- 1:33Speaker 2: hit it and you hit it again, it takes away
- 1:35Speaker 2: your like.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that's that's usually how that happens.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I have to now watch it and look to make
- 1:41Speaker 2: sure I'm not taking away my like because when I
- 1:44Speaker 2: was doing the drugs thing, not the bad drugs, but
- 1:49Speaker 2: the kidney stone drugs, I noticed one day I did
- 1:54Speaker 2: it and then the stream ended and I was like, oh, no,
- 1:56Speaker 2: can I go.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Back and do it? Oh? Yes, they are what I
- 2:00Speaker 1: got my blue. Oh. I feel like a new woman.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I have makeup on.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I even did my hair. We only did the front
- 2:07Speaker 2: of my hair. I didn't do the back.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Maybe we should do the intro to the show real
- 2:14Speaker 1: quick and then we can do Wait a minute, we
- 2:17Speaker 1: have an intro. Well, yeah, well we're what we're supposed
- 2:21Speaker 1: to say. I know you've been going for a few days,
- 2:24Speaker 1: but you haven't been gone like that long. You're right.

- 3:22Speaker 1: why I'm wearing my cruise scarf. I do have a
- 3:25Speaker 1: blue and white straped tink top, but you can barely
- 3:27Speaker 1: see it. But I'm ready for the seas. What are
- 3:29Speaker 1: you wearing, Terry? No, really, we don't do this, but
- 3:32Speaker 1: we did come dressed with the theme I did.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I bought the cute little dress that I had bought
- 3:37Speaker 2: to wearing Monaco when I went there last October, and
- 3:40Speaker 2: I didn't get to wear it to the casino, so

- 7:32Speaker 2: we can set up.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yes, I'm so excited about it. Now as to what
- 7:38Speaker 1: we're drinking tonight, as you can see, my tongue is
- 7:40Speaker 1: already blue. So all I had in the fridge because
- 7:46Speaker 1: we're going to be out of town the next couple
- 7:48Speaker 1: of days, so we didn't bother to really pick anything up.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So what I had in my fridge though, it's still
- 7:54Speaker 1: this Gloria Rocket Pop margarita mix and some tequila. It's
- 8:02Speaker 1: not good. It's not good. I don't like it. I
- 8:05Speaker 1: don't love it. But you're drinking it. Well, it's not horrible. Okay,
- 8:09Speaker 1: you know, but it's not it's not great.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Okay, So you're not doing an endorsement to run out
- 8:14Speaker 2: and buy it.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I mean you're saying not bad. Now.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Is Rocket Pop like those red popsicles? Yes, hence the
- 8:24Speaker 2: I don't like those popsicles?
- 8:26Speaker 1: Yeah, seem Yeah, it's it's just a little too too
- 8:31Speaker 1: much for me. Not a fan of that compare normally.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'm a mango girl. Can't your tongue blue, which is
- 8:37Speaker 1: not great when you're live, say on camera? Yeah, but
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's all I got. So well, it's out of a
- 8:45Speaker 1: decision as lanakan Conte is makes. So I'm fine, No,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's not no.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Now, I'm going to just warn y'all ahead of time. Okay,
- 8:53Speaker 2: I am drinking. I have a bottle line and yes,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I've already gotten into it because I feel better today
- 8:59Speaker 2: that I have in weeks. But I didn't get a
- 9:03Speaker 2: bottle of wine from Italy. I did France, and guys,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I had to call my older son, Jeffa to learn
- 9:10Speaker 2: how to pronounce this. So guys, just bear with me. Okay,
- 9:14Speaker 2: he sent me the pronunciation. So let's see how I
- 9:18Speaker 2: do tonight. I am drinking Chateau Logrdon and it is
- 9:25Speaker 2: from the coat quote do profits. And it is a
- 9:29Speaker 2: rose okay, So it says it delivers an elegant and
- 9:33Speaker 2: refined profile with bright citrus flavors and delicate notes of
- 9:38Speaker 2: red fruit. And that I'm a Texas guirrel. And I
- 9:41Speaker 2: don't speak French.
- 9:43Speaker 1: That is it. I mean, you did very well. I'm
- 9:45Speaker 1: very proud of you. It tastes really good.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It's going to be one of those that's a little
- 9:49Speaker 2: too easy to drink. Oh, I mean, look, and I
- 9:54Speaker 2: just opened it.
- 9:56Speaker 1: A little too easy, huh.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I haven't looked to see what APV is because you're
- 10:02Speaker 2: drinking tequila, well, tequila and margarita mixed with tequila in it,
- 10:07Speaker 2: so it's pretty strong.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Oh, it's not bad. It's only thirteen point five. Oh,
- 10:15Speaker 1: that's what my margarita is. So it's not bad, it's down,
- 10:19Speaker 1: You'll be fine, It's all good.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Now I have to say, are you really ready for
- 10:25Speaker 2: tonight's case?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Because this guy I don't like? Lonnie?
- 10:30Speaker 2: I've only known one Lonnie in my life that I like,
- 10:34Speaker 2: and it's not this guy.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I don't like. I've ever met anybody named Lannie. No.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I knew someone had a dad named Lonnie, but I
- 10:41Speaker 1: didn't really know him. So I have no judgments on
- 10:45Speaker 1: the Lonnie's out there. This Lonnie's not great. He's not great,
- 10:49Speaker 1: but I don't know if he stands for all Lonnies.
- 10:51Speaker 2: He's not, no, because I know a good Lonnie. So
- 10:54Speaker 2: let me tell you a little bit about mister Lonnie.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yes, please do okay?
- 10:59Speaker 2: And I know his name is something like cos I'm
- 11:03Speaker 2: going to just call him Lonnie Dick.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I hope everybody's okay. I don't think he deserves for
- 11:09Speaker 2: me to pronounce his name correct him. I mean that mustache,
- 11:17Speaker 2: that mustache, Okay.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I don't think anybody's going to be a fan of
- 11:21Speaker 1: him by the time we're done.
- 11:22Speaker 2: So' And I'm just gonna say, I somehow am noticing
- 11:26Speaker 2: in my notes. Somebody added the thing that I kept removing,
- 11:29Speaker 2: and I'm going to play captain for this. No, no,
- 11:32Speaker 2: thank you, okay, So Mith Tarra or excuse me, miss
- 11:38Speaker 2: Lammit is determined that I tell y'all this piece of
- 11:42Speaker 2: shit graduated from law school at University of Texas, Austin
- 11:47Speaker 2: with honors. Do not judge just Texas or Austin people.
- 11:51Speaker 2: This guy is not from here. He just went to
- 11:54Speaker 2: school here.
- 11:55Speaker 1: M Okay, okay when I say it's not wasn't living here, okay.
- 12:02Speaker 2: But he did become a successful but very deeply secretive
- 12:07Speaker 2: attorney whose polish exterior can sealed a very dark and
- 12:13Speaker 2: calculating nature. But he's literally a pls now. He was
- 12:18Speaker 2: known for his intelligence and his work ethic. I mean, guys,
- 12:21Speaker 2: he was a work course. He once held the respect
- 12:25Speaker 2: of colleagues and friends alike, but guys, behind closed doors,
- 12:30Speaker 2: he manipulated relationships for personal gain. It's especially with females
- 12:37Speaker 2: in my opinion. Now, Lonnie met Susan, who was a
- 12:42Speaker 2: PI for the law firm Lonnie worked at, and she
- 12:46Speaker 2: admired his dedication to his clients. The two became good friends.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Susan then met Bill Price, a retired DC copp turned PI. Bill,
- 12:57Speaker 2: if you're somehow watching this or see this, call me,
- 13:00Speaker 2: I would love to chat with you.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I have. That's true, so many questions for I have
- 13:04Speaker 1: so many questions, both of them. Let's come on.
- 13:11Speaker 2: So, now the two became partners in an investigation firm,
- 13:16Speaker 2: but they also became a loving couple. Okay, and Bill
- 13:21Speaker 2: like Susan, respected Lonnie and the two would become like brothers. Now,
- 13:27Speaker 2: a little side goog that I did on these two.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Did you know she trains dogs for the official dog show.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I think it's called Westminster or something like that. Oh really,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and he helped set them up and organize them.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I did not know that.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And she's a doctor, so that well. She they're really
- 13:50Speaker 2: good people.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I mean, look at those dogs, like how durable they are.
- 13:55Speaker 2: But they were like brothers. I mean they had a
- 13:58Speaker 2: bromance going on.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I love that. Well. So Lannie then became interested in
- 14:04Speaker 1: Mickey Kanisake, a beautiful paralegal at his office. And yet
- 14:09Speaker 1: she is stunning. Mickey is stuck gorgeous way out of
- 14:15Speaker 1: mustache Man's league.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Oh he definitely got lucky.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Well. After working closely together, their professional relationship became a
- 14:26Speaker 1: personal relationship. Like a lot of relationships, it was complicated,
- 14:31Speaker 1: but it was also marked by affection, ambition, and a
- 14:35Speaker 1: growing tension behind closed doors. So early on they seemed
- 14:41Speaker 1: to compliment each other well. Mickey was reserved and graceful
- 14:46Speaker 1: and deeply dependable, while Lannie was charismatic, assertive, and career driven.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Together they made a sharp professional couple. They married in
- 14:57Speaker 1: nineteen ninety five, but in a few years time the
- 15:00Speaker 1: cracks began to show. Friends and colleagues later recalled that
- 15:04Speaker 1: Mickey often seemed to walk on eggshells around Lonnie. He
- 15:08Speaker 1: was known to be controlling, particularly when it came to
- 15:11Speaker 1: finances and major decisions. Mickey, ever composed and non confrontational,
- 15:17Speaker 1: often kept her frustrations private, even from close friends. Now
- 15:23Speaker 1: this is not in our notes, but I kicked your
- 15:29Speaker 1: cut forage.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I have to tell all of the women out there
- 15:33Speaker 2: because I had a bestie who was in a situation
- 15:37Speaker 2: with a man like this who controlled the finances.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Guys, that is not okay. No, it's never good. It
- 15:44Speaker 1: is not okay.
- 15:45Speaker 2: So I just needed to say that because that bothers me.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You can agree to share your finances, but when somebody's like, no,
- 15:56Speaker 1: not good.
- 15:56Speaker 2: You can agree to have a budget, but when someone
- 15:59Speaker 2: you just three hundred dollars playing golf and she says, hey,
- 16:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna go get my nails done for twenty five dollars,
- 16:05Speaker 2: you can't tell her no, she doesn't.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Deserve it, right, No, I agree.
- 16:12Speaker 2: So I just needed to say that because that bothers me.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Okay. Now.
- 16:16Speaker 2: In nineteen ninety nine, Lonnie was faced with a legal
- 16:19Speaker 2: crisis of his own, okay, and it cast a long
- 16:22Speaker 2: shadow over both his career and his personal life. Okay,
- 16:27Speaker 2: Lonnie was accused of having a sexual relationship with the
- 16:32Speaker 2: underage daughter of one of his legal clients.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Okay, not great, not great. Now.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Allegation was explosive, not just because of its nature, okay,
- 16:43Speaker 2: but because it struck at the heart of his professional integrity.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And I mean, you think of an attorney, they shouldn't
- 16:51Speaker 2: be doing that, right, yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Now.
