- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now, do have just a couple of quick, just kind of announcements.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry for the timing today.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: I understand practice is ongoing as we speak, but I've got family in town, so like have to move my schedule around a considerable amount to make sure I get the show done.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: So apologies about that.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Practice has not concluded.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: We are recording this at 128PM.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it's Saturday.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: it's the 15th.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Saturday.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and so if there are any updates in the press conference, that will take place after this show.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: So just we're going what we got now.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: We have an updated practice report, who's in who's not very positive injury news across the board today will update that.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then we concluded our third and fourth quarter film review early this morning.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's been
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: 730 this morning.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: It is now 1 30.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's been several several hours.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's going through tape off and stiff and special teams.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot more notes.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: This could turn into a quite lengthy podcast today.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: But this is what we want because there is new information about the 49ers coming out in rapid pace.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Dept chart updates, positional changes on the offensive line.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: These are the things that are exciting and we're here to catch you up on all of it.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for joining the 49ers rush podcast.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,695.

- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys and all the countdown crew.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: The hashtag cc's.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: What is up?
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this.

- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Quentin?
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: So thankful you are here and everybody.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: That is here, whether you are listening to a later recorded show through audio, you're watching YouTube, we're on Twitch, we're on Twitter, we're on Instagram, we're on Facebook, we are everywhere.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: So if you know anybody, that's a 49er's fan, say, hey, have you watched or listened to the 49er's podcast, recommend this.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I'm proud of what we do here, and the only reason why we're allowed to do that is because of you guys.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Race with the question in coming in hot.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: John, are you more worried with second string edge or offensive tackle?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Not concerned about offensive tackle at all with trip Williams and shoot me kivots awesome Vaderion low the high ankle sprain sucks.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't been getting work in but I love him as the number three in Rekecruis has been got awful and Rekecruis has been cut worthy.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: He might be the first fifth rounder Cut at this pace, but we'll see there's still more time.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's still two more preseason games But if in Rekecruis continues at this pace, he will be cut
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Austin pleasant so much better than he is, but Austin pleasant was moved to guard today and to shout out to Austin pleasant like this is a guy that I was like when the first
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's do his out there just kicking ass.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: Again, pancakes pulling out in space couldn't do that when he first signed here.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: So Chris forster special.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: This is what he does.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: He can get these guys that are back end of the practice squad players get them two to three years and get them NFL ready.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Brindle, and I mean, like this is what he does.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: This is a Tom Compton, like there are just guys that he could just make work.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Daniel Brunskill, that's where he's at his best.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: So much more concerned with the edge rusher.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: That is, it's an issue because you look at Ramelo Height who is your second draft choice in the third round, but the second pick over all this year.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: he has looked not good, um, unimpactful.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I would say not horrible, but he ain't ready.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's not ready.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, that's where I so still more concerned about edge than I am offensive tackle, even like, uh, now the good news is whenever you're looking at edge,
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: Man, key on whites, awesome Samo's, awesome McKell Williams will come back as awesome like the it is, the answer is in the house, offense attack will vary in low all the confidence in the world, awesome pleasants.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm fine with him as a backup right tackle.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I don't think either are major positions of concern to be honest with you.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's good.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love it slick.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Vita Vega.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: Man, the more and more you read about Vivaia, the 49ers reportedly from Mike Garfolo reached out.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: They do their due diligence all the time.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: Vivaia would be amazing.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the books are trading them.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think money is gonna solve this problem.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that Vivaia's signing autographs yesterday with pay via, it's a money issue.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: the trade request.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's a money issue.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is Trent Williams.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's a money issue.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: Money will solve this problem.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's too damn good for them not to trade.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: They're adamant they're not trading them.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: They've had a offseason from hell the bucks.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Great draft.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: But Vita Vey is not going anywhere.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now if he is, again, and I've been adamant about this,
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would do a second round pick for him in a future fifth rounder.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: I would do a second and sixth this year.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: I would trade, you know, Alfred Collins and a third.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: I would do that.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not doing Alfred Collins in a second.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I'm in.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: It takes three to tango.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Vivaia's got to want to come here.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers got to want to come here.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: And the bucks have to be willing to trade them.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: They could get more from an AFC team and send them to a non-conference, you know, playoff hopeful.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: It just doesn't make a lot of sense there.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, do what you will.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Steve, what's up, man?
