- 0:05Speaker 1: me out on my homeboy the Bootleg cav podcast Kicking
- 0:08Speaker 1: These Facts man, because CAV tripping everything ain't a classic.
- 0:11Speaker 2: CAV White Guys. Glasses Malone is on the show. We
- 0:18Speaker 2: have his new album, Cancel These Nuts, Cancel These Nuts.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's here. Yeah, got the hard copies, old school. I
- 0:29Speaker 2: haven't seen a real like dope CD in a while.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It's really dope too. I'm like, man, we did a team,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we really put that together and it's nice. Came out
- 0:39Speaker 1: so nice. Oh yeah, this is a real CD. Yeah yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 1: replicated and.
- 0:46Speaker 2: People can go online and get the autograph version.
- 0:48Speaker 1: The crypstore dot Com.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I like that. Let me ask you something, when you
- 0:52Speaker 2: do something called the cryptstore dot com, are there other
- 0:55Speaker 2: crips that feel some type of way that they're because
- 0:57Speaker 2: you know.
- 0:57Speaker 1: There's there's so many cribs.
- 1:00Speaker 2: There's krypt Cola, there was Mike, there was the crips
- 1:04Speaker 2: that claimed like cryp LLC that tried to suit Nipsy's yea,
- 1:08Speaker 2: I was funny. So you have the crypt Store. Does
- 1:13Speaker 2: anyone owned the crypts? I don't know on the business side,
- 1:16Speaker 2: I don't know. I wouldn't even really worry about it.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I wouldn't even think twice about it.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Seems like a non crypt thing to do the crib store. No, no, no,
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'm saying, like a non crypt thing to do.
- 1:25Speaker 1: To be like, I trademarked that, it's definitely a non
- 1:28Speaker 1: crypt thing to do. I don't know any crypts actively
- 1:31Speaker 1: looking to copyright that term the crips. I just would say,
- 1:37Speaker 1: it's just a bit broad, you know. I think most
- 1:39Speaker 1: cribs look at it like it's just a broad concept.
- 1:41Speaker 1: We all being right in the eye of the storm.
- 1:44Speaker 1: We all understand crippin is a much more diverse thing
- 1:47Speaker 1: and everybody has their own claim to it as far
- 1:50Speaker 1: as Los Angeles goes and now across the world.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I listened to the album. My favorite is the twenty
- 1:57Speaker 2: one STEMI Flow. That's tight. I like us with the Smoke.
- 2:03Speaker 2: One of the guys La Giants had La Giants are
- 2:06Speaker 2: on that record. That was both of them. The first
- 2:09Speaker 2: verse that they did it was super dope. When they
- 2:12Speaker 2: were like Kendall Jenner wouldn't have her lips, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 2:16Speaker 2: that's Joey Joey West.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, and he went right before Cam and
- 2:21Speaker 1: you know that's Cams That's right. We think West Coast
- 2:24Speaker 1: Cam's wheelhouse. Bro, Yeah, that's his wheelhouse. So for Joey
- 2:28Speaker 1: to go, he got off.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah, no, he did his thing. Man was dope. It's
- 2:32Speaker 2: kind of like it feels like a little like obviously
- 2:35Speaker 2: your album, but you obviously have the La Giants heavily
- 2:39Speaker 2: intertwined throughout the project.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they just feit what was going on at the time.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Are they like Blue Division?
- 2:45Speaker 1: No, No, they got they got their own label, Giant Life.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I just market their stuff. Okay, So I mean I
- 2:50Speaker 1: guess they are Blue Division to some degree, but really
- 2:53Speaker 1: it was about helping them build their own thing.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you took a liking to them and wanted to help.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I've been knowing them probably twenty years, you know what
- 3:03Speaker 1: I mean. I've always liked them, But I just think, uh,
- 3:07Speaker 1: God created a space. I'm forgive me for getting all
- 3:09Speaker 1: extra spiritual, but he created the space. And I realized
- 3:11Speaker 1: we had so many things in common this late in
- 3:14Speaker 1: our life, right, and so shit, we just started working
- 3:17Speaker 1: and they was talking about jumping on records, and I
- 3:19Speaker 1: just as long as they had fun and they end
- 3:21Speaker 1: up being like way better you know what I mean
- 3:24Speaker 1: than I ever could have thought. Like I would have
- 3:25Speaker 1: never thought walking into it. We was gonna be making
- 3:28Speaker 1: this many records, right Yeah?
- 3:30Speaker 2: Cause wa you guys. I mean, I feel like you've
- 3:32Speaker 2: been pushing them for a couple of years now.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Guess second year.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Let's swap the court out this tripping yesterday?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Uh, what kind of Mike is that? What kind of
- 3:42Speaker 1: XLR this is?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Oh? Wow? Court? Yeah yeah, but just one of the
- 3:47Speaker 2: other courts. Shit, what was it doing?
- 3:51Speaker 3: It was just cutting out. It was doing it yesterday.
- 4:10Speaker 3: M school who won't retire at hell for sure?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Your road makes the same.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'm buying something, man, Road to give you something.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Do you have a contact. Yeah, I've spent so much
- 4:26Speaker 2: fucking money with Road. I just bought the little Road
- 4:29Speaker 2: duo just for the road. Funny, dude, Road, I'd be watching.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I'm like a road geek. I love their Road backpack.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I was about to buy it last night. Tell him
- 4:37Speaker 2: send me one of their backpacks. Yeah, I gotta.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'll tell Greg you reaching out to have Greg reach
- 4:46Speaker 1: out to you.
- 4:46Speaker 2: The I just bought him. I just bought him. I
- 4:52Speaker 2: ordered him four hundred. I just sent like the last
- 4:56Speaker 2: like seventy hours. I spent a rock with Road.
- 5:00Speaker 1: They've been doing a lot of stuff, all right.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Roland, Okay, we were talking about Mike Cord cutout. We're
- 5:08Speaker 2: talking about LA giants. Obviously they're all over the project. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 2: they just fit. They just fit.
- 5:13Speaker 1: We the same type of It's crazy. It is because
- 5:15Speaker 1: all of these artists I've worked with, I can't say
- 5:18Speaker 1: everybody had as much of an LA experience as I have. Right,
- 5:21Speaker 1: everybody hasn't been a gang banger. If they have, they
- 5:23Speaker 1: haven't low they haven't had a low rider, been on Crenshall.
- 5:27Speaker 1: If they have, you know, maybe they never show dope
- 5:30Speaker 1: if they have, Maybe they never street race, maybe they
- 5:33Speaker 1: never functioned. The LA Johns was like the first acts
- 5:37Speaker 1: that I worked with. To me, that did all of
- 5:38Speaker 1: the same LA things.
- 5:40Speaker 2: That I did, including risk your life for some good Chicken.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, yeah, It's fucking truth, which is which is
- 5:47Speaker 1: song number seven ye Jim Dandy. But it's like that,
- 5:50Speaker 1: it's so many different places. It's funny because that's like
- 5:52Speaker 1: a TV show. I'm finishing up. I rolled and I'm finished.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Shoot Van Lathan, a couple of hombies helping me to
- 5:58Speaker 1: produce it, but dying at your own wrist. That's the
- 6:01Speaker 1: experience in l A.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, there are always people who are like, yo, man,
- 6:05Speaker 2: there's some great because what's the the o G Louisiana
- 6:09Speaker 2: Chicken is where? And it's like if you're over dangerous,
- 6:12Speaker 2: it's dangerous. But that's how it is.
- 6:15Speaker 1: So Jim Dandy's and Denver Line Bloods right. Then you
- 6:18Speaker 1: have Hawkins and Cross Street from the Nicks and Gardens,
- 6:21Speaker 1: the Bonnie and Louise, the best chili cheese frozen Compton
- 6:25Speaker 1: is right in the mob hoood. You just kind of
- 6:27Speaker 1: got to figure out how to get to all of
- 6:29Speaker 1: these places and get away with it.
- 6:30Speaker 2: And when you go, you gotta like really just not
- 6:33Speaker 2: have on your your stuff right like you.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I'm past that people knew who who you are, but
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm saying it's been a long time. They could smell
- 6:43Speaker 1: a crypt like people could smell gang bang and other
- 6:46Speaker 1: gang bankers can smell other gang bangers. That's why if
- 6:48Speaker 1: they like hit you up where you're from, like, oh man,
- 6:52Speaker 1: where who's your mama? Where you live, where you grew up,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and you know they'll smell out they could tell yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I mean I've always had always tells me and I
- 7:01Speaker 2: don't know if this is good advice for bad advice,
- 7:04Speaker 2: but he said, if I ever end up somewhere, and
- 7:06Speaker 2: I have a couple of times where I was getting
- 7:08Speaker 2: gas somewhere and I called a head. This happened, like
- 7:11Speaker 2: he posted it on Instagram because I hit him and
- 7:14Speaker 2: I was like, yo, I'm right here, am I good
- 7:16Speaker 2: to get something to eat? I'm getting gas And he's like,
- 7:18Speaker 2: what the fuck are you doing there? Yeah, but he
- 7:21Speaker 2: had always say He's like, yo, if you end up
- 7:23Speaker 2: somewhere and you get banged on, just start acting like
- 7:26Speaker 2: real frantic, like you're in the middle of a crazy
- 7:27Speaker 2: fight with your girl and you got lost. Like man,
- 7:30Speaker 2: my bad, bro, Sorry, man, fucking fight with my bitch. Bro.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I don't know what.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Because that's a universal masking things, right, we all be like.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Man, I just got caught cheating.
- 7:40Speaker 2: She fucking had me get out the card. You know,
- 7:44Speaker 2: That's what Head says. It's true. It works. It just
- 7:46Speaker 2: act like you're in the middle of a crazy fight
- 7:47Speaker 2: with your girl, you don't know where you're at, and
- 7:51Speaker 2: you know, get on your phone and like it should
- 7:53Speaker 2: be all right. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Now, for the most part, it's okay. I mean, gag
- 7:56Speaker 1: banging is the most underrated part about game and they're
- 8:00Speaker 1: pretty understanding.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Yeah, if they sober. If they're sober like most humans,
- 8:06Speaker 2: that's like, hey, I've been say it's a pretty general
- 8:07Speaker 2: statement for the world.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But game banging it get worse when you know you're drunk,
- 8:11Speaker 1: because you get superpowered and people be charged.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Up, like my wife when she gets mad if she's drunk,
- 8:16Speaker 2: it's over latina.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's Spanish cuss words, Spotish cuss words.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of Spanish cust words. I've been called. Okay,
- 8:25Speaker 2: So if someone gets your CD physically and they look
- 8:28Speaker 2: at the back, you have obviously you got West Coast.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Can you got sugar Free? Shout out the sugar free legend.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I need you to help me get connected with him. Sure,
- 8:37Speaker 2: I got you, I got you. But then you also
- 8:40Speaker 2: have Samuel Jackson and the Notorious Big listed his features. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 2: explain both.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I just feel like it's always weird when you're looking
- 8:51Speaker 1: at a track list and then somebody's voice pop up,
- 8:53Speaker 1: like who the fuck is that? And I just put
- 8:55Speaker 1: that there, like obviously on Spotify and try to infringe
- 8:59Speaker 1: on their audiences. But I wanted people to know that
- 9:01Speaker 1: that voice you hear is gonna be biggies and his
- 9:03Speaker 1: voice is gonna Beael Jackson, Martin Luther King or Samuel Jackson. Okay,
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's fair Cedric Entertainment.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You also have the guy who plays Jesus in the
- 9:12Speaker 2: music video for Johns Shout to Slink Johnson. He did
- 9:16Speaker 2: a really good job on Freddie Gibbs album too. He
- 9:18Speaker 2: kind of was like a he did one of the
- 9:20Speaker 2: skits on his album. Uh, and he did great on
- 9:23Speaker 2: your music video. Yeah. Uh, what's to say something shamful business,
- 9:27Speaker 2: something for the business, which is an ode to Uh.
- 9:33Speaker 1: It's weird because right there's.
- 9:34Speaker 2: A man with the dazzled anklets.
- 9:38Speaker 1: That and just just straight men impeding on women's beauty
- 9:42Speaker 1: standards in the first place, completely topped about.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I tell him all the time, straight man, IRUs my
- 9:47Speaker 2: shooter over there got two earrings in that.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You know what's funny that thirty forty years ago that
- 9:53Speaker 1: would have been looked round at twenty years ago. That's normal.
- 9:56Speaker 2: When I was doing my dad used to always tell
- 9:58Speaker 2: me if you have an hearing on a certain it meant.
- 10:00Speaker 1: That you were gay.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah, right, and if you have both, it's like what
- 10:06Speaker 2: girls do. Yeah, that's true. And then that used to
- 10:09Speaker 2: be that way. That used to be that way. Then
- 10:10Speaker 2: r Kelly kicked that down because he had them things
- 10:12Speaker 2: him and AI. You know what I'm saying. But now
- 10:14Speaker 2: this album in general, because you're listen man, if y'all
- 10:16Speaker 2: don't follow Glasses on Twitter, he's one of the most frustrating,
- 10:19Speaker 2: entertaining follows ever. There are very few things that I
- 10:24Speaker 2: so me and you. It's funny because I'm getting ready
- 10:28Speaker 2: to read you the whole set, and a lot of
- 10:29Speaker 2: my set is going to be dedicated. I bought a
- 10:31Speaker 2: Doggie Style on vinyl, the OG vinyl, and I bought
- 10:35Speaker 2: the OG cassette. I have had three copies of this
- 10:38Speaker 2: sear But you and I are very aligned with some
- 10:42Speaker 2: hip hop opinions, some very very some and most of
- 10:47Speaker 2: most of the ones that we're very passionately dug in
- 10:49Speaker 2: on have to do with Snoop and have to do
- 10:51Speaker 2: with Doggy Style. Because Doggie Sell is the most important hip.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Hop album in my entire life, sure, and it's the
- 10:56Speaker 1: most it's the greatest one of all and.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I I kind of have like a three album where
- 11:02Speaker 2: I could be like, there's this my goat album. Right,
- 11:04Speaker 2: it's nomadic as doggie styles probably get Richard I trying
- 11:06Speaker 2: it in any order that those could be one, two,
- 11:08Speaker 2: or three on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or whatever. But
- 11:12Speaker 2: Doggies out is the most important in my life. That's fair.
- 11:14Speaker 2: And in my opinion, Snoop Dogg somehow, while being the
- 11:19Speaker 2: most famous rapper in.
- 11:20Speaker 1: The world by far, still underrated.
- 11:24Speaker 2: He's underrated, Yes, agreed, How is this a possibility? By
- 11:28Speaker 2: the way, my bucket list interview I hit his guy
- 11:30Speaker 2: keV once a month and I'm like, dude, I can
- 11:33Speaker 2: it's my bucket list all time interview. If I can
- 11:36Speaker 2: interview Snoop, I might cry because I want to explain
- 11:38Speaker 2: to him me getting Doggy style on accident change the
- 11:40Speaker 2: path of my life. But how is Snoop still underrated?
- 11:48Speaker 2: How does that happen?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Well, he's the greatest hip hop artist of all time, right,
- 11:52Speaker 1: but if you favor certain styles, maybe Snoop won't fit
- 11:56Speaker 1: that style. So immediately, he's from the West, so that's
- 11:58Speaker 1: going to immediately take credit from the cornerstone of hip
- 12:03Speaker 1: hop in New York or the East Coast. That's gonna
- 12:05Speaker 1: be a cornerstone issue that he's not from the rights.
- 12:09Speaker 2: He from the West.
- 12:11Speaker 1: His style is like a one off, you know what
- 12:14Speaker 1: I mean. To me, is like a descendant of like
- 12:16Speaker 1: Shorten LLL cooj super smooth, you know what I mean.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But you can see he's such a hip hop kid.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Like first videos, you can see the special ed in
- 12:24Speaker 1: his movements, how he moved and how smooth he was.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I think the majority of it is one, he's from
- 12:32Speaker 1: the West Coast and not from the East. Two would
- 12:36Speaker 1: probably be he's alive. He's alive. That's real, real shit,
- 12:45Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He's alive and that's really important,
- 12:49Speaker 1: which is even greater because you look at him now
- 12:51Speaker 1: and he's probably like still the most recognizable, you know,
- 12:56Speaker 1: rapper on the planet.
