- 0:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:01Speaker 2: This is like a thing.
- 0:03Speaker 3: This is like a reference, right?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Ask the Yellow King.
- 0:07Speaker 4: He's here. No, it is more fun to make up
- 0:30Speaker 4: our own stories than.
- 0:31Speaker 2: To have any facts.
- 0:32Speaker 3: What you're doing anyway.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I agree, however. More story. But what's going on, everybody?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Go ahead. We started.
- 0:44Speaker 5: I was just talking about this. The Yellow King is
- 0:47Speaker 5: a short story collection by American writer Robert W.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Chambers. See, this is not what you wanted to start with.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Go ahead. No, I want to know more. Please tell me.
- 0:58Speaker 5: Uh published but okay all right uh british okay blah
- 1:03Speaker 5: blah blah nine short stories and a sequence of poems
- 1:06Speaker 5: while the first stories belong to the genres of supernatural
- 1:09Speaker 5: horror and weird fiction it could be key for g
- 1:12Speaker 5: you know.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Maybe like cthulhu uh supernatural horror that's like cthulhu right
- 1:17Speaker 2: like that's considered supernatural yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 5: Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah progressively transitions towards more light
- 1:22Speaker 5: hearted tone ending with romantic stories, devoid of horror or
- 1:26Speaker 5: super act natural elements. Well, you know, maybe that's like, uh,
- 1:32Speaker 5: could that be the, the story of key forge maybe
- 1:34Speaker 5: where it's like, it starts out all scary and weird fiction.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Nobody plays it, but then magically, magically it's saved and
- 1:42Speaker 5: turns into a romance story and you get married at
- 1:44Speaker 5: a key forge event.
- 1:45Speaker 2: No, this game is a sinking ship. Oh, okay. But
- 1:49Speaker 2: what's going on, everybody? I'm the only one in the W-O-O-K-I-E.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Joined here by the normal Key Forge people. Sheep's here. Dr.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Sheep's here. Say hi, Dr.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Sheep.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Castamus Fitz. It's been a little while. I gotta get
- 2:07Speaker 2: back on my horse. You gotta give me a little time.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I get the yellow king for free.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Why did you turn into a horse? Because they're a horse.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Because they're a horse, of course, of course. The Minnesota
- 2:25Speaker 2: Deuce himself. Ewok Jr.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Hello, Key Forge community. Glad to be here.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Are you ready? I'm ready for this. It is the
- 2:35Speaker 2: Draz Corps. Of the Draz Corps. The Smoke Show. The
- 2:40Speaker 2: Choke Show. He almost did something cool. Draz Corps. I mean,
- 2:46Speaker 2: this is definitely.
- 2:48Speaker 5: uh, the nice, um, yeah, I love that you guys
- 2:52Speaker 5: have given me so many names. It just means how
- 2:54Speaker 5: much you guys think about me and love me and
- 2:58Speaker 5: all that.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Riku says, thank you all for not seeing race. It's
- 3:02Speaker 2: my setup for a racist joke reference to myself being Asian.
- 3:06Speaker 2: That's too easy. Sir, sir, this is too easy for
- 3:12Speaker 2: this classy podcast. We'll make fun of you for other reasons. Okay.
- 3:18Speaker 2: This is nothing but highbrow humor here. Hold on.
- 3:24Speaker 4: We started off with a whole thing about a poem.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Right? Supernatural tentacle porn poems. And now we've moved into
- 3:35Speaker 2: whatever it is we're talking about now. Oh, Dravscore. Almost
- 3:39Speaker 2: doing something cool. Almost. Almost. That's why it's the Choke Show.
- 3:45Speaker 2: But we are far too gifted on this show. to
- 3:51Speaker 2: stoop to such easy jokes. Anyways, Key Forge Online. Should
- 4:00Speaker 2: we talk about it? I suppose it's a thing that's happening, right? Yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So you're excited about this.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Vietnam.
- 4:09Speaker 4: No, we will do Vietnam. We'll come back to Vietnam.
- 4:13Speaker 4: We got to talk about the news. We'll come back
- 4:14Speaker 4: to Vietnam, right? I'm just going to be talking over here.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Everybody's going to get a double dose this week.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Vietnam was amazing. Vietnam 1 will be releasing either today
- 4:24Speaker 2: or tomorrow.
- 4:25Speaker 4: This is now Vietnam 3. Vietnam is Keyforge.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Vietnam is Keyforge. Because Keyforge Online was here. I thought
- 4:37Speaker 2: Keyforge Online was already here, but now it's going to
- 4:40Speaker 2: be here again.
- 4:42Speaker 4: More here?
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's more here.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Um....
- 4:49Speaker 4: Let's start with the positive. Let's do the, what do.
- 4:53Speaker 2: They call that? The compliment sandwich. What is it, Ewok?
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's the whatever sandwich where we start with a positive
- 5:03Speaker 2: and then I shred it for like 45 minutes and
- 5:07Speaker 2: then we come back around to Ewok where he puts
- 5:10Speaker 2: a nice little bow on it.
- 5:11Speaker 6: Well, typically it would be one positive, one negative, one positive. Now,
- 5:16Speaker 6: 45 minutes of complaining. Just one, one, and one.
- 5:18Speaker 2: This is an American sandwich.
- 5:19Speaker 3: You really have two positive and one negative.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Oh.
- 5:22Speaker 2: We got to give ourselves a heart attack with this thing.
- 5:25Speaker 2: That's right. Extra mayonnaise. Wow.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I'm down. So, all right. I'm sorry. Crucible Online. Key
- 5:35Speaker 2: Forge Online is here. What is this? KFO. This is.
- 5:40Speaker 2: This is a... I guess we're just going to... Everybody knows, right?
- 5:46Speaker 2: So we don't have to keep people behind masks, right?
- 5:49Speaker 2: Everybody knows this. As far as we know right now
- 5:53Speaker 2: is DeadSync and Riku making a new way to play
- 5:59Speaker 2: Key Forge Online that is better. Right? That's where we're
- 6:07Speaker 2: at on this one, right? And as far as I
- 6:10Speaker 2: understand it right now, there will be digital decks. Yeah!
- 6:17Speaker 2: This opened up so many questions. So many questions.
- 6:23Speaker 4: So is this show just going to be us making
- 6:25Speaker 4: total shit up because we do not know what's happening
- 6:28Speaker 4: with any of this?
- 6:30Speaker 2: I do like making total shit up, yes.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Okay, I just want.
- 6:33Speaker 5: To make sure we're on the same page. I mean,
- 6:35Speaker 5: we know a few things. So we should go over
- 6:37Speaker 5: what little we know. And then we can talk about
- 6:40Speaker 5: what we think they should do.
- 6:42Speaker 2: We know it's coming soon, TM. Right? Soon trademarked. Four
- 6:46Speaker 2: to six business years. We actually know that they actually
- 6:48Speaker 2: set a date quite far in the future. 2028.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Yes.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Is what I saw in there. Like I said, four
- 6:57Speaker 2: to six business years.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Induced comas. That could be tomorrow.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Could be. We can do this, guys.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Make sure you give your credit card information to somebody
- 7:08Speaker 4: else so they can pledge while you're in your cell.
- 7:10Speaker 2: But here we go again.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Like, okay, you guys are cool with the game found manager.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Like, this is.
- 7:18Speaker 4: They gotta fund it somehow.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they have to. I get it, but like, GG
- 7:24Speaker 2: is just allowing the IP to be used. They're not
- 7:27Speaker 2: a part of this as far as I understand. Well,
- 7:30Speaker 2: they are a part of it, but very distantly. No,
- 7:35Speaker 2: I think they're just taking it. They're like, yeah, we
- 7:38Speaker 2: will give it to you and you pay us money
- 7:40Speaker 2: to use the IP. I don't think they're involved in
- 7:43Speaker 2: this whatsoever. I don't... I thought I read something somewhere
- 7:48Speaker 2: that's like... Well, no, because this is a game... Okay,
- 7:51Speaker 2: so this is a game found campaign by Yellow King,
- 7:55Speaker 2: which is Riku, for those of you following along. This
- 7:59Speaker 2: is not a ghost... It is not.
- 8:04Speaker 2: This is not a ghost galaxy. It's not a human person.
- 8:07Speaker 2: It's a corporation person.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Right.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Okay. So yellow King is Riku and, and dead sink.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:15Speaker 4: And whatever.
- 8:16Speaker 2: That's the two we know. I don't know how much
- 8:18Speaker 2: dead sinks, just a community. Well, he's the ones listed.
- 8:22Speaker 2: He said he's the community manager in the announcements.
- 8:24Speaker 3: So.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Sure.
- 8:28Speaker 2: So he will.
- 8:29Speaker 4: We don't know the relationships of anybody. within this company?
- 8:33Speaker 2: JT Russell and Quickdraw are helping volunteer as moderators on
- 8:37Speaker 2: the server. Suckers. So we're going to get adaptive in this,
- 8:41Speaker 2: I think. I wasn't asked to moderate. I'm just saying.
- 8:45Speaker 4: That's because you don't moderate anything.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I look at things now and again.
- 8:51Speaker 4: You enable. You do not moderate.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I might poke the bear from time to time. It
- 9:00Speaker 2: might be one of my favorite things to do. Okay. So,
- 9:05Speaker 2: I guess we don't know. Tell them what little we
- 9:10Speaker 2: do know.
- 9:12Speaker 4: What do we know? That they want some money?
- 9:16Speaker 2: They want some money from you. 1811 people are following.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Right now. Your free digital Archon deck plus follower bonus.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Early supporters of Keyforge Online. One Keyforge Online Archon deck
- 9:35Speaker 2: of the most recent set available on Keyforge Online at
- 9:37Speaker 2: the time of the game's release. Follower exclusives of an
- 9:41Speaker 2: in-game Ultra Gravitron Archon Buddy. So you will get an
- 9:46Speaker 2: Archon Buddy. Which will immediately... Sheep will have... I don't
- 9:53Speaker 2: even know what's available. But like, okay, so... There's so
- 9:59Speaker 2: many questions. right? So like, what's the most, is it
- 10:01Speaker 2: going to start at the most recent set of time
- 10:03Speaker 2: of release?
