- 0:10Speaker 1: this sport.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Scare me.
- 0:12Speaker 1: When he started singing, well you guys never seen looking
- 0:14Speaker 1: at me my eyes, I didn't like it. Come on, guys,
- 0:16Speaker 1: here we go from the top three to go.
- 0:22Speaker 2: This is a.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Podcast called twenty five where still talking.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Whistle Yeah, it's stupid.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Oh what did you expect?
- 0:32Speaker 3: It's a podcast call twenty five.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Whistleswy five Whistles.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Thank you everybody that was weird.
- 0:42Speaker 3: We got it though.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I just got a text from the University of Oklahoma.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Oh and let me say this. I am not a
- 0:50Speaker 1: Sooner fan, but I'm also not near the Sooner hater.
- 0:53Speaker 2: As I used to be.
- 0:54Speaker 3: That's part of your family now.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Absolutely I root for OU softball to beat everybody except Arkansas.
- 1:01Speaker 1: My wife is diehard Sooner fan. Families diehard Sooner fans.
- 1:05Speaker 1: My wife and I've made a deal. We don't have
- 1:07Speaker 1: to wear each other's clothes as far as she doesn't
- 1:09Speaker 1: want Kansas stuff to Kansas games, but we don't wear
- 1:11Speaker 1: the opposite team and we don't go and root against
- 1:15Speaker 1: I just got a message, good morning.
- 1:18Speaker 2: This is.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Coach Venables. Blah blah blah. University Oklahoma. I'm not gonna
- 1:23Speaker 1: say position. Would you be interested in prof that's not
- 1:28Speaker 1: coach though it's not, but it's somebody works for it.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Would you be interested in providing some expert insight for
- 1:32Speaker 1: us as we transition into the SEC. As we look
- 1:35Speaker 1: across the SEC landscape, most schools have an anthem and
- 1:37Speaker 1: a following by several country music music artists. We need this.
- 1:40Speaker 1: The loss of Toby Keith has left a potential void
- 1:43Speaker 1: we need to fill. We also want you and your
- 1:45Speaker 1: wife to be part of our football program, to get
- 1:46Speaker 1: to know our coaches and staff. That's the end of
- 1:49Speaker 1: the text. Huh, so I wrote, hey man, thanks for
- 1:52Speaker 1: reaching out. Is this a mass text?
- 1:55Speaker 3: That's a fair question.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, It's like I want to know if he was
- 1:59Speaker 1: really sending it to me. Yeah, because if so, I
- 2:01Speaker 1: think my in laws would like love good seats to
- 2:04Speaker 1: the football game.
- 2:04Speaker 4: So what are they looking for there? Are they looking
- 2:06Speaker 4: for you to come help them be the.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Face of No?
- 2:12Speaker 4: I won't be the face of it right right right,
- 2:13Speaker 4: But I'm saying, what are they looking for or are
- 2:15Speaker 4: they asking for your help to find them another face
- 2:18Speaker 4: for football?
- 2:19Speaker 2: I don't know?
- 2:21Speaker 1: And do you think this is a text they sent
- 2:22Speaker 1: to like fifty people, and then at the end they
- 2:23Speaker 1: just added, we also want you and your wife to
- 2:25Speaker 1: be part of the program.
- 2:26Speaker 3: That's personalized. So right, I feel like that's for you, man.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But that part maybe they have to know obviously, how
- 2:32Speaker 1: do they get my number?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Even?
- 2:34Speaker 5: Is it a green or a blue text?
- 2:36Speaker 1: It's a great text. Oh that means official.
- 2:41Speaker 2: No, it doesn't mean it's official.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I don't know what that means.
- 2:44Speaker 2: So I just applied back as a mass text. I
- 2:46Speaker 2: don't know.
- 2:49Speaker 4: That's still really cool, though, dude, Like I don't get
- 2:51Speaker 4: text like that. You realize that, like Kevin, do you
- 2:53Speaker 4: get text like that?
- 2:54Speaker 2: Never?
- 2:54Speaker 1: No, No, they should know though that I'm really not
- 3:00Speaker 1: gonna jump in like neck deep and O you.
- 3:04Speaker 4: But I think they may just want your help because
- 3:07Speaker 4: because if it was just for you, they would have
- 3:10Speaker 4: been like, hey, we want you and your wife to
- 3:11Speaker 4: be part of our family.
- 3:12Speaker 1: You know, I hear you. But why would even help them?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Or if I give them like a fake artist, you
- 3:16Speaker 1: should try Jonathan Montgomery my favorite artist. Here's his number,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and then it's it's my other number. And I answered
- 3:21Speaker 1: Jonathan Montgomery hell of an artist, And I totally walk
- 3:24Speaker 1: him down, terrible trup, how did you get my number?
- 3:26Speaker 1: And I show up dressing a cowboy and I'm like,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm a performer concert for you guys, and
- 3:30Speaker 1: I'm like pixel and I started talking the hogs and
- 3:33Speaker 1: they're like, oh, we just got God by Jonathan Montgomery.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's the greatest country getter in the land. Because I
- 3:40Speaker 1: do something like that, you would yea, yeah, that's pretty cool.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Though.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Man.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I did reply to some mass text and I've heard
- 3:45Speaker 1: nothing back since, but I just got it.
- 3:48Speaker 2: It's very long, so.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Okay, boom, there's that. If I get a text from that,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I'll let you guys know. The show goes on. Let's
- 3:56Speaker 1: get over to the tittle tattle with Kevin.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Here we go stupid his name ever The tone.
- 4:07Speaker 6: After Caleb Williams was named the Bears starting QB this
- 4:10Speaker 6: past weekend. Do you think the Bears jumped the gun
- 4:12Speaker 6: a little bit?
- 4:12Speaker 2: No, not at all.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It's only got to be Caleb Williams number one pick.
- 4:15Speaker 2: They don't have anybody good.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Uh they have uh, Brett Rippon, Austin Reid Tyson.
- 4:23Speaker 2: By get they get whatever. They don't have anybody.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think if they had a Kurt Warner or somebody
- 4:29Speaker 1: like when Eli went who was even a gar a
- 4:33Speaker 1: Minshoe something like that.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But they don't.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So it's Caleb all the way. They got all the
- 4:36Speaker 1: weapons for Caleb, the offensive lines, right, they're ready. I
- 4:40Speaker 1: hope our boy makes the team though Austin Reid Austin
- 4:42Speaker 1: read that'd be awesome.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there's our western Kentucky guy.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I have all this.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I have like signed gloves at the house from the
- 4:50Speaker 1: Bears quarterback. They gave us gloves. You know who else
- 4:54Speaker 1: makes the teams in Pittsburgh?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Are U c F buddy? Oh yeah?
- 4:58Speaker 5: Is the way that John.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Rece John Rice Plumbley?
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he signed as a free agent with
- 5:03Speaker 1: the Steelers, so he'd have to be third string if
- 5:06Speaker 1: he makes it, because Justin Fields is going to be second.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Plumbley hopefully makes third, but it's third. They also have
- 5:16Speaker 1: an emergency quarterback or is that the third spot? Gosh,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Usually they don't have a third.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Right know, they mostly have a third. I thought they
- 5:25Speaker 1: just even last year they allowed that third to be
- 5:28Speaker 1: the emergency quarterback. Though that can actually sign like day up.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Remember that because then old Belichick was cheating it and
- 5:37Speaker 1: he keep an extra player. Yeah, it's Kalla Williams all
- 5:40Speaker 1: the way, no doubt, no doubt, it's Kalla Willihams. Anything
- 5:42Speaker 1: else would be nuts and it would be a ton
- 5:45Speaker 1: of weird pressure to be one of these other guys
- 5:47Speaker 1: who have no history really in the NFL of success
- 5:50Speaker 1: to be the starting quarterback over him. So yeah, all good,
- 5:53Speaker 1: But in Washington you're probably going to have a rookie start.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Jaydan Daniels probably gonna start over there. I don't I
- 6:03Speaker 1: bet Drake May doesn't start in New England. I wouldn't
- 6:06Speaker 1: start him, not reading the reports about what he needs
- 6:08Speaker 1: to do, how much he needs to learn.
- 6:10Speaker 2: But rookie quarterbacks can also win.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I mean, I think in Denver they were going nuts
- 6:17Speaker 1: about how good Knicks is in Denver.
- 6:19Speaker 2: But he's not doing anything.
- 6:20Speaker 1: He's just throwing too receivers in shorts and T shirts
- 6:22Speaker 1: means nothing. Right now.
- 6:24Speaker 5: It's fun to talk about, but the.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Fact that the team is saying how good he is?
- 6:30Speaker 5: What are they saying?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Well, is they're not saying Drake May's good. They're like,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Drake Maid's a lot of work.
- 6:34Speaker 3: You're right, though, They're not going to say how bad
- 6:36Speaker 3: he is.
- 6:36Speaker 1: But they're saying about Drake May. They're like, Drake May
- 6:38Speaker 1: needs a lot of work with bow Knicks. They're talking
- 6:40Speaker 1: about how accurate he is all the time. Like you
- 6:43Speaker 1: could just say nothing if you didn't feel like that
- 6:46Speaker 1: was the guy anyway, That's okay, all right?
- 6:49Speaker 6: Leads us to number two. Actually, then from five to one,
- 6:51Speaker 6: five being most likely. Where would you drink the next
- 6:53Speaker 6: quarterback drafted in the first round this year? In starting
- 6:56Speaker 6: likelihood of starting week one?
- 6:57Speaker 1: I mean, I think Jayden and Daniels could actually win
- 7:01Speaker 1: Rookie of the Year. Him or Caleb Williams obviously the favorites,
- 7:04Speaker 1: because the're probably gonna be two starting quarterbacks. Pennocks probably
- 7:10Speaker 1: gonna play. I mean, I can't see him playing unless
- 7:16Speaker 1: for some reason that that achilles isn't healed up. Not
- 7:21Speaker 1: from him but fun Kirk Cousins, but probably Jayden, Daniels,
- 7:27Speaker 1: JJ McCarthy, Drake May in that order after Caleb. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: guess bo Nicks, but I never expected him to be good.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I'll read that one Internet that one thing. Yeah, So
- 7:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Jade and Daniels. Then I'm gonna go
- 7:39Speaker 1: JJ McCarthy. Then I'll go Drake may Bo Necks and
- 7:43Speaker 1: only Michael Pennox at five because he's probably not going
- 7:46Speaker 1: to get to play man if you play him preseason
- 7:49Speaker 1: and he's awesome.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Oh, that's just not good.
- 7:53Speaker 7: I know.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Back to Washington days, I know, all right.
- 7:56Speaker 6: Next up, after the Pistons had the worst record in
- 7:58Speaker 6: back to back seasons and ended up with a fifth
- 8:00Speaker 6: overall pick in both drafts, do you think the NBA
- 8:02Speaker 6: should change with their draft rules.
- 8:05Speaker 1: They changed it initially to keep people from tanking. I
- 8:07Speaker 1: thought it was good. I think it's abnormal that the
- 8:14Speaker 1: worst team gets screwed this hard twice in a row. However,
- 8:17Speaker 1: what a terrible draft. Didn't even watch the Draft show.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Could have could have watched Pink bomb Balls come up.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Chose not to because I don't know any of the players.
- 8:25Speaker 1: This is not just what the Riders are saying where
- 8:29Speaker 1: they say it's the worst draft in the past twenty
- 8:32Speaker 1: five years. I don't know any of the players. Yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 1: I know Dalton connect who played for Tennessee. I know
- 8:37Speaker 1: a couple of the Kentucky guys, but they didn't win much.
- 8:40Speaker 1: There's a couple Yukon guys, but only know them as
- 8:42Speaker 1: Yukon guys, no real star power in this draft that's
- 8:46Speaker 1: gonna get me to a television. Not saying they're not
- 8:48Speaker 1: going to be good pros at some point. I mean
- 8:50Speaker 1: the number one pick, which is like minus three hundred
- 8:53Speaker 1: on DraftKings. He's playing in France. He played two years
- 8:57Speaker 1: G League and then one year in France. So really,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I don't care. If you're asking me on a year
- 9:02Speaker 1: of like Zion or Wimby, I probably have more of
- 9:05Speaker 1: an opinion, but man, I am so uninterested because I
- 9:08Speaker 1: guess I'm not in the weeds deep enough to know
- 9:09Speaker 1: who these guys even are. But I do think that
- 9:14Speaker 1: the Pistons did not have a favorable ball bounce their way.
- 9:19Speaker 1: But I don't think this is normal, and they're probably
- 9:22Speaker 1: like okay, And if I were a GM, I would
- 9:23Speaker 1: not want the number one pick because if you get
- 9:25Speaker 1: the number one pick and it sucks and you suck
- 9:27Speaker 1: and it's a flop, your jobs on the line.
- 9:29Speaker 6: I feel like most NBA guys like five through fifteen
- 9:32Speaker 6: are better than usually the number one guy.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I don't think that at all, actually.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But this is me, but I guess it's cool.
- 9:40Speaker 6: Last one after both teams were up two ozho. Now
- 9:42Speaker 6: it's tied to to two in the series. Which fan
- 9:44Speaker 6: base should be more concerned, the t Wolves or the Knicks.
- 9:47Speaker 1: The Knicks are losing players one after the other, and
- 9:50Speaker 1: they're all having to play forty eight minutes. I mean,
- 9:52Speaker 1: the Knicks are going hard, and they play hard, but
- 9:55Speaker 1: they have two players. They have two players already not
- 9:57Speaker 1: playing at all out for the whole series. But a
- 10:00Speaker 1: lot of these guys are getting hurt and not able
- 10:02Speaker 1: to finish the game. The Knicks, by Attrician, are probably
- 10:07Speaker 1: gonna struggle. If not this, they will lose the next round,
- 10:09Speaker 1: probably to Boston h for sure. I mean I kind
- 10:14Speaker 1: of like to see the I mean, I bet them.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you. After I told you guys
- 10:18Speaker 1: last episode that I was gonna bet the Nuggets did it?
- 10:21Speaker 1: They were down Yeah, they were down two, and you're
- 10:23Speaker 1: like which team? And I was like the Nuggets?
- 10:25Speaker 3: Why would you go against my future man?
- 10:26Speaker 1: And so I bet one hundred bucks and then to
- 10:27Speaker 1: win the series, dude, And if they win the series,
- 10:30Speaker 1: it's seventeen hundred dollars and my payout right now, if
- 10:33Speaker 1: I were to just cash out is like three hundred
- 10:35Speaker 1: to bet one hundred for three.