- 12:58Speaker 2: But I do say that, I say there's certain artists that,
- 13:01Speaker 2: if God forbid they passed away, would shoot to the
- 13:03Speaker 2: greatest of all. And I really think think that about Kendrick.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Like I tell people, like, yeah, we really kind of
- 13:08Speaker 2: don't appreciate Kendrick like we should, because if he passed
- 13:11Speaker 2: away tomorrow for whatever reason, he's the goat. He's at
- 13:15Speaker 2: least he's at least like solidified in that conversation and
- 13:18Speaker 2: the same way we talk about Pocket.
- 13:20Speaker 1: It's really dope. And I try not to comment on
- 13:22Speaker 1: dot because you know, DoD is my friend and somebody
- 13:25Speaker 1: I love.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You guys have done records together, way way deeper.
- 13:29Speaker 1: You know, Nigga really my partner. But it's like he's
- 13:32Speaker 1: also a generation underminds. So I have to listen to
- 13:35Speaker 1: a lot of younger people tell me versus me giving
- 13:38Speaker 1: because I have niggas that I'm looking like, you know,
- 13:41Speaker 1: Scarface Star. It's like, as much as I love Dodd
- 13:45Speaker 1: is like Scarface, you know he raised me, DoD is like.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Well, I would just say, because like we put Biggie
- 13:50Speaker 2: in certain conversations based on two albums when he was alive.
- 13:54Speaker 2: We got two albums. That's them. Them albums ship that well,
- 13:58Speaker 2: you know those are incredible. But what I'm saying as
- 14:00Speaker 2: if you if you look at just like.
- 14:02Speaker 1: If something happen to die, it'd be frantic. It'd be frantic.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It would probably it would probably reshape hip hop at
- 14:09Speaker 1: that point.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Personally, I think unfortunately people sometimes when they leave prematurely,
- 14:17Speaker 2: they get appreciated more. And I think we've seen that
- 14:20Speaker 2: happen a lot of time and time again over the
- 14:22Speaker 2: last decade, or.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Their spirit can be free to roam about the cabin
- 14:27Speaker 1: because I think a lot of times we don't get
- 14:30Speaker 1: into like even with nip Right, I always felt like
- 14:32Speaker 1: people look at gang bangers and feel like I can't relate,
- 14:35Speaker 1: even though, like you know, Niggas is regular human beings,
- 14:38Speaker 1: but they can't relate. And I think it became so
- 14:41Speaker 1: important for people to get what he was on when
- 14:45Speaker 1: he passed away because it made him mortal. People really
- 14:48Speaker 1: look at game banging like like a he man sport, like,
- 14:50Speaker 1: oh man, if they die, I don't care, or you know,
- 14:53Speaker 1: or they can't die, or they did something to die,
- 14:55Speaker 1: or they imprison you know, versus some dude just really
- 14:59Speaker 1: running a business and having a problem with somebody taking
- 15:01Speaker 1: his life. And I think there's nothing more human than that.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So I think that's what happened with him.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Well back to the Snoop thing. I think what happened
- 15:08Speaker 2: with Snoop was when we look at things to like
- 15:11Speaker 2: a biased hip hop you know, I guess goggle because
- 15:17Speaker 2: for whatever reason, a lot of the taste makers and
- 15:19Speaker 2: hip hop over the years have been very East Coast biased.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I mean for New York.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I think if you think of like Doggy Style, I
- 15:26Speaker 2: think Snoop's early on contractual shit got in the way
- 15:30Speaker 2: of him probably being looked at in the same way
- 15:34Speaker 2: we look at Nas. Or I won't even say Nas
- 15:37Speaker 2: because Nas had some issues with his discography. But let's
- 15:39Speaker 2: say jay Z right because Dog. I think dog Father
- 15:42Speaker 2: was an album I enjoyed, but it wasn't Doggy Style.
- 15:47Speaker 2: And then there was the kind of the disconnection with
- 15:52Speaker 2: death Row, and then he went to No Limit, and
- 15:54Speaker 2: then then that first No Limit album was Forgettable. No
- 15:58Speaker 2: Limit Top Dog was my Ship. I love that.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I love the Last Last Meal.
- 16:01Speaker 2: The Last Meal was my ship. But I think like
- 16:04Speaker 2: it's it's almost like we kind of lost some years
- 16:06Speaker 2: of peak Snoop in the way that we prop back
- 16:09Speaker 2: because obviously the Doctor Dre relationship dissolves, so that that
- 16:14Speaker 2: mattered a lot, you know what I mean. And then
- 16:17Speaker 2: he has this other run in the middle of his
- 16:20Speaker 2: career with Forrell and the Blue Carpet Treatment, Rhythm and Gangster.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Records, Oh my God, that we just like forget about. Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 1: even that whole album he did with Pharrell was it
- 16:31Speaker 1: called Bush. Yeah, it was dope as fuck.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So I just think that like man, for whatever reason,
- 16:37Speaker 2: like we really didn't get to really enjoy like peak
- 16:41Speaker 2: Snoop dog in the way that we should have because
- 16:44Speaker 2: of things that were probably outside of his control, because
- 16:48Speaker 2: there was the murder, the murder trial.
- 16:50Speaker 1: So let's so let's actually, let's actually clear frame. Let's
- 16:54Speaker 1: not talk about what we're reading on Wikipedia. Let's go
- 16:57Speaker 1: by what really happened. Right in nineteen ninety two, we
- 17:01Speaker 1: got the first Snoop Dogg album, No disrespect to Doctor
- 17:03Speaker 1: Dre the Chronic.
- 17:05Speaker 2: That's the first Snoop Dogg album. Fair enough, shout out
- 17:07Speaker 2: to Dre Big Bruh coming out party. He's on fourteen
- 17:11Speaker 2: to the fifteen Records who wrote pretty much the record. Right,
- 17:14Speaker 2: that's the first Snoop album to crime. Then Doggy Style drops.
- 17:18Speaker 2: That's ninety four, right, it's ninety three, ninety three, Okay.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Then Doggie Style is such a big deal with sales
- 17:24Speaker 1: eight hundred and seventy thousand albums in the first week,
- 17:26Speaker 1: eight hundred ninety thousand in the second week. Right when
- 17:28Speaker 1: fifty came it did again, Right, that happens. It's so impactful.
- 17:35Speaker 1: It forces a change on the whole game. It turned
- 17:38Speaker 1: like people get mad when I say this, but Tupac
- 17:41Speaker 1: had to become more of a gangster rapper because of
- 17:42Speaker 1: this album. Yep, that's why you gonna get the thug
- 17:44Speaker 1: life because of dog Paan you go get some forty crips,
- 17:47Speaker 1: right you. Ice Cube has to become more of a songwriter.
- 17:51Speaker 1: He was already a g a decent songwriter, but he
- 17:54Speaker 1: was a fucking masterful P and MC. But then he
- 17:57Speaker 1: has to kind of structure style to make more records.
- 18:00Speaker 1: His dog is destroying, destroying everybody everything on the radio,
- 18:03Speaker 1: right boom, so like he shifts the game like he totally,
- 18:07Speaker 1: which is what the classic is. It shifts the game
- 18:09Speaker 1: right and you just boom. Then it's such an impactful album.
- 18:14Speaker 1: One song spawns a whole nother album. In ninety four,
- 18:17Speaker 1: Murder was the case. Yeah, that's so much the shit.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It selles triple platinum, right, So that's ninety two, the
- 18:24Speaker 1: chronic right, which is a Snoop album. Ninety three, which
- 18:27Speaker 1: is Doggystown, which is obviously Snoop's debut. Ninety four, which
- 18:31Speaker 1: is Murder was a case that's off a Snoop album
- 18:33Speaker 1: ninety five, his group comes out. Yeah, he's on seven
- 18:38Speaker 1: to eight of those records. Right, dog Food Dogs.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Album, Right, I think I think it's a classic album.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It's for sure a West Coast classic. I think it's
- 18:48Speaker 2: a classic album.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't even I'm not gonna debate that, but we're.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Gonna get to some debates about that. We are, guess
- 18:53Speaker 2: we are.
- 18:53Speaker 1: But so we got shipped ninety two, ninety three, ninety four,
- 18:57Speaker 1: ninety five, Dre's leaving, So Dre leaves, So DJ Pooh
- 19:02Speaker 1: steps in and finishes attempts to finish dog Father in
- 19:07Speaker 1: ninety six. So what happened is we actually did get
- 19:11Speaker 1: to enjoy Snoop. We got Snoop carried death ro for sure,
- 19:16Speaker 1: but on his back, Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 19:19Speaker 1: And then POC came And that's why I always get
- 19:21Speaker 1: upset at that argument. Pop was jealous. Snoop was jealous
- 19:24Speaker 1: of Pop. Man, this nigga been carrying the world's greatest,
- 19:27Speaker 1: most impactful record label. Cash Money is probably hip hop's
- 19:30Speaker 1: greatest label. But yeah, he was carrying the most impactful
- 19:33Speaker 1: label at that time. You know what I mean of
- 19:36Speaker 1: all time as far as im impact. Yeah, right, because
- 19:39Speaker 1: this is the birth of gangster rap at the High Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And then the tree. I always say, pep back. If
- 19:43Speaker 2: you look at the Doctor Dre Tree, look at the
- 19:45Speaker 2: Snoop Tree, look at the Sugar Night Tree.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Everything that right, so right, So he carries him on
- 19:51Speaker 1: his back and then finally Snoop right, so Pop comes
- 19:53Speaker 1: home and then boom, Now you got another star. It's
- 19:57Speaker 1: like the Warriors and Kevin Durant. You get a another star.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You get this guy from the Thunder n you know
- 20:04Speaker 1: what I mean, Like not like that, but it's like
- 20:06Speaker 1: Katie from the Thunder coming to the Warriors, right right, right,
- 20:09Speaker 1: Snoop Steph Curry had just read every day right, so
- 20:11Speaker 1: boom and then right, So then he comes over and
- 20:14Speaker 1: now you're like, oh, I ain't got to do all
- 20:16Speaker 1: the work. And then Pot comes and y'all give him
- 20:19Speaker 1: all the records, y'all help, y'all give him the best beat, y'all,
- 20:22Speaker 1: and he puts up he puts up them nigga out
- 20:24Speaker 1: there and finals MVP.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Easy works.
- 20:29Speaker 1: But Snoop Steph Curry, but yeah, right, and he's just
- 20:31Speaker 1: like do your thing, yeah, and then he still has
- 20:34Speaker 1: to put out another album in ninety six, So we
- 20:37Speaker 1: get albums from Snoop in ninety two, ninety three, ninety four,
- 20:40Speaker 1: ninety five, and Dogfather in ninety six. So when dre
- 20:43Speaker 1: is leaving Pock Dies Sins Francis Madness, still a Snoop
- 20:48Speaker 1: album is needed to you know, carry the manner because
- 20:51Speaker 1: you got mcavelly at this point. So those three records
- 20:54Speaker 1: all lies on me mcavelly and Dogfather. Doll Father produced
- 20:58Speaker 1: by DJ Pool does most of the heavy. They don't
- 21:01Speaker 1: really get a chance to finish it because we gotta
- 21:03Speaker 1: get this album out, pop past, gotta get zual. We
- 21:07Speaker 1: always got.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Enough of Snoop.
- 21:08Speaker 1: It's literally just it's like survivors, Like it's survivor's guilt,
- 21:13Speaker 1: Like he lives a survivor's lifestyle where he survived the
- 21:16Speaker 1: craziest ship and he's right here. So we don't really
- 21:19Speaker 1: appreciate him.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we just I think when we think
- 21:22Speaker 2: of like Snoop albums, we think of he doesn't get
- 21:27Speaker 2: credit for the Chronic.
- 21:29Speaker 1: But if you think about it, the song, the main
- 21:30Speaker 1: song from the Chronic that we celebrate who's on the
- 21:33Speaker 1: song Snoop. And that's how it's been the whole time.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I don't disagree.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Even a dog food what's the main song.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Snoops on it? Yeah, great, great video, cost a lot
- 21:44Speaker 2: of man just carrying all the weight. Man, So I
- 21:47Speaker 2: would say I would just say, like I just think
- 21:49Speaker 2: that like unfortunately, and and and this is kind of
- 21:52Speaker 2: like a very convenient to look at things. It's like, damn,
- 21:58Speaker 2: the what if of like if they would have kept
- 22:02Speaker 2: somehow kept that nucleus together for like another two or
- 22:06Speaker 2: three years, you know what I'm saying, Like.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Something I'm gonna say, Man, it was born out of trauma,
- 22:11Speaker 1: Like death Row was born out of trauma. It was
- 22:13Speaker 1: born out of a situation with Eazy E, you know
- 22:16Speaker 1: what I mean. That probably wasn't a real enough situation
- 22:20Speaker 1: for it to for them to break up, but it
- 22:22Speaker 1: was born out of like like all street urban culture,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So we got what we got.
- 22:28Speaker 1: We just got to be grateful we got that four
- 22:30Speaker 1: years of incredibleness and a lot more after that, because
- 22:33Speaker 1: we did get the Dazz album. That was pretty cool,
- 22:35Speaker 1: great album to da Man, also one of the greatest
- 22:38Speaker 1: paper I'm mad we never got the corrupt produced Doctor
- 22:41Speaker 1: dre album. True should mean the Doctor Dre produced corrupt.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Then what's crazy about corrupt is like somehow like I
- 22:50Speaker 2: think streets is the mothers. Like, I mean one of
- 22:53Speaker 2: the most underrated.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Fred, fucking Fred, fucking Fred.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Oh that fucking album is so hard upsince that like
- 23:01Speaker 2: the ship Fred does Crazy Fred is just nasty and
- 23:04Speaker 2: he really don't get enough credit.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Butsonically I had to call him probably about five months.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I was like, oh you, like really, I don't know
- 23:12Speaker 1: why are you doing that? But even his sonics separate
- 23:15Speaker 1: completely different. So I think Snoop is just disrespected because
- 23:19Speaker 1: he's from the West. And two he survived, and I
- 23:23Speaker 1: think his level of celebrity got to a place where
- 23:31Speaker 1: most people stopped looking at him as a rapper and
- 23:34Speaker 1: almost started looking at him more as like a cultural
- 23:36Speaker 1: figure in it and like just the entertainer, Which is
- 23:38Speaker 1: why I say he's the greatest hip hop artist because
- 23:40Speaker 1: when you understand hip hop and street urban culture, there's
- 23:43Speaker 1: no greater representation of culture than Snoop Dogg. Yeah, like
- 23:46Speaker 1: Snoop is like this nigga's a crip that was crip
- 23:49Speaker 1: walking on.
- 23:50Speaker 2: He's that well. I mean he's done things that no
- 23:51Speaker 2: artists like no rapper.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Thirty not a hip hop artist, maybe like a Drake,
- 23:57Speaker 1: somebody who's not of the coaches.
- 24:00Speaker 2: No, no, he's not.
- 24:01Speaker 1: We're not gonna do that. He's not of the street
- 24:03Speaker 1: urban culture. You can't listen to music.
- 24:05Speaker 2: So is Eminem not a hip hop artist?
- 24:06Speaker 1: He's from Detroit, He's from the ghetto. Drake is a
- 24:11Speaker 1: from a middle class Canadian neighbors.
- 24:13Speaker 2: So if someone comes from a middle class family, no,
- 24:17Speaker 2: so you have so you're telling me, in your eyes,
- 24:19Speaker 2: you have to be.
- 24:20Speaker 1: From a street, urban community.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yes, in order to be considered hip hop.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Hip hop is the first genre of music. Forget me,
- 24:28Speaker 1: because I know everybody's listened to pop that God, you
- 24:30Speaker 1: can't kick me. It's not the point. I'm saying. Hip
- 24:33Speaker 1: hop is street, urban artistic expression.
