- 0:09Speaker 1: We know, motherfucker a bootleg cap podcast. Yes, sir, listen man,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Welcome to another edition of the Boutlet Camp Podcast. First
- 0:16Speaker 1: of all, been a crazy ass a couple fucking weeks,
- 0:21Speaker 1: et cetera. Man, I went to Mexico for a week
- 0:27Speaker 1: from my anniversary. Holidays are here, and I'm gonna touch
- 0:35Speaker 1: on this more extensively in a future episode of the podcast,
- 0:41Speaker 1: probably sometime in January. But yeah, I got laid off
- 0:44Speaker 1: at iHeartMedia. So I'm no longer at Real ninety two three, tentatively, well, no,
- 0:48Speaker 1: definitively no longer at Real ninety two three, which is
- 0:52Speaker 1: not necessarily a bad thing. And time will tell, you know,
- 0:59Speaker 1: as I do some announcements and some things start to
- 1:01Speaker 1: get rolled out as to why it's not a bad thing.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm actually very excited. I actually feel very relieved. I
- 1:07Speaker 1: feel better than I've ever felt. So I want to
- 1:08Speaker 1: shout out, you know, to Reround ninety two three. It
- 1:10Speaker 1: was some budget shit. You know, they fired so many
- 1:13Speaker 1: people since this pandemic started, and they've been nothing but solid.
- 1:17Speaker 1: So shout out to Doc Winner in Read ninety two
- 1:19Speaker 1: three and iHeartMedia for being solid as fuck. My co
- 1:23Speaker 1: host DJ Head. I'm super excited to see the future
- 1:25Speaker 1: of the night show with him and Chuck Dizzle, who
- 1:27Speaker 1: you know, they started home going radio like ten years
- 1:29Speaker 1: ago in Chuck's apartment, So super dope to see them
- 1:32Speaker 1: kind of come for a circle and get a chance
- 1:33Speaker 1: to have that night show. You know, obviously at the
- 1:37Speaker 1: expense of me not being on it anymore, but it
- 1:38Speaker 1: actually feel really good about it. So we actually have
- 1:42Speaker 1: so many interviews that we've been just cramming, quite literally cramming.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And you know, I'm been on vacation, Erica Rock's been
- 1:53Speaker 1: on vacation. Christmas has happened in Erica Rocks out of
- 1:56Speaker 1: town for people who don't know who Erica Rock is.
- 1:58Speaker 1: He produces the show, it cuts it up, does a lot.
- 2:03Speaker 1: So we have so many interviews in the can that
- 2:05Speaker 1: we're gonna be releasing over the next like two two
- 2:08Speaker 1: and a half weeks. Some dope ones, d d G,
- 2:13Speaker 1: Stupid Young Paul Stewart who's got a crazy story, Katory Walker,
- 2:23Speaker 1: Damn Jay Stone, some dope shit coming up, supposed to
- 2:28Speaker 1: be getting on Zoom with Azy too, uh, and then
- 2:31Speaker 1: just man listen. Twenty twenty one of this podcast is
- 2:35Speaker 1: gonna be fucking crazy. Just for me is gonna be crazy.
- 2:38Speaker 1: So I'm just excited. Man. I just want to shout
- 2:39Speaker 1: out to everybody who's been supporting and keep supporting. Much love,
- 2:43Speaker 1: and shout out to all the haters too, man I
- 2:45Speaker 1: really I really enjoy y'all even more than the supporters,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Also tomorrow, if you're listening
- 2:51Speaker 1: to this, it's Wednesday, Tomorrow's Christmas. Even tomorrow, I'm dropping
- 2:56Speaker 1: the podcast with beat Out beat Out Miller from rap Radar,
- 3:00Speaker 1: kind of like the year end wrap up podcast that
- 3:02Speaker 1: we're doing. So pretty excited to have that drop tomorrow
- 3:06Speaker 1: on Christmas Eve where we kind of just go over
- 3:08Speaker 1: the entire year in hip hop, over his list, my list,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and yeah, really dope interview. It was not even interview,
- 3:15Speaker 1: just a really dope podcast would beat Out coming out tomorrow,
- 3:18Speaker 1: So we're going back to back today's episodes with Draco

- 3:26Speaker 1: been locked up since late twenty seventeen early twenty eighteen,
- 3:31Speaker 1: just got out recorded a whole album. This was recorded
- 3:35Speaker 1: a few weeks ago. So this was recorded before it
- 3:38Speaker 1: came out that Drake sent him a feature, so we
- 3:40Speaker 1: did not talk about him working with Drake, but we
- 3:43Speaker 1: had a great interview. He's definitely one of the more
- 3:48Speaker 1: unique artists in the city. You know, I feel like
- 3:50Speaker 1: a lot of people have kind of, you know, done
- 3:53Speaker 1: their own version of what he was doing a few
- 3:55Speaker 1: years ago. So he's out of jail and as a dope,
- 3:59Speaker 1: interesting dude man, And you know, I really enjoyed our conversation.

- 6:09Speaker 1: We about to hit that fifty two mark real quick.
- 6:12Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Let's get into it. The
- 6:13Speaker 1: Bulllet Cat Podcast Draco the Ruler Yo, Bulet Cat podcasts. Man,
- 6:19Speaker 1: this guy right here, his new project is out. He's
- 6:21Speaker 1: fresh out. Well, I mean it's been a few weeks
- 6:23Speaker 1: that you've been out, like three now, like fresh out
- 6:26Speaker 1: from like after the election. Right Yo to homi, Draco
- 6:29Speaker 1: the Ruler is here. Welcome sir, Welcome home too, man exactly.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I haven't seen you everywhere making all the stops. I
- 6:37Speaker 1: was just telling TK how impressed I was. We were
- 6:40Speaker 1: just talking about just the work ethic, how fast you
- 6:43Speaker 1: cranked out a whole project and it wasn't like it
- 6:45Speaker 1: was an ep like like how like first of all,
- 6:50Speaker 1: what about two and a half weeks you recorded this thing.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I really recorded, and like like five days. It took
- 6:58Speaker 1: a little minute to min engineer to mix everything. Were
- 7:02Speaker 1: you like when you're locked up, I know you gotta
- 7:04Speaker 1: be writing, right of course? Every day were you getting
- 7:07Speaker 1: like you were getting beats? Though? Nah, sometimes I was listening.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I was listening to a lot of beasts. But most
- 7:14Speaker 1: of the shit, I was just writing, like just trying
- 7:16Speaker 1: to keep a melody in my head and just writing.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I didn't know that it was just gonna go to
- 7:20Speaker 1: most of the beast that I was doing. But yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 1: that's crazy. So a lot of the records that you wrote,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you came out and just applied those to beats that
- 7:28Speaker 1: you found. Basically most of the beast was jig bees.
- 7:32Speaker 1: But that's when I did the tape in jail and
- 7:34Speaker 1: then the other shit. I was just like I wrote
- 7:37Speaker 1: it like two weeks before I got out. Help me understand,
- 7:40Speaker 1: we know the truth. What are you referring to? What's
- 7:43Speaker 1: the truth. I'm the truth. That's just we know the truth.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Like they didn't go down there, you know, everything, like
- 7:51Speaker 1: me being in jail, everything I went through, all the
- 7:54Speaker 1: people that got on when I was in jail, just
- 7:57Speaker 1: everybody know the truth. It's like when I got out,
- 7:59Speaker 1: everybody like, oh yeah, like it's over for a lot
- 8:02Speaker 1: of people. You know, the real is here. I just like,
- 8:05Speaker 1: we know the truth. That's what I wanted to It's
- 8:07Speaker 1: interesting because you know yourself and Greto, I feel like
- 8:13Speaker 1: kind of really helped kick off a wave in LA.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And I don't think a lot of people, like you said,
- 8:20Speaker 1: we know the truth. I understand what you're alluding to,
- 8:23Speaker 1: but I don't think a lot of people understand that fully.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And it's it's it was. It was bad that you know,
- 8:31Speaker 1: both y'all ended up going away, you know what I'm saying,
- 8:34Speaker 1: Free Grido. But uh, now that you're out, you've seen
- 8:40Speaker 1: a lot of people pop, right, A lot of people
- 8:44Speaker 1: who maybe borrow from what you do sonically, A lot
- 8:47Speaker 1: of people, right, what what is the like like like
- 8:53Speaker 1: you didn't expect to get out of jail, No, not
- 8:56Speaker 1: like that. Right, So now that you're home, like, like,
- 8:58Speaker 1: how do you feel about just the landscape of La
- 9:01Speaker 1: hip hop from when you went into where it is now?
- 9:05Speaker 1: I mean it's cool because it's a lot more like
- 9:08Speaker 1: young people that's on now and there's not as many
- 9:10Speaker 1: like older people that's like trying to like hog it
- 9:14Speaker 1: and shit like and trying to not like put people on.
- 9:17Speaker 1: There's more young people now, so I kind of like
- 9:19Speaker 1: that because when I was first rapping, like I was
- 9:21Speaker 1: getting into it with all the older dudes because they
- 9:23Speaker 1: didn't want to help us out. So when I came
- 9:26Speaker 1: to jail, it's like all the people that was like
- 9:27Speaker 1: under me or like you know, like looked up to me,
- 9:30Speaker 1: they all start getting on. So I kind of like it.
- 9:32Speaker 1: It's kind of cool, you know. Yeah, there's like a
- 9:35Speaker 1: whole like wave of guys like Rouccie, like what Jay Chhike, Like,
- 9:39Speaker 1: there's like and also I feel like too's dope about
- 9:42Speaker 1: the LA scene. It's for the most part, for the
- 9:45Speaker 1: most part, it seems like a lot of camaraderie. Yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I don't for the most part. I mean it's LA.