- 10:36Speaker 6: Hundred letter ride that championship mindset is. I know it's
- 10:42Speaker 6: a cliche, but it's a thing with them.
- 10:44Speaker 1: If I were the Timberwolves, I'd be more worried than
- 10:47Speaker 1: the Knicks. The nick can worry all they want, it's
- 10:49Speaker 1: not going to bring any players back. I still think
- 10:53Speaker 1: the Knicks beat the Pacers in this series, which is
- 10:56Speaker 1: really cool.
- 10:57Speaker 3: But man, I killed him by like what thirty.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Point Twomber wasn't in the Blues in this thing up
- 11:04Speaker 1: two oh going back to Minnesota and they lost the
- 11:07Speaker 1: next two back at that.
- 11:09Speaker 3: That's why it won't happen.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Timberwolves both need to worry.
- 11:15Speaker 3: How much mony did you put in there?
- 11:16Speaker 2: One hundred?
- 11:17Speaker 3: Nice? I only put twenty five.
- 11:19Speaker 1: What's it pay though?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Three hundred?
- 11:20Speaker 2: Good?
- 11:22Speaker 3: Well, it's not looking good now, but.
- 11:23Speaker 1: We'll see what's looking even. Yeah, we'll see who would
- 11:26Speaker 1: you bet to win the series? Right now?
- 11:27Speaker 3: To tost the series? I stopped timber Wolves.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Timber Wolves over over over Denver right now. They said,
- 11:33Speaker 1: here's five hundred bucks to bet a you're taking Minnesota Denver.
- 11:36Speaker 4: I'm taking timber Wolves Minnesota. Yes, I believe in Anthony
- 11:40Speaker 4: Edwards he is the next Michael Jordan, better than Joki.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Yes, one percent.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Well, you're on the ride it because it's hot.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I'm telling you there, I'm telling score over.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He did score forty last night. Nobody, nobody helped anything.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, that's that's the problem.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Aaron Gordon shot lights out. Yeah, I don't know the stab,
- 11:59Speaker 1: but he was like six team for seventeen or sixteen
- 12:01Speaker 1: for eighteen, and mostly these teams haven't been guarding him
- 12:03Speaker 1: during the playoffs, like leave Gordon open because he normally
- 12:06Speaker 1: does not shoot well and he just plays defense for
- 12:08Speaker 1: the most Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 4: But what I hate about Denver is like, then Jamal
- 12:12Speaker 4: Murray has a terrible game, don't worry, He'll come back
- 12:14Speaker 4: and score for forty.
- 12:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 12:15Speaker 4: It's like always, it's always that they just take turns,
- 12:18Speaker 4: somebody's they have a great night. With the Timberwolves. It's
- 12:20Speaker 4: always at Edwards. Yeah, maybe towns he'll hit like four
- 12:26Speaker 4: threes or something.
- 12:26Speaker 1: But probably the town's annoys me. Yeah, even if he's
- 12:29Speaker 1: playing hard, he looks like he's lazy. Yeah. But yes,
- 12:32Speaker 1: with Denver, whenever he hit that, uh it was he
- 12:37Speaker 1: fully to half court right at.
- 12:38Speaker 3: The Jamal Murray yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I was like, oh, yeah, it's over, this is done.
- 12:43Speaker 1: But they lost the first two and they dominated the
- 12:45Speaker 1: second two.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Yeah, but then we're going on the road. They'll win
- 12:48Speaker 3: the road games because everyone's gonna win road games.
- 12:50Speaker 1: But you're only saying that because you need that to happen.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Point correct, No bias.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Any word on porzingis no, no, I know he's out tonight.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Any chance he comes back at all, Not in this
- 13:02Speaker 1: series at all.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah. If they make it to the finals, to the NBA.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Finals, yes, they probably will, not the Eastern Finals final,
- 13:10Speaker 1: NBA Final.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Yeah, if they want to compete with yeah, Denver or Minnesota, whoever,
- 13:15Speaker 6: maybe they need him.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So they're gonna play the winner of the Next and Pacers.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I think they could easily handle either one of those teams,
- 13:21Speaker 1: either of them. Yeah, next and I have three players left? Serious,
- 13:24Speaker 1: But do they need anyone else?
- 13:26Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, forty eight minutes. He's just like that matter to me,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm playing all forty eight anyway he does. He plays
- 13:34Speaker 1: the whole game. It's crazy, whole game. That's tilltital Thank you. Then,
- 13:50Speaker 1: so they finally announced the first NFL game. The Chiefs
- 13:53Speaker 1: are going to host the Ravens.
- 13:55Speaker 2: That'd be fun.
- 13:56Speaker 1: The problem is if Lamar loses again in game one
- 14:01Speaker 1: the whole season, he's chasing the ghost just even this season.
- 14:05Speaker 1: It will be a good game though. But Detroit beat
- 14:07Speaker 1: ken City last season yeh in Week one. Now they
- 14:10Speaker 1: didn't have Kelsey because Kelsey was out hurt. I know
- 14:14Speaker 1: this for fantasy reasons.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I forgot about that.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Is he really?
- 14:16Speaker 5: I don't even remember.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the Chiefs opponent will be the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday,
- 14:22Speaker 1: September fifth. So for the first game, it'll be the
- 14:26Speaker 1: AFC Championship game, which Kansa City won seventeen to ten.
- 14:30Speaker 1: And I believe they won that in Baltimore, right, m hm.
- 14:34Speaker 1: This will be the third time in five years the
- 14:36Speaker 1: Chiefs will be playing in the NFL season opener. The
- 14:38Speaker 1: NFL already announced last month the Packers and Eagles will
- 14:40Speaker 1: play in Brazil. That game be in South America.
- 14:42Speaker 2: You guys don't go to that one.
- 14:43Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no playoff schedule. So we're recording
- 14:48Speaker 1: this on Monday. It'll go This episode will go up today.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But tonight the Celtics at the Cavs. Boston's a nine
- 14:54Speaker 1: and a half point favorite and Oklahoma City at Dallas Dallas.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Dallas is a one and a half point five. At
- 15:00Speaker 1: least these games are on TNT through TV and not
- 15:03Speaker 1: just NBA TV.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Have you seen the talk about how the contracts might
- 15:07Speaker 6: not get renewed for Barkley and all them?
- 15:09Speaker 1: And I saw where I think Ernie said he would stay,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but Barkley said he would not. He'd probably go where
- 15:16Speaker 1: the NBA was, right, Yeah, I feel like that's what
- 15:18Speaker 1: I know.
- 15:19Speaker 5: I know for sure Ernie said he would stay.
- 15:20Speaker 1: What do you mean he'd go where the NBA was.
- 15:22Speaker 1: What do you mean by that? If they don't have
- 15:25Speaker 1: NBA games, all they can do is sit in the
- 15:27Speaker 1: room and talk about the NBA and they can only
- 15:30Speaker 1: show so much footage where Barkley wants to be a
- 15:33Speaker 1: part of what the NBA is doing.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Is that because TNT is like stepping away?
- 15:37Speaker 1: Or well they may lose a contract, Yeah, gotcha, lose
- 15:40Speaker 1: the rights to it. Hey, that costs money.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Man, you just need to air for free.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I didn't know that for many years.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Hey, you don't need to air for Freeman.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I love their chemistry.
- 15:48Speaker 1: It's just the best, the best free game, middle game,
- 15:51Speaker 1: post game on television, like what else compares at this point,
- 15:56Speaker 1: nobody watches baseball just generally. I mean, baseball is a
- 15:59Speaker 1: very local sport, meaning you need to have a team
- 16:02Speaker 1: for your city to care about it. Like generally people
- 16:05Speaker 1: don't care about baseball they don't have a team in
- 16:06Speaker 1: their city.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Yeah, game day College game day is kind of complete comparable,
- 16:11Speaker 4: good one because it's the same banter.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Do you care about what NFL group it is? Are
- 16:16Speaker 1: they all about the same to you?
- 16:17Speaker 5: NFL network to me is the best by far.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Riche eysend, Michael Irvin, Kurt Warner because Irvin is hilarious,
- 16:24Speaker 6: which actually he's leaving now too.
- 16:26Speaker 5: So Irvin got fired, well then he came back.
- 16:28Speaker 6: He didn't get fired, he got you know, he was
- 16:30Speaker 6: dealing with some legal stuff and then it came out
- 16:32Speaker 6: of the false and then he came back last year.
- 16:34Speaker 1: No, no he can't. He got fired this year.
- 16:35Speaker 6: This year he got fired. I thought he just left
- 16:38Speaker 6: where they had a disagreement.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Maybe I just interpreted it as he got fired, but
- 16:43Speaker 1: Irvin left again.
- 16:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Alucci and all those guys like the.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Fox Pretty game, I think though, Yeah, with Jimmy Johnson
- 16:50Speaker 4: and Reha I like that too.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I think that's my favorite one of Ball and Glazier,
- 16:55Speaker 1: Jay Jay Glazier, that's my favorite Your weekend, buddy.
- 17:00Speaker 2: It was really good.
- 17:01Speaker 8: It was peaceful except for graduation. Mattie's sister graduated law school,
- 17:07Speaker 8: and I just what's wrong with that? Graduations? Man?
- 17:11Speaker 1: I just don't like sitting through them. Oh but I
- 17:13Speaker 1: think it was the school.
- 17:15Speaker 8: It was about an hour and a half, so it
- 17:17Speaker 8: wasn't It wasn't too bad, but they had like probably
- 17:21Speaker 8: one hundred and twenty graduates.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You just get so annoyed when they say everybody's name.
- 17:26Speaker 2: You just wish it was her name.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah, man, I'm just like drive, Yeah, yeah, I drove.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Where was there her school?
- 17:31Speaker 1: So it's uh, she went to the University of Memphis Law.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Oh that's not far. Yeah, No, it wasn't far.
- 17:37Speaker 3: That's where you saw a little Dickey.
- 17:39Speaker 1: That's right, a little Dicky there. Yeah, check's best concert
- 17:41Speaker 1: he's ever been here? A little Dicky check for He
- 17:44Speaker 1: wasn't playing, but didn't ask anybody, No, man, no.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Who did the commencement speak?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Little Dickie? Incredibly, I have no idea. I don't know
- 17:53Speaker 1: these dudes.
- 17:55Speaker 4: You don't even know, but it wasn't famous, No, no,
- 17:58Speaker 4: was it inspiring whatever?
- 17:59Speaker 3: They said, Oh no.
- 18:02Speaker 8: Because one of the dudes was super inspired by the
- 18:05Speaker 8: Tom Brady roast, So it was just kind of it
- 18:08Speaker 8: just kind of felt weird.
- 18:09Speaker 3: He roasted.
- 18:10Speaker 8: He was just roasting like teachers and stuff, and it
- 18:12Speaker 8: was all inside jokes that like nobody knew other than
- 18:14Speaker 8: the studio.
- 18:16Speaker 1: So and you could just see the dean's face just
- 18:19Speaker 1: like get him off the stage. How do you know
- 18:21Speaker 1: he was inspired by the tom Brady roast.
- 18:23Speaker 8: Because uh, one of Maddy's sister's friends was the one
- 18:27Speaker 8: that did it and said he got.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Inspired by that, one of Maddy's sisters.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, So what did you do after graduation? It's good, so.
- 18:38Speaker 8: Artie, Yeah, dude, no, we we went out to eat dinner.
- 18:42Speaker 8: And where did we go eat?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Mick Ewan's in Memphis, but a little Dicky goes there.
- 18:49Speaker 8: It was really good, but we like, I didn't eat
- 18:52Speaker 8: anything that whole day. Me and Maddie both didn't get
- 18:55Speaker 8: to eat anything, so we were starving by the time
- 18:58Speaker 8: dinner rolled around. But we had some food and then
- 19:00Speaker 8: we were thinking about going out, but instead we just
- 19:02Speaker 8: blew up the blood mattress and went to sleep.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You blow up the blood mattress? Is that like an
- 19:08Speaker 1: euphimism for getting on? No? No, we actually stayed in
- 19:11Speaker 1: a blood mattress.
- 19:11Speaker 3: No, but you did. You made the face like, yeah, it's.
- 19:14Speaker 8: Making you think that, But no, we don't do that.
- 19:17Speaker 3: That's right, Yeah, man, they don't do that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Got one year? Is that right? Yeah?
- 19:23Speaker 5: Man?
- 19:25Speaker 2: Wow? Come all of.
- 19:28Speaker 1: A sudden, after they do, he's got like a beer
- 19:32Speaker 1: like he's twelve years old.
- 19:33Speaker 3: He no longer talks like read.
- 19:34Speaker 2: He wears a pat.
- 19:37Speaker 1: What's up?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Cigarettes? Change change?
- 19:43Speaker 1: It does?
- 19:43Speaker 3: Are you ready for that? Read?
- 19:44Speaker 1: Oh dude, I've been ready. It changes you, buddy?
- 19:47Speaker 3: Do you know what to do?
- 19:49Speaker 1: I mean, it's not like we haven't just we don't anymore.
- 19:52Speaker 2: We haven't in a long time. I didn't stopped.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I'm not a virgin.
- 19:56Speaker 3: I don't know. We don't know.
- 19:59Speaker 1: I thought you were. I made mistakes.
- 20:03Speaker 3: So what happened?
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so what happened?
- 20:08Speaker 3: You started to and then no more.
- 20:10Speaker 1: You don't have to say that. Don't don't say I mean,
- 20:13Speaker 1: leave that off.
- 20:13Speaker 2: That's not that's our business.
- 20:15Speaker 1: You know, we were younger, you know, we didn't know
- 20:17Speaker 1: what we were doing. Well, I'm rooting for you, buddy. I
- 20:22Speaker 1: thought it was gonna happen there, but I'm rooting for you.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Thank you. Any anything from the weekend happened, Eddie? Uh yeah, yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: I know.
- 20:30Speaker 4: We had a basketball tournament, dude, it was it was no, no, no,
- 20:33Speaker 4: we have maybe one more weeks of this.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I thought we were done a long time. We were
- 20:37Speaker 2: done for like two weeks ago.
- 20:38Speaker 4: I thought so too, But apparently we have two more
- 20:40Speaker 4: maybe two more tournaments, and we just had a try
- 20:43Speaker 4: out for another team.
