- 0:00Speaker 1: First of all, are y'all watching you?
- 0:01Speaker 2: And I? Five?
- 0:01Speaker 3: Is The Erica Show, Amber ENTRMP My Carolina CBA seventeen
- 0:04Speaker 3: weekdays at nine, American idol.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Oh, y'all can't talk about that? Never mind?
- 0:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that's a hard part because I'm like
- 0:17Speaker 3: the neutral girl.
- 0:17Speaker 4: I have to Yeah. Yeah.
- 0:21Speaker 1: So Travis Kelsey is a tease.
- 0:23Speaker 3: He's doing a press conference and they're like, so, are
- 0:25Speaker 3: you proposing to Taylor?
- 0:27Speaker 1: And he was like, wouldn't you like to know?
- 0:28Speaker 3: And so my instant thought was like, well, that's a
- 0:30Speaker 3: definite no, he's not going to do it.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Also, are they already married? That's all? Do you think
- 0:36Speaker 1: telling us? Why didn't they text us?
- 0:44Speaker 5: I hope they're happy and in love, but I still
- 0:47Speaker 5: hope for Taylor's sake, they don't do it at the
- 0:50Speaker 5: dang Super Bowl.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I really don't think.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Especially when he said wouldn't you like to know? I
- 0:54Speaker 3: think that confirmed it's an absolute no. He would not
- 0:57Speaker 3: do that.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Okay, I don't think.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Doesn't it away like all the attention from like maybe
- 1:02Speaker 5: all the players that are actually in the Super Bowl selfish.
- 1:05Speaker 4: It's their moment.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Players are like, oh, Taylor's gonna be right.
- 1:09Speaker 6: They're like, okay, Buffalo, why couldn't you win?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Okay, So some of the legal you know, legalized betting
- 1:14Speaker 3: is a thing, especially now in North Carolina. So some
- 1:16Speaker 3: other bets. How many times will they show Taylor during
- 1:19Speaker 3: the game?
- 1:20Speaker 4: I will at the top of your head, maybe six six? Okay,
- 1:23Speaker 4: it wasn't that many at the big Game last time?
- 1:25Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:25Speaker 6: Weren't they late last year? Wasn't there something I don't remember?
- 1:28Speaker 6: She was there with a bunch of friends I remember, yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Some ailist friends and his mom. Of course, I just.
- 1:34Speaker 6: Remember her looking really having the ick.
- 1:38Speaker 5: When he went on and started, She's probably like, do
- 1:41Speaker 5: not take that, dang, mic, Mike is not yours.
- 1:45Speaker 4: But now she'll end the night with the ring.
- 1:47Speaker 1: He was new to the whole mass. No, he's publicity.
- 1:50Speaker 1: He had a freaking.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Reality show, a little dating show, you know.
- 1:53Speaker 3: But now since Taylor, I think he's been more groomed on,
- 1:56Speaker 3: like or trained on.
- 1:57Speaker 4: How to groomed is the word, because he I think
- 2:00Speaker 4: he looks good.
- 2:01Speaker 6: Does he not runs that relationship.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And the bowl cut looking stuff?
- 2:07Speaker 6: Almost like you said the bulge.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I didn't look this bulge. But I don't have to
- 2:11Speaker 1: take a glance at that too.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I mean the Brothers does America, Okay, that's such a sweetie.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Or Taylor. I think they're gonna show Taylor more if
- 2:23Speaker 1: this is one of the major pulls.
- 2:26Speaker 4: You know, I like, I love Jason's wife as well.
- 2:28Speaker 4: When I see her, I'm like, she's so salty the
- 2:30Speaker 4: arts good mom.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I love Jason though I do love him a lot.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Will Taylor jump on stage during Kendrick Lamar's halftime show
- 2:39Speaker 3: you need.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Get pushed down right, Like, I don't know if that
- 2:42Speaker 5: would be a good move on her part.
- 2:43Speaker 4: She wouldn't do that. She wouldn't do that. She's a
- 2:45Speaker 4: supporter of I think.
- 2:46Speaker 1: She's a support artist.