- 9:51Speaker 1: They ain't gonna be a lot like you can't ever
- 9:53Speaker 1: say it's all you know, everyone's cool because it's La,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you know what I'm But it feels like, you know,
- 9:59Speaker 1: you'll see she jumping on records with with like you
- 10:02Speaker 1: see everyone working together. For the most part, that's got
- 10:07Speaker 1: to feel dope. And then obviously you're you come home.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You're like, you're like a lot of these kids, O G.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Which is kind of crazy to say, yeah, because I'm
- 10:16Speaker 1: not even that old. But I'm an old nigga now,
- 10:18Speaker 1: like and my like my generation, I'm old now. I
- 10:23Speaker 1: guess were you, like, I don't know what were you
- 10:27Speaker 1: able to get access to to music and ship while
- 10:29Speaker 1: you were locked up? Yeah? I heard, I heard a
- 10:30Speaker 1: lot of a lot of stuff and who that that's
- 10:34Speaker 1: popped off since you were in jail? Like, did do
- 10:37Speaker 1: you appreciate their music from from the city, like, you know,
- 10:39Speaker 1: because it's been a lot. It's been a short time.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's been three years, right, three years, A lot happened
- 10:45Speaker 1: a lot of man, I guess, uh, I want to
- 10:48Speaker 1: take ja uh like being know, I like blast like
- 10:57Speaker 1: there's a lot of people though like many people like, man,
- 11:01Speaker 1: it's a lot it's a lot of people. I mean
- 11:03Speaker 1: shortlining them. They was already probable when I was outs. Uh,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I ain't really like I don't know so many people
- 11:10Speaker 1: and so many people like I don't know, but those
- 11:13Speaker 1: like the main ones, and I like, let me ask
- 11:15Speaker 1: you this, because when Nipsey died, it hit the city
- 11:20Speaker 1: like a tidal wave. I had never seen Bro bigger
- 11:23Speaker 1: than even when Kobe died. Rest Kobe, but you being
- 11:25Speaker 1: in jail and experiencing that, you know, whether or not
- 11:28Speaker 1: you had a relationship with him, just being from La,
- 11:30Speaker 1: what was that like, like like going through a loss
- 11:33Speaker 1: like that for La, Like while you're locked up, Like
- 11:35Speaker 1: what was the temperament inside? I mean it was crazy
- 11:38Speaker 1: because I ain't that was the only person that I
- 11:41Speaker 1: could just like be like all right, that's cool. He
- 11:43Speaker 1: still come to the hood and stuff like that. So
- 11:46Speaker 1: after that, I was like, yeah, I ain't coming back,
- 11:48Speaker 1: like I'm not going to be driving the hood doing
- 11:52Speaker 1: the same stuff. Like I'm like, yeah, I could happen
- 11:55Speaker 1: to anybody. That was the only person I can say
- 11:57Speaker 1: that was doing that. So I'm like kind of had
- 12:00Speaker 1: me like, nah, I gotta stay away when I get out. Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 1: it's almost like it it shows you like even like
- 12:07Speaker 1: you know, with all the positivity he was bringing to
- 12:09Speaker 1: this neighborhood, it didn't matter. Yeah, basically, like people don't care.
- 12:13Speaker 1: They just haters. Is that something? Because you know I
- 12:17Speaker 1: think that a lot of people they they go to jail,
- 12:20Speaker 1: will come out and you know, they don't necessarily change
- 12:23Speaker 1: their their habits their circle. Is that something like when
- 12:29Speaker 1: you're when you're in there thinking about like shit, when
- 12:32Speaker 1: I get out, I got to reevaluate this, this this,
- 12:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah for sure, for sure. It's a lot of
- 12:39Speaker 1: people I'm dealing with that right now. Sure, yeah, I
- 12:43Speaker 1: got it. Yeah, that's all I was thinking about who
- 12:46Speaker 1: to keep around, who not to keep around, how it's
- 12:48Speaker 1: gonna be. I just didn't know it was gonna be
- 12:50Speaker 1: like this when I got out, Like people was telling
- 12:52Speaker 1: me in jail, like you don't know, like it be
- 12:54Speaker 1: people that just came to jail, Like you don't know, bro,
- 12:57Speaker 1: Like you know, you think you know, like, but you
- 12:59Speaker 1: don't know how it's gonna be when you get all
- 13:01Speaker 1: like like it's a whole different, like you way bigger
- 13:05Speaker 1: than what you think about. You've just been in jail
- 13:06Speaker 1: for a long time, so you don't know. Then when
- 13:09Speaker 1: I got I was like, wow, it is different. It's
- 13:11Speaker 1: crazy now yeah, I mean, I mean gifted a curse,
- 13:14Speaker 1: right you're going to Joe almost added to like the
- 13:15Speaker 1: allure of of your of you as an artist. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: pretty much kind of like when Boozie got out, he
- 13:20Speaker 1: was you know what I'm saying, Like it just added
- 13:22Speaker 1: to like, you know what I'm saying, Like, and I
- 13:25Speaker 1: think also your the circumstances of your case were very
- 13:29Speaker 1: it felt like some bullshit. So even people who necessarily
- 13:32Speaker 1: weren't tapping with your music, when they found out about
- 13:34Speaker 1: what was going on, they were like, Yo, this is crazy,
- 13:36Speaker 1: Like people are just rooting for you. You know what
- 13:38Speaker 1: I'm saying, there's a lot of people who wasn't a
- 13:41Speaker 1: lot of people who wasn't rooted for me, who wasn't
- 13:44Speaker 1: rooting for you. I'm not saying the same names, but
- 13:46Speaker 1: like who like, uh, the older does the people that
- 13:50Speaker 1: have been in the game for a minute, la rappers?
- 13:54Speaker 1: That's fair. I could see that. Yeah, Yo, what what
- 14:00Speaker 1: do you think? Because it was this judge that was
- 14:03Speaker 1: really she had like a vendetta for you, right she
- 14:05Speaker 1: was because she did not like me at all. I
- 14:07Speaker 1: don't know what it was. Maybe because I was a
- 14:10Speaker 1: rapper because she told me that in Coral. I don't
- 14:12Speaker 1: know if you think because you're a rapper, like you
- 14:14Speaker 1: don't got to listen to the rules. I'm like, you
- 14:16Speaker 1: could have just said this for a jump. Don't make
- 14:18Speaker 1: it seem like you don't like me. Bro, Like it's
- 14:20Speaker 1: almost like an example or some shit. Pretty much, that's
- 14:23Speaker 1: exactly what it was. I mean, I was, I still
- 14:25Speaker 1: was trying. It didn't work though, So then she got
- 14:28Speaker 1: bounced right in the election. Is that what happened? That's
- 14:30Speaker 1: the day she got or it was the d the dager,
- 14:37Speaker 1: But once the election happened, Yeah, she got kicked the book.
- 14:40Speaker 1: It almost happened like simultaneously. It was like the election happened,
- 14:43Speaker 1: and then it was like, oh, he's coming home. Pretty
- 14:45Speaker 1: much all of a sudden, they had a deal. All
- 14:48Speaker 1: of a sudden, you can go home right now. I'm like,
- 14:51Speaker 1: after all this, like y'all could have been letting me
- 14:54Speaker 1: go right right, right right? How many you know? It's
- 14:57Speaker 1: crazy because in the music industry, we have a lot
- 15:00Speaker 1: of people who are acquaintances. Yeah, very few people who
- 15:03Speaker 1: are real friends, right. You make music with a lot
- 15:07Speaker 1: of people who was checking in on you the most
- 15:10Speaker 1: while you were locked up. In the hip hop community,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I mean, I'm you know, artists wise shzz Black, oh
- 15:19Speaker 1: jeez uh yeah, nobody else besides like Nah just them,
- 15:27Speaker 1: Ohlo Yatio Yachty, nobody else. Yo Yati is always tapped
- 15:33Speaker 1: in bro and he's on the album Yeah were you
- 15:37Speaker 1: you guys you guys had a relationship prior to Yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 1: I was, Yeah, I was fucking up. That's my boy, yo.
- 15:46Speaker 1: What what what date did you get locked up? January sixth,
- 15:50Speaker 1: twenty eighteen. It's crazy how many people's careers are over
- 15:55Speaker 1: since then. Yeah. Crazy. A lot of people came and went,
- 16:00Speaker 1: came and with in two years. Yeah. I mean, you know,
- 16:04Speaker 1: you can only be it can only make so many
- 16:06Speaker 1: memes out of you before you get tired of that,
- 16:08Speaker 1: like before the music has to catch it. I mean,
- 16:11Speaker 1: like the music gotta be good adventure. At some point,
- 16:13Speaker 1: it's like, all right, it was funny, now jokes up
- 16:17Speaker 1: right over? Is that something for you? Like getting out
- 16:20Speaker 1: and this there? Now there's TikTok. Yeah, now there's stuff
- 16:24Speaker 1: like that ship that wasn't going on when you can
- 16:27Speaker 1: win in that's what they like. Damn. I gotta be
- 16:29Speaker 1: like a dancer nigga to get on like like because
- 16:33Speaker 1: every president that I hadn't heard of, like I didn't hurt,
- 16:35Speaker 1: they song like be hard and then I found out
- 16:37Speaker 1: they got a dance to it, and that's what blew
- 16:39Speaker 1: it up. Like, man, I'm not a dancer, bro, Like
- 16:42Speaker 1: it's like and like TikTok is like the one app
- 16:44Speaker 1: that like if you're like a real one, you you're
- 16:46Speaker 1: like dog, that's goofy. Yeah, Like I mean I made
- 16:50Speaker 1: one just because they made you gotta make that. But
- 16:52Speaker 1: I was just like right right, right, right right, all right, bro, TikTok? Yes,
- 16:57Speaker 1: what is the one thing that changed since you went in,
- 17:00Speaker 1: like since you got out, whether it's TikTok or the
- 17:02Speaker 1: industry or whatever that like surprised you the most when
- 17:04Speaker 1: you got out. Man, it's COVID nineteen shit. Man, I
- 17:08Speaker 1: didn't know it was this serious with the mask and
- 17:10Speaker 1: all that, Like they really like I was in a
- 17:12Speaker 1: bereage and they're like you have to put your mask
- 17:14Speaker 1: on on. I'm like, it is on. I just pulled
- 17:15Speaker 1: it down to drink something. Bro Like he was tripping
- 17:18Speaker 1: on me. It was kicked me out the wall. I
- 17:19Speaker 1: was like, bro, it's not this serious. Bro. So in
- 17:22Speaker 1: jail they weren't like no. All they would do was
- 17:25Speaker 1: like quarantine, like the whole row. And then in two
- 17:29Speaker 1: weeks later it's like, Okay, you guys are all cool now.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I'm like them, they they didn't test you, Yeah, they
- 17:35Speaker 1: tested everybody Yeah, that shit hurt. Oh that ship it's
- 17:38Speaker 1: like a brain ta. Yeah. I was like when I
- 17:41Speaker 1: seen it on the commercial, I didn't think it was
- 17:43Speaker 1: like that, but they stuck it all the way up there,
- 17:45Speaker 1: like oh no, I started pulling back. It was stuck
- 17:47Speaker 1: in there. I've never done cocaine, but I just assumed
- 17:49Speaker 1: that that might be what it feels like. Yeah, I've
- 17:52Speaker 1: never I've never put nothing in my nose. I was scared,
- 17:55Speaker 1: but when they did, I was like, this muss would
- 17:56Speaker 1: have been like the sniffle line or something. That shit sucks. Yeah. Nah, Yo,
- 18:03Speaker 1: So before you went in, uh you were you? Obviously
- 18:07Speaker 1: there's a very public beef between you and r J.