- 24:36Speaker 2: So didn't well, I mean, we could probably really nitpick
- 24:42Speaker 2: this this discussion, and then.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I'm going, yeah, I'm going Drake's saying Drake.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Is kind of pop. That's a different statement. But somebody
- 24:52Speaker 2: in my high five okay, top five, I've had that,
- 24:55Speaker 2: and I'm glad you said. Kanye West did not grow
- 24:58Speaker 2: up in the hood.
- 24:59Speaker 1: And I've been thinking this whole time. His mother was
- 25:01Speaker 1: a teacher, and I've been thinking this whole time. I
- 25:03Speaker 1: was like, is he really because I think as much
- 25:05Speaker 1: as he's in my top five and I appreciate him.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I think he is the problem. Do you think Diddy
- 25:10Speaker 2: is hip hop puff Daddy? No, Puff is an executive,
- 25:14Speaker 2: So you don't think Puff Daddy is hip hop? No.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I think Puff put out hip hop X.
- 25:18Speaker 2: But he's hip hop. I don't know if he's responsible
- 25:21Speaker 2: for so much history in Jimmy Ivien. Yeah, but Diddy's
- 25:27Speaker 2: didd He's produce records really, yeah, in the same way
- 25:32Speaker 2: Quincy Jones has produced records. Yes, really, he puts the
- 25:35Speaker 2: right people together.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Forgive me forgiving me Diddy Cuff Puff my bad. Look,
- 25:41Speaker 1: I don't know, but Kanye has been my greatest dilemma.
- 25:43Speaker 1: But if you think about it right, this is gonna
- 25:45Speaker 1: sound crazy. So Kanye is in my top five because
- 25:48Speaker 1: I love you know, I think the world of Kanye. Yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 1: there were times I've expressed it. Charlotte Mane. I think
- 25:53Speaker 1: Kanye is a prophet for living, So I think this
- 25:56Speaker 1: much of him. But if you think about it, his
- 25:58Speaker 1: first single, he got into a car crash, great record,
- 26:02Speaker 1: like all American car crash with insurance.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but what's wrong with that?
- 26:06Speaker 1: That's nothing. It's like Madonna could have made that song.
- 26:09Speaker 2: It's not true.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yes, it's a middle class song about a man getting
- 26:12Speaker 1: to a crash and then when it's surance.
- 26:13Speaker 2: So you're saying they can't be middle class raps.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yes, Drake is a fantastic rapper. Fantastic NonStop is my shit,
- 26:22Speaker 1: but that don't mean they are hip hop, street urban culture. Now,
- 26:26Speaker 1: a lot of people disagree with me. Some people are like, A, well,
- 26:28Speaker 1: long as you practice what them niggas do, then you're
- 26:30Speaker 1: one of those niggas. But you know I feel about that.
- 26:32Speaker 1: But my point is what Kanye right.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Wouldn't kick out like half a hip hop fast that
- 26:37Speaker 2: you'd say you aren't hip hop fast?
- 26:39Speaker 1: Because I tell you why, because look what happened to
- 26:42Speaker 1: rock and roll. It ain't a nigga insight. Look what
- 26:46Speaker 1: happened to jazz Because soon as you start letting everybody
- 26:51Speaker 1: in the door, guess who getting kicked out first.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I don't think that's ever gonna happen.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Guaranteed they've tried that, it's happened. It's it's only been
- 27:00Speaker 1: fifty years. They've been putting out records for forty it's
- 27:02Speaker 1: guaranteed to happen.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I'm not sure there's Uh. You know what's funny is
- 27:08Speaker 2: I've always thought to myself like, who's the white, you know,
- 27:11Speaker 2: like who's the white that's like the white of whites
- 27:13Speaker 2: and hip hop that like can actually make this thing
- 27:15Speaker 2: work like and like sustainable. Long time, let's get rid
- 27:19Speaker 2: of Eminem because Eminem is an alien. Yeah, he's like
- 27:22Speaker 2: an anomaly.
- 27:23Speaker 1: In thirty forty years ago, Emine would have been a
- 27:25Speaker 1: punk rock.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It's Eminem by the way, right, if you were to
- 27:27Speaker 2: say it's eminent.
- 27:28Speaker 1: But we had this conversation hip hop and punk rock
- 27:33Speaker 1: are brothers, step brother, right right, same father, oppression and poverty,
- 27:39Speaker 1: different mothers, the area, the earth.
- 27:42Speaker 2: So you so because because this is there's a lot
- 27:46Speaker 2: of artists who have families that went to college, that
- 27:49Speaker 2: had middle class jobs, lob people from together and that
- 27:51Speaker 2: went to college. No had middle class, middle class areas
- 27:54Speaker 2: Little YACHTI yeah, but would you really you look at
- 27:58Speaker 2: Little Yady and be like, oh, that's a hip hop guy.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Yeah? No, you just only feel like that because he raps.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I think I think he's hip hop for sure.
- 28:05Speaker 1: But I'm saying because he raps, and I also.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Think he's also contributed a lot to culture. He's he
- 28:11Speaker 2: wrote City Girls Act Up. He kind of kicked off
- 28:13Speaker 2: low Key this.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Whole, so did Jimmy Iving. So it's a lot of
- 28:16Speaker 1: other people, but not in.
- 28:17Speaker 2: The same way Jimmy What song did Jimmy Ivan write?
- 28:21Speaker 1: But don't that's not again, you're you're there's people outside
- 28:24Speaker 1: of the culture who have wrote cultured song.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Okay, let me ask you a question. You're so because
- 28:30Speaker 2: because I feel that there has been.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And I'm not saying I know of Lil Yachtie's hipp
- 28:35Speaker 1: I don't know little there has been an uptick in
- 28:39Speaker 1: completely and what it's a complete takeover of middle class
- 28:43Speaker 1: people ever since the blog ever happened. Yess soon as
- 28:46Speaker 1: college kids started dictating what was cool within street urban culture,
- 28:50Speaker 1: you've seen the change because it became the guys that
- 28:52Speaker 1: they could deal with.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but to me, that's still hip hop. That's not
- 28:57Speaker 2: that's his music.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Hip Hop is the culture. Like if you don't talk
- 29:02Speaker 1: to the culture, if you don't talk like us.
- 29:04Speaker 2: And there's the five elements of hip hop.
- 29:06Speaker 1: No, no, no, those are expressions how you express the culture.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So I just think that like if you look at
- 29:13Speaker 2: a guy, I'm trying to think of a guy, you
- 29:14Speaker 2: said the bloggers. I'm just trying to think.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Kanye is the greatest conversation and as one of my
- 29:18Speaker 1: favorite guys and as one of your favorite guys.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and Kanye is probably the most influential artists of
- 29:22Speaker 2: the last I don't.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Know thirty years, who did the influence people. Travis Scott
- 29:28Speaker 1: is hip hop middle class people. I don't even think
- 29:30Speaker 1: Travis Scott considers himself hip hop. That's not true, I don't.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I don't think. Did you listen to the drums on
- 29:35Speaker 2: the new album again?
- 29:36Speaker 1: Drums are not exclusive to hip hop. I just you know,
- 29:40Speaker 1: they've been having hard drums and house and a lot
- 29:41Speaker 1: of other stuff that hip hop birth. Okay, so outside
- 29:45Speaker 1: of But I'm not saying again, I haven't studied all
- 29:47Speaker 1: of those guys to say their shit specifically. I've been
- 29:50Speaker 1: saying this about Kanye, and I think that's why.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I mean, Kanye did influence a sound that kind of
- 29:58Speaker 2: I mean him and just blaze his fingerprints all over
- 30:01Speaker 2: the blueprint.
- 30:01Speaker 1: It's really Blink though. It's who bink Well Bank started it.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Everybody start following Bank.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Okay, So if you listen to the Blueprint, right, and
- 30:10Speaker 2: then after the Blueprint everyone started sampling. But it's all
- 30:13Speaker 2: based off Bink.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Okay, this is it's important to notice truth, and they'll
- 30:19Speaker 1: all I think that's.
- 30:20Speaker 2: An opinion, though, No, this is a fact. I don't
- 30:22Speaker 2: think you can say that, Like just Blaze and Kanye
- 30:24Speaker 2: weren't chopping up samples before Bank.
- 30:26Speaker 1: They wasn't doing it the way they were doing it
- 30:27Speaker 1: on a Blueprint before Bank. That style, that's that sound
- 30:31Speaker 1: that was birthed out of that is Bink.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Well, the credit goes to Bank. I'm saying the general
- 30:38Speaker 2: public would credit the Blueprint as the album that kicked
- 30:42Speaker 2: off a sonic wave of like people sampling. Sure, like
- 30:46Speaker 2: I pitch samples again again.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I'm with you, I'm all in. I'm just saying there's
- 30:51Speaker 1: a fact and then there's an ignorance.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Okay, So are you telling me Kanye is not hip hop?
- 30:56Speaker 1: I'm telling you that's that's been my dilemma, right because
- 30:58Speaker 1: because he is hip hop. Well, this is the problem, right,
- 31:01Speaker 1: Kanye West, But that doesn't mean anything. That don't mean
- 31:04Speaker 1: First off, nobody in fucking hip hop put Marilyn Monroe
- 31:07Speaker 1: up on a fucking wall as a kid.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I don't understand the correlations Monroe.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Because he talked about putting up a poster because of
- 31:15Speaker 1: Marilyn Monroe on his wall.
- 31:17Speaker 2: What's wrong with that?
- 31:17Speaker 1: Why the fuck would a nigga from where we're from
- 31:19Speaker 1: put up Marilyn Moroe on they walk because they think
- 31:21Speaker 1: she's hot. No, none of us think she's hot. That
- 31:24Speaker 1: you're speaking for a lot of people from the ghetto.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I speak for all of us. I'm sure a lot
- 31:28Speaker 2: of people in the ghetto would clap her name.
- 31:30Speaker 1: None of us. Yes, we would anybody's, but we wouldn't
- 31:32Speaker 1: think she's hot. It's too many hot fucking sisters from
- 31:35Speaker 1: that time, he compares Kim Kardashian to her, like.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but Kim kay is is littly. You don't You
- 31:41Speaker 2: don't know she's not. You think Kim Ky's level?
- 31:44Speaker 1: No, she was okay, she was a regular.
- 31:46Speaker 2: You think she was okay?
- 31:47Speaker 1: Yeah, she was a regular. They used to have them
- 31:49Speaker 1: at Glendale by the Barrel.
- 31:52Speaker 2: There was Kim by the barrel.
- 31:54Speaker 1: That's that's the normal fine girl in Glendale. That's the
- 31:57Speaker 1: normal fine girl in Glendale.
- 31:58Speaker 2: When you go to the scenes, I mean Glendale a lot. Yeah,
- 32:02Speaker 2: I live in they just don't have a plastic Well,
- 32:05Speaker 2: I just don't see I've seen. I don't see by
- 32:08Speaker 2: the barrel.
- 32:08Speaker 1: I seen him by the.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Shouts of the beautiful Armenian women.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Who are They're great, They're fun, and yes they are
- 32:15Speaker 1: they Kim Kardashian, Fine, all original Kim Kardashian.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I'm not this verse. I don't know what's going on.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I'm not saying that there aren't some Kim Kardashian, find
- 32:22Speaker 2: a lot of them. I'm just saying that I think
- 32:24Speaker 2: that you're you're overstating your part.
- 32:26Speaker 1: No, No, I'm telling you the true. Listen, if you
- 32:29Speaker 1: think about it right, listen to every other thing you
- 32:32Speaker 1: loved about hip hop growing up right, the struggle, the ideas,
- 32:36Speaker 1: even how they party.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And I liked, Hey, you know what I liked? First
- 32:40Speaker 2: of all, I loved all your Style, sure, and the
- 32:42Speaker 2: other album that really I like the kind of like
- 32:45Speaker 2: the horror, demonic mystique of bone Thugs and harmony. Theluigi
- 32:55Speaker 2: was the melody. And you know what else?
- 32:59Speaker 1: I like what they had the best harmony since Beast Boys,
- 33:03Speaker 1: probably fantastic harmony.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I mean, I can tell you like from Creeping on
- 33:08Speaker 2: a Come Up to East nineteen ninety nine art of
- 33:11Speaker 2: war Man God Bone again somehow criminally underrated super Uh.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I also really enjoyed Brother Lynch Hung and It's just Dope.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I got that nigga for about fo ESEs. I had
- 33:23Speaker 2: to get dirty on Brother Lynch. I always give props
- 33:26Speaker 2: to his album Season of the Sickness. It was a
- 33:29Speaker 2: very dark album where he talked about eating.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I like Lynch, Yeah, Lynce is and that. But the
- 33:35Speaker 1: point I'm saying back to Yate his Brother Lynch hip hop,
- 33:40Speaker 1: I would imagine, so he's from like a really fucked
- 33:42Speaker 1: up get on sack.
- 33:43Speaker 2: But him talking about eating children. But I think he
- 33:47Speaker 2: also could not be the something that a normal dude
- 33:51Speaker 2: from the hood would talk about.
- 33:52Speaker 1: It's not coo. I mean, he's like, he's like nigir
- 33:56Speaker 1: Alan poet.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Also also Bone Thugs in Harmony talking about playing around
- 34:00Speaker 2: with a Wuiji board and talking to That's not that
- 34:04Speaker 2: far fetched. But that's not you. You used the Maryland
- 34:08Speaker 2: min Roe post on Wall.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I'm saying, let's start with Kanye growing up in middle
- 34:12Speaker 1: class area and he did Chicago, Okay, so that's different
- 34:15Speaker 1: than Bone.
- 34:16Speaker 2: And boning Cleveland, brother Lynch and sat them.
- 34:19Speaker 1: People are from places with houses with thirteen dollars for sure, right,
- 34:22Speaker 1: So that's different.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Houses might have been thirteen dollars in Chicago, the houses is.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Thirteen dollars in Cleveland, right, And you can get hours
- 34:27Speaker 1: in Cleveland right now for about seven thousand. Let me
- 34:30Speaker 1: know what flex I got you? Your bone grew up
- 34:32Speaker 1: at Yeah, shout out to the cavaliers. So so what
- 34:36Speaker 1: my point I'm saying to you is, I'm not I
- 34:38Speaker 1: haven't came to a great conclusion. It's Kanye West, so
- 34:41Speaker 1: it's hard to challenge that type of legacy. But if
- 34:43Speaker 1: you think about it, But if you think about it, right,
- 34:46Speaker 1: his first song is about a car crash where he
- 34:48Speaker 1: had insurance. But what got everybody is the fucking black
- 34:53Speaker 1: music he sampled in Sha Ka Khan that carries the story.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Kanye is the best at using black mut and finding
- 35:01Speaker 1: a place where he meets black people at Remember, hip
- 35:04Speaker 1: hop is almost like Kanye makes He's a black artist, yes,
- 35:08Speaker 1: but but when you say black, right, it's as simple
- 35:10Speaker 1: as he's a black man making music.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 35:13Speaker 1: But he's not the first artist to sample black artists, no, no,
- 35:17Speaker 1: But he's he's fantastic at it. Yeah, when I tell
- 35:20Speaker 1: you what he does with that sha Ka Khan. And
- 35:23Speaker 1: but if you listen to a lot of his songs,
- 35:25Speaker 1: even the depth of his struggle is very Eddie Winslow.
- 35:30Speaker 2: But you know what it was. What was dope about
- 35:31Speaker 2: Kanye is that his struggle was relatable to.
- 35:34Speaker 1: White people, to a lot of people, to mainstream America.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Because if you could talk about how you hated working
- 35:39Speaker 2: at the mall, at the Gap.
- 35:41Speaker 1: That's like main No okay, but but but imagine if
- 35:46Speaker 1: Snoop's first album is about him talking about having a
- 35:48Speaker 1: problem working.
- 35:49Speaker 2: But that's what made Kanye different was he was a
- 35:52Speaker 2: fucking pop artist.
- 35:54Speaker 1: You could relate to him, oh versus you couldn't relate
- 35:56Speaker 1: to none of these.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Not a pop artist. He was making some backpack dope ship,
- 36:00Speaker 2: but he was talking about backpack to work at them.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Because this is the minority of the of everybody aren't
- 36:07Speaker 2: in gangs and aren't involved in street life and not.
