- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Say Hester and Hester got it far.
- 0:08Speaker 1: From carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each
- 0:11Speaker 1: other on.
- 0:11Speaker 3: The air well, there's drop control.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Kine studio.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It's off the bench, all right, welcome back in our
- 0:45Speaker 3: number three of O t B.
- 0:48Speaker 4: A lot of things going on right now in studio.
- 0:50Speaker 5: All the stars aligning, the planets aligning, whatever is a
- 0:53Speaker 5: lining for Will Wade to come back to l s U.
- 0:57Speaker 5: And this thing's happening fast and furious.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I would be.
- 1:02Speaker 6: We go a little bit better now than we did
- 1:03Speaker 6: ten minutes ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're feeling good
- 1:06Speaker 6: about it again.
- 1:08Speaker 5: April first, that's the date we kept throwing out there
- 1:10Speaker 5: because the buyout would go down. But look, I think
- 1:13Speaker 5: in these situations we've seen this play out a ton
- 1:16Speaker 5: because the person that you're trying to bring there like hey,
- 1:18Speaker 5: enough is enough, Like this is too much, Like I'm
- 1:20Speaker 5: coming or I'm not. You got a portal opening up
- 1:22Speaker 5: on April to seventh, and so I would be shocked
- 1:25Speaker 5: and like this isn't anything I have. This is just
- 1:28Speaker 5: dealing with these situations numerous amount of times that that's
- 1:31Speaker 5: a five.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Million dollar buyout.
- 1:33Speaker 5: It goes down to three on April the first probably
- 1:35Speaker 5: gonna hear it settle for four if that does happen.
- 1:38Speaker 5: And so I wouldn't be shocked because everybody's like, all right,
- 1:40Speaker 5: if this is gonna happen, let's just rip the band
- 1:42Speaker 5: aid off, let's make it happen.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Let's let another million. Yeah, at this point, at this point,
- 1:47Speaker 4: and honestly, what is like, what is it?
- 1:50Speaker 5: So that's where that's at, and we're going to continue
- 1:52Speaker 5: to monitor that and oftentimes we don't get a chance
- 1:55Speaker 5: to do that. We enjoy a full of news here
- 1:58Speaker 5: in the morning.
- 2:00Speaker 7: Adrenaline high right.
- 2:02Speaker 8: Now, you have it. You have a soft smile.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Well we can't. Yeah, yeah, big god, I feel like
- 2:08Speaker 4: I've taken my vibe answer.
- 2:10Speaker 8: You know.
- 2:10Speaker 9: It's but one of the best rodeo game is giving
- 2:17Speaker 9: me life too.
- 2:18Speaker 7: This is fun.
- 2:19Speaker 4: This is fun, this game. Who has the next question?
- 2:22Speaker 7: Matt? All right, and we've got a caller, So.
- 2:25Speaker 6: We got to give away these tickets guys we're throwing
- 2:27Speaker 6: off please, these are softballs, all right.
- 2:30Speaker 9: So we've got color number three. I don't know what
- 2:33Speaker 9: color number it.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Is, color number whatever you're on the air.
- 2:37Speaker 7: What's your name? Also? Are you on both? This sounds terrible?
- 2:43Speaker 8: Hey, how are we doing? All right?
- 2:46Speaker 6: You're ready to play some little eight seconds of fame
- 2:49Speaker 6: here for some amazing radio tickets you read to roll?
- 2:54Speaker 4: All right?
- 2:54Speaker 8: I ask you this question.
- 2:55Speaker 6: I'm going to say, go and you got eight seconds
- 2:58Speaker 6: to answer this question correctly. Okay, Jacob and I on
- 3:05Speaker 6: this show, we've broken down a lot of last season
- 3:07Speaker 6: L s U football. What is the name of the
- 3:12Speaker 6: one basic running play in football that L s U
- 3:16Speaker 6: did not run one time last season?
- 3:19Speaker 8: Go?
- 3:24Speaker 10: That's the only thing they ran?
- 3:27Speaker 4: All right?
- 3:28Speaker 9: Well, somebody else a chance, somebody else gets a chance.
- 3:32Speaker 7: Here we go. What do you all right?
- 3:37Speaker 4: We got to give these away?
- 3:38Speaker 7: Please? All right? Yeah, we got what's hey? Yes, I'm scared.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 3:55Speaker 7: Come on, Scott, I believe in you.
- 3:57Speaker 10: Where did Nick even coach before he got to l
- 3:59Speaker 10: a shoe?
- 4:06Speaker 9: Okay, I'm gonna put you on hold and then I'm
- 4:11Speaker 9: gonna get your info and then you won six tickets
- 4:16Speaker 9: to Honda Rodeo April ten through the twelve VIP tickets.
- 4:23Speaker 8: Congratulations.
- 4:27Speaker 5: I think Taylor was like, all right, we're done.
- 4:31Speaker 10: I was gonna throw any easier one. But I was like,
- 4:34Speaker 10: we'll just do that. Let's just get that knock it out.
- 4:37Speaker 7: All right, we're gonna do this again.
- 4:39Speaker 9: We're gonna be giving out these tickets.
- 4:42Speaker 4: We're gonna do it again.
- 4:43Speaker 7: We're gonna do it.
- 4:44Speaker 10: Okay, wait, we were getting on one pair, No one
- 4:48Speaker 10: thing six?
- 4:50Speaker 7: Well, No, it's it's we have more tickets to get
- 4:52Speaker 7: out you. Yes, but for today it was six tickets.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, got you.
- 4:56Speaker 5: I got a question that if you're a true O
- 4:58Speaker 5: TV listener you know the answer to.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah, the power we have yep.
- 5:05Speaker 5: I mean to be fair, like we have a Jonathan
- 5:07Speaker 5: Mox and Jersey in front of us every day.
- 5:10Speaker 4: There's a couple. But look, it's you get put on
- 5:13Speaker 4: the spot. It's not the lights get turned on.
- 5:16Speaker 8: Like that's when of the rodeo guys are feeling.
- 5:19Speaker 4: That's right, they're sweating.
- 5:20Speaker 8: They're sweating a little bit.
- 5:21Speaker 4: All right.
- 5:22Speaker 5: We got to play ketchup a little bit here because
- 5:24Speaker 5: we even neglected some things. We're juice me Medical go

- 6:16Speaker 7: I thought I was about to get cussed out.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I thought you were. I thought they yeah, something was
- 6:21Speaker 4: about to happen.