- 18:10Speaker 1: No more no no more. I was gonna ask you, man,
- 18:13Speaker 1: just a nice guy. You guys got past that, Yeah,
- 18:17Speaker 1: I mean we got pasted it before I went to jail.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So I don't know what. I don't know. I guess
- 18:21Speaker 1: that was the only thing they could use in my case.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't know, to make it look like something. I
- 18:25Speaker 1: guess how dope was the moment? Were you in jail
- 18:29Speaker 1: when him and Grito did their show? Yeah? Did you
- 18:32Speaker 1: hear about it when you were in jail? I don't
- 18:33Speaker 1: know what told Grieda to do it. I told him,
- 18:36Speaker 1: don't take it. Don't take it for it's not gonna
- 18:39Speaker 1: go nowhere, make some money off it. If you're gonna
- 18:41Speaker 1: do it, then they had to shoe. So, yeah, was
- 18:45Speaker 1: that dope to see, like because that was a I
- 18:47Speaker 1: think that's gonna like in ten years, twenty years from now,
- 18:50Speaker 1: that's gonna be one of those moments in LA hip
- 18:51Speaker 1: hop history that we might not have known how special
- 18:55Speaker 1: it was, but the fact that those two crews were
- 18:58Speaker 1: on stage at the same time it's happened. It was peaceful. Yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: that's like. I guess that was like the first verses then,
- 19:04Speaker 1: if you want it was the first verses if you
- 19:06Speaker 1: want to be technical, Yeah, one hundred percent, that's Rre.
- 19:10Speaker 1: What about what Grido? Uh you do you keep in
- 19:12Speaker 1: contact with him right right in? Yeah? How's he doing?
- 19:15Speaker 1: How's his spirits? I was talking to him in jail.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I stopped talking him cause he said I was getting
- 19:20Speaker 1: him in trouble, So I stopped talking. You guys in
- 19:23Speaker 1: the same job, uh, Texas, But I don't know. I
- 19:26Speaker 1: guess he said he got in trouble because they knew.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I don't know he said they knew that he was
- 19:30Speaker 1: another jail car or something. I don't know. Ship did
- 19:34Speaker 1: they still do the thing in jail because all my
- 19:36Speaker 1: cousins are in prison, and they would to do three ways.
- 19:39Speaker 1: They used to like yell on the phone like for
- 19:41Speaker 1: a while to like just like confuse the phone lines
- 19:45Speaker 1: and then patch someone in on three way. That they
- 19:46Speaker 1: still do that. Now you don't got to do that anymore.
- 19:48Speaker 1: You could just call somebody else, call him on. Nah.
- 19:53Speaker 1: And that must have been a long time that, you
- 19:57Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about, Yeah, because they used to
- 19:59Speaker 1: be you know, yeah, if you try to die and
- 20:01Speaker 1: nothing that maron, it's not gonna yet. They stopped doing that.
- 20:04Speaker 1: You can just call on now. That was like six
- 20:06Speaker 1: years or seven years ago. You know when I was like,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I remember my cousin used to just hit my phone
- 20:10Speaker 1: and be like, yo, look I got my celly. He's
- 20:12Speaker 1: gonna three way his baby mama, she's gonna give you
- 20:14Speaker 1: some money. You're gonna send it to me, but I
- 20:17Speaker 1: gotta make this noise. And it's sometime they're blowing the
- 20:20Speaker 1: phone or something here the buttons that they so being
- 20:24Speaker 1: locked up. Are you a celebrity, Yeah, for sure, more
- 20:29Speaker 1: than the streets you run into all the people that
- 20:31Speaker 1: all the people that comment on your pictures and stuff.
- 20:33Speaker 1: They be like I was at this show, I was
- 20:35Speaker 1: doing this, I comment on your picture on this day.
- 20:37Speaker 1: But you never know because it's jail, so you don't
- 20:39Speaker 1: think like people groupies like that? Is that a Is
- 20:41Speaker 1: it a good thing to be in your position like that?
- 20:44Speaker 1: Like it's good and bad because you might have, like
- 20:47Speaker 1: the people that don't like you. It's easy to like,
- 20:49Speaker 1: if you're gonna walk the main line, it's easy for
- 20:51Speaker 1: people to get you. Then you got the people that
- 20:53Speaker 1: like you, You got the police that like you, but
- 20:55Speaker 1: then you got the police that don't like you. So yeah,
- 20:57Speaker 1: it's kind of having was there guards that would look
- 21:00Speaker 1: out for you, Yeah, it's a bunch of them. It
- 21:03Speaker 1: was like two or three that didn't like me. I
- 21:04Speaker 1: don't know what it was, but well most because there's
- 21:07Speaker 1: there's the cool guards because it's not a bad career,
- 21:10Speaker 1: make it a decent check. And then there's the ones
- 21:12Speaker 1: who are like they put out they take out all
- 21:14Speaker 1: their aggression of the prisoners because they're either racist or
- 21:17Speaker 1: they hate their life. Yeah, you know they bitchegan fucked exact.
- 21:21Speaker 1: They're working whatever, all these shifts and over time, and
- 21:24Speaker 1: they take it out on you, Yeah, because they mad.
- 21:27Speaker 1: You got the ones that just here just because it's
- 21:30Speaker 1: a job. They don't even care about the job. It's
- 21:32Speaker 1: just a good paying job. So they're like, all right, whatever,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I listen to your music, all right, that's cool. Sometimes
- 21:38Speaker 1: you got the ones that act like they listen to
- 21:39Speaker 1: on music, who they know who you are, but they
- 21:41Speaker 1: don't really fuck with you. It's a lot of those too.
- 21:44Speaker 1: That's so funny. Yo. The thing that you you just
- 21:47Speaker 1: mentioned in it, I think it was a no jumper,
- 21:49Speaker 1: but you talked about how Soldier Boy was locked up
- 21:51Speaker 1: there in PC. For people who don't know that's protective customer.
- 21:55Speaker 1: So usually PC is child molesters yep, like sex offenders,
- 22:01Speaker 1: child molester. People don't want to write snitches, et cetera.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Who wants to be out with him. That's what's confusing
- 22:10Speaker 1: to me, right because you if you're in that position,
- 22:13Speaker 1: you almost have to ask for that or fight for that.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Or do you think that the jail realized we got
- 22:19Speaker 1: to put him over here because he Soldier Boy that
- 22:21Speaker 1: Chris Brown wasn't in PC. So why was he in PC,
- 22:26Speaker 1: Like Chris Brown wasn't in PC. Hey, Chris Brown, real
- 22:31Speaker 1: one lottle key, That's what I'm saying. So is like
- 22:35Speaker 1: and he's like a like an R and B pop dude.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So how if he didn't go to PC, what is
- 22:39Speaker 1: his excuse? He's big draco against the rapper whatever. Then
- 22:45Speaker 1: he's spouted to be killing the nigga before, Like, bro, crazy.
- 22:49Speaker 1: It's funny because you were in jail during his whole entire,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like sixty days. Yeah, I was there. His career got
- 22:56Speaker 1: revamped for about two months and then like you said,
- 22:58Speaker 1: it was just the mean thing. It was really just
- 23:00Speaker 1: the meme moment, and then the meme was over. You know.
- 23:04Speaker 1: That's how it is, man. You know, I didn't realize
- 23:07Speaker 1: it's like that with this rappers like people do anything
- 23:10Speaker 1: to get attention. It's like they just do. Like I
- 23:12Speaker 1: didn't think it really would like that until I started seeing,
- 23:14Speaker 1: like damn, like people really just start beeps because they
- 23:18Speaker 1: like about to put out a makes table album or
- 23:20Speaker 1: something like, Bro, it's not that serious. If you popping,
- 23:23Speaker 1: you popping whatever, take some time. Tiger came back. If
- 23:28Speaker 1: Tiger came back, I tell this man, you're just one
- 23:31Speaker 1: hit away because people counted that man out. That's what
- 23:34Speaker 1: I'm saying. And I heard when you went to jail,
- 23:38Speaker 1: it was over for Tiger. I heard this ship Aladio.
