- 1:53Speaker 3: She of the fifty six district Democrat here in Kanawha County,
- 1:58Speaker 3: and well, her name's been in the news quite a
- 1:59Speaker 3: lot here as some of the battles have gone on
- 2:03Speaker 3: under the Capitol. Yesterday we had Delegate jb Acres on
- 2:07Speaker 3: the show and so Delegate Kayly Young wanted to respond
- 2:10Speaker 3: to some of those things, so we said, sure, come
- 2:12Speaker 3: on in. All types are welcome here. So Kaylee Young
- 2:15Speaker 3: will be on the show coming up a little bit
- 2:16Speaker 3: later on on the show. Also, it is day three
- 2:19Speaker 3: of the Girls Stay Basketball Tournament of the Kylie Semen
- 2:21Speaker 3: Convention Center. Daytime action can be heard on Charleston's ESPN
- 2:24Speaker 3: Radio and of course the night time action here on
- 2:27Speaker 3: the w COHS network of stations. And there's a lot
- 2:32Speaker 3: of things in the news I want to get to
- 2:33Speaker 3: as well. And plus, you know, I've had a lot
- 2:35Speaker 3: of guests the last couple of days, so I really
- 2:37Speaker 3: haven't had an opportunity to get to all the text
- 2:39Speaker 3: and phone calls I want to. So it's been the
- 2:41Speaker 3: last twenty minutes so of the show, just on you,
- 2:45Speaker 3: your text, your comments. Yesterday I spent a little time
- 2:50Speaker 3: with a veterans project, as I do from time to time.
- 2:52Speaker 3: You know, it's kind of kind kind of my thing. Well,
- 2:55Speaker 3: today we're going to continue on that. This was something
- 2:57Speaker 3: totally different. Today you may or may not have known.
- 3:00Speaker 3: This probably didn't. Today is National Canine Veterans Day. Now
- 3:04Speaker 3: there's an organization called War dog guardians and they rescue
- 3:08Speaker 3: abandoned K nine vets and turn and then in turn
- 3:11Speaker 3: pair them with veterans. Cassie Miller is the head of
- 3:14Speaker 3: the group. She joins us now, welcome to the show.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Cassie, Thanks Dave, thanks for having me.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Thank you for being here. This is National Canine Veterans Day.
- 3:21Speaker 3: As I said, I spent some time on the show
- 3:22Speaker 3: yesterday talking about some some veterans things with Calvin Griham.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I think sometimes though a lot of people present company,
- 3:29Speaker 3: included myself, forget our canine friends and soldiers in that area.
- 3:34Speaker 6: Yeah, the canines are truly the forgotten veterans. We see
- 3:38Speaker 6: a lot of commercials for helping veterans and it's at
- 3:41Speaker 6: Noble calls.
- 3:42Speaker 5: But this is a twofold.
- 3:45Speaker 6: It's a mutually beneficial relationship to getting a dog with
- 3:48Speaker 6: a veteran. So we're helping the canines and the humans, and.
- 3:52Speaker 3: I think anything we could do to help out our veterans,
- 3:54Speaker 3: my listeners know that I am all for that. So
- 3:57Speaker 3: how did you get involved in this.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Traveling is date.
- 4:00Speaker 6: I met a dog trainer out of Martinsburg who trains dogs.
- 4:04Speaker 6: She has war dogs. We just we generically call them
- 4:08Speaker 6: war dogs. She was a contractor who trained dogs for
- 4:11Speaker 6: the military. And you know, you see the gaps when
- 4:15Speaker 6: you travel all over and learn about what's going on
- 4:17Speaker 6: in the state or the military. So we saw these gaps.
- 4:20Speaker 6: I have a friend who actually adopted two dogs from her.
- 4:23Speaker 6: And when you adopt a dog from us, you don't
- 4:25Speaker 6: pay anything. We vet you, We make sure you're the
- 4:28Speaker 6: right person for the dog, and we spend a lot
- 4:31Speaker 6: of time up to a year with these dogs. We
- 4:33Speaker 6: make sure they're the right the right fit for you.
- 4:35Speaker 5: And your home.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to ask how that process works,
- 4:38Speaker 3: I mean, how you.
- 4:38Speaker 6: Use It's a long, expensive process. I mean, we've rescued
- 4:40Speaker 6: dogs from overseas. We've rescued dogs from shelters. Sometimes they
- 4:44Speaker 6: end up in shelters in Texas and Colorado where there's
- 4:46Speaker 6: big military installations. In Florida because it's it's it's there's
- 4:51Speaker 6: a lot of loopholes where the dogs can fall through
- 4:53Speaker 6: the holes. So so we rescue those dogs. We bring
- 4:56Speaker 6: them back to West Virginia and the Martinsburg area with
- 4:59Speaker 6: their house. There, they're trained, they're they're engaging with other dogs,
- 5:02Speaker 6: they're engaging with kids, they're engaging with families, and they're
- 5:07Speaker 6: they're in cars. They they're these dogs are super happy
- 5:09Speaker 6: in cars. They're used to kind of like waiting around
- 5:12Speaker 6: in cars. They usually go everywhere with a veteran. So
- 5:14Speaker 6: so we really rehabilitate them back to quote unquote civilian life.
- 5:18Speaker 3: It's it's an amazing program. I mean, it really really happened.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Give me, give me a ballpark number of how many
- 5:25Speaker 3: how many folks or how many dogs or however you
- 5:27Speaker 3: want to do it, are are impacted by this program?
- 5:29Speaker 3: How many of we talking about here ballpark?
- 5:31Speaker 6: Well, uh, our trainer rescued over one hundred and fifty
- 5:34Speaker 6: from overseas a couple of years ago.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And what is that process? There's a lot, see because
- 5:38Speaker 3: I got all kinds of questions. Yeah, what what's that
- 5:41Speaker 3: process like and rescuing, Well.
- 5:42Speaker 6: It's it's finding money, finding donors to to uh contact
- 5:47Speaker 6: overseas and usually it's a military contact that we find.
- 5:51Speaker 6: And we have contacts with organizations in all fifty states
- 5:55Speaker 6: because there's only a few actual you know, rescues like
- 6:00Speaker 6: ours that do this in the country. So so we're
- 6:02Speaker 6: just getting our under our feet, you know, up and running.
- 6:05Speaker 6: We were approved by the I r s to be
- 6:07Speaker 6: a five oh one C three. We're having our first
- 6:08Speaker 6: fundraiser this year, so we've got to get some money
- 6:12Speaker 6: in to fund these this travel for these dogs, get
- 6:15Speaker 6: them back up to us Virginia, rehold them, we get
- 6:19Speaker 6: them into the vet.
