- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 0:23Speaker 1: a Hallmark of You podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a
- 0:26Speaker 1: longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Today we are starting the second semester of the Girls
- 0:31Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark Summer School series, and we are beginning our
- 0:35Speaker 1: reviews of Mistletone Murders, and we are starting with combining
- 0:39Speaker 1: episodes one in two Poison and a paratree Parts one
- 0:43Speaker 1: and two. A little more on that in a minute.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Hang out with us when the podcast is over. The
- 0:48Speaker 1: best place to find us first, it's probably Instagram, where
- 0:51Speaker 1: we are Girls Gone Homerk. Hey, we are on Facebook
- 0:54Speaker 1: in Facebook groups, in particular, if you are looking to
- 0:58Speaker 1: join a Hallmark friendly Facebook group with cool people who
- 1:03Speaker 1: like to talk Hallmark and they know their stuff over there. Yeah,
- 1:07Speaker 1: it's called Girls Gone Hallmark in Facebook groups. As mentioned,
- 1:12Speaker 1: just a quick schedule adjustment. We had initially planned to
- 1:15Speaker 1: review each episode of Mistletoe Murders separately, and then upon
- 1:19Speaker 1: watching them, we thought maybe that wasn't the best idea
- 1:22Speaker 1: because we realized I didn't know this ahead of time,
- 1:25Speaker 1: that each mystery spans two episodes yeah, I didn't know either,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and we thought we would just combine them and do
- 1:31Speaker 1: them kind of like a movie. So minor schedule adjustment. Yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 1: so this will only run for three weeks as opposed
- 1:39Speaker 1: to six weeks, right, so good episodes every other week. Oh,
- 1:44Speaker 1: is that what we're going to do? Oh? You want
- 1:46Speaker 1: to do them back to back? Yeah, I just figured
- 1:48Speaker 1: we would just drop them the first three weeks, the
- 1:50Speaker 1: first three Thursdays. Oh, interesting, okay, and then August we'll
- 1:53Speaker 1: just leave those Thursdays empty because you guys be kind
- 1:57Speaker 1: of scenes. August is busy. Well, it's busy, but we're
- 2:01Speaker 1: also preparing for the onslaught of Christmas content, so we're
- 2:10Speaker 1: going to take a little break. Great, let's start with
- 2:14Speaker 1: a synopsis. Christmas shop owner Emily Lane investigates a murder
- 2:20Speaker 1: at a tree farm. That's all I got. Missletow Murders
- 2:25Speaker 1: was created by Ken Cooperis, and he is credited with
- 2:28Speaker 1: writing the first two episodes of the series. He was
- 2:31Speaker 1: executive producer of the Mistletoe Murders podcast series, which the
- 2:34Speaker 1: TV was based on. He's also been a writer and
- 2:37Speaker 1: a producer on the Hallmark adjacent series Hudson and Rex
- 2:40Speaker 1: Hudson and Rex. There it Is Again. Grant and Harvey
- 2:43Speaker 1: directed the first two episodes of Mistletoe Murders for Hallmark.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Grant has also directed fourteen episodes of The Way Home.
- 2:51Speaker 1: His additional directing projects include Heartland and Orphan Black. The
- 2:57Speaker 1: One and Only. Sarah Drew plays Emily Lane, our shop
- 2:59Speaker 1: owner with a miss Siria's past. Sarah has fifty three
- 3:02Speaker 1: acting credits, including two hundred four episodes of Grey's Anatomy
- 3:05Speaker 1: as April Kepner. For Hallmarks, she has appeared in Branching
- 3:08Speaker 1: Out One Summer and Guiding Emily. Peter Mooney plays Detective
- 3:12Speaker 1: Sam Wilner. Peter must have big cop energy because among
- 3:16Speaker 1: his acting credits that was really Good Megan includes roles
- 3:20Speaker 1: like Ricky Blue and Burden of Truth. Sierra Marilyn Riley
- 3:25Speaker 1: plays teenager Violet Wilner. This was her very first acting
- 3:28Speaker 1: project and she has since appeared in the series Motorheads.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Kylie Evans plays town busybody Brook Carmichael. You might recognize
- 3:36Speaker 1: Kylie s Stephanie from the series Good Witch. Lara Amersay
- 3:40Speaker 1: plays June Hubble, murder suspect and Emily's best Sie. Lara
- 3:43Speaker 1: has had roles in Work and Moms, as well as
- 3:46Speaker 1: the Prime video series Cross David who Litt plays Ray,
- 3:50Speaker 1: the furniture sales person with a shady side hustle. David
