Latest / Eating While Broke / JANINA - Vegetables are Cheaper than Meat
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: In today we have the infamous Janina. Hey, what's up, guys.
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's your girl Janina here with Colleen Wit and we
- 0:11Speaker 1: are eating will broke and making habbage soup. I'm super
- 0:15Speaker 1: excited and I'm super hungry. So I didn't see any
- 0:18Speaker 1: meat and this many this ingredients or anything, but I'm
- 0:22Speaker 1: still hungry and I can't wait for you to feed me.
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's going to be great. So what ingredients did you bring?
- 0:27Speaker 1: So here I have celery, carrots, bell peppers, onions, lemons, parsley,
- 0:34Speaker 1: and cabbage. And then the vegetable broth. Wow, so this
- 0:38Speaker 1: far broke dish. This has a lot of moving parts,
- 0:41Speaker 1: which means it's gonna taste great. Oh yeah yeah. So
- 0:44Speaker 1: And and just so you guys know that are listening
- 0:46Speaker 1: and watching, Janina already started. She she has a little
- 0:50Speaker 1: secret helper that came in before and helped already prestart
- 0:55Speaker 1: the broth. So you guys won't be here too long
- 0:58Speaker 1: or we won't starve to death while we're talking and
- 1:01Speaker 1: catching up. But I'm must sit and watch you do
- 1:04Speaker 1: do your thing, and I may just shoot off some
- 1:06Speaker 1: questions just to find out more about you and your
- 1:09Speaker 1: background on this about perfect. Yeah, I think I'm gonna
- 1:13Speaker 1: go ahead and add somemart broth. It's already boiling vegetable
- 1:17Speaker 1: broth we have here. Yes, So is this because like
- 1:21Speaker 1: growing up you were like a vegetarian or something because
- 1:24Speaker 1: there's no meat in this. Um, well, it was a
- 1:27Speaker 1: healthy meal and it didn't like I know meat back then,
- 1:31Speaker 1: like it's more money and so the vegetables were just
- 1:34Speaker 1: less for us to go ahead and like, honestly, it's
- 1:37Speaker 1: fulfilling the cabbage and it was just very like easy
- 1:41Speaker 1: to make for me and my sister. You know, when
- 1:43Speaker 1: my mom was working so nice and I'm taking your
- 1:46Speaker 1: mom talked to you guys this meal she did. My
- 1:48Speaker 1: mom teaches us everything. I'm like, I literally get it
- 1:52Speaker 1: from my mama. That's good. I'm gonna go ahead and
- 1:55Speaker 1: add that. I'm learning to start. So I know you
- 2:01Speaker 1: don't cook a lot now, right, I do not. I
- 2:04Speaker 1: am a person that loves to eat out. Now. Back
- 2:08Speaker 1: then we were definitely in the house with peanut butter
- 2:10Speaker 1: jelly sandwiches from the noodles and um. But now I'm
- 2:14Speaker 1: just like all four restaurants. Yeah, now I'm going to
- 2:19Speaker 1: add the bell peppers because I also want that to
- 2:23Speaker 1: soak in with the other vegetables. We got green bell peppers,
- 2:30Speaker 1: red bell peppers, yellow. It looks like it's gonna be
- 2:32Speaker 1: a very colorful dish. Oh yeah, oh yeah. So how
- 2:37Speaker 1: long on average does this dish take? Because, um, I
- 2:41Speaker 1: would say about all together, the whole process is about
- 2:45Speaker 1: thirty minutes. It's not that long, all right, And it
- 2:48Speaker 1: smells good so far. So you started like real young.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I want to move this out of the way. Um,
- 2:55Speaker 1: you started real, real young because I know you from
- 2:58Speaker 1: working really really music thing, always doing tours, always performing. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and you were a killer. I mean, I'm sure the
- 3:09Speaker 1: boys would always have a heart attack when he showed
- 3:11Speaker 1: up to the school. It was a split, and it
- 3:13Speaker 1: was the split. The second she did a split, it
- 3:15Speaker 1: was like a rap. People were the nuts. It was
- 3:20Speaker 1: a show time the second she did a split. But um,
- 3:24Speaker 1: a lot of people, I feel like they don't know
- 3:27Speaker 1: that side of you. They don't know how long it
- 3:31Speaker 1: took before you're of the official Janina that everybody knows.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah they don't. Because I feel like something that I
- 3:40Speaker 1: kind of like messed up on was like not really
- 3:42Speaker 1: incorporating my music when I got into social media because
- 3:46Speaker 1: it was just all about videos. Like as soon as
- 3:48Speaker 1: everyone got together, it was like, oh, what's your idea?