- 6:21Speaker 5: We sometimes they have skin issues.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Sometimes they have battle scars, you know, let alone emotional
- 6:26Speaker 6: battle scars.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Can say I mean I would PTSD, I would think
- 6:29Speaker 3: would yeah say very easily at them.
- 6:31Speaker 7: They do.
- 6:31Speaker 6: And they're very connected when we get them with a veteran,
- 6:34Speaker 6: they're very connected. I ran into a veteran in Martinsburg
- 6:37Speaker 6: that said, uh, the dog has changed my life. And
- 6:41Speaker 6: we were at a restaurant. He said, the dog's actually
- 6:43Speaker 6: in my car waiting for me. Yeah, so it's changed
- 6:45Speaker 6: your life. I gave you a palm card there. It's
- 6:47Speaker 6: got a quote from a Vietnam veteran on there that
- 6:49Speaker 6: has one of our dogs, and it.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Just frets and read this. The companionship and love I
- 6:55Speaker 3: get from him have changed my life. The love and
- 6:58Speaker 3: loyalty you have given to Dakota and Dakota has given
- 7:00Speaker 3: to me has given me another reason to be happy.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Thank you, Craig Gustafson, who's a guardian to war dog Dakota.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Yeah, yep, Vietnam vet. Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's awesome.
- 7:12Speaker 5: It's awesome.
- 7:12Speaker 6: I mean, you know, my granddad had two Bronze stars
- 7:15Speaker 6: in World War Two. My other granddad didn't get called
- 7:19Speaker 6: up until after the war and he was guarding Germans
- 7:24Speaker 6: in prison, so you know, when they come home, they
- 7:28Speaker 6: didn't talk about it. I never heard my grandparent fathers
- 7:30Speaker 6: talk about war, and my parents say that they never
- 7:33Speaker 6: they never talked about it. So the trauma they experience,
- 7:37Speaker 6: so war's different now, and it's it's vicious that it's
- 7:41Speaker 6: and it's chaotic, and I can't imagine, you know, doing
- 7:45Speaker 6: that but coming home and having you know, just going
- 7:48Speaker 6: back to your family life or having no one to
- 7:49Speaker 6: relate to.
- 7:50Speaker 5: But if we can pair these people with a dog that's.
- 7:53Speaker 6: Been there, that's seen it, and the loyalty, the dogs
- 7:56Speaker 6: are fiercely loyal and it's something about a veteran and
- 8:00Speaker 6: that they are just deeply connected to.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I mean, I think it's amazing and it's often and
- 8:06Speaker 3: I'm an animal lover. People listen to the show know that,
- 8:08Speaker 3: and you know, I think sometimes we don't deserve dogs.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Whatever your preferred pet is, dogs in this case, we
- 8:15Speaker 3: don't deserve them because they and they pick up on
- 8:18Speaker 3: things that we as humans don't pick up on.
- 8:22Speaker 5: They can feel the weather change before we even know it. Sure,
- 8:24Speaker 5: I mean they're.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Taking farmer about that.
- 8:26Speaker 5: They'll tell you that exactly, or they.
- 8:28Speaker 8: Know you're sick.
- 8:29Speaker 6: They know you're sick, or they know another pet in
- 8:31Speaker 6: the house is sick before you know, before you pick
- 8:34Speaker 6: up on the skills. But you know, the canines did
- 8:37Speaker 6: not get into the military until nineteen forty two, and
- 8:39Speaker 6: when I think it was the army that started the
- 8:42Speaker 6: Canine Core and so Canine Veterans Day didn't start until
- 8:49Speaker 6: early two thousands, and it was just to honor these veterans.
- 8:53Speaker 5: We do a lot for our human veterans.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Never never enough, never enough.
- 8:59Speaker 5: It's never enough.
- 9:00Speaker 6: And these dogs, I mean, you know, there's there's movies
- 9:02Speaker 6: about these dogs. I mean, the Meg and Levy movie
- 9:05Speaker 6: is a true story. She got paired with a dog
- 9:08Speaker 6: and her dog got left and she fought to get
- 9:12Speaker 6: back with her dog. So our dogs don't always get
- 9:14Speaker 6: back with their handler. Sometimes their handler is injured, sometimes
- 9:17Speaker 6: their handler stays over there so if if there's a
- 9:20Speaker 6: dog overseas that's working, and they could either be bomb sniffing,
- 9:23Speaker 6: they can be guarding bases doing a variety of things.
- 9:27Speaker 6: They actually, if they get retired overseas, they're no longer
- 9:31Speaker 6: military property.
- 9:32Speaker 5: They're considered property.
- 9:33Speaker 6: So they can either get adopted by a handler, they
- 9:37Speaker 6: could get transferred to another maybe like an allied force
- 9:40Speaker 6: or the police force over there, another security force, and
- 9:43Speaker 6: sometimes that doesn't go well, or if the military doesn't
- 9:48Speaker 6: have time to deal with a quote unquote like an
- 9:50Speaker 6: unfit dog, they will unfortunately euthanize them.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Uh I know, uh well, actually I have a text
- 9:56Speaker 3: here I wonder to get too, but I do need
- 9:57Speaker 3: to get this in here. But they valanced show on
- 9:59Speaker 3: five Any live is presient and in part by your

- 10:21Speaker 3: fun Days. Kids twelve and under get in for free.
- 10:23Speaker 3: For more, visit dirty Birds Baseball dot com. But did
- 10:25Speaker 3: have a text to the show when somebody asked about
- 10:28Speaker 3: putting a dog with a vet in each school and
- 10:31Speaker 3: how adept dogs are with things like shooters and things
- 10:36Speaker 3: like that in school.
- 10:38Speaker 6: I wonder if that's from somebody that knows me, because
- 10:40Speaker 6: that is my passion. I don't know if it do,
- 10:44Speaker 6: but that is my passion. School safety is my passion.
- 10:47Speaker 6: And there was a bill to go through to put
- 10:50Speaker 6: retired military retired police into schools.
- 10:54Speaker 9: There.
- 10:55Speaker 5: It didn't it didn't get picked up.
- 10:57Speaker 6: So, for example, I'm familiar with goals in Cabal County
- 11:01Speaker 6: and one in Martinsburg. These schools are huge and there's
- 11:04Speaker 6: two thousand people in some of these schools. There's no
- 11:07Speaker 6: way one officer can handle an incident, God forbid, with
- 11:11Speaker 6: two thousand people in that school. It's just too big.
- 11:15Speaker 6: And you know, I couldn't get from one end to
- 11:17Speaker 6: the school to the other in time to stop somebody.
- 11:19Speaker 6: A working dog can. And it scares people because there's
- 11:23Speaker 6: people who are not dog people who are not familiar
- 11:26Speaker 6: with dogs. There are also people who are not willing
- 11:29Speaker 6: to take a risk, and they think, what if something
- 11:31Speaker 6: happens to the dog or a kid with a dog,
- 11:34Speaker 6: and you know, it's a lawsuit or something. But while
- 11:37Speaker 6: we can't be fear based, we have to be proactive.
