- 0:19Speaker 1: the one you trust, brought to you by the Dungeons
- 0:22Speaker 1: family of Auato's Dunees Toyota.

- 0:27Speaker 2: Good morning Tom, of course I did. Good morning Tom.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Have you out there, everybody, all our good friends in Bartlesville.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Thanks for joining us this morning. We're so glad you're
- 0:35Speaker 2: with us. Yes, I've got Maestro Lauren Green here with
- 0:38Speaker 2: us this morning as well.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Laura, great to be here. It's great to have you back.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I want to hear about all the good stuff going
- 0:44Speaker 2: on at the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra, uh and everything else
- 0:49Speaker 2: going on we've got as a new year here, We've
- 0:52Speaker 2: got I've been through a year of transitions out at
- 0:55Speaker 2: the dealership.
- 0:56Speaker 4: We're well, I should say, you have made big changes.
- 0:59Speaker 2: We did make some changes. I still have people asking
- 1:01Speaker 2: me questions all the time.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Well, you're going to be mister Ford as long as
- 1:05Speaker 5: you're allowed. Well, I still have you know, we have
- 1:07Speaker 5: a lot of Ford stuff.
- 1:08Speaker 3: There's so the model T replica Shay.
- 1:13Speaker 2: That's on the now in the showroom and oh, yeah, yeah,
- 1:16Speaker 2: there's a we've got a great old Ford hack depot
- 1:21Speaker 2: truck that Stein actually built, you know, pretty much from
- 1:25Speaker 2: the ground up, an old insurance agent here in town
- 1:27Speaker 2: and his children and kind of left that with us
- 1:30Speaker 2: to caretake for. So we've got that, lots of pictures
- 1:33Speaker 2: of Henry and know that we're Ford still but that's
- 1:36Speaker 2: part of our legacy certainly, or the legacy of the
- 1:39Speaker 2: Dungeess Automotive Group.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Almost ninety five years.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Wow, that's really amazing. That started downtown over here, and.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Well, actually started out in Takawha, that's right, that's right.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I remember that was what was ninety five years ago.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And in that h yeah, twenty nine, my grandfather and
- 1:57Speaker 2: his brother had a store over there after they graduated
- 2:01Speaker 2: from Oklahoma City University and and came back and they'd
- 2:07Speaker 2: worked for the dealer prior to going to college, and
- 2:10Speaker 2: it just seemed.
- 2:11Speaker 3: The thing to do.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Actually, when my grandfather did take off with his new
- 2:15Speaker 2: wife to Colorado for a while and worked on a
- 2:18Speaker 2: milk farm, but that only lasted a month and a
- 2:21Speaker 2: half I think, and cars still being so close to
- 2:26Speaker 2: the grounds tough Leveda I think, which is a little
- 2:29Speaker 2: bitty town in the middle of southern Colorado in the
- 2:33Speaker 2: mountains and beautiful place. But I drove very near there
- 2:37Speaker 2: last week when I drove up to Colorado.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Need stumping ground.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great, but anyway, that's a diverse Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Well that's when we get celebrated.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Fifty sixth anniversary in Toyota, Cartilesville, just Toyotayota in December,
- 2:56Speaker 2: and we're really proud of that. Yeah, the oldest toy
- 3:00Speaker 2: To dealership in the state. And so now we are
- 3:03Speaker 2: solely focused operationally on Toyota. We kept the body shop.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's it's moved over to Toyota. Not that that you'll any people.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We'll fix anything, and we're excited to focus and grow
- 3:17Speaker 2: and and you know, it's it's really was just a
- 3:20Speaker 2: decision that helped us focus. You know, there were some
- 3:23Speaker 2: things in any business. It's a family business and in
- 3:26Speaker 2: our third and the fourth generation working for me now,
- 3:30Speaker 2: and it's a you know, I have rather works there
- 3:34Speaker 2: and sisterban and laws and uncles. Joe's the oldest employee
- 3:39Speaker 2: there over fifty years working at the dealership, and you know,
- 3:42Speaker 2: so it is a family business and this just the
- 3:45Speaker 2: you know, focusing and keeping going is what we're there for.
- 3:49Speaker 2: And this is a big transition and and we're you know,
- 3:52Speaker 2: it's exciting to us there and we're just looking to
- 3:55Speaker 2: grow and and really you know.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Keep serving the community.