- 2:48Speaker 3: But she was definitely saying during the Grammys, like when
- 2:50Speaker 3: Kendrick Lamar won not Like Us.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Which is a dish track against Drake, there's a lot
- 2:54Speaker 1: of drama there.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Yes, Trent didn't know about it, didn't the disc But
- 2:59Speaker 5: that's okay.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You now know I'm a pedophile.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I get that.
- 3:03Speaker 6: I mean it was a big thing.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah, And there's lawsuits involved because he's like, you're defaming
- 3:06Speaker 3: my my career, my character, and it's the same label.
- 3:09Speaker 3: They have the same label, so it's like they he's
- 3:11Speaker 3: mad that his label took Kendrick Lamar and mass produced
- 3:15Speaker 3: it and made spend a lot of money to produce
- 3:17Speaker 3: this or promote this.
- 3:19Speaker 1: He's winning, but it's in the name of Drake.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Also, this all went down last year during Dreamville and
- 3:25Speaker 5: you have take Hold.
- 3:26Speaker 6: There's a whole thing you have.
- 3:27Speaker 5: You have two girls that really probably don't know all
- 3:29Speaker 5: the ins and outs of it, but we can get
- 3:31Speaker 5: you the research.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Can I just ask you?
- 3:33Speaker 5: Do you think that the artists know when the camera's
- 3:36Speaker 5: on their face and they start to lip sync the
- 3:38Speaker 5: songs way more than they normally would.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I've never been to the wards, so like I'm like
- 3:43Speaker 3: the awardial girl, and I end up sitting like sometimes
- 3:45Speaker 3: in the front and it shouldn't be, but I'm there,
- 3:47Speaker 3: and the cameras will be like right there on the
- 3:50Speaker 3: floor in your face, and so they know which they
- 3:52Speaker 3: have multiple cameras set up, and so maybe the camera
- 3:55Speaker 3: is not at that time filming, but they are trained
- 3:58Speaker 3: to be like, oh, I'm really smiling the whole time
- 4:01Speaker 3: she does do word.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's the awkward Musgraves didn't know that camera was.
- 4:08Speaker 2: When the country when she lost to Clean Bay and
- 4:12Speaker 2: I'm a big Casey fan as well.
- 4:13Speaker 6: You know that was her real reaction. I'd rather than.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That I should not have won.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Country's so awkward to take freaking shots of people when
- 4:24Speaker 5: they're losing.
- 4:25Speaker 3: It's so like, well they all know, the cameras go
- 4:29Speaker 3: in the shot. Taylor, Yes, I lost that smile and
- 4:33Speaker 3: I'm so happy.
- 4:34Speaker 6: But you know what, they're all getting paid, so.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. Yeah, the streaming numbers and all of that.
- 4:38Speaker 1: That's what matters.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Okay, our girls cheerleader though anything else since the Grammies,
- 4:42Speaker 2: by the way, No, and right before.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Okay, so what was your favorite moment?
- 4:45Speaker 4: Oh my god, it's so good.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Pink Pony Club was an incredible performance.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Her speech was really good.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Eye open her for record labels the industry to treat
- 4:56Speaker 3: them like you give everything and then in return you're
- 5:00Speaker 3: not getting what you need.
- 5:02Speaker 6: Industry in general, I think across the word.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah, And I didn't realize she was signed as a
- 5:07Speaker 2: young woman and now years later she's made it big
- 5:10Speaker 2: this past year and she's like, listen, this is what
- 5:12Speaker 2: I experience back then when I was on that label.
- 5:15Speaker 4: We need healthcare.
- 5:16Speaker 6: I didn't even this is true. Confession.
- 5:19Speaker 5: I had never even seen her perform before, but I
- 5:20Speaker 5: thought she did a great job.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I loved the tribute to Quincy Jones.
- 5:25Speaker 5: I was fortunate in my younger days to spend some
- 5:29Speaker 5: time with him, and everything they were saying about him
- 5:32Speaker 5: is so true. And he was just one of the
- 5:35Speaker 5: most dynamic powerhouses of a personality and always turned around.
- 5:40Speaker 5: If you ever see any picture of you, he always
- 5:42Speaker 5: is pointing to the other person and I always he
- 5:45Speaker 5: would do that. He'd always was the one I don't
- 5:47Speaker 5: like to take pictures, and he would be.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Like, let's take pictures.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Let's take pictures everybody, and would always point to them.
