- 1:25Speaker 8: Welcome.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Welcome to crime Watch Daily.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Everyone.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm Chris Hansen. We start today with the hunt for
- 1:32Speaker 1: two mystery men accused him gutting down a teenager in
- 1:35Speaker 1: a park near Atlanta. Jason Motto is there now with
- 1:39Speaker 1: new details on the murder of Bridgid Shield.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Chris, the nineteen year old hairstylist and music video model,
- 1:45Speaker 4: grew up in a military family. She danced ballet and
- 1:48Speaker 4: even outplayed the boys on the soccer field, a popular
- 1:54Speaker 4: city park where families gather, children play, and where nineteen
- 1:59Speaker 4: year old Bridget she was shot seven times while running
- 2:03Speaker 4: for her life.
- 2:06Speaker 8: Rage absolutely rage.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Was someone trying to send a.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Message, somebody hated her and wanted her dead?
- 2:16Speaker 4: Or did a little secret life lead to her death?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Were Bridget's friends aware?
- 2:23Speaker 5: Had no idea?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Plus speaking about the case for the first time outside
- 2:28Speaker 4: of an interrogation room, did the police say that you
- 2:31Speaker 4: were a suspect?
- 2:32Speaker 5: They said, I was a number one suspect.
- 2:35Speaker 4: A crime Waunch Daily exclusive with the man some people
- 2:38Speaker 4: believe may know more than he's letting on. Was there
- 2:42Speaker 4: a person she was scared of? Oh, it was just
- 2:50Speaker 4: before seven am when they found her naked body. Not
- 2:54Speaker 4: the people, but the strays or the dogs eating her body.
- 3:00Speaker 8: There's no reports that they were, but they were definitely
- 3:03Speaker 8: circling her body, so that's pretty sat up.
- 3:06Speaker 4: A man walking through the park showed the dogs away
- 3:09Speaker 4: a short time later, and soon after that, Atlanta homicide
- 3:14Speaker 4: detectives swarm the area, but with no personal effects found
- 3:19Speaker 4: on or around the victim, they have little to go on,
- 3:23Speaker 4: that is, other than her wounds.
- 3:26Speaker 8: There's indications, based on the autopsy, that some of those
- 3:29Speaker 8: shots came from a straight down angle, which tells me
- 3:32Speaker 8: she was on the ground already likely dead, but someone
- 3:36Speaker 8: still standing over her and fired.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It was over to.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Especially when you consider the type of bullets used to
- 3:43Speaker 4: end her life, designed to fragment out on impact, as
- 3:46Speaker 4: shown in this video from the manufacturer. They're called radically
- 3:51Speaker 4: invasive projectiles aka RIP bullets. The fact that these bullets
- 3:58Speaker 4: were used, do you think I'm message was being sent?
- 4:01Speaker 9: We were told that the people who use those types
- 4:04Speaker 9: of bullets are definitely sitting a message. The average joe
- 4:08Speaker 9: on a street would not use those in a crime,
- 4:10Speaker 9: and the way she was found with no clothes.
- 4:13Speaker 5: There's also a reason that some said there was definitely
- 4:18Speaker 5: a message being sent.
- 4:21Speaker 4: So then what was that message? And just who was
- 4:24Speaker 4: the young girl met with such a violent end only
- 4:32Speaker 4: nineteen when she died. Bridget grew up in Washington, DC,
- 4:36Speaker 4: raised mostly by her grandparents, Jim and Beverly Tool.
- 4:41Speaker 7: She was a live wire, full of energy, full of life,
- 4:45Speaker 7: so so much fun to be around, and she was
- 4:50Speaker 7: very dramatic. If the sun was shining, she wouldn't say
- 4:54Speaker 7: the sun is shining, She'd say, look at the day.
- 4:59Speaker 4: But even at a young she had her demons, a
- 5:02Speaker 4: dad she never knew and a mom she rarely saw.
- 5:06Speaker 7: She got sadder as she got older. She did have
- 5:09Speaker 7: low self esteem, and she was teased un mercifully because
- 5:14Speaker 7: of her size.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Her first year of.
- 5:16Speaker 7: High school was honor roll, and then she started skipping school.
- 5:21Speaker 7: She was making such bad life choices, hanging out with
- 5:26Speaker 7: the wrong people, you know, just she was making her
- 5:30Speaker 7: life dangerous and it scared us.
- 5:35Speaker 4: So when Bridget decided that she wanted to go live
- 5:38Speaker 4: with her mom over six hundred miles away in Atlanta,
- 5:41Speaker 4: Beverly agreed.
- 5:43Speaker 7: I thought it would give her a new chance.
- 5:45Speaker 4: And it seemed to. In Atlanta, Bridget appeared to shed
- 5:49Speaker 4: her low self esteem, becoming a model and pursuing a
- 5:52Speaker 4: career in the limelight.
- 5:55Speaker 8: I mean, Atlanta's the new Hollywood of the South. It's
- 5:58Speaker 8: the new Motown. I mean there's app studio on every
- 6:01Speaker 8: corner here in Atlanta. So I think she was attracted
- 6:03Speaker 8: to what Atlanta had to offer someone trying to go
- 6:07Speaker 8: on to bigger and better things.
- 6:09Speaker 7: She really wanted to find a way to be the
- 6:13Speaker 7: center of attention for the whole nation, if.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Not the world.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Then a break, Bridget gets cast as an Amber Rose
- 6:22Speaker 4: lookalike in this video for a recording artist Chris Waddle
- 6:27Speaker 4: song by Gay or Open Fire.
- 6:30Speaker 7: I was excited for, I said, Bridget, you always wanted
- 6:34Speaker 7: a big stage. It was what she really wanted to do.
- 6:40Speaker 4: But apparently there was some pretty dark shadows surrounding that spotlight.