- 11:39Speaker 6: And I do truly believe that these dogs can be
- 11:41Speaker 6: trained with a handler in the schools and they will
- 11:45Speaker 6: track down a weapon. They can get a bad guy
- 11:49Speaker 6: in a matter of seconds. All it takes is one command.
- 11:53Speaker 6: So a lot of these dogs are trained in German.
- 11:55Speaker 6: So if you're at the mall with your dog or
- 11:57Speaker 6: you're at the park with your dog, somebody just doesn't
- 11:59Speaker 6: say come, and your dog's not going to go to
- 12:00Speaker 6: the wrong person, I mean, you know, or give a
- 12:02Speaker 6: NodD command. So so they have special keywords that they
- 12:07Speaker 6: know when to go get a person. So it's some
- 12:11Speaker 6: of the some of the scares that people have, the
- 12:13Speaker 6: fears that people have are not exactly logical.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah, we had a texture. So how about having some
- 12:20Speaker 3: of the hero dogs and armed forces days parades could
- 12:23Speaker 3: be a way to educate kids about them on our history.
- 12:25Speaker 5: I'll take idy and all ideas. I love it.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I love it.
- 12:28Speaker 6: We we have a website wardog Guardians dot org. We
- 12:31Speaker 6: are on Instagram war Dog Guardians.
- 12:34Speaker 5: If you want to go.
- 12:34Speaker 6: There and connect with us or direct message us, shoot
- 12:37Speaker 6: us some ideas you can put your contact information in.
- 12:40Speaker 6: We are having a fundraiser in Huntington in the first
- 12:44Speaker 6: week of August. I think I've got an amazing female
- 12:49Speaker 6: war dog handler speaker coming. I've just got to get
- 12:52Speaker 6: the details down and then we If you want to
- 12:55Speaker 6: host a fundraiser, we would love to come and bring
- 12:58Speaker 6: some dogs and and.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Educate people about that also.
- 13:02Speaker 6: Or if you would just share the word and share
- 13:04Speaker 6: our website today for Canine Veterans Day, we would appreciate it.
- 13:08Speaker 3: I know as you exit us you're going to head
- 13:11Speaker 3: over to the Capitol, and you were telling me your schedule.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I'm already I was tired listening to you talk about
- 13:14Speaker 3: it in the green room. What are you doing at
- 13:16Speaker 3: the Capitol?
- 13:16Speaker 6: Specific So, today the Senate is going to do a
- 13:18Speaker 6: proclamation for Kanine Veterans Day, which is incredible. I mean,
- 13:21Speaker 6: we're educating these senators and legislators. They don't know, they
- 13:25Speaker 6: didn't know about Knine Veterans Day. So I'm assuming most
- 13:28Speaker 6: of the public doesn't know about it, so we're educating them.
- 13:31Speaker 6: We're heading to Huntington High today to the Junior ROTC
- 13:35Speaker 6: and we're educating those young young students and future military members.
- 13:39Speaker 5: And then we are heading to the VA and Wayne County.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Awesome, awesome, good stuff, Cassie. It's a pleasure to have
- 13:44Speaker 3: you on the show, and I appreciate all the work
- 13:47Speaker 3: that you're doing. The group is called War Dog Guardians
- 13:50Speaker 3: and it is National Canine Veterans Day. So great opportunity
- 13:53Speaker 3: to have you on the show. We'll have you back
- 13:54Speaker 3: again soon, maybe next year, how's that? Or maybe before then?
- 13:57Speaker 3: How's that? I like that idea of having to maybe
- 13:59Speaker 3: in the parades. Maybe dra all a little attention. I
- 14:01Speaker 3: appreciate my texture for bringing that up. I love it.
- 14:02Speaker 5: I'll take that idea, all right.

- 14:33Speaker 4: We all want what's best for our kids, safe, healthy choices,
- 14:39Speaker 4: but some politicians right here in West Virginia are going
- 14:43Speaker 4: way too far. They're pushing a ban on safe ingredients
- 14:47Speaker 4: in our grocery stores. That ban would jack up prices
- 14:50Speaker 4: on almost everything we buy. Banning these types of ingredients
- 14:53Speaker 4: would eliminate sixty percent of the food on grocery shelves,
- 14:57Speaker 4: hiking prices even more when we're all already struggling. Worse,
- 15:01Speaker 4: it would cost thousands of jobs all across West Virginia.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Governor Morrissey can stop this reckless ban.
- 15:09Speaker 10: It goes way too far.

- 16:35Speaker 3: Delegates Kaylee Young, good morning. How are you?
- 16:37Speaker 8: Good morning, Dave Happy halfway through session day it today's today?
- 16:41Speaker 3: I did not realize that it's day thirty.
- 16:44Speaker 5: US.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Steve Adam, Stephen Allen Adams, my buddy on Twitter, said
- 16:48Speaker 3: happy day thirty to those that celebrate.
- 16:50Speaker 8: Yeah, celebrator countdown either one.
- 16:52Speaker 3: That's also something else. You're all decked out in red today.
- 16:55Speaker 3: That's what else is going on about, because there's always
- 16:57Speaker 3: ten twenty things going on at.
- 16:59Speaker 11: The CAP always including Canine Veteran Day apparently, which is exciting.
- 17:03Speaker 11: And also go red for Heart Health Day. We do
- 17:05Speaker 11: that once a year for American Heart Association. So everybody
- 17:09Speaker 11: gets together and where's red.
- 17:10Speaker 3: All right, I'm going to talk to you about some
- 17:13Speaker 3: other things going on in the legislature, but you know,
- 17:16Speaker 3: I got to get this. The world of social media.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Delegate was a blaze on I guess Tuesday, Senate Bill
- 17:22Speaker 3: four fifty six. Of course, it was signed into law yesterday.
- 17:25Speaker 11: It was signed into law yesterday. Fifth bill that's been
- 17:27Speaker 11: signed into law this session, five bills. Five.
- 17:30Speaker 3: That's another day vittorial for a little bit later on
- 17:34Speaker 3: in the show, the Riley Gaines Act as they call it,
- 17:38Speaker 3: and I just to review, and I had Delegate JB.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Acres on the show yesterday to explain his side of
- 17:43Speaker 3: the story. There was an anything and this thing has
- 17:46Speaker 3: just gotten all over the place here social media and
- 17:49Speaker 3: so on and so forth. Anything that I say that
- 17:51Speaker 3: is incorrect or I read it wrong, you can jump in.
- 17:54Speaker 3: And because we've been friends for a long time, you
- 17:55Speaker 3: can jump in and say, hey, Dave, that's not right.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Sure, all right?