- 3:59Speaker 5: And it's in our employees, and I'm glad you still
- 4:02Speaker 5: have a presence here in the community and you didn't
- 4:04Speaker 5: just pack up and.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Walk away and say I'm done.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Would be done.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It's in your blend, your blood, and you know a
- 4:13Speaker 2: lot of it is around our people. And you know,
- 4:16Speaker 2: it's the same thing you get in any great organization.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I'm sure it happens. I know it does.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I mean there's.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Audition and a legacy and uh and you look to
- 4:27Speaker 5: the future, but you also remember the past and you
- 4:29Speaker 5: build on that past.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 2: No, it's it's the same thing in a business. And
- 4:34Speaker 2: you know, you know, the car business is just one
- 4:36Speaker 2: of those that I mean, you do. The neat thing
- 4:38Speaker 2: about it is we deal with everybody, and you know,
- 4:42Speaker 2: we get to deal with all types of folks and
- 4:43Speaker 2: all situations and it's all it's always different.
- 4:47Speaker 3: That's great. Yeah, I love it.
- 4:50Speaker 2: So it was another thing last month we did during
- 4:53Speaker 2: our anniversary month, we were.
- 4:55Speaker 3: We gave everybody who purchased a vehicle a chance.
- 4:58Speaker 2: To uh select a charity to make a donation to,
- 5:02Speaker 2: and there were many charities chosen.
- 5:04Speaker 3: The top three were some of the traditionals.
- 5:07Speaker 2: We've been doing this in our April Anniversary for the
- 5:10Speaker 2: last couple of years. But yeah, the top three this
- 5:13Speaker 2: year were the Boys and Girls Club, Hope so In
- 5:16Speaker 2: Cancer Support Center, and Jerney Home and proud to announce
- 5:20Speaker 2: this morning that really the runaway winner was Journey Home
- 5:24Speaker 2: and Surprised and they will receive a total five thousand
- 5:28Speaker 2: dollars from us in a combined gift of us in
- 5:31Speaker 2: a matching gift from Toyota. And you know, we could
- 5:35Speaker 2: just keep doing stuff like that that we like to
- 5:37Speaker 2: be able to help our community and be able to
- 5:41Speaker 2: support these great organizations, and you know, people like what
- 5:44Speaker 2: you guys do too. I mean it's a different end
- 5:47Speaker 2: of the spectrum. And you have some nonprofits and arts
- 5:50Speaker 2: and culture are so important to our fabric life in
- 5:54Speaker 2: the community. And I know the Barshool Symphony goes back.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Over nineteen fifty seven, sixty yeah, sixty.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Two, and really you know his historically, you know, like
- 6:10Speaker 2: so much of barbells, go back, goes back to the company.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Yes, yes, and yes because the fact.
- 6:16Speaker 5: That the company brought in people to bartles This symphony
- 6:19Speaker 5: was the Phillips Symphony up until the mid seventies, and
- 6:23Speaker 5: so yes, while it wasn't exclusively Phillips, it was there
- 6:26Speaker 5: because of Phillips, because even though they didn't necessarily fund
- 6:29Speaker 5: it a whole lot, they gave it a place to perform.
- 6:31Speaker 5: It was, as you say, they brought in the caliber
- 6:34Speaker 5: of people who also had a musical background and wanted
- 6:36Speaker 5: to play, and then the other be half wanted to
- 6:40Speaker 5: enjoy it, and so.
- 6:41Speaker 4: That was the well, I think that it's.
- 6:45Speaker 5: The Bartelsville legacy really in so many ways that you know,
- 6:49Speaker 5: the Phillips Company didn't create it, but in a sense
- 6:54Speaker 5: did and sustained what we have today us we built
- 6:58Speaker 5: upon it.
- 7:00Speaker 2: You know that some of the great resources that we
- 7:03Speaker 2: have exactly and the fact, you know a lot of
- 7:05Speaker 2: communities our size don't have no Christ Tower. It's physical
- 7:08Speaker 2: resources or the people and recon and co modes, arts
- 7:12Speaker 2: and boys and Girls clubs like we have, and the
- 7:14Speaker 2: organizations like the Journey Home or Cancer Support Center or
- 7:17Speaker 2: the Four Ahs and FFAs.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I mean, it's so rich in this kind of.
- 7:23Speaker 5: It's an interesting challenge and I'm sure for you as
- 7:27Speaker 5: one who supports these charities, but there are so many
- 7:30Speaker 5: nonprofit organizations in this town. It's a good thing and
- 7:33Speaker 5: it's a bad thing because it's hard for the rest
- 7:36Speaker 5: of us, you know, where there's so many directions you
- 7:38Speaker 5: can give and support, and the arts are over here
- 7:42Speaker 5: and ministries like Journey Home or hospice and other things.