- 6:46Speaker 8: I actually did a simple Google search and it pulled
- 6:48Speaker 8: up several backpage ads, and of course backpages is usually
- 6:52Speaker 8: used for people presenting themselves, escorts are charging for services,
- 6:57Speaker 8: let's just say, and there were several ads that had
- 6:59Speaker 8: pictures Bridget in less than full clothing, you know, presenting
- 7:03Speaker 8: herself as an escort.
- 7:05Speaker 4: And posted under the names Nastia and Spice. They read
- 7:10Speaker 4: in part I make every encounter special and I aim
- 7:15Speaker 4: to please in the most desirable ways. Were Bridget's friends
- 7:19Speaker 4: aware of her backpage dealings?
- 7:22Speaker 5: Had no idea?
- 7:23Speaker 9: And was she living out of fantasy a dream?
- 7:25Speaker 3: We don't know? She can't tell us.
- 7:27Speaker 4: But Bridget's grandma says she doesn't think Bridget was doing
- 7:31Speaker 4: it on her own free will.
- 7:32Speaker 7: I thought that her boyfriend must have gotten her to
- 7:37Speaker 7: do that. I wouldn't be surprised at all that he
- 7:43Speaker 7: hadn't talked her into doing that.
- 7:45Speaker 4: The boyfriend she's talking about is Kevin Kenney, and friends
- 7:49Speaker 4: apparently had a lot to say about him.
- 7:54Speaker 9: He was older, spent some time in and out of jail,
- 7:58Speaker 9: and there were claims from friends in the community, from
- 8:03Speaker 9: others that he was perhaps part of an underground organization.
- 8:09Speaker 4: A gang, a gang.
- 8:12Speaker 9: We had a couple of police reports that perhaps their
- 8:16Speaker 9: relationship was very volatile.
- 8:17Speaker 4: In fact, just a few months before Bridget was murdered,
- 8:21Speaker 4: she made this call to nine.
- 8:24Speaker 5: To see emergency please there was and order on some March.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Were you assaulted anyway?
- 8:32Speaker 5: And who was this person to you? He was my boyfriend.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I don't want you guys to go to your.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Bridget goes on to tell police Kevin hit her in
- 8:44Speaker 4: the face, but ultimately she declined to press charges. Then
- 8:50Speaker 4: just two days later, police would return to the home,
- 8:53Speaker 4: not for Kenny, but for Bridget, who was fighting with
- 8:58Speaker 4: another woman. Other woman to be exact.
- 9:03Speaker 8: This is some love triangle going on here, yes, Jerry
- 9:06Speaker 8: Springer type love triangle.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Turns out, before her death, Bridget was living with Kevin
- 9:12Speaker 4: and the mother of his child, Brittany a Laca.
- 9:16Speaker 8: So you had Bridget, Kevin, and this young lady, Brittany
- 9:21Speaker 8: all living under the same roof.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Was that the source of the acrimony and the domestic disputes?
- 9:27Speaker 2: You could only assume it was.
- 9:29Speaker 8: I mean, there's no way you can live with your
- 9:32Speaker 8: current girlfriend and live with your child's mother and there
- 9:36Speaker 8: not be some type of friction.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Between all parties involved. It's impossible.
- 9:41Speaker 4: In fact, CBS forty six Atlanta reporter Karen Greer says
- 9:46Speaker 4: she spoke to a friend of Bridget's who wished to
- 9:49Speaker 4: remain anonymous, but who said there may have been one
- 9:53Speaker 4: very big source of friction in particular.
- 9:57Speaker 3: She told me she was pregnant, and I was I'm
- 10:03Speaker 3: not happy to hear that.
- 10:05Speaker 9: The friend said that, you know, Bridget was very afraid,
- 10:08Speaker 9: and she told me she Bridget didn't even want to
- 10:10Speaker 9: tell Kevin she was pregnant.
- 10:12Speaker 4: And that was reportedly just a few weeks before her
- 10:15Speaker 4: death was coming up.
- 10:18Speaker 8: Of around eleven thirty, She's seen at a shell gas
- 10:20Speaker 8: station with two black males.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Breaking down Bridget Shield's last hours alive and an exclusive
- 10:28Speaker 4: interview with Bridget's ex boyfriend Kevin Kenney. But there's a
- 10:32Speaker 4: nine one one caller Bridget saying that you hit it.
- 10:35Speaker 4: So this is called nine one.
- 10:36Speaker 5: She really called She really called it my fantasy.
- 10:39Speaker 4: She called the cops. I mean, seriously, you don't know this.
- 10:45Speaker 1: We're back now with more of our all new investigation
- 10:48Speaker 1: into the shooting death of Bridget Shield. Let's head back
- 10:50Speaker 1: to Atlanta and our Jason Litt.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Chris.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Police say Bridget was running away from her killer when
- 10:56Speaker 4: she was gonne down. Her bullet ridden body was found
- 10:59Speaker 4: here at this Atlanta park. Now, the big question, who
- 11:03Speaker 4: pulled the trigger? Despite all odds, I'm still here. The
- 11:10Speaker 4: words spelled now in just one of the tattoos used
- 11:13Speaker 4: to help identify the body of nineteen year old Bridget Shield.
- 11:19Speaker 7: I spoke to her the day before she was murdered.
- 11:22Speaker 7: I had sent her money because she needed a place
- 11:25Speaker 7: to stay. She wanted to not stay with Kevin and
- 11:29Speaker 7: go stay in a motel. I wanted her to be
- 11:32Speaker 7: able to do that.
- 11:34Speaker 4: She means Bridget's boyfriend, Kevin Kinney, a man police would
- 11:38Speaker 4: be talking to soon enough. But first, what do we
- 11:42Speaker 4: know about Bridget's movements the night she died. There were
- 11:45Speaker 4: pictures of her.