- 3:54Speaker 1: has a deep resume. His longest running role was on
- 3:56Speaker 1: Stargate Atlantis, where he has appeared in ninety nine episodes.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Steve Lund plays Marcus Donovan. Steve was in all four
- 4:03Speaker 1: Hearts Around the Table movies and is appearing in season
- 4:05Speaker 1: three of Sullivan's Crossing. Mistletoe Murders is based on the
- 4:10Speaker 1: Audible original podcast by the same name. We are going
- 4:15Speaker 1: to take a quick break and we're gonna come right
- 4:17Speaker 1: back with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what is your
- 4:28Speaker 1: first impression of Mistletoe Murders? Quien in a pear Tree? Oh? Sorry,
- 4:32Speaker 1: this mystery did not come to play, and neither did
- 4:34Speaker 1: Emily Lane who My first impression is. I've heard the
- 4:38Speaker 1: term cozy mystery tossed around and I think Hallmark nailed
- 4:42Speaker 1: it here A great Can I tell you hold on
- 4:45Speaker 1: a second. I really want to make an edit. I
- 4:48Speaker 1: have to ask my seventeen year old how to exactly
- 4:50Speaker 1: do that, but I want to make an edit of
- 4:52Speaker 1: like Emily Lane to this song. Do you know what
- 4:58Speaker 1: I'm talking about? This? No? I did something bad by
- 5:01Speaker 1: Taylor Swift from their reputation. Oh, I think about while
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm watching this is like Emily has this sort of
- 5:09Speaker 1: like baddie energy. Yes, and I'm loving it. I love
- 5:15Speaker 1: love love. Let's talk about Sarah Drew and the character
- 5:21Speaker 1: she plays Emily's. First of all, I'm all in on
- 5:24Speaker 1: Sarah Drew. It was really the movie one Summer that
- 5:28Speaker 1: we recently reviewed that like was the tipping point for me. Yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 1: she's so good in Guiding Emily though. She is very good.
- 5:36Speaker 1: You're right, she's very good in that movie. Quite frankly
- 5:39Speaker 1: as April Kaeperner. Like, she's good. I didn't watch Grays
- 5:43Speaker 1: oh know her as that character at all. She's a
- 5:47Speaker 1: good actor. I have a suggestion for you new TikTok fanatic.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Just search April Kaepner on TikTok and you'll get some
- 5:54Speaker 1: of her iconic Gray's anatomy. I mean, she has this
- 5:59Speaker 1: heartbreaker the storyline. She's so good. Oh I'm excited, I will.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But she's so good in this. She's so good in this.
- 6:09Speaker 1: The way she delivers dialogue is like how you and
- 6:13Speaker 1: I would talk to each other. I feel like there's
- 6:16Speaker 1: she's of course, she's like natural and warm, but she's
- 6:18Speaker 1: just a little bit sarcastic too. And the way it's
- 6:22Speaker 1: delivered is like a chef's kiss. So good. Yeah, here's
- 6:25Speaker 1: one thing I like about her. Look, we are familiar
- 6:27Speaker 1: with this setup, right, We've got the cop Sam and
- 6:30Speaker 1: then we've got the amateur sleuth. But Emily Lane is
- 6:36Speaker 1: not your average Hallmark heroine. Yes, year, we know she's
- 6:40Speaker 1: got some sort of mystery past. She clearly knows her stuff.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I mean, look the hidden briefcase moment with the passports,
- 6:50Speaker 1: her lock picking skills, the explosion. I love her, and
- 6:55Speaker 1: I love that her character's got a lot of depth.
- 6:58Speaker 1: She's not just like I'm a Christmas tree shop owner
- 7:00Speaker 1: who happens to be crime a Jason, and I'm going
- 7:02Speaker 1: to solve this crime because it involves my friends. She
- 7:04Speaker 1: has a reason. Yes, So my notes about Emily Lane
- 7:10Speaker 1: are that I think she's Hallmark's most intriguing lead. Like ever,
- 7:16Speaker 1: oh uh huh. When I was watching it, I was like, Okay,
- 7:18Speaker 1: she's giving me alias energy. Yeah, we're that you know, Like,
- 7:23Speaker 1: of course, she's not a spy. I don't think she's
- 7:25Speaker 1: a spy, but like the lead character in Alias was
- 7:29Speaker 1: a spy, and like it's that sort of kind of like,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I mean that briefcase with the multiple passports is giving
- 7:34Speaker 1: spy something. And what I also find super intriguing is
- 7:39Speaker 1: is she hiding in plain sight here? I'm a Christmas
- 7:43Speaker 1: shop owner? Yeah, Like, what's the backstory here? I love it?