- 16:53Speaker 2: He adamantly denied the claim, insisting that the accusations were
- 16:58Speaker 2: false and politically motivated. Nonetheless, the fallout was swift. Lottie
- 17:04Speaker 2: was fired from the prestigious law firm where both he
- 17:08Speaker 2: and Mickey worked.
- 17:11Speaker 1: There was this nineteen ninety nine oh boy, okay.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I mean I didn't know cancel culture started way back then.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Well, wasn't this wouldn't this be like the time of
- 17:21Speaker 1: like the Bill Clinton, Michael Lewinsky stuff. Maybe no, that
- 17:26Speaker 1: was ninety seven. Maybe I was like, I don't know.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety nine is a year I really try to forget. Oh,
- 17:35Speaker 1: you didn't party like it was nineteen ninety nine, And no,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I mean I was fourteen.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Disastrous has been number two in January of nineteen ninety nine.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So it was a bad year. Bad year, okay. Through
- 17:47Speaker 1: Throughout the ordeal, Mickey stood by Lonnie's side, reportedly believing
- 17:52Speaker 1: in his innocence or at the very least wanting to
- 17:56Speaker 1: protect what they had built together to protect their asset
- 18:00Speaker 1: during the fallout, though, Lonnie and Mickey divorced on paper,
- 18:04Speaker 1: but continued living and operating like a married couple in
- 18:09Speaker 1: many respects. They maintained co ownership of their homes, spent
- 18:13Speaker 1: holidays and weekends together, and traveled occasionally, leading many in
- 18:19Speaker 1: their lives to believe they were reconciliating, reconciling. I've read
- 18:25Speaker 1: so many words today, you guys still reconciling? All right?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Lonnie did rent an apartment in downtown LA, near his office,
- 18:34Speaker 1: but still spent a lot of time at the home
- 18:37Speaker 1: he owned with Mickey. Mickey in particular, seemed hopeful that
- 18:42Speaker 1: the worst was behind them and that they could rebuild.
- 18:46Speaker 1: She spoke with excitement about their upcoming crews, seeing it
- 18:50Speaker 1: as a fresh start. Tragically, she didn't know that Lonnie
- 18:55Speaker 1: was still entangled with another woman, or that is that
- 19:00Speaker 1: his vision for their new beginning have far more sinister
- 19:04Speaker 1: end now, I don't know. Oh, could you put that
- 19:09Speaker 1: picture back up? A miss?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Guys, I have to tell you I had to go
- 19:14Speaker 2: down a rabbit hole when I saw how much this
- 19:17Speaker 2: house cost.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Oh boy, well it is California.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I know, but I was like, that is like what
- 19:24Speaker 2: it was like when we lived in Brentway, California. You
- 19:27Speaker 2: could literally your neighbors next door in that window. Our
- 19:30Speaker 2: neighbors were Patty. Patty would call and say, hey you okay, No,
- 19:34Speaker 2: we're having sex.
- 19:35Speaker 1: But thinks that.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Is how close the houses are because you can't afford
- 19:41Speaker 2: land a million and.
- 19:43Speaker 1: A half dollars. Wow, Wow, he's crazy. I don't so now.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Lonnie sought out help from his close friends Bill and
- 19:54Speaker 2: Susan to fight, the legal charges from the accused sexual
- 19:57Speaker 2: relationship with the minor began an investigation into the accusations.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Guys, they were.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Able to prove that Lonnie was nowhere near where the
- 20:08Speaker 2: miner said the assault happened. All charges were eventually dropped.
- 20:13Speaker 2: And that's why I called it canceled culture. I saw
- 20:16Speaker 2: someone in the chat said, no, that's consequences.
- 20:19Speaker 1: He didn't actually do that.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Okay, So everyone's innocence until proven guilty. And I think
- 20:30Speaker 2: that's something that we fail to remember sometimes because.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Hard it derailed his career. Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 2: So now Bill Price and Lonnie shared a friendship that,
- 20:45Speaker 2: at first glamp appeared to be built on loyalty and trust.
- 20:50Speaker 2: But guys, like much of Lonnie the piece of shit,
- 20:54Speaker 2: the reality was far more complicated. The two met in California,
- 20:59Speaker 2: where they had developed a relationship. I mean, Bill Price
- 21:02Speaker 2: is a nice looking man. I'm just gonna say I
- 21:06Speaker 2: find him very attractive. But it evolved beyond casual acquaintances.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Bill was more than just a friend. He became something
- 21:14Speaker 2: of a confidante and later an instrumental figure in the
- 21:18Speaker 2: twisted saga surrounding Lonnie's criminal case. Their friendship had been
- 21:23Speaker 2: built over years, It would unfortunately be tested in courtrooms
- 21:29Speaker 2: and interrogration rooms, where prices role shifted from supportive companion
- 21:35Speaker 2: to key witness for the prosecution. Oh boy, he threw
- 21:39Speaker 2: out the bro code.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll have to see about that. Oh boy, that
- 21:45Speaker 1: is juicy to be fair.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sorry, I don't know what his age is,
- 21:49Speaker 2: but he's attractive.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Older man. Well. In the early stages of their friendship,
- 21:56Speaker 1: Bill Price seemed to admire Lonnie's sharp legal mind and
- 22:00Speaker 1: persuasive charm. Lannie had a way of drawing people into
- 22:05Speaker 1: his orbit orbit intelligent, articulate, and seemingly successful. He often
- 22:11Speaker 1: gave off the impression of someone in control. Price, who
- 22:15Speaker 1: worked as a private investigator, occasionally collaborated with Lannie on
- 22:20Speaker 1: various personal professional matters. Note to self, don't do a
- 22:25Speaker 1: three hour long stream where you read when you have
- 22:28Speaker 1: a show a couple hours later, because words are then hard.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Okay, I am sorry, is there? I need to know
- 22:38Speaker 2: what Annie is selling because then I see something about
- 22:43Speaker 2: Annie's going to New Orleans. Oh I need to know
- 22:48Speaker 2: when you're going because I might need to drive and
- 22:54Speaker 2: see you, especially if you're going to bring the cute little.
- 22:56Speaker 1: One hann He's like, Nope, that's not okay.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I was just thinking. I was like, that's I mean,
- 23:02Speaker 2: a woman who could just get birth in all of
- 23:05Speaker 2: a Suddens in New Orleans.
- 23:08Speaker 1: She's party in, but not that kind of party now.
- 23:12Speaker 1: In early two thousand and six, Lonnie appeared to be
- 23:15Speaker 1: making a concerted effort to rekindle his relationship with his
- 23:18Speaker 1: ex wife, Mickey. After four years of being legally divorced,
- 23:22Speaker 1: they had never completely ended their relationship. Lonnie told Mickey
- 23:27Speaker 1: he was ready for a fresh start, that he wanted
- 23:30Speaker 1: to work less, live more, and focus on rebuilding what
- 23:33Speaker 1: they had lost. For Mickey, who was known for her
- 23:37Speaker 1: loyalty and quiet hopefulness, it seemed like a second chance
- 23:41Speaker 1: at love. She was excited. She told her friends and
- 23:45Speaker 1: family about the surprise cruise. Lonnie had planned a romantic
- 23:49Speaker 1: getaway through the Mediterranean on a ship called the Island Escape.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Sounds romantic and magical.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I'm like, am I the only one sitting here going?
- 24:02Speaker 2: I would love for a man to plan me a
- 24:05Speaker 2: trip like that. Well, I mean I will say double
- 24:09Speaker 2: h for my birthday. When we first we weren't married, Joe,
- 24:12Speaker 2: we were just dating he planned me a trip and
- 24:14Speaker 2: only gave me hints and I had to guess where
- 24:17Speaker 2: we were going.
- 24:19Speaker 1: He printed out an.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Entire itinerary with pictures, booked everything. Oh wow, hasn't happened since,
- 24:28Speaker 2: but it was great and I have that memory and
- 24:30Speaker 2: I will never forget it.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think the more all of this story
- 24:33Speaker 1: is that you don't want them booking a cruise.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna say you don't. Not when you're reconciling, Not
- 24:42Speaker 2: when you're recon siling.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Now, At one point before the ill fated cruise, Lonnie
- 24:48Speaker 2: extended an unexpected invitation to his bill friend Bill, I
- 24:54Speaker 2: mean he don't Bill. He was planning a Mediterranean cruise,
- 24:56Speaker 2: just a short trip, he said, with his ex wife Mickey,
- 25:00Speaker 2: because he was considering rekindling their relationship. So Wannie said,
- 25:06Speaker 2: It's was meant to be a relaxing getaway and a
- 25:09Speaker 2: chance to see if the two could reignite the spark
- 25:12Speaker 2: they once had. Now in what seemed like a casual
- 25:16Speaker 2: gesture because guys, he had already booked the rooms when
- 25:20Speaker 2: he extended the invitation.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Huh, totally normal.
- 25:25Speaker 2: So he was like, it'll be fun and scene and
- 25:28Speaker 2: who better to enjoy the beauty of Italy on the
- 25:32Speaker 2: open sea than with your close friends, right.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I mean, if you invited me on a cruise, I'd
- 25:38Speaker 1: probably say yes.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I'm like I'm saying, there's only a couple of people
- 25:42Speaker 2: I would say no to.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I mean, the boat's big enough you can lose them,
- 25:49Speaker 1: So just satan and we're gonna find out you can
- 25:53Speaker 1: push them over the edge too. But as with most
- 25:57Speaker 1: things involving Lonnie, there was more going on beneath the surface.
- 26:02Speaker 1: According to Bill, the invitation didn't sit quite right at
- 26:06Speaker 1: the time. He felt it was odd that Lonnie would
- 26:09Speaker 1: want company on what was supposed to be a romantic
- 26:12Speaker 1: reconciliation voyage with his ex wife. The entire setup felt
- 26:17Speaker 1: slightly off. Why bring a third will? Why now? Bill
- 26:22Speaker 1: politely declined it first, but Lonnie persisted almost too much,
- 26:27Speaker 1: and eventually Bill agreed to the idea. But when Susan's
- 26:30Speaker 1: mom had to have emergency surgery, they canceled the trip.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I just I understand, just a side note for a second.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I know where you're going, and I'm with you. I
- 26:42Speaker 1: somebody once asked me, I think there's my therapist maybe
- 26:45Speaker 1: about going on a cruise, and she was like, oh,
- 26:47Speaker 1: Woilchie and el bofy ever go on a cruise, And
- 26:49Speaker 1: I was like, by ourselves, really, just us. I mean,
- 26:53Speaker 1: even if it's going to be romantic like that is
- 26:56Speaker 1: a long time to just be with one other person.
- 26:59Speaker 1: You know, it's not like we're gonna be romantic out
- 27:02Speaker 1: in public, like we're not sharing a room honeymoon.