- 11:46Speaker 9: On Snapchat dancing, having fun, and a picture before she
- 11:53Speaker 9: headed out of her house that night.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Then, around ten thirty, a snapchat taken not far from
- 11:58Speaker 4: where her body would be found.
- 12:01Speaker 8: She sent a snapchat saying too pretty to walk in
- 12:03Speaker 8: the grass. A few minutes later, she calls a friend.
- 12:06Speaker 8: The friend says, hey, she seemed fine. Nothing was a miss.
- 12:09Speaker 4: But sometime very shortly after that, everything changed.
- 12:13Speaker 9: After that we get a report that some neighbors watched
- 12:17Speaker 9: some people escorting her through that area of the park.
- 12:22Speaker 8: At around eleven thirty, she's seen at a Shell gas
- 12:24Speaker 8: station in Stone Mountain, Georgia, with two black males.
- 12:28Speaker 4: The last known people to see her alive.
- 12:31Speaker 7: And I've heard that she was at a gas station
- 12:35Speaker 7: in her car. She was not driving, she was in
- 12:39Speaker 7: the front seat, but in the passenger side, and I've
- 12:43Speaker 7: heard that she looked very unhappy.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Two hours after that, around one thirty am, a man
- 12:49Speaker 4: calls nine to one one to report hearing multiple shots
- 12:52Speaker 4: at the park and then the gruesome discovery.
- 12:58Speaker 7: On the that she was murdered. She had texted me
- 13:03Speaker 7: that morning, darling, I love you, and she had also called,
- 13:09Speaker 7: but somehow my phone got turned off, so I missed
- 13:12Speaker 7: her call.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Police immediately canvassed the area looking for witnesses and coups,
- 13:18Speaker 4: and one day after that.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Atlanta Police confirmed to us that that is bridget Shields car.
- 13:23Speaker 2: You can see it there that red Ford Fusion.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Where was her vehicle found?
- 13:27Speaker 8: It was actually found, ironically about two miles from where
- 13:32Speaker 8: she was last seen with those two black male individuals,
- 13:35Speaker 8: which is actually about twenty miles from where she was killed.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Did the car have any coups, any DNA that was
- 13:42Speaker 4: able to be used for the investigation.
- 13:45Speaker 2: If it has, it hasn't been released by Atlanta Peter.
- 13:48Speaker 4: So, who were those two still unidentified males last scene
- 13:52Speaker 4: with Bridget? And why were they there. Bridget's grandma, Beverly,
- 13:56Speaker 4: has one very strong opinion.
- 13:59Speaker 7: What I think is that Kevin are Kevin's girlfriend, Brittany
- 14:06Speaker 7: got someone to kill her. That's what I think. It
- 14:11Speaker 7: could be totally wrong, but that's what I think right now.
- 14:17Speaker 4: It was a bold accusation, but police did question both
- 14:21Speaker 4: Kevin and his other girlfriend shortly after the murder, and
- 14:25Speaker 4: today neither has been publicly named by police and no
- 14:29Speaker 4: charges have ever been filed. We reached out to both
- 14:32Speaker 4: Brittany and Kevin for comment, with Brittany declining to give
- 14:35Speaker 4: an official statement other than to say she is trying
- 14:39Speaker 4: to put it all behind her and focus on being
- 14:41Speaker 4: a mother. As for Kevin, Kevin told us over the
- 14:45Speaker 4: phone that he has been cleared as a suspect by
- 14:48Speaker 4: the police.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Have you heard that?
- 14:51Speaker 4: Have not heard that. I have not heard that at all.
- 14:55Speaker 4: It's a surprise to us.
- 14:56Speaker 9: You seem skeptical, surprised, And I want to add, I
- 15:01Speaker 9: don't know Kevin.
- 15:03Speaker 5: I've never met Kevin.
- 15:04Speaker 9: I'm just going by things that friends and people in
- 15:06Speaker 9: the community have told me.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Police are remaining tight lipped, citing their ongoing investigation, but
- 15:13Speaker 4: with all the speculation flying around, we had to try
- 15:16Speaker 4: and get more of Kevin's side, and after ignoring our
- 15:20Speaker 4: requests for months, he finally agreed to sit down for
- 15:24Speaker 4: an interview, his first anywhere outside of a police station. Kevin,
- 15:30Speaker 4: why'd you decide to sit down with Crimewatch Daily and
- 15:33Speaker 4: tell your story for the first time?
- 15:36Speaker 5: Because Bridge really went a lot to me, and I've
- 15:40Speaker 5: seen the message that I got from you guys, you know,
- 15:43Speaker 5: a couple months ago, but I really didn't know how
- 15:44Speaker 5: to sit down because it was just taking apart and
- 15:49Speaker 5: I don't know, I didn't even know how to answer
- 15:50Speaker 5: the questions that you guys have have for me. I
- 15:51Speaker 5: didn't know what to say.
- 15:52Speaker 4: And we did have questions, first and foremost, did the
- 15:56Speaker 4: police say that you were a suspect?
- 15:59Speaker 5: They said it was a suspect, so it was number
- 16:00Speaker 5: one suspect.
- 16:01Speaker 4: This is the one suspect.
- 16:02Speaker 5: Ses the number one suspect, they said. Everybody thought I
- 16:04Speaker 5: did it.
- 16:05Speaker 4: But why would the police say that you're the number
- 16:07Speaker 4: one suspect and they think that you did it? What
- 16:10Speaker 4: did they tell you that they had on you?
- 16:13Speaker 5: Me being the most recent person that she was with.
- 16:16Speaker 5: That's all they can tell me.
- 16:17Speaker 4: That's it. But that wasn't it? Not even close? Coming up?
- 16:23Speaker 4: You had a unique living situation. The questions only get harder.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Why would you allow her to post the ads to backpage?
