at the beginning
- 16:56Speaker 5: of February this past year, 2026, you know, spring season basically.
- 17:01Speaker 5: We've got some things implemented as far as our, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 5: how our kids train and get in the weight room
- 17:08Speaker 5: going and then obviously going through spring football and now
- 17:11Speaker 5: we're in the midst of it, starting fall camp and
- 17:14Speaker 5: then going through summer workouts as well with our kids.
- 17:17Speaker 5: And I'm enjoying it. Our kids are working hard. We
- 17:20Speaker 5: have a long ways to go. We're not the most
- 17:22Speaker 5: talented bunch, but I've been telling them since we got
- 17:25Speaker 5: here if we, you know, work extremely hard and play
- 17:28Speaker 5: very hard will give ourselves a chance to win.
- 17:32Speaker 18: So it is your first year as the head coach
- 17:36Speaker 18: at Bryan after a legendary career, both at Bryan High
- 17:41Speaker 18: and a few stops in college football as well. And
- 17:46Speaker 18: then your assistant coaching career started. You've been in a
- 17:50Speaker 18: lot of really very successful programs, including Denton Guyer. Magnolia West.
- 17:56Speaker 18: What are you planning to bring from all of this
- 17:58Speaker 18: experience back home to Bryan?
- 18:00Speaker 5: Really, I've been everywhere. I've been all over the state
- 18:02Speaker 5: of Texas. I've been to, you know, Dallas-Fort Worth area.
- 18:05Speaker 5: I've been to the North Houston area. And then I
- 18:07Speaker 5: also had a stop in Temple in Central Texas, who's
- 18:10Speaker 5: in our district. And so I bring a lot of
- 18:13Speaker 5: knowledge of just understanding the state of Texas and what
- 18:16Speaker 5: works and what does not work at certain programs. Every
- 18:19Speaker 5: culture is different. but I've been around, like I said,
- 18:23Speaker 5: all over the state of Texas, and I've gotten to
- 18:25Speaker 5: know a lot of people, people from different cultures, different backgrounds,
- 18:30Speaker 5: and like I said, every place is different, but as
- 18:31Speaker 5: far as my knowledge of football and the game, it's
- 18:35Speaker 5: grown a lot. I've been doing this for a long
- 18:37Speaker 5: time now, and I'm continuing to grow. You can't stop growing.
- 18:40Speaker 5: You always got to continue learning and pushing forward and
- 18:45Speaker 5: adapting to the new areas of football.
- 18:48Speaker 18: So you take over a Brian squad that unfortunately has
- 18:53Speaker 18: not made the playoffs since 2022. What is your plan to,
- 18:56Speaker 18: you know, kind of rebuild this program and get it
- 18:59Speaker 18: back to where it was when you were a player?
- 19:03Speaker 5: You know, I have a lot of belief in Brian.
- 19:04Speaker 5: I grew up here. Loved being a Viking. Small when
- 19:08Speaker 5: I was a young kid, you know, coming to Friday
- 19:09Speaker 5: night lights here was a spectacular thing because back then
- 19:12Speaker 5: it was just a one horse town. And, you know,
- 19:15Speaker 5: across the way was A & M Consolidated. They were
- 19:17Speaker 5: the only one horse town in College Station 2. And
- 19:19Speaker 5: so I always dreamed about playing here when I was younger,
- 19:22Speaker 5: playing quarterback here. And so it's a very unique place
- 19:26Speaker 5: for me. The cool thing is a lot of people
- 19:27Speaker 5: that are my age now have kids coming up either
- 19:30Speaker 5: elementary or middle school or high school. And I wanted
- 19:33Speaker 5: to see it return back into its heyday, what it
- 19:37Speaker 5: used to be. I think we can get it done here.
- 19:39Speaker 5: It's going to take a lot of work and a
- 19:41Speaker 5: lot of effort by you know, myself and my coaching
- 19:44Speaker 5: staff and also the community of Brian. You know, they've
- 19:49Speaker 5: got to do things to help our programs. And I
- 19:52Speaker 5: think there's a lot of good people here still. It's
- 19:54Speaker 5: a great place to raise a family. My parents are
- 19:57Speaker 5: still here. My wife's parents, they live in College Station.
- 20:00Speaker 5: She is from A & E Consolidated. And I feel
- 20:03Speaker 5: like this place can be unique again as it once was,
- 20:07Speaker 5: you know, mid-90s to early 2000s.
- 20:11Speaker 18: Your Viking squad this year only returning six starters from 2025.
- 20:17Speaker 18: So does that change your mindset coming into year one,
- 20:20Speaker 18: knowing that there's going to be a lot of growing
- 20:22Speaker 18: pains and a lot of young players starting on varsity?
- 20:26Speaker 18: Does that change your mindset coming into this?
- 20:29Speaker 5: I don't know if it'll change our mindset. We're going
- 20:31Speaker 5: to be young. It is what it is. We got
- 20:34Speaker 5: who we got. We're in high school. We don't get
- 20:37Speaker 5: to recruit. the kids walking through our hallways, the kids
- 20:40Speaker 5: we're going to coach our tails off with. And, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 5: we're going to be a young team, but I think
- 20:45Speaker 5: if we, like I said earlier, if we learn how
- 20:48Speaker 5: to work hard and we have been getting better at
- 20:50Speaker 5: that and we learn how to play hard, we'll give
- 20:52Speaker 5: ourselves a chance to scratch off some games here. But
- 20:56Speaker 5: the biggest thing is just getting out there every day,
- 20:58Speaker 5: getting better, you know, planning for the future and making
- 21:03Speaker 5: sure that, you know, we give our kids the best
- 21:04Speaker 5: opportunity to win, getting them in the right spots.