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Glad to see here was there.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone that you have a bad grade yet they progressed in the second half.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: man awesome question.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would say Carver Willis, which probably should be the title of today's show.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis is bad ass in the run game and this show didn't take this isn't new to us and if you watched our tape break down Whenever we broke down his college tape over on the 49er trash.com and our patreon channel, which man all four quarters of the preseason game are up on both sites Patreon.com slash 40 iron trash podcast the 49er's rush dot com every single play coaches tape in zone all 22 broken down Man, I had so much fun
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I'm going to be smiling all day just because the tape is out there.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was so fun.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis, we said this in the diagnosing of his college state, amazing run game, Horrible Pasprote.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: That continued almost the entire game, third and fourth quarter, when Carver Willis played left guard.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: But here's what I said, okay.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Here's in my notes.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: I have eight points.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis had some awesome place.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: His Pasprote did get better
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: throughout the game.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: And you don't need them to be good.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to be a good pass for a player at any point really this year probably.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: But if you can just get them to be serviceable and not make major mistakes.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm watching it in the fourth quarter, and as if you guys go through the breakdown, you'll hear my tone shift.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, okay, that's not bad.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you could dip this a work.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, man, that's three good passways
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: Then he just completely whiffs on a blitz where he just, you know, the sinners overload left.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: So they're fanning to the left side.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: He helps the sinner in the A gap and completely misses the number two defender coming and just got free to the quarterback quarterback it.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis gave up the most pressures.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Only three were accounted and that one was the quarterback hit PFF didn't attribute to him.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: They're wronging that 100% on him because the center went left and Rika crews went left and actually had a positive snap free blitz or looks like it's in Rika's crew's fault But it's not if you know the 49 hours offensive line rules and that's kind of the issue of PFF.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: They don't know everybody's line rules So wherever the pressure is closest to
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: they attribute a hundred percent that was on Carver Willis.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: But it was like, man, dude, you are building positivity.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then you missed it.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the same issue that Carver Willis, I'm sorry, Connor Colby had in the first quarter as well.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: But still, the anchor is, oh, stay in straight up and pass, bro, just getting blown up into the quarterback.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you count how many times Carver Willis hit the quarterback, probably two or three times as he's throwing, because he's just getting just blasted backwards.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Run game A plus, had a 90 grade in the run game.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: A plus Carver Willis.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: past pro so bad.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: Um, even whenever he's not standing up and he has some bend his balance issues are all weight way over the skis.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so then you're just lunge in and grab and hold on for dear life quarterback hit.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: Got better.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: But, uh, man, um, if I was a coach, and this is in my notes that I talked about this and one of the breakdowns.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis,
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby should be duking it out for the ones.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Robert Jones is not an NFL player.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like I hate to say that at this point, taking a year off way too much for us, his tape was got awful.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: Pass in run game, just horrible, horrible, like cut-able.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: And sure enough, today it practice.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis, Connor Colby, rotate with the ones.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby's getting the start, so you moved it back to left guard and again.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: The starter right now should be Connor Colby.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: He is the best guard, not named Dominique Pune on the roster.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's not close.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't think it's close.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: The upside of Carver Willis is there.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: How good he is in the run game, it is awesome.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby still making mistakes, but he can anchor better than Carver Willis.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: He has better technique than Carver Willis.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's just got to be more aware of the blitzes in the stunts, which was his problem last year.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: The ceiling for Carver Willis is there.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: And he's going to be the eventual center.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be the eventual starter there.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like I love that his run game has translated so much.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: But now you look at the depth chart at left guard.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Connor Colby and Carver Willis split and split in the one reps. Robert Jones took some number two reps and Austin Pleasant has been kicked inside.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a testament to how bad the guards have been and whenever I say things like Connor Colby's the best he's the best on the roster.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: He is not good.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: None of these guys are good complete guards.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: You go a carver will listen the upside and the rookie you're going to get brought pretty killed.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to get them killed.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby is the safest choice.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: Do you
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: But major, major shake up Robert Jones is not the answer.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: And Robert Jones is a great glassy case of emergency.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: Might even be to the point where Robert Jones might not even make this roster.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Lake, I-
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's his first game back after taking a year off, but, well, dude, it's so bad.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: That was some terrible terrible tape.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: So Jack Jones practicing, let's get to the practice update today.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: So many positive injury news.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Evans, back practicing, he's been practicing back in team.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: Catch a pass is from property in 11111.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that's huge.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Evans, ah, that's awesome.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Cowen, back at practice.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: All it took.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: was to Sean Strippling and Jordan Walkins have a good game and sure enough, Jacob Coward and his healthy.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: The hip flexor entry is back at practice that is huge.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'm still in the not counting fan club, but I do think he has an outside shot at this roster.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: Punct return was God awful.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins looked.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins was bad asses a receiver catching the ball.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins was the worst blocker I've ever seen as a wide receiver.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins was the worst blocker ever on kickoff return.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins was terrible and punt return.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: Will Pauling.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Will Pauling was I think he might have had the worst performance of any player.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the undrafted free agent, he had three catches, no broken tackles, three punt returns, no broker tackles, three kickoff returns, no broken tackles, all of them were bad.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't feel the punt and allowed it to bounce and lost an extra 15 will pollen was bad.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like man, yeah, the the camp of the will pollen could surpass Jacob County.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: Not that the battles over will Pauline's been awesome in camp, but that was a I would probably say we'll Pauline might have had the worst performance of any player Not name Robert Jones like those two guys probably the worst of the worst But just one game things can change Jacob Coward back at practice.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge Stribbling and walk is played really really well as wide receiver position.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's gonna hill you up real quick buddy