- 23:42Speaker 1: What was that that? Oh? Yeah? This okay? I like this.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Then I started hearing back to backst I was like, wow,
- 23:51Speaker 1: he's been having a run. Yeah, he's been having a
- 23:54Speaker 1: run for sure. Yeah, shout out to Tiger. Uh. Let
- 23:59Speaker 1: me ask you this. I saw that you back in
- 24:01Speaker 1: the day had well you had a relationship with Mustard.
- 24:04Speaker 1: He to try to sign you, you would essentially kind
- 24:08Speaker 1: of obviously didn't go that way. What's your relationship with
- 24:13Speaker 1: him now? I feel like Mustards evolved a lot as
- 24:16Speaker 1: far as because I feel like, you know, back in
- 24:18Speaker 1: the day, he had some issues with some people in
- 24:19Speaker 1: the city, and I feel like he's gotten pasted a
- 24:21Speaker 1: lot of those issues and any has he tapped in
- 24:26Speaker 1: with you? Do you get straight? I talked to him.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I was like, horror, feelersy straight. He's just telling me
- 24:32Speaker 1: about it. Just stay out the way ship like that.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I know that. Other than that, we cool.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I ain't got no problems with him. I'm cool with everybody. Man,
- 24:42Speaker 1: I don't be nobody straight. Hey that's good man. Yeah,
- 24:46Speaker 1: that's how you stay out, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 24:47Speaker 1: pretty much because I figured it out, Like I was
- 24:50Speaker 1: talking to my brother and people, They're just like, we're
- 24:53Speaker 1: starting to think, like people just want to be with
- 24:55Speaker 1: you on purpose, so you could go back to jail again.
- 24:57Speaker 1: And then I started thinking about it him like like, yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 1: that might be. That might be true, all right, because
- 25:04Speaker 1: I wasn't getting out talking shit to nobody. I mean,
- 25:07Speaker 1: I talk shit all the time, but I wasn't just
- 25:09Speaker 1: getting out just talking. I started seeing people come for me.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I started seeing people telling me. I'm like, damn, you
- 25:13Speaker 1: would think people would be happy, Like I didn't tell
- 25:15Speaker 1: on nobody. I beat the death penalty. I put a
- 25:19Speaker 1: lot of like I'm the reason a lot of people
- 25:21Speaker 1: feeding their kids. They got on when I was in
- 25:23Speaker 1: jail off of my shit, bro, Like everyone knows this.
- 25:26Speaker 1: It's not a secret, it's my ship. But you know,
- 25:30Speaker 1: I guess people were unappreciated. And then it's almost like
- 25:33Speaker 1: imagine if like Tupac came back in the year two thousand,
- 25:37Speaker 1: it would just be fucked up for like job rules
- 25:39Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying. Yeah, wait a minute,
- 25:42Speaker 1: the real one is here. Oh yeah, you know what
- 25:44Speaker 1: I'm saying, A nose ring and all that. Like, imagine
- 25:49Speaker 1: if like out of nowhere Tupac just dropped dropped back
- 25:52Speaker 1: to Earth in the year two thousand, it would have
- 25:54Speaker 1: been rough out here for a lot of people. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I don't know if you would have made it in
- 25:58Speaker 1: twenty whole different world. You're right, it's a different world. Hey,
- 26:03Speaker 1: put everything on the internet and everything is like I
- 26:07Speaker 1: can't get on live or none of that. Every time
- 26:09Speaker 1: I get on live, it's on YouTube. They snatch everything
- 26:11Speaker 1: I do down. They probably had half the songs already
- 26:14Speaker 1: on YouTube before they came out. Like whatever, Hey, real quick,
- 26:18Speaker 1: E do me your favorite text head telling them in
- 26:20Speaker 1: the middle of an interview and ask him if he
- 26:24Speaker 1: got the showloaded. If not, I'm gonna need you to
- 26:26Speaker 1: grab my laptop and you know how to load the
- 26:28Speaker 1: mix right on next gen, I'm gonna have to have
- 26:31Speaker 1: you load the mixes real quick. So fucking the radio
- 26:34Speaker 1: show starts at seven o'clock. Damn the COVID. We can't
- 26:37Speaker 1: do we can't go to the station. Yeah, actually, let's
- 26:41Speaker 1: take let's take like a thirty second pause. I'll just
- 26:43Speaker 1: load the mix real quick. Just hit me. Yeah, he
- 26:54Speaker 1: just called me right now, all right, let me see something.
- 26:59Speaker 1: We'll take a find minute pause. Mm hmm. Telling them
- 27:03Speaker 1: with the radio people, we need a clean Yeah, I
- 27:07Speaker 1: run that ship tomorrow night, bro, Actually I run a
- 27:09Speaker 1: Monday night because tomorrow we already got recorded, so Monday.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I got you on Monday. What's what's the record that
- 27:17Speaker 1: y'all are gonna push? Uh? Do you not know yet?
- 27:20Speaker 1: Why you gonna matter a clean? Verdon right? Load the
- 27:27Speaker 1: seventh he did? Okay, tell them the load is at too. Mmmm. Alright, cool,
- 27:37Speaker 1: we're good. Wanting to make sure, he said, you're good
- 27:42Speaker 1: till like seventh twelve. How him to load his eight
- 27:45Speaker 1: o'clock to load Acock can't load all his mixes. We
- 27:52Speaker 1: can pick back up whenever he ready. Yeah, say you
- 27:55Speaker 1: have been in the Yeah, the change coming up here?
- 28:00Speaker 1: Chase fa No, No, you don't know Chase infinite. Oh yeah, yah, yeah,
- 28:04Speaker 1: I know Chase. He didn't come up here with him.
- 28:07Speaker 1: That's my bro. I know Benny for years. Bro. We
- 28:10Speaker 1: interviewed him first twenty seventeen. Wow, I've been a fan
- 28:13Speaker 1: of that hooker's eel the way I think I've been
- 28:15Speaker 1: on it. Planet Asia, man, Planet Asia, that's bro. So
- 28:21Speaker 1: my background remember back in the day Planet Asia and
- 28:24Speaker 1: Roscoe had a group called the calim Asians. Asian like,
- 28:27Speaker 1: my bro, Like, can you have him come on the show? Easy? Yo,
- 28:33Speaker 1: He's a legend to me. Bro, you gotta understand. I
- 28:36Speaker 1: grew up. My best friend in the world's brother is
- 28:39Speaker 1: RockA from Dilated People's So I grew up around Dilated.
- 28:44Speaker 1: So you know the brother got a brother in jail? Right? Yeah? No,
- 28:48Speaker 1: My my best friend's name is Ramsas. He lives in Phoenix. Okay, okay, okay, okay,
- 28:52Speaker 1: but I know, buddy, I know, I don't know. It's brothers.
- 28:55Speaker 1: But Rockers like family. So I came up twelve thirteen
- 28:58Speaker 1: going to Dilated shows, the Drastic five shows, just tapped
- 29:02Speaker 1: in with all that boom back ship bus driver, all
- 29:05Speaker 1: that l a ship. So Rockers brother, he's very Jesus
- 29:14Speaker 1: which brother, I'm not sure the brother I think? He went, Yeah,
- 29:17Speaker 1: that's that's how I know the story. He was like, Yo,
- 29:20Speaker 1: you got a he was talking about rock the Balls,
- 29:24Speaker 1: last member of short Line, the last Face. Yeah, dude,
- 29:30Speaker 1: if he's down to come up here. I know he
- 29:32Speaker 1: just dropped something this year, him coming love to do
- 29:35Speaker 1: a freestyle we did. We just had Benny do one
- 29:38Speaker 1: bron he gonna kill me. I love playing it, bro,
- 29:40Speaker 1: I just I had the far I come by. I
- 29:42Speaker 1: had to tell head who bro Head didn't know who
- 29:44Speaker 1: the far I was. I bet I had to put
- 29:47Speaker 1: you know, heads like like up on like the O
- 29:49Speaker 1: eight O nine l A wrapping up. I had to
- 29:51Speaker 1: put him on that backpack ship. I was like, listen, bro,
- 29:54Speaker 1: there's a whole other way of l A rap. You
- 29:56Speaker 1: never even listened to. Let me put you on FAM.
- 29:59Speaker 1: You had to far alright, come by the station in
- 30:00Speaker 1: freestyle when he put his arm out a couple of
- 30:02Speaker 1: years ago. Oh man, sorry, I miss field, the agony
- 30:05Speaker 1: all that ship so fire. My business partner there, Papasso,
- 30:10Speaker 1: I know so all everybody naming me and Chase met
- 30:14Speaker 1: each other in ninety so listen to Chasing Ship before
- 30:18Speaker 1: when he was rapping. We all met each other. He
- 30:21Speaker 1: was in college. I was down there selling weed in
- 30:24Speaker 1: Atlanta in ninety three, and then he graduated and said
- 30:27Speaker 1: I'm coming back to l A twenty five years ago,
- 30:30Speaker 1: said I met you out there. His uncle, I mean,
- 30:32Speaker 1: his cousin is Bigger Beat Bigger Bea was Bigger be
- 30:36Speaker 1: fucking a. B B Records now was Benny b Bend
- 30:42Speaker 1: was Loud Records. And he had this thing that was
- 30:45Speaker 1: very instrumental that nobody talks about in l A history.
- 30:48Speaker 1: And they had this this this fucking night they would
- 30:53Speaker 1: bring all the loud artists met the man, woe all
- 30:56Speaker 1: lim it was ready. Then was the days bro and
- 31:03Speaker 1: it was called Unity. Yes you and I t y.
- 31:05Speaker 1: That's where all the LA rappers used to go to.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I used to always hear Dilated talking about that. That
- 31:10Speaker 1: was when I first moved out here. Unity. That's a
- 31:14Speaker 1: legendary night. Come on man, and that that was that's
- 31:18Speaker 1: from there. The person that was around our a's that
- 31:22Speaker 1: made it that we all kind of centered around was
- 31:24Speaker 1: X and the Axes group. The Liquid Crew was that well,
- 31:28Speaker 1: he was from the liquor. He was liquid. He made
- 31:31Speaker 1: his own things strong, strong, steady. Of course, that's how
- 31:37Speaker 1: I know Picasso, my business partners. He is the baby
- 31:40Speaker 1: of that. He came with another like I watched him.