- 21:07Speaker 18: So in the past years, Brian has been more of
- 21:10Speaker 18: a running, ground-and-pound-focused sort of team. Is that what you're
- 21:16Speaker 18: going to bring to the table, or are you going
- 21:17Speaker 18: to change it up?
- 21:19Speaker 5: I bring a different style of offense, but every year,
- 21:21Speaker 5: this is high school football, you just don't have a
- 21:23Speaker 5: system in place every year. We have our own base
- 21:27Speaker 5: plays that we run every year, but at the same time,
- 21:29Speaker 5: you've got to adjust to the personnel that you have.
- 21:32Speaker 5: You might be having some years where you have a
- 21:34Speaker 5: really good quarterback and you're slinging it everywhere and you've
- 21:36Speaker 5: got some good receivers. In other years, you might not
- 21:40Speaker 5: have such a great quarterback, and you've got to learn
- 21:42Speaker 5: to run the ball and run the quarterback and adjust
- 21:46Speaker 5: to your personnel year in and year out because, like
- 21:48Speaker 5: I said, we are in high school football. We don't
- 21:50Speaker 5: have to recruit our kids. So your philosophy is always
- 21:53Speaker 5: changing year to year. Uniquely, I do like to run
- 21:56Speaker 5: the ball, but I like to throw it around too
- 21:58Speaker 5: as well. It's just finding a good balance for the
- 22:03Speaker 5: players that you do have.
- 22:05Speaker 18: Your season opener will be your first home game as
- 22:09Speaker 18: the head coach, and taking on Magnolia West, a team
- 22:13Speaker 18: that you were a part of that program for five years,
- 22:18Speaker 18: offensive coordinator and head coach. How much of an advantage
- 22:20Speaker 18: is that, being familiar with that team coming into the
- 22:24Speaker 18: season opener?
- 22:25Speaker 5: Yeah, familiar with the area for sure. I mean, I
- 22:28Speaker 5: haven't been there in half a decade, so I don't
- 22:31Speaker 5: know any of those kids anymore. But I do have
- 22:33Speaker 5: a couple coaches on staff that are still there that
- 22:35Speaker 5: worked for me when I was there. They got kids
- 22:38Speaker 5: that play really hard and they work their tails off.
- 22:41Speaker 5: They're going to give you everything they got and they're
- 22:45Speaker 5: going to play extremely hard and probably have a couple
- 22:47Speaker 5: big O-linemen, but we'll see when we see them on tape.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I think they're scrimmaging Waller today or they scrimmaged Waller yesterday,
- 22:55Speaker 5: excuse me, because they didn't go through spring football and
- 22:57Speaker 5: they got another scrimmage next week. I'm familiar with them,
- 23:02Speaker 5: familiar with that area. It's changed a lot since I
- 23:04Speaker 5: lived there, but that team and those kids will play
- 23:09Speaker 5: extremely hard.
- 23:10Speaker 18: And another non-district game that's got a lot of buzz
- 23:13Speaker 18: around it is your Week 4 matchup, which, you know,
- 23:17Speaker 18: is listed as a road game, but it will be
- 23:20Speaker 18: in Merrill Green Stadium against the Rudder Rangers. So how
- 23:23Speaker 18: excited are you and your kids to renew that rivalry?
- 23:28Speaker 5: Well, see, the old rivalry that I remember is Aiden Consolidated,
- 23:31Speaker 5: so this is new for me, you know.
- 23:33Speaker 2: And so..
- 23:34Speaker 5: I was long gone before this robbery, I guess, that kick-started,
- 23:37Speaker 5: because I guess Rudder was built in 2012. Is that right?
- 23:40Speaker 5: You know, I believe it is.
- 23:41Speaker 18: That sounds about right, yeah. I think that's when College
- 23:44Speaker 18: Station was founded as well.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Yes, it was about the same time, so we kind
- 23:48Speaker 5: of mirror each other. And so, no, the kids are excited.
- 23:51Speaker 5: I mean, they know all those kids over there. We
- 23:54Speaker 5: had a community pep rally. Those kids and our kids
- 23:57Speaker 5: were talking. I mean, they all grew up here in Bryan,
- 24:00Speaker 5: one big community. but it'll be a lot of fun
- 24:03Speaker 5: for the kids because they all grew up together and
- 24:06Speaker 5: they all want to go play against each other and
- 24:08Speaker 5: have a good time. It'll be a fun event for sure.
- 24:13Speaker 18: In your first season as head coach, what are some
- 24:15Speaker 18: benchmarks that you're looking to hit that are going to
- 24:19Speaker 18: tell you that you're headed in the right direction in
- 24:21Speaker 18: year one?
- 24:22Speaker 5: How we continue to practice and preparation through the course
- 24:25Speaker 5: of the season. The season can be long. We don't
- 24:30Speaker 5: We got it shorted in the stick on our bye
- 24:33Speaker 5: week because it was the last week of the season.
