- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Real Talk with Mike D. All right. Welcome
- 0:07Speaker 1: back to Real Talk with Mike D. I am Mike D.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Thank you for being here. Thank you for listening. And
- 0:13Speaker 1: as always, I appreciate you being here. Well, everybody, we
- 0:19Speaker 1: made it. And what do I mean by that? I mean,
- 0:23Speaker 1: it's Wednesday morning. And if you're listening to this right now, congratulations.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You survived Monday, you made it through Tuesday, and you're
- 0:32Speaker 1: officially headed downhill towards the weekend. Oh my God, welcome
- 0:38Speaker 1: back to another episode of Real Talk with Mike D.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And today, I just want to take a few minutes
- 0:43Speaker 1: to talk about something simple. Wednesday. You're asking yourself, why
- 0:49Speaker 1: would you want to talk about Wednesday? Because Wednesday doesn't
- 0:52Speaker 1: get enough credit. Monday gets all the hate, Tuesday is just,
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's just Tuesday. And Thursday gets everybody excited because we
- 1:01Speaker 1: can finally see Friday. Friday is everybody's best friend. Saturday
- 1:08Speaker 1: and Sunday speak for themselves. But Wednesday, Wednesday is sitting
- 1:12Speaker 1: right in the middle like, hey, what about me? But Wednesday,
- 1:17Speaker 1: today is your day. So good morning, everybody. Happy Wednesday.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You know, mornings can be different for all of us.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Some people wake up excited. Some people wake up exhausted,
- 1:32Speaker 1: myself included. And some people wake up and immediately reach
- 1:36Speaker 1: for their coffee, myself included as well. And some people
- 1:41Speaker 1: wake up and think, what the hell happened to the
- 1:44Speaker 1: alarm clock? Maybe you're getting ready for work. Maybe you're
- 1:49Speaker 1: already at work. Maybe you're sitting in your car. Maybe
- 1:52Speaker 1: you're drinking your coffee at the kitchen table. Maybe you're
- 1:56Speaker 1: listening while you're getting the kids ready for school. Whatever
- 2:00Speaker 1: you're doing right now, I want you to take a second,
- 2:03Speaker 1: take a breath, look around, and you're here. You made
- 2:09Speaker 1: it to another Wednesday. And sometimes that's enough to celebrate
- 2:13Speaker 1: because we get so caught up in everything we have
- 2:16Speaker 1: to do that we forget to appreciate the fact that
- 2:18Speaker 1: we're actually doing it. We're getting up. We're going to work.
- 2:23Speaker 1: We're taking care of our families. We're handling responsibilities. We're
- 2:28Speaker 1: dealing with problems. We're trying to keep our lives together.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And sometimes nobody notices how much we're carrying. But you
- 2:38Speaker 1: know what? You notice, and that's important. Wednesday is kind
- 2:43Speaker 1: of a reminder that you're halfway through the week. Maybe
- 2:46Speaker 1: your week hasn't gone exactly the way you wanted. Maybe
- 2:50Speaker 1: Monday kicked your ass. Maybe Tuesday wasn't much better. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: it wasn't. Maybe you've already had somebody get on your nerves.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Maybe you're dealing with financial problems. Maybe you're dealing with
- 3:03Speaker 1: family problems. Maybe you're lonely. Maybe you're tired. Maybe you're
- 3:07Speaker 1: just wondering when life is finally going to give you
- 3:10Speaker 1: a break. I get it. Life isn't always easy. And
- 3:14Speaker 1: that's something I talk about here on Real Talk with
- 3:17Speaker 1: Mike D because I'm not here to pretend everything is perfect.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm not here to tell you that every morning you're
- 3:22Speaker 1: going to wake up feeling amazing because that's not real life.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Real life is messy. Real life is frustrating. Real life
- 3:30Speaker 1: is sometimes painful. But real life also has good moments.
- 3:35Speaker 1: And sometimes you have to look for those moments. Maybe
- 3:41Speaker 1: your good moment today is that first sip of coffee.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Maybe it's hearing your favorite song on the radio. Maybe
- 3:48Speaker 1: it's getting a text from somebody you care about. Maybe
- 3:51Speaker 1: it's making somebody laugh. Maybe it's getting through your workday
- 3:54Speaker 1: without wanting to scream. Now that's a victory. Celebrate the
- 4:01Speaker 1: small victories. We don't always need some huge life-changing event
- 4:05Speaker 1: to be happy. Sometimes happiness is just sitting outside for
- 4:09Speaker 1: five minutes. Sometimes it's watching the sunrise. Sometimes it's listening
- 4:17Speaker 1: to music. Sometimes it's getting home after a long day
- 4:21Speaker 1: and taking your shoes off. And sometimes it's simply saying,
- 4:26Speaker 1: Thank God I made it through another day. So here's
- 4:31Speaker 1: what I want you to do today. Don't worry about
- 4:33Speaker 1: everything that's going to happen tomorrow. Don't worry about Friday yet.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Don't worry about next week. And don't spend all day
- 4:40Speaker 1: replaying yesterday. Just concentrate on today. It's Wednesday. You've got today.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And that's what matters. If something goes wrong, deal with it.
- 4:52Speaker 1: If somebody pisses you off, take a breath before you react.
- 4:57Speaker 1: If you're having a bad day, remember that a bad
- 4:59Speaker 1: morning doesn't automatically mean a bad day. You can turn
- 5:03Speaker 1: it around. And if you're having a great day, enjoy it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Don't wait for something to go wrong. Sometimes we spend
- 5:12Speaker 1: so much time worrying about the future that we forget
- 5:15Speaker 1: to enjoy the present. And I want to say something
- 5:21Speaker 1: else this morning. Be kind. Because you never really know
- 5:25Speaker 1: what someone else is going through. That person who didn't
- 5:29Speaker 1: smile at you, maybe they're having a terrible morning. That
- 5:33Speaker 1: co-worker who seems irritated, maybe they're dealing with something at home.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That person who seems distant, maybe they're struggling with something
- 5:43Speaker 1: you know absolutely nothing about. You don't have to fix
- 5:48Speaker 1: everybody's problems, but you can choose not to make them worse.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And a little kindness can go a long way. A
- 5:58Speaker 1: simple good morning, a simple how are you doing, a
- 6:02Speaker 1: simple smile, you never know. You might be the best
- 6:06Speaker 1: part of somebody's day. And while we're talking about Wednesday,
- 6:13Speaker 1: let's talk about something else. Don't give up. Maybe you're
- 6:19Speaker 1: working towards something right now. Maybe you're trying to get
- 6:21Speaker 1: your finances under control. Maybe you're trying to improve your health.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Maybe you're trying to repair a relationship. Maybe you're trying
- 6:29Speaker 1: to find a better job. Maybe you're trying to start over.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Maybe you're simply trying to get through life one day
- 6:35Speaker 1: at a time. Whatever it is, keep going. It doesn't
- 6:39Speaker 1: have to happen overnight. You don't have to have everything
- 6:41Speaker 1: figured out. You just have to keep moving. One day,
- 6:47Speaker 1: one decision, one step at a time. And sometimes that
- 6:51Speaker 1: step is tiny, and that's okay. Progress is still progress. progress.
- 6:59Speaker 1: All right. Well, that's going to do it for today's
- 7:01Speaker 1: episode of Real Talk with Mike D. I greatly appreciate
- 7:05Speaker 1: you being here. I greatly appreciate you listening. And as always,
- 7:11Speaker 1: keep it real and I will see you all on
- 7:15Speaker 1: the next episode. Peace. Thank you.