- 20:44Speaker 3: So when this is over, you're.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Going to say more of this, Yes, but this is
- 20:47Speaker 4: this is local and that his buddies are on this
- 20:50Speaker 4: and they only have like four or five tournaments a year.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Go Kevin.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I went to Steeplechase for the first time out here.
- 20:58Speaker 5: Have you ever been.
- 20:59Speaker 2: About tickets before?
- 21:00Speaker 1: But never never been, and I've been to where it
- 21:03Speaker 1: is when there's no horses there.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Yeah, it's cool like venue and it's beautiful and it's
- 21:07Speaker 6: a nice day, but very underwhelming.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Can you bet money?
- 21:10Speaker 6: No, that's why it's underwell, unless you're in like these
- 21:12Speaker 6: VIP tents I guess, which I never got into, but
- 21:15Speaker 6: people were telling us, oh, if you go in this tent,
- 21:16Speaker 6: then you can do it with like somebody that's in there.
- 21:19Speaker 6: There's no like window that you can go up to.
- 21:21Speaker 6: So I'm like, I'm watching this horse race that I
- 21:22Speaker 6: really don't care about.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Why did then?
- 21:25Speaker 6: And then you get over it because there's just people
- 21:26Speaker 6: were going and it was just like a tailgate thing
- 21:29Speaker 6: and I was driving, so I wasn't really drinking.
- 21:31Speaker 5: And the girls every No, no, no, why win? There
- 21:35Speaker 5: were girls everywhere?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Huh did you go with a girl?
- 21:37Speaker 9: No?
- 21:37Speaker 5: I didn't go with a girl.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Did you find a girl there?
- 21:39Speaker 9: No?
- 21:40Speaker 2: I didn't with the girl.
- 21:41Speaker 5: I went with a group of people, and there were
- 21:42Speaker 5: there were girls everywhere. There were girls.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Ever.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Did you get dressed up like the way they do
- 21:46Speaker 3: with the horse place?
- 21:47Speaker 9: No?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Not really.
- 21:47Speaker 5: I mean a decent hat and like a polo.
- 21:51Speaker 3: But I mean, what do you mean people like.
- 21:52Speaker 5: We're in full on three piece suits there.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they dressed out.
- 21:55Speaker 5: There's no way I do that.
- 21:56Speaker 1: The ladies wear the big hat, big old dress. Do
- 21:58Speaker 1: they do that? It's people chase too? Yeah, Ay, you
- 22:01Speaker 1: want to talk about Kentucky Derby.
- 22:02Speaker 3: No, No, that's they do it' steeple chase.
- 22:03Speaker 5: No, they do I mean there are some.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Parody.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like the minor leagues of Kentucky Derby.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I got it.
- 22:10Speaker 4: That's weird. You can't bet there on horse racing. Why
- 22:13Speaker 4: else would you race horses.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I don't know that it's legal to have horse betting
- 22:19Speaker 1: on site. I don't know, because you can't bet anywhere
- 22:22Speaker 1: else on site. It's got to be on the phone.
- 22:24Speaker 3: And then you said you bought tickets but haven't gone yet.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I got sick last year two years ago.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Oh you were going to go.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yeah, we bought tickets to go and got sick. We
- 22:32Speaker 1: bought those tent tickets too. Oh we're gonna gamble that crazy.
- 22:35Speaker 6: If you have like a legit setup like that, then yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 6: I'd go again. But other than that, probably wouldn't.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I never been.
- 22:39Speaker 3: How do you get in on the race, like to
- 22:41Speaker 3: be a racer?
- 22:43Speaker 2: I don't know anything about it.
- 22:44Speaker 3: That'd be freaking cool, man.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I don't know. They have like alcohol and stuff.
- 22:47Speaker 6: Yeah, but you also you can bring your own, but like,
- 22:51Speaker 6: they don't have bars that are.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Open to the public either, though, I have to go
- 22:55Speaker 5: in a tent.
- 22:55Speaker 6: If to go in a tent to you lost a
- 22:56Speaker 6: bunch of money, which costs a bunch of money, or
- 22:58Speaker 6: you can bring your own alcohol.
- 22:59Speaker 3: This sounds weird.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Yeah, it was just not my thing.
- 23:02Speaker 2: How are the horses? Oh they were awesome.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Who won?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Uh Trouble Crown.
- 23:09Speaker 6: There's one guy named libers Fort, a guy named lib
- 23:12Speaker 6: a horse named libers Fort.
- 23:13Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 23:14Speaker 5: I think he got second.
- 23:16Speaker 6: I think in one of one did I watch, and
- 23:17Speaker 6: the one was like town something rather, I don't know
- 23:21Speaker 6: when you're not betting on it, like you're like, do
- 23:22Speaker 6: I really care?
- 23:23Speaker 2: No, you know.
- 23:25Speaker 1: My sports weekend was watching the playoff basketball, watch some softball.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Arkansas is playing in the regional this weekend, and they're
- 23:35Speaker 1: four parts because the first the regionals are four teams.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It's a double elimination tournament and if you win regionals,
- 23:41Speaker 1: you go to super Regionals against one team. So Regionals
- 23:44Speaker 1: the Arkansas region it's Arkansas, Arizona, Villanova, and I think
- 23:47Speaker 1: like Southeast Missouri State. So they start those games on Friday.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Our Oklahoma State team, the Arkansas's a twelve seed, like
- 23:56Speaker 1: twelve in the country. Oklahom States went to a five seed.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Florida State went to the ACC championship game this weekend
- 24:05Speaker 1: and lost to Duke. So they're playing I think they're
- 24:07Speaker 1: like a fifteen or sixteen or something like that. Do
- 24:10Speaker 1: you watch any of that game on my phone on ESPN?
- 24:14Speaker 1: Just watching the little square on the top. I did
- 24:16Speaker 1: watch a little bit, but by the time I turned
- 24:17Speaker 1: it on, they were down like three to one or something,
- 24:20Speaker 1: so I didn't watch a whole lot. But if Arkansas
- 24:23Speaker 1: wins the regional and Oklahoma State wins their regional, they'll
- 24:27Speaker 1: play each other in the super Regional.
- 24:30Speaker 3: It's gonna be a tough one. Man, who do you
- 24:31Speaker 3: root for?
- 24:32Speaker 2: What do you mean I root for Arkansas.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm just saying we went to too much access and
- 24:35Speaker 1: do we know?
- 24:37Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, very cool.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Yeah they were great.
- 24:40Speaker 1: But yeah, Texas went as number one, Oklahoma's number two.
- 24:43Speaker 2: First time that's happened forever.
- 24:45Speaker 1: That's because Texas beat Ou. Oh you beat Texas in
- 24:48Speaker 1: the championship game of the Big twelve Softball Championship.
- 24:53Speaker 2: But yeah, better better season. Texas got the one seed,
- 24:55Speaker 2: Oklahoma got the two seed.
- 24:57Speaker 1: But yeah, I called softball, and we're gonna we have
- 24:58Speaker 1: a couple of coaches coming up and then we'll we
- 25:00Speaker 1: done with all our softball coverage for the year. But
- 25:03Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe I'll go down and watch Arkansas
- 25:05Speaker 1: this weekend.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I have the ACMs on Wednesday afternoon is kind of
- 25:10Speaker 1: whenever rehearsal happens.
- 25:13Speaker 3: That's in Dallas.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and then Thursday night is the show that can
- 25:17Speaker 1: just fly up to Faittville and watch.
- 25:19Speaker 2: But then I just kind of want to get home.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Hey, can I give you some stuff to get signed? No,
- 25:23Speaker 4: because like the Cowboys show up to the ACMs, right, No,
- 25:25Speaker 4: I'm not taking anything with me to get.
- 25:27Speaker 3: A football, just a football carried around.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I did hang out with Dak last year.
- 25:31Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not carrying around TV interview.
- 25:35Speaker 2: What about a card?
- 25:37Speaker 4: Can we just take one car put in your back
- 25:38Speaker 4: pocket and see that you're like that, that's for my
- 25:40Speaker 4: buddy Eddie.
- 25:41Speaker 1: No, I'm good, though, Thank you though. I appreciate you
- 25:43Speaker 1: thinking of hey, to think of you.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Thank you for even thinking about it.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Welcome.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So we're gonna do Let's Mike go take a break
- 25:50Speaker 1: and go to the interview.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Let's do a break first. Okay, let's do a break.
- 25:55Speaker 1: A lot of times on the show. I'll just have
- 25:57Speaker 1: stuff to talk about and I'll sit at home make
- 25:59Speaker 1: notes of what I want to mention games that have
- 26:01Speaker 1: been played or ideas, but I want to blindly go
- 26:04Speaker 1: into subjects or topics that you guys bring. So all
- 26:07Speaker 1: three of you guys have been assigned to bring a topic.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Throw it at us. We're going to discuss it. No
- 26:12Speaker 1: prep needed, or we probably needed, but no prep done
- 26:17Speaker 1: because a lot of times too, I'll come to the
- 26:18Speaker 1: stuff with you know, I've had these thoughts. I'd like
- 26:19Speaker 1: to do a little research, no research, Let's do it.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Let's do our no research segment. Let's go to kick off.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Kevin first, what is your segment?
- 26:26Speaker 6: Mine has to do the same thing we talked about
- 26:27Speaker 6: with me going to Boston last week. I went to
- 26:29Speaker 6: a lot of games, great games. So I thought, as
- 26:31Speaker 6: a fan, what's the best and worst game you've been
- 26:34Speaker 6: to of your team?
- 26:35Speaker 5: That has to be your team.
- 26:36Speaker 2: That's a good one. That's a good one, best game
- 26:38Speaker 2: I can go.
- 26:39Speaker 1: First best game for me ever was probably the miracle
- 26:44Speaker 1: on mark On Matt Jones, those two to Corey Birmingham
- 26:48Speaker 1: Hell Mary type deal in the back of the end zone.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Arkansas wins. In Little Rock, we beat LSU. They were
- 26:53Speaker 1: high ranked. We storm the field in Little Rock, almost
- 26:55Speaker 1: broke my leg jumping down.
- 26:57Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Second place was not this last season, but the season before.
- 27:02Speaker 1: We went to Iowa to watch Arkansas and Kansas. Kansas
- 27:06Speaker 1: was the number one seed in the NCAA basketball tournament
- 27:09Speaker 1: and we beat them as a must take off a
- 27:11Speaker 1: shirt game.
- 27:11Speaker 2: It was awesome. The place was.
- 27:14Speaker 1: It was an electric in an NCUBA tournament game, which
- 27:17Speaker 1: rarely happens because there were four different crowds there. Those
- 27:22Speaker 1: would be my one and two of good. There have
- 27:25Speaker 1: been so many terrible ones where I would go to
- 27:30Speaker 1: Reynolds razorback Stadium.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Oh I got two and it's like.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Thirty six degrees in sleading and you're getting beat by
- 27:40Speaker 1: thirty and you get to go so few times that
- 27:43Speaker 1: you're like, I'm not leaving even though it's a suffer
- 27:45Speaker 1: Oh this terrible. Like we went to watch Tennessee once
- 27:48Speaker 1: Arkansas Tennessee. I was probably like twenty six, froze my
- 27:53Speaker 1: balls off.
- 27:54Speaker 2: But refuse to leave.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Some of then other group wint to the car and
- 27:56Speaker 1: just like I'm gonna go sit in the car and
- 27:57Speaker 1: I sat there by myself.
- 27:59Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 28:00Speaker 2: We lost like by thirty and I just sat there
- 28:01Speaker 2: and I refused to leave.
- 28:02Speaker 5: I mean, usually that's where alcohol helps, but not with you.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah, every part of it was terrible.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Another one was I took the whole crew to watch
- 28:09Speaker 1: Arkansas and Alabama play football.
- 28:11Speaker 3: We had we were on the road.
- 28:12Speaker 1: We scheduled a show on Thursday, no on Friday, and
- 28:16Speaker 1: on Sunday, so Saturday was off nice music show, yeah nice,
- 28:20Speaker 1: And so we go and I got the tour bus,
- 28:22Speaker 1: I got the whole raging idiot's band with me. I'm like,
- 28:24Speaker 1: we're going to watch Arkansas play Alabama. Alabama was really good,
- 28:28Speaker 1: but who knew that we got a chance. It was
- 28:30Speaker 1: so bad that I was embarrassed to make everybody go.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I had to go on the field and do the
- 28:35Speaker 1: hog call in the third quarter when we were losing
- 28:37Speaker 1: about like forty, and I'm like, all right.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 28:40Speaker 1: It was And then they kept showing me on ESPN,
- 28:43Speaker 1: not as Bobby Bones but as sad fan on the sideline,
- 28:48Speaker 1: cause I'd be like, I don't even know, and like
- 28:51Speaker 1: you were like showing four times a sad faneople were
- 28:53Speaker 1: just getting run.
- 28:55Speaker 3: If it makes me feel any better. We had a
- 28:56Speaker 3: blast at that game.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I'm sure you did. You didn't care as much.
- 29:00Speaker 5: He's like, Nope, but doesn't.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts was playing It's pretty cool man.
- 29:03Speaker 1: So those were all real bad. The other one that
- 29:05Speaker 1: was bad but ended up being really good. I went
- 29:07Speaker 1: to watch Game two of the World Series Cubs and Indians.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Oh remember the Cubs out of one since nineteen oh
- 29:11Speaker 1: eight had a been to World Series.
- 29:12Speaker 2: It's nineteen forty five. Curse of the Billy Goat.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I go to Wrigley. It's insane. It's it's it's so packed,
- 29:18Speaker 1: even on the streets. It's like Times Square, but everybody's
- 29:22Speaker 1: in a great mood. Hard to walk around regularly because
- 29:25Speaker 1: everybody's so packed. Everyone's in a great mood. It's the
- 29:27Speaker 1: most uncomfortable good moods I've ever been a part of.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And then it was a Game two we lost, and
- 29:31Speaker 1: that sucked, But then we ended up winning Game seven
- 29:34Speaker 1: after a rain delay, and it was the Cub's first championship.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Theo Epstein shout out, yep, great job. We should build
- 29:39Speaker 1: a statue, even though you're not there anymore. That was
- 29:42Speaker 1: a bad game too, but not one of my worst
- 29:46Speaker 1: because we ended up winning in game seven. I never
- 29:49Speaker 1: got warm again after that one game by myself, I'm
- 29:50Speaker 1: so cold. So if I gotten warm later in life,
- 29:53Speaker 1: it had been like okay, but so cold from that
- 29:55Speaker 1: that Arkansas Tennessee game. That's my best and worst honorable mention.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I want, not really my team. A lot of games
- 30:01Speaker 1: honorable mention. I went to watch m Smith break the
- 30:03Speaker 1: record for the Cowboys, so it's not my team, but
- 30:04Speaker 1: I went to watch him break the maybe the touchdowns
- 30:06Speaker 1: or rushing yard maybe rushing yards is against the Seahawks
- 30:10Speaker 1: two thousand or two and they lost.
