- 1:07provarati had a dehumidifier in every room
- 1:09he was ever in of course and if
- 1:16not he should have
- 1:20if not he should i am i am
- 1:22chugging liquids like nobody's business i
- 1:24can't even yeah dude i wouldn't know what
- 1:27to do with myself scott the first time
- 1:29i went to legends in arizona i
- 1:32legitimately felt like an actual fish out
- 1:34of water because i did not know what
- 1:36to do with myself i was like
- 1:38Everything always is dry here.
- 1:40Like, what is happening?
- 1:41I feel like I was breathing dust the
- 1:43entire time.
- 1:44It's weird.
- 1:44It's called a desert.
- 1:46Yeah, I'm aware.
- 1:47I'm aware.
- 1:48That doesn't mean that I wasn't.
- 1:50You're in the chowder of humidity.
- 1:52I am below sea level.
- 1:54As we speak, I am technically underwater.
- 1:59Ah.
- 2:00Do you remember the Seinfeld episode when
- 2:04Kramer claimed that if you swim in like
- 2:07clam chowder,
- 2:08it would be like resistance training?
- 2:12No, but holy shit, that's funny.
- 2:20Oh, good night.
- 2:22And the air in Louisiana is not soupy.
- 2:25It is like chowdery.
- 2:26Yeah, it's well beyond soup.
- 2:29Soup has broth.
- 2:30We don't have broth.
- 2:31We got a cream base.
- 2:31All right.
- 2:36Well,
- 2:36I'm going to open the show with some
- 2:37sad news.
- 2:40I got a message from a loyal listener,
- 2:43always in the chat.
- 2:45He's known as Fergie.
- 2:47He's also known by Jeff Ferguson.
- 2:53He turned in his Clydesdale card today.
- 3:01Yep.
- 3:05Fergie is now under two-twenty for the
- 3:07first time in a very, very long time.
- 3:10And the man,
- 3:12you can't see it in this picture,
- 3:13but the full picture I got,
- 3:15dude's getting like washboard.
- 3:17He is jacked, dude.
- 3:20It's like a figure competitor.
- 3:21Like, it's insane.
- 3:24Yeah, it is.
- 3:25I am so proud of him.
- 3:28He told me a story,
- 3:29the stuff he's had to overcome to get
- 3:32there.
- 3:33So now he has converted his Clydesdale
- 3:36card into the pink pony card.
- 3:39Which is slightly different.
- 3:40I mean the pony card.
- 3:41Yeah, pony card.
- 3:43There it is.
- 3:45There we go.
- 3:46Check him out, y'all.
- 3:48yeah um use that door for reference guys
- 3:51that fergie's a big dude yeah like he's
- 3:54tall and not just tall to me he's
- 3:57tall he's actually tall uh yeah he's i
- 4:01think he's six four six yeah six four
- 4:04six five something like that yeah he's big
- 4:06um and for him to be that lean
- 4:08at this point dude um is ridiculous
- 4:14Yeah.
- 4:15Mark Phillips, you are dead on.
- 4:17That man chops down trees with one swipe.
- 4:19Absolutely, he does.
- 4:20I like this.
- 4:22Jacked and tanned, baby.
- 4:23Jacked and tanned.
- 4:27Fergie would have fit right at home.
- 4:31Fergie shared with me that he's been
- 4:33fighting arthritis issues and finally got
- 4:38to...
- 4:39Shannon will probably correct me here.
- 4:41A rheumatoid,
- 4:43like a doctor that deals with arthritis.
- 4:46Rheumatologist?
- 4:48Yeah, there you go.
- 4:49Thank you.
- 4:49Probably a rheumatologist,
- 4:51if I had to guess.
- 4:52And I think you are correct.
- 4:53Whoops, sorry.
- 4:55Now he's a thoroughbred.
- 4:56Yeah, maybe that's the card.
- 4:58From Clydesdale to thoroughbred.
- 5:01Yeah,
- 5:01we could probably skip right over Pony
- 5:03completely.
- 5:03Let's be honest.
- 5:04That's kind of.
- 5:08But yeah, those are goals, man.
- 5:11Those are goals.
- 5:13Yeah, man.
- 5:14Good on him, dude.
- 5:15Good on him.
- 5:15Proud of him.
- 5:21I was sharing with him that I've been
- 5:23on my own journey and down sixty five
- 5:27and I'm just trying to catch him.
- 5:29Just trying to catch him.
- 5:31Probably both of y'all, man.
- 5:35It's not an easy thing to do.
- 5:37It's just not.
- 5:37I don't give a damn what anybody says.
- 5:39It's not.
- 5:39If you're doing it the correct way,
- 5:41it is not an easy thing to do.
- 5:45I met a girl at camp over the
- 5:48weekend who lost over a hundred.
- 5:52She looks like a completely different
- 5:53human being.
- 5:54um and she did it like you know
- 5:57we were talking about it and uh you
- 5:59know I said what what was the catalyst
- 6:01for you and she said I woke up
- 6:04angry one day just tired of it just
- 6:09just mad at myself mad at how how
- 6:11far I had gotten come and whatnot and
- 6:15she said I had had enough and um
- 6:17her story was amazing it's not mine to
- 6:19tell just tell a little part of it
- 6:20but she's amazing human being I showed her
- 6:22my
- 6:24formerly fat guy pictures that I keep on
- 6:26my phone that I keep of myself to
- 6:28remind myself of, you know,
- 6:30in those days I look at pictures of
- 6:32me, I'm like, you know,
- 6:34All we ever see is, uh,
- 6:36whenever you have that residual self
- 6:38image, all you ever see is the, the,
- 6:40the flaws, right?