- 17:57Speaker 3: So delicate Acres was on the show yesterday. There was
- 17:59Speaker 3: an an amendment, at the request of Delegate Acres, to
- 18:03Speaker 3: include that only a health care provider could visually or
- 18:07Speaker 3: physically examine a minor child for the purpose of verifying
- 18:10Speaker 3: their biological sex without the consent of a child's parent, guarding,
- 18:15Speaker 3: et cetera. I don't think anybody would disagree with that part.
- 18:19Speaker 3: If this is indeed a law, which it.
- 18:20Speaker 8: Is now disagree with which part I mean?
- 18:23Speaker 3: I don't think that in my opinion. Now, if it's
- 18:26Speaker 3: a law, if the law has passed, I think that
- 18:28Speaker 3: people would probably be okay with if it has to
- 18:32Speaker 3: be done, that it be done by a responsible person.
- 18:36Speaker 8: Why would it have to be done, Why would we
- 18:38Speaker 8: be verifying biological.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Well no, no, I'm saying if that was part of
- 18:41Speaker 3: the law, is okay, okay, that's why I said interrupt me. Okay,
- 18:48Speaker 3: all right, all right. So the state Democratic Party took
- 18:51Speaker 3: issue with this, as did many Democrats of the legislature,
- 18:55Speaker 3: including yourself. I'll let you take the story from here.
- 18:58Speaker 8: Yeah, so let's back up just a little bit.
- 19:00Speaker 11: If people didn't missed it, four fifty six is a bill,
- 19:03Speaker 11: they would say it's a definitional bill. I would say
- 19:06Speaker 11: that it's a bill that kind of gives a license
- 19:08Speaker 11: to harassed folks. It's about single sex spaces. It said
- 19:11Speaker 11: we didn't have definitions for men and women in our
- 19:13Speaker 11: state code.
- 19:14Speaker 8: That's not true.
- 19:15Speaker 11: We passed a transgender sports ban in twenty twenty one
- 19:18Speaker 11: that took care of the sports issue for folks who
- 19:21Speaker 11: had issues with that, so we had that in the
- 19:23Speaker 11: code already. This bill says single sex spaces, here's who
- 19:26Speaker 11: can go in them, here's who can't go in them.
- 19:28Speaker 11: I was concerned that that meant that people are going
- 19:31Speaker 11: to start following around people that may not look man
- 19:34Speaker 11: enough or woman enough in their eyes and say, what
- 19:36Speaker 11: are you doing? Get out of here. We've seen that
- 19:38Speaker 11: happen We've seen that happen in Congress. Congress passed this,
- 19:41Speaker 11: and that's literally what.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Happens to Yeah, a couple you know, we've all seen
- 19:45Speaker 3: the story by now a couple of days ago where
- 19:47Speaker 3: they refuse I guess it was like a committee meeting
- 19:49Speaker 3: in Washington or some of that effectively, Yeah, they refused
- 19:52Speaker 3: to address.
- 19:53Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, but not even that.
- 19:55Speaker 11: I mean, they passed a very similar piece of legislation.
- 19:57Speaker 11: I believe it was a rule in Congress. And then
- 20:00Speaker 11: two members followed a woman into the bathroom and pulled
- 20:03Speaker 11: in a security guard and said, you need to make
- 20:05Speaker 11: sure that's a woman.
- 20:06Speaker 8: And guess what, it was a woman. So I just
- 20:07Speaker 8: wanted to.
- 20:08Speaker 11: Make sure that nobody was looking at anybody's genitals, child, adult, anybody.
- 20:14Speaker 8: That's nobody's business.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Okay, So where is the breakdown, I guess, and I
- 20:17Speaker 3: heard a Delegate Acre's side of the story yesterday. Where
- 20:20Speaker 3: is the breakdown in communication here between what you were
- 20:24Speaker 3: saying and what he was saying? And where where where
- 20:27Speaker 3: are we on this?
- 20:29Speaker 8: That's a great question. So where we are is that
- 20:30Speaker 8: the bill is now signed into law.
- 20:32Speaker 11: My amendment wasn't in it. His amendments not in it.
- 20:34Speaker 11: The Senate had an amendment that I agreed with. The
- 20:37Speaker 11: Senate amendment said nothing shall be construed as authorizing an
- 20:40Speaker 11: examination of a miner for purposes of determining the miner's
- 20:44Speaker 11: biological sex. It then talks about a birth certificate. Fine,
- 20:47Speaker 11: that's fine, that's non invasive. The amendments on the House side.
- 20:50Speaker 11: His amendment said that a healthcare professional can verify biological sex.
- 20:55Speaker 11: My amendment said no one's genitals are getting inspected adult
- 20:59Speaker 11: or child period.
- 21:01Speaker 8: They passed his.
- 21:01Speaker 11: Amendment, they voted down my amendment. I tried to do
- 21:04Speaker 11: a roll call to see how people voted on my amendment.
- 21:07Speaker 11: They would not sustain the role call. If people don't understand.
- 21:10Speaker 11: In the House, you have to raise your hand.
- 21:11Speaker 8: We do voice votes.
- 21:13Speaker 11: If you want a roll call, which is people's names
- 21:15Speaker 11: on a piece of paper, you have to have ten
- 21:16Speaker 11: people raise their hand. We couldn't get that. So I
- 21:19Speaker 11: just wanted to make sure there were no genital inspections. Now,
- 21:23Speaker 11: with the current law that has passed, nobody's going to
- 21:26Speaker 11: be verifying children's genitals.
- 21:28Speaker 8: Adults are still you can still do that.
- 21:31Speaker 11: I would love to know how that's gonna work, because
- 21:33Speaker 11: when we asked about this bill, and we asked about
- 21:35Speaker 11: the enforcement mechanisms. There was no plan. There was no
- 21:39Speaker 11: plan at all for how this bill is going to
- 21:41Speaker 11: be enforced. So if you pass the law that says
- 21:44Speaker 11: men can't be in this women's space, if somebody thinks
- 21:47Speaker 11: there is a man in there.
- 21:48Speaker 8: What are you supposed to do? Who are you supposed
- 21:50Speaker 8: to go tell? How are you going to verify that?
- 21:52Speaker 3: And how many times does this actually happen?
- 21:54Speaker 8: It sounds like none to me in West Virginia. So
- 21:57Speaker 8: that's a great question.
- 21:58Speaker 3: That's been my point on a lot of these things.
- 22:00Speaker 3: And again we're talking with Kayla young Is and I
- 22:02Speaker 3: get the I guess the argument or or the statements
- 22:06Speaker 3: from some say, well, it's happened here, and it's happened there.
- 22:10Speaker 3: We want to make sure it doesn't happen here. West
- 22:12Speaker 3: Virginia is a different animal to itself.
- 22:14Speaker 8: I agree with that, but I'm just know what's in
- 22:16Speaker 8: front of me.