- 30:12Speaker 2: You were there for that, yeah, and they lost the game.
- 30:14Speaker 2: It was really awkward.
- 30:15Speaker 3: And that's your one of your teams.
- 30:16Speaker 2: So yeah, that was my team.
- 30:17Speaker 1: That my team, I said, honorable mention, but not my team,
- 30:20Speaker 1: but it just I just felt bad for everybody because
- 30:22Speaker 1: they built a star, the stand up stage star in
- 30:24Speaker 1: the middle and honor them, but they just lost a
- 30:26Speaker 1: big game to the Seahawks.
- 30:27Speaker 2: That was a crappy game. That's tough. Yeah, okay, so
- 30:29Speaker 2: that's mine, Eddie.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say my worst game was I think
- 30:34Speaker 4: it was two thousand and one. Possibly it was Cowboys
- 30:38Speaker 4: versus the Giants, and that's when Romo got sacked and
- 30:41Speaker 4: broke his collarbone or it was just bad. It was
- 30:44Speaker 4: And I think I was at both of the games
- 30:46Speaker 4: where Romo got hurt against the Giants. These are like
- 30:49Speaker 4: season ending injuries or at least missed like eight games.
- 30:53Speaker 4: So that was terrible. I'll never forget that. Just like
- 30:56Speaker 4: getting hype to go to a Cowboys game and then
- 30:58Speaker 4: Romo goes down like the second quar Yeah that's it,
- 31:01Speaker 4: kill ten twenty ten. Yeah, oh wow, Okay, well I
- 31:04Speaker 4: mixed the Zeros and the Ones.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Yeah yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 4: And then the best, dude, for sure, is when we
- 31:09Speaker 4: went with Jerry Jones to the Cowboys game. I mean,
- 31:12Speaker 4: it wasn't so much the game because they played. They won,
- 31:14Speaker 4: though they played the Texans and it was a good game.
- 31:16Speaker 4: They did win with a terrible Texans team, but thank
- 31:18Speaker 4: god they won it. It doesn't matter, but just win.
- 31:20Speaker 4: I will never ever forget that game. Like flying in
- 31:23Speaker 4: the helicopter with them sitting in the suite. Yeah, that's all.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Getting on the field, Yes, it's pretty cool.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Read.
- 31:31Speaker 8: I would say I don't really have a team, but
- 31:33Speaker 8: I would say the best game I ever went to
- 31:36Speaker 8: was my first ever MLB game that I went to
- 31:40Speaker 8: back in I don't even know when it was. I
- 31:43Speaker 8: was like I was nine or ten, went on a
- 31:45Speaker 8: family vacation to Colorado and saw the Colorado Rockies and
- 31:49Speaker 8: I got to see uh Matt Holliday play, which was
- 31:53Speaker 8: really cool. And my worst one was one that I
- 31:57Speaker 8: actually played in in high school where I was pitching,
- 32:02Speaker 8: and I can pick on We played in Yeah.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that favorite team it.
- 32:08Speaker 8: Is man And I was pitching and I threw one
- 32:11Speaker 8: pitch and I knew, I knew it was over. At
- 32:15Speaker 8: that point, my whole arm just went completely numb. I
- 32:19Speaker 8: couldn't lift anything with it, and from that moment forward,
- 32:22Speaker 8: my pitching career was over.
- 32:23Speaker 1: You could have been a big league I know I
- 32:25Speaker 1: was left handed.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Were you good? I was? Yeah? I was all right.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I love saying that, like now it's easy. I was good.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Hey were you good?
- 32:33Speaker 1: Dude?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah? I really could have made it.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I hurt my big toe though, all right, really kept
- 32:39Speaker 1: me back because you can say whatever you want now.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I'm sorry to hear that read. Thanks man, Yeah what
- 32:44Speaker 2: about you, Kevin?
- 32:45Speaker 6: My best would be twenty eighteen World Series Red Sox Dodgers.
- 32:49Speaker 6: I was at that game in LA which kind of,
- 32:52Speaker 6: you know, not as great, but they came back and
- 32:54Speaker 6: won that game. And then my worst twenty seventeen home opener,
- 32:58Speaker 6: big NFL kickoff after they beat the Falcons the year
- 33:02Speaker 6: before and the comeback, and then they played the.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Chiefs opening night.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Flew out there, I'm all excited, we're putting Banner five
- 33:07Speaker 6: up and they lost to the Chiefs. Cream Hunt as
- 33:09Speaker 6: a rookie, so that sucked to watch that in person.
- 33:12Speaker 6: Spend all that money to go out there and do
- 33:13Speaker 6: all that.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah, any away game you go and lose is the
- 33:16Speaker 1: worst if it's your team, because you just want to
- 33:18Speaker 1: be home because it sucks. You gotta go back to
- 33:20Speaker 1: the hotel room and be in the city with everybody
- 33:22Speaker 1: you hate because they just beat you, and you got
- 33:24Speaker 1: to get way to the airport tomorrow.
- 33:26Speaker 2: You gotta fly home.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Then you think about all the money you wasted because
- 33:29Speaker 1: you didn't even freaking win. Give me times I've done
- 33:32Speaker 1: that going to Arkansas games, I like hate, Like we
- 33:34Speaker 1: walk out of the stadium like, God sucks. I just
- 33:36Speaker 1: want to be home. You just want comfort anyway, that too,
- 33:40Speaker 1: all those just want comfort.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay, Reid, what do you have there? What's
- 33:43Speaker 2: the segment.
- 33:44Speaker 8: So my segment is, at what point do you think
- 33:48Speaker 8: technology is going to be way too much for sports?
- 33:51Speaker 8: Like it could be like advertising like on jerseys, doing
- 33:55Speaker 8: holographic type stuff, or even stuff that is implementing like
- 33:58Speaker 8: they're starting to imput it now, like the pitch clock
- 34:01Speaker 8: and all that stuff. Like, at what point do you
- 34:03Speaker 8: think technology people are going to have to be like
- 34:06Speaker 8: this is this is too much?
- 34:07Speaker 1: I would think the only point that would happen would
- 34:10Speaker 1: be if it's all robots playing. That would be too
- 34:13Speaker 1: much because otherwise.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I have braced technology in sports.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I think, you know the fact that they can show
- 34:19Speaker 1: up an umpire's right or wrong by showing us that
- 34:21Speaker 1: square immediately, like I'm just wrung them up.
- 34:24Speaker 2: He's arguing about it. Let's look at the square. Oh
- 34:26Speaker 2: he did kind of.
- 34:27Speaker 10: You know.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I think that's great.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I wish there were technology on the goal line, meaning
- 34:31Speaker 1: if the ball, yeah, I don't understand that, like that's
- 34:34Speaker 1: just a yeah, the out of bounds, the.
- 34:38Speaker 2: First eye in the sky, or put some sort of sensor.
- 34:40Speaker 4: They're still going to bring the chains, Like, guys, we
- 34:43Speaker 4: should have lasers on these tips and lasers absolutely so.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I don't know that I have an answer to when
- 34:49Speaker 1: it's going to go over the line, except for if
- 34:54Speaker 1: it's all played by robots. But I'm sure then we'd
- 34:56Speaker 1: find a way to gamble on it. Yeah, yeah, Hey,
- 34:59Speaker 1: I ever do for sports. Hey, I already does a
- 35:02Speaker 1: lot of stuff for sports, Like if you watch Amazon
- 35:04Speaker 1: at times, they can kind of tell you the play
- 35:05Speaker 1: when it's being run, and they can look at what's
- 35:06Speaker 1: happened before and they can show you. You know, a
- 35:08Speaker 1: lot of that. AI is very much involved in sports too,
- 35:12Speaker 1: with even scouting for teams. Oh, there are pitching machines
- 35:16Speaker 1: now in baseball and softball that can take all the
- 35:20Speaker 1: data from the pitcher that you're going to face and
- 35:23Speaker 1: build basically what they like to throw on what counts,
- 35:26Speaker 1: and the pitching machine can throw you that.
- 35:28Speaker 6: When I went to the Red Sox game, on the scoreboard,
- 35:30Speaker 6: they didn't have just a pitch speed. They had the
- 35:33Speaker 6: break and everything on it now like how far the
- 35:35Speaker 6: curveball broke and the velocity on it. And another thing too,
- 35:39Speaker 6: I can't even think of what, but they have all
- 35:41Speaker 6: that now.
- 35:41Speaker 1: And they have the ability to get statistics in basketball too,
- 35:45Speaker 1: this super you know, I forget what kind of stats
- 35:50Speaker 1: they call them, but where they get into like how
- 35:52Speaker 1: fast is he from running from the free throw line
- 35:55Speaker 1: to the other three point line if he's got the ball?
- 35:57Speaker 2: Like they can break anything down. I love data. I
- 36:03Speaker 2: don't know on my head that I hear.
- 36:04Speaker 1: I guess what would also be bad is if AI
- 36:06Speaker 1: those robots as you're watching them, because so we evolved
- 36:09Speaker 1: that were like, let's go that they decide to turn
- 36:11Speaker 1: on you and kill everybody in the stands. O, man,
- 36:13Speaker 1: like that would be bad they had that power.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Hey, that would be too much.
- 36:16Speaker 1: They kill each other there it is?
- 36:20Speaker 11: What about like AI calling games like referee? No, like
- 36:23Speaker 11: the commentate commentary.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Oh that's cool.
- 36:27Speaker 2: I mean if you don't know the difference, what's the difference?
- 36:31Speaker 2: How do I know? It's not a computer anyway?
- 36:33Speaker 1: I don't think an AI can do what Romo does
- 36:35Speaker 1: not now, I mean, not do better, but probably can
- 36:38Speaker 1: predict better. Probably probably can predict better based on formation
- 36:42Speaker 1: down distance.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Do you remember just when in hockey they kind of
- 36:45Speaker 4: did a little tracer on the putty, that kind of
- 36:48Speaker 4: that didn't last very long. I thought that was cool.
- 36:51Speaker 4: I wish i'd still do that little fire around the puff.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Oh, I like the tracer. I guess I watched so
- 36:55Speaker 1: little hockey.
- 36:55Speaker 2: They don't do that.
- 36:56Speaker 3: No, they don't do that.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Freaking park.
- 36:59Speaker 6: Some guy asked me a couple I was watching the
- 37:00Speaker 6: Bruins game and it was after the Celtics, and he
- 37:02Speaker 6: was like, hey, big Bruins fans. Yeah, I mean I
- 37:04Speaker 6: watched during the playoffs and they're not a big hockey guy.
- 37:06Speaker 6: And he's like, yeah, I mean either. The puck just
- 37:09Speaker 6: moves too fast. That was the end of the conversation.
- 37:11Speaker 1: I don't watch cool man, I don't watch talk, but
- 37:16Speaker 1: I thought that little you could still see it by
- 37:18Speaker 1: the little flicker. I wish it were an option then
- 37:22Speaker 1: that would be cool, like close caption you could pick
- 37:24Speaker 1: flicker and there or the puck was just giant.
- 37:28Speaker 4: But even what I don't like about that is when
- 37:30Speaker 4: it goes to the bottom part where you know all
- 37:32Speaker 4: he sees the board. You see them all like fighting
- 37:34Speaker 4: for it, but you can't see it. They got technology.
- 37:36Speaker 4: You need the massive puck. We've got able to see
- 37:39Speaker 4: it option that you want to click the massive puck.
- 37:41Speaker 4: The puck is like twenty times bigger than it really is.
- 37:43Speaker 6: You should get the view from the puck, what the
- 37:45Speaker 6: puck's looking at?
- 37:48Speaker 4: Brought to you by draftings whatever you're looking at.
- 37:53Speaker 5: The guys looking down at you, trying to get at you, because.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Can you imagine, Like we're watching football and they throw
- 37:58Speaker 4: the ball and there's a part of the field that
- 37:59Speaker 4: we can't see.
- 38:00Speaker 3: We're like, oh, I wonder if you caught it or not.
- 38:01Speaker 4: But in hockey we're cool with not seeing the pup
- 38:04Speaker 4: for I don't know a whole thirty seconds.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Ever, because it's too small. A puck moves too fast.
- 38:09Speaker 3: It's weird, man.
- 38:10Speaker 1: And they'll put cameras in basketball on top of the
- 38:12Speaker 1: scoreboard on they have all these why not put the
- 38:15Speaker 1: do puck cam?
- 38:16Speaker 2: Do baseball cam? Put a camp aside the baseball?
- 38:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:19Speaker 4: Football, yeah, but that would make it sick because off
- 38:22Speaker 4: the pictures.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Like you can take you know, you're moving with it.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Everyone is throwing up like think about that.
- 38:37Speaker 2: That would be elite.
- 38:38Speaker 6: Yeah, football, there's like a deep pass, you're just in
- 38:41Speaker 6: the air with the ball.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Who thank you for sure to make that happen?
- 38:44Speaker 5: That would be cool.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Think about a golf ball.
- 38:48Speaker 4: I love the the umpire cam like that.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Gives you a really good perspective, even if.
- 38:52Speaker 2: You don't watch it live.
- 38:53Speaker 1: It's like, well, let's go watch let's watch the bomb
- 38:55Speaker 1: cam or whatever it was, the deep ask and then
- 38:57Speaker 1: you watch the ball land in the guy's hand.
- 39:01Speaker 3: That would be awesome that, you know.
- 39:02Speaker 4: The one I don't like, though, is in the Final
- 39:05Speaker 4: four the track in basketball camp. I don't like watching
- 39:09Speaker 4: the game floor level from floor level. Yeah, it's a
- 39:12Speaker 4: bad angle looking at that, but you don't have to,
- 39:15Speaker 4: but they cut to it. Sometimes they cut to it
- 39:17Speaker 4: and they'll leave it there for like, you know, a
- 39:18Speaker 4: minute or something. I'm just so used to that standard,
- 39:22Speaker 4: you know, from half court looking towards the basket, right,
- 39:26Speaker 4: is that it?