- 31:43Speaker 1: He was and then they Yeah, y'all wouldn't say fucking more,
- 31:48Speaker 1: you know it was. It wasn't very everybody n you know,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I mean you were you're there. I wasn't there. I'm
- 31:53Speaker 1: from a fans perspective. And by the way, you gotta
- 31:56Speaker 1: remember exits doing movies with the Rock By the way,
- 31:58Speaker 1: after they left, I love that project that they were
- 32:01Speaker 1: mad Live. Oh my god, man, it's then my brothers
- 32:05Speaker 1: didn't really that strong Arm Sety Math album was so good.
- 32:08Speaker 1: That's great, man, that's it's all this bro, this is
- 32:13Speaker 1: we I feel like that generation with the first La
- 32:16Speaker 1: Street Due. Remember there's still people from the streets that
- 32:19Speaker 1: but don't want to They want to rap a certain way,
- 32:22Speaker 1: still seeking. Like you said, how Draco really raps? Like
- 32:25Speaker 1: Draco is not a melody rapper. He's a rapper. So
- 32:29Speaker 1: everything he said makes sense why I'm here if you
- 32:32Speaker 1: look at it. Rito was the only person that was
- 32:34Speaker 1: in art clique. It's like a plot. I just signed
- 32:37Speaker 1: a new kid from a content called Wally Wally Disinsan.
- 32:42Speaker 1: He's on Cample. He's like a melody rapper. He's like
- 32:45Speaker 1: a blast or a Caitlin. Yeah, Yo, that's crazy man,
- 32:50Speaker 1: that you come from that world, Because dude, I was
- 32:52Speaker 1: like thirteen fourteen at Fat Beats in the back fucking
- 32:57Speaker 1: during the Expansion Team album release party, meeting Rod Digger
- 33:00Speaker 1: for the first time, meeting cut Cammis to meeting all
- 33:03Speaker 1: them like I'm a kid, Bro, I used to deal
- 33:07Speaker 1: with the outsiders when she was at the Outsider Like
- 33:10Speaker 1: I got a real hip hop story, I really, I
- 33:13Speaker 1: really and and from them days to hear. Like most
- 33:16Speaker 1: of my friends, they like if they're not in the industry,
- 33:19Speaker 1: they're like insurance people and other people grow out. Yeah,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I mean, if you know Buddy Buddy was a part
- 33:26Speaker 1: of Open Bar with X. That's Rocker's brother, Buddy. I
- 33:30Speaker 1: probably got to see so Buddy's a lawyer now, like
- 33:33Speaker 1: he's like a fucking huge immigration lawyer. You know what
- 33:35Speaker 1: I'm I know, rocking them see Rocker and I was
- 33:39Speaker 1: cooler with with so Is from Venice, you know, and
- 33:44Speaker 1: he was him and Alt. It was always more with
- 33:47Speaker 1: the West Side, Rocker from I think, so I never
- 33:51Speaker 1: really know I stayed in this, but I just never
- 33:54Speaker 1: really they thought with Rocker like that, like honestly, Bro,
- 33:58Speaker 1: Like I grew up a hip hop kid, and then
- 34:00Speaker 1: when I went to my first Dilated shows on the platform,
- 34:03Speaker 1: came out. That show changed my life because I saw
- 34:07Speaker 1: bad Boo with my own eyes and it fucked my
- 34:10Speaker 1: head up. He was man, That man was so crazy
- 34:16Speaker 1: favors yeap when he's something crazy. I did Friday Night
- 34:21Speaker 1: Flavors in Phoenix. They gave us the co sign to
- 34:23Speaker 1: do our own version of the show in Phoenix, and
- 34:25Speaker 1: O wait, so I was doing my own Friday Night
- 34:28Speaker 1: Flavors in Phoenix at kk FR. Yeah, I know you.
- 34:31Speaker 1: You came from out there, but yeah, that's why I'm
- 34:33Speaker 1: in this ship because I'm a real hip hop kid. Bro,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I ain't like I'm out for you. Let me ask
- 34:38Speaker 1: you this, because how do you make the transition from it?
- 34:42Speaker 1: Because it's like that East generation. I feel like this
- 34:47Speaker 1: sad kid is in a little mosy now right and
- 34:50Speaker 1: then it is too whatever the next big street, Like
- 34:54Speaker 1: what what was the transition for me to take you
- 34:57Speaker 1: from Dilated down to the other? What was so for me?
- 35:02Speaker 1: What happened was I was a huge DMX no limit
- 35:07Speaker 1: like as a kid, that was the ship I loved.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Right then we went to my first Dilated show with
- 35:14Speaker 1: my best friend Ramses, and I had already been the
- 35:18Speaker 1: kid who would go back and find all the five
- 35:20Speaker 1: Mic albums that the source ever rated. So I went
- 35:23Speaker 1: and bought like Brand Nubian and tried, Like all these
- 35:26Speaker 1: these fucking albums came out when I was two years old,
- 35:28Speaker 1: I know that, but I would just dig and just
- 35:30Speaker 1: re listen learn them all, you know what I'm saying.
- 35:33Speaker 1: And so then Dilated just opened my mind to that
- 35:37Speaker 1: whole world and from there, like I loved J five,
- 35:42Speaker 1: Dilated and then Gang Star like Gangstar Wu Tang. I
- 35:47Speaker 1: was also a huge Wu Tang fan before I fucked
- 35:50Speaker 1: with that, but like all that shit just really like
- 35:54Speaker 1: I would say, for about a three or four year
- 35:55Speaker 1: period in my life, I was like a hip hop snob.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Fuck all that commercial shit it is right under you know,
- 36:02Speaker 1: every I think we all had that. I lived it
- 36:04Speaker 1: for years. Not even just say I lived it for years,
- 36:07Speaker 1: but I just think that I just learned to just
- 36:10Speaker 1: appreciate every artist and all the music for what it is,
- 36:14Speaker 1: right like like yo, Like even in retrospect, like you
- 36:18Speaker 1: could look back and be like, yo, Luda Chris was
- 36:20Speaker 1: this big ass commercial rapper, but Luda was dope, super dope,
- 36:24Speaker 1: super dope, you know what I'm saying. Like that, like
- 36:26Speaker 1: and and even the ship that Like, it took me
- 36:28Speaker 1: a while to get to the point where I would
- 36:30Speaker 1: embrace Like I remember when Walker Flock of Flame first
- 36:34Speaker 1: came out. I still I was. I was twenty two,
- 36:37Speaker 1: twenty one, and I was still I was hating. I
- 36:39Speaker 1: was like, this ship is wow, I have a connection
- 36:42Speaker 1: to that. So I have an artist from conference I
- 36:47Speaker 1: raised in a hip hop game. His name is Rogi Hoodi.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Yeah all there. I mean I connected. He's on that label, right, yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 1: he's on He's on He's on our baron Whatelse, and
- 36:55Speaker 1: he was on I Took You. He was part of
- 36:57Speaker 1: Walker's Yeah, he's on the tape Walker front Waka Belly. Yeah. Yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 1: But I went in with with walking them because I
- 37:04Speaker 1: know what, uncle, I just I just shared all that,
- 37:06Speaker 1: like these preconceived notions of like what is like it's
- 37:10Speaker 1: all hip hop, right, you know what I'm saying? Like,
- 37:13Speaker 1: and and Walker is fired, I mean it wouldn't be
- 37:17Speaker 1: no chief. Keeping one hard in the Paint is like
- 37:22Speaker 1: one of the illest records you could ever play in
- 37:24Speaker 1: a club or a show like and so yeah, man,
- 37:27Speaker 1: I just you know, for me, like I appreciate, really
- 37:31Speaker 1: appreciate what's going on this year because guys like Freddy Gibbs,
- 37:34Speaker 1: guys like Griselda, like Royce just got nominated for a
- 37:38Speaker 1: fucking Grammy. Roy It's a beautiful thing when those names
- 37:44Speaker 1: are nominated. But and then last year Pushing t got nominated.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Last year, it was like it was I don't know,
- 37:54Speaker 1: but I know who he is used to be a rapper. Okay,
- 37:57Speaker 1: a lot of people don't know he's being an underground rapper.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And to see TJ's career from rappings to being in
- 38:06Speaker 1: the centers like this of uh commercial rap and then
- 38:11Speaker 1: being able to put his hand back out before you
- 38:13Speaker 1: get to this to to a mad live Freddy Goods
- 38:18Speaker 1: because they put that record out last year on his label.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Then he told me to see that and then where
- 38:26Speaker 1: we are right now, and then even I think this
- 38:29Speaker 1: is I don't think we will be able to talk
- 38:30Speaker 1: about them, like Drake Goes such a bar spender and
- 38:34Speaker 1: he's just it's very like on they think talking about
- 38:37Speaker 1: with hip hop and ramp. It's very different than a
- 38:42Speaker 1: lot of his contemporary well you know, his his delivery
- 38:44Speaker 1: is very unique, extremely and his perspective like when listen
- 38:49Speaker 1: to like punk rock bench and what he's talking about,
- 38:51Speaker 1: or like Marti Rock like his music is not celebratory,
- 38:55Speaker 1: it's very uh. I was telling people like if you
- 38:58Speaker 1: he has links from him and him and greet are
- 39:02Speaker 1: the only rappers we've ever had that uh that would
- 39:05Speaker 1: be in m p R. Washington Post or Brooklyn Vegan
- 39:11Speaker 1: or Stereo Gun like these are very very white, either
- 39:15Speaker 1: hipster or Maine all day on mainstream because of the
- 39:20Speaker 1: the way that they're rapping, it goes beyond the context
- 39:23Speaker 1: of just a street rapper because they're really it's almost
- 39:26Speaker 1: some he said about wut they was rapping, but it
- 39:29Speaker 1: was the way that they was delivering it. It was
- 39:32Speaker 1: so colded like he speaks in the cold and it's
- 39:35Speaker 1: just for him to be from South Central. Everybody in
- 39:39Speaker 1: the in the land supporting it. It's crazy. And when
- 39:42Speaker 1: you hear the song, like, Bro, he ain't even cut
- 39:46Speaker 1: when the album comes back, I'm not I'm not lying, y'all. Bro.