- 22:16Speaker 3: I understand, I know, I understand that, But you get
- 22:18Speaker 3: my point too. I'm just trying to say I think
- 22:21Speaker 3: it's enough in many cases. It's another example and assistant.
- 22:25Speaker 3: You can disagree with me if you want, of us
- 22:27Speaker 3: creating a problem where there ain't none.
- 22:29Speaker 11: Yeah, I agree, and we have plenty of problems that
- 22:30Speaker 11: do exist that we should be solving. I mean, I
- 22:32Speaker 11: just think that this was a poorly drafted amendment. I'm
- 22:35Speaker 11: glad it came out. Mine tried to protect people that
- 22:38Speaker 11: one didn't, and I just disagree with that wholeheartedly.
- 22:41Speaker 3: In his interview yesterday, Delegate Acres said that, in his opinion,
- 22:45Speaker 3: this was an example of why bipartisan stuff doesn't get
- 22:48Speaker 3: done at the Capitol more often. That's what he said
- 22:51Speaker 3: to this is a prime example.
- 22:53Speaker 8: How so well, I mean, didn't support mind.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Well, and well, I guess, I guess, and I'm not
- 22:57Speaker 3: p ttrying to play a mind reader here, but I
- 22:59Speaker 3: guess what he was trying to say is is something
- 23:01Speaker 3: it seemed like what you two were saying at one
- 23:04Speaker 3: point wasn't totally different at one point, but then it
- 23:07Speaker 3: kind of got changed a lot.
- 23:09Speaker 11: And I mean, I think that I think that he
- 23:12Speaker 11: may have believed that our amendments were similar. If you
- 23:15Speaker 11: look at the words on the paper, they're not in
- 23:17Speaker 11: any capacity. Okay, Okay, I think that that I do
- 23:20Speaker 11: believe that he genuinely thought that at one point, But
- 23:23Speaker 11: I don't find that to be the case. And I
- 23:25Speaker 11: also don't think that that's and that has anything to
- 23:27Speaker 11: do with bipartisanship happening. We can shake hands and say
- 23:30Speaker 11: hi to each other. That's just being a kind human
- 23:32Speaker 11: that's not by partisanship and working together. I think one
- 23:35Speaker 11: Democrat bill has run in one committee and it was
- 23:37Speaker 11: one of mine. Other than that, they're rolling over us
- 23:41Speaker 11: per usual. They're ninety one people. Why are they worried
- 23:44Speaker 11: about my amendment? They shoot my amendments down all the time?
- 23:48Speaker 3: Talked again, was delicate? Kala Young the Dave Alan showing

- 24:02Speaker 3: what about the governor signing the bill yesterday? Yeah, so
- 24:06Speaker 3: you were not in attendance. I don't guess yesterday when
- 24:08Speaker 3: he signed the bill.
- 24:08Speaker 8: I was actually at work. We were in the floor session.
- 24:11Speaker 8: We were on third reading.
- 24:12Speaker 11: We had probably ten bills left to go, five or
- 24:16Speaker 11: six on third reading. Still we start at eleven am.
- 24:18Speaker 11: For those that don't know, the bill signing was at
- 24:20Speaker 11: twelve thirty am. Never in my career have I seen
- 24:24Speaker 11: we stopped work, We paused work and recessed in the
- 24:27Speaker 11: middle of the workday so folks could go to a
- 24:30Speaker 11: bill signing for the governor's landmark piece of legislation. These
- 24:33Speaker 11: people cannot sit here and tell me that this is
- 24:35Speaker 11: not the most important thing to them when we are
- 24:38Speaker 11: pausing what we're doing for them to go sign this bill.
- 24:41Speaker 8: It's unbelievable.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Now the you know, Governor Patrick Morrisey ran on one
- 24:47Speaker 3: when of these were one of the things that he
- 24:49Speaker 3: that he said that he wanted to get done as governor. Okay,
- 24:53Speaker 3: so what would you say to people that say, this
- 24:56Speaker 3: is what West Virginia voted for. West Virginia overwhelmingly voting
- 25:01Speaker 3: at the top, you know, for Trump. But let's keep
- 25:03Speaker 3: it on state level, Hill, I mean, you know more
- 25:05Speaker 3: c it was a runaway in the race for governor.
- 25:10Speaker 3: What would you say to people to say, hey, we're
- 25:12Speaker 3: good with this is what we voted for.
- 25:14Speaker 11: No, I think that's absolutely right, and I think this
- 25:16Speaker 11: is what they voted for. I don't think they really
- 25:18Speaker 11: thought it through how it's going to work out in practice.
- 25:21Speaker 11: I mean, technically, the law that they signed says that
- 25:23Speaker 11: men can't go into women's locker rooms yesterday. Locker rooms
- 25:27Speaker 11: is the only part that mentioned sports. This bill is
- 25:29Speaker 11: not about sports. It mentions bathrooms and locker rooms, not
- 25:33Speaker 11: playing sports. So then I would posture that the bill
- 25:35Speaker 11: signed in the law means that every coach at the
- 25:38Speaker 11: women's state championship going on right now can't legally be
- 25:41Speaker 11: in that locker room as of yesterday.
- 25:43Speaker 3: That's what that That's the way you see it.
- 25:45Speaker 11: That's what the law says. That's what the law says
- 25:48Speaker 11: as of yesterday. Yes West Virginians did vote for that.
- 25:51Speaker 11: Per the mailers in my mailbox, I'm pretty sure that
- 25:53Speaker 11: they run on these issues and then continue to run.
- 25:56Speaker 8: On these issues. I think I got six pieces of
- 25:58Speaker 8: mail about myself on.
- 25:59Speaker 11: The issue alone. This is all they're talking about. Meanwhile,
- 26:03Speaker 11: everyone's utility bills are through the roof, food is so expensive.
- 26:08Speaker 8: We're not doing real things. These are made up problems.
- 26:12Speaker 3: It's I mean, it's low hanging fruit.
- 26:15Speaker 11: It's low hanging fruit. And we've signed five bills into law.
- 26:17Speaker 11: One of them is banning a form of voting that
- 26:19Speaker 11: doesn't exist in West Virginia. Another one's this one that
- 26:23Speaker 11: does nothing, and three yere tax bills. We just have
- 26:26Speaker 11: to do.
- 26:27Speaker 8: What are we doing to help people?
- 26:29Speaker 3: And I was going to get this a little bit
- 26:31Speaker 3: later on. I'm a little bit and again I'm not
- 26:33Speaker 3: in legislature. I've been around it, but I don't know
- 26:35Speaker 3: what all goes into it. But I can tell you
- 26:38Speaker 3: that as a taxpayer, not a talk show host. As
- 26:40Speaker 3: a taxpayer, it does bother me. It worth the thirty
- 26:43Speaker 3: day session. And this is what we've gotten done so far.
