- 0:00Speaker 1: Stop asking why me and start being grateful for every opportunity,
- 0:05Speaker 1: every circumstance, every instance that allows you to grow. And dude,
- 0:10Speaker 1: it changes everything.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Welcome to Prioritize Your Life and PrioritizeYourLife.com. I'm Unbelievably excited
- 0:24Speaker 2: to be with Keaton the Muscle Hoskins today. Thank you
- 0:27Speaker 2: so much, man, for your time.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Absolutely. I'm honored to be with you, man.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I want to start in probably an unorthodox way by
- 0:33Speaker 2: just explaining what you've already done in my life with
- 0:37Speaker 2: the short amount of time that I've known you, because
- 0:40Speaker 2: it's kind of crazy to me, and I just have
- 0:42Speaker 2: to say thank you. And I want to throw out
- 0:45Speaker 2: a pitch to everybody that's looking to make a change
- 0:47Speaker 2: in their life to check out Limitless Society. First, I
- 0:50Speaker 2: spent the better part of a year studying stoicism. And
- 0:53Speaker 2: just got into it. And you know, their whole thing
- 0:55Speaker 2: is memento mori. It's be aware of your own death.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Become the best version of yourself that you can be
- 1:00Speaker 2: because time is limited. So that was a big part
- 1:03Speaker 2: of my life. But still, I can't say that I'd
- 1:05Speaker 2: wake up in the morning and I was like, remember
- 1:07Speaker 2: that you're going to die today. And then my own
- 1:09Speaker 2: mom passed away about a year ago. And nothing brings
- 1:13Speaker 2: you closer to your own mortality than a loved one
- 1:16Speaker 2: passing away. But I can't say even still that that
- 1:19Speaker 2: got me out of bed in the morning where the
- 1:21Speaker 2: first thing I thought of was like, You need to
- 1:24Speaker 2: get moving.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Your time is short.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So then inter-meeting you, in just the past couple months,
- 1:29Speaker 2: you share a story about your dad passing away when
- 1:32Speaker 2: you were only 21. You talked about the hourglass and
- 1:35Speaker 2: how we need to look at our lives as if
- 1:36Speaker 2: they were an hourglass and every piece of sand passes by.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And it did something to me.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It just spoke to my soul in a way that stoicism,
- 1:44Speaker 2: my own mom, all of those things didn't touch. And
- 1:47Speaker 2: I can't say why. I just think, just thank you.
- 1:51Speaker 2: So the next day I watched, I watched that speech.
- 1:54Speaker 2: The next day I got out of bed, I literally
- 1:56Speaker 2: saw an hourglass in front of my face. It's like
- 1:59Speaker 2: the first time something has just hit me in the face.
- 2:01Speaker 2: The second I got out of bed and I was like,
- 2:04Speaker 2: get moving today, man. Like this is it.
- 2:06Speaker 1: This is your day.
- 2:07Speaker 2: And it's been that way every day since. So I
- 2:10Speaker 2: just have to thank you and, uh, tell everybody to
- 2:14Speaker 2: go check out the limitless society. Cause this is what
- 2:16Speaker 2: Keaton does. And, uh, You have an amazing gift, and
- 2:19Speaker 2: just thank you so much.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I appreciate that, man. I spend a lot of time
- 2:23Speaker 1: telling people that you don't have time. You really don't.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It's from Marcus Aurelius, and that is you should contemplate
- 2:32Speaker 1: death on a regular basis. And the reality is if
- 2:35Speaker 1: you do that, it puts you into a perspective, a
- 2:39Speaker 1: different perspective. And I teach this very simple principle to
- 2:42Speaker 1: people all the time, and that is true perspective breeds discipline.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Because when we know that we only have so much time,
- 2:51Speaker 1: we're more disciplined with the time that we're given. We're
- 2:54Speaker 1: more disciplined in how we talk and how we act
- 2:56Speaker 1: and how we speak and what we think about and
- 2:58Speaker 1: what we, I mean, all of those things. And the
- 3:02Speaker 1: reality is, I was even talking to one of your
- 3:04Speaker 1: guys about somebody that we knew who passed away, a
- 3:06Speaker 1: young kid who passed away. And it was a freak
- 3:09Speaker 1: thing and he left behind a family. You don't really
- 3:11Speaker 1: know how much time you have. And that's okay. That's okay.
- 3:15Speaker 1: But what you should do is realize that your time
- 3:18Speaker 1: is running out. You should be more selfish with your time.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You should be more giving with your time to the
- 3:24Speaker 1: people that you want to give to. And when you
- 3:26Speaker 1: really put into perspective, real perspective, like, dude, I could
- 3:30Speaker 1: be here today and then I could be gone tomorrow.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And then when you really internalize that, like personally, then
- 3:36Speaker 1: you go to the next step. And the next step is,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and you've heard me say this, is like, dude, I
- 3:40Speaker 1: contemplate the death of my children, the death of my wife.