- 24:35Speaker 5: And I didn't come up with that. It was a
- 24:36Speaker 5: computer system, an algorithm, because of now the teams that
- 24:39Speaker 5: are in our district. So we've got to go 10
- 24:41Speaker 5: weeks straight with no time off. And so that's going
- 24:44Speaker 5: to be unique for our kids and new for our
- 24:48Speaker 5: coaches wherever we go 10 weeks straight. But just the
- 24:52Speaker 5: engagement for our kids in practice, everybody's excited to get
- 24:55Speaker 5: a year. How are they going to feel in week five,
- 24:57Speaker 5: week six, week seven? Those will be benchmarks I can
- 25:01Speaker 5: look at and say if we're making progress with our program,
- 25:04Speaker 5: the engagement with our kids and how focused they stayed
- 25:06Speaker 5: and how long they endure. Because great programs, really good
- 25:10Speaker 5: programs that play into December and late November, those kids
- 25:14Speaker 5: are always locked in, ready to go, and they're there
- 25:18Speaker 5: to work. Even when the season's very long, they stick
- 25:21Speaker 5: with it, they stay engaged, and they're really going out
- 25:25Speaker 5: there trying to get better because High school football, I
- 25:28Speaker 5: feel like in college, is very similar in an aspect
- 25:32Speaker 5: as far as what you see from the beginning of
- 25:35Speaker 5: the year to the end of it. Because when you
- 25:37Speaker 5: play in late November and early December, you're playing at
- 25:40Speaker 5: a high level, high level. So you don't have to practice.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Nobody's dropping balls. Nobody's missing exchanges with the quarterback and
- 25:48Speaker 5: running back. Defensive guys and D linemen know exactly where
- 25:50Speaker 5: they're going to be at, which gap they're shooting. But
- 25:53Speaker 5: those are going to be a big, big spot for
- 25:54Speaker 5: me is how long we can keep our kids pushing
- 25:57Speaker 5: themselves daily because this is all new for them and
- 25:59Speaker 5: they're working their tails off, but this is all new
- 26:01Speaker 5: for them. Like I said, the season can get long
- 26:05Speaker 5: and it gets hard because football is a violent game.
- 26:09Speaker 5: You've got to play through some pain and some injuries sometimes.
- 26:11Speaker 5: I told them the other day that this is probably
- 26:14Speaker 5: the best you'll ever feel right now. You're probably going
- 26:18Speaker 5: to be feeling 80% the rest of the year on
- 26:19Speaker 5: a good day. We've got to learn how to... Those
- 26:23Speaker 5: are the bits of us I'll be looking at for
- 26:25Speaker 5: for our kids and our program. And if we're doing
- 26:27Speaker 5: a good job with that, I feel like we'll probably
- 26:28Speaker 5: be playing pretty good football.
- 26:31Speaker 18: Well, we will be following your progress closely as every
- 26:34Speaker 18: game of Brian Viking football is broadcast right here on
- 26:37Speaker 18: The Zone, 1150 AM and 93.7 FM. But good luck
- 26:41Speaker 18: this season and thanks for joining me today.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 26:44Speaker 18: The High School Report is brought to you by Gilmore
- 26:46Speaker 18: Electric Express, Club Car Wash, and Chicken Express.

- 27:15Speaker 2: Oops.
- 27:16Speaker 9: It's a tragic ending, but it happens. And you, as
- 27:18Speaker 9: a human, are on cleanup duty. This summer, bring your

- 27:35Speaker 19: Howdy, Patrick Henning here with your Gilmore Electric Express light
- 27:38Speaker 19: bulb moment. Just like other systems in your home, your
- 27:41Speaker 19: electrical system needs regular checkups to make sure they're running
- 27:44Speaker 19: safely and effectively. Over time, electrical panels and wiring can
- 27:48Speaker 19: become outdated and can lead to potential hazards like electrical fires.
- 27:51Speaker 19: If you notice any flickering lights, tripping breakers, or if
- 27:54Speaker 19: you live in an older home, contact us for a
- 27:56Speaker 19: comprehensive electrical inspection to keep your home and family safe.
- 28:00Speaker 19: For your electrical needs, don't settle for less. Call Gilmore
- 28:03Speaker 19: Electric Express at 979- 77.
- 28:05Speaker 11: Light our high school report uh will change times just
- 28:12Speaker 11: 15 minutes from here through the rest of the year
- 28:15Speaker 11: and it will be on at 4 30 which is
- 28:18Speaker 11: our normal time but we had to move it because
- 28:20Speaker 11: we're doing our sec preview for the last three weeks
- 28:23Speaker 11: but caleb will be back thursday afternoon at 4 30
- 28:27Speaker 11: so We've got that going on for us, and he'll
- 28:32Speaker 11: be catching up with coaches from throughout the Brazos Valley
- 28:36Speaker 11: with the season starting. Some of the private schools already
- 28:39Speaker 11: started this last week. Zero Week is this week. The
- 28:45Speaker 11: Bryan Broadcasting family is carrying lots of high school football.
- 28:52Speaker 11: So if your team is local... We're carrying it, so
- 28:57Speaker 11: just be sure and check wherever everything is going. Like
- 29:02Speaker 11: Caleb mentioned, all the Brian High games are here on
- 29:05Speaker 11: the zone throughout the course of the year. Their opener
- 29:10Speaker 11: is at home Friday night, 7 o'clock, against Magnolia West.