- 16:36Speaker 4: Not long after she was shot seven times in the back,
- 16:39Speaker 4: bridget Shields boyfriend, Kevin Kinney was questioned by police. He
- 16:44Speaker 4: says it was because he was the last known person
- 16:46Speaker 4: to be in a relationship with her. But what a
- 16:49Speaker 4: relationship it was. You had a unique living situation. When
- 16:54Speaker 4: did Bridget move in with you? And she would be
- 16:58Speaker 4: she moved in with you and your baby moved in
- 17:01Speaker 4: with me after we uh came to an understanding that
- 17:04Speaker 4: we both cared about each other. How did you break
- 17:05Speaker 4: the news to Brittany, the mother of your child, that
- 17:08Speaker 4: who's living with you with your kid, that you are
- 17:11Speaker 4: now moving in your girlfriend.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Straight up, just like I just told him, just like that. Yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 5: they caused like grama, it caused a lot of animacity
- 17:17Speaker 5: in hair.
- 17:17Speaker 4: You can see why that would cause animosity.
- 17:20Speaker 5: And then after that, that's when they were right out.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Well shortly after that, that's when the Bridget got physical
- 17:24Speaker 5: with her.
- 17:26Speaker 4: He's talking about an incident that happened just two months
- 17:29Speaker 4: before Bridget's murder, a heated fight between Bridget and Brittany
- 17:33Speaker 4: in which police were called and both girls spent the
- 17:37Speaker 4: night in jail. But I was even more interested in
- 17:41Speaker 4: something that happened just two days before that, a nine
- 17:44Speaker 4: to one one called Bridget placed in which she accused
- 17:48Speaker 4: Kevin of hitting her and more. I don't want you
- 17:51Speaker 4: guys to date, but there's a nine one one call
- 17:57Speaker 4: of Bridget saying that you hit her.
- 17:58Speaker 5: I'm not aware of that. I've never heard no call.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I've never heard any of this. I've never heard no
- 18:01Speaker 5: call out.
- 18:03Speaker 4: And we'll be happy to show you. But how do
- 18:05Speaker 4: you not know about this report? I mean, this is
- 18:07Speaker 4: how do you not know Bridget?
- 18:09Speaker 5: So this is nine one? She really called, She really.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Called fantasy, she called the cops. I mean, seriously, you
- 18:16Speaker 4: don't know this. How was the person you say you're
- 18:19Speaker 4: in love with do this and you have no idea
- 18:21Speaker 4: who's living with you?
- 18:22Speaker 5: I wasn't aware of this. This is man. I really
- 18:27Speaker 5: still want to see that when the interview, bro, I
- 18:29Speaker 5: want to see what you're just talking about.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Even though Kevin denies knowing about the call, he does
- 18:33Speaker 4: say that he never laid a hand on Bridget and
- 18:36Speaker 4: that if she did make that call, which she did,
- 18:39Speaker 4: he's not sure why, but as unbelievable as it all seemed,
- 18:43Speaker 4: I had to move on to other allegations, like that
- 18:47Speaker 4: Kevin was the one who actually got Bridget into the
- 18:50Speaker 4: escort business. Why would you allow her to post the
- 18:54Speaker 4: ads to backpage?
- 18:56Speaker 5: Well, at this time when she was posting, asked the backpage,
- 18:59Speaker 5: this move went together. So I wasn't.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Well, you weren't in the picture. This is before she
- 19:04Speaker 4: moved in with you. She was posting before she moved on,
- 19:08Speaker 4: and Kevin says, if anything, he was trying to get
- 19:10Speaker 4: her out of that life. So you were not cool
- 19:13Speaker 4: with Thieve back then?
- 19:14Speaker 5: Well, no, I wasn't cool at always. That's another reason
- 19:17Speaker 5: why I just pulled her. I just put her into
- 19:18Speaker 5: my house and I just had to be with her,
- 19:19Speaker 5: like I had to stick out the streets. That's what
- 19:21Speaker 5: I did.
- 19:22Speaker 4: But ultimately the love triangle couldn't last, and after just
- 19:26Speaker 4: a few weeks of the three living together, Kevin says
- 19:31Speaker 4: he had to end it.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Basically, I kicked her out when I had to let
- 19:36Speaker 5: Bridge to go because I realized a big picture and
- 19:39Speaker 5: I was my family.
- 19:40Speaker 4: But what about those rumors that Bridget was carrying Kevin's child.
- 19:44Speaker 4: As it turns out, her autosy showed that she was
- 19:48Speaker 4: not pregnant. So what's the truth.
- 19:51Speaker 5: I'm still not even know where the Bridge was still
- 19:52Speaker 5: pregnant or not, but I'm pretty sure she was. I'm
- 19:55Speaker 5: pretty sure it was.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that Bridget was carrying your child.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was. There's no denying with
- 20:02Speaker 5: that at all, I know for a fact.
- 20:04Speaker 4: And what was your discussion with Bridget about this child
- 20:07Speaker 4: on the way?
- 20:08Speaker 5: It was through text message and I was at the
- 20:10Speaker 5: mother of my child, and I had to uh, basically
- 20:15Speaker 5: like tell Bridget like I don't believe you, Like I
- 20:17Speaker 5: had to play it off cause I was trying to
- 20:18Speaker 5: be a family man and I don't wanna lose my
- 20:20Speaker 5: son because when we can get crazy with these type
- 20:22Speaker 5: of things.
- 20:23Speaker 4: The rumor after that is that Bridget ended the pregnancy,
- 20:27Speaker 4: but it was a rumor she would never be able
- 20:30Speaker 4: to substantiate. According to Kevin, just thirty days after he
- 20:34Speaker 4: quote kicked her out, she was dead.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Un wish I was there, man, Like I woulda took
- 20:39Speaker 5: them bulls for so this, all this situations so crazy,
- 20:47Speaker 5: and this is what jamaic man, That's why it took
- 20:50Speaker 5: me so long to come here and answer. Responded back
- 20:52Speaker 5: to you guys, cause I'm like, what do I have
- 20:55Speaker 5: to say to you guys, Like I don't I don't
- 20:57Speaker 5: have anything that you don't already know.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Like are those real tears?