- 27:06Speaker 2: I can get because I've done it, but.
- 27:11Speaker 1: You can't. I mean, you need other people.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Now, I will say on a cruise, if you haven't
- 27:16Speaker 2: done a cruise, you do meet other passengers. You become friends.
- 27:19Speaker 2: My very first cruise to Hawaii back in eighty nine,
- 27:24Speaker 2: I still keep in touch with some of the people
- 27:26Speaker 2: I met on there.
- 27:28Speaker 1: So you do meet other people. I mean I lose
- 27:31Speaker 1: elbow feet in the grocery store. He just runs off,
- 27:33Speaker 1: so I know on day one of the cruise, I'm
- 27:35Speaker 1: just gonna lose him and then I'm gonna be by
- 27:37Speaker 1: myself for the next six days until he finally comes
- 27:40Speaker 1: wondering back as we're about to die. But you will
- 27:42Speaker 1: go meet some very interesting people. But I might really
- 27:46Speaker 1: talk and meet people that's not me. I'm not you, Terry.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I'm just gonna sit there and like not talk to anybody.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I mean, I will say, if you're rekindling. What I
- 27:57Speaker 2: find so interesting about rekindling listening to the Dateline. I
- 28:02Speaker 2: listened to that episode yesterday. They were legally divorced, but
- 28:07Speaker 2: they never ended their exclusive relationship.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Okay, but I would still.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Say, even if you're having a difficult time in your
- 28:16Speaker 2: marriage or relationship, I could see wanting to take friends
- 28:20Speaker 2: because if things get dicey, you find the magic's not there,
- 28:24Speaker 2: you need somebody to talk to and somebody to get
- 28:28Speaker 2: rid of the awkwardness.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Maybe yes, I mean why not? I don't know. But
- 28:33Speaker 1: to those looking in it looked like a kind and
- 28:35Speaker 1: generous gesture. Yet family and friends were somewhat puzzled by
- 28:41Speaker 1: the cruise boat chosen.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Okay, the funny thing I have to say, and Kaptain,
- 28:48Speaker 2: I love you. She removed the comment I made about this.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I don't remember what it was, But okay, guys, remember
- 28:56Speaker 2: this guy's a multimillionaire.
- 28:58Speaker 1: He is an attorney. That's true. This is not a
- 29:03Speaker 1: luxury cruise liner. Look at that romance just rekindling everywhere?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Nothing so romance like that exactly.
- 29:11Speaker 2: So guys, let me tell you about this ship, the
- 29:13Speaker 2: Island Escape. It was built in nineteen eighty two as
- 29:16Speaker 2: a cruise ferry, so cars went on it. They put
- 29:21Speaker 2: cars to take places, okay, and then it was later
- 29:25Speaker 2: converted into a mid tier cruise ship by a joint
- 29:29Speaker 2: venture between Roal Caribbean and First Choice Holidays.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Guys.
- 29:34Speaker 2: It was not like the normal gleaming luxury boats that
- 29:37Speaker 2: Roal Caribbean was known for. The Island Escape was a
- 29:40Speaker 2: more military style and it lacked ninety percent of the
- 29:45Speaker 2: upscale amenities found on most cruise ships.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I mean, there's a buffet. I love that they included
- 29:51Speaker 1: the buffet and that there is a buffet, a buffet,
- 29:54Speaker 1: but the decor was simple.
- 29:56Speaker 2: The state rooms were very small and the ship did
- 29:58Speaker 2: not have the normal features. Now, I don't know if
- 30:02Speaker 2: y'all saw in the video the thing that I found
- 30:05Speaker 2: interesting On Real Caribbean, if there's two twin beds, if
- 30:09Speaker 2: there's a couple, they will push the beds together and
- 30:13Speaker 2: turn it into whatever that makes for a couple. This
- 30:18Speaker 2: you couldnt put the beds together. Oh you slept in
- 30:22Speaker 2: single beds? The bestiees here, hi share? Okay, look at
- 30:29Speaker 2: the dress she's wearing in that photo. I am wearing
- 30:33Speaker 2: the same dress right now.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I love that. I mean, the ship isn't it's not
- 30:39Speaker 1: that bad. It's probably affordable for many people. But he
- 30:42Speaker 1: had a lot of money. That's why.
- 30:46Speaker 2: That's why, that's why it was weird. It's not that
- 30:50Speaker 2: the ship was bad.
- 30:50Speaker 1: That is. I mean, it could do some work, but
- 30:53Speaker 1: it's it's affordable looking.
- 30:55Speaker 2: It was affordable looking. But if you're rekindling and you're romantic,
- 31:00Speaker 2: instead of paying for your friend's cabin and trying to
- 31:02Speaker 2: get them to come on, maybe be just upgrade this ship. Yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 2: say weird Now, The Island Escape was scheduled to sail
- 31:13Speaker 2: from Spain to Sicily, then onto Naples and beyond. But
- 31:18Speaker 2: but guys, just get ready, okay, just buckle up, put
- 31:21Speaker 2: on your life jacket, because behind the scenes there were
- 31:24Speaker 2: troubling signs. Like I said, Lonnie had booked two cabins
- 31:29Speaker 2: inviting their friends Bill and Susan, something prosecutors you will
- 31:33Speaker 2: find out later argued could have been part of an
- 31:37Speaker 2: alibi strategy because guys, he insisted on a room with
- 31:42Speaker 2: a balcony. And what I'm going to say about that,
- 31:46Speaker 2: if you can afford a balcony on a cruise ship.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Spend the money on the balcony and drink less. Really
- 31:54Speaker 2: the reason why if not. Some rooms don't even have
- 31:58Speaker 2: a window. That's just like a little round hole. You
- 32:02Speaker 2: literally feel like you're in your closet and you're locked
- 32:06Speaker 2: in there. If you have a balcony, even if it's
- 32:09Speaker 2: the size of an apartment balcony, you can get out
- 32:11Speaker 2: and fill the fresh air and you can be out
- 32:14Speaker 2: there on port and you come in and out. There
- 32:18Speaker 2: is our famous.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Cabin from one of our Murder Mystery parties last June,
- 32:27Speaker 1: as a matter of fact, when we had a cruise
- 32:29Speaker 1: ship the Murder Mystery party in Discord.
- 32:31Speaker 2: So that's the one thing I learned about cruises since
- 32:34Speaker 2: I've been on several. Spend the extra money on that
- 32:38Speaker 2: balcony if you can, and just don't drink because the drink.
- 32:43Speaker 1: No. No.
- 32:45Speaker 2: So that's the very first cruise I went on in
- 32:48Speaker 2: eighty nine in school spring break, we went on the
- 32:53Speaker 2: Hawaii cruise. Guess what we thought The drinks were included.
- 32:59Speaker 2: And the night before your last night, they slipped a
- 33:02Speaker 2: little bill under your door. And when you pull it
- 33:06Speaker 2: up and you look, because you're two college kids.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Right, You're like.
- 33:11Speaker 2: It was two thousand dollars and you had to pay
- 33:15Speaker 2: it before you kick it off the boat.
- 33:18Speaker 1: See, I was always sending the impression drinks very inclusion,
- 33:21Speaker 1: but now I know.
- 33:22Speaker 2: But nowadays you can I've heard because we haven't been
- 33:25Speaker 2: on a cruise in a while, you now can buy
- 33:27Speaker 2: drink packages. But yeah, you think about it. Each drink
- 33:32Speaker 2: is seven dollars. And when you're out by the pool
- 33:35Speaker 2: and on that.
- 33:37Speaker 1: It is July nineteenth. Just Ian asked dumb question. I
- 33:42Speaker 1: will be in Mansfield end of July. When is that
- 33:44Speaker 1: wine thing? July nineteenth is when that is. I love
- 33:48Speaker 1: Mansfield is like super close where we're gonna be side.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Now I'm going to derail this entire show real quick.
- 33:55Speaker 1: It's kind of related but not. I just remember it
- 33:58Speaker 1: came out Tuesday because I haven't got to watch TV
- 34:00Speaker 1: the last two days because I've been researching and writing
- 34:03Speaker 1: the Crystal Rogers stuff. Okay, Terry afterwards, everybody, after we're
- 34:09Speaker 1: done with the show tonight, go on Netflix, all right,
- 34:12Speaker 1: because the documentary The Poop Cruise just came out. Are
- 34:17Speaker 1: you don't know what that is?
- 34:18Speaker 2: A been there?
- 34:19Speaker 1: Watch it? Already done? It. No, it's you watch it,
- 34:22Speaker 1: but I know what it is. If you've not been.
- 34:24Speaker 2: On a cruise, don't watch it. If you have been
- 34:27Speaker 2: on a cruise, you can watch.
- 34:30Speaker 1: It because you can.
- 34:32Speaker 2: So Kelly p says she buys the drink pass on Carnival.
- 34:35Speaker 2: I mean I learned that lesson later.
- 34:38Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm just saying, if I ever end up
- 34:41Speaker 1: going on a cruise, I feel that the universe is
- 34:44Speaker 1: going to be like, you know what, Lama poop cruise
- 34:47Speaker 1: for you? Yes, but what are all your worst fears
- 34:49Speaker 1: of a cruise that could happen?
- 34:51Speaker 2: So you buy the travel you buy the travel insurance, Okay,
- 34:55Speaker 2: and if you suspect it's like one hundred and fifty
- 34:59Speaker 2: dollars for the cruise. If you suspect there's any problem,
- 35:01Speaker 2: and you go into a port and you're already seeing
- 35:04Speaker 2: some stuff's happening. If you have travel insurance, you can
- 35:08Speaker 2: accidentally miss getting back on the boat. Oh and they
- 35:13Speaker 2: will fly you to the next port. And then when
- 35:16Speaker 2: it gets stuck out there with all the poop stuff
- 35:18Speaker 2: going on, you're not on it.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Well, after we're done today, go watch that on Netflix, guys,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and then leave a comment about what you thought about
- 35:27Speaker 1: poop Griz for me.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And also if you also should research your cruise ships
- 35:33Speaker 2: because after Hurricane Katrina, they took some cruise ships and
- 35:38Speaker 2: took them to New Orleans for people to live on
- 35:41Speaker 2: because of the housing situation. After that all finished, they
- 35:45Speaker 2: put them back in service. Do not cruise on one
- 35:50Speaker 2: of those ships. I'm going to just tell you.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Did it. Don't do it. Oh, don't do mine. That's
- 35:56Speaker 1: some advice.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Yeah, don't do it. I like cruising. Okay, So now
- 36:02Speaker 2: you tell us why they wanted a balcony.
- 36:05Speaker 1: All right. So Lani and his ex wife Micky boarded
- 36:08Speaker 1: the Island Escape Okay in May two thousand and six.
- 36:14Speaker 1: To onlookers, they were just another middle aged couple trying
- 36:17Speaker 1: to rekindle what they once had, and the most romantic
- 36:21Speaker 1: ship known demand. Once aboard the Island Escape, the pair
- 36:26Speaker 1: settled into a routine of sight seeing, dining, and lounging again.