- 7:49Speaker 4: You know, they're all good things.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, and everybody has limited resources, so so
- 7:56Speaker 5: and people like you, our companies like you can sort
- 7:59Speaker 5: of add to it and add that.
- 8:01Speaker 3: To that support.
- 8:02Speaker 2: It really helps the rest of Well, it's so important
- 8:04Speaker 2: for our community, I think, and you know, to draw
- 8:06Speaker 2: attention to the strength that we have because it will
- 8:09Speaker 2: it will not sustain itself, No, for sure.
- 8:12Speaker 3: It doesn't.
- 8:12Speaker 5: And that's the challenge we're at now. Is the community changes.
- 8:15Speaker 5: And I'm sure you've seen it over the years. It's
- 8:18Speaker 5: a different community than it was thirty forty years ago.
- 8:21Speaker 2: There's no people know I've been involved in the Price
- 8:24Speaker 2: Tower stuff, yeah, you know, and it's a it's heartbreaking
- 8:27Speaker 2: to me how we're sitting there with that right now,
- 8:29Speaker 2: I almost wanted to be open with people going in
- 8:32Speaker 2: and enjoying it, being able to see what it is
- 8:35Speaker 2: and make the building live. That's what we tried to
- 8:37Speaker 2: do for so long. And it's heartbreaking. We're at this
- 8:41Speaker 2: point and I don't know how it's going to work out,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and you know, I just know that that it will
- 8:45Speaker 2: in the long run. It's still there and we're gonna
- 8:48Speaker 2: we're going to save it. I know the community will.
- 8:50Speaker 2: We'll find a way. And you know.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Well, as the saying goes, you don't miss your water
- 8:54Speaker 5: till the well runs dry, right, and you know, the
- 8:57Speaker 5: well has been going down lately in various ways, I'm sure,
- 9:02Speaker 5: controllably and uncontrollable. And so you find new ways. And
- 9:06Speaker 5: that's something we can talk about here. New ways to
- 9:09Speaker 5: do what you do in the community, what we do
- 9:12Speaker 5: as a symphony, New ways that'll still reach people, but
- 9:16Speaker 5: maybe different ways to skin the catts.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so to speak, well, that's let's talk about programming,
- 9:22Speaker 2: because that's the whole thing with the symphony is you've
- 9:24Speaker 2: got stuff that you're going to present to the community.
- 9:27Speaker 3: You're running well, yeah, because organization behind you in so many.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Obviously we're a Symphony.
- 9:31Speaker 5: We have, you know, sixty seventy musicians that get up
- 9:34Speaker 5: there on stage and give concerts. But we're also trying
- 9:37Speaker 5: to find different ways to sure each people who might
- 9:40Speaker 5: either have different interests or want a different experience musical experience.
- 9:44Speaker 5: So we've developed coming up very quickly, two smaller events
- 9:50Speaker 5: that feature just a few musicians from the orchestra in
- 9:54Speaker 5: a whole different setting, in a setting with food and
- 9:57Speaker 5: drink and sort of casual but yeah, performing you know,
- 10:02Speaker 5: really nice listenable music in this. And so we've got
- 10:06Speaker 5: a woodwind Quintet concert coming up Saturday the eighteenth, and
- 10:11Speaker 5: it's up.
- 10:11Speaker 4: In the gallery.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Both of these are up in the gallery at the
- 10:13Speaker 5: Community Center, and you know, we'll have tables and nice
- 10:17Speaker 5: drinks and munches and food and sort of sit at
- 10:20Speaker 5: tables and listen to some nice music and informally, you know,
- 10:24Speaker 5: the musicians will describe it. And than the one in
- 10:28Speaker 5: February is strings and it's going to be romantic because
- 10:31Speaker 5: it's around Valentine's date, and so it'll be candlelight and
- 10:35Speaker 5: romantic music performed by a string ensemble. And so these
- 10:39Speaker 5: two things are coming up. That one's February.
- 10:42Speaker 3: I went to.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Seventh and so it's the eighteenth coming up with woodwinds
- 10:46Speaker 5: and then strings in February.
- 10:48Speaker 4: So those are two things that are sort of off
- 10:49Speaker 4: the beaten path.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Well actually that's the title of the series, off that
- 10:54Speaker 5: because they're different, but they're a different way to reach
- 10:57Speaker 5: people with music and touch their hearts.