- 3:51Speaker 1: And I kind of like put aside of music instead
- 3:54Speaker 1: of combined it. And now I look back and I'm like, oh,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I should have done that. But and anytime I would
- 4:01Speaker 1: like go in the studio and record a song, they
- 4:03Speaker 1: would be like, why are these viners trying to do music,
- 4:06Speaker 1: And it's like, You're like, oh, stay other way around.
- 4:09Speaker 1: These viners already did music. You just didn't know that world.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So it was it was hard to like intertwine both
- 4:17Speaker 1: worlds once I was already established as a social media gure. Yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: but I'm coming back. I am coming back. I'm going
- 4:28Speaker 1: to get in the studio and start recording again because
- 4:32Speaker 1: I feel like I do have such a strong passion
- 4:35Speaker 1: with performing and just being on a stage. And so
- 4:38Speaker 1: now I'm like, i gotta get a team because I've
- 4:40Speaker 1: done social media. I've been it for six years now,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and it's right once a day in the life of
- 4:47Speaker 1: like an influencer, a day in the life of an influencer.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So we like to stay healthy and like we also
- 4:55Speaker 1: create content when we do this. Um, we work out
- 4:59Speaker 1: in the morning, and then after that we go straight
- 5:02Speaker 1: home get ready for shooting, and then we literally shoot
- 5:05Speaker 1: all day long, and then we go home and we
- 5:08Speaker 1: edit what we shot, and it's like it was a
- 5:10Speaker 1: repeated cycle back then when like Instagram's algorithm was popping
- 5:14Speaker 1: because we're like what four million views, Leanne was getting
- 5:17Speaker 1: like twenty two to thirty million views, and like it
- 5:20Speaker 1: was so exciting back then that we wanted to like
- 5:23Speaker 1: continue to create content. So I always meet people that
- 5:26Speaker 1: are are saying that. I always say, oh, I want
- 5:29Speaker 1: to be an influencer young people. I think I'll just
- 5:31Speaker 1: be an influencer. I'm like, I don't know. I tried
- 5:34Speaker 1: working out with you guys. As you know, I worked
- 5:37Speaker 1: out with these guys for I want to say it
- 5:39Speaker 1: was like six months and was insistent. I was consistent,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and it was to say the least, like first of all,
- 5:47Speaker 1: you have to change your diet, and then their workouts
- 5:49Speaker 1: were horribly brutal. It was like training for the Olympics.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I lost. I think I went in weighing like a
- 5:55Speaker 1: hundred and sixty and by the time I was done,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I was like seven within three months, Yeah, your come
- 6:01Speaker 1: doown was insane and that's how hard you guys work.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, No, it's an everyday thing. Like yeah, so
- 6:08Speaker 1: when you see an influencer body, just so you know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: when you see an influencer body online, like at first
- 6:14Speaker 1: I used to think, Okay, maybe some of them are
- 6:16Speaker 1: enhanced or whatever. But the amount of work that it
- 6:20Speaker 1: takes to sculpture body to that level of perfection. I'm
- 6:24Speaker 1: still trying to get these games. I'm like, I'm so tiny,
- 6:28Speaker 1: but i mean, one day super perfect body. I'm gonna
- 6:32Speaker 1: go ahead and add the celery and carrots to the
- 6:36Speaker 1: broth as well as the cabbage, so that could start
- 6:38Speaker 1: to soak softened up. Yeah, make it tender, nice good.