- 36:31Speaker 1: The ship was no luxury liner, but it offered a
- 36:34Speaker 1: scenic itinerary. It stops in Naples, Messina, and other Italian ports.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Fellow passengers reported the couple seemed mostly calm, though not
- 36:46Speaker 1: overtly affectionate, and it's not that weird to me. Look
- 36:50Speaker 1: at that statue. So this crew sounds freaking awesome.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I go on this ship, but itineraryary was amazing worth it.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I'll go on the ship, but it's not the actual
- 37:01Speaker 1: poop cruise. That's a difference cruise. But if I was
- 37:05Speaker 1: on this one and it turned into the poop cruise,
- 37:07Speaker 1: at least I'm going to really cool places. They were
- 37:09Speaker 1: not in the poop cruse. Spoilers, spoilers, all right. Anyway,
- 37:15Speaker 1: there was no dramatic public arguments, no loud disputes. They
- 37:19Speaker 1: appeared to be enjoying themselves, at least on the surface.
- 37:23Speaker 1: But beneath that comic sterior, something sinister was brewing, something
- 37:29Speaker 1: Mickey couldn't have predicted, but perhaps felt on a gut level.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Friends back home would later testify that she had doubts
- 37:37Speaker 1: about the trip and told someone that she knew she
- 37:41Speaker 1: was only going to keep the peace.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Now, I'm going to just tell since one of my
- 37:48Speaker 2: besties on here, if any of my besties in real
- 37:53Speaker 2: life or.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Are YouTube besties.
- 37:56Speaker 2: If you ever tell me you're going on a cruise
- 37:59Speaker 2: with your X to try to rekindle a romance because
- 38:02Speaker 2: you're trying to keep the peace. I am going to
- 38:05Speaker 2: tell you no, not no, but hell no. I just
- 38:11Speaker 2: came in time and oh boy, oh okay, hold on,
- 38:17Speaker 2: I am going to tell you no, because.
- 38:20Speaker 1: If you're going on the wild Cruise to keep the peace,
- 38:25Speaker 1: you don't do it, so Savage says her, and the
- 38:30Speaker 1: gargle gargoyles thing have the same expression. They do that
- 38:35Speaker 1: they do and miss love that. Do not clip that,
- 38:41Speaker 1: Do not clip that, do not clip that.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Okay, But I'm just saying, if you need to keep
- 38:47Speaker 2: the peace, don't go on it.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Okay, that's true.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Now, On the evening of May twenty fifth, two thousand
- 38:53Speaker 2: and six, the couple dine together on board. Now after dinner,
- 38:57Speaker 2: they were seen walking on deck. By the next morning,
- 39:01Speaker 2: Mickey was gone. Guys, Lonnie reported her missing, telling ship
- 39:06Speaker 2: personnel that she must have fallen overboard during the night. Guys,
- 39:12Speaker 2: just going to tell you that shit don't happen. Shit.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I mean, look at this boat.
- 39:18Speaker 2: It does not have those big huge balconies with low bars.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Okay, okay, to see balcony, but okay, he claimed.
- 39:29Speaker 2: They were walking together late at night when she said
- 39:31Speaker 2: she wanted to stay out and get some air. Now,
- 39:34Speaker 2: I am going to tell you we didn't include it here.
- 39:37Speaker 2: He made several different versions of this. They were more asinine.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Each one, so I yeah, so yeah, okay.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Now he returned to the cabin alone, he said, and
- 39:51Speaker 2: fell asleep.
- 39:52Speaker 1: As does when their partner is missing.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I mean one of his versions were they had wine.
- 39:57Speaker 2: They came back, we're having wine, and then he took
- 40:01Speaker 2: ambient and went to sleep.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I mean he has.
- 40:05Speaker 2: How did he know that she fell overboorn big exactly and.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Sleep She could be anywhere on the shipping her first
- 40:12Speaker 1: things like, nope, she went in.
- 40:13Speaker 2: The water, but he said he woke up only to
- 40:16Speaker 2: realize she hadn't returned by morning.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Oh oh, what happened? Oh wow?
- 40:22Speaker 2: But such efforts were launched, but they were futile. Mickey's
- 40:27Speaker 2: body wasn't immediately recovered, and to be honest, guys, they
- 40:32Speaker 2: didn't know if they would ever be able to recover her.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I mean, look at this, you're rekindling your romance. How
- 40:40Speaker 2: are you rekindling this if you're sleeping in separate beds,
- 40:44Speaker 2: If you can't lean over and touch the person and
- 40:47Speaker 2: kiss them good night, or let your toest touch or
- 40:51Speaker 2: are you really trying to rekindle any romance.
- 40:55Speaker 1: There's a whole bottle of wine in the trash, yes,
- 41:00Speaker 1: but I mean it's nothing. But how are you I
- 41:05Speaker 1: don't get it. I don't either. I don't either.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Well, ambient Amy apparently needs to confirm is fantastic.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Let's say a.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Lunesta Terry water the yard naked. So Amy, you bring
- 41:25Speaker 2: the ambient I'll bring the lunesta.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Okay, Ohio is getting weird.
- 41:32Speaker 2: In case y'all are wondering. Amy's in the background so
- 41:36Speaker 2: we can see her, but y'all can't so her facial expressions.
- 41:41Speaker 2: So Savage just said they had bigger beds and basic training.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I believe, But look at all those pillows. Though they
- 41:47Speaker 1: up on the pillows.
- 41:48Speaker 2: On this I know, but normally, if your purple ships
- 41:51Speaker 2: can push the beds together, they couldn't on this ship
- 41:54Speaker 2: because they were bolted to the walls.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Oh well, I guess that makes makes makes sense anyway. So,
- 42:03Speaker 1: after Mickey was reported missing from the Island Escape Cruise
- 42:06Speaker 1: ship on May twenty six, two thousand and six, Lonnie
- 42:10Speaker 1: returned to California with a composed but somber demeanor. Ship
- 42:15Speaker 1: officials conducted a search but no one had seen anything unusual.
- 42:20Speaker 1: There were no cameras showing her alone on deck and
- 42:23Speaker 1: no known witnesses to a fall. Lonnie had called his
- 42:28Speaker 1: friends Bill and Susan, where he confided in them that
- 42:32Speaker 1: he was scared because he felt everyone was being mean
- 42:37Speaker 1: to him and they didn't speak English. Mick. He was
- 42:41Speaker 1: worried about getting caught up in a foreign court system,
- 42:45Speaker 1: so Bill, being the good friend, booked Lonnie a ticket
- 42:49Speaker 1: to Tampa, Florida, where he lived, but Lonnie changed the
- 42:53Speaker 1: ticket and flew to California instead, telling Bill he just
- 42:57Speaker 1: wanted to go home. I am going to tell y'all.
- 43:02Speaker 2: At first, I could totally see if you don't speak
- 43:06Speaker 2: the language and you're not in a foreign country, I
- 43:08Speaker 2: could see being scared and wanting to get the heck
- 43:12Speaker 2: out of Dodge. I don't think I would leave that day.
- 43:16Speaker 2: That's just me, okay, I was missing. Yeah, I have
- 43:21Speaker 2: way around the world and just leave her there. That
- 43:25Speaker 2: tells me you know something. I agree, But wasn't it
- 43:32Speaker 2: Italy And I could be wrong that I forget the
- 43:36Speaker 2: girl's name. She got put in jail for killing her
- 43:40Speaker 2: n then got out.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Amanda Amanda knocks knocks.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Yes, so I could see why you would be nervous.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I could see.
- 43:52Speaker 2: But you're an attorney, for God's sake, you are an attorney, right,
- 43:59Speaker 2: so weird. But now back in California, Lottie began reaching
- 44:05Speaker 2: out to close friends, including his longtime confident and private
- 44:12Speaker 2: investigator Bill. The calls were frequent, and from the start,
- 44:16Speaker 2: Lottie seemed deeply focused on the legal implications of what happened. Okay,
- 44:22Speaker 2: I'm not going to shame him on that. He is
- 44:23Speaker 2: an attorney. He probably, I mean, we think everything true crime.
- 44:27Speaker 2: He probably thinks everything legal. I think that's more than fair.
- 44:30Speaker 2: That's being I mean, very very fair. That's his job.
- 44:33Speaker 1: And really, when you have a job like that, it
- 44:34Speaker 1: becomes like exactly way of thinking. Now, it's not that weird.
- 44:40Speaker 2: There were no security videos, no illnesses, and no physical
- 44:43Speaker 2: evidence to prove what had occurred. Rather than sounding distraught
- 44:48Speaker 2: about this, his tone was matter of fact. He was
- 44:52Speaker 2: more concerned about what authorities might try to allege than
- 44:56Speaker 2: the mystery of Mickey being Yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 1: See, that's the red flag there. That's that's where you're like, oh, buddy,
- 45:05Speaker 1: like I get you when I think of legal stuff. Yeah,
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'll give you a pass, but what yeah, come on. Well,
- 45:14Speaker 1: according to Bill, Lannie also asked him to look into
- 45:18Speaker 1: maritime law, wondering aloud about what jurisdiction might apply in
- 45:23Speaker 1: a case where someone vanishes in international waters. How did
- 45:27Speaker 1: much you want to bet that he probably already looked
- 45:29Speaker 1: this up before he went absolutely.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Now, back when I think it was in February, JT
- 45:40Speaker 2: told us about Marytown law because guys, I learned some
- 45:44Speaker 2: things as somebody whose crews several times, I learned some
- 45:47Speaker 2: things that were shocking. That is a maritime law. So
- 45:51Speaker 2: I having to just tell you, if you're going on
- 45:53Speaker 2: a cruise, check out the laws and see.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Who owns the ship. I don't think people know that
- 45:58Speaker 1: was a very interesting for me.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Because I just assumed I'm an American. I caught the
- 46:05Speaker 2: boat in America. Don't we follow American laws?
- 46:09Speaker 1: I just why would Lonnie reach out to Bill. Bill's
- 46:12Speaker 1: a private investigator. Lannie is a freaking lawyer, So why
- 46:18Speaker 1: is he not looking at the laws as opposed to
- 46:20Speaker 1: the private investigator? Right? Yep?