- 3:44Speaker 1: All of those contemplations give me true perspective in which
- 3:48Speaker 1: I live, which is I know how I want this
- 3:51Speaker 1: interaction to go. I don't want to fight. I don't
- 3:53Speaker 1: want to argue. I don't want to spend time doing stupid.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I don't want to waste time because the reality is
- 3:57Speaker 1: I just don't have that much, right? And even when
- 4:01Speaker 1: you came in, I told you if I could go
- 4:02Speaker 1: back and talk with God, I would give him one
- 4:04Speaker 1: piece of advice and I would say, hey, put an
- 4:06Speaker 1: hourglass on everybody's shoulder. I sure as no. There are
- 4:10Speaker 1: people wasting their lives right now that if they sat
- 4:13Speaker 1: and wasted their life and watched that hourglass go, they wouldn't,
- 4:16Speaker 1: they wouldn't do it because the perspective in which they
- 4:19Speaker 1: had knowing like I can sit here or I can
- 4:21Speaker 1: go get out of life what I want and do
- 4:24Speaker 1: what I want to do because this is running out,
- 4:28Speaker 1: you know?
- 4:29Speaker 2: That's a perfect segue because one of the big questions
- 4:31Speaker 2: I wanted to ask you, and it's something that I
- 4:33Speaker 2: love about the entire premise of the Limitless Society is you're,
- 4:38Speaker 2: you're unwavering belief in God and you're have no fear
- 4:42Speaker 2: of just telling people who you are why you're doing
- 4:44Speaker 2: it and how God is like the center point of
- 4:46Speaker 2: all of that so I'd love to just talk about
- 4:49Speaker 2: and almost I feel like someone in your position it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: almost it's almost like saying why do you still believe
- 4:54Speaker 2: in God because there's there's a lot of people that
- 4:56Speaker 2: have a hard time with that belief and I've even
- 4:59Speaker 2: heard you preaching it's like I don't care which one
- 5:01Speaker 2: is but freaking decide which I find it's awesome so
- 5:04Speaker 2: I'd love to talk to you about your belief and
- 5:06Speaker 2: why you're there still and And how that all has
- 5:09Speaker 2: kind of come about in your life.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You know, this weekend I did a mastermind in Cabo.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And I spoke quite a bit. And one of the
- 5:16Speaker 1: topics that I spoke on was coming to know who
- 5:20Speaker 1: you really are allows you to become the person to
- 5:24Speaker 1: make the decisions that you need to make in your life.
- 5:26Speaker 1: One of my good friends, Cody Sanchez, she's a business coach.
- 5:29Speaker 1: She's pretty famous. She says, if I took an entrepreneur
- 5:33Speaker 1: to dinner and I handed them a menu, I know
- 5:35Speaker 1: how successful they're going to be based on how long
- 5:38Speaker 1: it takes them to order off the menu. And what
- 5:40Speaker 1: she was talking about was the decisiveness, like the time
- 5:43Speaker 1: it takes to make a decision, right? And if it's short,
- 5:47Speaker 1: they'll be successful. If it's a long drawn out process,
- 5:50Speaker 1: they're not going to be successful. Well, the reality is,
- 5:53Speaker 1: is that we're talking about perspective. When you get into
- 5:55Speaker 1: the right perspective, you don't have any more time to
- 5:58Speaker 1: just sit and think on decisions that you're going to make.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So how do I, if I'm somebody who's indecisive, if
- 6:04Speaker 1: I take a long time to make decisions, how do
- 6:06Speaker 1: I change that? And this weekend, the principle that I
- 6:09Speaker 1: taught was you don't know who you are. And when
- 6:13Speaker 1: you find out who you are, you're able to make
- 6:16Speaker 1: those decisions much, much quicker. Well, how do you find
- 6:19Speaker 1: out who you are? And one of those simple pieces
- 6:22Speaker 1: is you should find out if you believe in God.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Whether that's you don't or you do, just get off
- 6:27Speaker 1: the fence, right? And the more that I come to
- 6:30Speaker 1: know In me, independent of any other person who God is,
- 6:34Speaker 1: it allows me to make the right decisions because I
- 6:36Speaker 1: know who I am. I'll tell you, like, I build leaders. Like,
- 6:40Speaker 1: that's what I want to build. And you're becoming a
- 6:41Speaker 1: great leader, like doing all this cool stuff. Building a
- 6:44Speaker 1: leader means helping someone come to know who they are.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Most people don't know who they are. And that's the problem,
- 6:52Speaker 1: is when times come, whether they're difficult, easy, stressful, angry,
- 6:56Speaker 1: whatever time comes, whatever chaos comes, I know I'm going
- 6:59Speaker 1: to make the right decision because I know exactly who
- 7:01Speaker 1: I am. And the problem is, is when you don't
- 7:04Speaker 1: know who you are, you're indecisive on everything. And every
- 7:07Speaker 1: little mistake you make and every success you see is
- 7:09Speaker 1: drawn out because the decision time that it took to
- 7:12Speaker 1: make it was drawn out. So I preach this all
- 7:16Speaker 1: the time. You should come to know who you are
- 7:18Speaker 1: and this is how you do it. And I'll just
- 7:20Speaker 1: run it through like just a quick example for the listeners.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Number one, you should figure out what your core values are.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Most people don't really know what their core values are, right?