- 26:46Speaker 3: And in the meantime, people in McDowell County are trying
- 26:49Speaker 3: to put their lives back together. In the meantime, we
- 26:51Speaker 3: still have a foster care crisis. We have kids living
- 26:53Speaker 3: six and seven at sometimes in hotel rooms. And I'm
- 26:56Speaker 3: not saying these things aren't being looked at. I don't
- 26:58Speaker 3: want to say that because I know Republicans and Democrats
- 27:01Speaker 3: are looking at these things. They're trying to do what
- 27:03Speaker 3: they can. However, we're not accomplishing, in my opinion, Delegate
- 27:08Speaker 3: a whole lot.
- 27:08Speaker 11: I would agree with that, and I mean I will
- 27:10Speaker 11: give the majority a little credit. There have been some
- 27:12Speaker 11: good foster care bills. There have been some good childcare
- 27:15Speaker 11: bills in several of the committees. I agree we are
- 27:18Speaker 11: starting to make process on these things, but we haven't
- 27:20Speaker 11: accomplished very few of them, very very very few. But
- 27:24Speaker 11: meanwhile they're trampling over themselves and pausing business to make
- 27:28Speaker 11: sure this gets done. Those priorities are out of whack.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Somebody said a text here, and I don't mean to
- 27:32Speaker 3: laugh about this, but it says, does the laws say
- 27:34Speaker 3: men janitors can't clean women's bathrooms?
- 27:37Speaker 11: It doesn't mention that actually great question that these are
- 27:40Speaker 11: the questions that we ask ourselves because how do these
- 27:43Speaker 11: things work in practice? I think it's a great headline, right,
- 27:46Speaker 11: But in practice, what does this actually mean? It means
- 27:49Speaker 11: that you can go out and harass people when there's
- 27:51Speaker 11: no enforcer, everyone becomes an enforcer, and that's a problem
- 27:55Speaker 11: and we should reject it.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I was trying to get the uh ok here. It
- 27:58Speaker 3: is a Delegate flu Hardy said Republicans are more concerned
- 28:01Speaker 3: with genitals than jobs.
- 28:03Speaker 11: They are, They absolutely are, and I mean they're also
- 28:06Speaker 11: concerned with my amendment, apparently because they won't stop talking
- 28:09Speaker 11: about it. Their House caucus sent out another press release
- 28:11Speaker 11: today in the Democratic Party press release, not the caucus.
- 28:15Speaker 8: But I don't work for the party.
- 28:16Speaker 11: I'm a member of the legislature, and I'm pretty sure
- 28:19Speaker 11: I criticized Democrats. I'm probably the only Democrat openly criticizing
- 28:24Speaker 11: Democrats often on this show. Even you know that I
- 28:27Speaker 11: asked the last president to not run for office.
- 28:30Speaker 8: So I'm not like Shine.
- 28:32Speaker 3: We took a lot on and you took a lot
- 28:34Speaker 3: of crap for that.
- 28:35Speaker 8: I mean, okay, that's awesome.
- 28:36Speaker 3: I mean no, and I'm saying that you stood up.
- 28:39Speaker 3: My point is is I'm agreeing with you, is that
- 28:42Speaker 3: you don't always party, you don't always toe the line here.
- 28:44Speaker 3: You were one of the early ones. You got national
- 28:46Speaker 3: attention for asking Joe Biden not to run.
- 28:48Speaker 8: That's right I did.
- 28:49Speaker 11: But meanwhile, so the Democratic Party put out a press release,
- 28:52Speaker 11: not me. I put a quote in it, and now
- 28:55Speaker 11: they're attacking me for one amendment.
- 28:57Speaker 8: This isn't about me.
- 28:59Speaker 11: We should focus on the next thirty days and running
- 29:02Speaker 11: meaningful legislation.
- 29:03Speaker 3: It's already been signed into law, so it's a done deal. Yeah,
- 29:07Speaker 3: I mean, does it go to court? You think in
- 29:08Speaker 3: your opinion?
- 29:09Speaker 2: I mean.
- 29:12Speaker 11: Somebody would have to file a suit and I don't
- 29:13Speaker 11: I don't know what that would look like. That's somebody
- 29:15Speaker 11: else has done.
- 29:15Speaker 3: All right, what are you working on today? Let's get
- 29:17Speaker 3: away from this issue for a moment. What's uh, what's
- 29:20Speaker 3: what's positive in the world today?
- 29:21Speaker 11: I don't know if it's positive, but where what do
- 29:23Speaker 11: you want today? Is the bill before us today that
- 29:25Speaker 11: I have is allowing more money and elections. They're going
- 29:28Speaker 11: to allow corporations to directly donate to campaigns. No one
- 29:32Speaker 11: asked me to do that, to allow more money in politics.
- 29:36Speaker 11: And then we have a bill about standing up on
- 29:38Speaker 11: a motorcycle, legalizing.
- 29:41Speaker 3: It, legalizing sending it on the motorcycle. Yep, okay, all right,
- 29:45Speaker 3: what's your take on the And I promise to let
- 29:48Speaker 3: you go because you've got to go. What what's your
- 29:50Speaker 3: take on? And I'm going to talk about this a
- 29:51Speaker 3: little bit later on, about the bill that would make
- 29:54Speaker 3: judicial racist partisan again, something that the Republicans pushed for
- 29:58Speaker 3: ten years ago.
- 29:59Speaker 11: I haven't read that much into that one, and I'm
- 30:02Speaker 11: less worried about it. The one I am more worried
- 30:03Speaker 11: about that I don't know is running or not? Is
- 30:06Speaker 11: the primary elections being closed to independent voters. We know
- 30:09Speaker 11: the Republican parties already closed their primary elections to any
- 30:13Speaker 11: independent voters moving forward, but now they want to make
- 30:16Speaker 11: that a state law. And I know both parties have
- 30:18Speaker 11: gone back and forth on that, but I think voters
- 30:20Speaker 11: should be allowed to be independent if they want to,
- 30:22Speaker 11: and they should be allowed to vote in whichever primary
- 30:24Speaker 11: they want to. So I'm worried about that bill. We've
- 30:26Speaker 11: had several election bills that have passed. That one has
- 30:29Speaker 11: been okay, a couple of suppressed voters a little bit.
- 30:32Speaker 11: But we've had a lot of elections bills, a lot
- 30:35Speaker 11: of criminal penalties bills, not a lot of great foster

- 33:53Speaker 3: As you may imagine, I got a lot of text
- 33:55Speaker 3: to get to it. I'm going to get to as
- 33:56Speaker 3: many of those as I can before we get to
- 33:58Speaker 3: some other things going on. Says did she vote against
- 34:01Speaker 3: his amendment? That's the point. Democrats didn't say a word
- 34:03Speaker 3: and then blasted them and a press release keep it up, Dems.