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:28Speaker 3: Or maybe I'm thinking maybe I'm thinking of two K.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You're thinking of two K because it's weird, Like you get.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Used to watching these angles.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Okay, it is weird on two K when you flip it,
- 39:38Speaker 1: it is very weird.
- 39:40Speaker 4: And then in football too, the what's it called what's
- 39:42Speaker 4: that camera on the wires? Yeah, when they stay on
- 39:45Speaker 4: that one, that's pretty weird because we're not used to
- 39:46Speaker 4: watching it like that.
- 39:47Speaker 5: I like to kick off when they do it and
- 39:48Speaker 5: kickoff though, that's cool.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 1: The follow it.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Good.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Good job, right, good question, Eddie.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I want to go a little bit towards memorabilia.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Like as a kid, what was your favorite sports card
- 40:01Speaker 4: that you thought was gonna make you a lot of
- 40:03Speaker 4: money and it never did?
- 40:08Speaker 1: Sports card? I did collect baseball cards. I feel like
- 40:11Speaker 1: a Frank Thomas Diamond King, don Ris. I remember Frank
- 40:15Speaker 1: Thomas was a rookie and I had that Diamond Kings.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I remember the Diamond King. They were like drawn, Yeah,
- 40:20Speaker 2: they had the big head.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I think I thought my Frank Thomas collection was
- 40:23Speaker 1: going to be massive for me. Frank Thomas was a player,
- 40:27Speaker 1: where like when you got that card, you're.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Like, oh, that's a good one.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Yeah, especially a rookie card.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so I would.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I would probably say that card. I opened up a box.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I have these things called they're called Flawless Collegiate and
- 40:38Speaker 1: opened up a box and I have a Jalen Hurts
- 40:41Speaker 1: Emerald like one to ten.
- 40:42Speaker 2: But they use real emerald in the card. Now. They
- 40:44Speaker 2: do all this stupid stuff to make a real stone.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Yeah that's cool.
- 40:48Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 40:48Speaker 3: That's really cool.
- 40:49Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 40:50Speaker 1: They just do all this stuff now in certain cards
- 40:52Speaker 1: and it can be almost the same card but slightly
- 40:54Speaker 1: colored differently. And if it's a one on one versus
- 40:56Speaker 1: a one to ten, same exact card, that one on
- 40:58Speaker 1: one's worth like eight times more than one of ten
- 41:00Speaker 1: just because they only made one one like that. Yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 1: all right, Kevin rememballa Eddie's Question card.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:06Speaker 5: I never really got into cards like sports cards.
- 41:10Speaker 6: It won't be sports. But I did come across back
- 41:12Speaker 6: when Pokemon was huge. Was that late ninety early two thousand.
- 41:14Speaker 3: So we discover is a big Pokemon what?
- 41:16Speaker 10: No?
- 41:17Speaker 6: And I didn't even collect them, but like I remember
- 41:18Speaker 6: my brother and I were walking through school one day
- 41:20Speaker 6: and we found like this big old pack of them.
- 41:22Speaker 6: I'm talking like a book full of them. We're like, dude,
- 41:24Speaker 6: we're gonna make so much money. And then like we
- 41:27Speaker 6: were I don't know, somebody like accidentally left them there.
- 41:29Speaker 6: They were like in the middle of the field, dude.
- 41:31Speaker 6: And then we opened them and it's just like there
- 41:33Speaker 6: was just like water and like it looked like it
- 41:35Speaker 6: rained all over him, you know what I mean. And
- 41:37Speaker 6: we were like but we were so excited. We're like,
- 41:39Speaker 6: do we got this book? And we opened it and
- 41:41Speaker 6: it's like, oh, this sucks.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Mike you got a lot of Pokemon still.
- 41:43Speaker 12: Oh yeah, I'd have a binder full of them.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Like Kevin found they do those breaks for Pokemon stuff
- 41:48Speaker 1: on TikTok.
- 41:48Speaker 12: Yeah, I watch them. I never bought any from him though.
- 41:50Speaker 1: So do you only buy cards or does one of
- 41:52Speaker 1: the poke's actually sign something?
- 41:54Speaker 12: You buy cards, so you're trying to hit like a
- 41:56Speaker 12: rare card.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Do they have rare cards?
- 41:58Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 41:58Speaker 11: Really, and every package at least one rare. It depends
- 42:01Speaker 11: how like the level of it. But that's what they're
- 42:03Speaker 11: trying to hit.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I thought about last night. I was on eBay.
- 42:07Speaker 1: My favorite thing to do now on eBay with cards
- 42:09Speaker 1: because I really don't buy single cards. I like to
- 42:11Speaker 1: buy the boxes or the old stuff and open. But
- 42:15Speaker 1: I'll go to eBay and go to like a card
- 42:18Speaker 1: like a Pannini or Tops and just type auctions about
- 42:21Speaker 1: to close so you find then't there's like three or
- 42:24Speaker 1: four minutes left. And sometimes some of these cards like
- 42:28Speaker 1: nobody ever saw them.
- 42:29Speaker 4: It feels like like they just went under the radar.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Yeah, like it didn't.
- 42:35Speaker 3: That's cool, man.
- 42:36Speaker 1: So I bought a Derek Jeter three thousand hit Tops
- 42:44Speaker 1: Transcend it. It was on for like thirteen dollars PSA
- 42:47Speaker 1: grade had meant ten, and I was like, this can't
- 42:49Speaker 1: be right. Somebody's about to make a big, big jump
- 42:51Speaker 1: and pay a bunch for it. And so I bought it,
- 42:53Speaker 1: and I kept waiting for somebody to beat me. Ended
- 42:54Speaker 1: up getting it for like twenty seven dollars. It's like
- 42:56Speaker 1: a two hundred dollar card, really real. Yeah, And so
- 43:01Speaker 1: that's my thing now. I like to go last second
- 43:02Speaker 1: and see what's available. Most of its garbage that's still left.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Because but I saw that card and then I got,
- 43:07Speaker 1: I got. I bought Kevin a gift. It's not here yet.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Do you want to know what it is? Or do
- 43:11Speaker 1: you want to wait for it?
- 43:11Speaker 10: Oh?
- 43:11Speaker 5: I gotta wait for it.
- 43:12Speaker 2: You bought me a gift, A card gift? Yeah, okay,
- 43:14Speaker 2: it's really cool, all right? Do you want to hear it?
- 43:16Speaker 2: You won't know.
- 43:16Speaker 5: We gotta wait.
- 43:17Speaker 1: I go.
- 43:17Speaker 5: I gotta see it, eddie.
- 43:19Speaker 1: You want to see it? Yes, and see? Hang on
- 43:21Speaker 1: if you think you'll like it, yes, ok, I gotta
- 43:24Speaker 1: find out. I have an idea of what you would
- 43:25Speaker 1: get Kevin.
- 43:27Speaker 6: Hold on, you gotta let me know if it's at
- 43:29Speaker 6: least close to your idea.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I gotta find it, bro, these are all the ouption
- 43:34Speaker 1: items you've gotten. No, this is just eBay?
- 43:36Speaker 2: You ever heard of it? Yeah?
- 43:38Speaker 4: Hey, how do you get to that? How do you
- 43:41Speaker 4: get to that sold part on eBay? I think that
- 43:43Speaker 4: for thirty minutes yesterday?
- 43:45Speaker 1: Is it the second thing on the list?
- 43:46Speaker 2: Which one?
- 43:46Speaker 1: What button did you push purchases? This item?
- 43:50Speaker 2: Got away purchases?
- 43:53Speaker 1: Where how do I do purchase this?
- 43:56Speaker 2: Oh?
- 43:56Speaker 1: It's in this boom? Yeah, here you go? So it is?
- 44:00Speaker 1: This is the car hold on? That's a hold on?
- 44:05Speaker 1: Oh that's really cool, Like that's that's a oh yeah
- 44:08Speaker 1: that's really cool, Like oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 44:11Speaker 5: Is it what you thought?
- 44:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah along the.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Lines not exactly what I thought, Kevin, You're gonna like that, Dang.
- 44:20Speaker 5: I feel like I want to know, but I've got
- 44:21Speaker 5: to see it. I feel like I have to see
- 44:22Speaker 5: it for it. Yeah, way for it.
- 44:24Speaker 2: It's just a card, but it's pretty cool.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I saw it. I saw it and I was like,
- 44:28Speaker 1: I think, Kevin, like this, I bought it for you.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I didn't like go searching for you. I was like, oh,
- 44:31Speaker 1: I really felt like getting Kevin something today. I saw
- 44:33Speaker 1: it and I was like, I think, Kevin, wild like this.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Do you still have like cards from the from the day.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I don't. I don't even know they are.
- 44:41Speaker 1: My mom says she has them somewhere, but I'm sure
- 44:43Speaker 1: they're all nicked up in corners are all jacked up
- 44:45Speaker 1: and et cetera. Yeah, but now if your corners are
- 44:48Speaker 1: even a little bit, you get that eight grade drops
- 44:51Speaker 1: a card like forty percent value.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Dude, you know what I got.
- 44:54Speaker 4: I got a card that was trimmed and it says
- 44:57Speaker 4: like detected that it was trimmed and it's worth nothing.
- 45:02Speaker 2: They tried to clean up the.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Grade correct, But but it's so easy too. I don't know
- 45:06Speaker 4: why anyone would think that you could do that, because
- 45:08Speaker 4: you put it in like a case and it rattles
- 45:11Speaker 4: because the case is built exactly how every card is.
- 45:14Speaker 4: I guess to the size of the card, so if
- 45:16Speaker 4: it's trimmed, it rattles in there.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Well, thank you. I liked the segment. It was fun.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Maybe we'll do it again sometime.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Good job, guys, dude.
- 45:24Speaker 3: I thought I thought of a segment we can do too.
- 45:26Speaker 4: It's kind of a spin off of we've already kind
- 45:29Speaker 4: of talked about a little bit. But it's like taking
- 45:31Speaker 4: some of your cards and finding like a player that
- 45:34Speaker 4: we've never like, we don't know, like an old baseball player,
- 45:37Speaker 4: old football player, and then play a game and see
- 45:39Speaker 4: who could contact them and get him on the show.
- 45:42Speaker 1: That's funny because the one, yeah, the one I was
- 45:44Speaker 1: gonna do is like I found this player here and
- 45:45Speaker 1: I was like, is he a lie? Let's get him on.
- 45:48Speaker 1: That's kind of the same.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Yeah, but we have a competition of like competition who
- 45:51Speaker 4: could book them first?
- 45:53Speaker 2: So I have to pull a random card. Yeah, I
- 45:56Speaker 2: like that element.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Somebody that played a long time ago.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Here you go.
- 46:02Speaker 1: You know, I have these cards, new Kids on the
- 46:03Speaker 1: Block cards.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Oh, open them.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I don't even know what I know. People get annoyed
- 46:07Speaker 1: by open crap on that show because it's not theirs. Well,
- 46:10Speaker 1: I know, but I don't even know if these are
- 46:13Speaker 1: a bottom for like fifty bucks?
- 46:14Speaker 3: Are those sticky.
- 46:15Speaker 5: Every time he opens the cards?
- 46:16Speaker 1: Now, I'm just gonna be sticky Number ten hanging tough,
- 46:22Speaker 1: Here's Donnie, Here's Jordan.
- 46:24Speaker 3: And overall, gosh, that's just terrible.
- 46:26Speaker 1: So yeah, I'll bring in a pack of cards and
- 46:28Speaker 1: we'll just I have these cards. This, this is the
- 46:31Speaker 1: set I haven't opened up yet. Okay, do you want
- 46:33Speaker 1: to pull a card in a competition? John, I'm coming
- 46:36Speaker 1: one hundred bucks. First person in book the person? I
- 46:38Speaker 1: love it?
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, here we go.
- 46:40Speaker 1: The person is up Facebook Facebook, Dang, I don't have Facebook.
- 46:44Speaker 1: The person is okay, there's there's no chance. Come on,
- 46:48Speaker 1: come on heavy, there's no chance. But okay, that will
- 46:50Speaker 1: that we can book them? Yeah, oh it's it can't
- 46:53Speaker 1: be someone famous. It's got to be like a non name.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I just pulled them.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Are they alive?
- 46:57Speaker 1: Andrew Dawson, Darryl Strawberry, Oh oh, no chance, dude, are
- 47:02Speaker 1: you giving up? Never?
- 47:05Speaker 3: Darryl Strawberry?
- 47:06Speaker 2: Okay, is he alive? Still?
- 47:08Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 47:08Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 47:08Speaker 12: When he's sick or something?
- 47:09Speaker 1: Sixty two?
- 47:10Speaker 2: Well, maybe you can book him.
- 47:11Speaker 3: It's easy to find, you.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Want to see. Second place would have been Yes.
- 47:15Speaker 12: He's recovering from a heart attack.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Oh guys, let him recover. Yeah.
- 47:20Speaker 2: No, has he done any interview interviews lately?
- 47:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it says three three days ago.
- 47:25Speaker 12: Boom talking about his heart attack.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Hey, yeah, the race is on Strawberry.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Good luck everybody.
- 47:31Speaker 5: He's got a lot of followers on Instagram.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Go get him all right?
- 47:35Speaker 1: Thanks all right, First, we're going to talk with coach
- 47:40Speaker 1: Courtney Dyifl from the University of Arkansas the Razorbacks. I
- 47:43Speaker 1: went over and I think this is where I lost
- 47:45Speaker 1: my arm, fully when I tore my rotator.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Come, that's where it started.
- 47:48Speaker 2: No, that's where it ended.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Florida States where it started, Oklahoma States where it got
- 47:53Speaker 1: mid and then this is where it totally fell off. Okay, okay,
- 47:56Speaker 1: and I've been battling it back. So this is coach
- 47:59Speaker 1: Courtney we Diefle from the Razorbacks. What was this program
- 48:03Speaker 1: like when you first came to University of Arkansas.
- 48:05Speaker 13: Oh gosh, we're going.
- 48:06Speaker 14: Right at it.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen you changed the entire landscape of what
- 48:11Speaker 1: fans expect and also what the team continues to do.
- 48:13Speaker 10: So when you come here, like, what do they tell
- 48:15Speaker 10: you before you get here?
- 48:17Speaker 13: Well, I think more than anything, it was just a
- 48:20Speaker 13: a group that didn't know how to win. It's a
- 48:23Speaker 13: group that wanted to win. It's a group that came
- 48:25Speaker 13: here to win, that wanted to be Razorbacks, but didn't
- 48:28Speaker 13: necessarily have the habits to win.