- 6:22Speaker 7: I know that was scary.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I saw all the bad decisions you've ever made go
- 6:28Speaker 5: through your head, like which one was about to come out?
- 6:31Speaker 8: It called the called the office catch.
- 6:35Speaker 5: All right again thirty four minutes ago on three. Yeah,
- 6:41Speaker 5: n C State head coach will wait expected to leave
- 6:45Speaker 5: for el at shoot, turn it up coming.
- 6:50Speaker 4: That way?
- 6:51Speaker 11: Wait ah the thing, Yes, no madum, fugive mistakes.
- 7:04Speaker 7: I'm coming, I'm coming. Tell the little coming.
- 7:14Speaker 8: Let's go. All right.
- 7:17Speaker 4: So again, this is thirty four minutes ago.
- 7:18Speaker 5: That is a report from on three, and we've talked
- 7:22Speaker 5: about it all morning. This is something that has not
- 7:25Speaker 5: really been a secret. It's been talked about, but it
- 7:27Speaker 5: is getting closer and closer, and those stars are aligning
- 7:31Speaker 5: and it's going to happen sooner rather than later. That
- 7:34Speaker 5: April first date feels like it is so far in
- 7:36Speaker 5: the distance you will never get there because well there's
- 7:39Speaker 5: some pressure from both sides, and so you're starting to
- 7:41Speaker 5: see that, you're starting to see the dominoes fall.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Whatever you want to use to say it.
- 7:45Speaker 5: And we'll wade one oh five and fifty one in
- 7:48Speaker 5: his career at LSU.
- 7:50Speaker 6: We take, we take. Hey, we are so back, baby.
- 7:56Speaker 6: I told we were talking about it before the show.
- 7:57Speaker 6: We're either going to care or we're not not gonna care.
- 8:01Speaker 6: It's gonna be a little lane. Yeah, well guess what
- 8:04Speaker 6: we got a little lane. Yeah here, now we are.
- 8:07Speaker 6: We're in baby, you're I think the things If will
- 8:13Speaker 6: Wait is in fact back to l Shue that brought
- 8:15Speaker 6: him here. He was at NC State. What's their mascot?
- 8:19Speaker 7: Wolf pack?
- 8:21Speaker 4: Fact? What did he hear us do? Al?
- 8:24Speaker 8: Wow, good week.
- 8:26Speaker 5: You know I'm at the wolf pack, but there's other wolves.
- 8:28Speaker 5: I think I need to be closer to this wolf pack.
- 8:32Speaker 8: Wolf pack. Come on, will join the wolf pack over here?
- 8:36Speaker 8: This one once a week during the season, give us
- 8:42Speaker 8: a good question or two. Wouldn't hurt you, wouldn't kill
- 8:45Speaker 8: you if you said a good question every now and then.
- 8:47Speaker 8: Wolve's coming on. Oh, he'll be there. We fact, we
- 8:50Speaker 8: were out.
- 8:53Speaker 4: This is what Gohadan yoused it.
- 9:04Speaker 8: I didn't.
- 9:05Speaker 6: Yeah, go ahead and step away from I'm just excited
- 9:08Speaker 6: about will Waite.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Tell y'all what do we talk about earlier?
- 9:13Speaker 5: Like, if you have an athletic department, You've got Will Wade,
- 9:15Speaker 5: you got Kim Moulkey, you got Lane Kiff, and you
- 9:18Speaker 5: got Jay Johnson, I mean other other coaches. So if
- 9:21Speaker 5: you're a coaching other sport, like trust me when I say,
- 9:23Speaker 5: like you're doing what you're supposed to be doing.
- 9:25Speaker 4: As well. What do we talk about often?
- 9:27Speaker 5: You really had one program that didn't have what everybody
- 9:31Speaker 5: else in the athletic department had, and we could go
- 9:33Speaker 5: to all the Olympic sports, we could go to basically
- 9:36Speaker 5: every sport, basically every sport on campus was where they
- 9:40Speaker 5: needed to be or they were over that line.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Now football has got to get back to that.
- 9:45Speaker 5: But you've won championships, you still got the buzz, you
- 9:48Speaker 5: got lin Koff, and YadA, YadA, YadA, y'all know that
- 9:51Speaker 5: you had one. So now this puts everybody on their
- 9:56Speaker 5: front foot. There's nobody on their hills right now. And
- 10:00Speaker 5: now it comes with a lot of expectation. It comes
- 10:03Speaker 5: with a lot of dollars and cents. But this is
- 10:07Speaker 5: who you want to be, which I can appreciate as
- 10:09Speaker 5: an alum. Doing everything you can it tried to be
- 10:11Speaker 5: the best that you possibly can. And if LSU wasn't
- 10:15Speaker 5: the villain already, which they were, we are now fully
- 10:18Speaker 5: we're Darth Vader, and that's okay. I don't really care
- 10:21Speaker 5: about anybody else. I don't even have to pretend anymore.
- 10:24Speaker 5: I don't do college radio anymore. I do NFL. I
- 10:26Speaker 5: don't even have to act like it anymore. There's all
- 10:29Speaker 5: l s U for me. Everybody else sucks.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I don't care period.
- 10:33Speaker 5: Tigers are good. That's all I care about. Yeah, I
- 10:35Speaker 5: don't care about nobody else. If you hate us, that's great.
- 10:39Speaker 5: All the things we're supposed to be doing.
- 10:42Speaker 8: So let's see what I'm saying.
- 10:43Speaker 7: Give me all the black hats.
- 10:44Speaker 6: Don't write any checks that your as skin cash. Well
- 10:47Speaker 6: we're cashing them.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 10: So that's that's the thing, right, Like Jay just mentioned said,
- 10:52Speaker 10: done give it one thing missing as far as like
- 10:56Speaker 10: elite coaches that energize fan bases, there was one piece
- 10:59Speaker 10: missing to that puzzle. Will wait is that final piece, Like, look,
- 11:03Speaker 10: whatever you think of Will Wade as a coach, I
- 11:05Speaker 10: don't know why you wouldn't like him as a coach.
- 11:06Speaker 10: You want to hell of a lot of games here,
- 11:08Speaker 10: But Will Wade's going to bring excitement back to the
- 11:10Speaker 10: p MAC.
- 11:11Speaker 8: And for someone that.
- 11:13Speaker 10: Watches every game and it's watched his team lose a
- 11:15Speaker 10: lot every game the last three years, if nothing else
- 11:18Speaker 10: is going to be exciting, If nothing else, it's gonna
- 11:20Speaker 10: be like you can walk in that.
