- 8:15Yeah? Not many today? Chadwick didn't come through. Huh no,
- 8:20Yeah, take a look at this. All these places. Yeah, I'm
- 8:26always exactly the same. They got a little neighborhood jewelry store. She stays
- 8:31on the outside, He goes inside and cleans the place. I hit once
- 8:33and scrambled the next time. Then these descriptions are all pretty much alike,
- 8:39including the one. We got some Chadwick. Hey, what about that?
- 8:45I thought sure Tynan was our boy. Well, let's keep hauling them in.
- 8:48Okay, Well, how'd you come out sixteen? How about you thirty
- 8:56three? I'll have to wait two more years for another exam unless they two
- 9:01sergeants quit the boys. You you get a chair. So not much.
- 9:05I've never made more than fourteen appointments in the two year period. That's the
- 9:09way it goes with a civil service. Well, at least the waitness over.
- 9:13Huh, that's something sticky, some gamer. What do you mean some
- 9:18gameh storry? You got ring? Yeah? Denver? M Well, hold
- 9:30on, Matt, what about tiling back at the city jail. It's going
- 9:33to be arraigned on concealed weapons this afternoon. It's okay, thanks, Ryan,
- 9:37Tilon may still be our boy, Matt. Keep a police in Denver
- 9:41wants us to hold jewelry store man. They're identified the picture we put on
- 9:45the wire last night. Get Chadwick up here, and he's down looking through
- 9:48a mug file. Long, Lieutenant, I've been away from my store all
- 10:07morning. It won't take too long, mister Chadwick. We just want to
- 10:11clarify a few matters. You want us to get the man and woman who
- 10:15held up your store. Don't yes, of course, then why have you
- 10:18been wasting my time, your time, the department's time, mister Chadwick.
- 10:22What last Saturday morning a man and woman stuck up your jewelry store, happening
- 10:26approximately eleven thirty in the morning before you went to the bank. Now just
- 10:30a minute, we'll kind of lat hey, you finish and then you can
- 10:31talk. Besides a sizeable amount of jewelry stock, you also reported that over
- 10:35eight hundred dollars in cash was taken from your safe. It's a matter of
- 10:41routine. Our robbery division found out that you haven't deposited more than four hundred
- 10:45dollars in cash on any Saturday morning within the last eight months. But we
- 10:48gave you the benefit of the doubt. Seemed in good faith and anxious to
- 10:52cooperate with us. Not hand me. Then hey, I ben thanks.
- 10:58This is a picture that went out with the Yre last night. So man
- 11:01you saw in the lineup this morning, his name is John Tynan. A
- 11:05victim in Denver identified this picture of the man working with an unidentified woman who
- 11:11held up his store with pretty certain he's the same man who held you up.
- 11:16Well, what have you got to say, all right, I guess
- 11:20I've caused you an awful lot of trouble. It isn't the first time a
- 11:24victim hasn't identified a thief because of the money hoped to collect on his casualty
- 11:28policy. Well how, mister Chadwick. Yes, yes, he's the man
- 11:35who helped me up. Will I be booked or something? How much cash
- 11:39did he actually get? Three hundred and sixty dollars? How much did you
- 11:41claim? Eight hundred plus him, informed Matt, so we can verify this
- 11:46identification. I don't understand people. Sometimes they hope and holler and cry for
- 11:52law and order and protection. When they have an opportunity to do something active
- 11:56in the way of apprehending criminals, they passed it up, signed him,
- 12:01mister Chadwick. Yeah, and this copy to him. Oh fie, you
- 12:11better call you a lawyer, mister Chadwick. Insurance companies don't like to be
- 12:16lied to either. Yeah. I got it too, And there's a couple
- 12:37of retirements coming up next month. Yeah, congratulations, clean, Yeah,
- 12:41thank you man. Lord, you've been sweating it out, heaven't we all?
- 12:46Okay, what's that book number again? Due to six eighty nine?
- 12:58Let him up? For your line up today? Uh huh, how's mommy?
- 13:05Good? Hey? Hey Sarge, Hey, hey Sarge, I got
- 13:07to see him. Assist a minute. I got something to your add later.
- 13:11Hey. Ay, but supports Stager and don't don't forget Hell's age?
- 13:16All right, come get three? Have you been? Lieutenant? Fine?
- 13:18Thank yourself? Good? Hey lieutenant, why don't you get him to put
- 13:22radios in these places? At least? File the series is on? Alright,
- 13:28alright, knock it off, your guys, knock it off. Some
- 13:31people want to get some sleep around here, you know, Cannan. Ye,
- 13:39come on now, what this ray? There's no phone in here,
- 13:54Ben, we won't need one, thanks being sh sit down, John Smoke,
- 14:01Sure why the visit? They're identified John Denver Police. Wan't you for
- 14:11the same thing we picture up on here? And mister Chadwick here in town's
- 14:15identified you too, man showan, Yeah, we come over. Well Si,
- 14:26what does it mean that depends on you? Ever been in trouble before?
- 14:33Now? How old I am? Twenty three? Well, with or
- 14:37without a statement, you'll be in dibted for grand theft and robbery. They
- 14:41can also throw in transporting stolen property, carrying concealed weapons be easier if you
- 14:46cooperate with us. How long it's up to the judge of the Superior coin,
- 14:54but we'll be there to tell him how much you helped us or how
- 14:56much you didn't. Name's Irene Oldham. You can pick her up at the