- 39:49Speaker 1: It's one of them moments like fifty or it's one
- 39:51Speaker 1: of them moments like whose first album. It's one of
- 39:54Speaker 1: them albums like uh, my Crazy Life and it's one
- 39:58Speaker 1: of those albums. And I'm gonna tell you want because
- 40:01Speaker 1: what he's he's he's literally putting in verbatim what he
- 40:06Speaker 1: went through, and you can't make it up. It's not
- 40:09Speaker 1: a perspective that you can, you know, just like people,
- 40:14Speaker 1: but it's everything is that unique thing saying what he
- 40:17Speaker 1: went through. So I don't think when fifty made many men,
- 40:21Speaker 1: you can't make a song up like that the way
- 40:24Speaker 1: he the way he made that song. Three rappers remade
- 40:27Speaker 1: that song this year, doesn't matter what I'm saying. That's
- 40:30Speaker 1: how how your pivotal it is that seventeen years later
- 40:34Speaker 1: that three rappers can make it in one his original
- 40:39Speaker 1: like pot did their interpretations of what they're going like,
- 40:43Speaker 1: anybody can be like I'm shot, I went to jail,
- 40:46Speaker 1: but you made those songs like you said twenty almost
- 40:49Speaker 1: twenty years later to where new artists are like, this
- 40:52Speaker 1: is a foundation of how I expressed myself when I
- 40:56Speaker 1: go through things, people wishing death on me. He's about to,
- 40:59Speaker 1: he got to. I don't even want to say, bro,
- 41:00Speaker 1: he got a song with him and God, whenever I
- 41:03Speaker 1: tell you that, now he's gonna trip out and somebody
- 41:06Speaker 1: did in jail, questioning their whole existence in life. I
- 41:10Speaker 1: don't think I heard that in rap and then nobody
- 41:13Speaker 1: from that. It's just gonna be good man. We saving
- 41:16Speaker 1: on all of that. I wouldn't even say save, but
- 41:18Speaker 1: all that has to be at the highest level. That's
- 41:21Speaker 1: like when you gotta have a Drake feature, you gotta
- 41:23Speaker 1: have a future feature. You gotta have a Travis Scotfield,
- 41:26Speaker 1: you gotta have like it's coming. It's like he knew
- 41:30Speaker 1: when he did Wangster that he was gonna do in
- 41:33Speaker 1: the club. He didn't know probably in the club was
- 41:35Speaker 1: gonna be in the club, but he knew what was
- 41:38Speaker 1: gonna be there. What's up, Let's wrap this up. Yeah,
- 41:43Speaker 1: that's crazy. You come from that whole background, bro, because
- 41:47Speaker 1: you you all we don't never that eeror don't ever die.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Also that er don't get enough respect. Bro. When we
- 41:54Speaker 1: talk about like LA hip hop history, it's only the
- 41:57Speaker 1: real ones that like know, like there was a whole
- 41:59Speaker 1: other world out here that wasn't the normal LA ship
- 42:02Speaker 1: you know, but very much, very much. Yeah, but that
- 42:08Speaker 1: I could tell you that, but it's almost like outcast
- 42:13Speaker 1: being from Atlanta back in the day. Now, but now
- 42:17Speaker 1: I can say what he's said about Andre, that's the
- 42:20Speaker 1: same thing talking about well he's so disconnected from it,
- 42:25Speaker 1: you don't even know. No, so just connected. Hurt my
- 42:29Speaker 1: heart to hear that. By the way, yeah, man, let
- 42:33Speaker 1: me know when we back. Want me to clap again?
- 42:36Speaker 1: How good? Got that good coffee? Hey? Got to have it.
- 42:41Speaker 1: I can't live without it. I wanted to talk to
- 42:44Speaker 1: you about your delivery man. Uh huh. Your delivery is
- 42:47Speaker 1: so unique, man, It's one of a kind. It is
- 42:50Speaker 1: definitely one of a kind. I wanted like, as a rapper,
- 42:55Speaker 1: where did you do you draw inspiration from? As an
- 42:58Speaker 1: mc uh, I'm not really inspired by nobody, but those
- 43:03Speaker 1: people I listened to, like, okay, it's just cool, Like
- 43:07Speaker 1: I like the rock oh he like yeah, he was
- 43:09Speaker 1: cool rock Delivery Atlanta. He signed Future exactly. But I
- 43:17Speaker 1: like the young Joe he had. He was called Young Joe.
- 43:19Speaker 1: So his album he dropped, that first album with Grand
- 43:23Speaker 1: Hustle was so slept on. I like people Rubber was
- 43:27Speaker 1: crazy and then I was his battle rapper. Nobody really
- 43:31Speaker 1: know about him because it was always name is like
- 43:33Speaker 1: Jungle Cocky or something. He was. He he kind of
- 43:36Speaker 1: made me start rapping. I was like, oh, you can
- 43:38Speaker 1: say like crazy stuff and still be calm. With it
- 43:41Speaker 1: and don't be yelling, he'd be saying, because you have
- 43:44Speaker 1: a very like your flow is very relaxing. It's like
- 43:48Speaker 1: it's it's like it's very easy to digest, you know
- 43:52Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like so many people be yelling in
- 43:54Speaker 1: the studio and all this, and I'm like, I'm the
- 43:56Speaker 1: type of person like even in real life, I'm not
- 43:58Speaker 1: gonna be yelling going back and order you to get
- 44:00Speaker 1: my point. Acass I was, I'll just rap like that,
- 44:03Speaker 1: like and I want people to be like, damn, how
- 44:05Speaker 1: did you just say something so crazy and just say
- 44:07Speaker 1: it's so calm, like like are you were you born?
- 44:11Speaker 1: Like were you originally born out here? So you're born
- 44:13Speaker 1: and raised here in my whole life, your whole life
- 44:15Speaker 1: A lot of a lot of Atlanta influenced, though, I guess,
- 44:21Speaker 1: I mean Rock yes, but they ain't really influenced me.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I just like like, okay, they's cool, Like yeah, young
- 44:29Speaker 1: Joe needs his flowers. Man drove Joe slept on bro
- 44:32Speaker 1: Droe's a cold guy, dude, for real, for real with
- 44:35Speaker 1: a mich just turn it all right. Yeah, that's the
- 44:41Speaker 1: one thing like I think that you're like, like you said,
- 44:44Speaker 1: I think that there are there have been some people
- 44:46Speaker 1: that have try to do what you do. They can't
- 44:50Speaker 1: do it, but you're very It's just like a one
- 44:53Speaker 1: of a kind. That's the way you do it. It's
- 44:56Speaker 1: like a Christler three hundred and a Bentley, Yeah, pretty
- 44:58Speaker 1: much the way I have a christ with. It's paid off.
- 45:01Speaker 1: It's like Ford and Ferrari, like right right, right, right,
- 45:05Speaker 1: right right, that's fair. Do you have like when you're
- 45:09Speaker 1: when you're locked up? Right? You gotta help me understand
- 45:11Speaker 1: this because what like, how did you entertain yourself throughout
- 45:16Speaker 1: the day as far as your free time? Was it meditating?
- 45:20Speaker 1: Was it reading? Because you guys don't got the internet
- 45:23Speaker 1: and ship out over there reading? Or I have people
- 45:25Speaker 1: playing music on the phone. We like differ technically the
- 45:28Speaker 1: phone's contray band, right yeah yeah, but on the regular phone, right, Oh,
- 45:33Speaker 1: so people will play you some sh it over the
- 45:35Speaker 1: over the phone. So that's how I know about a
- 45:36Speaker 1: lot of stuff. Yo, what's the worst song you heard
- 45:39Speaker 1: over the phone? Oh? A song that I really just did?
- 45:44Speaker 1: Like you're like, wait, that's what's it? Give me a
- 45:54Speaker 1: hitna go there? Right? Yeah? Look brocause I know no,
- 46:00Speaker 1: I'm not even with all that. So I'm not even
- 46:01Speaker 1: gonna go there, bro, because there's been a lot of
- 46:04Speaker 1: ship that came out that you got locked up that
- 46:06Speaker 1: you're like, hmm, that's interesting. Yeah I was. It's from LA.
- 46:15Speaker 1: I have an idea who it is? WHOA I know
- 46:20Speaker 1: the truth. I have an idea who is It's crazy
- 46:24Speaker 1: that's the tall guy. I don't know. Boy, he's a
- 46:32Speaker 1: nice guy. Yeah, I mean that's why I don't do
- 46:34Speaker 1: all that. I didn't like it. That's fair, shout out
- 46:37Speaker 1: the blue face whatever anyway, I don't care. Whatever. Get
- 46:46Speaker 1: I just grabbed that out of thin air, didn't there.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Yeah he get money though, so that's all that matters.
- 46:51Speaker 1: You gotta he got a nice head on his shoulders.
- 46:53Speaker 1: All that matter. And now like you get out this
- 46:56Speaker 1: COVID ship booming, you can't do live shows? You you've
- 47:00Speaker 1: never really done the big tour thing, right I was
- 47:03Speaker 1: supposed to? I can't. Yeah? Right, Yeah, it's crazy because
- 47:07Speaker 1: now you gotta like almost figure out a new like
- 47:11Speaker 1: are you gonna be doing merch? Because you do that
- 47:14Speaker 1: merch drop, You're gonna hit a lick that too? Is that? Right?
