- 0:02Only a while at first, these heavenlier states, these large,
- 0:06wide, poised upliftings, could endure.
- 0:10The high and luminous tension breaks too soon the body's stone
- 0:15stillness and the life's hushed trance, the breathless might and
- 0:20calm of silent mind. Or slowly they fail.
- 0:24As sets a golden day, the restless nether members tire of
- 0:30peace, a nostalgia of old little works and joys.
- 0:35A need to call back small familiar selves to tread the
- 0:39accustomed and inferior way. The need to rest in a natural
- 0:44pose of fall as a child who learns to walk can walk not long
- 0:51replace the Titan will forever to climb on the heart's altar,
- 0:55dim the sacred fire, An old pull of subconscious chords renews
- 1:02it, draws the unwilling spirit from the heights or a dull
- 1:06gravitation drags us down to the blind driven inertia of our
- 1:11base. This too the Supreme Diplomat
- 1:15can use. He makes our fall a means for
- 1:19greater rise, for into ignorant nature's gusty field into the
- 1:25half ordered chaos of mortal life.
- 1:29The formless power the self of eternal light follow in the
- 1:34shadow of the Spirit's descent the twin duality for everyone
- 1:40chooses its home mid the tumults of the scents.
- 1:44He comes unseen into our darker parts and curtained by the
- 1:49darkness does his work. A subtle and all knowing guest
- 1:54and guide till they too feel the need and will to change.
- 2:01All here must learn to obey a higher law.
- 2:05Our body cells must hold the immortal's flame, else would the
- 2:10spirit reach alone its source, leaving 1/2 saved world to its
- 2:15dubious fate. Nature would ever labor
- 2:18unredeemed. Our earth would ever spin
- 2:21unhelped in space, and this immense creation's purpose fail,
- 2:27till at last the frustrate universe sank, undone, Even his
- 2:33God like strength to rise must fall.
- 2:36His greater consciousness withdrew behind, dim and
- 2:41eclipsed. His human outside strove to feel
- 2:45again. The old sublimities bring the
- 2:48high saving touch. The ethereal flame call back to
- 2:52its dire need, the divine force. Always the power poured back
- 2:58like sudden rain, or slowly in his breast a presence grew.
- 3:04It clamoured back to some remembered height, or soared
- 3:08above the peak from which it fell.
- 3:12Each time he rose there was a larger poise, a dwelling on a
- 3:16higher spirit plane. The light remained in him, a
- 3:20longer space in this oscillation between earth and heaven.
- 3:27In this ineffable Communion's climb, there grew in him as
- 3:31grows A waxing moon, the glory of the integer of his soul, a
- 3:37union of the real with the unique, a gaze of the alone from
- 3:42every face. The presence of the eternal in
- 3:45the hours widening the mortal mind's half look on things,
- 3:50bridging the gap between man's force and fate, made whole the
- 3:56fragment. Being we are here at last was
- 4:00one a firm spiritual poise, a constant lodging in the
- 4:05eternal's realm, a safety in the silence and the ray, a
- 4:11settlement in the immutable. His heights of being lived in
- 4:17the still self. His mind could rest on a
- 4:21supernal ground and look down on the magic and the play, where
- 4:27the God Child lies on the lap of night and dawn and the
- 4:31everlasting puts on time's disguise.
- 4:35To the still heights and to the troubled depths.
- 4:40His equal spirit gave its vast ascent A poised serenity of
- 4:45tranquil strength, a wide, unshaken look on time's unrest.
- 4:51Faced all experience with unaltered peace, indifferent to
- 4:56the sorrow and delight, untempted by the marvel and the
- 5:01call, immobile, it beheld the flux of things calm and apart,
- 5:07supported all that is his spirit.
- 5:11Stillness helped the toiling world.
- 5:15Inspired by silence and the closed eyes sight, his force
- 5:20could work with a new luminous art on the crude material from
- 5:24which all is made, and the refusal of Inertia's mass and
- 5:30the grey front of the world's ignorance and nessient matter,
- 5:35and the huge error of life. As a sculptor Chisels, a deity
- 5:40out of stone. He slowly chipped off the dark
- 5:44envelope line of defense of nature's ignorance, the illusion
- 5:50and mystery of the Inconscient, in whose black Paul the Eternal
- 5:56wraps his head that he may act unknown in cosmic time, a
- 6:02splendor of self, creation from the peaks, a transfiguration in
- 6:07the Mystic depths, A happier cosmic working could begin and
- 6:12fashion the world's shape in him anew, God found in nature,
- 6:17nature fulfilled, In God Already in him was seen that task of
- 6:23power. Life made its home on the high
- 6:26tops of self. His soul, mind, heart became a
- 6:31single sun. Only life's lower reaches
- 6:35remained dim. But there too, in the uncertain
- 6:40shadow of life, there was a labor and a fiery breath.
- 6:45The ambiguous cowled celestial puissance worked.
- 6:49Watched by the inner witnesses, moveless peace.
- 6:54Even on the struggling nature left below strong periods of
- 6:59illumination came lightnings of glory after glory burned.
- 7:04Experience was a tale of blaze and fire ere rippled round the
- 7:09argosies of the gods. Strange riches sailed to him
- 7:14from the unseen. Splendors of insight filled the
- 7:17blank of thought. Knowledge spoke to the
- 7:20inconscient stillnesses. Rivers poured down of bliss and
- 7:27luminous force visits of beauty. Storm sweeps of delight reigned
- 7:34from the all powerful mystery above.
- 7:38Thence stooped the Eagles of omniscience.
- 7:42A dense veil was rent, a mighty whisper heard repeated in the
- 7:47privacy of his soul. A wisdom cry from rapt
- 7:52transcendences sang on the mountains of an unseen world.
- 7:57The voices that an inner listening hears conveyed to him
- 8:01their prophet. Utterances and flame wrapped
- 8:05outbursts of the Immortal word, and flashes of an occult
- 8:10revealing light approached him from the unreachable secrecy.
- 8:17An inspired knowledge sat enthroned within, whose seconds
- 8:22illumined more than reason's years.
- 8:25An ictus of revealing luster fell as if a pointing accent
- 8:30upon truth, and like a sky flare showing all the ground, a swift
- 8:35intuitive discernment shown. One could separate the true and
- 8:40false, or raise its rapid torch fire in the dark to check the
- 8:46claimants crowding through mines.
- 8:47Gates, covered by the forged signatures of the gods detect
- 8:53the magic bride in her disguise were scanned the apparent face
- 8:59of thought and life.