- 7:47Speaker 1: I love it so much. I haven't my notes that
- 7:51Speaker 1: she's not just like a nosy amateur sleuth here, Like
- 7:56Speaker 1: she brings a skill that we're not fully aware of yet.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's more Amy Winslow than Hannah Swinson. Yes, and I
- 8:07Speaker 1: love that. This is a good thing. Question are you
- 8:12Speaker 1: more anxious for the reveal of Emily's backstory or were
- 8:15Speaker 1: you more anxious for the Emily and the Amy and
- 8:18Speaker 1: Travis kiss. I'm more anxious to learn about Emily Lane's
- 8:26Speaker 1: backstory because and this is no shade to Mystery one
- 8:31Speaker 1: on one, I it was a series I really enjoyed.
- 8:35Speaker 1: But with that said, it was very Hallmark. Mistletoe Murders
- 8:39Speaker 1: to me feels elevated to a level of in quality terms,
- 8:45Speaker 1: similar to The Way Home. Production wise, director wise, like
- 8:49Speaker 1: that kind of level. And also I think that because
- 8:55Speaker 1: it's based off of a successful podcast, the storytelling was
- 9:00Speaker 1: already there. The storyteller is already there. But I also
- 9:03Speaker 1: I don't feel like they're trying to dumb anything down
- 9:06Speaker 1: for the audience. And sometimes I feel like Hallmark might
- 9:10Speaker 1: be a little watered down in terms, especially with the
- 9:14Speaker 1: mystery stuff. This felt different level to me. I think
- 9:19Speaker 1: one thing they do nicely is balancing the tone in
- 9:22Speaker 1: this movie, Like there is some sinister stuff, gambling, debts, blackmail,
- 9:27Speaker 1: shade business deals, and yet they balance it and they've
- 9:33Speaker 1: found the piece that makes it Hallmark. And I have
- 9:36Speaker 1: not listened to the podcast, but you have you know
- 9:39Speaker 1: your hot chocolate tastings. You have Emily runs this shop
- 9:43Speaker 1: that would go to business ten and a half months
- 9:45Speaker 1: out of the year, but still manages to be her
- 9:47Speaker 1: bread and butter somehow, And part of me is knowing
- 9:50Speaker 1: a little bit about her backstort, and like, is it
- 9:52Speaker 1: a front? Is it a sham? I don't think it is.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I think, you know, Hallmark is the only place where
- 9:58Speaker 1: this could work. But I think they are balancing the
- 10:02Speaker 1: mistletoe and the murder piece of it nicely. I agree,
- 10:07Speaker 1: and while watching this. You know, I'm not a huge
- 10:10Speaker 1: fan of Christmas, and I know it's called Missletoe Murders.
- 10:15Speaker 1: It feels to me like it's just operating like during
- 10:20Speaker 1: the holiday season. It's not like a part of this.
- 10:23Speaker 1: They're not bashing you over the head with it. Yes,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I it could stand alone, even if it removed the
- 10:30Speaker 1: holiday element from it. I agree. I imagine it's not
- 10:34Speaker 1: going to I imagine season two is going to pick
- 10:36Speaker 1: up during the holiday season sure as well. I really
- 10:41Speaker 1: enjoyed the story where we have all these clues the baseball,
- 10:47Speaker 1: Like all these clues start to reveal themselves, right, and
- 10:51Speaker 1: they're almost they're coming to Emily. I know she's out
- 10:56Speaker 1: in pursuit of information, but it's like these clues are
- 10:59Speaker 1: falling enter her lap a little bit like when she's
- 11:01Speaker 1: at the bank and she sees the baseball and then
- 11:03Speaker 1: she puts the name, the player names, the fake name together,
- 11:07Speaker 1: and when Lizzie comes in and Lizzie's looking for a
- 11:10Speaker 1: specific cookie and she's starting to put like the pieces
- 11:12Speaker 1: together of oh, Lizzie must have been with Marcus that night,
- 11:16Speaker 1: et cetera, et cetera. It's like enough to keep me
- 11:21Speaker 1: like interested, but I'm not like trying to piece it
- 11:24Speaker 1: together and put it together myself. I think a huge
- 11:26Speaker 1: piece of that is the voiceovers, because we don't have
- 11:29Speaker 1: to guess what she's thinking. She's like, oh, that means X,
- 11:32Speaker 1: Y and Z. I think one of our complaints about
- 11:34Speaker 1: mysteries is they give us so much information that sometimes
- 11:37Speaker 1: it is hard to follow. And because she is piecing
- 11:41Speaker 1: it together in her head and we hear that inner monologue,