- 6:47Speaker 1: So on the business tip, though you've been technically in
- 6:51Speaker 1: business for yourself for a very long time. On the
- 6:54Speaker 1: on when it comes to being an influencer, how does
- 6:58Speaker 1: the whole money play into Is it like you just
- 7:00Speaker 1: pursue your your passion and then the money comes later
- 7:05Speaker 1: or do you grind for that too. So that's the
- 7:09Speaker 1: interesting thing about it all. I've been doing social media
- 7:12Speaker 1: for six years and I feel like within the last
- 7:15Speaker 1: two three years is when I just started to make
- 7:17Speaker 1: my money. It would literally be like I have two
- 7:21Speaker 1: million followers on Instagram and I'm still not making anything.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So then they came out with like waste to like
- 7:28Speaker 1: monetize your content. I know YouTube has been doing that
- 7:30Speaker 1: for years, but with Instagram, like you're doing You're creating
- 7:34Speaker 1: all this content and you're not getting paid unless a
- 7:37Speaker 1: brand reaches out and they're like, hey, we want you
- 7:39Speaker 1: to promote our product. Can you create a video or
- 7:42Speaker 1: a concept about it? And that's how Like recently I've
- 7:45Speaker 1: been like I get a lot and yeah, within the
- 7:52Speaker 1: last year, m two year or two, I've been working
- 7:57Speaker 1: with a lot of brands and like I got a
- 7:59Speaker 1: man that plays like a huge role in it because
- 8:02Speaker 1: she actually like consistently pitches me to brands. But before
- 8:08Speaker 1: it was just it was really hard. I'm like, how
- 8:11Speaker 1: long can I start making money? Like and then doing
- 8:14Speaker 1: like long shifts and then to not like so here
- 8:17Speaker 1: you are you're working say I'm guessing like a ten
- 8:20Speaker 1: to ten hour day minimum, and then you're still not
- 8:24Speaker 1: making money for the first three years and then you're
- 8:27Speaker 1: finally making money. That's crazy. It's insane, and um, I've
- 8:33Speaker 1: been blessed like to work with so many brands like
- 8:36Speaker 1: I did Victoria's Secret recently Mabel Lane, um like big brands,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and I'm like, I'm finally working with people I dreamed
- 8:43Speaker 1: of working with. So it's kind of like crazy like
- 8:47Speaker 1: to see like the whole process. But people are like,
- 8:50Speaker 1: you've got so much money, and I'm like, if only
- 8:52Speaker 1: you knew, I just started making money. And it's kind
- 8:55Speaker 1: of like figuring out ways to make money. Like a
- 8:58Speaker 1: lot of people don't know about monetization on TikTok or
- 9:01Speaker 1: Instagram and facebooks or you said algorithm and I was
- 9:04Speaker 1: like algorithm, and yeah, oh my god, it's switched up
- 9:08Speaker 1: on us drastically. We're like where are the views? Where
- 9:13Speaker 1: are the likes? Where are the people? So are you
- 9:15Speaker 1: guys able to make money on like say when a
- 9:17Speaker 1: TikTok comes out, Like, um, so TikTok has a creator
- 9:21Speaker 1: program now where you can monetize your content. It's not
- 9:25Speaker 1: like any crazy money, but you're still getting paid by
- 9:28Speaker 1: like I think it's her how many views you get?
- 9:34Speaker 1: I think, yeah, so, um, I think you could get
- 9:39Speaker 1: paid their. Facebook also monetizes your content. The footage has
- 9:43Speaker 1: to be three minutes long, though. I think it's like
- 9:46Speaker 1: that on Facebook and YouTube or YouTube maybe ten minutes
- 9:49Speaker 1: worth of content. So it's like you have to create
- 9:52Speaker 1: all this content for all these platforms and like try
- 9:55Speaker 1: to figure out how you can like make a rew
- 9:57Speaker 1: you know. So it's it's so it's so much to study,
- 10:01Speaker 1: it's so much to do. Like people don't understand, like
- 10:05Speaker 1: do you think it's easier for you to just do
- 10:07Speaker 1: a brand than did the monetization dollars or um? I
- 10:10Speaker 1: think I love working with brands, Like it's honestly easier
- 10:14Speaker 1: for me because they kind of give you a creator
- 10:16Speaker 1: brief and let you know what they want you to do,
- 10:19Speaker 1: and it's like okay, like I can knock that out
- 10:21Speaker 1: as to me being like what do I shoot today?
- 10:24Speaker 1: You know, like what's gonna go viral? So it's just
- 10:28Speaker 1: like I just love working with brands in general, you know, Lemons.