- 10:59Speaker 2: No, I know, And you like to bring people into
- 11:01Speaker 2: music too and explain fifth grade program.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and that's coming up in February two. And
- 11:08Speaker 5: I want to mention that because that's something you and
- 11:11Speaker 5: your company have supported over the years. Our Link Up Concert,
- 11:15Speaker 5: which we do on a Wednesday in late February, we
- 11:19Speaker 5: bring in fifth graders from all over the region, not
- 11:21Speaker 5: just Bartlesville, and it is a concert that was developed
- 11:25Speaker 5: by Carnegie Hall and they provide the music and they
- 11:28Speaker 5: provide the script and all of this stuff and we
- 11:30Speaker 5: just put on this great concert. The kids have been
- 11:33Speaker 5: learning this music in their classrooms for all year and
- 11:36Speaker 5: so they know all the songs, they can sing them,
- 11:39Speaker 5: they can play them on their recorder.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Well, they actually participate.
- 11:42Speaker 5: And they do it with the symphony. They sit there
- 11:45Speaker 5: in their seats and they sing and they play. And
- 11:49Speaker 5: you know what fifth grader has a chance to play
- 11:51Speaker 5: with the symphony, and so it's really a cool thing
- 11:55Speaker 5: and it's a great outreach that we have to fifth
- 11:59Speaker 5: graders and we do this every year.
- 12:00Speaker 3: I do like that one. That's one of those. Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 3: it's really cool to.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Bring in people that may not have a chance to
- 12:07Speaker 2: go through the symphony or be involved.
- 12:09Speaker 3: In that kind of Ye.
- 12:10Speaker 5: They come from Kansas, they come from our Kansas City
- 12:13Speaker 5: way by whichitah, they come all different directions.
- 12:15Speaker 3: And do that. How many children do you know?
- 12:19Speaker 4: I should know. I think it's somewhere.
- 12:21Speaker 5: I think it changes from year to year, and of
- 12:23Speaker 5: course COVID you know now we're rebuilding again. But I
- 12:27Speaker 5: would say probably nine to nine hundred two thousand kids.
- 12:31Speaker 5: You know, all those buses pull up and unloaded they come.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it really is.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I went there once a few years ago during that
- 12:40Speaker 2: when they were doing the record.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Even I told our board the other night, I said, guys,
- 12:44Speaker 5: I know it's in the middle of the day, but
- 12:46Speaker 5: if you possibly can just come to see.
- 12:49Speaker 4: It, yeah, you won't believe it.
- 12:51Speaker 5: And it really is true to see all those kids
- 12:53Speaker 5: and they're just so excited about seeing the same for
- 12:56Speaker 5: some of these guys, probably the majority.
- 12:58Speaker 3: This may be the.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Only time they actually we watch its funny.
- 13:01Speaker 3: And that's not something everybody does all the time.
- 13:04Speaker 2: So of course you're proud to have a lot of
- 13:06Speaker 2: great and loyal supporters that do buy your main stage programs,
- 13:10Speaker 2: oh sure, and buyer season tickets.
- 13:11Speaker 5: But even there, it's a challenge because so many adults
- 13:14Speaker 5: have never you know, they have a stereotype of a
- 13:17Speaker 5: symphony and a symphony concert that it's pretty untouchable and
- 13:21Speaker 5: I won't be able to relate to it, and you
- 13:23Speaker 5: know that music is different, and so we try to
- 13:26Speaker 5: break down those barriers very hard and make it use
- 13:29Speaker 5: a friendly.
- 13:29Speaker 2: And you really are a community orchestraates you mentioned with
- 13:32Speaker 2: people from around here, it is.
- 13:34Speaker 3: It is Borlsville.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Also the whole region perform in the symphony. They also
- 13:39Speaker 5: come to listen to the symphony. We have it very
- 13:42Speaker 5: good reputation.
- 13:43Speaker 3: That's good.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Well, it is a great organization and those events coming up,
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm sure people want more information on that.
- 13:50Speaker 5: If yeah, they can just go always go to the
- 13:51Speaker 5: community center website or in person.
- 13:55Speaker 4: We're on phone and they'll tell you all you need
- 13:57Speaker 4: to know.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Awesome, Well, that sounds like a great, great programs coming up,
- 14:01Speaker 2: and I'm sure you know, there's also lots of information
- 14:05Speaker 2: on the main stage stuff that.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Yeah, and our next big concert is the end of March,
- 14:09Speaker 5: and then we end with with a concert in May,
- 14:13Speaker 5: and that's going to be almost all video game music
- 14:16Speaker 5: and wow. Yeah, and I'm assembling some I didn't think
- 14:20Speaker 5: i'd be able to find an.