- 47:18Speaker 1: Is all? Right? Now? Where can they go to buy
- 47:20Speaker 1: the merch. What is it on? Bro? Just the Hives.
- 47:25Speaker 1: It's the Hives backslash Drake. There we go, Yeah, the
- 47:30Speaker 1: High backslash Drake, the Hives. Yeah, h y V easy
- 47:38Speaker 1: Yes our last Drake. Oh yeah is there? You know
- 47:42Speaker 1: what's dope about being independent? Like, I know you're indy
- 47:44Speaker 1: right now. You get all the money, you get all
- 47:46Speaker 1: the money. But I also it's I mean everyone's got
- 47:50Speaker 1: to be knocking on your door trying to sign you.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, for sure, there's a lot of people. I
- 47:53Speaker 1: mean they've been doing that when I was in jail.
- 47:55Speaker 1: That was right. So what what will it take? What's
- 47:58Speaker 1: important to you to even think about that? Because I
- 48:00Speaker 1: don't think you need to sign with anybody. I don't.
- 48:04Speaker 1: I mean, I'm the most influential person to come out
- 48:06Speaker 1: of here, Like everybody wants to be me. I always
- 48:09Speaker 1: said that it'd be rappers that'd be like I want
- 48:11Speaker 1: to sign them. I'm too big of a rapper to
- 48:13Speaker 1: be signed to another rapper, Like I don't know, I
- 48:16Speaker 1: get enough money, like to be like for them to
- 48:20Speaker 1: be trimming my money or giving me front of me
- 48:22Speaker 1: some money and then I got to pay it back,
- 48:24Speaker 1: Like how am I going to pay it back right now. Anyway,
- 48:26Speaker 1: if I signed the deal, how am I going to
- 48:28Speaker 1: pay that money back? I can't do no shows you
- 48:32Speaker 1: to process. Hey, come on, bro, I'm not I'm not
- 48:34Speaker 1: retarded because you know everybody, I'm gonna pay it back.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Ninety out of one hundred people will go to that
- 48:39Speaker 1: upfront bag. Worry about the wrestling. It's like all them
- 48:41Speaker 1: people that signed all them deals not in debt. Now.
- 48:44Speaker 1: I can't do no shows that in front of the
- 48:46Speaker 1: front of all the money and then and then you
- 48:47Speaker 1: ain't making money off your music because come so, I
- 48:50Speaker 1: hope you held on that event. Yeah, and know they did,
- 48:53Speaker 1: and they for sure did it. They did not That
- 48:57Speaker 1: ship is crazy. I saw your aunt, he was in here.
- 49:01Speaker 1: She's an integral part of your career. How important is
- 49:04Speaker 1: it to keep everything close and in the family, man,
- 49:07Speaker 1: I mean it's I don't know. You got to keep
- 49:10Speaker 1: them clothes because it's a lot of people like I
- 49:12Speaker 1: just she was there at the whole time, all in jail,
- 49:14Speaker 1: so that's why I always got her around. But I
- 49:17Speaker 1: don't know, it's a lot. Yeah, it's a lot of
- 49:20Speaker 1: stuff going on. You got to keep people you trust
- 49:22Speaker 1: around because I have people steal money from me, all
- 49:25Speaker 1: type of shiting out in jail. So people were stealing
- 49:27Speaker 1: from me while you were in jail? What and what like?
- 49:30Speaker 1: In what capacity? Because like like like you know, you're
- 49:34Speaker 1: locked up, you have you got I'm assuming there's some
- 49:36Speaker 1: liquidity somewhere. Yeah. People, I'm letting people, you know, people
- 49:41Speaker 1: who you trusted, people I'm trusted use my card pull
- 49:45Speaker 1: out money. Had no things for me. They was sending
- 49:48Speaker 1: out money out of your cards, ye know. Ship. So
- 49:52Speaker 1: you get out of jail, you then you you're like
- 49:54Speaker 1: expecting you got a certain amount of money in the bank. Yeah,
- 49:57Speaker 1: not too, but I had too. I had like a
- 49:59Speaker 1: business account of on. So I was expecting to get
- 50:01Speaker 1: some money from the home man. Oh yeah, go put
- 50:04Speaker 1: this out for me. He damn, bro for real, twenty
- 50:08Speaker 1: thousand dollars So twenty bands just missing. Luckily I'm a
- 50:13Speaker 1: different person. Now, Yeah, that's a lot of money. That's
- 50:16Speaker 1: a lot. Hey, but the eyes are on you right now.
- 50:19Speaker 1: You know it might be twenty thousand dollars worth taking. Bro,
- 50:25Speaker 1: I'm safe to say those people aren't around anymore. No,
- 50:28Speaker 1: they're not. Damn. I can only imagine bro exactly right,
- 50:33Speaker 1: you know what what Let me ask you this man,
- 50:36Speaker 1: it was looking kind of grim for you for a minute.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Were did you ever go through any sort of phase
- 50:41Speaker 1: of being depressed while you were locked up? Oh? Yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 1: for sure. I mean I was fighting the death penalty.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Like you don't know, Like it's always like you hear
- 50:48Speaker 1: people fight stuff like that, So you'll never be like
- 50:51Speaker 1: you never think you were going to be that person.
- 50:53Speaker 1: You sitting there and somebody say that, You're like, ooh,
- 50:57Speaker 1: that's not me. Then when you're that person, you don't
- 50:59Speaker 1: know when you just going to court just to go
- 51:01Speaker 1: to court, you don't know what's going on and not
- 51:05Speaker 1: offering you no deal, like get crazy. Sometimes you get
- 51:10Speaker 1: the wondering like damn, am I ever gonna get out? Right?
- 51:13Speaker 1: Or even if I do get out, am I still
- 51:14Speaker 1: gonna be relevant when I get out? Is it even
- 51:16Speaker 1: gonna matter? Who wants to get out of jail when
- 51:18Speaker 1: they forty something? How I would be a rapper at
- 51:21Speaker 1: forties others? Right? Come on, brother, Luckily, Like I'm probably
- 51:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna be the biggest rapper ever to come out
- 51:30Speaker 1: because I'm the youngest like everybody that went through, Like
- 51:32Speaker 1: I'm twenty seven, I just turned twenty seven, So like everybody,
- 51:35Speaker 1: Gucci Man, all them people when they was going through
- 51:37Speaker 1: their stuff, they was all older than me when they
- 51:39Speaker 1: got out and start booming. I'm still in my twenties.
- 51:42Speaker 1: So I give it like five more years and I'm
- 51:45Speaker 1: just try to do something else. Maybe since you've been out,
- 51:48Speaker 1: you got some dope features on the project obviously. Oh yeah,
- 51:50Speaker 1: for sure. I think it's dope. You and stupid young LinkedIn.
- 51:53Speaker 1: That's my boy, I know, I've been here's great, Yeah,
- 51:55Speaker 1: I've been. I know him from jail though. Yeah, he's
- 51:57Speaker 1: a good dude. Man. Who has who has tapped in
- 52:01Speaker 1: with you? Uh? Since you've been out there that that
- 52:05Speaker 1: you know? There's like your story was very high profile,
- 52:10Speaker 1: so a lot of people knew what was going on.
- 52:12Speaker 1: So has there been any artists that have tapped out
- 52:14Speaker 1: since you got out to try to work? Oh? Yeah,
- 52:16Speaker 1: Roudy and me. Uh, like a lot of people that
- 52:20Speaker 1: been in me, you know, like Jay Crize. Uh. Uh,
- 52:26Speaker 1: there's so many people. What's it made in Tokyo? Oh
- 52:31Speaker 1: yeah yeah, Uh a lot of people like riching him
- 52:36Speaker 1: but songs? How crazy was it to what witnessed Roddy's Uh,
- 52:41Speaker 1: ascension to start him while you were locked in. That's
- 52:43Speaker 1: just crazy. I was like, because when you when you
- 52:45Speaker 1: I think when you got when you got like he
- 52:47Speaker 1: was making some noise, but it was like around that time.
- 52:53Speaker 1: He's one of the biggest artists on the plane. Yeah,
- 52:55Speaker 1: I've seen it. Yeah, I heard the box. I knew
- 52:57Speaker 1: that song was gonna blow up. When I heard it,
- 52:58Speaker 1: I was like, so, is there gonna be a rotty
- 53:02Speaker 1: record coming? I don't know, man, you gotta ask him.
- 53:04Speaker 1: That'd be big for the city. Man, that'd be big. Bro.
- 53:08Speaker 1: I'll just be focusing on what I got going on
- 53:10Speaker 1: because worried about what other people got going that's gonna
- 53:12Speaker 1: stretch you out and throw you off your game. You
- 53:14Speaker 1: gotta worry about yourself. That's why I am te Grizzly
- 53:17Speaker 1: feature was dope too. I think he's another one of
- 53:20Speaker 1: those guys who talks that talk. He's a real stream.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Did you ever work with Mazie before you got locked up? Yeah?
- 53:25Speaker 1: He was on my second second mixtape. He was on there.
- 53:29Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know that, but he was
- 53:30Speaker 1: on there. It's crazy because I feel like, now, like
- 53:32Speaker 1: with you being independent, like there's been this trend. You're
- 53:36Speaker 1: indie link up with another independent order to drop a
- 53:38Speaker 1: whole project. Yeah, pretty much. I'm trying to do something rio.
- 53:41Speaker 1: You got a drop of tape fire. He's funny, he's
- 53:44Speaker 1: not about the only person that I think could fuck
- 53:46Speaker 1: with me. Just on on a whole Just let's talk shit.
- 53:50Speaker 1: This is what I do, bro, I do this all day.
- 53:52Speaker 1: So did you haven't? Were you like, you know what's crazy?