- 10:05Speaker 5: I think it has to, right? Like they, they're going
- 10:08Speaker 5: to want to get you excited. Uh, you being like
- 10:13Speaker 5: a newer player, get you excited about product that is
- 10:16Speaker 5: currently in stores, right?
- 10:19Speaker 2: And does this start a wave of rotation? I just
- 10:23Speaker 2: thought about this. I don't know. Why would it make rotation? Well,
- 10:27Speaker 2: because now you're going to have Keyforge online. Well, and
- 10:32Speaker 2: I guess we don't... Are we going to be able
- 10:33Speaker 2: to play with our old Keyforge decks?
- 10:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:37Speaker 2: That has been confirmed. We're able to upload decks. I
- 10:42Speaker 2: know somewhere it said it's accessing the Master Vault, but
- 10:44Speaker 2: I didn't see where it said.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yes, and it said that you're going to be able
- 10:47Speaker 4: to play your old stuff.
- 10:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:50Speaker 5: I think, uh, well, I think there was, I can't
- 10:53Speaker 5: find it permanent legal. So I think, uh, maybe not your,
- 10:58Speaker 5: that menage you got stashed away. That might not be,
- 11:03Speaker 5: nobody has, if you're still sitting on some chain, well,
- 11:05Speaker 5: it is stashed away, sitting on a mark in the dumpster.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Actually, I have a bunch of sealed because it's not
- 11:10Speaker 3: worth opening, but anyway.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Or while there's that do absolutely nothing with it.
- 11:17Speaker 6: I think that the way I would tackle this is more,
- 11:20Speaker 6: what do we know? One, you can go ahead and
- 11:25Speaker 6: see that there was an actual announcement from keyforging.com. So
- 11:30Speaker 6: that is one huge news. We had it announced at
- 11:33Speaker 6: KFC last year that there would be a digital client.
- 11:37Speaker 6: We can now go ahead and see.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Did we? I thought it said they were looking. It's
- 11:43Speaker 2: something that if it came across, they wouldn't turn it down.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I'd have to go rewatch. I'd have to go rewatch. Well,
- 11:49Speaker 2: there we go.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Here it is, and they didn't turn it down.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 11:54Speaker 6: Well, I'll say the next bit is that we know here,
- 11:58Speaker 6: founder of Yellow King, Riku, well-known community member, and DeadSync, again,
- 12:03Speaker 6: well-known community member, and are involved with this. You have
- 12:06Speaker 6: some other well-known community members.
- 12:08Speaker 3: This is great.
- 12:09Speaker 6: We have amazing community members who are going above and
- 12:11Speaker 6: beyond to bring us things from Keychain to... now an
- 12:17Speaker 6: online platform. And no diss against TCO. TCO has literally
- 12:21Speaker 6: kept this game alive for years and years. But this
- 12:26Speaker 6: is exciting. We also know that there is more details
- 12:29Speaker 6: to come. You can see details at the keynote at
- 12:32Speaker 6: Key Forge Celebration 2026. So definitely show up. I think
- 12:35Speaker 6: it'll be a great time. There is an official online
- 12:39Speaker 6: Discord server. So if you have not already checked out
- 12:43Speaker 6: the actual news blurb that's there from keepforging.com, that is
- 12:48Speaker 6: another resource for us to be able to see. That
- 12:52Speaker 6: is all information that we can see. We can see
- 12:53Speaker 6: that there's a game found page that you can go
- 12:55Speaker 6: ahead and follow. You already talked about the free digital deck. Um,
- 13:00Speaker 6: there are a lot of questions, but man, this, this
- 13:04Speaker 6: is exciting news at the very, very, very least.
- 13:07Speaker 3: This is very, very exciting news.
- 13:09Speaker 6: Um, Tell me why this would not be exciting news.
- 13:14Speaker 6: This is literally an online component for us to be
- 13:18Speaker 6: able to have.
- 13:19Speaker 5: This is what we've been asking for, Wookie. Don't tell
- 13:23Speaker 5: us why this is a bad idea.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We've had a digital online client for years.
- 13:28Speaker 4: We have not had an official online client that includes
- 13:32Speaker 4: the ability to purchase decks in it.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Correct.
- 13:35Speaker 4: And potentially have some sort of meaningful ranking that results
- 13:40Speaker 4: in you being able to win more decks like many
- 13:42Speaker 4: online card games allow.
- 13:45Speaker 3: What Sheep just said.
- 13:49Speaker 4: True.
- 13:50Speaker 2: So I guess there could be the grinders out there.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I just opened up TCO, my local TCO, The Crucible Online.
- 13:58Speaker 2: There are three games going on right now.
- 14:01Speaker 4: One is Toot and Carnage playing against themselves.
- 14:06Speaker 6: But there's no slap in TCO. As I just said
- 14:12Speaker 6: less than five minutes ago, TCO literally has kept this
- 14:15Speaker 6: game afloat when, frankly, FFG and GG were not there.
- 14:20Speaker 3: To be able to do it.
- 14:21Speaker 6: I will state that, and I will continue to back
- 14:24Speaker 6: everyone from TCO. They've done a phenomenal job.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Fun story. At one time, it was the same dude.
- 14:31Speaker 6: I'm just going to go ahead and say that here...
- 14:34Speaker 6: They haven't supported. I mean, this is client that would
- 14:39Speaker 6: be attached with DJ.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Correct.
- 14:41Speaker 4: It's being discussed at the Key Forge event, which means
- 14:46Speaker 4: when this after this goes, it will probably be printed
- 14:52Speaker 4: on future decks. So when you buy a deck, you
- 14:54Speaker 4: will know it'll be. It'll be more. obvious to anybody
- 15:01Speaker 4: who has any interest in Key Forge, where TCO, like,
- 15:05Speaker 4: people who've played this game for months in stores may
- 15:08Speaker 4: not even know that TCO exists, because it's not that
- 15:13Speaker 4: easy to find. Like, people join our Discord, they start
- 15:16Speaker 4: talking to Key Forge, they're like, well, come play with us.
- 15:17Speaker 4: They're like, what are you talking about? We're like, we
- 15:20Speaker 4: play over here, and they go, oh. So, having it
- 15:26Speaker 4: on the front of stuff in the future will... Will help.
- 15:31Speaker 3: It's a marketing component, Sheep. That's what's there.
- 15:34Speaker 6: I actually just listened to a podcast a little bit
- 15:35Speaker 6: ago from Board Game Geek, and it was in reference
- 15:38Speaker 6: to a board game company that many years ago had
- 15:41Speaker 6: actually gone into Kickstarter, GameFound, and kind of that online play.
- 15:45Speaker 6: And one of the main takeaways from this was the
- 15:48Speaker 6: idea of how Kickstarter and GameFound has really changed from
- 15:53Speaker 6: small independent companies that are like, hey, I want to
- 15:56Speaker 6: get a foothold.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I want to start. And I have this really cool idea.
- 15:59Speaker 6: To some very, very mainstay companies. Companies that have more
- 16:03Speaker 6: than enough to be able to publish, but what they're
- 16:05Speaker 6: actually getting from Kickstarter and GameFound is marketing. And we've
- 16:09Speaker 6: been complaining that, frankly, GG lacks in that marketing. So
- 16:12Speaker 6: at the very least, I know in my own messaging
- 16:16Speaker 6: this week, I've seen that they tapped into the GameFound from, well...
- 16:21Speaker 6: I believe they tapped into another game found that was there.
- 16:24Speaker 6: And so they're reaching out with previous amounts because the
- 16:27Speaker 6: more game founds we've gotten in, we've lost people. And
- 16:30Speaker 6: many people have been clamoring for online play. So if
- 16:33Speaker 6: nothing else, and it provides marketing to say, hey, this
- 16:36Speaker 6: game is around.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I miss it.
- 16:38Speaker 6: I want to come back. I look for it. Maybe
- 16:40Speaker 6: they dabble because it's an online client. I think that's
- 16:44Speaker 6: very exciting for the future here.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I like.
- 16:52Speaker 4: A better client with proper integration, it can't hurt us. Uh,
- 17:00Speaker 4: in my opinion, I mean, as, as I've talked in
- 17:04Speaker 4: many shows, I also am not one who's super convinced
- 17:09Speaker 4: we have the population to, uh, have explosive growth that,
- 17:16Speaker 4: you know, everybody who says like, Oh, if there was OP,
- 17:18Speaker 4: we would have crazy growth. I think that's absolutely crazy.
- 17:21Speaker 4: I mean, we would have less attrition.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I don't know if anybody's ever said that. I think
- 17:28Speaker 2: we said if we've had OP, we'd have some growth.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Slow motion is better than no motion, you know. That's
- 17:36Speaker 2: what she said.
- 17:38Speaker 6: I think it's somewhere in between from where both of
- 17:40Speaker 6: you guys are standing, and that's what most of the
- 17:42Speaker 6: community can see. We do have a large attrition right now.
- 17:45Speaker 6: This can cut into it. Is it going to show
- 17:47Speaker 6: massive growth? I hope so, but realistically, probably not. It'll
- 17:51Speaker 6: show some growth. You'll have some people be like, hey,
- 17:55Speaker 6: I played this online. Now, the next question is, what's
- 17:59Speaker 6: the distribution method? Is it just game file?
- 18:03Speaker 1: Oh.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, are you asking? It's going to be on Steam.
- 18:11Speaker 2: It is going to be on Steam. I thought I've
- 18:13Speaker 2: read everything. I was going to say, is this going
- 18:14Speaker 2: to be on Steam? Is this going to only be
- 18:16Speaker 2: on keyforging.com? Because we know how everybody flocks there for things.
- 18:24Speaker 6: Yeah i think steam is a much bigger platform did
- 18:26Speaker 6: they put a dollar amount on it or is it
- 18:29Speaker 6: free to play.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Nope that none of that's been announced yeah we don't
- 18:33Speaker 1: know it's been an announcement okay what do we think
- 18:37Speaker 1: they should do there well they should figure out how
- 18:40Speaker 1: much they need to be able to produce the game
- 18:43Speaker 1: and then i say they need that much money i
- 18:48Speaker 1: am not a developer i am bad.