- 11:44Speaker 1: it helps us keep up with what's going on. Yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 1: so you don't need the big like explanation at the
- 11:49Speaker 1: end of the episode. Yeah, yeah, I want to talk
- 11:52Speaker 1: about Violet the daughter Violet. Yeah, scene stiller for me.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I loved her she makes She has the line when
- 12:01Speaker 1: her dad comes into the Christmas shop and they're talking
- 12:04Speaker 1: about perhaps maybe a killer on the loose, and she says,
- 12:07Speaker 1: do I look like final girl material to you? I
- 12:10Speaker 1: just was like, I love the writing, I love this actor.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I can't believe this is like her first project. That
- 12:16Speaker 1: thought she was really good. She vibes nicely with the
- 12:20Speaker 1: guy that plays her dad, and she's a not She
- 12:25Speaker 1: doesn't feel the role of best friend and like obviously
- 12:27Speaker 1: Emily has like the best friend who gets in trouble
- 12:30Speaker 1: in this episode. She doesn't get in trouble but is
- 12:33Speaker 1: suspected in this episode. But she's you know, the sounding
- 12:38Speaker 1: board at work, yep, and it just works. Yeah, she
- 12:42Speaker 1: uses the line resting cop face great, it's great. I
- 12:45Speaker 1: love it, speaking of supporting character. Is a big fan
- 12:49Speaker 1: of Detective Sam. I like his dry wit, but it's
- 12:52Speaker 1: also balanced by the fact that he's really warm with
- 12:55Speaker 1: his daughter and very actively participating and trying to make
- 13:00Speaker 1: it so that like their life has changed, but her
- 13:02Speaker 1: life doesn't have to. And then takes the chance to
- 13:05Speaker 1: listen to her when she's like, look, we can adapt,
- 13:08Speaker 1: we don't need our life doesn't need to be a
- 13:10Speaker 1: carbon copy of what it was before, and he hears
- 13:13Speaker 1: her and adapts to what she needs. And obviously you
- 13:18Speaker 1: see him kind of warming to Emily and the skills
- 13:22Speaker 1: that she brings, like he's mildly annoyed that she's running
- 13:24Speaker 1: her own investigation, as he should be, quite frankly, but acknowledges,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you know, the help that she's offering kind of softens
- 13:35Speaker 1: towards her. Obviously we see where this is headed. I'm
- 13:37Speaker 1: really enjoying Detective Sam. I agree with you he's attractive.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I don't love the trope of I'm annoyed at this
- 13:51Speaker 1: amateur sluice story. And maybe it's just because we've watched
- 13:56Speaker 1: a lot of mysteries. Yeah, but she also stops in
- 13:59Speaker 1: and she's like, give me this information. He's like, get
- 14:01Speaker 1: the heck. Yeah here, No, I agree. I love when
- 14:04Speaker 1: he clocks he and he's like, not all investigations are
- 14:07Speaker 1: an aga, agatha, christie, you know, story or whatever. Yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 1: except bro, you're living in one. Yeah, exactly exactly. My
- 14:16Speaker 1: final like is and we talked about at the top
- 14:20Speaker 1: this two episode arc. Very smart move, yes, so smart.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I love it, and it ties in with my final link.
- 14:29Speaker 1: The final scene we get that kind of wraps up
- 14:32Speaker 1: all of these storylines. It's told without dialogue. Lizzie's telling
- 14:36Speaker 1: Tren the truth. We see Gordon waking up in the hospital,
- 14:39Speaker 1: Sam and Violet doing their career. Like we're wrapping up
- 14:41Speaker 1: all these storylines. Emily and June are at the bar,
- 14:43Speaker 1: Emily exchanged gifts with Ray. Uh you know, it gives
- 14:49Speaker 1: us like closure, but then opens the door to the
- 14:52Speaker 1: next thing. Yeah, I'm curious to see because I have
- 14:55Speaker 1: not watched episode three yet. Do we get new characters
- 15:00Speaker 1: introduced at all, we would have to because I can't
- 15:03Speaker 1: imagine that to the d this pool of people are
- 15:06Speaker 1: not gonna have another murder. Yeah, I would hope not. So. Yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I imagine we'll still see June. Right. Our best friend
- 15:16Speaker 1: Tom Kavanaugh joins the cast in season two. I think, oh,
- 15:20Speaker 1: in season two? Is that what it is? I think?