- 6:43Uh, that's still there.
- 6:43And it's real easy to get lost in
- 6:46that instead of remembering how far you've
- 6:48come, um, which is why all the time.
- 6:52So kudos to her kudos to Fergie and
- 6:55kudos to you for, uh,
- 6:57staying the course and keeping at it, man.
- 6:59It's not an easy thing to do.
- 7:02Yep.
- 7:02Well, with that,
- 7:06I took my daughter out for dinner last
- 7:07night and a couple of her friends and
- 7:10my wife.
- 7:11And we went to this place called Ocean
- 7:13Star.
- 7:14It is a seafood sushi.
- 7:19I know.
- 7:19I know.
- 7:20In the middle of Montana.
- 7:25I would have chose like a steakhouse or
- 7:27something like that because they're kind
- 7:28of known for their beef here.
- 7:30where can i get a buffalo steak that's
- 7:32what i would have been looking for if
- 7:33i was in montana where can i get
- 7:35a buffalo steak but my wife uh or
- 7:38not my wife my daughter is a massive
- 7:41sushi fan and uh so we took her
- 7:44out last night as it was her last
- 7:46night to hang out and um
- 7:50I got the worst service I've ever had
- 7:53in my life.
- 7:54Well, not ever, but pretty bad.
- 7:59So it's,
- 8:00it's an all you can eat restaurant.
- 8:02You look at the menu,
- 8:03you tell them what sushi roll you want
- 8:05or what seafood or whatever,
- 8:07they bring it to your table and then
- 8:09you can order as much as you want.
- 8:10As long as you finish your plate,
- 8:12basically.
- 8:15So everybody orders.
- 8:16I get a hibachi of scallops and like
- 8:20zucchini and stuff like that.
- 8:23Everybody gets served.
- 8:24I'm still waiting.
- 8:26So I order a sushi roll because I'm
- 8:29still, I don't have any food.
- 8:31Everybody else is chowing down, waiting.
- 8:35Everybody's now getting their second and
- 8:37third order and I'm still waiting for my
- 8:39food.
- 8:42Finally, my daughter goes,
- 8:43are any of his orders going to come
- 8:45out?
- 8:46Are y'all catching his scallops right now?
- 8:48Are the shelves really hard to open?
- 8:51What's happening?
- 8:54Finally, when my daughter said that,
- 8:55three seconds later,
- 8:56they come out with the hibachi and the
- 8:58sushi roll.
- 9:00Of course they did.
- 9:01I eat that and then I said, okay,
- 9:03I want one more sushi roll and some
- 9:04seaweed salad.
- 9:08Put those in and
- 9:11wait again and now people are getting like
- 9:13fifth sixth seventh plates and i'm not
- 9:15getting anything and the lady comes over
- 9:20and i'm like listen did i do something
- 9:22to offend you right because like i'm the
- 9:27only one not getting served like everybody
- 9:29else at this table is getting served ahead
- 9:32of me and i'm the one paying the
- 9:33bill
- 9:36I wish I looked like that, Vicki.
- 9:39I wish.
- 9:40But you had to have something in front
- 9:41of you to look like that.
- 9:43FYI,
- 9:44using chopsticks with hooves is really
- 9:46tricky.
- 9:47Really tricky.
- 9:48Really tricky.
- 9:51And she said, well,
- 9:52our sushi line's backed up.
- 9:53I said, I get that part of it,
- 9:56even though I ordered sushi before these
- 9:59people and they forgot theirs and I don't.
- 10:01However,
- 10:02seaweed salad is throwing a clump on a
- 10:04couple pieces of lettuce.
- 10:06Yeah.
- 10:08It's actually probably already pre-made in
- 10:10a refrigerator somewhere.
- 10:10They just need to literally put it,
- 10:12scoop it onto a plate.
- 10:12My guess is like scooping the seaweed,
- 10:16throwing it on the plate and bringing it
- 10:18to my table.
- 10:19Yeah.
- 10:21Again, were they harvesting the seaweed?
- 10:24Because that probably would take a little
- 10:25bit of time because y'all were in Montana.
- 10:28And I am, I am the,
- 10:30I am usually,
- 10:31I worked in the service industry when I
- 10:33was younger.
- 10:34I am the last guy to like get
- 10:38Yeah, I try not to.
- 10:39Pissy about stuff like that?
- 10:41Yeah.
- 10:42They came out and asked,
- 10:42do you want to order anything else?
- 10:44And I said, no,
- 10:45because it won't come until next Tuesday.
- 10:48Right, no.
- 10:48It turns out I'm leaving tomorrow,
- 10:50so I would really like to go ahead
- 10:53and get that taken care of tonight.
- 10:54That'd be fantastic.
- 10:56If it wasn't just me,
- 11:00like everybody else at the table is
- 11:02getting their stuff.
- 11:04Yeah.
- 11:04How much did I tip?
- 11:06So that was,
- 11:06that was actually the bone of contention
- 11:09after the meal.
- 11:10Cause I'm like, I'm ready to give like,
- 11:12yeah.
- 11:16And my daughter's like, you can't do that.
- 11:19We come here.
- 11:20You can't leave.
- 11:21I'm like, I got shitty service.
- 11:24And she goes, yeah,
- 11:25but the rest of us got great service.
- 11:27And I'm like,
- 11:28I'm paying for rubbing that in.
- 11:31Oh yeah.