- 7:29Speaker 1: You write down your core values. I wanna be good
- 7:31Speaker 1: to people. I wanna be a good dad. I wanna
- 7:33Speaker 1: make a lot of money. I wanna be happy. I
- 7:34Speaker 1: wanna take care of people, right? And you list out
- 7:37Speaker 1: your core values, which is something most people have never done,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but you should do it. Then, and this is where
- 7:42Speaker 1: it gets hard, you draw a line down the middle
- 7:45Speaker 1: of that. And on that line, you write, what am
- 7:48Speaker 1: I willing to die for? That changes quite a bit
- 7:53Speaker 1: of those core values. Now, I did this once and
- 7:55Speaker 1: I wrote, I want to help other people, right? That
- 7:58Speaker 1: was my core value. And then I asked the question,
- 8:01Speaker 1: am I willing to die to help other people? What
- 8:05Speaker 1: do you think the answer was? Yes. No, the answer
- 8:08Speaker 1: was no. The answer was absolutely not. Now, let me
- 8:11Speaker 1: tell you why. And this is why you do this exercise. Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I have five children and a wife. I'm not willing
- 8:17Speaker 1: to leave them fatherless and leave my wife husbandless to
- 8:20Speaker 1: help other people. My duty and my role is to
- 8:24Speaker 1: them first. Gotcha. So I asked that question, am I
- 8:27Speaker 1: willing to die for this? And I said, no, I'm not.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So I crossed that off. I went down that list.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You know, one of the things I said was honor
- 8:33Speaker 1: and integrity above all else. I asked the question, am
- 8:37Speaker 1: I willing to die for honor and integrity? Yes, I am.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I'm okay for my children to stand at my grave
- 8:45Speaker 1: and say, my dad died for honor and integrity. He
- 8:50Speaker 1: lived and died on those principles, and I'm okay with that.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So from the list of core values, I create a
- 8:56Speaker 1: new list, and that list is my favorite list in
- 8:59Speaker 1: the whole world. It's called ethos. Your ethos. There isn't
- 9:02Speaker 1: a human being on this planet who is a good
- 9:05Speaker 1: leader who doesn't have ethos. Ethos is really simple. It
- 9:08Speaker 1: is a guiding belief. It is the platform on which
- 9:12Speaker 1: you make decisions. If I don't have that platform set up,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I can't make the decisions, which then I go back Well,
- 9:19Speaker 1: why does it take you so long to make decisions?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Because you don't have a real ethos. You don't know
- 9:23Speaker 1: who you are. So I fill out this whole list
- 9:26Speaker 1: of core values. I transfer from that list to my ethos.
- 9:29Speaker 1: What am I willing to die for? That list is
- 9:32Speaker 1: much shorter. In that list, I create who I am.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I come up with my ethos. What am I willing
- 9:41Speaker 1: to die for? And when I create that list and
- 9:43Speaker 1: I build that platform, everything that comes my way, every
- 9:46Speaker 1: question that comes, every decision I need to make, I
- 9:49Speaker 1: immediately go to my ethos. I'm no longer going back
- 9:52Speaker 1: and forth and saying, well, I wanna help that person,
- 9:55Speaker 1: but it's gonna affect how I take care of my family.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That's not a question anymore. My family comes first. So
- 10:01Speaker 1: doing that allows a human being to find out who
- 10:04Speaker 1: they are. One of my best friends who I was
- 10:06Speaker 1: with this weekend, his name's Rob Bailey. Love Rob's music.
- 10:09Speaker 1: One of his songs says, look at yourself in the
- 10:12Speaker 1: mirror and tell me who you are. Most people are
- 10:15Speaker 1: not willing to do that. Most people have never done that.
- 10:17Speaker 1: But when you do that, when you go through this
- 10:20Speaker 1: actual exercise, you find out who you really are and
- 10:25Speaker 1: every single decision becomes crystal clear and you make it
- 10:28Speaker 1: at the drop of a hat. Now, I'm not saying
- 10:30Speaker 1: I don't make mistakes because I make tons of mistakes.
- 10:32Speaker 1: But in my process of decision making, I make a
- 10:35Speaker 1: mistake and then I fix it as soon as I can.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So I make mistake, I fix it. I fail, I
- 10:41Speaker 1: fix it. I make mistake, I fix it. Rather than
- 10:43Speaker 1: a drawn out process that takes a normal person 30 days,
- 10:46Speaker 1: it takes me 30 minutes. That's how I get to
- 10:49Speaker 1: where I want to be and that's how I build
- 10:51Speaker 1: what I want to build. And your ethos is only
- 10:54Speaker 1: built on a very simple principle of do I believe
- 10:58Speaker 1: in God or don't I? Because I can't answer that
- 11:01Speaker 1: question if I don't know where I stand. And again,
- 11:04Speaker 1: I'm okay with any man or woman who is off
- 11:06Speaker 1: of the fence and says I do not believe in
- 11:09Speaker 1: God or I 100% believe in God. I'm not okay
- 11:12Speaker 1: with those people that live right there on the fence.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Even Christ said, I hate lukewarm. I will spit that
- 11:18Speaker 1: out of my mouth. I either want you cold or
- 11:21Speaker 1: I want you hot. And that's the difference for people
- 11:24Speaker 1: to succeed is finding out who they are. Find out
- 11:28Speaker 1: what your core values are. Find out what you believe.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Find out what your ethos is. Your ethos is your
- 11:32Speaker 1: guiding belief and it's the guiding belief that allows you
- 11:35Speaker 1: to make decisions. You are the sum total of your thoughts.
- 11:39Speaker 1: If I wish to change the sum total of you,
- 11:42Speaker 1: I must change your thoughts. Well, how do I do that?
