Transcript
- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. We're in the park again, and I'm so excited because I think I spotted another butterfly. Lucas: Oh, really? Where? Luna: Right over there on that flower. It's so pretty. Lucas: Ah, I see it. Let's describe it in Italian. First, we already know 'la farfalla' means 'the butterfly'. Luna: Right, la farfalla. Lucas: And we learned 'l'ala' for 'wing'. Today let's say 'le ali sono colorate' — 'the wings are colorful'. Luna: Le ali sono colorate. The wings are colorful. Lucas: Exactly. Now look at how it flies — gracefully. We can say 'La farfalla vola in modo elegante' — 'The butterfly flies gracefully'. Luna: La farfalla vola in modo elegante. That's a mouthful. La farfalla vola in modo elegante. Lucas: You got it. And overall, 'La farfalla è bellissima' — 'The butterfly is very beautiful'. Luna: La farfalla è bellissima. I love that word, bellissima. Lucas: It is lovely. Also, we can describe the wings as 'variopinte' — 'multicolored'. Luna: Le ali sono variopinte. That's a fun word. Variopinte. Lucas: Let's practice all together. Repeat after me: La farfalla ha le ali colorate. Luna: La farfalla ha le ali colorate. Lucas: La farfalla vola in modo elegante. Luna: La farfalla vola in modo elegante. Lucas: La farfalla è bellissima. Luna: La farfalla è bellissima. Lucas: Le ali sono variopinte. Luna: Le ali sono variopinte. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's imagine we're telling a friend about this butterfly. You could say: 'Guarda, la farfalla ha le ali colorate e vola in modo elegante. È bellissima.' Luna: Guarda, la farfalla ha le ali colorate e vola in modo elegante. È bellissima. I can totally say that. Lucas: You just did. Lucas: And then 'Il fiore è rosso' — 'The flower is red'. So many possibilities. Luna: This is so much fun. I feel like I'm really there. Lucas: That's the goal. Keep practicing these phrases, and next time you see a butterfly, you'll know exactly what to say in Italian. Grazie for joining us, and see you next time. Luna: Ciao ciao!