- 36:11Speaker 2: But whether or not they grew up around it, would
- 36:13Speaker 2: you would you at least say that most people, period,
- 36:18Speaker 2: no matter what the race of them or the or
- 36:20Speaker 2: where they're from, are not tied up in street life
- 36:24Speaker 2: are civilians? Is that fair?
- 36:27Speaker 1: Most they're not from the ghetto.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Okay, people from the ghetto have normal jobs at the mall.
- 36:32Speaker 1: No, they don't have them at the mall, but they
- 36:33Speaker 1: do have normal jobs.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Are you trying to tell me people from the ghetto
- 36:36Speaker 2: don't work at the mall?
- 36:37Speaker 1: Yes, but that's not that's a wild thing to say that.
- 36:39Speaker 2: It's a very wild blanket state. You're pushing it further, right,
- 36:43Speaker 2: Is what I'm saying is of us? Were Kanye made
- 36:46Speaker 2: and made music for the normal person? That's what pop music?
- 36:51Speaker 2: No is no pop music. Listen, this is what you
- 36:55Speaker 2: gotta understand. Is that not what pop music is?
- 36:57Speaker 1: Because for their every day they first know.
- 37:00Speaker 2: But you're trying to You're you're essentially trying to say, well,
- 37:04Speaker 2: Kanye was making music for uh, privileged people who had
- 37:09Speaker 2: normal jobs. I did not.
- 37:10Speaker 1: First off, yes, it's not you're not privileged. You have
- 37:13Speaker 1: a normal job that makes you mainstream American.
- 37:15Speaker 2: But even people let's say, from where you're from, right,
- 37:18Speaker 2: but even now you're talking about I'm asking you that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: So people from where you're from, right, You're let's say
- 37:23Speaker 2: your a neighborhood, what percentage of them are actively throughout
- 37:28Speaker 2: their life practicing involvement in let's say, street culture, illegal activity, gangs.
- 37:35Speaker 2: We all talk the same way, so that I'm not
- 37:36Speaker 2: talking about talk I'm talking about I'm talking about how
- 37:39Speaker 2: you get your money, the lifestyle you live. You can't
- 37:42Speaker 2: pick the part of a culture you enjoy, right because
- 37:44Speaker 2: day I saw this culture.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Right, But it don't mean that. It don't mean somebody.
- 37:47Speaker 1: There's probably people from your areas. But we had to
- 37:50Speaker 1: get up and go to work and do their normal
- 37:52Speaker 1: job at homies that got jobs that were Kanye's shit,
- 37:54Speaker 1: and was like, Yo, this dude's talking about working a
- 37:58Speaker 1: fucking overtime shift at a rech tail store.
- 38:01Speaker 2: This is fucking pop music. No, it's not. That's normal
- 38:05Speaker 2: middle class shit. That's what pop America is. So you're
- 38:09Speaker 2: trying to say Kanye wasn't making hip hop.
- 38:11Speaker 1: That's not what I'm saying.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I have.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I told you, I've been having this dilemma in my
- 38:14Speaker 1: mind to say so.
- 38:16Speaker 2: So you make a lot of blanket statements. No, I'm
- 38:18Speaker 2: giving you really consistent statements. Considering all of your statements.
- 38:23Speaker 2: According to your logic, Kanye is not hip hop.
- 38:24Speaker 1: I'm thinking about it.
- 38:25Speaker 2: I've been.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I've been on this play because I've been saying for
- 38:27Speaker 1: years he's hip hop. But then I think about it,
- 38:29Speaker 1: I'm like, that's why Black America's disconnected from him right now.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I think they also might be disconnected because he said
- 38:35Speaker 2: some wild shit.
- 38:36Speaker 1: No he did. He said the same shit first day,
- 38:38Speaker 1: and he has been wrapped up in a very unrelatable culture,
- 38:45Speaker 1: whether it's the Kardashians, whether it's you know, why huh,
- 38:49Speaker 1: because he ain't that type of guy.
- 38:52Speaker 2: But he wasn't that type of No, he wasn't. He
- 38:54Speaker 2: was just doing it over Shaka Khan and the other thing. Well,
- 39:00Speaker 2: that's what I'm starting to believe. It's like he always
- 39:03Speaker 2: been this crazy nigga. Kanye is like sold you think
- 39:06Speaker 2: Playboy Cardi's hip hop?
- 39:08Speaker 1: No, but he got some dope shit the first But
- 39:12Speaker 1: all that weird devil shit, I just slap a little cuz,
- 39:14Speaker 1: Like all that whole as ship they doing with the Devil,
- 39:16Speaker 1: that'll be your cuzby.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I don't like that.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate that you love little stough No no, no,
- 39:21Speaker 1: nas is cool because he just fake gay. I told
- 39:23Speaker 1: you you're gonna see one day it's gonna come out,
- 39:26Speaker 1: Cuz fake gay, mean he's playing for the money. No, No,
- 39:32Speaker 1: I don't believe cousins gay. I believe they paying Couzin.
- 39:36Speaker 1: He know his playing, he running his plate. Why would
- 39:39Speaker 1: you not. It's niggas who do it. A gangster rap
- 39:41Speaker 1: is niggas who do it like they fake d boys.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Why would you not be fake gay for money, especially
- 39:46Speaker 1: if you're young.
- 39:47Speaker 2: There were people been fake money then it has been
- 39:50Speaker 2: people fake gay for money, fake gay. Yeah, you act
- 39:55Speaker 2: gay for people like a fake gangster rapper, like a
- 39:58Speaker 2: nigga who act like he a gang but he's not.
- 40:01Speaker 2: I think there's probably more fake straight people than fake
- 40:04Speaker 2: gay people.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I would agree, Yeah, I would agree for sure degree,
- 40:08Speaker 1: But that don't mean Little non X is not straight.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I think Little is Uh is gay. I don't believe that.
- 40:14Speaker 2: And I think it's it's gay facing you think he's gay.
- 40:17Speaker 2: I know we talked about this last time, but I
- 40:19Speaker 2: just don't know if that's a that's I don't know
- 40:21Speaker 2: if that's the that's that's what, that's what my way.
- 40:23Speaker 2: If he really wanted to like lean into something, he
- 40:26Speaker 2: would have just been the country artist.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Couldn't you know that's not gonna work? No, white folks
- 40:30Speaker 1: ain't fucking with that, and they grow.
- 40:31Speaker 2: They did win old town roads, they didn't.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I don't know, money man, where's he from's money man?
- 40:43Speaker 2: Money man?
- 40:44Speaker 1: I don't, I haven't, I haven't so listened. So first off,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I can't talk about Travis Scott. But I think Travis
- 40:49Speaker 1: Scott hastied his sound. But I think he defines his
- 40:52Speaker 1: sound as uh, what is like rave or what's the
- 40:56Speaker 1: age rage?
- 40:57Speaker 2: No, he's making hip hoppen, but.
- 40:59Speaker 1: He's the find his music. Uzzi defines his music as
- 41:02Speaker 1: rock and roll.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I think Uzzie defines himself as a rock star that
- 41:06Speaker 2: makes rock music. No, he doesn't make rock music yet.
- 41:09Speaker 1: But again this is my point. See see how you
- 41:11Speaker 1: see how you lay and claim to that. See how
- 41:13Speaker 1: you won't let niggas beat nothing else but rappers because
- 41:15Speaker 1: they Dog's.
- 41:15Speaker 2: A rock star.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but no he's not.
- 41:17Speaker 2: What do you mean he's not. He's Snoop Dogg. He's
- 41:19Speaker 2: in the rock and roll Hall of Fame.
- 41:21Speaker 1: He's in every hall of fame.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yes, because he's in a human he's a hip pop star.
- 41:24Speaker 2: He's a rock star. He's a pop star.
- 41:25Speaker 1: He is the guy.
- 41:27Speaker 2: But let me make my point before we get close. Listen, Yo,

- 45:10Speaker 1: I haven't studied none of those other guys, so I
- 45:12Speaker 1: can't comment per se on YACHTI because I don't know
- 45:14Speaker 1: YACHTI story. I don't know Trash story. I don't know them.
- 45:17Speaker 1: But I don't think they define themselves, and I think
- 45:20Speaker 1: they will. Maybe Yadi would be.
- 45:22Speaker 2: The closest person that could consider himself hip hop or
- 45:23Speaker 2: would well. His dad was a big photographer. He did
- 45:27Speaker 2: photos for Dead Press tight, but he didn't grow up
- 45:31Speaker 2: like like from what I understand, he grew up like
- 45:33Speaker 2: with you know, like a middle class kid.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'm not saying I don't. I don't know
- 45:37Speaker 1: if I had to really study if I say that Trav,
- 45:39Speaker 1: I think he defines his music as something else, and
- 45:41Speaker 1: I think Uzi defines his music and his existence at
- 45:43Speaker 1: something else. But I think because they use rap, immediately
- 45:47Speaker 1: everybody classify somebody black and rapping as hip hop, and
- 45:51Speaker 1: it's fucking fucked up. If Uzi, as black people created
- 45:56Speaker 1: rock and roll, right, he can go in and define
- 45:58Speaker 1: it as he wants. That's his claim to write. You
- 46:00Speaker 1: can't look at Nirvana or No. U two and then
- 46:03Speaker 1: say he gotta make music like that. We did it
- 46:05Speaker 1: the first time, so we could redefine it the second time.
- 46:07Speaker 1: It's fair of him to do that. But what I'm
- 46:09Speaker 1: saying is back to the point we're saying in my neighborhood,
- 46:13Speaker 1: being in street urban life is not necessarily, you know,
- 46:17Speaker 1: being a criminal. Like there's a lot of people like
- 46:20Speaker 1: LLL wasn't a criminal. There's people who grew up in
- 46:22Speaker 1: the same culture.
- 46:23Speaker 2: But what I'm saying, though, is that there are people
- 46:24Speaker 2: who aren't criminals who maybe they're they're gravitating. They gravitated
- 46:30Speaker 2: towards college dropout because oh this is something different, this
- 46:34Speaker 2: is this is I liked it.
- 46:35Speaker 1: As a criminal, But that's not the point. I like
- 46:37Speaker 1: Michael J. I like, I like a pop artist.
- 46:39Speaker 2: But I'm still like if I like to me as
- 46:41Speaker 2: somebody who was worried the best Buy when I was sixteen,
- 46:46Speaker 2: I was like, oh shit, I get it. This motherfucker's
- 46:48Speaker 2: rapping about that a shitty retail. Don't you do get it?
- 46:52Speaker 1: That's my point I'm saying. So what I'm saying is,
- 46:54Speaker 1: but I grew.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Up, I grew up middle class.
- 46:55Speaker 1: That's not what I know. You this because Phoenix got
- 46:58Speaker 1: some fucking crazy sick as poor places.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah they do.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, sick that nobody talks about. Sick some crazy shit.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Shout out to Phoenix because they go through some shit.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Nobody talks about it. But the point I'm saying to
- 47:10Speaker 1: you is, when we're saying this, it's like everybody that
- 47:15Speaker 1: grew up with us talk the same way. Everybody who
- 47:18Speaker 1: grows up with us eats the same way. Every everybody
- 47:21Speaker 1: grows up.
- 47:22Speaker 2: But that's not universal.
- 47:23Speaker 1: That's where you're at, right, But that's all street urban culture.
- 47:26Speaker 2: That's the way that people different people in Gary Indiana
- 47:29Speaker 2: are different every ghetto. People in Cleveland are different every ghetto.
- 47:32Speaker 2: There is no middle class culture, that's only tradition. In
- 47:35Speaker 2: middle class and in wealth, there is no culture. So therefore,
- 47:38Speaker 2: how could you have hip hop somewhere where there's no culture?
- 47:40Speaker 2: So if Drake, let's say Drake for example, shout out
- 47:42Speaker 2: to DRIs. Do you think the Beastie Boys are hip hop? No?
- 47:45Speaker 1: They punk rock that made a hip hop album.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Okay? Do you think license to illes hip hop?
- 47:48Speaker 1: Yes, they made a hip hop album.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Okay, so that's hip hop. I agree, because but they
- 47:52Speaker 2: actually pump. They started as punk rockers, punk rock and
- 47:55Speaker 2: hip hop? Right?
- 47:56Speaker 1: Are step brothers?
- 47:58Speaker 2: Okay? Run DMC? What their hip hop? Listen? Correct? There?
- 48:05Speaker 2: Of course? Do you do you do you think that
- 48:08Speaker 2: Run DMC like obviously Run DMC is kind of looked
- 48:12Speaker 2: at as like the first like I would would you say,
- 48:15Speaker 2: like pop hip hop group in terms of like their popularity,
- 48:18Speaker 2: in terms of popularity we use the work?
- 48:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I guess to some degree.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Would you discount them working with Aerosmith?
- 48:26Speaker 1: No, I don't think. I think you could work with
- 48:28Speaker 1: whoever you want to. But I think hip hop is
- 48:30Speaker 1: more as much as street. Urban culture is defined through
- 48:33Speaker 1: crime and Disney populated crime or in neighborhoods. It don't
- 48:36Speaker 1: mean everyone's a criminal.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I didn't say it. I didn't say not everyone's a criminal. So,
- 48:42Speaker 2: but I feel like you were pretty much saying, now
- 48:45Speaker 2: where we're from, this is what we we didn't We
- 48:47Speaker 2: don't fuck with regular mall jobs.
- 48:50Speaker 1: No, that we're denied mall jobs.
- 48:53Speaker 2: That's not true. Yes, yes, I've been in the worst areas. Yes,
- 48:58Speaker 2: I got some of the more type of friends.
- 49:03Speaker 1: I'm not saying that. I'm saying the poverty and the oppression.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Here's here's here's a here's a richer conversation. But let
- 49:10Speaker 1: me get that point of I'm saying where all the
- 49:13Speaker 1: culture is created through the crime, the crime happening to everybody,
- 49:16Speaker 1: whether you're involved or not. You know what the crime
- 49:19Speaker 1: that is to education programs, to where the education programs
- 49:21Speaker 1: are trash. And you don't speak great English, So y'all
- 49:23Speaker 1: make up slang, and y'all all talk the same way.
- 49:26Speaker 1: It don't matter if Cus got a job at the
- 49:28Speaker 1: mall in the hood or if he's selling dope. We
- 49:30Speaker 1: all talk the same. We all got the same lingo.
- 49:33Speaker 1: We all do the same thing. This is the this
- 49:35Speaker 1: is what I liken it too. And it's gonna be
- 49:37Speaker 1: crazy because you know, you're a white man in this conversation.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Is funny. You're a nigga, but you're a white man.
- 49:41Speaker 1: The point I'm saying to you is, there's always been
- 49:44Speaker 1: three black coaches in America, right, or three the ideas
- 49:46Speaker 1: of three identities. There's a slave, you know, American slave culture, right,
- 49:50Speaker 1: that's where you get sold food, That's where you get
- 49:51Speaker 1: all that. There's a freedman. Since the first day black
- 49:54Speaker 1: people have been on this planet, especially in this country,
- 49:57Speaker 1: there's been free black people, and then there's been slave masters.
- 50:00Speaker 1: The smaller culture of black people and it's not a culture,
- 50:02Speaker 1: it's the tradition of life. That's really small minute of
- 50:05Speaker 1: black slavers, right, that's their small freemen slaves. Kanye is
- 50:10Speaker 1: a freeman. His whole conversation is freeman. He has no
- 50:13Speaker 1: idea what niggas from where we from are talking about.
- 50:16Speaker 1: That's why you'll say something like slavery is a choice.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Kanye reminds me of a kid that got to visit
- 50:21Speaker 1: his cousins on the plantation. It was like, we need
- 50:23Speaker 1: to leave here, once this weekend when I go on
- 50:25Speaker 1: y'all go with me. That's how he talks because his mind,
- 50:28Speaker 1: and that's what middle class does to you. It creates
- 50:30Speaker 1: a place to where the world is limitless.
- 50:33Speaker 2: The world is not like your world is not real
- 50:36Speaker 2: to them, it's the upside down, right, Okay, that's fair.