- 5:52Speaker 6: And so to be able to have such powerhouse.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Performers honoring him that that was a moment.
- 5:59Speaker 4: What a tribute.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Next year, we need to get some of these parties.
- 6:01Speaker 3: So there's some artists that are here from Raleigh that
- 6:03Speaker 3: have blown up and they are now like that. I
- 6:05Speaker 3: think there was a mom emailed me this morning her
- 6:07Speaker 3: son won a Grammy. I think it was the pre
- 6:10Speaker 3: ceremony and she was like, Hey, I just want to
- 6:13Speaker 3: shout him out. I can't pronounce his name, but.
- 6:14Speaker 4: You gotta get him on the show.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I mean Sam Pounds, who worked with all of the
- 6:18Speaker 3: major artists.
- 6:20Speaker 6: We do we need I mean, hello, it's on CBS.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Think more about this.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, we should be at these parties because I see.
- 6:25Speaker 3: All the local people don't go hey, hey, hey hey,
- 6:28Speaker 3: we should have been at that too.
- 6:29Speaker 4: We know, we know, we know you were reporting virtually
- 6:35Speaker 4: that you looked gorgeous in that gown. Can we just say, oh, yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 4: thank you?
- 6:38Speaker 3: So yeah, I was doing the virtual reporting, which was
- 6:40Speaker 3: very interesting. It's the first time ever doing virtual because
- 6:43Speaker 3: normally I would be there.
- 6:44Speaker 4: How did that work and what and what was your favorite?
- 6:47Speaker 3: Well, we also had our iHeart Christmas party that was
- 6:50Speaker 3: delayed and so the same time, so I had to
- 6:52Speaker 3: leave in the middle.
- 6:54Speaker 1: No, it was an actual party.
- 6:56Speaker 3: So I had to leave in the middle of doing
- 6:58Speaker 3: a virtual red carpet interviews to going to our iHeart
- 7:02Speaker 3: party and then I came back in the red carpet
- 7:04Speaker 3: by that point had closed. Okay, so then you go
- 7:06Speaker 3: to like the media room. But I would rather watch
- 7:08Speaker 3: it on my TV. You know, you see the same thing, but.
- 7:10Speaker 4: You did what had zoo to double D.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But when I was doing some of the stuff, it's
- 7:14Speaker 3: like you interview and they the artists come up and
- 7:17Speaker 3: they see these cubes of people and there was people
- 7:19Speaker 3: from Italy, Canada all over with me and we're in
- 7:22Speaker 3: these little cue boxes and you get to your face
- 7:26Speaker 3: blows up for the artists that stand in there and
- 7:28Speaker 3: they see you on the screen and you asked them
- 7:29Speaker 3: a question.
- 7:30Speaker 4: It was wild interview.
- 7:32Speaker 3: One of the producers from Beyonce's name, I can't remember
- 7:34Speaker 3: his name, and I hate that, but there are a
- 7:36Speaker 3: lot of people that came through that were producers for
- 7:38Speaker 3: Beyonce's album talking about how she really doesn't set the
- 7:42Speaker 3: tone for right now, she sets the tone for the
- 7:44Speaker 3: future and what artists like strive to work towards the future.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Like they were really big on that got the inside
- 7:50Speaker 3: scoop on her tour before it was announced, like the
- 7:52Speaker 3: day you know, she announced it before the Grammys, but
- 7:54Speaker 3: during that time she had not announced it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it was pre pre obviously she's gonna be in
- 7:59Speaker 1: twenty two week shows and yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 6: She's incredible. That's and you can't take that away from her.
- 8:04Speaker 5: In order to get to what she has gotten to
- 8:07Speaker 5: and what she does, she has a work ethic that
- 8:11Speaker 5: cannot be argued.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Well, that's what people are, Like she doesn't drink, she
- 8:14Speaker 3: doesn't do all that, Like she hustles, and she expects
- 8:17Speaker 3: the people around her to do the same. And she's
- 8:19Speaker 3: also got the same folks with her, like her publicist
- 8:23Speaker 3: has been with her through it all from the very
- 8:26Speaker 3: start of her going solo, and so she's got people
- 8:28Speaker 3: that really know and want to see her win around her.
