- 0:16Speaker 2: Oliver Peterson six PR Perth Life Presenters with us Ella
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oli get a header, mate, what's going on with your
- 0:21Speaker 2: property prices?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Yeah? They're good, aren't they?
- 0:23Speaker 4: If you live in Perth where I live, then guess
- 0:25Speaker 4: what you are doing so well? In fact that they've
- 0:28Speaker 4: risen more than what the average income here is in Australia.
- 0:32Speaker 4: So the average income or the median full time salary
- 0:35Speaker 4: in Australia is eighty eighty four hundred bucks. But in
- 0:38Speaker 4: Perth our property prices have risen by more than one
- 0:41Speaker 4: hundred thousand dollars this year.
- 0:42Speaker 3: So say you light a head.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Up, So now the kids are going to get angry
- 0:47Speaker 2: because now they can't afford houses. You know that's happening.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Ah, spot on.
- 0:50Speaker 4: And if you live over here like genuinely, we have
- 0:53Speaker 4: been under one percent rental availability now for five years.
- 0:58Speaker 4: The number of properties on market, so balance market in
- 1:00Speaker 4: Perth is considered twelve thousand properties for sale and we
- 1:03Speaker 4: hover it between about three thousand and four thousand a week.
- 1:06Speaker 3: It is super scary, Like you have home opens.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Here every week, where one hundred and twenty families go
- 1:11Speaker 4: through them like it is absolutely there's nothing good in that. Ultimately,
- 1:15Speaker 4: there is nothing good in that at all, and no
- 1:16Speaker 4: one wants to tackle it properly. The cost, particularly over
- 1:19Speaker 4: where I am Western Australia, the cost of construction is
- 1:22Speaker 4: even so much higher than it is on the Eastern
- 1:24Speaker 4: Seaboard for so many obvious reasons. Plus the number of
- 1:27Speaker 4: migrants moving into Australia, particularly Wa because everybody knows how
- 1:31Speaker 4: good it is.
- 1:32Speaker 3: We've even got the Bears.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Obviously kicking off in about a year and a half's
- 1:35Speaker 4: time or should I call it the Quackers Heather and
- 1:38Speaker 4: everyone just wants.
- 1:38Speaker 3: To be in Wa.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, because it's a great place.
- 1:41Speaker 1: That's why.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Now Susan Lee, why is she out the doors?
- 1:46Speaker 4: Because she has no policy platforms on anything, She does
- 1:52Speaker 4: not stand for anything, and while the Liberal Party and
- 1:56Speaker 4: the National Party are tearing each other apart, she is
- 2:00Speaker 4: just a sitting duck at the moment and she really
- 2:02Speaker 4: needs to come out with something. I think there was
- 2:04Speaker 4: a misstep last week as well, attacking the PM's T
- 2:07Speaker 4: shirt when he stepped off the plane Joy Division T shirt.
- 2:09Speaker 4: I think ultimately people should have been questioning why was
- 2:11Speaker 4: the PM coming off an aeroplane wearing a T shirt
- 2:14Speaker 4: when he's on business.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I was told, I was told that he'd ask that
- 2:18Speaker 2: no media film him because he did.
- 2:20Speaker 4: But he knew what he was doing and he knew
- 2:22Speaker 4: it would leak. And I'll tell you why he did it,
- 2:24Speaker 4: because ultimately he wants to send that message back to
- 2:27Speaker 4: the left and the hardcore lefties of the Labor Party.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Though I'm still one of you boys and girls, even
- 2:33Speaker 4: though I've just been with Trump, you know, sitting in
- 2:35Speaker 4: his office maybe looking as though I was, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 4: the puppet and I was having a good giggle, I'm
- 2:40Speaker 4: still a big member of the left of the Labor Party.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So he knew it was enjoy division T shirt a
- 2:45Speaker 2: signal that you're a lifty.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Because it signals to you know, his hardcore members of
- 2:49Speaker 3: the lesson the Labor Party.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Correct, Well, I just think it's signals that he's a
- 2:53Speaker 2: try hard.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Well that too, is that?
- 2:56Speaker 4: But all these Australian pms do go back to Howard
- 2:58Speaker 4: right used to walk around the streets around the Wallaby
- 3:00Speaker 4: track suit.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Well that's a lot cooler, isn't it.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Is it? Is it cooler? He's got beaten by England
- 3:06Speaker 3: on the weekend.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But Walla were cool then, weren't they enjoyed a vision
- 3:11Speaker 2: like a man of his age sixty three wearing a
- 3:12Speaker 2: Joy Division T shirt.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It's just really try hard.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Well, we had Metallica here on the weekend. What do
- 3:17Speaker 4: you want to me in a Metallica T shirt?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Nah? Well, you know, look, we've had a big discussion
- 3:21Speaker 2: on the show about this. We've just reached the conclusion
- 3:23Speaker 2: while I have that men of his age should just
- 3:26Speaker 2: stick to basic white T shirts.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Well, or how to collar? What about a collar or
- 3:31Speaker 3: a collar?
- 3:31Speaker 1: You could do?
- 3:32Speaker 4: That?
- 3:32Speaker 2: You could do daggy dad collar. Listen, tell me how
- 3:34Speaker 2: this and the Senate hearing is going to go for
- 3:36Speaker 2: the opt to CEO.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Not good, but it never was going to be. This
- 3:39Speaker 3: is a show trial. He's appeared before the inquiry this morning.
- 3:43Speaker 4: They've been questioning him whether that information provided to Anika
- 3:45Speaker 4: Will's the Communications Minister was misleading. Now he was asked
- 3:49Speaker 4: with those initial notifications disingenuous even only referred to about
- 3:53Speaker 4: ten calls and there obviously dozens and dozens of calls.
- 3:55Speaker 4: He said it was inaccurate it was not dishonest and
- 3:57Speaker 4: he's apologized. Look that the government and the opposition for
- 4:01Speaker 4: that matter as well, still probably looking for really his
- 4:03Speaker 4: head on the chopping block.
- 4:04Speaker 3: He's lost his CIO, he's lost his CFO.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I don't think Stephen Rue will be leaving OP this,
- 4:10Speaker 4: and he's a fairly new CEO in that position anyway,
- 4:13Speaker 4: having already led the NBN. But this will, as I say,
- 4:16Speaker 4: be a bit of a show troll. You never want
- 4:17Speaker 4: to see this happen again, absolutely, you don't, but I
- 4:20Speaker 4: don't think it will achieve much more than a bit
- 4:22Speaker 4: of grandstanding.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Got on your ollien.
- 4:23Speaker 3: It's good to talk to you.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Look after yourself.