- 14:24Speaker 2: All of the above vintage all of the above I've
- 14:26Speaker 2: got from an arcade.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yes, there might be, you know, I.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Remember playing Kicks, which was one of those.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 5: Oh, everybody has their favorite, and it will be interesting
- 14:39Speaker 5: because I'm sure a lot of people would be disappointed
- 14:41Speaker 5: that where was such and such, you know, But you know,
- 14:45Speaker 5: I mean the world of video games in the last
- 14:48Speaker 5: what forty years, it's just huge. And originally most of
- 14:54Speaker 5: that music was produced on little bleep bloop electronic things,
- 14:57Speaker 5: you know, think of your Atari and Pong and stuff.
- 15:01Speaker 4: There wasn't even music there, I don't think.
- 15:02Speaker 5: But then they started putting orchestras to work, and it's
- 15:07Speaker 5: now like the movies where they they it's a whole
- 15:11Speaker 5: industry of composing and film scoring.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I'm just told I was only involved in video gaming
- 15:18Speaker 2: really in the eighties.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Yeah, well that's it.
- 15:20Speaker 5: And and you know, a lot of our audience is
- 15:22Speaker 5: going to be your age, maybe even my age, and
- 15:26Speaker 5: so they're going to remember this stuff from the seventies,
- 15:28Speaker 5: eighties and so forth, and maybe even the nineties.
- 15:30Speaker 4: So it's a little hard to go back too far,
- 15:32Speaker 4: but I'm trying.
- 15:33Speaker 5: But you know, between Mario and Hight in Magic and
- 15:40Speaker 5: on through Halo and even stuff like Halo, I mean
- 15:43Speaker 5: that's like twenty years old or something. So and they
- 15:46Speaker 5: go through all these iterations of now we're in Final
- 15:48Speaker 5: Fantasy twelve, you know, and it's new music for each time.
- 15:53Speaker 5: This should make you accessible anyway, that's all discussion about
- 15:55Speaker 5: the May music and May concert, so that'll be lots
- 15:58Speaker 5: of fun.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Well, that is a example of how you're trying to
- 16:01Speaker 2: build the programming to make it.
- 16:03Speaker 4: And it's legit music.
- 16:05Speaker 5: I mean, it really is legit music, astounding composing a
- 16:09Speaker 5: lot of it coming out of China. I mean, I
- 16:11Speaker 5: made one discovery of a game that's you know, wildly
- 16:14Speaker 5: famous all over the world.
- 16:15Speaker 4: This is out of my league. But you know the.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Composer, you know, a Chinese guy who looks like he's
- 16:21Speaker 5: about fifteen and is composing this giant symphonic stuff and
- 16:26Speaker 5: it's really great. So it's been a world of the
- 16:31Speaker 5: challenge is finding the literal music. You can find recordings
- 16:35Speaker 5: of it, right, get the sheet music or something that's
- 16:39Speaker 5: legally permissible to perform, which way maybe in the gray
- 16:43Speaker 5: area we'll say, but we won't talk about that on
- 16:46Speaker 5: the radio.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Here I think saying.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Very forgiving folk around, good good.
- 16:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Anyway, it makes it makes programming a symphony interesting.
- 16:57Speaker 3: So that's awesome.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Well, so many great things going on, and you know
- 17:03Speaker 2: at the dealership this month we've got we're off and running.
- 17:06Speaker 2: We had a really strong finish. I mentioned our anniversary
- 17:09Speaker 2: event that we're focused on Toyota. Now we've got a
- 17:13Speaker 2: lot of great incentives have continued this month, great leasing
- 17:16Speaker 2: opportunities on Toyota that give you a chance to have
- 17:19Speaker 2: a really lower your payment, sometimes as more than twenty
- 17:23Speaker 2: or thirty percent up to forty fifty percent.
- 17:26Speaker 3: It's dropping the payments from a traditional loan.
