- 0:00OK, so does a diet play a role in a better condition of life if
- 0:03you have autism? Well, let's discuss it right now
- 0:06guys, what's going on? Welcome back to the aspy world.
- 0:08My name is Dan, I have autism and ADHD and I make weekly
- 0:10videos all about this stuff because I'm obsessed with
- 0:12helping autistic people, individuals like yourself reach
- 0:15full potential reach macular life capability because I know

- 0:33And actually if you follow me on social media, you'll see four
- 0:35videos a day from me because I'm just obsessed with born.
- 0:37To help people. Guys, this whole idea of diet is
- 0:40quite controversial and you hear some kind of people saying like,
- 0:43oh you know, the gluten free diet helps people with autism
- 0:46overcome some issues and all this kind of stuff.
- 0:48And what I do believe that gluten intolerances you know can
- 0:51create a difficult life for anybody, not just one of the
- 0:54also the spectrum. I don't believe it's the sole
- 0:56way to overcome issues or or help manage issues on your
- 0:59spectrum. However, I will say though, is
- 1:01that because autistic individuals have such fast-paced
- 1:06brains and that reminds going 1000 miles an hour, the burning
- 1:082 calories like nobody's business.
- 1:10And they're chasing dopamine constantly, which means that
- 1:12busy drinks, high caffeinated drinks and and candy and and
- 1:15soda pop and and stuff like pizza and junk food.
- 1:18I've all these things are dopamine rich, right?
- 1:20And so they're going to create a dopamine high for anybody who's
- 1:24chasing those. And so autistic people are, you
- 1:27know, susceptible to that. Now if I were to say that the
- 1:29chicken nugget should be the international symbol for autism,
- 1:32then everyone would be agreeing right?
- 1:33Now give this video a thumbs up if you agree that the chicken
- 1:35nugget is kind of like the symbol of autism.
- 1:38But unfortunately, chicken nugget isn't very varied in
- 1:40nutrients. It's not very high in anything
- 1:42other than protein and fats. So this leads me to the role of
- 1:46diet in autism. Now, in order to function,
- 1:49autistic people will need a lot of varied nutrients.
- 1:52Because when you're faced with a fast pacing brain, you're
- 1:56burning through calories, You're burning through, you know, mega
- 1:58amounts of energy all day. You can't just really survive in
- 2:00chicken Nuggets, you know, Yes, they're going to give you
- 2:02protein, It's going to give you a little bit of energy.
- 2:04But you do need good carbohydrates.
- 2:05You need a mix of vitamins and multivitamins.
- 2:07Now, the best way to do this obviously is have a very diet,
- 2:09because then you keep your brain at maximum function and keep
- 2:11your brain at maximum efficiency.
- 2:13And the autism brain is a delicate, perfect, amazing
- 2:15thing. So you want to treat it as such.
- 2:17But I know autistic individuals do not like a lot of varied
- 2:20foods. This is very common and I get
- 2:22it. So what did I do to change this?
- 2:25Now I'm just like any other, you know, autistic individual.
- 2:27If I could just eat chicken, I guess the rest of my life I
- 2:29would be the same. Even though I'm vegan, I also
- 2:31eat vegan chicken Nuggets, right?
- 2:32However, I decided to add in smoothies to my diet because I
- 2:35like fruit juices. No, not like kind of fruit.
- 2:38In general, I like sweet tasting things.
- 2:40So if you can have a smoothie that tastes like a milkshake
- 2:43every day, you win because you go with much nutrients and
- 2:45that's possible the Java pack full of all good healthy stuff.
- 2:48I actually prefer green juices now because they look green, but
- 2:50they taste like tropical juice because you can just put in like
- 2:53lemons and pineapples and apples and berries and stuff in it.
- 2:56By introducing those into your diet, what you will do is cover
- 2:59the fact that there's a deficit for nutrients in the autism diet
- 3:03and also satisfy that need for a bit of dopamine hit.
- 3:05It's a win win situation. Now I'd love to know your like
- 3:09experience on this and your your input.