- 11:45Speaker 1: I force you into the decision-making process and allow you
- 11:49Speaker 1: to do it and make it much quicker because you
- 11:52Speaker 1: know who you are. That's how you change.
- 11:54Speaker 2: For people that are on the fence, and I don't
- 11:56Speaker 2: know if you were ever there, what is your advice
- 12:00Speaker 2: to get off?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Pertaining to God? Yeah. This is a really, really simple one,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and this one's probably not going to sit well with
- 12:06Speaker 1: a lot of people because it takes a lot of context,
- 12:08Speaker 1: but I'm not going to give a lot of context.
- 12:10Speaker 1: In my faith... there's a scripture that I love and
- 12:15Speaker 1: it's a young man, his name's Enos. And he says,
- 12:18Speaker 1: I went into the wilderness with my father for hunting.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And my dad had taught me all of these things
- 12:23Speaker 1: about God. He taught me all of these things about
- 12:26Speaker 1: the life, you know, eternal life, all that stuff. And
- 12:29Speaker 1: I didn't really believe it. So I went out into
- 12:32Speaker 1: the forest and I, he says a very specific word.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I knelt down and I wrestled with God. He didn't
- 12:40Speaker 1: say I prayed. He didn't say I argued. He didn't
- 12:42Speaker 1: say I had a conversation. He said I wrestled. Now,
- 12:45Speaker 1: in high school, I wrestled. I played a ton of sports.
- 12:49Speaker 1: If you've ever wrestled, there isn't anything physically harder than wrestling.
- 12:53Speaker 1: There just isn't. You go all out for three minutes,
- 12:55Speaker 1: three rounds, or five rounds. It's not easy. The reason
- 12:58Speaker 1: Enos said wrestle is because it will be the hardest
- 13:01Speaker 1: thing you physically, mentally, and spiritually have ever done. So
- 13:05Speaker 1: for those people who are on that fence... You know
- 13:07Speaker 1: what my challenge would be? You need to wrestle with God.
- 13:10Speaker 1: And I'll tell you this. And again, this is where
- 13:12Speaker 1: it offends people. Like when I wrestle with God, it's
- 13:14Speaker 1: not nice. I don't hold punches. Enos said he wrestled
- 13:18Speaker 1: with God for a full day. And then at the
- 13:21Speaker 1: end of the day, like that's a long time. Most
- 13:23Speaker 1: people can't sit down and pray for 10 minutes, let
- 13:26Speaker 1: alone wrestle for a night. If you want to find
- 13:30Speaker 1: out who God is or if he exists or if
- 13:33Speaker 1: he doesn't, here would be the challenge. Go wrestle with him.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Really wrestle with him. Take the time, put in the energy,
- 13:42Speaker 1: put in everything you have. And here's the best, this
- 13:44Speaker 1: is the best promise. You either get an answer or
- 13:47Speaker 1: you don't. And then the best part is, is one
- 13:50Speaker 1: day if there is a God and you never got
- 13:52Speaker 1: an answer and you stand in front of him and
- 13:53Speaker 1: you go, you know what? I didn't believe in you.
- 13:55Speaker 1: You know why I didn't believe in you? Because I
- 13:57Speaker 1: put in the time and energy to wrestle with you
- 13:59Speaker 1: and I got nothing. I got nothing. And so I
- 14:02Speaker 1: didn't believe in you. And I guarantee you that day,
- 14:04Speaker 1: God's going to say, yeah, I totally understand that. If
- 14:07Speaker 1: you didn't get anything and you put in the time
- 14:09Speaker 1: and energy and I didn't answer you, I understand why
- 14:11Speaker 1: you didn't believe in me. Now, I don't believe that.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I think every man and woman that puts themselves in
- 14:16Speaker 1: a position to really wrestle with God, and by the way,
- 14:18Speaker 1: wrestling with God, it's not nice. It's not filled with
- 14:22Speaker 1: a little emotion. It's a lot. You're screaming and yelling.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You're doing everything you have and you're putting it all
- 14:28Speaker 1: out there and you're asking in return that you get
- 14:30Speaker 1: something back that allows you to grow in that faith.
- 14:34Speaker 1: So for those people who are on the fence, which
- 14:35Speaker 1: is the majority of people, You know what I say?
- 14:38Speaker 1: You just haven't put in the time and the energy
- 14:41Speaker 1: to wrestle with that maker. And here's the best part.
- 14:44Speaker 1: If there is a God, he's obviously perfect and he
- 14:50Speaker 1: obviously has the truth of all things. Not just the
- 14:52Speaker 1: truth of things pertaining to the gospel, not just the
- 14:54Speaker 1: truth of things pertaining to that which you think is right.
- 14:57Speaker 1: the truth of everything. So if I build a business,
- 15:00Speaker 1: if I build a family, if I build leadership, if
- 15:02Speaker 1: I build anything, I can literally go to that source
- 15:05Speaker 1: who's the truth of everything and get the things that
- 15:07Speaker 1: I need to do that. It's not just, hey, pray
- 15:11Speaker 1: and help me figure out this or figure out that.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Put your pride down. Like right now, dude, when I
- 15:17Speaker 1: have issues pertaining to anything, I'm having conversations with the
- 15:21Speaker 1: man who has the truth of everything. I'm asking stupid questions.