- 18:50Speaker 4: At guessing this number. I see some people saying, you
- 18:54Speaker 4: see some people saying, oh, they should be able to
- 18:55Speaker 4: ask for a hundred grand. And I'm like, I don't
- 18:57Speaker 4: think a hundred grand does it. And then there's other
- 18:59Speaker 4: people saying, oh, they're going to need a million dollars.
- 19:02Speaker 4: And there's no way they're raising a million dollars on
- 19:05Speaker 4: a key forge thing.
- 19:06Speaker 5: And there's definitely, we did it once as, you know,
- 19:10Speaker 5: a guy in the software field.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 4: But like, it, it's weird to think about like, is
- 19:15Speaker 4: there their game found. Right. So like, When you're selling
- 19:22Speaker 4: game found software, like especially on something like that is
- 19:27Speaker 4: a card game software where you're paying for packs, you
- 19:31Speaker 4: don't typically pay for the software itself, right? Like the
- 19:35Speaker 4: software is free and then you pay for.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Magic Online is free and then you pay for the
- 19:40Speaker 2: product that you want to continue playing.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Most of these things, right? And then you pay for
- 19:44Speaker 4: the content. So i'm i've never game founded anything like
- 19:47Speaker 4: this so i'm not really sure what they're selling outside
- 19:52Speaker 4: of some cosmetics because the other thing they can sell
- 19:54Speaker 4: is like oh when you back at this level you're
- 19:56Speaker 4: gonna have 200 deck tokens so you could open 200
- 20:00Speaker 4: decks and that's just like but they're you know they're
- 20:06Speaker 4: i don't know that doesn't feel like I don't know
- 20:09Speaker 4: if that's what you sell during a thing.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, deck tokens, skins for the backgrounds, images, being able to...
- 20:15Speaker 3: I mean, you can picture... I mean, I guess.
- 20:18Speaker 6: And this is all conjecture, a thousand percent conjecture, but
- 20:20Speaker 6: if we can look at chain, you could have some
- 20:22Speaker 6: way to be able to document your individual record, what
- 20:25Speaker 6: you're doing, potentially for accolades for decks that have ascended
- 20:29Speaker 6: through tournaments or online play in leagues.
- 20:34Speaker 3: You can... potentially add those components.
- 20:38Speaker 6: But all of that is, again, taking money and resources
- 20:42Speaker 6: to be able to create. I don't know how long
- 20:46Speaker 6: that would require to be able to do. But, Drez,
- 20:48Speaker 6: you were trying to say something in regards to a
- 20:50Speaker 6: little bit more knowledge.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Well, I'm in the software field, right? So I have
- 20:55Speaker 5: a sense of how much software costs to make. And
- 20:59Speaker 5: it's not super cheap, but a lot of cost... differential
- 21:05Speaker 5: comes from how where on the scale of your you
- 21:12Speaker 5: created this in your free time and hack something together
- 21:15Speaker 5: and and uh created a server called drazscore.com right that
- 21:22Speaker 5: all the way up to this is a yeah yeah
- 21:25Speaker 5: where claude does most of the work Claude does 100%
- 21:29Speaker 5: of the work. Literally, I've never written a line of
- 21:33Speaker 5: code for draft score myself. But that to not make
- 21:41Speaker 5: it be like a total mess, you have to actually
- 21:45Speaker 5: build software and know what you're doing. Anywho, that's not
- 21:49Speaker 5: what we're talking about today. So a lot of the
- 21:52Speaker 5: cost comes from how do you make this all the
- 21:55Speaker 5: way up to like top tier enterprise grade, right? So
- 21:59Speaker 5: the same software product with, you know, five nines of
- 22:04Speaker 5: resiliency and, you know, never, you know, super hardened, no
- 22:09Speaker 5: data loss, total, like all the ilities, like highly performant,
- 22:13Speaker 5: all these things, like anywhere in the world, distributed, right?
- 22:16Speaker 5: Like all that stuff, all that stuff is engineering and
- 22:21Speaker 5: costs money, both to build and upkeep.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Ongoing.
- 22:27Speaker 5: So the scale can be quite large, right? And then
- 22:31Speaker 5: it's like, okay, you're just kind of the developers do
- 22:34Speaker 5: the graphics. If it were me, you probably don't want that. Um,
- 22:39Speaker 5: cause I'm not an expert in graphics. So even when
- 22:41Speaker 5: I asked Claude to do stuff, it kind of doesn't
- 22:42Speaker 5: look good. Cause you have to know what you're doing
- 22:45Speaker 5: to make it look good. Um, all the way up
- 22:48Speaker 5: to the, you know, higher artists and, and do it
- 22:51Speaker 5: for real. So like there's, you, you could spend a
- 22:55Speaker 5: ton of money or you could try to do this
- 22:58Speaker 5: on the cheap. So they've already answered somewhere that they
- 23:02Speaker 5: will not be using AI for any of the generation
- 23:06Speaker 5: of this product.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Well, I think that's a mistake.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I think they should start code.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Nobody cares about the code, right? Like I think they
- 23:16Speaker 2: just said, all right, I don't see anything about that.
- 23:18Speaker 2: So that's probably wiser. I'm going to stop supporting things
- 23:22Speaker 2: that are like, no AI will be used in this.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I want all the AI.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Right. Like I want, I want.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Some happy medium.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I want my third place.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Like that other meme where they're like, where's the AI
- 23:38Speaker 4: that does my laundry and my dishes. I don't need AI.
- 23:40Speaker 4: They'll do art. I'm with that.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Where is the.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Affordable, good AI that's going to do my freaking yard work?
- 23:48Speaker 2: No one would bitch about that AI. I would pay
- 23:52Speaker 2: for that AI.
- 23:55Speaker 5: We forgot to highlight the Patreon. Where is some of
- 23:59Speaker 5: this Patreon stuff that Wookiee was putting out? Man, I
- 24:04Speaker 5: totally lost it. I was going to highlight the quality. Yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 5: it's great.
- 24:09Speaker 4: AI makes.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yeah, where was it? There was there was a great one.
- 24:13Speaker 2: There was one of the five key. Here we go.
- 24:18Speaker 2: This this is sent to our patrons.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 24:20Speaker 2: So the guys who are like, I love keys.
- 24:23Speaker 5: So I love you. So I got to you that
- 24:26Speaker 5: I'm going to push this out. So five key force
- 24:30Speaker 5: facts you may not know.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Patrons.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Right.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Number one, every deck is unique. Hmm.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Yeah. Except for those well, guys.
- 24:41Speaker 2: But we don't talk about that.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Speaking of Woe Decks, just the other day I had
- 24:47Speaker 5: a Master Vault claim on a Woe Deck. I was like, oh,
- 24:49Speaker 5: somebody found a duplicate of one of mine.
- 24:53Speaker 2: You have so much ADD in this podcast. Alright, anyways.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Number two. Three factions, one deck. Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Number three, no deck building. Number four, global community. Number five,
- 25:09Speaker 5: build to last.
- 25:11Speaker 2: That's right. So what's the problem? It blows your mind.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I don't see the problem. Anywho, no lies were told there.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Not one.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Did it add depth to our Keyforged community?
- 25:29Speaker 2: Nobody's here for depth. Everything's paper thin. Come on. Let's
- 25:34Speaker 2: be honest.
- 25:35Speaker 4: So.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Higher expectations, Wookie.
- 25:37Speaker 2: You get two beers and we all fall apart like
- 25:41Speaker 2: a house of cards. Maybe not Draskor because he doesn't
- 25:45Speaker 2: drink beer. Maybe three beers. Two Shirley Temples in, Draskor's
- 25:50Speaker 2: bubbling like a baby.
- 25:53Speaker 6: Alright, to refocus you guys, we've gone ahead and looked
- 25:58Speaker 6: at what we know so far, some initial questions.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Are there other questions that you would like to be
- 26:04Speaker 3: able to answer? Because there's a lot that.
- 26:06Speaker 2: There's so many! Am I going to be able to.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Which is why I'm going to try and refocus you.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Am I going to be able to print out the...
- 26:14Speaker 4: Am I going to be able to print out the
- 26:15Speaker 4: digital decks.
- 26:18Speaker 2: To be able to play? The indication is likely.
- 26:22Speaker 4: But that's not like that's not like here's how this
- 26:25Speaker 4: works and this is how it goes.
- 26:27Speaker 5: But it would be outrageous miss if you couldn't. I
- 26:32Speaker 5: don't think that's why. How because I actually it's just
- 26:39Speaker 5: money about it's just filter money to a thing you
- 26:42Speaker 5: already do and provide here.
- 26:44Speaker 4: What is the problem? OK, so Draskor, here's your choice.
- 26:49Speaker 4: You can either buy a box from your store. Yep. Right.
- 26:53Speaker 4: For $ 180 or less because you get a discount. Or
- 26:58Speaker 4: you can buy 12 of my digital decks for $ 2
- 27:02Speaker 4: or $ 3 a piece.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I don't know if that's going to be true. So
- 27:05Speaker 2: I'm GG. I make the same amount. That was my
- 27:08Speaker 2: next question.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Shush, shush.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Shush.
- 27:12Speaker 3: All right. What are you going to do?
- 27:14Speaker 4: You're going to buy cheap digital decks. And I agree.
- 27:17Speaker 4: You can make it where GG makes a similar amount.
- 27:20Speaker 5: Right?
- 27:20Speaker 4: If they set the price basically at their digital market
- 27:25Speaker 4: plus whatever GG makes for a deck, right? Minus printing stuff. Okay.
- 27:31Speaker 4: But now you have eliminated any need to have these
- 27:37Speaker 4: real decks because stores are not going to carry this
- 27:39Speaker 4: game at all.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Well, we already knew that.
- 27:44Speaker 4: But this is something they.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Claim Riku.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Yellow King is claiming is that they have already considered
- 27:53Speaker 4: this and keeping the physical game focused as part of
- 27:58Speaker 4: it is critical to this. So they supposedly don't want to... Yeah, where's.
- 28:03Speaker 2: The section of this talk where I go, I don't
- 28:07Speaker 2: believe that shit for a second. Oh, but it is
- 28:09Speaker 2: so important.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Until they actually release real information... All we can do
- 28:15Speaker 4: is speculate and talk. Sure.