- 21:05Speaker 5: Yeah, man, I can't fake crap. That can have never
- 21:10Speaker 5: been one thing.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Good to know because I still had some very tough
- 21:15Speaker 4: questions to ask coming up. Did you, Kevin, have anything
- 21:22Speaker 4: to do with the murder of Bridget Shield? I turn
- 21:25Speaker 4: up the pressure and you said, what did you mean
- 21:28Speaker 4: by that? Things turned tense. I'm right now on my
- 21:31Speaker 4: radar is up.
- 21:32Speaker 5: I'm actually I'm real. I'm not even thinking you'd easily
- 21:36Speaker 5: right now.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Now to the conclusion of our investigation into the murder
- 21:43Speaker 1: of Bridget Shield, police say it appear as Bridget was
- 21:45Speaker 1: running away from her killer when she was gunned down
- 21:48Speaker 1: in a park near Atlanta, and I Prime watched daily
- 21:50Speaker 1: exclusive our Jason Mattera talks to Bridget's boyfriend, who says
- 21:54Speaker 1: cops questioned him extensively after the murder.
- 21:57Speaker 4: The evidence shows she ran for her whole life. Nineteen
- 22:01Speaker 4: year old model Bridget Shield brought down by seven bullets,
- 22:06Speaker 4: her nude body left out in the park where it fell.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Yeah, she just ended up there. And I don't.
- 22:19Speaker 4: I just don't get how why.
- 22:22Speaker 5: I don't get what she could have done. I really don't.
- 22:26Speaker 5: I can't think of any reason, not even one.
- 22:29Speaker 4: But in the immediate aftermath, police had some ideas, and
- 22:33Speaker 4: by his own admission, Bridget's boyfriend Kevin Kenney, was considered
- 22:37Speaker 4: the quote number one suspect. Do the cops still consider
- 22:42Speaker 4: you their prime suspect?
- 22:44Speaker 5: Uh? They I don't. I highly doubt that. I highly
- 22:48Speaker 5: doubt that I'm the prime suspect now because when they
- 22:51Speaker 5: called me back the second time to the precinct and
- 22:54Speaker 5: they were like, everybody thinks she did it. I was, okay, Bro,
- 22:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna suit this whole entire situation, and you could
- 22:59Speaker 5: put up on Yeah, I'm very confident. Like, Bro, I
- 23:03Speaker 5: know some good lawyers, some of the top followers in
- 23:05Speaker 5: the US. Right now, Man, I wish you would go
- 23:07Speaker 5: to me, Bro, I would love to call them. I
- 23:10Speaker 5: would love to place his call about And they walked
- 23:12Speaker 5: out and they can't bags all you can leave.
- 23:15Speaker 4: So Kevin was never charged. But that's not exactly the
- 23:18Speaker 4: same as being cleared, which is what he told our
- 23:21Speaker 4: producers before the interview. Do you think you're still a
- 23:24Speaker 4: suspect with the cops? Have they Have they told you
- 23:27Speaker 4: they've ruled you out.
- 23:29Speaker 5: No, But it doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother me
- 23:32Speaker 5: at all. It doesn't bother me. I don't even think
- 23:34Speaker 5: twice about it. I don't even think twice about being
- 23:36Speaker 5: a suspect.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Though we have reached out, Atlanta Police declined to comment
- 23:40Speaker 4: on the ongoing investigation. So for now, we'll just have
- 23:44Speaker 4: to take Kevin at face value. But what about some
- 23:47Speaker 4: of the things other people have told us about him?
- 23:51Speaker 9: There were claims that he was perhaps part of an
- 23:57Speaker 9: underground organization.
- 23:59Speaker 4: A gang, A gang now, you know. But there's a
- 24:02Speaker 4: lot of speculation surrounding Bridget's murder. So I wanna give
- 24:07Speaker 4: you the opportunity to respond to some of these, uh uh,
- 24:12Speaker 4: these alg allegations. Some of these rumors be fair to you, Kay,
- 24:16Speaker 4: You're gonna be straight with me, m Okay. Do you
- 24:19Speaker 4: have an affiliation with the gangster disciples?
- 24:21Speaker 5: No?
- 24:22Speaker 4: Have you heard that rumor?
- 24:25Speaker 5: I actually don't even know anything about gangs at all.
- 24:29Speaker 5: I don't even know where that would even come from. Uh, yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 5: I don't. That is a really disturbing question. I don't.
- 24:38Speaker 4: You've never had a gang affiliation, never been part of.
- 24:40Speaker 5: A gang, no affiliation, wait genies, No, not at all.
- 24:47Speaker 5: I can I haven't even ran excuse me, haven't even
- 24:52Speaker 5: ran any anything anybody else, any gang in a in
- 24:54Speaker 5: a while. I haven't even I don't even feel it
- 24:56Speaker 5: with myself with people like that is a lie. Yeah, definitely,
- 25:00Speaker 5: that's a a hundred percent that's a hundred percent live.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Only thing I know about gangs is what I've seen
- 25:03Speaker 5: off the History channel.
- 25:05Speaker 4: But Kevin doesn't deny having served time in jail, saying
- 25:08Speaker 4: his offenses were all non violent. Certainly an important distinction
- 25:13Speaker 4: considering what we're here to talk about.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Let me ask you this.
- 25:17Speaker 4: We gotta be very clear now, okay, this is on
- 25:19Speaker 4: the record. Did you, Kevin, have anything to do with
- 25:25Speaker 4: the murder of Bridget Shield.