- 48:30Speaker 1: How do you start recruiting differently changing a culture?
- 48:35Speaker 10: Is it just one at a time? Do you focus
- 48:37Speaker 10: on people in state or is it just a wide
- 48:39Speaker 10: net you have to do well.
- 48:40Speaker 13: We started with in the circle because you if you
- 48:43Speaker 13: have a really good picture, you have a chance. And
- 48:45Speaker 13: so we ultimately just tried to change the culture and
- 48:49Speaker 13: elevate the level of play from the circle out. Our
- 48:52Speaker 13: first two recruits were Mary Half and Hannah McEwen. So
- 48:56Speaker 13: our recruiting early looked different than it is now because
- 48:59Speaker 13: we tried to find the ones that fell through the
- 49:00Speaker 13: cracks or blossom blate or For Mary, she had a
- 49:04Speaker 13: broken inkle in her prime recruiting year, and so she
- 49:07Speaker 13: was someone that just didn't get recruited because she wasn't
- 49:10Speaker 13: out there that year, and so we heard about her
- 49:12Speaker 13: and so it was a little bit more spread out.
- 49:14Speaker 13: It was just like the word of mouth, this this
- 49:16Speaker 13: kid you know may have it, and so it was
- 49:20Speaker 13: it was finding those Hannah McEwan had decommitted, so she
- 49:23Speaker 13: had kind of come back on the market late and
- 49:25Speaker 13: and so it's then getting the players that want to
- 49:28Speaker 13: leave their mark on something.
- 49:29Speaker 2: What is your pitch to a player? Now?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Talked to a lot of coaches, everybody has a different
- 49:34Speaker 1: philosophy and had good.
- 49:36Speaker 10: God, good, We go Oh yeah.
- 49:43Speaker 1: We've been to a lot of places and talked to
- 49:44Speaker 1: a lot of coaches and everybody has a different philosophy
- 49:46Speaker 1: on recruiting. Like when you go and you talk to
- 49:48Speaker 1: them a person for the first time, like, what's the message.
- 49:52Speaker 13: Well, I think the message for us is more of
- 49:56Speaker 13: who we are, not what we do or anything. I
- 49:59Speaker 13: think our biggest selling point is who we are. We
- 50:02Speaker 13: play really high level softball. We have one of the
- 50:07Speaker 13: best facilities in the country, with the best fan base.
- 50:10Speaker 13: We've won SEC championships. We want to get to the
- 50:12Speaker 13: World Series. We know that's the next step for us.
- 50:15Speaker 13: But our separator is who we are and so's it's
- 50:20Speaker 13: finding those players that want to be a part of that.
- 50:25Speaker 13: And it's worked out pretty well for us.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Whenever the burn seats, when it's all full, now, do
- 50:33Speaker 1: you ever just take a second look at it and go, man,
- 50:34Speaker 1: I remember when nobody was coming, and I just enjoy that.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Can you do that? I do.
- 50:40Speaker 13: It hits me like maybe once or twice a year
- 50:44Speaker 13: to where I walk out and it's completely full and
- 50:47Speaker 13: maybe they're calling the hogs. It depends on the moment,
- 50:49Speaker 13: and it hits me and it just like this wave
- 50:51Speaker 13: of emotion kind of hits me because when we first
- 50:55Speaker 13: got here, we didn't have anyone coming, and our first
- 50:57Speaker 13: meeting with the team was it was just and like,
- 51:00Speaker 13: where where are we? Because if we don't know where
- 51:02Speaker 13: we are, we don't know how to get where we're going.
- 51:04Speaker 14: We have to have a starting point.
- 51:05Speaker 13: And part of that conversation was, well, like nobody comes
- 51:08Speaker 13: to watch us play. I'm like, well, we have a
- 51:10Speaker 13: responsibility of putting a product out there that they want
- 51:12Speaker 13: to come watch. And so in part of that discussion
- 51:17Speaker 13: with Admin and everything, we didn't charge. We went away
- 51:19Speaker 13: from charging. We're like, maybe someone will take a chance
- 51:21Speaker 13: on us if they don't have to make a financial investment.
- 51:24Speaker 13: And so as we've gotten better each year, the conversation
- 51:28Speaker 13: has progressed, and when we got to the conversation of
- 51:31Speaker 13: hey we can charge, like, let's charge again, or we
- 51:33Speaker 13: have a product that people will come watch. And now
- 51:35Speaker 13: we have season tickets and now we have thirty three
- 51:39Speaker 13: hundred plus that come and it's incredible, and it hits
- 51:43Speaker 13: me once or twice a year, and it'll make me
- 51:45Speaker 13: emotional because I'm just really proud and it's just so cool.
- 51:48Speaker 13: I think we have the best atmosphere in college softball,
- 51:50Speaker 13: and we fought for it, and our players have given
- 51:54Speaker 13: them a product that they're really proud of, and it's
- 51:57Speaker 13: I don't think there's anything like it.
- 51:59Speaker 10: Last question, what's the goal of the season, Like, what's
- 52:03Speaker 10: the goal?
- 52:04Speaker 15: Our goal?
- 52:04Speaker 13: Well, we want to be in Oklahoma City, not just
- 52:07Speaker 13: be there, we want to compete there. But I think
- 52:10Speaker 13: for us, we're still trying to be our best, and
- 52:13Speaker 13: so sometimes you can get bogged down with the big
- 52:16Speaker 13: overarching goal and just kind of forget that we just
- 52:19Speaker 13: really need to be our best on Friday and try
- 52:22Speaker 13: to beat South Carolina whoever's next, And so, you know,
- 52:26Speaker 13: I think that that's where we want to be. How
- 52:30Speaker 13: we get there is just by doing one thing at
- 52:32Speaker 13: a time.
- 52:32Speaker 10: Still room for gross to have.
- 52:35Speaker 1: You ever peat too early in a season, yeah, and
- 52:38Speaker 1: you look back and go, man, we kind of hit it.
- 52:40Speaker 10: A little too early. Yeah.
- 52:42Speaker 13: I think your goal is always to just continue growing
- 52:44Speaker 13: and then be playing your best in your freest at
- 52:46Speaker 13: the end. We've had it the other way. We've played
- 52:49Speaker 13: tighter at the end, we've been a little beat up
- 52:52Speaker 13: at the end. And so I think that for us
- 52:55Speaker 13: this year, we've just had this like steady climb, and
- 52:58Speaker 13: sometimes it feels a little slower than others. But our
- 53:02Speaker 13: best softball still ahad of us this year, coach, thank you.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Let's get to our talk now with Florida State softball
- 53:08Speaker 1: catcher Mikayla Edenfield and infielder Devin Flaherty. Mikayla is known
- 53:13Speaker 1: as Area fifty one because she hits bombs, and Devin
- 53:16Speaker 1: has over a three hundred career average. Here they are,
- 53:19Speaker 1: Mikayla and Devin, Thank you guys for hanging out with us.
- 53:24Speaker 1: We were both from Florida growing up.
- 53:26Speaker 2: And Devin, I'll start with you. Did you always want
- 53:28Speaker 2: to be a seminole? Yeah?
- 53:30Speaker 1: I did.
- 53:30Speaker 2: I mean, would you say no?
- 53:32Speaker 10: Though?
- 53:32Speaker 7: If you didn't, no, I wouldn't because both my parents
- 53:35Speaker 7: went to law school here, and then my brother went
- 53:37Speaker 7: to school here, and I'm here, and then my little
- 53:39Speaker 7: sister plays beach volleyball here. So I think it was
- 53:41Speaker 7: in my blood. So I definitely wouldn't say no, and
- 53:44Speaker 7: I probably didn't have to beat Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 1: What about you?
- 53:49Speaker 15: Yes?
- 53:49Speaker 1: And no?
- 53:50Speaker 2: What brought you here?
- 53:52Speaker 9: I think overall, like when I was taking visits for softball,
- 53:54Speaker 9: like I just knew I wanted to play softball at
- 53:56Speaker 9: a pretty high level, but also wanted like some family
- 53:59Speaker 9: core value. Wanted to like place away, you know, home
- 54:02Speaker 9: from away from home type of vibe. And I think
- 54:05Speaker 9: in general, it's kind of funny how it like ended
- 54:08Speaker 9: up because I'm only like an hour away from my hometown.
- 54:10Speaker 9: So a lot of people like get the idea that
- 54:13Speaker 9: like Florest State was like my dream school like growing
- 54:15Speaker 9: up and because of like the proximity piece, But.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Like it's just it's a tough ye.
- 54:22Speaker 9: Because like grew up coming to all the camps here,
- 54:25Speaker 9: grew up like wanting to play for FSU at some point,
- 54:29Speaker 9: but like also not like being so like dead set
- 54:32Speaker 9: on it.
- 54:32Speaker 1: It was almost by hearing you talk that it was
- 54:36Speaker 1: Flora State was so great for you, but it had
- 54:38Speaker 1: to be so great for you to want to be
- 54:39Speaker 1: here because you wanted to get away.
- 54:40Speaker 2: But it was so great. You're like, I can't go
- 54:41Speaker 2: anywhere else.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Because it's a I have to go to Florida State
- 54:44Speaker 1: because it's it's such a good program.
- 54:46Speaker 9: I mean percent like and this this place is culture.
- 54:49Speaker 9: It brings around like the best people and like, to
- 54:51Speaker 9: me at that point in time, I was like I
- 54:53Speaker 9: always belittled myself, So I just didn't think I was
- 54:56Speaker 9: going to be good enough to be like a part
- 54:59Speaker 9: of this they had going here. So it was just
- 55:02Speaker 9: like for the long amount of time that like I
- 55:03Speaker 9: was just grateful for like the environment and being around
- 55:05Speaker 9: here and then coming to the camps here and learning
- 55:07Speaker 9: from the coaches and other coaches from different universities that
- 55:11Speaker 9: worked camp.
- 55:12Speaker 14: So it was just like a really good like growth
- 55:14Speaker 14: for me.
- 55:14Speaker 1: When did the nickname area fifty one? When did that
- 55:17Speaker 1: first happen and stick? And who said it the very
- 55:21Speaker 1: first time?
- 55:21Speaker 9: I want to give a shout out to Troy Camera,
- 55:27Speaker 9: so I think so I decided to wear fifty one
- 55:30Speaker 9: because it was my mom's number growing up.
- 55:32Speaker 15: She played a slow pitch.
- 55:33Speaker 9: Come from like a family of female athletes, so you know,
- 55:37Speaker 9: my grandpa's athlete, but like we're all just female athletes.
- 55:41Speaker 9: And I think we're just talking about the number one
- 55:44Speaker 9: day and then Teacam comes to me, he's just like
- 55:47Speaker 9: you ever thought of like area fifty one? I forgot
- 55:49Speaker 9: how the whole conversation went down, but then he had
- 55:51Speaker 9: said Area fifty one. I think it snuck over into
- 55:54Speaker 9: Tim's ear or Brett, who he had at the sid
- 55:57Speaker 9: before him, and I think like, one day I hit
- 56:00Speaker 9: a home run, next thing I know, they like whispered it,
- 56:03Speaker 9: and the next you know, things turn domino effect like
- 56:06Speaker 9: it's stuck ever since.
- 56:07Speaker 2: So pretty cool.
- 56:08Speaker 4: You guys are so positive out in the field. I
- 56:10Speaker 4: was supporting each other. Is there ever a time when
- 56:12Speaker 4: you're like, oh my gosh, she's took the last donut
- 56:15Speaker 4: and I can't forgive her and I don't want to
- 56:17Speaker 4: support her right now.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we find over stuff like that.
- 56:20Speaker 3: Do you ever get in that scenario.
- 56:21Speaker 4: Where you're just like, oh, this is so hard to
- 56:23Speaker 4: your firm, but okay, we'll do it anyway.
- 56:25Speaker 15: I mean, I don't think so.
- 56:26Speaker 14: I mean, I think you have regular like.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Questions.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Just say that's a terrible question and we can move on.
- 56:33Speaker 7: But yes, we'll get in tips with each other, but
- 56:36Speaker 7: we'll never not be supportive of each other.
- 56:37Speaker 1: We literally fought about a donut this morning. Is why
- 56:39Speaker 1: he's asking there was one donut left and donuts too.
- 56:42Speaker 1: He's bringing it up because I eat the last donut
- 56:44Speaker 1: and this is kind of like an attack at me.
- 56:46Speaker 1: So I'm sorry you guys had to be a part
- 56:47Speaker 1: of that.
- 56:48Speaker 14: We'll find about sweets for sure.
- 56:50Speaker 2: What's the what's the ceiling in your mind this season? Devin?
- 56:55Speaker 14: I mean the ceiling. I mean, we always want to
- 56:57Speaker 14: make it to a national championship.
- 56:58Speaker 7: So I think this programs at five years, you kind
- 57:00Speaker 7: of talk about it success and it's kind of the
- 57:03Speaker 7: new standard, and so we talk a lot about how
- 57:05Speaker 7: we're implementing that. And you know, these freshmen are coming
- 57:07Speaker 7: in and they just kind of expect the postseason, they
- 57:10Speaker 7: expect the national championship run.
- 57:12Speaker 14: So how do we get.
- 57:13Speaker 7: Them to the point where they know that the things
- 57:14Speaker 7: we do day in and day out earn it?
- 57:16Speaker 14: And I think that creates the ceiling for us.
- 57:18Speaker 1: What's the fine line between hurt and injured? Because if
- 57:21Speaker 1: you're hurt, obviously you can play, but sometimes the hurt
- 57:25Speaker 1: does turn to injury and it's detrimental to the team
- 57:27Speaker 1: if you keep going the question for both of you guys,
- 57:29Speaker 1: where where does that line get drawn? And do you
- 57:32Speaker 1: often go over the line where you think you complain
- 57:34Speaker 1: you probably shouldn't.
- 57:36Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I might be the best person to
- 57:38Speaker 9: ask this because I mean Devin can speak for it
- 57:40Speaker 9: as well. Like when you're like a player and you're
- 57:42Speaker 9: always like you want it, you want it all the time.
- 57:45Speaker 9: And I think it comes like with great communication, and
- 57:47Speaker 9: it comes with the family aspect here and the trust
- 57:50Speaker 9: that we have with one another, and just being able
- 57:53Speaker 9: to talk and communicate with Eunice or athletic trainer, and
- 57:57Speaker 9: then just figuring out like the bigger picture, right, like
- 58:00Speaker 9: it's okay to be hurt, but like why why should
- 58:03Speaker 9: we like push it to the point that you get injured?