- 28:17Speaker 2: This is true because I think in my weird twisted
- 28:21Speaker 2: tinfoil armadillo hat mind, right? This is a way for
- 28:26Speaker 2: them to get out of physical paper. They don't want
- 28:31Speaker 2: to do that.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Half of his company is making the money off the
- 28:36Speaker 4: physical printer. Ghost Galaxy pays Artiforge. But now, Artiforge is
- 28:41Speaker 4: able to go do more? Echoes of Omens is coming out.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Echoes of Omens is not coming out.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Well, we don't know when Echoes is coming out. If
- 28:51Speaker 2: I can get one thing.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Off the printer.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Right? Come on, Jeremy. More time to other games.
- 29:07Speaker 4: We don't have any idea what kind of capacity the
- 29:10Speaker 4: printers have.
- 29:11Speaker 2: This is true.
- 29:12Speaker 6: And the short answer is that Keyforge right now is
- 29:15Speaker 6: a money generator for the company.
- 29:17Speaker 3: It allows them to be able to do other things. So...
- 29:21Speaker 3: our numbers are decreasing.
- 29:22Speaker 2: You can see that last game campaign. I don't know
- 29:25Speaker 2: how much of.
- 29:25Speaker 6: It is decreasing anymore, but it has, it has not
- 29:29Speaker 6: turned them into, we're not doing this at all.
- 29:31Speaker 4: And so it's still digital only. I wouldn't even play
- 29:34Speaker 4: this game anymore. I would not care about Keyforged at all.
- 29:39Speaker 4: I don't play other digital card games because that's not
- 29:44Speaker 4: what I want to do. I play some digital Keyforged
- 29:47Speaker 4: so I can keep in contact with people I can't
- 29:50Speaker 4: see regularly, but if I didn't get to see these
- 29:53Speaker 4: people sometime, I wouldn't even care about that. I don't
- 29:58Speaker 4: Don't care. But I.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Think this is where the idea of tied in with
- 30:03Speaker 6: local support and with physical is so important. And I
- 30:08Speaker 6: will say, while I would have some concern with maybe
- 30:12Speaker 6: a third party, seeing that Riku's investment for the Vietnamese community,
- 30:19Speaker 6: seeing DeadSync's investment with Tracker, KeyChain, like the KeyChain and
- 30:24Speaker 6: all that's happened already.
- 30:25Speaker 2: DeadSync's not one of the enemies. What are you talking about?
- 30:28Speaker 6: No, no, that's what I... It is not working at
- 30:31Speaker 6: the enemy. What I'm saying is they actually....
- 30:35Speaker 3: They bring in.
- 30:38Speaker 6: An importance of community and trying to build each of
- 30:42Speaker 6: those communities. And that is what gives me more confidence
- 30:46Speaker 6: that they will try to take something that they're making
- 30:49Speaker 6: digital and it will have some connection back to the
- 30:52Speaker 6: physical so we can still play. If this was just
- 30:55Speaker 6: someone that I didn't know... I would have a real
- 30:57Speaker 6: concern that they're trying to just push digital and we're
- 30:59Speaker 6: not going to see that physical store, which means, again,
- 31:02Speaker 6: more stores drop out. There's less incentive to be able
- 31:05Speaker 6: to back. Well, number one, we have issues. We have
- 31:07Speaker 6: to prove we have to prove the theory of digital.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Right. So it's not coming out for another, what, two years, 28.
- 31:18Speaker 2: So they got to prove that theory. But I think
- 31:21Speaker 2: I think once that theory is proven, I can't see
- 31:25Speaker 2: a CTP going. Yeah. We got other things in the pipeline.
- 31:30Speaker 2: He's done it before. This is his MO. This is
- 31:34Speaker 2: what he does. He finds ways to cut costs, turn
- 31:37Speaker 2: certain things. Now, in a couple years, if Keyforge is
- 31:41Speaker 2: still their main moneymaker, then maybe not.
- 31:46Speaker 6: Well, your question that was asked was, what's the cost?
- 31:49Speaker 6: So we have no idea on what a cost of
- 31:51Speaker 6: a digital deck is versus a physical deck.
- 31:53Speaker 3: And I don't see the cost being much different. Well,
- 31:57Speaker 3: and that's a big question.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I can't see it having the same. Hardly any success
- 32:05Speaker 4: beyond already established Key Forge players. If you're like, oh,
- 32:09Speaker 4: I'm going to play this game. And, you know, even
- 32:11Speaker 4: if you get a free deck when you create your account.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 32:15Speaker 4: And then you go and you're like, OK, so I
- 32:18Speaker 4: created my free deck. All right. Oh, this deck isn't
- 32:20Speaker 4: very good. And then you're like, oh, I want to
- 32:21Speaker 4: play a different deck. $ 10 for a digital deck. It
- 32:26Speaker 4: never happened. Because that cost includes the paper, the cards,
- 32:31Speaker 4: the shipping, and you're not actually paying for... None of
- 32:34Speaker 4: that actually exists.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Right?
- 32:38Speaker 4: This is where I'm like, they'll have to be cheaper
- 32:40Speaker 4: because you're only paying for a digital product. I don't
- 32:43Speaker 4: know how much cheaper, but that just means... That means
- 32:47Speaker 4: from the point of cracking, it ends up being cheaper
- 32:52Speaker 4: to crack online, which.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Is is a issue with trying to keep it in
- 32:59Speaker 4: game stores but i kind of agree with you i
- 33:01Speaker 4: don't know how much that actually matters to them because
- 33:04Speaker 4: they're not doing a very good job right now supporting
- 33:07Speaker 4: game stores anyways so.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Whatever happened to that summer or fall event whatever.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Discovery event and yeah anything.
- 33:17Speaker 2: It's all the same shit right where's our where's our
- 33:20Speaker 2: summer event Where is... Remember that discovery event where we
- 33:26Speaker 2: were going to have cool keys to get new people
- 33:28Speaker 2: into the game? We were going to have a whole
- 33:30Speaker 2: thing of those? You guys remember that? You're talking about that.
- 33:35Speaker 6: We still haven't gotten a write-up for any of the vaults,
- 33:38Speaker 6: minus Riku, who literally did it right after the Vietnam vault.
- 33:42Speaker 2: I was getting there, but you kind of came in
- 33:44Speaker 2: and stole my thunder, but it's cool.
- 33:46Speaker 4: You guys are all on kick the same dead horse
- 33:48Speaker 4: train today.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Thank you. I'm sorry, Sheep. At this point, you have
- 33:52Speaker 2: to kick the same dead horse, because if you don't
- 33:54Speaker 2: kick the same.
- 33:54Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Everybody already knows it.
- 33:56Speaker 2: It's kicked.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Everybody already knows, but nothing happens if you don't kick
- 34:00Speaker 4: the fucking horse.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Nothing happens when you do kick the horse. It makes
- 34:05Speaker 2: me feel better.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Well, it doesn't make me feel better.
- 34:09Speaker 6: Here's my concern, boys. My concern is not with our
- 34:15Speaker 6: community members. I actually have a lot of success and
- 34:19Speaker 6: belief in our key footage community members who continue to
- 34:22Speaker 6: go above and beyond, from podcasts to content creators to
- 34:25Speaker 6: literally the individuals here who have such an impact for
- 34:30Speaker 6: the digital version that's coming out. My concern comes more
- 34:34Speaker 6: on the GG side in what I'm seeing for the
- 34:38Speaker 6: product that's there. So one of the concerns I actually
- 34:43Speaker 6: have is that timeframe of 2028, just based on the
- 34:47Speaker 6: impact of PV and where the game is right now.
- 34:51Speaker 6: And I will say that against them, but I can't
- 34:56Speaker 6: say that our game is in the best state of
- 34:59Speaker 6: that everyone's super excited, and that we have more people
- 35:02Speaker 6: coming in than leaving, and at what rate. So the
- 35:06Speaker 6: timeframe is a bit of a concern, but what I
- 35:09Speaker 6: am excited about is the people who are having their
- 35:12Speaker 6: hands in it, who are willing to take and make
- 35:16Speaker 6: this that next step. That's Yellow King. I think that's
- 35:21Speaker 6: very exciting. There are some concerns, though. I do think
- 35:24Speaker 6: with U-Sheep that the cost has to be less than
- 35:28Speaker 6: the deck. I think that it probably has to be
- 35:32Speaker 6: in the realm that it is at least less than
- 35:34Speaker 6: half of it. I believe that they'll be able to
- 35:40Speaker 6: tie it back in. Hopefully, hey, bring this digital deck.
- 35:47Speaker 6: Have some border or some treatment that you can print
- 35:49Speaker 6: out and be able to take in, or Have an
- 35:53Speaker 6: online tournament that you have here. Return to your store
- 35:57Speaker 6: for some... I mean, there were some great ideas that
- 36:00Speaker 6: were posted on Discord from other individuals, not myself.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I will not take credit for that. But that is
- 36:07Speaker 3: part of what they have.
- 36:08Speaker 2: To think about. I'll take credit for it.
- 36:10Speaker 6: What's incentivizing people to support this amazing endeavor outside of, hey,
- 36:15Speaker 6: we got some great people doing it.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And then.
- 36:20Speaker 6: How is this going to be able to tie in
- 36:22Speaker 6: with our local scene?
- 36:24Speaker 2: Really, honestly, the first thing we need to know is
- 36:26Speaker 2: GG's involvement. How entrenched are they in this? Right? Because
- 36:34Speaker 2: the game found is.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Oversight and veto rights, I think.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Right. Probably. Right. Oversight and veto rights. How does this
- 36:45Speaker 2: connect back to the greater key... So who's issuing the decks?
- 36:50Speaker 2: Is it GG issuing the decks? Or is it Yellow
- 36:52Speaker 2: King issuing the decks?
- 36:55Speaker 4: It's just like it is now. They get a deck code.
- 36:58Speaker 4: They get a list of deck codes from GG, and
- 37:00Speaker 4: then they give it to you.
- 37:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, Yellow King, make sure you got in
- 37:05Speaker 5: that contract that if they stop producing, you get the
- 37:10Speaker 5: algorithm so you can generate decks.