- 34:06Speaker 3: You have less than a dozen total delegates and senators.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Next session, you'll cauck us in a coat closet, says
- 34:12Speaker 3: a text Collins WI one to the match. She tells
- 34:18Speaker 3: lies and she lies about jb Acres. All right, I'm
- 34:21Speaker 3: not reading that part. These fools. These are foolish line
- 34:25Speaker 3: scare tactics that will stop at nothing. Keep it up, Dems,
- 34:28Speaker 3: we are going to keep winning. Text says. The Dems
- 34:32Speaker 3: are in such a dire strait they can't even demand
- 34:34Speaker 3: a roll call. Text. We are worried about what you
- 34:37Speaker 3: do because what you do is a lie. Kayla Young says,
- 34:40Speaker 3: Riley Gaines is a bigot. How so, Delegate Young says,
- 34:49Speaker 3: the voters didn't think it through when we voted. Give
- 34:51Speaker 3: me a break, says a Texter.
- 34:53Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 34:53Speaker 3: And that's the point I was trying to make, is
- 34:56Speaker 3: that you know, Governor Morrissey and the other Republicans we're
- 35:00Speaker 3: running for governor lay these things on the line, and
- 35:05Speaker 3: they said this is what we want to do, and
- 35:08Speaker 3: West Virginia knew that. And I don't know, but there's
- 35:11Speaker 3: a whole lot of buyer's remorse on behalf of the
- 35:13Speaker 3: folks that voted because this is what they voted for.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Like it or not, this is what the majority of
- 35:18Speaker 3: West Virginians voted for. Sex says, let's cut to the chase.
- 35:23Speaker 3: There's no lie a Democrat won't tell it in order
- 35:25Speaker 3: to perpetrate transgenderism, says a Tanks term question for Kayla Young.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Since a reality TV star and they're wrestling, are closing
- 35:37Speaker 3: the Department of Education and sending it to the states,
- 35:39Speaker 3: what is the Westernia government planning to do with those programs?
- 35:42Speaker 3: Are there any bills and works for that supporting students
- 35:45Speaker 3: with disabilities? For example? I'm sorry I did not get
- 35:47Speaker 3: to that while a delegate youngest here. I will try
- 35:49Speaker 3: next time she's on the show or sooner. I will
- 35:51Speaker 3: try to get an answer for you on that tick,
- 36:01Speaker 3: says Kayla. Unfortunately, people are going to identify Democrats with
- 36:04Speaker 3: a national party which has totally gone off the left end,
- 36:07Speaker 3: and I believe that's your biggest struggle it, says a Texter.
- 36:11Speaker 3: I would have a tendency to agree with that with
- 36:13Speaker 3: that text, Texas Dave, why in God's name do we
- 36:19Speaker 3: need to be listening but people discussing other people's genitals
- 36:23Speaker 3: on the radio. How does this help West Virginia struggling
- 36:25Speaker 3: to buy groceries, pay their utilties, find good jobs, or
- 36:27Speaker 3: getting education and healthcare. Stop being stupid, it's rotting fruit
- 36:31Speaker 3: to the ground. Stop picking it up. Well, look, the
- 36:35Speaker 3: job of a talk show host is to talk about
- 36:38Speaker 3: what people are talking about. And on Tuesday night, I
- 36:43Speaker 3: don't know about starting it. Actually late Tuesday afternoon, that's
- 36:47Speaker 3: all my social media was was people talking about this
- 36:51Speaker 3: back and forth involving Delegate Acres and later of the
- 36:54Speaker 3: State Democratic Party and so on and so forth. So,
- 36:56Speaker 3: you know, spare me the media thing. As I get
- 37:00Speaker 3: it's so damn tired of hearing about the media. We
- 37:03Speaker 3: I can't speak for all members in the media. I
- 37:05Speaker 3: talk about what other people are talking about, and this
- 37:07Speaker 3: is what they're talking about. Like it or not, I'd
- 37:10Speaker 3: trust me. I'd much rather be talking about dogs or
- 37:13Speaker 3: cheeseburgers or something like that. But the job of a
- 37:15Speaker 3: talk show host is to talk about what people are
- 37:17Speaker 3: talking about, and that's what they're talking about. By you know,
- 37:21Speaker 3: by his evidence is all of the ten thousand texts
- 37:24Speaker 3: I probably won't get to today. Texas, the Republicans are
- 37:28Speaker 3: just plainly mental ill mentally ill Texas Caucus in a
- 37:35Speaker 3: coat closet. Republicans certainly know a lot about being in
- 37:37Speaker 3: the closet, says a texture. Texas Republicans are mad at
- 37:43Speaker 3: calab because she's got them associated with wanting to verify
- 37:45Speaker 3: Genitalia Republicans. Republicans don't want their intentions exposed, says a texture.
- 37:56Speaker 3: You know, says a texture. For decades, scientists has said
- 37:59Speaker 3: that the brain is not fully developed until the age
- 38:01Speaker 3: twenty five. So, using their own research, which we were
- 38:04Speaker 3: lectured to do, trust the no child under eighteen can mentally,
- 38:08Speaker 3: emotionally or physologically grasp long term and lifelong consequences of
- 38:12Speaker 3: choosing gender. Leave kids alone, says the texture Texas. Maybe
- 38:17Speaker 3: you should get in touch with your party leaders in
- 38:18Speaker 3: d C about pushing these social issues on the people
- 38:21Speaker 3: and making them your party's priorities. That's why thousands have
- 38:25Speaker 3: left the Democratic Party, including myself. As a text tex says, Okay,
- 38:31Speaker 3: that one was the same one. Sometimes they repeat themselves
- 38:34Speaker 3: for some reason. Texas Delegate Young sounds energetic. That's respectable,
- 38:38Speaker 3: But her and the rest of the legislative leadership better
- 38:40Speaker 3: start working on economic jobs, roads Pei so on, and
- 38:45Speaker 3: so forth as a texture Tex says day the majority
- 38:49Speaker 3: of West Virginia citizens voted for common sense and are
- 38:52Speaker 3: sick of the ridiculous Democratic agenda, says a text. Vaccines
- 38:58Speaker 3: are your best protection to get severe disease from fluid
- 39:00Speaker 3: COVID nineteen. If you're sixty five or older, risk less
- 39:03Speaker 3: do more with this season's vaccines. Get started at vaccines

- 39:10Speaker 3: I meaning we'll talk to Angie Gillenwater the Canawla Charleston
- 39:12Speaker 3: Humane Association with this week's Adopt Meet Please Pet of
- 39:15Speaker 3: the Week. Also Saturday, at Capitol Market, the annual Green
- 39:18Speaker 3: Chili Shootout will be out and it's part of the
- 39:20Speaker 3: event some live pro wrestling on the lot of the market.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Adam Harris, now you know him from Mountain Stage, but
- 39:28Speaker 3: you may not have known he is one of the
- 39:30Speaker 3: most sought after pro wrestling ring announcers around the country.