- 11:21Speaker 8: P MAC and be like gonna be butts in the seats.
- 11:25Speaker 8: There's gonna be butting the seats. Maybe not.
- 11:27Speaker 10: They all gonna be standing up Will Wade's first game,
- 11:30Speaker 10: he's gonna he's gonna bring the energy here, man, And they're.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Gonna be playing breaking Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 8: They're not gonna be playing neck. They'll be playing breaking.
- 11:40Speaker 7: The Yeah, break your freaking neck.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Honestly, we all had a heart attack because it was
- 11:48Speaker 5: it was a hard, hard hard Tyler was listening like,
- 11:53Speaker 5: please do it.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Please. I still don't think Taylers Chick even knows or
- 11:58Speaker 4: remembers that he did that.
- 11:59Speaker 7: But one, oh man, I can't wait. I can't wait.
- 12:05Speaker 9: I can't wait for like the people that have like
- 12:07Speaker 9: just been like it's impossible, he's not Why would he
- 12:10Speaker 9: come back? Why would he do that? All right, you're
- 12:13Speaker 9: about to cope so hard. Bro, You're about to cope
- 12:16Speaker 9: so hard.
- 12:17Speaker 8: Get your popcorn.
- 12:22Speaker 10: Imagine like Lane Kiffin's year one sports well, yeah he
- 12:32Speaker 10: played California girls out of the well.
- 12:35Speaker 9: Wade's getting one, Kid's gonna get one, and like l
- 12:38Speaker 9: s U was just winning Natty's next season, all of them.
- 12:43Speaker 10: I also think that the SEC might get a little
- 12:46Speaker 10: bit easier next year in the basketball front, I don't
- 12:51Speaker 10: know why. I don't know why NATO's wouldn't take the
- 12:53Speaker 10: U n C job. I think, well, I think NATO
- 12:56Speaker 10: should take the U n C.
- 12:58Speaker 8: Job for that too.
- 13:00Speaker 10: Yeah, there's some guys up for it. But I mean,
- 13:03Speaker 10: if you're offered, I don't know why you wouldn't take it.
- 13:04Speaker 10: To the SEC. We'll see, maybe he does stay, it
- 13:07Speaker 10: might be a little bit easier. But yeah, I mean
- 13:09Speaker 10: Lank kivid you know when his when he got here,
- 13:11Speaker 10: I mean that that that blew up right, like everybody
- 13:13Speaker 10: met him at the airport and all this.
- 13:15Speaker 8: Well, wait, it's gonna be similar.
- 13:16Speaker 10: I mean, think about the people that have been begging
- 13:19Speaker 10: for this guy to come back for four years now,
- 13:20Speaker 10: like it's it's gonna be big done.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Yeah, there was people that.
- 13:25Speaker 5: Watched LSU basketball, that spent money to go to LSU basketball,
- 13:29Speaker 5: that didn't miss LSU basketball because.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Of Will Wade.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Yeah, and those people weren't there before they left. After
- 13:37Speaker 5: those people are going to come back.
- 13:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 9: So I mean we had a student section when Will
- 13:43Speaker 9: Wade was here, Crawfish pod and everything.
- 13:45Speaker 10: You didn't have to bribe them with a free T shirts.
- 13:48Speaker 7: Yeah, and say please stay in the whole game and.
- 13:50Speaker 10: Say you can't get them till the third quarter. Now,
- 13:52Speaker 10: I mean because that happens.
- 13:54Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, it is a good move, but you shouldn't
- 13:57Speaker 7: have to make it.
- 13:58Speaker 8: No T shirt like a free one.
- 14:00Speaker 7: If it's free, it's me.
- 14:01Speaker 4: But they're so like stiff some of them are.
- 14:04Speaker 5: If you get like a fifty fifty a free hat,
- 14:06Speaker 5: no way, I can't free hats either.
- 14:09Speaker 4: One of these heads.
- 14:10Speaker 6: Free shirt now. Yeah, sometimes they got that cotton poly
- 14:15Speaker 6: blend very rarely, but if you do, a lot of
- 14:17Speaker 6: them are like you're right, a lot of them are
- 14:19Speaker 6: one hundred and ten percent.
- 14:20Speaker 10: You find that's your favorite shirt, You find that perfect.
- 14:23Speaker 10: You're wearing it all the time.
- 14:26Speaker 8: It hits.
- 14:29Speaker 7: What the birds are singing, shining.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Yeah, giving away tickets will wade. I don't even know
- 14:39Speaker 6: what else happened. Who cares, like Monchi says about our
- 14:46Speaker 6: team's performance. I want to bottle this feeling up.
- 14:48Speaker 7: Yeah, I want to bottle this up too, Come man,
- 14:54Speaker 7: that's perfect song.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I was able.
- 14:58Speaker 5: I was able to be in the Mass and Square
- 15:00Speaker 5: Garden when Carmelo Anthony got traded to the Knicks. He
- 15:03Speaker 5: was going back there and they played that song.
- 15:05Speaker 8: That's awesome.
- 15:06Speaker 4: There's incredible.
- 15:08Speaker 8: So we'll give you some chills.
- 15:09Speaker 4: If you got some, you're really coming home.
- 15:12Speaker 8: Somebody's actually coming home. You're playing for a reason, goose bumps.
- 15:15Speaker 5: All right, let's go ahead and take a break, regroup,
- 15:19Speaker 5: we'll come back. We still got plenty of time here on.
- 15:21Speaker 4: OTB after bench.
- 15:24Speaker 5: All right, go to gcop net dot com, Golf Coast

- 17:14Speaker 5: baseball with you, and like we always talk about, coach.