- 50:39Speaker 2: That's what hip hop is.
- 50:41Speaker 1: But again, because people want a piece of it, and
- 50:43Speaker 1: it's like it's something seems so cool. They want a
- 50:46Speaker 1: piece of the lingo. They want a piece of to
- 50:48Speaker 1: get in, but they don't want a piece of the consequence.
- 50:50Speaker 1: That's why I'm really careful with who I say and
- 50:54Speaker 1: who I believe represents me as a ghetto person from
- 50:57Speaker 1: hip hop. Now, if I started allowing somebody like Drake,
- 51:00Speaker 1: forgive me Drake again, shout out to the homies. It's
- 51:03Speaker 1: no disrespect. But if you don't speak not one thing
- 51:06Speaker 1: on what's going on with black people in this country,
- 51:09Speaker 1: not one stands, not one.
- 51:11Speaker 2: That's been my biggest critique.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I don't even care because he's.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Canadian, right, but I just feel like he doesn't ever
- 51:17Speaker 2: have an opinion on anything.
- 51:20Speaker 1: But except now he's wearing rainbow clips, So you're endorsing movements,
- 51:24Speaker 1: but you're not endorsing the people that put you in
- 51:27Speaker 1: position to be where you at now.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I do think it's like interesting that.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Like why you don't have Shae for nobody? Why Yo
- 51:34Speaker 1: Shade is for Joe Budden? He not, first off, a
- 51:37Speaker 1: rich Jewish man bragging about being rich to some nigga
- 51:42Speaker 1: that come from the ghetto like Joe Budden's, that shit
- 51:45Speaker 1: is like cringey, Whereas like.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Well, I just think I mean, I said this on
- 51:49Speaker 2: Twitter the other day, I said, I don't think Joe
- 51:53Speaker 2: Budden said anything that was unfair, disrespectful, And.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I'm not mad and I'm not mad at Drake being
- 51:59Speaker 1: offended at his critique of I'm a.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Little I'm a little mad at that because I feel
- 52:03Speaker 2: like Drake Bro, you have to understand like people are
- 52:06Speaker 2: going to have an opinion about your music, and in
- 52:08Speaker 2: as long as they're not crossing the line or they're
- 52:10Speaker 2: not saying anything, he should be able to have.
- 52:12Speaker 1: An opinion about them. But my thing is, why does
- 52:15Speaker 1: it go right to what you have or money? Like
- 52:17Speaker 1: you're like Drake is actually a talent, talented, accomplished MC
- 52:23Speaker 1: record making fucking monster.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Yeah, why go to money? I have a private jet
- 52:27Speaker 2: and you have to take first class flights.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Because you're a rich Jewish man. It's like being a
- 52:33Speaker 1: broke black person. Like that's how common to the main
- 52:37Speaker 1: ears that sounds. It's like you're gonna talk about it,
- 52:40Speaker 1: nigga being broke.
- 52:40Speaker 2: It wasn't Yeah, it wasn't necessary for sure.
- 52:43Speaker 1: So I'm not mad at him. But he could have
- 52:45Speaker 1: talked about so many things, you know what I mean?
- 52:48Speaker 1: And that's what hip hop is. It's bearing the burden
- 52:51Speaker 1: of street urban culture. You have to represent see when
- 52:55Speaker 1: you don't have when you don't have to represent nobody.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Jay could have never went out like that because he
- 53:00Speaker 1: represented Marris in Brooklyn. He had to. That's the only
- 53:02Speaker 1: way he could garner support. Snoop could never. You know
- 53:06Speaker 1: another reason why Snoop is such a fantastic hit boy
- 53:08Speaker 1: BARTI is he will never break cripping. He defines cripping
- 53:11Speaker 1: how he wants. That's what cripping is all about. You
- 53:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You don't break them that one
- 53:16Speaker 1: rule about no snitch. You could do with cripping as
- 53:18Speaker 1: you please, just don't make nobody look dumb. And Snoop
- 53:22Speaker 1: has done a great job of not making people look stupid,
- 53:24Speaker 1: and he never broke away. When you don't have to
- 53:27Speaker 1: bear the burden of culture, when you don't gotta represent,
- 53:31Speaker 1: hip hop is all about representing the people we talking
- 53:34Speaker 1: about due they fucking represent do people from their community?
- 53:38Speaker 1: Feels like this is our spokesman. Like when I talk
- 53:41Speaker 1: rest assure any real nigga for watch most niggas watch
- 53:44Speaker 1: him like that. Nigga is all right. Niggas from La
- 53:47Speaker 1: gonna be like glasses is all right because I have to.
- 53:49Speaker 1: I can't do no sucking shit. How a'macha show my
- 53:52Speaker 1: face in the sixties, how much show my face in
- 53:54Speaker 1: the trades, how mama show my faces in the great streets?
- 53:56Speaker 1: How much show my face in these coastes? If I
- 53:58Speaker 1: go looking dumb, I have the burden of representing ghettos.
- 54:03Speaker 1: That's what hip hop is. LLLL had the responsibility. LLLL
- 54:06Speaker 1: and NAS had to represent Queens. Fifty had to represent
- 54:09Speaker 1: South Side Queens. Jay had to represent Brooklyn. If you
- 54:13Speaker 1: don't got to represent shit and you can still be successful, nigga,
- 54:16Speaker 1: you are not one of us. If you can embarrass
- 54:18Speaker 1: us every week.
- 54:19Speaker 2: You don't think that Drake represents Toronto no, not the streets.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I mean he represents Toronto as the Raptors represent Toronto,
- 54:29Speaker 1: and he's their god.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I think Drake. My problem is Drake represent black people
- 54:35Speaker 2: and we be looking like, kus, what are you doing?
- 54:38Speaker 2: You know what? I mean, like what the fuck?
- 54:40Speaker 1: Because why would you do that? But the problem is
- 54:42Speaker 1: when we try to hold him with our ghetto response.
- 54:44Speaker 1: He's not a ghetto kid. He don't come from the ghetto.
- 54:47Speaker 1: He don't. If you gotta think, morale and streetlight create standards,
- 54:51Speaker 1: create morals. I mean the religion, excuse me, and street
- 54:56Speaker 1: life create morals. Without it, America is just like a
- 55:00Speaker 1: dog eat dog plays right, they fucked up?
- 55:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I think we can at times be unfair towards
- 55:07Speaker 2: Drake because he is such a just massive, shining star
- 55:13Speaker 2: in hip hop. I think that at times Drake does
- 55:17Speaker 2: things where I'm like, okay, you're like being a little
- 55:20Speaker 2: too emotional towards Joe Budden, Like to discount him as
- 55:22Speaker 2: like a failed rapper is unfair.
- 55:24Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't really care about that.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I do think, though, I do not care about some
- 55:28Speaker 1: fucking hair clips.
- 55:30Speaker 2: See don't, I don't care.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Yeah, if you go in the door.
- 55:33Speaker 2: You like the hair clips? Because why you Snoop Dog
- 55:36Speaker 2: had had had a lot of shit going on with
- 55:38Speaker 2: his hair and shut the sugar freez.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but they ain't putting rainbow hair clips. That's a purpose.
- 55:42Speaker 1: He's doing a lot of things on purpose to do
- 55:44Speaker 1: certain things. And I'm asking you why you ain't stand
- 55:46Speaker 1: up for no niggas. If you're gonna stand up for
- 55:48Speaker 1: somebody who you're gonna represent you.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Who's he representing? You think he's representing that you know
- 55:54Speaker 2: you know he is, and that's his thought?
- 55:56Speaker 1: Then why would you put rainbow hair clips in your head?
- 55:58Speaker 2: Why does rainbow gotta be exclusive something that?
- 56:01Speaker 1: It ain't a god?
- 56:03Speaker 2: It's just what if he bought a pack of hairclips
- 56:05Speaker 2: and they came in multiple colors? Why does everything have
- 56:07Speaker 2: to have a specific meaning or agenda attached to it?
- 56:11Speaker 2: Drake's hair clips don't mean anything except for their hair clips.
- 56:14Speaker 2: You really believe that? Do you think Drake purposely said, nah,
- 56:18Speaker 2: give me the rainbow pack? Yes? No, he's that crazy.
- 56:22Speaker 1: You don't believe Drake is like one of the greatest
- 56:24Speaker 1: minds like Kanye And let me tell you something.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Not see the problem is this, let me just say this.
- 56:30Speaker 2: The problem is certain, like in twenty twenty three, for
- 56:36Speaker 2: whatever reason, we always have to put a meaning or
- 56:40Speaker 2: stick some sort of agenda to something that it don't
- 56:42Speaker 2: got nothing to do.
- 56:43Speaker 1: With because we all know it means something.
- 56:45Speaker 2: It doesn't. It does. It's just hair clips.
- 56:46Speaker 1: No, it doesn't, it's not.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 56:48Speaker 1: If I were you, do you think Drake's hair clips
- 56:51Speaker 1: are him endorsing a certain lifestyle?
- 56:53Speaker 2: Yes? Really? Yes?
- 56:55Speaker 1: When it is the mainstream thing to do, what does
- 56:57Speaker 1: that mean that's the thing to do out of mainstream
- 57:00Speaker 1: level across the world. That's what every pop artist would
- 57:04Speaker 1: be doing across the world that people not. This is
- 57:07Speaker 1: not by accident, you think this shit about this nigga
- 57:10Speaker 1: is brilliant like Drake is.
- 57:11Speaker 2: So what is Drake's agenda with his colorful hair?
- 57:13Speaker 1: Now we're finna go into some details, but obviously what
- 57:15Speaker 1: is your perceive He's obviously endorsing, right, which I don't
- 57:20Speaker 1: care about that.
- 57:21Speaker 2: But my thing is the.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Niggas who made you famous, these niggas in America, these ghettos,
- 57:26Speaker 1: because we pushed cuz like he couldn't just be a
- 57:29Speaker 1: pop star and be that. We pushed cut the ghettos.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Push Cuse, we said the females, the black women from
- 57:36Speaker 1: the ghettos, push cus.
- 57:37Speaker 2: You ain't said nothing about nothing happening to these sisters.
- 57:39Speaker 2: You ain't posting nothing that's happening to these sisters. You're
- 57:41Speaker 2: not saying nothing about no nigga. And I gotta let
- 57:44Speaker 2: that go because you was Canadian. I'm like, you know what,
- 57:45Speaker 2: he don't have to get a fuck what happened to
- 57:47Speaker 2: American niggas. I don't disagree with you on that point,
- 57:50Speaker 2: because I do think at certain points in time, it'd
- 57:53Speaker 2: be nice if we knew what Drake thought about I
- 57:56Speaker 2: don't know George Floyd or Breonna Tagos.
- 57:59Speaker 1: I'm not even asking that because most power wars or
- 58:02Speaker 1: you know, he.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Lives here a lot, like there's a lot of turmoil
- 58:06Speaker 2: going on with our political system.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Just any sort of opinion, I'm okay with that. But
- 58:11Speaker 1: like you said, he's Canadian. Yes, what do you think
- 58:14Speaker 1: about Justin Trudeau?
- 58:15Speaker 2: Drake? Facts? Facts? What do you think about the Canadian
- 58:17Speaker 2: truck drivers who I'm not mad because that's a hip
- 58:20Speaker 2: hop responsibilitykay, okay, And that's what I think. That's separate
- 58:22Speaker 2: than you think. Gend with his haircliffs.
- 58:24Speaker 1: You're missing the point of somebody that's so brilliant to
- 58:26Speaker 1: know not to speak on something. He's so smart, this nigga.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Him and forty are some of the best scientists I've
- 58:32Speaker 1: ever seen in the music business, like when it comes
- 58:34Speaker 1: to creating records, marketing and understand how to markets, like
- 58:37Speaker 1: Michael Jordan.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Right, Like Michael Jordan purposely has said Republicans and Democrats
- 58:43Speaker 2: by both my sneakers. Why would I take a stance
- 58:45Speaker 2: on any of this publicly, because then I kind of
- 58:47Speaker 2: and Drake's kind of the same kind of guy. But
- 58:49Speaker 2: but Drake appeals to everybody, and I don't think he
- 58:51Speaker 2: wants to fuck that up, and I'm not mad at that.
- 58:54Speaker 1: But my thing is right, that's why. You know who
- 58:57Speaker 1: else does that? Pop stars?
- 58:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and then there's also artists. There's no hip hop
- 59:02Speaker 2: artists that do that.
- 59:02Speaker 1: We won't even let him go. We won't even nick
- 59:05Speaker 1: if you try that. If you try that and you
- 59:09Speaker 1: represent us, it's a problem. Wait a minute, you're not
- 59:12Speaker 1: gonna speak of Thug said something like, oh, we ain't
- 59:14Speaker 1: talking about that shit. We talking about young niggas.
- 59:16Speaker 2: They was asking Thug about the boy that got killed
- 59:19Speaker 2: Mike uh in Ohio.
- 59:21Speaker 1: What's brother Mike Michael.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Mike Brown, Michael Mike Brown, Michael Brown. And it was like, yeah,
- 59:26Speaker 2: you know, he was on the red carpet. It's like,
- 59:28Speaker 2: you know how you feel about Mike Brown. He's like,
- 59:29Speaker 2: oh man, we ain't tripping off that old politics shit.
- 59:31Speaker 2: We out here getting niggas fell apart. Oh my god,
- 59:34Speaker 2: you motherfucking this niggas is a nigga who do drugs.
- 59:37Speaker 2: He I don't even think we should even really want
- 59:39Speaker 2: his opinion because he go through so much mental shit
- 59:42Speaker 2: and be high. Yeah, you're not gonna look to thug
- 59:46Speaker 2: for political views, but.
- 59:48Speaker 1: He still has to because guess why. He is from
- 59:50Speaker 1: the ghetto in Atlanta. And we like you better talk,
- 59:53Speaker 1: you better speak for us. And that's the responsibility of
- 59:56Speaker 1: hip hop.
- 59:56Speaker 2: I don't give a fuck.
- 59:57Speaker 1: If it's tried, daylight or soul, anybody. You are responsible
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: for speaking for us in hip hop. Okay, So and
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: if you don't, we look at you funny. But the
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: only people we don't worry about is people that ain't
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: hip hop.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: So what's the issue with with the hair clips?
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Not that I have no issues with it, I'm saying,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I'm asking you, this is the first you aren't going
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: to so you are your stand says he's purposely from
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: the nails, the hair, He's gonna keep going.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Okay. So do you think Andre three thousand was doing
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: that in ninety six, ninety seven when when when he
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: was wearing certain.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: No, I just think he got Erica Badu pussy and
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: that pussy is some shit. Okay, Drake ain't gotta no
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Erica Badu.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: What about Thug when Thug warred dress on his album cover.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Thug is from Atlanta, where the street
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: urban culture is tied into homosexuality. For some reason, nobody
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: in Atlanta talks about it's like right there, Like I've
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: never seen a bigger demographic of gay black folks in
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: the ghetto like Atlanta.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Never seen that. Do you think it's possible Drake just
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: got a bag of air clips? No zero chance.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: He's too smart. He's too smart to just do something
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: and don't have no impossible, it's impossible zero if.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: We're zero zero percent zero present, not even a half
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: a percent chance he just puts some hair clips in
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: his hair and they have different colors. No zero chance?
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: What zero chance?
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: He's Drake. Drake is brilliant dog. There's a confusion. Drake
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: is fucking brilliant dog. Him and forty together dog. The
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: niggas could put shit together forty to produce, like he
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: could come with ship bro. They could push it together
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: like some of the ship they be doing. Be like
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: fuck like you know what I mean, because you got
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: to catch up to this ship and it's like fuck, like,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: this is how smart they are. He's a marketing fucking machine,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He knows well.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: I think that you're real reaching.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: I understand why you feel that way, because would actually
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: mean you would have to be accountable for decisions you make. No,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: we love a world where we could just make people
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: hip hop. We have to be account I.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Just think not everything famous people does has an agenda
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: attached to it.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: I know, because you which it don't make sense because
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: you would think that some of these people are some
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: of the greatest marketing minds ever, and you would think
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: that they would accidentally do something even though they've been
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: controlling the narrative for twenty years.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Okay, switching subjects, Shout out to Drake. Yeah, you had
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: a song that was called Tupac deserved to die, no
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: muster or Tupac must die. Sorry music video was dope?