- 15:26Speaker 1: That most people say, why are you praying about that?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Because I need to know the answer. And that's the
- 15:29Speaker 1: only one that I have that gives me the answer.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And everything I build, my family, my relationships, my businesses,
- 15:38Speaker 1: everything goes all the way back to the fact that
- 15:40Speaker 1: I know there's a God. I know he answers me.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I know he's the truth of everything. And I want
- 15:44Speaker 1: to go to the truth as much as I can
- 15:46Speaker 1: to get the truth so I can make the decisions
- 15:47Speaker 1: I need to make. That's how you do it. I
- 15:50Speaker 1: love that.
- 15:51Speaker 2: One of my favorite parts about The Limitless Society is
- 15:55Speaker 2: the entire premise of it. And you say regularly, which is,
- 15:59Speaker 2: if there is a God, then you are his child.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And that makes you there his heir. And you literally
- 16:06Speaker 2: have no limit. And for me, that's something that rings true.
- 16:12Speaker 2: And I think about the hourglass and it's already changing
- 16:15Speaker 2: my life. And so I'd like to, again, invite people
- 16:17Speaker 2: to think about that. And whether or not you get
- 16:20Speaker 2: off the freaking fence. And hopefully if you get to
- 16:23Speaker 2: the other side, and I'm not gonna judge you either
- 16:25Speaker 2: way either, but if you find out that God is
- 16:28Speaker 2: real after you've wrestled with him, please understand who you
- 16:31Speaker 2: are and that you can do anything. And I love
- 16:35Speaker 2: that that's what you do. That's a part of your ethos, right?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the premise on which everything I build. You know,
- 16:41Speaker 1: it's so easy to say that we're limitless and everybody's like,
- 16:43Speaker 1: what does that really mean? It's almost become cliche. Yeah. Movies. Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: It's like, what does that really mean? But the truth is,
- 16:50Speaker 1: is that we really are limitless. And I love this explanation.
- 16:53Speaker 1: You know, I have a helicopter. In the 1800s, some
- 16:57Speaker 1: crazy son of a decided he wanted to fly with birds.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And everybody around him was like, you're stupid. You're crazy.
- 17:04Speaker 1: We don't even have automobiles. And you're talking about flying
- 17:06Speaker 1: with birds. And at some point from the 1800s to today,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I get the opportunity to jump in a helicopter with
- 17:13Speaker 1: my family and go fly with birds because he didn't
- 17:16Speaker 1: believe in limitations and he never gave up on that.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And because of him, we have ultimately created what we
- 17:20Speaker 1: have now, which is I get to go fly with birds.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I get to literally go sit in the air because
- 17:25Speaker 1: he at some point believed like, I know this is delusional.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I know it's crazy, but I just don't see a limitation.
- 17:30Speaker 1: And I think that we can make it happen. The
- 17:32Speaker 1: truth is, is nothing is without reach. It's just time
- 17:35Speaker 1: to reach it. And maybe that's what we have to accept.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Maybe we just say, ah, it's not that I can't
- 17:40Speaker 1: do it. It's that I'm not going to put in
- 17:42Speaker 1: enough time to do it.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And that's a different conversation. Is it impossible? No, it's
- 17:47Speaker 1: not impossible. But it's going to take me more time
- 17:50Speaker 1: than I'm willing to put in. You know, just like
- 17:52Speaker 1: the guy in the 1800s, he probably never saw a
- 17:54Speaker 1: flying helicopter. Yeah. But because of him and the time
- 17:57Speaker 1: that has passed since then, we now have the opportunity
- 18:00Speaker 1: to fly with birds. The truth is, is like you said,
- 18:04Speaker 1: if God's real... and he's our father, and we're his heir,
- 18:07Speaker 1: and he's perfect, that means we're heir to him, and
- 18:10Speaker 1: that means that we have the ability to do everything
- 18:12Speaker 1: that he can do, which is everything. There is no
- 18:14Speaker 1: impossible anymore. That's why I created the name Limitless Society.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And the truth is, dude, I will spend the rest
- 18:21Speaker 1: of my life trying to adequately portray to people, you
- 18:26Speaker 1: have the ability to accomplish anything you want to accomplish,
- 18:29Speaker 1: but you have to first comprehend and conceive that it's possible.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Once you do that, once the mind can actually comprehend
- 18:39Speaker 1: it and conceive it, then you can go and achieve it.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And if all I do for the rest of my
- 18:43Speaker 1: life is just convince people to go after it and
- 18:46Speaker 1: believe that it's possible, I will feel fulfilled. I don't
- 18:51Speaker 1: have all the answers. I just know that the ultimate
- 18:53Speaker 1: answer is that there's nothing that is without reach and
- 18:56Speaker 1: nothing is impossible. There is no limit except for the
- 18:58Speaker 1: limit you put in your own mind. But if I
- 19:01Speaker 1: build the premise that there are no limits, I start
- 19:04Speaker 1: to begin to rework everything I've ever believed. And that's
- 19:08Speaker 1: when real happens. That's when real success happens, which is
- 19:11Speaker 1: a beautiful thing.