- 17:17Speaker 5: You just faced the number of seven team in the
- 17:19Speaker 5: country last weekend. Going to face another ranked team coming
- 17:22Speaker 5: up this weekend. But this one is a completely different
- 17:25Speaker 5: team now, a team you know very well, but they
- 17:27Speaker 5: got a little bit of a different style with them,
- 17:29Speaker 5: and so you know, Kentucky kind of brings some different
- 17:32Speaker 5: challenges Yeah, no.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Doubt Nick is one of the best coaches in the country,
- 17:38Speaker 2: if not the best, in my opinion. He's done a
- 17:41Speaker 2: great job there, you know, basketball school, and yeah got
- 17:45Speaker 2: him to Omaha's a baseball program played in the Super
- 17:48Speaker 2: Regional here agains stuff a few years ago. They have
- 17:51Speaker 2: a good niche do a good job evaluating players in
- 17:54Speaker 2: the portal, and good coaching staff. So they this is
- 17:58Speaker 2: kind of one of these years. They feel like it's
- 18:00Speaker 2: their year or two. So good challenge. Old team looking
- 18:05Speaker 2: forward to it, like I feel like this will be
- 18:08Speaker 2: another good test. Obviously, there's certain things in the series
- 18:12Speaker 2: we need to do well to be successful, and we'll
- 18:16Speaker 2: have the team lined up to do that.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Coach A little bit off track of just strictly baseball
- 18:22Speaker 6: ont here's kind of athletics in general. So I don't
- 18:25Speaker 6: expect you for you to kind of know this, but
- 18:27Speaker 6: a lot's kind of been happened in this morning on
- 18:28Speaker 6: the LSU athletic world from some maybe maybe only a
- 18:31Speaker 6: coaching front and some other sports. What does it mean
- 18:35Speaker 6: for you to be at a school that cares so
- 18:39Speaker 6: much and gives you all the you know, the resources
- 18:42Speaker 6: that it does to be successful.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I say this all the time. You know,
- 18:49Speaker 2: I had a great job at Arizona. I mean, if
- 18:51Speaker 2: you ask me young J Johnson baseball coach, growing up
- 18:55Speaker 2: with a profession, what was probably my dream job, I
- 18:58Speaker 2: would have said the University of Arizona, and that would
- 19:01Speaker 2: have been one thousand percent true. And you know, when
- 19:04Speaker 2: this deal came up and how it came up, it
- 19:07Speaker 2: was like, okay, if I don't do this, like this
- 19:10Speaker 2: is probably it. You know, I'm still relatively young, forty
- 19:14Speaker 2: four at the time, like I'm probably you know, just
- 19:18Speaker 2: living my career out at Arizona, which would have been great,
- 19:21Speaker 2: would have been happy. We'd been to Omaha a couple
- 19:22Speaker 2: of times. But I would just view this as the
- 19:25Speaker 2: pinnacle of college baseball, you know, other sports aside. You know,
- 19:29Speaker 2: I remember obviously watching you guys and Sugar Bowl win
- 19:32Speaker 2: in a national championship and kind of a random deal,
- 19:35Speaker 2: like I love college football. I went to the Oklahoma
- 19:38Speaker 2: LSUS to my final game in twenty nineteen. That was
- 19:41Speaker 2: my Christmas present for my wife, and we went there
- 19:44Speaker 2: and I looked out on the field and saw Joe
- 19:46Speaker 2: Burrow and those guys running around and the size of
- 19:48Speaker 2: the teams and go and I isn't going to be
- 19:50Speaker 2: good for the Sooners and so like, yeah, I just
- 19:56Speaker 2: it was like a one of one type deal. Coach
- 19:58Speaker 2: Bertman obviously you know legend, you know. So I love it,
- 20:02Speaker 2: and you know, Scott was great to be here. A
- 20:03Speaker 2: verge is great, you know obviously, you know we're in
- 20:07Speaker 2: an exciting time right now with you know, women's basketball
- 20:10Speaker 2: try to get back to the final four and they're
- 20:12Speaker 2: starting to spring football and so it's it's it's truly awesome.
- 20:17Speaker 5: Yeah, and coach you and I have talked about this before.
- 20:19Speaker 5: I mean, you're you're exactly right, and it's like one
- 20:21Speaker 5: of those jobs like you never think it's going to happen.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Then when it does, even if you're incredibly happy, like
- 20:25Speaker 5: you go and you accept it, if you're willing to
- 20:28Speaker 5: accept that challenge of like of what it is, and
- 20:32Speaker 5: you know it's sometimes difficult, like it's not for everybody,
- 20:35Speaker 5: and so that is something that we've talked about, Like
- 20:38Speaker 5: you have to understand like what that means when you
- 20:40Speaker 5: take a job like this, Every single weekend is going
- 20:42Speaker 5: to be a packed stadium. It's going to be a
- 20:44Speaker 5: packed house and the thing We've also talked about, you know, LSU,
- 20:48Speaker 5: regardless of the record, you're gonna get everybody's best shot.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt. And you know, I get asked about
- 20:54Speaker 2: that all the time from my friends out west, because
- 20:56Speaker 2: people don't really care all that much about college baseball
- 20:59Speaker 2: out there. Some great teams and great programs and certainly
- 21:02Speaker 2: great players, but there's just not the interest level. And
- 21:07Speaker 2: I always talk about it all the time, Like, you know,
- 21:09Speaker 2: the best part of this job is, like I'll just say,
- 21:12Speaker 2: a game we lost last Friday night, It's like we
- 21:14Speaker 2: have the basis loaded in the seventh inning and crowds
- 21:17Speaker 2: going crazy and behind the team and.
- 21:20Speaker 12: All of that stuff.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Like you don't don't get that very many places, maybe
- 21:23Speaker 2: like four or five in the entire country, And you know,
- 21:27Speaker 2: to get people that care about like what you're doing
- 21:30Speaker 2: is awesome, you know. And as far as the challenge part,
- 21:32Speaker 2: like I'm pretty simple, Like to me, it all comes
- 21:35Speaker 2: back to just like executing, you know, executing recruiting well,
- 21:39Speaker 2: executing player development well, executing game fundamental as well. And
- 21:44Speaker 2: you know, for the most part, we've done a good
- 21:46Speaker 2: job of that hit a little bit of a speed
- 21:47Speaker 2: bump with it. Here recently. But you know the good
- 21:50Speaker 2: part is, you know you have so many of these
- 21:52Speaker 2: good teams that you're gonna play, it's like you can
- 21:55Speaker 2: make up the ground. And that's what we're looking for
- 21:58Speaker 2: a good opportunity this weekend.
- 22:00Speaker 8: OK.