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: What was it about?
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Four years old?
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Fire years old?
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: It was four years now?
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on Keithy D's arrest. He's obviously
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: been doing a bunch of interviews over the last five
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: six years, just kind of I mean, holding nothing back
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: in these interviews, which is kind of crazy. It ended
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: up biting him in the ass in a real way,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: just as a someone who you know made that song,
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: someone who is a fan of you know, hip hop
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: and what happened, and not a fan of what happened.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Obviously you didn't have so obviously, but just what I'm saying,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: just kind of what your thoughts on on on the
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Tupac arrest.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I need to really see the discovery. I need to
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: see the evidence. I was crazy because they did.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: They had to have arrested him because they had to
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: because they did go and raid the house.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: And I think that's more about what happened after that.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Like I need to see the discovery. I need to
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: see what how it led to this arrest, because I
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: don't think it's the interviews. I think the interviews could
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: create a situation to get a warrant, right, but I
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: don't think it can lead to an arrest.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: I agree with you on that something they had to
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: if something happened, something happened where they had.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: To and I need to see that before I really
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: because the interview.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: I mean, like you said, the interview could have resulted
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: in the raid, like the warrant to kick the tow down,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: got to get your raid. Yes, Now outside of that,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: you know they had to they had to spend the
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: block and then go arrest.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Something happened. So as far as that, I don't quite know.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I don't want to see nobody in jail, you know
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: what I mean, Not like.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: That's what Knight said. Shug said. I think he said
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: he grew up playing Pop Warner with ke d Or. Yeah.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I just don't want to see nobody in jail because.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I understand he would not wish jail on anybody.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I know the consequences if I do something, So again,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: justice looks a lot different for me than it does
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: to other people. So whatever gotta happen, got to happen,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But I would love to
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: see the discovery of what what really led to the arrest,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: you know, because I didn't think it was gonna be
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: able to happen, but the raid created one moment. And
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: then the way they do the grand jury out there
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: is like it can be going for a year, like
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: you could keep bringing shit back like is this enough?
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Well, right, if it is proven that he was in
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: the car, isn't that enough to put him in jail
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: for two.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: But I don't think you can use the interviews as
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: a way that.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I think. I think they have something else. Whatever, that's
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: something else because.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: In that car that night, so California becomes felony murder.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I don't know what it looks like in Nevada, but
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I'm sure they got something similar.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: So I mean they say he's a mastermind, which again
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I need to see how is he the mastermind?
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Because I think, listen, the reality is Keithy with some
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: shit Like Keithy was a rich nigga, the reason the
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: South Side Chris was the richest hood and counter when
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: I was a kid, him cat name think they was
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: like super rich when I was younger.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so he just wasn't just some random dude from
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Vegas for people. Yeah, he was actually he was a
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: real factor.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: And if you and them, dudes, I mean, this is
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: any gang in La man, if you jump on somebody,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: they can pretty much bring your hat to you. If
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: they if they decided for that to be their purpose,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: it don't matter who it is, as long as you
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: around here.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Thing is, it's it's just nice to see that they
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: didn't necessarily give up.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: What's crazy is when I think about it, right, it's
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: for twenty seven years and then he moved to Novata after,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like and I think he
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: been there, you know what I mean. But it's it's
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: a it's a it's a weird thing going on about
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: the whole to white and soul.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I see, I see some speculation about
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: people's involvement.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Ain't buying a puff. I conld make a joke anyway,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: but there's no My issue with that is because there's
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: no way he could owe them a million dollars and
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: then puff be alive for a year and they doubling
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: back out here and they ain't got that money. That
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: just and I don't believe that, But I think that
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: made the story interesting enough to tell the story, and
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: it puts somebody else as the head in the story,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I don't quite know why
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: that would be the story. I mean, and then I
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: could just be wrong cuz, like well, because there was that,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I just don't believe it.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: But you know what's fun, there was that La Times
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: article that was written that insinuated Puff was involved, as
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: crazy as there's no way I could think of Puff
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: like that. But if you think about Puff, Puff has.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Became Shug lately. He is the sugar of how niggas
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: firing niggas shut up, and he'd have jumped on Jake Call.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: I don't know if this is I don't know if
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: this is true or not, but I heard do you
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: remember that guy Chopper who was on making the bands?
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: I heard when he was having issues with with Diddy.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: And I don't know if this is true, but I've
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: heard this from a a couple of people. Puffy bought
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: the house across the street from Trappa's mom just to
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: fuck with him, like I own the house across the
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: street from your mom, like I always have eyes on
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: your mom's.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: That's crazy because Puff was like, I don't know, man, Puff.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I can't believe it though, because Puff Puff seems like
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: an alright guy, but I don't know cuz you know
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: what I mean, like.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: Not for sure. I mean, listen, I met him a
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: couple of times and also seemed like an alright guy,
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: Like I don't but I just I just can't like
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: the guy you just never really fuck with for whatever reason,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Like people kind of know not to fuck with Puffy.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't think it's out of a fear
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: that Puff is gonna get at you. I think it's
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: just like Puff is so like why would you want
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: to burn a bridge with Puff?
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: With Diddy?
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Like you know what I mean, I never got like
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: I've never in my life saw puffin thought to myself,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: even when he was arguing with the man from Power
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: on the corner, because he was talking, I was like, man,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: that that was Mere.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Talking about when he was dressed like the Joker.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm like, man, cuss Puff ass out of fire.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Pushally did that because I just I see Puff is
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: such a responsible man. I just can't see him wanting
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: to throw his life away, and.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: He also has so much like going on. You would
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: be like, Puff's not stupid, so he's.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: And then I can't see the South sides letting him
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: get away with a million dollar debt for all that time,
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: it makes sense that ain't gonna even last. And these
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: niggas had something like when I tell you, these niggas
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: had some money. Man, when I was going up them,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: niggas had money. I'm talking about real money. He was
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: out of fucking Mike Tyson fight. I mean, these niggas got.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: Some money in the nineties. That's the ticket of the session.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: There's no way I could see them letting Cus get
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: away with owing them that kind of money and ain't
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: nothing happening because they had have been tearing his ass up.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: I wonder if this will motivate UH any sort of
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: resolve in the Biggie murder, and I don't think it
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: will because I think the LAPD was obviously involved off
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: through the cops, et cetera.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I just think the Biggie murder was a professional hit,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: and it's just different.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it was a professional hit, and I
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: think for whatever reason it would have impliced, it would
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: have made the l a p D look really bad
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: had they solved it properly.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: But even then the fans could come in. I just
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: think it's hard to prove what happened like because it
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: was so done professionally. The pot ship is different, Like
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: we heard about that ship in real time, Like this
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: is really I mean they just death row niggas just
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: jumped Baty Lane like you you heard that in real
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: time when it happened that night. Then you heard pod
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: got shot. You could put two and two like it was.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: It makes sense. It was one one event affected another event.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: And it was a normal thing around that happened. The
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: big Ship surprised everybody. None of us thought heard nothing
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: big it was a hit. No, none of us even
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: heard nothing about who did a PA hit? Yeah, like
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: that was like a real job. So I don't I
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: think it's just different.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Why don't you think Kanye has a classic album? What
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: said that? Well, you said, no one has four classic
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: albums and hip hop? Oh I don't know why the
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: tweet I saw, I thought that. By the way, you're wrong,
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: but uh, no one has four classic albums. Again, y'all
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: keep making classics. It's just ship you like, or that's
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: four college dropout late registration registration is not a it's
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: his best album, that's not don't mean it's his classic
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: classic shifts The game.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: It's not like late registration and graduations are ploys off
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: of college dropout. They're not different things. They're not true
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: graduations way different.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: It's not music.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: He sampled that don't mean nothing, don't mean nothing.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: It was the same ship classic albums. No, My Beautiful Dart,
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Twits and Fantasy is a classic.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna listen. I could take that greatest.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: It might be the greatest album ever. No, it might
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: be No, all right, No, college dropped outs a classic. Yeah,
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: And if you want to talk about changing stuff.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: And the way it heartbreaks, which I can't and what
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Jesus no, but I do totally enjoy us. A real Kanye.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Fansis made Travis Scott possible. Listen. I'm not this and
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Travis was very much instrumental into the making of that album.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: You're not going to hear any debates with me about
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: props for Yeasy.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: I'm not going to jump off. It's not a classic album.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: I can ask classic. I think I think Late Registration
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: and Graduation are classic. No, I think Kanye his first
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: five albums are classic.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: That don't even make sense. Somebody dropped five classic albums
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: in the rold. Just think about what that would be. No,
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: it don't even makes sense.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Kanye listed No, No, he's got the greatest discography and
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: hip hop history. I wouldn't even even I wouldn't even
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: mind arguing that, Like, I'm okay with that, But he
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: don't got five fucking classic albums. Do you know who
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: else has four? Oh? Outcast? No? Yeah, God damn it,
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: y'all just make anything a classic? What are you talking about, bro, Listen,
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: A classic.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Don't mean you really like it or it's really good.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: This is, by the way, this is your definition of
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: a classic.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Mine's is the author, aready figure in the conversation?
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Okay? As a product? Okay, So you think Outcast doesn't
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: have four classics.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Look if somebody I said, no, one in hip hop
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: has four, not a soul, not a soul, and I
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: think to hip hop.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Fans, this is Kendrick has three.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna be First off, I came the
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: fact that niggas was throwing that in the conversation was great.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I couldn't believe.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: I was like, it was like DoD got five, Kendrick
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: has three. I think it. I think to be determined
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: on his last album, even though I really know. I
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: still listen to it a lot. It's not a class
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: I still listen. It's not to be determined. No, no, no,
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: that's fair. I wouldn't put it in the Pimper Butterfly,
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Damn or good Kid Mad City converse.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I don't even think people give Damn the correct credit.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: So I agree, agree. I think those are the three though.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: But but I think when you say classic, like, I
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: think there's certain albums that are classic. Ill Madic has
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: been regarded as a classic.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Dog you style, right, dog style The Chronicles, by the way, what,
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: in your opinion, what's the better album of the Chronic
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: of two thousand and one, two thousand and one. Yeah, well,
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: I like the age.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: I like the Chronic because the Chronic has these really
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: important joints.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: Yes, but two thousand and one, if you right now, masterful, Yeah,
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: some masterful. I just worked out to two thousand and one,
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: like a month ago.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: I just played it and I was straight out of
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Compton as a classic Eddie Griffin.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: His skits on two thousand and one am so fired.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Dre has always been faking your mama was a hot
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: weekend pussy. That's crazy, okay, So yeah, but no, I
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: was saying no one in hip hop assa.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Okay, I think I misunderstood the tweet thread that I
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: might have saw you replied to, because you know, I
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: thought you were saying that Kanye didn't have any classic albums,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: which I was just like, no, there's no way.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: I'm really careful with.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: Because I get Richard I try and classic.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: Hell yeah, that's fucking fantastic.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: But I'm saying, does Eminem have a classic? I don't know.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: I have to think about Martin Maisp that would be
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: the one, or Eminem shows. It's probably Marshall Mathers to
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: your definite, I think EVANDAM Show is the better album.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: What would but but Fix is Scarface's classic. Yes, made
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: is a better album.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: I like the Diary too and the Diaries and I
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: think Untouchable was his best album.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Fix it was a classic. Fix Fix has my favorite
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: NOS verse ever. My favorite NODS verse ironically is on
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: We Major.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, are that between us? Between me and you?
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Whatever the fuck that record is on the Fix, Jesus Christ,
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: NOAs went the fucking.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Uh That verse All We Major is crazy. It's victory
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: lap of classic. I think it's been deemed they went
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: back and got it right to classic when it was
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: first release.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: But I think it but.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Dogg Ye Style, the same thing happened with Doggie Style.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: The same thing happened with There was a few records.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: That One thing I'll give hip hop credit is they
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: will go back and write their wrongs. They did that
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: with reasonable doubt. They did it.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: That's fair because I remember Blueprint being the first one
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: everybody thought was a classic. But it's like, what about
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: everybody double back? And I remember having reasonable doubt thinking that.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Then now they got it right right, because that's been
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: the person that's come up a lot as J and
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I'm a diehard J Face Snoop scar.
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: For what's Outcast classic album to you? Aliens at Alien? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: I think it's Quemini. If you're gonna pick a one,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: I'm not mad at that right there.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Cast is like that weird group to where so many
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: things it's so possible with them, and they.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Now have the greatest selling hip hop album ever. They
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: just passed uh eminem eminem.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: It's a double CD though, true, so it's gonna get
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: counted twice.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: But you know, whatever, do you remember those days when
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: like a ball was dropping triple albums like lost that.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: It was like, Yo, if you did forty was doing
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: that shit crazy?
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: If you just did three hundred and thirty three thousand,
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: you're platinum. Yeah, that's pretty slick. And then motherfuckers was
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: dropping two albums on the same day. Who was here? Oh,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: I just was talking to insane clown posse. They were here,
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: violent j and he's dope. Yeah, he was cool.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: He was very Uh.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: You know, I got uncles like him that that's a
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: lot of dope in their life and are just very
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: like he was. He was just very He was jittering,
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: such a cool dude, super nice, super jitter And we
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: would talk and I'd ask him a question and then
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: he would just go off on like a random tangent
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: about something unrelated to the question.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: But them drugs be connecting different brain st.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: No, he was so cool. And I'm always real tough
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: on juggalos because I think for the most part they
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: have really bad Uh they're not good at the upkeep
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: of their personal hygien But.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: You know what it is, man, Juggalos is like I
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: always felt like they was the ghetto white people.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but the most but the most ghetto. But
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: that's why I actually clicked with them. Yeah, because I mean, listen,
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: there's ghetto white people and then there's like the Juggalo.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: I love the motherfuckers. Yeah, I don't know, that's just
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: my people.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: I don't have I.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Did the fucking uh.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: You did the gathering, the gathering. Oh so you went
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: to the gathering? Did you see the tent or the
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: drug breaks?
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Even though people just fucking I've seen the drug?
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: What does smell like?
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't get close enough. But I don't
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: think it's I'm sa I love him, motherfucking I don't
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: know my people.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: The Jugglers are so funny because, like I posted, and
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: I've always given up my because I actually think ICP
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: on a business model standpoint, are pioneers and hip hop.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: I think that what they did with their merchandising, I
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: think Tech nine gets a lot and technos I feel
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: this way, tech gets a.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Lot of I think that, Yeah, I think Travis had did.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Travis had has done a really good job on improving
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: on that model, for.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: Improving improved on kind of what ICP had had going.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: But I think this is b I think I think
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: for whatever reason, CP their marketing and just their business
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: model is hip hop artists. Like when I was a kid,
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: they were the only kind of hip hop group where
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: you could go buy their shirt and Spencers, like there
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: was ICP Jerseys.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: And white Man Hot Topic, white Shit have it.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: But I'm saying it's like it's like they they pushed.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: They pushed the line to me, they pushed.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: The line of like if you go to a concert,
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: we're gonna have one hundred skews that you could purchase.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: We're gonna have shoelaces, We're gonna have all that ship.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: A lot of that ship is brilliant, Like the Motherfuckers
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: is brilliant, you know, I mean the Motherfuckers is fire.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: That just insane.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: So when did you first link with the juggle of
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: world because you were signed a Suburban Noise, which is
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: kind of an offshoot that world was suburban Okay, that
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: was like cotton Mouth King's Kevin Zinger s r H.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: The boy that's popping now, shout out to him. They
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: got that whole anti. To me, that ship is a
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: dope movement where they have like uh uh Adam.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Calhoun, Yeah, him and I have had words online.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: That's funny. Adam is another guy, Tom McDonald. And there's
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: another guy that was from this group kind of buff
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: but dope. I got a song with him and this
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: pissed me off. I am yeah, but but that's he
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: was a part of a group initially Struggle. No, it
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: was it was Real Pr. The name of the song
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: is called Real P.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: I uh.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: God, damn it, I'm losing my fucking mind. Yeah, but
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I like that movement. It's funny because I feel like
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: they move into such a uh all set movement, you
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: know what I mean? What the fuck is going on?