- 29:15Speaker 11: We'll begin with the pregame show, and again, Brian High
- 29:19Speaker 11: football will be on here throughout our time. Coming up
- 29:24Speaker 11: in the second hour, we're going to hear from defensive
- 29:28Speaker 11: coordinator Lyle Hemphill. He met with the media, answered some
- 29:31Speaker 11: questions today after practice. The Aggies gearing up for their
- 29:37Speaker 11: season opener a week from Saturday. The countdown is getting serious.
- 29:42Speaker 11: College football is almost here. We could use a little
- 29:47Speaker 11: cooler weather, but hey, that's the way it always is
- 29:51Speaker 11: this time of year.
- 29:52Speaker 10: So we'll see how all of that works out.
- 29:56Speaker 11: Excited to be able to watch college football this Saturday, frankly,
- 30:01Speaker 11: and that'll be good. We're going to hear from Lyman T.J.
- 30:05Speaker 11: Searcy coming up here in a little bit. That will
- 30:08Speaker 11: be following our SEC prediction. And again, I'm giving you,
- 30:15Speaker 11: I'm stalling here just a little bit, but you need
- 30:18Speaker 11: to phone the neighbors, wake the kids, and tell them
- 30:23Speaker 11: we're about to do our predictions today. I'm watching Carlos
- 30:27Speaker 11: Alcaraz and Serena Williams. They're up four games to three,
- 30:32Speaker 11: but it's on serve against two players I've never heard of. Alcaraz,
- 30:39Speaker 11: being the best or the second best player of the world,
- 30:43Speaker 11: depending on what week it is, has never been great
- 30:46Speaker 11: playing doubles. I'm reminded of Tiger Woods, whose Ryder Cup
- 30:52Speaker 11: record wasn't great.
- 30:54Speaker 10: When you had to put him on a team.
- 30:57Speaker 11: These are individual sports, and sometimes people just don't play
- 31:01Speaker 11: well together. But it's interesting watching Serena and Alcarez play.
- 31:07Speaker 10: Okay, Galleria.
- 31:09Speaker 11: I want to send you over to Galleria because, you know,
- 31:13Speaker 11: doggone it, if you hadn't noticed.
- 31:15Speaker 10: It's hot outside.
- 31:16Speaker 11: But at Galleria Day Spa and Galleria Spa Salon.
- 31:21Speaker 10: It is cool.
- 31:24Speaker 11: Really cool and relaxing. Treat yourself to a massage. Manicures, pedicures,
- 31:32Speaker 11: couples massages, facials, full hair care salon for women and
- 31:38Speaker 11: men at the Century Square location. And gentlemen, this time
- 31:43Speaker 11: of year when you sit down like on Saturday and
- 31:46Speaker 11: don't get up until next January, how about a gift
- 31:51Speaker 11: certificate for your significant other? to let her go to
- 31:56Speaker 11: the spa while you're watching football.
- 31:59Speaker 10: Yeah, you're welcome.
- 32:01Speaker 11: You can go online at GalleriaSpaSalon.com. GalleriaSpaSalon.com.

- 32:40Speaker 2: Listen to the Houston Astros on the zone. Thanks to
- 32:43Speaker 2: Kelly Bird Dozer.
- 33:05Speaker 13: Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him just because
- 33:12Speaker 13: you can Your beauty is beyond compare With flaming locks
- 33:20Speaker 13: of auburn hair With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green.
- 33:28Speaker 11: Well, if Dolly calls this her favorite and best song,
- 33:31Speaker 11: then by God, this is her..
- 33:34Speaker 10: Favorite and best song.
- 33:38Speaker 11: We lost a good one earlier today, and Mallory will
- 33:43Speaker 11: be along in an hour. We'll spend some time talking
- 33:46Speaker 11: about Dolly's career. We're playing music throughout the course of
- 33:50Speaker 11: the program to honor just one of the greats.
- 33:55Speaker 10: One of the greats.
- 33:57Speaker 11: I believe this is correct, that this lady has given away.
- 34:02Speaker 10: Hundreds of millions of.
- 34:05Speaker 11: Books, more books than anyone in the history of the world,
- 34:10Speaker 11: she has given to kids through her Imagination Library program.
- 34:17Speaker 11: And that's just one of the many, many philanthropic things
- 34:23Speaker 11: she did throughout the course of her career. All right,
- 34:27Speaker 11: let's start at the bottom, work our way to the top.
- 34:30Speaker 11: In my mind, there are three teams that will fight
- 34:32Speaker 11: it out for the seller. Arkansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt. Yeah, it's
- 34:39Speaker 11: tough putting the Commodores on that list because I'm a
- 34:41Speaker 11: big Clark Lee fan. But replacing Diego Pavia, at least
- 34:47Speaker 11: for a year, may not be possible.
- 34:50Speaker 21: I think there's so much attention being given right now
- 34:52Speaker 21: to how this offense will take shape, specifically who's going
- 34:55Speaker 21: to take the snaps. And though that is an important question...
- 35:00Speaker 21: What I'm more interested in ahead of training camp is
- 35:04Speaker 21: how is this team strengthening in all the other areas
- 35:07Speaker 21: that will support that position.
- 35:10Speaker 11: Out of the mid group could emerge a legitimate conference contender.
- 35:14Speaker 11: Missouri is always overlooked and undervalued. Mississippi State is making
- 35:21Speaker 11: progress with Jeff Levy, and they found a quarterback late
- 35:25Speaker 11: last year. Florida with John Summerall adds a new vibe.