- 22:01Speaker 6: I know, you know about great expectations and exceeding those expectations,
- 22:04Speaker 6: And somebody that came into the season this year with
- 22:07Speaker 6: a lot of expectations was Case and Evans, and you know,
- 22:10Speaker 6: kind of toss up whether he was kind of feeling
- 22:12Speaker 6: the pressure or kind of stepping into that role the
- 22:14Speaker 6: right way, but certainly last week he had an amazing
- 22:17Speaker 6: out And what did that mean for your team and
- 22:20Speaker 6: your staff to see him go out there and execute
- 22:23Speaker 6: the way that y'all probably believe that he could.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a dude, like and like I did this
- 22:30Speaker 2: for my own like to put it in perspective for
- 22:33Speaker 2: maybe everybody else, But like, he's pitched in twenty four
- 22:36Speaker 2: games here I think over last year and this year,
- 22:39Speaker 2: and we won twenty one of those twenty four games.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Like that's remarkable. And you know, these guys do come
- 22:46Speaker 2: here to develop too, Like if they were a finished product,
- 22:49Speaker 2: then they wouldn't get here and we've certainly lost plenty
- 22:52Speaker 2: of guys in the draft, you know, out of high school,
- 22:55Speaker 2: particularly the last couple of years. You know, getting casing
- 22:57Speaker 2: through that was a big deal, you know, able to
- 23:00Speaker 2: extend and the regional final last year against Little Rock,
- 23:04Speaker 2: you know, one of the best pitch games, you know,
- 23:06Speaker 2: I've ever had a player pitch, and obviously in Omaha
- 23:09Speaker 2: against UCLA. And then there's still a different deal in
- 23:13Speaker 2: doing that every week. And you know, I believe it
- 23:16Speaker 2: was our job to get him lined up correctly. And
- 23:18Speaker 2: you know, as we've been able to see him more
- 23:20Speaker 2: in this role, like we've done a better job of
- 23:24Speaker 2: helping him be lined up correctly. And I think last
- 23:26Speaker 2: Thursday was the byproduct of that. Now this Kentucky team
- 23:29Speaker 2: will provide like a little bit of a different challenge
- 23:32Speaker 2: for that. But I have full confidence in him, Like
- 23:35Speaker 2: that's start, you know, our guy, like you know, think
- 23:38Speaker 2: about you know, you guys as players and the great
- 23:40Speaker 2: football players that have come through the program, whether it's
- 23:43Speaker 2: been like the Honey Badger, you know whoever, Like he's
- 23:47Speaker 2: that for LSU baseball and I wouldn't wouldn't rather have
- 23:50Speaker 2: anybody else out there on Fridays catch up.
- 23:53Speaker 5: With LSU had baseball coach Jay Johnson here on OTV.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Coaches stayed with the rotation, and look, you know, we're
- 23:59Speaker 5: never going to ask you to give us anything. It's
- 24:00Speaker 5: going to give the other team an advantage. So we
- 24:02Speaker 5: don't need names here. But when you do have a
- 24:04Speaker 5: starter that's going to be out for a little bit,
- 24:06Speaker 5: it's not like the MLB ranks where you can go
- 24:09Speaker 5: down to the miners. You bring somebody up for a
- 24:10Speaker 5: couple of spots, starts, and they send them back when
- 24:12Speaker 5: you're guys ready to go. So when you have to
- 24:15Speaker 5: find somebody to help you out get through a couple
- 24:17Speaker 5: of weeks, whatever the situation might be, what is that
- 24:20Speaker 5: conversation with kind of the rest of your staff, Because
- 24:23Speaker 5: it's not as easy as hey, let's go down the miners.
- 24:26Speaker 5: This guy's ready to go, he can give us something.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Because in college baseball, you've got three guys and you
- 24:30Speaker 5: hope they stay healthy. Sometimes it doesn't work out. So
- 24:33Speaker 5: when you have that situation, kind of what is the
- 24:35Speaker 5: thought process with you and your staff?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know we have been knock on wood
- 24:40Speaker 2: pretty fortunate here for the last couple of years. Since
- 24:43Speaker 2: twenty four, since Kochievsky has been here, We've been able
- 24:46Speaker 2: to keep those guys pretty healthy, and hopefully that's a
- 24:48Speaker 2: trend that continues. Get a little speed bump here with Cooper,
- 24:53Speaker 2: you know, and he's given us, you know, twelve to
- 24:55Speaker 2: fifteen outs on the weekend and kept us in all
- 24:58Speaker 2: six games, and he's pitched, but you know, he's obviously
- 25:01Speaker 2: not going to be available here for a few weeks,
- 25:03Speaker 2: so we're still working through that. I mean, not rocket science.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Case is going to start tomorrow and then William's going
- 25:10Speaker 2: to start one of the games either Saturday or Sunday,
- 25:12Speaker 2: and really proud of his development. And then we have
- 25:15Speaker 2: the pieces to like overcome this, you know, Like when
- 25:18Speaker 2: I look at our pitching staff, it's about lining them
- 25:22Speaker 2: up correctly because they have the talent to execute.
- 25:25Speaker 12: You know.
- 25:26Speaker 2: On the position player side, we need a couple guys
- 25:28Speaker 2: to like step up and and you know and play good,
- 25:31Speaker 2: you know, and I think there's more questions on that
- 25:33Speaker 2: side of the ball, But on the pitching side, we
- 25:36Speaker 2: can overcome this.
- 25:37Speaker 12: You know.
- 25:37Speaker 2: When you talk about you know, guys like Sharon Gidri, Rizzy,
- 25:41Speaker 2: Ethan ploggs, Anti Garcia, Cooper Williams, Marcus Pauz Rick and
- 25:46Speaker 2: Zion Theopolis through two good gay or two good innings,
- 25:49Speaker 2: you know. The other night, benj Font note like we
- 25:53Speaker 2: can overcome this, and you know it takes a little planning,
- 25:56Speaker 2: you know, and that's okay. You know, like I said,
- 25:59Speaker 2: when you're the coach the University of Nevada, not at LSU,
- 26:02Speaker 2: you're doing this every Tuesday of your life, so and
- 26:05Speaker 2: usually every Sunday of your life. So it's actually not
- 26:07Speaker 2: that foreign to me.
- 26:09Speaker 8: Guys.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Let's talk a little bit about the gloves and on
- 26:11Speaker 6: the defensive side of the ball. So there's probably been
- 26:14Speaker 6: some moments where you'd like for them to play a
- 26:16Speaker 6: little bit better, and you talked about the improvements. You go,
- 26:20Speaker 6: you're playing a really good Kentucky team, maybe like to
- 26:22Speaker 6: play a little small ball.
- 26:23Speaker 8: How do you think the matchups?