- 11:31And then I'm paying the bill though.
- 11:33Like out of all the people at the
- 11:34table, I'm fairly certain.
- 11:36It was probably obvious that you were the
- 11:38guy paying the bill, right?
- 11:40Like if you, I would also be willing,
- 11:43but you probably said, Hey,
- 11:45Like checks coming right here the entire
- 11:48time.
- 11:49If I'm waiting on that table,
- 11:51especially doing what they're doing right
- 11:52now,
- 11:53I am doing everything in my power to
- 11:55where your food,
- 11:56the guy who's actually paying for all of
- 11:58this shit is coming out first.
- 12:01Right there in front of you.
- 12:02Fresh as could be.
- 12:03I want your scallops to still be sizzling
- 12:06when they get one of these to you
- 12:07by the time they'll be.
- 12:09I think David Reed is onto something.
- 12:11I think they drove to the Pacific Ocean
- 12:13to get the seaweed.
- 12:14And then came back to Montana.
- 12:18Yeah.
- 12:19There's some dude right now just in a
- 12:26Why a Geo Metro?
- 12:28Hunched over the wheels because you ever
- 12:30seen what people in the service industry
- 12:32drive?
- 12:32They're not rolling around in Ferraris,
- 12:34Scott.
- 12:34That's not a thing.
- 12:36I got to tell you,
- 12:37I saw here in Montana someone driving
- 12:40around in a Suzuki Sidekick.
- 12:46I didn't know any of those survived.
- 12:48Dude.
- 12:50A stiff wind and those things blow over.
- 12:54sam dancer we all know who sam dancer
- 12:57is right yeah when he was playing football
- 13:01in college he was driving around in a
- 13:04geo tracker he told us this over the
- 13:06weekend he was like he's like and i
- 13:09didn't drink
- 13:11said i wasn't drinking at the time at
- 13:12all he said so i would go pick
- 13:14up like you know these offensive linemen
- 13:16and whatever else he said and we go
- 13:18out he said i'm the designated driver he
- 13:20said and there's you know these big you
- 13:23know five three hundred pound guys rolling
- 13:25around in a geo tracker just
- 13:28unfolding themselves out of this three
- 13:30hundred dollar car when he said no
- 13:32floorboards like it was just it was
- 13:34absolutely bad i'm just i said dude i'm
- 13:36just trying to picture you unfolding
- 13:37yourself out of this thing he said yeah
- 13:40it was funny to watch i i was
- 13:42bouncing in a club in the in the
- 13:44early early nineties right and one of the
- 13:48guys i worked with was six foot seven
- 13:50we called him ozone because his head was
- 13:53like up in that stratosphere right yep and
- 13:56uh
- 13:58He had a Geo Metro.
- 13:59He had to have it customized and move
- 14:03the tracks.
- 14:04There it is.
- 14:08He had to have the tracks of the
- 14:10front seat moved back.
- 14:13Yeah.
- 14:13So that he could fit in the car.
- 14:15And I said,
- 14:16maybe you should have bought a different
- 14:18car.
- 14:19I would think that'd probably be a pretty
- 14:21solid choice to lead off with.
- 14:22Like maybe not buy the thing that you
- 14:25can't actually fit into.
- 14:26That would be probably pretty,
- 14:27pretty cool.
- 14:28The last car I want to customize is
- 14:30a geo Metro for any reason whatsoever.
- 14:33No, that's wild.
- 14:39Wow.
- 14:40I'm going to go ahead and fold myself
- 14:42into my car so I can go ahead
- 14:44and get to the library.
- 14:45Like, no, dude.
- 14:46Yeah, looking out the sunroof,
- 14:48a hundred percent.
- 14:48Yeah, like Dino.
- 14:51Speaking of missing Yabba Dabba Doo.
- 14:54It's like this up out the window.
- 14:58Out the sunroof.
- 14:59A Geo Metro should not have a sunroof.
- 15:00That's just a...
- 15:01You have to cut a hole in the
- 15:05roof.
- 15:06Naked on sunroof.
- 15:09Artis Gilmore had the front seat of his
- 15:11Porsche removed and drove from the back
- 15:13seat.
- 15:15Jesus Christ.
- 15:18Geo Metro versus K-Car.
- 15:20K-Car had more leg room.
- 15:23Actually, they always had back seats.
- 15:25Yeah,
- 15:25I would go with the K-Car over the
- 15:27Geo Metro.
- 15:27I would go with the K-Car over the
- 15:28Geo Metro.
- 15:29You look like an undercover cop,
- 15:32so you probably get a little respect.
- 15:34People move out of your way.
- 15:35Absolutely.
- 15:36Absolutely.
- 15:41Going to the library eating huckleberries.
- 15:45Going to the library.
- 15:50Yes, indeed.
- 15:55If you've ever seen Die Hard with a
- 15:57Vengeance,
- 15:57you know all about the three-cylinder
- 15:59Yugos because they use a gold brick to
- 16:01break the window.
- 16:02Isn't it?
- 16:04They drive in trying to catch the dudes
- 16:06in the Mercedes, and John McClane's like,
- 16:09this piece of shit got any more?
- 16:11He said, you go, man.
- 16:12It was built for economy, not speed.
- 16:19Oh, man.
- 16:21That reminds me of the scene in Police
- 16:22Academy when the guy ripped out the front
- 16:24seat because he was so tall and had
- 16:25to sit in the back seat.
- 16:26Yeah, that was Bubba Smith.
- 16:29I'm trying to remember what they call him
- 16:31in Tackleberry.