- 15:22Speaker 1: So okay? Interesting, that feels like heavyweight. Yeah, who has
- 15:26Speaker 1: a lot of experience. We didn't talk about it, but
- 15:32Speaker 1: the character of Ray and I put this on our
- 15:34Speaker 1: Instagram stories. Yeah, there are a few of you who
- 15:38Speaker 1: knew what I was referencing. But is he not Jonesy
- 15:41Speaker 1: from Beverly Hills nine. As soon as you said it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: As soon as you said it, I was like, shady side, hushole,
- 15:48Speaker 1: good guy, maybe doing some not so good things. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 1: I loved it. I loved it too. I loved it.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I really like him. Let's talk, let's talk wishes. I
- 16:03Speaker 1: are very few. Yeah, me too. My first one is
- 16:08Speaker 1: it's kind of a yes I do, but no, I don't.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I want more information about Emily's backstory, But then again
- 16:16Speaker 1: I don't. I'm like, give it to me. Just in breadcrumbs.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It makes it more enjoyable that way. So yeah, I
- 16:23Speaker 1: mean that final scene in the first episode where they
- 16:26Speaker 1: show the flashback to her all in black and the
- 16:28Speaker 1: explosion behind her, Like, that's great, that's super interesting. It
- 16:32Speaker 1: was the end of the episode two when she like
- 16:34Speaker 1: pulls out that, Yeah, the gift from Jonesy it's verg gun, right,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I know that's what it's my wishes too, Like what
- 16:42Speaker 1: is it? Is it a gun? Is it a burner phone?
- 16:45Speaker 1: I don't know? Yeah, what is it? I don't know.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I'm dying to know, but I feel like a gun's
- 16:50Speaker 1: too obvious and what could it be? I don't know.
- 16:55Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm really enjoying her backstory. I'm enjoying the
- 16:58Speaker 1: slow reveal. Another thing I want more of. I want
- 17:04Speaker 1: more Brooke and more Sue. I'll be shocked if we
- 17:07Speaker 1: don't find Brooke Carmichael at the center of one of
- 17:08Speaker 1: these mysteries this season. She plays the perfect little town
- 17:12Speaker 1: busy by. We didn't really get enough of her in
- 17:15Speaker 1: my opinion, in these first two episodes, but they do
- 17:18Speaker 1: set her up nicely to be kind of getting in
- 17:20Speaker 1: the middle of something sticky coming up. I thought so too,
- 17:24Speaker 1: so I also like Sue, you know, the diner owner.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I think she could be involved in a bigger way
- 17:32Speaker 1: as well. I like her. She's real funny, she's real dry.
- 17:35Speaker 1: So here's the thing that we see in a lot
- 17:36Speaker 1: of mysteries, and that is that the murder is someone
- 17:39Speaker 1: who often we don't know a lot about. Not always
- 17:43Speaker 1: the case, but sometimes they'll introduce this character and then
- 17:47Speaker 1: we won't see them or they'll be like really peripheral,
- 17:50Speaker 1: and so we don't suspect them. And they did that
- 17:53Speaker 1: in this case, and it's Rowan, And I felt sometimes
- 17:57Speaker 1: I find like it's maybe maybe too easy, Like it
- 18:03Speaker 1: felt a little bit like he came out of nowhere,
- 18:05Speaker 1: Like I did feel like he was suspicious from the moment. Yeah,
- 18:08Speaker 1: he shines her in the woods. Yeah, but we don't
- 18:11Speaker 1: get enough about him until we, you know, discover that
- 18:13Speaker 1: he's sleeping in the loft and all of that. So
- 18:16Speaker 1: you just came out of nowhere. Do you wish it
- 18:18Speaker 1: was somebody more obvious, maybe somebody who is like a
- 18:22Speaker 1: bigger player in the maybe in the story. Yeah, yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 1: I hear you, I hear you. That's it. Well, let's talk.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Did you see that moment I have to okay, And
- 18:35Speaker 1: they're not typical. Did you see that? They were just
- 18:38Speaker 1: stand out moments. Yeah. Same. The first one is when
- 18:45Speaker 1: Emily is pressing Anna the daughter about your dad is
- 18:52Speaker 1: tech challenge. He wouldn't know how to send an anonymous
- 18:55Speaker 1: and it's a really it's an acting choice that at
- 19:01Speaker 1: Sarah Drew makes like she's asking her a question, and
- 19:05Speaker 1: then she goes like this with her eyes, like and
- 19:08Speaker 1: you guys obviously were on a like an audio podcast
- 19:11Speaker 1: that I just did. But her I said, go ahead
- 19:15Speaker 1: answer me. You don't have any answer. I just thought
- 19:17Speaker 1: it was a really good, good scene. What do you
- 19:19Speaker 1: have to say to that? Yeah, it was just so good.