- 37:13Speaker 2: That should be in the contract.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I like generating decks isn't really an issue. Actually,
- 37:25Speaker 4: my thought is what happens is, so they generate the
- 37:29Speaker 4: decks and then the AFO then has to use the
- 37:34Speaker 4: API to ping the master vault to get the deck
- 37:37Speaker 4: list right after it has the code and sends it back.
- 37:41Speaker 4: That's just how often the master vault is going to
- 37:43Speaker 4: be down. decks don't load and crap and yelking they're
- 37:50Speaker 4: just going to be like sorry we understand that you
- 37:52Speaker 4: can't use these decks you just paid for it's not
- 37:55Speaker 4: our fault really really really maybe GG will fix this
- 37:59Speaker 4: in 4-6 months we'll get back to you in 4-6
- 38:01Speaker 4: months do you think.
- 38:02Speaker 5: They're actually going to fix the decks with the missing
- 38:04Speaker 5: cards I literally just opened one and posted it on
- 38:10Speaker 5: posted it on our forums so that deck I posted
- 38:13Speaker 5: with that bogus legacy, uh, that card is missing in
- 38:17Speaker 5: the master vault.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 2: So what was.
- 38:19Speaker 6: The response dress that it pinged back from a master
- 38:24Speaker 6: vault when you tried to put it in?
- 38:26Speaker 4: It just comes up. Yeah.
- 38:27Speaker 2: It's just missing a card.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Oh, cause I actually had a deck scan. It was
- 38:33Speaker 3: the weirdest thing.
- 38:34Speaker 6: And it said unable to scan any, put it literally,
- 38:39Speaker 6: it was just a cleanly ripped deck.
- 38:41Speaker 3: And I'm like, I've never seen that error.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Was it a spicy name?
- 38:46Speaker 3: No, not at all.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Wasn't Breastula?
- 38:49Speaker 3: No. I'll have to go ahead and put it off.
- 38:51Speaker 2: To the side. Is your name Breastula?
- 38:53Speaker 3: It didn't really matter to me, but I put it
- 38:55Speaker 3: to the side and I'm like, what the?
- 38:57Speaker 2: There we go. I'll screenshot this for you guys. Let's see.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Is it a missing card or what? It's just gone.
- 39:04Speaker 5: No, it's just literally... Throw it in there for you.
- 39:10Speaker 5: If you listen to us live Thursdays at whatever time
- 39:14Speaker 5: this is.
- 39:15Speaker 4: If we do it at this time.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes. It's not there. It's on the card. So
- 39:24Speaker 2: that deck allows you to add any Mars card from
- 39:27Speaker 2: any set, right?
- 39:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I think so.
- 39:29Speaker 5: So i yeah so so if you guys are wondering
- 39:32Speaker 5: i have in i have a deck the the one
- 39:36Speaker 5: of a kind queen of kate polu uh and this
- 39:41Speaker 5: deck is a draconian measures deck and in this deck
- 39:47Speaker 5: there's a card, which actually it's a Mars card. So,
- 39:49Speaker 5: of course, now I don't remember the name of it.
- 39:50Speaker 2: So hold on. Let me pull up the image real quick.
- 39:53Speaker 2: It's probably got enough words in it to choke a horse.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Am I right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where is it?
- 40:01Speaker 3: Here it is.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:02Speaker 2: It has.
- 40:06Speaker 5: A legacy card, T.T. Yerkson Delive, which you're probably like,
- 40:13Speaker 5: what the heck is that? This is from the, yeah,
- 40:16Speaker 5: I know. This is a three power Martian creature, scientist, elusive.
- 40:22Speaker 5: At the end of your turn, you may put a
- 40:24Speaker 5: creature from play face down under Trixin Delive. After reap
- 40:29Speaker 5: for each card under Trixin Delive, you may make a
- 40:32Speaker 5: token creature or make a token creature. And so this
- 40:35Speaker 5: is from the Martian Civil War special event. And I
- 40:40Speaker 5: got it in a draconian measures deck. So it does
- 40:44Speaker 5: not appear.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Yeah, doesn't this have something to do with that? They
- 40:47Speaker 4: didn't art asset those to show up with. I think
- 40:53Speaker 4: it has something to do with that. They're just not
- 40:55Speaker 4: asseted right in the background because they're weird legacies.
- 40:59Speaker 2: You said maybe.
- 41:01Speaker 5: So you can't get, unfortunately, you cannot get a dress
- 41:05Speaker 5: score on this car on this deck.
- 41:08Speaker 2: This is a card. Yeah. Yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 4: So I will look at it. It's not the master
- 41:16Speaker 4: ball back end.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Everything is, doesn't it?
- 41:20Speaker 4: I would assume so. It's just interesting because I wonder, like,
- 41:24Speaker 4: there are things that we don't obviously know. So, you know,
- 41:26Speaker 4: they print whatever, 100,000 decks now for a set. And
- 41:30Speaker 4: if this has significantly more sales, do they just run 100,000
- 41:37Speaker 4: decks without a print and that's what they're going to have?
- 41:42Speaker 2: They could.
- 41:43Speaker 5: They could run as many for each as they want.
- 41:45Speaker 5: They could run them later. They could do it on demand.
- 41:49Speaker 4: There are things that concern me about more independent potential
- 41:58Speaker 4: access to the backend of key forge. Cause if you
- 42:02Speaker 4: could find the decks before they were scanned shenanigans. Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 3: And that's interesting.
- 42:11Speaker 6: Cause you just said that one of the, one of
- 42:13Speaker 6: the questions that I had, and I think this is
- 42:15Speaker 6: relevant is what is the impact for tracking of games
- 42:21Speaker 6: on key forge online, who will have access to that,
- 42:26Speaker 6: who will not have access to that. And I think
- 42:28Speaker 6: that's a, like, For super transparency, that's really important that
- 42:35Speaker 6: your independent access to Keyforge, as you said, Sheep, was there.
- 42:39Speaker 6: Gigi always was the one who was in charge of
- 42:41Speaker 6: that and not necessarily others. And I can state it
- 42:44Speaker 6: as we had, TCO has been really good about what
- 42:47Speaker 6: they've had. I will say KIPP ran into some issues
- 42:52Speaker 6: with open licensing and kind of user agreements and.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Open information for EU.
- 43:01Speaker 6: Um, so I think that that is a question that
- 43:03Speaker 6: I have as well as like, I mean, that's how
- 43:05Speaker 6: are the games going to.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Be legal product. They've got to figure it out. They
- 43:09Speaker 4: got to deal with all that, like their own user
- 43:12Speaker 4: license and put that stuff up there. And yeah, I
- 43:15Speaker 4: don't know what it'll say.
- 43:17Speaker 6: It is important, but I'm saying we have like, well,
- 43:21Speaker 6: three human dead sink are two individuals who are well-connected
- 43:25Speaker 6: in our key forge community and, But does that mean
- 43:28Speaker 6: that they will no longer.
- 43:29Speaker 5: Be able to.
- 43:29Speaker 2: But what do we really know about that Riku and DeadSync?
- 43:32Speaker 6: No, but what I'm saying is, will that eliminate them
- 43:36Speaker 6: from being able to participate because they now have access
- 43:39Speaker 6: to additional information?
- 43:40Speaker 2: Well, DeadSync is already a part of that inner circle.
- 43:45Speaker 2: I understand what's there, but... He is eliminated. My assumption
- 43:48Speaker 2: is yes. I mean, Riku is like... Man, does he just... He's...
- 43:54Speaker 2: damn near there, except they didn't give him the fucking
- 43:56Speaker 2: polo yet, right? He runs all the shit in Vietnam.
- 44:00Speaker 2: He is the distribution in Vietnam.
- 44:02Speaker 4: But he plays. I mean, there's a big difference.
- 44:05Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, he plays, but I mean... And wins.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Well, but at the same time.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Quite suspicious, would you say? Yeah.
- 44:14Speaker 4: All I'm saying is, I think this is just Riku's
- 44:18Speaker 4: scam to get decks even cheaper than he was.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Oh, Jesus.
- 44:22Speaker 4: That's all this is. This is just a big, a big,
- 44:24Speaker 4: I mean, like, he'll end up with just like the
- 44:26Speaker 4: Vietnamese decks that he sold to people at better than
- 44:30Speaker 4: GG prices. You know, like, you know, this is just
- 44:34Speaker 4: the next level of that scam. He's just even cheaper decks.
- 44:37Speaker 2: It's a weird Key Forge pyramid scheme. What?
- 44:40Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Well, I will.
- 44:42Speaker 3: I will tell you, sheep.
- 44:43Speaker 6: One of your concerns is that when you open a
- 44:47Speaker 6: Key Forge deck and it is poopoo. uh, that you
- 44:50Speaker 6: just leave behind for others to, uh, take home or
- 44:53Speaker 6: try to, uh, put in their bags or frankly, you're not.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Going to be able to delete digital backs.
- 45:01Speaker 3: But here's the thing.
- 45:01Speaker 6: You don't even have to worry about that anymore because
- 45:04Speaker 6: it's just poof.
- 45:05Speaker 4: I'm a hundred percent. Like if I physically playing that
- 45:09Speaker 4: deck in an event, I'm with open and digital. So
- 45:13Speaker 4: I don't have to keep the physical.
- 45:15Speaker 2: And this is going to be thrilled, right? By all
- 45:18Speaker 2: the key forge and have none of the space taken
- 45:21Speaker 2: up by it.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Oh, Is it so that it would just be like
- 45:24Speaker 4: $ 25 to print one of these digital decks? Because, again,
- 45:28Speaker 4: like I say, if they're quite a bit cheaper, I
- 45:31Speaker 4: expect them to be... And then there's the same cost
- 45:33Speaker 4: to print. Why would you buy physical decks outside of
- 45:37Speaker 4: your playing with them in a sealed event? Unless you're
- 45:43Speaker 4: a kitchen table player and that's how you play. There
- 45:47Speaker 4: are other reasons to have physical decks, for sure, but...
- 45:50Speaker 4: Just from the semi-competitive, like to not be able to
- 45:54Speaker 4: open and then not have to actually own the physical cards.
- 45:58Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm in in that regard.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Right. I'm all in.
- 46:01Speaker 4: How much nicer are my Wednesday, Friday, Saturday events we had?