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Why am I not figuring this out? That's not to
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: say much.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Though, but what I need to figure out? Who you're
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: talking about?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Mad Child? Mad Child?
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he used to be a part of that.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I did this song with the group though Swollen members,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Swollen members.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I did a song with Swollen members because right, which
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: is dope right? And the song with Swallen members. And
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: I like Mad Child, me and Mad Child.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: Still, I don't put mat Child in that world.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I know, but so to me because he's Canadian, like
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: you allto gonna see it differently.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: No, it's not that I think they had a label
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: called battle Axe Records. I could be wrong. About but
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: it was like they were like really like some indie
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: backpack like hip hop vinyl, Like you went and bought
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: their singles back?
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Would you dug a Tom and them? Tom and Adam.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: I personally, I'm not too mad at Tom. I've seen
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: some of his I've seen. I was actually kind of
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: interested in his business model because I saw a video
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: come out. I'm like a music industry nerd. So I
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: saw a video come out or some sort of something
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: came across my timeline that he had sold a certain
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: amount of units, but because he sold them the way
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: he did that they didn't count it towards his billboard sales,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: and that had they counted his billboard sales properly, he
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: would have probably had like the number one album in
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: the country or something. Right, So I watched a YouTube
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: video that he put up explaining and showing how much
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: he actually sold. And my homie Dax did a song
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: with him and Dax Records here, that's my friend. That's
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: the brother, that's like the brother that's super active. Yeah,
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: he's not like some country songs he's got. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: I saw, so I know they've worked together. That the
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Tom McDonald w this Canadian, Dax is Canadian. The other
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: guy out of him Adam Calhoun. This is the thing
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: that's weirded about Adam Calhoun. Me and him have had
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: our words, and I've said that his music is horrible.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: I don't really think like this is my thing. Anybody
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: who and and you can this dude like made a
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: record saying the N word over and over for shock value.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Sure you saw the video, Yeah, it's the one were
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: talking about trying to trash how our experience can be.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: And I get to I get it, But I was
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: just like, bro, like this he might have gas the
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: nigga you feel right?
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: And I just feel like somehow and I could be
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: categorizing what he does unfairly. I could be, But I
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: think the leaning into the maga world for Clout is
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: very like so you don't genuinely believe he believes in
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: the shit. It's not that I think that if like,
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: your musical identity is your maga like and I don't
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: And listen to be fair to this guy because I
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: just talked I just talked to Jelly Roll, who's one
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: of my Jelly is Dope. Well, Jelly's one of my
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: closest friends in me, dope.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I've known Jelly for white Wood Jelly. Shout out to Jelly.

- 1:25:00Speaker 2: used that promo code. Boulet tried for free for a month.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: So let's get back to the interview. And I told
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Jelly the last time I saw him, I said, Hey,
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: I know you're tight with that dude Adam Calhoun, and
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: I don't want to have like any real beef with
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: somebody that you're friends with. So I was like, if
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: you ever want to put me on the phone with
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: him like I wouldn't mind, just because we went back
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: and forth on in our YouTube comments. And I mean,
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: I don't think his music's very good, but I can't
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: equate what he does because he's got whole albums with
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: my Boy Struggle and Struggles my boy, like I love
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: Struggles Struggles a talented guy. So I really I think
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: I may have unfairly equated what he's doing with what
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: some of these real maga rappers are doing, because there's
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: like real.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Sure gods, so you can see they taking advantage.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: No, they're literally their entire identity is they do maga rap.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: It's like a shove, a subgenre of music that is
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: strictly based on fuck, black Lives matter, Trump, Trump, Trump,
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: what's the what's the jerk offs name from Florida? That
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: uh no, no no, the for Giotto Blow who used
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: to be signing used to be signed to Thomas Jones
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: and was a fucking wanna be street rapper in Tampa
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: when I lived there, And now all of a sudden
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: he is literally the face of maga rat. To me,
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: that ship's corny, super corny. And then there's like, so
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: I think I might have unfairly put those two guys
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: in the same lane. As to where I don't think
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: Adam Calhoun's music, I think I might have unfairly judged it. Also,
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: he was beefing with my boy CASKI, so I might
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: have unfairly judged him. I'm not a fan of his music.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of like and this is. And
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: Also I'd like to point out it'd be like if
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: there was somebody waving a Biden flag in their rap songs,
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: You'd be like, what's happening, Like, Who's Who's making pro
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: bi Who's making pro Biden rap music? Can I ask
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: you that question?
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Every last pop artist breathing no, no, no, I'm.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: Talking about by name. We're talking. I mean, listen, I
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: can pull up. There are some of these songs and
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: the hook is is like Trump Trump Trump, Maga Maga Magic.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: But that's because it's counter culture. It's counter culture. So
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: it was very much counter anything counter even when hip
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: hop would use Trump's name as a way to establish
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: the conversation of wealth right.
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: No, for sure, Trump was take over the world on
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Donald Trump.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: That's Trump was always counterculture. I'm Donald Trump and the
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: white T and white Woman's the conversations.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: I mean, Donald Trump is on method Man's second solo album,
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: to Count.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: Because so again, Trump has always been counterculture, just where
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: you place it.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: So my whole thing is this, if I would look
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: at a rapper the same way, if they did an
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: aoc acost of Cortes, the Congress lady from from New York,
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: if someone did a song that was like waving her
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: flat about.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: If somebody did a baroxa like my president is black.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: That's hard because that's history. It's the first by president.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: What are we talking about?
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: By the way, great song, shout out to Jesus, that's
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: my favorite g Z album. The Recession, great album. It's classic,
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: great app But.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: But I guess what I'm saying is like a classics
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: the classic.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: Yes, to me, it's a classic. To me, I don't
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: think it's I don't think it's it's higher on the
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: classic tier than than than Doug Motivation one on one,
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: it's not a classic. I like The Recession me too.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: I don't think it's more of a classic than it's
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: not a classic. To be fair, it's not a consensus classic.
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: It's a classic to me. I think we can all
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: have personal Well, you just like it no, but I
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: think to me, it's a classic to me. But I
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: would say I break down classics from different perspectives. One
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: would be what I call consensus hip hop classics, where
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: if you said that album is a classic, nobod's gonna
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: say shit.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: You nobody will say that about graduation, you don't have
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: some conversations and hip hop.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: Okay, So that's that's that's that's me. When I think
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: of Drake, he don't have a good kid. Mad City
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: the closest thing he's got to take care.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: You know what's funny, I just had that conversation somebody
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: said that I think. I was like, probably not, but
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: I think Drake's best album is Nothing Was the Same,
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: And I actually think that album is damn near flawless.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: And I think we don't give that album enough flowers
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: because Nothing Was the same as I think.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: Drake is fantastic and making music. Man. So I think
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: I think Drake, but I just don't know if he's
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: ever adjusted culture.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I get you. I think unfortunately, I
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: think the last like five years, I feel like he's
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: been just mailing it in even then because I actually enjoyed,
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: you know, what I enjoyed about Drake was when he
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: did the DM album.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: I think Drake always got some cuts, so it's hard.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: To really always got to I say, I can't. I
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: never listened to Madonna's I don't know that.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: You gotta go fuck with Madonna, bro, and it's hard.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: It's not for me, I'm telling you, and they get madly.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: I don't think eighties music is good. Eighties pop music
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: is terrible. I'm not it all aged horribly.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: It sounds like shit. It's corny as fuck.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: Keep all you just can't wait to Doom Doom, Doom,
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Doom Doom.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: I like eighties metal. Hey, give me eighties metal, Metallica,
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: that's not bad. Give me fucking you know, the eighties.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: I mean Van Halen's not metal. It's like pop rock.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: That's like Drake of rock. I would say, like Judas
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: metal would have got big guitars. Yeah, Mega Death, Pantera's
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: some ship in the eighties.
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: So so so at that point, Guns and Roses the
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: king of metal.
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: Well, guns and Roses was pop rock, and that was
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: the early nineties. But yeah, I mean Guns and Roses
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: were the biggest shit on the planet for you know,
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: four years.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: So Metallica is metal, so you need the over abusive
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: guitars to be metal.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: No, I mean Metallica is like eight minute songs with
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: two minute guitar solos in it, you know, like if
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: you listen to Master of Puppets, so that it's over abusive.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: And what's crazy is even like metal. People think Metallica's
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: like sell out metal because they sold out with the
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: Black album, their bigges album. They had a ballot on there.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but that ballad is t like to if
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: you listen like for who.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: The Bell Tolls or like one Ship like that. It's
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: just big heavy.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: It's funny because we have the same conversations per genre.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: And that's what I've been trying to say to you.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: No, I mean, I think it's all rock and roll,
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: but I think there's metal, which is like rap.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: So there's all rap. But everything in hip hop everything
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: is raped. A lot of shit is rap, but everything
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: in hip hop hip hop is like metal. See, rock
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: and roll is just rap. Anybody could rap, anybody could
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: put out a rap album, but hip hop is a
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: special representation of culture where you bear the burden of
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: it all and you carry it on your shoulders and
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: you know you you you're judge based off of what's happening, right,
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: I mean that can determine if you sell another record,
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: not for sure that and that's not what yady you
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: know shout out to Yati no District. I don't know
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: his history, but I'm saying he doesn't. He's not He's
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: not responsible for that. Yachty can do anything. And it's
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: not because kids can do anything. Because Zoel Sama is
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: a kid. He can't just do anything. If do something,
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: it's some trouble. If some of these young hip hop
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: orners do some silly shit, their career is going to
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: take a hit.
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: Right. I think that's definitely like true when it comes
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: to like if your if your music and your persona.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: Is hip hop is street, but hip hop is only street,
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: there's nothing else outside of it.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: I think that's true. It is you just say it evolved.
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: Can't you agree things evolve?
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Then metal can evolve. Yeah, so medical be ballots.
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: Yes, which I'm telling you with like I'm a hardcore
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: hip hop nigga. Okay, hardcore damn, You're not going to
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: sell it out. So you're trying to say because to me,
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: it all can evolve.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: No, it can't evolve because hip hop can never be
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: somewhere where culture doesn't exist.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: So let me ask you this in general, right, if
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: hip hop can't evolve, it's you.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: No culture evolves. But hip hop, right is always going
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: to be street urban culture. It can't evolve into the
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: suburbs because suburbs will never have culture. They'll never have
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: the they don't have the things. Cocaine plants, coca plants, right,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: we can grow them here, right, Me and you could
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: get a warehouse really and we could grow them yep,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: inside of the warehouse with all the lights and water
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: system and all that. Right, but how no, illegally, but
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: we would never have enough cocaine, would never have enough plants,
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: dried up leaves. I think it's like one hundred and
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: ten thousand pounds of dried up leaves or some crazy
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: shit you need. We would never create enough leaves to
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: make one fucking kilo because coca plants don't grow wild everywhere.
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: They don't have the environment, the right sun, the right
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: conditions to grow. That's hip hop. Hip Hop can only
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: grow there. There's no middle class place where your culture
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: is created. They don't need lingo. You know why they
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: don't need slang because the fucking school programs are good.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: I see. I don't think that's true though, because that
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: is there is culture created through in middle.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: Class where what fashion where Listen, they have addition, which
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: is which is culture. No, No tradition can be an
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: aspect of culture.
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: Is it safe to say that, like the automobile industry
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: was in the in the Midwest, was a middle class
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: industry up until it fell.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: Sure, but having a job there for poor people was
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: the culture?
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: Right? No, but those were middle class people.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: No, No, they were middle class people at that time,
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: at that time, right, But I agree, But that's what
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: I'm saying. Hip hop was birthed after they shut the
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: factories down, after there was no opportunity, after people was
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: deprived of things.
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: I mean, it was also birthed in the Bronx, So
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: it's definitely the same thing.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: That's diffinitely worse than that might be just the same
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: as Detroit. Right, So, all I'm saying to you is
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: middle class people can enjoy the music, But to say
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: that they they had there's a culture there, it's just not.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: And I've been to a lot of suburbs.
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: Hey, somehow we broke away from you telling me how
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: you first leave for Juggalos.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: Oh, Tech nine, Techno Tech nine went on toward Tech nine. Uh,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Tech loved me, Travis love Me. I want to three
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: times three years straight. Which tours was this, because the
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: first tour with tech it was just me and Tech
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: and Chris and cut. Then the next tour was ME forty.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: That's the tour I saw you on ME forty. Uh,
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: you're talking about Joe Buddens. You guys did House Oh Slaughterhouse,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: Slaughterhouse that was at the and K Dot, j Rock, Kendrick.
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: And j Rock. That was on the you guys did
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: House of Blues in Vegas Independent Grind tour.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I was there, it was it was Kendrick, j Rock,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: ME forty.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: That was when Jay Rock could put out the album
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: on Strange YEP, forty YEP, Slaughterhouse in Tech Yeah, that
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: was a crazy tour.
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: That was fantastic when I think about it, like wow, Yeah, And.
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: That's why I was telling violent Jay and he went
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: on this tangent about him and Tech nine almost went
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: to war, and I was like, that's not what I
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: was asking. I was trying to get to the point
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: of you guys like revolutionizing the merch game. And then
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: he was like, yeah, but they didn't. But I was like,
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: you guys share so many of the same fans that
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: it's like that what doesn't makes sense Because if you
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: go to a tech show, you're gonna see a guy
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: with a slaughterhouse or a slaughter a Hatchman tattoo, and
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: you're gonna see a guy with a strange music tattoo
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: on the same you.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Know, I like a technician and a fucking a lot
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: of a lot of these.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: People are the same, you know what I mean.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: I always thought they fan base should be called the Strangers.
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: I see what you did there. I like technicians me too,
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: shout to the strange. So yeah, you got you got
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: exposed to that world.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it was amazing. It was amazing. To say, dog,
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: that fucked my life up, I mean, and I think
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: it helped even Kendrick. I think that was a big
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: influence on what Kendrick did because that was this was
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: two thy eleven ten, nine eleven.
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Yep, I think that tour was eleven, But.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: I think I remember he used to watch him on
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: stage like every night.
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: Yeah, because you gotta see you gotta know technic, like
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: Peak Tech with him, Cut Calhoun and Chris Kalico together, Tech.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: Is probably the best hip hop performer. It's probably Tech nine.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: Buster Busters up there, Red and Method is up There's
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: somebody else up there that I'm not thinking about, that
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: super dupe up on stage. But them guys is really special.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: The Tech nine is the go to me. Tech is
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: hard to fuck with, I think, so you don't have
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: to know one of tech songs, And that to me
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: is the key, is that I became a fan of
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: Tech nine not knowing any of his songs. Besides like
- 1:37:15Speaker 2: Slacker and I'm a player, I'm a player, sure, And
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: when I.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: Saw him live, I was like, it's funny because you
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: just songs. You to me, that is that's different. And
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: to me text doing two hours straight.
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: No track behind him wrapping a million miles a minute
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: and dancing, dancing choreography, and I'm talking like Peak Tech tour,
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Tech is a monster And even like recently I said
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: this to him. He did a tour on the show
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: many times, not on my podcast yet, but I mean
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: I've interviewed Tech probably ten times. He had a tour
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: in twenty sixteen or seventeen sixteen, maybe said early seventeen
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: and it was this was when Chris Calico and him
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: or Chris left strange. There's no cut Calhoun. So it
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: was just him and to me, a part of like
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: TeX's live show that was super dope was him and
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: Chris's energy back and forth. But I saw him by
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: himself and he had he had like it was like
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: the gangster, the the clown and the king and he
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: somehow bro it was the craziest texture I've ever been to.
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: And it was just him and the way he like
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: changed his outfitches that work byself. Bro that No, he's
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: a professional, like when he does this shit he does
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: this strange business model is carried on show business.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: Well, strange business model is one that more hip hop
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: labels should adopt. What's hard because you need to take
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: nine and it's hard because of strict Well, the strict
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: part can work, but the tech nine part is the
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: hard part.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Because like when you were on tour with them, you
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: guys had rules, right if you If you didn't.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: No rules, it's just your as gonna miss the bus.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: Oh no, there's rules.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: I mean I wasn't no rules to me? Then what
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: was the rules?