- 8:31Speaker 5: Surround yourself important people, and yet it's the most important thing. Also,
- 8:34Speaker 5: I hate when we diminish the efforts and the talents
- 8:37Speaker 5: of other people because we think somebody else should have
- 8:40Speaker 5: been in another Why can't we just share it, like
- 8:41Speaker 5: there's enough that everybody's there for a reason.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And a personal level. I know this is obviously going
- 8:46Speaker 1: up on the podcast, y'all, so you'll.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Get to here full.
- 8:50Speaker 4: But speaking of.
- 8:50Speaker 3: That, I was just talking to Trevory yesterday about not
- 8:56Speaker 3: to single you out, Trent, or not to not include you,
- 8:58Speaker 3: but women not supporting women. So like there's a couple
- 9:01Speaker 3: women in my I'm a big cheerleader for other females, Like, hey, guys,
- 9:05Speaker 3: I want everybody to win because there's plenty of room for.
- 9:07Speaker 6: All of us and it opens the doors for more.
- 9:09Speaker 3: And like I like my girls squad to be successful
- 9:12Speaker 3: and guys squad because I'm like, we do open more
- 9:15Speaker 3: doors for each other. But there's a few women here
- 9:16Speaker 3: in the triangle and I want to reach out and
- 9:20Speaker 3: be like, you are blocking your own blessings by being
- 9:23Speaker 3: such a sea blocker. I let me ask you that
- 9:25Speaker 3: the most nice to it but not supporting other people
- 9:27Speaker 3: because you feel like you should have been in that space.
- 9:30Speaker 1: We all could be in that space exactly.
- 9:32Speaker 5: And just it's always like be the dumbest person in
- 9:36Speaker 5: the room, be in a room full.
- 9:37Speaker 6: You want to be around.
- 9:38Speaker 5: People that are successful or that are doing something that
- 9:42Speaker 5: you want to do or.
- 9:43Speaker 6: Share or give or just share. I mean good energy
- 9:46Speaker 6: in general breeds more good energy.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Why got your person down too?
- 9:51Speaker 3: So there's a couple must be nice Erica you want
- 9:54Speaker 3: this or that, And I was like, well it must
- 9:56Speaker 3: be nice. I come in at four am on a
- 9:57Speaker 3: Saturday Sunday too, Like.
- 9:58Speaker 4: You put them in the world.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It's you don't see me.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Here and how much I'm working or how I put
- 10:02Speaker 3: my kids dad to come to work exactly see that,
- 10:05Speaker 3: And I'm hustling and not worried about what you want.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I'm focused on my own thing, so like you can't
- 10:12Speaker 3: just just knock it.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You got to put in the work for stuff.
- 10:15Speaker 5: And also it's just kind of like that meme where
- 10:17Speaker 5: you see like the the avalanche like or avalanches No, no,
- 10:22Speaker 5: like the ice block underneath the water and you don't
- 10:24Speaker 5: know ice iceberd.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Yes, how deep it goes?
- 10:28Speaker 5: Somebody needs to go back to school when they were
- 10:30Speaker 5: drama Like, damn, do you know last week my car
- 10:32Speaker 5: broke down, I got a rental car and then I
- 10:34Speaker 5: had a bunch of.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Stuff happened, right, I didn't post that on social media?
- 10:37Speaker 1: You see a happy version of a and.
- 10:39Speaker 5: As a woman too, I think that if we speak
- 10:42Speaker 5: in a different tone than a man would, it's taken
- 10:45Speaker 5: in a completely different way. So I always kind of say, well,
- 10:49Speaker 5: if I was a man and said that, would you
- 10:50Speaker 5: talk to me like that? Or having to have the
- 10:52Speaker 5: arguments back and forth and having to always justify yourself,
- 10:55Speaker 5: Why are we still doing that?
- 10:57Speaker 4: Sorry?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Sorry, this is a.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Great conversation, damn.
- 11:02Speaker 6: World, And like, I love our team.