- 46:08Speaker 2: Oh, shit. You would have to set nobody deck codes.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Everybody just does it on their own.
- 46:14Speaker 5: Yeah, even X-Ray could deal with putting his own deck.
- 46:18Speaker 2: X-Ray won't be able to figure this one out. Somebody
- 46:20Speaker 2: will need to hold his hand and walk him through it.
- 46:24Speaker 5: Yeah, Riku, you might want to make X-Ray a playtester,
- 46:26Speaker 5: because if he can use it, then.
- 46:28Speaker 2: If X-Ray can figure it out, anyone can figure it out. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Just to let you know, X-Ray's preferred choice of social
- 46:37Speaker 2: media is still MySpace.
- 46:39Speaker 3: So.
- 46:42Speaker 4: No, he doesn't even know what MySpace is. He didn't
- 46:46Speaker 4: have to learn about computers until college.
- 46:49Speaker 2: No, no. When the hell did he go to college?
- 46:53Speaker 4: He's a Facebooker.
- 46:55Speaker 2: He's an old man.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Yes.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Like when I had to set you all aside and
- 47:00Speaker 2: explain to you short form content. Yeah, like when you
- 47:05Speaker 2: started to type thefacebook.com. And you guys are like, I
- 47:08Speaker 2: don't understand what this is. Why is this a thing?
- 47:11Speaker 2: And why are all the kids loving it? You have
- 47:14Speaker 2: to have an EDU account.
- 47:15Speaker 3: That was not what the issue was.
- 47:16Speaker 6: The issue was that it actually doesn't show up when
- 47:19Speaker 6: you search for it because you were creating content that
- 47:23Speaker 6: couldn't be found.
- 47:23Speaker 4: It's like you've got to click on the short form thing.
- 47:25Speaker 4: We're like, why would we ever click on that garbage?
- 47:27Speaker 6: Why are you clicking on that if I literally cannot
- 47:31Speaker 6: search for it That's a problem.
- 47:34Speaker 3: That's what we were trying to tell you.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Yeah, because nobody's searching for Keyforge. So, like, it makes
- 47:42Speaker 2: that not a thing. Because it's YouTube. And you guys went, oh, YouTube.
- 47:47Speaker 2: And then, like, all the things. Whatever. I'll change it
- 47:51Speaker 2: next time.
- 47:53Speaker 3: I won't.
- 47:54Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 47:55Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 47:56Speaker 4: Well, lie to us. Yeah. We're too lazy to check you.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, last time I just fucking... like I said,
- 48:04Speaker 2: I even sent you all the links. I don't know
- 48:06Speaker 2: how to make it any easier. Uh, okay.
- 48:12Speaker 6: Any other questions or things that you're excited about?
- 48:17Speaker 5: I mean, like I, so I think what they definitely
- 48:21Speaker 5: need is make sure that there was a really, really
- 48:25Speaker 5: great way. One for a new player who's never played
- 48:29Speaker 5: the game before to, um, Yeah, the tutorial and easy
- 48:34Speaker 5: get started thing to make sure they are wowed by
- 48:39Speaker 5: cool special effects and cool sound effects for the first
- 48:44Speaker 5: few games.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 48:45Speaker 5: And like that'll really grab people like the in the
- 48:49Speaker 5: YouTube video.
- 48:50Speaker 2: That whirlpool effect. That was cool.
- 48:53Speaker 5: Definitely do that stuff and then make sure you can
- 48:55Speaker 5: go into the settings and turn it all off after
- 48:58Speaker 5: you've been wowed by it a few times. because hardcore
- 49:02Speaker 5: players may not want that but i knew players definitely
- 49:06Speaker 5: definitely want that like uh yeah i mean the big
- 49:11Speaker 5: problem with tcl right is like and everything happens instantly
- 49:14Speaker 5: in tcl so a new player great for experienced players
- 49:17Speaker 5: right there should be a mode for that but for
- 49:20Speaker 5: new players, you're like, suddenly the board changes. You're like, wait,
- 49:24Speaker 5: what the hell just happened? And you try to read
- 49:25Speaker 5: the log and it's confusing.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Yeah, TCL is a horrible teaching tool.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Does this become, like, the Magic Online versus Magic Arena?
- 49:35Speaker 3: Like.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Real players play on TCO because of the quickness, the speed,
- 49:40Speaker 2: the ability to play whatever. And then, like, newer players
- 49:43Speaker 2: go to KFO.
- 49:44Speaker 4: I mean, I can see if it's too blatant in
- 49:48Speaker 4: graphics and garbage that it would turn me off.
- 49:51Speaker 2: You have to be able to disable it.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Yeah, but then your opponent doesn't, and their turns take forever. Oh,
- 49:59Speaker 4: let's just play Europeans. It'll be fine.
- 50:02Speaker 3: I guess that was actually the question.
- 50:04Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Or Ewok.
- 50:06Speaker 6: Because I didn't see the log, but there's actually a
- 50:11Speaker 6: section in the video that calls out history that you
- 50:13Speaker 6: can go back and see what happened.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Yeah, that's all standard. It was standard.
- 50:19Speaker 3: I just didn't see it in the video, so that's
- 50:21Speaker 3: why I went back to check.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Arena has that too, I'm pretty sure.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Really, when you look at it, the popular... The semi-popular
- 50:31Speaker 4: video game programming tool.
- 50:33Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 50:35Speaker 4: That half the stuff's programmed in.
- 50:37Speaker 2: I can't think of it right now. Unreal Engine?
- 50:40Speaker 4: Unity?
- 50:41Speaker 2: Unity.
- 50:41Speaker 4: Unity already has 80% of being able to build a
- 50:47Speaker 4: card game, I bet you, just like in standard stuff.
- 50:50Speaker 4: Because there's been so many of them done. Yep. Now,
- 50:55Speaker 4: I'm not... I don't know much more than that, but
- 50:57Speaker 4: I know it's already got a lot of the underlying stuff.
- 51:01Speaker 4: And the fact that TCO is just a rip-on some
- 51:05Speaker 4: other game's thing and then recoded to do things Keyforge
- 51:09Speaker 4: has to do. It's not like they have to build
- 51:14Speaker 4: from the ground up completely. Keyforge is not doing that much.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Hard gamey stuff.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but we're going to have 17 new mechanics in
- 51:27Speaker 2: two years.
- 51:29Speaker 4: Yeah, so they got to add.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Sure, they'll have some coding work to do, just like TCO.
- 51:33Speaker 4: I mean, there's going to be a reason that the
- 51:36Speaker 4: decks aren't free, because they have to pay for.
- 51:40Speaker 2: No, I understand that. I mean, because to a certain degree,
- 51:43Speaker 2: number one, we got to figure out... Well, we don't
- 51:46Speaker 2: got to figure out shit. They got to figure out
- 51:49Speaker 2: all that stuff, because, I mean... In the history of
- 51:52Speaker 2: most things, a lot of these online card games have
- 51:56Speaker 2: just failed miserably.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's because they've been online only.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 52:03Speaker 4: And I think that's why it's critical for them to
- 52:06Speaker 4: get this reasonably correct in keeping actual Key Forge a thing.
- 52:16Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. I can't remember. I mean, Pokemon
- 52:18Speaker 2: Online isn't played. I mean, I haven't played it in
- 52:20Speaker 2: a while. Yu-Gi-Oh! Online is pretty much dead, as far
- 52:24Speaker 2: as I understand. Arena is still a thing, but that's
- 52:27Speaker 2: because they do all sorts of wacky shit.
- 52:33Speaker 4: Hearthstone, right?
- 52:34Speaker 2: Hearthstone is still around, but I don't think it's anywhere
- 52:38Speaker 2: near as big as it used to be.
- 52:39Speaker 4: It's still pretty big.
- 52:42Speaker 2: It was Marvel Snap. That's the whole thing, right? Is
- 52:44Speaker 2: that even a card game? Who knows? But they do exist.
- 52:49Speaker 4: This is the thing. Like, again, you're like, it's not huge.
- 52:52Speaker 4: It's not 900 million players at the same time. That
- 52:56Speaker 4: doesn't need to exist for it to be a successful platform.
- 52:59Speaker 4: All it's got to do is make enough to pay
- 53:02Speaker 4: all the bills, which in theory is paying people's wages
- 53:05Speaker 4: as well. That's just part of the bills. And it's
- 53:07Speaker 4: doing fine. It doesn't have to make somebody... Damage sheep?
- 53:11Speaker 4: Does that mean we're all failures? Yes, we are.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Well, yes.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I mean, the show pays for itself. It just doesn't
- 53:20Speaker 2: pay us all salary. Wages.
- 53:23Speaker 5: I'm looking for DraftScore. I'm losing money on DraftScore. There
- 53:31Speaker 5: you go. We need to bump up. You and I still.
- 53:35Speaker 5: I think we've said this before.
- 53:37Speaker 4: We've got to do Patreon, yada yada, so we can
- 53:41Speaker 4: bump up some DraftScore. You need to get in on
- 53:44Speaker 4: the ground and get DraftScore integrated in the back end
- 53:46Speaker 4: of KFO.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:48Speaker 2: You know. Open up a deck that automatically shows you
- 53:53Speaker 2: your draft score. This deck is 13.
- 53:56Speaker 5: I might actually have to integrate with a master vault then.
- 53:59Speaker 5: I've tried that before and it like broke everything and
- 54:02Speaker 5: I was like, no, and I had to go back
- 54:03Speaker 5: and like fix some data. It was like really annoying.
- 54:07Speaker 5: And yeah, so I just piggyback on all the DOK APIs.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Because they're super easy to use and readable and.
- 54:16Speaker 4: Well, Nova's already over there posting, so she's already taken
- 54:19Speaker 4: all your thunder.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine. That's fine. A dollar short. Get in
- 54:24Speaker 2: on that. Whatever. Does Nova even play anymore, or just...
- 54:29Speaker 2: No idea. Maintain decks at Keyforge. And Sass.
- 54:35Speaker 5: On occasion, I've seen Nova online, but it's definitely much
- 54:41Speaker 5: more cash at this point.
- 54:43Speaker 2: We're going to do our two-dunk cardins check. yep there
- 54:49Speaker 2: he is still playing himself in beginner there you go
- 54:51Speaker 2: savage yeah i mean like.