- 19:11Speaker 2: And you're not just seeing it in your own life,
- 19:13Speaker 2: but you're seeing it time and time again with everyone
- 19:16Speaker 2: that you're working with. And that becomes quite a snowball effect.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Prioritize your life, kind of where it all came from.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I was literally in this moment of my life where
- 19:27Speaker 2: I was trying to figure out, I knew that I
- 19:29Speaker 2: wanted to do certain things. was kind of in a
- 19:31Speaker 2: holding pattern and I got on my knees and I
- 19:33Speaker 2: prayed and I was just like help me find a
- 19:35Speaker 2: way and it wasn't much longer I bumped into a
- 19:38Speaker 2: neighbor of mine and I had heard somewhere that he
- 19:40Speaker 2: had an experience I didn't know really what it was
- 19:43Speaker 2: something smacked me harder than you can imagine it said
- 19:46Speaker 2: you need to help him share his story I was like, okay,
- 19:48Speaker 2: this is going to be awkward, but if I don't
- 19:50Speaker 2: follow that, I'm going to regret it for the rest
- 19:52Speaker 2: of my life. So I just went up to him
- 19:53Speaker 2: and was like, hey, I have a studio. I'd like
- 19:56Speaker 2: to help you share your story, whatever the heck that is.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And he was like, okay, let me talk to my
- 20:01Speaker 2: wife about it. And then what happened after that is
- 20:03Speaker 2: still kind of just blows my mind. We threw it
- 20:05Speaker 2: up and it's one of the most viewed interviews in history.
- 20:08Speaker 2: And it's a near-death experience. But what I found fascinating
- 20:13Speaker 2: is as you look through the comments, it has almost 50,000
- 20:16Speaker 2: comments on that video, you start seeing human nature. And
- 20:20Speaker 2: there are some trends and things that people commonly ask.
- 20:24Speaker 2: One of the first ones is if there is a God,
- 20:26Speaker 2: why is there so much hate? And why... Why are
- 20:30Speaker 2: things so bad? Why are there natural disasters? So I
- 20:34Speaker 2: think that'd be an interesting one to discuss.
- 20:36Speaker 1: You know, I actually love that conversation because that's, I think,
- 20:38Speaker 1: what most people have. That's a question most people have.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Why do children die?
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think it keeps them on the fence, right?
- 20:44Speaker 1: Absolutely. Like if he really loves us, why does he
- 20:46Speaker 1: allow us to have that? And my first thing that
- 20:49Speaker 1: I would go back to is your whole belief in,
- 20:52Speaker 1: is that next life better than this? And I think
- 20:56Speaker 1: it is. So if I was in a waiting room,
- 21:00Speaker 1: I knew the next room was just the best place
- 21:02Speaker 1: in the whole world. Why would I be upset that
- 21:03Speaker 1: people left the waiting room? That would be my first thing.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Like you need to understand where people are going. Death
- 21:09Speaker 1: is not a bad thing. Death is a reward. And
- 21:12Speaker 1: most people don't look at death that way. And that's hard, right?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Death is a reward. It's a reward away from all
- 21:17Speaker 1: the pain and suffering. But here's my answer to that.
- 21:21Speaker 1: We came down here and we said, I want to
- 21:24Speaker 1: go down and gain experience. And in experience, I want
- 21:27Speaker 1: to learn and grow, right? And God said, okay. But
- 21:30Speaker 1: in experience and in free will, I'm giving you the
- 21:33Speaker 1: ability to do whatever you want to do, whatever that is.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I cannot take that from you. Most people have bad experiences.
- 21:42Speaker 1: They were from other people's ability to make decisions that
- 21:47Speaker 1: God didn't step in, right? To say that God caused
- 21:50Speaker 1: something is to abnegate your own responsibility. Like to say, well,
- 21:55Speaker 1: that happened because of God isn't really a fair conversation now.
- 22:00Speaker 1: With that understanding, I go all the way back. And
- 22:03Speaker 1: this is where it gets really beautiful. You know, I've
- 22:05Speaker 1: struggled a lot with why did my dad die when
- 22:08Speaker 1: I was 21? It's been something I've struggled with every
- 22:11Speaker 1: time I have a child, every great experience I have.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I'm like, it's just really hard. I wish my dad
- 22:17Speaker 1: was here. But in understanding a really, really cool principle,
- 22:21Speaker 1: it's allowed me to accept the truth of that question.
- 22:24Speaker 1: And the question isn't why does God allow it, but
- 22:27Speaker 1: why did I choose it? So every single one of
- 22:30Speaker 1: us at some point in our lives before we came here,
- 22:33Speaker 1: we signed up for this stuff. We sat with God
- 22:36Speaker 1: and he said, you're going to go down and there's
- 22:38Speaker 1: going to be despair and fear and pain and sorrow.
- 22:43Speaker 1: And we probably asked the question like, well, why, why
- 22:45Speaker 1: are we going down to that? And it was a
- 22:47Speaker 1: really simple answer. It was for your experience. Because in
- 22:51Speaker 1: experiences where you grow, it's where you learn. Think about
- 22:53Speaker 1: the hardest times of your life, the darkest moments in
- 22:56Speaker 1: your life. That's where you learned the most. The greatest
- 23:00Speaker 1: teacher is pain. So we said to God, okay, I
- 23:03Speaker 1: wanna learn and I wanna become like you and I
- 23:05Speaker 1: wanna grow and I wanna progress. And he goes, okay,
- 23:07Speaker 1: but you must first experience. And then experience, it's gonna
- 23:11Speaker 1: be hard, it's gonna be painful, it's gonna be sorrowful.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I know, I still wanna go down and I wanna
- 23:17Speaker 1: be a part of it. And the most beautiful thing
- 23:19Speaker 1: that I've ever thought and or put together is every
- 23:23Speaker 1: one of us that go through the things that we
- 23:25Speaker 1: go through in life, we signed up for that. My
- 23:28Speaker 1: dad signed up. And said, you know what? I'm going
- 23:31Speaker 1: to die at 47. And in my death, I will
- 23:35Speaker 1: teach my children things I never could have taught them.