- 10:35Speaker 1: So when you see when you produce like your dance
- 10:38Speaker 1: videos per se, like a lot of them look to me,
- 10:41Speaker 1: they look very pricey, Oh my goodness. Oh yeah yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 1: And but you're the business mine and the person that
- 10:49Speaker 1: cuts the check, right, I do it all. See. I
- 10:52Speaker 1: think a lot of people that yeah, I know, I scout,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I scout the talent. I go and buy the wardrobe.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Like I play all roles. Um when it comes to
- 11:02Speaker 1: like my content, Um, well, I don't shoot the video.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I have a video offer comes and captures that, but
- 11:09Speaker 1: I still have to pay him for that, you know,
- 11:11Speaker 1: Um locations, I have to pay for locations. So it's
- 11:15Speaker 1: just so much that comes to shooting a video, especially
- 11:18Speaker 1: in the dance videos, Like when I get a bunch
- 11:20Speaker 1: of girls, I have to buy all their wardrobe and
- 11:22Speaker 1: pay the choreographer and like it's so much, and I
- 11:27Speaker 1: don't think people realize that. So I'm like, I want
- 11:29Speaker 1: the video to do good so I could like at
- 11:31Speaker 1: least get something back, or even if it's just support,
- 11:34Speaker 1: you know. I'm like, I think as a female, and
- 11:37Speaker 1: I hate to do this bring up the female versus
- 11:40Speaker 1: male thing, but I think when they see like people
- 11:43Speaker 1: see a pretty girl, they just say, oh, it's a
- 11:45Speaker 1: it's a it's an influencer. And I tell people all
- 11:48Speaker 1: the time, those influencer girls are badass, Like no, we
- 11:53Speaker 1: are definitely hustlers, you know. And then even back then
- 11:56Speaker 1: when we would have to attend events, like it was
- 11:59Speaker 1: always something like especially my main thing is like staying relevant,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you know, because there's in the influencer world. Anyone can
- 12:07Speaker 1: do it now, you know. It's literally you start from
- 12:10Speaker 1: being home like and having a phone, you know. So
- 12:13Speaker 1: the market has become saturated so quickly that it's like,
- 12:17Speaker 1: all right, years are going by, and I even get
- 12:21Speaker 1: people like she's still around, Like are you serious? Yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 1: where's Janina been? I'm like on all platforms, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 1: like working. I'm twenty three. Yeah, Like that's what people
- 12:37Speaker 1: don't like take into consideration, like you're twenty three. Yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 1: And it's partially because I was dating an older man,
- 12:45Speaker 1: But I mean it is what it is. I'm gonna
- 12:48Speaker 1: add more vegetable broths because this thing is getting alone.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I love that you in Storm. I don't know your
- 12:56Speaker 1: guys situation. I'm not going to get into it, so
- 12:58Speaker 1: I don't want the commis shift to it. But I
- 13:01Speaker 1: love that you guys still remain very well. If you
- 13:04Speaker 1: guys are back together book obviously right, but but cordial,
- 13:09Speaker 1: very cordial, and you still keep the working supportive relationship going.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I mean Storm played a major role um
- 13:19Speaker 1: with my career, and I feel like a lot of
- 13:23Speaker 1: the things I know I wouldn't know if I had
- 13:25Speaker 1: never met him. You know, I learned how to edit,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I learned how to come up with ideas. Um and
- 13:31Speaker 1: his work ethic is like insane. Oh yeah, and he's
- 13:35Speaker 1: so helpful. Like that's one thing about that man Um
- 13:40Speaker 1: that like you just can't like not acknowledge. He has
- 13:44Speaker 1: helped so many people, like from King batch Le and
- 13:47Speaker 1: v Hannah Stalking and so it's always like we like
- 13:50Speaker 1: thank him so much and appreciate him so much because
- 13:53Speaker 1: he's played a big role in all of our careers.
- 13:55Speaker 1: So yeah, now he he also brought up the whole
- 13:59Speaker 1: Vines situation and that's where it was that the first
- 14:02Speaker 1: platform that you got on. Yeah, Vining was the first
- 14:05Speaker 1: platform I got on because it was popping back then,
- 14:08Speaker 1: and it was so easy to grow on Vine because
- 14:11Speaker 1: everyone was coming together and they were collaborating and everyone
- 14:14Speaker 1: was just shooting videos. And before it shut down, I
- 14:17Speaker 1: got to half a million followers. And so when it
- 14:20Speaker 1: shut down, we all transferred over to Instagram, and I
- 14:24Speaker 1: believe back then it was fifteen second videos. Yeah, and
- 14:27Speaker 1: then there's like no, it started to be like all up.