- 17:29Speaker 2: And you know, with leasing it's a little bit different
- 17:31Speaker 2: where you're essentially are buying the car for a few
- 17:34Speaker 2: years a certain amount of time in miles, but you're
- 17:37Speaker 2: early only, so buying that part of it and the
- 17:40Speaker 2: rest of it you can give back to the leasing company,
- 17:44Speaker 2: or purchase it for yourself, or sell it to the
- 17:47Speaker 2: dealer and make a profit, or or trade in to
- 17:50Speaker 2: buy your next vehicle. And you know, so it's not
- 17:54Speaker 2: something that's real common in our area, but it's something
- 17:56Speaker 2: that Toyota is great resale value, really makes work with
- 18:00Speaker 2: with the toyotas it worked well. And I mentioned some
- 18:03Speaker 2: of those big gaps on rate are are really going
- 18:07Speaker 2: to be outstanding on things like Tundra, Tacoma, the land
- 18:12Speaker 2: Cruiser and Sequahia.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Vehicles that often don't have.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Huge incentives and stuff like the Squalia land Crews or
- 18:18Speaker 2: are Crown Crown Signia that are really hot and not
- 18:22Speaker 2: you know, sometimes you can't get incentives and great deals
- 18:25Speaker 2: on it, but it's a way to get a good
- 18:27Speaker 2: deal because of the the resale value of those vehicles
- 18:30Speaker 2: are expected to truck.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I still top of the pretty muchretty much.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You know, we see a lot of people exploring the
- 18:37Speaker 2: different powertrain issues. You know, not so much in our
- 18:42Speaker 2: area really electric, but but hybrid and hybrid with electric.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And we've sold a few of the of the Preus
- 18:50Speaker 2: Prime and RAP four Primes recently that have really for
- 18:54Speaker 2: a few years. We're only available in California, and these
- 18:56Speaker 2: are plug in hybrid vehicles, so that so that they
- 18:59Speaker 2: have about a fifty mile range on electricity only, so
- 19:03Speaker 2: getting around Barlsville all day.
- 19:05Speaker 3: You'd be fine.
- 19:07Speaker 2: But then they have a gasoline hybrid engine that actually
- 19:10Speaker 2: can you take off and go to Kansas City right
- 19:13Speaker 2: conveniently without having to worry about charging, and that that's
- 19:16Speaker 2: most people have as still a real concern.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Well, as you may remember, I'm right downstairs, here are
- 19:23Speaker 5: twenty seventeen Ford hybrid station and you know, you plug
- 19:27Speaker 5: it in and you can go. I can get around town. Yeah, no,
- 19:30Speaker 5: it goes maybe fifteen miles right older.
- 19:33Speaker 2: But forgotten you had that. Yeah, you were one of
- 19:35Speaker 2: the first ones that we saw.
- 19:37Speaker 3: It was I like it.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they're great, and so we're seeing that just come
- 19:42Speaker 2: up more and more. And of course you know that's
- 19:45Speaker 2: actually on the Toyota side. What you get there with
- 19:47Speaker 2: the hybrid engines is really outstanding performance too.
- 19:52Speaker 3: They're dialed up to give you the power.
- 19:55Speaker 2: If you need it for towing speed, and then also
- 19:58Speaker 2: to have that good fuel economy, improve fuel economy.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Great engines really well tuned and drive well.
- 20:05Speaker 2: With the crazy weather we got coming later today, you
- 20:08Speaker 2: want to be careful with that. And you know we're
- 20:13Speaker 2: mind everybody. You know, if you just stay at home
- 20:17Speaker 2: if you can. If it gets it gets iffy out there,
- 20:19Speaker 2: the tires, your windshield wipers are the key things right there.
- 20:24Speaker 2: You want to keep your windshield as clean as you can.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Don't pour a bunch of hot water on it if
- 20:28Speaker 2: it gets cold, and you're likely to not have a
- 20:32Speaker 2: windshiet and but try to keep it clean, Get some
- 20:36Speaker 2: some fluid in there, keep the that area clear from
- 20:40Speaker 2: any ice and snow build up if you can, and uh,
- 20:43Speaker 2: you know, so certainly keep it safe. Distance and no
- 20:46Speaker 2: quick movements and you're driving. That's the main stuff. We
- 20:49Speaker 2: don't get this a lot around here, folks. So I
- 20:53Speaker 2: want to warn everybody. You know, you don't don't need
- 20:56Speaker 2: any business at the body shop at this point.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Well, we're doing fine.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Everybody, stay safe out there, and I know it's it
- 21:06Speaker 2: isn't our usual weather for car talk. We like to
- 21:09Speaker 2: have a nice sunny a day. Really, Yes, it seems
- 21:13Speaker 2: like gosh, but maybe next week we'll see. Actually next
- 21:18Speaker 2: week I'll be out again too. I'm going to a
- 21:20Speaker 2: Winter Dealer meeting for its other actually come back with
- 21:23Speaker 2: some great information from them and about stuff that's coming.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I know we will be getting our twenty five's are
- 21:32Speaker 2: already you know, well underway. But we're going to get
- 21:36Speaker 2: some new models. I know the new Forerunner is just
- 21:40Speaker 2: about here, so that's going to be a totally redesigned Forerunner.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I think this year we also get the redesigned Wrap
- 21:47Speaker 2: four and some other updates on different vehicles. We're going
- 21:50Speaker 2: to get a new trim level on the mat on
- 21:52Speaker 2: the land Cruiser, and more production on the Sequaia vehicles
- 21:57Speaker 2: like that.