- 26:24Speaker 6: What's those conversations like with your defensive players going into
- 26:27Speaker 6: a series like this.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we're actually as soon as I hang up with you, guys,
- 26:31Speaker 2: we're having a staff meeting and making sure practice is
- 26:35Speaker 2: really aligned to you know, take care of all that
- 26:37Speaker 2: they do. You know, I watched the last five games
- 26:40Speaker 2: that they played series against oul Miss game against Murray
- 26:42Speaker 2: State last night, and you know, you got to get
- 26:47Speaker 2: the leadoff guy off bait because they could present a
- 26:50Speaker 2: lot of problems. The good news is, you know, at
- 26:53Speaker 2: least in terms of Case and William, those guys field
- 26:56Speaker 2: their position pretty well, which is really important. They've thrown strikes,
- 27:00Speaker 2: which is important. And then on defense, you know, it's
- 27:04Speaker 2: like we're still kind of working that out. You know,
- 27:06Speaker 2: Trad Carraway has done a nice job. We moved them
- 27:08Speaker 2: over to second base from third base and several games
- 27:11Speaker 2: and that's actually helped us tighten up the defense. John's
- 27:14Speaker 2: made some plays over at third and so we it's
- 27:18Speaker 2: just part of the deal. And you know, it's it's tough, man.
- 27:21Speaker 2: It's like it's just always go back to football. Like
- 27:24Speaker 2: I'm sure you know LSU wasn't too pumped when you
- 27:27Speaker 2: guys left for the NFL draft, going like, hey, we
- 27:29Speaker 2: got this guy and this guy you know, plugging him
- 27:32Speaker 2: in and defensively like Michael braswell third, Danny at second,
- 27:36Speaker 2: like those guys were unbelievable, you know, and Jared at first,
- 27:39Speaker 2: like that's the best infield in school history. So you know,
- 27:42Speaker 2: I expected a little bit of a challenge with this,
- 27:45Speaker 2: and we we just got to keep getting them better.
- 27:49Speaker 5: Hey, coach, we always appreciate your time. I appreciate you
- 27:51Speaker 5: hopping on with us. I'm putting this out in front
- 27:53Speaker 5: of you. It's down the road. But on May the fourteenth,
- 27:57Speaker 5: when the Gators come to town, if you need a
- 27:59Speaker 5: couple of old meatheads that are Gator haters to get
- 28:02Speaker 5: the crowd ready to go before the game, you just
- 28:05Speaker 5: let us to know and we'll be.
- 28:06Speaker 4: There for you.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Hey, two tickets under j Johnson count on it.
- 28:10Speaker 8: I will call let's go.
- 28:14Speaker 5: Absolutely. Hey, coach, we can't thank you enough. We always
- 28:16Speaker 5: look forward to the conversation. We'll see at the box
- 28:18Speaker 5: this weekend.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Guys, sounds great.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Have a good day, all right, you as well?
- 28:21Speaker 5: Jay Johnson, LSU head baseball coach, good enough to join
- 28:23Speaker 5: us every single week here on OTV. I mean they
- 28:29Speaker 5: can be pretty good tickets probably right, Oh yeah, don'll go.
- 28:33Speaker 5: Hey and Mango, if you're listening, can we get a
- 28:35Speaker 5: couple of jerseys, one that has fifteen on it, one
- 28:37Speaker 5: that has eighteen. We don't want our names on them,
- 28:39Speaker 5: we want Gator hater on the back. If you could
- 28:42Speaker 5: get that done. And we'll make sure we get the
- 28:44Speaker 5: crowd ready. Oh yeah, Jay Flynn family of five, Hester
- 28:47Speaker 5: family of thirty.
- 28:48Speaker 7: Okay, but wolf pack, y'all just abandoning the wolf pack.
- 28:52Speaker 5: That's crazy, huh, he said, Hester family of thirty are
- 28:56Speaker 5: in the okay.
- 28:57Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it's a section. We'll take a section. It's
- 29:03Speaker 8: a whole section. Yeah, that's a tough part.
- 29:06Speaker 10: Section right mound home plate.
- 29:08Speaker 4: I mean I see empty seats there sometimes.
- 29:10Speaker 8: Yeah, they're always there.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Yeah, like it'll be a packed house, but like where
- 29:14Speaker 4: those people are. What are you doing?
- 29:15Speaker 8: You'll spend a lot for those thick or they nobody
- 29:18Speaker 8: spent a lot.
- 29:20Speaker 4: I think they did. They just like the feel like
- 29:22Speaker 4: probably like company seats.
- 29:23Speaker 7: Yeah, probably they're the champion club ones.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Yeah, because like the stadium will be packed in the outfield,
- 29:29Speaker 4: down the.
- 29:29Speaker 9: Line, well, because those are like I know, we were
- 29:32Speaker 9: watching the game the other day and you want to
- 29:33Speaker 9: be with the people.
- 29:34Speaker 8: I want to send those seats, you.
- 29:36Speaker 7: Know where I want to sit, you know whose seats?
- 29:38Speaker 7: I like Georgia where they have like the kind underneath. Yes,
- 29:43Speaker 7: I love those.
- 29:44Speaker 5: I remember watching an LSU game and they're obviously playing
- 29:48Speaker 5: Georgia and Kirby Smart was back there like stuff in
- 29:51Speaker 5: his face and you could see him on the broadcast,
- 29:53Speaker 5: like Kirby was talking to somebody and eating and you
- 29:55Speaker 5: could see him through what you're talking about.
- 29:57Speaker 10: I'd like to just just hang out on top of
- 29:59Speaker 10: the dugout let walk across it.
- 30:01Speaker 4: I mean, is that not what Jay just said we
- 30:03Speaker 4: could do?
- 30:03Speaker 8: That's what I heard.
- 30:04Speaker 4: I heard.
- 30:07Speaker 8: Opposing dug outs.
- 30:08Speaker 10: You can jump up them a little bit.
- 30:10Speaker 5: If we throw it, like, we just want to throw
- 30:12Speaker 5: the first pitch to that, right, I know we've talked
- 30:14Speaker 5: about that in the past against Florida.
- 30:17Speaker 4: We're towing the rubber though when we do it.
- 30:19Speaker 8: Yeah, we're not stepping to the front of the mound.
- 30:21Speaker 4: No no, and.
- 30:22Speaker 5: I'm probably gonna miss, but it's gonna be high, it
- 30:25Speaker 5: ain't gonna be low.
- 30:27Speaker 8: I'm with that circle change.
- 30:31Speaker 4: That's just because that's all you got left.

- 32:28Speaker 5: that they've got right there, testimonies of past clients as well.
- 32:31Speaker 4: All that information right there, go tom dot com. All right,
- 32:36Speaker 4: let's get to one of our favorite segments of the week.