- 16:34Hightower.
- 16:35Hightower.
- 16:37Tackleberry was the guy who was infatuated
- 16:40with the arms, all the guns.
- 16:42Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:43You're right, you're right, you're right.
- 16:46I'm impressed I remember that much about
- 16:47Police Academy, by the way.
- 16:50The first Police Academy was awesome.
- 16:53Gold.
- 16:54Absolute gold.
- 16:55So much gold that they made twenty-seven
- 16:58more.
- 16:59Which is not usually a really good play,
- 17:02FYI.
- 17:02No.
- 17:03No,
- 17:04it kind of the return you get as
- 17:08you.
- 17:08Yeah, it's the law of diminishing returns.
- 17:11Yes, it's the law of diminishing returns.
- 17:13And it's yeah,
- 17:14it's definitely a thing when you start
- 17:15getting that down there.
- 17:20Oh,
- 17:20Jay Burch asked what Friggy is doing
- 17:22different to lose that weight.
- 17:23He told me that one of the best
- 17:25things he does is the ten K steps
- 17:27a day.
- 17:28Oh, I was going to say meth,
- 17:29but yeah,
- 17:29that probably makes a lot more sense.
- 17:31He's riding a snake, man.
- 17:33Riding a snake.
- 17:35Getting it done.
- 17:38Y'all itchy?
- 17:38Is that just me?
- 17:39Have you ever seen that Jim Carrey bit?
- 17:46He was on Saturday Night Live and he'd
- 17:49come out with a new weight loss plan
- 17:50and it was like straight coke.
- 17:52Oh, yeah.
- 17:53He goes,
- 17:53all you got to do is ride the
- 17:54snake, man.
- 17:55Ride the snake.
- 17:56Yeah.
- 17:58I've lost sixty seven pounds in two days.
- 18:00In two days.
- 18:02Good night.
- 18:05Quote of the day.
- 18:06Are you itchy or is it just me?
- 18:16It's not Colorado, Scott, dude.
- 18:18It's Montana.
- 18:19Yeah.
- 18:20I'm about to say,
- 18:21are you are you leaving Colorado?
- 18:22What's happening right now?
- 18:25Seven-minute abs.
- 18:27Yes, indeed.
- 18:28He's doing seven-minute abs.
- 18:31What's-her-face's abs?
- 18:33Carrie Pierce's abs?
- 18:33I think... It wasn't seven-minute abs.
- 18:38I thought it was Carrie...
- 18:39I thought it was Carrie Pierce's abs.
- 18:45Is it just... No,
- 18:48she's got her own thing.
- 18:49I can't remember what it was called.
- 18:50You know what he might have been doing,
- 18:52Mark Phillips, is Taibo...
- 18:54Billy Blank's in it all day long.
- 18:57Power abs.
- 18:58Thank you, Andrew Sten.
- 19:01Andrew's on top of stuff, man.
- 19:04That dude is sharp.
- 19:08David Reed,
- 19:09I definitely need to stop eating.
- 19:10On gymnastics days,
- 19:11you can hear my joints say mercy,
- 19:13I think is what he was trying to
- 19:14type there.
- 19:16Or he was speaking French and merde.
- 19:21Merde is shit.
- 19:26I don't know French.
- 19:28I know, I do, but it's fine.
- 19:29And Doug is originally from Canada,
- 19:32so that might be a thing.
- 19:35My head is filled with useless
- 19:36information.
- 19:36My brother, that is our generation.
- 19:39That is our generation.
- 19:40They gave us so many things that we
- 19:41didn't ever,
- 19:42we're never going to use again whatsoever.
- 19:44And they're all stuck in our head forever
- 19:46and ever and ever.
- 19:48I think that is the perfect subtitle for
- 19:52this show.
- 19:53Yeah.
- 19:53Our heads are filled with useless
- 19:56information.
- 19:57It's just in there.
- 20:00Yeah, Mark is correct.
- 20:01We couldn't look shit up.
- 20:02We just had to remember it.
- 20:03You either remembered it or you didn't.
- 20:05Or you had to get home and look
- 20:07at the encyclopedias that your
- 20:08grandparents had from the late seventies
- 20:10that were just laying around the house.
- 20:12At least that's what it was at my
- 20:13house.
- 20:13We invented phone a friend.
- 20:16Oh God.
- 20:16Oh shit.
- 20:17I don't know that.
- 20:18Let me call Corey.
- 20:19Let me call Vicky.
- 20:21You see, I think,
- 20:21I think Scott was talking about this the
- 20:23other day.
- 20:24Let me call and see.
- 20:25Oh, hello.
- 20:26It's Scott home.
- 20:29Because you didn't just call Scott.
- 20:30You called Scott's parents' house.
- 20:31Yeah.
- 20:35Oh, and by the way, Mrs. Schweitzer,
- 20:37do you know the answer to?
- 20:38Yeah.
- 20:40Look,
- 20:40if you know the answer to this and
- 20:41we don't have to worry about getting
- 20:42Scott, it'll be fine.
- 20:43You have to bring him the cord with
- 20:44the phone,
- 20:45the phone with the cord that's ninety five
- 20:47feet long.
- 20:48You have no idea.
- 20:49I read World Book for Fun on the
- 20:51ranch.
- 20:51Yeah.
- 20:52Yeah.
- 20:54Dude, if I got home and my life,
- 20:56if we had a half day of school
- 20:57for whatever reason,
- 20:59I would get off the bus at my
- 21:00grandma's house in the afternoon before my
- 21:02mom married my dad.