- 21:57Speaker 4: The land Cruiser just sort of recently came.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yes, it just it just did return.
- 22:02Speaker 2: It had been out and it's really a reimagined land
- 22:05Speaker 2: Cruiser back to the original concept of being more of
- 22:09Speaker 2: a utilitarian vehicle. Land Cruiser had become kind of the
- 22:13Speaker 2: premiere flagships.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Uh, SUV and uh.
- 22:17Speaker 2: You know today, if you're looking for that, you probably
- 22:19Speaker 2: would want more of a higher end Sequalia, the Capstone Sequalia,
- 22:24Speaker 2: maybe a t r D Pro, but the really the
- 22:29Speaker 2: land Cruisers.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Uh, it's a great vehicle. It's still got a plenty of.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Back. The Bronco did it have the same sort of nostalgia.
- 22:40Speaker 2: It really don't want a comparable vehicle and UH in
- 22:44Speaker 2: the Toyota DNA, so you know, and you're going to
- 22:47Speaker 2: get the same type thing with the fore Runner with
- 22:49Speaker 2: a lot of with a trail addition that's really going
- 22:53Speaker 2: to be exciting to people, and you know it should
- 22:56Speaker 2: be should be good.
- 22:57Speaker 3: We're excited for that.
- 22:58Speaker 2: And the new rept I got to see at the
- 23:01Speaker 2: last dealer meeting and it's you know, that's our best selling.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Toyota truly around the world at this point.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And grab for the range, the small suv, mid mid
- 23:12Speaker 2: sized suv and just a great vehicle, good size to
- 23:17Speaker 2: a great economy, fun to drive, last forever and getting
- 23:22Speaker 2: an uplift and a facelift, I should say, and and
- 23:27Speaker 2: actually more than that, got pretty deep redesigned with some
- 23:30Speaker 2: new trim levels there too, and.
- 23:34Speaker 3: All our team out there have information on that.
- 23:37Speaker 2: And you know, I want to remind everybody some of
- 23:40Speaker 2: our values out there. We are definitely U a non
- 23:44Speaker 2: commissioned UH sales team. Our team is all paid salaries
- 23:49Speaker 2: and you know, bonuses based on how well we do
- 23:52Speaker 2: and not based on selling you a car and how
- 23:56Speaker 2: much we make.
- 23:57Speaker 3: And I like that a lot.
- 23:59Speaker 2: We have up up pricing without any hidden fees, and
- 24:03Speaker 2: we call it simple pricing. And you know, sometimes it's
- 24:06Speaker 2: a struggle in our business to not play those games.
- 24:10Speaker 2: And I struggle even on our website sometimes the whole
- 24:14Speaker 2: system wants to kind of make it so you have
- 24:17Speaker 2: to jump through these hoops to get what the information
- 24:20Speaker 2: you want. We try to make to remove those barriers.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Let you get in there, work your own deal. You know,
- 24:27Speaker 2: we market based price all our vehicles. That doesn't mean
- 24:31Speaker 2: we won't move some, but but we just make it
- 24:34Speaker 2: so that it's a fair price. We know that's what
- 24:37Speaker 2: you expect, and so going in off the bat and
- 24:40Speaker 2: we don't come in and raise our prices. We know,
- 24:43Speaker 2: I've seen a lot of press in the last couple
- 24:45Speaker 2: of weeks about the FTC and states taking action against
- 24:49Speaker 2: dealers that are doing things like adding stuff to cars
- 24:53Speaker 2: that you don't know about and or say taking away
- 24:59Speaker 2: discounts if you don't finance er trade with them which
- 25:02Speaker 2: are not is not legal, and uh, you know, so
- 25:06Speaker 2: we just don't play those games. We want to be
- 25:09Speaker 2: simple and uh and upfront with people and uh, you know,
- 25:12Speaker 2: treat them like our family and friends, and you know,
- 25:15Speaker 2: it doesn't mean we're perfect at all.
- 25:16Speaker 3: We're just people like you.
- 25:18Speaker 2: But our team believes in that they want to take
- 25:20Speaker 2: care of our customers, and they're so low and a
- 25:23Speaker 2: great team.
- 25:25Speaker 3: You know, we we.