- 25:27Speaker 5: No, not at all. I woke up to finding out
- 25:31Speaker 5: that she got killed. I got the call and I
- 25:34Speaker 5: just book volunteers. I didn't know what to do. I
- 25:39Speaker 5: it was most crazy, the craziest out of know where,
- 25:44Speaker 5: unexpected thing that ever happened in my life. Because no
- 25:48Speaker 5: matter what is this heartbreaking? I mean, man, cause that
- 25:52Speaker 5: was the woman that I probably would have been married to.
- 25:54Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, yeah, Bridget were alive today, you saying you'd.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Be with her?
- 26:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I want to marry man. I go have a
- 26:02Speaker 5: ring on everything right now, bro, like a very expensive
- 26:05Speaker 5: ring on her finger right now.
- 26:07Speaker 4: But that answered just brought up another question. What is
- 26:10Speaker 4: the mother of your child gonna think after she sees
- 26:13Speaker 4: this interview?
- 26:17Speaker 5: This is nothing new to her, Nothing that I'm saying
- 26:19Speaker 5: isn't new.
- 26:20Speaker 4: So she knows that the Bridget were alive, you and
- 26:23Speaker 4: her would have split up on now.
- 26:25Speaker 5: M yeah.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Kevin Reportedly, Bridget was afraid for her life prior to
- 26:31Speaker 4: her death. Who was she afraid of?
- 26:36Speaker 5: Oh? To be home at issue? I like? And also, uh,
- 26:41Speaker 5: I don't know what she was afraid of. Uh. I
- 26:44Speaker 5: think she was afraid of life if you ask me.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Bridget's friends say that she wasn't just afraid of life,
- 26:50Speaker 4: but she was scared because of somebody else. She was scared.
- 26:54Speaker 4: She was afraid that someone was gonna harm her, and
- 26:55Speaker 4: someone obviously did harm her. Was there a person she
- 26:59Speaker 4: was scared of?
- 27:06Speaker 5: Not, to my knowledge, I can't think of anybody that
- 27:11Speaker 5: she was afraid of Uh, Bridget was brave?
- 27:15Speaker 4: Was she afraid of you and me?
- 27:17Speaker 5: No, she had no reason to be afraid of me.
- 27:18Speaker 5: Her and mother and my child got physical, not me.
- 27:21Speaker 4: So then who did he think did it?
- 27:23Speaker 5: Joh?
- 27:23Speaker 4: Why would she be naked with seven gunshot wounds in
- 27:27Speaker 4: her back? What would put her in that position?
- 27:31Speaker 5: Turning a guy down? Probably turning a guy down. That's
- 27:35Speaker 5: when my assumptions down.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Your theory you're speculating right now, is that Bridget rejected
- 27:39Speaker 4: the advances of some guy or some guys and that's
- 27:42Speaker 4: why she turned her dead.
- 27:44Speaker 5: She has a mouth on her. Ridgel has a mouth
- 27:46Speaker 5: on her like, she has a really aggressive mouth on her.
- 27:49Speaker 5: Like she could be really Uh, she can, she can
- 27:52Speaker 5: be really intimidated. Man, Bridget can talk a lot.
- 27:54Speaker 4: But what was she doing with two guys at that
- 27:55Speaker 4: gas station? Do you know who these guys are?
- 27:57Speaker 5: No? Uh, I would like to know. I feel like
- 28:01Speaker 5: it was a set up, killer like it wasn't like
- 28:03Speaker 5: I think somebody.
- 28:04Speaker 4: But why why did Bridget know something?
- 28:07Speaker 5: We got the same questions, man, Why.
- 28:12Speaker 4: A question still unanswered though there is no shortage of theories.
- 28:18Speaker 8: You have the back pages. Add I mean, it could
- 28:20Speaker 8: have been someone she met that night through back pages.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Some of the reports have her family quoted as saying
- 28:27Speaker 4: Bridget was trying to now escape underground sex work and
- 28:32Speaker 4: she wanted to go back to where she grew up.
- 28:36Speaker 2: And I could see that being reasonable.
- 28:37Speaker 8: Anytime you're in that life, there's someone that you're paying
- 28:42Speaker 8: in the sex trade industry, and maybe that person she
- 28:46Speaker 8: was paying found out about this and said that's not
- 28:48Speaker 8: gonna happen.
- 28:49Speaker 2: And I'm going to use you as an.
- 28:51Speaker 4: Example for Bridget may have been an example.
- 28:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Absolutely, Kevin says he's not sure about anything like that,
- 28:58Speaker 4: since they were no longer we were together at the
- 29:01Speaker 4: time of her death. Now you appeared her really care
- 29:04Speaker 4: for Bridget and and have feelings for her distraught over
- 29:08Speaker 4: her death.
- 29:09Speaker 5: I don't know, man, this I'm just happy to clear
- 29:14Speaker 5: my name. Man. That's sly. Wouldn't think it's the best
- 29:17Speaker 5: situation about this is just clear my name, man.
- 29:21Speaker 4: And you think you've cleared your name.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I've obviously cleared my name. Uh uh,
- 29:28Speaker 5: my name is not my name is clear. I'm very
- 29:31Speaker 5: confident about that.
- 29:32Speaker 4: And that was how our interview ended. But not long
- 29:36Speaker 4: after that just as we were wrapping up under your
- 29:38Speaker 4: breath when we were doing the bureau footage, were outside,
- 29:42Speaker 4: we were doing a little walking talk. When we were done,
- 29:44Speaker 4: you were walking away and our audio guy heard you
- 29:47Speaker 4: say it's under your breath, but you were still micd.
- 29:54Speaker 5: So what was what was what?
- 29:56Speaker 4: I wanna know?
- 29:58Speaker 5: I don't know cause him.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Bro, but you but you didn't you said that?
- 30:03Speaker 5: So what what?
- 30:04Speaker 4: What were you referring to? What was was your were
- 30:08Speaker 4: your responses in the interview the interviewers.