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones broke his hand all that stuff back at practice to Jack Jones is a boss man.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: That dude is a dog.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: I freaking love it Marky's sequel injured is so bleak back at practice.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: He missed it no damn time Nick Martin Stinger He hits so damn hard back in practice All positives all positives love that side work injuries Kyle used check with the broken finger Christian Kirk still out there and Brett so
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: Brett's old at some point you got to play man.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's brought in to be the backup center and you know versatile guard haven't really seen him do much
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Drake news it put together a very good first quarter got worse in the second quarter, but you need you need centers.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Toad let's go not practicing still Nick Bosa not out there and Christian McCaffrey not in Curtis work with the ribs.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the only guys that like were an out there that was a possibility.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: They could be out there, but yeah, Jack Jones back in it man.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: uh... jackshows back in it whose tape was better than we thought Bryson eason was unreal now i know he was the number one pff score and all that kind of stuff Bryson he's in was unreal man like that dude and so like Bryson he's the only guy built like he is six two three twenty type guy
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, okay, awesome vers double teams, awesome one on one, getting penetration consistently, no negatives on the tape.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: And then the best thing about price and easing, they run a screen and the guard lets them go instant alert.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now as you still tell my players, if you think it's too good to be true, a lot of times it is, if that guard lets you go, they're doing it for a reason.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: They want you to be dumb and keep getting up field.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: It was a screenplay blew it up by himself, it like, you're talking about veteran recognition from an undrafted free agent, just doesn't get moved for several teams was so badass.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: So Bryce and Eason, he's one of the guys, but the PFF score would say, like, you know, he had a good man.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say this to a Luder Jr.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a Dorell Luder guy.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: Number 28.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he had a badass game.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: coverage.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got beat on a comeback route, ran stride for stride on a fade amazing in the run game, amazing in the run game.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he always is.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: I would argue this is the first time in four seasons that I finished a preseason game with the real loser and was like, dude, he played good.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: So again, awesome question.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: RAC Aga, 2024, Dorel Luder would be there.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: Do, and yeah, maybe my player of the second half, Titan Hayden Rucci, that dude just put up a hell of a game, and he played across the entire spectrum.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now, your first second, third, fourth quarter.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: I saw one kind of negative play where he was on that cross block, the X oral block, the Z oral block, where you pull from the right side and you kick out the end, and then you run inside, and he didn't bring his weight with them and kind of got knocked back a little bit.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: That was the biggest negative.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't miss a block or anything, just didn't get movement vertically in that.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: There were so many plays, Hayden Ruchi, awesome in the run game.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome in the past game just doing what he's supposed to be doing now.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Hayden Ruchi brings a lot in the passing game But if George Kittle doesn't play early What's his a niff
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, then Ruchi, like I have no problem moving him past Braden Willis who's more of a jack of all trades guy.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: You can do a little bit of everything, but as far as from a blocking standpoint, special team standpoint 83 Hayden Ruchi really, really impressed me with just the consistency, the violence and just man A plus blocking look as PFF crazy.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that they did him just I don't know how they
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: came up with the grades there.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, the route she was awesome.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: So a little bit more faith in the depth that tied in.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: If he played that way on Sundays and you got him 15 snaps, you know, 10 to 15 snaps is a blocker and special teamer.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's valuable in the Kyle Shanahan offense that likes to do 12, 22 personnel.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: I know juice, you know, with the broken finger, he's gonna be fine week one, no concern there.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: But that was what it again, Wesley Grimes.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm a Wesley Grimes fanatic.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's my guy, undrafted free agent, wide receiver, huge fast, all those things.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: I only played 13 snaps, a huge impact.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: I only had one catch, you know, is a nice physical contested catch.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody looked his way out from out there.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: But you go from watching 17 Jordan Walkins try to block, he doesn't even try to block.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Jordan Walkins won't touch anybody.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he literally, like, and that's the thing, I struggle.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: getting behind seven on seven football players in the NFL.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Watkins is that for me.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: It just, he's returning to punt.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: He is so worried about calling for a fair catch.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's out there blocking.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: Several plays will not touch anybody.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll watch guys tackle, you know, Jake Brindle-esque.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then 18 comes in at the same spot.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: And that dude's fight dudes and punch dudes.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: I like physicalities from a wide receiver.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Jordan Walkets, bad-ass wide receiver, gets separation, catches everything.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: got to give him credit there.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan walk it's terrible kick returner even the worst kick return lead blocker because there's two guys back there if it doesn't go to him you got a block for the other guy refused to didn't even touch anybody a two different kick off return see supposed to be lead blocker didn't touch a soul so many like I was even thinking dude if I put out just like 10 plays of Jordan walk it's trying to block it's it's it's scary
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: I totally understand why you didn't get playing time last year.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you got to be willing to block, Wesley Grimes, I like Grimes.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying I like him more than Jordan Walk.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's I'm saying watching 17 refused to block for three straight quarters and then 18 Grimes comes in and it's just like holy shit.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's Joanne Jennings, man.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: That dude's out there trying to start fights and get like
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: I like that is Jordan Walker's better than Grimes overall.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, he is.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying he's not.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: I want Wesley Grimes way more snaps.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: I liked what I saw special teams wise.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: I like it.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where that is.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, law of all?