- 53:55Speaker 1: Because when I hear you, I guess I'm like, I
- 53:58Speaker 1: feel like you, like, did you ever listen to sugar
- 54:00Speaker 1: Free when you was growing up? Not like that? But
- 54:02Speaker 1: he is funny as hell. I started listening to this
- 54:05Speaker 1: in prison. I was like, Wow, he was saying, Yo,
- 54:07Speaker 1: it's so crazy to think that sugar Free couldn't exist.
- 54:11Speaker 1: In twenty twenty day, that canceled them. They canceled his ass.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Oh I haven't he I didn't know that. No. I
- 54:17Speaker 1: just mean just because he was talking about all kind
- 54:19Speaker 1: of white you can't say this shit he was saying
- 54:22Speaker 1: in twenty twenty. Yeah, yeah, these motherfucker Yo. You know
- 54:25Speaker 1: what's crazy? And since you've been out, there's this new shit.
- 54:28Speaker 1: It was always around, but bigger than ever. There's this
- 54:30Speaker 1: cancel culture shit. Yeah that's weird. So no matter what
- 54:33Speaker 1: you do, you could now dig up an old tweet.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yeah I heard about it. I was seeing that shit
- 54:38Speaker 1: on TV. I didn't think it was real though, Oh
- 54:39Speaker 1: it's real. Yeah, I seen. They was doing it to
- 54:41Speaker 1: a lot of people. Bro. They just tried to cancel
- 54:44Speaker 1: soder baby for like five year old tweets like shit,
- 54:47Speaker 1: it's like, oh, look like I got to delease some shit.
- 54:49Speaker 1: You might want to dig in wipe that shit clean,
- 54:52Speaker 1: oh man, because they ain't. Man, there's people out here
- 54:55Speaker 1: whose whole life they're just waiting to be offended on
- 54:57Speaker 1: the internet. Yeah, I know, I know, Yeah, I know.
- 55:01Speaker 1: It's crazy. So your situation, are you on probation? Are
- 55:04Speaker 1: you totally? Yeah, I'm on probation, but I'm not. I
- 55:06Speaker 1: don't got to check in or nothing, So it's not
- 55:08Speaker 1: it's unsupervised, yeah, pretty much. How long is how long?
- 55:11Speaker 1: Five years? Five? That's a long time, an't it? Five years?
- 55:16Speaker 1: That ship is damn long time. But at least it's unsupervised.
- 55:23Speaker 1: When everything opens back up, hopefully that you know, is
- 55:27Speaker 1: it gonna be the type of probation where you got
- 55:28Speaker 1: to get permission to leave the state type ship. I mean, yeah,
- 55:31Speaker 1: but I don't think they trippering like that because they
- 55:34Speaker 1: wasn't even tripping before. They just want me to get it,
- 55:37Speaker 1: catch your charge, that's what they want. I don't think
- 55:40Speaker 1: they trippered off nothing like that. Yeah, hopefully they just
- 55:42Speaker 1: kind of moved on like all right, you know what
- 55:43Speaker 1: we tried. Yeah, pretty much. I would hope you gotta
- 55:46Speaker 1: let them out now. Yeah, man, I know they're watching
- 55:49Speaker 1: me though. For sure you're watching me. You just be smart, man.
- 55:51Speaker 1: You know, Casanova just got those reco charge. Man, I've
- 55:53Speaker 1: seen that. I've seen g Herbal. G Herbal had to
- 55:55Speaker 1: turn himself in on some fraud ship. But that recon
- 55:58Speaker 1: don't getting nothing for that time. Yeah. But the Rico ship, Yeah,
- 56:01Speaker 1: that's that's like the six nine ship. That's life. I
- 56:04Speaker 1: carry life, yo. I gotta get your perspective. Know, it's
- 56:07Speaker 1: funny because you mentioned six nine. I gotta just get
- 56:09Speaker 1: your perspective as because you were in jail throughout his
- 56:12Speaker 1: whole his whole time of ship. Yea, like the highest
- 56:17Speaker 1: getting locked up and then he'll get out of crazy
- 56:20Speaker 1: like that ship is. It's crazy even fathom that that
- 56:27Speaker 1: even happened. But what do you expect from a nigga
- 56:29Speaker 1: of Rainbow here? Bro's funny. I ain't gonna give it.
- 56:33Speaker 1: He was funny. I liked it that he mastered. Then
- 56:36Speaker 1: no one has mastered the internet and the trolling better. Now,
- 56:39Speaker 1: mind you, he was doing some dangerous ship. He was,
- 56:42Speaker 1: But you can't. You can't do that. You can only
- 56:44Speaker 1: do that to a certain extent. You can do all
- 56:46Speaker 1: that if you're really from the streets and you really
- 56:48Speaker 1: like a street nigga. But if you're not like that,
- 56:51Speaker 1: it's gonna always come back to bite you. Like me,
- 56:53Speaker 1: I'm from the streets. I talked shit, that's cool, but whatever.
- 56:59Speaker 1: I'm not in this same position as him. He had
- 57:01Speaker 1: to pay people and all the type of shit to
- 57:03Speaker 1: hang around him. I don't pay people to hang around me.
- 57:05Speaker 1: I grew up with all these people, so it's different.
- 57:09Speaker 1: These people's ticket all the games, so I don't think
- 57:11Speaker 1: people want to play with me like that. But I'm
- 57:13Speaker 1: not nobody. When you say that, there's a lot of
- 57:17Speaker 1: people who, unfortunately they do have to come to l a. Yeah,
- 57:20Speaker 1: and they have to pay a tax. Yeah for sure, right,
- 57:23Speaker 1: I'm not one of those people. But that's only like
- 57:25Speaker 1: out of towner people, they got to check in. I
- 57:28Speaker 1: mean that's anywhere though, but we I guess I'll hear
- 57:30Speaker 1: it just stricter, like I won't ask you this, right
- 57:33Speaker 1: because does everyone need to check in or only people
- 57:37Speaker 1: who have that street persona when they come to l A.
- 57:40Speaker 1: If you're like a gangster rapper and you come to
- 57:42Speaker 1: l A or Detroit, you got to check in with
- 57:43Speaker 1: certain people? Yeah, pretty much. But if it's like logic,
- 57:47Speaker 1: like there's like logic does probably doesn't get up on
- 57:51Speaker 1: them too, all right. Uh Now, if you somebody like
- 57:54Speaker 1: Dirk or Thug or somebody, they're not going for that, right.
- 57:58Speaker 1: But the other Oh yeah, I think I think too,
- 58:03Speaker 1: like a lot of people don't realize, like yo, man,
- 58:06Speaker 1: like you can't just let your guard down out here.
- 58:08Speaker 1: You can't, no matter because you know, rest in peace
- 58:11Speaker 1: to Pop Smoke like he was in the hills, bro, exactly.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Good kids can't trust nobody, can't trust nobody, bro. And
- 58:19Speaker 1: and a lot of people we've lost since you've been
- 58:21Speaker 1: locked up X like lots of pe like that. And uh,
- 58:27Speaker 1: I think you know for for you, you know, being
- 58:30Speaker 1: on probation and and and and I think it's dope
- 58:33Speaker 1: that you got a second chance. Many it seems like
- 58:35Speaker 1: you got your your you know, you got your head
- 58:37Speaker 1: in the right place to go there to go on
- 58:40Speaker 1: a big run pretty much. Yeah. I mean, I don't
- 58:43Speaker 1: got nothing to do anybody but to record. It's nothing
- 58:45Speaker 1: nowhere to go, so all I can do is make music.
- 58:49Speaker 1: And since I'm independent, I'm going to get all that money.
- 58:51Speaker 1: So yeah, there it is. Man, Hey, how many unreleased
- 58:56Speaker 1: t k how many unreleased Gridose songs? They are still
- 58:58Speaker 1: in the cut? I told you how many? Man I knew.
- 59:04Speaker 1: I knew it because he do the fourteen hundred songs today?
- 59:09Speaker 1: So cool, yo. I feel like you got to grab
- 59:11Speaker 1: like ten of them and do the the great Old
- 59:13Speaker 1: Rego project. That'll be big, bro. Yeah so big? Is
- 59:23Speaker 1: that something that you guys have brainstormed about doing, like
- 59:25Speaker 1: a project where you gonna do before I can jail? Yeah,
- 59:28Speaker 1: so that's something that's already in the air pretty much.
- 59:31Speaker 1: And you got fourteen hundred songs that Choose. So if
- 59:34Speaker 1: he's got fourteen hundred and you just cranked the album
- 59:37Speaker 1: outa in five days? Yeah, how many? How many songs
- 59:40Speaker 1: do you got? We haven't heard a lot. I mean
- 59:44Speaker 1: I wrote two hundred and nine songs in jail, so
- 59:47Speaker 1: like I got a lot, Yeah, I got a lot.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Every single song that is on my mixtap I wrote
- 59:53Speaker 1: in jail, every single one. So you know, most people
- 59:57Speaker 1: can't write. All you had to do was come out
- 59:59Speaker 1: and get the bet need to just go straight in.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I just that's why I tested it out with this mixtape.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: And apparently people like everything that I wrote in jail,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: because when I wrote in jail, I'll visualize it as
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: if I was on the streets. So you can't write
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: if you in jail. Nobody want to hear that. All
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: day people talk about jail. I don't want to hear
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: and I was in jail, so right, right, right, right,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Well listen, man, your project is out. Yeah, we know
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: the troth. There's gonna be a whole lot more coming,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: a lot more counting, hopefully a Gredo project. Yeah. I
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: feel like that's only right pretty much. That's the hommies. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: shout out to him, man, he's in good spirits and
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: free Grado free Gredo. Uh and thank you for coming
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: through man. You you're the latest rapper we've ever had
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: for the record. Yeah, what's up? Yeah, there we go,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: free to stick team, free kills, free rosey for everybody. Boom.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: You know the truth.