- 30:12Speaker 5: Could it have been like me getting a coffee or something.
- 30:14Speaker 4: I don't know who says I mean, who who says
- 30:17Speaker 4: over coffee it is cold? This is what the coffee
- 30:21Speaker 4: being cold? See right now, right down my right down
- 30:23Speaker 4: my radars are.
- 30:25Speaker 5: I'm actually I'm rough. I'm not even taking you seasily
- 30:28Speaker 5: right now, I'm so serious, I'm not even taking you seasy.
- 30:31Speaker 5: I really want to know. I want to hear myself
- 30:33Speaker 5: say this is one of my bread I want to
- 30:34Speaker 5: hear that. I would love to hear this, bro, all right,
- 30:37Speaker 5: so please let me know. This is great.
- 30:40Speaker 4: As it turns out, that moment wasn't recorded, so it
- 30:44Speaker 4: was his word against hours and for Kevin's part. So
- 30:48Speaker 4: you look right intoe that camera and say I told
- 30:50Speaker 4: the truth.
- 30:51Speaker 5: I said one hundred percent truth, the one hundred percent truth. Man.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Well we'll look in at that, all right, we said it. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 4: Like I said, we always give the opportunity to respond.
- 31:00Speaker 4: It's one thing we never run with conjecture. To be
- 31:04Speaker 4: completely fair, Kevin answered all of our questions and maintains
- 31:08Speaker 4: that he has nothing to do with the murder of
- 31:11Speaker 4: Bridget Shield. In fact, the only person publicly saying he
- 31:15Speaker 4: was ever a suspect is him. For now, investigators believe
- 31:20Speaker 4: the key to solving the case lines with identifying those
- 31:24Speaker 4: two men last scene with Bridget at the gas station.
- 31:28Speaker 4: It's been eight months now. Police haven't even named the suspect,
- 31:34Speaker 4: let alone made an arrest.
- 31:38Speaker 9: I think it's all going to come out, though, because
- 31:40Speaker 9: someone does know something. It's just a matter of them
- 31:43Speaker 9: getting to that point where they're protected and they could
- 31:47Speaker 9: say what they know.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Oh.
- 31:50Speaker 7: I miss her every day. I think of her every day.
- 31:54Speaker 7: I just wish she was still here. I think she
- 31:58Speaker 7: had a lot of growing up to do, and I
- 32:00Speaker 7: wish she'd been given the chance to grow up. I
- 32:04Speaker 7: we'll miss her forever.
- 32:07Speaker 1: If you have information on what happened to bridget Shield,
- 32:10Speaker 1: you can call crime stoppers anonymously at four zero four
- 32:14Speaker 1: five seven seven tips. You can also submit a tip
- 32:17Speaker 1: anonymously at Crimewatchdaily dot com. Coming up, a love triangle
- 32:24Speaker 1: leaves one man dead and the other behind bars, but
- 32:27Speaker 1: a shocking new confession as police focusing on the woman
- 32:30Speaker 1: who is caught in the middle.
- 32:32Speaker 6: That's what we have to keep thankful for. She's behind mars.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Johnathan he told the truth and prayers have been answered.
- 32:41Speaker 1: That's next. All right, now, let's get to today's crime
- 32:46Speaker 1: Watch Daily investigation. It all starts with a man shot
- 32:49Speaker 1: to death and what looked like a robbery gone bad,
- 32:52Speaker 1: but instead, detectives soon uncovered that victim was part of
- 32:55Speaker 1: a deadly loved triangle.
- 32:57Speaker 10: Here's Padlalaana, a smoke and hot married soccer mom. He
- 33:04Speaker 10: a young California firefighter ten years her junior. They engage
- 33:09Speaker 10: in a burning, illicit love affair that police say leads
- 33:15Speaker 10: to cold blood and murder.
- 33:17Speaker 11: What is your plead?
- 33:19Speaker 10: When we first told you about twenty six year old
- 33:22Speaker 10: Jonathan Hearn, he had just been charged with gunning down
- 33:25Speaker 10: the husband of his blonde bombshell girlfriend Sabrina Lemone now
- 33:31Speaker 10: Crime Watch Daily with stunning developments in the salacious love
- 33:35Speaker 10: triangle sorted brand new details straight from police investigators that
- 33:41Speaker 10: turn up some scorching heat on Sobrina.
- 33:45Speaker 2: There is some new evidence that has recently come to
- 33:48Speaker 2: the attention of the authorities.
- 33:51Speaker 4: It has to do with a prior attempt on Robert
- 33:53Speaker 4: Lamone's life.
- 33:54Speaker 10: That prior murder attempt, according to detectives, let's just call
- 33:59Speaker 10: it poisoning evidence strong enough to potentially put this mother
- 34:03Speaker 10: of two young children behind bars for life.
- 34:06Speaker 11: Jonathan Hearn and Sabrina decided that putting arsenic in that
- 34:10Speaker 11: banana putting would be the best way to take Robert out.
- 34:14Speaker 4: This is the picture taken last night before my brother
- 34:17Speaker 4: was murdered.
- 34:18Speaker 10: For over two years, the family of Robert Lemone has
- 34:21Speaker 10: traveled a journey of torment and a search for the truth.
- 34:24Speaker 8: Nobody seemed to give us the answers to those questions
- 34:28Speaker 8: so that we could heal.
- 34:31Speaker 10: Lydia Morrero's brother, Robert Lemone, mysteriously shot point blank at
- 34:36Speaker 10: the railroad company where he worked into Hatchapee, California. Robert
- 34:40Speaker 10: Lydia told Crime Watch Daily then didn't have an enemy.
- 34:45Speaker 7: Robert was a wonderful father, a great friend, always there
- 34:49Speaker 7: to lend a Hanne loved the community.