- 58:05Speaker 9: And so it's definitely a communication thing. It's really tough
- 58:08Speaker 9: to make it like your own personal decision because it's
- 58:10Speaker 9: way more than that. Like we say, like team forty
- 58:13Speaker 9: one's our mantra and we only need everyone so and
- 58:15Speaker 9: we've got great depth, like any point in time, like
- 58:18Speaker 9: not afraid to see anyone else out there on the field.
- 58:21Speaker 14: So it's definitely like a tough situation.
- 58:23Speaker 7: Yeah, I think just to the point where is it
- 58:25Speaker 7: going to hurt the team if you're out there too,
- 58:26Speaker 7: Like are you not playing to the best of your ability?
- 58:28Speaker 7: You know, you trust the coaches to put you know,
- 58:30Speaker 7: the people out there, we're gonna win the game. And
- 58:32Speaker 7: then you have the bench too who's super deep as well.
- 58:35Speaker 7: So I mean, I think it's hard, but I mean
- 58:38Speaker 7: neither one of us would probably ever. We try to
- 58:41Speaker 7: stay on the field as much as we can, but
- 58:42Speaker 7: definitely a fine line just communication and trust.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Last couple of questions.
- 58:47Speaker 1: If you get your coaches and they give you all
- 58:49Speaker 1: the data regarding the pictures and what they like to do,
- 58:51Speaker 1: where they like to throw it, and what's it, do
- 58:53Speaker 1: they ever give you such perfect data that they're almost
- 58:55Speaker 1: tipping the pitches where you can you know what's coming
- 58:58Speaker 1: because they've studied the picture so much much. You don't
- 59:04Speaker 1: have to say who, but like where, you're just you
- 59:06Speaker 1: like we got because we can tell exactly what she's
- 59:08Speaker 1: about to throw.
- 59:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it just it.
- 59:11Speaker 9: It's really about like the growth of the game and
- 59:12Speaker 9: the aspect and people, the money that we're putting into
- 59:14Speaker 9: the sport now and like baseball, it's been there for
- 59:17Speaker 9: quite some time and now we're shifting over. We're getting
- 59:19Speaker 9: the data and the analytics for softball, and just being
- 59:22Speaker 9: able to get that type of information now is so
- 59:24Speaker 9: cool because like I don't like growing up, I was
- 59:27Speaker 9: just like all right, she throws like medium vel below,
- 59:31Speaker 9: like is what it is? Gets something hitable one? I
- 59:34Speaker 9: think now like it's just really cool to have that
- 59:37Speaker 9: type of information. I know, like you're definitely expecting, like
- 59:40Speaker 9: you know where you're gonna get. Now, it's just like
- 59:41Speaker 9: the matter if like we can execute, and we have
- 59:44Speaker 9: those discussions as like hitters all the time.
- 59:46Speaker 2: If they do hot in cold zones. Where's your cold zone?
- 59:48Speaker 2: Both of you? What's the blues?
- 59:50Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 59:51Speaker 2: Yeah, have you work on a lot of and in them? No? No?
- 59:55Speaker 1: Well the thing is like I self scout myself, not sports,
- 59:58Speaker 1: but I will hire people to try to beat me
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: at what I do.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: If it's if it's the radio show, if it's I'll
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: be scouting me.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Tell me where my deficiencies are. So if you were
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: trying to beat me, then I will see what you're
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: gonna show me and I'll try to get better at that.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: So somebody does try to beat me that I'll be
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: ready for it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: So I asked that like your blue zones, do you
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: work more like give me up and end, give me
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: twenty up and ins in a row, or you just like,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: please guy, I don't throw upon in.
- 1:00:22Speaker 14: I'm want to change my answer. It's actually outside.
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: She's like outside and low Yeah, but I mean I
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: think we're both like better in hitters, so we get
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: pitched to our weaknesses all the time, and you kind
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: of just got to know that, and you got to
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: know what a what a picture's strength and weaknesses are
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: and then kind of attack from there. So can they
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: a lot of pictures, Like do they struggle putting it there?
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: So it's just not even worth sitting that your your
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: blue zone or can you hunt your red zone. It's
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: just it's a big analytical game, like you said, and
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: then trusting yourself in the box to pick that blue zone,
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: pick the red zone, cut the plate in half.
- 1:00:53Speaker 14: What do you want to sit those type of things?
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: You have a blue zone?
- 1:00:56Speaker 9: I mean absolutely, I mean, like she said, you got
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: to play it to your strings, like at the end
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: of the day, like know what you're good at. But
- 1:01:02Speaker 9: like again mat up and in like you give me
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: a righty vlo up and in rise ball, have your.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Straight guess you have just straight guests like I have.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Let's just go and you just swing as hard as
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: you can and goodbye.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah she can.
- 1:01:18Speaker 15: She's strong enough to do that.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Me not so much.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Well, thank you guys. We really appreciate the time.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: And you know, I would say I'm looking forward to
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: going on the field, but they freaked me out so much
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: about it now that I just know it's part of
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: the day.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: At this point.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: And last question was terrible, but then your donut question,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: you were just taking a shot at me with them.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Here, Thank you, guys, thanks for having us.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Here is legendary Seminole's head coach Lannie Alameda. Lonnie has
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: thirteen forty win seasons. As you'll hear, she's super funny
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: and she really promotes balanced. They have a lot of fun,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: but they also want to win. Coach Alameda in the
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: entire program, we're so awesome to us. So here she
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: is Coach Alameda. Coach, thank you for having us. Your
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: facility is awesome. And if a facility isn't awesome that
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: we go to, we just say nothing. Yeah, so we
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: don't ever insult facilities. But there're so that we go
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: to and we just don't bring it up. But I
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: wonder when did they really start investing financially into this program,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: because you've proven to be successful over a while.
- 1:02:09Speaker 15: But when here, yeah, I'm moving very lucky.
- 1:02:11Speaker 16: I think, uh, coach Graft coach here thirty years and
- 1:02:14Speaker 16: I came in and she was already fighting for a
- 1:02:16Speaker 16: lot of things to happen, So the cages were already
- 1:02:18Speaker 16: getting ready to start, so we just inherited them as
- 1:02:21Speaker 16: a staff and then continue to keep building the program.
- 1:02:24Speaker 15: So we're very lucky. We share a house here with
- 1:02:26Speaker 15: our soccer program, and they're pretty good too, so we
- 1:02:28Speaker 15: try to rewbelbows with them.
- 1:02:29Speaker 16: So the better we all do in the house, the
- 1:02:32Speaker 16: house gets.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Pick a lot of trophies.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: This stuff doesn't get built without a lot of trophies,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: you know, so you know history too.
- 1:02:39Speaker 16: That's an aa W one right there. It doesn't really stand.
- 1:02:41Speaker 16: It's like duct tape on it right now.
- 1:02:44Speaker 15: So this is way back.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Yeah, what's that called? Yes?
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Athletic?
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Yeah, amazing, what's aw athletics? What's the Age Association for enter?
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Where's the W women for women?
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I like, yeah, I didn't thought it was.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: I thought it was an Academy award.
- 1:03:05Speaker 15: Having the history lesson. Yeah it does look.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Like it though, Yeah, academy for someone like who's the
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: actor around here?
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: We were walking through you mentioned the cages. It's the
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: first thing that struck me if I were a recruit,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: and now we're to and that's why the facilities always
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: stick out to me because I think if I were
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: being recruited to a bunch of programs, obviously the people,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: but like what am I going to be in every day?
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: In the cages? It just looks so new, uh so efficient.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: It's right here by the stadium.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: How important is it to you to have the best
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: facilities for the players?
- 1:03:37Speaker 16: I mean, obviously facility is really important today's age, for sure.
- 1:03:41Speaker 16: I think we do a really good a combination of
- 1:03:43Speaker 16: facility and family. It feels very homey here as we
- 1:03:47Speaker 16: go out there, and we're going to get out there
- 1:03:48Speaker 16: and get after it a little bit. The decking down
- 1:03:50Speaker 16: the right field line, you know, left field line, gives
- 1:03:53Speaker 16: us a feel of people right on top of us,
- 1:03:55Speaker 16: So that's kind of a home field advantage. So it's
- 1:03:57Speaker 16: a lot of fun to have our fans right there.
- 1:03:59Speaker 16: So I think it's a combination of nice facilities but
- 1:04:02Speaker 16: also like this really.
- 1:04:03Speaker 15: Cool family feel and a really good fan experience.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: What would your players say about you if you weren't
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: in the room and they knew it would never get
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: back to you, because that's often where you hear the
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: most honest What would what do you think they would
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: say about you?
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: And your style of coaching.
- 1:04:16Speaker 16: I think I balanced kind of being a mother to
- 1:04:19Speaker 16: them at times, Like I think that I think they
- 1:04:22Speaker 16: really can feel that we care as a coaching staff.
- 1:04:23Speaker 16: And definitely I care about them and their growth and
- 1:04:26Speaker 16: that's what inspires me. So I would hope that that's
- 1:04:28Speaker 16: what they would say. But you know, I definitely think
- 1:04:31Speaker 16: that we value that here and that's very important to us.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: When you're talking with a parent of a high school kid,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: maybe not a portal kid, but a high school kid,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: and the parent is like, Hey, I really want to
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: trust the person, the coach, the staff that my kid
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: is coming to play under, Like what is your what
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: is your spiel?
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Even though it's true, Like what is it to the
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: parent that you tell.
- 1:04:53Speaker 15: Them, Yeah, not smart enough to have a spiel? I
- 1:04:56Speaker 15: am who I am.
- 1:04:57Speaker 16: So I think that's the one thing that really we
- 1:05:01Speaker 16: do a good job of is we are who we
- 1:05:03Speaker 16: are so you get the genuine feel for what you're
- 1:05:05Speaker 16: going to have every single day. So and I think
- 1:05:08Speaker 16: that's how we are. Hey, this is you know, if
- 1:05:10Speaker 16: you love this place, you want to be part of
- 1:05:11Speaker 16: this place, You're gonna be around us twenty four to seven.
- 1:05:13Speaker 15: We're going to be family when you get here, you know,
- 1:05:15Speaker 15: and I.
- 1:05:16Speaker 16: Think that's what really draws the Florida State Seminole to
- 1:05:19Speaker 16: Florida State, and you know, it ends up being a
- 1:05:21Speaker 16: good relationship down the line.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: How do you continue to produce really great pitching?
- 1:05:30Speaker 16: I think it starts with one like the kids that
- 1:05:32Speaker 16: want to be here. They want to be here, So
- 1:05:34Speaker 16: we get a lot of kids sometimes that don't really
- 1:05:36Speaker 16: know what they're capable of doing. And then we get
- 1:05:38Speaker 16: into a system and then we have amazing defenders. So
- 1:05:41Speaker 16: you know, we pitch a defense a lot and just
- 1:05:44Speaker 16: very lucky to have a complete buy in on both
- 1:05:47Speaker 16: sides of the ball. So our offense does their thing
- 1:05:49Speaker 16: hating base running, and then our defense and pitching do
- 1:05:52Speaker 16: their thing.
- 1:05:52Speaker 15: So it's a really collective effort.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: Coach, you ever get fomo like coaching and you look
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: up on the stands someone's eating like a loaded nachos
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: and during during again, ye get some of those.
- 1:06:03Speaker 15: I will tell you this.
- 1:06:04Speaker 16: When that you know, the hamburger smell comes coming down,
- 1:06:07Speaker 16: like the burger smell good today, you can definitely smell that.
- 1:06:10Speaker 15: But then you also know, like.
- 1:06:12Speaker 16: We're having a really cool fan experience right now, too,
- 1:06:14Speaker 16: when you have that that ballpark smell and feel.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: But you never send someone like, just give me a
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: cheeseburger real quick.
- 1:06:18Speaker 15: Yeah, maybe a coffee, but not a cheezburger.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: One of my favorite things about the softball culture, and
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: in the last couple of years I've really been a
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: part of it, but just because of family and the
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: sport and it's just so much And I played baseball
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: growing up a lot and a big baseball fan.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: It's so much more fun than baseball. And I know
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: you're not going to.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Compare the two because you're but baseball sucks in a
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: slow compared to softball because you guys are having.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Fun, You're like keeping each other up like that.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: It's so positive of a sport and it's bang bang,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: you know, in between pitches. It's not seven minutes so softball.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: And I've tried.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I've gotten a lot of my friends to pay attention
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: to it as well because of the pace of it.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: And so with you guys, can you run like basketball?
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: There are a certain teams that will run high pace.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: You know, could you be a super high paced team
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: where it's like get on out and go, get on
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the mountain?
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: Go?
- 1:07:06Speaker 16: Is that a thing, not really a thing, because you know,
- 1:07:09Speaker 16: the hitter can dictate the time they get in and
- 1:07:10Speaker 16: out of the box two, and the umpire can dictative
- 1:07:12Speaker 16: for quick pitching.
- 1:07:13Speaker 15: That's called a quick pitching.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Oh so it's against the rules to actually, yeah, I.
- 1:07:18Speaker 16: Would say, now we're in the twenty seconds hitters have
- 1:07:21Speaker 16: to be in the box and ten. So I would say,
- 1:07:22Speaker 16: are our pitchers feel like that. It's a little more
- 1:07:25Speaker 16: like fast paced right now, but we've always kind of
- 1:07:27Speaker 16: been like that in general.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: So yeah, the our motion feels more natural because again,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: playing baseball, this hurts after a while. And you're gonna
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: have to talk real dumb to me, because I'm dumb
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: when it comes to I've only been I played soul
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: picks off balls that count.
- 1:07:40Speaker 12: Yeah, not really count for what.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Well, I don't know the ball figger, but this I
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: would throw and I would pitch a little, and how
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: my arm would hurt for three or four days. What
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: is remarkable to me is that your guys can go
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: sometimes two games in a row, three, I've is it
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: just because of the our motion?
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: It's so natural, I would.
- 1:07:59Speaker 15: Say, the arm, which is matt natural.
- 1:08:01Speaker 16: It's the lower back that probably takes a lot more
- 1:08:03Speaker 16: that people don't realize.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: I don't realize it, and then you know, you.