- 54:53Speaker 4: I i in some ways i think doing the game
- 54:58Speaker 4: found is not a bad plan right because saying like
- 55:01Speaker 4: hey we need this much interest and this much money
- 55:04Speaker 4: to know this is worth us putting more time in
- 55:06Speaker 4: versus that putting in a bunch of time and then
- 55:08Speaker 4: being like oh there really wasn't any money and like.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Yeah they don't make money back yeah like this is
- 55:13Speaker 5: this could be a full-time job for a.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Could be a part-time job. It's part-time.
- 55:19Speaker 4: I mean, how many of these little crummy mobile games
- 55:24Speaker 4: are full-time jobs for people? And they're trash when you
- 55:27Speaker 4: look at what they really are. Yeah. I mean, like,
- 55:31Speaker 4: as far as, like, actual effort put into them, it
- 55:34Speaker 4: feels like.
- 55:35Speaker 2: You don't talk bad about my street surfer. I don't
- 55:40Speaker 2: know if I know that one. Everybody knows street surf.
- 55:45Speaker 2: I'm sure it sucks.
- 55:47Speaker 4: Now street surfer is like totally dead and hardly has
- 55:50Speaker 4: anybody at.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Least that's what I mean it's all over tiktok.
- 55:54Speaker 4: I don't know man I'm just making shit up like
- 55:56Speaker 4: you I do make things up that we do yeah
- 56:05Speaker 4: alright well it's been an hour boys it's been fun
- 56:08Speaker 4: I have a question you have a question what should
- 56:12Speaker 4: they set.
- 56:15Speaker 5: The goal to or what do you think they're going
- 56:18Speaker 5: to set the goal to and what what do i
- 56:19Speaker 5: stretch award should they generate okay.
- 56:22Speaker 2: So number one for the i'm gonna resort to what
- 56:27Speaker 2: would it cost to basically i guess break even on
- 56:32Speaker 2: on the ground to now or you know from from
- 56:35Speaker 2: here to go to.
- 56:37Speaker 4: I wonder how much of that preview stuff is real
- 56:42Speaker 4: stuff and how much of it is just like let's
- 56:45Speaker 4: make some pretty graphics and there's no actual thing going on. Hmm.
- 56:51Speaker 2: That's not, that's probably in general. But what, what would
- 56:56Speaker 2: it cost? Like just a ballpark figure, be a little conservative.
- 57:01Speaker 5: Well, I mean, like I said, depends on, depends on
- 57:03Speaker 5: how for serious you're going to, you're going to try
- 57:05Speaker 5: to do this thing, right?
- 57:06Speaker 2: You can try to do it on a cheap, you
- 57:07Speaker 2: try to do it halfway serious. I mean, not too cheap,
- 57:11Speaker 2: not too expensive.
- 57:12Speaker 5: Like just kind of, You should pay yourself as a
- 57:18Speaker 5: senior engineer.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Oh, and you should make, uh, you should make, you should.
- 57:25Speaker 5: Target making good money. And then if you're like really passionate,
- 57:28Speaker 5: you can back off of it. You should, you should
- 57:30Speaker 5: target paying yourself full time for a.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Year, $ 200, 000. Um, and right.
- 57:38Speaker 4: Well, but here's the thing you do have to take
- 57:41Speaker 4: into account. the country the work is being performed in.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Sure.
- 57:46Speaker 2: So you can back off. All right.
- 57:47Speaker 5: So if it's in Vietnam, you can cut that back
- 57:49Speaker 5: by a bit, right? And so it's, you know, like
- 57:54Speaker 5: a billion dong. So it's like 75 cents, right? And
- 58:01Speaker 5: that is a currency, by the way. Vietnamese dong, 100,000
- 58:02Speaker 5: dong is about 380 when we were there. $ 3.
- 58:04Speaker 2: 80, not 380.
- 58:04Speaker 1: $ 3.
- 58:04Speaker 3: 80.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Basically, 25K is a buck.
- 58:13Speaker 4: That was the easy way to figure it out.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yeah, there's that. So the. So, yeah, if.
- 58:22Speaker 5: It was in the US, you'd pay yourself something like that. Remember,
- 58:26Speaker 5: if you're if you're full time, you pay your own
- 58:28Speaker 5: medical insurance and all that.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Right. And then there's if you're going to have more developers.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 58:35Speaker 5: You got to pay them now part time, full time. Then,
- 58:39Speaker 5: so with Steam, I guess you're not hosting the software,
- 58:43Speaker 5: but you have to have your development platform.
- 58:46Speaker 2: You got to have all that. So I guess.
- 58:49Speaker 5: You got to have a lot of hardware. You got
- 58:52Speaker 5: to have some hardware, right? Now maybe use your existing system.
- 58:55Speaker 5: Maybe you're okay using just free GitHub, right? If you
- 58:59Speaker 5: don't have a lot of contributors or whatever, but maybe
- 59:01Speaker 5: you want to go more serious.
- 59:05Speaker 2: And then.
- 59:06Speaker 5: If it's Steam and it's all running on the user's hardware,
- 59:09Speaker 5: you don't have to actually deploy into the cloud or
- 59:12Speaker 5: anything you actually save some money there steam's gonna take
- 59:14Speaker 5: a cut of some sort right.
- 59:16Speaker 2: This is the longest explanation just give me a dollar
- 59:18Speaker 2: amount 500 000 okay so that is that's like serious
- 59:24Speaker 2: like seriously 500 000 you could.
- 59:28Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, maybe if it's in Vietnam, maybe maybe
- 59:30Speaker 5: you can cut that back to 250, 200. I've seen.
- 59:35Speaker 4: Several Steam games. The independent stuff there. You know, one
- 59:44Speaker 4: one developer. A year of his not real work to do.
- 59:51Speaker 5: Yeah, and you could do like you do as a
- 59:53Speaker 5: part time job and you could do it for a
- 59:55Speaker 5: lot less, right? Just the supplemental income. but it'll take
- 59:58Speaker 5: a lot longer.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Well, all right. So we're going to need a lot
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: more followers. Because I feel.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Like there's a significant difference for this versus building a game,
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: like building any other kind of video game. They are
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: not actually creating any rules or having to worry about
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: game balance or anything like that. They're just having to
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: implement rules as already written.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Which can have its own difficulty.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: Sure, absolutely.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: Every good software engineer knows that 80% of the cost
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: comes from some ridiculous business requirement that you're like, could
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: you just change it ever so slightly?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: But instead, it's like super hard to implement because like, no,
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: it needs to work this way. Right.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: But I'm saying like, so there is like this whole
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: level of development in that regard, whereas... You know, this
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: is it's a little more like you're already just like
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: solving this problem and you're not having to do as
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: much creative development work. So, you know.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I don't know. There's definitely art assets you got to
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: pay for.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Well, it's already done, right? Well, the cards, but all
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: the other stuff, right?
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: That was that was also my guess that I put
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: on line the other day was 300 to 600 would
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: be the.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Number three to six.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: I just put it I just put it in in
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: in dong seven point five to 15 million or billion
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: seven and a half to 15 billion dong.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: So I think that you are looking at between I'm
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: going to go ahead and say the 300.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: I think 300,000 is the appropriate amount. But here's the thing.
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: I think if this is a business venture, you have
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: to understand that you're going to potentially have to start
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: with a lower amount, especially with our recent game found.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: It's just not realistic with this community right now.
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: So I think that it's going to be closer to
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: what we saw kind of with game found for Key Forge.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: And here's 50 or 75,000. Don't do that.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: But here's the thing.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: It's a business venture, so you're going to have to
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: take out a loan for the difference to be able
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: to get there. But that's the reality of the situation,
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: that if you believe in a company as an entrepreneur,
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: you're going to have to push for it. I can
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: tell you if you set for a half million dollars,
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: I don't think that we hit it. Mm-mm.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: I don't, I mean, so I don't know how they, again,
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know how they structure this game
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: found to get the money out of people. Cause it's
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: like you roll in and you're like, you're, I mean like,
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: cause I, you know, it's like what you're getting a
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: special edition version, right? Like that's what the game. Yeah.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: How do you get the $ 2, 000 pledges?
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: Or you get a little extra content, right? Like, that's
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: how video game stuff, you get some extra content, you
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: get an extra gear, you.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Well, I mean, at $ 1, 000 you get some music separately,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: you get a picture book separately, they do some stuff
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: like that. At $ 1, 000 you get, you know, you get
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: a special deck, $ 2, 000 CTP will give you a handy.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I mean, they could definitely put in custom name decks. Like,
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: then they're... I mean, it's... I mean, like, but then they're, again, like,
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: they can sell Keyforge stuff, but that's really selling GG stuff. Like,
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: how are they selling, how do they sell their platform?
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: I don't, and I'm not the person to make these decisions, because,
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: you know, obviously I have nothing to do with software,
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: and I'm a dummy, but I don't see it. Like,
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: how do they get more than 50 bucks out of me?
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, they have to come up with something, right? What's...
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: What are the stretch goals?
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: I'm not a person who's going to pay a bunch
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: of money to have a special avatar. That's going to
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: be a big thing. It's like, oh, you can have
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: a custom avatar. Pay a bunch of money and.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you what, just coming from someone
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: who's tried to get anything out of the Keyforge community,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: the Keyforge community, if you're not getting Keyforge items, is
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: incredibly stingy.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: I think that's as true as you do. I think
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: because this has got a fully official GG stamp on
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: its back that they will do fine. Luxury Playstyle did
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: fine for a while when there were players.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: I don't think their main shit was in GG though.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: But I don't think their main... They're still around. They
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: didn't go anywhere. But their main products weren't keyforge products
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: there are magic products.
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: But i'm saying they sold a bunch of keyforge products.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: I i don't know how i think they might have
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: given more away than they actually sold.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: No they didn't give that many away okay okay but anyways.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: I i think i never got into it and my
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: problem with uh tokens will be covered on another episode so.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: I think there is, like, the number of people who
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: paid to have their art in this game. Yeah. I think...