- 21:04So it was just me and her most
- 21:05of the time.
- 21:06And if she was watching Days of Our
- 21:09Lives or whatever else,
- 21:11there's nothing else on at two o'clock in
- 21:13the afternoon.
- 21:14I had to entertain myself some sort of
- 21:16way.
- 21:16And if it wasn't sunny outside where I
- 21:18go ride my bike and just be outside
- 21:20and go do stuff,
- 21:22My options were fairly limited.
- 21:23It was Reader's Digest or the Encyclopedia
- 21:26Britannica.
- 21:29I just got my wife.
- 21:30You're laughing about Reader's Digest.
- 21:31It's still a thing.
- 21:33Oh, I know.
- 21:33She saw something for it.
- 21:35This was over the summer,
- 21:37like within the last two and a half
- 21:39months or so.
- 21:41And she said,
- 21:41I think I would like a subscription to
- 21:43the Reader's Digest.
- 21:44And I said, don't play with me.
- 21:47And she said, no, for real.
- 21:49We now have a subscription to the Reader's
- 21:50Digest at the Leonard Household.
- 21:54Just telling you.
- 21:56So when I go to my in-laws house,
- 21:57the Reader's Digest is still in the
- 21:59bathroom.
- 22:00Yeah.
- 22:02And they used to buy all of their
- 22:04kids, including my wife,
- 22:06a subscription to Reader's Digest every
- 22:09single year.
- 22:11And my wife is an avid Reader's Digest
- 22:17fan.
- 22:18so it's mine now she has a we
- 22:20have i'm telling you we we just got
- 22:22a subscription same time any better dad
- 22:25jokes than readers digest that was the
- 22:28first thing i wanted to see is if
- 22:33humor and uniform uh all in a day's
- 22:36work laughter is the best medicine like
- 22:37all those little things are still in there
- 22:39fyi they are all those are still in
- 22:43there it's amazing dude
- 22:47Reader's Digest is OG Doom scrolling on
- 22:49the toilet.
- 22:51Exactly.
- 22:52Yes.
- 22:54I used to love the jokes.
- 22:55That's what I got it for.
- 22:57The various little stories and whatnot.
- 22:59I rarely read the actual articles that
- 23:01were in there.
- 23:03Didn't need any of that.
- 23:05I was too young for that.
- 23:08My college bathroom looked like a doctor's
- 23:10office.
- 23:11I had Sports Illustrated, Reader's Digest,
- 23:15Car and driver, road and track,
- 23:18all that stuff.
- 23:21My, uh, my uncle, my dad,
- 23:24one of my dad's brothers, um,
- 23:26big hot rod dude.
- 23:27He said I used to get his old,
- 23:30he would have a scripture in the hot
- 23:31rod magazine and I would get his old,
- 23:33uh, his old episode,
- 23:34his old copies of it.
- 23:35Like when he was done with him,
- 23:36I'd get him back and like, yeah,
- 23:38I had pictures of all kinds of hot
- 23:39rods and shit stuck up on the wall
- 23:41at my house.
- 23:44uh true false that didn't come into the
- 23:47bathroom with me that always was right in
- 23:49the living room where i could actually see
- 23:50what was coming on tv that that was
- 23:53where it needed to be yeah utility you
- 23:57have to have it where the utility works
- 24:01uh mark phillips also would read the
- 24:03shampoo the toothpaste didn't matter had
- 24:05to have something good to read rinse
- 24:08repeat um
- 24:14Did you see,
- 24:16so I want to ask you a little
- 24:17bit about this Wadapalooza SoCal thing and
- 24:19the new Battle of the Camps.
- 24:23Yep.
- 24:23Jamie talked the other night about,
- 24:26are we getting too much in the fall
- 24:29season of CrossFit?
- 24:32Because now that there are four teams,
- 24:34it's becoming abundantly clear that not
- 24:36everybody is willing to do another comp.
- 24:40And I just jotted down,
- 24:41I took the top ten finishers of the
- 24:43games.
- 24:46And on the women's side,
- 24:49and if you add Tia to this,
- 24:51because Tia is not doing it, Amy Kringle,
- 24:54Alex Kazan, Lucy Campbell, Paige Powers,
- 24:56and Elisa Fuliano are all top ten
- 24:58finishers of the games.
- 25:00None of them are doing this competition.
- 25:03On the men's side, no Adler, no Roman,
- 25:06no Guy, and no Moritz Fiebig.
- 25:08All top ten athletes.
- 25:12I didn't put Madaris in there because he
- 25:14was going to do it,
- 25:14and then he had the car accident,
- 25:16which we didn't even talk about on the
- 25:17show.
- 25:19And so he has to pull out.
- 25:23Is there going to be – and I
- 25:24was watching Get Up this morning,
- 25:26and they were talking about that six NFC
- 25:28quarterbacks are now out in the first two
- 25:31weeks of the season.
- 25:32It's just bananas crazy, by the way.
- 25:36Right.
- 25:37And they were talking about how much they
- 25:38hate watching football when it's like
- 25:40backup quarterbacks.
- 25:42especially someone like Jameis Winston,
- 25:44who we've already seen his performances.
- 25:48We already know what he's bringing to the
- 25:49table,
- 25:51and the hope is not there for Giants
- 25:53fans.
- 25:57I tell you what,
- 25:58for Giants fans in particular,
- 26:01it's going to be entertaining.
- 26:05It may not be entertaining on the field,
- 26:06but it'll be entertaining watching the
- 26:08press conference.