- 23:38Speaker 1: So my question could be, God, why did you allow it?
- 23:41Speaker 1: And God would say, I didn't. Your father signed up
- 23:44Speaker 1: for that because he knew that's what he needed to
- 23:46Speaker 1: do to teach you. Why do children die? Those children
- 23:50Speaker 1: signed up for that. so that they could teach what
- 23:53Speaker 1: needed to be taught to those around them. When do
- 23:55Speaker 1: you see the most beautiful experiences in life? It's when
- 23:58Speaker 1: people come together during tragedy. When do you learn the most?
- 24:02Speaker 1: It's in the deepest and darkest painful moments of your life.
- 24:05Speaker 1: If we take all of that out, what experience do
- 24:08Speaker 1: we have? We all know that there's happiness and there's sorrow,
- 24:12Speaker 1: and they are completely opposite. I cannot feel happiness without
- 24:16Speaker 1: knowing what sorrow is. I can't do it. So God said,
- 24:20Speaker 1: how much do you want to learn? I said, I
- 24:21Speaker 1: want to learn everything. Well, then you're going to have
- 24:24Speaker 1: to experience the most low of lows and the most
- 24:27Speaker 1: painful of painful so that you know what the high
- 24:31Speaker 1: of highs is and the happiness is. And he signed
- 24:34Speaker 1: up to do this and he signed up to do
- 24:36Speaker 1: this and he signed up to do that so that
- 24:38Speaker 1: you could learn. And if I look at life differently
- 24:41Speaker 1: and I say, you know what, dude, this is about experience.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'm no longer asking the question, why does God allow it? Rather,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I'm grateful to God for giving it to me and
- 24:50Speaker 1: allowing it to happen for me and teaching me. The
- 24:54Speaker 1: man I am today would never have been that man
- 24:57Speaker 1: if my father was still alive. It wouldn't have happened.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I don't know where I would be. I don't. I
- 25:02Speaker 1: don't know what kind of leader I would be. I
- 25:03Speaker 1: don't know how much money I would make, but I
- 25:04Speaker 1: know for sure if he was still here, it wouldn't
- 25:08Speaker 1: have been the same experiences and the same knowledge that
- 25:10Speaker 1: I gained when he died. And if I start looking
- 25:13Speaker 1: at that way, and this is my favorite thing in
- 25:15Speaker 1: the whole world, My entire mindset shifts from why me
- 25:21Speaker 1: to thank you so much to doing this for me.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Because life is for me. It's not happening to me.
- 25:28Speaker 1: And when I look at it that way, my prayers
- 25:30Speaker 1: are different. When I go through sorrow and pain and
- 25:33Speaker 1: anguish and I lose people and people are suffering, I
- 25:38Speaker 1: now say, you know what, Heavenly Father? I'm just so
- 25:40Speaker 1: grateful that you're allowing this so that I can learn
- 25:43Speaker 1: what I need to learn. And I'm grateful for all
- 25:47Speaker 1: of it. You know, if you go all the way
- 25:49Speaker 1: back into the New Testament and we talk about the
- 25:51Speaker 1: life of Christ and we talk about his suffering in
- 25:54Speaker 1: the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross and all
- 25:56Speaker 1: the crazy things he went through, so many people would say, why?
- 26:00Speaker 1: And I don't say why. I say, you know what
- 26:03Speaker 1: I'm so grateful for? I'm so grateful for a God
- 26:06Speaker 1: in heaven that watched his child go through that, who
- 26:11Speaker 1: could have stepped in at any moment and taken that.
- 26:14Speaker 1: But then we wouldn't have had what we had. It
- 26:17Speaker 1: wouldn't have happened. So my conversation now changes from why
- 26:20Speaker 1: do you allow that to happen to thank you for
- 26:23Speaker 1: allowing it to happen for the betterment of me and
- 26:25Speaker 1: my life. Because everything is different. And without this, I
- 26:29Speaker 1: wouldn't be where I am. I would never have grown
- 26:32Speaker 1: to what I wanted to grow to. I signed up
- 26:34Speaker 1: to grow a long time ago. So to say I
- 26:37Speaker 1: signed up to grow and then say, well, why am
- 26:40Speaker 1: I going through so many hard things that make me
- 26:41Speaker 1: grow is not a fair question anymore. Rather, the question
- 26:45Speaker 1: or the statement is, I'm just really, really grateful that
- 26:49Speaker 1: I get to go through that. And that's a hard conversation.
- 26:52Speaker 1: You know, we have a kid that we're working with
- 26:54Speaker 1: right now who got diagnosed with cancer. He's eight years old.