- 46:23Speaker 2: Like what.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Why would you even do that? Anyway? So, at first
- 46:29Speaker 1: these questions could have been interpreted as the worries of
- 46:32Speaker 1: a man afraid of being wrongly blamed if that does happen, right,
- 46:35Speaker 1: because I always say, first suspect is the boyfriend, husband,
- 46:39Speaker 1: and there's a reason for that. Statistically it is. But
- 46:43Speaker 1: soon even Bill began to sense something was off. Lonnie's
- 46:48Speaker 1: focus wasn't on grief for closure. It was on strategy,
- 46:52Speaker 1: which I then, he's a lawyer, so I do give
- 46:54Speaker 1: him a little bit of grace there. Still, though, without
- 46:59Speaker 1: any concrete evidence, no conclusions could be drawn. After all,
- 47:03Speaker 1: it could have been an accident. Mickey was known to
- 47:07Speaker 1: enjoy quiet moments alone and could have lost her balance
- 47:11Speaker 1: on the darkened deck. It was tragic, but was it
- 47:14Speaker 1: really suspicious? I mean, I don't know. I mean, first,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 47:22Speaker 2: I mean, I am that person. I always try to
- 47:24Speaker 2: give grace, try to be understanding.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I hate it when law.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Enforcement says, oh, they were guilty because they didn't act
- 47:31Speaker 2: the way I felt they should have.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Until we've been in it. How can I judge somebody
- 47:37Speaker 1: when I've never been there? Sure, But then people always
- 47:40Speaker 1: say that when people are acting like way out and
- 47:42Speaker 1: You're like, that is not normal at all, Okay, not
- 47:44Speaker 1: even closed. You can't even get a pass for that
- 47:47Speaker 1: that it's okay, but.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Okay, Well I'm always extra So can you imagine if
- 47:54Speaker 2: I am in that situation, the cops are going to
- 47:56Speaker 2: be like, oh, she did it, she is over the top.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Oh would you pull a Karen. It's hysterical. I'm dreaming.
- 48:04Speaker 2: So, I mean, people are gonna be like, yeah, that's
- 48:07Speaker 2: just her, that's just her. But now Lonnie told her
- 48:13Speaker 2: informed Bill that the FBI was going to work the case.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Guys, Bill was like, this is good news. Yes, the
- 48:21Speaker 1: X Files. I love that.
- 48:24Speaker 2: You know.
- 48:24Speaker 1: What I want to do, friends that are listening, is
- 48:27Speaker 1: I've never seen The X Files in its entirety. I also,
- 48:31Speaker 1: like when it was on TV, I've never went back.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Now that you know you can stream, think right, so
- 48:37Speaker 1: I've only ever seen f episodes that would like air
- 48:41Speaker 1: out of order on TV's totally not in its entirety.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I've probably seen maybe like four episodes and that was
- 48:49Speaker 1: literally like twenty five years ago. Yeah, yeah, and you
- 48:53Speaker 1: say I'm out of touch girls was last night?
- 48:57Speaker 2: Stop stop hey we oh you just broke the membership rule.
- 49:05Speaker 2: You know that we called me out on members only.
- 49:09Speaker 1: I've never even heard of the labyrinth.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Okay, I said, wow, Well, let me tell you, Scully
- 49:15Speaker 2: made me question my sexuality.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Oh well, I mean she's fanciastic. She was hot. Okay,
- 49:23Speaker 1: she is hot. She is hot.
- 49:26Speaker 2: So anyway, guys, Mickey had gone missing without a trace,
- 49:31Speaker 2: and her remains were found miles away. Okay, now It'salian
- 49:38Speaker 2: authorities opened a formal investigation.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Guys.
- 49:44Speaker 2: US officials began reviewing Lannie's return, behavior, and financial moves
- 49:49Speaker 2: after the trip. Okay, he began taking steps to access
- 49:54Speaker 2: joint accounts and investments that he and Mickey want shared.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Because remember when he he got in trouble or he
- 50:01Speaker 2: thought he was going to be in trouble, they put
- 50:04Speaker 2: everything in her name, but he could still.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Access the accounts.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Okay, he said these were tied to their ongoing relationship
- 50:14Speaker 2: and shared plans for the future. Some friends believed him,
- 50:19Speaker 2: others weren't so sure. I'm not a friend, but I
- 50:22Speaker 2: don't believe him. Okay, I don't believe him.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Now.
- 50:25Speaker 2: As the investigation grew, so did the questions about what
- 50:30Speaker 2: really happened on the ship and whether the story Lonnie
- 50:34Speaker 2: told was the full truth. Guys, if your partner goes missing,
- 50:41Speaker 2: you do not start trying to access bank accounts within
- 50:45Speaker 2: a matter of days. You don't call the insurance company.
- 50:50Speaker 1: You'll tell you.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Don't do that because guess what that makes you, suss
- 50:56Speaker 2: It makes you guilty before inescent.
- 50:59Speaker 1: It's not going to help beer casing. We'll just put
- 51:01Speaker 1: it that way. We'll just put it that way. Now.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Mickey's body was recovered from the Mediterranean Sea around May
- 51:09Speaker 1: twenty seven, two thousand and six. That is the same
- 51:12Speaker 1: day that Lannie left Italy and flew back to California.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Interesting, right, I need to ask a question for the chat.
- 51:24Speaker 2: I need everyone to put in the chat. If you
- 51:26Speaker 2: are on a cruise with someone you love or we're
- 51:30Speaker 2: married too, and they're missing, I want to know if
- 51:35Speaker 2: you would the next day after reporting them missing, if
- 51:40Speaker 2: you would leave. I just need to know, because guys, I.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Would not be leaving, no way, no way.
- 51:48Speaker 2: So I just need other people because maybe I'm just
- 51:51Speaker 2: so extra that I would not leave no anyway.
- 51:56Speaker 1: So an official autopsy was performed on June sixteenth in Valencia, Spain.
- 52:03Speaker 1: I don't know why it took that many weeks for
- 52:06Speaker 1: an autopsy to happen. That's a long time. May twenty seventh,
- 52:10Speaker 1: the June sixteenth. That's maybe it was because it was
- 52:14Speaker 1: out on water. There might have been issues of where
- 52:17Speaker 1: the jurisdiction goes. So where does that go?
- 52:21Speaker 2: Josh Minkwitz dateline. They had to ship the body somewhere
- 52:26Speaker 2: else from where it was found because they couldn't do
- 52:29Speaker 2: it there and that small little providence, so they had
- 52:32Speaker 2: to go through a process to get it there. It
- 52:36Speaker 2: wasn't a place that they were prepared to do this.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Kind of Oh, well, then that makes a little bit
- 52:41Speaker 1: more sense. And then because that was my question.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and then when I just you know, watched that yesterday,
- 52:49Speaker 2: I saw that, I was like, okay, now that makes sense.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Well Italian pathologist doctor Ricci, that's just what I'm not
- 52:57Speaker 1: going to try with that. What's been a first name,
- 53:03Speaker 1: Petra Tanino. Doctor Ricci reported several significant trauma around the
- 53:11Speaker 1: base of her neck, deep hemorrhaging bruises consistent with strangulation,
- 53:17Speaker 1: not accidental injury. The severe neck trauma was central to
- 53:22Speaker 1: the conclusion that her death was caused by foul play,
- 53:27Speaker 1: not a fall or drowning, and even more telling was
- 53:31Speaker 1: the absence of water in her lungs or stomach, despite
- 53:35Speaker 1: being found floating in the sea, Mickey had not inhaled water,
- 53:40Speaker 1: indicating she was already deceased when her body entered the water.
- 53:45Speaker 1: He should have known that.
- 53:47Speaker 2: I mean, I have to tell you, but that's one
- 53:50Speaker 2: thing I didn't look into. He must have been a
- 53:53Speaker 2: corporate attorney. Must he was nowhere. But now I am
- 53:58Speaker 2: more worried. Please tell me you're not talking.
- 54:03Speaker 1: About Lonnie, no, doctor Ritchie. Okay, that's what I was thinking.
- 54:07Speaker 2: But I just needed to make sure we were clear
- 54:09Speaker 2: because I was going to assume. Why would we check
- 54:14Speaker 2: her armpits?
- 54:17Speaker 1: It's from the murder trial. Remember the coroner checked their
- 54:20Speaker 1: arm pits. That's how long they've been which was that's right? Okay? Yeah,
- 54:25Speaker 1: well Buffy, it could have Buffy says, nobody noticed in
- 54:28Speaker 1: strangling her. My guess is it happened in their room
- 54:31Speaker 1: and then he tossed her over the balcony of his
- 54:34Speaker 1: And is my guest so far in the story of
- 54:36Speaker 1: probably what's.
- 54:38Speaker 2: And something that we don't talk about, right, And you
- 54:41Speaker 2: said he got a balcony, right, he did.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Okay, But here's the thing. They did not question.
- 54:50Speaker 2: The people in the rooms next to them to see
- 54:52Speaker 2: if they heard or heard any fighting.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Mmm.
- 54:57Speaker 2: And then when Bill and Susan went back on the ship,
- 55:03Speaker 2: the cruise company refused to give out the list of passengers.
- 55:08Speaker 1: And they couldn't get it.
- 55:10Speaker 2: And because of maritime laws in countries they couldn't get it.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Now their social media would be able to find out
- 55:18Speaker 2: who was on that ship right now. Such an absence
- 55:24Speaker 2: is a forensic red flag.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Guys.
- 55:26Speaker 2: We all know if there is not water and the lungs,
- 55:28Speaker 2: this person did not drown. Okay, sorry, patreants, it's Antonio.
- 55:38Speaker 1: So it's Petra Antonio Ici. All right, I'm going to
- 55:43Speaker 1: show off. Okay, I'm just guessing. I'm just guessing. Okay. Now.
- 55:48Speaker 2: In addition to the strangulation bruses, guys, the autopsy uncovered
- 55:54Speaker 2: some other disturbing findings. I want to give another alert
- 55:59Speaker 2: that that I'm getting ready to say some things that
- 56:02Speaker 2: are not very comfortable. There was evidence of trauma to
- 56:08Speaker 2: her inner thighs, suggestive perhaps a physical struggle or sexual assault.
- 56:15Speaker 2: It was also noted that a skull fracture or brain
- 56:18Speaker 2: hemorrhaging likely from a blunt object, possibly a wine bottle,
- 56:27Speaker 2: which added feather proof of a encounter exactly Neither of
- 56:35Speaker 2: these injuries aligned with an accidental fall overboard. There was
- 56:40Speaker 2: also zero water found, like we said, in her lungs. So, guys,
- 56:46Speaker 2: the pattern of trauma for strangulation, leg bruising, skull injuries
- 56:50Speaker 2: and lack of drowning guys instantly ruled out accidental death
- 56:56Speaker 2: or suicide. I mean even US people could figure that out, right.
- 57:04Speaker 1: So when the FBI and the Italian authorities received these
- 57:08Speaker 1: aue tipsy findings, autopsy.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Okay, woman, you said all tipsy, you said autips I
- 57:19Speaker 2: loved it. Autipsy right now, I miss snap that because
- 57:23Speaker 2: autipsy needs to be our word going forward. Anytime it
- 57:27Speaker 2: says autopsy, it needs to be autipsy.
- 57:30Speaker 1: In fairness, I have not had a break today.