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: You could then become a special avatar? Right, like, they
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: can avatar or, you know, like, what? You get to
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: create the avatar for the AI, like, top level, like,
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: so everybody has to see your goofy thing all the time.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I just.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: I don't know what it is.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: You select the part that's Joan. I don't know.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm not a person who has... ever bought into
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: the microtransaction cosmetic world. Right. So I, and that's, that's
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: an interesting place with, I don't know. I don't know
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: if the dad market is a big microtransaction. It's community
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: or not. It's not for me. I know it's more
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: of my kids age stuff, right? Younger generation. They're better
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: for spending that kind of money on dumb stuff. It's
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: just not something that ever did it to me. And
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: that is a common way to monetize, uh, digital stuff.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: $ 2, 000, all your decks. Digital decks are foil for life.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: I guess you could do special cosmetic things.
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: That sounds like it would annoy me and I'd have
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: to turn it off.
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: I probably would. But it'd be too late because you
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: would have already bought it. Yeah, you'd have to create
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: a new account. I broke my original account but I
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: paid for it to be shiny.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Chief Burner Account 2.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Well, alright.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: That's stuff people are already talking about, and that's a
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: big thing where TCO ends up having its thing is,
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: is this going to be strictly linked.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: To Master Vault?
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: Your Master Vault, which means you can only play your
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: decks and potentially your friends' decks. See how that goes. Oh.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: But, like, you definitely, like, the whole way that ABR, well,
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: the whole way ABR goes is just a mess, right? Like,
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: you know, sharing decks all the time or testing other decks, like,
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: that might be the TCO niche, which, you know, which
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: means even less games getting played over there. But there's, like,
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: that whole kind of thing going on. It'd be interesting
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: to see how they go with all that.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: I mean, if the point is to sell decks and
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: promote real Key Forge play, then that's it. You play
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: your decks.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: I mean, you know, when a certain number of matches
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: at your local and get a free digital deck, I.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Don't know, you know, theory they could do all that.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: I mean, I saw man talk about like, They can
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: definitely tie this in, right? Like, you know, box toppers
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: and whatnot. Like, once you buy the physical box, like,
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: you can get a free digital, you know, KFO deck,
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: stuff like that. Like, there's definitely easy ways to tie
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: it in.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Every deck you open is already a digital deck.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Right, but then now you get the 13th.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: Both a physical and a digital.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: It's like the 37th card. Now you get a 13th deck.
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: Sure. I mean, it is, in theory, like... much easier
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: to sell a little computing power than the actual whole
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: printing process.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: So, each deck you now open is just a QR
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: code that you scan in to your computer.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, that's how Pokemon worked, right? Like, you'd
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: get a QR code that then was just.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: A digital pack. Yeah, you got a digital pack.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: With the pack you opened.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: I don't know. It's interesting. My spidey senses are tingling
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: and I think shenanigans are afoot. Why do you say that?
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: I don't think there's shenanigans.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: I don't think the people involved are the shenanigans. I
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: think this is a long-term goal by StrangeStars slash Gigi.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: I think there's a long con by Gigi slash StrangeStars
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: I'm just going to call them strange stars now because
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: there's so, there's so many little ancillary companies that are
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: just a part of the strange stars umbrella, right?
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: It's art. You gotta keep it. It's a game center.
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: And then there's Fernando. Like he's his own little entity
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: over here.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: And then there's like the software company. And then like
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: the printer is its actual own company. And then the,
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: the machine that makes them.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Extrudes the, The little plastic circles, that's its own company.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Jeremy is literally his own company, right? But he is
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: separate from Jeremy, too, which is a part of this company. Yeah,
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: other Jeremy.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: Is other Jeremy getting fired with how Oak is a
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: moment going?
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I don't know if he's part of Echoes of Oak.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Hang in there. He didn't say what he was part of.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Hang in there. He just said that he didn't like
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Key Forge. It wasn't for him. I think he joined
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: the wrong company, bro. You know, and then there's Like,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: there's just so many different companies under the Strange Stars umbrella. Like,
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I just personally, I don't like CTP. Well, you have to.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: I just feel shady. Right. Like, I don't. Whenever I
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: hear him trying to do anything, I'm like, how are
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: you trying to fuck me?
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: Look, you just have to have all these companies so
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: you can, you know, mask the source of the money
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: by passing it through these intermediaries.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: Right. Yeah. Nothing illegal there. No, but that sounds fine
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: to me.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: I mean, you're you're in the US, man. Like, all
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: I got to do is show a loss and I
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: have to pay no taxes for our money.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: No, I get it. I get it. Don't worry, I
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: brought my lube. I know the shenanigans, right? I brought
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: it with me. Just at least hold me when I
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: start to cry. That's all I ask for, but most
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: people don't. I'll do that for you. Thank you, I
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: appreciate it. We'll do you a solid. Yeah. Thank you.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, bud.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: That's all I ask for.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: Just.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: I just, like, I get the heebie-jeebies, and it has
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: nothing to do with Dead Sync, and it has nothing
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: to do with Riku.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: I'm... Whenever they're like, we're in a new venture, and
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: I'm like, ah, fuck. You don't have the first venture
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: fucking figured out, and you're on a new one? This
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: is like doing a side quest.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: That's how you get good ventures.
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: They've got this venture figured out. It's you guys who
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: keep thinking they should be doing something different.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: No, they don't have their original venture figured out. No,
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: they don't. The Yellow King's taking all the risk. Really?
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Because they keep.
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: Getting the exact same thing and it's continuing to make
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: very similar amounts of money. It feels like they got
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: it pretty figured out.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: Except this year where they made significantly less.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Not significantly less.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: That's pretty significant. A little bit. A little bit less.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: But they also put a lot less effort in. Yeah, right?
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: So maybe their return is even better.
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: They don't have to pay Josh to write articles anymore, so,
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: you know. They don't have to pay anybody to respond
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: to my request to add artwork to Artforge so I
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: can pay them money.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: I want you to bring it up at KFC, which
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: by the way has now become the PV Double Down.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Raise my hand.
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Why won't you let me spend money to buy a
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: mat with all my Keyforge friends on it?
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: Louis Campierre. Do we talk about that?
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: Apparently they keep asking for the redacted mat and it's
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: not getting made either.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: Well, that one, I wonder if that art is like
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: not available in high def or something.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: Uh, but any who's. Yeah. Forever.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: The, uh, um, but you talking about like the, the
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: two chicken patties, like fried chicken patties, make it a sandwich.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Is that what you're talking about? There was ham in
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: the middle. Yeah.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: It was, it was two fried chicken patties with ham
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: and Swiss in the middle. No bun. The bun was
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: the chicken. Yeah, man. Hell yeah. It was the worst
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: thing ever, and I ordered two. I ordered one, and
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: I was like, oh, that was terrible. So I got
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: another one like a week later. And I was like,
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: oh yeah, still bad. Fuck, I don't remember. I didn't
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: even get to finish my analogy, but that's okay. We'll
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: do it all later. But, alright.
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: Where do we want to wrap this thing up? I
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: think we're all excited. I think we're excited for something new.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Right? We're ready for shiny new toys. We'll just play
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: it by ear.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: It's two years away. It could only be as little
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: as 15 months away. True. But their Discord has pulled
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: out several has-beens in the Keyforge world.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: We don't call them that here. We call them old friends.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Once was. That's so nice. Now back to Hespens.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: Yeah, Hespens. That are back and interested. There is money
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: available for this that has not been available for more
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: physical product. Is there a lot of it?
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: They get to find out.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: There are some names in here I have not seen.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: In a long time.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Like a long time.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: Let's wrap this up. All right.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Mr. Ewok, what do you got, my boy? I'm excited.
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: I'm glad to see that some of our amazing community
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: organizers are part of this venture, and I look forward
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: to hearing more about it at KFC.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Draft score.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm pumped. I'm ready for this. That was not
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: what I was looking for, but okay. Oh, what do
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: you need? You're just like, yeah, and that was kind
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: of the end of it.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Are we forging? No, we're not quite there yet, but
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: it's okay. What's going on?
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: I'm excited. I just very much hope that it's a
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: real business plan and not a Keyforge community stepping up
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: to to cover again. Like, ah, I, I hate, I
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: got bad news for you. And I hope it fails
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: and they go, yeah.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: Like I know that the.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: Community has, yeah, we've talked about it. I do not
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: believe the community should continue to support Gigi. Like it,
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: if the money's there, absolutely.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:16:45Speaker 6: Well, then maybe this is the stepping stone where we
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: as the community get a chance to be able to
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: take the algorithm and be able to move on from GG.
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: Because honestly, our community is amazing. And there are many games,
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: Star Wars minis that I was a part of. It
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: has been run through Blue Milk and through others that
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: have been there.
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: You want to make even more fun about dead games.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: I mean, there are a bunch of community-ran games now.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: BattleTech being one of them as well.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Star Wars, old Star Wars.
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: Battle tech has an online component that has been run
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: for years and years and years.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: Oh, years and years and years.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: I think, uh, as talking to Mr.
- 1:17:26Speaker 6: Helmke today, I believe that he said is at least
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: 25 years that it has been essentially our TCO. So again,
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: TCO did a wonderful job running. I, I think that's, uh,
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: I'm excited to see where this goes. And if it
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: means that we have access for the future, with digital
- 1:17:43Speaker 6: decks and to keep this game going.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: Great. Awesome.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Uh, yeah, that's going to do it for us this week. Uh,
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: you guys are going to get a double dose. I
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: actually won't know you're going to get a double dose because, uh,
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: you'll get the first episode after I've deleted some things
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: and then you'll get this episode. So then you'll know
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: you got the double dose.
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: Huh? We've made too much trash.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we made too much trash.
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: I think our trash can is full.
- 1:18:11Speaker 6: I think that you should have just gone ahead and
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: trolled everyone and just re-released episode one and two again.
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: We've hit the end.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: We're cycling. Now we got to roll back around. But
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: that'll do it for us this week. We will see
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: you all next week. Be forging, everyone.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: May the forge be with you. Thank you, Yellow King.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: You guys are doing great work.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: Yay!
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: I never conquered when it came to love.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: We'll hold such better days.
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: Days when I.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: Can still feel alive. When I can't wait to get outside.
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: The world is mine.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: The time is mine.
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: The tour is over.
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: I survived.
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: I can't wait till I get home.