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, JP?
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Carver Willis running with the ones.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then, Vader, yeah, I don't see Pleasant's making the roster.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: If Lewis said, I don't see Pleasant's making the roster as well.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: He is ascending.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: This is a career practice squad guy that played pretty damn good whenever filling in for Trent Williams last year.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna be honest with you.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe somebody does pick him up, but I don't think that he's making the 53 either.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here, JP, what do you feel about Martin tackling?
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: I watched the film, but wanted to know how you feel.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, Martin brings the thump.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: There is no doubt.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's just so inconsistent and slow to recognize when to feel just slow diagnosed and slow react, but on the plays where he has a blitz call, he's unbelievable.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to remove the thinking.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's just not ready.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's not ready.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: But I am not ready to say Nick Martin's not it.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think he could be a guy.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Jayden Dougher, the areas where Nick Martin misses Jayden Dougher's already selling at that's the indictment, right?
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: But he made so many good plays.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: It probably the thing that's going to determine who plays the most.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: You got to cover as that number three backer, especially with all the 13 personnel that's going to be taking place in the NFC West with Seattle with Arizona with
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: the rams, of course, who started the whole trend, that number three backers got a cover.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Martin was awesome in coverage.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: There was one zone drop that he had where he flares out perfectly, right where he's supposed to be on the flare running back flare and then got dead to cut off the corner and then this was the play that he got the personal foul, but like do the zone spot zone drop was awesome.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he played well.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he played well on special teams.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not a polished project.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm proud of it.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not sure Nick Martin's ready to start, but, yeah, all right here.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: Don't bother me.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: He says, Alfred Collins, plus Mac Jones, plus a pick for Vita Vaya,
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: that's a little too spicy for me.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: I see Mac Jones worth the second.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: I see Alfred Collins worth a late third or fourth at this point.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen so much good tape from Collins at the last spot of the year.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's slow to come back from injuries.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: We saw that last year.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: tape was bad.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Mac Jones is a late second.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean Collins and Mac Jones in a seventh for Vita Vega.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'd be cool with that.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how much, but why would they want Mac Jones and Baker may feel.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand that point Steven.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you Collins Mac Jones and a seventh.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: All right, cool.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm cool with that.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's about as good as I would go Oscar.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, man?
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, brother.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Says hashtag CC.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know that as been thrown around that strip and others That look good should be shut down until week one can't get better
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: If you're playing safe in my eyes, you got to play.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Rookie's got to play.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: You got to get reps. You got to be ready for week one.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: You got to play.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I kind of like what the 49ers are doing with the vets.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, you got to sit.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: Vets sit.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Play it safe with them.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: No, Rookie's got to play in the preseason period.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like I like that they're playing.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: Strips got to keep playing.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Now, maybe you just put them out there for the first quarter, a couple, whatever.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to keep playing.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: have to have to have to can't play it too safe with that's you play it safe.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know what that is.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, look at this big red.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: John, just got home from my senior football picks.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a Terry eyed moment.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: My kids held a picture of my passaway of why I saw a emotional man dude.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: Not the beloved for you, but appreciate what you're pouring out into those kids, coaching high school ball.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: I talked to a couple coaching buddies yesterday.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: You guys literally changed the lives of so many kids.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: I would not have made it out.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: the high school football coaches changed my life.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Big Red, for what you do.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: And not the butt love for you and your family and do, I know how much you pour into those guys.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do appreciate you, man.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, dang.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: It says less than a week, till preseason high school football got DeSoto and prosper, good Lord.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: DeSoto, yeah, that's not gonna go well.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: They are, they are a behemoth.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: All right, here, Oscar, he says,
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: a second, man, the thing is on a delay.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: I apologize about that.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Second, in 2027, Nick Martin, to Tennessee, from Jeffrey Simmons, to get Jeffrey Simmons, I think you'd have to trade three first round picks, maybe more.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the best defense attacker in the NFL.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some off the field major issues, but
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, they're a Jeffrey Simmons ain't going nowhere.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think you get off for two first round picks and you wouldn't get them.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the best.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: But Nick Martin going to Tennessee.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right there.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: Invader, you and Johnny Dale, you guys hold this thought.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: That is good company to be.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: And Carver Willis will take that job no later than week, week eight.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: I would be so happy if he did.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: The run blocking is such a major issue for the 49ers and Carver Willis is an ace already at it, but man, Brock pretty is going to get crushed.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: I had ride with Connor Colby right now and then we would see what would happen with.

- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: All right, a couple other updates that I thought were awesome.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: This would from Lombardy to Sean Striblings, already been removed from special team drills.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: So getting that vet treatment, he's off to the side, working with Mike Evans on wide receiver drills, just another testament that Striblings has passed whatever bar that is.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's huge.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so that is a big deal.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to, you know, to Sean Striveling, getting to that point.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is a big deal that like, look, this rookie, a lot of rookies, you have to make the roster with special teams.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's surpassed
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously he's making this team.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's the 33rd overall pick in this draft class, but come on man Sean Stribling that dude that dude is that dude stick with wide receiver to Marcus Robinson multiple catches again didn't seem in the preseason game.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: He is that guy.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: He just continues to deliver with the first team second team 13 doesn't matter to Marcus Robinson is a staple consistent wide receiver production way ahead like the depth chart for the wide receiver room obviously Mike Evans to Sean Stribling Debo Samuel Jordan walk in those year for those year for Chris Kirk has a practice Jordan walk is would probably be your five
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're like, okay, who's going to be that six Christian Kirk, Jacob Cowain.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody, but your four set my Kevin Dibo strip to Marcus Robinson, those are your four.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: You got room for definitely one more Jordan walk, it seems to be the leader in the clubhouse with the performance he had.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Still flawed performance, Jacob Cowain, come on man.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do something Christian Kirk that calf strains.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a month.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: been a month.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's working on the side field, but with wide receivers, you got hit that GPS numbers.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: So like whenever you do your contentioning tests and they aware of their GPS trackers all the time, so you're hitting those numbers consistently, you don't get to go back to practice.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: You mess up a castrain again.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're talking to another month as soon as you pull it, somebody who's had shoot 10 plus in his life, but I am not.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: and then a fell athlete.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: R-S-F, nine or shout out to Roch.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: D-Bosangios continues to show cases first until a practice getting reps out of the back field.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: Making multiple catches over the middle and team drills and worked on building kickoffs.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot go out there with Jordan Walkins as a kickoff returner.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't do that.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: If an injury or two happens, cool, you can't have Jordan Walkins out there.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's not physical enough.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: If they don't kick it to them, you're screwed.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: You're playing 10 against 11.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like he showed you that.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Can't do it.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: Debo should be on every single kickoff return if he's signed.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: But you gotta have two guys back there.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: Gotta have two.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: Who's gonna be that number two, Katelyn Black, Jordan James?
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Cannot be Jordan Walkins.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like that ship has sailed.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's shown you, he refuses, he just refuses to block.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: He won't do it.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Also, um, shout out from 49ers website, I don't know who the original was.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Coach Yack put this up there.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: But again, I don't know who the original one is.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers worked out tight and collil deacons.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's back, baby.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: So he was released on an injury settlement.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: And here's how this works in the NFL.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Depending on the injury, you set a timeline.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's a standard timeline for like a cash string, six weeks, hamstring, eight weeks, high ankle spring, eight weeks, ACL, nine months.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: So whatever the injury was, which it was in a fight.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: So the four of ours didn't have to disclose it.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: They released them on an injury settlement.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: So whatever that injury is, let's say it had three weeks left.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: You pay him upfront on those three weeks.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: And once that time expires, then you can have them back.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: That seems to be where they are.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: So Khalil Dinkens work it out for the 49ers today.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: And again, they don't have to divulge the injury.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't know the timeline.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: But it would be nice to get him back if he has eclipsed that time.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: He got paid.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: You bring him back.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: You gave them all that, you know, undrafted free agent care and team money.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: So he's already got that.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: It could be nice.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Hayden Rootsie looking good, but Khalil Dinkens upside way past what?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, didn't root she could do.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: Rhys, thou that's didn't look good.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with that assessment.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Sebastian Valdez, I talked about this yesterday in the first half, so many amazing plays, so many got off a place.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: That continued in the second half.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: There was one play where he got blown off the ball in a single block 14 yards.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: Literally in a run play, he got driven off the ball for, I'm not exaggerating, like that's how bad it was.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Very next play at attack for loss.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: There's a place for that in the NFL, but you can't be a defensive tackle getting driven off the ball 14 yards.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: Alfred Collins had some bad plays.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt, but the 14 yards, yeah, I agree with that assessment.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that overall he looked good.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: Some splash plays, some splash plays for sure.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is there, yeah.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Halton is really good, make it to it, Halton's.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: freaking awesome dude.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: That dude is so freaking good.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'm so bad right here.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: John Carver will us take so far.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: We too.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love it, man.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not touching some of these questions.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_00]: You guys are awesome.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: I love y'all, man.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here, William.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Seattle, Santerian Arnold.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: alleged kidnapper and doing that shit during the season.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: I get talent talents always going to get extra, you know, chances do shame on them.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Shame on them.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's a joke.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: The funny thing is,
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: You get, you know, if you're watching hard knocks, which I love and you got to head coach out there talking about being a good dad and being a good person off the field in the same day, you sign Terry on Arnold the same day.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, talent gives second chances, man.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do it that shit man.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's fucking coward.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to ask kids to wear that jersey and you got to let it, you know, the process play out, but
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yuck, kid, what's up?