- 35:30Speaker 11: Auburn with Alex Golish replacing Hugh Freeze. South Carolina with
- 35:35Speaker 11: Shane Beamer's last stand and a former Heisman candidate at quarterback.
- 35:40Speaker 10: Remember Lenore Sellers?
- 35:42Speaker 11: Oklahoma is being mentioned as a repeat playoff team. But
- 35:47Speaker 11: Brent Venables and John Mateer will have to prove to
- 35:51Speaker 11: me they can do it. I'm just not convinced. Tennessee
- 35:56Speaker 11: with Josh Heupel is always undeniably really good offensively, but
- 36:03Speaker 11: has appeared, has Heupel, to be lacking in late-game decision-making.
- 36:09Speaker 11: Heupel was asked about the secret sauce in developing quarterbacks.
- 36:13Speaker 10: Catering to their skill.
- 36:14Speaker 11: Sets, etc.
- 36:15Speaker 22: Well, I think it starts with their skill sets and
- 36:18Speaker 22: their work, but having a plan of how we're going
- 36:21Speaker 22: to grow them inside of what we're doing, and then
- 36:23Speaker 22: I think our staff's ability to adapt to whoever the
- 36:26Speaker 22: quarterback is and put him in a position to do
- 36:29Speaker 22: things that he's doing at a really high level that
- 36:31Speaker 22: he's comfortable with, to put him in a position of comfort, confidence,
- 36:38Speaker 22: to go out there and play the way that you
- 36:39Speaker 22: need to at that position.
- 36:41Speaker 11: That leaves LSU, A & M, Ole Miss, Alabama, Texas,
- 36:45Speaker 11: and Georgia. I believe out of these teams, there could
- 36:49Speaker 11: be three to four with 10-2 records. The Aggies and
- 36:53Speaker 11: Longhorns both have tough road games, but for the third
- 36:57Speaker 11: straight season, a lot will be riding on the final
- 37:01Speaker 11: game the day after Thanksgiving. I like Alabama's schedule, but
- 37:06Speaker 11: I'm a little skeptical about the new quarterback. Ole Miss
- 37:11Speaker 11: has the quarterback, but I'm not yet sold on the coach.
- 37:16Speaker 11: LSU is talented with defense. NFL or not NFL players,
- 37:22Speaker 11: but there's always a lot of drama around Lane Kiffin.
- 37:26Speaker 11: Kirby Smart has been to seven straight SEC titles, and
- 37:31Speaker 11: he has won 17 and 21 in 10 years at Georgia.
- 37:37Speaker 11: He's a master motivator, and he's not finished.
- 37:42Speaker 8: Players leaving, coaches leaving, that's all people want to talk about.
- 37:46Speaker 8: But what we focus on at Georgia is what wins
- 37:48Speaker 8: football games. And that's my passion and energy. That's what
- 37:51Speaker 8: we love to do. We love to grind it out,
- 37:55Speaker 8: play physical football, be explosive in offense, be explosive in
- 37:59Speaker 8: defense by how you create turnovers and what you do
- 38:02Speaker 8: to create sacks. But at the end of the day,
- 38:04Speaker 8: I don't enjoy talking about all these things that are
- 38:06Speaker 8: the landscape of college football. I enjoy talking about what wins.
- 38:09Speaker 11: When all the dust settles, expect the dogs to be
- 38:13Speaker 11: on top. Our SEC preview has been brought to you
- 38:16Speaker 11: by Citizen State Bank, Zwerneman Flooring, MSC Opus, and First

- 40:21Speaker 26: All right.
- 40:40Speaker 10: Matt, we're not going to know what to do without
- 40:42Speaker 10: the SEC. Yeah, we are.
- 40:45Speaker 11: We're going to have real games to talk about starting soon,
- 40:48Speaker 11: so that's what we'll do. Again, thanks to everybody that
- 40:52Speaker 11: made the SEC preview possible. We're going to hear from
- 40:56Speaker 11: one of the Aggie linemen, T.J. Searcy, coming up. We're
- 41:00Speaker 11: going to hear from the defensive coordinator coming up. We're
- 41:03Speaker 11: going to talk with Mallory at the bottom of the
- 41:06Speaker 11: 5 o'clock hour. We're playing more Dolly music today.
- 41:11Speaker 2: It is..
- 41:15Speaker 10: It's a hard day.
- 41:16Speaker 11: We have lost an unbelievable singer-songwriter and an even better person.
- 41:25Speaker 11: The Astros Report. This is an organization that's reeling right now,
- 41:31Speaker 11: and I just hate that for them. The Astros Report
- 41:35Speaker 11: is brought to you by Oscar & Sons and Citizens
- 41:38Speaker 11: State Bank.
- 41:40Speaker 6: Even a so-called minor car wreck can turn your life
- 41:42Speaker 6: upside down, but Oscar & Sons Body Shop has been
- 41:45Speaker 6: providing customers state-of-the-art vehicle paint and body repair for generations
- 41:49Speaker 6: of motorists all over the Brazos Valley. Patrick and Tracy
- 41:52Speaker 6: Chappell continue to carry on the family tradition, and Oscar
- 41:54Speaker 6: & Sons was the first shop in the area to
- 41:56Speaker 6: use the PPG moonwalk technology to expertly match your car's
- 42:00Speaker 6: exact color. When accidents happen, call Oscar & Sons at
- 42:03Speaker 6: 979-778-6836 or online at austransons.com.