- 26:57Speaker 1: And the conversation for me is no longer like, God,
- 27:00Speaker 1: why are you letting this happen to this child? But rather,
- 27:02Speaker 1: what am I supposed to learn? And thank you so
- 27:05Speaker 1: much for this opportunity of growth. And that changes everything.
- 27:11Speaker 2: It's so starkly different from where I feel like the
- 27:14Speaker 2: entire world is going, which is entitlement and complaining and
- 27:18Speaker 2: getting pissed off at everything.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 2: The smallest offense your life is over. It's just to
- 27:23Speaker 2: be grateful for your struggle.
- 27:25Speaker 1: It's like sitting in a classroom that you've been taught
- 27:28Speaker 1: and then saying, hey, I want to learn this. I
- 27:30Speaker 1: need to grow. I need to become whatever knowledgeable. And
- 27:33Speaker 1: then the teacher handing you the test, which is hard
- 27:35Speaker 1: as and you going, why, why? Well, you said you
- 27:40Speaker 1: wanted to grow. You said you wanted to learn. This
- 27:42Speaker 1: is how we do it. You don't get to ask
- 27:44Speaker 1: why anymore. You should be grateful for the test because
- 27:47Speaker 1: that's the end goal here. And the thing is, if
- 27:50Speaker 1: I asked every human being, do you want to be better?
- 27:53Speaker 1: Do you want to progress? Every single one of them
- 27:55Speaker 1: would say yes. But that same human being, when they're
- 27:58Speaker 1: faced with something that allows them to grow, what do
- 28:00Speaker 1: they do? Why me? Why is this happening? Well, because
- 28:05Speaker 1: at some point you said you wanted to grow. You
- 28:07Speaker 1: wanted to learn. And this is how you do it.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Stop asking why me and start being grateful for every opportunity,
- 28:14Speaker 1: every circumstance, every instance that allows you to grow. And dude,
- 28:20Speaker 1: it changes everything. Because again, and this is such a
- 28:23Speaker 1: cliche saying, your mindset is everything. So then my question
- 28:27Speaker 1: would be for those people, what if you were just
- 28:30Speaker 1: grateful for all of it? What if instead of waking
- 28:35Speaker 1: up and saying, I'm grateful for my beautiful family, I'm
- 28:37Speaker 1: grateful for all this money, I'm grateful for all these successes.
- 28:39Speaker 1: What if I'm grateful for the pain and I'm grateful
- 28:42Speaker 1: for the sorrow and I'm grateful that my father passed away.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I'm grateful for every circumstance that is allowing me to grow,
- 28:49Speaker 1: to become better. Because at some point we're going to
- 28:52Speaker 1: stand before God and we're going to look back at
- 28:54Speaker 1: this and he's going to go, that was hard, right?
- 28:55Speaker 1: You go, yeah. And he's going to say, did you learn?
- 28:58Speaker 1: And you say, yeah, I learned so much. And he's like,
- 29:00Speaker 1: I'm so grateful for where you are today. And you're
- 29:02Speaker 1: going to say, I'm so grateful for it too. Thank
- 29:05Speaker 1: you so much for that because I'm different today. I'm progressed.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I'm closer to becoming like you. But that conversation can't
- 29:13Speaker 1: be had then. It needs to be had right now
- 29:15Speaker 1: because this life has only been given to us for
- 29:17Speaker 1: just a small moment. And in that life, we get
- 29:20Speaker 1: the opportunity to grow or not to grow. And the
- 29:24Speaker 1: people who are asking the question, why me? Why this?
- 29:26Speaker 1: Why did God do that? They're not growing. Those who
- 29:30Speaker 1: are thankful for all of it are the ones who
- 29:31Speaker 1: are truly progressing and growing. And that's the most beautiful
- 29:34Speaker 1: thing about life.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I love that you brought up the classroom because one
- 29:37Speaker 2: of my favorite things that I've taken from interviewing a
- 29:40Speaker 2: good number of people that have had near-death experiences, one
- 29:44Speaker 2: of the gentlemen, he says that his biggest takeaway is
- 29:47Speaker 2: that life is a school and it's the hardest school
- 29:50Speaker 2: for souls that exist.
- 29:53Speaker 1: And that it.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Makes it more beautiful too, because you think, yeah, you
- 29:56Speaker 2: go to school, then you go home. Sometimes school sucks.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So I love that you brought that up, the classroom,
- 30:02Speaker 2: because that's one of my favorite ways to think about life.
- 30:05Speaker 2: And I think if we can focus on that and
- 30:07Speaker 2: be grateful for everything, just like you said, it totally,
- 30:10Speaker 2: completely changes your life.
- 30:11Speaker 1: And that's really just one small switch that people can make. Like,
- 30:15Speaker 1: what if I was just grateful for all of it?
- 30:19Speaker 1: What if I was just grateful for all of it?
- 30:21Speaker 1: And in that gratitude, everything shifts. Instead of life happening
- 30:25Speaker 1: to me, life happens for me. And when it happens
- 30:28Speaker 1: for me, it means it progresses me. And I'm just
- 30:31Speaker 1: grateful for all of that. And that's a huge shift
- 30:34Speaker 1: that I wish more people would begin to fathom and
- 30:37Speaker 1: start doing.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Thank you so much, man, for your time today. This
- 30:40Speaker 2: was beautiful. Appreciate it.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Absolutely, man. I appreciate being on. Thank you.