- 32:38Speaker 5: You're gonna answer your munchie questions with our guy chef
- 32:41Speaker 5: Michael Johnson.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Get ready to tantalyze your taste buds and leave this
- 32:46Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Monkey's with executive chef Michael Johnson.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Chef, what's up, brother, How we're doing, how we're living
- 32:55Speaker 5: doing fantastic? Always our pleasure. Glad to have you on.
- 32:58Speaker 5: And uh, I'm actually gonna start with one for me
- 33:01Speaker 5: and not the chat. And we've talked a little bit
- 33:03Speaker 5: about this before. But when you're trying to do the
- 33:07Speaker 5: right thing when it comes to eating, when you're trying
- 33:10Speaker 5: to you know, change some things in your life and
- 33:13Speaker 5: make sure that you're staying on top of it. They
- 33:15Speaker 5: make it really difficult. They make it difficult because eating
- 33:19Speaker 5: healthy is far more expensive than when you eat like trash.
- 33:24Speaker 5: What would you recommend if somebody's trying to maybe change
- 33:27Speaker 5: the way they eat, trying to eat a little bit
- 33:29Speaker 5: more clean and maybe some ways where it's still going
- 33:32Speaker 5: to cost more, but it's not going to leave you.
- 33:35Speaker 4: In the hole.
- 33:37Speaker 12: I think start with smuggles, you know what I mean,
- 33:39Speaker 12: Like maybe maybe start with instead of buying canned or
- 33:43Speaker 12: frozen veggies, just start with fresh veggies. And that's expensive
- 33:46Speaker 12: enough as it is, to be honest with you, you know,
- 33:48Speaker 12: like I don't going full on organic is even worse. Right, Like,
- 33:52Speaker 12: if you're trying to go from commodities to organic, that's
- 33:57Speaker 12: an expensive move. You can also jake, you know, to
- 34:00Speaker 12: start buying local and so for instance, a tomato that
- 34:05Speaker 12: was harvested from a commercial place or a tomato that
- 34:09Speaker 12: you get from the farmer's market. A tomato that was
- 34:12Speaker 12: harvested from the commercial place was picked while it was
- 34:14Speaker 12: still green, so it has it fully nutritionally developed, and
- 34:18Speaker 12: it's set on a shelf until they're ready to sell it,
- 34:20Speaker 12: and then they ethylene gass it so that ethylene gas
- 34:24Speaker 12: will turn it red and make it look like it's
- 34:27Speaker 12: a ripe tomato that it's been ye ripe, but it
- 34:30Speaker 12: doesn't actually have the full nutritional value that it's supposed to.
- 34:34Speaker 12: Whereas if you go to a farmer's market, those tomatoes
- 34:37Speaker 12: stay until they're ripe. The farmer picks it when it's
- 34:39Speaker 12: fully developed and it has more nutritional value to it. So,
- 34:43Speaker 12: you know, small things like that, you know, and it's
- 34:46Speaker 12: educating yourself too, you know, like where you get your
- 34:48Speaker 12: stuff from is important, So I don't know, that's if
- 34:53Speaker 12: I would start with small goals, you know, just educating
- 34:56Speaker 12: yourself on where to find the healthiest foods because you're
- 35:00Speaker 12: you know, you took the words out of my mouth.
- 35:02Speaker 12: It's an expensive turn man. Food is expensive, brother, you know,
- 35:06Speaker 12: Like I could go on all day rant and rave
- 35:09Speaker 12: about how you know, like fast food is one of
- 35:11Speaker 12: those things do like you can eliminate fast food from
- 35:14Speaker 12: your diet. And I think it too is it's how
- 35:17Speaker 12: you shop, right, like the way they design grocery stores
- 35:22Speaker 12: that's meant to hold you in place and sell you
- 35:25Speaker 12: things that you don't want right, And there's actually a
- 35:28Speaker 12: psychology to the grocery store that you're supposed to only
- 35:31Speaker 12: shop outside of the grocery store, whether fruits and vegetables
- 35:33Speaker 12: and fresh meats are and don't get sucked into the
- 35:36Speaker 12: middle of the grocery store where all these sweets and
- 35:39Speaker 12: sugars and all that stuff is.
- 35:41Speaker 6: But they're so shiny and they look so delicious.
- 35:45Speaker 12: Great, yeah, yeah, chef.
- 35:46Speaker 6: So you're you're cooking for athletes every single day, multiple
- 35:50Speaker 6: a lot of people, a lot of people that want
- 35:52Speaker 6: to take care of their body. So you're cooking good,
- 35:54Speaker 6: clean food all the time. But when an athlete comes
- 35:57Speaker 6: lu sure, they're adults and they can make their own
- 36:01Speaker 6: choices as well. When it comes to the types of food,
- 36:04Speaker 6: Like how many different diet fads have you had to
- 36:08Speaker 6: individualize or make like a keto carnivore?
- 36:11Speaker 8: What are mos? Like you've done everything?
- 36:14Speaker 6: Does it have to be like approved by the dietitian
- 36:16Speaker 6: or they're adults, they can just decide to do that.
- 36:19Speaker 12: Well, it's definitely something that the dietitians struggle with, you know,
- 36:22Speaker 12: because it is and there's there's a thousand of them
- 36:25Speaker 12: out there, and you know, the more time you spend
- 36:27Speaker 12: on social media, the more that that show up, right,
- 36:30Speaker 12: And so yes, they they deal with it more than
- 36:34Speaker 12: I do. We our job is the food science side
- 36:37Speaker 12: of things to make sure that the food is healthy
- 36:39Speaker 12: and prepared and ready and and and has lots of
- 36:42Speaker 12: options for them because you have different types of food
- 36:44Speaker 12: types to the dietitians that really face the brunts of that,
- 36:49Speaker 12: the fads of trying to convince them. But you know,
- 36:52Speaker 12: eighteen to twenty five year old mind is impressionable, but
- 36:55Speaker 12: oftentimes also is set in its own ways, right, And
- 36:59Speaker 12: so it is really about an education being, you know,
- 37:02Speaker 12: if they are student athletes, not just athletes, and so
- 37:06Speaker 12: we are trying to teach them, you know. And there
- 37:10Speaker 12: are very open minded human beings and there are narrow
- 37:13Speaker 12: minded human beings, and that doesn't you know, and that's
- 37:16Speaker 12: just the breath of the world, not just in the
- 37:18Speaker 12: student athlete world, but that percentage also moves into student athletes, right.
- 37:22Speaker 12: So we have some that come in that have food jags.