- 14:31Speaker 1: It's just fascinating to me and I want everybody to
- 14:34Speaker 1: hear or see this, like to really understand because obviously
- 14:39Speaker 1: being in l A, you people talk about influencers like
- 14:42Speaker 1: I just want to be one, or or oh it's
- 14:44Speaker 1: just a hot chick or or or maybe even fake
- 14:47Speaker 1: boots or fake this, and it's just like I know
- 14:50Speaker 1: you guys, and I'm like false, Like this girl is
- 14:54Speaker 1: a badass hustler. Yeah, we're not giving enough credit. No,
- 14:59Speaker 1: That's why I'm so excited to have you on the
- 15:01Speaker 1: show because people need to see, like, you're entrepreneur. These
- 15:05Speaker 1: women are entrepreneurs. They're working ten twelve hour days. They're
- 15:09Speaker 1: the creative and the business, which usually you don't get
- 15:12Speaker 1: in business. Usually you're either a creative or business. You
- 15:17Speaker 1: have to manage both. Yeah. Yeah, and sometimes we even
- 15:20Speaker 1: like we're the director, you know, like we will have
- 15:22Speaker 1: a director to shoot our series, but we know what
- 15:25Speaker 1: we want at the end of the day, and so
- 15:27Speaker 1: we're the director, the producer, the creator, like every we
- 15:30Speaker 1: play every role. But it's it's I think social media
- 15:34Speaker 1: is beautiful and the reason why I say that is
- 15:38Speaker 1: because it lets you be you. You know, you have
- 15:42Speaker 1: control of what you do. I noticed when I was
- 15:44Speaker 1: in the acting world and the music world, I was
- 15:46Speaker 1: always depending on someone and like, at the end of
- 15:49Speaker 1: the day, if I want to be like I want
- 15:50Speaker 1: to shoot TikTok's all day, I have my phone. I
- 15:53Speaker 1: could do it by myself, you know. And so I
- 15:55Speaker 1: like the fact that I have control of what, like
- 15:58Speaker 1: my career now, you know, if I want to put
- 15:59Speaker 1: up create a business, go get people and be like
- 16:02Speaker 1: this is what we're doing, you know. So I just
- 16:04Speaker 1: love that social media like you have the ability to
- 16:07Speaker 1: do that. Do you feel like social media helps boost
- 16:14Speaker 1: your confidence in your all? Like I guess, um, what
- 16:18Speaker 1: is it like self? Yea, yeah, no, definitely, because I
- 16:24Speaker 1: remember in the acting world, when you go to these auditions,
- 16:28Speaker 1: you take all this time to learn their scripts. You
- 16:30Speaker 1: go in they actually to read give you some direction
- 16:33Speaker 1: and then I like have a good day. Then you
- 16:35Speaker 1: sometimes you don't hear back from them, and it's like
- 16:37Speaker 1: I just spent all this time doing this and I
- 16:39Speaker 1: don't even know if I'm going to get the role.
- 16:41Speaker 1: So I felt like my self esteem back then was
- 16:43Speaker 1: starting to get low and like like almost hitting a
- 16:47Speaker 1: little depression, like why am I not getting anything? And
- 16:51Speaker 1: it was just a tough world. And then it's like
- 16:53Speaker 1: some people have bad days and then they're taking it
- 16:55Speaker 1: out on you, like casting directors, and I'm like, I'm
- 16:58Speaker 1: just here in my roles. So it's just a lot
- 17:01Speaker 1: of energy in that world that I feel just was
- 17:05Speaker 1: almost like, I don't know, a little toxic. So social media,
- 17:09Speaker 1: you don't, you don't really have to deal with that.
- 17:11Speaker 1: You know, you deal with people and like it's either
- 17:13Speaker 1: you want to work you don't. You know. But now
- 17:17Speaker 1: if you were to cross over to mainstream, and I've
- 17:19Speaker 1: seen some of you guys like Melvin Greg was able
- 17:22Speaker 1: to if you came from your guys squad, And do
- 17:26Speaker 1: you feel like there's a hindrance or there could be
- 17:28Speaker 1: a hindrance going from influencer to mainstream, Yeah, I do,
- 17:34Speaker 1: because the thing I hear the most is mainstream doesn't
- 17:39Speaker 1: really take social media influencers seriously. So I like, if
- 17:43Speaker 1: you only knew these social media some social media creators
- 17:47Speaker 1: actually did mainstream before, but they just weren't known, you know,
- 17:51Speaker 1: Like I was an actress before social media. I could
- 17:54Speaker 1: still read a script, but because I'm an influencer, I'm
- 17:57Speaker 1: not going to be as like taken SERI like, you know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: so it's it's definitely harder to cross over, like I've
- 18:04Speaker 1: tried to like get agencies and like be like, oh
- 18:07Speaker 1: I want to work with you guys, and it's still tough.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Like I'm like, I have this whole platform and it's
- 18:11Speaker 1: it's still hard, you know. So it's definitely what's the
- 18:17Speaker 1: hardest thing that you think in your career you face
- 18:19Speaker 1: where you thought about maybe given up or where you
- 18:22Speaker 1: were like in the crossroads of like the dark side,
- 18:25Speaker 1: you know, jump it off the cliff, you know, staying
- 18:28Speaker 1: on on the mountain, like you're right. Um, with social media,
- 18:33Speaker 1: I don't really think I've come across that. With acting.