- 42:10Speaker 4: I'm Jett Nelson with your Houston Astros report. Houston needs
- 42:13Speaker 4: to rebound against the Yankees, but New York is having
- 42:16Speaker 4: their winning ways. Details are coming up next.
- 42:19Speaker 3: You finally plan that family vacation and you renew your
- 42:22Speaker 3: passport only to find out your passport has been denied
- 42:25Speaker 3: by the IRS. I'm Dallas tax attorney Nick Namath.
- 42:28Speaker 27: And I'm Jamie Flores, the managing partner at the law
- 42:30Speaker 27: offices of Namath and Flores. If you thought the IRS
- 42:33Speaker 27: can't affect your passport or ability to travel, guess again.
- 42:36Speaker 27: The IRS can and will prevent the issuance or renewal
- 42:39Speaker 27: of a passport for certain delinquent taxpayers.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Call the law offices of Namath and Flores today at 972-484-ZERO-TAX,
- 42:47Speaker 3: offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Frisco.
- 42:49Speaker 4: The Houston Astros hit the road as they get set
- 42:52Speaker 4: to face the New York Yankees in the Bronx tonight.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Houston went three for six over the nine-game homestand against
- 42:57Speaker 4: AL West opponents, which gave Texas the first-place spot after
- 43:01Speaker 4: their win over the White Sox yesterday. The Yankees have
- 43:04Speaker 4: been having a good stretch of games recently with six
- 43:06Speaker 4: wins out of their last seven. New York got the
- 43:08Speaker 4: better of Houston when they last met in April. Contending
- 43:11Speaker 4: their powerful offense seemed to be the issue for Houston
- 43:13Speaker 4: as the Yankees scored 24 runs over the three-game series.
- 43:16Speaker 4: The rookie Ethan Petko is getting another chance to prove
- 43:19Speaker 4: himself on the mound for Houston against Will Warren for
- 43:22Speaker 4: New York. The key for the Astros will be limiting
- 43:24Speaker 4: Ben Rice, whose mastered extra baits hits this season for
- 43:27Speaker 4: the Yankees, 57 total, including 34 homers. First pitch is
- 43:31Speaker 4: set for 6.05 tonight from Yankee Stadium, coverage on the
- 43:35Speaker 4: Space City Home Network. With your Houston Astros report, I'm
- 43:38Speaker 4: Jett Nolson.
- 43:39Speaker 25: Howdy, this is Aaron Fletcher with Citizen State Bank, fighting
- 43:43Speaker 25: Texas Aggie class of 1999. Here at Citizen State Bank,
- 43:46Speaker 25: we're proud to stand behind the Aggies. For over 100 years,
- 43:49Speaker 25: we've been a trusted teammate in our communities with local
- 43:52Speaker 25: people making local decisions. We pride ourselves in offering big
- 43:56Speaker 25: bank products with a personal connection that only CSB can deliver.
- 44:00Speaker 25: We're proud to support the Texas A & M Aggies
- 44:02Speaker 25: this season. Citizen State Bank, local people, local decisions, since 1925.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Member FDIC.
- 44:16Speaker 13: Back through the years I go wandering once again Back
- 44:22Speaker 13: to the seasons of my youth I recall a box
- 44:28Speaker 13: of rags that someone gave us And how my mama
- 44:34Speaker 13: put the rags to use There were rags of many
- 44:40Speaker 13: colors But every piece was small And I didn't have
- 44:45Speaker 13: a coat. And it was way down in the fall.
- 44:49Speaker 13: Mama sewed the rags together. So in every piece we loved,
- 44:55Speaker 13: she made my coat of many colors that I was
- 44:59Speaker 13: so proud of. As she sewed, she told a story
- 45:05Speaker 13: from the Bible she had read about a coat of
- 45:09Speaker 13: many colors. Joseph wore and then she said, Perhaps this
- 45:14Speaker 13: coat will bring you good luck and happiness. And I
- 45:19Speaker 13: just couldn't wait to wear it. And Mama blessed it
- 45:23Speaker 13: with a kiss. My coat of many colors that my
- 45:29Speaker 13: mama made for me Made only from rags, but I
- 45:35Speaker 13: wore it so proudly Although we had no money, I
- 45:42Speaker 13: was rich as I could be In my coat of
- 45:46Speaker 13: many colors my mama made for me So with patches
- 45:55Speaker 13: on my britches And holes in both my shoes And
- 46:00Speaker 13: my coat of many colors I hurried off to school
- 46:05Speaker 13: Just to find the others laughing And making fun of
- 46:10Speaker 13: me And my coat of many colors My mama made
- 46:15Speaker 13: for me And oh, I couldn't understand it For I
- 46:21Speaker 13: felt I was rich And I told them all the
- 46:25Speaker 13: love my mama sewed in every stitch And I told
- 46:30Speaker 13: them all the story mama told me while she sewed
- 46:34Speaker 13: And how my coat of many colors was worth more
- 46:38Speaker 13: than all their clothes But they didn't understand it and
- 46:45Speaker 13: I tried to make them see That one is only
- 46:49Speaker 13: born only if they choose to be. Now I know
- 46:55Speaker 13: we had no money, but I was rich as I
- 46:58Speaker 13: could be. In my coat of many colors, my mama
- 47:04Speaker 13: made for me.
- 47:06Speaker 26: Made just for me.
- 47:08Speaker 10: That's an autobiographical story.