- 39:34Speaker 3: He'll be ring announcing this event Saturday afternoon after the
- 39:36Speaker 3: Green Chili Shootout. And the best thing about the wrestling
- 39:39Speaker 3: party is it's absolutely free, no charge whatsoever to attend.
- 39:42Speaker 3: A lot of people did last year was packed last
- 39:44Speaker 3: year at the end of the Green Chili shootouts, So
- 39:46Speaker 3: we'll talk to Adam Harris about that. Plus State Democratic
- 39:49Speaker 3: Party chair and Delegate Mike Pushkin will be on the
- 39:52Speaker 3: show tomorrow as well. A little plug for the show
- 39:57Speaker 3: that Amanda Baron and I will be doing on the
- 39:58Speaker 3: Metro News network of STAF many of them anyway, including
- 40:02Speaker 3: this one, starting on March twenty fourth, one week from Monday.
- 40:06Speaker 3: It's called Metro News Midday. It'll air from noon till three.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Now you know, Amanda of course host of Tonight Live,
- 40:11Speaker 3: which airs statewide at five point thirty on the next
- 40:13Speaker 3: to our family of stations and seen locally here on
- 40:16Speaker 3: WOWK TV thirteen here in the Charleston Huntings Market. Now
- 40:19Speaker 3: show handle most of the duties starting at nude think
- 40:22Speaker 3: maybe noon to like one little bit after one that
- 40:24Speaker 3: I'll join the show after one with Amanda and we'll
- 40:27Speaker 3: take it up three o'clock. Well, I'll take it up
- 40:29Speaker 3: three because somewhere in at one o'clock hour most days
- 40:32Speaker 3: she's got to escape to her real job, you know,
- 40:33Speaker 3: down the street. She's not leaving WWK by the way,
- 40:37Speaker 3: She's going to do both kind of a little partnership
- 40:39Speaker 3: between the two news entities. It is going to be
- 40:42Speaker 3: a news show, but with some fun stuff thrown in
- 40:44Speaker 3: there as well, and chances for you to weigh in
- 40:47Speaker 3: on the issues that impact West Virginia. We'll, of course
- 40:50Speaker 3: talk about national stuff as it pertains to West Virginia,
- 40:53Speaker 3: much like we do on this show. I'm looking forward
- 40:56Speaker 3: to it. I hope you will tune in. One thing
- 40:58Speaker 3: I really want to do, And you know, you start
- 41:00Speaker 3: a show with all kinds of ideas, and I've been
- 41:03Speaker 3: doing this show for five years. This may all be
- 41:06Speaker 3: five years. The show I'm doing now was nothing like
- 41:08Speaker 3: the show I did in twenty twenty. It wasn't really
- 41:11Speaker 3: like the show I did last year either. Things changed.
- 41:13Speaker 3: But one of the things I want to do specifically
- 41:15Speaker 3: in that maybe let's say two to three or maybe
- 41:17Speaker 3: two fifteen to three time slot, I really really want
- 41:21Speaker 3: to ramp up the phone calls in the text to
- 41:24Speaker 3: talk to people in West Virginia and to let them
- 41:27Speaker 3: tell their stories about things. We're going to talk about news,
- 41:29Speaker 3: We're going to talk about politics. I'm going to do
- 41:31Speaker 3: what I do basically an expanded version of this show.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I'm still doing this show. By the way, I'm not
- 41:36Speaker 3: going to stop not giving up this show. Sorry to
- 41:39Speaker 3: the person who complained about that on social media or
- 41:42Speaker 3: on the Steam release I should say last week, but
- 41:46Speaker 3: I hope you check it out. March twenty fourth is
- 41:49Speaker 3: the launch date. Eventually we'll get to Metro News Television,
- 41:54Speaker 3: but we're probably just going to start off on radio,
- 41:56Speaker 3: several stations around the state, including this one Noon to three.
- 42:00Speaker 3: You know, Dan Bongino is currently and that's a lot.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Dan Bongino is ending his show as he joins the
- 42:06Speaker 3: Trump administration, which I'm sure you've heard about, and we
- 42:09Speaker 3: want to give that time basically back to West Virginia.
- 42:14Speaker 3: That's the that's the whole idea. We want to give
- 42:17Speaker 3: it back to West Virginia to talk about West Virginia stuff.
- 42:20Speaker 3: And some of it will be like the things we
- 42:22Speaker 3: talk about here on this show, and some of it's
- 42:24Speaker 3: going to be, you know, fun stuff, and some of
- 42:26Speaker 3: it's going to be ridiculous, because well I'm hosting him
- 42:29Speaker 3: at least part of it. A man, this part won't
- 42:30Speaker 3: be ridiculous. My part will be ridiculous. So anyway, March
- 42:33Speaker 3: twenty fourth, it'll air on this and several other radio
- 42:36Speaker 3: stations who out to stay to West Virginia from noon
- 42:38Speaker 3: two three. And we made the announcement last week on Friday,
- 42:43Speaker 3: and I was listening to Steam Release with TJ and
- 42:48Speaker 3: Wilson that day and some of the responses didn't fail me,
- 42:51Speaker 3: and I wanted to say this and to the guy
- 42:55Speaker 3: who is presuming who's I'm presuming this guy was a
- 42:58Speaker 3: local guy upset about the liberal Dave Allen doing the show. Well,
- 43:05Speaker 3: I mean, I guess that would depend on who you
- 43:08Speaker 3: who you ask. I mean, I was a two time
- 43:12Speaker 3: Republican Party president of Putnam County, and I seem to
- 43:15Speaker 3: remember a couple of years ago that I thought they
- 43:17Speaker 3: were going to practically burn the building down here because
- 43:21Speaker 3: of some things I had said on my stance on
- 43:24Speaker 3: the criminally homeless and also on needle exchange program. Both
- 43:27Speaker 3: of those I am thoroughly one hundred percent again, so
- 43:29Speaker 3: I'm not sure if that makes me a liberal. Now,
- 43:31Speaker 3: the fact that I don't worship at the throne of
- 43:34Speaker 3: Donald Trump like a lot of West Virginias do you
- 43:36Speaker 3: can take issue with me on that and that makes
- 43:38Speaker 3: me a liberal? Well, there's nothing I can do about that.
- 43:41Speaker 3: But anyway, all right, I understand we got a call
- 43:43Speaker 3: on the line, Ryan, I gotta take the break. We'll
- 43:45Speaker 3: come back. We'll get to the call. Plus more texts

- 50:18Speaker 3: years ago and said we do not want it to