- 18:36Speaker 1: In music, I feel like I did again. I just
- 18:39Speaker 1: feel like the energy in that world is just a
- 18:41Speaker 1: little darker. And um, I don't know, I'm gonna say this,
- 18:46Speaker 1: but you guys can get off you want. I feel
- 18:48Speaker 1: like there's a lot of pedophilia and music and acting,
- 18:52Speaker 1: you know. So it's always like you do this for me,
- 18:54Speaker 1: I do this for you, you know, and then that's
- 18:57Speaker 1: for both guys and girls, because guys do get it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah absolutely, But I think that
- 19:04Speaker 1: was just my thing. Yeah, that's interesting you say that.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I like that you said that because nobody ever talks
- 19:10Speaker 1: about it. Yeah, no, it's it's a thing. And like
- 19:13Speaker 1: I remember, like I went to this meeting, like this event,
- 19:17Speaker 1: and I was so disgusted because I'm like, wow, social
- 19:21Speaker 1: media is so different than this. And this guy comes
- 19:24Speaker 1: over and he's like, what do you want to do?
- 19:26Speaker 1: Whatever you want to do, I got you. I'm like, okay,
- 19:29Speaker 1: Like I'll pitch you my ideas. And then it went
- 19:32Speaker 1: down this path and I was like, you're nasty. I'm
- 19:36Speaker 1: not doing that. I'm gonna stick on here and be
- 19:39Speaker 1: on TikTok and my good gram. So it's just it's hard,
- 19:44Speaker 1: like as a woman and like any world honestly, but
- 19:48Speaker 1: in social media you don't really encounter like weird people
- 19:51Speaker 1: like that, you know, because you're you're basically taking the
- 19:53Speaker 1: tools that everyone has accessible to them, but you're exploiting them,
- 19:58Speaker 1: I would say, exploiting them to grow your business to grow.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Do you think that the secret to being an influencer
- 20:07Speaker 1: or to having success is really being yourself or creating
- 20:10Speaker 1: a character. So I think it has you have to
- 20:14Speaker 1: be yourself with social media because I remember you remember
- 20:17Speaker 1: when I used to wear contacts, I used Oh my god,
- 20:21Speaker 1: the storm at that time was like you don't want
- 20:24Speaker 1: to start social media like being this character because they're
- 20:29Speaker 1: always gonna want that, you know, So it's just better
- 20:31Speaker 1: to be you instead of kind of like my desireus.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Hannah Montana like, I just think it's better just to
- 20:38Speaker 1: be who you are because you can always be you.