- 47:10Speaker 11: A lot of times, you know, with legends, stories tend
- 47:15Speaker 11: to be embellished. But I think it would be hard
- 47:20Speaker 11: to overstate how poor she grew up in the hills
- 47:28Speaker 11: of Tennessee with no shoes or shoes shared between, I
- 47:37Speaker 11: think there were 10 or 11 kids or something like that.
- 47:41Speaker 10: Her father was illiterate.
- 47:43Speaker 11: He could not read, which is one of the reasons
- 47:46Speaker 11: why Dolly started the Imagination Library and has literally given
- 47:53Speaker 11: away a million books a month to kids all over
- 48:01Speaker 11: the world.
- 48:02Speaker 10: Pretty amazing.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 48:05Speaker 11: We've got more Dolly music coming up. It's hard to
- 48:08Speaker 11: pick just a few, frankly. But this being my show,
- 48:13Speaker 11: I got to pick my favorites, and I had to
- 48:15Speaker 11: leave some off as well. We're going to hear from
- 48:19Speaker 11: Aggie defensive lineman T.J.
- 48:21Speaker 10: Searcy.
- 48:23Speaker 2: So, T.J., you were part.
- 48:25Speaker 28: Of a really strong defensive line last year with, what,
- 48:29Speaker 28: four or three other guys got drafted?
- 48:31Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
- 48:32Speaker 28: So when you look around, what's around you now? What's
- 48:35Speaker 28: kind of your appraisal, the scouting report from the guy
- 48:39Speaker 28: that's been there?
- 48:40Speaker 29: Yeah, as far as the defensive line we got this year,
- 48:42Speaker 29: I think we got a lot of depth. I feel
- 48:44Speaker 29: like we might have got a little bit more depth
- 48:45Speaker 29: than we do even last year. with them guys going
- 48:48Speaker 29: to the league and stuff like that. We got a
- 48:50Speaker 29: lot of young guys and our quarter guys who came in.
- 48:53Speaker 29: I feel like they're going to make great contributions to
- 48:55Speaker 29: the team.
- 48:56Speaker 28: Texas A & M had one of the best pass
- 48:57Speaker 28: rushes in the country last year. I mean, it's probably expected.
- 49:04Speaker 2: That it won't be quite as good last year.
- 49:06Speaker 28: What do you think of potentially this pass rush?
- 49:11Speaker 29: Yeah, God willing, we're trying to grow on what we
- 49:13Speaker 29: had last year God willing, it should be better than
- 49:17Speaker 29: it was last season.
- 49:18Speaker 2: We're doing everything we're supposed to do. Why could it
- 49:20Speaker 2: be better? Yeah, like I said, we got depth this year.
- 49:26Speaker 29: We got more guys this year that it's like there
- 49:30Speaker 29: shouldn't never really be anybody on.
- 49:31Speaker 2: The field who's tight. And then how are you better? Yeah,
- 49:35Speaker 2: this year I just got exponentially better.
- 49:38Speaker 29: As far as using my length, getting off the ball,
- 49:42Speaker 29: pass rushing, just being more vocal.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 49:46Speaker 18: How would you describe Anto, both as a player and just.
- 49:51Speaker 2: In person, as someone who's gotten to know him over
- 49:53Speaker 2: this past year? Yeah, Anto, he's a real cool dude.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Super smart.
- 49:58Speaker 29: He loves football. He hasn't left the facility off our account,
- 50:01Speaker 29: so yeah. That pretty much shows you what type of
- 50:03Speaker 29: dude Antone is.
- 50:04Speaker 21: What's the most maybe impressive thing that you've seen him do.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Whether it be on the field or in the weight
- 50:09Speaker 2: room even?
- 50:10Speaker 29: I'd probably say Antone's most impressive part of his game
- 50:16Speaker 29: to me is his getoff. He's very twitchy off the ball.
- 50:19Speaker 11: A lot of people have been talking about your leadership style,
- 50:23Speaker 11: just how you kind.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Of develop in year two. What does that look like
- 50:25Speaker 2: for you?
- 50:26Speaker 26: Has there been a point in Memphis to kind of take.
- 50:27Speaker 2: That on this season?
- 50:29Speaker 29: Yeah, I've definitely been trying to lead a little bit more.
- 50:33Speaker 29: I feel like I used to lead more so, try
- 50:35Speaker 29: to lead by example last season, just try to do
- 50:38Speaker 29: everything right and just hope people would see me. But
- 50:41Speaker 29: this season, I'm kind of, you know, losing my voice
- 50:45Speaker 29: a little more speaking to people.
- 50:47Speaker 18: Other than you guys are guys with less experience at
- 50:50Speaker 18: linebacker to start this year.
- 50:52Speaker 10: What is the communication like and their ability to kind
- 50:54Speaker 10: of get everybody set up?
- 50:56Speaker 29: Yeah, the new linebackers that came in, they communicate very well.
- 51:00Speaker 29: All the walk-throughs we have have been helping them a lot.
- 51:02Speaker 29: I feel like they got the defense down pretty down pat.
- 51:07Speaker 2: It's year one under Lyle Hamill from D.C. What have
- 51:09Speaker 2: you learned from him, and what has been the biggest
- 51:11Speaker 2: thing that he's preached to y'all?
- 51:13Speaker 29: Yeah, Coach Hamill, he just preaches effort, attack, attack and effort.