- 19:21Speaker 1: She just like it's almost like when you like make
- 19:25Speaker 1: oh my dams are so long, when you like make
- 19:27Speaker 1: a person flinch, like, yeah, you know what I mean.
- 19:30Speaker 1: It just it was really good. It was really good.
- 19:33Speaker 1: The other scene has to do also with Emily, and
- 19:37Speaker 1: it's when she's confronted with Rowan up in the barn
- 19:40Speaker 1: rafters and Rowan says, you shouldn't have come up here,
- 19:46Speaker 1: and she Emily looks possessed to me in this moment,
- 19:49Speaker 1: and she's like, he says, you shouldn't be here, and
- 19:53Speaker 1: she says I should say the same thing to you,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and she like goes for him, and then that's when
- 19:57Speaker 1: she crashes through the rafters. I was like, what is happening?
- 20:01Speaker 1: I need to know the backstory of this baddie. Yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 1: that's great, because what's funny is that? See? To me,
- 20:08Speaker 1: the remarkable theme to me was the fall was so good.
- 20:11Speaker 1: It was so well executed, the way she hits the
- 20:13Speaker 1: ground and comes out of that. But you're right, it's
- 20:16Speaker 1: like we're starting to get a hint of who she
- 20:18Speaker 1: is and what she's capable of, but she's interrupted by
- 20:21Speaker 1: the floor giving away. That's great. Yeah, you know, like you,
- 20:26Speaker 1: there's not a lot of real digit see that moments
- 20:28Speaker 1: for me. But I would like to say one thing
- 20:29Speaker 1: I noticed. I found the inside of Ray's office to
- 20:32Speaker 1: be very incongruous with the outside. Like his office is
- 20:35Speaker 1: very nice, it's well appointed, it's clean, everything's organized. The
- 20:38Speaker 1: front of his building is like dilapidated and falling down.
- 20:42Speaker 1: You know, this discount furniture is kind of like a
- 20:45Speaker 1: front for whatever other shady dealings he's got going on.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I just found the two to be an interesting contrast
- 20:51Speaker 1: to each other? Interesting? Is he running guns through his business?
- 20:55Speaker 1: Is that what's happening? Guns and passports? And I don't know.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I don't know because to me, I'm like, he's kind
- 21:01Speaker 1: of like the bad guy with a heart of goal. Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Like when he talks to Emily and he's like, how
- 21:06Speaker 1: did you know what I was into? And she says
- 21:07Speaker 1: game recognizes game and he goes, I don't know what
- 21:10Speaker 1: that means, but I'll take it like he just he
- 21:13Speaker 1: doesn't give me like sinister, you need to be afraid
- 21:16Speaker 1: of me bad guy vibes. I'm afraid of Emily. Yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: that's who I'm afraid of. Yeah, I'm like, please, don't
- 21:23Speaker 1: be like a terrible bad person that I can't. You
- 21:25Speaker 1: know that show you were oh uh huh, Joe Goldberg
- 21:30Speaker 1: is a murderer, but you're like, I'm enamored with Joe
- 21:33Speaker 1: the murderer because he's so charming. Yes, I'm like, is
- 21:36Speaker 1: that what's going to happen with Emily here? Or is
- 21:38Speaker 1: she going to be like a Robin Hood situation? I
- 21:43Speaker 1: don't know. Hey, what did you rate this first two episodes?
- 21:46Speaker 1: I gave it four point seven five stars. I gave
- 21:50Speaker 1: it five stars. Acknowledging that my patients for Emily's backstory
- 21:54Speaker 1: and the Emily and Sam Slowburn might run out, but
- 21:59Speaker 1: evaluating the too in a vacuum, thought it was great,
- 22:04Speaker 1: so good. I haven't told my husband. I was like
- 22:07Speaker 1: numerous times, I go, this is really good. This is
- 22:10Speaker 1: really really good. Uh huh, he won't watch it. No,
- 22:14Speaker 1: my husband wasn't interested in watching it either, but I
- 22:16Speaker 1: was like, I think you'd like it. Hey, thank you