- 20:40Speaker 1: At the end of the day. When you're playing a character,
- 20:42Speaker 1: it could become a little exhausting and everyone knows you
- 20:44Speaker 1: as that character and it's like, hey, guys, I'm actually
- 20:46Speaker 1: myself and nobody takes you serious as yourself because they
- 20:50Speaker 1: know that character. So I would say just to be
- 20:52Speaker 1: you all the way, and then if you want to
- 20:54Speaker 1: play characters, play characters, but don't have it be your
- 20:57Speaker 1: like main focus. You know. Do you think the secret
- 21:01Speaker 1: is how much you like quantity over quality or quality
- 21:05Speaker 1: over quantity when it comes to social media because it
- 21:08Speaker 1: is competitive landscape that looks so good camera above, I
- 21:14Speaker 1: hope I wish you could see this. It looks great.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I'm like, should let me just throw a little more
- 21:21Speaker 1: for it? Some pep worm. So do you think it's
- 21:27Speaker 1: quality over quantity or quantity over quality um? I think
- 21:32Speaker 1: it's quantity over quality because if you have more quantity,
- 21:38Speaker 1: quantity and people don't care for the quality stuff honestly,
- 21:42Speaker 1: like when I shoot like high deaf videos and like
- 21:47Speaker 1: the more serious stuff, they don't really relate to that
- 21:49Speaker 1: because they can't really do it. But ut quantity, you
- 21:53Speaker 1: are consistent and it's more and they know that they're
- 21:55Speaker 1: gonna continue to get more from you. So I definitely think,
- 22:00Speaker 1: why is that like a tongue twister for me? Quantity
- 22:03Speaker 1: over quality? Are you going to diversify? Diversify like as
- 22:08Speaker 1: in like all different industries. Are you just gonna stay
- 22:11Speaker 1: like music and entertainment and I'm doing everything. Yeah. Now
- 22:16Speaker 1: that I've like under like understand social media and I
- 22:19Speaker 1: feel like I hadn't fully mastered it, but I feel like,
- 22:22Speaker 1: very what's going on here? Don't start a fire? Um um.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Now that I feel like more comfortable in social media
- 22:33Speaker 1: because my main thing was just having money, you know,
- 22:38Speaker 1: and being able to support myself and my family if
- 22:41Speaker 1: maybe you know. So now that I finally have reached
- 22:45Speaker 1: that state, which is recent, I'm able to branch out
- 22:49Speaker 1: and be like, oh, I want to do movies and
- 22:51Speaker 1: like get back in the studio. So I definitely want
- 22:54Speaker 1: to accomplish all the worlds because I feel like look
- 22:57Speaker 1: at j Lowen Beyonce and so like they've tapped into
- 23:01Speaker 1: every market and that's something I want to do for
- 23:04Speaker 1: myself too. Oh nice, Well, I think I definitely think
- 23:08Speaker 1: and no, you have the capability of doing it between
- 23:11Speaker 1: your work ethic, your talent and your looks. You know,
- 23:17Speaker 1: maize my hands and you and your your looks hot mama. Um, Yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 1: you can definitely do it, you know. Yeah. What is
- 23:30Speaker 1: like some advice that you would give to someone that
- 23:33Speaker 1: like has held you through the this whole journey, Because
- 23:40Speaker 1: I've seen you through. I've seen you through your highs.
- 23:43Speaker 1: You're I don't think i've ever seen you low low,
- 23:46Speaker 1: but I've seen you through. I've seen you through different
- 23:49Speaker 1: amountains in different chapters. No one we first met you, though,
- 23:51Speaker 1: Like even though we were performing, there was still like
- 23:53Speaker 1: a struggle, Like my parents got divorced like around that time,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and like there was just a lot of like back history,
- 24:02Speaker 1: like outside of the scenes that we were still going
- 24:05Speaker 1: through and like I was trying to figure it out,
- 24:08Speaker 1: like how can I start to like make money for
- 24:11Speaker 1: my family? Like if times are hard and it's expensive,
- 24:17Speaker 1: it's so expensive, and like back then we were like
- 24:22Speaker 1: my family was like putting so much into my career
- 24:24Speaker 1: that I'm like, I need to do something, like I
- 24:26Speaker 1: need to pop off, like I need to become a star,
- 24:28Speaker 1: because everyone I felt at that time was like depending
- 24:32Speaker 1: on my career to take off. You know, do you
- 24:34Speaker 1: felt like your parents because your parents were helping you
- 24:37Speaker 1: get your help? Yes, but you felt like, as a
- 24:40Speaker 1: young person, like I need to pay back. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And I know maybe that's not like the right way
- 24:46Speaker 1: to look at it, but at that moment, I was
- 24:48Speaker 1: like I need to like come up for my family,
- 24:53Speaker 1: you know, and me as well, like I wanted to
- 24:55Speaker 1: be a star. So it definitely I felt like a
- 24:58Speaker 1: lot of pressure, you know, and like when I wouldn't
- 25:00Speaker 1: get the gig and things like that, it was like
- 25:03Speaker 1: that's when I say, like you hit like a little
- 25:05Speaker 1: depression and stuff like that. So I think that's all right,
- 25:08Speaker 1: it's not. It's because yeah, I think it looks pretty,
- 25:14Speaker 1: it looks stunned, got worry, I don't mind chopping. Okay, alright,
- 25:21Speaker 1: to eat guys, drum roll. There's a little role. Can
- 25:25Speaker 1: I do a little like test out? Really did the pandemic?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Did you? Did you survive the pandemic gracefully or did
- 25:38Speaker 1: you did you hit some rough pop? Um? I feel
- 25:42Speaker 1: like digital was doing great during that time. It was
- 25:44Speaker 1: like our content everybody stuck at home. Yeah, and the
- 25:47Speaker 1: Black Lives Matter was going on at that time. You
- 25:50Speaker 1: guys did a lot. Yeah. No, we were out there protesting,
- 25:54Speaker 1: Like it was my first protest, and I was like,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I gotta get it out there. Like I was so hot,
- 26:00Speaker 1: like I was heated and so upset with what I
- 26:03Speaker 1: was seeing. And I also noticed, I'm gonna say it,
- 26:07Speaker 1: because I'm like an open book um brands felt the
- 26:11Speaker 1: need to collaborate with more black creators. Heck yea. So
- 26:15Speaker 1: it was definitely a more come up time and like
- 26:18Speaker 1: that was a time where I really like started to
- 26:20Speaker 1: generate revenue. So it's crazy, but I mean, and I'm
- 26:27Speaker 1: just curious, like how do you feel about that? Because
- 26:29Speaker 1: I noticed that during Black History Month. Traditionally, Black History
- 26:33Speaker 1: Month has been downplayed, I think for plenty of years.