- 16:17first, he can take to each other. Wait a minute, they pick
- 16:19up Irene yet we're doing it now. I don't want to see when they
- 16:23bring her in. Lieutenant, have to see her when you're a ring,
- 16:26but I don't want to see her now. Okay, Well let's go ahead,
- 16:30and how long have you known Irene Oldham. I met her two months
- 16:34ago where my hometown to peak it going John. We liked each other,
- 16:41Irene and mean I decided to pull some jobs together. Or was it all
- 16:45idea? Your idea, both of us, I guess. But she figured
- 16:48out a way to do it. The idea was to hit and run.
- 16:52So we took her car and went on the road. We'd go into jewelry
- 16:55store and pretend like we're gonna get married and wanted to pick out a ring.
- 16:59We'd until the store cleared if there were customers in there. Nobody suspected
- 17:03us, even though Irene's almost thirty. We both looked the same age.
- 17:07I guess. Well, when we had our chance, I'd gunned the storman
- 17:11and Irene keep a lookout in front. That's the way we planned it all
- 17:15the time. We'd stay in different places each town. Where were you last?
- 17:18Saturday morning? At eleven thirty, When I was with Irene at a
- 17:22jewelry store in Eastern Avenue in this city named the Storm the Elite Jewelry Company,
- 17:30we robbed it. I used a gun thirty two revolvers that I bought
- 17:34him to pick a Kansas My accomplice. Accomplice and robbing. This robbery was
- 17:40Irene Oldham. She looked out the front while I stuck up the man inside.
- 17:45I took everything in the open cases in the store that looked valuable to
- 17:48me, and then I forced the man to open the safe. I remember
- 17:52it was three hundred and sixty dollars because the man had it already deposit in
- 17:55the bank. I went outside then and yeah, a hold attunel well checked
- 18:02out an hour ago. Just mister, I'll tell manage to report of the
- 18:06big nice looking guy came and got her bag and baggage girl of a cat
- 18:08at fifty one. Dorman thinks sixty two are first, and the license numbers
- 18:14heard her call him, Frank. Let's see what you can do with license
- 18:17registration coin and get out an APB on him and can't get too fun right,
- 18:25all right, go ahead, John. I gave the money and the
- 18:29jewelry to Irene, like I've been doing in all the jobs. Irene was
- 18:33saving it all for us. This was our last stop. We were going
- 18:37to get married and go to South America. When we finished, I'll throw
- 19:02the Monika file on at Frank. Anyway, Oh, that's sixteen possibilities from
- 19:06the description being worked on friends in her room matched up. She's a hometown

- 22:18and Johnny by Benny Dip which you don't recognize any of those names. And

- 28:52room, may I have your attention? Please? Thank you. My name
- 28:56is Greb so I should Matt Web. I'll explain the line up to you.
- 29:00Each of the suspects you will see will be numbered. I'll call off
- 29:03at number, then they even charge. If you have any questions or identifications,
- 29:08please remember the number of a sign of the pistolers. I call this
- 29:11Maiden and The line Up, starring Bill Johnstone as Lieutenant Ben Guthrie and Wally
- 29:26Mayer a sergeant Matt Grabb, was written by E. Jack Newman, with

- 30:00Saturday, Joan Crawford stars in I Knew This Woman, a poignant drama of
- 30:04family life, when Stars Over Hollywood launches it's eleventh big season of dramatic hits
- 30:10on CBS Radio. Stars Over Hollywood has heard every Saturday in the daytime hours
- 30:15on most of these same CBS radio stations. Dan Coverly speaking and remember It's
- 30:30two hours of music the Nason's favorite songs every Friday evening on the CBS Radio
- 30:36Network Welcome Back. Well, I don't. It's kind of an interesting tactic
- 31:36in getting the witness to change their identification by telling telling the witness that they
- 31:48knew eligned, but also kind of an interesting scheme as well. I was
- 31:52a little confused by the Civil Service exam thing because it seemed like earlier in
- 31:59the show it mentioned Guthrie and Grabs having taken an exam and being ranked higher,
- 32:05and it seemed a little soon for another around of exams. But I
- 32:09may have missed that. If you remember the episode and I'm misremembering it somehow,
- 32:15let me know, all right, Well, listen or comments and feedback,
- 32:22and Joel says the composer is Shostakovich. I got it. I hope,
- 32:34I hope Shostakovich. As for the big size, it is his giant
- 32:42size. Really uh funny story tells his kids and not to me little.
- 32:46I assume that is the case, since no characters in the show make reference
- 32:50to twenty four but tall man with size nine hundred shoes. It's an odd