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate the consistent safety conversation from kid clients, hell, 19.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: John, I'm going to let him see going Ash and Davis rotate in that free safety.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: The thing with Seagull, he's better than he was last year.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's already shown that.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's tough as hell, the run game, awesome.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he played really, really well.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: Ash and Davis was consistent and not a playmaker, but consistent.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: stock up with those two players.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: I after the first preseason game.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: Don't bother me.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: Hot takes dribbling rookie of the year, JK.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: It would be nice for the franchise.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: It sure as hell would be.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that would be awesome.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: The chat, you guys are bum, brindale.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: Stefan says, John is pronounced brindale, brindale.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's how they say it.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Mark, what's up, Mark P?
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: Walkets must believe he's one entry away from ending his career.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: He just plays so timid.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, that was a perfect fit at Ole Miss, where you don't have to block ever.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: And you literally take plays off.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: I went through walking state, but I was like, dude, this is a undraftable player to me.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: But the upside is there.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: The speed, the vertical, the separation.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like he's a seven on seven player.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: Can he develop?
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: the physicality and shout out to you know, a player that also fits that exact same diagnosis on the off side Jacob Robinson.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of the worst graded run players in the entire NFL through preseason last year small, shifty, you know, we was on the show.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: He was awesome shout out to Jacob, he came out, dump it baby.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: Little grasshopper got some pop to him.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: And so like you can overcome that.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Ed, you know, you got to sit, you sit through film and you watch that tape of Jordan walkins and you're just like dude, you can't do these things.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're catching the ball.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're getting open.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: There's more, you don't block, you don't get to rock.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason why Jordan walk is didn't play and there's a reason why it was getting so many snaps all the way into the fourth quarter.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: You got to get those reps and you got to show you belong every play can't like ball ain't always coming to you.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're not thrown into Jordan walkins, he is a major weakness on the roster if he's out there because you're blocking with tin, not 11.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Can he change that?
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: Can he change that?
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Can he change that?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: John, I understand walking this can catch but he needs to be the complete package.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: He is not that.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's not that.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: Um, invader, I knew he'd love the part of Strippling's game because he was a great blocker in college and Strippling struggled blocking too, but you at least see him engage and make contact Strippling struggling block it a defensive end Jordan walkage refused to block a safety Um, and yeah, I do value corners that can play in the run game more than I probably should.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: I value wide receivers that can block in the run game probably more than I should corner should cover wide receivers should catch
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's the primary, I don't like flawed prospects.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Amberi Thomas, God, couldn't stand them.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: Kello with her spoon when he was with us, couldn't stand them.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't, I just don't like soft football players.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: And like, it's just not me.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: uh... invader i'd boss and concept shit conception over cooper i'd boss and over both of them i was the biggest in cell boss at first round great rush crush all those things he's killing it out there now we'll see what happens and i'm very happy with the choice forty nighter said didn't you know stripling over all those guys that may be not case he conception but uh... you know that's kind of do with that which you will also you know in my notes wanted to talk about tate them
- 38:58[SPEAKER_01]: And again, when we're talking about guys like Nick Martin struggling to diagnose Jordan walkins being soft, Tatum Bethlehem is a guy that has overcome so many obstacles from his rookie tape.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: When Tatum Bethlehem came out his rookie year, I was like, dude, I don't know if this is a player you want to spend time on, he can't cover, he's the worst special teams player I've seen, he could just play in the run games, not a complete player.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: to men, you can't write these guys off.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: Just because they're not there now, doesn't mean they won't be.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Tato Mbethun is a stud special teamer.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's one preseason game, but you've seen the incline through all of last year.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's out there covering, making perfect communication calls, he's the backup Mikey's blitzing now, making plays in space which he could not even dream of doing his rookie year.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: Tato Mbethun's gonna have a long ass NFL career.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: I believe this.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: If he stays healthy, that's always, you know, a caveat, but now he's out there community correcting Nick Martin or where to go, blitzing, getting sacks, making plays on special team, getting good zone drops, and coverage hasn't done that.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like the the growth.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: This guy's going to be signed as a mid tier starter replacement, Mike player in the NFL, whenever his rookie contracts over he's going to backup
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: Be a special teams guy and, you know, that's what he's going to do here for the 49ers.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: When his rookie deals done, there's going to be a team that's going to say, man, we can't pay a lot for a starting mic, but we need somebody we could trust and Tato Benson's going to get that contract.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be getting paid, you know, kind of $45 million to be a back-end mic starter for a team that just needs to plug a spot with the veteran.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: This guy's going to play in the end.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so proud of Tato
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: was he was just a run only guy now dude like that is just awesome the development take them back through dude yeah it maybe you trade him
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: Bethany, maybe you get back a draft pick because you trade them.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to, I'm very thankful they traded D winners.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was best for D winners.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was best for the 49ers.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was best for the Cowboys.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's weird to get that triple win-win win trade.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: What would I take for Bethany?
