Mica Mountain High School just got a smarter, safer intersection thanks to student and community pressure — now called a “flying tee,” it lets teens turn left or go straight without crossing oncoming traffic, cutting crash risks. After a student-led petition and rising safety concerns, county officials acted, installing new lanes and markings, and will educate students and parents before school restarts July 24.