- 37:26Speaker 12: We have some that come in that are you know,
- 37:30Speaker 12: mom and dad fed them anything they wanted to. And
- 37:33Speaker 12: then there's kids where mom and dad fed them only
- 37:36Speaker 12: what they wanted, right, And the ones that have only
- 37:40Speaker 12: been fed what they want tend to be a little
- 37:42Speaker 12: bit more particular about what they're eating, not necessarily in
- 37:46Speaker 12: a good way. So there's when you're dealing with human beings. Brother,
- 37:52Speaker 12: you know, like you never know what you're going to get.
- 37:54Speaker 12: So it's most certainly the most rewarding side of the job,
- 37:58Speaker 12: and it's also the most challenging side of the job.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Okay, what's the most eye rolling diet fad out there
- 38:03Speaker 6: that you've got to cook for?
- 38:05Speaker 1: Oh?
- 38:05Speaker 12: Man, I don't know, you know, like I think they
- 38:08Speaker 12: all make they I mean they do. The keto diet
- 38:12Speaker 12: doesn't make sense to me at all because ultimately, if
- 38:14Speaker 12: you put putting your body into kytosis and you you know,
- 38:17Speaker 12: like there is a negative reaction to that, and it's
- 38:19Speaker 12: going to rebound as a matter of fact, you know,
- 38:22Speaker 12: like most of those bad diets, there's going to be
- 38:24Speaker 12: a rebound if it you know, you know, if at
- 38:27Speaker 12: some point you know it's a diet should be a
- 38:31Speaker 12: way of life, not a not a short term goal, right,
- 38:34Speaker 12: and and if you're looking at it from a short
- 38:37Speaker 12: term perspective, you know, and when I say short term,
- 38:40Speaker 12: even a few months, you know, like if you stop
- 38:42Speaker 12: doing that, if you start to stop that altering of
- 38:46Speaker 12: your lifestyle and go back to the way that you
- 38:47Speaker 12: were eating, there is a rebound effect. And you know,
- 38:52Speaker 12: whether it's a twenty one day fast or a six
- 38:55Speaker 12: month diet, you know, if you don't maintain it, it's
- 38:58Speaker 12: there is going to be a rebound and oft times
- 39:00Speaker 12: you find an even greater gain of weight. So you know,
- 39:04Speaker 12: you really do have to focus on changing your lifestyle
- 39:06Speaker 12: and making good decisions. And that's where the education side
- 39:10Speaker 12: of it is, and it's a difficult, it can be
- 39:12Speaker 12: a difficult go.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Chef.
- 39:16Speaker 5: I do want to go back to my first question
- 39:18Speaker 5: because you mentioned, like you know what some stores will
- 39:21Speaker 5: do and what they'll put on their products to make
- 39:24Speaker 5: them look like they're fresh, and you mentioned kind of
- 39:26Speaker 5: some different options for our listeners and for me as well,
- 39:29Speaker 5: like here in the Baton Rouge area, like where is
- 39:33Speaker 5: somewhere maybe that is convenient to do what you're talking
- 39:35Speaker 5: about in shop local make sure you're getting the right stuff.
- 39:38Speaker 12: Yeah, you know, they have the bread of redstick Fire
- 39:42Speaker 12: farmers Market downtown on Saturdays and then they have it
- 39:45Speaker 12: on Thursdays at Pennington And I've been it a dozen times,
- 39:50Speaker 12: and there's some great food there. You can buy local meats,
- 39:53Speaker 12: you can buy really good foods. You can buy you know,
- 39:56Speaker 12: herbs and spices and stuff. But you know, I'm I
- 40:00Speaker 12: mean even knowing the difference between grocery stores, and I
- 40:03Speaker 12: don't really want to call out any grocery stores, but
- 40:06Speaker 12: I would say the local grocery stores are going to
- 40:08Speaker 12: have more local foods for you than the bigger name
- 40:12Speaker 12: chains that that don't know haven't said that. You know,
- 40:15Speaker 12: there's the whole Foods of the world. That is what
- 40:18Speaker 12: it is exactly that it's organic and whole foods, but
- 40:22Speaker 12: it's also expensive, you know, like I can't afford to
- 40:25Speaker 12: get it whole foods, you know. So yeah, I really
- 40:31Speaker 12: love the farmers markets. You can go down there. You're
- 40:33Speaker 12: walking around and just you know, enjoying the people who
- 40:36Speaker 12: are there. You're building relationships while you're there. You know,
- 40:39Speaker 12: you're you're talking to the person who's growing it so
- 40:42Speaker 12: you can get information about it. You know, those are
- 40:44Speaker 12: things that you that are lacking when you walk into
- 40:47Speaker 12: the big box companies of the world and you know
- 40:51Speaker 12: you're there's nobody around to talk to about about the food.
- 40:55Speaker 12: So That is one of the things about whole foods
- 40:58Speaker 12: I do enjoy is you can always find somebody talk
- 41:00Speaker 12: about what the food is that you're purchasing, whatever it is,
- 41:03Speaker 12: and they can give you information about it.
- 41:06Speaker 4: All right.
- 41:06Speaker 5: There, he is Chef Michael Johnson good enough to join
- 41:09Speaker 5: us every single week here on O t B Chef.
- 41:11Speaker 4: We always appreciate it and we always look forward to
- 41:14Speaker 4: next week.
- 41:15Speaker 12: Thanks guys.
- 41:18Speaker 8: Yeah, like I'm.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Trying to eat healthy out here. Like make it make
- 41:21Speaker 4: it more affordable maybe, yeah, well, you know, make it.
- 41:27Speaker 8: Money, make it make it easier too.
- 41:30Speaker 6: It's cheaper because you can process it a lot of longer,
- 41:35Speaker 6: I know.
- 41:36Speaker 5: But like they wonder why people don't do it because
- 41:40Speaker 5: it's not easy.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Look, you gotta.
- 41:45Speaker 8: Get his way to do it.
- 41:46Speaker 4: But people out there balling on a budget.
- 41:50Speaker 8: It's organic thing. That's that's a tough one.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I wroll organic, just really organic.
- 41:57Speaker 6: Yeah, like a lot a lot of times, the food
- 42:00Speaker 6: industry makes up a lot of buzz words.
- 42:01Speaker 8: Yeah they do.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Been to those food shows where the scientists are there
- 42:04Speaker 6: that make up those words.
- 42:05Speaker 5: That's right, all right, We got to take a break
- 42:07Speaker 5: more OTB to wrap it up. When we come back