- 34:53Speaker 10: Cops were stomped until a tip led them to this man,
- 34:57Speaker 10: first responder Jonathan Hearn, who had been seen by neighbors
- 35:00Speaker 10: paying regular visits to Sabrina. Then investigators found thousands of
- 35:05Speaker 10: text messages revealing a torrid love affair between the two,
- 35:10Speaker 10: even talk of marriage. This police report stating Herne told
- 35:15Speaker 10: Sabrina that if Robert was out of the picture that
- 35:19Speaker 10: they could live their lives together. But it's this surveillance
- 35:23Speaker 10: tape identifying Herne leaving the scene of the murder that
- 35:27Speaker 10: put a lock on the case against the young fireman.
- 35:30Speaker 10: Hern was arrested and charged. Sabrina was also arrested in
- 35:34Speaker 10: connection with the murder, but was quickly cut loose for
- 35:38Speaker 10: lack of evidence. She packed up the kids and moved
- 35:41Speaker 10: one hundred miles away and reportedly cut off all ties
- 35:45Speaker 10: with her deceased husband's family, not even allowing them to
- 35:49Speaker 10: see her children.
- 35:50Speaker 4: I'm convinced that she played a part in all.
- 35:52Speaker 10: This, so we're investigators, but they needed proof directly tying
- 35:57Speaker 10: Sabrina to the deadly plot. Then, on the eve of
- 36:01Speaker 10: his murder trial, Jonathan Hearn turned from hopeless romantic to rat.
- 36:07Speaker 10: Deciding perhaps it was better to have loved and lost
- 36:09Speaker 10: Sabrina than to sit in prison for life, he cut
- 36:13Speaker 10: a plea deal and laid out two investigators an incriminating
- 36:16Speaker 10: case against his one time love. Hearn, claiming Sabrina was
- 36:21Speaker 10: part of the plot all along. Ken Masenchi from our
- 36:25Speaker 10: Baker's Field affiliate Ker has read the police reports detailing
- 36:30Speaker 10: the plot and the plea.
- 36:31Speaker 11: Hearn told investigators that it first started as a joke
- 36:35Speaker 11: to kill Robert Lamone. As it became more, as Hearn says, dark,
- 36:38Speaker 11: and eroded discussions. They started talking about ways to take
- 36:41Speaker 11: Robert out, and car accident and fire were two of
- 36:44Speaker 11: those different things that were discussed, but they ultimately decided
- 36:47Speaker 11: on poison. Sabrina had decided banana pudding and Nila wafers
- 36:52Speaker 11: was Robert's favorite dish.
- 36:54Speaker 10: According to investigators, Jonathan did an Internet search to purchase arsenic.
- 37:00Speaker 11: He found a place that didn't need a background check,
- 37:02Speaker 11: used a fake name and a prepaid credit card so
- 37:04Speaker 11: it couldn't be traced.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Back to him.
- 37:06Speaker 10: Police. Hern wanted to make sure the dosage used in
- 37:09Speaker 10: the pudding was enough to kill Robert. He experimented by
- 37:13Speaker 10: reportedly feeding the poison to a neighbor's noisy dog.
- 37:18Speaker 11: A couple days after giving the dog the arsenic, he
- 37:21Speaker 11: didn't hear from it anymore, and he just assumed that
- 37:24Speaker 11: the arsenic was the reason that the dog probably had
- 37:26Speaker 11: passed away.
- 37:28Speaker 10: Sabrina allegedly whipped up the poison laced batch of banana
- 37:32Speaker 10: pudding with nilla wafers. Robert took it with him to
- 37:35Speaker 10: work the next day, but at the last minute, Sabrina
- 37:39Speaker 10: got scared and abandoned the plan.
- 37:41Speaker 11: Sabrina had called him saying if there was arsenic found
- 37:45Speaker 11: in Robert's blood that they believed that a criminal investigation
- 37:49Speaker 11: would begin. She had just told Robert to throw it out,
- 37:51Speaker 11: that there was an issue in how the banana pudding
- 37:54Speaker 11: was made.
- 37:54Speaker 2: It just didn't taste right.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Told him just get rid.
- 37:56Speaker 10: Of it with the poison putting plan aboard it. Jonathan,
- 38:01Speaker 10: according to Copps, asked Sabrina one simple question.
- 38:05Speaker 11: He had talked with Sabrina about divorce and said, why
- 38:07Speaker 11: don't you just go get a divorce that we can
- 38:10Speaker 11: be together. She said, divorce was not an option, that
- 38:12Speaker 11: she didn't want to deal with child custody.
- 38:14Speaker 10: Issues, and that say detectives left only one surefire away
- 38:18Speaker 10: to get the job done. Hearn would shoot the unsuspecting
- 38:23Speaker 10: railroad worker and father of two twice in the head.
- 38:28Speaker 10: This police before showing Sabrina had told Hern where Robert
- 38:32Speaker 10: would be working and his hours the day of the murder.
- 38:36Speaker 7: What is your pleaded?
- 38:38Speaker 10: With Hearn's plea deal comes the re arrest of Sabrina Lemone,
- 38:43Speaker 10: who now faces multiple charges which include murder, conspire to
- 38:48Speaker 10: commit a murder, and solicit to commit murder.
- 38:51Speaker 11: He will testify against Sabrina when her court hearings bring
- 38:56Speaker 11: it to the jury trial stage, and what he played
- 38:59Speaker 11: for is twenty five years and four months in prison
- 39:03Speaker 11: in exchange for that testimony against Sabrina.
- 39:06Speaker 10: Sabrina has pled not guilty and is being held with albail.
- 39:11Speaker 10: But for the anguished family of Robert Lemonne, that journey
- 39:14Speaker 10: of torment has moved ever so slightly toward hope for healing.
- 39:20Speaker 6: That's what we have to be thankful for. She's behind
- 39:23Speaker 6: Mars Jonathan. He told the truth and prayers have been answered.