- 26:10I don't.
- 26:13I didn't say on a field.
- 26:14I just said it was going to be
- 26:15entertaining.
- 26:15Yeah.
- 26:20So my question is,
- 26:22I think on the men's side,
- 26:23you still have a lot of star power.
- 26:25Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:26Because you have James, Dallin, Jason,
- 26:29Ricky, Jay, and Colton.
- 26:31Yeah.
- 26:32I would say that is high stakes success.
- 26:36in and of itself, those, those,
- 26:38those are like, that's a,
- 26:40that's a damn good field to watch.
- 26:41Right.
- 26:42And then when you throw in the,
- 26:44not just, not just good competitors,
- 26:47but high entertainment value.
- 26:51Yeah.
- 26:51I'm sorry.
- 26:55I got distracted reading frigging Joseph's
- 26:58comment.
- 26:58Oh, so
- 27:02On the women's side, do we have that?
- 27:04We have Emma Lawson, Maddie Sturt,
- 27:07Olivia Kerstetter, Ariel Lowen,
- 27:09and Danielle Brandon.
- 27:10Those would be the top ten from the
- 27:13games.
- 27:15I think DB is always going to be
- 27:18entertainment value.
- 27:19I think Ariel is always going to be
- 27:21entertainment value.
- 27:24I love Emma Lawson.
- 27:25She is so talented,
- 27:27but I wouldn't call her entertaining.
- 27:31No.
- 27:32God,
- 27:32I feel like such an asshole for saying
- 27:34that.
- 27:35I do too,
- 27:35because I like her a lot.
- 27:38But she's pretty vanilla when it comes to
- 27:40the actual entertainment part, right?
- 27:42She's a ridiculous athlete.
- 27:45That's not up for debate by any stretch
- 27:47of the imagination.
- 27:47But entertaining?
- 27:49Not really.
- 27:51Not really.
- 27:55Meredith is saying it in a nice political
- 27:57way.
- 27:58Emma Lawson feels all business.
- 28:00Sure.
- 28:03She but she's vanilla.
- 28:05Like, and that's okay.
- 28:08Like they're great athletes that are
- 28:09vanilla.
- 28:10I would say Tom Brady was vanilla most
- 28:12of his career.
- 28:14I would agree to that.
- 28:16Right,
- 28:16but he still won six Super Bowls seven
- 28:18Super Bowls.
- 28:21Right?
- 28:21You take that
- 28:26Here's the deal, fake Savan.
- 28:28I'm watching just to see Ariel be the
- 28:30peacekeeper.
- 28:30Ellie's out now.
- 28:32So she didn't even have to be the
- 28:33peacekeeper.
- 28:35And I think Abby Domet and DB are
- 28:37fine.
- 28:42no i don't think she's gonna need to
- 28:43be a peacekeeper by any stretch of the
- 28:44imagination um i think with with emma and
- 28:48db in particular you have the two opposite
- 28:51sides of the spectrum as far as the
- 28:53entertainment value is concerned right
- 28:56because emma's gonna be the go along get
- 28:59along kind of quiet vanilla smashing
- 29:01whatever whatever it is they do and
- 29:04danielle's liable to be yelling at people
- 29:06Because she's done it before.
- 29:07Like we've seen it happen on the floor
- 29:08before at this event in particular.
- 29:11So that might be worth the price of
- 29:13admission right there.
- 29:14But who knows?
- 29:20Brady was more pistachio and acquired
- 29:22taste.
- 29:25Okay.
- 29:27That's fair.
- 29:29I think that's fair.
- 29:31Brooke Wells vibes.
- 29:32I imagine she's in that portion of the
- 29:34population that doesn't have an internal
- 29:36dialogue.
- 29:46I love you.
- 29:48Holy shit.
- 29:49That's funny.
- 29:52Is DB really fine with anyone other than
- 29:54her dog, though?
- 29:55This is the crazy thing, Lito.
- 29:57Of the athletes I talk to,
- 29:59there are a ton of them that love
- 30:01DB.
- 30:03Like, they love hanging out with her.
- 30:06And it's not the athletes you would
- 30:08expect.
- 30:09Right.
- 30:14I think it's just all the drama that
- 30:15is created around her, right?
- 30:19She feels like the type of person that
- 30:20drama follows her.
- 30:23When she does, I mean,
- 30:24she is the common denominator.
- 30:26She is the common denominator.
- 30:28I'm not,
- 30:28I don't think anybody's debating that part
- 30:30of it,
- 30:31but it just does seem like it follows
- 30:34her for whatever reason.
- 30:37Right.
- 30:37Maybe she's creating it all.
- 30:39Maybe some of it just so happens to
- 30:41be, but whatever it is,
- 30:43it stirs up around her,
- 30:45which makes her interesting.
- 30:48One way, whether you like it or not,
- 30:49whether you, you know,
- 30:50most people won't admit it or not,
- 30:51but like people are drawn to that kind
- 30:53of shit, right?
- 30:55People stop and look at train wrecks.
- 30:57People stop and look at wrecks on the
- 30:59other side of the interstate that have
- 31:01nothing to do with them and slows down
- 31:02traffic because they just want to see,
- 31:05kind of want to be interested in what's
- 31:07going on.
- 31:07And oh my God, that looks terrible.
- 31:08And I'm so glad that's not me type
- 31:09stuff.
- 31:11I'm not saying she's a complete train
- 31:13wreck because she does seem to be a
- 31:15hell of a hell of a lot better
- 31:16now than she was in years past when
- 31:18it comes to the drama type stuff.