- 25:26Speaker 2: We really, I'm really proud of the team and what
- 25:29Speaker 2: they're doing and they are are as. They've supported us
- 25:32Speaker 2: in this transition, uh away from.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Selling the Forward store and focusing on Toyota.
- 25:39Speaker 2: You certainly couldn't do it without all those folks and
- 25:43Speaker 2: our great customers, and so thank you to all of
- 25:46Speaker 2: you out there that are listening and and Blurn. I
- 25:49Speaker 2: guess we should remind them when those two micro events
- 25:54Speaker 2: are because that's kind of unique, and especially one right
- 25:57Speaker 2: before Valentine's Days going.
- 26:00Speaker 5: To be fun and I'm actually arranging a lot of
- 26:02Speaker 5: that music for the strings in February, and then the
- 26:07Speaker 5: concert next Saturday a week from now will be fun
- 26:12Speaker 5: with the woodwind quintet, which the people don't know is
- 26:16Speaker 5: a flute, an obo, a clarinet, a bassoon, and a
- 26:19Speaker 5: French horn, so that's called a woodwind quintet.
- 26:22Speaker 4: There's been music written for it for some reason.
- 26:24Speaker 5: So they're going to have a wide variety of stuff
- 26:27Speaker 5: from France last century all the way through ragtime and
- 26:31Speaker 5: lots of fun stuff.
- 26:32Speaker 3: So it should be. And where do we get tickets?
- 26:35Speaker 5: Tickets at the Cabartlesville Community Center, and they're available, and
- 26:39Speaker 5: we'd love to have people there and they can have
- 26:42Speaker 5: a glass of whatever we wind up offering and.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Or more than the glass, and some food and sit
- 26:50Speaker 4: down and.
- 26:51Speaker 5: Enjoy some great music for a shortish sort of you know,
- 26:54Speaker 5: hour or so concert in the evening on that Saturday night.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Saturday night, What time seven on the eighteenth.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I wouldn't say dinner probably, but at least I
- 27:05Speaker 5: mean orders, yeah, yeah, and.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Then fill your tea with you. Yeah, I see what
- 27:10Speaker 3: you do.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Absolutely absolutely musical and otherwise apportive.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Good Well, thank you Lauren for coming on the show.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It's always great to talk to you and and get
- 27:22Speaker 2: on it. And yeah, it's good to have you again.
- 27:26Speaker 2: And thank you for your sticking around here and being
- 27:29Speaker 2: part of this and holding the hold in our great
- 27:31Speaker 2: symphony together. I'm sure it's not it's not you, but you.
- 27:35Speaker 4: And all of you it's coming. All your symphony is
- 27:38Speaker 4: a big team.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I know it's always changing.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Perfect metaphor for what you do and what any business
- 27:45Speaker 5: really has to do and what we do in life
- 27:47Speaker 5: is we work together.
- 27:48Speaker 4: And uh, there may be a leader, there.
- 27:50Speaker 5: May be somebody who cohes, you know, co here's it
- 27:53Speaker 5: all together. But at the same time, it takes individuals.
- 27:56Speaker 3: We see that in our community.
- 27:57Speaker 2: We talked about the financial spread out, but the people
- 28:01Speaker 2: get spread out too. And you see that in all
- 28:03Speaker 2: the great organizations, whether it's the Roundup Club and the
- 28:06Speaker 2: Generations to get that they go through out there and
- 28:08Speaker 2: what you guys have been through at the Symphony.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So congratulations, well thanks for your help with that.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Thank you. Good to be here.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Hey, Brad, let's announce the winner of the Oh yes,
- 28:18Speaker 2: the winner of the anniversary charity promotion this year once
- 28:23Speaker 2: again in a runaway was Journey Home. We'll be out
- 28:27Speaker 2: contacting them. We've just finished telling so we haven't really
- 28:30Speaker 2: sent anything out yet, but they'll get a total of
- 28:32Speaker 2: five thousand dollars from Dungeons and Toyota to the Journey
- 28:36Speaker 2: Home for their great work and helping people through their
- 28:40Speaker 2: end of life situations. And you know, they've helped our
- 28:42Speaker 2: family and my extended family, and I know that's why
- 28:46Speaker 2: so many people support them.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Because they've reached so much of our community.
- 28:49Speaker 4: They do it well.
- 28:51Speaker 1: You've been watching and listening to our car Talk program
- 28:54Speaker 1: with the Dungeons Family of Autos Dungeons Toyota, thank you
- 28:58Speaker 1: very much for watching and listening today