- 11:05Speaker 5: I'm one of the only women in our like yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 5: and it's it's interesting, especially for a lifestyle show which
- 11:10Speaker 5: is predominantly women watching, not that men and and then
- 11:15Speaker 5: the women are so so supportive, but I feel like
- 11:18Speaker 5: we still walk into rooms and are still kind of
- 11:21Speaker 5: squashed down a little bit, like here a little girl,
- 11:23Speaker 5: let me show you where you are, Like do you
- 11:26Speaker 5: know anything about my story? You know absolutely nothing, right,
- 11:30Speaker 5: and that's okay.
- 11:31Speaker 6: I don't have to justify.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I always love a challenge. I love to go into
- 11:34Speaker 1: the board room with all the guys.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I'm like, so yeah, at the table, because you deserve it.
- 11:40Speaker 5: And also like how many great women have helped lead
- 11:43Speaker 5: the way, and then such great influences I was even
- 11:46Speaker 5: as a child, like my mom is like the most loving.
- 11:49Speaker 5: There was never ever any competition or anything in my house.
- 11:52Speaker 6: And so once you.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Get out there and start to realize, you're like, oh,
- 11:55Speaker 5: there's that's Caddy and you don't even know what's happening.
- 11:58Speaker 6: And then once you start it's you know.
- 12:00Speaker 1: My feelings.
- 12:00Speaker 3: And it still does some but I have to remember,
- 12:03Speaker 3: like when you see that kind of energy from somebody,
- 12:07Speaker 3: you have to remember, like, it's not about you, it's
- 12:09Speaker 3: about their own struggles that they're dealing with, and so
- 12:11Speaker 3: you have to remember that.
- 12:12Speaker 1: But it still sucks.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Way I thought we were very well and I think
- 12:15Speaker 5: we just have a tendency as people to take things
- 12:17Speaker 5: personal and a lot of times something that's being said
- 12:19Speaker 5: or done has absolutely nothing to.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Do with us, right, absolutely nothing.
- 12:26Speaker 5: But you know what is that whole thing? Nobody's really
- 12:28Speaker 5: thinking about you. They're more concerned with themselves. And that's okay,
- 12:31Speaker 5: that's true.
- 12:31Speaker 3: So full circle moment. Yeah, say one album of the
- 12:34Speaker 3: year and country album of the year. Like Casey Musgrave's
- 12:37Speaker 3: face was like, E whatever, But that's not true feelings
- 12:41Speaker 3: and it is what it is. But I don't think
- 12:42Speaker 3: that Beyonce should have one country album. I'm sorry, I
- 12:45Speaker 3: just are.
- 12:45Speaker 4: You pleased with album?
- 12:46Speaker 6: Her album?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Huh?
- 12:47Speaker 4: Are you pleased with album of the year for her
- 12:48Speaker 4: first ever?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Whatever?
- 12:50Speaker 3: A lot of people said jay Z bought it for her,
- 12:51Speaker 3: and I don't think it even works like that.
- 12:53Speaker 1: You know, the record labels.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Thirteen thousand people, they said every award.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Well, that was a constant reminder, you.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Know they I don't know. I think Cowboy Carter was huge,
- 13:05Speaker 3: but I also loved you know, other artists. Andy Wilson
- 13:09Speaker 3: should have won as far as country goes, but it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Is the album of the year.
- 13:12Speaker 5: Sure, I haven't heard, you know, I've heard snippets from
- 13:15Speaker 5: each one, but never all the way through, so I
- 13:18Speaker 5: could never say like this.
- 13:19Speaker 6: I should win this win.
- 13:21Speaker 4: I was happy for her win with the duet with
- 13:23Speaker 4: Miley or my Girls.
- 13:24Speaker 3: So that was stuff coming out that was released on
- 13:28Speaker 3: the red carpet. Like one of the producers that said
- 13:30Speaker 3: that she was absolutely phenomenal to work with. They were like,
- 13:32Speaker 3: she's incredible.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And so Miley.
- 13:34Speaker 3: They were like, Miley doesn't get enough kudos, that she
- 13:36Speaker 3: should because and then they spilled the tea that she's got.
- 13:40Speaker 4: An artist artist.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I love the fairy goddaughter of dog.
- 13:42Speaker 5: I just also give a shout out because when Cardi
- 13:45Speaker 5: B walked out in her dress, I was.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Like, I loved it.
- 13:48Speaker 6: It was so extra and amazing.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Party is so extra. I loved it. Yeah, that's my