- 57:32Speaker 2: I've read that I love I wasn't shading you.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I love it, okay, because I have an eighty So
- 57:40Speaker 1: it's gonna happen real fast. Anyway, what was I saying? Okay? So,
- 57:45Speaker 1: the FBI and the Italian authorities received these autipsy findings,
- 57:50Speaker 1: and it transformed the investigation. No longer was mcke's disappearance
- 57:54Speaker 1: treated as a tragic maritime accident. It was now unmistakably
- 58:00Speaker 1: classified as a murder. Case, the precise medical evidence became
- 58:05Speaker 1: pivotal in steering investigation focus onto Lonnie, the last person
- 58:10Speaker 1: with Mickey before she disappeared. Instead, the autopsy report exposed
- 58:15Speaker 1: a violent, premeditated act, triggering both US and Italian authorities
- 58:22Speaker 1: to intensify their scrutiny and coordination in building a homicide case.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Can we put autopsy on some merch BALI you're in
- 58:32Speaker 1: the chat, I write that down please, I will wear
- 58:36Speaker 1: it now. Remember when miss and girlfriend on the ship,
- 58:41Speaker 1: I would complain and stay on the ship and say, well,
- 58:43Speaker 1: virgos are a mythic getaway.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Meditations that I think I said I and this is
- 58:51Speaker 2: saying a lot. Hopefully my ex husbands aren't listening. Even
- 58:54Speaker 2: if my ex husbands fell off of a cruise ship
- 58:56Speaker 2: that I was on, I wouldn't leave the next day.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I mean, I'm sorry. There's just something wrong
- 59:05Speaker 2: with that.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really weird and suspicious. It is, okay. So
- 59:12Speaker 1: remember when Lannie disembarked from the Island Escape in Italy
- 59:15Speaker 1: the day after reporting Mickey missing. He didn't immediately return
- 59:21Speaker 1: to his California home. Nope. Instead, he took a curious
- 59:26Speaker 1: detour and went to Riverside, California, and met a woman.
- 59:32Speaker 1: This woman, later identified as Amy Wynn, was not just
- 59:38Speaker 1: a friend or a casual acquaintance. She was someone with
- 59:42Speaker 1: whom Lannie had been cultivating a romantic relationship, one that
- 59:47Speaker 1: quietly overlapped with his rekindling connection to Mickey. Look at
- 59:52Speaker 1: this lady's ma'am.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Okay, what I have to remind you all. We call
- 59:57Speaker 2: it rekindling. They divorced, but they stayed a couple.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought that was great to get caught.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: So they were trying to rekindle. And what he said
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: that meant living in the same house.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: And no longer living in.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Separate places a Riverside Yeah, I know. My Jeffy used
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: to live there and there was a shooting in his
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: apartment in his condo complex.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Yeah that mine. Yeah.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Now, the choice to visit Amy rather than heading home
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: to grieve or assists with the unfolding investigation raised eyebrows
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: in hindsight.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Totally normal. I yeah, I.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: At the time, Lani kept his trip under wraps. Okay, guys,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: there was no public declarations of love, no explanations offered.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: He was not on TV crying.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I believe there was none. Of that. Wow, did you
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: like that? That was good? That was very good. Perfect now.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: But so to anyone watching, it looked like a grieving
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: man returning home from a tragic accident with no emotions.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: But guys, privately, he.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Was taking calculated steps, steps that now suggest he was
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: shifting gears, distancing himself emotionally and geographically from the cruise
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: that he paid for and from Mickey.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Yeah again, he's a lawyer. He must not have been
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: a criminal lawyer.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Or no, he had to be doing credit collections or something,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: because he was.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Doing all the wrong, wrong things now meditation, I agree.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: If you're already divorced, do not go back.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: There's a reason he left, oh lady, and Gray says
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: that guy I went to college with got divorced from
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: his wife after he was arrested for embezzlement and put
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: everything in her name before he went to trial, and
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: they stayed together.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: She knows where all the money does? I mean, if
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: he's in prison, it's all hers right right now. Amy,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: the other woman, for her part, didn't appear to know
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: the full extent of what had happened. Lonnie told her
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: that Mickey had fallen overboard and that the situation was
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: being handled by authorities in Europe. He reassured her, focusing
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: on the future and making promises that painted Mickey as
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: part of the past. It was only after the news
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: broke about Mickey's body being found, which was like literally
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: the next day, and the cause of death confirmed as strangulation,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: that things took a darker turn. Investigators would later learn
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: that Lonnie began transferring money and real estate assets into
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Amy's name almost immediately upon returning to California. Definitely makes
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: me think he's some kind of financial leader.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Yeah, now, guys, just you know, the trip to see
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: Amy wasn't just a romantic detour, Okay, it's a big
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: freaking red flag, okay, or a clue. And it's a
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: clue that suggested Lonnie's priorities were not aligned with the
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: narrative of a man devastated by the sudden loss of
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: a former spouse he was supposedly trying to reconcile with.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Instead of staying in Italy to assist in the search
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: or to provide statements to investigators, Lonnie.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Being the piece of shit he is, was focused on
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: the next chapter of his life.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Okay, one that didn't include Mickey. To those who would
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: later reconstruct the timeline, this stop over with Amy would
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: become a piece at a much larger, far more unsettling
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: piece of the puzzle. And guys, stuff that makes me
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: want to scream the F word.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: I think I feel like Terry's gonna pop an F
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: word in here, right, hey.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: And this can pop the C word. Me Just throwing
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: an F word isn't gonna hurt. But I'm sorry, wait
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: to you, just wait, just wait, people.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Now. The other woman in Lonnie's tangle of romantic history
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: was Amy Howynn, a soft spoken fifth grade teacher originally
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: from Vietnam. Lonnie met Amy online in the mid two thousands.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Oh boy, look at that old af metsha gun. That's
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: not what it looks like now, right, I imagine that
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: this is I have never been a dot com, never
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: been on that. I don't know now. Lonnie met Amy
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: online right during a period when he and Mickey were
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: still legally divorced but maintaining an exclusive relationship. Cheating yeah right,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: and he remember he had his own apartment in downtown
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: La Ammy was warm, trusting, and by many accounts, deeply
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: enamored with Lannie, but she's a teacher, Dayton a lawyer
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: like of course, right anyway, their relationship escalated quickly, so quickly,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: in fact, that they secretly married in July twenty or
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: two thousand and five, and before this murder.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: And I do he's still an exclusive relationship with Mickey.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: He's cheating on both of these women.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: It's crazy this guy.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: To my knowledge, nowhere did we see they had children,
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: so at.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Least he didn't grew do that.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Now, guys, what makes Amy's involvement go shocking, like what
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: is it?
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Shock all? Does that it? Right? Shock all? Anyway?
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Was how little anyone in Lonnie's life knew about him
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: knew about her. Guess what, guys, Bill Price and his
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: partner Susan McQueen were shocked to discover that Lonnie and
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Amy ever married, and that Amy was ever even in
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: the picture. I mean it's literally like, oh shit, who
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: is this.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: God? I'm like, I'm tried, I mean he's now.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Lonnie had kept Amy completely hidden from his circle. He
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: did lavish her with expensive gifts. He bought her Alexis
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: a large home and promises of a future. But guys,
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: that marriage was short lived.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I mean he can't afford a queen size bed on
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: a cruise, Bacon by Alexis.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: That's why I said that it was not a luxurious cruise,
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: because he was paying for all of that. Now, within
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: a few months, Lonnie quietly divorced Amy and returned to Mickey,
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: framing that Mediterranean cruise as a chance to rekindle their relationship.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: That's where the rekindle comes from.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: He's always about rekindling things.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: He had no idea he had been dipping his wick
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: in somebody else's candle.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Oh boy, well, when our favorite Bill Price found out
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: that Lannie had taken a detour to visit another woman
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: instead of flying straight home after Mickey's disappearance, he was stunned.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: You know why, because he's a gentleman and him and
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Susanne are perfect and amazing, and Bill was also deeply unsettled.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Bill was also furious and told Lonnie this made him
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: look very suspicious. Yes, yes, sorry, dope, meditation says good thing.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: I watched a lot of trials. I knew where this
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: was going. I know.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: I'm like, guys, that is the reason you watch live trials.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Wait, no, that's not why. It's not the reason it's
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: called education.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: You learned about the legal system, you learn about things
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: people do. I'm sorry, it is why you watch it.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: You learn so you know. As Lonnie's longtime friend and
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: former private investigator, Bill had always believed he understood how
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Lonnie operated. But this move just it didn't sit right
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: with him. He couldn't reconcile the image of a man
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: who just lost someone he claimed to love with, one
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: who days later was visiting on new romantic interests and
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: already looking ahead. He would never do that to Susanne ever,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: or Susan. Oh, Susan, sorry Susan anyway, So it didn't
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: feel like grief to Bill. It felt like evasion. In hindsight,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: that detour became a turning point for Bill. It was
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: the moment he began to question everything Lonnie had told
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: about him, told him about what really happened on that cruise.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Oh boy, okay, sorry didn't This wine might be too good.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: It's going down way too easy, But I also haven't
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: been able to feel good and enjoy stuff. So don't
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: think I'm being an alcoholic over here, guys. It just
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: feels really good to feel normal.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: In the months following Mickey's death, Lonnie slipped back into
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: his life with an unsettling ease. Okay, he resumed his
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: law practice, and he continued his romantic relationship with Amy,
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: and quietly, as we mentioned earlier, he began maneuvering to
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: gain access to Mickey's financial assets. Now, on the surface,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: it appeared he was grieving in his own way and
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: moving forward. Guys, everybody has the white right to agrieve. However,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: I agree, lady and Gray. I would punch him in
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: the face.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: What a horrible way to be born with a punchable face,
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: So unfortunate for it.
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: But I don't ever want to say that. We don't
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: have You know, you have the right to grieve your
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: own way.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Okay, sure, but this way I'm gonna make you look good,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: that's for sure.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: But to Bill Price, Lonnie's longtime friend, something just didn't
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: feel right. Bill had been one of the first people
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Lonnie called after Mickey disappeared. Remembered, and Bill helped get
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: him the flight out, and the tone of that call
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: stuck with him. He looking back, because hindsight's always twenty twenty, right, Sure,
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Lonnie sounded more concerned about legal implications than the emotional loss.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: I think Bill started putting into his mind what would
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I do if Susan and I had got on this
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: cruise and what if this happened to Susan?