- 51:18Speaker 29: That's our main things. We just have urgency. That's the
- 51:22Speaker 29: main thing Coach Hamill cares about. If we out there
- 51:24Speaker 29: playing hard, everything else is going to fall into place.
- 51:27Speaker 2: How much pride do.
- 51:28Speaker 15: You take kind of stuff beyond pass rushing to stopping
- 51:31Speaker 15: the run and tackling it?
- 51:32Speaker 2: What do you think makes you so good in those
- 51:34Speaker 2: kind of areas? Yeah, for sure.
- 51:38Speaker 29: I take just as much pride in stopping the run
- 51:40Speaker 29: as I do in pass rushing because I feel like
- 51:43Speaker 29: you're not able to pass rush until you stop the run,
- 51:45Speaker 29: so you've got to earn the right the rest of
- 51:47Speaker 29: the passing.
- 51:49Speaker 2: I think that helps you compliment Marco, Banto, and for
- 51:52Speaker 2: your pass rushing, what have you been working on this offseason?
- 51:56Speaker 2: I've really been working on using my power.
- 51:59Speaker 29: And I think it definitely helps me compliment those guys
- 52:01Speaker 29: as we have, like I said, other twitchy guys on
- 52:04Speaker 29: the edge that can combine with me using my power.
- 52:07Speaker 29: I think that causes a lot of problems for offenses.
- 52:11Speaker 2: What are some of the offensive linemen that you've gone
- 52:13Speaker 2: against that.
- 52:13Speaker 13: Stood out to you?
- 52:14Speaker 2: At practice?
- 52:15Speaker 9: Yes.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Honestly, our offensive line looks pretty strong.
- 52:21Speaker 29: Wilt and Tyree, them two tackles, they've been.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Doing pretty good against me.
- 52:28Speaker 16: You mentioned the depth that you feel like you guys
- 52:29Speaker 16: are really developing at the defensive line.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Who are maybe some of the guys that have really
- 52:34Speaker 2: stepped up and made some.
- 52:35Speaker 18: Big strides this offseason that will give you that depth
- 52:37Speaker 18: that you're looking for?
- 52:39Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 52:39Speaker 29: I mean, we got, like Elko said the other day,
- 52:43Speaker 29: we about got 22 starters on defense.
- 52:45Speaker 2: So it's like..
- 52:47Speaker 29: It's countless guys that could come onto the field.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Like, whether it be Marco, Anto, Ryan, Sam, and Bumba.
- 52:57Speaker 2: You know, like, I just feel.
- 52:58Speaker 29: Like we got a lot more pieces than we did
- 53:00Speaker 29: last year where we'll be relying on just a couple guys.
- 53:04Speaker 11: Interesting comments by Cersei because there were NFL players on
- 53:11Speaker 11: the line of scrimmage last year and he said, we
- 53:13Speaker 11: got more this year. You know, and I I do
- 53:17Speaker 11: think the depth might be better.
- 53:22Speaker 10: Will that translate?
- 53:24Speaker 11: You know, one of the things that we've seen for
- 53:27Speaker 11: a couple of years is the consistency in my mind
- 53:32Speaker 11: defensively because the pieces seem to be there.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:39Speaker 11: You know, at times it was the linebackers not fitting
- 53:43Speaker 11: the run well. At times it was the defensive linemen
- 53:45Speaker 11: not fitting the run well or the secondary. And that
- 53:51Speaker 11: led to big plays.
- 53:53Speaker 10: You know, and that's one of the things we will
- 54:02Speaker 10: look at.
- 54:04Speaker 11: And again, might not be able to tell won't be
- 54:07Speaker 11: able to tell the first game, might not be able
- 54:10Speaker 11: to tell.
- 54:12Speaker 10: The second game.
- 54:17Speaker 11: But when conference play starts, you start looking at the consistency.
- 54:25Speaker 11: You know, like the number of three and outs, how
- 54:30Speaker 11: other teams are able to sustain drives or confer third
- 54:35Speaker 11: downs or hit big running plays, that's some of what
- 54:41Speaker 11: we'll be looking at on that side of the ball.
- 54:45Speaker 11: The lines, you know, I hate to repeat ourselves, but
- 54:49Speaker 11: it's a line of scrimmage league, and you're only going
- 54:51Speaker 11: to go as far.
- 54:52Speaker 10: As both lines of scrimmage take you. That is, I.
- 54:58Speaker 11: Think linebacker is one of the things you look at.
- 55:01Speaker 11: I think offensive line is one of the things you
- 55:04Speaker 11: look at. And the consistency of quarterback play. You know
- 55:08Speaker 11: pieces are there. The receivers are there. The running backs
- 55:11Speaker 11: are there. Skill position. The secondary really looks solid. So
- 55:20Speaker 11: I think it's a team that can do some damage.
- 55:23Speaker 11: But in order to do that, hey, what were they?
- 55:31Speaker 11: I mean, last year was pretty good, right? Last year
- 55:36Speaker 11: was pretty good. I know it didn't end like everybody wanted,
- 55:40Speaker 11: but last year was pretty good. And the question is,
- 55:44Speaker 11: do you take that, do you build on what we
- 55:46Speaker 11: saw a year ago? You know, are you able to
- 55:50Speaker 11: take another step? Are you able to play for a
- 55:53Speaker 11: conference championship? MarbleCraft has been part of our community for

- 57:31Speaker 11: Like, actually free?
- 57:33Speaker 12: Yes, every Wednesday night.