- 31:19But shit just seems to happen around her
- 31:23for whatever reason.
- 31:24You know who she kind of reminds me
- 31:25of?
- 31:26And I don't know if this is a
- 31:26good analogy or not,
- 31:27but do you ever watch Dan Marino play
- 31:30football?
- 31:31Mm-hmm.
- 31:33He wanted to win so bad that he
- 31:36expected perfection from every single
- 31:38person around him.
- 31:40And if you didn't run the right route,
- 31:41you got your ass chewed in the middle
- 31:44of a game, right on the field.
- 31:46Like he didn't care that the cameras were
- 31:48there,
- 31:48didn't care about any of that stuff.
- 31:51If you watch the Danielle documentary that
- 31:55Rad did,
- 31:56she won everything she did from the time
- 32:00she was a little girl.
- 32:03Her expectation is that she wins and if
- 32:08she doesn't win she's miserable It's
- 32:12ridiculous and there are people in this
- 32:15world that that's what makes them great
- 32:18and
- 32:22I say it's ridiculous.
- 32:23It's really not.
- 32:24It's just, it's,
- 32:25that's what her expectation is in her mind
- 32:28because that's what she's used to because
- 32:29that's what's happened to her all the
- 32:31time.
- 32:31So for people who are that kind of
- 32:33high achiever where that's,
- 32:35it's almost expected at that point,
- 32:37then it can become difficult whenever
- 32:39stuff happens and you're not necessarily
- 32:41equipped to deal with the fact that you've
- 32:42never actually lost anything before or you
- 32:44got your ass handed to you on a
- 32:45particular workout for whatever it is.
- 32:49That can be a problem.
- 32:51might be why Marino never won.
- 32:52I think that is it.
- 32:54I think there's a point where you can
- 32:55will your teammates to do so much,
- 32:57but they get burned out on it really
- 32:59quick.
- 33:00I think that's a reason like Jim Harbaugh
- 33:03doesn't last in any location very long as
- 33:06a coach,
- 33:07because he's so hard on his players that
- 33:11it wears thin super, super fast.
- 33:13And I think the same can be said
- 33:15for Danielle.
- 33:17that that aggressiveness in wanting to be
- 33:20the best is hard to maintain for a
- 33:23long period of time if you are around
- 33:26that yeah you got to be uh you
- 33:30got to be able to be humbled and
- 33:32be able to accept it and go okay
- 33:34i'm going to learn from this and like
- 33:36put it behind me move on um talking
- 33:39about dan marino you got to have the
- 33:43I think that's a good example because as
- 33:45a quarterback,
- 33:46you have to have a short memory.
- 33:47Like interception,
- 33:49I didn't throw no interception.
- 33:49I don't even know what you're talking
- 33:50about, right?
- 33:52But you can't have that mentality and then
- 33:55also jump all over your wide receiver
- 33:57because he took three steps off his route
- 34:01completely wrong.
- 34:02Like, hey, man, shit happens.
- 34:03Like, yeah, yeah,
- 34:04you also threw the ball fifteen yards
- 34:07beyond my head.
- 34:08Like, what do you want me to do?
- 34:09Type stuff.
- 34:10There has to be some sort of balance
- 34:11there, and I think that's the problem.
- 34:14Vicki dropped something in the private
- 34:15chat about that a lot of people that
- 34:17act like that out like that often have
- 34:21some kind of emotional baggage or that
- 34:24were hurt by somebody early on in their
- 34:26life.
- 34:27And if you watch that documentary,
- 34:29Danielle did not lead the most pristine
- 34:32life growing up.
- 34:34She had to deal with a lot of
- 34:35shit at a very young age.
- 34:39I like her.
- 34:39Every time I've interviewed her,
- 34:42she's been on this show before.
- 34:45Every time I see her in person,
- 34:47she's nothing but cordial and nice.
- 34:51But man, when it blows up,
- 34:55it's a nuclear bomb.
- 34:58And if you're holding on to whatever it
- 35:01is you're holding on to,
- 35:02that's how those people tend to end up
- 35:04acting, right?
- 35:05Super nice, super chill, super whatever.
- 35:08And then you get to a boiling point
- 35:10when you just let it all out at
- 35:12once.
- 35:14I know several people like that.
- 35:16Used to know several people like that.
- 35:18I don't associate it with them anymore.
- 35:23Yeah.
- 35:26Jesus Christ.
- 35:29anyway i i just whatever you want to
- 35:33say about her she brings people to the
- 35:35competition yes and that yeah that's what
- 35:38i was getting at earlier is that people
- 35:41are going to want to watch yeah uh
- 35:44joseph is responding to uh fake savan
- 35:48saying that they're that pole vaulters are
- 35:51crazy and he knows that because he is
- 35:53one just saying
- 35:58so anyway moving right along sorry i
- 36:01couldn't help that uh so anyway do you
- 36:09my question to you now is do you
- 36:12want to watch socal is there enough star
- 36:15power there
- 36:18to make you want to watch like if
- 36:20if your schedule was clear right and you
- 36:23had to choose between reacher lanterns and
- 36:27waterpalooza socal well if i gotta choose
- 36:32between those three i'm watching socal
- 36:33just because i'm not caught up on the
- 36:36well i actually am caught up on lanterns
- 36:38um not caught up on the other ones
- 36:40yet it'd be a whole lot of other
- 36:42stuff to do yeah i still think i
- 36:43would um
- 36:46But I am not a good sample size
- 36:48because,
- 36:50like we've talked about several times on
- 36:51this show,
- 36:54I'm going to watch it no matter what.