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: There's uh that well they now they have rules like
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: if you agree to go on the tour, you have
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: to abide by the rules or they find you. Yeah,
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: I didn't have that, but that was based on what's
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: the rules. Uh no, nobody on the bus. That isn't
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: like no girls on the bus. No, uh yeah, that
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: was nothing like that, no smoking on the bus. But
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: that was because something had happened to cause there's an
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: incident or an issue that happened that made those rules.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Each one of those rules get like so now when
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: you go on tour with tech, you gotta sign off
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: on Hey, I'm gonna follow these rules. Like Dizzy right,
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: was so frustrated he couldn't smoke on the bus so
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: he would just pay the fine. Fuck.
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: Yeah nah, I didn't have They didn't have some hab.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: Something definitely happened there, but they they before the rules.
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: It might have been a machine gun Kelly Tour that
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: caused them in and put those rules in.
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Before the rules, it was just I don't smoke anyways,
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: they weren't for me. But before the rules, it was
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: just it is very strict, but not strict in rules
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: time like you really do like oh yeah, the bus
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: will these shows in sixty four days. Yeah, you the
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: bus will leave. You don't have a choice.
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: It has no choice to show much going.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: You just fly to the next town.
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: Did you ever miss the bus? Never?
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: In life, I wouldn't. The rules wouldn't matter to me.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: I don't smoke a drink. I mean, I don't even
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: even care about bringing girls.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: On the bus. I wonder what that tour is like.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: If og Muggs has to be security for E forty
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: and Tach done.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: That was kind of cool. I remember that people don't
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: keep running back out on the stage.
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: Og Muggs is kind of like he's tech security to
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: keep running back. Also kind of forty security. He had
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: to keep running back on the stage and run shout
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: out to mud. He had to double up. Yeah, that's
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: probably the roughest tour his his.
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: Uh, he was complaining, complaining, He was complaining anyway.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: So the new album is out, cancel these nuts.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Yeah it's really good man. They telling me it's classic. Now,
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: y'all have fucked it up for me because I felt
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: specially at first, I've been hearing scar Face and me
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: fire moojis about it, and niggas been hitting me tell
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: about how good it is, and people like this classic.
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: Then I tweet nobody before class and I realize the
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: classify every album as a class I'm like, y'all just.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: Fucked it up for me. I thought I had something special,
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: not every album, just four of more than four. I Kanye.
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: A dude told me Kanye had eight classics.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Okay, Kanye's first five albums are a classic, so see,
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: and just ruined it.
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: Time changing.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: He dropped five first six albums are classics.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: He dropped six Doggie styles in a row. He dropped
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: six ematics in a row.
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Kanye's first six albums he.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: Dropped six ematics. He dropped, he dropped, he dropped, fucking.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: Yes, college, college drop out, late registration, graduation. My Beautiful
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: Dark Twisted Fantasy, A Ways and Heartbreaks was before My
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Jesus, those are six classics. Yees,
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: this is a perfect album. Dropped six omatics in a row,
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: and and outside of that, those are the those are
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: the six I have to give it to now. I
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: also happen to feel that if you were to put
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: the Good Friday songs together on a zip file in
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: the blog era, that's a whole other classic album. I
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: also happened to feel that, uh.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: It's just the standards has been lowered.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: Kids see Ghosts is one of Kanye's greatest bodies of
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: work ever for him and Kid.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: Cutting as well. Say as a classic, he just make
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: anything in classic.
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: You said it not?
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: I mean he dropped six ill maatics in the row.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: Fucking Kanye, that's crazy. Six illmatics.
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: He dropped six well, I mean he definitely, yeah, he's
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: I mean six in a row. Yeah, six ill But
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: that's why he's got the greatest hip hop discography of
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: all time.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: Six ellmatics in a row. I mean he had, he
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: had that the first three records. I mean, I'll cast

- 1:43:18Speaker 1: I can't argue because at this point it's like I
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: ain't never heard. I didn't even know hip hop had
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: DMX has one. Somebody told me the DMS had four.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: It's not all this ship is crazy, y'all. Y'all would
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: make it like.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: If you DMX has DMX has one. This dude told
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: me and a half. He told me best of both
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: worlds is classic class Someone told I think you should
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: have blocked him.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: I'm not on blocking nobody. What I never blocked people.
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: Hove has got two undeniable classics, and then the Black album,
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: which is up for debate.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: This dude said, all of these classes. He showed me
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: all the album, all the Kanye Me like, all the
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: people have classics.
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: No, I'll say this. Jay Z's got two undeniables, and
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: then the Black album, which to me is a classic.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: I think Drake has He said, if we talk about songs,
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: hold got one hundred classic songs.
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: Even Chief keep got him. You just chatting, okay, I
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: don't know. This is your people. Here's a white man
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: he talked.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: And then another dude said, I'm so tired of interaction farming.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: This is the most obvious bait I've seen all day.
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: And retards on Twitter eat it up. No one in
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: hip hop classics.
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: Your tweet was no one in hip hop has four classics.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: This is the tweet, So that's the one. Everyone.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: Look how many fucking views are Yes?
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: So someone said outcast, which is true. Damn two point
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: eight million DMX. That person should be blocked.
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: It's going to get worse. This is your people. That's
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: just the madness.
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: J Z four classes conye C might be close. I
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: might have cube is jay Z. Don't uh outcast day
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: the roots. This is your people, y'all. Just say NAS
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: don't have four.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: People said no, man, I see NAS probably top five
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: gods mentioned.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: That's my favorite MC. Ever he don't got four.
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: But this is the point, y'all. Don't understand what a
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: classic album is. Y'all just saying it's a really good
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: album or you think it's almost perfect. That's not There's
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: no way Kanye dropped five Get Richard die Tron's in
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: a row.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: It's just not true. No, he did six.
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: He didn't drop six in a row.
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: Six in a row. And you're right, no way five
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: because it was six.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: He didn't drop six.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: It was six.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: So six of Kanye's album is Get rich of true
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: first six, the first six. Yeah, this is crazy.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I put get Richard die Try.
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: It's funny because people think I'm interacting former Like I
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: thought this was a reasonable point.
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: Oh, I figured, I think how rare it is so
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: people think you were trolling for the for the interaction,
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: I sweart.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: I was like, wait a minute, and my tripping, like,
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: why does this tweet have three million views?
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: Is it safe to say? On the West Coast the
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: person that's in the discussion is Kendrick. I mean, I
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: I don't believe. I don't believe. I don't believe no
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: one has four classic album. There's nobody in the discussion. Well,
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: I think cube, if you look at America's more Death Certificate,
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: then you say straight out of Compton and West Side
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: Connection maybe, but then a lot of people might not
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: look at West Side Connection as a consensus classic.
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: Uncultured twine is what we call those people.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: You feel me, But it's like, I wouldn't think I
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: really thought that. I was like, damn, it's some people
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: that got close to three. Like I thought Kanye. I'm like,
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: Kanye might have three. I thought might have got Yeah,
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: I think j might have three. I was like, Nas
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: probably has for sure.
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: Two.
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: Life is good is better than Illmatic, but Illmatic is
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: a classic, right, I disagree, I understand, but I'm saying
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: Life is Good is a better album then Illmatic, but
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: Illmadic is the classic.
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: Life is Good isn't even a top four NAS album.
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: That's because NAS fans have bad tastes.
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: That's not true. It's good, it was written better. No,
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: I like Life is Good. No, no, no, no, it's
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: fail mad. It was written lost tapes.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: You get what I'm saying, Like, if you listen, I
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: wasn't the biggest.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: It's because you're fucking twelve. And his goat sulta Wayne.
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: Little Wayne is dope. Oh motherfucker said, Lil Wayne got
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: five classic goalbum he said all the Carters.
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: I was like, you should have blocked who ever said that.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: I was like, bro, why, But that's as bad as
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: you saying Kanye got six classes.
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: No, listen, there's an argument to be made that Wayne's
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: got two Carter two and three. I wouldn't even say that.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: And I actually think my favorite one is the best one. Well,
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: I was about to say that my favorite is the
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: Carter one.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: It's the best one.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: I think Birdman Junior is my favorite Little Wayne song ever.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: And then you got I miss my dogs, but.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: You're getting closed. Probably my favorite Little Wayne.
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: Song was on the quarter Cardan Junior is my favorite.
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: But all I'm saying Party two didn't age well, you
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: know what's a classic or close to it? Like father,
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: like son?
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: See see what I'm saying now, and then bird Man
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: and look at this shit and be like, fucking no,
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: fucking stunt of the ship was the ship?
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: But why you got to just say classic?
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: You were signing cash money right, yes, But then now
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: I'll say something bird To look at me and be like,
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: you just go I'm.
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: Not a classic?
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: Why why do we gotta go that far?
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: It's a cult classic? How about that? It's not if
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: you're not at it's not a hip hop consensus.
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: The greatest album out of the South is a cash
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: money album.
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: It's four hundred degrees. That's a class far, yes, by far.
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: Four hundred degrees is the best cash money album of all.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: It's the greatest album out of the South, and guy,
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: four hundred degrees womenI is better.
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: But four hundred degrees is the best cash money album ever.
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: It's the best album out of the South's.
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: And I'm not mad at that take. It's not that's
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: a reasonable take, But all my takes for hip hop
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: takes a reasonable four hit.
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: What's the worst? What's my worst take?
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: Kanye don't have four classics. He's the only one was
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: for well besides Outcast, out Cast got five. I'll cast
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: is bat in one thousand percent. We won't even count Idlewild.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: It was a soundtrack because a classic. No, it was
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: a soundtrack. But it's a classic soundtrack. I mean it's
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: not a bad soundtrack. It's got Hollywood Divorce on there
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: with Lil Wayne, and it's fucked.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: Up because all these people are like guys, my predecessors
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: I look up to, and then it makes me sound
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: so crazy. Okay, like Father, like Son is a cult classic,
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: Like the first big Timers album, Fuck yeah, I got
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: that work.
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: No, it's not the first big Timers.
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: Album, the first one that came on Universal before I.
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: Got that work cult classic. They just listen, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: They just put that album on the DSPs like two
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: years ago, and I was like, bro, what the first
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: big Timers album? Oh? I had that city three different times.
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: You got so scratched up.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: But that don't mean you don't look you don't have
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: to make albums we like a classic. You could just
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: like them.
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: Big timers have a could. I'm are called certain hip
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: hop albums cult classics, like all them Kanye is are
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: cult classic, Drake. Nothing was the same cult classic. I'm
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: not mad at that. I'm not mad at a cultured classic.
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: But then what coaching fifty cent the massacre? Cult classic?
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: No great album, very great album, cult classic.
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: No, you don't have to put classic and great together.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: It's just different.
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: It's a cult classic. It's not a cun bab for
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: mercy cult classic.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: That intro is for sure culture classic. I was just
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: talking about that though. Songs like Zoom is a cult classic.
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: Boozy no Zoom What the commodoes.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Oh, I thaid, well, listen, bro, we're talk about hip hop.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: I'm thinking Boozy zoom zone. We said culture right, So culture,
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: when I say cult classic, I mean like Kill Bill
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: Volume one and two together, it's a cult classic. My
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: favorite movie ever. Cult classic. Yeah.
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: They create a culture behind them and people enjoy them
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: as a group. Here I go, mystical cult classic. Here
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: I go, that is a culture classic.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Because now when Dean Sanders wins, he's play me
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: my music and what's on that? It's that Wow, I
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: ain't know that. Yep.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: So it's certain things. But you just got to stop
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: abusing the.
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: Word classic like I'm not.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: I'm speaking facts. Kanye doesn't have four classes and you're
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: right he has six. He doesn't have six. Kanye may
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: have Kanye may have two classics.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: Kanye's got the single greatest discography we've ever seen, followed
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: by Outcast, followed by ghost Face.
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: Skill up, I'm not mad at the face. I'm not

- 1:51:36Speaker 2: That's what you said? Yep. Yeah.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: Now next time they see you, we have this conversation
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: they see you. It was like Kanye dropped six purple tape.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: Kanye dropped, no fucking six purple tapes. No he didn't,
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: you're right, didn't.

- 1:52:18Speaker 2: just like distributed to anybody. You just handle this, nah,
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: Olivia's collection.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: I made my own distribution company for my mom's just
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: distributing it, putting it out there. It's all good. It's
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: a really great record. They've been telling me it's classic,
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: but y'all fucked it up for me when I got
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: three million people like viewing the tweet saying everybody got
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: four classics, so I'm like them now, I can't respect
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: your fucking opinion on saying my album is a classic classic.
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: I don't. I wouldn't listen to enough. That's like asking
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: me if Tim Duncan has a good game.
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: He does.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: I've never really paid.
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: His fifth best player ever.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: I think in in the top five too, but I
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: just never watched the games, Like, I can't go back
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: to a moment I ever saw Tim Duncan was like man,
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: Tim Duncan in that moment.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: Well, he was cooking the suns in the playoffs my

- 1:53:17Speaker 1: Only I'll say I wouldn't even I wouldn't even put
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: one through five. This is just the best five player
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: because it's five people on the court, so it don't
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: matter who first or fifth, they just all the same.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: That's fair magic Michael Jordan, Lebron, James, Tim Duncan, Bill.
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: Russell, I think he could be Korean?
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: All right, poor, how are you gonna do this year? No,

- 1:53:44Speaker 1: show no say nine, No, nah, I've always struggled with
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: Shack between fifteen and twenty five.
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: You don't think with Shack is tough as that like eleven.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Through twenty five, Shack could be anywhere because even as
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: a sinner like I'm not sure like I wanted some
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: days put him above logic.
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: But he got cooked up by a team in the finals.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: Ye. And then do I put him over Wilt Chamberlain?
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: Yes, really yeah for VP two championship hundred point games,
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: then Ventner of the big It's just it's just either way.
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: I'm fine.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a top five. I just don't know if
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: he's three to five like you said, it's like three
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: to five. He not Kareem or he's not Bill Russell.
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: That's fair. He's not Kareem. He's not Bill Russell.
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: And that's how I start doing my ship that position,
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: someone who I.
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Hate that's starting to get forced themselves into these discussions unfortunately.
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: And Steph Curry's yeah, he's for short top ten. Now
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: he's getting there. He's there. Now he's there.

- 1:54:47Speaker 1: he is like six. I'm gonna this is gonna sound
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: blast missing. This is probably my worst take. I'm going
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: Tony Parker over Zeke.
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: Fuck out of here. Okay, that's your worst tae. At
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: least you acknowledge it to be your worst take.
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's probably my worst take.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: It's Chris Paul top five PG. Ever No is he
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: six seven? No? Really he's ten. No, he's top ten.
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: No, you're crazy, top eleven through fifteen. I'm going Gary
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: Payton over him. I'm going Dennis Johnson from Counting over

- 1:55:26Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah. Nammy just was nasty. So is Paul.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: Paul is fantastic. But you gotta do something with it.
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: You gotta go, you gotta you gotta get there.

- 1:55:38Speaker 2: finals and played the Bucks. Did he play? Yes?
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: I could have swore he was. Well, I guess that's
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: not bad. Yeah, I gotta look at that.
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: He played the whole series.
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I still like a putting. He probably eleven.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: Son Son's winning the finals.
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. No, this is the one play defense.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: Everybody we got Vogel. Vogel make him play. One of
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: the most underrated coaches ever.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: Man, I'm not mad. At that, but he ain't gonna
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: make them play no defense. Yeah, you gotta have some defense.
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: I do like this year because there's no clear cut.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: There's a lot of unknown. The disrespect to Denver is
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: just other worldly.
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: Well, there's a lot bringing the same team. No, they
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: lost Bruce Brown, not Bruce Bowen right now, Bruce Bawn
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: played for the Bruce Brown.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: They lost Bruce Brown. Really, they lost Jeff Green really.
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you get what I'm saying right right, like Denver,
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: that would love.
