Deputy Shoots Suspect in Summerville Burglary | Charleston News
A deadly confrontation erupted at a Sonny’s Marathon in Summerville, South Carolina, early Thursday morning when deputies responded to an armed burglary in progress. During the encounter, one deputy fired their weapon, fatally wounding the suspect. The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has handed over the investigation to SLED, and Sheriff Sam Richardson plans to release more details later today — including the identities of the deputy and the victim — which remain undisclosed for now.