- 36:56Like they could have picked, you know,
- 36:59people who were at semifinals that you
- 37:01can't name right now to send out to
- 37:03water Palooza.
- 37:04And I would still probably watch it if
- 37:06for no other reason.
- 37:07And the fact that Jr programmed it,
- 37:10it's a different type of event, right?
- 37:12Where you can substitute people in here,
- 37:14there,
- 37:14and yonder for whatever events are going
- 37:16on and whatnot.
- 37:17My biggest problem with, with,
- 37:19with SoCal is that it's in SoCal and
- 37:22it's going to be on super late.
- 37:26The nice thing about that is if you
- 37:27can rewind it the next morning,
- 37:29just buzz through it.
- 37:32Yeah.
- 37:34That's a fact.
- 37:36This I will never understand.
- 37:39I'll still watch it because JR's
- 37:41programming generally plays out great.
- 37:44I just don't get into programming that
- 37:46much.
- 37:47You're not a competitor like JR does.
- 37:50And I am.
- 37:51So it's fun to watch the stuff that
- 37:54he does.
- 37:57I respect what he does.
- 37:58I think he's great at what he does.
- 38:00But I don't think programming is ever
- 38:02going to be what brings me to the
- 38:05table.
- 38:06It's not the only thing that brings me
- 38:08to the table, but it's part of it.
- 38:11I didn't watch most of Legends because as
- 38:14soon as I saw the programming,
- 38:15I was like,
- 38:15this is going to be dumb.
- 38:16I'm not watching this.
- 38:17See, I watch anything for the people,
- 38:23right?
- 38:25And to me, like sports is about,
- 38:27you have a test in front of you,
- 38:30whatever that test is on that day,
- 38:32you have to face it and let's see
- 38:34how people react to that test.
- 38:36So I'll say, I'll say this,
- 38:39I'm going to do whatever test is in
- 38:41front of me if I'm actually on the
- 38:42floor.
- 38:44But if I have my choice and there's
- 38:46two different things going on at the time
- 38:47and they're both being broadcast and I'm
- 38:49watching one or the other,
- 38:50I'm going to watch the one that I
- 38:51think is way more interesting to watch and
- 38:53makes way more sense.
- 38:55um and yes here we go uh good
- 38:57programming lido good programming makes
- 38:59good races so it's more fun to watch
- 39:00regardless if you're in the program or not
- 39:02that's a fact i agree to disagree but
- 39:08okay sorry no fergie fergie said maybe
- 39:12because i'm tall i like the fun size
- 39:13athletes they fascinate me with their
- 39:15movement you're welcome ferg
- 39:24um maybe justin is out of rogue now
- 39:27because harry is in someone's place uh
- 39:30earlier in the chat i think i have
- 39:32not seen this personally um uh what's his
- 39:39name oh my gosh i'm having a brain
- 39:41fart uh austin hatfield is withdrawn yes
- 39:46and there was someone oh uh yonikoski
- 39:50There it is.
- 39:50Vicky found it.
- 39:52And Yonakoski has withdrawn from Rogue.
- 39:55So that's probably where the Harry
- 39:58Lightfoot piece is.
- 40:02like harry i like to see him on
- 40:03the floor i like to see him actually
- 40:06right after an event because he is an
- 40:09absolute like he's a freak show of a
- 40:12human being and the fact that he's just
- 40:14out there giving high fives hugging random
- 40:16people in the crowd like leading cheers
- 40:19and chants and like that like harry's a
- 40:21whole he's a whole vibe dude i really
- 40:23like that guy yeah well i hate to
- 40:27cut this short today but i have to
- 40:28because i gotta catch a plane
- 40:30As it turns out, get in the plane,
- 40:33not on the plane.
- 40:34That is my one big piece of advice
- 40:39for you.
- 40:40Everybody talks about,
- 40:40I got to get on the plane.
- 40:41Don't get on the plane.
- 40:43If you get on the plane,
- 40:43as soon as it takes off,
- 40:44you're going to fall off the plane and
- 40:45you're going to be stuck in Montana.
- 40:46Yeah, but we're in the land of rodeos,
- 40:48man.
- 40:48They're just going to saddle up,
- 40:50hop on top,
- 40:52get a hold of that rope.
- 40:53Yeah,
- 40:54and I'm going to say this one more
- 40:55time.
- 40:55Get in the plane, not on the plane.
- 41:01Yeah,
- 41:02it has been the most amazing week here
- 41:04in Montana.
- 41:05We've got to spend so much time with
- 41:07my daughter.
- 41:08It has been lovely, but man,
- 41:10I cannot wait to get back to my
- 41:11bed.
- 41:11Oh, my bed.
- 41:13My couch, my studio, all of that stuff.
- 41:19Yeah.
- 41:21Let's say this before we leave.
- 41:24Leto said,
- 41:24Harry just says the crowd here on fire.
- 41:26That sounds dangerous, Leto.
- 41:28Yeah.
- 41:29I think it sounds illegal.
- 41:32Slightly.
- 41:33Slightly.
- 41:34Yeah.
- 41:37Yeah.
- 41:39With that, guys,
- 41:41hopefully we'll see you tomorrow when my
- 41:43plane lands tonight at eleven o'clock at
- 41:46night and I go back to work first
- 41:49thing tomorrow morning,
- 41:50which is freaking awesome.
- 41:53I think you'd love your job.