- 1:08:06Speaker 16: Think your arm's going I mean, some of these kids
- 1:08:07Speaker 16: are throwing upper sixty seventy miles an hour, so something's
- 1:08:10Speaker 16: taking the brunt in order to get that you know,
- 1:08:12Speaker 16: ball into the zone. So usually it's the foot down
- 1:08:14Speaker 16: in the back that's kind of taken that to pull
- 1:08:16Speaker 16: your arm back. But we don't have like major league
- 1:08:19Speaker 16: levels that have put money into really understanding how much
- 1:08:23Speaker 16: that affects us. So a lot of our kids aren't
- 1:08:25Speaker 16: playing until later years, and you know, we're not protecting
- 1:08:27Speaker 16: it braceballs, protecting it for a major league So it's
- 1:08:29Speaker 16: a little bit different.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Well, protecting me, mom, I'm still hurt. True, there's almost
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: thrilling me through.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Four innings of like eleventh grade and be like, oh,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: give me the ice back. But I've seen certain pitchers
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: and maybe it's more common than I think, throw two games.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Of a double header.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Yeah, whenever someone pitches, let's say they throw fourteen innings, yeah,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: thirteen fourteen in a y two games?
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Is it the same kind? Do they ice?
- 1:08:53Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: The same way? Like as soon as they're off, are
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: they wrapping an icing.
- 1:08:56Speaker 16: Yeah, there's ice, there's flushing, there's you know, your lower
- 1:08:59Speaker 16: half is taking a lot to a lot comes from
- 1:09:00Speaker 16: the lower half, So they're getting in the cold tubs
- 1:09:03Speaker 16: or whatever they need to do to rego. And I
- 1:09:05Speaker 16: think back in the day you could do that. You
- 1:09:07Speaker 16: could do back to back days and fourteen innings, and
- 1:09:09Speaker 16: but it's changed. Our offense has gotten a lot better,
- 1:09:11Speaker 16: hitters have gotten a lot better. Video has gotten to
- 1:09:14Speaker 16: become pretty big for us right now too, So you
- 1:09:16Speaker 16: see more strategy in the pitching side of it.
- 1:09:18Speaker 15: But we have the ability to do that.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: I saw girl cheat. I was I went to a tournament.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say what team I wis hope.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: And again, whenever they go back, their foot comes not supposed.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: To come off the ground. And yeah she was. She
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: was coming off the ground. Yeah, and UP would not
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: call it.
- 1:09:32Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: So is it like basketball or some amps, you know
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: they're going to call the game a little closer? Is
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: it same in softball where you know this up actually
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: gives you know, a couple of inches off the ground.
- 1:09:42Speaker 15: Yeah you could, Yeah, there are some.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Yeah she wants to Okay, well, well you know that
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: because I feel like there's no elaboration. But I was
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: just like, it's obvious her foot is coming off the
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: ground and they weren't calling it.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Yeah, some amps just let it go.
- 1:09:57Speaker 15: We've opened it up a little bit. We changed some
- 1:09:58Speaker 15: rules because.
- 1:09:59Speaker 16: It got to be a little bit ticky tack as
- 1:10:01Speaker 16: every coach is over there yelling and umparts are calling it.
- 1:10:03Speaker 16: Someone parts are not calling it. So we've opened it up.
- 1:10:06Speaker 16: But now that the offense is so good, let the
- 1:10:07Speaker 16: pitchers do what they want to do. You want to
- 1:10:08Speaker 16: come off the ground, come off the ground. Really, we've
- 1:10:10Speaker 16: opened that up a little bit more.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, because I wouldn't want to come off the ground
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: until I was told not to call off the Groundyeah,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: that's what I would say.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Until they correct you, I would jump.
- 1:10:17Speaker 16: You should like check out some of the men's fast
- 1:10:19Speaker 16: pitch stuff. Those guys come off the ground, replan go. Yeah,
- 1:10:21Speaker 16: they're starting at forty six and maybe throwing at fifteen feet.
- 1:10:24Speaker 16: I swear they come so far out there. So they
- 1:10:26Speaker 16: played a man's fast pitch. We have a coach, Travis
- 1:10:28Speaker 16: Wilson played men's past pitch. It's not no, no, it's
- 1:10:33Speaker 16: International Park.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: I thought they're still I still have like four years
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: left then, Yeah, there's many good Yeah you could. Would
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: you want your girls to play hopping a slow pitch
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: league in the off season or would that completely mess
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: up timing?
- 1:10:46Speaker 15: Might mess up timing a little bit. But if they
- 1:10:48Speaker 15: could have some fun, I'm all about fun. It's fun
- 1:10:50Speaker 15: for them.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: How are you all about fun? But you win so
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: much because they're that U justas position. Oh, I agree,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: it's winning fun. But a lot of times to win,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: you can't. All the work that goes into it is
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: not fun. So how do you balance that, the juxtaposition
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: of fun but also having a consistently winning program.
- 1:11:09Speaker 16: Yeah, that's a tough question. I think we really try
- 1:11:13Speaker 16: to have fun for the little moments. So we gotta
- 1:11:16Speaker 16: celebrate the little things, you know, so someone's first hit,
- 1:11:20Speaker 16: you know, maybe our first win. I don't we have
- 1:11:22Speaker 16: an ice cream party, Like, we gotta have fun along
- 1:11:24Speaker 16: the way as we go through things. But I also
- 1:11:26Speaker 16: think our perclassmen really enjoy that part of it. You know,
- 1:11:29Speaker 16: it's a hard work, hard work, and then the other
- 1:11:31Speaker 16: side of hard work is fun because you're being successful,
- 1:11:34Speaker 16: you know, obviously, and wins is a big part of it.
- 1:11:36Speaker 15: But really enjoying the process piece of it.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: But if you're losing and having it, if you're having
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: way too much fun, but then you're losing, then do
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: you have less fun?
- 1:11:42Speaker 15: It's still fun though, Yeah, I think there's a balance.
- 1:11:44Speaker 16: Silly, they're silly, and then there's fun. Right, So we
- 1:11:47Speaker 16: tried to talk about that. Yeah, but yes, you're right.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Does the song still happen? We need a picture, not
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: a belliatcher. Do they ever do that anymore?
- 1:11:53Speaker 15: It's gotten way worse than that, cheers and songs. I
- 1:11:56Speaker 15: would be okay with picture and belli Atcher nowadays. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:59Speaker 15: it's gone.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Three final questions.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: I have four kids, and I'm always like, Okay, I
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: can't really explain this, so let's watch a movie and
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: I pick a good movie that's gonna explain a lesson.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: Do you ever do that with your girls where you're
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: just like, this is a good sports movie that you
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: need to watch.
- 1:12:13Speaker 16: Gosh, there's so many and they don't really anymore, but
- 1:12:15Speaker 16: I'll tell you, for the love of the game is
- 1:12:17Speaker 16: a good one. We like Clears the mechanism, you know,
- 1:12:19Speaker 16: and he's like, hello, Charlie as he comes to the plate,
- 1:12:21Speaker 16: and I can't remember it's not Charlie.
- 1:12:22Speaker 15: But it's like, you know, clear the.
- 1:12:24Speaker 16: Mechanism, that's a good one. I think the Boldero one
- 1:12:26Speaker 16: when they're meeting, you know, and like there's just like
- 1:12:28Speaker 16: little ones that we could send clips to. I do
- 1:12:29Speaker 16: the pictures quite a bit, like you know, but full
- 1:12:31Speaker 16: movies are tough.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Yeah, the last five years with technology, what advancements have
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: you seen when it comes to extremely minor movements in
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: the body and how you can monitor that.
- 1:12:43Speaker 16: I mean, I think the big one for the body
- 1:12:45Speaker 16: would be whoop, you know, getting after sleep and recovery
- 1:12:47Speaker 16: in those pieces has been just good education piece for
- 1:12:50Speaker 16: our players on how much recovery and sleep is needed,
- 1:12:52Speaker 16: so from naps to getting in bed early. So that's
- 1:12:55Speaker 16: been a big one and for us to manage as
- 1:12:57Speaker 16: coaches honestly, like back in the day, man, you know,
- 1:13:00Speaker 16: go run for ten hours and don't drink water. Right
- 1:13:02Speaker 16: We've changed right now there's water breaks and there's rest breaks,
- 1:13:05Speaker 16: and you know, I think for us at times we're
- 1:13:07Speaker 16: like maybe we just need a day off right now,
- 1:13:09Speaker 16: and so it just really educated us on recovery pieces
- 1:13:11Speaker 16: on that side. But technology has gone a whole different
- 1:13:14Speaker 16: level for us on pitching movements and exit velos and
- 1:13:17Speaker 16: all those things.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: What'd you call that one an exit villa? Woo whoop,
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: it's a bracelet.
- 1:13:21Speaker 15: It was a bracelet.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: I was like, whoo, there it is.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: That's a new Apple vision that's been up for like
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: ten years. When you just wear the bracelets. Yeah, have
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: you had?
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: This is my final question, because again, you have such
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: a culture of winning here, but I understand it's not
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: always like that. Even just looking from ten thousand feet up.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: You're an amazing coach with an amazing program. But if
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: you had seasons where you haven't won as much, but
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: you feel like you've accomplished more because of what that
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: team has been able to do.
- 1:13:46Speaker 16: Yeah, twenty seventeen, we lost in supers here and that
- 1:13:50Speaker 16: catapulted us to the national championship twenty eighteen. So there
- 1:13:53Speaker 16: are times when, like you look back and I think,
- 1:13:55Speaker 16: if you can be in it long enough, sometimes.
- 1:13:57Speaker 15: Failure really could be about big success. You just have
- 1:13:59Speaker 15: to make sure you keep the the big vision at hands.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: So I was like, let me try a book on that. Yeah,
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: that sounds like a great book. Yeah, I wrote that book,
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: you did?
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: I did?
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, get it to local bookstore fairly until you don't
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: buy Bobby Buons thing.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: This was all a commercial for being a part of
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: the commercial. Coach were huge fans of the program. Thank
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: you for having us.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: And she keeps like intimidating me with like her glances
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: of you have no idea what's about to happen.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: So we're going to see what's about to happen.
- 1:14:22Speaker 15: Boy, we have some players here. I can see there
- 1:14:24Speaker 15: right now. They're excited to get after it out there
- 1:14:25Speaker 15: with you.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I'm not willing to get after it. I'm just wanting
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: to have a good time. I'm here to have fun.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: She said, it was right, Yes, thank you, coach, thank
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: you very much. All right, so that'll do it.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I forgot to tell you, guys, I was ripping open
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a box of like twenty fifteen cards, not in an
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: expensive box of cards at all, and there were twenty
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: fifteen collegiate Panini like the whole box was like I
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: don't know, eighty books or something. And I have had
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: no luck with these type of cards. But they're all
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: thick cards and I'm dumping them out one by one.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: And I did get a Chris Bryant in college.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: Oh that's cool.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Yeah, where do you go to college or maybe miners.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: I don't know. He's wearing something that wasn't and.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: So I'm like, oh cool, that was my big one.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: And I looked at the butt. I'm like, oh my god,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: it was a Michigan Tom Brady signed card.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: That's so crazy.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Is Tom Brady in a Wolverine uniform He's signature on card?
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: I could not.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, was.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: That on the box because usually they say like look.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Out for they don't say that on these.
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: Wow, dude, that's crazy.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: No, I'd already thought this Chris Bryant is the greatest.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Get Yeah, good for me.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: But I hit the Tom Brady auto and then I
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: looked up on eBay, And on eBay you can't just
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: look what people are selling on for. You have to
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: look for sold what they've sold for. Yeah, this was
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: this card will sell for like four thousand dollars.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Oh my godness, Oh my goodness.
- 1:15:45Speaker 6: You have to Tom Brady right, because you have the helmet,
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: have the helmet and this card in this card, and
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: the card will sell more than the helmet will what.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Oddly, why is the Michigan no the better value in cards?
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: If you get good on what on Earth.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: How'd you do that?
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: I didn't, I mean I didn't have had some bad
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: luck too, But that's a pretty good one. That's a
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: really good a good one for sure. On lining up
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Dyl Strawberry.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: I found an avenue.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: But so this is what I would suggest. I suggest
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: we start over. But listen to my point here. I
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: don't think you all can get the same person. You're
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: all running at the same person. I think you've played
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: luck in the draw.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: If he reads three d ms. Let's say, what's going.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: On, everybody gets a different person. Okay, I like that.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: So and so is Daryl off the board. I'm gonna
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: understand my DM. Darryl can stay on the board, and
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: if you get him, that one counts. But we'll do
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: another one as well.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: So I have the stack of cards here. I've not
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: looked in them. I don't know.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Just tell me when to stop.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Read. You can go first, don't start yet, go tell
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: me whatever.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: You want stop Okay, read. Your person is going to
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: be whoever this is.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: What is it?
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: That's perfect unless he's in another country.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Well, Clark you might can get because Will Clark has
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: a podcast, a pretty big podcast.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Really, I mean Willclark's awesome did the Giants?
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: He was with the Rangers in this. I didn't realize
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: I was looking at old cards like ninety three Panini.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: That Andre Dawson, who was my favorite player before Mark Grace.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Andre Dawson, my second favorite baseball player ever, played for
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: the Red Sox into his career.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: Oh remember that, m Yeah you didn't know that, Kevin.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: It must have been one year. Okay, Eddie ready, let's go.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Don't start yet and whenever you're ready.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: He flipping, keep flipping.
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: We're looking for maybe possibly my next door neighbor.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Go, oh, that looks pretty old.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Eddie Murray?
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Is he still alive?
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: Eddie Murray?
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: The Oriole Oriole Yeah, Eddie Murphy, Eddie Murray, Dude.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: How am I gonna get Eddie Murray?
- 1:17:48Speaker 12: Yay?
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: Sixty eight?
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Is he still still live? Where does he live?
- 1:17:52Speaker 8: Uh?
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: Nashville, Tennessee.
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: Doesn't say?
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Eddie Murray Okay's yeah yeah, picking number
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: hold on.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Hope.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: He's on Instagram Facebook one through fifteen twelve. Okay, here
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: we go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: eleven twelve.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Who is it?
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: I can't read that Cubs.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Oh it's Ryan Sandburg. He has cancer.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I don't know that he'd be the guy to try
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: to get right now.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: Well, hey, that's luck of the drawer, right.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: I mean he may be doing interviews.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I don't know if we follow each other on Instagram.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: I say, just give it a shot, Kevin, he's battling cancer.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: Yeah maybe not.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Let's let's I'm gonna give you the next one here.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: That is the red Very Larkin.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: Oh, Very Larkin. That's awesome.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Mikey, you won't play the game or now?