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Probably not a fifth, maybe a fourth, maybe I would take a fifth, but like, dude, he's a good player.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: And you need that depth because who knows if Fred Warner's one of the most durable players in the NFL, but whatever he went down.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a huge drop off from Fred Warner to Tatum Bethan.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: But dude, if you need a Tatum Bethan to go in at will, you could.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: You need a Tatum Bethan to go on Sam, you could.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: You need him go in at Mikey, could.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: Special teams, yes.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm just telling you, that is a quality, depth player on your roster that most teams do not have the luxury of having in 58.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: Tatum Betoon is a guy.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: He is a guy that has just put up so much consistent tape.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: Dude's going to be playing in the NFL for a long time.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: I love that, man.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Mark P. Betoon got the look of injuries as well.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not just to develop off the field guy, yeah.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's awesome.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's awesome.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Send appreciate you.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: Keep kind to you.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Larry worth will clear waivers if he doesn't make the 53.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, your safety game is on point.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Given, you know, Larry where's playing will, but that's the NFL.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL is all linebackers that are former safety and cover guys now, Fred Warner started that.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: There is life at linebacker before Fred Warner and after.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: He changed it, changed the game.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's how impactful he is.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: Layer works out there playing with linebacker.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: There was a clip today, RS Arash, Raj, you freaking stud you.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: He had a clip of layer worth knocking down.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they got the assistant coach out there with the pad and you run it through.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: Layerworkplay 13 plays on defense and made a huge impact.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's putting up consistent tape.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is a rookie tri-out player, not even a rookie traffic, not an undrafted free agent, no, no, no.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's a rookie tri-out player.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Traits, galore.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: Ah.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: me he's he's fun.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: He got to get more snaps.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: He Larry like these guys that are back into the roster guys.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: These are guys that are going to play the entire third preseason game.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: Had 13 snaps last week.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think you probably gets about 20 in the second game.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: Probably gets 40 in that third preseason game.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what it could do.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what he could do.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, let me go, check out his profile reference page.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see the transactions.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see here.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: They signed up in 2024.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: Place them on IR, IR to return, IR to return.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he might, may have got cut because, yeah, I think he might have.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: That transaction page needs to be updated.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Bethoon's been freaking awesome, dude.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I love it.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Larry, work came out of nowhere.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that is awesome.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: That is awesome.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see here.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: I got more notes.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, how cool is this that we are at this point in the season baby where we got filled.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: We've got depth chart changes.

- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: I missed it.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: One, Mike Evans is back in 14 drills.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Cowen is back at practice.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones, who hurt his hand, he's practice and didn't miss one single practice.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: Mark East Seagull was out with an oblique, didn't miss one practice, he's practicing.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Martin with a stinger in the game.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's back practicing.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 positive entry things.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: Focus on the positive.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is such a big deal in the Vator.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Trent Williams, they asked all the quote on Grayson Houghton, it reminds me of DJ Jones a little bit.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I talked about Grayson Houghton yesterday and I said, like, as excited as everybody is about dribbling, you should feel that same excitement about Grayson Houghton.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's how good the tape was.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now the first half I said I couldn't find one negative on Grayson Hall.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: I found a negative play in the third quarter.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Finally had one.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: Just got moved out of his gap and but like, man, one negative play.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: It got washed down a little too much and the run game and.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: Whoopty do.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: And on that funny thing on that play, Nick Martin made a hell of a play.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't get to stop in a resulted in a huge positive run game, but Grayson Haunt got washed all the way past the other guard on the backside.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it was just a gigantic hole.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Martin.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: steps up feels each grass attacks vertically like you want them to do more often takes on the blocker with the perfect outside shoulder but because Grace and Haunt got washed down so far that gap was just too big.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Martin played it perfectly but backside backer got got and anyway again all this is up on the 49ers rush.com you go watch it and it's gonna make a lot of sense but yeah Trent William St. Grace and Haunt reminds me of DJ Jones a little bit.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Trent Williams.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: He will send out the most crazy top end praise for his teammates.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: And you love that to have a Hall of Famer and door shoe behind a mic like that.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's important.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's awesome.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: In Vader, I trade Bethoon Arm Martin and keep Larry Worth.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_01]: Martin has more upside, especially with Robert Solin, a different team now, but they drafted Anthony Hill Jr., like, they drafted him in the second round, like, a little bit different betthoon.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's going to be a market for some of these guys.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: Might be able to get a six for a betthoon.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: Might be able to get a fourth fifth for Martin.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think you want to wait a little bit.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: Now, a lot of the acid determinants, what's straight green loss plan?
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: Are you planning to bring them back for more than one year?
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: If not, Bethany and Martin could be that guy in the future.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm taking both of them over Larry Worth currently, but if somebody's willing to overpay off the top, all right then, you're going to give me a four for Martin and that means I get to keep Larry Worth cool.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to give me a fifth for Bethany and that means I get to keep Larry Worth cool.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think teams are out of there like up there knocking on the door to offer that and the time for those types of trades is right before the 53 man cut down.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's not now.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: So there's still time because teams are starting to see is our backup back are going to take steps.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: And the $40 right to see is Larry worth going to continue to be in a sending trade player.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that that's the move.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: that you try to make right now.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't think that's the move yet.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right here, the 10 X U, CMC got 30 touches because the Niners offense was depleted.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: The addition of Stribbling, Evans, Debo will cut into that production.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: Sign me up.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way it's supposed to operate.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: Last year when your wide receiver one is to mark this Robinson ahead, freaking a banged up, hobbled, you know, Ricky Pierce saw, and Joanne Jennings, I get it.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: George Kittles out, I get it.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: This year, Striblins, Evans, Debo, still got to mark his Robinson.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Christian Kirk comes back like there are more options.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McCaffrey should not be averaging 30 plus touches a game.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McCaffrey should not be leading the NFL and touches should not be.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: Not with this offense can Kyle limit himself.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: If Matt Jones was a quarterback, CFC would still get 30 touches a game because Matt Jones is going to throw it to 23 every single time.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a bad plan.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a bad thing.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McCaffrey should not be getting 30 touches a game with this roster at the skill set position.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: If it does cut back to that 20, 25 touches a game, man, should be about 22 touches a game, which is still insane, right?
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's still insane.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: Let me open the calculator because I'm not a smart man.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: 22 times 17, that's still 374 touches.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's say, okay, Christian McAfrey's going to miss some time.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say 22 times 14, I still 300 and eight touches.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's still a ridiculous amount.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, you look at throughout Christian McAfrey's career.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: And it's pretty freaking hilarious.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: The amount of touches that this guy has had.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: How many touches did he have last year?
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: 413?
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's stupid.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: He had 339 touches in 2023.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: He had 403 touches in 2019.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: Two prior times.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 403 touches is 2019.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: Next year, 76.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: Body couldn't hold up.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: Got a 2022 or sorry, 2023, 3309 touches.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_01]: Next year, 65 body couldn't hold up.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: Does that predict?
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: The future for CMC, man, he looks good.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McAfrey looks way better than at any point he did in training camp last year or the year before.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_01]: Way better.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, Jordan James and Katelyn Black.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still Jordan James should be ahead of Katelyn Black until he's got to prove.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: In the fact that he's missed this much time he can't really really bothers me hurts for a 25 year old rookie.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: But Jordan James and Katelyn Black
- 53:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're not practicing.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Pacino.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, CMC's got a ton of cut touches.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: Trust me, Shinyan going to use them as much as possible.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: I hope not.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that Kyle Shinyan doesn't pepper Debo with targets against me in coverage.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that Kyle Shinyan doesn't dial up 400 plus touches for Christian McAfrey.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: You hope.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: You hope Kyle Shinyan will finally play
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: these are hopes.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't seen it yet.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't seen it yet.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully that changes.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are awesome.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: Today has been awesome.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: Again, you're walking away from today.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: You're loving the depth chart changes.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that Carver Willis is getting reps with ones.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge Connor Colby getting reps at left guard, not Robert Jones.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge Robert Jones was awful.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then all the positive injury news, that's huge.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love it.