- 26:36Speaker 1: But this year was the first time I stepped into
- 26:38Speaker 1: Target and I had seen like right when you walk
- 26:41Speaker 1: in the door, I had, you know, a display of books,
- 26:45Speaker 1: and I was shocked that I was taken back, like
- 26:48Speaker 1: even took a picture of it, like, wait a minute,
- 26:51Speaker 1: we're actually getting this lot recognition and it's not in
- 26:55Speaker 1: the back. I was, and I remember not two months
- 26:58Speaker 1: ago there was. Yeah, you know, we were definitely pushed
- 27:00Speaker 1: it to the front. Yeah, we were. And it's one
- 27:03Speaker 1: of those ironic catch twenty two. It's like you're you're
- 27:06Speaker 1: kind of like, dang, it took this much a lot
- 27:10Speaker 1: to get this far. But at the same time, for
- 27:11Speaker 1: the black community, it's like you would have to be
- 27:13Speaker 1: foolish not to like take advantage of finally being acknowledged
- 27:17Speaker 1: for this type of distribution. Right exactly, exactly, camera on top.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Look at this dish. This looks like I could pay
- 27:26Speaker 1: for this at a restaurant. Look, just so you know, guys,
- 27:29Speaker 1: we're gonna see her cooking ability. I don't know if
- 27:32Speaker 1: she's sing one or not, but here it is. Here
- 27:38Speaker 1: we go. I clean after I cook, so we're gonna
- 27:44Speaker 1: see because I've been cleaning after every episode. Alright, definitely, chair,
- 27:49Speaker 1: chair chair. It looks so delicious. Here we go. But
- 27:59Speaker 1: good taste, great mm hmm. And this is a broke dish, yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 1: being broken so bad. Oh my god, No, I think
- 28:10Speaker 1: we have the best food, to be honest. You ever
- 28:14Speaker 1: go somewhere and like pay a lot of money for
- 28:15Speaker 1: food and it come out like, yeah, mediocre. Yeah, that's
- 28:20Speaker 1: the worst, especially people that get their food delivered. You
- 28:23Speaker 1: haven't tried the restaurant. Oh my god, I'm really so mad.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I ordered pasta from this place, and I said, this
- 28:30Speaker 1: is horrible. Why did they do that to me? Because
- 28:32Speaker 1: they literally put a bunch of pasta on the bottom
- 28:35Speaker 1: and then chicken and vegetables on top, like nothing was
- 28:38Speaker 1: mixed together or season. I said, they're so wrong for that.
- 28:42Speaker 1: They are. That's horrible. Yoh, this is really good. You're like,
- 28:47Speaker 1: I'm impressed with you. I'm really impressed your little ratitude
- 28:52Speaker 1: e what's her name? Sidekick gratitude? What does she say?
- 28:57Speaker 1: I don't even know. You know she was on it.
- 29:00Speaker 1: She was definitely on it for the readcast. She only
- 29:02Speaker 1: cut your stuff. That's it. You get all the credit
- 29:05Speaker 1: for this. Thank you. I appreciate it. But this is
- 29:07Speaker 1: so good. I don't have to take this home. Yeah, honestly,