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: How would I have been? Yeah? Because he's a great
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: guy and a good friend. I mean, he flew him back,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: you know, through all this, Bill, you're a good friend
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: and a good guy. Okay, now, Annie.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Guys, hold on to your butts because I'm a out
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: to make Lama pissed. Lonnie was a very good friend
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: to Bill at one time. Really, Okay, Bill was in
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: the hospital. There were some things going on. Let's just
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: say Lonnie stepped in and made shit happen. All of
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: a sudden, Bill got the care he needed and was
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: entitled to, and it saved Bill's life. That helped kind
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: of cement their friendship. So fine, fine, Lonnie did one
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: good thing.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: That's a pretty good thing.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: One so and it's a good thing because Bill's here
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: with us today.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: So to give.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Him out probably, But I always try to give people
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: where credit is due. But that's about all the credit
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: I can give to Lonnie.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: That's about it. Sorry, that's fair. Well. As Lonnie continue
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: to navigate life post cruise. Bill found himself in a
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: painful position. I would be too, caught between his loyalty
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: to a friend and his instincts as a seasoned investigator.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: He began to replay their conversations in his mind, noting
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: how Lannie's words felt more like a careful, curated narrative
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: than a raw recounting of grief. Oh, look at him,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: he looks sad there, But look at his gold chain. Buddy, Okay,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: wonder what that is hanging from that. I don't know.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I know that's Bill. I know it's a dop claw.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't know.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Bill. Could you call me or message me and tell
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: me what you're wearing on your Florida shirt.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: The focus was always on what couldn't be proven, no witnesses,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: no video, no evidence, not on what had actually happened.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: And then there was the timing the cruise, Mickey's disappearance,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: and the detour to Amy. It's not looking.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Great, it's not now. Bill and Susan took up Lonnie's
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: case even though they found something's off, but they were
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: true friends. They began trying to put together the facts
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: on why Lonnie could not have been the person who
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: killed Mickey and that it had to have been another passenger. Guys,
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: as they looked into it, they started to feel a
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: little more unsettled.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Oh sorry, I'm so sorry. Are you going. I just
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: have to say that.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: Annie is probably asleep, and I hope she is sleeping,
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: because when you have a new baby, baby sleeps, you sleep.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Mm hmm, you sleep whenever you can. There's no shame
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: in that.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: No, you guys are not but leaden graces. Are you boring?
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Are we boring you? Lama? No, I just barely slipped
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: in the last three days researching and writing all of
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: car Crystal Rogers for you guys. So I've gotten very
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: little sleep in the last couple of days. Actually, guys,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: we know elboth been keeping her away. What. Yes, he's
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: been asleep before me most nights. Now. Bill suggested that
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: Lonnie prove his innocence by taking a lie to Texas test. Well,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: guess what, Lonnie failed it, and he failed it so
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: spectacularly that the polygraph the polygraph examiner asked Bill if
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: he was in on it and then went to say,
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: you know he's guilty, right, Yeah, that's saying something that
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: is bad. That's bad that's really really bad. But Bill
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: still wasn't one hundred percent sold that Lonnie hadn't done
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: anything wrong and thought his dear friend had just made
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: some bad decisions and was about how he would look
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: because of how he acted, which is fair. I'm not
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: a big believer in polygraphs, so I.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: Mean I am here with Bill because I always try
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: to look to the best in people, and if it's
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: a good friend, I totally would be the same way.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: But here's the thing about this. It doesn't say this here,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: but we already know the FBI was looking into this.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: That's who was looking into this, and they have their
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: own examiners that do polygraphs, and each of their agents
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: have to go through a polygraph. So in this instance,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: the polygraph actually does mean something more to me than
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: I mean, that is a big deal to important people
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: have to go through.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: And Bill used someone he knew very well who was
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: very skilled at this. They asked eleven questions.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I believe it was oh wow, that's it.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Yeah, So I mean he felt that bad. They were
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: like yeah, and that's why the guy came out. So
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: the dateline episode, if anybody you know just needs more
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: of this case, it's called something waters, But I mean,
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: is it not the FBI?
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Who it wasn't Bill? Oh well, my mistake, listeners, I apologize.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: I was under the impression that it was No.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Bill went to a friend before the FBI. He was
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: the guy was one of the top light detector guys
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: in the world. So I mean he went to one
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: of the tops. So like the FBI, I believe that
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: said had used him. Okay, so we're still the same
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: caliber of So he's not just a It's not like
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: somebody Addison from the Chase Lackey case where's he went to.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: This was a real person, open water.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Thank you, Kappain.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: But no, the guy came out literally and looked at
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Bill and like, you're in on this right, you know
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: this guy did it?
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Yikes.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: And but Bill is thinking attorney probably didn't answer the
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: questions right because he's thinking this, He's thinking that I
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: do love that Bill gave the benefit of the doubt. Now, guys,
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: in early two thousand and nine, two thousand and nine, yeah,
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: that was a long time ago. Three years after Mickey's death,
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Lonnie asked Bill and Susan to visit his ex wife,
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: Amy Wynn. So Bill was growing increasingly weary of Lonnie.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: He and Susan agreed, but guys. When they arrived at
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Amy's home, Susan went inside first, while Bill waited outside,
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: listening from the car. As the meeting began, I appreciate
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: that a woman going She's been through a lot. She's
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: asked all these questions, so I appreciate this.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Oh well, I mean they are private investigators. They do
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: know how to slide in there the right way. Well.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Susan started out gently, asking Amy how she was doing
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: and whether she'd spoken with investigators, but the conversation quickly
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: took a dramatic turn when Amy, visibly shaken, revealed that
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Lannie had told her the cruise with Mickey was a setup.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: That's right, contrary to her earlier Grand Jerry testimony, because
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: there was some of that. Amy now said Lonnie had
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: planned Mickey's death before the trip, and she admitted she
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: had been terrified ever since. I mean, I would he
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: killed a woman he was married to and little. I
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: don't blame Amy, Yeah, I don't blame her in the
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: slightest for just being scared.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: It gets worse, Okay, what done Susan and Bill even
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: more was Amy's next revelation. Lonnie had allegedly told Amy
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: that a well connected friend helped arrange Mickey's murder, and
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: that friend, Lonnie claimed was Bill Price. So Susan was shocked, paused,
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: and asked Amy if she knew Bill was listening.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: Then guys.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: Bill entered the room. He directly asked if she believed
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Lonnie had implicated him, and Amy said yes, explaining that
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Lonnie had deliberately made her fear Bill and suggested he
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: had dangerous connections. She was scared of more than the
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: fact that he had killed Mickey. He was connected.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I do not like that. I don't like that,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: you know. In that moment was a breaking point for Bill.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: I mean I'd be like, oh what, No, I.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: Mean, this is your row, this is your friend, this is.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: You know. Hearing Amy's confession firsthand made it crystal clear
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: she wasn't lying, Her fear was palpable, and her story
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: ring true. Whatever loyalty Bill had once felt towards Lannie
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: was gone. As I would it would be the same
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: for me. I'm like, I wish I probably would help
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: you out in this scenario, but like, you didn't even
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: come ask me so no, like, okay.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: Now, after talking with Amy and the felt polygraph test
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: for Bill, the revolt, all of this shattered any lingering
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: beliefs that Lannie was innocent. Now you take that with
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: the troubling behavior that Lonnie had exhibited since Mickey's disappearance,
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: his cold dior, his leal posturing in his detour to
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: visit another woman. Guys, Bill was like, yeah, this is
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: something else.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: This isn't great. It's not great. It's not great, my friend,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: it is not great. Recognizing that he could no longer
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: stay silent, Bill contacted federal investigators. That's all right, eh.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: He and Susan shared what they knew, including Lonnie's fixation
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: on forensic details and how he disturbingly referred to Mickey
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: as the body during phone calls. And I just want
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: to say, you hear that, mcalberts. It is suspicious when
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: you refer to someone you know as the guy in
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: the snow or some guy anything but their actual name
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: is suspicious. Okay, suspicious? I agree? Yeah? Yeah, So why
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: everybody's blooming noise? Okay?
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Speaking of the mcalberts, really quick, whoever on discord posted
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: the video of Jackson standing in the front yard of
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: the mcalberts house screaming out and somebody inside recording it.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: It's on the discord. I forget which channel, somebody else else.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: It was interesting. You could hear aj every time he screamed.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Was this like they were testing it out? They were
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: testing it. I haven't been able to be over there.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: Kottie Jackson was testing it. Oh, I love that. I'm
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: definitely gonna chip. By the way, if you guys enjoy
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: us being live and the chatters, we do have a
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: discord server where we all hang out when we're not
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: live and streaming. You guys, it's called the Courtyard. If
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: you don't know how it works, that's okay, just go
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: ahead and join. We are all very friendly and will
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: help teach you how it works. But that's where we
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: all hang out. We watch shows together, documentaries, talk about
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: true crime, you can find court documents, the whole shebang.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: So that is where we all are. And you can
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: see that Alan Jackson video she was just talking about.
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's where we share personal we get
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: to know you a little bit better.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: It's like a cool place. That's true. I haven't been
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: able to be on much lately, but I try to
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: be honest often as I can.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: You need to get a new Producer's what I'm thinking,
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: because you is not helping you out. Oh wait a minute,
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: you are the producer. Sorry you wait to just talk
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: to yourself, sweetheart.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: And Amy's sitting there, like, what's you say she is not?
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: She is the AP or is she the producer? She is? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Oh I did not see. They didn't discuss that with me.
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: I am so sorry, I miss I thought she was
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: the producer of her own show.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: I mean, no, I'm the star. I'm just getting the star. Okay,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: get people are now.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: These insights did help humanize the case for law enforcement
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: and underscored a calculated mindset that did not align with
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Lonnie's public claims of grief. Bill also took his own
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: polygraph test to prove he was being truthful.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Okay, guys.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: This strengthened that he was not in on it.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: He was not in on it. I mean I'd probably
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: do the same thing and goats Now. At the request
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: of investigators, Bill began recording his phone conversations with Lannie.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Oh that's right, playing the role of a supportive friend
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: while gently drawing out inconsistency in Lonnie's story. These conversations
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: revealed a man speaking in legal terms rather than emotional ones,
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: someone focused more on evidence evidence gaps than the loss
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: of a loved one. Bill's decision to come forward, record
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: these calls and stand by the truth would prove to
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: be a turning point, breathing new life into a case
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: that might otherwise have gone cold. I mean, Bill, I'm
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: in a row of this story. If you guys interested,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: Bill Price is the hero.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: If it wasn't for him, I personally don't think Mickey
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: would have ever gotten justice.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: I think they would have had a very difficult time now.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: He approached each call as a trusted confidante, calm, not accusatory,
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: and prompting Lonnie to share details. These calls revealed a
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: disconcerting pattern. Lonnie repeatedly avoided emotional expressions and in dead
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: maintained that legalistic tone, which guys, I get he is attorney,
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: but not want a loved one.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I think you sometimes you got to take
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: your work hats off, and it's okay, But I don't
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: think you.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Have a choice in a traumatic situation if you truly
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: love that person. I personally don't think Lonnie could love
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: anyone but himself.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: But that's just me. I mean there's people I don't
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: even love that I would still be.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Torn apart, and like, I don't think knows the concept
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: of love. Yeah, but he focused obsessively on forensic specifics,
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: fixating on Mickey's bodies, her injuries, and the absences of witnesses,
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: and one unsettling moment, he referred to his as we
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: mentioned his ex wife simply as the body like the
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: mcalberts that totally screwed him up.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Guys, let's just be honest. Yes, Yeah. After Bill Price
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: handed over the recordings and information of federal authorities, the
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: trajectory of the investigation into Mickey's death changed dramatically. What
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: had long lingered in limbo as a suspicious but unproven
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: death was now rapidly transforming into a well supported homicide case.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: Bill's recordings, particularly with Amy's taped confession that Lonnie had
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: admitted to planning Mickey's death before the cruise, were treated
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: as game changing evidence. These weren't just offhand comments. They
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: pointed to clear premeditation and manipulation, delivered by someone Lonnie
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: had trusted to keep quiet. Hmm. Too bad for you
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: to Lannie. With Bill's cooperation and the tapes in hand,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: investigators now had a compelling narrative backed by real voices,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: and that will get you and go everydog like you
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: are screwed at that scene. At that point when you
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: get recorded, your only choice then is to take the stand.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: If you don't take the stand, yeah, now I agree,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: are found guilty. It's not a good idea, it's not great.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Should me just throw something out there to make everybody's
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: head spin? M hmm. If this was to happen in
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: today's time, what if it was a I.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: Don get me started on air? Well, that's a whole
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: different episode. We can talk about that in members only.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: I have opinions, and you too, because I don't like
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: that we're on here.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: I had somebody who called me, several former co workers.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: My voice was used that they stole from YouTube for
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: the podcast. So, guys, we're gonna have to start thinking
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: about the audio part instead of just listening record with cameras.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: People. This was two thousand and six, though you guys,
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: I know, well a couple of years. It was the
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: odds when was taken.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Now you need to start and so the good news.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: The fallout for Lonnie was immediate. In Damning Okay, law
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: enforcement began re examining his financial records, discovering that shortly
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: after Mickey's death, Lonnie attempted to transfer nely one million
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: dollars from accounts that had been in Mickey's name or
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: shared between them. Prosecutors also uncovered that he had purchased
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: property with Amy after the cruise using some of those funds. Guys, see,
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: he was trying to pull Amy into this shit too.
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: I personally think he was trying to set her up somehow.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: I don't know how, but I don't know. The financial
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: movers helped support the special circumstances charges of financial gain.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Investigators also took a closer look at the timeline of
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: Lonnie's behavior, including his detour to see Amy, his quick
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: return to California, and his legal efforts to access Mickey's estate.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: All of it, guys, as.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: We know, made us picture a man who was not
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: concerned with the loss of an ex He was more
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: worried about the logistics.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: Of the money. Oh yes, oh yes. But in twenty thirteen,
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: guys Alani was arrested and charged with first degree murder
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: with the special circumstance of financial gain. Oh, he lost
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: the mustache. He initially denied the allegations and mounted a
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: vigorous legal defense. His attorneys argued issues of jurisdiction since
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: Mickey's body was recovered in Italy, and challenged the admissibility
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: of key evidence, but prosecutors held firm. Oh, they sure did.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: The combination of physical evidence from Mickey's autopsy, digital trails,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: emails and financial records, and testimonial evidence, particularly Bill's recordings,
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: created a solid foundation. NJOG ruled that California did have
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: jurisdiction because the planning and motive, especially the financial ones,
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: originated there. The legal proceedings dragged on for several years,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: with numerous delays and defense motions, of course, But you
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: probably didn't think all that through, didn't he guys? You
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: know what I found out are researching this. Hmm.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: If Double eight was to have planned this in Texas
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: and then did this to me, they would have gone
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: for the death penalty in Texas because you planned it
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: here in the state.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: It's an actual charge too.
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: But because in Texas you went across state and international
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: lines to create practice.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: Oh, that's the charges. Oh, I see what you're saying.
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: It's like automatic death. There would be no chance of
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: life without pearol, he would be he'd be a goner
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: because Texas puts them.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: They kill him. I mean, doubleh.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: As you're listening, you need to get a better plan.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Okay, oh my goodness.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: Now during the delays of the legal stuff, Lonnie, guys,
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: just buckle up. Okay, we already hating, but just get ready.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: Lannie tried to hire someone to kill Amy Yes so
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: that she could not testify against him.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Guys, I told you it was a piece of shit.
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: Now that someone was Lonnie's cellmate and another inmate with
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: gain connections, so that they could make her death like
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: a gang murder. The cellmate told his lawyer, and both
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: of the inmates recorded Lonnie when he talked to them.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: From then on.
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: They also set him up with a guy on the
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: outside who was actually a cop. But guys, thankfully, Lonnie
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: was stupid. He was smart, but he was stupid. This
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: plot was discovered and Lonnie was not successful. I mean,
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: he was intelligent, he graduated with honors.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: He was stupid. I in my opinion, I mean no,
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: it's real, real, friggin stupid. But you know that's that's a.
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: Long let's just hear because you're going to tell us
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: how even stupider he was.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Well, I mean he was successful though, in having two
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: counts of solution solicitation to commit murder and one count
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: of solicitation to bribe a witness added to his charges. Yeah,
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: could job Lonnie emailing it? See, he wanted the killer
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: to have Amy sign a letter saying that she had
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: lied to the police about Lonnie wanting to kill Mickey.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: After she signed, they were supposed to kill her. Sir,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, something anything else?
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: Seriously crazy? This guy was a successful, smart attorney, even
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: in finance face. An attorney of any type should have
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: known this wasn't the way to go.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I mean, there's always bad people at their jobs. Or
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: doesn't mean he was graduating all a's in law school
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: and got high marks on the bar exam, right, there's
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: got to be a lower level that he was a
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: good attorney.
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: I think greed clouded his judgments and then it just
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: if you back somebody into the wall. I think he
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: was trying anything he could. He was like, I'm already
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: going to get jail for life.
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: What's one more so in humorous yeah every time.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: By the time the trial finally began in twenty twenty,
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: the prosecution had a well organized and damning case. Guys
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: Bill testified at length, walking the jury through his taped
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: conversations with Lonnie, his meeting with Amy, and he had
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: to admit the moment he realized his friend had used
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: him as a cover for murder, and he went on
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: to recount Lonnie's tone in the recordings was void of
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: sorrow in field instead like we said, with legal stuff.
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: Amy's recorded confession was also played for the jury, delivering
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: a chilling first hand account of Lonnie's manipulation tactics and
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: his alleged attempts to make her Phil fear Beryl Eh
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: came and talk fear Bill himself. The wine just kicked in.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: That is great. I love it. That is him with
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: an amish beard. I was on mute. I'm sorry because
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: I had a train coming through. Yes, for some reason,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: this man can grow a mustache in the nineties, but
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: by twenty twenty only neck beard. So okay. Now. During
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: the trial, the prosecution laid out a clear timeline of premeditation.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: They presented forensic evidence, including the autopsy results showing strangulation
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: and lack of water in Mickey's lungs, proving she was
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: dead before she entered the sea. They also outlined Lonnie's
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: financial actions after her death, transferring to large sums of money,
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: purchasing property, and trying to consolidate assets previously in Nicky's
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: name Mickey's name. Most damning, however, were the recorded conversations
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: between Lonnie and Bill Price and Amy's confession, which revealed
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: Lonnie's calculated and cold demeanor and his attempts to manipulate
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: those closest to him.
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: Now, in July twenty twenty, after years of delays, twist
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: and all the investigative Breakthroughsannie thankfully was convicted of the
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: first degree murder of his ex wife, Mickey Kanasaki. After
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: just an hour of deliberations. The jury found that I
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: mean an hour.
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: That is not great. I mean an hour, guys.
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: But not only had he killed Lot or killed Mickey,
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: he had done so with these special circumstances of financial gain,
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: plotting her death in order to claim over a million
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: dollars in shared assets and life insurance. Now, guys, the
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: verdict mark the end of a case that had remained
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: unsolved for fourteen years, and offered long awaited justice to
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: Mickey's family, friends, and those who fought to uncover the
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: truth behind her death. Now, since Lonnie was sentenced to
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: life in prison without parole, the DA's office dropped the
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: additional charges for solicitation against Amy and bribing a witness.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: Good news. While he felt an appeal, he was denied.
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: He was sold sucking of.
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: Buttercups talking to no one.
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: Now, I mean, this judge that that is so not
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: a kind of looks a little a little bit like
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: Brian Cranston, Like Brian.
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: He definitely looks got a Cranston look. M hmmm. I
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: love it so for Mickey's loved ones, the conviction brought
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: a sense of closure, but of course not peace right.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: It never does. The brutal nature of her death and
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: the betrayal by someone she had once trusted, left scars
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: that no sense could erase. Friends described makee as independent, accomplished,
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: and kind, a woman who deserved more than to become
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: the target of a cold, calculated plot. And I agree,
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: I agree piece Mickey. And that's just so frustrating because
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: it just never needed to happen. I still don't. I still,
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: let's get into our closing thoughts real quick, you guys,
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: Because one, I still don't understand. He has a buttload
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: of money anyway, he has a lawyer. Why are you
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: doing this for a finance? Like I can't wrap my head.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: But he controlled her money anyway, so like what is
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: the point? And they're not even legally married, so it's
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: not like if he wanted to be with Amy, she
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: would I don't know.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: He could have just taken all of the money she
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: put him on the account. Yeah, I just he could
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: have just taken it all.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: There was no reason to kill her. I don't understand.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: I don't understand and listen to this guy obviously, I
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: think we can all agree he is just something else.
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: This guy. He thought he was so clever and smarter
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: than everyone else. But arrogance will get you every time,
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: for sure. And it sounds like Amy is lucky to
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: be alive. And I hope she is living a good
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: life now because I don't believe for a second she
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: ever wanted or thought or considered any thing that happened
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: in the first place. Because it's Lonnie and he's not
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: a very truthful guy in reality, right, I think a
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: real shout out to Bill because without him, Mickey probably
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: would never get the justice that she deserved.
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: And I agree with you. I hope Amy is Govin
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: living a good life because Lannie never loved her. I
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: personally wonder if he married her setting this plan up.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: They were only married for a couple of months, that's true,
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: and then he got her by property you. I mean,
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: I think it was a long term plan. Attorneys plan ahead.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: They have to try to plan or what if this happens?
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: To what if this happens? I think he set her
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: up from the beginning.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: Well, we know he is a man of strategy. We've
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: just talked about it for the last hour. Go to thinking.
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: I don't think he ever loved her. I don't it
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: too bad. All I can ever.
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: Say about Lonnie is that he was never an Alan Jackson.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: And I'm not talking about the country music star guys
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: he may.
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: Have wanted to be.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: When they say he was successful in LA, he was
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: not Alan Jackson successful in LA. Because I can just
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm just thinking, I'm guessing Alan Jackson
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: his house costs.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: More than a million dollars. Oh, can's just me?
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: That is just my two cents. But all I can
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: say about Lonnie is he sucks. They don't like him,
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: and he is exactly where he needs to be, and
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: I hope they take care of him.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: Every time he drops this soap, I'll just say, we
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: didn't really bring this up, but it is crazy. She
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: died into thousand and six this trial what twenty that
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: many years It took justice to get for Mickey, and
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: sometimes justice moves slow. And I know a lot of
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: people don't like that, but guess what, they got it
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: and they got it good.
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: I seek safe and I would rather them be slow
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: and do it right than rest to judgment like the Commonwealth.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: But guys, before we go, if you like what you

- 1:44:57Speaker 2: know me, and then she had to come in front
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: of the produce U Sir to hear why she needed
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: to do all of this.
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: And Lama and I will be there.
